Speaker 1: all right, welcome back.
• 0:12
Speaker 1: Nfl draft first round reaction.
• 0:16
Speaker 1: We're going to look back on what was, I guess, some interesting.
• 0:20
Speaker 1: The north that was one of the most anticipated sporting events ever, always, so it's always finally nice to get it started.
• 0:29
Speaker 1: I got usual suspects here jimmy reno, fsu insider recruiting analyst, and then I got my miami insider basketball extraordinaire, justin b ball.
• 0:40
Speaker 1: Yeah uh, miami fan, and we'll start it right there.
• 0:44
Speaker 1: Your guy guy Cam Ward, pick number one.
• 0:48
Speaker 3: Everything started right there last night.
• 0:50
Speaker 1: My friend, the most obvious pick, though.
• 0:52
Speaker 1: I mean there was no drama there.
• 0:53
Speaker 1: But one thing I will say I did like his suit.
• 0:56
Speaker 1: Nothing flashy, he had his parents there and I think it's a business decision for the Titans.
• 1:05
Speaker 1: They needed a quarterback.
• 1:06
Speaker 1: I think that's what they got.
• 1:07
Speaker 1: I think they got a serviceable guy.
• 1:09
Speaker 1: I think they upgraded the position based on Bo Callahan, who they previously had.
• 1:18
Speaker 3: People come to Cam Ward's birthday party.
• 1:20
Speaker 2: Yeah, oh, yeah, that's true.
• 1:22
Speaker 2: It was a no-brainer for like the last three months.
• 1:26
Speaker 2: Yeah, that's your guy.
• 1:29
Speaker 2: That's your guy if you're tennessee but you're um.
• 1:32
Speaker 1: I'm sure you're gonna be a little bit of a titans fan now, justin yeah, yeah, I am, I mean, I'm, I can.
• 1:40
Speaker 3: I can halfway explain it without just the cam ward fandom.
• 1:44
Speaker 1: Well, we have to do other things as Dolphin fans, as you obviously know.
• 1:49
Speaker 3: I remember as a little kid, dude, a little kid in the 90s.
• 1:51
Speaker 3: I loved Warren Moon and the Houston Oilers and the running shoot offense.
• 1:58
Speaker 3: Yeah, and those baby blue uniforms, and I'll even give you a Canes tie-in Lorenzo White was their running back Boom, all right, well that was the first pick.
• 2:09
Speaker 1: There you go, cam Ward to the Titans.
• 2:11
Speaker 1: And then it started to get interesting, as right here in North Florida, the Duval Duval, the Jacksonville Jaguars, made a trade to go up and get Travis Hunter giving away their second, their fourth and next year's first.
• 2:32
Speaker 3: I think both teams win honestly.
• 2:34
  Speaker 1: Just first reaction.
• 2:36
Speaker 3: No, dude, no, I really do.
• 2:39
Speaker 1: No, the Jags needed something, that team, they had a new coach, they needed a star.
• 2:44
Speaker 3: And this is a guy who's a a star and this is a guy.
• 2:45
  Speaker 1: This is a guy who's a star and he's a football junkie.
• 2:48
Speaker 2: I don't know if I'd go as far as calling it a win for jacksonville well, you made something.
• 2:55
Speaker 3: They lost their first round pick next year, and let's not pretend that jacksonville is going to be any better than nine and seven well, nine and eight.
• 3:03
Speaker 1: Whatever the guy they have is from the brain they need that first round pick I mean how?
• 3:07
Speaker 3: many, how many weapons do you get?
• 3:09
Speaker 3: Dude, brian thomas was so.
• 3:11
Speaker 3: You don't like that, you don't like to move no, no, not at all nothing.
• 3:15
Speaker 3: The browns yeah, the browns highway robbery dude because the browns passed on abdul carter, who I thought they were going to take, but they got mason graham at five.
• 3:24
Speaker 3: That's who they are on the inside with miles, garrett, yes, which is a great dude.
• 3:28
Speaker 3: The browns robbed the jags I robbed them I, I don't.
• 3:33
Speaker 1: I, I know you're gonna, but that's what, that's the price, and I, I, I want to see it this coach has confidence in his offense and and I think he wanted this is the kind of a guy you're not going to see a unicorn.
• 3:48
  Speaker 1: That's his nickname.
• 3:52
Speaker 3: But on offense, he's not going to be your full-time wide receiver.
• 3:56
Speaker 3: One dude, you're going to get more value out of him as your CB one and you have about 20, 25 plays.
• 4:03
  Speaker 1: I disagree.
• 4:03
Speaker 1: I put him, if anything I'd put a nickel package in there and or something like that.
• 4:10
Speaker 3: I want yeah, that's fine wide receivers.
• 4:13
  Speaker 1: Yeah, he's not.
• 4:13
Speaker 3: He's not a number two draft pick overall at wide receiver dude he's not calvin johnson.
• 4:18
Speaker 3: He's not calvin johnson, bro all right.
• 4:20
Speaker 1: Well, I agree to no way.
• 4:21
Speaker 3: He's not calvin johnson, he's not quichon johnson well, he's not andre johnson, I think.
• 4:26
Speaker 1: How many other johnsons can I bring up?
• 4:28
Speaker 1: Well, I mean, he's travis hunter.
• 4:31
Speaker 3: He's got skills that they do not, he's six foot one, 200 pounds dude.
• 4:35
  Speaker 3: He's a really, really, really.
• 4:37
  Speaker 2: I don't even think he's 200 pounds, he's that much I think it's about 20 pounds heavier than he's he's a threat, he's a threat he's got.
