- 0:47Speaker 1: You know him from his famed movies, Encino Man, and
- 0:51Speaker 1: his podcast variety show on YouTube, The PMS Podcast. You

- 1:02Speaker 1: My friend, Mr. Pauly Shore. Shine that light on me.
- 1:11Speaker 2: I'll sit and tell you my stories. Shine on me
- 1:19Speaker 2: and I will find you. So you just had Tommy on?
- 1:35Speaker 2: Tommy Lee? Yeah, dude. That guy. Oh, my God. He's wild, huh? Oh,
- 1:43Speaker 2: my God, dude. I mean, the fact that he's still alive,
- 1:46Speaker 2: those guys, dude. I mean, he's sober, though.
- 1:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:50Speaker 2: But still, dude. Did you party? Dude, he fucking ran hard, bro.
- 1:54Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Like, hard. Like, all those guys ran really hard. Did you?
- 1:59Speaker 1: Because you probably saw a lot of those bands. You
- 2:00Speaker 1: probably partied with a lot of those guys, huh?
- 2:02Speaker 2: Are we rolling? Yeah.
- 2:04Speaker 3: Fuck.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Did you party with a lot of- Say hi to
- 2:06Speaker 2: my uncle? Yeah, sure. He's in Iowa. What's up, Uncle Gesture?
- 2:09Speaker 2: What's up, bro? What's up, Gesture? Gesture, what's up? He's
- 2:12Speaker 2: in Iowa. He's a big fan, dude. Big fan. He
- 2:15Speaker 2: told me if you wear a hat, I wear a hat. Really? Okay,
- 2:17Speaker 2: I'll go. I'll rock out. No, no. You said you're
- 2:18Speaker 2: going to wear the hat. We wear the hat like that.
- 2:21Speaker 2: You know what's cool about this show? Because I was
- 2:23Speaker 2: thinking about you're the rat, right?
- 2:25Speaker 3: Uh-huh.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Is that what- And you are the weasel. The weasel, bro.
- 2:32Speaker 2: The rat and the what? And the weasel. What do
- 2:35Speaker 2: you think? So, DePete, I was going to ask you this.
- 2:37Speaker 2: You know, I was coming here, and I've known you
- 2:39Speaker 2: for a long time. I haven't sat down with you yet.
- 2:41Speaker 2: You know, and I always say this to comedians that
- 2:42Speaker 2: are doing really well. Like, I've been in the business
- 2:44Speaker 2: my whole life. Like, I have. I mean, since I
- 2:47Speaker 2: was little, little, little. I watched so many guys, you know,
- 2:50Speaker 2: come up. Tony Hinchcliffe now and different guys like yourself.
- 2:54Speaker 2: And I'm not just saying this to get on your
- 2:57Speaker 2: dick or any of that shit. I'm really happy for you.
- 2:59Speaker 2: And I've said that to you before, and I know
- 3:00Speaker 2: how hard it is. Take it in. I know it's
- 3:03Speaker 2: hard to let love in, isn't it? It's hard to
- 3:05Speaker 2: let love in. But it's coming from Pauly Shore. I'm
- 3:08Speaker 2: very happy for you, for real.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 3:10Speaker 2: I know how hard you've worked. I know how hard
- 3:13Speaker 2: you've done this and how it's just kind of taken
- 3:15Speaker 2: off for you. So I see your Instagrams, and I
- 3:18Speaker 2: see all these people that you're playing in front of,
- 3:20Speaker 2: and I'm very, very happy for you because... It's fucking awesome. Thanks, man.
- 3:24Speaker 2: I mean, it's fucking like, you know, it's pretty cool.
- 3:26Speaker 1: You always have something kind of supportive to say or
- 3:28Speaker 1: inquire when I see you. And so I want to
- 3:32Speaker 1: say I appreciate that, man.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Yeah, and I appreciate you appreciating me. All right. I
- 3:36Speaker 2: appreciate you appreciating me. You said, go on. No, no, no. Gesture,
- 3:41Speaker 2: what's up? I think we should take our hats off now. Okay,
- 3:44Speaker 2: hats off. You know what I mean? Hats off. Because
- 3:46Speaker 2: it's the rat and the weasel, bro. Chinese. The hair
- 3:52Speaker 2: looks good, man. Thank you.
- 3:53Speaker 1: It looks great, actually.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Thank you. I was with Gary Shanley's hairdresser. He set
- 3:57Speaker 2: it up for me, so that's good stuff.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Dude, when you said, yeah, you have a tough time
- 4:02Speaker 1: letting love in, that's true.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Yeah, very much so, which is why I'm single, which
- 4:07Speaker 2: is why I'm sure you're single. Yeah. You know what
- 4:09Speaker 2: I mean? Because, yeah, women like us, most women like
- 4:12Speaker 2: us because we've been on TV and movies or they've
- 4:14Speaker 2: seen us on our thing. Like, oh, my God, I
- 4:16Speaker 2: love Biodome. I love the squirrely rat or whatever your
- 4:19Speaker 2: fucking shit is on the stage. The bad pigeon, yeah.
- 4:21Speaker 2: The bad pigeon, you know what I mean? But then
- 4:23Speaker 2: after that, you're a human being. And you're a person
- 4:25Speaker 2: with a brain, a heart, a smile, all that shit.
- 4:28Speaker 2: And at the end of the day, you don't know
- 4:29Speaker 2: if they're liking you for the rat. Let me see
- 4:32Speaker 2: the rat tail. Let me see that. Throw that shit
- 4:33Speaker 2: out in the back. Yeah, that fucking rat shit. That's
- 4:36Speaker 2: tight ass shit.
- 4:36Speaker 1: I pull this out on Easter sometimes. And actually, we
- 4:39Speaker 1: did this. I'm thinking I'll get like a half inch
- 4:41Speaker 1: extension on this part.
- 4:42Speaker 2: It's very Bon Jovi back in 1987, dude. It's very
- 4:44Speaker 2: Bon Jovi.
- 4:47Speaker 1: First song I ever listened to was Bungie.
- 4:49Speaker 2: But for real, is it hard to let love in?
- 4:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think it's hard for me to notice
- 4:53Speaker 1: who is appropriate for me to love, but I think
- 4:56Speaker 1: it's hard for me to feel. It's just somebody could
- 5:00Speaker 1: sit there and tell you, man, I really love you.
- 5:02Speaker 1: And I'd be like, all right, buddy, let's keep it.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Let's keep it– or a woman. Hopefully it's a woman.
- 5:08Speaker 2: All right, woman.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Let's keep it moving here. It's just hard for me
- 5:11Speaker 1: to like– I just– Yeah.
- 5:13Speaker 2: I also think that– My receptors are bad.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:15Speaker 2: I think that once people get over the fact that
- 5:17Speaker 2: you're the celebrity and all that stuff, then you're stuck
- 5:20Speaker 2: with you as a human. And then at the end
- 5:22Speaker 2: of the day, like that's really what it's about. You
- 5:24Speaker 2: know what I mean? Do you want to hang out?
- 5:25Speaker 2: Do you want to go get sushi? Do you want
- 5:27Speaker 2: to go fuck around? You know what I mean, right?
- 5:29Speaker 1: Well, I think sometimes– this is interesting, Paulie, and I
- 5:32Speaker 1: think it's like– Well, sometimes I wonder if by creating
- 5:40Speaker 1: a life or aiming for some level of popularity, if
- 5:42Speaker 1: you're really trying to create an ambiance or create something
- 5:48Speaker 1: between you and other people that gives you a barrier.
- 5:52Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying? Does that make any sense?
- 5:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, because they see the persona. Yeah. and they
- 5:57Speaker 2: think that you're the persona. Like sometimes, like I was
- 5:58Speaker 2: with this girl.
- 5:59Speaker 1: Like I'll create it so you never even have to
- 6:01Speaker 1: know the real me and maybe I don't even know
- 6:03Speaker 1: the real me. But so I'm gonna make this and
- 6:07Speaker 1: hopefully you'll like this.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Yeah, because what happened was is about three months ago
- 6:11Speaker 2: I met this girl on the road. I think it
- 6:12Speaker 2: was in Iowa with my uncle. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And
- 6:15Speaker 2: I met this girl and she loves Son-in-Law. This movie
- 6:17Speaker 2: I did a long time ago, Son-in-Law. And she wouldn't
- 6:20Speaker 2: have sex with me unless I put on my chaps
- 6:22Speaker 2: and I put in my hair because I used to
- 6:24Speaker 2: have long hair. So in order for me to have
- 6:26Speaker 2: sex with her, guess what I had to do? Put
- 6:28Speaker 2: it on. Put it on. Wow. Yeah, and then I
- 6:30Speaker 2: had to do all this shit like that. And then
- 6:33Speaker 2: once I orgasmed, then I'd take the shit off. And
- 6:35Speaker 2: I left. I felt bad. I wound up at Waffle
- 6:37Speaker 2: House by myself at the end of the night crying
- 6:39Speaker 2: with a fucking tear. Yeah. Oh, yeah.
- 6:42Speaker 1: I think if you have to dress up to have sex,
- 6:44Speaker 1: it's probably going to get– yeah, I would cry after.
- 6:46Speaker 2: I don't know if I can do this right now. Okay,
- 6:53Speaker 2: I'm all right. I'm all right. Thank you.
- 6:56Speaker 1: No, I'm here for you, man. And I'm happy to
- 6:59Speaker 1: see you today.
- 7:00Speaker 2: You know what? I saw Kid Rock on this right here,
- 7:02Speaker 2: and I have something to fucking say to you, motherfucking
- 7:05Speaker 2: Kid Rock. Tell him, dude. First of all, don't disrespect
- 7:07Speaker 2: Theo Vaughn the whole time you're wearing this and fucking this, dude.
- 7:12Speaker 2: You're wearing this and this. What the fuck, bro? You
- 7:15Speaker 2: come to L.A., you got to show your pretty face. No,
- 7:18Speaker 2: I'm just kidding. No, I love Kid Rock. Kid Rock,
- 7:21Speaker 2: what's up, bro? Where was the first time you met him? Dude,
- 7:25Speaker 2: that's a fucking hilarious story. For real. Kid Rock, what's up?
- 7:30Speaker 2: I haven't seen you since probably, no. No, what do
- 7:33Speaker 2: you mean? I used to go on tour. I used
- 7:34Speaker 2: to go on tour with this guy.
- 7:35Speaker 1: You don't even fucking know. Wally barely remembers it, bro.
- 7:39Speaker 2: No, I used to go on tour with this guy
- 7:41Speaker 2: when he had his little, his little, the little, the dwarf,
- 7:43Speaker 2: the kid.
- 7:44Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 7:45Speaker 2: What was that guy's name? Magic Baby? No, J- Jay-C. Oh, yeah, Jay-C. Yeah, Jay-C.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Bring him up. Oh, yeah, Joe. And also Uncle Cracker
- 7:54Speaker 2: was his DJ.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Is he still his DJ?
- 7:57Speaker 1: No, Uncle Cracker does perform with him sometimes, but Uncle
- 8:00Speaker 1: Cracker is on tour right now, I think, with Kenny Chesney, actually.
- 8:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:04Speaker 1: So this is when I found- It was Jay-C right there.
- 8:06Speaker 1: And the C was for Cancer, wasn't it? What happened
- 8:08Speaker 1: to him?
- 8:09Speaker 2: He just partied a lot. He was partying with Mini-Me
- 8:13Speaker 2: and that whole crew.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Yeah, this is like- They called him Andy Pillanakis. People
- 8:19Speaker 1: would call him because he would do like a lot
- 8:20Speaker 1: of pills.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Yeah. So what happened? So the first time I met
- 8:25Speaker 2: JC and Kid Rock and all this stuff, it was
- 8:28Speaker 2: fucking crazy. Have your guy pull up Conan O'Brien, Limp Bizkit.
- 8:33Speaker 2: I think it was late 90s. Pauly Shore, Kid Rock,
- 8:36Speaker 2: and fucking Limp Bizkit, Conan O'Brien. So I'm with Fred,
- 8:39Speaker 2: because this is when Fred started on MTV. I had
- 8:41Speaker 2: been on MTV for a long time. I was kind
- 8:43Speaker 2: of sad. I was going through this kind of transition part.
- 8:45Speaker 2: It's kind of when I did my movie Pauly Shore
- 8:47Speaker 2: is Dead. I know that Tommy Lee was on here recently,
- 8:50Speaker 2: who was in Pauly Shore is Dead. I've known Tommy
- 8:52Speaker 2: for a long time. And we went to Conan O'Brien,
- 8:56Speaker 2: and Fred was performing, I think it was Faith. You know,
- 9:00Speaker 2: he was the George Michael song Faith off of one
- 9:03Speaker 2: of his albums. And me and Kid Rock went with Fred,
- 9:06Speaker 2: and we're in the fucking background on Conan O'Brien. Do
- 9:09Speaker 2: you have it? I know it's there. I know it's
- 9:11Speaker 2: fucking there. It's there somewhere. There it is. Look at it.
- 9:15Speaker 2: This is fucking triple, triple. Look at this.
- 9:18Speaker 4: Wow.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Turn it up, dude. Can we hear it? Yeah, crank it.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Crank this motherfucker, dude. Yeah, look at this shit. Look at, there's, wait,
- 9:27Speaker 2: and look at Kid Rock in the corner, wait. In
- 9:28Speaker 2: the red jacket? Oh yeah, there he is in the
- 9:30Speaker 2: red jacket. Yeah. Fred, what's up, Fred? What's up, motherfucker Fred?
- 9:37Speaker 2: Out there killing it on the road right now. And
- 9:40Speaker 2: I guess it would be nice. Oh, look how young
- 9:42Speaker 2: he is. I'm talking at your body. Know that everybody's
- 9:48Speaker 2: got a body like you. And I gotta think it twice.
- 9:53Speaker 2: before I get you out of the way. So this
- 9:56Speaker 2: is where I first met Kid Rock. Look at him.
- 10:01Speaker 2: In the background. I think I'm wearing the hood, I think. Yeah,
- 10:05Speaker 2: that's me in the hood, I think. Oh, yeah, see, bro.
- 10:08Speaker 2: That's why Kid Rock's my fucking boy. What's up, Kid Rock? Triple, triple,
- 10:13Speaker 2: quadruple OG. I'll see you on Lake Michigan. We'll drink
- 10:16Speaker 2: some fucking beers. Gang, bro. Yeah, so that was pretty cool.
- 10:20Speaker 2: I'll see you up there in Charlevoix, baby. That's where
- 10:22Speaker 2: they party. Have you been up there? I was in
- 10:24Speaker 2: Lake Michigan for this last Fourth of July. I was
- 10:27Speaker 2: in Pentwater. Is it nice? Pentwater was beautiful, yeah. Because
- 10:31Speaker 2: I was born and raised in L.A. around the store. And,
- 10:34Speaker 2: you know, right there in West Hollywood and shit my
- 10:36Speaker 2: whole life. And this, it was this last Fourth of July.
- 10:41Speaker 2: I'm like, I don't want to be in Vegas. I
- 10:43Speaker 2: don't want to be in fucking Malibu. I don't want
- 10:45Speaker 2: to do that. I want to go to the middle America.
- 10:47Speaker 2: I want to see people with Trump flags.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:49Speaker 2: You know what I mean? I want to go out
- 10:51Speaker 2: there on the fucking, on Lake Michigan. So I got
- 10:53Speaker 2: a- You.
- 10:53Speaker 1: Don't want to piss on a big girl's back out there.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Yeah. You know what I'm saying, dude?
- 10:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:58Speaker 2: And I got an Airbnb right on the water with
- 11:00Speaker 2: my friend, my friends.
- 11:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:02Speaker 2: And I played a club there, a small little bar.
- 11:05Speaker 2: It was fucking sick. And we were in Pentwater, Michigan. Dude,
- 11:08Speaker 2: that's cool. I was looking for Kid Rock. It was cool.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Have you ever been to Lake Michigan? I don't think
- 11:13Speaker 2: I have. I would definitely go. It's dope, dude. Next
- 11:15Speaker 2: summer I'm going to go. It's huge. We'll just do
- 11:17Speaker 2: it next summer. Yeah, I would love to. Fucking 4th
- 11:19Speaker 2: of July. Do a show up there somewhere. It's awesome, dude.
- 11:22Speaker 1: Did you do the show on the 4th or no?
- 11:24Speaker 2: No, I took the 4th off. Yeah. I just watched fireworks,
- 11:27Speaker 2: but I did like five nights there and it was great.
- 11:30Speaker 2: Did you get out on the water? I went in
- 11:32Speaker 2: the water, yeah, of course. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 11:33Speaker 3: Nice.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Yeah, it was cool.
- 11:34Speaker 1: When you were a kid, like, I mean, you famously,
- 11:36Speaker 1: you grew up around the comedy store. Your mother was
- 11:38Speaker 1: the owner and your father was the owner.
- 11:40Speaker 2: Mm-hmm. And your family still owns it. Yes. Yeah.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Yes. And did you guys ever go on family vacations?
- 11:49Speaker 2: Well, my dad, Sammy Shore, the late, great Sammy Shore.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Give it up for my father. Let's put a picture
- 11:54Speaker 2: of my dad, Sammy Shore. Bring a picture of him up.
- 11:55Speaker 1: And I'll say this. I want to say this about
- 11:57Speaker 1: him before we even move. Sammy, I got to meet him.
- 11:59Speaker 4: Oh.
- 12:00Speaker 1: And we would talk sometimes about, this was interesting, he
- 12:03Speaker 1: wanted to make like a show about dogs, right? Yes.
- 12:07Speaker 1: And so he would call every now and then and
- 12:09Speaker 1: we would talk about this show about dogs.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:12Speaker 1: And his neighbor's dogs and his friend's dogs. And it was,
- 12:15Speaker 1: that was my only- It was called Funny Bones.
- 12:17Speaker 2: I don't know. Yeah, Funny Bones. Yeah, he did it.
- 12:19Speaker 2: He wound up doing it. Did he really? Yeah, he did.
- 12:21Speaker 2: He did some episodes, yeah.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Oh, because it was just interesting. That was the only
- 12:24Speaker 1: way that I knew him.
- 12:27Speaker 2: He was, you know, I love my mom. My mom
- 12:30Speaker 2: was the best. Not only was she a great, you know,
- 12:33Speaker 2: developing the comedians and artistic and all that stuff. But
- 12:36Speaker 2: as a mom, she was fucking a real. Yeah, but
- 12:38Speaker 2: she was a real mom. Was she really? Yeah, dude.
- 12:41Speaker 2: She took care of me. She was not like weird
- 12:43Speaker 2: or like just because she was busy at the comedy store,
- 12:46Speaker 2: she went there for my birthdays and all that stuff.
- 12:48Speaker 2: You know, she did the whole thing. We had slip
- 12:50Speaker 2: and slides. We had trampolines in the back. I had
- 12:53Speaker 2: a moped, all that shit. Did she like being a mom,
- 12:55Speaker 2: you think? Yeah, she was cool. She was a natural mom.
- 13:00Speaker 2: But my father, you know, he started the store. You know,
- 13:04Speaker 2: he started, there it is, Funny Bones. Yeah, but he
- 13:07Speaker 2: started the store because he needed a place to work
- 13:09Speaker 2: out and stand up, kind of like Joe at the mothership.
- 13:12Speaker 2: You know, Joe was like, he's like, I need a
- 13:13Speaker 2: place to work out. I go out to the mothership
- 13:16Speaker 2: and I have a club. So that was kind of
- 13:17Speaker 2: his vibe.
