- 0:08Speaker 1: wide receivers. Now in motion is Bumpas. Left to right,
- 0:11Speaker 1: Julius Jones. A single setback Matt Pumpfecks looking at the
- 0:14Speaker 1: goal line, he throws it into the end zone. Touchdown,
- 0:17Speaker 1: Saint Hawks. It's Michael Bumpas with a diving catching the
- 0:21Speaker 1: end zone. Our ten yard touchdown reception for Bumpus and
- 0:25Speaker 1: the kid out of Washington State has found himself a
- 0:29Speaker 1: place on this team. Powered by Seahawks dot Com. What
- 0:34Speaker 1: on swelves. This is Hog Talk Preview edition Week eleven.
- 0:37Speaker 1: The Seahawks looked to bounce back and avoid a three
- 0:40Speaker 1: game losing streak for the first time in Russell's career
- 0:44Speaker 1: against the Cardinals this weekend. The Cardinals are coming into town.
- 0:47Speaker 1: But before we get into that, here's Natson Cholby with
- 0:50Speaker 1: the injury updates. Thanks bump Well, It's been a rough
- 0:53Speaker 1: couple of weeks for the Seahawks on the injury front.
- 0:55Speaker 1: They've been down about five starters each of the past
- 0:58Speaker 1: two weeks. Still no real update on Shaquille Griffin. He's
- 1:01Speaker 1: gonna get on the field this week and we're have
- 1:03Speaker 1: to go from there. Starting center, Eaton Postic remains in
- 1:06Speaker 1: concussion protocol, and after finally making his return, special team's
- 1:10Speaker 1: captain Nico Thorpe will be out again with a core injury.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Real bummer there, since we know how much he means
- 1:15Speaker 1: this team in that locker room. Now, the guy who
- 1:18Speaker 1: stepped in for Eaton posted Kyle Fuller he's dealing with
- 1:20Speaker 1: an ankle injury, but Pete Carroll hopes still get him
- 1:23Speaker 1: back on Thursday night. If he's unable to go, Jamarco
- 1:26Speaker 1: Jones would step in at center. However, a new injury
- 1:29Speaker 1: popped up in the game last week, and now was
- 1:31Speaker 1: Tyler Lockett. Yeah, he's got a bit of a niche
- 1:35Speaker 1: brain and generally he's already had a checked out in
- 1:37Speaker 1: MRI and all that kind of stuff. So he's a
- 1:39Speaker 1: little bit discomfort, a little bit swallowing today, But it's
- 1:42Speaker 1: not a serious knee injury, so we'll look to see
- 1:44Speaker 1: how he does day to day and take it till Thursday.
- 1:47Speaker 1: BEKAA also gave some encouraging news on the running backs,
- 1:50Speaker 1: Carlos Hide and Chris Carson. I'm told that Carlos is
- 1:53Speaker 1: going to go today. In our work, Chris is working
- 1:57Speaker 1: to get it back. He's trying to make it. Carlos
- 1:59Speaker 1: is a little but ahead of him now and so
- 2:02Speaker 1: we'll see how it goes. I can't tell you what's
- 2:04Speaker 1: gonna happen Thursday night yet, but both those guys are
- 2:07Speaker 1: trying hard this week to get back. And lastly, Jamal Adams,
- 2:11Speaker 1: who suffered his shoulder injury, had to go back in
- 2:13Speaker 1: the locker room, came out finished the game against the
- 2:16Speaker 1: Rams with playing with essentially one arm, and according to
- 2:19Speaker 1: head coach Pete Carroll, Jamal will do everything in his
- 2:22Speaker 1: power and make it back. He says he's playing, he's
- 2:25Speaker 1: ready to go. He got banged up pretty good. He
- 2:28Speaker 1: played really with one arm for the most part in
- 2:31Speaker 1: the game. Ended a marvelous job of getting through it.
- 2:35Speaker 1: There was a couple of plays he couldn't make that
- 2:37Speaker 1: he wished you could have, but but it was just
- 2:39Speaker 1: because of his arm he played or shoulder. He played
- 2:43Speaker 1: really hard and got after it. And before we get going,
- 2:45Speaker 1: make sure to stay current with all that's happening in
- 2:47Speaker 1: the Pacific Northwest at min Northwest dot com, your source

- 2:59Speaker 1: The Ardinals the rematch back at Century Link Field. Who's Next,
- 3:04Speaker 1: Who's next? Who's Next? The Arizona Cardinals are next. They
- 3:12Speaker 1: are six and three, standing on top of the NFCA West.
