- 0:00Speaker 1: Now, nine till noon weekday.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Smart Simone. Only on 710WOR.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Well, we have breaking news for you. First of all,
- 0:13Speaker 1: Katie Zakaria just did her first briefing. First day on
- 0:17Speaker 1: the job, first briefing. Kept it short. Just went through
- 0:21Speaker 1: the important stuff she had to inform everybody about. And
- 0:25Speaker 1: then that was it. Didn't take questions. But the big news.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Kimberly Guilfoyle has been asked to resign. Let me see
- 0:33Speaker 1: if I can find the clip here.
- 0:34Speaker 3: Kimberly Guilfoyle, the Daily Mail has been reporting on her
- 0:37Speaker 3: since last year.
- 0:38Speaker 4: The president said yesterday to reporters that he is considering
- 0:42Speaker 4: firing her.
- 0:42Speaker 5: Do you know a timeline for that?
- 0:44Speaker 6: And also, potentially, who could be on the short list
- 0:47Speaker 6: to replace her.
- 0:48Speaker 7: If he does?
- 0:49Speaker 3: We have asked Ambassador Guilfoyle to resign. She has been
- 0:54Speaker 3: a wonderful asset to the team, and we wish her well.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Just wonderful. Please resign. Well, listen, it's a messy situation.
- 1:03Speaker 1: So she has been asked to resign. She doesn't have
- 1:06Speaker 1: much choice there. Who's on the short list? I don't
- 1:10Speaker 1: think anybody really cares who's on the short list to
- 1:11Speaker 1: be the ambassador of Greece. Anyway, she's out. Kimberly Guilfoyle
- 1:17Speaker 1: will most likely resign by the end of the day. Now, again,
- 1:20Speaker 1: it was a number of things. The most recent incident,
- 1:23Speaker 1: this donor came forward. and said that she had racked
- 1:26Speaker 1: up this huge American Express bill, and she asked him
- 1:30Speaker 1: to pay it off, to send $ 100, 000. And she said,
- 1:35Speaker 1: you can wire it just to American Express. It doesn't
- 1:38Speaker 1: have to be any connection with you and me. He
- 1:40Speaker 1: didn't want to do it. But there's other incidents that
- 1:44Speaker 1: have been reported. Now, there's certain Greek tycoons that have
- 1:50Speaker 1: said they've been paying for her travel and for this
- 1:52Speaker 1: and that, and that She told them, I'll make you
- 1:55Speaker 1: a lot of money, actually a lot of effing money.
- 1:58Speaker 1: She had access to a lot of Trump stuff, and
- 2:02Speaker 1: she could help them out. So Kimberly Guilfoyle has been
- 2:07Speaker 1: asked to resign. It would be a late afternoon in
- 2:11Speaker 1: Greece right now. We'll see what happens. Imagine that she's
- 2:16Speaker 1: making a lot of phone calls right now to everybody.
- 2:19Speaker 1: trying to see what can be done. It won't work.
- 2:21Speaker 1: And then probably by the end of the day today,
- 2:25Speaker 1: she'll resign. So we'll keep an eye on that for you.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Zelensky says Russia is still hitting its energy facilities. The
- 2:34Speaker 1: president wanted an energy deal where they don't hit the energy.
- 2:38Speaker 1: They don't knock out refineries and gas refineries, diesel refineries,
- 2:43Speaker 1: because it drives the price of oil up. So Zelensky
- 2:46Speaker 1: says Russia broke the agreement. if you look at it,
- 2:50Speaker 1: they hit a power plant. That's not what the deal
- 2:52Speaker 1: was about. The deal was about don't hit oil facilities,
- 2:55Speaker 1: don't drive up the price of gas. So apparently Russia
- 2:58Speaker 1: hit a power plant, but that's a standard part of warfare.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Here's Zelensky.
- 3:02Speaker 6: If Russia wants us to stop our long-range strikes against
- 3:08Speaker 6: its oil refineries and oil exports, then Russia must stop
- 3:14Speaker 6: its strikes against our energy system. And critical infrastructure.
- 3:21Speaker 1: He's hard to listen to. Stop talking anyway. So I
- 3:29Speaker 1: guess he's got a point there, but it's just part
- 3:34Speaker 1: of warfare. You knock out bridges, you knock out energy.
- 3:37Speaker 1: When we went to war in Iraq, first day, we
- 3:39Speaker 1: knocked out the power plants, we knocked out the bridges.
- 3:41Speaker 1: That's just what you do in a war. University of Chicago,
- 3:46Speaker 1: they got a fraternity there. Sexual assault reported. 21-year-old woman
- 3:51Speaker 1: allegedly sexually assaulted at a frat party, University of Chicago.
- 3:56Speaker 1: This is the problem with these fraternities. You know, that
- 3:58Speaker 1: Cornell situation, as awful as that looks, there's about 8,000
- 4:04Speaker 1: of these incidents every year in America at colleges, at fraternities.
- 4:09Speaker 1: 8,000 a year. There's a couple universities that had like
- 4:14Speaker 1: 200 incidents a year. That's That's a couple every month.
- 4:18Speaker 1: It's a terrible situation, but it goes on all the time.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Remember this, Ilhan Omar. Ilhan Omar, the investigation started under Biden.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Just remember that. This is a Biden investigation. The Trump
- 4:34Speaker 1: administration is continuing. You know what was awful? This Six
- 4:38Speaker 1: Flags incident. This father-in-law. He's got his children. He's got
- 4:43Speaker 1: his wife. They're on the roller coaster. I don't know
- 4:45Speaker 1: what happened. They were investigating. Nobody's explained it yet, but
- 4:48Speaker 1: somehow he goes flying out of the roller coaster, plunging
- 4:52Speaker 1: to his death. Everybody in the roller coaster has to
- 4:55Speaker 1: watch this. Apparently, as he went plunging down, he hit
- 4:58Speaker 1: other cars, landed on the roof of the haunted house.