- 13:18Speaker 1: Do you see that when you go to the mothership now?
- 13:20Speaker 1: Do you feel some of that same energy almost in.
- 13:22Speaker 2: A weird way? Yeah, I definitely feel my mom there.
- 13:25Speaker 2: I feel my parents there. Yeah, for sure. You know,
- 13:27Speaker 2: it's great. I mean, he's got bar mitzvahs. And all
- 13:29Speaker 2: that stuff. And Joe's, you know, it's weird when I
- 13:32Speaker 2: see the guy, I start crying. I always fucking cry
- 13:35Speaker 2: when I see him. There's like an emotional connection that
- 13:37Speaker 2: I have with him. It's fucking weird.
- 13:39Speaker 1: It's funny you say that. That happens to me sometimes.
- 13:42Speaker 1: When I'm talking with Joey Diaz, sometimes that happens with me.
- 13:45Speaker 1: It's like it just like, I don't know, I'll think
- 13:48Speaker 1: some things about his life or something and I'll, I
- 13:51Speaker 1: don't know what it is, but my eyes will well up,
- 13:55Speaker 1: you know?
- 13:55Speaker 2: Yeah. And Joey Diaz is, yeah, all those guys. And
- 13:58Speaker 2: Holtzman's doing great.
- 13:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:59Speaker 2: Holtzman's doing great. And I tell him, I'm like, don't
- 14:02Speaker 2: leave the mothership. You know, just stay at the fucking mothership.
- 14:05Speaker 2: You're funny. You're going to hit. Because, you know, he
- 14:08Speaker 2: wants to make it like Dave Lucas and fucking– and
- 14:11Speaker 2: Cam and Montgomery and all these guys that were on Tony.
- 14:16Speaker 2: And I'm like, dude, just hang in there. You're fucking great.
- 14:19Speaker 2: And now he's starting to sell tickets. So if there's
- 14:21Speaker 2: anyone out there that wants to see a crazy motherfucking comedian,
- 14:24Speaker 2: Brian Holtzman is fucking awesome from the mothership, and we
- 14:27Speaker 2: love him so much. One of a kind, dude.
- 14:29Speaker 1: Brian would get up. This is one of my favorite
- 14:31Speaker 1: Brian Holtzman stories. So when Jeff, Piano Jeff, died of cancer,
- 14:39Speaker 1: covid or hiv right you could take your pick he
- 14:42Speaker 1: might have died of hiv ovid right i mean he
- 14:46Speaker 1: had something he had you know and if you don't
- 14:49Speaker 1: know him jeff scott bring up a picture of him
- 14:52Speaker 1: a beautiful man and he got hiv in uh connecticut
- 14:57Speaker 1: a long time ago prince princetown princetown yeah it was
- 15:00Speaker 1: like a hot gay district he told me about it
- 15:03Speaker 1: and um Yeah, he always took a whole bunch of pills. Yeah,
- 15:07Speaker 1: and he was always partying and just, you know, he
- 15:09Speaker 1: was always, you know.
- 15:10Speaker 3: Too lost.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Well, no, I wasn't saying party pills, like HIV pills. Oh,
- 15:13Speaker 2: he was? Yeah, he always had like a fistful of
- 15:16Speaker 2: HIV pills. Okay, well, I think so. No, pills like,
- 15:19Speaker 2: you know what I mean, that make him feel better. Right, well.
- 15:23Speaker 2: That are supposed to support AIDS. You know, the kind
- 15:25Speaker 2: that Magic Johnson has. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Those type of pills. Those Laker snacks, they call them now,
- 15:29Speaker 1: I think, right? Because I think that Lakers sponsor them now.
- 15:32Speaker 1: I think we should put our hats on.
- 15:34Speaker 3: Okay.
- 15:34Speaker 2: You know what I mean? We can mix it up. Oh, yeah, sure.
- 15:35Speaker 2: Because we got Gary Shanley here.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Yeah, it's that time of day. But he would also,
- 15:41Speaker 1: in between taking pills.
- 15:42Speaker 2: What does it say? In 1986, I was diagnosed with HIV.
- 15:44Speaker 2: I was diagnosed with HIV.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Cole told you, you have two years to live. Here's
- 15:47Speaker 1: a pamphlet with some information.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Good luck. Yeah, and he lived forever. Yeah, and now, yeah.
- 15:53Speaker 1: And this was, you had to take 20 pills a day,
- 15:55Speaker 1: he said right there. Now he also was doing cocaine, right? Yeah.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Part-time or whatever, semi-part-time. But anyway, bless him, no judgment.
- 16:03Speaker 1: None of this is judgment. But so they had a
- 16:05Speaker 1: call during COVID where it was a funeral. It was
- 16:09Speaker 1: his funeral over Zoom. It was a Zoom mural, right?
- 16:12Speaker 1: Or whatever they called them. And so we're on there
- 16:15Speaker 1: and people are crying. And, you know, Whitney was like
- 16:19Speaker 1: wearing a kimono and wandering around her mansion or whatever,
- 16:22Speaker 1: you know? And like, just, there was 75 people on
- 16:25Speaker 1: there and his Jeff's sister was on there and she
- 16:27Speaker 1: would speak. And every now and then, Brian Holtzman.
- 16:31Speaker 2: Oh, that's fucking hilarious.
- 16:32Speaker 1: Would chime in and go.
- 16:35Speaker 2: He had AIDS, people.
- 16:37Speaker 3: Right, right, right.
- 16:38Speaker 2: He had AIDS. Right.
- 16:41Speaker 1: And people, everybody would die laughing, bro.
- 16:46Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. He was the Harvey Milk of our time.
- 16:49Speaker 1: Just, Holtzman would just throw in these, like, it was
- 16:52Speaker 1: a pure comedy set and it was just one of, like,
- 16:55Speaker 1: it was that thing where it's like, laugh at the pain,
- 16:58Speaker 1: you know? And it was just unprecedented. But yeah, it's
- 17:01Speaker 1: great to see him thriving over there.
- 17:03Speaker 2: Yeah, his style is, you know, it's an acquired taste.
- 17:10Speaker 2: It's an acquired taste. You know, he does a lot
- 17:12Speaker 2: of these videos where he'll film people leaving his show.
- 17:15Speaker 2: Have you seen that? It's fucking hilarious because there's a
- 17:18Speaker 2: lot of people that leave his show.
- 17:19Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 17:20Speaker 2: You know what I mean? They get pissed off. So
- 17:21Speaker 2: they film it and people are like, that guy's fucking disgusting.
- 17:25Speaker 2: I'm going to call the club. Really? Pull one up.
- 17:28Speaker 2: Pull one of those videos up where Holtzman just clears
- 17:32Speaker 2: a room. He clears a room, dude. He had AIDS.
- 17:35Speaker 2: He had AIDS.
- 17:36Speaker 1: I mean, the guy's... Jeff's sister was crying and he
- 17:39Speaker 1: put that in.
- 17:39Speaker 2: Turn it up. What's up?
- 17:44Speaker 4: What did he say?
- 17:46Speaker 3: Look. What did he say?
- 17:49Speaker 4: He's pretty... He's pretty... You want.
- 17:56Speaker 2: He's what?
- 17:57Speaker 4: Too much.
- 18:00Speaker 1: That guy is.
- 18:02Speaker 4: Like he's too much. What the fuck are you talking about?
- 18:06Speaker 4: You can't with a 40-ish group. You can't. I'm a
- 18:10Speaker 4: fucking teacher. That is not for me. No thank you.
- 18:16Speaker 2: Fuck you and fuck him.
- 18:18Speaker 4: My family will pay our bills.
- 18:20Speaker 2: Don't worry.
- 18:21Speaker 4: Someone has to represent a generation. It's not you. Fuck him.
- 18:26Speaker 4: I don't fucking care.
- 18:30Speaker 2: You guys got to go see him. Okay, there you go.
- 18:32Speaker 2: I mean, it's basically, he walks a lot of people.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Hold on, let's see. This is five minutes later. Look
- 18:37Speaker 2: what happened.
- 18:37Speaker 3: This guy's fucking talking about fucking.
- 18:41Speaker 2: Oh, fuck that.
- 18:42Speaker 4: No, seriously, what did he say? No, honestly, you're fucking lying.
- 18:46Speaker 3: Oh, fuck him. I don't know.
- 18:48Speaker 4: Did you guys pay for that bill? No, what's that shit?
- 18:51Speaker 2: Give me my fucking money, you motherfucker.
- 18:54Speaker 3: Wow. Yeah.
- 18:56Speaker 1: That's classic. I didn't know they do this. They have
- 18:58Speaker 1: to keep doing more of this.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Yeah. But anyways, but it's a good time for comedy, man.
- 19:03Speaker 2: It is. It's fucking crazy, dude. It's crazy. When I
- 19:05Speaker 2: was growing up, you know, it was five guys that
- 19:09Speaker 2: were selling out the rooms that you guys sell out.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Is that true? Yeah, that's true. You had Dice, you
- 19:14Speaker 2: had Eddie Murphy, like three or four other guys. And
- 19:17Speaker 2: now there's a lot of fucking guys. Like the rooms
- 19:19Speaker 2: you play, it's insane. Oh yeah, it's crazy now. It's
- 19:21Speaker 2: fucking insane. I can't even believe it. I mean, you
- 19:23Speaker 2: must be pinching yourself. You walk out on the stage,
- 19:26Speaker 2: it's like fucking what, 20,000 people? No, no, no. 10,000
- 19:30Speaker 2: people and they got Ari Maness? How the fuck, right?
- 19:32Speaker 2: I'm grateful to have him around. Ari's a sweet guy.
- 19:34Speaker 1: He always speaks very highly of you.
- 19:36Speaker 3: Oh, cool. Always.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Yes, yes. I've taken him out on the road. The
- 19:40Speaker 2: thing is with you and I, Because we're similar in
- 19:42Speaker 2: a way. Like, we go out on the road and
- 19:44Speaker 2: we bring these guys. And, we know, and you know,
- 19:47Speaker 2: I know, and everyone else knows, the reason why people
- 19:50Speaker 2: are paying for the tickets is for us. But at
- 19:53Speaker 2: the end of the day, you got to take care
- 19:55Speaker 2: of your guys. And you also, they're there not just
- 19:58Speaker 2: to open the show. They're there to hang out for
- 20:00Speaker 2: you emotionally. And that's more important. So you got to
- 20:03Speaker 2: give them a little extra shekels for that. That's a
- 20:05Speaker 2: good point, man. You know what I'm saying? And that's
- 20:06Speaker 2: what I do. And I pay for everything. And I,
- 20:10Speaker 2: you know, I take care of my guys because, you know,
- 20:13Speaker 2: at the end of the day, we're lonely guys, me
- 20:15Speaker 2: and you. I mean, let's be honest. And if they
- 20:17Speaker 2: weren't there, you'd have some local opening for you, and
- 20:20Speaker 2: then you wouldn't be able to be with your homie. Yeah. Well,
- 20:23Speaker 2: it's definitely true. Yeah, you kind of factor that in.
- 20:25Speaker 1: It's like you think like, okay, I want to just– yeah,
- 20:27Speaker 1: your opener has almost become.
- 20:29Speaker 2: Who– Emotional support animal.
- 20:31Speaker 1: Who do I like being around? Who likes being around me?
- 20:34Speaker 1: Who can we both be around each other?
- 20:35Speaker 3: Hang.
- 20:36Speaker 2: It's all about the hang.
- 20:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:37Speaker 2: You know, like just sitting before you go on and
- 20:39Speaker 2: you feel like those are your real friends. Yeah. And
- 20:42Speaker 2: I think that's more important. And then obviously you're giving
- 20:44Speaker 2: them stage time and they're making some money. But at
- 20:46Speaker 2: the end of the day, we're fucking, we're broken wings, dude.
- 20:50Speaker 2: You know, we're fucked up, dude.
- 20:51Speaker 1: If your mom was pretty attentive and she was really
- 20:53Speaker 1: kind of there, what do you think kind of made
- 20:54Speaker 1: you that, turned you into the comedian, you think?
- 20:58Speaker 2: For me, I just, I don't know. I mean- I've
- 21:01Speaker 2: always loved making people laugh. You know what I mean?
- 21:03Speaker 2: Ever since I was a kid. I mean, it started
- 21:04Speaker 2: with Richard Pryor and Robin Williams and all those guys.
- 21:07Speaker 2: Because back in the day, I talk about this on
- 21:09Speaker 2: my one-man show. I have a one-man show that your
- 21:12Speaker 2: dude told me he saw. It's called Stick with the Dancing.
- 21:14Speaker 2: It's about my childhood. And it's everything before I made it.
- 21:20Speaker 2: It's all the shit that I have before I made it. Yeah,
- 21:22Speaker 2: it's all my childhood shit. But when I was a kid,
- 21:25Speaker 2: you know, my mom used to have a lot of
- 21:27Speaker 2: parties at the house. So she would always be like,
- 21:29Speaker 2: let's go back to the fucking house from the store.
- 21:31Speaker 2: You know what I mean? Yeah. And everyone would go
- 21:33Speaker 2: to the house, the Doheny house where, you know, where
- 21:35Speaker 2: I grew up in. And, you know, and it would
- 21:39Speaker 2: be like a Tuesday night and I'd be trying to sleep.
- 21:41Speaker 2: And I'd hear the party going downstairs. I had to
- 21:44Speaker 2: wake up for school in the morning because my mom's–
- 21:47Speaker 2: my mom's guardian, who is a Thai lady by the
- 21:50Speaker 2: name of Sunni, and the bar manager name was Ted,
- 21:52Speaker 2: and he worked at the club, and Sunni would have
- 21:54Speaker 2: to take me to school, and I had to wake
- 21:56Speaker 2: up in the morning, but they would be partying downstairs.
- 21:59Speaker 2: So I had to go downstairs, and I'd have to
- 22:03Speaker 2: tell my mom to shut up. I mean, but for real,
- 22:05Speaker 2: because my mom was from Wisconsin, and her voice would go,
- 22:08Speaker 2: and it would peer through the fucking laughter, and there
- 22:12Speaker 2: would be Richard Pryor, and there would be Robin, and
- 22:14Speaker 2: fucking Argus, and Richard Belzer, and and Tim Thomerson, and
- 22:18Speaker 2: Biff Maynard, and all these fucking guys. It was wild, dude. Like,
- 22:22Speaker 2: my shit, like, when I, like, the fact that I'm
- 22:24Speaker 2: still around and I'm okay is fucking weird.
- 22:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:28Speaker 2: You know what I mean? Oh, I can't imagine. It's
- 22:30Speaker 2: fucking weird because I've seen so much.
- 22:32Speaker 1: Do you feel like you had, you felt like you
- 22:34Speaker 1: had to compete to be, like, oh, well, in order
- 22:37Speaker 1: to be even seen, I have to be funny because
- 22:39Speaker 1: that's the environment.
- 22:40Speaker 2: No, it was just, no, because when I told them
- 22:42Speaker 2: to shut up, I had school in the morning, everyone laughed.
- 22:44Speaker 2: So it was like, that's what. Of course, dude. Yeah,
- 22:46Speaker 2: they would just laugh. So it was like. I was,
- 22:49Speaker 2: you know, I guess I was funny without knowing I
- 22:51Speaker 2: was funny when I was, you know, when I was
- 22:53Speaker 2: just a kid. But I always liked making people laugh. Like,
- 22:56Speaker 2: I always fucked around. And that's what Totally Pauly was.
- 22:59Speaker 2: I mean, Totally Pauly was like this kind of like
- 23:03Speaker 2: happy accident. You know, the thing on MTV. It was
- 23:06Speaker 2: just like this fucking storm. Yeah, how many episodes did
- 23:09Speaker 2: you guys do of it? We shot six years, dude.
- 23:11Speaker 2: Six years. Every day from 3 to 4.30.
- 23:15Speaker 1: Jesus.
- 23:15Speaker 2: That's what I was telling you when you came up
- 23:16Speaker 2: to my house. I'm like, dude, you're like I was
- 23:19Speaker 2: back when I first made it because you're like this.
- 23:21Speaker 2: People are like, ah, on you. And that's how it
- 23:24Speaker 2: was for me. But I was in my 20s.
- 23:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:26Speaker 2: How old are you?
- 23:27Speaker 1: I'm 44.
- 23:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:29Speaker 2: So imagine it when you're in your 20s. I can't.
- 23:31Speaker 2: I would not be alive.
- 23:32Speaker 1: I'd be deceased.
- 23:34Speaker 2: I'd be deceased.
- 23:34Speaker 1: But at least then the cocaine was safe to do.
- 23:37Speaker 2: Yeah, because you did a lot of that. I did
- 23:38Speaker 2: some of it. Not a lot, though.
- 23:40Speaker 1: I did a little more than I said. I just
- 23:42Speaker 1: said I did. Yeah, I did. Yeah, I did it.
- 23:45Speaker 2: Yeah, because you have mental stuff too, right? Are you
- 23:49Speaker 2: better now than you were?
- 23:50Speaker 1: Yeah, some stuff's better. But I think, what do I,
- 23:52Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, I don't know. You know what I
- 23:56Speaker 1: liked about, I think, I just didn't trust the fucking world, right?
- 24:00Speaker 1: There's just something about the world I didn't trust. I
- 24:02Speaker 1: didn't trust it out of the gate.
- 24:03Speaker 2: You trust me?
- 24:04Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 24:06Speaker 2: We'll see.
- 24:10Speaker 1: I didn't trust the world out of the gate. But
- 24:13Speaker 1: there was something about a joke, right? that you couldn't,
- 24:18Speaker 1: if I got you to laugh, if you laughed.
- 24:21Speaker 2: It was like. Yeah, I think we should take our
- 24:23Speaker 2: hats off. Okay, I'd love to. Okay.
- 24:25Speaker 1: I think it's a great idea.
- 24:26Speaker 2: Do you have glasses? Yeah, I do have some. Yeah,
- 24:28Speaker 2: let's put some glasses on. I think that, don't you
- 24:30Speaker 2: think it makes sense? Will you bring my glasses? Yeah,
- 24:33Speaker 2: just because we're trying to do. They're in the front
- 24:35Speaker 2: of my book bag. They're lenses-less. Yeah, we're trying to
- 24:38Speaker 2: do a theme thing here. Okay. Like the blue sheet,
- 24:41Speaker 2: you know, like what is it? Oh, like Blue Bonnet
- 24:43Speaker 2: or whatever? No, like Blues Brothers. Blues Brothers. That makes sense, right? Yeah, yeah.
- 24:48Speaker 2: That's cool. Okay, so go on back into the laugh.
- 24:50Speaker 2: There's the Blues Brothers.
- 24:51Speaker 1: But there's something about laughter, man. It was like magic.
- 24:56Speaker 1: It was like, how do I do magic from over here?
- 24:59Speaker 1: Like make you feel a certain way, but I don't
- 25:01Speaker 1: need to go over there. It's like, what do you do?
- 25:04Speaker 1: And laughter was that. If you could get somebody, you'd
- 25:07Speaker 1: say something, and they went from whatever their state was,
- 25:10Speaker 1: and they laughed.
- 25:11Speaker 2: I was like, oh, that's real.
- 25:12Speaker 1: That's authentic.
- 25:14Speaker 2: It's authentic. I can rely.
- 25:15Speaker 1: They couldn't have faked that.
- 25:17Speaker 2: You can tell if they do. Yeah, exactly. So you're
- 25:20Speaker 2: from the Bayou though, right? So it was something like that. Oh,
- 25:23Speaker 2: this is good, dude. This is like a theme thing. Oh, wow. Oh, wow.
