- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, is this a sponsored feature? Gina, I'm finished
- 0:02Speaker 1: in the last of my simplicity cocktail, Margarita, I think
- 0:05Speaker 1: that pairs well, pairs well? Okay, Well, she's back from
- 0:13Speaker 1: the Windy City, the City of big shoulders, Chicago, Illinois.
- 0:18Speaker 1: It's Victoria. No, the Real Housewives of Salt Lake is
- 0:22Speaker 1: not back, but a show that's apparently bigger. Well, so,
- 0:27Speaker 1: what's the difference between the Real Housewives of Salt Lake
- 0:30Speaker 1: and the what is this called The Secret Lives of
- 0:33Speaker 1: More MinC Live. What's the difference, Victoria? Well, the first
- 0:36Speaker 1: difference is where it's aired. So Real Housewives is a
- 0:39Speaker 1: Bravo show. This is a Hulu reality show, so completely different.
- 0:44Speaker 1: I think they're completely different production houses. So that's one difference. Yeah. Wow.
- 0:50Speaker 1: And then, of course, like what is driving this? So
- 0:53Speaker 1: I mean Bravo is curating you know, I would say
- 0:56Speaker 1: sailed actresses for the Real Housewives. Here we have influencers
- 1:02Speaker 1: on TikTok who seem like they might be interesting enough
- 1:06Speaker 1: to make a TV show out of. So that's marveig difference. Well,
- 1:09Speaker 1: I will say I was ready to hate this, and
- 1:14Speaker 1: I'm kind of in right now because the production value
- 1:16Speaker 1: for me makes a big difference, and I wasn't sure
- 1:19Speaker 1: how this is going to go at first, and they
- 1:21Speaker 1: do pay attention to that, and I think that they've
- 1:24Speaker 1: done a good job in editing and choosing who to
- 1:26Speaker 1: make the focus. So let me tell you about who's
- 1:28Speaker 1: who on the show and why I think it's interesting.
- 1:30Speaker 1: So again, and also like I'm I think someone called
- 1:33Speaker 1: me a geriatric millennial the other day, so just you
- 1:35Speaker 1: know where I fit in the age range of what
- 1:38Speaker 1: how the world works. This is based on something called
- 1:41Speaker 1: mom talk, which I think is a TikTok account or
- 1:45Speaker 1: a hashtag. I don't really know how this works, but
- 1:48Speaker 1: we're going to refer to mom talk a lot. So
- 1:50Speaker 1: just know we're talking about these specific women. Yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 1:55Speaker 1: And there's content on there, and I confess I had
- 1:58Speaker 1: not gone to look it up because I really don't
- 2:00Speaker 1: want this to mess up my algorithm. I don't want
- 2:02Speaker 1: this to set up in my seat, so I'll just
- 2:06Speaker 1: watch it on the show. But I so it's mostly
- 2:10Speaker 1: Mormon women. They're creating this context. They content, they do
- 2:14Speaker 1: have they say that they you know, have they have
- 2:16Speaker 1: things to say about the patriarchy and Mormon Church. So
- 2:18Speaker 1: I don't really know because I haven't seen the content,
- 2:20Speaker 1: but that's what they say. They have a huge following,
- 2:23Speaker 1: and one of the reasons they blew up was because
- 2:25Speaker 1: of this swinging scandal that I think we've all are
- 2:28Speaker 1: casually aware with it. I'll talk about that a little
- 2:30Speaker 1: bit more. So that's how they blew up, and then
- 2:33Speaker 1: I think after that is where the show started. So
- 2:36Speaker 1: who's who I will say. I'm only going to tell
- 2:38Speaker 1: you the people I really think you should worry about.
- 2:41Speaker 1: So Taylor, she is the woman who created mom Talk
- 2:44Speaker 1: and she's the woman who broke this, broke the swinging scandals.
- 2:47Speaker 1: I actually really like her, and I would be very
- 2:49Speaker 1: curious to other people think I don't know what the fancy,
- 2:52Speaker 1: but I love her. Whitney joined mom Talk later and
- 2:57Speaker 1: then she quit and she's had issues and she first season,
- 3:00Speaker 1: she and Taylor are fighting over who is the Queen Bee.
- 3:01Speaker 1: But anyway, so you've got Taylor Whitney. The other fun
- 3:05Speaker 1: character is Jen Affleck. She's married to a guy named
- 3:08Speaker 1: Zach and she thinks that Zach is related to Ben Affleck.
