- 0:00Speaker 1: The Woody Show and into another new hour. It is
- 0:06Speaker 1: The Woody Show. Woody Great venis Gina, Grant, Sea Bass Sammy.
- 0:13Speaker 1: The newest member of the crew, Jeff G.
- 0:16Speaker 2: H is here.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Somebody on social media, it was funny that you were
- 0:21Speaker 1: talking about whatever one of the things one of the videos.
- 0:23Speaker 1: If you're not following us on social media, you should,
- 0:25Speaker 1: but you know we post those studio videos every day.
- 0:29Speaker 1: One of the comments of man I really enjoyed the
- 0:31Speaker 1: addition of Jeff G to the lineup is when is
- 0:33Speaker 1: Jeff going to be doing one of the ten questions
- 0:36Speaker 1: get to know you segments? And it's so funny that
- 0:39Speaker 1: you set up because we already had it on the books,
- 0:43Speaker 1: So we're gonna get to know Jeff G. A little
- 0:45Speaker 1: bit better. Everybody here on the show has done this.
- 0:48Speaker 1: When we did it originally is because we had heard
- 0:50Speaker 1: about It's this old thing. It's like from ninety seven
- 0:54Speaker 1: or something. These researchers, a husband and wife team of psychologists,
- 0:58Speaker 1: they got together. They published a pap about these experiments
- 1:02Speaker 1: they did where strangers asked each other sets of questions
- 1:06Speaker 1: designed to you know, they could two people, two strangers
- 1:12Speaker 1: not knowing anything before, could they just fall in love
- 1:15Speaker 1: if they spent the time to answer what they ended
- 1:18Speaker 1: up being thirty six personal questions, each intended to become
- 1:22Speaker 1: increasingly probing, you know, stimulating closeness, intimacy, and ultimately love.
- 1:27Speaker 1: And they tried it with real people and it worked.
- 1:29Speaker 1: These two complete strangers just fell in love kind of,
- 1:33Speaker 1: you know, bypassing the typical you know, flow of a
- 1:35Speaker 1: conversation or you know, over a certain number of dates,
- 1:38Speaker 1: like you just sit down, you answer the other person answers,
- 1:42Speaker 1: and you go through the entire thing and you spend
- 1:44Speaker 1: time to be thoughtful and really really answer the question. Now,
- 1:47Speaker 1: we're not going to go through all thirty six. We
- 1:50Speaker 1: gave Jeff the same ten questions that each person on
- 1:54Speaker 1: this show has has answered the past for the ten
- 1:57Speaker 1: questions segment. But Jeff, are you ready?
- 1:59Speaker 3: Sure?
- 2:00Speaker 1: All right? So Jeff, g take take some time here,
- 2:04Speaker 1: tell us about your life, give us your life story
- 2:08Speaker 1: and as much detail as you can in that. Well
- 2:11Speaker 1: it'll give you three minutes. Three minutes, yes, sir.
- 2:14Speaker 2: All right. So starting off fifty three, married with a
- 2:18Speaker 2: couple kids, two teenagers. One is in college, one is
- 2:22Speaker 2: a senior in high school. Parents were together for about
- 2:26Speaker 2: three years or so before my dad left my mom
- 2:28Speaker 2: for his side piece. Good times. By the way, my
- 2:31Speaker 2: mom was nine months pregnant when my dad belt with
- 2:35Speaker 2: my little brother. That sucks, so good times there as well.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Raised by a single mom and my grandma, of course,
- 2:42Speaker 2: we went through all the typical struggles out a single mom.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Does I know, Gina, you know, and what do you know?
- 2:48Speaker 2: My mom eventually remarried when I was around thirteen or so,
- 2:52Speaker 2: and you know how step dad stuff goes. You know,
- 2:53Speaker 2: that was always hard in the beginning, and you know,
- 2:55Speaker 2: it wasn't wasn't very easy, but he ended up being
- 2:58Speaker 2: a really good dude, and we got a really great
- 2:59Speaker 2: relationship now, and you know, I'm thankful for that. My
- 3:04Speaker 2: dad did come back around, which, uh, you know, wasn't
- 3:07Speaker 2: easy as well. I think I was like in high
- 3:08Speaker 2: school when he came back around, and I really wasn't
- 3:11Speaker 2: here for it, you know, I was kind of like, yeah, great,
- 3:14Speaker 2: now you show up. But it ended up being cool.
- 3:18Speaker 2: I tried, he tried, and uh he ended up passing
- 3:22Speaker 2: away though in like nineteen ninety because of stomach cancer.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Uh he got from Agent Orange and Vietnam. So we
- 3:27Speaker 2: had some time together, so it was cool.
- 3:30Speaker 1: We usually save a bunch of questions till the to
- 3:32Speaker 1: the end, but I will ask. Liked so, like, the
- 3:34Speaker 1: relationship never quite got there.