- 25:30Speaker 2: So you don't have shades on there? Yeah, the shades,
- 25:32Speaker 2: we can edit them in.
- 25:33Speaker 1: They're clear.
- 25:34Speaker 2: Oh, you edit them in? Oh, that's sick. So this is...
- 25:39Speaker 2: Jackie Onassis. Take your old records off the shelves. Okay, so,
- 25:46Speaker 2: all right.
- 25:47Speaker 1: So that was something that was fascinating to me. Dude,
- 25:49Speaker 1: I want to know this. Who came by the store, right?
- 25:52Speaker 1: Who came by the store, Paulie, over the years? Like,
- 25:55Speaker 1: I mean, what about when Jim Carrey came? Were you
- 25:56Speaker 1: guys just like, what? Like, who came and it was
- 25:59Speaker 1: just something so novel, right?
- 26:01Speaker 2: Did you ever see a popcorn machine put popcorn out?
- 26:08Speaker 2: You know, where pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop. That
- 26:10Speaker 2: was like the store back in the, you know, in
- 26:12Speaker 2: the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Yeah. It felt like that.
- 26:16Speaker 2: You know, my mom was the center. She was the
- 26:18Speaker 2: central colonel. Yeah. You know what I mean? So, yeah. So, boom.
- 26:21Speaker 2: You got Jim Carrey.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Boom.
- 26:23Speaker 2: You got Dice. Boom. You got fucking, you know, Arsenio.
- 26:27Speaker 3: Boom.
- 26:27Speaker 2: You got Roseanne. Boom. You got. You know, Eddie Murphy, boom.
- 26:31Speaker 2: You got Richard, boom. You got Robin, boom. It was
- 26:34Speaker 2: just like boom, boom. But everyone was doing drugs and
- 26:36Speaker 2: everyone was drinking. And it was just like normal. Yeah.
- 26:39Speaker 2: You know, and Sam Kennison was the man. It was
- 26:42Speaker 2: part of society. It was very common. That's why when
- 26:45Speaker 2: Tommy Lee was here, you know, he was here, I guess,
- 26:48Speaker 2: earlier or whatever. He was part of that whole thing
- 26:50Speaker 2: because him and Sam Kennison were very close. They were? Yeah,
- 26:54Speaker 2: very close. Fuck, wish I had known it. And then
- 26:56Speaker 2: also Vince Neil, who I talked to about a month ago,
- 26:59Speaker 2: He lives in Nashville. Yeah. Do you know that?
- 27:01Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 27:01Speaker 2: Because you live in Nashville too. I see him sometimes. Yeah.
- 27:03Speaker 2: And he says he's got a huge, he's the only
- 27:06Speaker 2: one that's still not sober. Like everyone else is sober. Yeah.
- 27:09Speaker 2: And Vince is like, no, fuck that. I'm like, cool.
- 27:11Speaker 2: I'm hanging out with you.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Yeah, dude.
- 27:14Speaker 2: Vince is fucking wild, bro. Yeah, there you go.
- 27:16Speaker 1: Oh, that's so cool. What about the story with Kennison
- 27:19Speaker 1: and LeBove? Did you know about all that?
- 27:21Speaker 2: Oh, very much so. Yeah, that's a wild story.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Take me through some of that story.
- 27:27Speaker 2: Okay, so basically there was a comedian for you young
- 27:30Speaker 2: TikTokers out there that are obsessed with my friend Theo Vaughn.
- 27:34Speaker 2: Just so you know, Vaughn is a French articulation that
- 27:39Speaker 2: comes from the south of France in an island called Brindisi.
- 27:42Speaker 2: So just look that up. That's where his last name is,
- 27:46Speaker 2: Theo Vaughn.
- 27:46Speaker 3: Vaughn.
- 27:47Speaker 1: Yeah, and my family originally is from Mogadishu, actually.
- 27:51Speaker 2: Yes, Mogadishu, which is in the Swiss Alps.
- 27:53Speaker 4: Yep.
- 27:54Speaker 2: Swiss Alps. High as you can go up there. Yeah,
- 27:56Speaker 2: so it's just up, up, up, up, up. That's where
- 27:58Speaker 2: his mom popped you out. Come on up. That's what
- 28:00Speaker 2: mom would say. Yep, come on up. It'd take a month.
- 28:03Speaker 1: Yep.
- 28:04Speaker 2: So just to do the quick version, there's a comedian
- 28:07Speaker 2: named Sam Kennison. He was on fire. His best friend
- 28:11Speaker 2: was named Carl LeBeau. Think about Amir Kay, you know?
- 28:15Speaker 2: And you guys are doing drugs and getting fucked up
- 28:18Speaker 2: and blah, blah, blah. And... Amir K is married, and
- 28:26Speaker 2: Amir K has a wife, and you fuck his wife,
- 28:31Speaker 2: and then you get her pregnant, and then you die,
- 28:34Speaker 2: and then Amir K has your baby, and then Amir
- 28:40Speaker 2: K winds up having to pay for your baby.
- 28:43Speaker 1: And he thinks it's his baby his whole life. No,
- 28:46Speaker 1: because it looks like fucking you. But, They never got
- 28:50Speaker 1: a blood test, I don't think, until later, right?
- 28:52Speaker 2: Until kind of later, yeah.
- 28:54Speaker 1: So for 16 years, I think.
- 28:56Speaker 2: 18 years. Carl was paying for the baby. Carl was
- 28:59Speaker 2: supporting the child and thinking it was his daughter. Yeah.
- 29:02Speaker 2: But it was fucked up. And I still haven't met
- 29:05Speaker 2: the kid.
- 29:06Speaker 3: Wow.
- 29:07Speaker 2: And I really want to meet the kid. That'd be
- 29:10Speaker 2: pretty fascinating. We should get her on this fucking show.
- 29:13Speaker 2: I wish we could Zoom right now with her. How
- 29:15Speaker 2: sick would that be? Sam Kenison's... She's like, what?
- 29:22Speaker 1: Oh, you know, being an adult has its high points.
- 29:25Speaker 1: I'll say that you can eat ice cream for dinner.
- 29:28Speaker 1: You can sit in your car and have your dang
- 29:30Speaker 1: waffle in there if you want. Eat it with your hands. God,
- 29:33Speaker 1: that's nice. But it's not all fun. You also have
- 29:37Speaker 1: to do your taxes and figure out what's for dinner.
- 29:41Speaker 1: and you have to make doctor's appointments. But for that,
- 29:44Speaker 1: there's ZocDoc, the healthcare app that makes adulting that much easier.
- 29:51Speaker 2: That's right.
- 29:52Speaker 1: ZocDoc is a free app and website where you can

- 30:32Speaker 2: It's confusing.

- 30:53Speaker 1: slash T-H-E-O. ZocDoc.com slash Theo. Is pornography causing a problem
- 31:01Speaker 1: in your life? That's a good question. It's a real question.
- 31:05Speaker 1: It has in mind. It has at certain periods in
- 31:08Speaker 1: my life. Watching porno and everything and watching porno was
- 31:14Speaker 1: making me. It was ruining my life. It was ruining
- 31:17Speaker 1: my life, man. Made me feel just so much shame.
- 31:19Speaker 1: That's what it did. Well, watching pornography has become commonplace today.
- 31:25Speaker 1: And oftentimes, men will use porno to numb the pain
- 31:28Speaker 1: of loneliness, boredom, anxiety, and depression. That's why I want
- 31:34Speaker 1: to introduce you to my friend, Stephen Walt. Steve is
- 31:38Speaker 1: the founder of Valor Recovery. He is a dear friend
- 31:40Speaker 1: of mine. He is a dear friend of mine. And
- 31:45Speaker 1: Valor Recovery is a program to help men overcome porn
- 31:48Speaker 1: abuse and sexual compulsivity. That's right. Their coaches are in
- 31:53Speaker 1: long-term recovery. And they will be your partner, mentor, and
- 31:56Speaker 1: spiritual guide to transcend problematic behaviors. There is zero commitment
- 32:02Speaker 1: if you reach out to them. It's just the first
- 32:04Speaker 1: step in trying to figure out if you may need
- 32:08Speaker 1: some help, if you can get some help. To learn
- 32:11Speaker 1: more about Valor Recovery, please visit them at valorrecoverycoaching.com or
- 32:18Speaker 1: email them at admin at valorrecoverycoaching.com. The links will be
- 32:25Speaker 1: on the YouTube. And again, there's no commitment when you
- 32:29Speaker 1: reach out to them. But I promise you, only something
- 32:34Speaker 1: positive will come from you reaching out and figuring out
- 32:39Speaker 1: what type of help, if any, could benefit you.
- 32:44Speaker 2: Thank you. But yeah, so... That was wild. And Carl
- 32:48Speaker 2: got a fucking... Carl got the... He had a tough one.
- 32:53Speaker 2: He had a tough run. I got to put my
- 32:55Speaker 2: glasses back on. Thanks. Yeah, but Carl had a tough run,
- 32:58Speaker 2: and he was genius. He was great. Carl was great.
- 33:00Speaker 1: I would see him down in Texas, down at Randy
- 33:02Speaker 1: Butler's clubs down there, and I would see him perform
- 33:05Speaker 1: down there sometimes and cross paths with him. Nice guy.
- 33:08Speaker 2: Yeah. People loved him. Yeah, he was special. There was
- 33:12Speaker 2: another guy named Mitchell Walters who also died. You know
- 33:15Speaker 2: Carl died, right? Yeah. Yeah, and Mitchell Walters died too.
- 33:19Speaker 2: He was fucking hilarious. Yes. He had the fucking funniest
- 33:22Speaker 2: 12 minutes of material. Really? Bring him up. This guy
- 33:24Speaker 2: was fucking hilarious. Wow. We did shows in Vegas. This
- 33:29Speaker 2: was in the late 80s. And we were at the
- 33:34Speaker 2: Dunes Hotel, and it was Sam Kennison and the Outlaws
- 33:37Speaker 2: of Comedy. Mitchell, what was his name? Mitchell Walters. Yeah,
- 33:41Speaker 2: this guy. Oh, wow. Beautiful, huh? He was fucking hilarious.
- 33:44Speaker 1: Trans or no?
- 33:45Speaker 2: No, he wasn't trans.
- 33:47Speaker 3: Indian, huh?
- 33:48Speaker 2: No, I don't know what he was, but he was
- 33:50Speaker 2: fucking hilarious. See, there's a picture with him and Sam
- 33:53Speaker 2: and Billy Idol on the left. Up there, yeah, there
- 33:55Speaker 2: you go. Oh, wow. So before one of the shows
- 34:00Speaker 2: at the Dunes, this was the late 80s, this is
- 34:02Speaker 2: when Sam Kennison was getting sued by United Artists for
- 34:06Speaker 2: not showing up on his movie set, a took. So
- 34:10Speaker 2: Mitchell Walters comes up to me before the show, and
- 34:14Speaker 2: I said, Mitchell, we're going to hang out after the show, right?
- 34:16Speaker 2: And he goes, yeah, absolutely. Me and you, we're going
- 34:18Speaker 2: to party, package, package, party. And then the show started,
- 34:22Speaker 2: and then the show finished, and I went to go
- 34:24Speaker 2: hang out with him. And I'm like, yo, let's fucking
- 34:26Speaker 2: hang out. He's like, get the fuck away from me,
- 34:28Speaker 2: golden boy. Go hang out with your fucking mother. I
- 34:30Speaker 2: don't have time for this shit. Because in between the show,
- 34:34Speaker 2: he went out and did coke, and he fucking gambled,
- 34:36Speaker 2: and he lost everything. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Damn. Yeah. That
- 34:40Speaker 2: one show lost it all. Yeah, he lost a lot.
- 34:42Speaker 2: And how did he pass away? I think he had
- 34:45Speaker 2: some type of internal, like, you know, I don't want
- 34:49Speaker 2: to say it was cancer or something like that, but
- 34:51Speaker 2: he wasn't too healthy. Damn, bro. Yeah. But he was
- 34:55Speaker 2: a really funny cat as well, though, you know?
- 34:58Speaker 1: It's kind of a dangerous, it's a dice roll doing
- 35:01Speaker 1: comedy because you're really, you're at a, because comedy club
- 35:04Speaker 1: is just a bar attached to a stage.
- 35:06Speaker 2: That's all it is.
- 35:06Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 35:07Speaker 2: It's a bar, so it's like. You have access to everything.
- 35:09Speaker 1: Yeah, and you have access to everything, and you perform
- 35:11Speaker 1: at night, so you're at work at night. People have
- 35:14Speaker 1: just gotten out of a crowd. They're on a high.
- 35:16Speaker 2: You're on a high.
- 35:17Speaker 1: It's like, yeah, it's like you're just, there's so much
- 35:20Speaker 1: temptation that's right there, so much possibility to get in trouble.
- 35:24Speaker 2: So how's it going for you now? How are you
- 35:26Speaker 2: feeling these days? I feel okay.
- 35:29Speaker 1: I think I feel like a lot of responsibility sometimes,
- 35:31Speaker 1: you know, so that's, it's not as much fun sometimes,
- 35:34Speaker 1: I guess, because you feel like you have more responsibility,
- 35:36Speaker 1: but Um, but then sometimes I got to remember, Hey man,
- 35:40Speaker 1: just take it easy. Just do your best, be yourself,
- 35:43Speaker 1: try your best. Uh, and just try to be honest about,
- 35:46Speaker 1: you know, whenever you can about what's going on, you know? Um,
- 35:50Speaker 1: so some of that's been pretty interesting. I think just
- 35:53Speaker 1: that the boom we're having in comedy has been really,
- 35:56Speaker 1: that's been a real blessing because I think the news
- 35:59Speaker 1: kind of shot itself in the dick over the past
- 36:02Speaker 1: five years or something kind of like, Nobody knows what's
- 36:05Speaker 1: news or what's real anymore. So everything's such a joke anyway,
- 36:09Speaker 1: that I think people are like, well, at least I
- 36:11Speaker 1: know these are jokes.
- 36:12Speaker 2: Yeah. And then what do you think about like doing
- 36:15Speaker 2: something on stage or doing something or this or whatever?
- 36:19Speaker 2: And then people comment on this as opposed to the
- 36:21Speaker 2: old days where you just do a TV show and
- 36:23Speaker 2: no one would comment. Right. Except for they would just
- 36:25Speaker 2: come up to you at like a, you know, a
- 36:27Speaker 2: diner and say, oh, I saw you on married with
- 36:29Speaker 2: children or some shit.
- 36:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:30Speaker 2: But like, this is instant. Do you read the comments?
- 36:33Speaker 1: Sometimes I'll look at some of them. Sometimes the producers
- 36:36Speaker 1: will send me some to watch.
- 36:38Speaker 2: It's good luck.
- 36:38Speaker 1: It's like, do you want to open a box that
- 36:41Speaker 1: something can hurt your feelings?
- 36:42Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 36:44Speaker 1: I think that's kind of some of the dangerous part. Now,
- 36:46Speaker 1: if it's something super funny, a lot of times they'll
- 36:47Speaker 1: make sure that I see it. Sometimes if somebody makes funny,
- 36:50Speaker 1: really good.
- 36:51Speaker 2: What do you think about what happened to Jack Black
- 36:53Speaker 2: and his partner recently? His partner, you know? Well, no,
- 36:57Speaker 2: because he said- He's a homosexual. The what? He's homosexual? No,
- 37:00Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 37:01Speaker 1: No, no, no.
- 37:01Speaker 2: What happened was I think they said something about Donald Trump.
- 37:04Speaker 1: Oh, I didn't even see it. Oh, with Tristan D
- 37:06Speaker 1: or whatever the guy's name is? Snake D or whatever?
- 37:08Speaker 2: No, his partner said something.
- 37:10Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. He said, I wish I wouldn't have missed him. Yeah,
- 37:13Speaker 1: I think that's fucking kind of classless, I think.
- 37:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:16Speaker 1: I wouldn't say that about a president.
- 37:17Speaker 2: No, no. Did you? But isn't it wild that like
- 37:21Speaker 2: you can ad-lib something like that and then it's a
- 37:24Speaker 2: wrap for a while?
- 37:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 37:25Speaker 2: It's crazy, right? And yes, it was terrible. You know,
- 37:29Speaker 2: that he said that, and you don't say that, and
- 37:31Speaker 2: you don't even joke about that.
- 37:33Speaker 1: But, I mean, but also it's like that's how he feels.
- 37:39Speaker 1: I just think it's kind of a– and it just– like, yeah,
- 37:43Speaker 1: it's just kind of– people don't want that.
- 37:45Speaker 2: People are confused. So what do you think about Kamala
- 37:47Speaker 2: these days? This is pretty– Are you kidding? It's going
- 37:51Speaker 2: to be– no, but the whole thing– Kamala's not even–
- 37:53Speaker 2: I know, but the whole thing is going to be
- 37:55Speaker 2: like a great– it's going to be political theater.
- 37:57Speaker 1: I think– oh, it is. I mean, it's going to
- 37:59Speaker 1: be like– It's all it is now.
- 38:00Speaker 2: Yes.
- 38:01Speaker 1: I think politics is just– Political theater. It's a shell
- 38:05Speaker 1: company for the big business. It's a fucking– it's like
- 38:11Speaker 1: a puppet. It's a puppet theater. It seems like to me. Well,
- 38:15Speaker 1: I think– I don't know if Kamala doesn't have it
- 38:18Speaker 1: to win. I don't think that. I don't think anyone
- 38:20Speaker 1: is going to beat Trump– to be honest. I like,
- 38:23Speaker 1: I think Bobby Kennedy, I feel like has a lot
- 38:25Speaker 1: of great points to talk about and stuff. I think
- 38:27Speaker 1: he's very fascinating. I think he, you know, you believe
- 38:31Speaker 1: that he wants to get in there and do something different.
- 38:35Speaker 2: Why is it so many people don't want to run
- 38:36Speaker 2: for president? Like The Rock, for instance, people have talked
- 38:39Speaker 2: about The Rock. Like he's gorgeous. He's big. He's handsome.
- 38:44Speaker 2: He's a huge, huge star. Like, you know, like I
- 38:47Speaker 2: think Trump fans and then also the liberal community liberal
- 38:50Speaker 2: audience would fucking go, oh my God, that's fucking The Rock.
- 38:53Speaker 1: That's our guy.
- 38:53Speaker 2: Yeah, because obviously, would you ever run for anything like that?
- 38:58Speaker 2: Think about it for a second. Not right now, but
- 39:01Speaker 2: I'm like, you're 44, you said? I'm 44. 44, so
- 39:05Speaker 2: look about when you're 54.
- 39:06Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 39:06Speaker 2: You know what I mean? After you kind of wanted
- 39:08Speaker 2: to chill, would you ever get into politics?
- 39:11Speaker 1: Maybe I would run for a VP or something if
- 39:13Speaker 1: they let you.
- 39:14Speaker 2: So you'd be a vice president? Be cool.
- 39:16Speaker 1: Vice president, you just get to stand in the back
- 39:17Speaker 1: and be like this. Right?
- 39:19Speaker 2: Yeah. That'd be cool.
- 39:21Speaker 1: Vice president, you just get to fucking chill, bro.
- 39:24Speaker 2: Have you ever been to the White House?
- 39:25Speaker 1: You just get to fucking be like, what does the
- 39:28Speaker 1: vice president say? You just get to say some crazy shit, bro.