- 3:16Speaker 1: There in the first place, we're familiar with these dudes.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Loss of the Lions, loss of the Panthers, loss of
- 3:21Speaker 1: the Bills, excuse me the Dolphins, but they beat the
- 3:23Speaker 1: Bills last week and one and had one of the
- 3:26Speaker 1: most remarkable plays I've ever seen in my life. If
- 3:30Speaker 1: you're not familiar with what went down, we'll get you
- 3:33Speaker 1: into it. But let's let's kind of set it up
- 3:36Speaker 1: before we get to that miraculous player, Tode Hopkins the
- 3:40Speaker 1: Arizona Cardinals and beat the Bills one of the best
- 3:42Speaker 1: plays ever. Like I just mentioned on the previous possession
- 3:44Speaker 1: of Bills were traveling twenty six to twenty three with
- 3:47Speaker 1: seconds remaining, josh Alan connects with Stefan Digs for the
- 3:51Speaker 1: go ahead touchdown second and one at the twenty one
- 3:55Speaker 1: the snaff Alan looks to his left Fire's left side
- 3:59Speaker 1: and go to the Steffins Mikes a catch touchdown, Buffalo
- 4:04Speaker 1: touchdown stepfind Digs catches the touchdown pass from Josh Allen
- 4:09Speaker 1: twenty one yards to go ahead touchdown, and it comes
- 4:12Speaker 1: with thirty four seconds left to play. Thirty four seconds
- 4:16Speaker 1: left to play bagel of thirty two twenty six. But
- 4:19Speaker 1: you just can't count out these Cardinals. After a couple
- 4:22Speaker 1: of big completions, it was first and ten from the
- 4:24Speaker 1: Buffalo forty three yard lane with eleven seconds remaining. Now,
- 4:27Speaker 1: Typically in this situation, you try to get one more
- 4:30Speaker 1: play before tossing that thing to the end zone. But
- 4:32Speaker 1: Murray was fleshed outside of the pocket and had no
- 4:35Speaker 1: choice but to close his eyes, make a wish, then
- 4:38Speaker 1: throw it up to d Hopkins. Now the Bills dropped
- 4:40Speaker 1: two men back twenty five yards down field. Murray back
- 4:43Speaker 1: to throw, flushed out, rolling left in trouble, slips the tackle,
- 4:47Speaker 1: Gotta launch it. He does left side into the end zone,
- 4:50Speaker 1: jump ball and it is Is it caught? Is it cost?
- 4:54Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, it soun DeAndre Hopkins bought. He caught
- 4:58Speaker 1: it for a touchdown second lap. I can't believe it
- 5:02Speaker 1: you've gotta be joking me. Hopkins reaches up with three
- 5:07Speaker 1: defenders around him, he pulls it in and the Cardinals
- 5:10Speaker 1: lay at thirty two to thirty with a second lap.
- 5:15Speaker 1: You can't cover Duke. Hey man, that's just you see
- 5:21Speaker 1: both calls there. One was from the Bill's radio broadcast
- 5:24Speaker 1: and the other was Dave Pash and Ron Wolfley with
- 5:27Speaker 1: the Cardinals broadcast at just a tail of two different emotions. Brother,
- 5:30Speaker 1: I mean, you go up thirty four seconds, you think
- 5:32Speaker 1: the game's over. Stefon Diggs, it's a huge catch. You
- 5:35Speaker 1: got thirty four seconds knowing, Hey, you just can't give
- 5:38Speaker 1: up a touchdown. And man, that honest hand of God,
- 5:41Speaker 1: that was one of the best players I've ever seen,
- 5:43Speaker 1: the fact that he first of all, because you have
- 5:45Speaker 1: eleven seconds, you have one more play. That's not what
- 5:48Speaker 1: you're You don't need to throw it to the end
- 5:49Speaker 1: zone on that play. And Cliff Kingsbury spoke this week,
- 5:52Speaker 1: so that's not how they wanted it to go. The
- 5:55Speaker 1: first three wasn't there. Murray had to scramble outside the pocket,
- 5:58Speaker 1: and at that point the games you need to get
- 6:00Speaker 1: a quick play. That didn't happen. He literally throws it
- 6:03Speaker 1: to the end zone, gets knocked down, and because he's
- 6:06Speaker 1: so short, Kingsbrady said he couldn't see what's going on.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Immediately snapped his head back to the video board and
- 6:11Speaker 1: saw Hopkins come down with it. So Hopkins was worth
- 6:14Speaker 1: every penny in The Cardinals got him on the low.
- 6:17Speaker 1: I mean that was that was armed robbery. I don't
- 6:20Speaker 1: know what was going on with the Texans, but he
- 6:22Speaker 1: is a factor that we're gonna have to contend with
- 6:24Speaker 1: for a long time here in the NFC West. The
- 6:27Speaker 1: Arizona Cardinals are getting a return on their investment most definitely.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Now a lot of people say that was love. Yeah,
- 6:34Speaker 1: you need some luck. You need some luck. Got to
- 6:35Speaker 1: throw it up there, clothes you eys make a wish.
- 6:37Speaker 1: But Dee Hopkins got some mittens. He grabs that thing
- 6:40Speaker 1: out of the air. If there's a picture where I
- 6:42Speaker 1: saw Dee Hopkins. Now this might be the first time
- 6:45Speaker 1: I've seen Jordan logo gloves. I don't even know they
- 6:48Speaker 1: made those. You got Jordan logo gloves, You got a
- 6:51Speaker 1: Dida's reaching for, You got Nike gloves reaching for Jordan
- 6:55Speaker 1: brand y'all better get on your job and makes some
- 6:57Speaker 1: money play right there. Oh, you already know that's about
- 7:01Speaker 1: to be a commercial for a show like Jordan Rising.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Just abuff, Adidas, get out of here and I keep
- 7:05Speaker 1: trying to come back. I mean, that was unbelievable and bump.
- 7:08Speaker 1: Let's look at this team, man, So Seahawks Cardinals both
- 7:11Speaker 1: six and three. The thing that jumps out of me
- 7:13Speaker 1: with the Cardinals is how much their offense has approved
- 7:16Speaker 1: over the last couple weeks and since last time we
- 7:18Speaker 1: saw him. Total offense number one in the NFL now
- 7:21Speaker 1: ahead of the Seahawks were number three at four hundred
- 7:24Speaker 1: and twenty five yards per game. In their rushing attack,
- 7:27Speaker 1: it's a two headed monster with Murray and Drake Will
- 7:29Speaker 1: getting those guys in a man up. But they're running
- 7:32Speaker 1: the ball for one hundred and sixty eight yards per game.