- 3:36Speaker 2: It was cool. A lot of resentment, you know how
- 3:38Speaker 2: it goes.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Yeah, but but did you ever get to a place
- 3:40Speaker 1: where it's I.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Think after he passed, I got to that place. It
- 3:43Speaker 2: took It took me some time and some you know,
- 3:45Speaker 2: some therapy and all that good stuff to kind of
- 3:47Speaker 2: just forgive, you know, so, but it's all good. You know.
- 3:50Speaker 2: I think that everything happens for a reason. And he
- 3:52Speaker 2: did his best to come back, and he tried, you know,
- 3:55Speaker 2: so I got to give him credit for that. Let's
- 3:58Speaker 2: see what else. Speaking of high school around that time,
- 4:01Speaker 2: I was just like every other person in the radio.
- 4:02Speaker 2: I was the jackass and the class clown, made a
- 4:06Speaker 2: lot of questionable choices and friends sold party favors, if
- 4:10Speaker 2: you know what I mean. Was in a crew that
- 4:13Speaker 2: was gang adjacent. So you know, I got into real trouble,
- 4:17Speaker 2: Like I got into trouble, but luckily I was able
- 4:20Speaker 2: to like hold down a job and graduate and all
- 4:22Speaker 2: that stuff. So I kind of lived like two lives almost,
- 4:24Speaker 2: you know, in high school. But it all worked out
- 4:27Speaker 2: after high school, I you know, stayed working, you know,
- 4:30Speaker 2: full time, promoted clubs in Hollywood, kind of still hung
- 4:34Speaker 2: around with some questionable people after high school as well.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Well you work in radio. Yeah, you're hanging around questionable
- 4:40Speaker 1: that seems Yeah.
- 4:41Speaker 2: It seems to be the one constant in my Yeah,
- 4:43Speaker 2: if you're going to clubs, yeah, definitely. Yeah. Then so
- 4:46Speaker 2: I couldn't, you know, kind of stop the hustle, I guess.
- 4:49Speaker 2: And I ended up getting busted scamming credit cards when
- 4:53Speaker 2: I was like in my very early twenties. Yeah, that
- 4:56Speaker 2: was you. We would basically we'd basically like lift the
- 4:59Speaker 2: credit card numbers, and then we had people in a
- 5:01Speaker 2: bunch of different stores that we go spend other people's
- 5:03Speaker 2: money there and either flip them, flip them or keep them,
- 5:06Speaker 2: depending on you got caught or.
- 5:08Speaker 1: I got caught.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I got caught. I got caught, and I ended
- 5:12Speaker 2: up pleading down to a misdemeanor because no one snitched.
- 5:14Speaker 2: God bless them for that. And anyways, I ended up
- 5:18Speaker 2: cleaning the freeways and prison buses for like a year.
- 5:21Speaker 2: I think it was like thirty seven weekends or something
- 5:23Speaker 2: like that. So that taught me the only lesson I
- 5:25Speaker 2: needed to know. Never got in any trouble after that,
- 5:28Speaker 2: totally straighten myself out, which you know, again everything happens
- 5:31Speaker 2: for a reason, right, So never did any dirt after that,
- 5:33Speaker 2: and I'm kind of proud of it. Trying to think,
- 5:36Speaker 2: what else where does that bring me? I did write
- 5:38Speaker 2: a couple of things down. Oh so, I it was
- 5:41Speaker 2: weird like at that time, you know, I was in
- 5:43Speaker 2: so much trouble, but at the same time, like my
- 5:45Speaker 2: career was starting to go a little bit. So I
- 5:47Speaker 2: got into radio. I was working at night and then
- 5:50Speaker 2: going to the you know, to the couch rands yards
- 5:52Speaker 2: to you know, do the do my freeway work in
- 5:55Speaker 2: the morning. And then I ended up you know, my
- 5:58Speaker 2: first job, I was an intern then kind of you
- 6:00Speaker 2: did the thing work, worked my way up from overnight,
- 6:02Speaker 2: a lot of similar stories nights and all that stuff.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Ended up moving to Vegas to do radio for like
- 6:07Speaker 2: six months. Station was sold. Someone here in La heard
- 6:10Speaker 2: I was a free agent, so they hired me, which
- 6:12Speaker 2: was cool. I was working in Vegas and in LA
- 6:16Speaker 2: at the same time, driving back and forth on the
- 6:18Speaker 2: weekend and doing all that. That's a commute yeah, that's
- 6:21Speaker 2: a commute. Yeah, so, I mean it was cool, but honestly,
- 6:23Speaker 2: I'm very thankful for it, because when you get a
- 6:25Speaker 2: great opportunity after you've been f and up, you really
- 6:28Speaker 2: appreciate the opportunity. And so I just really dedicated myself
- 6:31Speaker 2: to doing the best I could in radio man, And
- 6:33Speaker 2: I've been really super lucky in that regard. Produce shows
- 6:36Speaker 2: for Snoop and Iced Tea and Quick, also work you know,
- 6:39Speaker 2: cover the Dodgers and Lakers for a decade, Able to
- 6:42Speaker 2: work with Nike and Kobe Bryant releasing all his shoes
- 6:44Speaker 2: and doing a bunch of events with him. And yeah,
- 6:47Speaker 2: it's just I've been really really lucky. As I mentioned,
- 6:50Speaker 2: married for twenty years and a month i'll be married.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Not my first marriage though.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Really yeah, very much like I have a lot of
- 7:00Speaker 1: parallel and writing stuff down. We got to know each other.
