• 0:43
Speaker 1: Thanks so much for joining us for our live show on this Saturday morning.
• 0:46
Speaker 1: It's the first full day of summer, yep, and if you need a reminder, just open the front door Exactly, at least around these parts.
• 0:55
Speaker 1: Well, we had a great time down in up in Granbury there you go Last week, and we had some great guests, and the one that stands out in my mind is the lady that had the Pontiac Firebird Trans Am yeah, white, yeah, and she was more fun than a barrel of monkeys, yeah.
• 1:14
Speaker 2: No, it's not her only one.
• 1:16
  Speaker 2: She's a hot rodder.
• 1:16
Speaker 2: Well, she and her husband, yeah.
• 1:19
Speaker 1: Yeah, and it was a real treat to talk to her.
• 1:24
Speaker 1: We had a great time and all was good.
• 1:26
Speaker 1: Did we go to dinner?
• 1:29
Speaker 1: We went on Friday night.
• 1:32
Speaker 2: Yeah, Friday night we went Italian To Vito's, vito's, vito's, vito's.
• 1:37
Speaker 2: Yeah, corleone Got the three-finger special.
• 1:40
Speaker 2: Yeah, vito, the three finger, special, three fingers.
• 1:49
Speaker 1: But it was good.
• 1:50
Speaker 1: Priced right, that's a five hour trip up there by car for us, and that's not Lollygagging around.
• 1:59
Speaker 2: No, you got a couple of potty stops and snacks.
• 2:03
Speaker 1: But what did that take?
• 2:03
Speaker 1: Maybe a total of 20 minutes, maybe yeah at the most.
• 2:07
Speaker 1: But anyway, we made it back and all is well, All right.
• 2:10
Speaker 1: I want to do our story of the week.
• 2:12
Speaker 1: Shall we get right to it.
• 2:13
  Speaker 3: Do it?
• 2:13
Speaker 3: I think we should.
• 2:14
Speaker 1: This is a story that has made the Internet.
• 2:16
Speaker 1: You may or may not have read or heard about it.
• 2:19
Speaker 1: This particular one is from Automotive News and it goes like this how to amp up the most powerful Chevrolet Corvette ever Electrify it.
• 2:30
Speaker 1: By combining the Corvette ZR1's twin-turbo V8 with a hybrid e-raise, electrified all-wheel drive system, chevy has stretched the performance chops of its flagship sports car even higher with the 2026 Corvette ZR1X.
• 2:47
Speaker 1: With 1,250 horsepower, chevy says the ZR1X can speed past all other mid-engine eighth-generation Corvette variants from the jump, with estimated zero to 60 mile-an-hour acceleration in less than two seconds.
• 3:04
  Speaker 1: Two.
• 3:05
Speaker 1: Why two seconds Two?
• 3:06
Speaker 1: Why Two seconds Exactly?
• 3:08
Speaker 1: Why do you need that and when would you ever use that, except you were drag racing or something?
• 3:12
Speaker 1: Zr1, which was revealed last year and had been Chevy's most powerful production Corvette, has a zero to 60 time of 2.3 seconds.
• 3:21
Speaker 1: The two share a top speed I'm sure it's governed limited to 233 miles an hour.
• 3:30
Speaker 2: Chevy said Gee whiz, I don't want it.
• 3:31
Speaker 1: Then the system's electric motor offers an additional 186 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque.
• 3:39
Speaker 1: That's in addition to that's 26 more horsepower and 20 more pound-feet of torque than the E-Ray, and does not need to be plugged in to recharge, instead drawing regenerative power from the front drive unit.
• 3:52
Speaker 1: The front and rear propulsion systems are not connected other than via computer.
• 3:58
Speaker 1: I'm sure Drivers can use a charge plus button for greater endurance while lapping on a track while push to pass delivers maximum power at once.
• 4:11
Speaker 1: A new performance traction management code, ptm Pro, disables traction and stability control when driving on a track.
• 4:21
Speaker 1: That I would need it most.
• 4:24
Speaker 1: And with additional power comes enhanced brakes.
