- 0:35Speaker 1: Brandon from the Thunderhawks, which is a semi pro football
- 0:38Speaker 1: team out of Indiana. Also had urine my thoughts that
- 0:41Speaker 1: was sent over to Logan, our sports guy. He had
- 0:44Speaker 1: some technical difficulties. Wasn't able to make the episode, but
- 0:47Speaker 1: I'm going to record it. Probably gonna sound better anyways,
- 0:50Speaker 1: let's be honest. Going to give a Beard Laws update.

- 0:58Speaker 1: if there's anybody out there that may be wants to assist.
- 1:00Speaker 1: That would be great. Have a couple of great other
- 1:03Speaker 1: ideas and some new things that's going to be happening
- 1:05Speaker 1: to the podcast. Have a lot of episodes that are
- 1:07Speaker 1: being lined up, a lot of people that are getting
- 1:09Speaker 1: excited for the podcast that want to be a part
- 1:11Speaker 1: of the podcast. So fifth episode, We're starting to get better.
- 1:14Speaker 1: We're starting to figure this out, but this guy's a limit.
- 1:16Speaker 1: We're going to continue to get better. Also have our
- 1:19Speaker 1: beer news and our featured Beard of the day. Without
- 1:21Speaker 1: further ado, here is the interview with Brandon from the Thunderhawks.
- 1:25Speaker 1: All right, so, ladies and gentlemen, we are joined tonight
- 1:28Speaker 1: by a member of the thunder Hawks. I can't say
- 1:30Speaker 1: the first name, so I'm gonna let you do the
- 1:32Speaker 1: team introduction here in a little bit because it's kind
- 1:34Speaker 1: of a kind of a hard name and uh two
- 1:39Speaker 1: one one two on some social media apps as well
- 1:42Speaker 1: as twitch, TikTok and the follow So welcome obviously to
- 1:45Speaker 1: Beard Laws Podcasts. Fine, appreciate you taking some time out
- 1:48Speaker 1: to talk with us to just kind of have a conversation.
- 1:51Speaker 1: I'm excited to learn more, not only about yourself, but
- 1:54Speaker 1: to learn more about your team. So if you want to,
- 1:57Speaker 1: what I know so far is you guys are semi
- 1:59Speaker 1: pro team out of Indiana. What it looked like you
- 2:02Speaker 1: guys pablished about twenty twelve.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Yes, sir, you guys are around there.
- 2:06Speaker 1: You guys have had some success already, whether it be
- 2:08Speaker 1: from you know, divisional rounds of the mlf A, the
- 2:11Speaker 1: interstate championship in twenty sixteen, and just sounds like it's
- 2:16Speaker 1: it's great success in a in a small time, which
- 2:19Speaker 1: which is great for any program. Right, So, how the
- 2:21Speaker 1: hell you say the name Michiana?
- 2:22Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 2:23Speaker 3: Yeah, it threw me for a loop too, because whenever
- 2:26Speaker 3: they whenever I first moved up here and joined the team,
- 2:28Speaker 3: because I was already big in the football down in Texas,
- 2:31Speaker 3: whenever I moved up here and they kept saying Michiana,
- 2:33Speaker 3: I was like, where's michianat?
- 2:35Speaker 2: Where's michiganat?
- 2:36Speaker 3: And Michiana is isn't just a like a town or anything.
- 2:41Speaker 3: It's Michigan and Indiana combined. And they just kind of
- 2:45Speaker 3: threw it out there. So it threw me off too.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a that's some like Northern US type ship
- 2:50Speaker 1: right there. We're just going to take a couple of names,
- 2:52Speaker 1: We're just going to put them together and it's it's
- 2:54Speaker 1: going to be a new thing, right, So let's let's
- 2:56Speaker 1: talk about So what's your role on the team.
- 2:58Speaker 3: I am actually a safety and I played mostly special
- 3:02Speaker 3: teams like kickoff hunt.
- 3:06Speaker 2: It's more of a support.
- 3:08Speaker 3: Role because I chose to step back from being like
- 3:13Speaker 3: trying to compete as a as a starter. The guy
- 3:17Speaker 3: that that came in came in this year, really great
- 3:21Speaker 3: athlete all around.
- 3:22Speaker 2: I chose to step back because.
- 3:23Speaker 3: I'm getting up there in age, so I'm constantly getting hurt.
- 3:26Speaker 3: And this guy came out and was like a rocket
- 3:30Speaker 3: and really proved that he deserved the spot.
- 3:33Speaker 2: So I stepped back and let him have it and.
- 3:35Speaker 3: Focused on special teams where a.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Lot of people don't want to play. Right.
- 3:39Speaker 3: Well, this guy, I think it was the championship game
- 3:44Speaker 3: for our league.
- 3:45Speaker 2: I think he had like four picks in one.
- 3:47Speaker 3: Game and maybe a fumble recovery. Yeah, he right now
- 3:53Speaker 3: leads the league and intercept with I think telve.
- 3:57Speaker 1: So how many games is typically a season for you guys?
- 3:59Speaker 3: Last season, I think we had eight, and I think
- 4:02Speaker 3: this past season that we just finished, I think we
- 4:06Speaker 3: had those fourteen.
- 4:07Speaker 2: I'm sorry it was fourteen because we.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Played out of league games against two teams from Chicago
- 4:15Speaker 3: and one team from Southern Michigan. One of the teams
- 4:21Speaker 3: from Chicago was ranked i think number five in the
- 4:25Speaker 3: nation in semi pro and we came out and I'm
- 4:30Speaker 3: almost positive score was thirteen to twelve and we ended
- 4:33Speaker 3: up winning.
- 4:33Speaker 1: That's great for the organization, right there.
- 4:36Speaker 3: Is it is unfortunately with us being such a backwoods
- 4:41Speaker 3: team and league, we don't we really don't get the
- 4:45Speaker 3: respect that we deserve or that we're working for.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Yeah, that's too bad. And hopefully, you know, with taking
- 4:51Speaker 1: some time to do this, I mean, it's not going
- 4:52Speaker 1: to all of a sudden be like, oh shit, you're
- 4:54Speaker 1: on Bear Lost podcast, your team's going to national. But
- 4:56Speaker 1: you know what I mean, like, start to incorporate some
- 4:58Speaker 1: social media. You keep having success, you're beating national teams. Eventually,
- 5:02Speaker 1: you guys have to start getting from recognition.
- 5:05Speaker 3: Right, And what was crazy about you mentioned TikTok. Whenever
- 5:08Speaker 3: I first started TikTok, I had like six or seven
- 5:10Speaker 3: videos out and then our first game came out. I
- 5:14Speaker 3: were coming out of the tunnel and I.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Pulled out my phone.
