- 0:00[SPEAKER_04]: How much money have you made with podcasting?
- 0:03[SPEAKER_10]: Um, millions, man.
- 0:04[SPEAKER_10]: Over to millions for sure.
- 0:05[SPEAKER_04]: I think the biggest thing I feel like people feel is it's over saturated or it's kind of late to start.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_10]: Oh, it's so early.
- 0:14[SPEAKER_10]: Every single media platform was said to be oversaturated.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_10]: Every single one of them.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_10]: Most of the money for advertising was going to radio.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_10]: Podcasting is taking a lot of that away.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_10]: It's now a billion dollar industry.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_10]: The all in that sea, what's happening here?
- 0:28[SPEAKER_10]: Like, if you start now,
- 0:30[SPEAKER_10]: But at the time, I'm at a thousand episodes, you'll be at 500 episodes, there's going to be somebody that's about to start, it says, oh, I missed it.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_10]: Let's just start now, start building trust and then everywhere you go.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_10]: People are going to say, oh, I love that episode.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_10]: I am a way better communicator.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_10]: 500 something episodes later.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_10]: You become a much better communicator and I'm telling you, it's the communicators of the world who make the most money.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_04]: If someone was looking to start their podcast, how would you encourage them to start?
- 1:00[SPEAKER_10]: Listen, okay, let me tell you how we go about this.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_04]: David, welcome back to the department.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_04]: Shout out to the live audience, cup it up, live audience.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_04]: Just so people I love you, dude.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_04]: I love this, bro.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_04]: Just so people care to listen to this conversation.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_04]: How much money have you made with podcasting?
- 1:29[SPEAKER_10]: Millions, man.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, over eight figures.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_10]: Not over eight figures.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_10]: Over eight figures.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_10]: Over eight figures.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_10]: Over eight figures.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_04]: over ten million for sure over ten million dollars podcasting over the course of how long um six years about six years so if that does not get your attention there's probably another conversation about how to make a hundred million dollars of the podcast I don't know who would have it but could could you back up because like I think the biggest thing I feel like people feel is it's over saturated
- 2:05[SPEAKER_04]: or it's kind of late to start.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_10]: Oh, it's so early, but if you don't know the story of different media platforms, every single media platform was said to be oversaturated, every single one of them.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_10]: So people are going from like the news, the reading and newspapers, that's what they get their information, and then the radio starts to emerge, and people's like, why would
- 2:36[SPEAKER_10]: And I said that the radio is going to make people dumb because it's going to lower the literacy rate because nobody's going to read anymore.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_10]: There was like 25 stations total and they said, wow, radio is oversaturated.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_10]: Read about it.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_06]: Crazy.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_10]: So then we're in the era of radio and then TV emerges.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_10]: And there was actually people that were fighting against TV, people that were shooting like movies at this time.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_10]: They said that TV was going to be the dumbing down of America.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_10]: They might have been right.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_10]: But.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_10]: There weren't, there was like 30, 40 stations, and they said it was over-saturated so much.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_10]: So that FDR created a system where, because there were too many TV stations popping up, they had to suppress it and give licenses out, and they determined who gets the license, because they said that TV was over-saturated with a 40 stations.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_10]: They said, all of the money that's going into the TV station now will be too disseminated and nobody will make money.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_10]: They actually thought TV was a Fed.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_10]: They thought it would come and go.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_10]: They said it'd be out of here soon because who would want to watch TV?
- 3:49[SPEAKER_10]: They said, why would you want to watch TV when you can listen to your news?
- 3:53[SPEAKER_10]: They said it was oversaturated.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_10]: They said, get this.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_10]: The internet would be a passing Fed.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_10]: was oversaturated with too many websites.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_10]: every single thing, but here's the key, the people that when they said radio was over saturated and they started, they like leaned into radio became the voices of the generation.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_10]: The people who leaned into TV, movie stars didn't even want to do TV because they thought it was a lesser form of entertainment.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_10]: So it was like, yeah, we're not doing TV, but the people who like really jumped in and leaned into TV,
- 4:37[SPEAKER_10]: became the voices of generation became multi-millionaires, became stars, every single platform on just mark my words is happening again.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_10]: There are people who say, oh, blogging is too oversaturated.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_10]: The people leaned into blogs.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_10]: They became multi-millionaires because now I can go on the internet and I can post what I want and it democratize the dissemination of
- 5:08[SPEAKER_10]: Most of the money for advertising, like 90% of the money that's in advertising was going to radio.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_10]: Podcasting is taking a lot of that away, it's now a billion dollar industry.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_10]: But before it hit the billion dollar, they said it was what, over a century.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_10]: It keeps growing.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_10]: The all not see what's happening here?
- 5:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_10]: But how if you were going to drop an album 15 years ago?
- 5:35[SPEAKER_10]: How would you do it?
- 5:36[SPEAKER_10]: Like if you were a celebrity, how would you drop your alcohol?
- 5:38[SPEAKER_10]: What would you do for promotion?
- 5:41[SPEAKER_04]: I would drop a single like two months out, look that hit the radio.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_10]: You got to do the radio run.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_10]: They're not even going to the radio at all anymore.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_04]: Dang.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_10]: Think like think about that.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_10]: Think about the last time you heard a radio interview with Drake or Jay Z.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_10]: Because not the breakfast club which by the way is a podcast.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_10]: They're gonna go to breakfast club and then they're going to Jay Z.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_10]: Just did a GQ interview.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_10]: What did it look like though?
- 6:18[SPEAKER_10]: Wasn't a radio interview?
- 6:19[SPEAKER_10]: It wasn't a television talk show.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_10]: If we can't see what's happening based on every celebrity, early in the years, are starting podcasts?
- 6:29[SPEAKER_04]: I have one that people are going to judge me with.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_10]: Come on.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_04]: Hannah Montana, 20th Anniversary.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_10]: Bruh.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_04]: It was a podcast.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_10]: Come on.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_04]: It's crazy.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, we don't hear.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_10]: This is a new normal.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_10]: It's not even, it hasn't started yet.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so I wrote down the opportunity is in the oversaturation and I think that's just encouraging, but you could still feel lost in the sea of things, so just very quickly could you break down if someone was looking to start their podcast, how would you encourage them to start?
- 7:06[SPEAKER_04]: You got people with videos, you got people with audios.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_04]: We got AI that it could
- 7:12[SPEAKER_10]: for sure.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_10]: I would reframe it, not start your podcast, but I would say, let's start talking to our audience in a way that they want to be talked to.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_10]: So if you're going to go deep with an audience, you're not going to start talking to them through 30 second history and clips or TikTok dances or the reds.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_10]: I mean, you could write the reds.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_10]: I like the reds as cool because it reaches a whole other audience, but even if you go viral on the reds, it doesn't grow your following.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_10]: If you go viral today, they don't even hit the subscribe button anymore.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_10]: It doesn't really change your following like that.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_10]: It's definitely not going to make you any money.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_10]: So I say, let's think about our audience.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_10]: And let's put a message, a messaging mix together.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_10]: You need some long form content so that your audience can grow with you and go deeper with you.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_10]: You got to take some of that and give them short form.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_10]: Got to show up or short form clips as well.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_10]: You got to show up on threads, writing the things that you think they're going to enjoy.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_10]: And then have an offer for them.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_10]: That's how it started.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_04]: Good.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_04]: So if you have an offer for them, it's funny because I know all the answers.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_04]: I'm just trying to play the guy, and I'm like, where do I win it with you?
- 8:26[SPEAKER_04]: Because I sponsored my own podcast when I started my podcast and it's how it made it a six-figure podcast within less than a year's time.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_10]: Well, it doesn't have to be an interview.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_10]: We could just educate.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_10]: Because some of us don't know.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_10]: Anybody have a podcast right now?
- 8:42[SPEAKER_10]: Anyone frustrated with your podcast at the moment?
- 8:44[SPEAKER_04]: Dude, I'm frustrated.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_10]: No, I am.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_10]: You're killing me.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_10]: I mean, probably.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_04]: The algorithm's wacko for sure.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_10]: But here's how I like to remote most part.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_10]: People start their podcast based off of a good idea and you run it because a good idea.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_10]: You come up with a cool name at a show and you decide whether you're going to interview people or just do a co-host or whatever.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_10]: And then you're running it, and then running it, and then 15 episodes in, or 10 episodes in, you try to ask yourself the question, how is this thing going to make some money?
- 9:16[SPEAKER_10]: That's how you started.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_10]: I don't even know you.
- 9:18[UNKNOWN]: I don't even know you.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_10]: I say we start with the product or service first.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_10]: What is the offering?
- 9:27[SPEAKER_10]: What do we sell it?
- 9:28[SPEAKER_10]: Let's just not be afraid of the sale.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_10]: What are we selling?
- 9:32[SPEAKER_10]: And then we wrap a pie cast around that as a marketing arm for the thing that we're gonna sell.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_10]: And if we're gonna sell candles, okay, I got this great idea to sell candles.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_10]: What is the audience of people that buy candles?
- 9:43[SPEAKER_10]: Good.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_10]: Maybe I'll talk about self-love, self-love pie cast.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_10]: It's gonna be dope.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_10]: And I'm going to be talking about this message for the people we're gonna buy these candles.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_10]: That's how it starts.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_04]: Great.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_04]: What I've seen people tend to do, especially entrepreneurs, is because they're so close to their product or their offer, they make the podcasts their offer.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_04]: So I met in a mastermind, this person has a VA staffing agency.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_04]: So then she was like, I'm just like not really breaking through.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_04]: I was like, what's your podcast about?
- 10:16[SPEAKER_04]: She said, it's about VA's and how to run VA's.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_04]: Well,
- 10:22[SPEAKER_04]: You literally have a podcast about the answer or your offer.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_04]: Why don't you make your podcast about scaling your business?