- 39:30Speaker 1: And you know what I'm saying? You get to say, hey, China,
- 39:33Speaker 1: we bout this shit, bro. And then it just goes viral,
- 39:36Speaker 1: and then you're fucking having a blast, dude. And you
- 39:38Speaker 1: can party with chicks or whatever. Your wife can be
- 39:41Speaker 1: fucking cool. Your kids can be on the front lawn
- 39:44Speaker 1: fucking juggling or fucking smoking behind the statues or whatever.
- 39:48Speaker 1: I think it would be, that part would be pretty fun.
- 39:50Speaker 1: And there's no pressure. Everybody knows the vice president's a,
- 39:53Speaker 1: who gives a fuck anyway, dude. It's like, don't let
- 39:56Speaker 1: anybody be the vice president.
- 39:58Speaker 2: Yeah. But now she's, she, cause Joe Biden timbered. Yeah. Timbered.
- 40:03Speaker 2: You know what I mean? And that pissed me off.
- 40:04Speaker 1: Joe should have fucking hung in there.
- 40:05Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. Until he fell really hard. You know what
- 40:09Speaker 2: they should have done? Here's what they should have done
- 40:10Speaker 2: with him because he didn't want to bail. You know
- 40:13Speaker 2: what I mean? He didn't want to bail.
- 40:14Speaker 1: No, they told him so long he was the president,
- 40:16Speaker 1: he finally, when they said, no, no, you're not the president,
- 40:17Speaker 1: he's like, I am the president.
- 40:19Speaker 2: He believed it. No, what they should have done is
- 40:22Speaker 2: they should have told him that, Mr. President, there's mold
- 40:27Speaker 2: in the White House. We need to move you to
- 40:28Speaker 2: a hotel. Move him to a hotel for three, four days.
- 40:31Speaker 2: Then take all his pictures and all the different things
- 40:34Speaker 2: that are in the White House and put them in
- 40:35Speaker 2: another White House and then move him back into that
- 40:38Speaker 2: and say, this is your place. He won't know that
- 40:41Speaker 2: it's not his place. And then just say, you're the president,
- 40:43Speaker 2: but he just like, Plug in other TVs and shit.
- 40:45Speaker 2: He's like, don't I have anything to do today? Like, no,
- 40:47Speaker 2: you're good.
- 40:48Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 40:48Speaker 1: They're like, no, your dog just bit somebody. Now eat
- 40:50Speaker 1: some ice cream.
- 40:51Speaker 2: But I felt bad because he was, you know. He
- 40:53Speaker 2: was being puppeted, it felt like. Yeah, but he was also,
- 40:56Speaker 2: I've been around, like, my mom, for instance. My mom
- 40:59Speaker 2: wasn't well, you know, towards, you know, the last good
- 41:02Speaker 2: 10 years. She was, you know. Have some dementia. Yes.
- 41:06Speaker 2: She had that whole thing. So I was, that was
- 41:08Speaker 2: affecting me watching Joe, reminding me of my mom. and
- 41:11Speaker 2: your grandparents or people's watching grandparents, it's not fucking funny.
- 41:15Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Yeah, I mean, my father
- 41:18Speaker 1: was 70 when I was born, so he was an
- 41:20Speaker 1: old man.
- 41:20Speaker 2: Oh, shit.
- 41:21Speaker 1: So I can totally relate to the sense of like,
- 41:23Speaker 1: it felt like somebody was being taken advantage of a
- 41:25Speaker 1: little bit. And that really, I don't care what side
- 41:27Speaker 1: of things you're on, but that to me just felt,
- 41:30Speaker 1: it must look cringe to people in the world if
- 41:32Speaker 1: that's how we're willing to do with our senior citizens.
- 41:35Speaker 2: And then also like every time he walked off a plane,
- 41:38Speaker 2: wasn't cool, like it felt like he was gonna fall.
- 41:40Speaker 2: And it wasn't cool. And it's like, you know, I
- 41:42Speaker 2: didn't wanna see that. You know what I mean? I
- 41:44Speaker 2: didn't wanna see, I'm glad that nothing bad happened. That's
- 41:47Speaker 2: a good point, huh?
- 41:48Speaker 1: All those little stages they put him on, the scariest
- 41:50Speaker 1: thing to put, the scariest thing for a senior citizen
- 41:52Speaker 1: next to more than one Ottoman in a room is
- 41:57Speaker 1: a little stage, dude, because there's nowhere really to go
- 42:00Speaker 1: except for down.
- 42:01Speaker 2: Yeah, just stairs.
- 42:03Speaker 1: Yeah, one stair, two stairs. Yeah. Yeah, so that shit
- 42:06Speaker 1: was bunk. Dude, what do you think? And it looks
- 42:09Speaker 1: like almost they tried to kill Trump.
- 42:11Speaker 2: Someone did. It didn't work.
- 42:13Speaker 1: And so then Biden, they're like, well, if that doesn't work,
- 42:15Speaker 1: then Biden has to step down because he has to
- 42:17Speaker 1: put somebody that can try to win. I don't know
- 42:19Speaker 1: if that's true, but it looks a little bit like that.
- 42:22Speaker 1: What do you think happened? What do you think?
- 42:25Speaker 2: I think he was a sicko, that little kid. Oh,
- 42:28Speaker 2: you think it was just the kid acting alone? Yeah,
- 42:29Speaker 2: it was a sicko, yeah. I think so. I think
- 42:31Speaker 2: it was just a sicko. You know, it's like, A
- 42:35Speaker 2: lot of these school shooters are, you know what I mean?
- 42:38Speaker 2: They're not all up there. I mean, who's going to
- 42:40Speaker 2: take a gun and go shoot up a school? It's
- 42:42Speaker 2: just disgusting.
- 42:43Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 42:43Speaker 2: So it's like, you know, for someone to do that,
- 42:45Speaker 2: it's just repulsive.
- 42:46Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 42:46Speaker 2: You know, and I don't know. I mean, no comment.
- 42:50Speaker 2: It's just sad. You know, the kids are fucked up. Oh,
- 42:52Speaker 2: it's heartbreaking.
- 42:53Speaker 1: And then the kid is dead now, you know, and
- 42:56Speaker 1: you wonder, like, did somebody get to this kid and
- 42:59Speaker 1: inspire him to do that? The thing about having another shooter,
- 43:03Speaker 1: because some people think there's another shooter. But you would
- 43:06Speaker 1: have had to have had, then somebody had to have
- 43:10Speaker 1: hired the kid. They have to know the kid's gonna
- 43:12Speaker 1: do it.
- 43:13Speaker 2: Yeah, and I don't think that happened. I think he's
- 43:16Speaker 2: just a wacko that knew Trump was, you know what
- 43:18Speaker 2: I mean? Gonna be speaking.
- 43:20Speaker 1: But then it's unbelievable that the Secret Service wasn't able to, like,
- 43:24Speaker 1: if people are- Because they.
- 43:25Speaker 2: Were checking their Instagram. Yeah, probably. Absolutely. You know, they're
- 43:29Speaker 2: just self-involved with their own bullshit, and they weren't focused
- 43:33Speaker 2: on the whole thing. Either way, you know, I like,
- 43:35Speaker 2: you know, at night, you know, I was fucking with
- 43:37Speaker 2: you the other night when we were texting each other.
- 43:39Speaker 2: I said, I got to go. I'm going to sleep.
- 43:40Speaker 2: I'm watching Fox News. You know what I mean? I just,
- 43:44Speaker 2: you know, I started watching Fox News with my mom.
- 43:48Speaker 2: She loved it. Really? Yeah, she loved it. She would
- 43:51Speaker 2: just watch Bill. Look at Bill O'Reilly. And then she'd
- 43:54Speaker 2: see the Fox News anchors. What the fuck is her
- 43:56Speaker 2: horse teeth? She's got fucking horse teeth, Pauly. You know,
- 43:59Speaker 2: with all the Fox News anchor girls, she'd always get angry.
- 44:02Speaker 2: What the fuck is she looking at? You know what
- 44:07Speaker 2: I mean? She looks like a horse face. She would
- 44:10Speaker 2: say that. It was fucking hilarious. So I would watch...
- 44:13Speaker 2: I would always watch... You know, the news with her. Oh,
- 44:17Speaker 2: that's nice. We'd watch CNN. We'd watch Fox.
- 44:18Speaker 1: Any other shows y'all would watch together? Game shows or anything?
- 44:22Speaker 2: Tommy would bring over comedians sometimes. Tommy, the old talent guy. Yeah,
- 44:26Speaker 2: he'd bring over comedians. What do you think of him?
- 44:28Speaker 2: You know, shit like that.
- 44:30Speaker 1: I miss Tommy kind of. Yeah. What do you mean
- 44:33Speaker 1: kind of? I miss him.
- 44:34Speaker 2: Yeah. He was fun. He was a great guy.
- 44:36Speaker 1: He was there when I got there.
- 44:37Speaker 2: He was such a character.
- 44:39Speaker 1: You know how he kind of like.
- 44:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 44:41Speaker 1: You know?
- 44:42Speaker 2: Well, he was funny because he said he stayed- You're
- 44:44Speaker 2: doing it, man. You're doing it. Yeah, him and his girl, Steph,
- 44:47Speaker 2: they stayed at the Hyatt. And he says, well, it
- 44:50Speaker 2: seems like the comedy store's calling me. It's right down there.
- 44:54Speaker 2: They want me. They want me to run the comedy store.
- 44:58Speaker 2: Don't you understand? Well, that's how it is. That's how
- 45:03Speaker 2: your mother wanted it, Pauly. Listen to your mother. She's
- 45:06Speaker 2: the You know what I mean?
- 45:09Speaker 1: It's pretty cool. What do you think of his relationship
- 45:12Speaker 1: with your mom? What do you think it was like?
- 45:13Speaker 2: It was good.
- 45:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 45:14Speaker 2: It was good. I mean, he used to do shit
- 45:16Speaker 2: with my mom that you're not supposed to do for
- 45:18Speaker 2: someone that you're working. He used to carry her up
- 45:20Speaker 2: the stairs. I mean, she would literally call him up.
- 45:22Speaker 2: Help me up. I can't get up. You know? And
- 45:25Speaker 2: it was, you know, she would be working the cover booth.
- 45:27Speaker 2: And then Steve Renazzisi would have to come in. And
- 45:29Speaker 2: that's when he stole the money. But that was another conversation.
- 45:33Speaker 2: That was supposed to be funny. Anyways, all right.
- 45:34Speaker 1: No, I think it's, yeah, it's like, well, yeah, because
- 45:36Speaker 1: I never knew exactly what happened.
- 45:37Speaker 2: I just knew that. Yeah, so what happened was is
- 45:39Speaker 2: my mom didn't trust a lot of people.
- 45:41Speaker 4: Right.
- 45:42Speaker 2: You know, and my mom loved Tommy, you know, because,
- 45:46Speaker 2: you know, she just, you know, she took to certain people.
- 45:50Speaker 2: You know, my mom took to certain people, and she
- 45:52Speaker 2: really liked him, and she trusted him. So when she
- 45:55Speaker 2: couldn't get up the stairs, you know, because she would
- 45:58Speaker 2: try to get up the stairs. you know, she would
- 46:00Speaker 2: call the store and she'd say, can you help me
- 46:02Speaker 2: up the stairs? And then he would be like, Mitzi,
- 46:05Speaker 2: I can't. You know what I mean? I'm, I'm, you know,
- 46:07Speaker 2: I'm here in the cover booth. There's people, I need
- 46:09Speaker 2: help up the fucking stairs. Let's go. And then, and
- 46:13Speaker 2: then that's when, you know, Tommy would get rid of
- 46:15Speaker 2: ZZ or someone or someone to sit in Benji or whoever,
- 46:18Speaker 2: and they'd sit in and then he, she would go
- 46:20Speaker 2: and I would be there and I would like, you know, help. Yeah.
- 46:23Speaker 2: Help bring her up the stairs. And then, you know,
- 46:25Speaker 2: he would sit with her for a long time and
- 46:28Speaker 2: watch the TV and sometimes not even go back to work.
- 46:31Speaker 2: So he did stuff that you weren't supposed to do
- 46:34Speaker 2: as an employee, but that's what my mom was. That's
- 46:36Speaker 2: what the store was. The store was always about, you know,
- 46:39Speaker 2: helping people. And if you stole, you stole that's on you,
- 46:42Speaker 2: you know? Yeah. You know, so.
- 46:44Speaker 1: And was that ever proven that he did it?
- 46:46Speaker 2: I don't, I don't know. I wasn't involved. Yeah. I wasn't.
- 46:48Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 46:48Speaker 1: I just heard things and you're like, well, what even happened?
- 46:50Speaker 1: You know?
- 46:51Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 46:51Speaker 1: And you never got to really hear his side of it.
- 46:53Speaker 1: I feel like either, you know, but, um, But yeah,
- 46:58Speaker 1: you know. So recently Richard Simmons passed away.
- 47:02Speaker 2: Yes.
- 47:03Speaker 1: Were you guys ever, and I know you were trying
- 47:06Speaker 1: to do, you did a great video kind of auditioning
- 47:11Speaker 1: to play him.
- 47:12Speaker 2: Yes.
- 47:14Speaker 1: And did you guys ever come to a real conclusion?
- 47:17Speaker 1: Did you ever get to actually talk with him about it?
- 47:21Speaker 2: I never. I reached out to him. I've known him
- 47:25Speaker 2: since I was little. I sent him flowers on Valentine's Day.
- 47:29Speaker 2: This is a short film. Oh, this short film is
- 47:33Speaker 2: called Court Jester.
- 47:37Speaker 3: And I.
- 47:40Speaker 2: Love him, and I love his story, and I want
- 47:44Speaker 2: to do his biopic. So we did this short film,
- 47:50Speaker 2: and it did really well for me. You know, we
- 47:52Speaker 2: were at Park City with it and, you know, and
- 47:55Speaker 2: people just loved it.
- 47:56Speaker 1: Play something right there. Oh, by halfway into this, I
- 47:59Speaker 1: believe that it's him.
- 48:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 48:16Speaker 1: It really seems like him, Paul.
- 48:21Speaker 2: That's great. Yeah.
- 48:22Speaker 1: So, um, and he was from Louisiana actually.
- 48:25Speaker 2: Yes, he was. Him and his brother Lenny. Yeah.
- 48:28Speaker 1: And so now since he's passed, is there a, would
- 48:33Speaker 1: you still try to do it? Like, I don't know
- 48:35Speaker 1: if that's against the grain or whatever, or is that just,
- 48:38Speaker 1: can his estate hire you to do it?
- 48:40Speaker 2: Well, here's, here's the deal in, in reality. First of all,
- 48:44Speaker 2: I'm just an actor.
- 48:45Speaker 3: Okay.
- 48:45Speaker 2: I'm not a lawyer, you know, but from what I,
- 48:49Speaker 2: from what I've learned from being in this process that
- 48:53Speaker 2: if you're a public figure, it's called an unauthorized biopic. So,
- 48:57Speaker 2: for instance, they happen every day. So, I mean, the
- 49:01Speaker 2: Pam and Tommy Hulu special or Hulu series was unauthorized. Oh, wow.
- 49:07Speaker 2: So people can just make it. They do stuff all
- 49:10Speaker 2: the time that way. So as long as you don't
- 49:14Speaker 2: do something mean, you know, as long as I do
- 49:17Speaker 2: it nice, like this piece is nice. Right, you're not
- 49:19Speaker 2: defending it. him. Yeah, you're not defaming him, then I'll
- 49:22Speaker 2: be fine. So I'm in bed with a producer named
- 49:25Speaker 2: Mark Walper, W-O-L-P-E-R, not Wahlberg. And he's been in the
- 49:29Speaker 2: game for about 50 years, him and his family. They
- 49:32Speaker 2: have a deal at Warner Brothers and I have a
- 49:34Speaker 2: great writer named Jordan Allen Dutton who's writing the script.
- 49:37Speaker 2: So I'm moving forward with it. But my instinct is
- 49:41Speaker 2: like your instinct is get his estate to kind of
- 49:43Speaker 2: be involved, give them some money, but we'll see. I'm
- 49:47Speaker 2: kind of at the place where I just want to
- 49:50Speaker 2: make the movie and I just want to kind of
- 49:52Speaker 2: do good by him and not defame him. And that's
- 49:56Speaker 2: kind of my come from from the beginning. And it
- 49:58Speaker 2: was never about making fun of anything else. Richard saved lives.
- 50:03Speaker 2: He saved lives and he helped people. And that's kind
- 50:07Speaker 2: of where my come from is. And at the end
- 50:09Speaker 2: of the day, yeah, I'm a comic, but I'm a
- 50:11Speaker 2: fucking actor. You know what I mean? I've starred in
- 50:14Speaker 2: a lot of movies, and that's my main thing, and
- 50:16Speaker 2: that's why I still sell tickets. I don't sell tickets
- 50:19Speaker 2: because of my Netflix special, or I sell tickets because
- 50:23Speaker 2: of this, because I've touched people with my films. And
- 50:26Speaker 2: so this lines up. It's kind of like God gave
- 50:30Speaker 2: me a softball. I mean, this is a really great
- 50:33Speaker 2: opportunity for me, and I'm going to do it, and
- 50:35Speaker 2: it's going to happen, and we're getting the financing together
- 50:37Speaker 2: Right now, that's kind of where we are in the process.
- 50:40Speaker 2: But I got a great producer that I've been in
- 50:42Speaker 2: bed with on this for about six months. And we've
- 50:45Speaker 2: got a great writer. We've got a great story. We've
- 50:47Speaker 2: got a great pitch. And he's writing the script right now. Wow.
- 50:49Speaker 2: So yeah, so it's happening.
- 50:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 50:51Speaker 1: And I think, you know, say if you had passed
- 50:53Speaker 1: away and you knew before you passed away, you were like,
- 50:55Speaker 1: I don't know if I want this guy to make
- 50:56Speaker 1: this thing about me or to be in it. And
- 50:59Speaker 1: who knows if maybe also Richard Simmons was feeling embarrassed
- 51:01Speaker 1: about himself. You know, sometimes it's like, I just want
- 51:04Speaker 1: to go away. If he knew he was sick, there's
- 51:06Speaker 1: just so many little But then if you did pass
- 51:09Speaker 1: away and then somebody made something that was really honoring
- 51:11Speaker 1: you and you got to see it, I wonder how
- 51:13Speaker 1: you would feel. I feel like I would probably feel like, man,
- 51:16Speaker 1: that's pretty cool.
- 51:18Speaker 2: Yeah, well, that's how I feel. You know, I feel
- 51:21Speaker 2: that he would see it just like he probably saw this.
- 51:23Speaker 2: And he touched people's lives, like you said. Yeah, absolutely.
- 51:26Speaker 2: And at the end of the day, you know, publicly
- 51:29Speaker 2: he came out and he says, I'm, I don't. Yeah,
- 51:32Speaker 2: what did he say? Bring it up. He said, he says,
- 51:34Speaker 2: I don't approve of Pauly Shore anymore. playing me in
- 51:37Speaker 2: a biopic and then he says he says I want
- 51:40Speaker 2: Tom Cruise to play me so obviously so I mean
- 51:44Speaker 2: you know that's a funny joke by the way you
- 51:47Speaker 2: know what I mean that's actually you know what I
- 51:50Speaker 2: mean but here's another thing Theo like how do we
- 51:52Speaker 2: know this was even him writing this shit oh totally
- 51:55Speaker 2: dude how do we even know he was writing this
- 51:57Speaker 2: shit this could be some twink that he met at
- 51:58Speaker 2: the airport Or one of his handlers. You don't fucking know.
- 52:01Speaker 1: It was probably a twink that he met at the airport.
- 52:03Speaker 1: Let's be realistic.