- 5:17Speaker 3: I was like, Hey, I'm gona take a video, and
- 5:18Speaker 3: I took a video of the guys walking out and
- 5:21Speaker 3: threw a sound on there. It just like skyrocketed first
- 5:24Speaker 3: couple of weeks. I think right now that one video
- 5:27Speaker 3: is sitting at four hundred and sixty five thousand views
- 5:32Speaker 3: and like forty six thousand hearts.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Oh shit, I'm gonna make it big. This AP's great,
- 5:36Speaker 1: and then and then it just they stall out.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Well, I've been adding videos here and there of the team.
- 5:44Speaker 3: I don't I try not to do anything too personal,
- 5:47Speaker 3: like one individual guy making plays or something.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Because I don't.
- 5:54Speaker 3: I want to let that be up to them if
- 5:57Speaker 3: they get exposed. I can make the video and you know,
- 6:00Speaker 3: I can add a down to it, and I can
- 6:01Speaker 3: you know, forward it to them, but I want to,
- 6:03Speaker 3: you know, let them be the deciding backer if that
- 6:07Speaker 3: gets published or not.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Yeah, no, that makes sense absolutely.
- 6:09Speaker 2: So.
- 6:09Speaker 1: I was reading to Battleground Football League. It looks like
- 6:12Speaker 1: there's what two divisions of North and the South league. Yes,
- 6:15Speaker 1: total of eleven teams. Was that right? Yes, that's a
- 6:18Speaker 1: pretty solid league. What funds it? I saw that there
- 6:20Speaker 1: was you know, some players and it's like a it's
- 6:23Speaker 1: a league ran by the league itself. A typical leagues
- 6:26Speaker 1: where there's a couple of people that are in charge,
- 6:28Speaker 1: which is is a pretty cool concept and it seems
- 6:30Speaker 1: like something the league really takes pride in. So how
- 6:33Speaker 1: is this league funded? Because, I mean, football is a
- 6:36Speaker 1: expensive sport. There's a lot of travel, is it. Is
- 6:38Speaker 1: it just out of your guys pocket?
- 6:40Speaker 3: Yeah, it's actually out of our pocket. It's a pay
- 6:43Speaker 3: to play every year. It varies from.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Team to team. I was on a team a.
- 6:48Speaker 3: Couple of years ago that we had to pay like
- 6:51Speaker 3: three hundred and eighty dollars or three hundred sety five
- 6:53Speaker 3: dollars to play.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Some teams can go low as.
- 6:58Speaker 3: One hundred dollars and it all depends on, you know,
- 7:03Speaker 3: the quality of the uniforms, where you're playing at and
- 7:07Speaker 3: the place that we play at. We actually get a
- 7:09Speaker 3: really good deal Union Grove Church, which is actually built
- 7:16Speaker 3: out like the middle of nowhere. If you go out there,
- 7:18Speaker 3: there's literally nothing but cornfields out there, and so we're
- 7:24Speaker 3: playing right next to Farmers. We just we we have
- 7:27Speaker 3: to pay for everything. We don't have sponsors.
- 7:32Speaker 2: This is just all on.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Up and that shows even more of the passion of
- 7:35Speaker 1: the players, you know what I mean. If you're petting
- 7:37Speaker 1: up the money and not getting paid to play, you know,
- 7:39Speaker 1: just that you want to be there and promotes a
- 7:42Speaker 1: better attitude. Right say, I'd say the clubhouse, but there's
- 7:45Speaker 1: in this situation, there's not really much of a locker
- 7:47Speaker 1: room or clubhouse, I guess. So right now, we we
- 7:50Speaker 1: all just meet up in a little classroom close the door.
- 7:54Speaker 2: We get changed and that's where we meet.
- 7:57Speaker 3: They'll go in there and they'll do their their prayers
- 8:00Speaker 3: and the little pregame meeting and role assignment. But it
- 8:07Speaker 3: really is crazy because we have guys coming from Indianapolis
- 8:11Speaker 3: to drive all the way up here just to play,
- 8:13Speaker 3: and that's like a two and a half hour drive.
- 8:15Speaker 2: So that's dedication.
- 8:16Speaker 3: You know, you've already you're already paying team vs. And
- 8:18Speaker 3: then on top of it, you know you're spending a
- 8:21Speaker 3: tank of gas every Thursday and Saturday just to come
- 8:24Speaker 3: practice for you know, every Saturday, to play a game.
- 8:27Speaker 2: So it's it is a lot of dedication.
- 8:29Speaker 3: It's not enough exposure on the guys that are playing
- 8:33Speaker 3: right now.
- 8:33Speaker 1: If somebody's interested in the area for trying out and
- 8:36Speaker 1: want to play with you guys, how do they do this?
- 8:38Speaker 1: How do they get ahold of whomever and and get
- 8:41Speaker 1: a tryout or get a chance to play for you guys.
- 8:43Speaker 3: Well, and the first time that I ever decided to
- 8:47Speaker 3: play semi pro football.
- 8:48Speaker 2: I've seen an article on the news about it about.
- 8:50Speaker 3: Some I think it was fifty five years old, still
- 8:54Speaker 3: playing football and a linebacker, and I was like, oh.
- 8:56Speaker 2: You know they got Simmi Pro in the area. Let
- 8:58Speaker 2: me let me check this out. So googled Timmy.
- 9:01Speaker 3: Pro and this was in Texas, and long list of
- 9:04Speaker 3: teams popped up. So I clicked the closest one to me.
- 9:07Speaker 3: That's pretty much how I got my start. And there's
- 9:10Speaker 3: actually Facebook pages for Simmi Pro teams, Like if you
- 9:15Speaker 3: if you google Simmi Pro football, you know a number
- 9:17Speaker 3: of number of teams will pop up up here in
- 9:19Speaker 3: Northern Indiana and the South Bend area, there's only one team.
- 9:23Speaker 2: There's one team in Port Wayne.
- 9:25Speaker 3: There's a laundry list of them in.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Uh in Indy teams easy enough. So anybody interested in
- 9:32Speaker 1: the area google it up, hit the Facebook page, or
- 9:35Speaker 1: why don't you just check out the thunder Hawks. Another
- 9:37Speaker 1: another good question here is there was sponsorship on the page,
- 9:40Speaker 1: whether it was sponsoring the team sponsoring a player. How
- 9:44Speaker 1: does one go about that if they want to help,
- 9:45Speaker 1: you know, with the thunder Hawks, either in a sponsorship
- 9:48Speaker 1: or you know, sponsoring even a player, if that's possible.
- 9:51Speaker 3: A player, I'm not I'm not too sure. That would
- 9:53Speaker 3: have to be an individual thing.
- 9:56Speaker 2: I don't think we have a.