- 10:31[SPEAKER_04]: And then it opens up the conversation.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_04]: And everyone who's scaling a business may consider having a VA, but having the direct, it'd be the thing where I'm, I'm going to have a Candle's podcast.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to have a self-love podcast or a home interior design podcast.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_04]: You know, a cha-chiki podcast, who knows what, you know, cha-chiki is like those things you put on shelves to make it look cool.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_04]: Things you would put in the back of a podcast set on a shelf.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_04]: But I think that's really good.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_04]: It's creating broad appeal.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_04]: So what else does your audience, even though that's what you sell, what else would your audience be into?
- 11:08[SPEAKER_04]: We have a restaurant owners here.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_04]: Mmm.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_04]: So what's, what kind of restaurant is that after this?
- 11:15[SPEAKER_04]: Uh, I don't know.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_04]: You brought burritos.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, dude, let's go.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_04]: You're the man.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_04]: So it's a Mexican restaurant.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_03]: No, no, no.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_03]: So it's actually a voucher restaurant when we do all sorts of voucher burritos.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, no way, a voucher burritos.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_03]: Full plate, you put it in a voucher's hand.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_03]: Dude, it's good stuff.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_04]: I don't like that.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_04]: But you probably crush it with short form because that's like what the local business would do.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_04]: Do you see the opportunity of potentially having a podcast?
- 11:40[SPEAKER_04]: So actually, do you have a... Well, dude, I mean, I didn't mean to go straight into Q&A or kind of vibes like this.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_04]: Here, can you hear me around that?
- 11:49[SPEAKER_04]: Hey department fan, pausing the podcast to talk about this life-changing sponsorship.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_04]: It's me.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_04]: I'm sponsoring the podcast and the sponsor of this podcast is the content to cast challenge, which is a five-day live.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_04]: coaching experience.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_04]: I put on for creators, entrepreneurs, coaches, consultants, and service providers.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_04]: If you feel like you're stuck in business or maybe there's more to business and to revenue, I'm telling you that you don't have an offer problem, you don't have an industry problem and you probably don't even have a sales problem.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_04]: What you have is an awareness problem.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_04]: And this is why I have the content to cast challenge because I believe transformation happens on a two way street.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_04]: And how do you know if you're the
- 12:32[SPEAKER_04]: you're listening to this podcast.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_04]: This is for you, this is your moment.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_04]: So to take the challenge or jump on the wait list, scan the QR code on the screen or check out the link down in the description below.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_04]: Let's get back into the conversation.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_04]: But hey, we got a live podcast.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_04]: I might not.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_04]: I call this bullet proofing the content.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_03]: So I do have a podcast, it's called Rich All Food, and basically we interview restauranters and other people in the space.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_03]: But I've been doing, so about a year ago, we were doing it in studio, full camera setups and everything like that.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_03]: But it was difficult to get the restaurant owners to the studio, so I said, do you know what?
- 13:07[SPEAKER_03]: Let's do it at the restaurant, either their restaurant or mine.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_03]: And so now, you know, we completely took out the studio part.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_03]: I do still pay for a videographer.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_03]: And then we just bring people there and basically it's a live audience as well.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_03]: And so I've done two of those so far.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_03]: We're doing the third one next week.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_03]: That's really good.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, absolutely.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_04]: Club it up.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, the reason why I bring this up is because I think people will disqualify themselves because maybe their product is too niche.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, you know, we have people in real estate.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_04]: But you're saying, just really think about what else the audience would like to learn or talk about.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_10]: There should be clear on the audience of people.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_10]: I mean, everybody has a product.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_10]: And it's not that the podcast has to be directly related to the product.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_10]: It just has to be directly related to the audience of people by that type of product.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_10]: So I can be another, let's just say, we're, um, I don't know.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_10]: Our goal, our restaurant in New Jersey and my goal is to drive traffic to the restaurant.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_10]: Well, if I don't know, I don't know, if I'm doing southern food or southern cuisine or something like that, maybe I have a podcast where I'm interviewing grandmothers about cool stories.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_10]: It might city, it might town, like these people won't get the highlights.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_10]: Who's interviewing someone's grandmother?
- 14:35[SPEAKER_10]: But guess what?
- 14:35[SPEAKER_10]: They got some cool stories over last 70 years, 80.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_10]: They got, they got stories, real stories that like I want to know what it was like to cook back in the day.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_10]: Well, what was family like back in the day?
- 14:49[SPEAKER_10]: We got a whole podcast about family.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_10]: And when you come into the restaurant, we have a family feel.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_10]: So I'm not saying we need to start a podcast because this is a good idea.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_10]: Whatever it is, services.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_10]: Let's build out an audience of people who care about traditional family values.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_10]: And in my city, people will come.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_10]: So come to see it.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_04]: I love it that it's like an indirect approach and that builds community.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_04]: That's even creating more impact outside of the local situation because those stories will resonate in all, in all, in all, in all, in all, in all.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_04]: How have you not gotten bored or burnt out from being a podcast or for so long?
- 15:31[SPEAKER_10]: Um, I am bored and burnt out, I have bored and burnt out as the dad, my kids don't listen to me, I got no home training, I'm like, bro, what's up?
- 15:43[SPEAKER_10]: They just, they do what they want, bro, it's like my,
- 15:46[SPEAKER_10]: So it just takes his pants off.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_10]: There's no public.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_10]: Right?
- 15:50[SPEAKER_10]: Like, just take the pants off.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_10]: Right?
- 15:53[SPEAKER_00]: It's life.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_10]: It's life.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_10]: It's like nobody asked the person who's worked their job for 15 years.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_10]: How do you not get bored at the job?
- 16:00[SPEAKER_10]: It's like, you know, it's my job.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_10]: That's what I do.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_10]: And I get an opportunity to have unique conversations every single day.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_10]: It like really gives.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_10]: me something look forward to what I mean.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_10]: So it's not we all get bored or burned out with whatever whatever we're doing.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_10]: I've got bored with podcasting so I started this series called Hot See where I just cook a entrepreneur for like 45 minutes that doesn't know what they're doing.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_10]: That's fun to me.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_10]: And then I just talked to my friend.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_10]: He's been on my path maybe like two or three times.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_10]: And every single time he comes on just like 60,000 views.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_10]: And I was like, hey, let's because he talks financial literacy.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_10]: He's really good with credit cards and stuff like that.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_10]: I said, man, I want to start talking about that stuff specifically.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_10]: So I said, let's just start every Friday show.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_10]: He's like, all right, cool.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_10]: So I get to talk about money with someone that I like every single Friday and it makes me money.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_10]: So again, it starts doing the first I'm excited about that so you can you can mix up your content It's not like you have to sit in a chair.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_10]: I just drop another vlog.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_10]: My vlogs don't get like the greatest views But in the comments there was like five people today when we dropped it like you know we need more vlogs We were like I like I'm gonna drop it
- 17:14[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, no, I love that you give yourself the permission for it to not look a certain way.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_04]: And you know, even just knowing that things could be seasonal.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_04]: But my mind always goes to the benefits and the benefits of that friend of yours who knows credit and money and investing, they're getting blessed by that opportunity.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_04]: That could be an offer.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_04]: If maybe you had the means to create content and you wanted to platform somebody for a season,
- 17:48[SPEAKER_04]: Does any, I mean, or it could be relational and then now your friendship goes to the next level.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_04]: That's like priceless.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_04]: My wife listens to a podcast where it's seasonal, like how long will it go?
- 18:02[SPEAKER_04]: The Candace Cameron one.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_04]: It's like, yeah, eight, 12 weeks with the same guest, and then a break happens and then they move on.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_04]: Have you ever taken a break from podcasting and then came back with like a venue?
- 18:16[SPEAKER_10]: In the beginning, in the beginning, because that wasn't podcasting.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_10]: I didn't know what podcasting was, I was just interviewing people.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_10]: So I've started my podcast because I was doing a conference and the tickets weren't selling.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_10]: So I was like, I'm going to interview some of the speakers and hopefully the people like the person that I'm interviewing and they'll buy tickets.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_10]: So you see them earlier episodes.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_10]: I like my first aid episode, it starts out with, hey, I don't have a name for this yet, but we're going to have a really good conversation.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_10]: They're like,
- 18:47[SPEAKER_10]: And they start thought around names and stuff, oh my, and then we get into the conversation, and people like it, and at the end, you'll say, all right, if you like this conversation, Omar is going to be at the summit, July 2nd and 3rd, that'll make sure you get your tickets to late.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_10]: So, it wasn't podcasting, because I didn't know what podcast was.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_10]: It seemed like a good idea to market my business.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_09]: That was it.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_10]: So, um,
- 19:10[SPEAKER_10]: it's been it's been a really cool journey and I want to not talk about the like the external benefits of podcasts even if you want to get a view or a dollar from it.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_10]: It's a couple really important reasons while we need to do this.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_10]: I am a way better communicator.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_10]: A 500-something episodes later.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_10]: And some of you need to start a podcast.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_10]: Just so you have something to say and go deeper in a conversation every single week, because you don't talk about the thing until you talk about it, or somebody brings it up that you have a conversation, right?
- 19:42[SPEAKER_10]: And you like it, you enjoy it, but when you're forced,
- 19:44[SPEAKER_10]: To come up with something every single day, or you get a chance to talk to somebody with a different experience about your topic You become a much better communicator, and I'm telling you is the communicators of the world who make the most money You might start a podcast to improve your ability to communicate and get a raise at your job Because you're more effective with conversations and navigating conversations and problems solving and I feel comfortable I can't wait for Omar to say something disagree with I'm comfortable disagree with them
- 20:14[SPEAKER_10]: It's no harm, no file, I used it in the beginning.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_10]: I'm like, ooh, I don't remember your statement.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_10]: Oh, man, that was a really good answer.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_10]: And do not ask the questions.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_10]: And then navigating our conversation, the ability to communicate if we don't develop nothing else.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_10]: I think that will pay you more than anything else.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_04]: So good.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_04]: That's fire.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_10]: I don't even know what those are.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_10]: Answer your question.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_10]: What was your question?