- 52:04Speaker 2: It's LA. What does it say? I just read that
- 52:05Speaker 2: a man that I don't know is writing a script
- 52:07Speaker 2: about Bible. I do not approve this movie. I'm in
- 52:10Speaker 2: talks with the majors duty to create my own biopic. Meanwhile,
- 52:13Speaker 2: you know, he passes. Right. So obviously he did.
- 52:17Speaker 1: You got to read your own room of your life.
- 52:19Speaker 1: Like if you're passing away.
- 52:21Speaker 2: You're not writing that type of stuff.
- 52:23Speaker 4: No.
- 52:24Speaker 2: You're fucking worried about trying to live.
- 52:25Speaker 1: Yeah, dude, you're fucking counting T-cells, homie. You're not over
- 52:29Speaker 1: here fucking milling around your typewriter.
- 52:31Speaker 2: So that's another thing I want to get to the bottom.
- 52:33Speaker 2: I want to get to the bottom line because, you know,
- 52:36Speaker 2: I love Richard and I know Richard loves me and
- 52:38Speaker 2: I know Richard loves my mom and I know that
- 52:40Speaker 2: I don't have a fucking bad bone in my body.
- 52:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 52:42Speaker 2: And my come from is all about love and, you know,
- 52:46Speaker 2: and putting it out in a positive, positive way. And
- 52:50Speaker 2: I don't know and I don't believe that he's the
- 52:51Speaker 2: one that wrote all this stuff. and if anything I
- 52:55Speaker 2: got him out meaning like I got him to just
- 53:00Speaker 2: speak because he'd been so recluse for so.
- 53:03Speaker 1: Long yeah people hadn't heard from him in a long
- 53:05Speaker 1: time bring up some of the videos where he helped
- 53:07Speaker 1: women lose some weight I mean he was the first
- 53:12Speaker 1: kind of influencer he was like a professional wrestler that
- 53:17Speaker 1: never wrestled but danced the fat off of the Midwest
- 53:21Speaker 1: and other parts of America.
- 53:23Speaker 2: And he made it fun. Yes. The Ellen stuff is great, yeah.
- 53:28Speaker 1: Yeah, there he is. Look at the party off the
- 53:29Speaker 1: pounds right there. I remember my grandmother had party off
- 53:33Speaker 1: the pounds, dude, and I would sit and watch her
- 53:35Speaker 1: move to this.
- 53:36Speaker 2: Hilarious.
- 53:37Speaker 1: Before she hated me, but still.
- 53:39Speaker 3: Look at him.
- 53:39Speaker 2: Hey, come dance with me.
- 53:43Speaker 4: Come dance with me. Come on. And you, come dance too.
- 53:49Speaker 1: Exhale. That's it. Oh, it's like Teletubbies kind of.
- 53:55Speaker 2: Because he was chubby too. Yeah. And you know what
- 53:58Speaker 2: would happen is he would get involved with a relationship
- 54:02Speaker 2: with like an oversized woman. And then after the woman
- 54:06Speaker 2: lost all the weight, then Richard would just like give
- 54:08Speaker 2: them the Irish goodbye. Really? And just like spatch and
- 54:11Speaker 2: just like peace out. Like he only wanted them for
- 54:14Speaker 2: their weight? Yeah, just kind of wanted them while they
- 54:18Speaker 2: were chubby. And you're not talking about a sexual relationship. No, no, no, no.
- 54:21Speaker 2: Not at all. Just like, you know, helping someone. You know,
- 54:24Speaker 2: it's kind of like if you were chubby and I
- 54:26Speaker 2: helped you and probably sure I helped you and then
- 54:28Speaker 2: all of a sudden I got you skinny and you're
- 54:31Speaker 2: calling me and I'm like, you know, I'm done with you. Like,
- 54:33Speaker 2: on to the next. Like Superman. On to the next.
- 54:36Speaker 1: I needed somewhere else.
- 54:38Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly. And he did do an Irish goodbye. Now,
- 54:42Speaker 2: he loved men, though. I don't know if he did.
- 54:45Speaker 2: That's a good point. Was he ever married? Let's look
- 54:47Speaker 2: that up. No, he never really was either or. That's
- 54:53Speaker 2: a great question.
- 54:55Speaker 1: And maybe he was just like a piece of moon
- 54:57Speaker 1: rock or something. Born Milton Teagle Simmons down there in
- 55:02Speaker 1: New Orleans, Louisiana on July the 12th, and he died
- 55:06Speaker 1: July the 13th.
- 55:08Speaker 2: Did you ever see him when you were in Louisiana?
- 55:10Speaker 1: I never did.
- 55:11Speaker 2: No?
- 55:12Speaker 1: I met, I think, one of his great-granddaughters one time somewhere,
- 55:16Speaker 1: and she was trying to.
- 55:18Speaker 2: Come to one of your shows?
- 55:19Speaker 1: Trying to give me a BJ, honestly, dude.
- 55:22Speaker 2: But this was, that's, who knows what was going on.
- 55:26Speaker 1: But he went to ULL down there, and then he
- 55:28Speaker 1: went to Florida State University.
- 55:30Speaker 2: But no children, it says, I don't think, huh? No,
- 55:32Speaker 2: he had a whole bunch of dogs. That was like
- 55:35Speaker 2: his big thing. But I remember as a kid growing up, like,
- 55:38Speaker 2: when Richard Simmons was coming on Letterman or Howard Stern
- 55:41Speaker 2: or Ellen, like, you would wait. Yeah. You know, like
- 55:44Speaker 2: when Letterman was like, yo, I'm next is Richard Simmons.
- 55:47Speaker 2: You're like, oh, fuck. And he would come out and
- 55:48Speaker 2: he would just kill. He would kill harder than a comedian,
- 55:51Speaker 2: like on the sofa.
- 55:53Speaker 1: He brought an energy with him. He was a real
- 55:55Speaker 1: piece of energy that man. Now, if it's homosexuality, would
- 55:59Speaker 1: you ever would you you might if you would you
- 56:01Speaker 1: be willing to do those type of scenes in it
- 56:03Speaker 1: if you had to to honor him?
- 56:04Speaker 2: If you are the other guy. Oh, sorry. Oh, you're
- 56:09Speaker 2: talking to me? All right, dude. Looks like I just
- 56:11Speaker 2: got a part, huh? The weasel? And the rat, bro.
- 56:16Speaker 2: This is good. That's cross-pollination, dude. So you're acting, though, too.
- 56:20Speaker 2: You're in some movies and stuff, right? No. What do
- 56:22Speaker 2: you like about acting?
- 56:23Speaker 1: You're trying to not talk about yourself, but that's okay.
- 56:26Speaker 1: That's sweet of you to change the subject, Paul. You
- 56:28Speaker 1: do a good job making it about other people. David
- 56:33Speaker 1: Spade and I wrote a movie, and we're trying to
- 56:34Speaker 1: get financing for it.
- 56:35Speaker 2: Huh. Cool. Have you acted a lot? Yes, some. A
- 56:40Speaker 2: little bit? I like it. I love acting. Acting's fucking hard,
- 56:44Speaker 2: which I love.
- 56:44Speaker 1: Well, I mean, dude, in the 90s and early 2000s,
- 56:47Speaker 1: you were, some people say, the biggest star in the world.
- 56:53Speaker 2: Did you feel like that? In my 20s, yeah, I
- 56:55Speaker 2: felt like that. Because I was doing a lot. I
- 56:57Speaker 2: was doing a lot. That's why I said to you
- 56:59Speaker 2: at the comedy store, it was like six months ago,
- 57:01Speaker 2: I said, you're like me. Back when I was, you know,
- 57:04Speaker 2: but you're in your 40s. I was in my 20s.
- 57:06Speaker 2: I can't even imagine. Yeah, it was crazy. I did albums.
- 57:09Speaker 2: I did, you know, movies, HBO specials.
- 57:12Speaker 1: What helped you get your break? Do you feel like
- 57:14Speaker 1: your mom helped you? Do you feel like it was only,
- 57:16Speaker 1: is that a weird question? I don't mean to be rude.
- 57:18Speaker 2: No, no, that's not rude at all. I don't know.
- 57:20Speaker 3: No.
- 57:21Speaker 2: No, MTV. Oh, I know that. But my mom didn't
- 57:23Speaker 2: get me on MTV. I got me on MTV. Yeah. Oh, 100%.
- 57:26Speaker 2: I mean, they saw me and they're like, fuck, this
- 57:28Speaker 2: kid's funny. And I got on MTV and it just,
- 57:31Speaker 2: it took off. And then from there, Jeffrey Katzenberg found me,
- 57:34Speaker 2: and he was running Disney at the time. And he
- 57:36Speaker 2: fucking just wrote all these movies for me. And they
- 57:38Speaker 2: all did well for me.
- 57:39Speaker 1: Do you remember, like, would they come and see you
- 57:41Speaker 1: at the store? Did you have to go to meetings?
- 57:42Speaker 1: What was that like?
- 57:43Speaker 2: Both. Both. I had my manager, Michael Rotenberg, from Three Arts.
- 57:46Speaker 2: That was your manager? Yeah, for eight years. Yeah, he
- 57:48Speaker 2: was my manager the whole time. Michael's a cool dude.
- 57:50Speaker 2: Really fucking cool. That's my homie. What's up, Michael? What's up, Michael?
- 57:54Speaker 2: What's up, Michael Rotenberg? I call him Crisco. You do? Crisco,
- 57:57Speaker 2: because he's so greasy, bro. He's so greasy.
- 58:00Speaker 1: Rotenberg is cool, man. I like his, we have a
- 58:03Speaker 1: similar sense of humor.
- 58:06Speaker 2: Yeah, so he ran my shit, him and Adam Bennett
- 58:10Speaker 2: from CAA.
- 58:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 58:11Speaker 2: Yeah, CAA ran my stuff for those. It was like
- 58:15Speaker 2: Willy Wonka.
- 58:16Speaker 1: I'm sorry I asked you if your mom helped you
- 58:17Speaker 1: get it.
- 58:18Speaker 2: No, I don't care. I know, this wasn't cool, though. Okay, well,
- 58:21Speaker 2: you can cut that part out.
- 58:22Speaker 1: You can leave it in. I just feel a little bad.
- 58:23Speaker 1: I don't know why I said that. Well, I guess
- 58:28Speaker 1: it's a hard business, and people take whatever. Whoever can
- 58:31Speaker 1: help you, sometimes it's good. Not that you didn't stand.
- 58:33Speaker 1: Here's what I mean. It's not that you didn't stand
- 58:35Speaker 1: on your own talent. That's what I mean.
- 58:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 58:37Speaker 2: I think what we need to do is take a silence.
- 58:39Speaker 2: You know how, like, if someone dies?
- 58:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 58:41Speaker 2: You do a silence, and then, you know. Yeah, and
- 58:44Speaker 2: let's put these hats on, too.
- 58:45Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah.
- 58:46Speaker 2: Yeah, hats and the glasses. Yeah. Just for asking me
- 58:49Speaker 2: if my mom got me in the show business.
- 58:51Speaker 3: All right.
- 58:51Speaker 2: Let's just take a time for a, you know what
- 58:53Speaker 2: I mean?
- 58:53Speaker 3: Okay.
- 58:54Speaker 2: Yeah, let's do five seconds, huh? But you've got to breathe.
- 58:57Speaker 2: Think of ayahuasca. I know we do that sometimes up
- 58:59Speaker 2: in the hills. Here we go. Theo and myself are
- 59:05Speaker 2: taking a little moment to get that energy out of
- 59:09Speaker 2: the room. that he put in there, thinking that my mom,
- 59:13Speaker 2: Mitzi Shore, the owner of the biggest comedy club in
- 59:15Speaker 2: the world, got me my break in the entertainment business. Wait,
- 59:20Speaker 2: there's still some bad energy. Just anything, Theo, you want
- 59:24Speaker 2: to add? BLM, homie. Okay, we got it out. That
- 59:30Speaker 2: was good.
- 59:31Speaker 3: All right.
- 59:32Speaker 2: No, but it was just, it was, they saw me
- 59:36Speaker 2: do stand-up. They saw I do, you know, I would MTV.
- 59:42Speaker 2: All right, but was.
- 59:42Speaker 1: There a call that you got when you were like, okay,
- 59:44Speaker 1: this is getting fucking crazy?
- 59:46Speaker 2: Well, after Encino Man came out, and it was a
- 59:49Speaker 2: big hit for me, and then we rolled into Son-in-Law,
- 59:51Speaker 2: and it was just like boom, boom, and they brought
- 59:53Speaker 2: me around the world. You know what I used to
- 59:56Speaker 2: do when I used to.
- 59:59Speaker 2: When we used to do shows, I used to never
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: have people sitting. It was always festival seating. So I
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: always had a band open for me, like the Spin Doctors.
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: They would open for me. And then I would come
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: out and do 45 minutes, people standing. And in between
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: my jokes, I would stage dive. Yeah. Oh, and then
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: just come back to the stage. Exactly. Yeah. I would
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: stage dive, and then I would come back and then
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: do more jokes. That's kind of how it was. But
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: it was called festival seating. You remember as a kid,
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: you'd go to those concerts where there's no seats? Yeah,
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: I love how they call it festival seating. There's no seats.
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: There's no seats. And then I'd bring the band back out,
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: and then I would sing songs. And I had this
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: one song that was a hit song on MTV called
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: Lisa Lisa, The One I Adore. Do you remember it?
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: I don't. I'm a stony crusty dude with a mop
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: on top. My mail-in's fully tweaked, but I'll never stop.
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: Stop trying to wheeze the nugs from coast to coast.
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: The ones with the cones are the ones I dig
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: the most. Sing Lisa Lisa.
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: Lisa Lisa.
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: Stony Body Major.
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: Stony Body Major.
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: Yeah, that's how we do it.
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: You gotta remember it, man.
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: Dude, you know where we used to go? That was
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: fucking insane. Yeah, tell me that. Holy fuck, dude. Let's
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: put our hats on real quick, too. Yeah, our hat
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: goes back on. Fuck, dude. It was... It was, Don
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: Barris was the host. Fuck, what was it called? I
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: wonder what it was called.
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: The Middler, Evening at the.
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: No, it was.
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: The Syrup, Sinking of the Cerebellum.
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: No, it was. Ding Dong Show? No, not the Ding
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: Dong Show. This is way before. This was, fuck, I
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: forgot the name.
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: It wasn't like Retard Wednesdays or something.
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: No, it was Mud Wrestling. It was Mud Wrestling. It
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: was the Tropicana. Oh, in Vegas. No, the Tropicana here
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: in Hollywood. It was a. Right off of Hollywood Boulevard.
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: I didn't even know that. But he used to host
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: this thing, and the girls would come out, and it
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: would be mud wrestling.
- 1:01:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: And Don hosted it. It was fucking hilarious, dude.
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: He had, Don is, yeah, I wouldn't fuck Don, that's
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: for sure.
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: No, but it was a big deal. I mean, I
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: blessed him. I wouldn't fuck him because he's a man.
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: That's why. But mud wrestling was a big deal back
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: in the 90s. That's what I mean, yeah. That's how
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: it was, yeah.
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: Do you think Trump will be the next president?
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: I don't want to say anything. I mean, I don't
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: want to say anything about it. I like watching it
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: and just kind of being a fan of the political theater.
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: I like just watching it and not know. I mean,
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: no one knows what the fuck's going to happen, but
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: I know there's going to be some, it's going to
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: be a real fight. It's kind of like UFC fight,
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: but for, you know, because, It's basically they're fighting for
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: the most powerful job in the world. So they're going
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: to go after each other pretty fucking hard.
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: I mean, and they're completely different. I mean, she's like
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: a prosecutor for like sex trafficking or something, isn't she? Yeah.
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: I don't know. Isn't she like San Francisco? I don't know.
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: I thought she was an undercover cop or something. What
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: was her original job?
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: She was a district attorney previously. District attorney. But wasn't
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: she a prosecutor? Yes, so she would prosecute on behalf of,
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: I think, the Bay Area. Oh, like CSI? I don't know.
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: Huh.
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know, but either way, she's not a
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: fan of Trump. Right, so it's going to be a
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: good battle. And he's not a fan of hers, so
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: it's going to be fun to watch.
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: Did you ever get to party with Trump back in
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: the day anymore?
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: I did see him a lot back in the day, yeah.
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: And what kind of guy did he seem like? If
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: he saw me, he would fucking laugh. Yeah. He'd be like,
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: fuck Pauly Shore. He'd be like, you're still alive? What
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: the fuck? How the fuck are you still around? He
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: was cool. The first time I used to see him
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: was in Daytona Beach, and this was back in the 90s,
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: and this was when we did Spring Break for MTV
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: and all that, and you had Rodney Dangerfield. Vince Neil
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: was down there, John Lovitz, and Ron Rice was the
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: owner of Hawaiian Tropics.
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: That's when the hard tits came out.
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: Remember that? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: Remember when hard-ass tits came out?
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: Yes, and Fabio. Remember Fabio?
- 1:04:12Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: He was around. That was around like out.
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: People would look at my tits, and they look like
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: you could Yeah.
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: Like, if you went like that, it was like. Yeah, yeah. Like,
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: and he touched it and fucking squeaked. Yeah. They're like, damn,
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: what are they made out of? Yeah, and they would
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: lean over and you'd see these, like, bags they'd be
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: hanging out.
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: Yeah, and they would look like, yeah. It was like,
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: almost like somebody had made them out of, like, dish
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: gloves or something.
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: Like, they were like. Right.
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: Like, if you pulled a shirt on them on them,
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: you could.
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: Hear them like.
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: It was like, damn, bitches are plastic, bro. Yeah, and
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: this one girl, I was dating this one girl, her
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: boobs started moving, bro.
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: Yeah, he wound up on her back. Oh, wow. But
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: it was cool, though, because when I was doing behind
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: doggy style, they're right there, bro, easy access. Chinese. Chinese
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: is cool. Chinese is cool. Yeah, so that's right.
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: Some of that is the moon, too, wherever the moon is.
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: That's what's neat about some of those, when wherever the
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: moon is, that's where their tits will go.
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: Yeah. And that's beautiful.
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: A lot of you guys know we started off with
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: our first advertiser ever was Gray Block Pizza.
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: Get that hitter, baby.
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: And the owner of Gray Block Pizza, my friend Thomas,
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: evolved his business up in Oregon to start Blue Cube Baths.
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: And he sent me one, and it's absolutely beautiful. A
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: wonderful cold plunge, the best cold plunge in the market.
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: If you value American-made and pinnacle cold exposure... This is
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: your cold plunge blue cube baths. What I love is
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: you can set that temperature, get it down to, I mean,
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: it might just, you might be able to ice skate
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: in there. I haven't put it that low, but you
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: can set it to a place where you feel comfortable.
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: I'll get in around 50 degrees for about 10 or
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: 12 minutes. And that's what really sets me and activates me.
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: I've done it before, podcasts to really put me And
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: just put me in my body and put me in
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: the moment. You know, the positive side effects of cold
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: plunging are countless. You can follow Blue Cube's Instagram for
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: a chance to win your own cold plunge this spring
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: and summer.
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: That's right.
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: They're giving one away. They will announce the giveaway soon.
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: So follow them at Blue Cube Baths. And we wish
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: them the best of luck. and thank them for supporting
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: the podcast so early on.
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: But yeah, I would see him at the Daytona Beach,
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: like the Hawaiian Tropic parties and stuff.
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: This is my number one thing about Donald Trump, right?
