- 1:04Speaker 2: Hello everyone, and welcome back to the Abundant and Aligned podcast.
- 1:06Speaker 2: Thank you so much for hitting play and tuning into another episode.
- 1:10Speaker 2: I'm so excited for today's episode.
- 1:12Speaker 2: I have one of my beautiful clients here with me, chandra, who has been in my world now for well over six months.
- 1:19Speaker 2: She was a student of the Academy and now she's an incredible client inside her empire, and we are sadly coming to the end of our time together and the amount of growth that this woman has had is insane.
- 1:33Speaker 2: So I was like please come onto the show and talk to my audience about everything you've been doing, so that's who I've got here today.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Welcome to the Abundant Airline Podcast.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Thank you, jess, I almost have tears.
- 1:46Speaker 1: This is a big one for me Feels a real honor to be here with you, because this is how I actually got to know you and heard you for the first time.
- 1:56Speaker 1: So it made, it's changed my life.
- 1:59Speaker 1: So to be here and being a voice on it is yeah, it's quite an impact.
- 2:06Speaker 2: That's right.
- 2:06Speaker 2: I do remember when you first emailed me and you were like I've listened to so many of your episodes.
- 2:10Speaker 2: I feel like I already know you I'm doing the Academy and I'd never connected with you before.
- 2:15Speaker 2: But I was like, oh my God, yes, let's do this, yes absolutely yeah.
- 2:19Speaker 1: My best friend, actually, shannon, met you and then said hey, listen to this woman, woman.
- 2:24Speaker 1: And what struck me was that you were an Australian woman.
- 2:28Speaker 1: So many of the podcasts and different women I listen to are usually in America, where I'm from, so that's a nice nostalgia.
- 2:36Speaker 1: But I really wanted to hear some, something grounded in Australia and when I heard you for the first time, it just struck all those cores and my whole body was just like yes, and I was addicted.
- 2:49Speaker 2: So yeah, I know, isn't it funny how you resonate with certain accents like just byproduct?
- 2:56Speaker 2: A few women have actually reached out to me and said I know this is so weird, but one of the reasons I love your show is because of your Australian accent.
- 3:04Speaker 2: But it is a different.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Yeah, obviously it sounds different, but we talk different and we use different words, like I guess it does make sense.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Yes, well, when I first traveled to Australia when I was 21, I remember calling my mom up and clearly saying we, we all speak English, but it's actually a different language, and then just telling her the jargon which my dad still to this day has, this kind of like lot running loop of.
- 3:33Speaker 1: You know, I went to the servo to get some petty and picked up some grog and tucker and he thinks like he is like a champion, right, he takes that back and he tells all his friends and family and he just cracks up.
- 3:45Speaker 1: I was gonna say I'm sure he finds it so funny.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Oh, he thinks that back and he tells all his friends and family and he just cracks up.
- 3:46Speaker 1: I was gonna say I'm sure he finds it so funny oh, he thinks, and he thinks he also has like the lingo, like dad people don't actually say it all together like that I was literally about to say it's so funny the words they think we use we actually don't, or not, in that same sentence yeah, yeah, um.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Well, I'm so, so, so glad that Shannon recommended me to you.
- 4:07Speaker 2: I'm so glad you found the show because it was the start of nine months together, working firstly inside the Academy, and then I literally sent out a quick message when we were coming to the end of the Academy and said her empire is starting soon and you were like I'm on, I'm straight, yeah, I'm in, like, sign me up, absolutely.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I've already made a decision like that.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Whatever you were creating next, I would like to be a part of yeah.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I love that and I love that you've done that for yourself as well.
- 4:38Speaker 2: I'm the biggest advocate on long-term mentorship because it does take a couple of months to warm up to each other.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Long-term mentorship because it does take a couple of months to warm up to each other.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Get to know each other, not just where you're at in life and business, but how you learn and taking information.
- 4:53Speaker 2: So that's why I love when clients do, you know, sign onto her empire or, you know, continue in whatever way, because we can really get deep and really get down to the blocks and the beliefs that were stuck and just needed some time to kind of come to the surface, which we obviously got to unpack today.
- 5:11Speaker 2: But I mean, before we get to that, let's hand the mic over to you.
- 5:14Speaker 2: I'd love for you just to introduce yourself.
- 5:16Speaker 2: I would love for you to start off with a personal intro first, because the energy that you have brought to both of my programs I'm going to miss so much.
- 5:25Speaker 2: So share that with the audience, Share a little bit about who you are, your life and, yeah, your story.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 5:33Speaker 1: It's funny because I knew that you were going to ask something like this and I was like where do I start?
- 5:39Speaker 1: It's easy for me to just ramble off like I've done this.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Here's the different hats I wear.
- 5:44Speaker 1: But I have to start off with these two things that I grew up with as a constant from my dad.
- 5:50Speaker 1: He would always say who are you?
- 5:53Speaker 1: And he deeply meant that.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Now this is, I'm a young child.
- 5:58Speaker 1: I can still remember him asking this and he still asks this to this day.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Is that deeper philosophical question?
- 6:03Speaker 1: And the next thing was he would say you know, day by day, this kind of this melancholy, sicilian, but also very present, right?
- 6:11Speaker 1: So I grew up with this who am I?
- 6:14Speaker 1: And I'd come up with you know, I'm Chandra, you know I'm, at whatever age I was, I'm this.