- 5:04Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 5:04Speaker 1: I would never get in one of those crazy roller coasters.
- 5:06Speaker 1: It just looks dangerous. I mean, I guess they're safe
- 5:11Speaker 1: because this is the only incident we've heard about. There
- 5:13Speaker 1: must be millions of people riding these things, but it
- 5:17Speaker 1: doesn't sound safe.
- 5:18Speaker 7: This is.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Not a great thing to have happen for Six Flags, but.
- 5:24Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 5:26Speaker 1: I've got to look it up and see how many
- 5:27Speaker 1: times there have been these rollercoaster accidents, but it's a horrible,
- 5:31Speaker 1: horrible situation. So, hey, Florida is doing pretty well. Florida
- 5:39Speaker 1: You're losing DeSantis, not the nicest guy, but he's been
- 5:42Speaker 1: a phenomenal governor, phenomenal governor, and his term limited out,
- 5:47Speaker 1: can't run again. Byron Donalds, he would be the perfect
- 5:51Speaker 1: new governor. He's not the best campaigner. He's running, but
- 5:54Speaker 1: not a great campaigner. President Trump having to run down
- 5:58Speaker 1: there and help him out. The president will be flying
- 6:02Speaker 1: all over the place. Now, Katie Zakaria is the new
- 6:05Speaker 1: press secretary, and she did say in this press briefing,
- 6:08Speaker 1: She will travel with the president, which means she's got
- 6:11Speaker 1: to take up this brutal schedule where you fly all
- 6:15Speaker 1: over the country. Every day you fly to another place,
- 6:18Speaker 1: you fly back. A lot of air travel. Today he's
- 6:21Speaker 1: going to Alaska and coming back. And then the rest
- 6:25Speaker 1: of the week, I think tomorrow's Nevada. It's just nonstop flying,
- 6:29Speaker 1: crisscrossing the country, trying to help the midterms. The midterms
- 6:34Speaker 1: are just too close to call. Looks pretty good for
- 6:36Speaker 1: Republicans in the Senate. Now, the problem with Alaska, Alaska
- 6:42Speaker 1: has this stupid rank choice voting. Democrats put this in.
- 6:46Speaker 1: It's a way of legally rigging an election, this dumb
- 6:50Speaker 1: rank choice voting. But the problem with it is when
- 6:53Speaker 1: it's election night in 21 days, you're going to have
- 6:57Speaker 1: all these results. And I guarantee you, you're going to
- 6:59Speaker 1: have to wait on Alaska for about four days until
- 7:02Speaker 1: they figure out the rank choice voting, if it's that close. And,
- 7:07Speaker 1: you know, it could be. 49 for the Republicans in
- 7:11Speaker 1: the Senate. And then you have to wait days to
- 7:13Speaker 1: find out if they got Alaska. If the Republicans hit 50,
- 7:17Speaker 1: then it won't matter. But Alaska could hold up the
- 7:21Speaker 1: election results for a long time. Hey, speaking of Florida, California,
- 7:26Speaker 1: the worst run state. I mean, just a disaster under Newsom.
- 7:30Speaker 1: It's so awful to try to do business in California
- 7:33Speaker 1: that businesses are fleeing like crazy. And even the tech
- 7:36Speaker 1: business is the most famous thing in California business, Silicon Valley.
- 7:40Speaker 1: It's slowly but surely leaving. And a lot of it
- 7:44Speaker 1: moving to Florida more and more. A lot of it
- 7:47Speaker 1: going to Miami. A lot of it going to West
- 7:49Speaker 1: Palm Beach. West Palm Beach, not that big a city,
- 7:52Speaker 1: but it's becoming a huge city. Steve Roth, the guy
- 7:56Speaker 1: that built Hudson Yards, major developers, putting skyscrapers, hospitals, office buildings, home,
- 8:02Speaker 1: everything in there. And more and more builders are there.
- 8:05Speaker 1: So it's going to be a major... Come back in
- 8:07Speaker 1: a couple of years, West Palm Beach will be as
- 8:09Speaker 1: big as Miami. But those two places are going to
- 8:12Speaker 1: be the new Silicon Valley. And this is going to
- 8:15Speaker 1: make a huge difference for Florida in the future for
- 8:18Speaker 1: their economy to have these trillion-dollar companies there. So one
- 8:23Speaker 1: of the results of Newsom is losing their biggest industry
- 8:27Speaker 1: to Florida. It's just horrible what happened to California. Under Newsom.
- 8:33Speaker 1: All those Democrats. It used to be a state that
- 8:35Speaker 1: could go either way. They'd have a Republican governor. They'd
- 8:37Speaker 1: have a Democratic governor. Go back and forth. Once it
- 8:40Speaker 1: became a one-party state, it just went all to hell.
- 8:43Speaker 1: And it's just a disaster. And there's no signs of ever,
- 8:47Speaker 1: ever turning it around. So, hey, you know, the Democrats
- 8:53Speaker 1: want to bring back cancel culture. They miss it. It
- 8:56Speaker 1: was a great way to silence people. you know, the
- 8:59Speaker 1: cancel culture, one wrong word, you're out, your career is over,
- 9:02Speaker 1: you can never show your face in public again. So
- 9:04Speaker 1: they want to start with Shane Gillis, who was on
- 9:08Speaker 1: Saturday Night Live. He was the host this past week.
- 9:10Speaker 1: And in the monologue, they think what he said was
- 9:14Speaker 1: so offensive that he should be canceled. It really wasn't bad.
- 9:17Speaker 1: It was, I mean, it was, he was making fun
- 9:20Speaker 1: of women. He hadn't been in a gym in a
- 9:22Speaker 1: long time. So now he's going to the gym again.