- 9:59Speaker 3: Rule. Again, but as far as sponsoring, like my team,
- 10:03Speaker 3: you would have to reach out to Larry Fisher, who's
- 10:06Speaker 3: the owner of the team. Reach out to him. He
- 10:08Speaker 3: has some paperwork that he would have to do and
- 10:11Speaker 3: send out to you and and then just determine a price.
- 10:17Speaker 3: Right now, I believe the offer still stands that if
- 10:22Speaker 3: if anybody donates a certain amount of money, he would
- 10:25Speaker 3: actually rename the football field for that organization.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Wow, that's that's a great thing. I mean, I was
- 10:33Speaker 1: just trying to think I'm gonna have to hit him
- 10:35Speaker 1: up and be like, hey man, how much is it
- 10:36Speaker 1: gonna cost? Put a beard lost sticker on every helmet?
- 10:40Speaker 2: Right?
- 10:41Speaker 1: Every time you make a big play like Ohio State
- 10:43Speaker 1: and the Boys, you get a little beard lost sticker.
- 10:45Speaker 2: Right that Actually, that would be pretty legit.
- 10:48Speaker 3: There's a lot of guys on the team that love
- 10:50Speaker 3: the beards, but some people just can't have them or
- 10:52Speaker 3: they just don't grow.
- 10:53Speaker 1: Right speaking of that, who's got the best beard on
- 10:55Speaker 1: the team?
- 10:56Speaker 2: I do? I do without a without a doubt.
- 10:58Speaker 3: I've often been referred to as as a little weddle.
- 11:04Speaker 1: That's exactly what popped in my mind. I saw your
- 11:06Speaker 1: picture and as soon as you said safety, I was like,
- 11:09Speaker 1: oh shit.
- 11:10Speaker 2: I'm nowhere is near as good as him.
- 11:12Speaker 3: But I have the same number as him, and I've
- 11:16Speaker 3: won that number for a few years. Last year I
- 11:18Speaker 3: didn't get to play it because a guy named King
- 11:20Speaker 3: Taylor had it and I tried to say that, you know,
- 11:24Speaker 3: I fired him for it, but.
- 11:25Speaker 2: I knew that he could take me.
- 11:27Speaker 3: So I was like, you know what, man, I'll give
- 11:30Speaker 3: it a rest. I'll take Deon Sanders number this year.
- 11:32Speaker 3: You can, you can have thirty two. So I gave
- 11:35Speaker 3: thirty two arrests.
- 11:36Speaker 2: For a year.
- 11:36Speaker 3: King ended up leaving to go play in on a
- 11:40Speaker 3: team in Indy and then he's coming back and he's
- 11:43Speaker 3: he's gonna let me keep the number.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Or maybe maybe he's a little slower, maybe he's afraid.
- 11:47Speaker 2: He is now no, no, King Taylor is it? Yeah?
- 11:51Speaker 3: King getn't afraid of anything. He by far one of
- 11:55Speaker 3: the best linebackers that I've ever seen.
- 11:58Speaker 2: He's very he.
- 12:01Speaker 3: He has hands, he can catch, and he just he
- 12:04Speaker 3: has that Marshall unglynch attitude of running through somebody's face.
- 12:08Speaker 1: No ship. Does he eat a lot of skittles too?
- 12:11Speaker 2: I don't think so.
- 12:12Speaker 3: I think he eats a lot of candy, but I
- 12:15Speaker 3: don't think it's skittle.
- 12:16Speaker 1: I don't know how you eat anyways, I don't know.
- 12:19Speaker 1: So I gotta ask why a thunder Hawk. Were you
- 12:22Speaker 1: around for the original start of the naming of the team?
- 12:25Speaker 2: I was not.
- 12:27Speaker 3: This happened, you know, many years ago. And whenever you
- 12:31Speaker 3: create a team, you want to be original. You you
- 12:34Speaker 3: don't want to take something like the Patriots or or
- 12:38Speaker 3: the Seahawks or something like that, which a lot of
- 12:40Speaker 3: teams do have. And I'm not gonna buy any means.
- 12:42Speaker 3: You want to try to find something original, something that
- 12:44Speaker 3: you you know, if it goes to it to an extent,
- 12:47Speaker 3: you know you can you can copyright it, you can
- 12:49Speaker 3: market it, and you know, uh like that as as your.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Funding for absolutely, because the last thing that.
- 12:55Speaker 3: You want is to to put you know, a logo
- 12:59Speaker 3: and a name on jersey and a helmet and then
- 13:01Speaker 3: you know, get caught up by like you know Seahawks
- 13:04Speaker 3: and say hey, you know some assists or we're gonna
- 13:07Speaker 3: take you the court.
- 13:08Speaker 1: Yeah, and you're gonna have to buy all new helmets,
- 13:10Speaker 1: all new jerseys, new logo, you would you.
- 13:12Speaker 3: Would really have to rip off the logo off the helmet,
- 13:17Speaker 3: but the jerseys, Yes, you would have to buy new jerseys.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Well, I didn't know what a thunder Hawk was. I
- 13:21Speaker 1: had to look it up. I thought it was like
- 13:22Speaker 1: a helicopter or something. Apparently, and I don't know if
- 13:26Speaker 1: you if you look up the pretty badass bird from
- 13:31Speaker 1: see apparently is where they originated.
- 13:33Speaker 2: I didn't know that much.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Yeah, so is there like a big rival, like a
- 13:39Speaker 1: game where you guys are just a little extra jacked
- 13:42Speaker 1: up to play?
- 13:42Speaker 3: This team, the Allen County Lions, has always been the
- 13:47Speaker 3: Thunderhawk's rival. They are a great organization, They're they're really phenomenal.
- 13:54Speaker 3: They're led by a great coach, really stand up guy,
- 13:57Speaker 3: and they just they come with everything that they have.
- 14:01Speaker 3: Another team that entered the league this year was the
- 14:04Speaker 3: Lake County Warriors, another phenomenal team, and that team has
- 14:08Speaker 3: like a ridiculous amount of talent and even from the
- 14:11Speaker 3: smaller guys they they're just they're so fiery and they
- 14:15Speaker 3: just you know, come off the ball with with nothing
- 14:18Speaker 3: but hate and the pure will to to want to
- 14:21Speaker 3: destroy everything. With those two teams, Yeah, with those two
- 14:27Speaker 3: teams there, they would have to be the rivals. Lions
- 14:32Speaker 3: I think have maybe one or two more seasons in them,
- 14:35Speaker 3: and I think the owner wants to to put it
- 14:38Speaker 3: on the back burner and and kind of retire the team,
- 14:43Speaker 3: And so the rival is going to be coming to
- 14:45Speaker 3: an end within the next few seasons.
- 14:47Speaker 2: I mean, I hope not. I hope he changes his
- 14:49Speaker 2: mind too.