- 6:19Speaker 1: I'm a soccer player because I was, you know, heavily focused in sports and and I'm a daughter, I'm this.
- 6:25Speaker 1: And he was like who are you?
- 6:26Speaker 1: To always ask that.
- 6:27Speaker 1: So it's funny when I am now going who am I?
- 6:30Speaker 1: And I'm like well, we could get really deep on this, but I'm a Floridian by nature, an Australian at heart, definitely an adventurer through and through.
- 6:43Speaker 1: I'm definitely an adventurer through and through.
- 6:45Speaker 1: I have two amazing children.
- 6:46Speaker 1: I'm a business owner.
- 6:48Speaker 1: I am definitely a campfire enthusiast I've already made two campfires this morning.
- 6:56Speaker 1: I love my chooks, I love my garden.
- 6:59Speaker 1: I'm an aspiring mermaid, probably from just being growing up on the beach, and I am very passionate.
- 7:10Speaker 1: I'm a lover of a lot of things and I think that's probably people would look at me and say you're nurturing, you're passionate, you're energetic.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I love telling stories, but one thing that's always remained true is I have always been comfortable outdoors.
- 7:28Speaker 1: So, while I have had different hats on, the one theme that continues to bring them all together is, I guess, the branch of like being outdoors.
- 7:43Speaker 1: You know, like children always, always getting us outdoors and doing things and just enjoying the simplicity and the greatness of that, and even as a teacher, always bringing the students outdoors, finding ways that we can really, you know, enjoy the learning experiences.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Yeah, with friends, you know the things I love sports, always outdoors.
- 8:06Speaker 1: So that's one thing.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Yeah, wanting to answer this question, I was like, always connecting with nature.
- 8:13Speaker 1: I haven't done any like the extreme stuff.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Like I look at those people go, wow, that's, that is a whole another level of adventure.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Um, but yeah, I wake up every day and I'm a very optimistic person.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Yeah, Okay, if you wanted 2024 to be your most successful year, but some of your goals still feel a little out of reach, whether it was to make more money, start a business, grow your life, grow yourself as a woman in whatever way, then, firstly, you still have time.
- 8:42Speaker 2: Secondly, there's one shift you can make to still make it all possible.
- 8:46Speaker 2: For now, go ahead and register for my free workshop called Recalibrate, which I'm hosting on the 2nd of July.
- 8:53Speaker 2: There will be a replay to those who register and I'll share exactly what you can do to make sure that this year is still everything you want it to be.
- 9:02Speaker 2: So the link to do that is in the show notes below, and I'm looking forward to seeing you.
- 9:07Speaker 2: There you are, and you obviously live in South Australia, and the water down there is freezing.
- 9:15Speaker 2: The amount of photos that you would send didn't matter what time of year it was.
- 9:19Speaker 2: There you were having your morning dip in the ocean, which I love.
- 9:23Speaker 2: I live in Queensland.
- 9:24Speaker 2: The water's way warmer up here and I definitely don't do that enough, but every time I see a photo of you, I'm like I've got to do that more.
- 9:30Speaker 2: It always looks so beautiful.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Or you'll send through a voice note and you can hear your chooks going off in the background or your wind pipes going.
- 9:38Speaker 2: It's a whole sanctuary.
- 9:40Speaker 1: You'll probably get some of that today, there'll be something.
- 9:42Speaker 1: You'll probably get some of that today, there'll be something.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I love it.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Well, now going on to your business.
- 9:52Speaker 2: I mean, they're not going to be surprised when you explain what your business is after sharing that you have a passion for outdoors.
- 9:55Speaker 2: But yeah, what is your business and what is that that you do?
- 9:59Speaker 1: Well, my business is the Bushpods Nature School and it's had a bit of an evolution.
- 10:04Speaker 1: So I had said before I traveled to australia, um, when I was 21, but this has been my home.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Um, I married an australian divorce now, but we raised our kids here.
- 10:17Speaker 1: We decided this was going to be he's he's australian.
- 10:19Speaker 1: So I have been living in south australia probably probably for the last 15 or 16 years and I became a teacher about 12 years ago.
- 10:33Speaker 1: But I should probably back up because I had a very unique upbringing.
- 10:39Speaker 1: I grew up on the property that my mom and dad built a school.
- 10:43Speaker 1: My mom was a business owner and the director of a school and our house was in the back.
- 10:49Speaker 1: There was animals all around and children all around, so teaching and holding space and community is just woven through and it wasn't even something that I was ever grasping towards.
- 11:01Speaker 1: And if anyone ever mentioned, maybe you'll be a teacher.
- 11:04Speaker 1: It was like the biggest joke I had ever heard, like why would I do that?
- 11:08Speaker 1: You know, I grew up around it, you know, but it just came to be that that was the right thing.
- 11:15Speaker 1: I had two young kids before I was 30.
- 11:19Speaker 1: And it was like, okay, where's my degree.
- 11:23Speaker 1: I have a degree in anthropology and fine arts and I was like, how am I going to use that?
- 11:29Speaker 1: Wait, teaching?
- 11:30Speaker 1: I can teach, you know culture and art and you know a bit of this and that to kids.
- 11:35Speaker 1: So I did my master's of teaching and that was, that was a, you know, incredible kind of learning experience and all through it and all through it, all through it, jess, I was like I've got to create something different, because I myself have found the learning process that's given to us very tense and tight, never felt myself, and learning like academic learning was always a real struggle for me.