• 4:27
Speaker 1: The ZR1X will come standard with J59 braking, which is optional on the ZR1.
• 4:35
Speaker 1: That pairs Alcon 10-piston front calipers and 6-piston rear calipers with a 16.5-inch rotor in the front and rear.
• 4:46
Speaker 1: I think the J stands for Jesus.
• 4:47
Speaker 1: You press the brake you go Jesus Jesus.
• 4:52
Speaker 1: The ZR1X will be sold as a coupe or convertible.
• 4:56
Speaker 1: An optional ZTK performance package offers a firmer ride.
• 5:02
Speaker 1: A carbon aero package enables 1,200 pounds of downforce at maximum speed.
• 5:08
Speaker 2: Let's just throw some letters in there.
• 5:10
Speaker 2: We haven't used in a while the.
• 5:11
Speaker 1: ZR1X also features Corvette's updated interior.
• 5:14
Speaker 1: Chevy says the ZR1X performance can compete against the likes of the 1,184-horsepower Ferrari F80 and the 1,258 horsepower McLaren W1.
• 5:25
Speaker 1: Production of the ZR1X will start this year at GM's assembly plant in Bowling Green.
• 5:30
Speaker 1: Pricing will be disclosed later.
• 5:33
Speaker 2: Yeah, I was going to ask well, how much?
• 5:34
Speaker 2: Yeah, well, a lot.
• 5:36
Speaker 3: A lot If you've got to ask.
• 5:39
  Speaker 1: Now.
• 5:39
Speaker 1: So you've got a little light bulb out in the interior.
• 5:43
  Speaker 1: It's under warranty.
• 5:45
Speaker 1: You are going to take your car to the Chevy dealer that Don Armstrong used to work at and drop it off for them to change the light bulb, and in six weeks you'll get it back.
• 5:56
Speaker 1: Yeah, no, that would be once you go and visit it at the junkyard because you've wrecked it in the parking lot.
• 6:02
Speaker 1: Oh, I don't know what all that means, but you've wrecked it in the parking lot.
• 6:05
Speaker 2: I don't know what all that means, but that's okay.
• 6:07
Speaker 1: It don't sound good.
• 6:08
Speaker 1: No, it's not, because you know you've got guys that drive the cars in and out of the service department.
• 6:16
Speaker 1: Put them in the parking lot.
• 6:16
Speaker 2: It doesn't happen very often.
• 6:21
Speaker 1: You're going to have that car sitting in the parking lot for a couple of days while they order a bulb for it.
• 6:24
Speaker 1: So what do you think about that?
• 6:24
Speaker 1: What are your thoughts on that, Jeff?
• 6:27
Speaker 2: I just think they're overthinking, they're overdesigning, they want to one-up everything they've done.
• 6:32
Speaker 2: One department's trying to one-up the other, and then they're trying to one-up the manufacturer down the street and pretty soon you got all this stuff piled in and it's just too much.
• 6:40
Speaker 2: It's just too much.
• 6:41
Speaker 1: It's just too much, I think that this was probably talked about and planned when the car was still on the drawing board.
• 6:50
Speaker 1: What, seven, eight years ago?
• 6:51
Speaker 1: Yeah, because they knew that they wanted to offer an electric version of it.
• 6:56
Speaker 1: They knew that they wanted to have an all-wheel drive version of it to be able to compete Because you know they've got spies everywhere To be able to compete with all of the top-notch supercars from europe.
• 7:08
Speaker 1: And the only way to do that is to do it all-wheel drive, electrify it but not have to plug it in.
• 7:16
Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think generation of power yeah, it's uh, it's pretty spectacular so they turn it into an F1 vehicle.
• 7:24
Speaker 2: F1 car Pretty much.
• 7:25
Speaker 2: Yeah, it's got a push to pass on it.
• 7:27
Speaker 1: Yeah, push to pass regeneration on the braking the other thing about it is that it does retain the split window that also appears in the ZR1.
• 7:38
Speaker 2: Well, that's another two mile an hour.
• 7:39
Speaker 2: Look, you see, it goes down the spine of the back window.