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: I've met him a few times, but not had a
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: chance to really engage with him, right? So you get
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: an idea of him, but you're always like, well, what
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: does he like? Like you, if I never got to
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: talk to you, I would have some general thoughts, but
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: I wouldn't really know, well, what is he like? Like,
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: do you know what he's like? Like, is he like
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: a business guy? Is he just like a fun guy
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: that plays tennis? Like, I think, I wish I knew
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: more about how he is. Does that make any sense?
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I never had those type of conversations where
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: I'm like, oh yeah, I remember one time we talked
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: about this. It was always like, kind of like when
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: I'd see Hugh Hefner. I would never really engage in
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: a conversation with him. I'd always kind of wave, shake
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: his hand, you know what I mean? So with Trump,
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: it was like the same thing.
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: Do you miss those parties over there?
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: Was that fun? It was fun because it was before
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: the whole social media thing. But it's kind of like
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: even driving down Sunset Boulevard now, it's fucking depressing. You know,
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: the store is the only thing that's fucking popping. You
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: know what I mean?
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: Yeah, a lot of shit is just fucking insane.
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: Yeah, but you drive down Sunset on a Saturday night,
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: there's nothing. It's just tumbleweed. It is quiet, huh? People
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: don't go out anymore because people are scared. They don't
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: want to be around the photos and the videos. You
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: know what I mean? So the parties are in the house.
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: People stay in. And also COVID as well. People shifted
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: and stayed in that. Unlike if you go to Texas
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: or Florida where people don't give a fuck.
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: Oh, the second I got to Tennessee, yeah, people were
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: spitting in each other's mouths and shit.
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying?
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: That kind of shit America's about, you know?
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: Recycling. But here in LA, it's just like... It has
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: gotten quieter, huh? Yeah. The word is joy. There's not
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: a lot of joy in Hollywood anymore. There's no fun.
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: Although Silver Lake, Echo Park, Los Feliz, Hipster. Those are
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: fucking fun, dude. Like that whole area, East Hollywood is fucking,
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: it's fun. Yeah.
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: Yeah. It is interesting that Hollywood, it's kind of quieter now. Yeah.
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: And even when I went to, um, I went to-
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: Where is everybody? They're not going out or they moved.
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: They moved.
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: And even just in your life, have you seen it just,
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: change so much?
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: I think after COVID, you know, after COVID and all that,
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: that whole, it just shifted into, you know, a different time.
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: Because when Rogan and them were at the store, that
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: was crazy too. Remember that? I mean, you go on
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: a Tuesday night, bro, and it was insane.
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: Yeah. Just how bad Hollywood is? What is this?
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: This is a guy saying how bad it is in Hollywood.
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: It's not fun. It's not joyful.
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: He's talking about just the industry and what they're making
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: right now.
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: So I wonder if that's having an effect.
- 1:09:21Speaker 5: It's pretty bad here in Hollywood, and now we have
- 1:09:23Speaker 5: some numbers to back it up. Film LA has just
- 1:09:27Speaker 5: released their report on on-location and stage-based production data. Let's
- 1:09:33Speaker 5: take a look at what this means. Production in L.A.
- 1:09:37Speaker 5: is down, way, way, way down. From just last year,
- 1:09:43Speaker 5: feature films are down 3%, 3.3%, versus a five-year average,
- 1:09:47Speaker 5: as we know things were bad already, it is 23.8% down.
- 1:09:51Speaker 5: Commercials are even worse, over a five-year average, 36.1% down.
- 1:09:53Speaker 5: Television is down 45.8%, and whatever other is, is down 20%.
- 1:09:54Speaker 5: So like industrial films, short films, just everything. Reality TV
- 1:10:03Speaker 5: looks insane. The purple line here is reality. There's COVID.
- 1:10:07Speaker 5: There's the strike. There's where reality TV is in LA
- 1:10:11Speaker 5: right now. So as you can see, just across the board,
- 1:10:13Speaker 5: everything is down. All in all, versus a five-year average,
- 1:10:17Speaker 5: production shoot days in Los Angeles, California, the home of
- 1:10:20Speaker 5: the film industry, are down 33.4%.
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:10:23Speaker 5: So I got a little curious when I went to
- 1:10:25Speaker 5: the Bureau of Labor Statistics to get the numbers on
- 1:10:27Speaker 5: unemployment rates in the motion picture and television industry. Now,
- 1:10:29Speaker 5: they do lump the sound recording industries in with this.
- 1:10:32Speaker 5: but as you can see, it's not good. That is
- 1:10:35Speaker 5: a 16.1% unemployment rate in the motion picture and television industry.
- 1:10:40Speaker 5: And that is from June, so that is not counting
- 1:10:42Speaker 5: the massive layoffs that just occurred again at Warner Bros. Discovery,
- 1:10:45Speaker 5: and it's definitely not counting all the.
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: Ones that are about to come.
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: They're just interesting, and I'm not saying all this is exact,
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: but I saw this the other day, and I was like, wow, yeah,
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: I wonder if there's just not as many people here
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: as well.
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: Well, it's also the business has shifted.
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: You know, the business has shifted to this. I mean,
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: look how many millions of people watch you doing this.
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: You know what I mean? So it's not, you know, everything.
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: And look at the OnlyFans girls. I mean, you probably
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: know a lot of women that, you know, back in
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: the day, if you were a pretty girl and you
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: had to come to LA, you're Maxim, Playboy, Penthouse, Hustler, FHM.
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: And that was it. You had to get in one
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: of those. Now, no one needs those. And now you
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: got all these influencers doing and making money. So everything
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: has shifted, you know? So I think since 2015, 16,
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: 17- You know, the business has shifted. And then guys
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: like Mark Wahlberg moved to Vegas. So they're trying to
- 1:11:36Speaker 2: do a whole studio out there. Make their own things. Yeah,
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: doing their own things. So people are saying like, hey,
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: you don't need to live in L.A. And especially because
- 1:11:44Speaker 2: everyone's in the Zoom world now. You know, no one
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: goes to fucking meetings anymore. I feel bad for people
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: that own office buildings. I mean, think about it. I mean,
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: how big of a nut is that CAA building? You've
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: been in there. Yeah. It's fucking massive.
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: It's huge in there.
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: You know how much that is for rent? And the
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: agent's probably like, I don't feel like going in. I'm
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: going to get sick or I'm going to stay home.
- 1:12:07Speaker 2: And they just let them. Look at that.
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: And then a lot of new agencies kind of started
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: up when social media started because or when TikTok and
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: people popped up on Instagram, they joined like Groups like Shots,
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: have you heard of them? Who owns Shots or who
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: started Shots? S-H-O-T-S. But it's the Wild West. But that
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: became like the agency. It was like a new, you
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: know what I'm saying? Because CA and they weren't even
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: on board, you know, different agencies weren't even seeing this
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: sort of thing, you know?
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: Yeah, so, I mean, you know.
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: Shots Podcast Network. Shots Podcast Network is a company, oh,
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: founded by John Shahidi.
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: I didn't even know that.
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: And Sam Shahidi.
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: I know these guys.
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: The company was originally founded as a software development company.
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: In 2009.
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: In November 2019, Spotify announced a suite of podcasts and
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: included a partnership with Shots Podcast Network. But yes, groups
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: like Shots became the representatives for a lot of talent.
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: And so they weren't even working with the original agencies anymore,
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: the big agencies anymore.
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, it's... It's changed. It's completely changed.
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: Yeah, the other day someone was like, do you want
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: to be in a movie? And I was like, is
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: it going to be 40 seconds long? And is it
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: going to be on TikTok?
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: That's hilarious.
- 1:13:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: Kids can't even watch a movie without taking a pill now,
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: some kids. They're like, mom, give me two pills.
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: I'm going to watch a movie.
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: Give me half a gallon of it.
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: No, I can't. That's the same with me. I got
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: to have a pill when I watch my movies too. No,
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: but it's true. Like, you know, you watch... You're watching
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: the news, and then you're watching your Netflix, then you're
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: on your Instagram, and you're looking at your thing. It's
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: fucked up, but it is the way it is. It's
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: like he's got us. Steve Jobs got us.
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: He won, huh?
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: Yeah, he got us. I mean, we're basically, we're this.
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: It's just the way it is. You know what I mean?
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: And the wildest part, Paulie, I think one thing is
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: that some people for years have been like, you think
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: we'll live forever. You think there'll be a time where
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: we'll live forever. And now I do, but it's not
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: in the way we think. It's going to be in
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: a digitized way. It's like eventually, from this episode alone,
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: they'll be able to make a you and a me
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: that can exist in some virtual world where you could talk.
- 1:14:24Speaker 2: To us any time. This is good. We could be
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: in Japan tomorrow. Oh, yeah. This is good. Sona. Hey, huh? Sayonara. Sayonara.
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: Los tits, eh? Los tits. You know, it's about the numbers.
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: It's about the eyeballs. You know, you, Joe, Tony- Shane Gillis,
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: you know, all these guys, like, you fucking tapped into it.
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: You know what I mean? Yeah. I mean, you don't
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: need all that shit because at the end of the day,
- 1:14:48Speaker 2: everyone's coming after you now. I mean, they see the
- 1:14:51Speaker 2: tickets you're selling. They see the numbers that this is.
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: You know what I mean? It's fucking crazy. Like, if
- 1:14:56Speaker 2: you wanted to star in your own Theo Vaughn series, like,
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: fucking everybody, what's the guy? Everybody loves Randy or whatever. Yeah,
- 1:15:04Speaker 2: the Randy Redwoods. No, the fucking. Rick Springfield in it?
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: Who was in it? No, you know what I'm saying.
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: What the fuck? Everybody loves Raymond? Oh, Tires? No, the
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: guy that starred in the Christmas movies.
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: Oh, I know who you're talking about. David Quaid? No,
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: Ernest Saves Christmas.
- 1:15:24Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Yeah, put up Ernest. Ernest Saves Christmas. You're
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: the next guy. Let me produce these movies. It'll be great.
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: There you go. See, this is what you got to do.
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: Come on, dude. Dude, you're the modern day fucking Ernest, bro. No,
- 1:15:36Speaker 2: that guy was a BLM activist, dude. Look at this guy.
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: How great would this be? We could do fucking Theo
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: saves Christmas. Theo fucking goes to, you know, on vacation.
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: Theo saves $ 40 too. Chinese, go to his IMDB. Yeah,
- 1:15:51Speaker 2: here we go. See, we could just take your head out.
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: Take your head out and put your fucking, his head
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: out and put your like, what is this? Ernest saves Christmas.
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: Ernest goes to camp. So it just changes the name.
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: Fucking Theo saves Christmas. Theo goes to jail. Ernest goes
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: to rehab, I could do. You know what I'm saying, dude?
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: Ernest goes to detox. Dude, I would do a series
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: of these, bro. That's what I'm saying, dude. Ernest goes
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: to remedial reading. Ernest goes to court. Ernest goes to Africa.
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: Theo goes to Africa. Theo goes to the army. This
- 1:16:24Speaker 2: is you, bro.
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: If Ernest goes to Africa, Ernest goes to the AIDS clinic, too, probably.
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: I'm guessing, and no offense to Africa, those are rumors,
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: and a lot of that's on Reddit.
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: So what do you think? I mean, this is, we
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: can just, can you guys, can you guys Photoshop Theo's
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: head on top of his head?
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: Well, that's the thing. Probably, they're just going to be
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: able to, as long as they license you or whatever,
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: they can put you in a movie, dude.
- 1:16:44Speaker 2: But yeah, but we got to do it for you.
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: You're hot right now. This could be good. I don't know.
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: Scroll up to the top. Yeah, you don't want to
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: fucking do a David Spade movie. Do a fucking Theo
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: Scared and Stupid. Theo Scared and Stupid is perfect. I mean,
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: you could just do your face. Put his face back
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: up there. Put his dumb face. Dude, can you do
- 1:17:04Speaker 2: blackface in the future? Let's be honest. No, no, no, no, no, no.
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: We don't want to do that. Here, put his face
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: back up. Not now, dude. Look at this. Wait, here
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: we go.
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: At least we should be able to do Native American face, right?
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: Yeah, see this guy. Do this face right here. Do it. Yeah,
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: that's what I'm saying. Hold on.
- 1:17:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: I mean, that's a fucking hit, dude. I don't know.
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: I don't think it looked anything alike. You got to
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: do a series of movies. This is great. It's perfect timing.
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: I don't know, man. Go straight to YouTube.
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: I like just being here each week. Mm-hmm.
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: But maybe, I don't know. I mean, the thing about space,
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: I notice it's like, this is what I heard about movies.
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: It's fun if you're with your friends, dude.
- 1:17:41Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: And if you have to be somewhere, stuck somewhere for
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: a while and it's not your friend or you want
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: to sit there every night and have dinner, then it
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: just seems like it's not as fun, you know?
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: Yeah. That's why I could never be in that movie
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: because Dave's in it.
- 1:17:54Speaker 3: Really?
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: We're not friends. Y'all aren't? No, fuck that guy. No,
- 1:17:56Speaker 2: I'm just kidding. No, he's my friend. I met him.
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: You know I met him. I did a movie with
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: George Burns. No way. From The Gods Must Be Crazy? No,
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: it was called 18 Again. George Burns. You remember George Burns?
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: Yeah, from The Gods Must Be Crazy.
- 1:18:09Speaker 2: Wasn't he in that? The old guy. Here, put up
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: George Burns, 18 again, right there. So this is George Burns.
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: This was my first movie ever. George Burns was a
- 1:18:18Speaker 2: comedian back in the day. Oh, yeah, I know he
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: was George Burns. He lived to about 98 years old. Yeah,
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: that guy. So I did this movie. See this guy
- 1:18:25Speaker 2: on the left? His name's Charlie Schlatter. So I played
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: Charlie Schlatter's best friend in 18 again. Yeah, so that's
- 1:18:33Speaker 2: why I met George Burns, and that's when I met
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: David Spade, because David Spade was best friends with Charlie Schlatter.
- 1:18:39Speaker 2: So I've known David Spade since I was 19. Wow.
- 1:18:43Speaker 2: How has he always had so much luck with the ladies?
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: Be honest, man. I don't know. He's sexy. Oh, he's sexy.
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: a close friend of mine.
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: I think he's handsome. He's one of the funniest guys. Yes.
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: But how did he get so, I mean, there's a
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: lot of guys that are like that.
- 1:18:58Speaker 2: Not like him. He's special. But, The guy's, you know. Yeah,
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: he's good.
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: He's like the David Copperfield of straight.
- 1:19:06Speaker 2: Dudes, man. Yeah, he's a gorgeous man.
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: He's a gorgeous man. Well, is that true? I don't know.
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: Look it, there you go.
- 1:19:17Speaker 4: See?
- 1:19:17Speaker 2: We got to put Theo goes to school, though.
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: Yeah, these guys are fired.
- 1:19:20Speaker 2: Yeah, you know what I'm saying? They have one job.
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: They left Ernest on the thing. I'm checking, I'm checking, man. Oh,
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: but Theo goes to BLM rally too, dude. I'll fucking
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: roll up at that bitch, dude.
- 1:19:36Speaker 2: Huh? I say we do a series of fucking Ernest
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: movies and just change it to Theo and just do
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: the same fucking script. No one's going to know. The
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: kids aren't going to remember this fucking guy.
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: Dude, most people can't even see that far.
- 1:19:48Speaker 2: How far can people see usually? What do you mean?
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: I'm just saying, like, how far can somebody see?
- 1:19:58Speaker 2: What does that mean?
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: The average sight distance for a person with normal vision
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: is about three miles. Get fucked, dude. When standing on
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: a flat surface with their eyes about five feet above
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: the ground. That is bullshit. I thought it was like
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: 70 feet or something.
- 1:20:13Speaker 2: Why are you asking this question?
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: I'm not sure exactly, I guess. We were just talking
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: about David Spade, Average Reed.
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: Oh. Whatever, man.
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: We'll move it along.
- 1:20:23Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: When Bobby Lee came, what was it like when you
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: saw him first? Because a lot of people are like,
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: what is it?
- 1:20:30Speaker 2: He was just adorable. You remember him? Yeah, I discovered him.
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: You know I discovered him. I didn't know that. You
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: didn't know that.
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: I didn't.
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. No, I found him.
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: Where'd you see him at?
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: Panda Express. He was getting some orange chicken. No, I
- 1:20:48Speaker 2: saw him naked at a Korean spa.
- 1:20:50Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 1:20:51Speaker 2: No, for real. I saw him.
- 1:20:54Speaker 2: He's from San Diego. Yeah. He's from Petaluma. Yeah, a
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: restaurant called Brockton Villa. And he was like a server there.
- 1:21:01Speaker 2: And you just saw him. I think I was there
- 1:21:03Speaker 2: with my mom or my brothers or something. And I said, yo,
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: you're fucking hilarious. Come to the comedy store. So I
- 1:21:10Speaker 2: got him a gig at the comedy store. He was
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: taking tickets. In La Jolla?
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: Yeah, in La Jolla, the comedy store there. And you
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: just thought he was funny from the interactions?
- 1:21:17Speaker 2: Yeah, just because he was adorable. And then- He started
- 1:21:22Speaker 2: taking tickets at the La Jolla room. And then he
- 1:21:25Speaker 2: started going up on open mic night. And then I
- 1:21:27Speaker 2: would see him down there. And every time I'd come
- 1:21:29Speaker 2: down there and play, I'd kind of put him up
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: in front of me. And then eventually I took him
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: on the road. And then he became a paid regular
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: at the Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas when my mom
- 1:21:42Speaker 2: was there to see me. And he opened for me
- 1:21:44Speaker 2: at the Riviera Hotel in the late 90s. And that's
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: when my mom made him a paid regular. She says,
- 1:21:49Speaker 2: you're funny. You can work the store. Right then. Yeah.
- 1:21:52Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: Yeah, so I discovered. Dude, that's awesome. You did all
- 1:21:55Speaker 2: that for him. Yeah. And then he opened for me
- 1:21:57Speaker 2: for eight years.
- 1:21:58Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: He toured with me for eight years, opened for me
- 1:22:00Speaker 2: on the bus and the whole thing, kind of like Ari.
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: You know, Amir, they opened for you. He just opened
- 1:22:06Speaker 2: for me. We did merch. I got videos of him
- 1:22:09Speaker 2: fucking chicks. Yeah. Yeah, it's fucking great. I'm going to
- 1:22:12Speaker 2: release them the next time he's got something coming out,
- 1:22:15Speaker 2: you know? Oh, yeah.
- 1:22:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:22:17Speaker 2: Oh, this was Guest House. Wow.
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: So you guys went through all that together. What was
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: he like then? And what ethnicity was he? Because people
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: were like.
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: What is he? He's not Korean?
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:22:30Speaker 2: Bring up Korea. You think he's from Thailand or something?
- 1:22:37Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: He looks more like Osaka to me or whatever.
- 1:22:40Speaker 3: Huh.
- 1:22:41Speaker 2: But I don't know. Yeah. So, you know, so I,
- 1:22:44Speaker 2: I've written some scripts with him. I got a great
- 1:22:46Speaker 2: script called captured where I capture him and put him
- 1:22:49Speaker 2: in a cage in my backyard. Oh yeah. And, um,
- 1:22:52Speaker 2: we did this. He's done a lot of stuff with me.
- 1:22:54Speaker 2: He's in guest house and.
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: Like they're feeding him pine nuts. He's an interesting guy,
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: you know?
- 1:22:58Speaker 2: Yeah. He's one of a kind.
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: Would he sleep all day back then? Or was he
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: a more of a morning person? Cause he's devolved into
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: a nighttime. He's, he's awake like five hours a day.
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: You know, it's definitely very specific.