- 7:03Speaker 1: It was really interesting how much parallel from career track
- 7:07Speaker 1: to different like things that we did, like in our
- 7:09Speaker 1: come up in the career, things that maybe we got into,
- 7:12Speaker 1: uh kids and you know, just kind of the same
- 7:14Speaker 1: general what he was a bad kid too. I've not
- 7:18Speaker 1: not like I mean not stuff.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Like that, but yeah, but anyway, Yeah, so I mean,
- 7:23Speaker 2: you know, I think that you know, that marriage was
- 7:26Speaker 2: just one of those ones that I tried to do
- 7:27Speaker 2: right by her blah blah blah, early twenty four, twenty five,
- 7:33Speaker 2: you know, kind of that area. Yeah, so no kids
- 7:37Speaker 2: from that marriage. She was awesome and it was real cool.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Split and she's doing her thing. I'm doing mine. Yeah,
- 7:45Speaker 2: And to now I have, like I said, two kids,
- 7:46Speaker 2: I got three dogs. And do you wanted more fun facts?
- 7:51Speaker 1: Oh? No, we just wanted to get kind of like
- 7:52Speaker 1: a like a general life start.
- 7:53Speaker 2: We have.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Then the other questions. There's nine more questions. That's the
- 7:56Speaker 1: big kind of like set up, kind of get a
- 7:58Speaker 1: general overview, and then we come back with the other questions.
- 8:01Speaker 1: They're more like kind of like we do with the
- 8:03Speaker 1: guests when they come in, you know, kind of more
- 8:05Speaker 1: the rapid fire kind of thing. But if you have
- 8:07Speaker 1: a follow up question for Jeff that you'd like to
- 8:09Speaker 1: have answered, you can hit us up on the text
- 8:12Speaker 1: over to two to ninety seven and we'll get into
- 8:14Speaker 1: some other questions as we get to know Jeff g better.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Next here on the Woody Show.
- 8:18Speaker 2: You Got the Cocaine.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Well, we're getting to know, Jeff g asking him questions
- 8:28Speaker 1: from that team of researchers, the husband and wife psychologists
- 8:31Speaker 1: who did that thing back like the late nineties. IF
- 8:34Speaker 1: published a whole paper on it about these experiments where
- 8:37Speaker 1: they had strangers asking each other's sets of questions that
- 8:40Speaker 1: was designed to foster intimacy. And it just looks, whether,
- 8:44Speaker 1: you know, these two strangers could be you know, compatible
- 8:49Speaker 1: with each other, and they end up falling in love
- 8:51Speaker 1: with each other just by answering this specific set of
- 8:54Speaker 1: thirty six personal questions, and each intended to become increasingly probing,
- 9:00Speaker 1: you know, and it worked, and it were They write
- 9:02Speaker 1: a whole thing about it in New York Times.
- 9:03Speaker 2: To an article about it it led.
- 9:05Speaker 1: To probing, Yeah, it did.
- 9:07Speaker 2: It did.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Like we're giving him a bunch of different questions here,
- 9:10Speaker 1: there are thirty six of them. We didn't we're not
- 9:12Speaker 1: getting to all thirty six. But he answered the big
- 9:15Speaker 1: one where we said, hey, man, tell tell your life
- 9:19Speaker 1: story and as much detail as possible, and we gave
- 9:21Speaker 1: him three minutes. We want a little longer than that.
- 9:22Speaker 1: But we got to know Jeff a little bit, a
- 9:24Speaker 1: little background on jep sor right here we go. You ready,
- 9:27Speaker 1: for the rest of the questions here. All right, So
- 9:29Speaker 1: next one, if you could change anything about the way
- 9:31Speaker 1: you were raised, what would it be?
- 9:32Speaker 2: Oh, that's so easy, and that'd be such an f up.