- 12:06Speaker 1: Um, but I made a decision.
- 12:08Speaker 1: I worked hard and I got those top grades, whether I was in primary school or doing my master's, like I worked so hard but nothing was left of me.
- 12:17Speaker 1: So it was, it was just always, um, kind of took every last bit.
- 12:22Speaker 1: And so now I've got my master's of teaching, I'm working in schools and naturally I was trying to bring kids always outside.
- 12:33Speaker 1: I knew they were, they were so joyful, they naturally engage and there's so much to learn.
- 12:40Speaker 1: I mean, it's like curiosity, central right, and I found that it also broke down like barriers, but whether it was, you know, emotional or language barriers or even kind of the hierarchy that happens within a school, setting teachers and students, and I worked in classes where there was like multi ages, so like I might teach a class of like a reception year one and two, and of course, you have the hierarchy there, but when you're in nature, something else happens and we all become more of a balance, and I would just honed in on that over and over.
- 13:17Speaker 1: And now we're in 2017 and I land what I considered and what everyone else around me considered my dream job at this school with a particular ethos and values.
- 13:31Speaker 1: My kids went there, so I got this permanent job and I was like this is amazing, and we had just bought our first house.
- 13:40Speaker 1: You know, things were in this kind of flow, yet I had signs telling me to do something different, but I ignored them because everything in my outer world was telling me oh, I'm achieving and then I can be worthy of the income, I can be worthy of the status, I can be worthy of my learning and I can be worthy of, like my, you know, learning and education and the attention and the love.
- 14:09Speaker 1: But when you open that door and question yourself, what else is going on here, because I had some health things and there was no answer to them.
- 14:21Speaker 1: It was like, oh, it's just the stress, right that?
- 14:24Speaker 1: That response, your body and I'm like I am in my early thirties, I should not be having, you know, life threatening, what we felt like that, but it wasn't.
- 14:36Speaker 1: It wasn't like that.
- 14:37Speaker 1: I was in so much pain and discomfort and it, and there was no, you know, there was no place to kind of put it except the big, the big elephant in the room which is asking yourself which you spoke about so beautifully on your last podcast like really asking yourself is this working for me, is this good for me?
- 14:57Speaker 1: And keeping that curiosity open, and I'm a very curious person by nature.
- 15:02Speaker 1: So when I asked myself that it was oh, no, yeah, and in that, because I had suppressed it for so long, it was almost like this flood or like the volcano erupting, and so I had a lot of negative things also happen which I at the time was thinking, oh, I'm going through a breakdown.
- 15:27Speaker 1: So that was in 2019.
- 15:32Speaker 1: So I was working at the school, thought it was my dream job.
- 15:35Speaker 1: The rose colored glasses came off.
- 15:37Speaker 1: I started to see it more for what it was.
- 15:38Speaker 1: I started to see myself for what I wanted to do and who I wanted to be in this world.
- 15:43Speaker 1: And that's when I fully opened the floodgates and went what do you actually want?
- 15:49Speaker 1: And I changed my life completely.
- 15:53Speaker 1: I went through divorce.
- 15:54Speaker 1: I was openly trying to find a different way to be a teacher in education, in a very different way that the teachers around me were doing, and because I was questioning it for myself, it made it very uncomfortable for them.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Because the truth was right in front of us and what ended up happening?
- 16:18Speaker 1: I needed to leave that job because it became very toxic, it became very dangerous for me, but it all happened Like all of this change happened in an eruption.
- 16:28Speaker 1: And then, in 2000, at the end of 2019, when I stepped out of that school and was like what am I going to do?
- 16:35Speaker 1: Oh, I'm going to do what I always do with kids I'm going to take them outside.
- 16:40Speaker 1: And I found my mentor and she was a past principal of a school, she was starting Acacia Bush School and I was like great, can I volunteer Soon?
- 16:53Speaker 1: She asked me to join and then, literally the following year, she's like here you have the project.
- 16:58Speaker 1: So, all of a sudden, I was this business owner and I kept saying to myself, well, I'm a teacher, not a business owner.
- 17:04Speaker 1: And I was this business owner and I kept saying to myself, well, I'm a teacher, not a business owner.
- 17:06Speaker 1: And I, and I was trying to convince myself of that right, because, stepping into the business role I would have needed to own that.
- 17:16Speaker 2: A brand new identity you've never had before too.
- 17:19Speaker 1: Yeah, and that scared the shit out of me, but I also know that I'm here to, to offer this, this path for children, for families, to connect with nature in like a holistic way as well.
- 17:33Speaker 1: I've got my teacher hat on, but I've actually had to like unlearn.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Yeah, just be and learn from nature, and that has been one of the greatest journeys of my life.
- 17:45Speaker 2: And so where is that business now?
- 17:47Speaker 2: Oh my gosh.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Well, so 2019, I stepped into, kind of going like, oh, I'm going to step out of the four walls of a school and I'm going to step into the world, into the universe of life.
- 18:08Speaker 1: And so Barb handed the business over to me in 2020.
- 18:14Speaker 1: I met my previous business partner, so I always had someone there.
- 18:19Speaker 1: So I met this incredible, incredible human being, sam, and we had an amazing journey of running this business together, both of us teachers, both of us going okay, we're going to learn this business world together and we did so much important work together, more so on ourselves.