- 20:36[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if I had one.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_04]: Then we just went on a YAP trail.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_04]: We're here, but it's just so good because I want people to feel empowered to do it and do it their way.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_04]: I'm grateful.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_04]: I had you as a reference.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_04]: I filmed a few podcasts as a form of an upload on think media when I was creating content forum.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_04]: And I realized that was just a content format.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_04]: That was just a way to show up.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_04]: But the,
- 21:03[SPEAKER_04]: Someone who's in business, I found the most, I'd rather have less people listen or watch a podcast than more people consume a very high-produced piece of video because the connection won't be there.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_04]: My, for the lack of better terminology, my celebrity has grown like crazy when I didn't think leaving a platform of over 3 million subscribers to then starting almost from scratch, and having 150,000 subs and a couple thousand streams a week, the depth and people feel like they know me.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_04]: And
- 21:45[SPEAKER_04]: in a world where we're living in a trust recession, I'm so happy that in that time I was going I was zagging while everybody was digging that I was saying and I would say it's at still the case it most people get awkward talking for 20, 30, 40 minutes but breaking through that awkward and being okay with it I mean we're talking with the AI revolution comes the anti-AI resolution
- 22:15[SPEAKER_04]: I can't do this and then I'm seeing heads nod and I'm there's a guy who wants to rest from on so many in real estate Someone who's a PR agent so I say all that to say it's just one of the most powerful ways to create a connection internally externally eternally come on somebody Yeah, so It's been wanting to start a podcast, but you just haven't heard.
- 22:39[SPEAKER_10]: I love that whatever reason
- 22:41[SPEAKER_04]: You've been overthinking, can we hand the mic right over here?
- 22:44[SPEAKER_04]: Do you feel, is it cool if we put you on the spot, my guy?
- 22:46[SPEAKER_04]: The number one question I usually get asked by people like you is, Omar, how the heck?
- 22:51[SPEAKER_04]: Does your videos look and sounds so dang crispy?
- 22:54[SPEAKER_04]: Well, the reality is, it's the equipment I use and you'd be surprised how inexpensive it could actually be.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_04]: So I've compiled all my gear and I've updated the list and I want to give it to you.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_04]: So if you're listening or watching this, just hit the description box below and I'll send you my gear guide for every budget and let's get back into the conversation.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_04]: go ahead and introduce yourself.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_04]: What do you do?
- 23:13[SPEAKER_04]: And then, um, hello everyone.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_05]: My name is Justin Solos.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_05]: So I'm actually vice president for my company.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_05]: And so we run, uh, the largest senior community of expose here in Las Vegas.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_05]: And so we got about 32 shows upcoming.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_05]: And of course, that doesn't, uh, involve our corporate events and our mixers that we got going on.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_05]: But,
- 23:31[SPEAKER_05]: Yes, that was the issue with us because while we did have plans for a podcast, we have the product already, but as far as, you know, having to really find the individuals, we do have a list, but it feels if we're still not there where we're able to bring them to a room and possibly sit down and discuss further in detail with them.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_05]: We're kind of on the edge of it.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_07]: Why do you say that?
- 24:02[SPEAKER_07]: Why do you say you're not there?
- 24:03[SPEAKER_07]: Or why do you say you're someone doing your clients?
- 24:08[SPEAKER_05]: Our partners and potential investors or clients.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_10]: Believe it or not, they want to be interviewed more than you know.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_10]: Trust me, they see what's going on in this podcast in space and they're like being interview as they're listening to podcast They're answering in their car I don't agree with that because I don't know how to make take that conversation to their friends.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_10]: Oh, listen to podcasts I can't believe it's a it's you they just start real strong
- 24:35[SPEAKER_05]: I wanted to bring it up to my CEO because he's the one who's not of it.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_05]: So possibly providing or, you know, so they have me sitting in there in our office discussing with, you know, said person.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_07]: You would do that every year?
- 24:47[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_05]: But it's first of, we have a product already established, right?
- 24:51[SPEAKER_05]: Which is the expose.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_05]: If it's not the expose, it's, uh, it's, uh, it's working with international partners and conventions like C.S.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_05]: and C.M.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_07]: And so, I'm sorry.
- 25:00[SPEAKER_07]: Are you comfortable doing the interviews?
- 25:02[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_07]: You think you'll be pretty good?
- 25:05[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I think I can do pretty good because I've done PR for micro-influencers as well.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_05]: But it's three to five minutes interviews.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_05]: It's not a prolonged, right, 30-to-an-hour podcast.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_11]: Most of the biggest I should do today.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_05]: It's just having, I think right now it's having the exact space and if not the exact space, it's probably the exposure we still haven't reached.
- 25:35[SPEAKER_11]: Well, you don't have the podcast to get exposed or so, of course, not a region to the podcast.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_05]: Which I was thinking, maybe I can, it could be an each and every show, right?
- 25:43[SPEAKER_05]: It's not so hard to set up two chairs and a camera behind us while we've got the whole Benny going around, you know, and in the background.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_05]: So it's something you have a space to do it.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_05]: We do have venues, so you're lying to me.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_04]: And each is only, I don't know, he says having a hard time getting people on.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_05]: It's, it's having a, yeah, but he hasn't tried.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_04]: Well, if you haven't tried, then try number two, I have another option.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_08]: He said he didn't have the space, then he has a hard time getting people on, but he hasn't tried to get the people on.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_05]: Well, it's more, you know, being so, he said absent, rather than rather than an open venue like what we have because, you know, is, you know, what we have or shows at, right?
- 26:29[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, good.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_05]: It's more of a studio, I guess I'm more, you know, just looking forward or having the perfect set of, right, which when I shouldn't at the start.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I mean, don't even, yeah, don't worry about that.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_04]: I literally on purpose shot a couple podcasts when I was in vacation with iPhones on purpose.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_04]: I wanted to prove a point.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_04]: This was literally six months ago.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_04]: It wasn't that long ago.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_04]: And no one noticed.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_04]: Someone actually commented, bro, what settings on your Sony's are this?
- 27:00[SPEAKER_04]: It was an iPhone.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_04]: So, minimal setup, I even think sometimes people feel like it has to be in person, although there's something about the human connection that can't be replicated, however, if it's about just serving your objective and your business, building relationships, creating deeper connections with clients or future clients, virtual podcasts,
- 27:25[SPEAKER_04]: are great too.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_04]: My friends at the 505 podcast, they've been doing it for a couple of years, their most viewed podcast is a virtual podcast.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_04]: And they have a $20,000 podcast set up that they take everywhere, they have an LA, and their most viewed podcast is virtual.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_04]: So I always want to, and I'm sure you feel that too, it's just like...
- 27:47[SPEAKER_04]: What's the thing in the way?
- 27:49[SPEAKER_04]: And a lot of the times I've learned this in sales that whatever is your excuse or objection, it's really your reason.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_04]: So if you don't have a place to film, all the more you should go virtual.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_04]: If you don't know who to talk to, all the more you should just do it yourself until somebody comes up.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_04]: So, but I mean, do it, you said you're the vice president?
- 28:18[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, anyone who's a vice president or any company who's cool, but then you're even more, you get more or a point for being the guy in the company whose face is out there distributing what you guys all do, which I believe if businesses are successful, businesses do pretty cool things, but we just think it's boring.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_04]: Because we're the closest thing to the solution, but I'm sure some of the nuance and the things that people get from working with you guys are showing their showcasing their stuff on, you know, at various expose and do you put on boots and crap, not crap and stuff.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, so as far as booths, yeah, we do.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I mean, now we're getting the designing.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_05]: Right.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_05]: Well, that's more towards, let's say if we want to bring an international partner to one of these big conventions, right?
- 29:05[SPEAKER_05]: That's when we'll use our skills to create these booths for them.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_04]: No, that's awesome.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_04]: And that's such an added value.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_04]: Like, I don't know how many, let me show this ton of competitors, but who's doing that?
- 29:18[SPEAKER_04]: Do you clap it up for my man?
- 29:20[SPEAKER_04]: Let's go.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_07]: Anybody else know what in the start, if you just nervous you don't you don't know if you're gonna be good at it or anybody No one knows what that It's just a start.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, nothing gonna be good at it.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_07]: No, I just
- 29:35[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, to be honest with you, the reason that I'm here is because I have, I've built a business and I have great clients and I do well, but I've never marketed my business.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_06]: I've never, it posted on Instagram about it.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_06]: I never, I had never put myself out there.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_06]: And so like, that's the main reason that I came that I'm here is because,
- 30:01[SPEAKER_06]: I'm I got all day like I got advice and structure and ideas and Everything for for my clients, but when it comes to myself, I have a block I got a good you live here.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, so you know your clients come to you When they just don't know what to do you fix their problems, right?
- 30:18[SPEAKER_10]: Yes, you need to just put yourself another seat and call Omar
- 30:22[SPEAKER_10]: One, like I've, if you sat down with him for like 45 minutes and said, what do I need?
- 30:27[SPEAKER_10]: He'll put together the whole game plan for you to hold structure.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_10]: He'll tell you exactly what gear you need.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_10]: It might be, you know, working with you for a few weeks.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_10]: But if you want to start,
- 30:37[SPEAKER_10]: just reach out to him.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_10]: He'll help you start.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_10]: I don't know what it's going to cause, but it'll cause you a lot.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_10]: It'll be a lot less than like the time you're going to spend for the next year trying to like get ready and put it all together in it.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_10]: 45 minutes he'll fix that problem.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_10]: And then if you want to get set up, he could walk you through this whole process.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_10]: It's time to do it, right?