• 7:43
Speaker 2: It's like the back of an alligator Kind of.
• 7:47
Speaker 3: So, Mars, I'm not feeling it.
• 7:48
Speaker 3: You know, I was thinking about a conversation I had with somebody recently about engineers.
• 7:52
Speaker 3: Engineers have got to engineer something.
• 7:55
Speaker 3: You know, sometimes you look at something.
• 7:56
Speaker 3: Well, why did they do that?
• 7:57
Speaker 3: Well, it's because they were bored and they need to engineer something, but I know about this.
• 8:02
  Speaker 1: Well, yeah, yeah, I do, I have a daughter, that's.
• 8:07
Speaker 1: Anyway, I will tell you that that probably came from somewhere within the racing bowels of corporate that said we're going to sit around a table and we're going to think of ways that we can compete on a global scale with supercars.
• 8:24
Speaker 2: Well, this just does not apply to the Corvette or this particular model.
• 8:28
Speaker 2: There are things developed for automotive that are derived from racing.
• 8:32
Speaker 2: Pirelli comes to mind.
• 8:33
Speaker 2: I work for Pirelli.
• 8:34
Speaker 2: Everything they did in the tire end of it for passenger car tires was developed in the racing side of it.
• 8:40
Speaker 2: So everything that they've done the heat, the way the tires assembled, what kind of nylons, rayons, all that stuff, carbon fibers are in the racing, and then that is applied to the passenger side.
• 8:52
Speaker 2: So I get it, I understand how they do it, but it's just too much.
• 8:56
Speaker 2: All the time You're just being inundated with all this new technology.
• 9:00
Speaker 1: Leave it alone for a minute.
• 9:01
Speaker 1: Well, you know, darn good and well, they're going to sell every one that they build.
• 9:05
Speaker 2: Good for them if they do.
• 9:05
Speaker 2: I'm not buying any of it.
• 9:06
Speaker 1: No, I'm thinking it's probably going to be $225,000.
• 9:13
Speaker 1: Could be Probably a quarter mil, but with a supercar that it competes against at $4 million and if it was a Ford, in three weeks it'd be recalled.
• 9:26
  Speaker 3: Or before.
• 9:27
Speaker 3: You wouldn't have to worry about the warranty running out on it because it'd be recalled.
• 9:30
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 9:32
Speaker 2: And then you reapply the warranty to that and the warranty to that?
• 9:34
Speaker 2: Yeah, I just don't get it.
• 9:36
  Speaker 2: I think they're.
• 9:37
Speaker 2: And who has the money nowadays for that?
• 9:39
Speaker 2: Who is their market?
• 9:40
  Speaker 2: Who is their?
• 9:42
  Speaker 1: customer.
• 9:42
Speaker 1: Those are the guys that go out and buy the brand new Lamborghini, the brand new.
• 9:47
  Speaker 2: Ferrari.
• 9:50
Speaker 1: That money is not an object.
• 9:50
Speaker 2: They'll probably sell more on the European side of that than the American side.
• 9:54
Speaker 2: Perhaps Probably the Saudis and all the oil-rich countries will probably collect them, guys that have more money than they have water.
• 10:02
Speaker 2: Yeah, they got more oil wells than we've got.
• 10:04
Speaker 2: You know, bathrooms yeah.
• 10:09
Speaker 3: I've never been over there but I've read stories about people that have been over there and seen these Opulence yeah, sitting on the side of the road where they just parked it.
• 10:17
Speaker 3: They were broke down or stopped and they got out and they walked away from this $200,000 or $300,000 car.
• 10:22
Speaker 1: Probably more along the lines of $2 million or $3 million.
• 10:25
Speaker 3: Well, I think they call the record for those.
• 10:26
Speaker 3: But they say Mercedes and stuff, eh, just park it, leave it on the side of the road, somebody will get it.
• 10:32
Speaker 1: Somebody will get it.
• 10:33
Speaker 1: Yeah, I can't even think of things like that.
• 10:37
Speaker 1: It doesn't even enter my mind.
• 10:39
Speaker 3: No, I don't understand that at all.