- 9:24Speaker 1: He didn't know that women dressed like whores. And he
- 9:27Speaker 1: started to describe, you know, sometimes you're in the gym
- 9:29Speaker 1: and they're wearing this little skimpy shorts. And I mean, listen,
- 9:33Speaker 1: it got a big laugh from the audience. If you
- 9:35Speaker 1: watch it, the audience is laughing like crazy, but the
- 9:40Speaker 1: cancel culture says it was misogynist and how dare he
- 9:43Speaker 1: use the word whore or women. And so there's an
- 9:46Speaker 1: effort now to cancel and we'll see if they can
- 9:49Speaker 1: restart this cancel culture. They're trying with him. If it
- 9:52Speaker 1: fails with him, it most likely will fail for good.
- 9:56Speaker 1: But they're going to keep trying and keep trying. Are
- 9:59Speaker 1: you following that? Kelly Clarkson story? Kelly Clarkson goes into it.
- 10:04Speaker 1: There's something, she saw it in a picture store in Brooklyn.
- 10:07Speaker 1: She wants this, whatever it is, it's some big thing
- 10:10Speaker 1: on the wall. And she goes in to buy it
- 10:13Speaker 1: and they won't sell it to her. So she starts
- 10:16Speaker 1: this whole thing online and it went super viral about
- 10:19Speaker 1: how this store treated her like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman.
- 10:23Speaker 1: You know, they thought she didn't have any money and
- 10:25Speaker 1: they treated her like crap and they wouldn't sell it
- 10:27Speaker 1: to her. So it got millions of hits and the
- 10:31Speaker 1: store got all kinds of trouble out of this. But
- 10:34Speaker 1: their side of it is, which could be the truth,
- 10:38Speaker 1: they said it's not anything for sale. It's something we
- 10:41Speaker 1: have decorating our walls. We bought it to decorate the
- 10:45Speaker 1: store with. You know, a lot of times you go
- 10:47Speaker 1: into a store and they've got an incredible painting on
- 10:50Speaker 1: the wall they got an incredible something on the it's
- 10:52Speaker 1: it's to decorate the store it's not for sale it's
- 10:55Speaker 1: not what they sell so they may have a good
- 10:58Speaker 1: point there and they said they told her here's the
- 11:01Speaker 1: guy who makes these you can get one from him
- 11:03Speaker 1: but we're not selling this it's part of our store
- 11:05Speaker 1: decoration so i don't know who do you believe there
- 11:08Speaker 1: i kind of believe the store on that because she
- 11:11Speaker 1: offered a lot of money for it but but if
- 11:14Speaker 1: it's really just decor why would they sell it to
- 11:16Speaker 1: her she's So she may be wrong on this one. Now,
- 11:22Speaker 1: Selma Blair, there's no debate here. Yeah, you're just not
- 11:29Speaker 1: supposed to do that on a plane. Not right. Sean
- 11:32Speaker 1: Diddy Combs, taken from a New Jersey prison yesterday to
- 11:37Speaker 1: a hospital for a head injury. He got to the hospital.
- 11:42Speaker 1: He left the prison at 1 a.m. He was back
- 11:44Speaker 1: by 7 a.m. So bad. I guess it wasn't that serious, but, uh,
- 11:49Speaker 1: some kind of serious, serious head injury, uh, could have
- 11:53Speaker 1: been a fight in prison, could have been, uh, something,
- 11:57Speaker 1: obviously some violence there. Uh, the problem is, uh, it
- 12:03Speaker 1: came out a while, a while ago that he was,
- 12:05Speaker 1: you remember the scene in Goodfellas where the mob guys
- 12:08Speaker 1: are in prison and the guards are bringing them steak
- 12:10Speaker 1: and lobsters and champagne and they're paying off everybody. Well,
- 12:14Speaker 1: it came out that, uh, Diddy was getting that kind
- 12:17Speaker 1: of treatment, that he was getting massages, alcohol, special meals,
- 12:21Speaker 1: regular cleaning of his toilet and shower. He had his
- 12:25Speaker 1: own cell phone. He got all the porn he wanted.
- 12:29Speaker 1: So when that came out, apparently they threw him back
- 12:31Speaker 1: into the general population, I guess. And then he comes
- 12:36Speaker 1: out of the hospital with this terrible head injury. But
- 12:41Speaker 1: he's back in prison now. Harry Styles, listen, these people
- 12:50Speaker 1: can't help it. Harry Styles doing a concert, Madison Square Garden,
- 12:55Speaker 1: in the middle of the concert, starts yelling and screaming
- 12:58Speaker 1: about ICE, gives the whole audience a lecture about ICE.
- 13:03Speaker 1: And again, this Oscar, Oscar, poor Oscar. Oscar's the dangerous
- 13:08Speaker 1: criminal who ICE was trying to arrest in New York.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Oscar's a career criminal. He's only been in the country
- 13:15Speaker 1: three years. He's already got a pretty good rap sheet.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Neighbors say he was an awful, evil, menacing, walked around
- 13:21Speaker 1: with a machete threatening them. But this is who Harry
- 13:24Speaker 1: Styles is sticking up for. But it got a cheer
- 13:26Speaker 1: out of the crowd. Harry Styles said, I just want
- 13:31Speaker 1: to take a moment to think about Oscar Belgal tonight. Oscar,
- 13:38Speaker 1: who Ice had to shoot at because... Now, Mamdani... is
- 13:41Speaker 1: saying he wants to change police procedure. He said, you're
- 13:44Speaker 1: taught never to shoot at a moving vehicle. Yeah, well,
- 13:48Speaker 1: that's true. In the police academy, they'll teach you if
- 13:51Speaker 1: you're trying to stop a guy, a criminal, he gets
- 13:53Speaker 1: into his car and starts to drive away, don't shoot
- 13:56Speaker 1: at a moving vehicle. You might hit somebody. But it
- 13:59Speaker 1: doesn't apply if the vehicle is trying to run you over.
