Speeding in restricted zones, using your phone behind the wheel, running red lights... these high-risk offences now carry immediate consequences. The government says rising accident rates and fatalities forced this hand. With advanced camera systems and increased patrols rolling out nationwide, enforcement is becoming real-time. If you're on the road today, this matters... one mistake could cost you your licence on the spot. — — [curious] Also taking effect across the country today... AI-powered red-light cameras are being activated to catch drivers running the rolling red. The $415 instant fine sends a clear message about intersection safety. Combined with the broader traffic crackdown, authorities are signalling zero tolerance for dangerous driving habits that threaten pedestrians and fellow motorists alike. — — [hopeful] On a brighter note, Australian families are receiving some financial relief. From today, eligible households qualify for cash boosts up to $300... a timely support measure as households grapple with rising energy costs heading into summer. The payment arrives as cost-of-living pressures continue to weigh on household budgets across the nation. — — [curious] Looking ahead, there's another regulatory shift coming fast. In just over a week, new social media age restrictions take effect... tightening rules around minimum age access to platforms.