- 3:11Speaker 1: So I'm gonna talk about some hot topics, So I'll
- 3:13Speaker 1: get into that in a minute. And then Miranda is
- 3:17Speaker 1: new on season two because apparently she's an og of
- 3:20Speaker 1: mom Talk, she helped Taylor create it, and she's now
- 3:23Speaker 1: shown up in season two and wants to rejoin mom Talk,
- 3:25Speaker 1: which we know means she wants to be on the show.
- 3:27Speaker 1: So those are those are the four main people to
- 3:29Speaker 1: worry about. We do have Mikayla, Layla, Jesse, and Demi.
- 3:33Speaker 1: I do like Layla. I cannot tell Jesse and Demi
- 3:36Speaker 1: a part. Please go to my instagram at Joampat I
- 3:39Speaker 1: posted yeah, and whenever they're in confessional, I'm like, wait,
- 3:43Speaker 1: who is this? I can't tell them apart. So check
- 3:46Speaker 1: out my instagram. I posted skills mostly for you guys
- 3:48Speaker 1: because I know you're never gonna watch miss Ya never.
- 3:52Speaker 1: So again, the hot topic of the swinging scandal, So
- 3:55Speaker 1: what happened was Taylor posted a video confessing that women
- 3:59Speaker 1: in Mom Talk we're swinging. I'm not clear exactly what
- 4:03Speaker 1: swinging means. It sounds like it's not they call it. Yeah,
- 4:06Speaker 1: they call it soft swinging, correct, which is like kissing
- 4:10Speaker 1: and a little bit of feeling not all the way Okay,
- 4:17Speaker 1: all right, and so, and what we found out in
- 4:19Speaker 1: season one is that it wasn't all the women in
- 4:21Speaker 1: Mom Mom Talk, and that's one some of the drama
- 4:24Speaker 1: was the moms felt like Taylor was outing all of
- 4:26Speaker 1: them instead of just those who are participating in it.
- 4:28Speaker 1: So it's very clear they weren't. What we do learn
- 4:30Speaker 1: in season two is that Miranda is the woman now
- 4:33Speaker 1: that showed up in season two. She and her ex
- 4:36Speaker 1: husband were participating in the swinging, and Miranda quit Mom
- 4:39Speaker 1: Talk after this whole scandal broke. And then, just so
- 4:42Speaker 1: everybody knows, Taylor and Randa are both divorced from their
- 4:45Speaker 1: husbands who were involved in this swinging stuff. And one
- 4:50Speaker 1: of the one of the conflicts that we're seeing right
- 4:51Speaker 1: now is the is how much Miranda's walking back how
- 4:56Speaker 1: much she actually participated in the swinging, and Taylor wants
- 4:58Speaker 1: her to tell the truth. So we're going to watch
- 5:00Speaker 1: that playout through throughout season two. I will say. Also
- 5:03Speaker 1: on my Instagram, I posted a screenshot the production made
- 5:05Speaker 1: of trying to show the tree of who was with
- 5:08Speaker 1: who and where there were problems because Miranda's ex caught
- 5:11Speaker 1: feelings for Taylor and that was part of the problem anyway.
- 5:14Speaker 1: So that's the swinging scandal. We'll keep we'll keep an
- 5:16Speaker 1: eye on this throughout the season. And then here's this
- 5:19Speaker 1: question about whether or not Jen and Zach Affleck are
- 5:22Speaker 1: related to Ben Affleck. So in season one, Jen kept
- 5:26Speaker 1: telling everybody, I'm you know, my husband's the second cousin
- 5:30Speaker 1: to Ben Affleck. And then what we see in season
- 5:33Speaker 1: two is actually episode two of season two, so I've
- 5:35Speaker 1: only watched the first two episodes of season two. Is
- 5:38Speaker 1: Ben or Ben? Ben? Zach tells Jen, he says, you
- 5:41Speaker 1: really need to stop saying that, and she's like, what
- 5:43Speaker 1: do you mean, and he's like, we're not We're not.
- 5:45Speaker 1: We can't prove we're not related to Ben Affleck. He's like,
- 5:48Speaker 1: or I'm not sure, and so she gets very upsets
- 5:50Speaker 1: this whole confrontation. So I think the jury stale. I'm
- 5:53Speaker 1: gonna say they're not related. I did post a picture
- 5:55Speaker 1: of them, So if you see that picture of a
- 5:57Speaker 1: blonde guy and another woman, that's that's Zach Affleck. So,
- 6:01Speaker 1: but what they do as a joke is they dress
- 6:03Speaker 1: up as j Lo and Ben for a Halloween party.