• 4:44
  Speaker 3: He's not a wide receiver.
• 4:45
Speaker 3: One man, yeah, he is.
• 4:46
Speaker 3: No, not in the nfl dude.
• 4:49
Speaker 3: He'll get manhandled by these.
• 4:50
Speaker 3: Uh, badass quarter jalen ramsey would yeah yeah, out of him up and down.
• 4:55
Speaker 2: I don't think they're gonna that the thing with with liam cohen being the head coach is.
• 4:59
Speaker 2: I think he's going to find ways to not have that happen I don't, I don't think there's going to be in any instances of travis hunter going out up top, going up against cb1?
• 5:10
Speaker 2: Uh, because he is, I mean physically, he's going to get dominated.
• 5:15
Speaker 3: Receiver, receiver, receiver, receiver, receiver in the nfl that's not the number.
• 5:20
Speaker 3: Yeah, and you gave up a lot, I disagree and you gave up, he would have been the number one pick if the quarterbacks weren't so desperately needed and overhyped.
• 5:29
Speaker 3: If the quarterbacks weren't Cam Ward.
• 5:32
Speaker 1: Okay, but I'm just saying he was the best player in the draft.
• 5:36
  Speaker 3: He's amazing, I don't think he's a star.
• 5:42
Speaker 1: I think it's something that they needed.
• 5:44
Speaker 1: I like the confidence in the the coach has, and they obviously wanted them and they were.
• 5:51
Speaker 1: They went and got them.
• 5:52
Speaker 2: So let's see it.
• 5:54
Speaker 2: They need, they needed to spark.
• 5:55
Speaker 2: I think that plays a big role.
• 5:56
Speaker 2: Is the coach, the new coach?
• 5:58
Speaker 2: Yeah, and just, I mean you look at Jacksonville dude, this guy's got to do something to sell that team.
• 6:03
  Speaker 1: They.
• 6:04
Speaker 1: I mean you look at Jacksonville, dude.
• 6:05
Speaker 1: This guy's got to do something to sell that team.
• 6:06
Speaker 1: They've already paid Trevor Lawrence.
• 6:08
Speaker 3: You need to be a top five quarterback.
• 6:09
Speaker 3: What do you do?
• 6:11
Speaker 1: You go get him the most dangerous player in the draft, you go get him a guy.
• 6:17
Speaker 1: That's going to make the defense and make the calls that much easier.
• 6:19
Speaker 1: When you have a person that has the ability that Travis has, you're going to know where he is every time as a D coordinator.
• 6:23
Speaker 1: When you have a person that has the ability that Travis has on, you're going to know where he is every time as a D coordinator.
• 6:28
Speaker 1: That's going to open everything up for for.
• 6:31
  Speaker 3: Trevor.
• 6:31
Speaker 3: I absolutely agree, and I and that's what I was saying is that with Travis Hunter now, even though I think they gave up way too much for him, with Travis Hunter, you pair him with Brian Thomas.
• 6:43
Speaker 3: Trevor Lawrence better be a top five quarterback.
• 6:47
  Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 6:48
Speaker 1: That's what they're betting on, and they've already done that.
• 6:50
Speaker 2: Well, I mean, one way or the other, it's a big bet, dude.
• 6:53
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 6:54
Speaker 1: I know, but they've already signed it, so you might as well go for it.
• 6:58
Speaker 1: Yeah, you might as well go for it.
• 6:59
Speaker 1: You might as well give him the players he needs and get it.
• 7:02
Speaker 1: Get a shot, you know, because there's so many picks that you don't hit on.
• 7:09
Speaker 3: And if you think this is the guy and this is the guy that's going to spark your office.
• 7:12
Speaker 1: You're agreed that you know Jacksonville.
• 7:15
Speaker 1: There there was rumors that they were going to leave and all this stuff.
• 7:18
Speaker 2: But they're going to stay and then yeah.
• 7:21
Speaker 1: I know, but this is the Hey're.
• 7:22
  Speaker 1: We're staying here.
• 7:23
Speaker 1: We got you a star.
• 7:24
Speaker 1: This guy could be a generational talent and on the upside here, so I I like the pick by the jags I also think that you know I've been on travis hunter forever.
• 7:35
Speaker 3: I was telling I was saying the heisman for travis hunter day, one of the college football season, before he played a snap.
• 7:41
Speaker 3: I'm a huge travis hunter fan all right I just can't get behind the number two pick.
• 7:47
Speaker 3: Yeah, if you're gonna use them mostly as a wide receiver I think it is man they're gonna use them both ways they're gonna.
• 7:53
Speaker 1: They got a plan for both.
• 7:54
Speaker 1: We'll see how it?
• 7:55
Speaker 1: Happens the fact that this is this is this is why I like to pick is this conversation that we're having right now.
• 8:03
Speaker 2: This brings this great this is great and this is this is gonna.
• 8:04
Speaker 2: I like to pick is this conversation that we're having right now.
• 8:05
Speaker 1: This brings this great, this is great and this is this is gonna be a fuel for people to talk about the jaguars, which nobody does.
• 8:11
Speaker 1: So, yeah, this is this is why I think they needed it, and I and I agree with the decision.
• 8:17
Speaker 1: You have to take bold moves.
• 8:18
Speaker 1: It worked like at the rams.
• 8:20
Speaker 1: It reminds me of what they were doing.
• 8:21
Speaker 1: It's like we got to get players in here and if we know who they are, we have to overpay to do it then that's what we have to do yeah, yeah, what I think I think the rams take kyle mccord in the third or fourth round.
• 8:34
Speaker 3: All right, well, let's move on.