- 7:34Speaker 1: So they're getting it done on offense, getting done on offense,
- 7:37Speaker 1: and their defense that's kind of went down a little bit.
- 7:39Speaker 1: So that's nice to see. In the Seahawks defense, it's
- 7:42Speaker 1: kind of well rising up a little bit. So there
- 7:45Speaker 1: we go. There, there's a positive there. We look at
- 7:47Speaker 1: their defense or total defense, they are ranked eighteenth. I
- 7:50Speaker 1: mean they got the Hawks rank thirty second total deadens.
- 7:52Speaker 1: But they got better in other areas, is what I mean.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Rush defense, they are sixteenth, the Hawks are four. Pass defense.
- 7:58Speaker 1: We know the Hawks struggle there that second, and the
- 8:01Speaker 1: Cardinals are twentieth. When it comes to allowing points, the
- 8:04Speaker 1: Hawks are now twenty eighth instead of dead last with
- 8:07Speaker 1: twenty nine given twenty nine and the Cardinals give them
- 8:09Speaker 1: twenty three. So same team, but they're changing a bit.
- 8:14Speaker 1: And that's football, that's the NFL. You're not gonna play
- 8:16Speaker 1: the exact same team you did the first time you
- 8:18Speaker 1: played the Hawks. That has some injuries for the most part,
- 8:21Speaker 1: the Cardinals have been fairly healthy, so they got they
- 8:24Speaker 1: got some luck on their side. They're main guys. Well,
- 8:26Speaker 1: Kenyan Drake is banged up still. Chase Edmans has come
- 8:29Speaker 1: in and played well for them. We all know what
- 8:30Speaker 1: d Hoppins can do. You mentioned it before we got
- 8:33Speaker 1: on here. Colin Murry might rush for a thousand yards
- 8:36Speaker 1: this year. You just might do it. So you gotta
- 8:39Speaker 1: contain that man. That's the head to head. Now, let's
- 8:43Speaker 1: learn about the history and know your history. No, your history,
- 8:47Speaker 1: all right, Well, the series record is twenty one twenty
- 8:50Speaker 1: one in one so about as dead even as possible,
- 8:53Speaker 1: even with a tie in there in. Since twenty sixteen,
- 8:56Speaker 1: the series is four four and one, so it's about
- 8:58Speaker 1: as even as you get. As you know, twelves, it's
- 9:01Speaker 1: been mainly the home team losing every matchup in this series.
- 9:06Speaker 1: The last meeting, obviously, it was a few weeks ago.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Seahawks lost a game that they're essentially dominating, lost in
- 9:11Speaker 1: overtime thirty seven thirty four, a tough loss that was
- 9:14Speaker 1: the first time the Cardinals had beat the Seahawks in
- 9:17Speaker 1: Arizona since twenty twelve. Russell Wilson's first career start. However,
- 9:22Speaker 1: despite the painful ending to the game, we got to
- 9:24Speaker 1: see one of the greatest performances by wide receiver in
- 9:26Speaker 1: club history and Tyler Lockett fifteen receptions, two hundred yards,
- 9:30Speaker 1: three touchdowns, and we got to see truly how fast
- 9:35Speaker 1: dk Metcalf is. First and goal, Russell takes a shotgun
- 9:38Speaker 1: snap Carson, Oh no, it's picked off. Going the other way.
- 9:42Speaker 1: It's Bouddha Banker down the nearest sidelines. Nobody's gonna catch
- 9:45Speaker 1: him unless Metcalf can. He is sprinting, he is running,
- 9:48Speaker 1: He dis and he catches him. DK Metcalf catches Buddha
- 9:52Speaker 1: Baker on a little dump pass into the right flat
- 9:55Speaker 1: and Russell never saw him and he steals the ball away. Now,
- 10:00Speaker 1: when I was growing up, we used to run somebody down.
- 10:04Speaker 1: He said, Man, you got hawked. And it's funny how
- 10:06Speaker 1: it all it all comes together. Now DK hawked Bude Banker.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Bude Banker gave us a love and say, man, I
- 10:12Speaker 1: can't believe DK ran me down like that. Big us
- 10:15Speaker 1: show some respect. One of the greatest hustle plays of
- 10:18Speaker 1: all time, no question about it. I think I think
- 10:20Speaker 1: we realized some of those guys out there that want
- 10:23Speaker 1: to specialize in just one sport, go out there and
- 10:25Speaker 1: run some track. Go out there, getting the room and
- 10:27Speaker 1: run some track, play some moves because you can see
- 10:29Speaker 1: DK Metcalf as he was just striding out. If you
- 10:31Speaker 1: don't have any kind of track experience in your background,
- 10:34Speaker 1: you're not catching him like that. You could just telling
- 10:36Speaker 1: his stride, the way, his hands removing, getting them legs up.
- 10:38Speaker 1: So that was great to see for sure. Now, Bump,
- 10:42Speaker 1: we gotta figure out what's going on in the West,
- 10:44Speaker 1: because man, things have changed since the last time we played.