- 9:34Speaker 2: When I was younger, yeah, put my mom through a
- 9:36Speaker 2: bunch of unnecessary stress, right like yeah, yeah, And I mean,
- 9:40Speaker 2: you know, when you're young, you're trying to figure it out,
- 9:41Speaker 2: trying to find yourself and you know, dealing with the
- 9:44Speaker 2: no dad, step dad all that stuff. You're just trying
- 9:46Speaker 2: to figure it out, and unfortunately figured it out in
- 9:48Speaker 2: all the wrong ways. And I was dumb, So you know,
- 9:52Speaker 2: I wouldn't put her through that now being a parent, Like,
- 9:56Speaker 2: God bless her for dealing with me. I don't know
- 9:57Speaker 2: how I stayed in there so long in that house.
- 10:00Speaker 1: And then how did things go with your stepdad? Do
- 10:03Speaker 1: you guys have a Yeah, we're great. Yeah, he's awesome man,
- 10:05Speaker 1: and we talk all the time. Everything's really cool. Unfortunately
- 10:08Speaker 1: he's getting older now. Yeah, he has Alzheimer's and stuff
- 10:11Speaker 1: and it sucks. But he's a good dude.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Man. I give m a lot of credit. It's not
- 10:14Speaker 2: easily taking on somebody else's kids.
- 10:15Speaker 1: And they're still together.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Yeah, they're still together. Yeah, all right.
- 10:18Speaker 1: I Question number three for what in your life do
- 10:20Speaker 1: you feel most grateful?
- 10:22Speaker 2: Oh? Super easy. My family, My kids. Man, I'm so
- 10:25Speaker 2: proud of him. They're awesome. They're good kids that are
- 10:27Speaker 2: opposite of me. It's just great. They are very very
- 10:31Speaker 2: good kids. And of course my wife too. Family. That's
- 10:33Speaker 2: number one and most thankful and most grateful.
- 10:35Speaker 1: For Question number four for Jeff G. When did you
- 10:40Speaker 1: last cry in front of another person or by yourself? Uh?
- 10:46Speaker 2: Probably when I dropped my kid off at college and
- 10:49Speaker 2: we're flying back because my wife was just a wreck.
- 10:52Speaker 2: So I'm trying to console her and then I start crying,
- 10:55Speaker 2: and then everyone on the plane is staring at us,
- 10:57Speaker 2: like what they have is going on?
- 10:58Speaker 1: Yeah, my wife about this kind of stuff, but we
- 11:01Speaker 1: can't imagine anything other than joy.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Oh there's some joy there. But yeah, I mean I'm
- 11:05Speaker 2: trying to console her, and you know it is when
- 11:07Speaker 2: you know, when someone yawns, you yahn. Yeah, So that
- 11:10Speaker 2: was kind of the things I was crying too. Yeah.
- 11:12Speaker 1: Yeah. Question number five, do you have a secret hunch
- 11:16Speaker 1: about how you'll die?
- 11:18Speaker 2: Man? Uh? Not really, I don't really, I've never really
- 11:22Speaker 2: thought about it.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Great things about it all the time.
- 11:25Speaker 2: I don't I feel like if I die, die, you know,
- 11:28Speaker 2: I mean, it is what it is. I've had a
- 11:29Speaker 2: great life, very interesting life, so I you know, I
- 11:31Speaker 2: have no problem with it. Hopefully it's during sex that
- 11:34Speaker 2: would be kind of awesome.
- 11:35Speaker 1: I mean, why.
- 11:37Speaker 2: Not, right, I mean, doing something you love.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Let's hope, share an embarrassing moment in your life. This
- 11:44Speaker 1: is the question I think Gina Grad's been the most
- 11:45Speaker 1: excited about Question number six. Share it in an embarrassing
- 11:49Speaker 1: moment in your life.
- 11:50Speaker 2: And I will not disappoint you, Gene with this one.
- 11:53Speaker 2: So one time, when I first started radio, I did
- 11:56Speaker 2: have a girlfriend at the time, right, and she probably
- 11:58Speaker 2: lived I don't forty miles away or so, so we
- 12:00Speaker 2: didn't see each other a lot. And she actually had
- 12:02Speaker 2: a kid, so she was very deep into what she
- 12:04Speaker 2: was doing and I was just starting radio and club
- 12:07Speaker 2: gigs and the whole thing and having a great time.
- 12:09Speaker 2: And yes I was cheating because I was a pos
- 12:11Speaker 2: you know what I mean. So and she was really
- 12:14Speaker 2: nice at the time because I had an apartment where
- 12:16Speaker 2: I lived, and she actually had a bunch of furniture
- 12:18Speaker 2: and stuff, so she let me you know, have her
- 12:20Speaker 2: furniture that she wasn't using that was in storage. So
- 12:23Speaker 2: she basically, you know, furnished the apartment. And here I
- 12:26Speaker 2: am cheating, you know, like an all right on that furniture. Yeah,
- 12:29Speaker 2: on that furniture. So one night I was out working
- 12:32Speaker 2: at a club, had the side piece with me, figure
- 12:34Speaker 2: to bring her home, let's have a good time. And
- 12:37Speaker 2: when I got there, I opened the door and all
- 12:39Speaker 2: the furniture was gone. Yeah, the furniture was gone. And
- 12:44Speaker 2: she left me like the nastiest note about being a
- 12:47Speaker 2: cheater and all that stuff. And so not only not
- 12:51Speaker 2: only you know, not only was all my furniture gone,
- 12:55Speaker 2: but you know, I didn't get any action that night.
