- 0:03Speaker 2: Let's go over.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Let's go from a championship backfield to your morning drive. Hen'sday,
- 0:08Speaker 1: Hester and Hester got it? FA your locks in to
- 0:13Speaker 1: off the Bench control the live from the Raising Kine studio.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Here's Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 0:33Speaker 3: Yo, you went out of order.
- 0:40Speaker 2: No, it's this way up.
- 0:44Speaker 4: Yeah, waterfall works, not the circular.
- 0:47Speaker 2: We're going clockwise here. That makes more sense a counterclockwise. Hey,
- 0:51Speaker 2: welcome in Wednesday morning. Off the bench, Crank up that
- 0:55Speaker 2: d still this morning, we're bringing the energy. Taylor. Hey,
- 1:00Speaker 2: hats off, but so hats off on.
- 1:02Speaker 3: That ten.
- 1:05Speaker 5: You told me right after that apparently Chris had tried
- 1:07Speaker 5: to do it and didn't because like right after I
- 1:09Speaker 5: did it, y'all were clapping.
- 1:10Speaker 2: I was like, yeah, oh yeah, it's about time.
- 1:12Speaker 6: You gots clap for me. Was I was, I do
- 1:15Speaker 6: this every day and I did.
- 1:16Speaker 4: Not want to do it. And I was told thirteen
- 1:19Speaker 4: seconds prior to the show starting two chances. Yeah that
- 1:22Speaker 4: is also fair. And the second weather report, the second one.
- 1:25Speaker 3: I told him exactly what to do.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Well, the second was worse.
- 1:28Speaker 5: You probably you probably in your head at that point,
- 1:30Speaker 5: you were in your own head.
- 1:31Speaker 3: I told you exactly what to do, and the second
- 1:33Speaker 3: one was worse.
- 1:33Speaker 4: Yeah, basically, thirteen seconds all those things.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Happened thirteen seconds before your Mike came on. We basically said,
- 1:38Speaker 2: give the weather and be like Taylor, and you couldn't
- 1:41Speaker 2: do it.
- 1:42Speaker 4: I talked for four hours.
- 1:44Speaker 2: It's hard to do Hey, well, hats off, but it
- 1:46Speaker 2: is hard to do it. There's a skill.
- 1:48Speaker 3: No one else will do it. Yeah, they can't do
- 1:51Speaker 3: it well, Like this is something only Taylor could do.
- 1:53Speaker 4: The weather.
- 1:53Speaker 2: It brings, it absolutely bring. How's traffic this morning, Taylor?
- 1:57Speaker 2: Actually bad? I had to get off and you saw
- 2:00Speaker 2: munch of tail I saw a.
- 2:01Speaker 5: Bunch of tail lights, and I was like, you know what,
- 2:02Speaker 5: We're not fighting that ten twelve split, not today the
- 2:05Speaker 5: saint to day, so wait to find out what was happening.
- 2:09Speaker 2: I was like, now we're good time.
- 2:10Speaker 6: Did you leave my house?
- 2:11Speaker 2: Yeah? Five thirty?
- 2:13Speaker 4: Where else five thirty?
- 2:15Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm leaving five thirty. Get here about some.
- 2:18Speaker 4: People don on the roads at five thirty in.
- 2:19Speaker 6: The morning to work, like going to their jobs.
- 2:22Speaker 4: That's crazy.
- 2:23Speaker 6: That is insane, like a bunch of sheep.
- 2:25Speaker 4: I don't like it.
- 2:25Speaker 2: So when Jacob's not here, I leave. I leave a
- 2:28Speaker 2: lot earlier, So I wake up at five and I'll
- 2:30Speaker 2: leave like at five twenty or five thirty to get
- 2:31Speaker 2: here to kind of try to outline and try to
- 2:34Speaker 2: familiarize myself with sports. Yeah, because I don't really watch
- 2:37Speaker 2: it at night. I'm not sitting there scrolling. I'm you know,
- 2:39Speaker 2: taking hanging out with the kids, hanging out with the
- 2:42Speaker 2: family doing things I'm not like, I'm not sitting there
- 2:44Speaker 2: with my notebook writing down notes about like So that's
- 2:47Speaker 2: how I do it in the morning. Yeah. Not the
- 2:49Speaker 2: Dodgers don't don't really again, don't really care. And it
- 2:53Speaker 2: is shocking to me even at five point fifteen, five
- 2:56Speaker 2: thirty in the morning. Sometimes the amount of traffic it
- 2:58Speaker 2: was stop traffic. I think one day last week I
- 3:01Speaker 2: had to get off either at College or Katie, I
- 3:04Speaker 2: can't remember because it'll stop traffic all the way to
- 3:06Speaker 2: the bridge. I like, what are y'all doing? Right? Go
- 3:08Speaker 2: to sleep? People? Yeah, it's a once a week occurrent
- 3:10Speaker 2: for me, and I get it. There's industrial traffic, but
- 3:14Speaker 2: that many at five is pretty wild. Now at six,
- 3:18Speaker 2: I get it. It's getting a little bit closer, but
- 3:20Speaker 2: there's a big difference when five thirty and six traffic.
- 3:22Speaker 4: I would rather be in bumper to bumper traffic in
- 3:25Speaker 4: Baton Rouge, not Atlanta. Atlanta is the worst with that.
- 3:27Speaker 4: I'd rather be in bumpered bumper traffic then get stuck
- 3:31Speaker 4: behind What is going to be my least favorite annual
- 3:33Speaker 4: tradition is going to start back today stuck behind a train.
- 3:37Speaker 2: That is the worst first day, I'm sure first day.
- 3:41Speaker 4: I remember last year. I was like, I'll just go
- 3:42Speaker 4: around and I'll go down here the river. Okay, come back,
- 3:46Speaker 4: you got five minutes. It terrible.
- 3:50Speaker 2: You're talking about the tracks by the practice of Yeah,
- 3:53Speaker 2: I'm a sing Monders.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Wait, who is it that has somebody on the football team.
- 3:58Speaker 3: I can't remember which player it is. Who is it?
- 4:01Speaker 4: I can't remember it?
- 4:03Speaker 3: He has like a beef train. He has multiple tiktoks
- 4:07Speaker 3: where he's like, come on, this train just keeps it.
- 4:10Speaker 3: Who was it was it? Yes it was Jim coylely,
- 4:14Speaker 3: Yeah it.
- 4:16Speaker 4: Was a dB. Yeah that is I mean it is
- 4:19Speaker 4: because you have.
- 4:19Speaker 3: Major beef with that train and the tiktoks are really funny.
- 4:22Speaker 4: There was there was like one time remember coming into
- 4:24Speaker 4: like the Wednesday morning meeting, and I was fired up
- 4:26Speaker 4: for the numbers on my graphic. Yeah, and it just stopped.
- 4:29Speaker 4: The train just stopped on the tracks. And LAUN was like,
- 4:32Speaker 4: just go around it. And I was like, there's a
- 4:34Speaker 4: bunch of cars the other one. No, it was like
- 4:37Speaker 4: right there over there, and it was just the train.
- 4:40Speaker 4: That's tough.
- 4:40Speaker 3: I thought, you meant the one on government.
- 4:42Speaker 2: On government.
- 4:42Speaker 3: There's an overpass.
- 4:43Speaker 4: You can know there is, But I was blocked in
- 4:45Speaker 4: from all the people behind me.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Yeah, it's terrible. You gotta find a way. Life doesn't
- 4:50Speaker 2: really care about you getting stuck by the train, doesn't
- 4:53Speaker 2: really care about you getting second trap. You got to
- 4:54Speaker 2: plan for it. You got to plan around it.
- 4:56Speaker 4: The train.
- 4:57Speaker 3: You a plan for it, I said, improvise, adapt, overcome.
- 5:01Speaker 6: He told ahead, go home.
- 5:06Speaker 4: Taking that.