- 14:02Speaker 1: If it's coming right at you, then you can shoot
- 14:05Speaker 1: the vehicle. There's a big difference that Mamdani doesn't seem
- 14:08Speaker 1: to grasp. Stiles, after his little lecture about Oscar, did
- 14:13Speaker 1: get back to playing music, so that's good news. Again,
- 14:18Speaker 1: you're going to hear about this Oscar, Oscar, Oscar all
- 14:21Speaker 1: the time. Here's that chevalier, that crazy kook socialist.
- 14:25Speaker 2: The other thing that really.
- 14:28Speaker 3: Angered me was when Police Commissioner Tisch came out. I
- 14:34Speaker 3: understand that it is her role to provide more information,
- 14:37Speaker 3: and that is why she comes to these press conferences.
- 14:40Speaker 3: But rather than condemn ICE, rather than condemn the shooting
- 14:46Speaker 3: or the events that had just taken place, she started
- 14:49Speaker 3: to villainize ICE.
- 14:52Speaker 2: Oscar, right. Villainize him.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Oscar is literally a villain. He's exactly a villain. She
- 14:59Speaker 1: villainized him because he's a villain. He's a career criminal.
- 15:03Speaker 1: He's got gang affiliations. He's been caught with robbery and
- 15:06Speaker 1: all that stuff. He, as I say, the neighbors say
- 15:09Speaker 1: he was menacing them with a machete. He is a
- 15:12Speaker 1: bad guy. When the police tried to arrest him, he
- 15:15Speaker 1: tried to run them over with his car. That would
- 15:17Speaker 1: be a villain. He would qualify as a villain. by
- 15:21Speaker 1: any rational definition. But they love Oscar. You're going to
- 15:25Speaker 1: hear a lot about this Oscar. You're going to see
- 15:28Speaker 1: Oscar t-shirts. They're going to build Oscar statues. You're going
- 15:32Speaker 1: to have Bruce Springsteen writing a song about Oscar. It's
- 15:36Speaker 1: not going to stop. It's just starting. Hey, we'll take
- 15:39Speaker 1: some calls next. 800-321-0710 is the number.
- 15:40Speaker 7: 800- 3-2-1-0-7-10.
- 15:45Speaker 1: The Mark Simone Show. Live from the WOR LifeVac Studios. Hey,
- 15:55Speaker 1: a whole bunch of open lines. Call us. 800-321-0710 is
- 15:58Speaker 1: the number. If you're a new caller, we want to
- 16:02Speaker 1: hear from you. 800-321-0710. Let's go to Kenneth in the Bronx. Kenneth,
- 16:09Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 16:10Speaker 7: Hey, Paul.
- 16:11Speaker 2: How are you?
- 16:11Speaker 6: Good.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Good, good.
- 16:13Speaker 7: Mark, I just wanted to comment and say, you know what?
- 16:15Speaker 7: The only person, only two people who can really save
- 16:18Speaker 7: New York, and New York is a mess with Mondani
- 16:21Speaker 7: along with Hochul. The only two people who can save
- 16:23Speaker 7: New York would be Blakeman and I can't think of
- 16:26Speaker 7: the lady's name again. It's Tish James. Oh, my gosh.
- 16:30Speaker 7: She obliterated her on the podium. Oh, my Jesus Christ.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Hey, hey, hey, hey. Watch your language. This is a
- 16:38Speaker 1: family show.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 16:39Speaker 7: I apologize.
- 16:40Speaker 1: That's okay. That's okay.
- 16:42Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 16:42Speaker 7: Yeah. You're absolutely right. Yeah, I'm sorry to cut you off,
- 16:46Speaker 7: and the thing is, too, I know I don't have
- 16:47Speaker 7: much time, but the thing is, I was just thinking,
- 16:50Speaker 7: me and some other guys here can get together here
- 16:53Speaker 7: and just get that vote out for Blakeman, because right
- 16:55Speaker 7: now in New York, listen, you know what, you might
- 16:58Speaker 7: vote for this guy Mondani, and I'll tell you something,
- 17:01Speaker 7: you know what, you got what your hand called for.
- 17:03Speaker 7: All right, but it's up to you.
- 17:05Speaker 1: You got to get out there and vote. You got
- 17:06Speaker 1: to get your friends and neighbors to go out there
- 17:08Speaker 1: and vote. You make sure everybody gets out there. to vote,
- 17:12Speaker 1: that can do it. So yeah, Blakeman, obviously you want
- 17:15Speaker 1: him to win. The other thing he's talking about is
- 17:19Speaker 1: the attorney general's race. It's a very strong Republican candidate.
- 17:24Speaker 1: She would be a great attorney general. The problem is
- 17:27Speaker 1: nobody can say her name. Nobody can remember her name.
- 17:29Speaker 1: It's like Saritha, nobody can pronounce, even she doesn't know
- 17:36Speaker 1: what her name is. It can't pronounce his name. But
- 17:39Speaker 1: Just go vote for the Republican for Attorney General. They
- 17:41Speaker 1: had a debate a couple nights ago on New York One.
- 17:45Speaker 1: Problem is what these Democrats do, they'll only go on
- 17:48Speaker 1: New York One because nobody sees it. It's hardly on anywhere.
- 17:52Speaker 1: But she wiped out Letitia James. She humiliated Letitia James
- 17:58Speaker 1: in this debate. It was brutal. Problem is New York One.
- 18:00Speaker 1: Who's going to see it? But you got to vote
- 18:03Speaker 1: for her. The Republican for Attorney General. Let's go to
- 18:07Speaker 1: Angelo in Staten Island. Angelo, how you doing?
- 18:10Speaker 5: Hey, Mark, how you doing?