- 12:57Speaker 2: It was horrible. The funny part of it about that, though,
- 13:00Speaker 2: is that side Piece and I we we kind of
- 13:02Speaker 2: went out a little bit after that, so you know,
- 13:04Speaker 2: we remain cool and we still kind of like keep
- 13:07Speaker 2: in light contact, and well we still laugh about that
- 13:10Speaker 2: moment like all the time. She's I can't believe we
- 13:12Speaker 2: walked in and there was nothing in there. Bro the fridge,
- 13:15Speaker 2: the couch, like everything, God, the fridge. Well, I mean,
- 13:20Speaker 2: you know, I don't know, I don't she must have
- 13:23Speaker 2: stopped in. I mean, did she have opts? Like, how
- 13:25Speaker 2: does she find out she's at the club? I'm sure
- 13:28Speaker 2: this is pre Yeah, I don't know. She must have
- 13:30Speaker 2: been stalking it for a while and doing some research.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Yeah, damn, damn, that's a great story.
- 13:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I deserved.
- 13:37Speaker 1: It again after that. By the way, for the record,
- 13:41Speaker 1: question number seven, getting to know Jeff G what if
- 13:44Speaker 1: anything is too serious to be joked about?
- 13:47Speaker 2: Uh, only I can make fun of my kids. You can't.
- 13:51Speaker 2: I tease them as much as I can. I give
- 13:53Speaker 2: them a hard time about stuff, but yeah, they're not
- 13:55Speaker 2: your kids, so they don't make fun of them.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Yeah, like make fun of them? Like what do you mean?
- 13:58Speaker 2: I don't know, Just like I don't judge them or
- 14:00Speaker 2: you know whatever, bighead, I don't know, you know what
- 14:04Speaker 2: I mean? Like, only I can make fun of them.
- 14:06Speaker 2: My kids are off limits, Okay. Yeah, that's why I
- 14:08Speaker 2: don't put them in post them in anything. You know.
- 14:10Speaker 1: It's like, yeah, your business said that, you know, like
- 14:13Speaker 1: we signed up for this job. You know, we signed
- 14:16Speaker 1: up to be you know, out there and commented on
- 14:20Speaker 1: our business and thing and things like that. They didn't
- 14:22Speaker 1: necessarily sign up for that. Now you can tell a
- 14:24Speaker 1: story from the you know, perspective of a parent.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Yes, and I share that stuff all the time because.
- 14:30Speaker 1: That's stuff that you know. People like the There there's comfort,
- 14:33Speaker 1: comfort in knowing that you know other people go through
- 14:36Speaker 1: the same kind of stuff as parents shared experience.
- 14:39Speaker 4: Yeah like an idiot.
- 14:40Speaker 2: Yeah, like I said, I could call them that all day.
- 14:42Speaker 1: But yeah, yeah, all right. Question number eight, your house
- 14:48Speaker 1: containing everything you own catches fire. Now, after saving your
- 14:51Speaker 1: loved ones, pats, all that kind of stuff, okay, you
- 14:53Speaker 1: have time to safely make one final dash to save
- 14:58Speaker 1: any one item. What would it be and why they.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Would be pictures? Pictures of my grandmother and my sister. Now,
- 15:07Speaker 2: my sister passed away when she was six months old,
- 15:10Speaker 2: and my grandma died during COVID and as I mentioned,
- 15:12Speaker 2: she raised me. I didn't even get to go to
- 15:14Speaker 2: her funeral, which completely sucked. But I have a printed
- 15:18Speaker 2: picture of me and my grandma that I love, love,
- 15:20Speaker 2: love with me and my kids. And then I have
- 15:23Speaker 2: a picture of my sister when she was just a baby.
- 15:25Speaker 2: And they're kind of like afrenda, which is like, you know,
- 15:28Speaker 2: the offering, like you put that you've all seen Coco,
- 15:31Speaker 2: so yeah, so it's so it's there with some other
- 15:33Speaker 2: stuff from my dad and a bunch of other things.
- 15:35Speaker 2: So that would be the first thing I grabbed those
- 15:36Speaker 2: two pictures because I don't have digital copies of them.
- 15:39Speaker 2: How old were I wasn't even born yet. Actually, yeah,
- 15:42Speaker 2: she she was older than me. So, but I've heard,
- 15:45Speaker 2: you know, a ton of stuff from my mom and
- 15:47Speaker 2: to me, she's like my guardian angel. Yeah, for sure,
- 15:50Speaker 2: she watches over.