- 10:52Speaker 1: And the Seahawks, where the NFC West champs again. What's
- 10:55Speaker 1: the word in the West? On Hawk talk? The word
- 11:01Speaker 1: in the West. They're sitting at the third spot. They
- 11:05Speaker 1: are tied with the Airs of the Cardinals at six
- 11:07Speaker 1: and three the Rams of six and three, but Hawks
- 11:10Speaker 1: don't have the tiebreaker there. They've already lost to the Cardinals.
- 11:13Speaker 1: They've lost to the Rams. They had the advantage there,
- 11:15Speaker 1: so that makes this game even more important. We know
- 11:18Speaker 1: the forty nine ers are at the bottom in the
- 11:20Speaker 1: dungeon in the basement, looking up at everybody, hoping that
- 11:24Speaker 1: things fall apart. But I don't see that happening. Now
- 11:26Speaker 1: we know what happened with the Rams and the Cardinals.
- 11:29Speaker 1: Forty nine ers. Man, they didn't play bad against the Saints.
- 11:33Speaker 1: He jumped up to a ten o league and I'm
- 11:35Speaker 1: checking the scores. I'm like, okay, forty Niners, let's make
- 11:38Speaker 1: it interesting. But then, as usual, the better team just
- 11:41Speaker 1: grinds you down. The team that makes the less least
- 11:44Speaker 1: mistakes grind you down. And they ended up losing twenty
- 11:47Speaker 1: seven to thirteen. But this just lets you know you
- 11:51Speaker 1: can't sleep on teams. The Niners got guys who are
- 11:54Speaker 1: getting paid they are prepping. It's not like they're just
- 11:56Speaker 1: gonna roll over and dive. They are still trying to
- 11:58Speaker 1: win football games. They put up a ray fighting it's
- 12:00Speaker 1: a really solid Saints team. Yeah, no question about it.
- 12:02Speaker 1: I mean, the Saints have really came on strong the
- 12:05Speaker 1: last couple of weeks in their out for seven and
- 12:07Speaker 1: two record. A lot of people think that they might
- 12:09Speaker 1: be one of the best teams in the NFC. But
- 12:11Speaker 1: the biggest story from that game was Drew Brees leaving
- 12:13Speaker 1: the game with multiple rib fractures on both sides of
- 12:16Speaker 1: his body and a collapse long. So I saw a
- 12:20Speaker 1: report that best case scenario hed come back in two weeks. Yeah, right,
- 12:25Speaker 1: not a chance. So I'm not at forty nah. And
- 12:29Speaker 1: apparently they said that he actually cracked cracked some of
- 12:32Speaker 1: those ribs a couple of weeks ago, they missed him
- 12:34Speaker 1: in the X ray and then when then he cracked
- 12:36Speaker 1: two more on Sunday. Now let's see all of it.
- 12:38Speaker 1: So he's all kinds of messed up. So they're just
- 12:40Speaker 1: hoping he's back for the playoffs. But the interesting thing
- 12:42Speaker 1: is we can see Jamis Winston era in New Orleans,
- 12:45Speaker 1: so we'll see how that Goes. I'm kind of I'm
- 12:48Speaker 1: kind of excited to see what he does. Yes, he
- 12:50Speaker 1: threw thirty touchdown and thirty picks the last time he
- 12:53Speaker 1: was there, or last time he was a starter in
- 12:55Speaker 1: Tampa Bay. But here's a difference. He got LASI surgery,
- 12:59Speaker 1: so hey are better. He can see the field a
- 13:01Speaker 1: little better now. And also he's gonna stretch the field
- 13:04Speaker 1: out the way Drew Brees can't. Not saying that he's
- 13:07Speaker 1: a better option than Drew Brees, but it does bring
- 13:08Speaker 1: something to the table that Drew Brees wasn't or hasn't
- 13:11Speaker 1: been doing much, and that's throw the ball down the field.
- 13:14Speaker 1: So there's the word in the West. Let's get to
- 13:17Speaker 1: know these Cardinals a little bit more. Man up is
- 13:22Speaker 1: this mass this man up on Hawk Talk. Only one
- 13:32Speaker 1: place you can started for time about the Arizona Cardinals,
- 13:34Speaker 1: and that is Kyler Murray. Taken on this entire Seahawks defense.
- 13:39Speaker 1: We've been getting to see how dynamic Kyler Murray is
- 13:41Speaker 1: as an athlete and as a quarterback. So far in
- 13:44Speaker 1: the year, he's two hundred or two hundred twelve for
- 13:46Speaker 1: three hundred and eleven for two thousand, three hundred and
- 13:48Speaker 1: seventy five yards, seventeen touchdowns, eight interceptions. However, running the football,
- 13:53Speaker 1: as you mentioned, eighty seven carries six hundred and four
- 13:56Speaker 1: yards ten touchdowns. He's only eight rushing yards behind Kenyan
- 14:00Speaker 1: Drake for the team leading rush yards, and last meeting
- 14:03Speaker 1: against the Seahawks, heaball out thirty four for forty eight
- 14:06Speaker 1: three hundred and sixty yards, three touchdowns, a pick, fourteen
- 14:09Speaker 1: carries sixty seven yards in one touchdowns. It just seems
- 14:13Speaker 1: like Kylin Murray's is getting better every single week. He's
- 14:16Speaker 1: getting better, man, That's what That's what goodball players do.