- 18:12Speaker 1: Good.
- 18:12Speaker 5: I have a question. Commercials that you play, do you
- 18:15Speaker 5: guys realize that the one they play about California is
- 18:18Speaker 5: just like, wow, what is that?
- 18:20Speaker 1: Ah, you're right. What the hell is he talking about?
- 18:22Speaker 1: What are you talking about? What commercial?
- 18:25Speaker 5: The commercials on your station.
- 18:27Speaker 1: What commercial specifically are you talking about?
- 18:29Speaker 5: California is the greatest place on the face of the earth, one.
- 18:33Speaker 1: We have a commercial for California?
- 18:36Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 18:36Speaker 1: I didn't hear it.
- 18:38Speaker 6: Okay.
- 18:40Speaker 5: Well, listen to it. It's bad.
- 18:41Speaker 1: What's wrong with it?
- 18:42Speaker 5: I can't believe you're on the radio.
- 18:43Speaker 1: What's wrong with it?
- 18:46Speaker 5: It's California, and we all know it's insane. You just
- 18:49Speaker 5: said it yourself, how California.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Oh, I'm talking about if you try to run a
- 18:51Speaker 1: business there. But for a vacation, there's a lot of
- 18:53Speaker 1: great vacation spots in California. If it's a commercial for California,
- 18:57Speaker 1: it's California's tourist board or chamber of commerce. No, it's
- 19:01Speaker 1: a great place. You can still take a vacation there.
- 19:03Speaker 1: Just don't open a business there. But for a vacation... Great,
- 19:07Speaker 1: great place to go on a vacation. You ever been
- 19:08Speaker 1: to Carmel and all those beautiful places? Many, many, many
- 19:14Speaker 1: parts of California are gorgeous.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Okay.
- 19:18Speaker 8: All right.
- 19:19Speaker 5: Thanks, man.
- 19:20Speaker 7: All right.
- 19:22Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh, it's not even us. It's from the network.
- 19:27Speaker 1: It's a network spot. But, yeah, no, no. I would
- 19:31Speaker 1: visit California. Great place to go on a vacation. People
- 19:34Speaker 1: go there all the time, have a great time. Not
- 19:37Speaker 1: just Los Angeles or San Francisco, but most of California
- 19:41Speaker 1: is very beautiful and scenic. Just don't open a business
- 19:45Speaker 1: there right now. Let's go to Mark in Parsippany. Mark,
- 19:48Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 19:51Speaker 2: Hey, how you doing?
- 19:52Speaker 6: All right.
- 19:52Speaker 1: I'm good.
- 19:53Speaker 2: Oh, is this Mark Simone?
- 19:56Speaker 1: Let me check.
- 19:57Speaker 7: Yes, it is.
- 19:59Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 20:00Speaker 7: Hey, don't rush.
- 20:01Speaker 1: It's like I'm talking to Joe Biden here. Yeah. Whatever
- 20:04Speaker 1: happened to who?
- 20:06Speaker 7: Uh michael savage he used to be on the radio.
- 20:10Speaker 1: Oh michael savage yeah yeah michael savage he was quite
- 20:15Speaker 1: the popular talk show host about uh i don't know
- 20:18Speaker 1: 15 years ago 20 years ago he was a big
- 20:21Speaker 1: guy he was on wor he was here every night
- 20:24Speaker 1: like six to nine the savage nation remember that it
- 20:27Speaker 1: was a big show for many, many, many years. A
- 20:32Speaker 1: little crazy off the air, that guy. I mean, not
- 20:34Speaker 1: in a bad way. He's a nice guy, but a
- 20:37Speaker 1: brilliant guy, brilliant show. And it was on WOR for
- 20:41Speaker 1: many years. He stepped down from The Daily Show. He
- 20:43Speaker 1: stopped doing it. He does a podcast. You can go
- 20:47Speaker 1: online and find his podcast. You can listen to that.
- 20:51Speaker 1: President Trump is a fan. In fact, President Trump invited
- 20:56Speaker 1: him to dinner at Bedminster. I think if you go online,
- 21:00Speaker 1: you can find the videos of Savage. It's not long ago,
- 21:02Speaker 1: like a month ago, he had dinner with President Trump.
- 21:04Speaker 1: But you can get his podcast. I think it's a
- 21:08Speaker 1: once-a-week kind of deal. Let's go to Harold in Warwick. Harold,
- 21:12Speaker 1: how are you doing?
- 21:14Speaker 2: Hi, Mark.
- 21:15Speaker 8: Hopefully Blakeman makes it. I think he's really going to
- 21:20Speaker 8: do very well. But I met someone running in the
- 21:25Speaker 8: 75th District in New York City the other night. I
- 21:27Speaker 8: went to a fundraiser. Yeah. which is a district in Midtown, Westside,
- 21:33Speaker 8: Hell's Kitchen and those areas. Christina Fontanelli, the opera singer.
- 21:39Speaker 2: She's an amazing woman.
- 21:41Speaker 1: She's okay. But you got some good Republicans running. You
- 21:46Speaker 1: got also Caroline Schinkel in, I forget what district that is. It's,
- 21:55Speaker 1: I forget. But it doesn't matter. It's the Jerry Nadler district.
- 21:58Speaker 1: It's the Upper West Side, Upper East Side. Caroline Schinkel,
- 22:01Speaker 1: you want to vote for her. Most importantly, vote for Blakeman.
- 22:04Speaker 1: Most important thing is vote for this Attorney General, the
- 22:09Speaker 1: Republican candidate, because it's like Sarita Khatamedi. Nobody can say
- 22:13Speaker 1: the name, but when you see a name you can't
- 22:15Speaker 1: figure out, that's her. Republican candidate, Attorney General. She'd be phenomenal.