• 8:35
Speaker 1: And then travis under that.
• 8:37
Speaker 1: So it was a fun pick.
• 8:38
Speaker 1: That was probably the story of the draft and it got interesting at uh, number three.
• 8:42
Speaker 1: Um, that's when the best defensive player, carter, was right there and the Giants took him.
• 8:47
Speaker 1: I love that pick.
• 8:49
Speaker 1: That's going to be a scary pass rush.
• 8:50
Speaker 2: They got Brian Burns.
• 8:51
Speaker 2: Oh, you pair him with Thibodeau.
• 8:53
Speaker 1: And Burns and Thibodeau.
• 8:54
  Speaker 1: I mean that's a lot of speed.
• 8:55
Speaker 3: Oh man, it's like the NASCAR line.
• 8:57
  Speaker 1: That's a lot of speed.
• 9:05
  Speaker 2: That's a lot of.
• 9:05
Speaker 3: This is the big defensive tackle they got the big guy in the middle.
• 9:07
  Speaker 3: They got him.
• 9:07
Speaker 1: I can't remember the demarcus lawrence, yeah yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, demarcus lawrence came over last year, well, yeah, they're gonna be wrecking shit giants also made another pick late in the first round, training back up to get mississippi quarterback jackson dart ahead of what was not the big story that everyone's talking about?
• 9:26
Speaker 1: Shador Sanders, not drafted in the first round by the.
• 9:30
Speaker 2: Giants by the Saints or by anybody.
• 9:33
Speaker 3: quarterback Mel Kuyper Jr is a moron yeah, and he lost he actually should have.
• 9:39
Speaker 3: He actually should have taken his own advice when he said if Jimmy Clawson isn't a Hall of Fame quarterback, I will retire, yeah.
• 9:47
Speaker 3: He should have retired.
• 9:49
  Speaker 3: He's a moron.
• 9:50
Speaker 2: Yeah what he meant to say is, I'll just keep doing it and taking money, a little bit of humility for Shador.
• 9:58
Speaker 1: I think I mean the guy.
• 10:02
Speaker 1: I think he can play in the NFL.
• 10:04
Speaker 1: I just think that it's not with everything that comes with it.
• 10:09
Speaker 1: It's not as good as, like his dad did a lot of stuff that I wouldn't want anyone to do and you don't say, but his dad was one of the probably the best corner cover ever so when you're that damn good yeah yeah, right, as a quarterback, no matter how good you are, you don't want to stay, stuff like that.
• 10:24
Speaker 1: And then I don't see he doesn't have that.
• 10:26
Speaker 1: He needs to have the team around him, like in unison, and I just don't see him.
• 10:32
  Speaker 1: I think that's what I, what I saw.
• 10:34
  Speaker 1: It's like people don't.
• 10:35
Speaker 3: Yeah, rally around him.
• 10:37
Speaker 1: We're not gonna draft this guy not, and it was just a combination of things.
• 10:41
Speaker 1: I think people are gonna take him now and you can get them at a value.
• 10:44
Speaker 1: They'd be stupid not to Right.
• 10:47
Speaker 1: And if it doesn't work, you move on.
• 10:49
Speaker 1: Same thing happened to Bo Callahan man Right A few years ago you don't want to bring in.
• 10:58
Speaker 2: Nobody comes to Shador's birthday party Nobody's going to Shador's party, right, yeah, only.
• 11:01
Speaker 2: Travis Hunter, yeah, only Travis Hunter.
• 11:03
Speaker 2: Travis is going to be all the way across the country in Jacksonville I think if he was the dude like he thinks he is he would have got drafted number one regardless.
• 11:18
Speaker 3: You know what I actually thought of last night as he was falling and this reminds me a lot of like my own stupid personal history is.
• 11:29
Speaker 3: I remember Gino Smith's final year at West Virginia when he started off the season with that crazy straight completions record.
• 11:37
Speaker 3: I was like Gino Smith's the best quarterback in the country.
• 11:39
  Speaker 3: It's over.
• 11:40
Speaker 3: And if you listen back to some of the early podcasts this season I was saying should doors and the better quarterback, the better pro prospect and camp yeah and the way, shador fell, and the way Shador fell reminds me of the way that Gino fell, and if you actually look at Gino Smith and Shador Sanders skillset, they're very similar.
• 12:01
Speaker 1: Right, very, very similar possible home for him.
• 12:05
Speaker 1: Maybe go into Oakland, it would be super interesting.
• 12:08
Speaker 1: That's another team that that got gentee in the first round.
• 12:13
Speaker 3: Oh, we called that one too.
• 12:15
Speaker 3: I mean, it makes so much sense with Pete Carroll.
• 12:18
Speaker 1: And they didn't have to trade up to get him Number four pick.
• 12:22
Speaker 2: Number four pick was the lineman Will Campbell Campbell Total Patriots pick.
• 12:28
Speaker 1: Well, you need to protect the quarterback you just drafted.
• 12:31
Speaker 3: You got to protect my boy.
• 12:33
Speaker 2: I actually think the Jets made a good pick with that Mimbu guy out of.
• 12:36
  Speaker 2: Missouri.
• 12:37
Speaker 2: Pretty good offensive lineman I wanted the Niners to have a shot at.
• 12:41
Speaker 2: But I mean, you know whole night was about you.
• 12:46
Speaker 3: There was actually a point in the draft last night that I thought the Niners were going to draft Shador and then not find Purdy.
• 12:52
Speaker 2: Oh my God, how hilarious would that Niners were going to draft Shador and then not find Purdy?
• 12:56
Speaker 3: Oh my God, how hilarious would that have been.