- 14:19Speaker 1: You know that first year, I'm sure things are happening
- 14:21Speaker 1: fast for him. Now, Ryan, he's been in the same
- 14:23Speaker 1: offense since he's been in high school, so it's not
- 14:25Speaker 1: like he's learning new languages or whatnot. So you expect
- 14:29Speaker 1: him to make these strides six hundred and four yards,
- 14:32Speaker 1: ten touchdowns. So he's accounting for twenty seven touchdowns and
- 14:36Speaker 1: only eight turnovers. That's pretty close to what Russell Wilson
- 14:39Speaker 1: is doing when you add him the rushing factor to that.
- 14:42Speaker 1: Not surprised with what this young man's been doing on
- 14:44Speaker 1: him in sack twelve times, Yeah, it's because he's rushed
- 14:47Speaker 1: six hundred and four yards. Dude's elusive. You're not gonna
- 14:50Speaker 1: get your hands on him often. You gotta look after
- 14:54Speaker 1: Kylin Murray. Now, let's go over and talk about the
- 14:57Speaker 1: guy who kind of opened the door for Kylin Murray. Russell,
- 14:59Speaker 1: Wilson and Verse the Cardinals defense. Now, Russell is two
- 15:03Speaker 1: hundred and thirty three for three one hundred thirty four
- 15:05Speaker 1: twenty seven one hundred eighty nine yards, twenty eight touchdowns,
- 15:08Speaker 1: ten interceptions. We all know the struggles he's had turned
- 15:11Speaker 1: the ball over the last couple of weeks, forty five carries,
- 15:14Speaker 1: three hundred twenty five yards and one touchdown, and for
- 15:16Speaker 1: the first time all year, he did not have a
- 15:18Speaker 1: passing touchdown against the Rams, very surprising. A couple opportunities,
- 15:23Speaker 1: threw a pick on one and then officers really didn't
- 15:25Speaker 1: get going. And they're trying to avoid losing three games
- 15:28Speaker 1: in a row. First time that will happened in Russell's career,
- 15:30Speaker 1: and this is gonna be a tough team to kind
- 15:33Speaker 1: of break that street. They confused Russell the last time
- 15:36Speaker 1: they played him and brought a lot of pressure. We've
- 15:38Speaker 1: seen that the last few weeks since then, teams are
- 15:41Speaker 1: gonna challenge Russell to make the right decisions. But I
- 15:44Speaker 1: still I think Russell is one of the hardest working
- 15:46Speaker 1: dudes I've been around. I've seen him go to work,
- 15:48Speaker 1: so I expect him to bounce back and correct his
- 15:51Speaker 1: wrongs this week. Yeah, no question about it. I mean,
- 15:53Speaker 1: in the national perspective, he may have dropped out of
- 15:55Speaker 1: the MVP conversation. I still think he's the best quarterback
- 15:58Speaker 1: and best football player in the league. But there's just
- 16:02Speaker 1: we said it last week and we still kind of struggled.
- 16:04Speaker 1: But you just can't hold these guys down for long.
- 16:06Speaker 1: And what I really want to see is, like, yes,
- 16:09Speaker 1: we talk about the pressure the Arizona is going to
- 16:11Speaker 1: bring in the different things that they do. I want
- 16:13Speaker 1: to get back to it being about us. It's about
- 16:15Speaker 1: what we do, and it's other teams adjusting to what
- 16:18Speaker 1: we do. Ryan Schottenheimer and Russell Wilson have had a
- 16:21Speaker 1: great chemistry this year. Shoddy has called some unbelievable plays.
- 16:24Speaker 1: I think at the end of this season, Shoddy will
- 16:26Speaker 1: be in contention for some head coaching jobs just that's
- 16:28Speaker 1: how well he's done this year. But it needs to
- 16:30Speaker 1: be about us. I think, I think I want to
- 16:32Speaker 1: see us doing some different things. I want to see
- 16:34Speaker 1: us doing some things to confuse them. I want to
- 16:36Speaker 1: see us getting back to a running game. I want
- 16:38Speaker 1: to see Dwayne Brown out there matching people on the
- 16:40Speaker 1: second level. So I just want to see us get
- 16:43Speaker 1: back to some of the things we're doing, get back
- 16:45Speaker 1: to those explosive plays that we really haven't seen the
- 16:47Speaker 1: last couple of weeks. Yep, I'm with you and I
- 16:52Speaker 1: from what I've seen in the run game, that just
- 16:55Speaker 1: sleep works. It holds those linebackers. We have to take
- 16:59Speaker 1: a note from the Rams and the forty nine ers.
- 17:02Speaker 1: They used that jet suite. They'll give it to that
- 17:05Speaker 1: receiver doing the jet suite every now and then to
- 17:07Speaker 1: keep that defense honest. But you show him that jet suite,
- 17:10Speaker 1: you hand it out to DJ or Alex or whoever.
- 17:12Speaker 1: I think things will start to open up. Next matchup,
- 17:15Speaker 1: Booda Bacon versus our body man. This dude, every time
- 17:19Speaker 1: I watch him play, he gets better and better. I
- 17:21Speaker 1: start to like him more and more. He's a husky,
- 17:23Speaker 1: so I had to had to get through the kug
- 17:26Speaker 1: husky theme. But real recognize real, all right, This dude
- 17:30Speaker 1: has seventy three tackles on the year, two interceptions, four
- 17:33Speaker 1: passes defended, and one forced fumble. He led the NFL
- 17:38Speaker 1: and tackles last season with one hundred and four. What
- 17:41Speaker 1: can you say about this dude? The one part where
- 17:43Speaker 1: he was struggling in this game was interceptions, right, had
- 17:46Speaker 1: none before this year. Guess what he's got two. Now
- 17:49Speaker 1: he's evolving and he is one of the fastest, fiercest,
- 17:54Speaker 1: but yet composed dudes I've ever seen play the game.