• 10:40
Speaker 2: That might be a little far-fetched, but I understand what Mike's saying is that it's not anything they worry about.
• 10:48
Speaker 1: Can you imagine one of these showing up in the press fleet?
• 10:51
Speaker 1: I know one person in particular that would probably have it on its roof in a ditch.
• 10:57
Speaker 2: But what about insurance?
• 10:58
Speaker 2: Who's going to insure that thing?
• 10:59
Speaker 2: Are you going to call up your local state firm guy?
• 11:02
Speaker 1: Oh no, it'd be somebody like Hagerty.
• 11:05
Speaker 1: They would say sure, we'll be more than happy to.
• 11:06
Speaker 2: If you can afford that car $5,000 a month.
• 11:09
Speaker 3: You can afford the insurance.
• 11:10
Speaker 2: Well, that's true too.
• 11:11
Speaker 3: It would probably be on a rider.
• 11:12
Speaker 3: You got my $10 million house covered and you got my $10 million lake house covered and you cover this $2 million car, oh car, oh sure, We'll just add on.
• 11:21
Speaker 1: No problem, Mr Mars, we got you covered.
• 11:23
Speaker 1: There's that thought too.
• 11:25
  Speaker 3: Collision liability.
• 11:26
Speaker 3: No, no, we're not going to mess with that crap.
• 11:28
  Speaker 3: It's worth $10 million.
• 11:28
Speaker 2: That's what we're going to insure, and how many drivers do you want us to put on that for you?
• 11:31
Speaker 2: You got your granddaughters, your wife, you got all the litany of people that you know, all five wives, all the grandchildren.
• 11:43
Speaker 1: There you go, five wet bars.
• 11:45
Speaker 1: The truth's coming out.
• 11:47
Speaker 1: Finally, he's had five wives.
• 11:50
Speaker 3: Over there they have five at a time.
• 11:52
  Speaker 3: That's what.
• 11:52
  Speaker 1: I really don't understand.
• 11:53
  Speaker 2: I really don't understand that.
• 11:55
Speaker 3: The harems they have over there.
• 11:57
  Speaker 1: Yes, the harem.
• 11:57
Speaker 1: So you know I'm teased the fact that Richard Tomlin is going to be with us from Apex Auto Works and he's a big road racing guy.
• 12:09
Speaker 2: I'm going to bring up a couple of points on this and see what he has to say about it.
• 12:11
Speaker 2: 2.2 seconds to go from here to there.
• 12:12
  Speaker 2: Two seconds, yeah.
• 12:14
Speaker 2: Why don't they advertise a car?
• 12:16
Speaker 2: You can go from zero to 60 in three and a half minutes.
• 12:22
Speaker 1: I had a car like that.
• 12:25
Speaker 2: That's the way cars should be built.
• 12:26
Speaker 2: That would slow everybody down and get them off that road raging on the road.
• 12:32
Speaker 1: So, in other words, we could just get the riding mower out.
• 12:36
Speaker 2: Run those up and down Horses, horses and buggies.
• 12:39
Speaker 3: I had a friend back when we were young teenagers.
• 12:42
Speaker 3: He got snuck out with his mom's 1960 four-door Chevrolet with a six-cylinder slush box, two-speed automatic, took it out to the drag strip.
• 12:53
Speaker 3: He was not fast but he was very consistent and in the bracket races everybody hated him.
• 12:59
Speaker 3: He'd be halfway down the track before anybody else could start.
• 13:04
Speaker 2: I'm just looking fellas.
• 13:05
Speaker 2: I don't have a plug for my commercial to your box.
• 13:07
Speaker 2: We did not set that up this morning.
• 13:10
Speaker 3: Okay, Well if you will turn me off, I'll take care of that, okay, thank you.
• 13:14
Speaker 1: Well, I didn't know we had turned you on.
• 13:15
Speaker 1: But okay, yeah, I guess, so we have the cable mic.
• 13:19
  Speaker 2: So let's do.
• 13:21
Speaker 1: Well, we can't really do this, mars.
• 13:23
Speaker 1: Well, give us just two minutes, all right.