• 12:58
Speaker 3: Right man, but Shador would fit.
• 12:58
Speaker 3: Actually, shador would fit the Shanahan offense.
• 13:01
Speaker 2: He would, he would.
• 13:02
Speaker 2: It's the number one, Just like they don't have any interest in any kind of athletic quarterback.
• 13:10
Speaker 2: It seems Number two, like I knew as soon as he didn't go to the Giants.
• 13:15
Speaker 2: I thought it was the Steelers.
• 13:18
Speaker 3: I thought the Steelers for sure.
• 13:19
Speaker 3: I texted my brother after eating the uptick.
• 13:21
Speaker 3: They did that already, though.
• 13:22
Speaker 1: They did that with Kenny Pickett.
• 13:24
Speaker 1: Same type of quarterback, honestly.
• 13:26
Speaker 2: I think it's the entire league just pretty much given a resounding dude you're not your dad, dad, we're not gonna right put up with that shit yeah you gotta be.
• 13:34
Speaker 3: Yeah, like you're good, you're good.
• 13:36
Speaker 2: But uh, take a lesson from cam ward right, yeah, exactly, and like I think that's why you saw the travis hunter move by, everything like there was no quarterback after cam ward there's, that's a little difference.
• 13:49
Speaker 2: That's why you can get a guy like ej manual drafted in the first round exactly same type of draft where there was nothing there and he walked in and he interviewed his way into the first round.
• 13:59
Speaker 1: So if shador, but shador didn't he's never had that he has his watch and up like the statue of liberty.
• 14:06
Speaker 3: Yeah I mean, it's like how I get most.
• 14:08
Speaker 3: It's like how I get most of my jobs in real life mason graham, not good, but because I'm nice.
• 14:14
Speaker 1: Yeah, Mason Graham D-tackle from Michigan goes to Cleveland when they trade it back.
• 14:19
Speaker 1: That's probably the guy they wanted the whole time, so they get their guy.
• 14:24
Speaker 3: I was hoping he would fall to the Dolphins.
• 14:25
  Speaker 3: Ashton, gentee, armand.
• 14:30
Speaker 1: Mimbo is the Jets pick that Jimmy liked the tackle from Missouri.
• 14:34
Speaker 1: Then you get another receiver or the first technical exclusive receiver for.
• 14:40
Speaker 1: Mcmillan out of Arizona.
• 14:42
  Speaker 1: Drafted by the.
• 14:43
  Speaker 3: Panthers.
• 14:43
Speaker 3: That was a stretch dude.
• 14:45
Speaker 3: I don't know that he's going to be able to get separation.
• 14:49
Speaker 2: Who's the guy from Arkansas a few years ago?
• 14:51
  Speaker 2: Trelon Burks.
• 14:53
Speaker 3: Same type of receiver man.
• 14:55
Speaker 2: They took him first round and the guy's done nothing.
• 14:57
Speaker 2: He can't get open.
• 14:59
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 15:00
Speaker 1: I know, and then the offense tackle the Saints, get Calvin Banks Jr.
• 15:06
Speaker 2: Liked that guy too.
• 15:07
Speaker 1: Yeah, then the Bears get the tight end from Michigan.
• 15:11
Speaker 2: Junior was so pissed, yeah, but he didn't want another tight end.
• 15:15
Speaker 2: It got Cole Komet.
• 15:17
Speaker 1: Yeah, but this is, I know, I know, but this is not a classic tight end.
• 15:20
Speaker 1: No, no, absolutely not.
• 15:21
Speaker 1: This guy is like a wide receiver and a tight end spot.
• 15:23
Speaker 2: Yeah, I told you he's like a flex tight.
• 15:25
Speaker 3: Yeah, you got to get weapons.
• 15:28
Speaker 2: How many Right right, Just load up that arsenal.
• 15:32
Speaker 3: Well, you know, it was DJ Moore, roma Dunze, cole Komet.
• 15:36
  Speaker 2: DeAndre Swift.
• 15:37
Speaker 2: And now, in your first round, pick how about you pick an offensive lineman to protect him.
• 15:42
  Speaker 1: That's a good point, exactly.
• 15:45
Speaker 2: All right, then we go to your Niners.
• 15:45
Speaker 3: I mean, as much as I hate the guy, this is what you do to make him successful.
• 15:48
Speaker 3: Is you get him some protection because he didn't have good protection last year?
• 15:51
Speaker 3: You can have a bunch of weapons.
• 15:54
Speaker 1: Loveland can't block, for shit well, yeah, uh, we'll find out, uh, but he's a big dude, he's got the body for a tight end oh, he's a beast yeah, so uh.
• 16:04
Speaker 1: The the number 11 pick is your 49ers.
• 16:07
Speaker 1: They get mikhail williams edge off the edge of georgia I don't trust him.
• 16:12
  Speaker 2: I don't either, but he's got a freakish wingspan.
• 16:16
  Speaker 2: It's a high pick man.
• 16:17
  Speaker 1: They needed it.
• 16:19
Speaker 2: He's solid against the run.
• 16:21
Speaker 3: Him and Shamar Stewart, I think, are the combine studs that didn't actually produce of this draft.
• 16:28
Speaker 2: Right, and Williams man.
• 16:30
Speaker 2: I'm just hoping that he'll be better than Javon Kinlaw from a few years ago.
• 16:34
  Speaker 2: That was.
• 16:35
Speaker 2: I just need Deion Jordan.
• 16:36
Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's kind of, and at pick 11, it is high, but you know what?
• 16:41
Speaker 2: I don't hate it as much as the pick last year, so I'm counting it as a win.