- 22:19Speaker 1: You got to get Letitia James out of there. That's
- 22:22Speaker 1: the most important thing. Hey, when we come back, the
- 22:25Speaker 1: great entertainment reporter, Roger Friedman. Lots to talk to him about,
- 22:30Speaker 1: and we'll get to that next on 710WOR.
- 22:34Speaker 8: What's better than two hours of Mark Simone?
- 22:37Speaker 6: Three.
- 22:38Speaker 1: The Mark Simone Show. Now nine till noon weekdays.
- 22:43Speaker 6: 710WOR.
- 22:45Speaker 1: Well, Roger Friedman, the great entertainment reporter, his website is showbiz411. com.
- 22:53Speaker 1: All kinds of news stories every day. Showbiz411. com. Roger Friedman,
- 22:58Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 22:59Speaker 4: Well, are you up to the news that's been going
- 23:02Speaker 4: on this morning from the White House?
- 23:04Speaker 1: Kimberly Guilfoyle resigning?
- 23:07Speaker 2: Well, she was asked to resign.
- 23:09Speaker 1: Well, she will by the end of the day.
- 23:13Speaker 4: And the new press secretary, Katie Zachariah, is getting a
- 23:17Speaker 4: lot of notice.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Yeah, she was very good. She's kept it short. Look good.
- 23:21Speaker 2: No, even, even the one house.
- 23:25Speaker 1: So we don't, we don't, we don't get into these
- 23:27Speaker 1: left wing, uh, attacks, these kooks.
- 23:30Speaker 2: We don't, I'm not attacking her. She was fine. I
- 23:32Speaker 2: want her to stay.
- 23:33Speaker 1: She was fine. Everybody was happy. Everybody was happy with her.
- 23:36Speaker 4: I want her, I want her to stay and, and
- 23:39Speaker 4: we can enjoy her time together.
- 23:40Speaker 1: Oh, good.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Um, I'm waiting for, yeah.
- 23:46Speaker 1: Tell me about Selma Blair.
- 23:47Speaker 4: Um, Oh, poor Selma Blair. You know, she has multiple sclerosis.
- 23:52Speaker 4: And she's really been suffering for years.
- 23:55Speaker 1: And I don't know.
- 23:56Speaker 4: She's had all kinds of medications and procedures and all
- 24:02Speaker 4: kinds of things to keep her going. And she's a mess.
- 24:06Speaker 4: And it's like torture. And then she's on a plane
- 24:10Speaker 4: and she's drinking, of course, because you're nervous about flying.
- 24:14Speaker 4: So you have a couple of drinks and the drinks
- 24:16Speaker 4: interact with the medicine from the M.S., And suddenly she's
- 24:19Speaker 4: biting people. And it's crazy. I mean, she obviously shouldn't
- 24:24Speaker 4: be allowed on a plane anymore.
- 24:25Speaker 1: You think that simply drinking and pills, it could cause us,
- 24:28Speaker 1: you know, you could pass out. You could do it.
- 24:31Speaker 1: Could it make you do this? Can it really cause that?
- 24:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess it can. I mean, I don't know.
- 24:41Speaker 4: She's, you know, it's we don't have MS and it's
- 24:44Speaker 4: a serious thing. We're laughing about it, but it's very serious.
- 24:48Speaker 4: And it's very painful. And God knows what's done to
- 24:51Speaker 4: her brain. And she's constantly announcing that she's in remission
- 24:55Speaker 4: and trying to get work.
- 24:56Speaker 2: But can you imagine living like that? It's terrible.
- 24:59Speaker 4: So they're not going to be any serious penalties for it.
- 25:03Speaker 4: I mean, she'll apologize. She'll pay some little fine. But
- 25:07Speaker 4: it was a slow news day yesterday. So when this happened,
- 25:12Speaker 4: it became the main story everywhere. But it's a ridiculous story.
- 25:16Speaker 2: And it's sad. We have to have some empathy for
- 25:19Speaker 2: these people.
- 25:19Speaker 1: I know, but if you're a famous person and you
- 25:21Speaker 1: get in a fight at the airport and you yell
- 25:23Speaker 1: at somebody, somebody records the video, it goes viral. But
- 25:25Speaker 1: if you bite somebody and she punched the stewardess so
- 25:28Speaker 1: hard and sent her to the hospital.
- 25:29Speaker 2: Maybe she was hungry.
- 25:30Speaker 1: But the stewardess ended up in the hospital, the flight attendant.
- 25:34Speaker 1: This was bad.
- 25:36Speaker 2: It's bad. It's bad.
- 25:38Speaker 4: But, you know, you've got to have some empathy for her.
- 25:41Speaker 4: And like I say, she'll pay some fines. And she's
- 25:45Speaker 4: not going to jail, obviously. And it's amazing that she's
- 25:48Speaker 4: still alive, to tell you the truth. And God knows
- 25:51Speaker 4: what she's doing to keep that up. But she's always been–
- 25:56Speaker 4: I've met her a few times. She's always been a
- 25:59Speaker 4: nice person. And this thing is a terrible curveball for
- 26:04Speaker 4: anybody who gets it. So I can't be too critical.
- 26:08Speaker 4: The multiple sclerosis ward at the hospital, you'll never hear.
- 26:11Speaker 2: Yeah. You might. I don't know.
- 26:15Speaker 1: I don't know. We've got to talk to some doctors.
- 26:19Speaker 2: But that's a good audio for a good horror movie.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Yeah, actually, it's the shower scene in Psycho.
- 26:29Speaker 2: Is it?
- 26:30Speaker 1: No, that's her. That's her on the plane.
- 26:32Speaker 4: It might be the sound Katie Zachariah is going to
- 26:34Speaker 4: make at the White House podium tomorrow.
- 26:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm afraid you left-wingers aren't going to get very
- 26:40Speaker 1: far with that.