• 13:25
Speaker 1: So I'm going to do the recalls before we do the sold cars roundup.
• 13:28
Speaker 1: Okay, mr Mars, that's not going to fix the problem, no, no, no, but it's going to fix that problem.
• 13:34
Speaker 1: Okay, you go to that.
• 13:35
Speaker 1: I'll go direct to you.
• 13:36
  Speaker 1: So here's what's going on.
• 13:38
Speaker 1: As far as recalls are concerned, honda is recalling 259,033 vehicles.
• 13:44
Speaker 1: These guys 33 vehicles in the US for incorrectly assembled brake pedals.
• 13:49
Speaker 1: Okay, the recalls for 184,023 and 24 Honda pilots.
• 13:56
Speaker 1: Also involved are Acura MDXs and Acura TLXs.
• 14:02
Speaker 1: Only 1% of recall vehicles are estimated to have the defect.
• 14:05
Speaker 1: But you want to have a brake pedal, I will say, and not some?
• 14:09
Speaker 1: You know little spiky thing down there that had a pedal on it but it fell off.
• 14:13
Speaker 1: Also, improperly installed fuel hose may leak on the Honda CR-V Hybrid.
• 14:24
Speaker 1: Okay, so it does have a gasoline motor in it and it's not really a good thing to have the fuel hose improperly installed.
• 14:32
Speaker 1: 2025 model year Engine oil leak may cause a fire.
• 14:36
Speaker 1: Ford Bronco Sport 2025.
• 14:40
Speaker 1: And the Ford Escape 2023 to 2025.
• 14:44
Speaker 1: Loose bolts on the front brake caliper of the Ford Explorer for 2025.
• 14:53
  Speaker 1: That's a recall.
• 14:54
  Speaker 1: Dodge Charger 2024 to 2025.
• 14:57
Speaker 1: Missing pedestrian warning sounds.
• 15:00
Speaker 1: I didn't know there was such a thing.
• 15:03
Speaker 1: Rear view camera image not displayed on the Chrysler Pacifica and the Voyager for 2023.
• 15:10
Speaker 1: And front exterior turn signals.
• 15:12
Speaker 1: I didn't know that they had interior turn signals.
• 15:16
Speaker 1: Whatever, the signals may fail on the Rivian R1S and the R1T for 2025.
• 15:24
Speaker 1: Okay, did you get your problem fixed there, jeffrey?
• 15:30
Speaker 1: I think we did.
• 15:31
Speaker 2: All right, a good combination effort, teamwork, all that stuff.
• 15:34
Speaker 2: We did that change in 3.2 minutes.
• 15:39
Speaker 1: Okay, well, I'm glad to hear that, because we've rolled right past the sold cars roundup that we teased that we were going to do, but because of other extraneous factors we're not going to be able to do that now.
• 15:57
  Speaker 2: Moving on Okay.
• 16:00
  Speaker 1: Ready.
• 16:01
Speaker 1: I'm going to put this over here to the side, because I'm going to try to get this going later on.
• 16:08
  Speaker 1: Okay, All right.
• 16:09
Speaker 1: Just wanted to let you know that.

Speaker 1: It's been a great ride and we hope to bring you more fun and adventure right here on the In Wheel Time Car Talk Show.
• 17:53
Speaker 1: Well, the summer heat has us hiding inside the Sugar Shack Studios for a while, so we invite you to join us for the live show every Saturday, 10 to noon Central Time, right here on InWheelTimecom YouTube and Facebook.
• 18:09
Speaker 1: All right time now for the Motor Minute.
• 18:10
  Speaker 1: Jeffrey has that.
• 18:11
Speaker 2: Yeah, talk about theft from automobile manufacturers.
• 18:14
Speaker 2: Michigan police say Ford worker made millions stealing parts from the plant to sell on eBay.
• 18:19
Speaker 2: In a years-long scam, millions of dollars of brand-new Ford's hoods, bumpers and taillights recently disappeared straight off the assembly line.
• 18:29
Speaker 2: How do you put that in your pocket?
• 18:30
  Speaker 2: Listen up.