- 17:57Speaker 1: He was miked up, and when he's playing, I mean
- 18:00Speaker 1: he's gone. He's moving out one thousand miles an hour.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Then he also has this calmness about him to where
- 18:04Speaker 1: he brings the team team in and it really leaves them. Yeah,
- 18:07Speaker 1: no question about it. He the things that he can do.
- 18:08Speaker 1: It's it's funny because he's so impressive because he's everywhere
- 18:13Speaker 1: on the football field. Like they don't play exactly the same,
- 18:17Speaker 1: but the way he is in the run game reminds
- 18:18Speaker 1: me a little bit of Bob Sanders because it's like
- 18:20Speaker 1: I'm playing at twelve yards and now I'm making a
- 18:23Speaker 1: tackle on the line of scrimmage. Like he's that he's
- 18:25Speaker 1: that good in what he does, and yeah, you have
- 18:27Speaker 1: to account for him on every single play. Where's he
- 18:29Speaker 1: gonna be. He got us on the goal line last
- 18:31Speaker 1: week or last time he played them before he got
- 18:33Speaker 1: hacked down by DK Metcalf. So he's just a guy
- 18:35Speaker 1: that you have to account for every time. He signed
- 18:37Speaker 1: that big money extension four years, fifty nine million dollars
- 18:40Speaker 1: in August, highest paid safety in the NFL, and he's
- 18:43Speaker 1: playing at that level, worth every penny. Get fourteen tackles,
- 18:47Speaker 1: one interception, and one point five tackle for loss last
- 18:50Speaker 1: time against the Seahawks. So he's that dude. We got it.
- 18:54Speaker 1: We gotta be better, We gotta account for him, and
- 18:55Speaker 1: we gotta get back to what we did against them
- 18:57Speaker 1: in the first half when we were moving the ball up,
- 18:59Speaker 1: all up and down the field. They couldn't stop himself.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Be good to see us get back to that. Now.
- 19:04Speaker 1: The dude that won the game for him last week,
- 19:07Speaker 1: DeAndre Hopkins against this secondary bump. I mean, I don't
- 19:11Speaker 1: really know what else to say about hot Man hop
- 19:14Speaker 1: He's the truth. Is he the best receiver in the NFL?
- 19:16Speaker 1: Or is he at least one or two? He's the
- 19:19Speaker 1: best in the game. He is the best in the game.
- 19:22Speaker 1: I think I think Stefan Diggs needs a little more
- 19:25Speaker 1: respect than he's been getting. I think he's in the
- 19:27Speaker 1: mix as well. Michael Thomas has been injured this year,
- 19:30Speaker 1: so he hasn't really seen much there. DK is on
- 19:32Speaker 1: the move, but you're looking for a guy who's gonna
- 19:34Speaker 1: do everything. He blocks, run after the catch, run the
- 19:38Speaker 1: short routes, run the deep routs, and just like we
- 19:40Speaker 1: saw last week, he can go up top and make
- 19:43Speaker 1: one of the greatest plays of all time. My thing
- 19:47Speaker 1: that concerns me the most, it's Griffin. Griffin gonna be there.
- 19:51Speaker 1: He's gonna go against Tray Flowers, is Dunbar gonna be
- 19:53Speaker 1: there where this team is hurting the most right now.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Really allows Dee Hopkins to have enough to day nothing.
- 20:00Speaker 1: There's nothing right now that says the happens. Ain't gonna
- 20:03Speaker 1: go for ten and one hundred twelve, fifteen, twenty like
- 20:05Speaker 1: he usually does. Well. We mentioned before we got on
- 20:07Speaker 1: the podcast that honestly, I'll take ten for one hundred
- 20:10Speaker 1: and three in a touchdown like he's going to make plays,
- 20:13Speaker 1: He's gonna get his. I just don't want to see
- 20:15Speaker 1: fifteen for one, seventy five and three, and yeah, you're right.
- 20:19Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know if it's gonna be Shaquille,
- 20:21Speaker 1: I don't know if it's gonna be quitting Dunbar, Trey Flowers,
- 20:23Speaker 1: h DJ Reid, whoever it is. They're just they're gonna
- 20:27Speaker 1: have their hands when the gonna have to step up.
- 20:28Speaker 1: I think we saw strides in the second half against
- 20:30Speaker 1: the Rams, and I just want again we've talked about
- 20:32Speaker 1: all year, just want a little bit aggressiveness. I want
- 20:34Speaker 1: guys to take some chances because listen, he's gonna make
- 20:36Speaker 1: some plays. So it's almost like, what do you got
- 20:38Speaker 1: to lose, You might as well try to mix it
- 20:40Speaker 1: up with him. I mean, obviously he's a great rout runner.
- 20:42Speaker 1: He can go over the top, he can do short stuff.