- 5:07Speaker 2: When we were at LSU playing Tommy Moffatt shout out
- 5:11Speaker 2: to the goat, he told us there is no excuse
- 5:14Speaker 2: to ever being late to anything in life. There is
- 5:17Speaker 2: no excuse, he said, if do not ever be late
- 5:21Speaker 2: to one of my workouts in this way, And he said,
- 5:25Speaker 2: and I'll forget the exact verbiage, but he said, I
- 5:27Speaker 2: don't care if there is a train and you and
- 5:30Speaker 2: you are on the other side of it. He say,
- 5:33Speaker 2: you will drag your bloody nubs into the weight room
- 5:36Speaker 2: because you just got through that train.
- 5:38Speaker 4: I wish I didn't bring up the train though, so
- 5:41Speaker 4: there's no excuse.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Basically basically planning for how long a train takes to
- 5:46Speaker 2: usually pass and playing that far ahead and.
- 5:48Speaker 3: That one takes a minute.
- 5:50Speaker 4: It set still.
- 5:51Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, it stops.
- 5:52Speaker 4: I don't like, what are you doing? We're picking people up,
- 5:55Speaker 4: but to be fair of it stops.
- 5:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I stops. Just you know, that's probably.
- 6:04Speaker 4: Underneath leave the hun day. Yeah, honestly we could have
- 6:06Speaker 4: that car sucks. I don't use it anymore.
- 6:09Speaker 6: Just there crawl underneath to stop training one time you.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Stop for a wild underneath it?
- 6:14Speaker 4: Why don't you just between?
- 6:17Speaker 6: It was tall, like I just kind of a duck
- 6:19Speaker 6: a little bit and walk under.
- 6:20Speaker 5: It under a train baseint Louis Louis Louis, tell people
- 6:26Speaker 5: about it.
- 6:27Speaker 6: I don't want to crowd.
- 6:28Speaker 2: How does one crawl under?
- 6:30Speaker 1: Do you?
- 6:30Speaker 4: Like? Roll?
- 6:31Speaker 2: Yeah? It was it was pretty tall.
- 6:32Speaker 6: I probably just like what if you heard it start?
- 6:35Speaker 4: Kind of.
- 6:37Speaker 6: You just got on all fours really like hands and
- 6:39Speaker 6: feet had to get under there. My mom was freaking out.
- 6:42Speaker 6: It was really hot.
- 6:43Speaker 5: Uh dog was in the car, and they were like,
- 6:45Speaker 5: we're gonna be two minutes. We got the and then
- 6:47Speaker 5: the train blocked us.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Couldn't get to it.
- 6:49Speaker 6: Had to crawl under and get the dog.
- 6:51Speaker 2: So trains are pretty famously not tall at all. This
- 6:55Speaker 2: one I'm talking about from the ground to the bottom
- 6:57Speaker 2: of a train where you can like crawl.
- 7:00Speaker 6: This one was because it's tall enough where I didn't
- 7:02Speaker 6: have to like lay flat or anything.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Because they you know, they go through big flat pieces
- 7:06Speaker 2: of land with high winds, so like they don't want
- 7:09Speaker 2: to be off the ground too much. This is an
- 7:12Speaker 2: old school train.
- 7:14Speaker 4: You were on the polar powered Cold.
- 7:17Speaker 6: I was looking more at the undercarriage than the top
- 7:19Speaker 6: of it. I can't really tell you what the top
- 7:21Speaker 6: of it looked like.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Enough, Okay, train talk, Why didn't you just go between
- 7:27Speaker 2: the two cars, That's what I'm saying.
- 7:29Speaker 5: There was actually less room there. They were like, yeah,
- 7:32Speaker 5: they were like almost touching you big thinker guys. I
- 7:37Speaker 5: didn't think a ton about.
- 7:38Speaker 4: The mountain, big things. You slept there on top of
- 7:40Speaker 4: the mountain, right on top on top.
- 7:44Speaker 2: I'm telling you there's a hotel right on top of
- 7:46Speaker 2: that mountain.
- 7:47Speaker 4: It's so unreasonable, drove right up there.
- 7:50Speaker 2: There's no Well, good morning everybody. Morning off the bench
- 7:56Speaker 2: from the Raisin Cane studio. You recognize that voice. It's
- 8:01Speaker 2: Chris Marler. He speaks a lot, so you'll hear it,
- 8:03Speaker 2: all right, but we thank you for that. It's a
- 8:06Speaker 2: talk show, so you're supposed to speak a lot. Yeah,
- 8:08Speaker 2: two hours today, only two hours you're going to the
- 8:10Speaker 2: three hours today. Some people call that two thirds of
- 8:13Speaker 2: the show. Because you're headed out to LS you probably
- 8:15Speaker 2: you gotta make make make time for that train.
- 8:18Speaker 4: If I could suck behind the train in the first
- 8:20Speaker 4: day practice.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Do you need to leave a segment early to make
- 8:22Speaker 2: sure we're you know.
- 8:23Speaker 4: We're leaving at nine, and then I got a I
- 8:26Speaker 4: got a thing, and then we're heading on over there,
- 8:29Speaker 4: fired up.
- 8:30Speaker 2: You got a thing.
- 8:30Speaker 4: And then it's like a radio thing or something cool, good.
- 8:34Speaker 2: Radio saying you got something to do. They're not telling
- 8:35Speaker 2: nobody what you're doing. It's written, I got a thing,
- 8:38Speaker 2: I got.
- 8:39Speaker 3: I love him, he's so funny, he's the best. We
- 8:41Speaker 3: have the same birthday.
- 8:42Speaker 2: Oh what's nice?
- 8:43Speaker 3: February seventh, I know that we both have the same.
- 8:45Speaker 7: Birthday obviously, and we bonded over our time in San Antonio.
- 8:49Speaker 4: When did you guys talk? Okay, nice, He's like really nice.
- 8:54Speaker 3: He's the best.
- 8:55Speaker 2: He's very nice. We we had dinner with him last
- 8:58Speaker 2: year at SEC Media Days because is part of the
- 9:00Speaker 2: SEC crew that uh serious, uh man, really good stories
- 9:07Speaker 2: and super nice guy, like total likener Danny Tanner vibes, Yeah,
- 9:14Speaker 2: for real golf.
- 9:18Speaker 3: You say it loves golfing because it's just very dad like.
- 9:21Speaker 3: He is major dad vibes.
- 9:23Speaker 4: Okay, So speaking of my I mean that moment last year.
- 9:27Speaker 4: We're very cynical, especially you.
- 9:29Speaker 3: What are you talking about?
- 9:30Speaker 4: I'm about to tell you, Okay, I'm going into it.
- 9:33Speaker 3: So you said that moment last year, that moment last year, I.
- 9:36Speaker 4: Know, we joke around a lot more cynical. But the
- 9:38Speaker 4: moment last year where he was watching his son called
- 9:40Speaker 4: places up state, that was awesome.
- 9:43Speaker 2: That was really cool.
- 9:44Speaker 4: Geoffrey Geoffrey Lanister, Jeffrey King, Jeoffrey. That hair, I mean
- 9:50Speaker 4: it was more of.
- 9:51Speaker 3: Like the facial structure, what do you call it? Isn't Yeah,
- 10:00Speaker 3: he was mogging.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Cla it was mogged Aura farming out there.
- 10:08Speaker 3: You know that video that you posted, the rapid fire
- 10:12Speaker 3: questions from the SEC media days with Matt? Why was
- 10:15Speaker 3: he mogging in between every question you were asking him?
- 10:20Speaker 2: Wait? What is mogging?
- 10:21Speaker 3: It's like you're just like trying to.
- 10:22Speaker 2: Like farm trying got it?
- 10:26Speaker 6: You know, I don't know you do do it?
- 10:29Speaker 4: No, I don't know how cameras on you? You know
- 10:31Speaker 4: how how how to mogg?
- 10:34Speaker 3: It's like when you're mean.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Mugging, You're no, it's like you're you're trying to like, yeah, mogging.