• 18:30
Speaker 2: Dearborn police cracked down on this.
• 18:33
Speaker 2: According to Fox 2 News in Detroit, a former Ford employee slipped parts out of the plant in Wayne, dearborn and Flat Rock over two years, then funneled the loot to a Detroit area auto shop sold on eBay.
• 18:47
Speaker 2: They executed a search warrant.
• 18:50
Speaker 2: The room was full, floor to ceiling stacked with brand new auto parts.
• 18:54
Speaker 2: According to the police, the suspect and several associates are now in custody, facing potential charges of grand theft, auto racketeering and running a criminal enterprise.
• 19:02
Speaker 2: According to the police, the ex-employee removed factory fresh components during a shift and drove them to a third-party shop on West Chicago Street in Detroit where they were sold online.
• 19:13
Speaker 2: Detectives believe that the parts listed online within days generated a payday for all the parties involved until police stepped in and shut down the entire enterprise.
• 19:23
Speaker 2: You go, perry Mason.
• 19:25
Speaker 2: Any item confirmed as stolen violates eBay's stolen property policy, which states the company will work with law enforcement in any attempts to sell stolen property on eBay.
• 19:34
Speaker 2: It's a permanent removal, offending all of the people involved.
• 19:39
Speaker 2: Now, the thing about this is that it was a two-year investigation.
• 19:43
Speaker 2: The guy did it for two years.
• 19:44
Speaker 2: They've got them all in custody.
• 19:45
Speaker 2: Ford says if they come to find out these parts are damaged, they put them on a car, they sell them to you.
• 19:52
Speaker 2: You put them on your car and rebuild the car and there's a problem with it.
• 19:55
Speaker 2: All warranty is voided on that car.
• 19:57
Speaker 2: So Ford's taking steps and they're doing their international investigations as well to find out if it's anywhere beyond the Detroit area in the factories Wow, three plants stealing them right out of the box.
• 20:08
  Speaker 2: Amazing, george says.
• 20:10
Speaker 1: Pardon me just a moment.
• 20:10
Speaker 1: Can Amazing George says profit margin?
• 20:11
Speaker 1: Pardon me just a moment, can I turn your microphone on?
• 20:13
  Speaker 1: Yeah, I forgot.
• 20:15
Speaker 3: George says that you know one piece at a time.
• 20:17
Speaker 3: It didn't cost a dime, so it's higher profit margins if you do it that way.
• 20:23
Speaker 2: Good thinking, george, and you're part of the group.
• 20:27
  Speaker 2: I don't.
• 20:29
  Speaker 1: That's it.
• 20:30
Speaker 1: So how do you back the truck up to the factory and say we're going to send some bumpers over to George at the high theft auto.
• 20:39
Speaker 2: Some of these plants are like Fort Knox security.
• 20:41
Speaker 2: How can you do that?
• 20:42
Speaker 2: I don't know how can you do that?
• 20:44
Speaker 1: It's probably a company truck that had Ford on the side of it.
• 20:47
Speaker 2: It could have been who's got access in and out of the factory on a daily basis, like that after hours or whatnot?
• 20:53
Speaker 2: If it's after hours, it makes it even worse.
• 20:55
Speaker 2: So it's a criminal enterprise, racketeering and all that.
• 20:57
Speaker 2: First of all, who?
• 20:59
Speaker 1: thinks of stuff like that.
• 21:01
Speaker 1: Oh, I'm going to go steal me six bumpers off of a whatever.
• 21:06
Speaker 2: It starts with you taking paperclips and pencils out of the office, and then it leads to something else, leads to bumpers.
• 21:12
Speaker 2: Bumpers and hoods and taillights Nuts, yeah, that's the way I look at it.
• 21:17
Speaker 3: How do you put a F-250 bumper in your pants, down your leg or your pants?
• 21:22
Speaker 2: Is that an F-250 bumper, or are you just glad to see me?
• 21:27
Speaker 1: Time now for this hour's car review.
• 21:28
Speaker 1: Had a chance to drive the 2025 Chevrolet Suburban.
• 21:33
Speaker 1: You know what that is.