- 31:01[SPEAKER_04]: Let me encourage you with the fact that you've done what most people aren't willing to do, and that's build a referral based business.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_04]: That's called brand, like if you guys have great reputation, but what's also cool is that you're not going to be leveraged by trying to make the podcast be monetized.
- 31:21[SPEAKER_04]: because desperation is a killer of sales.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_04]: And people can feel that when you show up in your content, you feel like you're trying to get something out of it.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_04]: And if you can approach content creation or podcasting from a place of adding value, because there is maybe nothing you need from doing this, it's just out of the goodwill.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_04]: It will just multiply the stuff you already got going on.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_04]: There's a reason why these
- 31:50[SPEAKER_04]: net worth billionaires are doing YouTube right now.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_04]: Sharon, he's the CEO of acquisition.com, he's killing it on YouTube long for him.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_04]: He doesn't need to though.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_04]: He's freaking rich.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_04]: You know, Daniel Presley, Sunny Leonard Doosie, there's these CEOs that make really good money and they're showing up online, but they're content works because they're just giving.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and I just feel like you're in a perfect position to start because you don't have to do it.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_04]: Some people who have to do it, like cool that you're choosing that path, but it's just really hard when you need something out of when the transaction is so surface level, it kills the humanness of your approach because you're just trying to do it for something.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_04]: But if you've been this successful without content, it's just turning on a camera and a couple of mics.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_04]: So cool, I'm glad you're here.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_04]: Do you clap it up for hand?
- 32:49[SPEAKER_04]: Let's go.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_04]: Good.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_04]: Could you give me maybe your, I know you mentioned with the guests you had, it was like initially you were like let's just talk about the event and hopefully the people by tickets for the event.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_04]: Have you found a strategic way to insert your business in your podcast and like in a in a tasteful way where it doesn't feel sailsy or repetitive.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, I mean, I just talk about it all the time.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_10]: Every episode I'm going to mention podcast of it.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_10]: somehow the conversation just always leads to podcasting.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_10]: But also, I built a podcast, social proof podcast because I always talk to like kind of beginning stage entrepreneurs.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_10]: So I just built an audience of people who need this information.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_10]: And typically my guest is going to charge you $30,000, $40,000 for coaching.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_10]: Why don't you answer $100?
- 33:42[SPEAKER_10]: I got you and then I put a little add in the middle.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_10]: I know you're enjoying this episode, but if you have been struggling with this this and that I can help you 100,000 miles of click the link below.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_10]: Let's get back to that episode.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_10]: You two go and put commercials and yeah, you're a kind of frustration anyway, so yeah, let's put mom
- 34:00[SPEAKER_04]: So, this is, you're talking about the, would you call your community?
- 34:05[SPEAKER_04]: Um, the morning meetup.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_10]: Actually, me and my partner, Donnie, we're merging communities now because we have the same.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_10]: We have similar audience, but we are collaboration, we're collaborating the morning meetup with some community in her community, actual CEO, and we're going to make it one community because we have the podcast together, so it just makes sense, it's a stream line.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_04]: I love that.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_04]: When did you start implementing a paid community as a form of what's sponsored your podcast?
- 34:33[SPEAKER_09]: Well, I always had a pay community.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_04]: When you started it.
- 34:37[SPEAKER_09]: That's why I got serious about the podcast.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, you had the offer of a paid community.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_04]: Did.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_04]: So good.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_04]: So if you don't have an offer and you're starting or you have a podcast.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_10]: But I've not paid community.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_10]: My offer is entrepreneurship.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_10]: That's why I'm not going to start a relationship podcast.
- 34:50[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_10]: That doesn't have any, that's not a direct line.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_10]: But you've heard
- 34:55[SPEAKER_10]: entrepreneurship for me for 500 episodes.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_10]: You trust me.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_10]: You trust me.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_10]: So I built this foundation of people.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_10]: So when I have a community, they buy, if I was going to drop some merch, they buy, pack and submit, they come, they buy.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_10]: because we're building trust here.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_10]: So that's why I don't understand why someone doesn't want to start and you think it's over-saturated.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_10]: By the time, like if you start now, by the time I'm at a thousand episodes, you'll be at 500 episodes.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_10]: There's gonna be somebody who's about to start to say, oh, I missed it.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_10]: Let's just start now, start building trust and then everywhere you go.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_10]: People are gonna say, oh, I love that episode.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_10]: I'm gonna tell y'all this too.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_10]: I was not getting a lot of traction on the podcast initially and I did this episode with my boy.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_10]: His name was Wall Street Trapper and I want to say he was episode 52 or 54 or 54.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_10]: It took me 54 episodes to get an episode that hit.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_10]: I mean, I never seen this type of traffic on my channel.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_10]: It was insane.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_10]: I said, oh my God, I got one.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_10]: What happened, though, for that first week we could have, I'm getting all of these views from episode 54, whatever episode it was, well, Wall Street Chopper.
- 36:19[SPEAKER_10]: But what then happened was, episode 45, of the guy you've never heard of.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_10]: They Melvin' Nundery, that episode started to go crazy.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_10]: That was my first episode to hit 250,000 views.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_10]: But it took me to getting episode 54 to bring some traffic for people to like episode 45, or Joel when that was.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_10]: And then people started watching the whole back catalog.
- 36:49[SPEAKER_10]: So the question is, the episode with Melvin Nunnery, the first one that like really went crazy, was it good when I recorded it?
- 36:58[SPEAKER_10]: Was it a good episode when I recorded it?
- 37:01[SPEAKER_10]: But I think the views then.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_10]: But it took me episode 54 to get some idea people really love to come to the channel and it trickle back to this episode That I thought was pretty good in the moment, but nobody saw it for a while now if I would have stopped After that like oh my gosh 45 episodes nothing's happening.
- 37:19[SPEAKER_10]: I quit Because it would lead me to believe that nobody likes any of these 45 episodes But then 54 hits and then people start watching everything else
- 37:29[SPEAKER_10]: It was incredible.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_10]: So you don't know what's going to hit.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_10]: We just got to keep putting out content and proving the content and making sure we're intentionally looking to get better.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_04]: So good, that happened with our episode.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, because like on, we shot it summer of 23.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_04]: I didn't have a name of the podcast.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_04]: I didn't have a voice of them.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_04]: I didn't even know what we were doing.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_04]: I was just like, I'm just gonna interview you and then drop it and it, I don't know, maybe you got a 200 views.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_04]: I just recently checked, it has over 30,000 views.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_04]: And I think we underestimate the shelf life of value.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_04]: Like the internet, the algorithm, even though it's doing its thing right now, it has a way of getting the content.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_04]: And it's what it wants to do, get the right content to the right person.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_04]: And so, I shot.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_04]: And this is what I prescribe.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_04]: Usually if you want to start a podcast like shoot like a handful of shoot four like just commit to a season.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to get four in the can and then so when you when you release one, if you do one per week or one every other week, you give yourself some of that margins to get the other ones in the can.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_04]: and it was you, a conversation with me and my wife and art, a Marcus Y-Roseeer, and then a UFC fighter that went to my church, like, those were like, I was just, A-Brow, you're a professional athlete, you know?
- 38:54[SPEAKER_04]: And it was just random shoulder tapping and then between yours and Marcus's, I mean, collectively that's over 100,000 views with both those, he hit over 70, 80,000 views.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_04]: We're talking like backlog, so I mean it happened for you, it happened for me and it can happen for you too.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_04]: And something you didn't mention is that people quit every day too.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_04]: So this like over-saturated thing is like, well, some people are staying in the game, but you have people quitting every day.
- 39:21[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, for sure.
- 39:24[SPEAKER_10]: So it's like, it's okay.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_10]: How many people
- 39:32[SPEAKER_10]: can think of a podcast that you used to listen to a lot, you used to listen to as much anymore.
- 39:39[SPEAKER_10]: Okay, celebrity moves and waves.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_10]: Every, every year we discover somebody that is like the biggest thing in the world that no one knew last year.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_10]: Like there's always a merging talent because there's so much content coming out.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_10]: So I say it to say,
- 39:58[SPEAKER_10]: You could be the one next.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_10]: Your life could change next year.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_10]: But we just gotta start it some way, right?
- 40:07[SPEAKER_10]: Yeah.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_10]: We don't know what's going to hit it.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_10]: So I think if we're focused on just doing the work and becoming better, our lives will get better, significantly better.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_10]: Nobody stays lit forever.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_10]: Nobody's lit forever.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_10]: Martin Luther King, Jr. has a holiday, but nobody really cares on the day about the speeches.
- 40:37[SPEAKER_10]: Nobody listens to the speeches, it has a holiday, and he's got streets named after him in schools.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_10]: And we just like, oh, I'll meet me on MLK, but we don't think about Martin at the top.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_10]: You get what I'm saying.
- 40:53[SPEAKER_10]: The most powerful people in the world.
- 40:55[SPEAKER_10]: Nobody cares about it at some point.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_08]: Celebrities fall in and out of grace.
- 41:00[SPEAKER_08]: They're mad at Kevin on stage right now.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_10]: Who was the most wholesome person I've ever met in my life.
- 41:08[SPEAKER_10]: He said on a podcast, he was on a game news podcast.
- 41:14[SPEAKER_10]: He asked him about LGBTQ and he said, well, essentially, I mean, I love everybody.
- 41:24[SPEAKER_08]: You think I'm playing?
- 41:25[SPEAKER_08]: That's what I'm at.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_08]: Am I right?
- 41:27[SPEAKER_12]: That's why you said he's seeing how the church I'm love on someone and bring him to the church.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_12]: I mean, I'll be saw two individuals who weren't loved on in the church and then they chose to lead the church.