- 14:50Speaker 1: We gotta we gotta have this rival going on the
- 14:52Speaker 1: bigger you guys are gonna get that's what the league needs,
- 14:54Speaker 1: a nice rivalry does.
- 14:56Speaker 3: And with the Lions and the Warriors, it's that's exactly
- 15:00Speaker 3: how it's going to be.
- 15:01Speaker 2: It's it's going to be smashed football.
- 15:03Speaker 1: I'm not sure if you were were you around when
- 15:06Speaker 1: you guys switched leagues from the mlf A to the BGFL.
- 15:09Speaker 1: I was not, And I was just curious or even
- 15:11Speaker 1: if you know the history of like what made the
- 15:13Speaker 1: switch to the.
- 15:14Speaker 3: There was as far as I know, there was a
- 15:18Speaker 3: lot of finger pointing and drama, and the owner wouldn't
- 15:23Speaker 3: speak too much into it other than you know, he
- 15:26Speaker 3: he got tired of a lot of stuff that.
- 15:29Speaker 2: Was going on.
- 15:30Speaker 3: So they they came out and started their own league.
- 15:35Speaker 3: I know one thing that he did mention is that
- 15:38Speaker 3: teams were getting.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Kicked out of out of the fields.
- 15:41Speaker 3: So whenever we whenever we schedule a field, like some
- 15:45Speaker 3: teams will schedule a high school football field.
- 15:47Speaker 2: We have to hold up to a certain standard.
- 15:50Speaker 3: And whenever you play in football, there's a lot of egos.
- 15:54Speaker 3: So whenever you're getting beat like fifty to zero, your
- 15:57Speaker 3: ego comes out and and crap talking starts happing. Well,
- 16:02Speaker 3: if a fight breaks out on a high school football field,
- 16:05Speaker 3: the school district can and will eliminate you from using
- 16:10Speaker 3: the field ever again. And so teams were losing deposits
- 16:14Speaker 3: for fields, and the field aren't cheapd I know of
- 16:18Speaker 3: one in Dallas that cost fifteen hundred game.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Wow, that's no joke. And that's and again guys, that's
- 16:24Speaker 1: all funded by.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Layers average Joe's average shows paying for it.
- 16:29Speaker 1: And so is there any like kind of big names
- 16:33Speaker 1: or any guys that played collegiate other places that were
- 16:37Speaker 1: part of big programs had had a fairly good fear
- 16:40Speaker 1: didn't work out at a higher level that are in
- 16:42Speaker 1: the league. Were in the league. You know how every league,
- 16:45Speaker 1: whether it's even a softball league or something, was like, shit,
- 16:47Speaker 1: this guy was in our league.
- 16:49Speaker 3: There was I know on our team, there's a guy
- 16:52Speaker 3: named Alex Smith.
- 16:54Speaker 4: I know a couple of other guys I think dabbled
- 16:57Speaker 4: in in college football, but I know for I know
- 17:02Speaker 4: for a fact that Alex Smith.
- 17:04Speaker 2: And it's crazy that that's his name.
- 17:07Speaker 3: Alex Smith played for college called Franklin, and whenever he
- 17:11Speaker 3: was in high school, he was a really big name,
- 17:13Speaker 3: so big that buddy of mine that went to a
- 17:16Speaker 3: completely different school knew of him. So whenever I brought
- 17:20Speaker 3: up his name to my buddy, he was like, oh,
- 17:22Speaker 3: I know that guy. He was, you know, phenomenal in
- 17:24Speaker 3: high school and went on to play college football and
- 17:27Speaker 3: just destroyed everything.
- 17:29Speaker 2: And I was like, oh, you know who's joining our.
- 17:31Speaker 3: Team, and you know that's cool, And this guy is
- 17:35Speaker 3: so talented. The first first first practice that he came out,
- 17:39Speaker 3: he ran a go route just straight down the field.
- 17:42Speaker 3: And he's not the fastest player by any means, but
- 17:45Speaker 3: me and my corner. Both went up to stop him
- 17:48Speaker 3: from getting the ball, and he just reached out one
- 17:50Speaker 3: hand and grabbed it like it was a tennis ball. Wow,
- 17:55Speaker 3: just grabbed it out of there, pulled it down, turned
- 17:57Speaker 3: and took off runt. And me and him just kind
- 17:59Speaker 3: of looked at each other like, what the hell just happened?
- 18:01Speaker 1: Unreal?
- 18:02Speaker 3: And he's he's always making making plays like that. Right now,
- 18:06Speaker 3: he's trying to break a record for the longest pass
- 18:10Speaker 3: caught behind.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Your back, No shit, Yes, And he does that.
- 18:14Speaker 3: A lot to show off because he won't like somebody
- 18:17Speaker 3: will throw a football at him and he'll just jump
- 18:20Speaker 3: up in the air, turn around and catch.
- 18:21Speaker 2: It like it's nothing. And there's kind of like an
- 18:24Speaker 2: utter awe that that just happened.
- 18:27Speaker 3: Yeah, it's uh, you just throw the football downfield and
- 18:29Speaker 3: you have to catch it behind your back.
- 18:31Speaker 2: And he wants to break that record.
- 18:33Speaker 1: What is the record? You know?
- 18:34Speaker 3: I think it's I think he said it was like
- 18:36Speaker 3: fifty something yard and he's trying to push for like
- 18:39Speaker 3: eighty or ninety yards.
- 18:40Speaker 1: Might as well go big, right, right.
- 18:42Speaker 3: And that's the kind of mentality everybody has, which is,
- 18:46Speaker 3: you know why we're playing and what we're playing right
- 18:49Speaker 3: now with this tournament. We want to go to Florida.
- 18:53Speaker 3: We want people to know who we are. We're trying.
- 18:56Speaker 3: We're tired of getting getting stepped on, and I think.
- 18:59Speaker 2: We're up and we've had enough of it.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Yeah, so let's talk about this tournament. So is this
- 19:04Speaker 1: is it a tournament where you know it comes from
- 19:06Speaker 1: the league play championship type style or is it a
- 19:09Speaker 1: whole separate tournament to go into something bigger.
- 19:12Speaker 3: Well, certain teams will get what they call auto big Florida,
- 19:16Speaker 3: like the Marion County Crusaders, which is out of Indy,
- 19:21Speaker 3: a completely different league. Something happened in their championship game
- 19:25Speaker 3: and they had to cancel the game. Well, the league
- 19:30Speaker 3: decided to give the win the championship win to another
- 19:35Speaker 3: to the other team instead of the Crusaders. Well, whoever
- 19:38Speaker 3: runs the whole Florida gig gave the Crusaders an automatic bit.