- 6:06Speaker 1: But then also another couple dresses up as Jlo and
- 6:09Speaker 1: Ben to make fun of Jen and Zach. So anyway,
- 6:11Speaker 1: that's one of the stories we're watching. And then, as
- 6:13Speaker 1: I mentioned, Miranda wants back on mom Talks. We'll see
- 6:15Speaker 1: what happens. And then the other big drama that is
- 6:17Speaker 1: a carryover from season one is Taylor and her boyfriend Dakota,
- 6:22Speaker 1: and so there's this constant tension about whether or not
- 6:24Speaker 1: they're going to break up. I'm very invested in this
- 6:26Speaker 1: because I really don't like how Taylor's family wants her
- 6:30Speaker 1: to make this work out of just because they have
- 6:32Speaker 1: a kid together. So it's very it's very messy and
- 6:35Speaker 1: not pleasant, but I'm very curious. Also, I did note
- 6:38Speaker 1: here that Dakota is a load and using. So you're
- 6:42Speaker 1: so you're okay with the kid being a bastard then, huh?
- 6:46Speaker 1: I mean, come on, I guess yes, in this situation,
- 6:50Speaker 1: I would prefer that I think I think Taylor's better
- 6:52Speaker 1: off without right. Yeah, And that, actually, Bill, that's so
- 6:56Speaker 1: insightful of you, because that is the whole conversation rom
- 6:59Speaker 1: is from her family. No bastards, all right, I will
- 7:05Speaker 1: put that on my note. Here's what I'm excited about
- 7:09Speaker 1: a couple of things is there's a crossover with another
- 7:11Speaker 1: show on Hulu called vander Pump Villa, which I haven't watched. No,
- 7:16Speaker 1: I haven't watched, But there is a Real Housewives the
- 7:18Speaker 1: Beverly Hills connection here that I can't wait to tell
- 7:20Speaker 1: you more about. And then, depending how we want to
- 7:23Speaker 1: approach this segment we could take. I think we could
- 7:27Speaker 1: cover two episodes a week. All all ten episodes are
- 7:33Speaker 1: available on Hulu. I'll figure we can take them two
- 7:35Speaker 1: at a time unless we really want to drag this out,
- 7:36Speaker 1: which I'm always happy to do. So just let me know.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Is it a lot different than than the Real Housewives
- 7:43Speaker 1: or is it? Yeah, it's produced differently, you know, because
- 7:46Speaker 1: of the of the of what we're dealing with, the
- 7:48Speaker 1: content and you know, and I mean and logistically, like
- 7:52Speaker 1: these women are younger, right, They're younger, and they're content
- 7:55Speaker 1: creators and for real, like the Real Housewives are failed actresses,
- 7:59Speaker 1: and so there's a performance and some different boundaries going
- 8:02Speaker 1: on with Housewives that I do appreciate. And watching younger
- 8:05Speaker 1: people trying to navigate reality TV is not always entertaining
- 8:08Speaker 1: when you're not dealing with, you know, failed actresses. So
- 8:10Speaker 1: I do think that's a big difference. But the thing
- 8:12Speaker 1: I do like, is how they're exploring, you know, some
- 8:14Speaker 1: how these women are navigating the church. I'm curious or
- 8:17Speaker 1: the Mormon Church. I'm curious if this is real because
- 8:19Speaker 1: I'm not engaged with that anymore. But i don't know
- 8:21Speaker 1: how real this is as far as like a movement
- 8:23Speaker 1: and how they're influencing any any nudity. No, not yet.
- 8:27Speaker 1: I'm not going to check it out. I want check it.
- 8:29Speaker 1: I mean there could be. It's on Hulu. Well, and
- 8:32Speaker 1: they give it a lot of work done, and they do,
- 8:34Speaker 1: there's some things blurred out, so all right, and then
- 8:38Speaker 1: a drinking game is literally all the lives throughout the
- 8:40Speaker 1: whole season. You're going to take a drink each time
- 8:42Speaker 1: someone says literally or live and then I'm gonna keep
- 8:45Speaker 1: count of this and then make sure you drink a
- 8:47Speaker 1: dirty soda or Martinelli sparkling juice while you watch LASO.
- 8:50Speaker 1: All right, thank you, Victoria. It's the real Lives of
- 8:54Speaker 1: Mormon Housewiveswives of Mormon Wives. It's Victoria in Chicago. Thank you,
- 9:01Speaker 1: Thank you, Victoria. Bye bye okay,