- 18:38Speaker 1: And then this is when I meet you in 2023.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Start the Academy, because I loved everything that I was hearing and I knew inside me that there was something more, but not in that greedy sense, you know like, but there was.
- 19:02Speaker 1: It was something expansive and you were saying everything that was locked away in my hopes and dreams.
- 19:08Speaker 1: You were saying it out loud and I remember one time pausing a podcast and being like did she?
- 19:15Speaker 1: Did she just say that out loud that she wants it all and she can have it all, and that she wants real wealth and she wants to have ease and not work her ass off?
- 19:27Speaker 1: I remember like having to take a bit of, like a moment and not being able to go back and listen to it for maybe an hour or so because, letting that land in me, I was like, oh my god, she's saying what I feel.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Am I allowed to feel that way?
- 19:40Speaker 1: And then it just unraveled.
- 19:42Speaker 2: Wow, Isn't it interesting?
- 19:44Speaker 2: Yeah, Isn't it so interesting?
- 19:49Speaker 2: Like a simple question of like what do I really want?
- 19:50Speaker 2: But we just stop ourself from like fully embracing what the real answer is.
- 19:54Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, and I I've had a unique background.
- 19:57Speaker 1: So I have both of my parents amazing parents, amazing family, incredible sister like have very like respectful, loving, like curious, unique, like sense of ourselves we could be.
- 20:12Speaker 1: We were encouraged.
- 20:13Speaker 1: I have such an amazing family, such an amazing family.
- 20:24Speaker 1: My mom, um, passed away when I was 26 maybe I was 25, no, I was 26 so but she's right here.
- 20:27Speaker 1: She's still right there with me, but my dad and my sister and I have an amazing relationship and I was brought up my parents both spiritual.
- 20:37Speaker 1: My mother practiced Buddhism, my dad another like Eastern spiritual practice and I watched these two amazing human beings really like connect with themselves and so like things like the quantum field, things like you know the incredible breath work that we do and the meditation, like I'm like, oh man, I've been, I've been seeing that stuff since I was like two years old, but I didn't know what to do with it, I didn't know where to place it and you were saying you literally said you know things about meditation.
- 21:14Speaker 1: You were talking about the quantum field and just like just also the feminine side and then the business side and all that you also bring.
- 21:24Speaker 1: I couldn't believe that it was in one place and I was so excited and I remember I was like calling my partner, most supportive, incredible man I've ever met, and I was calling him to say, should I do?
- 21:37Speaker 1: And I was calling my girlfriend, shannon, who referred, you know, me, to listen to you, and I was, you know, wanting to message her, even though she's back in the States, like going like, oh my gosh, I want to do this program.
- 21:48Speaker 1: And then I stopped.
- 21:49Speaker 1: I didn't get a response from them, of them, and I was thinking, wait, chandra, you want to do it.
- 21:54Speaker 1: And I was like, oh shit, if I can't make that decision by myself, I definitely need to do this.
- 21:59Speaker 2: Yeah, or like you end up searching for someone to say no, so then you have an excuse not to do it.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Like you're like this has to feel harder than what it feels right now, like it's such a big yes inside of me.
- 22:12Speaker 2: But we are so programmed for things to not always just be such an easy yes all the time, so we search for reasons why it shouldn't be so interesting just be such an easy yes all the time as we search for reasons why it shouldn't be so interesting.
- 22:21Speaker 1: Yeah, a hundred percent.
- 22:22Speaker 1: And and I knew in my business as well, I knew the busyness of me and that's, I think, one of the first things I was really like focusing on, um, when I started the academy, and which I have continued to, is that the busyness doesn't equal abundance, that the busyness doesn't equal like productivity, and that's's what I was came.
- 22:40Speaker 1: I was like I want to be able to use my energy because I have a lot of it.
- 22:43Speaker 1: I'm so passionate, I know what I'm on about, I'm open to learning, but I want to channel that energy and I just didn't know how.
- 22:52Speaker 1: You know, I had this here and this here and I found you, jess, and you had it in one place and it comes from such an authentic place in you and also I thought, holy shit, I cannot believe how open and vulnerable you are and I respect that so much and I thought, yeah, let's do this.
- 23:15Speaker 1: Yeah, I love that.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Well, like you know, I tell you this all the time I'm so grateful that our paths did cross because you've had such a profound impact in my life, but also my programs as well.
- 23:27Speaker 2: Like I said, you just bring this energy that I'm just obsessed with, um, and I mean you've somewhat touched on, like what you saw in me and the program, before saying yes, but I'd love to know a little bit more about I, I guess where you at, because it sounds like you had this business.
- 23:43Speaker 2: It was moving in the direction you wanted it to go.
- 23:46Speaker 2: You know, you've been brought up in a family where you understood the idea that things are energy and we have this quantum field, so so what made you decide I need to go deeper on myself and, I guess, ultimately work with a mentor to do what you needed to do?
- 24:01Speaker 1: I just found that I was trying things and I would then slip away from them, and we've worked on that, like that self-sabotage, and I would.
- 24:13Speaker 1: I would had before identified myself as this kind of procrastinator and I I kept having these visions of like, this expansion and I guess the connection and the impact that I can make for educators, for parents, for children, in this space that I love so much in nature and in education, and I just needed to do something with it and continually found myself just back in this kind of like, I guess, just back in the same place, you know, like two steps forward, that kind of like two steps back, and I was definitely making progress.