- 10:41Speaker 2: That is not a very sexy word on me.
- 10:43Speaker 3: As we're talking about, explain mogging.
- 10:46Speaker 4: If anyone knows it's.
- 10:48Speaker 7: Internet get out here is internet slaying. That means to outshine, dominate,
- 10:53Speaker 7: or look much better than someone else in a direct comparison.
- 10:56Speaker 3: So he's like mogging the camera while you're asking him questions.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Mar's trying to all right now with black tea and
- 11:02Speaker 2: his gel in his hair.
- 11:03Speaker 6: It's true slick back.
- 11:05Speaker 4: Wow, I didn't get a lot of sleep last night.
- 11:08Speaker 3: I gotta tag.
- 11:09Speaker 2: We got a teg.
- 11:11Speaker 7: I'm an Amtrak conductor and it's three hundred and fifty
- 11:13Speaker 7: dollars fine for crawling under a train.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Who's not paying that, who's finding me that's a good Yeah. Well,
- 11:24Speaker 2: I'm assuming just the you probably get to take.
- 11:27Speaker 3: I don't do this guy straight up telling you that
- 11:29Speaker 3: you're getting fine. He's just saying he's.
- 11:30Speaker 5: An Could you imagine getting fine? Though, Like you get
- 11:34Speaker 5: a bill in the mail, like like with the with
- 11:35Speaker 5: the tolls or whatever, you're like, damn.
- 11:37Speaker 4: It, trying two nine Government Street, Taylor, Sharp, send the fine.
- 11:42Speaker 6: I don't know what.
- 11:43Speaker 2: I don't think it was an Amtrak train anyways. I
- 11:45Speaker 2: actually think that, Well, I'm I'm assuming that's not an
- 11:47Speaker 2: Amtrak fine. I'm assuming it's a it's a legal thing. Yeah,
- 11:50Speaker 2: Like you can't just crawl under a train, Taylor. It's that.
- 11:54Speaker 2: That's I never read the box car Children jaywalking is
- 11:57Speaker 2: is we go? Cause it's dangerous. I only say crawling
- 12:00Speaker 2: under a train was probably more.
- 12:02Speaker 6: Dead stop for a long time product started.
- 12:05Speaker 5: Any That's the thing about a train I was I
- 12:08Speaker 5: was questioning whether or not there was anyone in it,
- 12:10Speaker 5: like it was.
- 12:10Speaker 2: It was a long time. Yeah.
- 12:12Speaker 5: I think I think the eight seconds it took me
- 12:14Speaker 5: to crawl under probably chances of its starting.
- 12:16Speaker 6: I'll probably really love it.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Was if it was stopped for a while, means it
- 12:20Speaker 2: was due. That's the thing about a train is they
- 12:22Speaker 2: do they start and they stopped.
- 12:24Speaker 4: You never know, You just really never know.
- 12:26Speaker 2: I know it's not a quick start. Well I lived.
- 12:29Speaker 2: What if you got? What if it was like one
- 12:31Speaker 2: of those movies where you got your toes stuck in
- 12:33Speaker 2: one of the the railings. We're in Choko. You ever
- 12:39Speaker 2: seen the movie where it's like cross.
- 12:43Speaker 3: Something that.
- 12:46Speaker 7: Just sl Ever seen a movie where you think they're
- 12:49Speaker 7: going to escape something but then somebody gets caught behind?
- 12:51Speaker 3: You've never seen that happen in a shallow.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Pretty much happens in all the movies shallow. How that?
- 12:57Speaker 2: Why is that movie on your minds?
- 13:00Speaker 1: Like?
- 13:00Speaker 2: When does the strange really random?
- 13:03Speaker 4: I just watched it.
- 13:04Speaker 3: You did give a little bit.
- 13:06Speaker 4: I don't love that. Why of my favorite one of
- 13:10Speaker 4: my favorite characters he's ever done, which is like a
- 13:12Speaker 4: very limited number, is Tropic Thunder. But he's like tied
- 13:17Speaker 4: up to the pole.
- 13:18Speaker 3: Yeah, do you let me go?
- 13:22Speaker 2: You can let me go.
- 13:24Speaker 4: That's my jelly beans.
- 13:26Speaker 2: You guys remember it? Yeah? Really, I don't know why
- 13:29Speaker 2: did you take offense when he said Jack black vibes?
- 13:33Speaker 2: Jack seems like he's because he's not a male model.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Is that the problem? Jack?
- 13:40Speaker 4: Right?
- 13:41Speaker 6: That's not a that's pretty good looks like? Yeah, I
- 13:46Speaker 6: mean like is he is?
- 13:47Speaker 4: He?
- 13:47Speaker 2: Would he be offended on anything unless you like, compared
- 13:50Speaker 2: to him like Chris Emsworth or.
- 13:55Speaker 4: That's fair.
- 13:55Speaker 2: I feel like Jack Black's pretty universally liked. That's like
- 13:59Speaker 2: very loved, feel.
- 14:00Speaker 4: Like big Yeah did you say yeah exactly? Did you
- 14:05Speaker 4: say your personality reminds me of Jack Black? No, you
- 14:07Speaker 4: look like Jackson.
- 14:08Speaker 2: You give Jack Black vibes.
- 14:10Speaker 4: All right, let's move on talking about trains again.
- 14:14Speaker 3: Anyways.
- 14:15Speaker 4: Yeah, that's new. I'm glad we brought that out to
- 14:16Speaker 4: that show.
- 14:17Speaker 2: It's more Uh, we're Pat Noswald.
- 14:19Speaker 4: Anyways, I almost dropped the effort.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Please don't.
- 14:25Speaker 3: I think we're not going to bring it up. But
- 14:27Speaker 3: you offended me majorly this weekend, so I.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Bring up not to.
- 14:34Speaker 4: Correct and I'm sorry.
- 14:35Speaker 2: Can we not? Can we not do it on it?
- 14:37Speaker 1: No?
- 14:37Speaker 4: We cannot because it involves a person that is a
- 14:40Speaker 4: friend of mine and he cannot hear it because it's
- 14:43Speaker 4: not great. It's fine, it'll be it'll be fine. We'll
- 14:48Speaker 4: talk about it off air.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Anyway.
- 14:51Speaker 4: Trains you ever taken a name truck.
- 14:53Speaker 3: I've never actually taken three or fifty dollars. Does seem
- 14:56Speaker 3: light that it seems like for crawling under a train.
- 14:58Speaker 3: Yet it seems super that's like a federal.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Offense, not like jaywalking is illegal walking. I don't know,
- 15:07Speaker 2: we need to check that out.
- 15:08Speaker 4: People are jaywalking a lot, right, Well, people, what I'm
- 15:12Speaker 4: saying it's a crawl under a train.
- 15:13Speaker 2: I'm like, you know, I've never thought to just crawl
- 15:16Speaker 2: under a train ever. Ever, that's never crossed my mind.
- 15:18Speaker 4: You were saying the story. I was like, none of this.
- 15:20Speaker 5: This is jaywalking typically ranges from twenty bucks up to
- 15:24Speaker 5: like two hundred three fifty for crawling under a train.
- 15:27Speaker 4: Is aggressive, No, it's jawalking.
- 15:29Speaker 2: It's really it's not at all.
- 15:32Speaker 3: It's like, do you want to pay three hundred and
- 15:33Speaker 3: fifty dollars or die?
- 15:34Speaker 2: We used to be we used to be a proper country.
- 15:36Speaker 2: Now it's able to crawl over the trains. Excuse the
- 15:38Speaker 2: state of Louisiana for just wanting you not to die
- 15:41Speaker 2: under a train.
- 15:42Speaker 4: It's really now, get up a landry.
- 15:44Speaker 2: It's a good point.
- 15:44Speaker 5: I wonder if it's per state or this is like
- 15:47Speaker 5: a National just got me a state situation.
- 15:50Speaker 7: The jaywalkings per state, because Massachusetts only charges you a
- 15:53Speaker 7: dollar for jaywalking.