- 15:51Speaker 1: You should get those digitized. Considering that's the answer to
- 15:56Speaker 1: that question.
- 15:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm lad you can take something else.
- 15:59Speaker 1: Then you could do that, like today.
- 16:01Speaker 2: Maybe Tyler will get a tattoo of them.
- 16:05Speaker 1: All right. Idea question number nine for Jeff g as
- 16:09Speaker 1: we get to know them. If a crystal ball could
- 16:11Speaker 1: tell you the truth about yourself, your life, the future,
- 16:14Speaker 1: anything else, what would you want to know?
- 16:17Speaker 2: I want to know where I'm going to retire, like
- 16:20Speaker 2: where specifically? Right? I don't think it'll be here in
- 16:23Speaker 2: the US, like my wife and I have talked about it,
- 16:25Speaker 2: but so I wonder where I'd end up after this
- 16:27Speaker 2: is all done.
- 16:28Speaker 1: But just the top of your mind, you said, you know,
- 16:30Speaker 1: not in the United States, So.
- 16:31Speaker 2: Where Portugal, Italy, somewhere like that, maybe South America. I
- 16:37Speaker 2: don't know, like I don't. We don't have like a
- 16:39Speaker 2: set place. All we know is, like I think, we
- 16:41Speaker 2: want to just do something different. And I won't go
- 16:43Speaker 2: on house Hunters.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Well, house Hunters International both it's the worst one.
- 16:50Speaker 2: It is.
- 16:52Speaker 3: Yeah, well they buy stuff, but it's just not to
- 16:54Speaker 3: our standards.
- 16:56Speaker 1: No, no, no, all right. Question number ten ten questions
- 17:00Speaker 1: with Jef g. If you kid have anyone in the
- 17:03Speaker 1: world as a dinner guest, who would it be.
- 17:07Speaker 2: I would pick Adam Sandler. And I know you could
- 17:09Speaker 2: say everybody out of everybody, yeah, why not someone that
- 17:11Speaker 2: could teach you how to be rich, like Warren Buffett
- 17:13Speaker 2: or whatever. But Adam Sandler in my house household is
- 17:18Speaker 2: the goat because I mean, I think of all of
- 17:20Speaker 2: our movie nights and all the things I did with
- 17:21Speaker 2: my kids and you know whatever, and we're always watching
- 17:24Speaker 2: Adam Sandler and all the movies that he did, and
- 17:26Speaker 2: it's just the laughs and the sense of humor. And
- 17:28Speaker 2: the great part is I wouldn't have to get dressed
- 17:30Speaker 2: up for dinner because he and we could talk sports,
- 17:33Speaker 2: which is awesome, and he just seems like a really
- 17:35Speaker 2: good dude, man, and if you you know, again, I
- 17:38Speaker 2: would like to have all the advice on how to
- 17:40Speaker 2: get rich, but I'd like to laugh more and you know,
- 17:42Speaker 2: and just thank him for all the great memories that
- 17:45Speaker 2: he provided for our family.
- 17:46Speaker 1: Cool.
- 17:46Speaker 2: I know it's funny, but.
- 17:48Speaker 4: What's your favorite Adam Sandler?
- 17:50Speaker 2: So many I think just go with it. We like
- 17:53Speaker 2: best because yeah, it's just funny.
- 17:55Speaker 4: We're we're a Billy Madison people.
- 17:57Speaker 2: That's a great movie.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Follow up question. You talked about some of the stuff
- 18:01Speaker 1: you got into when you were a kid, like, you know,
- 18:03Speaker 1: get in trouble stuff. What was the worst trouble you've
- 18:05Speaker 1: ever been in?
- 18:06Speaker 2: Well? That was it?
- 18:07Speaker 1: That was Was that just the bottom? Was that like
- 18:09Speaker 1: the rock bottom moment? Or is that just like the
- 18:11Speaker 1: final straw? That the worst trouble? Yeah, for the worst trouble.
- 18:14Speaker 2: Having your mom drop you off at you know, at
- 18:17Speaker 2: jail sucks, you know what I mean? Like, yeah, so
- 18:23Speaker 2: how to turn myself in? Okay? So yeah, so you know,
- 18:26Speaker 2: so she and she said, figure it out, figure out
- 18:29Speaker 2: how to.
- 18:29Speaker 5: Get them on your own? Yeah, so was the cops.
- 18:33Speaker 5: Because so I had to turn myself in once for
- 18:36Speaker 5: like this assault charge.
- 18:37Speaker 2: I was getting and then they read me.
- 18:39Speaker 5: Yeah, I remember when I I got in that fight
- 18:42Speaker 5: guy's nose. So the cops were coming to my house
- 18:47Speaker 5: looking for me, and my mom told me, so then
- 18:48Speaker 5: I had to go turn myself in and then they
- 18:50Speaker 5: read me my rights and did all that.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Stuff the process.