- 19:44Speaker 3: And I'm not knocking the Crusaders by any means. We
- 19:47Speaker 3: won our championship. We went fourteen to zero throughout the season,
- 19:51Speaker 3: beat a nationally ranked team. We have to play in
- 19:54Speaker 3: a tournament with four other teams just to get to
- 19:59Speaker 3: just to get a shot to play in Florida, so
- 20:02Speaker 3: two games. So this Saturday we played the Indie Tornadoes.
- 20:06Speaker 3: We didn't get to play them throughout the season. From
- 20:09Speaker 3: what I know of them, they do have a good secondary.
- 20:13Speaker 3: I think they have a couple of good alignment and
- 20:16Speaker 3: then with the actual season being over, they could actually
- 20:22Speaker 3: legally pick up players. So I think that's what they've
- 20:24Speaker 3: been doing, is it is recruited players to come play
- 20:27Speaker 3: for them to run for a national championship, which is legal.
- 20:31Speaker 1: That's pretty intense though it.
- 20:33Speaker 3: Is, and some people would would kind of worry about it.
- 20:39Speaker 3: But with the guys that we have, we're we're not
- 20:44Speaker 3: not even shook in the little like the slightest bit.
- 20:48Speaker 3: Everybody's fired up about everybody's ready. The team that we
- 20:52Speaker 3: played in the championship was supposed to just blow us
- 20:55Speaker 3: out the water, and we came out and I think
- 20:58Speaker 3: the score was twenty one to nothing in the first quarter.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Oh wow, came out swinging.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:05Speaker 3: And their quarterback actually is I really hate saying this,
- 21:11Speaker 3: but he's kind of the blame because during warmups he
- 21:17Speaker 3: came out and was at the fifty yard line yelling
- 21:20Speaker 3: and screaming at us, saying it's a bad day'd be
- 21:22Speaker 3: a thunder Hawk. And our lineman, one of our main linemen,
- 21:27Speaker 3: LB Smith, came running out of the locker room because
- 21:32Speaker 3: he had arrived. Blake came running out of the locker room,
- 21:35Speaker 3: not even completely.
- 21:36Speaker 2: Dressed in uniform.
- 21:37Speaker 3: Came running out of the locker room yelling and screaming
- 21:40Speaker 3: at him and the rest of the team, talking trash,
- 21:43Speaker 3: and it got everybody fired up and we came out swinging.
- 21:48Speaker 1: That's awesome, guys, win this game. I got confidence in you.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Then that gets you into this tournament in Florida. So
- 21:54Speaker 1: this is is this the national tournament or no?
- 21:58Speaker 3: If we win, if we win Saturday, and I'm confident
- 22:00Speaker 3: we'll win too. If we win Saturday, we'll have to
- 22:05Speaker 3: play another team from either Chicago or Michigan. I don't
- 22:11Speaker 3: remember what the other other team was, but we'll have
- 22:15Speaker 3: to play one of those the following Saturday.
- 22:18Speaker 1: So next Saturday, gotcha.
- 22:20Speaker 3: And if we win we went on on that game,
- 22:24Speaker 3: then we'll get to go to Florida in January to
- 22:27Speaker 3: play for a national time.
- 22:29Speaker 2: So we have in our eyes we have.
- 22:31Speaker 3: Three more three more games before we're a nationally ranked team.
- 22:37Speaker 3: Technically we are nationally ranked by the Florida Standards. We
- 22:41Speaker 3: are ranked I think number fourteen right now. We are
- 22:45Speaker 3: ranked where our name has been put out there, and
- 22:49Speaker 3: you know, we're just going to keep smashing people in
- 22:51Speaker 3: the mouth until for number one.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Absolutely, that's the only way to be pretty wild. That's
- 22:56Speaker 1: a that's a hell of a layoff though in between
- 22:58Speaker 1: gate you know, I mean if when when you guys
- 23:01Speaker 1: win this one, win one.
- 23:02Speaker 3: More and then you got a couple of months, which
- 23:04Speaker 3: you know gives everybody time to uh to heal up
- 23:07Speaker 3: and rest and you know we can we can go
- 23:09Speaker 3: over game plans and everything and a new.
- 23:12Speaker 2: Playbook or whatever.
- 23:14Speaker 3: I know, our our main receiver throughout the season, our
- 23:18Speaker 3: main receiver got hurt.
- 23:19Speaker 2: The game before the championship game.
- 23:22Speaker 3: I think he fractured his ankle or his foot or something,
- 23:26Speaker 3: and uh so he had to miss the championship game.
- 23:29Speaker 3: So it's it's like, uh, it's like losing Antonio Brown
- 23:33Speaker 3: before the Super With the guys that we have, they
- 23:35Speaker 3: uh they stepped up and they were just they were phenomenal.
- 23:40Speaker 3: We had guys making plays left and right that if
- 23:43Speaker 3: you looked at them on the streets, you would never
- 23:44Speaker 3: think that that they would be able to make the
- 23:46Speaker 3: plays that they made, but they they made them. The
- 23:49Speaker 3: old don't judge a book by its cover, right, judge
- 23:51Speaker 3: a man without pads and a helmet.
- 23:53Speaker 1: Doesn't matter how big you are. It's something about you
- 23:56Speaker 1: throw on some equipment. You are instantly feeling like a badass.
- 23:59Speaker 1: You look like a a.
- 24:00Speaker 2: What's that all saying? It's it's not the size of
- 24:02Speaker 2: the dog in the fight. Is the size of the
- 24:04Speaker 2: fight and the dog the.
- 24:04Speaker 3: Guy that that that makes perfect, that fits perfectly. John Robin,
- 24:09Speaker 3: I think I just pushed his last name, but John
- 24:11Speaker 3: he if you look at this.
- 24:13Speaker 2: Guy, he's like six.
- 24:15Speaker 3: Foot one, he's probably one hundred and fifty pounds, so
- 24:21Speaker 3: he's he's a toss leindard.
- 24:23Speaker 2: He he has.
- 24:24Speaker 3: No problem lowering his shoulder against massive guys, like just
- 24:28Speaker 3: ridiculously sized guys that you know, that's pretty much the
- 24:31Speaker 3: mentality of everybody on the team is that you can't
- 24:33Speaker 3: be afraid of.
- 24:34Speaker 1: Anything, especially when you guys want to be nationally ranked
- 24:37Speaker 1: and you guys come in. It's there's a lot of
- 24:39Speaker 1: leagues in the summertime league this and that. This is
- 24:41Speaker 1: a semi pro league with a bunch of guys the
- 24:44Speaker 1: passion to play, and you guys aren't coming in just
- 24:47Speaker 1: you know, accepting mediocricy. You guys are coming in with
- 24:51Speaker 1: a goal to not only be the national champion, to
- 24:53Speaker 1: maintain these national ranks and put your name in there
- 24:56Speaker 1: and hopefully, you know, you guys continue to do well
- 24:58Speaker 1: and you're gonna maybe We started getting these guys from
- 25:01Speaker 1: other teams that are like, you know what I want.