- 15:55Speaker 2: Was Assissippi. So there's a lot more roads up there
- 15:57Speaker 2: in Boston. Yeah, there are a lot of roads auto
- 16:00Speaker 2: roads across. I gotta be honest, I gotta be honest.
- 16:04Speaker 2: I love I love to J walk.
- 16:07Speaker 3: I J walk all the time.
- 16:09Speaker 2: Like, J walking is my favorite. I see, I see
- 16:11Speaker 2: across it's your favorite crime ten feet away. I won't
- 16:14Speaker 2: even go to it.
- 16:14Speaker 6: It's like, don'tee.
- 16:16Speaker 3: I'm like, I'm gonna just cross right here.
- 16:17Speaker 4: What is your favorite crime?
- 16:18Speaker 2: Don't tell anyone.
- 16:19Speaker 6: I'm a serial J walker.
- 16:21Speaker 4: Yeah, J walker.
- 16:23Speaker 3: Probably what we talked about last week, Marlar tried to
- 16:25Speaker 3: I don't know if you heard that.
- 16:26Speaker 2: Marlar tried to convince people that DUIs are back, that
- 16:30Speaker 2: they're back, that they're a lot of people are getting them.
- 16:32Speaker 4: Yeah, they're never in. I love the trend on social
- 16:35Speaker 4: media now where it's like a person that's like a child.
- 16:38Speaker 4: I sent it to you guys, you guys in respond
- 16:39Speaker 4: where it's like an eight year old and he's like
- 16:41Speaker 4: at a birthday party doing one of these like buddy
- 16:43Speaker 4: years and he's like just so you know, this is
- 16:45Speaker 4: who you gave a d U I two.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Oh yeah, it's like.
- 16:49Speaker 4: This adorable kid.
- 16:50Speaker 2: Oh that's cute.
- 16:51Speaker 4: This is what you reported to HR after having eight
- 16:53Speaker 4: years at lunch.
- 16:54Speaker 2: All right, Well, I don't know what that was, but
- 16:57Speaker 2: that was a great opening segment. I felt like this
- 17:00Speaker 2: to the Sports show really, as we talked about LSU practice,
- 17:05Speaker 2: It's like by the train, we got a big show
- 17:06Speaker 2: for you to. LSU starts fall camp today on the
- 17:11Speaker 2: practice field. Marler will be there. I think they start,
- 17:14Speaker 2: like Taylor said earlier, it starts around ten am this morning.
- 17:17Speaker 2: They start a little bit earlier. Media goes in. Okay,
- 17:19Speaker 2: media goes in about ten. They probably start nine. So
- 17:21Speaker 2: they're in meetings right now. They're getting their ankle tapes
- 17:23Speaker 2: right out. They are getting ready, getting the bio freeze
- 17:25Speaker 2: on their shoulders, und getting ready. This will be the
- 17:28Speaker 2: last day that they are completely healthy and fresh and
- 17:32Speaker 2: ready to all. It's dark. No, that's what we got
- 17:35Speaker 2: told every single year. It gets reality.
- 17:37Speaker 4: Hey guys, welcome to camp. You're all gonna get hurt.
- 17:39Speaker 4: Also with Kiff and what he said at media day
- 17:41Speaker 4: is we're all gonna die. We're all gonna die.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely, Yeah, Well if you didn't know that before
- 17:45Speaker 2: that press conference.
- 17:47Speaker 6: Murder the entire Now you do.
- 17:48Speaker 4: Now I saw the whole Did you show the whole
- 17:50Speaker 4: Cogan doc the night before first day camp?
- 17:53Speaker 3: This is what's gonna happen to you.
- 17:55Speaker 2: We got the coaches poll gets released for college football.
- 17:58Speaker 2: We have people in the NFL getting paid, paid, paid.
- 18:02Speaker 2: We got LSU donors getting together discussing business. We've got
- 18:05Speaker 2: a lot of stuff to get to today. So stick
- 18:07Speaker 2: with us right here all morning long. On off the bench,
- 18:10Speaker 2: Off the bench, all right, go to get Gordon dot Com,
- 18:13Speaker 2: Gordon mccurnit injury attorneys. If you have you know, I'll
- 18:17Speaker 2: tell you every single day. Look, if you have been injured,
- 18:20Speaker 2: whether it's in a car accident, whether it's on the
- 18:21Speaker 2: job site, it doesn't matter where. If it's uh most
- 18:25Speaker 2: of the times, a lot of times that it's not
- 18:28Speaker 2: your fault. Maybe get blindsided by something. Well, if something happens,
- 18:32Speaker 2: look no further, call the people that can help you.
- 18:35Speaker 2: They know exactly what it is. Gordon mccurne injury attorneys.
- 18:38Speaker 2: Is like we like to say, run here. Gordon McCarney
- 18:40Speaker 2: injury attorney. He will fight for you get exactly what
- 18:44Speaker 2: you deserve. That's why Louisiana's trusted Gordon mccurne injury attorney
- 18:47Speaker 2: for decades. The team has helped more than seventy five
- 18:51Speaker 2: thousand clients all over Louisiana cover over three billion and injured.
- 18:56Speaker 2: So if you want to get what you deserve when
- 18:59Speaker 2: that happens, let them go fight for you. We see
- 19:01Speaker 2: all the great work that Gordon mc kernan does in
- 19:03Speaker 2: the community that we see all the nil space stuff,
- 19:05Speaker 2: but at the heart of everything, they are here to
- 19:06Speaker 2: fight for you. Called eight eight eight eight eight eight
- 19:07Speaker 2: eight or good to get Gordon dot com.
- 19:25Speaker 1: Tigers Turn Talkers. This is Off the Bench.
- 19:42Speaker 2: All right, welcome back here off the bench Wednesday morning.
- 19:47Speaker 2: Good morning everybody. We appreciate you tuning in, whether you're
- 19:50Speaker 2: driving to work, whether you're at work, whether you're at home,
- 19:52Speaker 2: watching on YouTube, listening on the radio, it doesn't really matter.
- 19:54Speaker 2: We appreciate your time. We appreciate you tuning into US
- 19:57Speaker 2: and UN and all about trains. Last segment, you really
- 20:03Speaker 2: hated that, you didn't You didn't like that a lot.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Why aren't you a train guy? That's I don't know,
- 20:11Speaker 2: really what brought this country together? I did write a
- 20:12Speaker 2: fast destiny.
- 20:13Speaker 4: I did write a what Yeah, I wrote an Amtrak
- 20:17Speaker 4: one time because I thought it'd be fun and it
- 20:20Speaker 4: was not.
- 20:21Speaker 6: So that's where all this pinned, the bangor crumb.
- 20:24Speaker 4: I was like, coming home from media days in like
- 20:25Speaker 4: twenty eighteen or tween nineteen, between nineteen and Birmingham, I
- 20:29Speaker 4: was like, this would be fun. Like, I've never taken
- 20:31Speaker 4: a train trip. I'm sure it's for people that don't
- 20:33Speaker 4: like flying, so I'm sure the train moves pretty fast. No,
- 20:36Speaker 4: it's like a two hour trip from Birmingham to Atlanta.
- 20:39Speaker 4: It took me roughly eight hours. I was sat next
- 20:42Speaker 4: I had a drum.
- 20:44Speaker 2: Did Marty go to Birmingham that day? Is like stopping
- 20:47Speaker 2: stopping every quarter mile?
- 20:49Speaker 4: Like Also, you're not riding through like eight hours, you're
- 20:52Speaker 4: riding through. You're riding through like people's backyards. So they
- 20:55Speaker 4: were saying it was it went said it never got
- 21:00Speaker 4: over forty five months an hour. It was. I was
- 21:06Speaker 4: violently hungover because it was the last immediate and this
- 21:10Speaker 4: kid sits down with a drum. No, he did it,
- 21:14Speaker 4: And I was like, that's this cannot this is such
- 21:16Speaker 4: a bad idea, this is not this is not real,
- 21:19Speaker 4: and he's just like, yeah, I mean, my band are
- 21:21Speaker 4: going on. It was like fifteen. He was clearly like
- 21:22Speaker 4: running away from home or doing I don't know.