- 18:53Speaker 5: But were they looking for you, Like, how do you
- 18:55Speaker 5: know to turn yourself someone that? Yeah, someone that said like, yeah,
- 18:58Speaker 5: I don't remember who it was. To be honest with you,
- 19:00Speaker 5: I try to block out of stuff possible, but yeah,
- 19:03Speaker 5: someone Yeah, someone kind of said, hey, you know, were
- 19:05Speaker 5: either going to come pick you up or you could
- 19:06Speaker 5: turn yourself in.
- 19:07Speaker 2: It was probably the sheriffs at that point.
- 19:08Speaker 4: So yeah, did you have to turn your head and cough?
- 19:12Speaker 2: Yeah? I did a fit A little bit of that, Yeah,
- 19:14Speaker 2: a little bit of that. Yeah.
- 19:16Speaker 1: You see stuff on TV and you're like, is that real?
- 19:18Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 19:18Speaker 1: Did they really do stuff like that?
- 19:20Speaker 2: That wasn't fun? Yeah?
- 19:21Speaker 5: At least I lucked out because my friends videotaped it
- 19:23Speaker 5: and they showed that the guy hit me first, So, oh,
- 19:26Speaker 5: good for you.
- 19:26Speaker 2: I got out of it.
- 19:28Speaker 1: So you said you had a bunch of different jobs
- 19:30Speaker 1: and things, but say, radio hadn't worked out for you,
- 19:34Speaker 1: what do you think you would have ended up doing.
- 19:36Speaker 2: I always wanted to be a teacher for some teacher,
- 19:39Speaker 2: I don't know, like I liked I like history. Yeah,
- 19:41Speaker 2: I like history and stuff like that. I could probably
- 19:43Speaker 2: be a decent pe coach. Yeah, if they take overweight ones.
- 19:48Speaker 2: I looked overweight, but yeah, probably a teacher. I actually
- 19:51Speaker 2: did like some stuff in college. Took some precursor courses
- 19:55Speaker 2: for that.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Yeah, Sea Best Sets is really easy.
- 19:57Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, that's why I heard Yeah any hate?
- 20:01Speaker 1: Yeah right, there's really any other follow up questions for Jeff.
- 20:05Speaker 5: Jeff, like, I know you had a relationship, a loose
- 20:10Speaker 5: relationship with Kobe Bryant, and like did that start, like
- 20:13Speaker 5: right when he moved to Los Angeles?
- 20:15Speaker 2: Like how did that even happen? No, it happened through
- 20:18Speaker 2: a great friend of mine, jac who works for who
- 20:21Speaker 2: worked for Nike, and we kind of became friends. And
- 20:25Speaker 2: he would do like his shoe drop, so the Kobe
- 20:28Speaker 2: five or six or whatever shoes would drop, and they
- 20:31Speaker 2: would do like a debut and someone would hoist it.
- 20:34Speaker 2: And that ended up being me for quite a few
- 20:36Speaker 2: which was pretty awesome. And then I did some of
- 20:37Speaker 2: his other events, like his thirty thousand points celebration at
- 20:40Speaker 2: Venice Beach and just like the nicest human being ever.
- 20:43Speaker 2: And his family was just the nicest human beings ever.
- 20:45Speaker 2: And we you know, once when I was covering the team,
- 20:48Speaker 2: she introduced me to him and we would, you know,
- 20:50Speaker 2: have conversations. We talk about everything but basketball, right, We
- 20:53Speaker 2: talk about kids and you know, in soccer and everything else.
- 20:56Speaker 2: And that's kind of how we bonded. And you know,
- 20:59Speaker 2: we built a little trust there and had a good
- 21:00Speaker 2: working relationship. But he was he was great man, Just
- 21:02Speaker 2: a great dude of pro sent flowers and my wife
- 21:06Speaker 2: had my first baby, like, you know, just a good dude. Man,
- 21:09Speaker 2: just a really good dude. I miss him a lot.
- 21:10Speaker 2: Man that was tough.
- 21:11Speaker 3: This has nothing to do with Kobe, but just a
- 21:14Speaker 3: behind behind the scenes follow up question. You seem like
- 21:18Speaker 3: a total manly man. So when and why and how
- 21:22Speaker 3: did your nuclear obsession with hand sanitizer starts? You do
- 21:28Speaker 3: it everything the microphone, and I did wanting to know this.
- 21:33Speaker 2: For a while.
- 21:33Speaker 1: Okay, I haven't noticed that yet.
- 21:35Speaker 2: Oh yeah, it's really bad. It seems like something you
- 21:38Speaker 2: would not have about I have OCD for sure, Like
- 21:41Speaker 2: that's a guarantee self, you know, diagnosed of course, web.