- 26:42Speaker 4: No, it's not a left-winger, right-wing thing. This girl was hysterical.
- 26:46Speaker 4: She reminded me of Lonnie Anderson in the first episode
- 26:49Speaker 4: of WKRP.
- 26:50Speaker 1: It'd never be as bad as Jen Psaki. That was
- 26:53Speaker 1: the worst.
- 26:55Speaker 2: She wasn't good either.
- 26:55Speaker 1: The really dumb one, the real stupid one. Who was that?
- 26:58Speaker 1: What was her name? Kareem John.
- 26:59Speaker 2: Sean Spicer.
- 27:00Speaker 1: No, Kareem John. No, Spicer's a great politician. People pay
- 27:04Speaker 1: Spicer a fortune for advice. Do they? The dumb one.
- 27:10Speaker 1: Kareem Jean-Pierre, whatever her name was. No, no, no.
- 27:14Speaker 2: McDonaghy.
- 27:15Speaker 1: No, Kareem Jean-Pierre. It was nice, but IQ like 80 maybe. Anyway,
- 27:21Speaker 1: let's get to... Anyway, let's get back.
- 27:24Speaker 4: To Tom Cruise. Digger is being pulled out of theaters.
- 27:28Speaker 4: If you want to see it, you better see it
- 27:29Speaker 4: in the next couple of days.
- 27:32Speaker 1: So tell me about that. Also, why did The Social Reckoning,
- 27:35Speaker 1: this big new movie, why did that not do so well?
- 27:39Speaker 4: Social Reckoning is a problem. There's no reason for it.
- 27:43Speaker 4: There's no reason for the movie. It's not a sequel
- 27:46Speaker 4: to The Social Network. It has nothing to do with
- 27:48Speaker 4: The Social Network, which was a hit movie. They sort
- 27:52Speaker 4: of marketed it that way. And in the movie, The
- 27:57Speaker 4: Social Reckoning, a lot of leaps of logic are made.
- 28:01Speaker 4: One of them is that Facebook somehow caused January 6th
- 28:04Speaker 4: to happen, which by the time they get to this thing,
- 28:08Speaker 4: the movie, you're like, come on, really? So there's a
- 28:12Speaker 4: lot of logic that's missing from the film. And it's
- 28:15Speaker 4: supposed to be like a procedural, like, you know, Spotlight
- 28:18Speaker 4: was a great movie about the priests and the sexual abuse.
- 28:22Speaker 4: And there's a big gotcha moment where they reveal everything.
- 28:25Speaker 4: You've got to have like a big gotcha moment in
- 28:27Speaker 4: a procedural way. or it's not going to work. And
- 28:30Speaker 4: there's no moment like that in this movie. It's just
- 28:33Speaker 4: a very talky movie. It's Jeremy Allen White and Mikey Madison,
- 28:37Speaker 4: who are very nice, talking to each other and making
- 28:40Speaker 4: a big deal out of the fact that Facebook has
- 28:43Speaker 4: no ethics. Well, surprise, we know that. We didn't know
- 28:47Speaker 4: that when the social network came out. It was new then.
- 28:50Speaker 4: But now we've lived with it for a long time,
- 28:52Speaker 4: so we know what the story is. And just the
- 28:55Speaker 4: fact that you're revealing that is not the... the foundation
- 28:58Speaker 4: for a whole movie. So there's not much going on
- 29:01Speaker 4: in this movie. And by the time it gets to
- 29:04Speaker 4: the end, and they're sort of blaming Mark Zuckerberg, who's
- 29:07Speaker 4: not a very sympathetic character in real life, sort of
- 29:10Speaker 4: comes off sympathetically in the movie because he's being blamed
- 29:15Speaker 4: for January 6th rioting at the Capitol. Well, I mean,
- 29:19Speaker 4: a lot of people are to blame for that, and
- 29:21Speaker 4: he's not alone. So I don't think you can really
- 29:24Speaker 4: put it on his shoulders. all the social media platforms
- 29:28Speaker 4: were buzzing with people encouraging the insurrection on January 6th.
- 29:33Speaker 1: Well, there was no insurrection.
- 29:34Speaker 7: No, no.
- 29:34Speaker 1: It was like a party that went wrong. No, but
- 29:40Speaker 1: if you read the 2,400 charges, and they hit everybody
- 29:44Speaker 1: with everything, nobody was charged with insurrection.
- 29:46Speaker 2: Nobody.
- 29:47Speaker 7: Okay.
- 29:47Speaker 1: Trespassing, criminals.
- 29:49Speaker 2: It was just a bad time.
- 29:50Speaker 1: No, they were charged with trespassing, disorderly conduct, disruption of
- 29:54Speaker 1: a government function. You could have charged somebody with an erection,
- 29:58Speaker 1: and they decided nobody.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Well, there was.
- 30:00Speaker 7: All right.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Let's say just I like that disruption of government function.
- 30:03Speaker 2: I like that.
- 30:03Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 30:04Speaker 1: It was the worst trespassing incident probably of our lifetime.
- 30:08Speaker 8: Yeah. Yeah.
- 30:10Speaker 7: So.
- 30:11Speaker 8: Yeah. All right.
- 30:12Speaker 1: Hey, regardless.
- 30:14Speaker 2: But regardless, it wasn't I'm not defending.
- 30:19Speaker 4: I feel like I'm defending Facebook, but there's no you
- 30:22Speaker 4: can't just blame one. organization on, on the thing happening.
- 30:26Speaker 4: As they always say, you asked me why the social
- 30:28Speaker 4: reckoning didn't do well. And I'm saying, yeah, it's because it's,
- 30:31Speaker 4: it's unbelievable.
- 30:32Speaker 1: That's a good point. They always say everything with human
- 30:35Speaker 1: behavior is the same as it always was. It just
- 30:37Speaker 1: moves to a different medium. You know, it, right. In
- 30:40Speaker 1: the old days, it would have been messages passed around.