- 25:03Speaker 1: I want to be a part of this program. How
- 25:05Speaker 1: can I try out? How can I try to get
- 25:06Speaker 1: a spot on this.
- 25:07Speaker 3: And that's actually what happened this season. We didn't we
- 25:11Speaker 3: never recruit, so we had a couple of guys come
- 25:14Speaker 3: over from another team, three guys and specifically, and they
- 25:18Speaker 3: took our our line to a whole new level, along
- 25:23Speaker 3: with our offensive line coach who came in and just
- 25:29Speaker 3: completely like ripped it was almost like a remodel of
- 25:34Speaker 3: our offensive line. He done such a phenomenal job with the.
- 25:40Speaker 2: Change in our line.
- 25:42Speaker 3: And I think our line is averaging at like three
- 25:48Speaker 3: and twenty five to three and forty pounds.
- 25:50Speaker 1: Wowoy.
- 25:52Speaker 3: So yeah, we have we have a massive line and
- 25:56Speaker 3: a running back that can match it. Actually, a couple
- 26:00Speaker 3: of running backs. But our main running back is just
- 26:03Speaker 3: he's so fiery and that line just makes so many
- 26:07Speaker 3: holes for him to push through and gain all.
- 26:11Speaker 2: The yards he can.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Is there a place that you can listen watch yet
- 26:16Speaker 1: coming up? Not yet?
- 26:17Speaker 2: Not yet?
- 26:18Speaker 3: That isn't the worst by myself, I am actually looking
- 26:21Speaker 3: to build a box right now for the football field,
- 26:27Speaker 3: because whenever I tell you that, you know, we're out
- 26:29Speaker 3: in the middle of nowhere. We're literally out in the
- 26:33Speaker 3: middle of nowhere.
- 26:34Speaker 1: I know that feeling. Man, I come from a small
- 26:36Speaker 1: ass town and.
- 26:37Speaker 3: So we I'm looking into building a press box right now.
- 26:42Speaker 3: And mad House is actually based off of my kids.
- 26:48Speaker 3: So I'm taking mad House and turning it into a
- 26:51Speaker 3: media company and it'll cover my gaming, It'll cover the
- 26:57Speaker 3: sports events for the thunder Hawks, and eventually I'm hoping
- 27:01Speaker 3: to make it a league white thing. That way, you know,
- 27:04Speaker 3: it's not just us being uh being spotlighted. That way,
- 27:09Speaker 3: I could have all these guys, you know, having game
- 27:13Speaker 3: film and you know, moving up to the next level
- 27:16Speaker 3: playing arena football, you know, getting drafted by the by
- 27:20Speaker 3: the NFL.
- 27:20Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a great thing, man, That's that's a good vision.
- 27:23Speaker 1: It's it's a good thing. And so what I'm gonna
- 27:24Speaker 1: have to say is, once you guys win, maybe next
- 27:26Speaker 1: week we can have another conversation. You can come in,
- 27:29Speaker 1: tell us about the game, give us a little recaps.
- 27:31Speaker 3: You know, I actually wanted to do something for the
- 27:34Speaker 3: guys on the team that had served in the army. Yeah,
- 27:37Speaker 3: and I reached out the sheep Dog while back and
- 27:41Speaker 3: was trying to get something set up on the podcast
- 27:44Speaker 3: to interview them. Uh As, you know service members playing football,
- 27:49Speaker 3: and you know what kind of a brotherhood that that
- 27:51Speaker 3: start or you know, rekindles.
- 27:53Speaker 1: Absolutely and you always hear articles, you know what I
- 27:55Speaker 1: mean where you know, guys that you know leave the
- 27:57Speaker 1: service and they're so used to the brotherhood, you know,
- 28:00Speaker 1: tend to try to find a sports team because a
- 28:02Speaker 1: sports team, whether it's professional, semi pro or club teams,
- 28:05Speaker 1: you know, that's that's another brotherhood that a lot of
- 28:07Speaker 1: people rely on and that's good for the mental health and.
- 28:10Speaker 3: That that that's where where I'm at with it. You know,
- 28:14Speaker 3: I've gotten a lot of backlash from from relatives over
- 28:18Speaker 3: playing football because you know, they think that, you know,
- 28:21Speaker 3: I'm spending all this time just going out and having fun.
- 28:25Speaker 3: But This is is almost like a getaway, Like it's
- 28:29Speaker 3: it's not a getaway from from what I've got going
- 28:32Speaker 3: at home, It's a getaway.
- 28:33Speaker 2: From from you know, real world stuff.
- 28:36Speaker 3: Like whatever I step out on the field, I don't
- 28:39Speaker 3: have PTSD anymore. Ye rush step out on the field.
- 28:42Speaker 3: You know, nothing that happened in my past matters. As
- 28:45Speaker 3: long as you know I've got me and my brothers.
- 28:47Speaker 2: That's that's all that matters.
- 28:48Speaker 1: Absolutely, And you know what I mean, you see a
- 28:50Speaker 1: lot of people that same scenarios instead of turning into
- 28:53Speaker 1: something positive. That's you know, a football team. Hell, you're
- 28:56Speaker 1: mad house media, you know what I mean. Like you
- 28:58Speaker 1: have so many plans and visions for it, and there's
- 29:00Speaker 1: a lot of people that just can't take that energy
- 29:03Speaker 1: and turn it into something positive. And like you said,
- 29:06Speaker 1: it's a brotherhood. So it's an amazing thing.
- 29:07Speaker 2: And you know it's last year.
- 29:10Speaker 3: I can't I don't feel like we had the same brotherhood.
- 29:13Speaker 3: But this year we we came out and we were
- 29:17Speaker 3: lent by by Alex Smith, and we had egos at first,
- 29:20Speaker 3: but ultimately we came together and we grew as a family.
- 29:25Speaker 3: And anytime you hear us for the work era before
- 29:30Speaker 3: the game, we'll break it down and we'll you know,
- 29:33Speaker 3: go one two three, family, or Alex does this this
- 29:38Speaker 3: little chance it goes to victory. Better than better is
- 29:41Speaker 3: one than all by myself one two three, and everybody.
- 29:44Speaker 2: Says as one.
- 29:45Speaker 3: It's you know, it's really crazy that whenever.
- 29:49Speaker 2: You have fifty something guys just powered together to where.
- 29:52Speaker 3: You can smell each other's on our pits, and you know,
- 29:56Speaker 3: everybody just chanced family, and you know that no matter
- 30:00Speaker 3: what that the guy you know to the right or
- 30:02Speaker 3: left to you is going to fight, you know, the
- 30:05Speaker 3: bone for you.