- 24:55Speaker 1: But also, which we had identified with you helped me identify is that I was, I'm ready for the change, but I had a lot of fear attached to change because a few years earlier, the change I had was also linked with trauma, and so I thought, oh, my god, this is going to be another big change.
- 25:16Speaker 1: And I didn't realize my subconscious, you know was was actually had fear of it, like no, no, no, no, we've been through enough.
- 25:22Speaker 1: Just make everything look the same.
- 25:26Speaker 1: And in me the, the internal fight started happening no, no, you got other things to do.
- 25:32Speaker 1: Let's step this up.
- 25:34Speaker 1: And also, I wanted to also start voicing it Like I want to have more ease.
- 25:40Speaker 1: I actually want to do physically less and make a shitload of money.
- 25:44Speaker 1: And I remember the first time I said that was probably around like just the time that I've been listening to you and I was like I want more out of this and to think of myself as still like a kind and loving person, even though I wanted more, that was huge, right, yeah, as women.
- 26:02Speaker 1: And then the work that we've done continuously has been at the ground level, which I don't know there might be even more has been my worthiness.
- 26:14Speaker 2: Which is a big thing that so many women do have, and one that we don't often consider, a reason why we're holding back, as you think.
- 26:22Speaker 2: As you said, we find all these other reasons as why, as to why we're not doing something or things aren't unfolding, but it's like no, it's actually all starting, because we just aren't worthy of the goal.
- 26:32Speaker 2: There's like a thumbs up coming on my it agrees, the computer agrees.
- 26:38Speaker 1: I like that.
- 26:39Speaker 1: Yeah, it's.
- 26:40Speaker 1: It's amazing that.
- 26:41Speaker 1: So I think the thing that I've often brought up around like going, like I'm doing all this stuff but you know the clients aren't coming, the ideal opportunities, the, the wealth that I'm, you know, putting out there and trying to manifest, and it's and I have had lessons happen literally in the space.
- 27:03Speaker 1: I've worked with you, which has been incredible, and I've actually been able to be gentle on myself.
- 27:09Speaker 1: I've actually been able to from the encouragement and the practice that that you've really brought to my life.
- 27:16Speaker 1: Is that no, no, it's, it's going to gonna be okay and you can do this softly and gently.
- 27:21Speaker 1: The change can happen slowly, um, and then in that space of that self-care which you so amazingly teach, and that is that is your jam and mindset and all this.
- 27:36Speaker 1: But that self-care then gave me the time to relax my nervous system and it was like, oh, it's around worthiness, so it doesn't the money, the opportunities, the client, that is not actually what I need to focus on to try to manifest.
- 27:55Speaker 2: It's literally peace and joy and rest, and and then the byproduct of that state is the money, the opportunities and the clients is, is the powerhouse that I am.
- 28:09Speaker 1: Yeah, that's I never, no one would ever doubt my fire, my power, my absolute courage, like keep going, like that would never, ever be a doubt.
- 28:20Speaker 1: But it's actually these qualities which I thought were more the subtle qualities, but actually they're the ground work and I'm still like I'm just touching into them in a in a new way.
- 28:31Speaker 1: I would say.
- 28:32Speaker 1: They're always there, they're in each of us and it is, yeah, really, even just just saying that, just it's really moving.
- 28:40Speaker 1: Yeah, so I think, yeah, it has saved not saved my life, not like my life was going like somewhere else, but like it has brought my life.
- 28:50Speaker 1: It has brought me in front of myself every single day, and that has been challenging at times.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Yeah, and that is one thing you've gotten so good at um is recognizing.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Ooh, that isn't unfolding because I'm doing this or because I'm feeling this way.
- 29:08Speaker 2: Like, for example, doing the podcast interview, you were like I almost didn't want to do this because I almost got in my own way, but you literally just become the observer and you you watched it unfold before you and then you could show up as someone different and I think just being able to do that is so, so, so powerful, because for so many of us, we just live on autopilot and we show up certain ways, we continue with these patterns and then we keep seeing the same things unfold and we're like I don't why, why is this happening this way?
- 29:38Speaker 2: But to be able to actually be the observer of how you're showing up and those patterns and then get in there and interrupt them, it's so, so, so powerful.
- 29:46Speaker 2: And you have gotten really, really good at that.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Like before you can even finish a sentence, you'll go oh, wait, a second, that was me, about to be the old me Like let's let me just reframe that, yeah it.
- 29:58Speaker 1: Yeah, it's super humbling, and even now so, with your encouragement and help, I have just literally less than 24 hours ago, launched a major project that I've been very passionate and working on, and even in that time my body was resisting, because I know it's going to be a huge pivot in my business and the access that the children are able to now come and have at Bush Pods, I know, is just going to open up so many worlds, so many opportunities, so much wealth and just so much goodness for so many people.
- 30:45Speaker 1: And I was, yeah, even though it sounds all wonderful, you and I have worked very closely on like why am I making all these reasons not to do it?
- 30:56Speaker 1: And I and one of the things I identified was I really like just can roll around in the anticipation oh, what a high that gives you and what a crash, right yeah, yeah, like your body becomes addicted to the feelings that is created when you are putting things off.