- 30:42Speaker 1: Now it's Facebook where people organize, uh, it's the same behavior.
- 30:46Speaker 1: Bullying used to be, it's like.
- 30:48Speaker 4: When they used to say, you know, violence on TV
- 30:50Speaker 4: was making people, you know, crazy and do things. And
- 30:54Speaker 4: just because you had an episode of Law & Order,
- 30:56Speaker 4: somebody was going to go out and do the same
- 30:58Speaker 4: thing that a criminal was going to do.
- 31:00Speaker 2: It doesn't work.
- 31:02Speaker 1: Hey, before we run out of time, is this true
- 31:06Speaker 1: that there's AI music, which artificial intelligence created the music,
- 31:09Speaker 1: that's actually doing well on the charts?
- 31:13Speaker 4: You know, well, it's doing well on the iTunes chart
- 31:16Speaker 4: because iTunes is very easy to manipulate. So the AI
- 31:23Speaker 4: people have figured out a way to manipulate that chart.
- 31:26Speaker 4: But the music's not being played anywhere. And it's not
- 31:31Speaker 4: on Spotify. It's not being streamed. But it looks like
- 31:35Speaker 4: it's a hit from downloading. So this has become a
- 31:39Speaker 4: big problem. And the other problem, you know, we could
- 31:42Speaker 4: discuss AI for a whole segment if we wanted to.
- 31:45Speaker 4: We have more and more people embracing it because they're
- 31:47Speaker 4: afraid of it. Uh, so you have, uh, iTunes is
- 31:51Speaker 4: embracing it and you have even, uh, movie people are
- 31:55Speaker 4: starting to say, well, we'll mix a movie with some
- 31:57Speaker 4: AI in it. This is a big mistake. Uh, I
- 32:01Speaker 4: think it's going to come back to bite them in
- 32:03Speaker 4: the end.
- 32:03Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 32:04Speaker 4: But yeah, there's a, right now there's like three or
- 32:06Speaker 4: four singles in the top iTunes top 10 that are, uh,
- 32:10Speaker 4: all made out of nothing made out of fiction.
- 32:13Speaker 2: They're, they're computerized, but it's a dream singer. There's no song.
- 32:17Speaker 1: Yeah, but that's a dream for a movie company or
- 32:19Speaker 1: music company. You don't have to spend any money. You
- 32:20Speaker 1: can get it all done on AI.
- 32:22Speaker 4: No, and you don't have to be able to play
- 32:24Speaker 4: an instrument or act or do anything. You just write
- 32:28Speaker 4: in a prompt on your computer and say, please give
- 32:30Speaker 4: me this, which is a scary new world, I think.
- 32:37Speaker 4: We don't want to have them say, give me a
- 32:39Speaker 4: great radio personality in the morning, and they just invent somebody.
- 32:44Speaker 2: We can't do that. We have to have the real thing.
- 32:46Speaker 1: That's true, but if you don't want to spend $ 2
- 32:48Speaker 1: million on scenery, you could just have AI do it
- 32:50Speaker 1: for you. So I could see where... Do you have
- 32:52Speaker 1: $ 2 million in scenery behind you? No, but I'm talking
- 32:55Speaker 1: about a movie. Do you know how much money they
- 32:57Speaker 1: would save? You don't need to hire 1,000 extras. You
- 33:00Speaker 1: don't need to build all these sets.
- 33:02Speaker 2: No, but then we're living.
- 33:03Speaker 4: But then Elon Musk says we're living in a simulation,
- 33:06Speaker 4: and maybe he's right.
- 33:07Speaker 1: Yeah, could be.
- 33:08Speaker 4: We're just living in a simulation of what used to be.
- 33:11Speaker 1: No, that could be.
- 33:12Speaker 2: That's not good.
- 33:13Speaker 1: You know what.
- 33:16Speaker 4: What did Marvin Gaye and Tammy Terrell say? Ain't nothing
- 33:18Speaker 4: like the real thing.
- 33:20Speaker 1: There you go. Now we have to explain to a
- 33:21Speaker 1: lot of people who's Marvin Gaye, Tammy Terrell. Half the
- 33:24Speaker 1: people working on this floor won't know who those two are.
- 33:26Speaker 1: But go listen to it.
- 33:28Speaker 6: All right.
- 33:28Speaker 1: Well, we'll explain it to them later. We're out of time, though.
- 33:30Speaker 1: But Roger Friedman, great stuff as always. Everybody go read
- 33:33Speaker 1: his website.
- 33:34Speaker 2: Great talking to you.
- 33:35Speaker 1: Showbiz411. com. Showbiz411. com. There's a lot more stories up there, too.
- 33:41Speaker 1: Roger Friedman, thanks for being with us.
- 33:43Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 33:44Speaker 1: Take care. Hey, don't forget, Buck and Clay will be
- 33:46Speaker 1: here at noon today with a great show. Then at noon,
- 33:50Speaker 1: it's the most listened to radio show in America, Sean Hannity.
- 33:53Speaker 1: Sean's back. He'll be on today at 3 o'clock. And
- 33:57Speaker 1: then at 6 o'clock, you've got Jesse Kelly, the very
- 34:00Speaker 1: funny Jimmy Fallon, tonight at 9 here on 710WOR. The
- 34:04Speaker 1: Mark Simone Show.
- 34:06Speaker 2: Mark Simone.
- 34:07Speaker 1: On 710WOR. Well, hey, the fake news is trying to
- 34:12Speaker 1: convince all the left-wingers that Katie Zakaria, oh, it was disaster.
- 34:17Speaker 1: What a disaster, the first press conference. We'll go over
- 34:20Speaker 1: that coming up right after the news. And one more
- 34:23Speaker 1: hour to go here on 710WOR.