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: Style of living. Yeah, he, I don't know, he would
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: hide from me a lot. He'd always hide from me.
- 1:23:17Speaker 2: One time he cried on the road with me. He
- 1:23:20Speaker 2: cried because I wanted to, it was, we were in Detroit.
- 1:23:25Speaker 2: That'll do it. Sorry, dude. No, no, we were in
- 1:23:29Speaker 2: Detroit and, you know, the road manager gives everyone their
- 1:23:34Speaker 2: hotel keys, you know, so Bobby goes to his key
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: and I just fall into his room. And he was like,
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: what are you doing? I'm like, I'm staying with you tonight.
- 1:23:41Speaker 2: You know, I'm going to stay with you in the room.
- 1:23:43Speaker 2: And he wasn't into that. And I'm like, no, dude,
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: because I don't have anyone. I'm lonely. I don't want
- 1:23:48Speaker 2: to go back to my room by myself.
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. Yeah.
- 1:23:50Speaker 2: And I, you know, and then he started crying. And
- 1:23:52Speaker 2: then when he cried, I just left. But, yeah. Yeah. Oh, yeah.
- 1:23:57Speaker 2: He's definitely.
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: And the crazy thing about him crying, it's like one
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: tear gets in his eye and it's.
- 1:24:04Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:24:04Speaker 2: Yeah. It's full. He's doing great now, too. It's full.
- 1:24:09Speaker 2: But again, I told him, I said, dude, it's going
- 1:24:11Speaker 2: to happen for you. He was always neurotic.
- 1:24:14Speaker 3: Really?
- 1:24:14Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, yeah. Before his podcast, he was just trying
- 1:24:18Speaker 2: to figure... He barely was selling out comedy clubs. Wow.
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: You know what I mean? I've always.
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: He's one guy who could never change a word from
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: his set, and I would watch every single time. There's just... Actually,
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: when he walks up, the setup is already there.
- 1:24:35Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: And not in a negative way. The setup is already there.
- 1:24:39Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I love Bobby. Bobby is very close with him.
- 1:24:43Speaker 2: I do see him at the Korean spa sometimes. He
- 1:24:45Speaker 2: gets really fucking freaked out when I go again.
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: Really?
- 1:24:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: He showed his butthole to some kids somewhere. I don't
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: know where that was at.
- 1:24:51Speaker 2: I'm trying to remember.
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: I don't know if there's a video of that. It
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: was definitely a drawing of it.
- 1:24:56Speaker 2: Yeah, but he's a good dude, you know? He's doing good. Yeah,
- 1:25:02Speaker 2: he's doing good. You know who else is doing good?
- 1:25:03Speaker 2: Jesus Trejo. He's doing good, too.
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: He's always been so funny.
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: Yeah, so he opened for me for eight years, too. Dang.
- 1:25:11Speaker 2: Eight years, yeah. A lot of these guys. Eight years
- 1:25:13Speaker 2: in opener. Ari Shaffir opened for me. Rick Ingram opened
- 1:25:16Speaker 2: for me. All these guys. Yeah, it's cool. I love
- 1:25:20Speaker 2: bringing those guys out on the road.
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: Yeah, that's one cool thing about the store is just like....
- 1:25:25Speaker 2: It's just.
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: I don't know, once you get in there and you
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: make your way through and you've been there for a
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: while and you know who's who and you kind of,
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: you develop your own little relationship with the space and
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: the people you love to see and people come and
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: go and the people that work there and it's like,
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: it is just such a universe. We're lucky to be
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: able to have a workplace that has a lot of
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: joy and different people at it.
- 1:25:49Speaker 2: And it's fun.
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: Imagine you get to go to work and it's actually,
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: you can say what you want, you're encouraged. There's no
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: real HR. In fact, HR is like, HR is encouraging
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: you to fucking save crazy shit. I never thought about that, man.
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: That's such a crazy blessing, dude. Do you think your
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: mother felt very achieved with her, with the comedy club?
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, she's, you know, and that's, you know,
- 1:26:14Speaker 2: the way, the way that it's still, the way that
- 1:26:17Speaker 2: it's left right now is exactly how she left it,
- 1:26:20Speaker 2: which is awesome. You know, she just put her stamp
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: on it. She's leave it alone. Don't fuck with it. And,
- 1:26:25Speaker 2: you know, just like, you know, the rooms are set
- 1:26:28Speaker 2: up the way they are and different than the laugh factor,
- 1:26:30Speaker 2: different than the improv, different vibes. Those are great clubs. But,
- 1:26:34Speaker 2: you know, she kind of created the black and the
- 1:26:37Speaker 2: red and all that stuff and, you know, and created
- 1:26:39Speaker 2: that space. So, you know.
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: It's pretty tight. Yeah, you wouldn't want it to change.
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: Was there ever a chance that it was going to
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: be sold at some point?
- 1:26:48Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't think we would ever sell it.
- 1:26:50Speaker 2: You know what I mean? I think just kind of
- 1:26:51Speaker 2: leave it. It's, you know, it's got to be. What's
- 1:26:55Speaker 2: it called? A Hollywood or a landmark or what's it called? Grandfather.
- 1:26:58Speaker 2: What's it called?
- 1:26:59Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 1:27:00Speaker 2: It's like a– Historical landmark. Yeah, historical landmark. Yeah, at
- 1:27:03Speaker 2: some point, huh?
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I think so. Yeah, it's a good point. I
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: remember somebody– I don't know if I saw a drawing
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: somewhere that a hotel had drawn around it. They were
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: going to build and leave it intact as is on
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: the ground.
- 1:27:17Speaker 2: That's kind of cool.
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: And build up and just– it was like a 20-story
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: hotel and it would be right under exactly the same.
- 1:27:24Speaker 2: Huh.
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: I remember seeing a– somebody had put that together. I
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: don't know if it was an– I think it was
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: an architect drawing. I don't know if it was actually
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: considered at one point, but I thought I remembered seeing
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: that somewhere. What– when you look at your life and
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: like maybe having a family, do you have any children?
- 1:27:42Speaker 2: My dog.
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: That's like Scott. Your brother is the same, huh?
- 1:27:45Speaker 2: Do you have children? Scott's got a dog. He's got
- 1:27:47Speaker 2: a dog. Yeah, I got a dog. I don't know.
- 1:27:51Speaker 2: I mean– That's a whole other podcast. Okay. That's like
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: a fucking, you know what I mean? We'll do it.
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: That's like a whole other fucking.
- 1:27:59Speaker 2: That's a good point. You know what I mean? That's
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: a whole, there you go. That's my dog Buster. Oh,
- 1:28:05Speaker 2: that's cute.
- 1:28:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: When you look at guys like Brody Stevens, right? Who
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: have had, who, what a shock was that? Is that,
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: do you feel like things like that happen with suicide
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: amongst comedians and stuff that happens? I mean, Jack Knight,
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: remember Jack Knight?
- 1:28:21Speaker 2: Who is that? Bring up Jack Knight. Who is he?
- 1:28:25Speaker 2: So funny. Great energy.
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: You remember Jack Knight?
- 1:28:31Speaker 2: Huh. Remember seeing him?
- 1:28:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:28:35Speaker 2: I think two years ago he took his life. Huh.
- 1:28:38Speaker 2: I mean, one of the funniest young men. Heartbreaking. Yeah,
- 1:28:45Speaker 2: sometimes it's hard to get your mind to just fucking relax.
- 1:28:49Speaker 2: You know what I mean? And I think it's important.
- 1:28:52Speaker 2: It sounds kind of corny, but I think it's really
- 1:28:54Speaker 2: important that everyone focuses on what they have as opposed
- 1:28:57Speaker 2: to what they don't have. And I think that is
- 1:28:59Speaker 2: like the key. Like you got to focus on your
- 1:29:02Speaker 2: blessings as opposed to– Yeah.
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: Because the other way is a trap because there's no
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: end to– you can like– Yeah. Focus on what you
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: don't have and try to– I mean I fall into
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: it all the time, but it's just a– it's such
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: a trap or wanting more.
- 1:29:21Speaker 2: And then not even enjoying.
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: The saddest thing, I think, is sometimes when I look
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: back on certain moments in my life and I'm like, man,
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: I wish I had enjoyed that a little more. Just
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: by being present or just by sitting there quietly or by.
- 1:29:33Speaker 2: Letting it in.
- 1:29:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:29:35Speaker 2: Letting it in. Yeah. And so what are you doing
- 1:29:37Speaker 2: with all your money?
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: I've been saving some money. Some?
- 1:29:41Speaker 2: Some. I mean, fuck, everyone sees the arenas, like you
- 1:29:45Speaker 2: fucking Tom Segura. Not arenas, dude. Segura, fucking Burke. Oh,
- 1:29:48Speaker 2: those guys have been making some money, dude. I mean,
- 1:29:51Speaker 2: Jesus Christ, dude. I wouldn't know what to do with that.
- 1:29:54Speaker 2: I mean, it's crazy. You got to put it away, bro. Oh,
- 1:29:58Speaker 2: I see. I mean, you don't spend on yourself just
- 1:30:01Speaker 2: like me.
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:30:02Speaker 2: Right?
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: You got a Jeep or... Yeah, I got a Jeep Cherokee.
- 1:30:05Speaker 2: Like, I don't like... I've never been that guy either.
- 1:30:08Speaker 2: I felt embarrassed... Inviting people over.
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: To my apartment when I was a kid because I
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: was ashamed of it. And I feel embarrassed sometimes. I
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: have a house in Nashville. It's a nice home. And
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: it's not like an estate or anything. But I feel
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: ashamed even sometimes showing that. It's like, I just, I
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: don't know.
- 1:30:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm trying to rent out my house now too.
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: Oh yeah, it's a beautiful home. Yeah, I'm trying to
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: rent out the house too. With all that, what's that like, terracotta?
- 1:30:39Speaker 2: Yeah, terracotta tile.
- 1:30:40Speaker 3: God.
- 1:30:40Speaker 2: No, just because it's like you said, like I'm just
- 1:30:42Speaker 2: one guy with my dog. You know, and then I
- 1:30:44Speaker 2: have a condo in Vegas. You know, I kind of- Yeah,
- 1:30:47Speaker 2: you live there a lot. Yeah, I stock you at
- 1:30:49Speaker 2: the Resorts World. So my, I see your poster there
- 1:30:52Speaker 2: all the time. So I, you know, it's right there.
- 1:30:55Speaker 2: So I have like a one bedroom condo and I
- 1:30:57Speaker 2: got all my shit there and it feels more comfortable
- 1:31:00Speaker 2: than my house in L.A., because you know i'm just
- 1:31:03Speaker 2: one guy you know the older you get the realize
- 1:31:05Speaker 2: the less you need i don't want to be that
- 1:31:07Speaker 2: guy that's that by himself with his dog in this
- 1:31:10Speaker 2: big house oh you know what i mean so i
- 1:31:12Speaker 2: just don't like i don't like living in a big
- 1:31:15Speaker 2: house you know it's not who i.
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: Am yeah i think some things that are kind of
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: this is kind of fucking emo and sad and is
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: definitely going to be accused of light homosexuality but um
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: yeah like sometimes i'll lay in bed at night and
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: like just the the The space in my bed, it
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: feels fucking lonesome, you know? But then sometimes if a
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: girl wanted to stay over, I'd be like, I don't
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: know if I like having somebody stay over.
- 1:31:38Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: So it's like I just.
- 1:31:41Speaker 2: Yeah. Everything with me. Well, I'll sleep in the other room. Yeah, yeah. No,
- 1:31:45Speaker 2: if a girl stays at night, I'm like, I'm going
- 1:31:46Speaker 2: to go peace out in the other room. Okay, okay.
- 1:31:50Speaker 2: But when you sleep alone at night, what do you do?
- 1:31:52Speaker 2: How do you sleep? Okay, here's what I do. So
- 1:31:55Speaker 2: first I wash my face, brush my teeth, put in
- 1:31:58Speaker 2: my retainers, put on a Breathe Right strip on my nose, right?
- 1:32:03Speaker 2: I want all the O2. Is that from all the coke?
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: I don't know what it's from. It could be just
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: from having a big nose. It could be from cocaine.
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: It could be a mix of things. It could be
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: from Satan. Who knows what happened. So you put the
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: stuff on here. Put the thing on, and then I'll
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: lay down, put a pillow between my legs, get another
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: pillow that I hold on to, set the air conditioner
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: at 69, because I don't want to be too crazy.
- 1:32:26Speaker 2: And then.
- 1:32:26Speaker 1: And then you start 69ing your pillow? And I'll pee.
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: I will pee right before I go to sleep and
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: hope I don't have to pee all night. That's my
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: goal is to not have to pee all night.
- 1:32:34Speaker 2: And then what about sleep medication? Be honest. Yep.
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: I'll take a couple Melatonin Chewies.
- 1:32:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: And then I'll take a... There's a pill from my doctor.
- 1:32:46Speaker 2: It's a... A Xanax? No, no. Ambien?
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: No, it's so light. It's like fucking... It's just basically like...
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: It's like a little queer nugget. I mean, this thing wouldn't,
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: it would barely do.
- 1:32:59Speaker 2: Nothing to you. And then why is it that you
- 1:33:01Speaker 2: think you need to take the melatonin and this pill
- 1:33:04Speaker 2: from the doctor? Wait, stop. Wait three seconds to answer.
- 1:33:07Speaker 2: Think about it. Why do you have to take that
- 1:33:10Speaker 2: in order to sleep? Is it a psychological thing? Do
- 1:33:14Speaker 2: you really feel like it really mellows you out or
- 1:33:16Speaker 2: do you think that it mellows you out?
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: I think it mellows me out.
- 1:33:18Speaker 4: Really?
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: And I got to shut it down.
- 1:33:21Speaker 2: Especially after a show, right?
- 1:33:22Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:33:23Speaker 2: Oh yeah. Fuck.
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: And right now I am, I think I'm 64 days
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: off of masturbation and 60 days off of porn, 64
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: days off pornography and 57 days off of masturbation.
- 1:33:34Speaker 2: So then you were doing it a lot?
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: Not a lot, but I had done it for countless years.
- 1:33:38Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. But back when you were young, even in
- 1:33:41Speaker 2: your forties, you're jerking off all the time. Really?
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: Yeah. Don't you like to save your cum? I mean, yeah,
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: I like to store up for winter or whatever, I guess.
- 1:33:49Speaker 2: I don't know, but it's like– Yeah, because if you're
- 1:33:50Speaker 2: going to come with a chick, you want a lot
- 1:33:52Speaker 2: to come out. I don't know. I don't want her
- 1:33:54Speaker 2: to get crazy.
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: I don't want her to be like, God, we got
- 1:33:56Speaker 1: to– you're ruining the curtains or whatever.
- 1:33:58Speaker 2: When you have sex with a girl, do you put
- 1:34:00Speaker 2: a condom on or she put it on or she
- 1:34:02Speaker 2: tells you to put it on?
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: Look, if people want to use a condom, we let
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: them use them, you know?
- 1:34:06Speaker 2: Who's we? I don't know who we are, Your Honor.
- 1:34:09Speaker 2: I don't know who we are, okay? Talk to my
- 1:34:12Speaker 2: attorney right now. And then sometimes you put it in,
- 1:34:14Speaker 2: and then they're like, yo, you're having sex with girls
- 1:34:17Speaker 2: without condoms? You're like, oh, what are you talking about?
- 1:34:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:34:20Speaker 2: Right? That's fucking right.
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: I don't know what you're talking about. I don't know
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: what you're talking about either, bro. That's crazy, dude. That's
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: why this is going a different way.
- 1:34:28Speaker 2: Okay. So when were your parents separated? Do you remember? Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 1:34:32Speaker 2: We're not going to my fucking parents all of a sudden.
- 1:34:34Speaker 2: We're talking about you fucking your pillow. Dude, do you
- 1:34:37Speaker 2: remember the first time you ever had sex? Wait, wait, wait, wait.
- 1:34:39Speaker 2: Let's go back to your sleep situation. Okay. We're going
- 1:34:41Speaker 2: back to three seconds. I'm laying there.
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: I got all my stuff. Oh, and then I'll put
- 1:34:44Speaker 1: stuff in my hair to try and keep my hair healthy.
- 1:34:46Speaker 2: So just like type of. Copper foam.
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: There's like a foam you can get online.
- 1:34:50Speaker 2: What about Propecia? I take Finasteride pill. I take Propecia. Oh, yeah.
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: You're taking the store-bought one. I take the freelance one
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: or whatever.
- 1:34:58Speaker 2: What's the freelance one?
- 1:34:59Speaker 1: It's the one that you can get out the guy's
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: van or whatever down there.
- 1:35:03Speaker 2: Oh, wow.
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: Finasteride.
- 1:35:06Speaker 2: Oh, I should get some of it. Is it a pill?
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: It's the same thing you're taking. It's just the generic version.
- 1:35:12Speaker 2: You're rich. Why don't you get the real Propecia? Propecia.
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: Yeah, but I'm fucking used to just the off-market pills.
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: What about the generic Cialis? Oh, dude, I took the
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: stuff from India for a while. It would make my
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: legs sweat.
- 1:35:24Speaker 2: So, generic Cialis?
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: It was just like an Indian... Do you take the
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: Cialis or the Viagra? It was just that fucking ramp
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: maker from India, baby. That thing will fucking... Good Lord, son.
- 1:35:35Speaker 2: Really?
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: Oh, you could fucking knit a scarf with that thing.
- 1:35:40Speaker 2: What's it called?
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: That thing will whistle for a cab, baby.
- 1:35:42Speaker 3: That thing.
- 1:35:43Speaker 2: It was a website. It went under.
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: It was off this gambling site or whatever, but I
- 1:35:49Speaker 1: used to get them. It would take forever to get
- 1:35:51Speaker 1: the pills. They'd come in this package, and they had like.
- 1:35:53Speaker 2: Do you ever get massages? Yeah. Who's your masseuse? You
- 1:35:57Speaker 2: don't have to tell me the guy's name or the
- 1:35:58Speaker 2: girl's name. It's a man. So, yeah, he comes over
- 1:36:01Speaker 2: to the house with the table?
- 1:36:02Speaker 3: No, no, no.
- 1:36:02Speaker 1: I go to his place.
- 1:36:03Speaker 2: It's off Westwood Boulevard. Why didn't you have him come
- 1:36:05Speaker 2: to your house with the table? I got a guy, dude.
- 1:36:07Speaker 2: He's strong as fuck. No, I got a guy. He's great.
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: Dude, I don't need some guy to come over and
- 1:36:12Speaker 1: touch me, dude. You know what I'm saying, bro?
- 1:36:14Speaker 2: Wait, touching at your house is different than touching at
- 1:36:16Speaker 2: a fucking his facility? Who gives a fuck?
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: You think I'm fucking Protestant or something, dude? I'm good, bro. Yeah,
- 1:36:23Speaker 1: I'd rather at least drive. Then I can leave. Otherwise,
- 1:36:25Speaker 1: I have to tell the guy to leave. Yeah, I
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: don't want some guy touching me at my fucking house, dude.
- 1:36:28Speaker 2: Really?
- 1:36:29Speaker 3: No.
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: Huh.
- 1:36:31Speaker 2: No, dude. Even if he's a professional masseuse and he
- 1:36:33Speaker 2: just came from David Geffen's house. I don't know.
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: Dude, a professional masseuse is just some guy that printed
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: something off the internet, dude.