- 30:06Speaker 2: And it's it's.
- 30:07Speaker 1: Really humbling, it's awesome. And you got brothers for life.
- 30:10Speaker 1: You've got fifty something brothers that you can turn on
- 30:13Speaker 1: turn two for anything, and they can turn to you
- 30:15Speaker 1: for anything. It's it's a great thing. So many people,
- 30:17Speaker 1: as much as they might not like sports, even whether
- 30:20Speaker 1: you're in youth, whether you're in high school, whatever it is,
- 30:22Speaker 1: it's a great thing. It teaches you more than just
- 30:24Speaker 1: a certain game, like it's a life experience.
- 30:27Speaker 3: Right discipline, because you can't, you know, you can't go
- 30:31Speaker 3: out there and cry about everything. You can't punch somebody
- 30:34Speaker 3: in the mouth anytime they disrespect you or anything like that,
- 30:38Speaker 3: you just you know, you have to get back up
- 30:40Speaker 3: and keep going.
- 30:42Speaker 1: Absolutely one quick thing, because you know, on TikTok, I
- 30:45Speaker 1: do my beard laws and I would you rather or questions.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Of the day. Yeah.
- 30:50Speaker 1: So you know a lot of times you don't always
- 30:52Speaker 1: have to respond on TikTok, and a lot of people don't.
- 30:55Speaker 1: But now that I got you on a podcast, you
- 30:56Speaker 1: have to answer. And I've made sure to make sure
- 31:00Speaker 1: they were pretty decent. They were respectable ones, you know.
- 31:03Speaker 1: All right. So first one, you're stuck on a deserted
- 31:05Speaker 1: island for one year, who do you bring with you?
- 31:08Speaker 2: My wife?
- 31:08Speaker 1: Oh, that's the smart answer, my wife.
- 31:10Speaker 3: I I honestly, even even outside of the or outside
- 31:15Speaker 3: of an island, if if I did anything without my wife,
- 31:19Speaker 3: I would be lost.
- 31:20Speaker 2: I would ultimately be lost.
- 31:22Speaker 3: She handles everything, the kids, the bills, everything. You me like,
- 31:29Speaker 3: I wanted to buy a boat like three weeks ago,
- 31:31Speaker 3: and she's like, no, we don't have the money for
- 31:32Speaker 3: that right now. You know, we we got a car
- 31:34Speaker 3: payment coming up, and I'm.
- 31:35Speaker 2: Like, damn, you know, I really want that boat. But
- 31:40Speaker 2: ultimately she keeps me in check. She she keeps me.
- 31:42Speaker 3: Going down, you know, the right right path, And if
- 31:45Speaker 3: I'm stuck on an island, I don't want anybody.
- 31:48Speaker 2: There but her.
- 31:49Speaker 1: That's a solid answer. She's you know what I mean.
- 31:51Speaker 1: You guys are a team, hasn't been a team. You'll
- 31:53Speaker 1: you'll get off that island somehow.
- 31:56Speaker 2: Right, all right?
- 31:57Speaker 1: So would you rather make a penny every time you
- 31:59Speaker 1: took a breath or ten cents every time you blink?
- 32:02Speaker 2: Ten cents? Because I can.
- 32:03Speaker 3: I can blink a lot and not get hyperventilated. But
- 32:08Speaker 3: those pennies aren't gonna rack up quickly whenever you're passed
- 32:11Speaker 3: out on the floor.
- 32:12Speaker 1: Yeah, but those pennies could those You're not gonna blink
- 32:14Speaker 1: in your sleep, and how often do you sleep in
- 32:16Speaker 1: your life?
- 32:16Speaker 2: You're still gonna breathe, that's true. That's true too, But.
- 32:21Speaker 1: Nope, you're you're going blinking, So you're gonna get the ten.
- 32:23Speaker 1: I think I'm gonna try the breathing. Although Beard Blass
- 32:26Speaker 1: is not going to sponsor this event because it sounds
- 32:28Speaker 1: like a terrible investment.
- 32:30Speaker 2: Oh yeah, it is. It is a terrible investment.
- 32:32Speaker 3: You're gonna have a lot of people hyperventilating and blinking
- 32:35Speaker 3: themselves to dead.
- 32:36Speaker 2: All right.
- 32:36Speaker 1: Last one, what's the fiercest animal that you think you
- 32:40Speaker 1: could take in a fight.
- 32:41Speaker 3: The fiercest animal I would probably have to say.
- 32:45Speaker 2: A mountain lion.
- 32:49Speaker 1: Wow, you think you could take a mountain lion?
- 32:51Speaker 3: I I think I could because I'm I'm decently quick
- 32:54Speaker 3: on my feet, I'm pretty pretty good with my hands.
- 32:58Speaker 3: I know it would be stupid for me to go
- 33:00Speaker 3: up against a beer for a gorilla. Yeah, with the
- 33:03Speaker 3: mountain lion, you know, they do have agility. But if
- 33:08Speaker 3: if I've got to use my bear hands, you know
- 33:10Speaker 3: I can. I can at least, you know, hold its
- 33:13Speaker 3: jaw back and you know, poking thighs out or something.
- 33:16Speaker 2: But I think I could. I think I could take.
- 33:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I'd have to go like like coy dog or something.
- 33:22Speaker 1: Is a mountain lion a little tougher than an actual dog?
- 33:25Speaker 3: Plus, uh, I did a little bit of jiu jitsu,
- 33:27Speaker 3: so I learned a couple of things.
- 33:28Speaker 1: There's that. Yeah, you could probably maybe take like a cheetah.
- 33:31Speaker 1: I feel like if you've got a cheetah in there,
- 33:33Speaker 1: as long as they don't run away, and if they
- 33:34Speaker 1: run away, the hell, well you're not going to catch them. Anyways.
- 33:36Speaker 2: Well, I mean there's not much you can do. Try
- 33:38Speaker 2: to climb up a tree, climb up there with you.
- 33:40Speaker 1: Yeah, that would That's well. Like I said, I I
- 33:42Speaker 1: appreciate you taking the time. I think I think it's
- 33:44Speaker 1: get in touch. We'll talk after you, guys, big win,
- 33:47Speaker 1: the best of luck and uh we'll chat soon. Like
- 33:49Speaker 1: I said, thank you very much, and uh, thank yeah absolutely. Man.
- 33:53Speaker 1: All right, ladies and gentlemen, it's town time for beer news.
- 33:55Speaker 1: Typically we'll speak of beards in the news for you know,
- 34:00Speaker 1: positive things, great things. But unfortunately, this is a tragic article.