- 31:13Speaker 2: Um, and you know this can go for not just putting things off, you know to those who are listening, but it's like if something you're doing or not doing generates a feeling and you do that over and over again, your body becomes addicted to that feeling, just like a drug.
- 31:25Speaker 2: So it's going to your subconscious mind is going to want to repeat those patterns, so that it gets its hit of, in the case that you're talking about, that anticipation, that adrenaline of like Ooh, you know it's still in the future, as opposed to living and breathing it right here in the now yeah, absolutely.
- 31:41Speaker 1: And so in the lead up to this launch, um, even be on the podcast.
- 31:46Speaker 1: Like my body has done its thing.
- 31:48Speaker 1: It goes like, oh, you're not, you're not well now, you have a cold.
- 31:51Speaker 1: You probably like rest up, you can be outside all tomorrow with the kids.
- 31:55Speaker 1: Like it has given me so many opportunities to just literally like stay in bed and, like you know, get the lemon and honey tea and just, yeah, sun, go with the dog and rest up.
- 32:10Speaker 1: And I have had to consciously say I, I see that that's what you do and I'm right here and we'll get the honey lemon tea if you need.
- 32:19Speaker 1: But I'm going to keep going with this momentum and we're going to be okay like I've had to literally say this to myself, and sometimes a lot, sometimes like in a row and like or what do you need here?
- 32:30Speaker 1: So again, bringing that curiosity, asking myself that, like I would a child, you know, what do you need here?
- 32:39Speaker 2: yeah here, yeah, yeah, and it's like yeah, cause there's a reason why your body does that pullback.
- 32:43Speaker 2: Right, and we talk about this a lot in my world You're either trying to avoid something, you're scared of something, or you're just about to create some change and, as you said, if change in the past has been so chaotic, your body's like we do not want that.
- 32:57Speaker 2: It doesn't know that these changes are going to be different.
- 32:59Speaker 2: It just has associated change with chaos and it's like no, I'd love for you just to touch.
- 33:05Speaker 2: You mentioned there that you know you are still feeling that pullback within your body and let's say it's a physical sickness.
- 33:10Speaker 2: You're still doing what you need to do to nurture your body, but you're still continuing the momentum.
- 33:15Speaker 2: If you could share a little bit like what you're doing in that case, because that is really important.
- 33:19Speaker 2: You know, yes, we self-sabotage and that could look like physically getting sick, but I'm never one to sit here and say don't care, ignore the physical symptoms, get back on the train.
- 33:29Speaker 2: You know, you've obviously got to nurture, as you said, ask what's going on here, how can I help you but still continue with a little bit of momentum.
- 33:37Speaker 2: So, if you can like, is there things that you do now to like try and do both.
- 33:43Speaker 1: yeah, yeah, no, that's what I, that's what I remember when you spoke about this many months ago and I think you yourself were talking about your own experience, and when things come up and I really resonated with that, like oh, oh yeah, that can kind of stop you, but actually, what's actually going on here?
- 34:02Speaker 1: And the gentleness but like no, I'm going to, I'm going to like asking myself and making sure that feels good.
- 34:09Speaker 1: I think that's one of the things I love.
- 34:12Speaker 1: I love doing.
- 34:13Speaker 1: I've loved learning that from you and I love the way inside her empire with the other women, when you ask us that like you know what does it?
- 34:23Speaker 1: As long as it feels good, like truly good, not like oh, the worthiness stuff around good or the busyness stuff around good, but like from that deep spot.
- 34:31Speaker 1: And so when I've had the, the wobbles and uh, I definitely just get those things that do comfort me, which is that cup of tea in the hot water bottle.
- 34:43Speaker 1: Um, I love my home and so, like there's many places to be that are just so comforting and just the journaling, the quieting down the mind and the meditating have been so important to use.
- 35:00Speaker 1: It's that skill set, you know, that toolbox.
- 35:03Speaker 1: That has become my daily practice.
- 35:05Speaker 1: So it's not like a random thing, like oh, now I'm getting wobbly or I'm feeling unwell, I'll do meditation, like for me.
- 35:15Speaker 1: I mean, some people can drop in like that but it has become my daily self-care and so I can ask myself anytime what do you need?
- 35:24Speaker 1: But often, when you just give it a little bit of like I'm here, I'm here and it's like going back to that inner child, right, that yeah, what do you need here?
- 35:35Speaker 1: Are you actually?
- 35:36Speaker 1: Is this because you're scared, like?
- 35:38Speaker 1: I found myself asking myself that, like, are you, are you nervous about?
- 35:41Speaker 1: Like what's, what's going on?
- 35:43Speaker 1: And then sometimes it's just like a movement will come in my body, like a sensation, and then, and then that feeling is gone.
- 35:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I love that you called it your inner child too and doing a sense of grounding, which is so important for everyone.
- 35:58Speaker 2: Listening, Like, as you go for these big goals and you create these changes, always just having one toe in your normal life and we talk about that a lot in the academy like finding whatever that looks like for you where you could be stepping into your most successful, abundant, wealthy self 99% of the time.
- 36:16Speaker 2: But there's still just that one thing you're doing that reminds you of your old self, you know, the one that you're so, so familiar with, and some of the examples that come up when we talk about that grounding exercise is so, so different, but it's just like still just doing that one thing that's like, oh, this reminds me of my old identity.