- 1:36:42Speaker 2: No, I got a guy who's really strong, really strong. Okay,
- 1:36:45Speaker 2: but how about this? And he comes to my house,
- 1:36:48Speaker 2: and he has a table, and he's coming at night
- 1:36:49Speaker 2: because I'm flying to Raleigh tomorrow, so I want to
- 1:36:52Speaker 2: get a little deep tissue before.
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: But you tell me this. Say you go look online.
- 1:36:58Speaker 2: I don't look online. Okay. I don't look online for masseuses.
- 1:37:02Speaker 2: No way. No, I just get it from a referral.
- 1:37:05Speaker 2: You ask a homie that's like, hey, do you have
- 1:37:07Speaker 2: any good massage? Oh, yeah. This girl, she's really strong, da, da, da, da.
- 1:37:10Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:37:10Speaker 2: And you ask someone, you just get it that way.
- 1:37:12Speaker 2: You're right. I got a strong guy coming to the house.
- 1:37:16Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:37:17Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:37:17Speaker 1: You win, dude. Look, I like going to see this guy.
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: I will say this. Where's your house?
- 1:37:22Speaker 2: Where do you live? I live in Nashville. No, out here. Westwood.
- 1:37:26Speaker 2: So you have a place out in Westwood?
- 1:37:27Speaker 1: I have an apartment in Westwood, yeah.
- 1:37:29Speaker 2: Okay. I'll send him to your house for me. I'll
- 1:37:30Speaker 2: buy a masseuse for you. I'll buy the masseuse for you.
- 1:37:34Speaker 2: And then go do it and then tell me if
- 1:37:36Speaker 2: you fucking like it. Okay. And he's strong as fuck.
- 1:37:39Speaker 2: Is he?
- 1:37:39Speaker 1: Very strong. I want very strong. I want somebody who just.
- 1:37:42Speaker 2: Yeah. No, he'll get in there. He's fucking good, dude. Okay. Yeah.
- 1:37:45Speaker 2: I'll do that. Yeah. My present for you. Really?
- 1:37:48Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:37:48Speaker 2: Because at the end of the day, you're up there
- 1:37:51Speaker 2: on stage. You're traveling. You're making people laugh. You got
- 1:37:53Speaker 2: to take care of your shoulders. What about the spa?
- 1:37:55Speaker 2: You go to the Russian bathhouse or?
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: But I do start getting steam room. Now I do
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: do that.
- 1:38:00Speaker 2: Yeah. So the Korean spa. Yeah.
- 1:38:02Speaker 1: I do start getting steam room now, and it's good.
- 1:38:04Speaker 2: I went yesterday. Yeah, you have to.
- 1:38:06Speaker 1: I didn't realize I needed to take care of myself.
- 1:38:08Speaker 2: Dude, I do all the time. I go five days
- 1:38:10Speaker 2: a week.
- 1:38:11Speaker 1: Fuck, I didn't know that. Dude, it killed me, dude.
- 1:38:15Speaker 1: My hair got thin, all kind of stuff, because I
- 1:38:16Speaker 1: wasn't taking care of myself. I just didn't know.
- 1:38:19Speaker 2: Yes. And in Vegas, there's a place called Imperial Spa.
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: Oh, I've heard of that.
- 1:38:23Speaker 2: Yeah. And it's good. It's a Korean spa. But also,
- 1:38:27Speaker 2: there's all those spas and the cold plunge and all
- 1:38:29Speaker 2: that shit.
- 1:38:29Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:38:30Speaker 2: You got to do that.
- 1:38:30Speaker 1: I got a cold plunge at home. My friend makes
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: a good cold plunge, and he gave me one as
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: a gift. And he was my first sponsor ever on
- 1:38:37Speaker 1: my podcast. He used to own a pizza place here.
- 1:38:39Speaker 3: Oh, wow.
- 1:38:40Speaker 1: My friend Thomas used to run a place called Gray
- 1:38:43Speaker 1: Block Pizza, and then he moved to Bend, Oregon, and
- 1:38:44Speaker 1: started making cold plunges. Cold plunges, yeah, out there with
- 1:38:48Speaker 1: his buddies.
- 1:38:48Speaker 5: Beautiful.
- 1:38:49Speaker 2: Yeah, because it's all about sweating. What about the workout?
- 1:38:52Speaker 2: What do you do with that?
- 1:38:53Speaker 1: I get a trainer like two days a week, and
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: then I'll go myself probably one or two days a week.
- 1:38:59Speaker 1: I'll do a little bit of yoga too.
- 1:39:01Speaker 2: Stretch lab? Do you go to get stretched? No, I
- 1:39:03Speaker 2: do my own yoga. That's good. Chiropractor?
- 1:39:06Speaker 1: No, but I need to go this morning. I was
- 1:39:07Speaker 1: looking at myself.
- 1:39:08Speaker 2: I was like, Jesus. I got a good chiropractor out
- 1:39:10Speaker 2: here too. Really?
- 1:39:11Speaker 3: Really good.
- 1:39:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I was looking at my body in the mirror.
- 1:39:13Speaker 1: I was like, Jesus, what is that? You just seem
- 1:39:16Speaker 1: like it was like fucking like it was like.
- 1:39:19Speaker 2: Yeah. You gotta do that shit. My whole body looking,
- 1:39:22Speaker 2: you just wasn't sure. And dude, you know what? I'm
- 1:39:24Speaker 2: like 10 years older than you.
- 1:39:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:39:26Speaker 2: So it's like, you know, this is the age where
- 1:39:27Speaker 2: you gotta start stretching. Really doing it. Yeah, that's the
- 1:39:30Speaker 2: most important thing, and sweating. Yeah. Yeah, do it all.
- 1:39:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm starting to learn a little bit more of that.
- 1:39:37Speaker 1: Now you can only get kind of so famous, right?
- 1:39:39Speaker 1: Like fame is different now. It feels like everybody's pretty
- 1:39:42Speaker 1: popular kind of.
- 1:39:43Speaker 2: Everybody is, yeah.
- 1:39:44Speaker 1: Because there's so much stuff to see quickly. It used
- 1:39:47Speaker 1: to be you had to go see a movie and
- 1:39:49Speaker 1: then those people would be famous. But now in the
- 1:39:52Speaker 1: time it would take you to watch a movie, you
- 1:39:53Speaker 1: can look at 200 different people and all of them
- 1:39:57Speaker 1: have a level of achievement to you. Do you feel
- 1:40:00Speaker 1: like you got fame at like the best time?
- 1:40:02Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 1:40:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I think it was the last great
- 1:40:07Speaker 2: decade of it. I mean, if you look at the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s,
- 1:40:11Speaker 2: that was all kind of similar. And then once reality
- 1:40:14Speaker 2: shows hit, you know, the real world, I think that
- 1:40:16Speaker 2: was like the first reality show, which was in like
- 1:40:18Speaker 2: in the mid-90s. Yeah. I think that's when things got
- 1:40:21Speaker 2: fucked up. Yeah. But yeah, no, it was, you know,
- 1:40:25Speaker 2: it was pretty.
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: Yeah, that's so crazy.
- 1:40:28Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:40:28Speaker 1: Like, did you ever get to party with like Michael Jackson?
- 1:40:32Speaker 2: No. No, I met him once. You did? Yeah, I
- 1:40:36Speaker 2: met him once, but it wasn't like we hung out.
- 1:40:38Speaker 2: It was just like a hi type thing. But I mean,
- 1:40:41Speaker 2: back in the MTV days, I met a lot of
- 1:40:42Speaker 2: pretty cool- But do.
- 1:40:43Speaker 1: You remember the sound of his voice or anything or no? Hi.
- 1:40:47Speaker 2: Hi, what's going on? Hi, Pauly. I like your music
- 1:40:50Speaker 2: video show. It's very cute.
- 1:40:51Speaker 4: Really?
- 1:40:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:40:53Speaker 2: He was fucking amazing.
- 1:40:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:40:55Speaker 2: I mean, God. I'm glad you're meeting him. You look
- 1:40:58Speaker 2: at guys like Bruno Mars, super talented, but not Michael
- 1:41:02Speaker 2: Jackson or Prince or These guys were like another level, yeah.
- 1:41:08Speaker 1: And they had a level of mystery, and it was like, yeah. Yeah,
- 1:41:13Speaker 1: there was just so much, I don't know.
- 1:41:15Speaker 2: But also MTV was the biggest thing in the world.
- 1:41:17Speaker 2: Biggest thing in the world. Yeah, it was the biggest
- 1:41:19Speaker 2: thing in the world.
- 1:41:20Speaker 1: It was the only thing between.
- 1:41:22Speaker 2: That kids watched, yeah.
- 1:41:24Speaker 1: Oh, you're watching MTV? Come over, let's watch MTV.
- 1:41:27Speaker 2: Yeah, let's watch MTV. It's crazy. Remember TRL? Oh, yeah,
- 1:41:30Speaker 2: Total Request Live. Yeah.
- 1:41:31Speaker 1: And who was the host on it?
- 1:41:33Speaker 2: Carson Daly, yeah. Carson Daly, dude. And he would toss
- 1:41:37Speaker 2: to like Britney Spears or Korn, Limp Bizkit. Wyclef. Yeah,
- 1:41:43Speaker 2: this was like one of the last great eras here.
- 1:41:46Speaker 2: Britney Spears.
- 1:41:47Speaker 1: He ever gets to party with her?
- 1:41:50Speaker 2: Not really. No, not really. She's in her own thing.
- 1:41:57Speaker 2: She did steal my table recently in Las Vegas.
- 1:42:01Speaker 1: Oh, she showed up at a club?
- 1:42:03Speaker 2: Oh, no, I was having dinner at Catch in Vegas
- 1:42:06Speaker 2: over at the Aria, and I went to the bathroom,
- 1:42:09Speaker 2: and then she fucking, I guess, she hit some security guy,
- 1:42:12Speaker 2: and then she went in, and then I come back
- 1:42:14Speaker 2: to my fucking table, and she's sitting at my table.
- 1:42:17Speaker 2: By herself? No, she's with her boyfriend or husband. Here,
- 1:42:21Speaker 2: look at this right here.
- 1:42:23Speaker 1: She keeps getting different husbands or whatever.
- 1:42:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:42:27Speaker 2: Yeah, so look, she touches this guy, and the security
- 1:42:30Speaker 2: hits her in the face.
- 1:42:31Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:42:32Speaker 1: Wow.
- 1:42:32Speaker 2: Yeah. Maybe one more time. And then she runs into
- 1:42:38Speaker 2: the catch, and I didn't care. You know what I mean?
- 1:42:44Speaker 2: It's not like I'm, get out of my table.
- 1:42:45Speaker 1: But she ran to catch because she was probably embarrassed.
- 1:42:47Speaker 2: Yeah, and she went in there, and I was like,
- 1:42:49Speaker 2: all right, just give me my fanny pack. You can
- 1:42:51Speaker 2: have the table. I don't care.
- 1:42:51Speaker 1: And did she say anything or no?
- 1:42:54Speaker 2: She said sorry. It's all good. It wasn't a big deal.
- 1:42:58Speaker 1: How did she seem?
- 1:42:59Speaker 2: Okay? She seemed buzzed.
- 1:43:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:43:02Speaker 2: You know, but she's from where you're from.
- 1:43:04Speaker 1: Oh, dude, you can get buzzed down there.
- 1:43:07Speaker 3: Right?
- 1:43:07Speaker 1: Oh, just looking at your cousin, yeah. Get you hard.
- 1:43:10Speaker 1: Or not hard, buzzed, I meant.
- 1:43:12Speaker 2: Yeah, no, down in Louisiana. There's no comedy clubs in Louisiana.
- 1:43:15Speaker 1: Isn't that crazy? Do you remember there used to be
- 1:43:17Speaker 1: the Baton Rouge Funny Bone?
- 1:43:18Speaker 2: Did you ever go to it? Yes. Bro, that place had.
- 1:43:20Speaker 1: A strip club across the street.
- 1:43:24Speaker 2: Yeah, we used to do comedy down there back in
- 1:43:25Speaker 2: the day. I played a lot of clubs back there,
- 1:43:28Speaker 2: back in the 90s.
- 1:43:29Speaker 1: New Orleans didn't even have a club.
- 1:43:30Speaker 2: The what?
- 1:43:31Speaker 1: New Orleans doesn't have a comedy club. This is where
- 1:43:33Speaker 1: it was. Oh, across the street.
- 1:43:34Speaker 2: Oh, wow. Right there. That was it.
- 1:43:38Speaker 1: The Funny Bone, baby. Baton Rouge Funny Bone.
- 1:43:41Speaker 2: And, um.
- 1:43:43Speaker 2: Rest in peace, uh... Is that the strip club? The Penthouse?
- 1:43:47Speaker 2: That's hilarious.
- 1:43:48Speaker 1: Yeah, that was it.
- 1:43:49Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 1:43:49Speaker 5: Jesus.
- 1:43:50Speaker 2: Down in Bennington Ave, baby.
- 1:43:52Speaker 1: That's where I got my start.
- 1:43:53Speaker 2: Right over there. Yeah. And then, um.
- 1:43:58Speaker 1: Yeah, dude, what happened to me? I went to the store.
- 1:44:00Speaker 1: I was on the porch one time, right, getting a beer.
- 1:44:02Speaker 1: I was just coming out here, and Tommy comes out,
- 1:44:06Speaker 1: and he's like, well, haven't seen you in a while.
- 1:44:11Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:44:12Speaker 1: And, bro, I'd never been there. I think he had
- 1:44:14Speaker 1: me confused with somebody.
- 1:44:16Speaker 2: Oh, that's fucking hilarious.
- 1:44:17Speaker 1: He's like, why don't you come in tomorrow? I'll give
- 1:44:19Speaker 1: you a spot.
- 1:44:20Speaker 2: Right. I'm like, all right, fuck. What year was this?
- 1:44:24Speaker 1: Shit, I don't even know.
- 1:44:25Speaker 2: 2017, maybe. Mm-hmm.
- 1:44:28Speaker 1: No, no, that's insane.
- 1:44:29Speaker 2: No, 2007. Yeah, sorry, dude. What the fuck?
- 1:44:34Speaker 5: 17.
- 1:44:34Speaker 2: My calendar's broken. Pauly Shore. Yeah, man. I'm glad we
- 1:44:39Speaker 2: got to sit down finally. Me too.
- 1:44:41Speaker 1: I would love to talk again, but we'll talk about
- 1:44:43Speaker 1: the relationship stuff one day.
- 1:44:45Speaker 2: Yeah, because I think we're similar. Yeah. It's tough. You
- 1:44:49Speaker 2: know what I mean? Yeah. And there's also something nice
- 1:44:52Speaker 2: about being alone. Yeah, and that grows over time, too.
- 1:44:56Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 1:44:58Speaker 2: Yeah. You know, um, and you always, you know, you
- 1:45:01Speaker 2: always get people asking the same thing, which is what
- 1:45:04Speaker 2: you asked me, do you want kids? And there's like
- 1:45:07Speaker 2: a long pause and like you with the right situation.
- 1:45:10Speaker 2: I think I would, I'd be a good dad. I
- 1:45:12Speaker 2: know I'd be a good dad. And everyone says that
- 1:45:14Speaker 2: to me, you know, cause I love my, not to
- 1:45:17Speaker 2: compare my dog to a kid, but I treat my
- 1:45:19Speaker 2: dog great. And I love being with, and I feel
- 1:45:21Speaker 2: like it's my kid, you know? So, um, yeah. And
- 1:45:25Speaker 2: then also another thing is like, my parents are deceased
- 1:45:28Speaker 2: and I don't have that. So it's like, you know,
- 1:45:30Speaker 2: so you start a new life, you know, cause I'm
- 1:45:32Speaker 2: an orphan, you know, you know, and, and, and I
- 1:45:36Speaker 2: want to, you know, start a new life and look
- 1:45:37Speaker 2: at my next 20, 30 years. And I think it'd
- 1:45:39Speaker 2: be cool to have a kid, you know? But again,
- 1:45:42Speaker 2: like it's gotta be the, you know. And to make
- 1:45:44Speaker 2: them laugh, dude, that would be cool.
- 1:45:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:45:46Speaker 1: Make your kid laugh all the time. Or what if
- 1:45:48Speaker 1: they don't even laugh at your jokes? You're like, damn.
- 1:45:50Speaker 2: Hilarious. That'd be even funnier. That would be fucking funnier. Gosh.
- 1:45:55Speaker 1: But, um, Yeah, it would be really nice, man. It
- 1:45:58Speaker 1: would be really, really nice. It's tough, though, because I
- 1:46:00Speaker 1: think as a comedian, part of you is still a
- 1:46:02Speaker 1: kid in some ways. You know, I think it's a
- 1:46:04Speaker 1: part of that that we don't let go of. And
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: it's so for some of us or for me, for sure.
- 1:46:09Speaker 2: Is your parents still with us? It's tough to evolve. Yeah,
- 1:46:11Speaker 2: my mother's still alive. And your dad?
- 1:46:15Speaker 1: And my dad is dead, but he'd be alive if
- 1:46:18Speaker 1: he could.
- 1:46:18Speaker 2: And then you have brothers and sisters?
- 1:46:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I got three brothers and sisters. They've all had children.
- 1:46:23Speaker 1: Or two of them have had kids.
- 1:46:24Speaker 2: Okay, so how's that? So there's been kids. It's fun.
- 1:46:25Speaker 2: Being an uncle's great. Yeah, I saw you on your
- 1:46:28Speaker 2: Instagram when you were home with them. Yeah, we had
- 1:46:30Speaker 2: a blast. Do you have nieces and nephews? Yes, I do. Oh, good. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:46:33Speaker 1: Peter has some children?
- 1:46:34Speaker 2: Yep. Oh, that's cool. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, yeah. We'll see.
- 1:46:39Speaker 2: It's cool. We'll see. But anyways. It's possible.
- 1:46:43Speaker 1: Pauly Shore, man. Thank you so much, dude. I really
- 1:46:45Speaker 1: appreciate it.
- 1:46:46Speaker 2: Can I plug my stuff real quick? Yeah, let's do it.
- 1:46:48Speaker 2: We'll plug it at the beginning for you, too. What
- 1:46:50Speaker 2: is it? It's my podcast. It's called The PMS Podcast Show.
- 1:46:53Speaker 2: Love to have you on it. It's over at Jam
- 1:46:55Speaker 2: in the Van, which is awesome. And then I have
- 1:46:58Speaker 2: my one-man show called Stick with the Dancing, which is
- 1:47:01Speaker 2: in the Richard Simmons biopic, of course. We're going to
- 1:47:04Speaker 2: be doing that as well.
- 1:47:05Speaker 1: That video is so impressive. If you haven't gotten a
- 1:47:06Speaker 1: chance to see it, we played a little bit of
- 1:47:08Speaker 1: it here, but... Court gesture, yeah. God, it's amazing, dude.
- 1:47:11Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 1:47:11Speaker 1: Yeah, and best of all, that's cool, man. Congratulations, dude,
- 1:47:15Speaker 1: on staying creative. And just on your propensity to be
- 1:47:18Speaker 1: hopeful and positive for other people. That's really, it's a
- 1:47:21Speaker 1: nice gift to have, you know?
- 1:47:23Speaker 2: Yeah. And then also, just so you know, I didn't
- 1:47:25Speaker 2: say this, but we sleep the same. I do the
- 1:47:28Speaker 2: same thing. Pillow between my legs, 69 degrees, shit in
- 1:47:32Speaker 2: my hair, stuff on my eyes, you know? Semen in my,
- 1:47:36Speaker 2: you know, right here. That's good. You forgot that.
- 1:47:40Speaker 1: Chinese.
- 1:47:40Speaker 2: Chinese. Later, dudes.