- 20:44Speaker 1: So whatever it is, you're gonna have to step up,
- 20:46Speaker 1: big man, and don't get discouraged when he makes a
- 20:48Speaker 1: big play. Just keep keep coming back short memories. Dbs
- 20:52Speaker 1: always have to. And the one thing I will say,
- 20:55Speaker 1: I don't know if there's a good or bad. We've
- 20:57Speaker 1: gone against everyone in the league. We've gone against the
- 20:59Speaker 1: best wide receivers in the game, so they're not going
- 21:01Speaker 1: to see something they haven't seen before. It's just getting
- 21:04Speaker 1: that film study. Try to do better and somewhat contain
- 21:07Speaker 1: Hopkins and I'm good with a pim grab him. I'll
- 21:13Speaker 1: take him twenty yards spot foul rather than a sixty
- 21:16Speaker 1: yard bomb and his average is up. So contain d Hopkins.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Good luck, but contain him. Next matchup, Kenyan Drake versus
- 21:24Speaker 1: Seahawks front seven. They got a nice one two punch man.
- 21:27Speaker 1: They got Key and drag back there that you have
- 21:29Speaker 1: Colin Murray, who you mentioned. There's a few yards behind
- 21:32Speaker 1: Kei and Drake. When it comes to rushing yards, he's
- 21:34Speaker 1: got one hundred and thirty five carries, six hundred and
- 21:36Speaker 1: twelve yards, four touchdowns. Didn't play against the Dolphins, play
- 21:39Speaker 1: well against Buffalo with one hundred yards on sixteen carries.
- 21:44Speaker 1: And you gotta factory in Chase Edmonds too. I know
- 21:47Speaker 1: he's not a focal point, but they make something in
- 21:49Speaker 1: as well. That whole run game is just on point
- 21:51Speaker 1: right now. You got a quarterback who can get it done.
- 21:53Speaker 1: You gotta running back who's versatile, and don't forget you
- 21:56Speaker 1: got the little homie coming off the bench who can
- 21:58Speaker 1: give the starter blow and still be just as effective.
- 22:01Speaker 1: I like the run game. Well, the thing that makes
- 22:03Speaker 1: the run game so tough, and this is anyone the
- 22:05Speaker 1: same with like the Baltimore Ravens is typically when you're
- 22:08Speaker 1: talking about a run game and run fits, okay, it's
- 22:10Speaker 1: eleven on ten, the quarterback is not part of the
- 22:13Speaker 1: run game. But against against the Cardinals, it's eleven on eleven.
- 22:16Speaker 1: You have to have a guy count for him in
- 22:18Speaker 1: every single play. So it makes you makes you have
- 22:20Speaker 1: to be disciplined. That means Jordan Brooks made some good
- 22:22Speaker 1: plays that first game. He's gonna have to be disciplined
- 22:24Speaker 1: because he's got the speed to run Kyler down. He's
- 22:26Speaker 1: gonna have to play well. Kaji Right's gonna have to
- 22:28Speaker 1: play well. Bobby Wagner is gonna have to play well
- 22:30Speaker 1: because if both things are going against the Cardinals, you're
- 22:32Speaker 1: gonna be in for a long day because if if
- 22:34Speaker 1: they can run the ball as well as you're thrown
- 22:36Speaker 1: right now, it's gonna be a rough day. But the
- 22:38Speaker 1: positive about the last matchup against them, we shut Kenyan
- 22:42Speaker 1: Drake down. He had fourteen carries for thirty four yards
- 22:45Speaker 1: two point four yards per carry. So we're definitely gonna
- 22:47Speaker 1: see more of need to see more of that for
- 22:48Speaker 1: the seats to get a win on Thursday night. Yes, sir,
- 22:52Speaker 1: we're gonna have to see more of that. And now
- 22:54Speaker 1: that leads us right into the path to victory. After
- 23:00Speaker 1: forty five waits for the staff, Michael Vickson puts it down.
- 23:04Speaker 1: That kick is away and that kick inn it's gun.
- 23:09Speaker 1: It's a pass to victory on Hawk Talk, all right,
- 23:13Speaker 1: pat to victory first and four more So, you have
- 23:15Speaker 1: to take over take care of the football. Too many
- 23:18Speaker 1: turnovers the last two or three weeks. They're not oblivious
- 23:21Speaker 1: to this. They're on the field when they turn the
- 23:23Speaker 1: ball over. They have players and coaches who care about
- 23:25Speaker 1: their jobs. People relax, they're not just going to ignore
- 23:28Speaker 1: the fact that Russell's making poor decisions. They're having conversations,
- 23:31Speaker 1: they're coming up with game plans. We just have to
- 23:34Speaker 1: trust a fair going to write the ship again. They're
- 23:36Speaker 1: six and three. They don't turn the ball over. They're
- 23:38Speaker 1: easily seven. He's the one, seven and two number one,
- 23:43Speaker 1: no question about it. And going along with take care
- 23:45Speaker 1: of football. You need to run the football, man, and
- 23:47Speaker 1: not just run it. To run it obviously every time
- 23:49Speaker 1: you drop a play, you're hoping you get big yardage.
- 23:51Speaker 1: That's why they have them. But we gotta run it
- 23:53Speaker 1: effectively because we just need more balance on offense. I
- 23:56Speaker 1: know everyone wants to go out there and let Russ blank,
- 23:59Speaker 1: but oh, you're done with that, you know. Yeah, I'm
- 24:03Speaker 1: done with it. I'm done hearing it. I'm done hearing it.
- 24:05Speaker 1: So and he is. We know how good Russell is.