• 16:45
Speaker 2: There you go, there we go, moving in the right direction there you go.
• 16:48
Speaker 3: Well, take what we can.
• 16:49
Speaker 1: The Cowboys, with the 12th pick, took Tyler Booker, offensive lineman from Alabama Athletic guy.
• 16:56
Speaker 1: This is a good pick.
• 16:56
  Speaker 1: I mean with.
• 16:57
Speaker 3: Jack Martin retiring yeah.
• 17:00
Speaker 1: It's a perfect slide in you needed it, and this guy is a good player.
• 17:04
Speaker 1: You can't really go wrong going O-line, unless you're the Dolphins picking in the first round.
• 17:11
Speaker 3: You're just screwing everything up.
• 17:13
Speaker 2: It's always safe to go O-line.
• 17:15
Speaker 2: Mike McGlinchey at number nine.
• 17:16
  Speaker 2: Oh yeah.
• 17:19
Speaker 3: All right, so let's go to those Dolphins at 13.
• 17:22
Speaker 1: Jimmy likes this pick.
• 17:24
Speaker 1: I do the other D-tackle from Michigan, Kenneth Grant, who you like better than him.
• 17:29
Speaker 2: I mean, I prefer his style of defensive tackle play, but I think it's 1A, 1B with those two guys.
• 17:36
  Speaker 2: They were Miami's.
• 17:38
Speaker 3: I wanted Will Johnson.
• 17:40
Speaker 1: They needed help on the line.
• 17:41
Speaker 1: They've been missing it.
• 17:43
Speaker 3: I wanted Will Johnson.
• 17:45
Speaker 1: Yeah, that would have been a good pick.
• 17:46
Speaker 1: That would have been a good pick too.
• 17:49
Speaker 3: The way it fell.
• 17:49
Speaker 3: I wanted Will Johnson.
• 17:50
Speaker 3: And we actually shouldn't even be discussing defensive end, because Chris Greer should have re-signed Christian Wilkins.
• 17:58
Speaker 3: Well, nobody else wanted Will Johnson.
• 18:01
  Speaker 1: That's the thing.
• 18:01
Speaker 1: He still hasn't even been back.
• 18:02
Speaker 3: Well, that's because he got hurt.
• 18:03
  Speaker 3: That doesn't mean he's bad.
• 18:05
Speaker 1: But I'm saying like this is where you make your money.
• 18:08
Speaker 1: You have to know these little tidbits and try to get value for guys you want.
• 18:12
Speaker 2: You don't want to over pick guy coming on to take to take to get this guy with the dt.
• 18:21
Speaker 3: we overpicked, so it's going to be an overpick either way.
• 18:24
  Speaker 3: Right and I?
• 18:25
Speaker 3: I know that we're trying to deal jaylen ramsey.
• 18:28
Speaker 3: We already lost x and Howard.
• 18:31
Speaker 3: We also lost Javon Holland, our safety.
• 18:35
Speaker 3: So what is more problematic is our corner issue than our defensive tackle issue, because we got Tyler at DT At least we got one badass DT and we're trying to deal our other corners.
• 18:48
Speaker 3: So we need to figure that out.
• 18:50
Speaker 3: If we're going to trade Jalen Ramsey, you know what you trade Ramsey to San Francisco right now for Renardo Green and that Hufanga guy.
• 18:59
Speaker 2: Wait, he's signed somewhere else.
• 19:01
Speaker 2: Shit, yeah, he did.
• 19:03
Speaker 1: We'll go to Indianapolis was next.
• 19:05
Speaker 1: They got another tight end.
• 19:06
Speaker 1: I like this guy, oh they got a steal Tyler Warren.
• 19:09
Speaker 3: They got a steal, they got a perfect fit.
• 19:14
Speaker 1: Classic tight end does it all.
• 19:16
Speaker 1: You can tell this is a whoever coaches like Mike McCarthy kind of guy probably loves this guy.
• 19:20
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 19:21
Speaker 3: This guy does it all, he blocks, he's blocked.
• 19:23
  Speaker 2: He's blocked.
• 19:24
  Speaker 3: He runs routes.
• 19:25
Speaker 1: He does it all Well, indy, he's going there.
• 19:27
  Speaker 1: Good luck.
• 19:28
Speaker 1: Good luck getting passes, though.
• 19:29
Speaker 1: That Penn State-USC game was where tyler warren got his first round pick.
• 19:38
Speaker 1: Well, he'll have he, just he, he quarterbacks duds, as in uh mcpherson and daniel jones all right, uh, let's go to jalon.
• 19:48
Speaker 1: Jalon walker out of georgia to atlanta.
• 19:51
  Speaker 1: I like it.
• 19:52
Speaker 2: They needed that pick I think he's a better player than Williams at 11.
• 19:55
Speaker 2: I was just about to ask.
• 19:56
Speaker 2: That was my next question.
• 19:59
Speaker 1: So Atlanta here with the win.
• 20:01
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 20:02
Speaker 1: These little wins of getting a guy like that when you like him and you don't have to trade up, or a guy that you have valued over a guy who's picked before the guy you have valued ahead, is always a good feeling.
• 20:14
Speaker 1: Atlanta does it here.
• 20:15
Speaker 2: Well, they got to be feeling better than last year because yeah, yeah, they got the most expensive backup quarterback.
• 20:22
Speaker 1: We'll see what happens, yeah they're probably.
• 20:24
Speaker 1: I bet they offload him by the end of the weekend yeah, um, it's just a game of cat and mouse, so no one wants to give away anything.
• 20:32
Speaker 1: So walter nolan d tackle, out of mississippi, going out to the desert, play for the cardinals.