- 36:34Speaker 2: It just is so powerful in regulating your nervous system and, as you said, making sure you're constantly checking in with like are you okay?
- 36:41Speaker 2: Like what can we do?
- 36:42Speaker 2: That just feels like home for us.
- 36:44Speaker 2: While we are expanding, we're still us.
- 36:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:47Speaker 1: I think also now working from myself, it is something you've helped me, like with the language to think about, to ask myself because I think, oh, I'm not well, then the fear of like I'll have to like let everyone know, I'll have to rebook or refund, I'll disappoint people.
- 37:07Speaker 1: And so you really helped me with the understanding of going, wait, this is my business.
- 37:13Speaker 1: I'm actually creating a culture of understanding.
- 37:16Speaker 1: I'm creating a culture of, you know, putting yourself first, putting your health first, and so I have also that practice in going and reminding myself wait, I'll say to myself like, wait, chandra, if you need to have tomorrow off, you need to have the next week off.
- 37:35Speaker 1: You can let your families know and they will be so understanding, they respect that about you.
- 37:41Speaker 1: You're not going to lose anything.
- 37:44Speaker 1: And so that's probably been also a daily practice of mine.
- 37:48Speaker 1: If I do kind of tip into that fear of okay, what if I do get sick?
- 37:53Speaker 1: and then what you know, and it just kind of rambles on so I've had to.
- 37:56Speaker 1: I kind of like I'm closing the door to those things.
- 37:59Speaker 1: Sometimes they creep through.
- 38:01Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 38:01Speaker 2: And that goes for everything like changing what this is going to eventuate into.
- 38:06Speaker 2: And we make so many stories up in our mind of if I do this, it's going to equal this, or if I don't do this, it's going to mean this.
- 38:14Speaker 2: It's like you get to change what it means and what it creates and the story that unfolds.
- 38:18Speaker 2: And yeah, as you just said, like you change that narrative of, instead of I call in sick and I disappoint everyone and they go somewhere else and it's the end of my business, and oh my God, it's like I call in sick.
- 38:30Speaker 2: They say, oh my God, I hope you feel better soon.
- 38:32Speaker 2: We look forward to the session.
- 38:34Speaker 2: The end, like changing what things mean is something that we all forget to do, but we create our story here and at any given moment, you get to choose something different.
- 38:45Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 38:46Speaker 1: And do you know what?
- 38:47Speaker 1: I remember when you said that, exactly what you said like your families are going to be so understanding, and I was like, wait, they already are.
- 38:54Speaker 1: Yeah, that's right, they're actually very encouraging for me to rest up and they'll see me in a week Like they actually already are.
- 39:02Speaker 1: And so just resting and like going, wow, I've created that already.
- 39:06Speaker 1: Okay, I can actually rest easy in that, and being gentle with myself is a huge thing that I've been able to practice.
- 39:15Speaker 1: You know, with your support, and I think you hold us in the courses, you hold us accountable.
- 39:26Speaker 1: My um, I said to my sister.
- 39:28Speaker 1: I said jess holds up a mirror to us.
- 39:32Speaker 1: She's strong enough in herself and she's also authentic in herself and constantly like working on herself.
- 39:40Speaker 1: So she has the inner strength to hold up a mirror for someone else, and that has been the most incredible transformation.
- 39:51Speaker 1: Now I can choose whether to look in that mirror.
- 39:53Speaker 1: Right, and finally I have.
- 39:56Speaker 1: I feel like I've glanced at it at different points in my life, but this time I'm doing it without it being traumatic.
- 40:03Speaker 1: I'm making change without the outer forces like pushing in on me, without me having huge health kind of concerns, and that is so empowering and I would say I tell my kids you can do anything, you can have anything, you can be anything.
- 40:21Speaker 1: But if I wasn't doing it myself I would be the biggest hypocrite and I want actually to be someone that is honest and true to myself and to my children.
- 40:32Speaker 1: So I better do it and I want to do it.
- 40:36Speaker 1: I want to do the work.
- 40:38Speaker 2: I love what you said just then, though, about you're changing how change feels, and you've got two situations here where you've created change and it was traumatic and chaotic and there was a lot going on, and this time around, you're doing it different.
- 40:52Speaker 2: You're still creating change, but you're directing how it unfolds for you, how it feels as you're doing it, and you're making sure that you're regulating your nervous system while you're doing it, which is something that's so important.
- 41:03Speaker 2: You know you have a big week at work.
- 41:05Speaker 2: You will launch this new program, but then you'll make sure that you do all of your incredible self-care practices to bring you back down, which is so important for not just women in business, but anyone striving for goals.
- 41:17Speaker 2: We need to remember that we need this like accelerator break, accelerator break, and I know it's very easy just to keep the accelerator on because we're like but I want more, I want more money, I want the success, the clients, and, sadly enough, that is very much programmed in us that in order to have more, we need to do more.
- 41:34Speaker 2: But you know you guys know by now this show and all of my programs are very much about no like.
- 41:40Speaker 2: You need to apply that break just as much as the accelerator, and by doing that every time you apply the accelerator, you actually go way further accelerator, you actually go way further, a hundred percent.
- 41:53Speaker 1: Yes, that is.
- 41:53Speaker 1: That's probably been the the biggest thing that really has encompassed my time.
- 41:57Speaker 1: Well, actually, there's so much actually, but that's probably been one of the biggest, biggest things.