• 21:34
Speaker 1: Built in Arlington, texas.
• 21:37
Speaker 1: There is a whole list that I forgot to put down here of trim levels.
• 21:41
Speaker 1: We had the top of the line, four-wheel drive, high country.
• 21:44
Speaker 1: This is considered by your government as a standard SUV.
• 21:50
Speaker 1: They should have put in their standard big SUV Seats, including the driver, and this one that we had seven, I think that you can get, let's see eight If you have a second row.
• 22:05
Speaker 1: That is a bench, but ours had captain's chairs for the second row.
• 22:09
Speaker 1: It had four buckets and a bench, yeah, in the back.
• 22:10
Speaker 1: It's got four buckets and a bench, yeah, in the back.
• 22:13
Speaker 1: Exterior changes from last model year.
• 22:15
Speaker 1: This vehicle was all new, completely redesigned in 2021, refreshed for this year, 2025.
• 22:22
Speaker 1: By the way, it grew exponentially in 2021.
• 22:27
Speaker 1: Yeah, huge Exterior features big, large, house-like vehicle with refreshed front fascia.
• 22:36
Speaker 1: Slab sides with straight lines on it Make it big.
• 22:40
Speaker 1: Don't put any accoutrement on it other than some chrome here and there.
• 22:44
Speaker 1: Attractive, big wheel design.
• 22:47
Speaker 1: I think this thing had 24s on it Wow, 24s Rear hatch very attractive.
• 22:54
Speaker 1: We've seen the taillights before and I can't remember the vehicle.
• 22:59
Speaker 1: It was on a truck and I think that they've brought them back because everybody liked them.
• 23:03
Speaker 1: Anyway, it's good looking.
• 23:05
  Speaker 1: What I liked.
• 23:06
Speaker 1: The overall look is attractive, follows its predecessors.
• 23:09
Speaker 1: If you have something that's successful, don't mess it up.
• 23:13
Speaker 1: What could use improvement?
• 23:15
  Speaker 1: Nothing.
• 23:15
Speaker 1: Interior highlights Two separate screens are blended, kind of one almost on top of the other.
• 23:24
Speaker 1: It works very well.
• 23:26
Speaker 1: It's a different kind of look and it is not the same as the GMC, and I'll tell you about that in a couple of weeks.
• 23:30
Speaker 1: It is not the same as the GMC and I'll tell you about that in a couple of weeks.
• 23:33
Speaker 1: Central air duct at the bottom of the center stack, which was kind of unusual, but you know they did that with the Camaro and somehow it worked.
• 23:42
Speaker 1: Our high country had two-tone, brown and black interior.
• 23:45
Speaker 1: It was absolutely stunningly beautiful Seating, very comfortable.
• 23:49
Speaker 1: Second row captain's chairs are great.
• 23:52
Speaker 1: Cargo, plenty of space, even with the third row up.
• 23:55
Speaker 1: What I liked about it?
• 23:57
  Speaker 1: The roominess.
• 23:58
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 23:59
Speaker 1: What could use improvement?
• 24:00
Speaker 1: If you want more lux than this, check out the GMC.
• 24:05
Speaker 1: Or the Cadillac Goes down the same assembly line in Arlington, texas, nice.
• 24:10
Speaker 1: Three-liter Duramax turbo diesel that turns out 305 horsepower with 495 pound-feet of torque through a 10-speed automatic transmission, four-wheel drive.
• 24:23
Speaker 1: Toe rating 7,900 pounds.
• 24:26
Speaker 1: So get your cabin cruiser, hook it to the back of the truck and take it to the lake.
• 24:32
Speaker 1: As far as mileage is concerned, it is a diesel and it didn't do too bad 20 miles per gallon city 24, highway for a combined of 22.
• 24:42
Speaker 1: I got 21.5 miles per gallon over 256.6 miles.
• 24:46
Speaker 1: What I liked about it?
• 24:47
Speaker 1: Plenty of grunt with mileage.
• 24:50
Speaker 1: Can you remember correctly, mars, when you had the old version of the thing with the V8 in it?