- 41:38[SPEAKER_12]: And so he said if he's going to choose to lead with love, but he understands all people don't come to the church because the church can be a judgmental list.
- 41:47[SPEAKER_10]: And there are people mad about that.
- 41:48[SPEAKER_10]: Dang.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_10]: It's Kevel's stage.
- 41:51[SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, it's just cracks, holes of jokes all day long.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_10]: And there's people, so this is another point, just prepare yourself for celebrity.
- 42:04[SPEAKER_10]: Because there is no one that's successful or popular that goes unattacked, just trust me on this.
- 42:13[SPEAKER_10]: Okay?
- 42:18[SPEAKER_10]: Now, I don't know this to be true, but I'm sure.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_10]: Only because he's so popular, there's someone that's attacked him.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_10]: Cheers.
- 42:27[SPEAKER_10]: And a comment, something like, someone's gonna be trying it.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_10]: And if as and really hit in a wave yet, it's coming.
- 42:36[SPEAKER_10]: Okay, it all more.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_04]: Look at me.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_10]: Look at me.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_10]: Look at me.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_10]: Look at me.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_10]: Look at me.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_04]: Look at me.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_04]: Look at me.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_04]: Look at me.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_10]: Look at me.
- 42:47[SPEAKER_10]: Look at me.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_10]: Look at me.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_10]: wild.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_10]: I say that to say there's always going to be an emerging person that people love.
- 42:57[SPEAKER_10]: They fall at a love with, oh, Marty, fall in love with you.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_10]: But you have to be there.
- 43:02[SPEAKER_10]: You have voice has to be there.
- 43:04[SPEAKER_10]: And the best way to leverage is you find other people have them on your shell interview them.
- 43:08[SPEAKER_10]: You get their audience because they get to discover you.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_10]: But we got to start.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_10]: We have to start.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_10]: We can't be afraid to start.
- 43:17[SPEAKER_10]: I don't care if it's cell phones.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_10]: Our earleisure started with cell phones that a kitchen table and built a multi-million dollar business.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_10]: They're building communities in Africa from the podcast, from a small town in New York.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_10]: Troy was a teacher when I met him.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_10]: He was a teacher as the show kept going.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_10]: And I said, bro, the next school year, I think it's summer time, I'm going to say the school year.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_10]: How are you going to man?
- 43:44[SPEAKER_10]: You know you have to quit, right?
- 43:45[SPEAKER_10]: He said, nah, I think I'm a manager.
- 43:46[SPEAKER_10]: I'm going to balance it.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_10]: He wound up quitting, but one of the biggest shows, he was a teacher.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's crazy.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_10]: What are we doing?
- 43:57[SPEAKER_10]: I'm telling you have to start now to at least get in the runnings of being that person nobody knew last year that everybody knows this year.
- 44:04[SPEAKER_04]: Fire.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_04]: where we talked a little bit about views.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_04]: Can you maybe be a little more practical tactical, just the focus on YouTube, hosting your podcast and people are wanting the production value to be high.
- 44:21[SPEAKER_04]: Like can you talk about YouTube versus just audio?
- 44:26[SPEAKER_04]: What's the least you should do?
- 44:28[SPEAKER_10]: Um, I say you do both because right now we're recording video and audio, um, we just take the video, pair with the audio and put it on YouTube, Facebook, long form, and we take the audio and upload it to podcasts, platforms, right?
- 44:42[SPEAKER_10]: Nobody's confused about that part, right?
- 44:44[SPEAKER_10]: Okay.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_10]: I think they got it.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, and then what about like packaging on YouTube to like break through the algorithm?
- 44:52[SPEAKER_10]: Watch the department.
- 44:53[SPEAKER_10]: Okay, I just use the code.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_10]: Okay, okay.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_10]: Okay.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_10]: Okay, let me tell you how we go about this.
- 44:59[SPEAKER_10]: I got a chat GPT, and I say chat.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_10]: I want you to act as an SEO YouTube guru expert this is and I'll upload the transcript so you can take the transcript the audio I don't know how we do it, but my guy he does it.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_10]: He'll extract the transcript and we'll put it into chat GBT And I'll say chat look at this episode.
- 45:21[SPEAKER_10]: I want you to give me a thumbnail
- 45:23[SPEAKER_10]: title, thumbnail option, and a title, and it starts packaging to stuff.
- 45:28[SPEAKER_10]: If I don't like it, I ask for some more.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_10]: So I'm like, chat, are you sure?
- 45:32[SPEAKER_10]: And I'm like, you know what?
- 45:33[SPEAKER_10]: You're right.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_10]: I'm not sure.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_10]: You're good.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_10]: We're not just one after it.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_10]: But that's how we start packaging it.
- 45:39[SPEAKER_10]: And I just, I just put I put it up.
- 45:43[SPEAKER_04]: It's good.
- 45:44[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 45:44[SPEAKER_04]: No, I mean, any other AI things you've been using?
- 45:47[SPEAKER_10]: Oh, oh, yes.
- 45:49[SPEAKER_10]: Well, chat really runs my life.
- 45:52[SPEAKER_10]: But I've been doing these episodes, y'all.
- 45:54[SPEAKER_10]: Don't tell anyone.
- 45:56[SPEAKER_10]: Okay, so I thought it was idea.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_10]: Like I can't get every CEO to tell the story about their company.
- 46:06[SPEAKER_10]: So I'm just gonna research to CEOs.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_10]: So what I did was I went on chat and I said, y'all, I wanna do a 45 minute episode talking about the founders of Airbnb.
- 46:20[SPEAKER_10]: And I said I want you to go deep with stats and facts and figures and double check it and it's spat out this script and I got a camera with a teleprompter we got a teleprompter and here's somewhere right got a teleprompter so the teleprompter something you put on the camera and you look at it but you're really reading and I just read that join it and then I did an episode called weddings are scammed
- 46:46[SPEAKER_10]: They are.
- 46:48[SPEAKER_10]: Weddings are scammed.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, the whole diamond ring thing?
- 46:51[SPEAKER_10]: That was built by a diamond company that started incorporated the movies and stuff like that.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_10]: I didn't know that.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_10]: I know G is I got it from Chad JBT in my script.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_10]: So it was a script and I read it the whole time.
- 47:05[SPEAKER_10]: But I had two camera angles, this one and that one.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_10]: So when I started a little bit, we just switched to the other angle.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_10]: But I read it the whole time.
- 47:14[SPEAKER_10]: I just read that just kept going and you can get the little foot pedal, you can just like, you hit the little foot pedal and it goes down, you keep reading.
- 47:20[SPEAKER_10]: So the beers is diamond company, they throw those good, throw it up, throw it up.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_10]: And then if I need to slow it down, I just take my foot off the pedal and I just keep reading.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_10]: I read that joy.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_04]: So again.
- 47:32[SPEAKER_10]: That's the easiest way to work.
- 47:33[SPEAKER_10]: When I get back tomorrow.
- 47:35[SPEAKER_10]: I'm gonna do it.
- 47:37[SPEAKER_10]: I just do it on chance of it too.
- 47:38[SPEAKER_10]: Now I do like look at it and like, if I don't talk like that, I'll say it a different sentence.
- 47:43[SPEAKER_10]: So it's not like I just spit it out on chat, but I look at it, it'll write you a good one.
- 47:48[SPEAKER_10]: Don't wanna try it real quick.
- 47:50[SPEAKER_10]: All right, y'all, if I got chat, GB3, all right, let's do it, I'm going to show y'all, grab your phone.
- 47:55[SPEAKER_10]: Anybody got the edits app?
- 47:57[SPEAKER_10]: Edits app?
- 47:58[SPEAKER_10]: Okay, cool.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_10]: Do me a favor, we're about to just together.
- 48:00[SPEAKER_10]: Okay, I know it's kind of ruling in.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_04]: Not as cool.
- 48:03[SPEAKER_04]: Do you feel comfortable screen screen record your phone real quick?
- 48:05[SPEAKER_04]: Oh yeah.
- 48:06[SPEAKER_04]: And we'll get throw it in.
- 48:07[SPEAKER_04]: All right.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_10]: Here we go.
- 48:09[SPEAKER_10]: All right, so I'm going to go and shut it.
- 48:10[SPEAKER_10]: Who has a business?
- 48:11[SPEAKER_10]: Somebody give me your business.
- 48:12[SPEAKER_10]: Where should we go?
- 48:13[SPEAKER_10]: Restaurant.
- 48:14[SPEAKER_10]: restaurants.
- 48:14[SPEAKER_10]: Okay.
- 48:16[SPEAKER_10]: What's the interesting topic in the restaurant team?
- 48:20[SPEAKER_10]: Food calls.
- 48:21[SPEAKER_10]: Okay.
- 48:23[SPEAKER_10]: All right, chat.
- 48:23[SPEAKER_10]: My friend is a restaurant owner, okay?
- 48:26[SPEAKER_10]: He wants to do a 60 second video on fruit costs.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_10]: What I want this, I want this to be fun and engaging and broken down simply so that average person can like understand what fruit cost is.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_10]: And I want some facts and statistics and some examples.
- 48:46[SPEAKER_10]: So I can really explain it, but I want you to do it in a script.
- 48:50[SPEAKER_10]: So I could just read it.
- 48:52[SPEAKER_10]: So it has to be really simple, no big words, because I'm going to be reading, okay?
- 48:56[SPEAKER_10]: So give me a 45 second script that I can read that's going to be engaging for people who are interested in food.
- 49:04[SPEAKER_10]: So that's chat, so we're gonna see what that looks like.
- 49:08[SPEAKER_10]: All right, so do me a favor.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_10]: I want all you ought to do what I just did just for your industry, real quick, okay?
- 49:14[SPEAKER_10]: Real quickly, real quickly.
- 49:16[SPEAKER_10]: Okay, y'all stop doing y'all.