• 20:37
Speaker 1: This was a big dude.
• 20:39
Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's another one of those five.
• 20:43
Speaker 2: He's been making two million dollars since he was a freshman in college yeah, yeah this kid's shit
• 20:52
  Speaker 1: just a guy.
• 20:53
Speaker 1: He's finally made it to the nfl walter nolan um shemar.
• 20:57
Speaker 2: I just remember florida state trying to get him and then right, all these, all these guys, shemar stewart, another guy that that was a huge recruit coming out uh, this was like.
• 21:06
Speaker 3: This was like texas a&m's defensive line three years ago yeah, yeah, they were both the big class.
• 21:11
Speaker 2: yeahM guys the big class that Jimbo hauled in.
• 21:14
Speaker 2: All right, I really like this pick.
• 21:17
Speaker 1: North Dakota State Instead of a quarterback.
• 21:20
Speaker 1: If you're going to go to North Dakota State, get a lineman, okay.
• 21:23
Speaker 1: And this guy I watched some senior bowl.
• 21:26
Speaker 1: This guy killed it.
• 21:28
Speaker 1: He was blocking everybody Right and he looked swift on his feet.
• 21:32
Speaker 1: Physicality looked like something that he wanted to do Can play any position on the line.
• 21:37
Speaker 2: Yeah, my buddy, pat Lilly, up there at NDSU works in the recruiting department.
• 21:43
Speaker 2: This guy is as good as anybody.
• 21:45
Speaker 1: This is a great pick.
• 21:46
Speaker 1: Yeah, this is a great pick for Seattle.
• 21:49
Speaker 3: Yeah, my only question with him um, and you guys just answered it.
• 21:54
Speaker 3: For me is the highlight film.
• 21:56
Speaker 3: Is him mauling a bunch of d2 kids?
• 21:58
Speaker 1: well, that's what I, yeah, and you saw, that's where I went to the.
• 22:01
Speaker 1: He stood out more than never minded me on it.
• 22:05
Speaker 3: I never mind on that dude.
• 22:07
Speaker 3: I mean, I mean like all the people on espn were raving about it and I was like, yeah, but I watched the I.
• 22:13
Speaker 1: I like the senior ball guys and buddies that go there.
• 22:16
Speaker 3: I mean, this is where you get a good comparison.
• 22:18
Speaker 1: You want these guys that want to just take all the reps.
• 22:22
Speaker 1: He just was wanting to play.
• 22:25
Speaker 3: And then can compete.
• 22:26
Speaker 3: Yeah, and he can compete with the D1 team.
• 22:28
Speaker 1: And he can play any position.
• 22:31
Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what you wanted to see.
• 22:32
Speaker 1: Just like you said, at a school where you don't see that kind of talent, you can judge at a position like that faster at these combine things, then you can't say a quarterback, yeah that you trade up for in the first round.
• 22:46
Speaker 1: You mean you trade three drafts for him this guy never lost the game I was like if you're gonna make this pig, it's better than do it like.
• 22:54
Speaker 1: Or a wide receiver.
• 22:55
Speaker 1: That there was a wide receiver the packers got, it's still pretty good for christian wilkins yeah so all right, the packers finally got a first round.
• 23:04
Speaker 3: Yeah, we're gonna get there.
• 23:04
Speaker 3: We're gonna get there.
• 23:05
Speaker 1: That was hilarious yeah, that the whole, the whole crowd, that's all they were waiting for.
• 23:11
Speaker 3: And then you know, yeah, the gm, but they didn't get the best wide receiver.
• 23:16
Speaker 3: Best Best wide receiver in the first round went to the Bucs.
• 23:19
Speaker 1: I thought you were going to say Restrepo.
• 23:20
Speaker 1: He wasn't drafted yet.
• 23:22
Speaker 3: No, of course not, dude.
• 23:23
Speaker 3: He ran like a 4-8 at his pro day.
• 23:26
Speaker 1: I still think the Titans should grab him in the late rounds, but we'll get it.
• 23:30
  Speaker 3: Absolutely dude.
• 23:30
Speaker 3: Somebody needs to steal him in the fifth or sixth.
• 23:43
Speaker 2: He's going gonna be a player yeah, he's a gamer, all right, um, let's get to the bucks, they take the receiver out of ohio state physical guy amike abuku clean clean route runner yeah, very, very developed.
• 23:49
Speaker 3: Yeah, this, he's already a pro yeah, they have things.
• 23:51
Speaker 1: A good style for the bucks.
• 23:53
Speaker 1: You know they seem like a physical it's a perfect fit.
• 23:56
Speaker 3: I mean it is an absolute perfect fit.
• 23:59
  Speaker 1: And Mike.
• 23:59
Speaker 1: You got your receivers are getting up there.
• 24:01
Speaker 1: You got guys, but they're getting up there.
• 24:03
Speaker 1: You needed some youth in that room.
• 24:04
Speaker 1: I think it's a good fit, good pick by the Bucs.
• 24:08
Speaker 3: Yeah, it was one of my favorite value slash fit picks of the entire draft.
• 24:15
Speaker 1: Jaday Barron corner out of Texas to the Broncos at 20.
• 24:18
Speaker 2: That's the Thorpe winner.
• 24:22
Speaker 1: He was, I mean, so that's going to be paired up with Zutan.
• 24:25
Speaker 1: So that defense, you know that's Sean Payton doing what he did in New Orleans.
• 24:29
Speaker 1: You got to build up the defense, I'll worry about the offense.
• 24:33
Speaker 3: Dude Broncos, draft Travion Henderson tonight.