- 21:24Speaker 2: It was awful.
- 21:25Speaker 4: I got into downtown Atlanta at like eleven thirty pm.
- 21:29Speaker 2: It was terrible.
- 21:30Speaker 4: Did you not like check the reviews or check the
- 21:32Speaker 4: travel time when you book this. I just had a
- 21:35Speaker 4: lot of assumptions about what I thought train travel was
- 21:37Speaker 4: the box car.
- 21:38Speaker 3: Children, you think you you think the plants.
- 21:40Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a good point. America didn't train real well,
- 21:43Speaker 2: I don't think I think there gonna be the train.
- 21:45Speaker 2: There's there's there's some good train situations, but like Europe's
- 21:48Speaker 2: got a nice train for sure. This was not that.
- 21:51Speaker 2: This was it's actually really nice. It's fun.
- 21:53Speaker 4: It was like the chunnel or anything like that. It's
- 21:55Speaker 4: a great train, not that train apparently.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Well, and back to Alabama, and you got to be
- 22:01Speaker 2: careful of people trying to cross it just rolling under
- 22:04Speaker 2: the train, so you got to go kind of slim.
- 22:05Speaker 4: There are people running faster than us. It was crazy.
- 22:08Speaker 2: They could pass by. Kaye. Yeah, well we hope that
- 22:11Speaker 2: today you don't have any train show because you will
- 22:13Speaker 2: be going over to LSU practice as LSU reports yesterday
- 22:17Speaker 2: and today they take the practice field for the first
- 22:19Speaker 2: time the twenty twenty sixth season. A lot to be
- 22:22Speaker 2: excited about. Of course, the coaches poll came out today,
- 22:26Speaker 2: which we'll get into. But since you will be boots
- 22:30Speaker 2: on the ground in practice today and hopefully right over
- 22:34Speaker 2: the train track into practice as soon as you get
- 22:38Speaker 2: onto the practice facility, what is Chris Marler?
- 22:41Speaker 4: What are your goals today? How many Morgan Wallen songs?
- 22:46Speaker 4: Is kipping going to play? Okay during the practice for one?
- 22:49Speaker 2: Do you keep track? Someone kept track of the playlist
- 22:52Speaker 2: last year? You cant keep track on that again. Sorry?
- 22:55Speaker 4: Spoiler alert, spoiler alert. Woops, got a whole ground idea?
- 22:59Speaker 4: DJ I, uh, we're only out there for three periods.
- 23:02Speaker 4: It's it's period four. So I think what I'm most
- 23:05Speaker 4: interested in seeing is what the makeup of the offensive
- 23:07Speaker 4: line devensive line look like with the ones, and then
- 23:11Speaker 4: also seeing maybe with the receiver rotation, and then who
- 23:14Speaker 4: is leading out the running backs.
- 23:15Speaker 2: Do you know what periods you get to see?
- 23:17Speaker 4: Two through four?
- 23:18Speaker 2: Okay? Do you know what they are?
- 23:19Speaker 4: They're all individuals what they told us, You're not gonna
- 23:21Speaker 4: see anything on the depth charge.
- 23:22Speaker 2: It's a good luck with that one. You're not gonna
- 23:24Speaker 2: see anything. So any of the three goals that you have,
- 23:27Speaker 2: I don't think you're gonna get that, okay, So honestly,
- 23:31Speaker 2: you probably need to redevelop those goals. Maybe just see,
- 23:34Speaker 2: like what do you think I should do? I think
- 23:36Speaker 2: you should go And I would go straight to the
- 23:41Speaker 2: quarterback receivers. I wouldn't waste if it's individuals. I wouldn't
- 23:45Speaker 2: waste my time on the lineman. You ain't not gonna
- 23:48Speaker 2: get anything from that. No, So I would go watch
- 23:50Speaker 2: the dbs and the wide receivers probably. I mean, you're
- 23:53Speaker 2: not gonna get anything that. You're not gonna get much
- 23:56Speaker 2: from running backs and individual drills.
- 23:59Speaker 4: So no, but I do want to see who's leading them, okay,
- 24:03Speaker 4: because there's Dylan Jones all spring.
- 24:05Speaker 6: Right, like just going drills. You want to see who's going.
- 24:07Speaker 4: I mean, like from a content standpoint, like for like
- 24:09Speaker 4: social media and my job, it's going to be quarterbacks
- 24:13Speaker 4: and receivers the whole time.
- 24:14Speaker 2: I will say that in a lot of drills though,
- 24:17Speaker 2: like drills, like like running back drills like run into
- 24:20Speaker 2: the gaunt led doing coding drills different like ball security drills.
- 24:23Speaker 2: It does. They don't line up by by depth chart.
- 24:25Speaker 4: So here's what I'm gonna do, Matt. For social media,
- 24:27Speaker 4: I'm going to say, here's the video of Dylan Jones
- 24:30Speaker 4: leading the running back.
- 24:31Speaker 2: Just got your drills. That'll post, yeah, post misleading.
- 24:39Speaker 3: Twitter one rather than like an Instagram.
- 24:41Speaker 4: One for instance. We'll just have buch stuff. Is anything
- 24:43Speaker 4: else you guys want to tell me?
- 24:45Speaker 3: I mean, we pretty much killed it. We went to
- 24:49Speaker 3: the Singer Bowl with the practice there. Yeah, So I
- 24:51Speaker 3: mean we're the people to give you advice for I
- 24:53Speaker 3: know you're the social media manager.
- 24:57Speaker 4: To the assistant to the regional manager for social media,
- 24:59Speaker 4: but and I like, we kind of do this. Yeah, well,
- 25:02Speaker 4: y'all should get out there do yeah.
- 25:05Speaker 3: Starts right after the show.
- 25:06Speaker 4: We can have Taylor talk about trains for the last
- 25:07Speaker 4: thirty minutes of the show, and you guys get on
- 25:09Speaker 4: out there.
- 25:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I say, first practice. I like, it's gonna be
- 25:12Speaker 2: awesome for the players to get out there. Yeah, but
- 25:14Speaker 2: it's from like a we're going to get viewership. It's
- 25:17Speaker 2: probably not gonna be great.
- 25:18Speaker 4: But there's a lot of storylines in fall camp outside
- 25:21Speaker 4: this negativity line that I'm excited for.
- 25:23Speaker 2: I want to know. I want to know what your
- 25:24Speaker 2: top storylines are going into LSU training camp.
- 25:29Speaker 4: I mean, probably the things that just told you. I
- 25:30Speaker 4: think that the defensive line and the offensive line are
- 25:33Speaker 4: the two biggest concerns. I don't think there's a ton
- 25:36Speaker 4: of concerns on this team. I think if you look
- 25:38Speaker 4: at those two, I think it's most intriguing for the
- 25:41Speaker 4: defensive line and what that rotation is going to look like,
- 25:43Speaker 4: because I think you have, like we said before, arguably
- 25:46Speaker 4: the most talented defensive line class from a recruiting standpoint
- 25:50Speaker 4: for anybody in the last twenty twenty five years of
- 25:52Speaker 4: college football. I think they there's gonna be multiple freshman
- 25:55Speaker 4: starters on the defensive line, So what does that rotation
- 25:57Speaker 4: look like? And then obviously up front, like we we
- 25:59Speaker 4: talked the offensive line of like a bunch, but it's
- 26:01Speaker 4: all Jordan seton, So what does that look like across
- 26:04Speaker 4: the board? Who's else is going to rotate in? And
- 26:08Speaker 4: I think because I think if there's a weak link
- 26:10Speaker 4: as of right now to this offense, I don't think
- 26:15Speaker 4: there's a lot of weak links on the team. It's
- 26:16Speaker 4: just that's the exactly I think it's the biggest unknown.