- 49:18[SPEAKER_10]: She's gonna do hers.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_10]: Let's do it.
- 49:20[SPEAKER_10]: Let's go get her out of clothes.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_10]: Okay, so I'm gonna check.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_10]: Let's go.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, chat.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_01]: So I want to do a 45 second video on real estate and why it's a great time to buy here in Las Vegas.
- 49:32[SPEAKER_01]: I wanted to be simple because I'm going to be reading it.
- 49:36[SPEAKER_01]: So keep it in my language because we know we love the people and they love us.
- 49:40[SPEAKER_01]: So 45 seconds, I'm going to put it in a transcript, so keep it simple, 45 seconds, go.
- 49:47[SPEAKER_10]: So you're all going to do that, right?
- 49:48[SPEAKER_10]: So what I want you to do is I want you to copy it.
- 49:51[SPEAKER_10]: You know how to copy it?
- 49:53[SPEAKER_10]: Yes.
- 49:53[SPEAKER_10]: Is that the bottom left?
- 49:55[SPEAKER_10]: Open the edits app.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_10]: You have the edits app.
- 49:57[SPEAKER_10]: Okay.
- 49:57[SPEAKER_10]: Are all you all go through the edits app real quick?
- 50:00[SPEAKER_10]: So we're going to open the edits app, all right?
- 50:04[SPEAKER_10]: And what we're going to do is everybody there, everybody on the edit app.
- 50:08[SPEAKER_10]: At the bottom right, there's a circle with a circle in it.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_10]: Got it?
- 50:14[SPEAKER_10]: I want you to hit that.
- 50:16[SPEAKER_10]: On the left side, you'll see a couple little prop little icons.
- 50:20[SPEAKER_10]: See where says teleprompter?
- 50:21[SPEAKER_10]: Do you see that?
- 50:23[SPEAKER_10]: Or it might not say it.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_10]: It's like a little box with two little minds in it.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_10]: I said the bottom.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_10]: You'll see it?
- 50:29[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I see it.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I see it.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 50:31[SPEAKER_01]: It looks like a little book.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_10]: Where says add your script?
- 50:33[SPEAKER_10]: I want you to paste.
- 50:37[SPEAKER_01]: Hope please, we're doing it.
- 50:38[SPEAKER_11]: Okay, take your time.
- 50:40[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't done this before, but it was moving too fast.
- 50:43[SPEAKER_10]: Sit the little pace.
- 50:43[SPEAKER_10]: You got it?
- 50:44[SPEAKER_10]: I'm going to show you how to fix that.
- 50:46[SPEAKER_10]: you ready so what this looks like you all you'll see it here this is what chat gave me right it's in the teleprompter you see it okay so what i'm going to do is i'm going to hit this little red button and i'm going to read it okay so i'm going to look like this
- 51:07[SPEAKER_10]: You ever wonder why your favorite restaurant cares so much about portion sizes?
- 51:11[SPEAKER_10]: And it's not because their cheap is because something called food costs.
- 51:16[SPEAKER_10]: Say it with me, food costs, food costs is just this.
- 51:19[SPEAKER_10]: How much it costs to make the dish compared to how much they sell it for?
- 51:24[SPEAKER_10]: So let's say a burger cost, $3 to make.
- 51:27[SPEAKER_10]: and they sell it for $10.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_10]: That's a 30% full cost.
- 51:30[SPEAKER_10]: Now, here's a crazy part.
- 51:32[SPEAKER_10]: Most restaurants try to stay somewhere between 25 and 35% why, because the rest of that money has to pay for rent and staff and lights, and at some point get a profit.
- 51:44[SPEAKER_10]: So if they just give you a little too many fries or cook,
- 51:50[SPEAKER_10]: or to cook adds cheese that 30% turns in a 40% real quick and now they're not making any money they're losing it.
- 51:57[SPEAKER_10]: That's why consistency is everything in restaurants.
- 52:00[SPEAKER_10]: So next time your plate looks perfectly measured just know that's not by accident that's survival.
- 52:07[SPEAKER_10]: So I'll stop, right?
- 52:08[SPEAKER_10]: So it is what it looks like.
- 52:10[SPEAKER_10]: You don't want to lie to your favorite restaurant care so much about portion sizes, and it's not because the cheat is because something called food cost.
- 52:19[SPEAKER_10]: Now, I...
- 52:22[SPEAKER_10]: I started a little bit.
- 52:23[SPEAKER_01]: You did really good.
- 52:24[SPEAKER_10]: But I would just do it over because I just read better, right?
- 52:28[SPEAKER_10]: But so some of us are having a problem creating content.
- 52:33[SPEAKER_10]: You'll never run out ideas, if you just ask chat to tell you what to say, and you can read good.
- 52:39[SPEAKER_10]: Well, read well, right?
- 52:41[SPEAKER_10]: You can read well, right?
- 52:45[SPEAKER_10]: So I'm doing this for Instagram, and I, I could post these all day long.
- 52:50[SPEAKER_10]: Chat's not going to run out of scripts, right?
- 52:53[SPEAKER_10]: They're just, it's just not.
- 52:55[SPEAKER_10]: I would read it and I would post it.
- 52:58[SPEAKER_10]: I could do the same thing with a podcast.
- 53:03[SPEAKER_10]: We're just describing the disparity of, let's say, good women to find in Las Vegas.
- 53:12[SPEAKER_10]: Let's say you have a relationship podcast.
- 53:15[SPEAKER_10]: Hard to find a good woman here.
- 53:16[SPEAKER_10]: This is why, and just ask it, it will come up with some answers, or some hypotheratic, or some sort of hypothesis, or why there's a disparity for what you're asking for.
- 53:28[SPEAKER_10]: and you go through it, you make your little adjustments, and you read it, you got to episode.
- 53:33[SPEAKER_10]: Solo episode, you don't need not a guest, and you sound brilliant.
- 53:37[SPEAKER_10]: That's why I started to put some facts in there because I just want to spit all facts.
- 53:43[SPEAKER_10]: Then I saw a genius and I become a person of influence.
- 53:47[SPEAKER_10]: All these little videos that we don't read them.
- 53:51[SPEAKER_10]: Then I thought about it a few minutes before I did it.
- 53:54[SPEAKER_04]: That's that's it, in the game of the script.
- 53:59[SPEAKER_04]: that's free game what it where you at with using a i2 create like you know like legit no for sure but i mean like podcast long form like will you i don't know i just want to know if you're like that i'm i'm when i go back i'm at a long long form podcast and i'm a read that joy because you could probably
- 54:22[SPEAKER_04]: throw all your podcasts inside of Delphi.ai.
- 54:26[SPEAKER_04]: This is not sponsored.
- 54:28[SPEAKER_04]: And then tell Delphi to read this script and then nobody would even know.
- 54:33[SPEAKER_04]: That's your voice.
- 54:35[SPEAKER_10]: Billy showed me the joy from notebook L.M.
- 54:39[SPEAKER_10]: where they were first off, it threw me off a little bit because he sent me this video.
- 54:44[SPEAKER_10]: He was like, yo, these people talking about this last hot seat that you did.
- 54:47[SPEAKER_10]: And it
- 54:52[SPEAKER_10]: They saw the way, you know what I just, you know, like they just saw that way.
- 54:57[SPEAKER_10]: They're like, hey, so this guy gave his chance.
- 54:59[SPEAKER_10]: He's just, I mean, it's tearing his girl up in the podcast.
- 55:01[SPEAKER_10]: It's just, I don't know what, and the other lady's like, yeah, man, he's really hard on it.
- 55:05[SPEAKER_10]: But there's some real truth to it.
- 55:07[SPEAKER_10]: The notebook L.M.
- 55:09[SPEAKER_10]: created a podcast based off my podcast when he fed them of podcasts to read.
- 55:15[SPEAKER_10]: And they had a conversation about it.
- 55:17[SPEAKER_10]: That could be a whole podcast.
- 55:18[SPEAKER_06]: That's insane.
- 55:19[SPEAKER_10]: You know, there are influencers that are AI right now, right?
- 55:22[SPEAKER_06]: For sure.
- 55:23[SPEAKER_10]: That's way more followers than us.
- 55:25[SPEAKER_10]: Because they can pump out endless content and they're searching the world for what people want to listen to.
- 55:30[SPEAKER_10]: We can do the same thing.
- 55:33[SPEAKER_10]: Let's not fall behind.
- 55:35[SPEAKER_10]: Besides, the people that just didn't want to get on computers when the whole world is getting on computers like, I don't want to be, I don't want to have a computer.
- 55:42[SPEAKER_10]: Why?
- 55:43[SPEAKER_10]: So we're, we're going to say something, I'm sorry.
- 55:45[SPEAKER_04]: uh, Deonry had a question.
- 55:50[SPEAKER_12]: I kind of feel like I'm a victim to a hostage to my analytics on my YouTube studio.
- 55:56[SPEAKER_12]: Do you agree with uploading when you see like your audience is on the most every week for your long form?
- 56:03[SPEAKER_12]: That's the first question because
- 56:05[SPEAKER_12]: I used to not do that and then I saw the analytics on like, okay, this just makes sense feed them if they're here, you know what I mean so now I just do that and then secondly do you upload your long form and then put in shorts so that when someone sees a short on the reals they have the long form to go to or do you upload shorts first to get them hyped to want to watch the long form.
- 56:33[SPEAKER_10]: So I wasn't listening to the second one, but then I locked into the second one that I forgot the first one.
- 56:37[SPEAKER_04]: You upload at the same time every week.
- 56:39[SPEAKER_04]: And why?
- 56:40[SPEAKER_10]: I do.
- 56:41[SPEAKER_10]: I upload the same time every week because that's the system that we follow.
- 56:45[SPEAKER_10]: That's good.