• 24:56
Speaker 1: 13 miles per gallon was good.
• 24:58
Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I was happy with that.
• 25:00
Speaker 1: Yeah, so they've come a long way.
• 25:02
Speaker 1: And that diesel, you can't even tell it's a diesel.
• 25:05
Speaker 1: It is super quiet, it runs no turbo lag.
• 25:09
  Speaker 1: It runs like a real honest-to-goodness, old-school V8.
• 25:13
Speaker 1: So I would suggest that if you're in the market for a big Suburban, check out that Duramax turbo diesel.
• 25:21
Speaker 1: All right, ride and handling.
• 25:24
Speaker 1: Well, the independent rear suspension makes for a smooth ride, along with the air ride suspension on a Chevrolet.
• 25:33
Speaker 1: Yeah, it's an option, it's part of an option package.
• 25:36
  Speaker 1: Get it.
• 25:37
  Speaker 1: Ooh dreamy.
• 25:39
Speaker 1: What could use improvement?
• 25:41
  Speaker 1: Nothing, honey.
• 25:41
  Speaker 1: Base trim price.
• 25:43
Speaker 1: Base trim price $84,700.
• 25:47
Speaker 1: Now, this is the top of the line.
• 25:48
Speaker 1: Price is tested $92,220.
• 25:50
Speaker 1: So, don, how much does it cost to get into a plain Jane, if there is such a thing, a plain Jane Suburban $61,500.
• 26:03
Speaker 1: Wow, well, hey, the average price across all makes and models of cars these days is $50,000.
• 26:10
Speaker 1: Is that the three-row for $61,500?
• 26:13
Speaker 3: I think all the Suburbans are three-row.
• 26:14
Speaker 3: They are, if you want a two-row.
• 26:17
Speaker 1: You get your Tahoe Right Competitors GMC Yukon XL base 96.9,.
• 26:25
Speaker 1: Ford Expedition Max 89.170, or the Wagoneer L that's the long version Right 79,535.
• 26:36
Speaker 1: But I don't think that Wagoneer can really compete as far as size is concerned.
• 26:41
  Speaker 1: I assume that it's got.
• 26:44
Speaker 1: Have you ever driven?
• 26:46
  Speaker 3: one?
• 26:46
Speaker 3: No, I've just seen them.
• 26:47
Speaker 3: Yeah, does it come with a Hemi?
• 26:49
  Speaker 3: No, I don't think so.
• 26:51
Speaker 3: I would hope it would.
• 26:53
  Speaker 1: The.
• 26:53
  Speaker 2: Wagoneer.
• 26:53
  Speaker 2: I think it's a.
• 26:53
  Speaker 3: Hurricane 6.
• 26:54
Speaker 3: Well now it is yeah.
• 26:58
Speaker 1: Because, well, we don't know, because they just said that they're going to put the Hemi.
• 27:01
Speaker 1: Bring the Hemi back.
• 27:02
Speaker 3: In the Ram trucks.
• 27:03
Speaker 3: Yeah, I know Well.
• 27:04
Speaker 3: Once you got it in the assembly area then, yeah, I guess A blacked-out Suburban this morning passed me.
• 27:10
Speaker 3: It's a late model, it wasn't this brand new and it was a couple years old probably.
• 27:14
Speaker 3: And I thought, man, if we ever decide that we don't really want a truck and we want to go with a trailer instead, that would be the tow vehicle to have, Absolutely.
• 27:23
  Speaker 1: Absolutely.
• 27:24
Speaker 1: And remember, I've had two Suburbans in my life and I will tell you that the third-row seat, you had to dig it out of the back, literally, because it clicked in and the thing weighed a gajillion pounds if you didn't want the third row.
• 27:41
Speaker 1: Well, we never used the third row, no, so we put it in a big plastic bag and put it in the attic and I don't know how I got it up there, but somehow I did.
• 27:48
Speaker 1: But yeah, we sold it.
• 27:50
Speaker 1: Obviously it had the third row.
• 27:51
Speaker 2: Put it in the kitchen as a little seating area A little extra seating, bolt it to the floor.