- 24:07Speaker 1: He's going to get out of this. He's not going
- 24:09Speaker 1: to continue to turn the ball over. But he needs
- 24:11Speaker 1: help in the sense of keeping guys on this man
- 24:14Speaker 1: because the way teams are going to defend us now,
- 24:17Speaker 1: it's like, hey, listen, we are done getting beat over
- 24:19Speaker 1: the top. They watched that for five weeks and they said,
- 24:22Speaker 1: whatever we're doing, we're not getting beat over the top.
- 24:23Speaker 1: We're gonna put a sate, we're gonna play some cover two.
- 24:25Speaker 1: We're gonna got to be physical underneath, and we're not
- 24:28Speaker 1: giving a big play. So we need to run the ball.
- 24:30Speaker 1: And when they do all that pressure stuff, if we're
- 24:32Speaker 1: running the ball, it takes them out of it. Okay,
- 24:34Speaker 1: we can run to the pressure. We can. So if
- 24:37Speaker 1: we run the ball, I think it's going to help
- 24:38Speaker 1: us open things up. On offense. I'm with you, run
- 24:41Speaker 1: that rod. They also have to start fast on defense.
- 24:44Speaker 1: You can't let the cardos Is do what they do
- 24:46Speaker 1: and then second half you figure it out. They started
- 24:49Speaker 1: fast against offensively, they need to start fast as well
- 24:52Speaker 1: because last week was the first time the Rams. The
- 24:56Speaker 1: second time the rams is giving up a touchdown on
- 24:58Speaker 1: the opening drive for their opponents. So offense, defense start
- 25:02Speaker 1: fast last couple of weeks and feel sluggis something don't
- 25:05Speaker 1: feel right. There's not the excitement. I heard someone say.
- 25:08Speaker 1: You know, it's probably because they're not playing on primetime.
- 25:11Speaker 1: When you're sitting around all day, you have all the
- 25:14Speaker 1: what do you call like the production trucks outside. When
- 25:16Speaker 1: you pull up you see Sunday night football. You're gonna
- 25:20Speaker 1: get going. Well, now it's Thursday night football. You got
- 25:22Speaker 1: prime time football again. Use that energy. Defense start fast, often,
- 25:26Speaker 1: start even faster, yep, And then you know while you're
- 25:29Speaker 1: on defense, man, when you pressure Caylin Murray, be disciplined.
- 25:32Speaker 1: That's the thing about him, and he's so elusive. You
- 25:34Speaker 1: gotta have integrity when you blitz, run at the right hip,
- 25:36Speaker 1: do what you can. If you need a blitz and peel.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Do what you have to do because you got to
- 25:40Speaker 1: contain in the pocket, and that goes for a defensive
- 25:42Speaker 1: line as well. He's just so he wants to get
- 25:44Speaker 1: fleshed out. He wants to make moves with his legs.
- 25:47Speaker 1: And if you can make him have to step up
- 25:49Speaker 1: and really sit there and make reads in the court
- 25:51Speaker 1: in the pocket, it's gonna be better for our defense
- 25:53Speaker 1: as a whole. So make sure your disciplined. Tyler Murray
- 25:56Speaker 1: is going to make plays, but do everything in your
- 25:58Speaker 1: power to keep inside the pocket. Yes, sir, And now Russell, Hey, Russell,
- 26:02Speaker 1: just be yourself, baby, be the guy that we have
- 26:05Speaker 1: known to love, that we grew with. We know you
- 26:08Speaker 1: have it in You just got to step back and
- 26:10Speaker 1: make the right football play. You don't have to make
- 26:13Speaker 1: the spect tackling and play every time. This make the
- 26:15Speaker 1: right football play. I think he would get back to that.
- 26:17Speaker 1: I feel like he was humble. This is the most
- 26:19Speaker 1: humble I've heard him after a game last week. He's
- 26:22Speaker 1: usually humble, but those is a different kind of humble,
- 26:25Speaker 1: and I appreciate that. I think he's going to get
- 26:27Speaker 1: back to work. We need the Russell from the first
- 26:29Speaker 1: five six games, yep. And then we need DK Metcalf
- 26:31Speaker 1: and Tyner Lockett to step back up, right. I mean
- 26:34Speaker 1: we are so accustomed to them rotating games and going
- 26:36Speaker 1: off every single week. Last week was the first week
- 26:39Speaker 1: we didn't see DK Metcalf really make those impact plays
- 26:42Speaker 1: and get involved in the past game. Some of that's
- 26:44Speaker 1: what the Rams are doing. Some of that was Jane Ramsey.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Some of that was just it happens at receiver. Sometimes
- 26:49Speaker 1: it's just not your day. But we need them to
- 26:51Speaker 1: resurface and come back and help us out because what
- 26:54Speaker 1: happened last time. We're in Arizona are going up and
- 26:56Speaker 1: down the field. We need those big plays from those
- 26:58Speaker 1: two guys, all right, We need him to have a
- 27:01Speaker 1: big game. We need DK, We need Locket, we need Russell,
- 27:04Speaker 1: we need Bobby. All hands on deck to avoid this
- 27:07Speaker 1: three game losing streak. The Cardinals are coming to the
- 27:10Speaker 1: Pacific Northwest. It's gonna be a great battle on Thursday
- 27:14Speaker 1: Night football. It's been real. I'm Michael Bumpers, He's Nasa Choby.
- 27:17Speaker 1: That's Hawk Talk Preview edition, week eleven. That's right, the
- 27:21Speaker 1: Wrongs talking. Next time,