- 26:20Speaker 4: So I'm excited for that.
- 26:21Speaker 2: So I hear a lot of line talk, and rightfully so.
- 26:24Speaker 2: The offensive line was bad last year, into your defensive
- 26:26Speaker 2: line was not very talented from top to bottom.
- 26:29Speaker 5: You're already more talent, like you guys don't have a
- 26:31Speaker 5: ton of experience. There's a lot of young guys out there,
- 26:33Speaker 5: but you're already more talented than you wear a year ago.
- 26:38Speaker 2: And I'm curious to this, Like I hear a lot
- 26:41Speaker 2: of people talking about unless you can't, a lot of
- 26:43Speaker 2: things to watch for a lot of players to watch,
- 26:46Speaker 2: a lot of people interested in that running back rotation
- 26:48Speaker 2: just because it's new and we know that running back
- 26:51Speaker 2: room is going to be really good. A lot of
- 26:52Speaker 2: people on the offensive line, of course, the quarterback position
- 26:55Speaker 2: on offense, it's all new faces at wide receiver. Yeah,
- 26:59Speaker 2: And I am so curious because we are pretty confident
- 27:02Speaker 2: that the secondary is going to be very good, really
- 27:05Speaker 2: good at LSU this year, very good.
- 27:08Speaker 5: Maybe start no starters, you're you might be the best
- 27:11Speaker 5: of the sec secondary wise, I am really concerned about
- 27:15Speaker 5: the depth at secondary with aiden Andy going down in
- 27:18Speaker 5: the spring like he was playing a lot in the spring,
- 27:20Speaker 5: like he was a replicent.
- 27:21Speaker 2: Two.
- 27:21Speaker 5: You got Jakeem Jackson who's played a little bit here.
- 27:25Speaker 5: Outside of that, there's a lot of new I mean,
- 27:26Speaker 5: you got you have some freshman coming in. I mean
- 27:29Speaker 5: Fahim Delane comes from Ohio State, hadn't played a ton
- 27:31Speaker 5: of college football and it's never played here. Like that's
- 27:34Speaker 5: what I'm looking at the secondary depth, Like you're starting
- 27:37Speaker 5: four and the Shawn Spears of the star who might
- 27:40Speaker 5: be the guy I would I would go out there
- 27:42Speaker 5: and watch at fall.
- 27:43Speaker 4: Camps are great.
- 27:44Speaker 2: But outside of that's yeah, question mark.
- 27:46Speaker 4: Their SERI thing is a good point. But like I
- 27:48Speaker 4: guess from my standpoint too, I look at that and say,
- 27:51Speaker 4: with like everyone that talks about from the outside the things,
- 27:55Speaker 4: LSU is gonna fail this season, which is shocking to
- 27:57Speaker 4: me that people are they just watched they want bingo,
- 28:00Speaker 4: like like everybody that has been there's no way this
- 28:02Speaker 4: thing works with so much dysfunction. It's like, what do
- 28:04Speaker 4: you like? What have you watched at Ole miss which
- 28:06Speaker 4: is who's dysfunctional? The Saint Louisiana. I mean, I think
- 28:11Speaker 4: the way that everything went down. Like like that's been
- 28:13Speaker 4: like kind of like a talking point.
- 28:15Speaker 2: I'm not asking you that. Yeah, yeah, I get that's
- 28:17Speaker 2: the overall all the discussion, but like what that, it's
- 28:20Speaker 2: been pretty.
- 28:21Speaker 4: Smooth, right and stuff. And like everyone's like, well, he
- 28:24Speaker 4: can't you know, he loses all these games that he shouldn't.
- 28:26Speaker 4: It's like he did in twenty twenty four and then
- 28:28Speaker 4: guess what in twenty twenty five he corrected that mistake.
- 28:31Speaker 4: I mean he was he was one quarter away from
- 28:33Speaker 4: being undefeated at Ole miss With and so like I
- 28:36Speaker 4: people talk about like Levitt not being as good as everyone,
- 28:39Speaker 4: like you know, you know, like maybe he's built up
- 28:41Speaker 4: to be or his ranking was in the portal. Tell
- 28:43Speaker 4: me a quarterback that's failed in link Kivin's offense like
- 28:46Speaker 4: one time. So I think from the receiver standpoint, that
- 28:48Speaker 4: is gonna be fascinating because there's a lot of bodies there, yep,
- 28:50Speaker 4: a lot of new faces. But also I just have
- 28:53Speaker 4: zero doubt that that's going to work. Like like whoever,
- 28:55Speaker 4: whatever the rotation is, they're going to get it.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Is just so in the recent history is and I
- 29:02Speaker 2: say recent last ten to fifteen years has produced the
- 29:05Speaker 2: best wide receivers easy out man. Well, okay, so two
- 29:12Speaker 2: of the top three receivers of NFL are for sure
- 29:16Speaker 2: league like they are always have a top end talent
- 29:19Speaker 2: at wide receiver. LSU fans know nothing about the past
- 29:23Speaker 2: catchers outside of trade as Green. This year, it's going
- 29:26Speaker 2: to be fascinating to see. And I brought the secondary because,
- 29:30Speaker 2: like Taylor said, our starting are starting four, five, six,
- 29:34Speaker 2: whatever you want to call it. In the backfield on
- 29:37Speaker 2: the secondary is really good. So it's going to be
- 29:39Speaker 2: a really good Uh, it's going to be a really
- 29:42Speaker 2: good measuring stick to see where these receivers are and
- 29:45Speaker 2: who's going to stick out early.
- 29:48Speaker 5: If nobody sticks out as the alpha, people are gonna
- 29:51Speaker 5: freak out about that.
- 29:51Speaker 2: It doesn't matter. It's okay.
- 29:52Speaker 5: If we have mentioned it Tom again, he had five
- 29:55Speaker 5: receivers last year with at least six hundred yards at
- 29:57Speaker 5: old miss nobody nobody with a thousand right and five
- 30:01Speaker 5: receivers with at least six hundred yards, They're gonna have
- 30:03Speaker 5: a heavy rotation, Like and Winston Watkins is right at
- 30:06Speaker 5: four hundred, So I mean that's your that's your sixthy
- 30:08Speaker 5: guy right there.
- 30:09Speaker 2: They're gonna have a heavy rotation doesn't. That's why you
- 30:11Speaker 2: bring in thirteen guys, right, because you don't play seven
- 30:14Speaker 2: of you are gonna go so fast. You want to
- 30:17Speaker 2: have as many fresh bodies as you can. So series
- 30:21Speaker 2: one rotation, then you're gonna have a second series rotation.
- 30:23Speaker 2: Then maybe maybe you're rotating your personnel groups because you
- 30:27Speaker 2: never come off the field. They don't, they don't. They
- 30:30Speaker 2: don't do a lot of substitute So they don't do
- 30:33Speaker 2: a lot of substitute during because they don't want the defense,
- 30:35Speaker 2: so they want to get you tired. So they're gonna
- 30:36Speaker 2: keep fresh guys out there, and they're gonna you know,
- 30:39Speaker 2: they're going to substitute fresh receivers in against the same
- 30:43Speaker 2: defensive backs you're going against. Defenses aren't gonna sub their
- 30:46Speaker 2: entire linebacker crew and their defensive back crew. So that's
- 30:50Speaker 2: the advantage. That's why you bring thirteen thirteen plus receivers
- 30:53Speaker 2: in in the transfer portal. So are we going to break? Yeah,
- 30:57Speaker 2: let's go to break, So save your point. We'll come
- 30:59Speaker 2: back and continue this conversation about kind of what we're

- 34:55Speaker 2: we're looking forward to seeing, looking forward to the stories
- 34:58Speaker 2: to that we're hearing to hearing players talk and uh
- 35:02Speaker 2: at press conference. Will probably learn a lot more at
- 35:04Speaker 2: the press conferences than then, and the media is going
- 35:07Speaker 2: to get access to during practice. But it's gonna be
- 35:09Speaker 2: awesome just to see the Tigers take the field. Marlo,
- 35:12Speaker 2: I know you're excited about seeing mister Lane Kiffin.