- 42:01Speaker 1: The lessons is that the busyness does not equal what we, what we hope and what we're also told in our society and our families.
- 42:09Speaker 1: Right, um, we have to actually ask ourselves what we want that to look like and when I because I really pride myself on like being able to get shit done like that's my whole love language is acts of service is the doing I really identified?
- 42:26Speaker 1: So, like going in and seeing myself in a different way has actually been really amazing, but also scary.
- 42:33Speaker 1: I'm like well, who am I going to be?
- 42:35Speaker 1: And that's what you do time and time again so seamlessly is, you hold up the mirror and you ask us a question and it never has judgment.
- 42:44Speaker 1: It is just out of curiosity.
- 42:46Speaker 1: And in the academy and in her empire, where we have that real one-on-one contact with you and with the other women in the group, which is such a blessing in my life, we have a choice to answer those questions or not.
- 43:03Speaker 1: I mean, I've literally gone in our like in our chat group I've said something.
- 43:06Speaker 1: You responded with some questions, some ideas, and I've been like whoop, oh that whoop, I don't know if I'm ready to go there.
- 43:14Speaker 1: Oh, like, and then I'm like, wait a second, this is the time I have with you.
- 43:22Speaker 1: It is not endless, and I have worked hard in myself and also to make the money to pay for it, and I value it.
- 43:32Speaker 1: The amount of free stuff I've done, which has been amazing, but you just don't.
- 43:38Speaker 1: You just don't value it.
- 43:40Speaker 1: I know you talk about that like putting your price as it is and then increasing it because you bring, but also the women in your world value it.
- 43:49Speaker 1: And it's incredible the change that I've gone through because I have yeah, yeah.
- 43:58Speaker 2: Well, on all of that note, the academy is opening up very, very soon.
- 44:02Speaker 2: What would you say to someone who is on the fence about joining, hovering over that button, as we all do when we're about to make an investment?
- 44:09Speaker 2: What's some wisdom or some words you have for those women?
- 44:14Speaker 1: Ask yourself what you want, I think that real question and ask yourself that and answer yourself that without like what if you already had the money in your bank account for that?
- 44:29Speaker 1: What if you had the time and the support of whoever you needed around you?
- 44:35Speaker 1: If you had all that, what would your answer be?
- 44:39Speaker 1: And I guarantee it would be yes, because if you're in your world, jess, like you're, you're, you're wanting more of that and all those things will be filled.
- 44:50Speaker 1: The money, money you will.
- 44:52Speaker 1: It will come to you because that's part of this process that we go through.
- 44:57Speaker 1: You, you will create, you will start to put boundaries on your time and your energy and you will start to create time to actually go in inward and do this work, do the journaling, like, be a part of the, the workshops, and you will also attract the people who you want in your life and so, like I mean there might be other things that people might go.
- 45:23Speaker 1: Oh no, I need this, I need that.
- 45:24Speaker 1: But if you had all that, like that's what's coming, or I should say that's what's there, and and you just kind of I love we've used that word like pivot or the thermostat and I love it.
- 45:35Speaker 1: It's just like it's just a few degrees that way, right, you know, it's not that much.
- 45:41Speaker 1: And then it's like oh my gosh, it can change everything, change everything and it's and whoever is listening, if they're going, should I?
- 45:51Speaker 1: yes, you should, because it's for you, it's for, it's for yourself and there's no greater good we can give to others than looking after ourself and I can say that and I have said that and I preach that, and I work with so many families, I work with a lot of of mothers and I'm always like you know, look after yourself.
- 46:12Speaker 1: But it is truly the deepest act of service you could do, for what we always look to for others.
- 46:20Speaker 1: Right, we always wanted to do things forever, or prove things, or look after yourself and be in Jess's world and you will not regret it.
- 46:28Speaker 2: Yay, amen, amen.
- 46:31Speaker 2: I love that Well, thank you so much for your time today.
- 46:35Speaker 2: Thank you for saying yes at that very first enrollment inside the academy and just being a part of my world.
- 46:41Speaker 2: We both keep saying this it's going to be so sad when her empire actually ends, but I know for sure it would not be the end of our friendship and the connection that we've made Like I cannot wait to meet you in person.
- 46:50Speaker 2: The end of our friendship and the connection that we've made, like I cannot wait to meet you in person one day.
- 46:54Speaker 1: Your live event.
- 46:55Speaker 1: I've already, I've already written it down, Like when you do it, you know.
- 47:00Speaker 2: I love it.
- 47:01Speaker 2: Well, make sure you go and check out everything that Chandra is doing.
- 47:06Speaker 2: She is such, just the most vibrant person to have on your page.
- 47:11Speaker 2: Um, follow her business.
- 47:12Speaker 2: I will link it all in the show notes below.
- 47:14Speaker 2: And if you are local down in south australia, um, reach out about getting your kitties involved with this incredible opportunity.
- 47:23Speaker 2: Like it's.
- 47:23Speaker 2: I think it's just the coolest business model, so cool.
- 47:26Speaker 2: So I'm sure, yeah, you'd be available to answer any questions if they reach out.
- 47:29Speaker 2: Absolutely, yeah, cool.
- 47:31Speaker 2: Well, thank you for being here, thank you for sharing your story, thank you, and, to those who are tuning in, thank you for being here and I will talk to you in the next episode.