- 56:46[SPEAKER_10]: And what I've found was your audience is online based on how you train them to be online.
- 56:53[SPEAKER_10]: So if you start uploading overnight, let's say, at like two in the morning.
- 56:59[SPEAKER_10]: I believe that your audience would probably skew after a while later, because that's how you train them.
- 57:08[SPEAKER_04]: So like, yeah, I don't follow them, you make them follow you, I think about Mr. B.
- 57:13[SPEAKER_04]: So uploads on Saturdays, it's kind of Matt Armstrong does like carbideos, uploads on Sundays, and I just know that, you know, like, and so that's good.
- 57:21[SPEAKER_10]: And then the next question was, do you want to also want to say, so remember, the time that you upload isn't going to dictate the success of the episode.
- 57:31[SPEAKER_10]: Right.
- 57:32[SPEAKER_10]: I upload this one video six months.
- 57:36[SPEAKER_10]: before it was popular, right?
- 57:39[SPEAKER_10]: So like this, especially if it's evergreen content, this stuff is gonna live forever.
- 57:43[SPEAKER_10]: Go to like, I want you to look at your YouTube.
- 57:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 57:47[SPEAKER_10]: And I want you to go to a video that you recorded at least three years ago.
- 57:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 57:56[SPEAKER_10]: And I want to know, whatever random what you pick on, how many of you's it got in the last 30 days?
- 58:04[SPEAKER_10]: Three years ago, I've never looked at his back in channel.
- 58:08[SPEAKER_10]: But I know there are some people that watch something, he recorded three years ago, today, or yesterday, this week at some point.
- 58:18[SPEAKER_10]: So don't be a hostage today.
- 58:20[SPEAKER_10]: Create your time schedule, not because the audience is all online, but because that's your consistent time.
- 58:26[SPEAKER_12]: Cool.
- 58:26[SPEAKER_12]: Do you upload short content?
- 58:29[SPEAKER_12]: I'm short as I'm reals to get them hyped.
- 58:31[SPEAKER_12]: So watch the long form or do you already have the long form there and then release short forms to get them to go to it
- 58:38[SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, I upload the long form and then we have shorts.
- 58:42[SPEAKER_10]: But I have two clips a day that go out.
- 58:45[SPEAKER_10]: Well, two on Instagram, no same to go on TikTok, no same to go on Facebook, no same to go on shorts as well.
- 58:52[SPEAKER_10]: So here's the biggest thing.
- 58:55[SPEAKER_10]: Don't produce what you're not going to promote.
- 59:00[SPEAKER_10]: So many of us upload the episode.
- 59:02[SPEAKER_10]: And if it doesn't hit, just didn't hit.
- 59:04[SPEAKER_10]: Like, we need to promote it.
- 59:05[SPEAKER_10]: all throughout the week to get people to come over.
- 59:10[SPEAKER_04]: So, and I would even say about creating that feeling, if you create that feeling, I want to give, yeah, I want to give people the opportunity to move on it.
- 59:18[SPEAKER_04]: Literally, my brother, who's in ministry, he was on a friend's podcast and they made a podcast around
- 59:25[SPEAKER_04]: My father who actually today is like one year death anniversary and so I'm just I'm just gonna paint the picture I see a post on my Instagram of them promoting this podcast and I'm like I'm interested.
- 59:38[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know who your friend is my my brother's means.
- 59:40[SPEAKER_04]: My god I don't know what's friend is but I'm like cool.
- 59:41[SPEAKER_04]: It's like podcast about how my brother talked about our dad So I went on YouTube and it was like releasing at 4 p.m.
- 59:47[SPEAKER_04]: I was like, Rit, bro.
- 59:50[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, just drop it then promote.
- 59:54[SPEAKER_09]: Did you find something?
- 59:55[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, no.
- 59:55[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, this one with Marcus shot or released on October 25th, 23.
- 1:00:01[SPEAKER_04]: In the last 48 hours on YouTube, it got 12 views.
- 1:00:07[SPEAKER_04]: And 12 people.
- 1:00:09[SPEAKER_04]: 12 people.
- 1:00:09[SPEAKER_04]: And it's an hour long.
- 1:00:11[SPEAKER_04]: So like,
- 1:00:12[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, there's just a little bit more than 12 people here, you know, um, yeah, no, it's powerful.
- 1:00:18[SPEAKER_10]: So we got to take up space online, uh, the moralist story.
- 1:00:20[SPEAKER_10]: Let's start taking up space online.
- 1:00:23[SPEAKER_00]: My question is, how have you seen the industry change?
- 1:00:27[SPEAKER_00]: Because you've been podcasting a long time as well.
- 1:00:30[SPEAKER_00]: And how can we as podcasters adapt to the changes and the expectations of the people around us of how the industry is changing?
- 1:00:39[SPEAKER_00]: Because I think that everybody sees those shows as kind of like,
- 1:00:45[SPEAKER_00]: the go to the standard shows right and it can leave a lot of people feeling like I'm not doing good enough from not doing well enough, but the reality is is that we're all killing it, we're all doing an amazing job.
- 1:00:58[SPEAKER_00]: So talk to a little bit about that, like how you've seen industry grow and how can we as podcasters like kind of reset our expectations, but also grow as a community.
- 1:01:07[SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, there are more options for people to listen to, but most people are going to be consistent, but I will say we have to find some sort of right now hook, meaning what is it that people are looking for right now.
- 1:01:25[SPEAKER_10]: So when I started interviewing people, just interviewing entrepreneurs about their story,
- 1:01:32[SPEAKER_10]: There weren't that many other shows doing it.
- 1:01:36[SPEAKER_10]: So when you find ours, it's like, wow, this is dope.
- 1:01:40[SPEAKER_10]: I'm getting to know some other people now.
- 1:01:43[SPEAKER_10]: It's a lot more, which means if I'm going to start a podcast today, I'm starting with some sort of unique angle.
- 1:01:50[SPEAKER_10]: A unique angle, not just getting people stories, but listening to an audience, a unique angle.
- 1:01:55[SPEAKER_10]: Let's say we could do a relationship podcast.
- 1:01:58[SPEAKER_10]: Where Mia Omar just started talking about relationships.
- 1:02:02[SPEAKER_10]: I could find, I could only interview people that have been divorced, or they were married.
- 1:02:13[SPEAKER_10]: They're divorced now.
- 1:02:14[SPEAKER_10]: I interview him for 30 minutes, in a separate room, I interview him for 30 minutes, I'm trying to understand why the marriage did work.
- 1:02:22[SPEAKER_10]: That will be interesting to see if the perspective is right?
- 1:02:24[SPEAKER_10]: You'd watch that.
- 1:02:26[SPEAKER_10]: But we got to think, not just let me sit down and talk about relationships.
- 1:02:30[SPEAKER_10]: Let's just have, we have to attack it from a unique perspective now.
- 1:02:35[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I love that you brought that up.
- 1:02:36[SPEAKER_04]: There's a girl in my program who just started a podcast, probably two months ago, Jasmine Mays, single-insaved podcast.
- 1:02:48[SPEAKER_04]: It's relationships, but it's niche.
- 1:02:51[SPEAKER_04]: And she's gotten a few to go over a hundred thousand views already.
- 1:02:56[SPEAKER_04]: conversation it's and so I think two things number one there will always be prose in every sector right and and yes they're the maybe they're the gold standard for mass viewership but the opportunity to create your own impact I think is still wide open especially by stitching strategically
- 1:03:23[SPEAKER_10]: Man, if she ever get on there and transparently without you, y'all.
- 1:03:28[SPEAKER_10]: I text last night, I'm sorry.
- 1:03:30[SPEAKER_10]: I've had it for the last six years, but come on, like, come on, let's have a conversation.
- 1:03:38[SPEAKER_10]: We are talking about all the things that they deal with and struggle with, and it can't be just patty-k conversation.
- 1:03:45[SPEAKER_10]: I all watch a lot of Lauren's fast, and let's have a real conversation.
- 1:03:48[SPEAKER_10]: That's an angle.
- 1:03:52[SPEAKER_10]: So, encouraged, even outside of the people doing their podcast runs and encouraged them to start their own.
- 1:04:00[SPEAKER_10]: Because, I really do believe a lot of the value in this overlooked is in the clips that come from the podcast.
- 1:04:08[SPEAKER_10]: you'll get way more views from the clips than you are from the full episodes.
- 1:04:13[SPEAKER_10]: That's why for monetization on YouTube, you can have a thousand subscribers in 4,000 last time hours, right?
- 1:04:22[SPEAKER_10]: Let's have a change.
- 1:04:24[SPEAKER_10]: But the other way to get monetized, so you have to have a thousand subscribers and four thousand last time hours in like 12 months, right, so you give you a year.
- 1:04:33[SPEAKER_10]: The other way to get monetized is you have to have 10 million short views in a 90 day window.
- 1:04:40[SPEAKER_10]: What that tells me is they know that it's a lot easier to get a lot of views from shorts than it is to get the long-form videos, which says to me, shorts will always move further than the long-form.
- 1:04:53[SPEAKER_10]: but we do both by recording long form, then we take the clips out and we shoot those out.
- 1:04:58[SPEAKER_10]: So your clients, if they're doing a podcast, they could be doing a podcast, yes we're gonna put up the long form, but I need at least seven to 14 clips out of this one hour long interview so that I can stay present and I can stumble on people's pocket.
- 1:05:14[SPEAKER_10]: Yo look, just look on it, pick up your Instagram real quick.
- 1:05:17[SPEAKER_10]: Look at this, this is so amazing.
- 1:05:20[SPEAKER_10]: I haven't seen her Instagram, but I want you to just go through your feed real quick.
- 1:05:24[SPEAKER_10]: And what you'll notice is that probably 50% of the content that you see are not people that you've decided to follow.