- 34:06Speaker 1: It's not a very good one, but it's a very
- 34:07Speaker 1: big headline. Texas officer who made headlines for his turbine
- 34:11Speaker 1: and beard was killed in a traffic stop. Sand Deep
- 34:13Speaker 1: sing de Lee Wall was a sheriff's deputy in Harris County,
- 34:15Speaker 1: which also included Houston. He had made national headlines being
- 34:19Speaker 1: granted permission to wear a turbine and a beard is
- 34:21Speaker 1: part of his uniform because of his religion in the
- 34:24Speaker 1: sheriff's department. And you know, obviously there was some positive
- 34:27Speaker 1: feedback from it, there was some negative feedback from it.
- 34:30Speaker 1: But regardless, you know, he was able to wear his
- 34:32Speaker 1: turbine and his beard, which clearly wasn't infecting his job.
- 34:36Speaker 1: So I think it was the right, right decision. But unfortunately,
- 34:38Speaker 1: he was doing a routine traffic stop, just like many
- 34:41Speaker 1: he's done for several years. I think the article said
- 34:44Speaker 1: that he was an off twenty years. Robert Solis, forty
- 34:47Speaker 1: seven decided that, for whatever reason, he just got out
- 34:51Speaker 1: of his vehicle after the officer was walking back to
- 34:54Speaker 1: his car, came up with a gun and shot the
- 34:56Speaker 1: officer in the back, and unfortunately the officer did not
- 34:59Speaker 1: make it from his from the injuries. Solas, forty seven
- 35:02Speaker 1: was arrested in charge with capital murder, which in the
- 35:04Speaker 1: state of Texas could lead to the death penalty. Just
- 35:07Speaker 1: a tragic article, just a tragic story of you know,
- 35:10Speaker 1: just just an act of violence that didn't need to happen.
- 35:13Speaker 1: So let's keep his family, his community, and you know,
- 35:17Speaker 1: everybody that's in fault in your thoughts and prayers, and
- 35:21Speaker 1: you know, hopefully his family his I think the article
- 35:24Speaker 1: said he had three kids. Hopefully they'll be able to grieve,
- 35:26Speaker 1: move on and you know, somehow find some positivity and
- 35:30Speaker 1: just a shitty, shitty tragedy. All right, ladies and gentlemen,
- 35:33Speaker 1: it's now time for one of my favorite segments of
- 35:36Speaker 1: the podcast, the featured here to the day. It's a
- 35:38Speaker 1: wedding this weekend. It was a bunch of people I
- 35:40Speaker 1: didn't quite know, very very great, amazing people. A lot
- 35:44Speaker 1: of people just kept saying, Hey, it's Billy Gibbons. It's
- 35:46Speaker 1: Billy Gibbons. Obviously I'm a much more younger, better looking,
- 35:49Speaker 1: less talented individual, but I said, huh, featured period of
- 35:53Speaker 1: the date, Well, it just makes sense. Billy Gibbons. I mean,
- 35:55Speaker 1: z Eezy Top is celebrating their fifty years of touring playing. Yeah.
- 36:00Speaker 1: Feature Beard of the Day, Billy Gibbons. If you don't
- 36:01Speaker 1: know who Billy Gibbons is, I feel feel really bad
- 36:03Speaker 1: for you. I'll break it down pretty real quick. William
- 36:05Speaker 1: Frederick Gibbons, who's professionally known as Billy Gibbons and the
- 36:08Speaker 1: Reverend Billy F. Gibbons, is an American music singer, songwriter,
- 36:12Speaker 1: record producer, actor. But he's best known for being the
- 36:14Speaker 1: guitarist and lead singer of the American rock band zz Top.
- 36:18Speaker 1: I know recently, I did a TikTok video for a
- 36:21Speaker 1: beard contest that featured the song Legs had some amazing
- 36:25Speaker 1: beautiful women send me videos of their legs for the
- 36:28Speaker 1: for the video obviously likes awkward as fuck trying to
- 36:31Speaker 1: ask a bunch of women like, Hey, this is going
- 36:33Speaker 1: to sound a little weird, bear with me, but do
- 36:35Speaker 1: you mind sending me like a video of your legs?
- 36:38Speaker 1: Most of them were like yeah, whatever. Some of them
- 36:39Speaker 1: are like for what. So I explained it and they're
- 36:41Speaker 1: like absolutely so thank you to you ladies for that.
- 36:44Speaker 1: It did get me into the finals of the Beard contest.
- 36:46Speaker 1: So cez Top coming through. What a great song. What
- 36:49Speaker 1: a great band. I mean, it's a three piece band.
- 36:51Speaker 1: They've been together forever. If you don't know them, check
- 36:54Speaker 1: them out. If you don't feel like checking them out,
- 36:56Speaker 1: I got your back. So Billy Gibbons was in a
- 36:58Speaker 1: couple of other bands other than zz Top. He was
- 37:01Speaker 1: in The Moving Sidewalks, Kings of Chaos, and The Revolting Cocks.
- 37:05Speaker 1: He was also in the TV shows and movies Bones
- 37:10Speaker 1: You're Gonna Miss Me More. Just a beautiful bearded man
- 37:15Speaker 1: known for his beard, but just an amazing guitar player,
- 37:21Speaker 1: one of the greatest, arguably one of the greatest. He
- 37:24Speaker 1: can be seen all over the internet in videos, whether
- 37:26Speaker 1: it's on YouTube or anywhere else, just playing with so
- 37:30Speaker 1: much amazing talents. Everybody wants to be a part, everybody
- 37:33Speaker 1: wants to collaborate. Just have him play music. Hell, most
- 37:37Speaker 1: people just want to be in the same room as
- 37:39Speaker 1: this guy. We could sit here and go on and
- 37:41Speaker 1: on and on of what he's done, what he's accomplished,
- 37:43Speaker 1: but we're not going to Billy Gibbons. If you don't know,
- 37:45Speaker 1: If you want to learn more, just google him. The
- 37:47Speaker 1: guy is a legend. He's the featured Beard of the
- 37:49Speaker 1: Day Billy Gibbons. If you get this, anybody knows Billy Gibbons.
- 37:52Speaker 1: I say it on the show all the time, hoping
- 37:54Speaker 1: that someday someone's gonna listen and be like, yeah, I
- 37:56Speaker 1: can make this happen. So if anybody could put me
- 37:58Speaker 1: in the same room as this guy so we can
- 37:59Speaker 1: get a picture too, with our great beards, that'd be
- 38:01Speaker 1: absolutely amazing. If not, it's understandable. So Billy Gibbons feature
- 38:04Speaker 1: Beard of the Day, the fifth one could be one
- 38:07Speaker 1: of the best ones. To see who the next featured
- 38:09Speaker 1: Beard of the Day is. Check out Beard Lost podcast
- 38:12Speaker 1: episode six. We do the featured beard of the day