- 21:45Speaker 2: But what happened was is my mom probably about fourteen
- 21:50Speaker 2: years ago, had a kidney transplant, so her kidneys went out,
- 21:56Speaker 2: and when she started to go through all that stuff,
- 21:59Speaker 2: she started doing that. And then every time I would
- 22:02Speaker 2: go visit her, she'd be like, make sure you do that,
- 22:04Speaker 2: Make sure you do that, make sure you do that.
- 22:05Speaker 2: So I kind of got you know, how doctors do it,
- 22:07Speaker 2: probably like with audio. Yeah, if you've watched in a
- 22:11Speaker 2: pit or whatever, so I've kind of you know, when
- 22:14Speaker 2: that happened. I just kept doing it and doing it
- 22:16Speaker 2: and doing it, doing it and doing it, and I just, yeah,
- 22:19Speaker 2: your hands are bleeding, I know, so drunk they're actually
- 22:21Speaker 2: soft creak, you can hold them in.
- 22:24Speaker 4: What what was your favorite party? Favorite to partake in?
- 22:27Speaker 2: I never really did.
- 22:28Speaker 4: Oh you didn't get hired?
- 22:29Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, I know definitely. I only spoke
- 22:33Speaker 2: weed and drank, and I really do hardly either of
- 22:36Speaker 2: those now.
- 22:36Speaker 4: And do your kids know about your past?
- 22:38Speaker 2: Some of them, some of it they didn't know. They
- 22:41Speaker 2: didn't know I had another wife, so they don't now.
- 22:44Speaker 1: I never had reason to this day they didn't know.
- 22:47Speaker 2: Really, I just never really had a reason.
- 22:49Speaker 1: To tell them.
- 22:50Speaker 5: I do have a question though, what we talked about
- 22:52Speaker 5: you having a previous wife, When and how did you
- 22:55Speaker 5: meet your current wife.
- 22:56Speaker 2: My brother had a party of like this thirtieth there
- 23:00Speaker 2: or something I remember, and she went with She went
- 23:04Speaker 2: with her friend who happened to work with my brother,
- 23:06Speaker 2: and that's how we met. Yeah, she had no idea
- 23:09Speaker 2: what I did. She had She could care less. You know,
- 23:11Speaker 2: we just kind of vibed and everything was cool.
- 23:13Speaker 4: I have to ask, because of your previous story, were
- 23:15Speaker 4: you married at the time.
- 23:16Speaker 1: No. Yeah, I learned my lessons and she knows about
- 23:22Speaker 1: the the other chick with like the apartment, the like
- 23:25Speaker 1: things getting cleared out as far like you said, like
- 23:27Speaker 1: you still keep in touch with her from time to time.
- 23:29Speaker 2: Yeah, but light stuff like I think we follow each
- 23:31Speaker 2: other on Instagram and she's just like, hey, I hope
- 23:33Speaker 2: you're doing well whatever, blah blah blah, congrats, you know,
- 23:36Speaker 2: like and stuff like that.
- 23:36Speaker 1: But yeah, my wife would cut that out.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:38Speaker 4: I was going to ask you how your wife feels
- 23:40Speaker 4: about that.
- 23:40Speaker 2: I don't know. She's very secure, Like she doesn't really
- 23:44Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know she knows a lover man. Yeah,
- 23:46Speaker 2: I'm not doing it anymore. I'm washed now, you know,
- 23:50Speaker 2: I'm super washed. Like I'm not going anywhere, man, you
- 23:53Speaker 2: can find me. I'm at worker at home. That's it.
- 23:56Speaker 1: I'm looking at the list of the full thirty six
- 23:57Speaker 1: questions and things, and one that sticks out that I think,
- 24:00Speaker 1: think this, this sounds like something Greg would do. I
- 24:02Speaker 1: don't know if we've asked this question to any of
- 24:05Speaker 1: the ten questions people. But before making a telephone call,
- 24:09Speaker 1: do you ever rehearse what you're going to say and why?
- 24:13Speaker 1: I bet you Greg does.
- 24:14Speaker 3: Yeah, if I have to make the call, I will
- 24:17Speaker 3: avoid ordering dinners if it requires a phone call, I'll
- 24:21Speaker 3: do anything to.
- 24:22Speaker 1: Avoid Before making a telephone call, do you rehearse what
- 24:25Speaker 1: you are going to say and why?
- 24:27Speaker 2: Sometimes? Yeah? Sometimes, I guess sometimes when I get nervous,
- 24:30Speaker 2: I'll just talk a lot or whatever. So like I
- 24:32Speaker 2: just try to get my word straight, you know, just
- 24:34Speaker 2: try to get my word straight.
- 24:36Speaker 1: All right, Well there is Jeff g Yeah, I'm surprised questions.
- 24:41Speaker 1: All right, we're gonna take a quick break more. What
- 24:43Speaker 1: he shows next will be right back