• 24:36
Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm calling it dude broncos, draft treyvion henderson tonight derrick harman d tackle out of uh oregon goes to pittsburgh this was the spot that I, if he, was going to go first that was the door this was the spot he had met with the steelers.
• 24:51
Speaker 1: You have a coach in tomlin that can kind of put the clamps on a locker room, but again At this point in his career.
• 24:59
Speaker 2: I don't think he's trying to do that, he's just going back to.
• 25:02
Speaker 1: I'm just going to get D-linemen, yeah.
• 25:03
Speaker 2: Like, listen, if I was a young coach, I brought back Mason Rudolph.
• 25:07
Speaker 2: Right, we're going to go with him.
• 25:08
Speaker 3: You know what we got with him.
• 25:09
  Speaker 3: I'm going to go 10 and 7.
• 25:19
  Speaker 2: 16 and eight.
• 25:21
  Speaker 3: That's what we're doing.
• 25:21
Speaker 3: All right, that's right.
• 25:23
  Speaker 3: No 10-7.
• 25:25
Speaker 1: He's going to get us to 10-7.
• 25:26
Speaker 1: Milk steak in the Chargers.
• 25:29
Speaker 1: Jim Harbaugh, that's a great pick.
• 25:31
Speaker 3: Oh, this was a great pick.
• 25:32
Speaker 1: Amari and Hampton running back at North Carolina Really really good pick.
• 25:36
Speaker 1: I like it too.
• 25:38
Speaker 1: They needed a running back.
• 25:39
Speaker 1: He likes to run the ball.
• 25:41
Speaker 1: This is a guy with quickness and size Good pick.
• 25:45
Speaker 2: He beats the shit out of Florida State.
• 25:46
Speaker 2: He can catch the ball too.
• 25:47
Speaker 1: This is a first-round fantasy pick for fantasy football guys.
• 25:50
Speaker 1: This is a guy that will be on the radar.
• 25:54
Speaker 1: I need to see the chargers get a wide receiver in the second round yeah, yeah, but um, I I they needed a receiver, but when you have the opportunity to get a guy like this, that can't catch.
• 26:05
  Speaker 3: Oh, absolutely yeah.
• 26:06
Speaker 3: No, I'm not bad at the return of the running back return of the running back guys like come back luther burden in the second round the difference he made.
• 26:16
Speaker 1: People are that you.
• 26:18
Speaker 1: You know, just a couple years ago, running backs weren't getting drafted, you know.
• 26:22
Speaker 1: But you can make.
• 26:24
Speaker 3: Jimmy, to what you were saying.
• 26:25
Speaker 3: Luther Burden in the second round.
• 26:27
Speaker 2: Yeah, Luther Burden in the second round.
• 26:29
Speaker 3: Hold on and Elijah Arroyo at tight end from Miami in the third round.
• 26:33
Speaker 3: All right, yeah there you go.
• 26:35
Speaker 3: Now you got Ladd-McConkie.
• 26:43
Speaker 3: Now you got Ladd-McConkie Luther, burden, arroyo and Hampton and your quarterback, justin Herbert.
• 26:46
  Speaker 3: That's a good team.
• 26:48
Speaker 1: Let's get this first round over with Matthew Golden, first ever wide receiver pick in the first round from the Packers since Florida State's own Javon Walker in 2002.
• 26:59
Speaker 3: That was a good pick back there.
• 27:00
Speaker 1: Yeah, the Packers man, the crowd was feeling it.
• 27:04
Speaker 1: The GM came out and made or the VP of operations.
• 27:09
Speaker 2: He gave a speech.
• 27:13
Speaker 1: It's, you know, because of him.
• 27:14
Speaker 1: They had the draft there, so you know he was going to do it.
• 27:18
Speaker 3: And it was a great atmosphere too Like.
• 27:20
  Speaker 1: I don't know.
• 27:20
Speaker 1: I just thought Rodgers was watching.
• 27:26
Speaker 3: Well, if Rodgers was watching, he was happy that the Steelers passed on Shador.
• 27:30
  Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
• 27:31
Speaker 1: Another sign that he might have already had a you know handshake.
• 27:35
Speaker 3: Yeah, his tentacles Right I of that he might have already had a you know handshake his yeah, his tentacles right.
• 27:38
Speaker 1: I mean I could see him and tomlin already saying I'll see you in august yeah, exactly he just doesn't want to practice.
• 27:43
Speaker 1: He's like yeah yeah I know what to do why would you?
• 27:46
Speaker 1: He's like, he's my age man, I mean I barely want to go to work, like I'll be ready all right uh, then we have, uh, donovan jackson guard from ohio state.
• 28:00
  Speaker 1: That's exciting, yeah.
• 28:01
Speaker 1: And then it got interesting new york trades back up in the first round to get jackson dart.
• 28:06
Speaker 1: This was the question of like, why there?
• 28:11
Speaker 1: Do you think that it was another reach?
• 28:15
Speaker 1: Right well, I just well, I'm saying.
• 28:18
Speaker 1: And they must have had a game plan.
• 28:19
Speaker 1: And if there's like, we can do it and we'll just do it, because I just look at the teams drafting behind this pick and I don't see any of them taking a quarterback, but there could have been other teams well, you got cleveland, the beginning of the second yeah, so you're just getting ahead of it and you find the right yeah
• 28:35
Speaker 3: but you also still have shidur available in that draft pool I don't see the point of trading crap away to go draft jackson dart early and I was saying a couple of months ago how much I love jackson dart.
• 28:49
Speaker 3: Well, yeah, but I love.
• 28:51
Speaker 3: I loved him in the second round right.