- 1:05:36[SPEAKER_10]: So scroll, so I followed this first and I followed them and then this is a suggested.
- 1:05:45[SPEAKER_10]: It's suggesting that I look at those people, but not keep going.
- 1:05:49[SPEAKER_10]: I'm not following them.
- 1:05:51[SPEAKER_10]: This is just an intricate elegance.
- 1:05:55[SPEAKER_10]: I'm not following this person.
- 1:05:56[SPEAKER_10]: So I saw all three, and then I saw three down follow, then it was three that I would wasn't following and then Wall Street Chaper, and then threads.
- 1:06:07[SPEAKER_10]: It's suggesting I follow a bunch of people on threads.
- 1:06:10[SPEAKER_10]: And then this person I follow, this person I don't follow.
- 1:06:15[SPEAKER_10]: It's not even a feed of people that are follow.
- 1:06:18[SPEAKER_10]: What does that mean for you?
- 1:06:22[SPEAKER_10]: It means you're gonna fall into someone's feed.
- 1:06:24[SPEAKER_10]: At some point, if we can put out enough content, that's how we just covered.
- 1:06:31[SPEAKER_04]: So, hey, could you talk a little bit about podcasts on it?
- 1:06:34[SPEAKER_04]: So, what is it, how long have you had it and what's your goal with this event?
- 1:06:41[SPEAKER_10]: Good point man, podcast summit is literally the largest gathering for a podcast education in the country And we've been doing this would be our fourth year I saw a gap of like all the stuff that we're talking about right now over two days Anywhere you are whether it's I've been started and I need to figure out the tools Omar speaks At least twice every single year We have workshops from what type of equipment to get to get started right now with any budget
- 1:07:10[SPEAKER_10]: auto way up to how to this year we have the webinar funnel model and how you leverage podcasting.
- 1:07:19[SPEAKER_10]: So if you ever seen somebody doing online training, they're probably doing the webinar.
- 1:07:23[SPEAKER_10]: I'm going to give you 45 minutes an hour, hour and a half of content and then to end I'm going to sell you something.
- 1:07:30[SPEAKER_10]: But on the piecass, I'm sure there's either add in there or something that's leading you to this particular offer.
- 1:07:38[SPEAKER_10]: So if you have an offer, you don't know that it can be kind of complex, but that's why we have a workshop dedicated to just that.
- 1:07:46[SPEAKER_10]: The science behind going viral on social media because if we can go social meat if we can go viral on social media And we have long-form content on YouTube and we have a podcast Some of those people that see you go viral from social media these scripts They're gonna look you up to try to find the rest of your stuff and that supports that over to And this year for the first time.
- 1:08:10[SPEAKER_10]: I'm gonna be doing the art of the interview because I believe interviewing is an art
- 1:08:15[SPEAKER_10]: And not only just for podcasts, I'm just in a real life, but David Letterman did fires interview with Jay-Z.
- 1:08:22[SPEAKER_10]: Jay-Z doesn't give the best interviews, but he did a, he had, he asked Jay-Z an incredible question.
- 1:08:27[SPEAKER_10]: He asked Jay-Z about cheating on the answer.
- 1:08:31[SPEAKER_10]: Now, for my guys here, there's a guy code.
- 1:08:34[SPEAKER_10]: You don't ask about that stuff in front of people, right?
- 1:08:38[SPEAKER_10]: But the way he did it was youth can tell he's been in this game for 40 plus years.
- 1:08:45[SPEAKER_10]: He started out with, he said, I wanted to ask you one other question.
- 1:08:49[SPEAKER_10]: He said, I ran into a situation where I almost lost my family, and he starts talking about how I guess he got caught up in the scandal, and he just the feeling of almost losing his family and something done that he did, almost ripped up his family, and he talked for like five minutes and he said, he looked at Jason and he said, and I was just wondering
- 1:09:18[SPEAKER_10]: it was art to me.
- 1:09:20[SPEAKER_10]: It was art.
- 1:09:20[SPEAKER_10]: Like somebody who really appreciates basketball like a good move, that was that for me.
- 1:09:25[SPEAKER_10]: I said, you can, that's why he's been doing this for you.
- 1:09:28[SPEAKER_10]: It was just, it was the dopest way to ask a question.
- 1:09:31[SPEAKER_10]: So I'm gonna, I'm gonna be doing kind of the art of the interview.
- 1:09:35[SPEAKER_10]: This year, I haven't really taught it before, but this goes into not only just podcasting, but if you're on a first date, you need to like extract some answers.
- 1:09:48[SPEAKER_10]: You have a ask a question you know, they didn't really give me the right answer, but you move once in a next question because you don't know how to extract it in a way.
- 1:09:56[SPEAKER_10]: But I think that's what's been able to give an edge, but there's literally two days jam pack, two workshops going on at the same time, we're going to have you on activation this year.
- 1:10:06[SPEAKER_10]: We have a bunch of setups where you don't know him, he doesn't know you, but you want to have a conversation with him, y'all can sit down and record a podcast.
- 1:10:16[SPEAKER_10]: right on your phone SD cars with figuring out the logistics but for two days we have some of the best of us actually capital stages speaking be some old be speaking she built two really successful podcasts back the back and for a lot of turmoil early leisure will be there they're going to be teaching how to build immediate empire
- 1:10:34[SPEAKER_10]: We got workshops going on how to build a content creation space for those that maybe don't want to podcast, but you see what's happening in the industry, but you want to build a business around itself, literally two jam-pack days and you get to pick your experience.
- 1:10:46[SPEAKER_04]: So good, and I'll be there for the fourth year in a row.
- 1:10:50[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, perfect attendance.
- 1:10:51[SPEAKER_04]: Let's go.
- 1:10:53[SPEAKER_04]: And honestly, it is a really cool, unlike anything event.
- 1:10:58[SPEAKER_04]: Do something I found.
- 1:10:59[SPEAKER_04]: I asked a CPA this texture, I just this.
- 1:11:02[SPEAKER_04]: I asked them Carlton, Dennis, I said,
- 1:11:06[SPEAKER_04]: is having a podcast, the greatest tax play to be able to write off a vacation.
- 1:11:14[SPEAKER_04]: And he was like, hmm, as a most tax strategist are saying, start a travel vlog YouTube channel, which like, you gotta go to the restaurant, you gotta go to the hotel and make a review, that's like, that's not fun.
- 1:11:26[SPEAKER_04]: But if I go to a city,
- 1:11:29[SPEAKER_04]: and I use podcasting to market my business isn't that trip a deduction and he said 100% and so I was like so if I go which I've been doing to there I'm taxidivating or I'm like playing this in playing the game he's like we can go to Cabo.
- 1:11:48[SPEAKER_04]: and link up in Kabul and have a conversation and that I was like so that makes that like one element in your business unlocks a whole unlimited opportunity of writing off trips.
- 1:11:59[SPEAKER_04]: And he said podcasting is the greatest business right off strategy right now.
- 1:12:05[SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely.
- 1:12:08[SPEAKER_04]: You can use that.
- 1:12:10[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I mean, and I just, I mean, making, putting purpose behind a trip for your business, but then it's like if we're going to have conversations anyway, might as well use it.
- 1:12:20[SPEAKER_10]: So I think you're going to, I'm going to run out of that for real.
- 1:12:24[SPEAKER_10]: So can you get that for me?
- 1:12:26[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:12:27[SPEAKER_02]: I'm serious.
- 1:12:27[SPEAKER_10]: You'll laugh at it.
- 1:12:29[SPEAKER_10]: I think you're out of it.
- 1:12:31[SPEAKER_04]: Awesome.
- 1:12:31[SPEAKER_04]: Yo, can we thank David Chance?
- 1:12:33[SPEAKER_04]: Come on.
- 1:12:35[SPEAKER_04]: All right, we'll have all the information in the show notes or the description, bro, you're the best.
- 1:12:40[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, honestly, stepping into this world talk about indirect benefits of putting yourself out there and one of those is just a relationship with you.
- 1:12:50[SPEAKER_04]: And thanks for speaking life into me, for believing in me, people saw publicly on a podcast who you really were with that one of the first episodes I dropped and you were like,
- 1:13:02[SPEAKER_04]: They're the workshop.
- 1:13:03[SPEAKER_04]: I'm like, yeah, but I don't know what to do.
- 1:13:04[SPEAKER_04]: And you're like, do what you do online.
- 1:13:06[SPEAKER_04]: Just do it in person.
- 1:13:07[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know how much to charge.
- 1:13:08[SPEAKER_04]: I was like, I don't know.
- 1:13:09[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe 500 bucks.
- 1:13:10[SPEAKER_04]: He's like, charge 500 bucks.
- 1:13:11[SPEAKER_04]: Just for whatever.
- 1:13:12[SPEAKER_04]: It's worth.
- 1:13:12[SPEAKER_04]: I remember I ended up charging five grand and like 12 people showed up.
- 1:13:18[SPEAKER_04]: And then of that 12, four of them joined my coaching program.
- 1:13:21[SPEAKER_04]: And it it turned it opened up.
- 1:13:24[SPEAKER_04]: Even the fact that I'm even here right now is because you saw something more that I had to take over a church to be able to house the next level of what I was afraid of doing.
- 1:13:35[SPEAKER_04]: So I just want to say you're a real one.
- 1:13:37[SPEAKER_04]: That's a lot of stuff.
- 1:13:37[SPEAKER_04]: There's a lot of stuff.
- 1:13:40[SPEAKER_10]: I got to clap it up for Omar Abra like, just come on, this, this guy's in front.
- 1:13:45[SPEAKER_10]: So you know, he's been don't for a long time and I think that's
- 1:13:49[SPEAKER_10]: I think I saw you and I'm just enamored at your information and how it comes off, not arrogant or it comes off really humble and just real chill.