- 35:16Speaker 4: It looks good.
- 35:20Speaker 2: You see the fishing pig.
- 35:22Speaker 6: Jack showed Victoria. I was like, link keiffn kind of ripped.
- 35:26Speaker 4: Kind of ripped, brother very ripped.
- 35:29Speaker 2: Got you impressive?
- 35:30Speaker 3: Hear me out, Wait, Kiffin, I'll pull it up.
- 35:36Speaker 6: I'll pull it up.
- 35:37Speaker 4: It's crazy. He looks like you. Matt not not as
- 35:42Speaker 4: good as ankles.
- 35:43Speaker 3: We obviously no one Matt's cankles. Yeah, no one's touching those.
- 35:48Speaker 2: Statistically, not a cankle. We proved that here on this show.
- 35:54Speaker 4: I've had the largest largest margin.
- 35:57Speaker 2: Yep, so the smallest difference between mean calf diameter two
- 36:01Speaker 2: ankle down there, so the small smallest percentage. I remembered.
- 36:05Speaker 4: I was terrified.
- 36:06Speaker 2: Why are you terrified?
- 36:08Speaker 6: No, I just listened to else show, was listening in
- 36:11Speaker 6: a cold sweat. It was it was mine. I brought
- 36:14Speaker 6: it from home.
- 36:15Speaker 7: Bro.
- 36:16Speaker 4: I want to really measure having a good ankle day.
- 36:19Speaker 4: I love a good ankle like hydrated.
- 36:21Speaker 2: You have good, good and bad.
- 36:23Speaker 4: Yeah, sure, yeah, I mean there used to be times
- 36:25Speaker 4: like I would be like, just sit at my desk
- 36:27Speaker 4: all day and I'd be like not really moving a lot,
- 36:29Speaker 4: and then I would like look down him.
- 36:30Speaker 2: Like, good lord, you gotta kick your legs up like this.
- 36:33Speaker 2: Keep the book looks good. So you had a story
- 36:37Speaker 2: about laying Kiffin. We're down below, down to your Bama days.
- 36:42Speaker 4: Okay, but it was I.
- 36:46Speaker 2: Guess you want to roll Tad right now?
- 36:49Speaker 3: So bad.
- 36:53Speaker 4: They're gonna be bad this year? Uh no, So here,
- 36:56Speaker 4: So this was a story that I really am a
- 36:59Speaker 4: burning already.
- 37:02Speaker 2: Are they eliminated today?
- 37:04Speaker 4: Lane? Look at his chest there just so leathery though,
- 37:14Speaker 4: smile the cold light up room. Yeah, I don't know
- 37:18Speaker 4: if that's that recent though it's from yesterday.
- 37:21Speaker 2: I don't think so. So Cookie looks a little bit.
- 37:24Speaker 2: He was younger. I saw him. It was on August
- 37:27Speaker 2: two days. It was at Hester's football camp.
- 37:30Speaker 4: It looks like, actually you can right here because the
- 37:32Speaker 4: way the tide is coming in, it probably is from that,
- 37:35Speaker 4: looks Taylor. What would you say from the weather stand point?
- 37:37Speaker 4: Probably may h.
- 37:39Speaker 6: Dude, I think I should think mid June of this year.
- 37:42Speaker 4: Yeah, okay. So here's the story. And this is why
- 37:45Speaker 4: I love Lane Kimvin's offense and you apparently hate it.
- 37:50Speaker 4: But it is so beautifully simplistic and and and so efficient.
- 37:56Speaker 4: And so there's a story about Alabama is going in
- 38:00Speaker 4: twenty thirteen. They've won three other four nationals. We get it. Deal, Okay,
- 38:04Speaker 4: I'm just setting up the story. God, dang, you guys
- 38:06Speaker 4: are sensitive personally. Me I'm very sensitive personally, but I
- 38:13Speaker 4: forget how people are so sensive about Alabama something.
- 38:15Speaker 2: You're just so easy.
- 38:16Speaker 4: That's very true on the eyes. And so here's the thing.
- 38:20Speaker 4: They they go into this meeting afters they lose obviously
- 38:22Speaker 4: in the Kick six. Now in that game album had
- 38:24Speaker 4: like five possessions inside of Auburn's thirty. Didn't get a
- 38:27Speaker 4: game point.
- 38:27Speaker 2: Just shut up, Taylor, and so so don't say that
- 38:30Speaker 2: it's my kids all the time. Don't say that.
- 38:32Speaker 4: Okay, So they, uh, you don't said up. So they
- 38:35Speaker 4: go into the off season. They don't go to the
- 38:37Speaker 4: NAT Championship game. They got to play Oklahoma. They get
- 38:39Speaker 4: boat Race Pokahoma. They have an offensive meeting and it's
- 38:41Speaker 4: Doug nas Meyer's the OC and and Saban brings in
- 38:44Speaker 4: Kiffen as like an analyst, like just what's going on
- 38:46Speaker 4: with the offense because there was like shortcomings they should
- 38:49Speaker 4: have probably won that game and couldn't do anything on
- 38:51Speaker 4: offense blah blah blah. And he is like watching all
- 38:54Speaker 4: this tape with him and neus Myer's taking him through
- 38:55Speaker 4: all like the ideologies and what they're trying to do offensively,
- 38:59Speaker 4: and finally Kevin goes, all right, this is pretty simple,
- 39:02Speaker 4: like and he gets to a whiteboard and he goes two, four, nine,
- 39:07Speaker 4: twenty seven eighty eight. He goes, these are your five
- 39:09Speaker 4: best players. Just get them the ball all the time.
- 39:13Speaker 4: And it was like, yelden a kid named Dandrew White,
- 39:17Speaker 4: Amari Cooper, Derrick Henry, and O. J. Howard. And the
- 39:21Speaker 4: reason why I think that's insightful because it seems pretty obvious, like, yeah,
- 39:25Speaker 4: get Derek Henry Amari Cooper the ball. But if you
- 39:27Speaker 4: look at their next two seasons, Marii Cooper had like
- 39:30Speaker 4: one hundred and seventeen catches. The year after that has
- 39:32Speaker 4: like wins the Blittany coff The year after that, Derek
- 39:34Speaker 4: Henry obviously whens the Heisman, has like three hundred and
- 39:36Speaker 4: ninety five carries. If you look at what he did
- 39:39Speaker 4: from a volume standpoint at like for his pass catchers
- 39:43Speaker 4: and then also for his running backs at at Ole
- 39:44Speaker 4: Miss last year Key one least, he had three hundred
- 39:46Speaker 4: and six carries. It was fifty more than anyone else
- 39:48Speaker 4: in the entire conference, So like he is going to
- 39:51Speaker 4: force feed his best players the ball over and over
- 39:54Speaker 4: and over again. So who are those five players going
- 39:57Speaker 4: to be? Like Treda is gonna be one of them.
- 39:58Speaker 4: That's why I think Trady's gonn have a massive year
- 40:01Speaker 4: like everyone, but who are the other guys going to be?
- 40:03Speaker 4: And I think at running back you don't see a
- 40:05Speaker 4: ton of running back by committee under Kiffin. Not saying
- 40:08Speaker 4: it won't happen because you have some really good backs
- 40:10Speaker 4: this year, but that's that's one of the things I'm
- 40:13Speaker 4: very interested in seeing, is or who are the guys
- 40:15Speaker 4: that kind of lead Well, you have to numbers.
- 40:18Speaker 2: I would say that Lane is probably a guy that's
- 40:21Speaker 2: going to adapt to his roster. I think you kind
- 40:23Speaker 2: of mentioned that, so like if two of your running
- 40:27Speaker 2: backs are two of your top five guys, right, he'll
- 40:30Speaker 2: find a way right at that point, and.