• 28:53
  Speaker 1: Why didn't you?
• 28:54
Speaker 1: That's what I was trying to get to is, like the based on they must have heard, they must have thought that somebody else was coming up to get them right, there's all the bullshit, rumors that go on, and that's what.
• 29:05
Speaker 2: That's what it's all about jackson dart of the giants.
• 29:07
Speaker 1: He joins what is now a revamped room with the additions of russell wilson and jamis winston to join to DeVito.
• 29:16
Speaker 1: And the most I wish there is, just you know, I'd love to see the quarterback room just for that.
• 29:22
Speaker 3: Well, this is where a hard knock needs to go, right.
• 29:26
Speaker 1: Without question, this will be a.
• 29:28
Speaker 1: So they, they, they addressed it.
• 29:30
Speaker 1: Um, the owner's gotta be hat.
• 29:32
  Speaker 1: He wanted quarterbacks.
• 29:33
Speaker 1: Addressed, you, got everything.
• 29:35
Speaker 1: You went and got the viable free-etering.
• 29:37
Speaker 1: You got the splashy free-etering who's just either hell or high water.
• 29:42
Speaker 1: And then you went up and got a flashy first-round quarterback who can run and throw.
• 29:50
Speaker 3: We got to make a splash.
• 29:52
Speaker 3: Sonny, he did, we got to make a splash.
• 29:53
  Speaker 1: He did.
• 29:54
Speaker 1: The Giants splashed the quarterback room, they splashed it.
• 29:57
Speaker 1: He did, he did.
• 29:58
Speaker 1: The Giants splashed the quarterback room, they splashed it.
• 30:00
Speaker 1: All right, let's round out this first round, we'll get to a couple predictions and what we want to see for the rest of the draft.
• 30:08
Speaker 1: James Pierce Jr, out of Tennessee, goes to the Falcons.
• 30:13
Speaker 1: They trade back up, get another edge rusher.
• 30:15
Speaker 1: So, man, the Falcons went and got it, man talent wise, that's a guy.
• 30:20
  Speaker 2: That's a great pick.
• 30:21
Speaker 2: Yeah, probably could have been first part of the first round you just have some, some off the field questions with them.
• 30:26
Speaker 1: So you got the falcons, went and got two dudes that are starting and homegrown like two two, two sec guys playing right down the road right around from where they grew up I mean, you don't never know on the draft, but on I like this pick by the falcons.
• 30:41
Speaker 1: They needed pass rushers in the dome indoors, think about the young.
• 30:45
Speaker 3: Think about the young team they had.
• 30:47
Speaker 3: They got these pass rushers.
• 30:48
Speaker 3: They got last year they got bijon the year before.
• 30:52
Speaker 3: Yeah, uh, drake, london is still young like.
• 30:55
Speaker 3: They've got a hardcore young group of kids that uh, like the falcons, might be really dangerous in the next year or two well, the bucks have owned that division for about four years now, so we'll see um.
• 31:09
Speaker 1: Let's go to uh baltimore.
• 31:13
Speaker 1: Another bulldog drafted uh malachi starks there's always good safeties in baltimore.
• 31:19
Speaker 2: It seems like they're just.
• 31:20
Speaker 1: This is a classic baltimore pick, baltimore, perfect, take a stud yeah they take a stud that might not have measured as high as everyone else, but has always been a baller in college and they get them.
• 31:30
Speaker 2: They got kyle hamilton, who was like one of the best safeties.
• 31:33
Speaker 1: Yeah he's great and he's got now another that's going to be a good pickup by Baltimore.
• 31:39
Speaker 3: They get a benefit of the doubt based on their draft.
• 31:40
  Speaker 3: It's so Baltimore.
• 31:41
Speaker 3: It's so Baltimore Football player guys.
• 31:46
Speaker 1: They get football player guys.
• 31:47
  Speaker 1: I like it.
• 31:48
Speaker 1: I love their draft strategy.
• 31:49
Speaker 1: Same thing they did with Lamar Jackson.
• 31:53
Speaker 1: We're going to move our offense to get this guy.
• 31:55
  Speaker 1: He's a football guy.
• 31:58
  Speaker 3: That's kind of what I thought with the Jackson-Dart trade-up.
• 32:01
Speaker 3: I was like, oh, this feels like the Lamar Jackson trade-up, but I thought it was going to be Shador.
• 32:09
Speaker 2: What if they just like his athleticism over Shador?
• 32:11
Speaker 1: I think they like the way he runs over Shador.
• 32:13
Speaker 1: I think they want to run that RPO kind of stuff.
• 32:18
Speaker 2: And this is what Jackson sells at.
• 32:20
  Speaker 1: So I don't think it's anything other than that I really don't.
• 32:23
Speaker 1: All right, let's go to Detroit, another Ohio state.
• 32:32
Speaker 1: The D tackle out of Ohio state Ty league Williams is taken here.
• 32:37
Speaker 1: State the D tackle out of Ohio State, tyleek Williams is taken here.
• 32:38
Speaker 1: Then we go, the Washington Commanders go.
• 32:43
Speaker 1: Offensive tackle out of Oregon, josh Connerly.
• 32:46
  Speaker 2: Jr.
• 32:46
  Speaker 2: There you go.
• 32:47
Speaker 2: Start protecting the young team.
• 32:48
  Speaker 3: That's a really smart pick.
• 32:50
Speaker 1: Yep Maxwell Harrison, corner out of Kentucky, is going to Buffalo.
• 32:54
Speaker 1: Jaheed Campbell linebacker, Alabama, is going to the Champs.
• 33:00