- 40:32Speaker 4: They have different skill sets, so it kind of makes
- 40:34Speaker 4: sense that that could happen and it'll.
- 40:36Speaker 5: Be to your point, I think it was like his
- 40:37Speaker 5: first year at Florida Florida Atlantic or after Devin Singletary
- 40:42Speaker 5: love for his last year he maybe had like a
- 40:44Speaker 5: two headed and then his first year at Old Mollis God.
- 40:46Speaker 5: But after that it was Judkins straight into Lacy. I
- 40:49Speaker 5: mean he yeah, to your point, he kind of rolls
- 40:51Speaker 5: with one guy and.
- 40:51Speaker 4: Just everybody in. It's like eleven years, like his last
- 40:54Speaker 4: eleven years as like a head coach in OC combined,
- 40:56Speaker 4: he's had I believe it's eight quarterbacks that have had
- 41:00Speaker 4: three thousand yards passing and or at least thirty total touchdowns.
- 41:03Speaker 4: Like it's just been no matter who it is, right,
- 41:06Speaker 4: Corral Jackson, Dart, anybody at Florida Atlantic. The only years
- 41:09Speaker 4: that he didn't, he had the kid at Florid Atlantic
- 41:12Speaker 4: who had twenty nine touchdowns and like twenty two hundred
- 41:15Speaker 4: yards rushing. So there's no part of me that thinks
- 41:19Speaker 4: this is gonna fail. I just his track record is
- 41:21Speaker 4: too strong offensively to think that you're going to have
- 41:25Speaker 4: issues on the offense.
- 41:27Speaker 2: There's never any guarantee on success, right, and we and
- 41:31Speaker 2: we got to be a little bit gun shy at
- 41:32Speaker 2: LSU just because of how bad it was last year
- 41:35Speaker 2: on offense. But if you are predicting LSU to be
- 41:39Speaker 2: bad on offense this year, you're just a hater and
- 41:41Speaker 2: you want them to be bad, right, And you're just
- 41:43Speaker 2: outside of you're a Bama fan, one of your buddies,
- 41:47Speaker 2: and you just want them to be bad. So if
- 41:50Speaker 2: you're predicting that, right, you just want it to be Now,
- 41:53Speaker 2: is that a guarantee that LSU's gonna be good on it? No,
- 41:55Speaker 2: there's no guarantee in anything. It's live sports. But the
- 41:59Speaker 2: probability if you are looking at the roster, looking at
- 42:02Speaker 2: link of his history, is they will have a decent
- 42:05Speaker 2: amount of success and potentially a lot of success.
- 42:08Speaker 4: So and also just a piggyback on that, you could
- 42:11Speaker 4: just be I can still talk about objectively even though
- 42:13Speaker 4: I grew up in a house school damafe Yeah for sure.
- 42:16Speaker 2: And we'll come back and we'll get you. We'll get
- 42:18Speaker 2: we'll wrap up our thoughts on what we're looking for
- 42:20Speaker 2: on during LSU training camp when we come back right here.
- 42:22Speaker 4: On off Ben off the bench, all right.
- 42:24Speaker 2: First, American Banking Trust FABT dot com the local bank,
- 42:29Speaker 2: doing business the local way and doing business the right way.
- 42:32Speaker 2: So if you have you're starting a new bank account
- 42:35Speaker 2: for maybe it's a child, you want to start a
- 42:37Speaker 2: saving the account. Maybe you're just looking to bank with
- 42:39Speaker 2: somebody a little bit different. You have an account with
- 42:41Speaker 2: the the national company that you got to call an
- 42:43Speaker 2: eight hundred number two, go through a phone tree just
- 42:45Speaker 2: to get a representative. And you just want to deal
- 42:48Speaker 2: with somebody locally that you can walk into a bank location,
- 42:51Speaker 2: shake their hand, looking in the eye, and ask questions
- 42:53Speaker 2: and get direct answers on your money that you are
- 42:56Speaker 2: holding with them. So that's First American Banking Trust doing
- 43:00Speaker 2: business for over a century, over one hundred years. They've
- 43:03Speaker 2: been doing business locally here in Louisiana. So just think about, like,
- 43:07Speaker 2: if you are wanting to expand your business, maybe you're
- 43:10Speaker 2: expanding your family. You need a bit and you need
- 43:11Speaker 2: a bigger house, looking for a mortgage, looking for a helock,
- 43:14Speaker 2: looking for a business line of credit, whatever it is,
- 43:16Speaker 2: you're doing it locally here in Louisiana. Make sure that
- 43:19Speaker 2: you're dealing with the bank making decisions here in Louisiana
- 43:21Speaker 2: as well. So go to First American Banking Trust FABT
- 43:24Speaker 2: dot com.
- 43:31Speaker 8: Friends A little to strange, you know, in the end, banger,
- 43:42Speaker 8: that's why I'm just kind of listening.
- 43:44Speaker 2: I've kind of got lost.
- 43:45Speaker 4: That's wrong. It might be a top ten song all
- 43:47Speaker 4: time for me.
- 43:49Speaker 2: Yeah, that's it. It's a big statement.
- 43:51Speaker 3: It's a good song.
- 43:52Speaker 2: It's a great song.
- 43:53Speaker 3: I don't know about top ten.
- 43:55Speaker 2: I know we had to. We changed it up yesterday
- 43:58Speaker 2: with our music on a Tuesday. We're we're catching up.
- 44:00Speaker 4: Today, lady switched it.
- 44:03Speaker 2: Great job, all right, welcome back to Off the Bench.
- 44:07Speaker 2: Closing out our number one right here. We got doctor
- 44:10Speaker 2: Steven Ethers joining the show at the top of hour
- 44:12Speaker 2: at number two. But first we kind of want to
- 44:14Speaker 2: wrap up here in the foxhol wrap up our LSU
- 44:18Speaker 2: pre training camp talk. I want to kick it over
- 44:21Speaker 2: to a Landra and I know that it's a lot
- 44:24Speaker 2: being said. Of course, there all eyes on Sam Levitt.
- 44:26Speaker 2: We've talked to me, Taylor, my guy will stop texting
- 44:28Speaker 2: about type benefield. Give me somebody else that you think
- 44:32Speaker 2: that you got your eyes on in training camp, or
- 44:35Speaker 2: maybe somebody that's a little bit under talked about, maybe
- 44:38Speaker 2: underrated going into training.
- 44:39Speaker 7: We kind of talked about it in the spring when
- 44:41Speaker 7: they reported for like spring practice and stuff like that,
- 44:43Speaker 7: and I mentioned Jackson Harris. I'm excited to see what
- 44:47Speaker 7: Jackson Harris does in Lane Kiffin's offense because we did
- 44:50Speaker 7: lose some wide receivers and added a bunch, Like I mean,
- 44:53Speaker 7: we added some wide receivers. If there's something that we
- 44:56Speaker 7: added in the transfer portal, it's a wide number we
- 44:59Speaker 7: hit the over. I think Jackson Harris is going to
- 45:01Speaker 7: be somebody that can break out and Lane Kiffin's offense.
- 45:04Speaker 7: So I'm excited to see what Jackson Harris does this
- 45:06Speaker 7: season and if we hear anything about him coming out
- 45:09Speaker 7: of camp.
- 45:09Speaker 2: He got the most first team reps out of anybody
- 45:11Speaker 2: in the spring. Yeah, it'll be interesting. Like like Taylor
- 45:14Speaker 2: mentioned earlier, there's a lot of receivers that are going
- 45:16Speaker 2: to get a lot of yards and a lot of opportunities.
- 45:18Speaker 2: Which one is going to stand out? Is there going
- 45:20Speaker 2: to be one guy that stands out as a number
- 45:22Speaker 2: one type wide receiver from a production standpoint? We will
- 45:26Speaker 2: see and we'll learn a lot this training camp. So
- 45:29Speaker 2: looking forward to We're going to close out our number
- 45:31Speaker 2: one right here. But stick with us the rest of
