- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: We were back on the Almost Famous podcast with a
- 0:08Speaker 2: Bachelor Nation family member, a fan favorite. He was on
- 0:11Speaker 2: Tatious season actually, be honest, I didn't know that, and
- 0:16Speaker 2: on Bachelor in Paradise season seven. He's the winner of
- 0:19Speaker 2: HGTV's Bachelor Mansion Takeover. It's Noah, Noah, welcome. I I
- 0:26Speaker 2: mean I've obviously I knew you were on the show.
- 0:28Speaker 2: I did not remember you being on Tacious season.
- 0:31Speaker 3: He's so seasious with Paradise. Remember he was like all
- 0:35Speaker 3: up in what's his name is?
- 0:36Speaker 4: Grill?
- 0:37Speaker 5: The Harvard guy.
- 0:38Speaker 2: I feel like the Harvard guy was in his grill beney, Hello, no.
- 0:43Speaker 5: Hey, hey, thanks for joining us.
- 0:46Speaker 4: That was Ben.
- 0:47Speaker 6: I don't blame you for not remembering. I know you're
- 0:50Speaker 6: good buddies with Dean and you're rather being on here
- 0:53Speaker 6: than me. So you know the last few years of
- 0:55Speaker 6: me hopping on with Tayshaunclaire. It's like, it's okay that
- 0:58Speaker 6: that's a faint memory that as long as you can
- 1:01Speaker 6: remember me to win HGTV. That's what I'd like to
- 1:03Speaker 6: position myself now, is I want a winner?
- 1:06Speaker 4: Yeah? No.
- 1:08Speaker 2: I really love Dean and I would love to have
- 1:10Speaker 2: seen him win, but there is a level of you know,
- 1:14Speaker 2: I don't know if Dean could have won. He has
- 1:16Speaker 2: such a self deprecating way of being of living life
- 1:21Speaker 2: that like, I don't think he could have won and
- 1:23Speaker 2: actually accepted it.
- 1:24Speaker 6: Dean knew for a fact he wasn't gonna win. It
- 1:27Speaker 6: was just can he get me out too? It's like, Dave,
- 1:29Speaker 6: one of us is going to win, It's more likely
- 1:32Speaker 6: to be me because you're like, you know, they're bleeping
- 1:34Speaker 6: every other word. You don't even want to win, be honest,
- 1:37Speaker 6: You're here to have fun and golf a little bit.
- 1:40Speaker 2: It's a good way to start.
- 1:41Speaker 4: The skill was there?
- 1:42Speaker 6: That was That's what was fun about the show is
- 1:44Speaker 6: anybody could have won. It's like there are so many
- 1:47Speaker 6: moving pieces and we can get into that, which is
- 1:49Speaker 6: just it was anybody's game.
- 1:51Speaker 3: We're going to get into that because it truly was
- 1:54Speaker 3: anyone's game. I mean, Dean was eliminated with like a
- 1:57Speaker 3: coding challenge ookay, which I think he was a little unfair,
- 2:01Speaker 3: but I will say that because he won the first challenge,
- 2:03Speaker 3: which was like a coding challenge as well. Kind of
- 2:06Speaker 3: negated each other. What was up with your rivalry? Friendly
- 2:10Speaker 3: rivalry for sure? Was it a joke from the beginning?
- 2:14Speaker 3: Did you guys have a previous relationship, Like, I mean,
- 2:17Speaker 3: you know friendship?
- 2:20Speaker 4: You ever heard of lovers and friends? You ever seen
- 2:22Speaker 4: that song? Yeah? Yeah, so Dean Dean and I. I
- 2:26Speaker 4: don't know what his answer would be. We didn't plan anything.
- 2:29Speaker 6: We knew each other just from being in La golfing together,
- 2:34Speaker 6: but we weren't super tight and we both were kind
- 2:38Speaker 6: of like, all right, we're similar people. We're on this show.
- 2:41Speaker 6: Nobody knows what this show is. But let's just agree
- 2:44Speaker 6: that you and I will have fun. Let's just be
- 2:46Speaker 6: step brothers as as we can and have fun with
- 2:49Speaker 6: it and make sure we get each other to the end.
- 2:52Speaker 6: Then it's like all gloves are off. That was like
- 2:54Speaker 6: our agreement.
- 2:55Speaker 4: That's why, you know.
- 2:57Speaker 6: Dean trying to get me out early was like, dude,
- 2:59Speaker 6: that was so such a waste of a shot.
- 3:01Speaker 4: We're supposed to do this later, and then him to
- 3:03Speaker 4: go out on the mountain.
- 3:04Speaker 6: I couldn't even be the one to get him out.
- 3:06Speaker 6: It was like, all right, we wanted a duel. We
- 3:08Speaker 6: wanted me and Dean maybe naked on the mountain fighting
- 3:13Speaker 6: it out. You know, just whatever happens, that would have
- 3:15Speaker 6: been awesome, made the best man win, that would have
- 3:18Speaker 6: got viewers. That's what we wanted, that's what the people wanted.
- 3:20Speaker 6: But I blame Dean for screwing it up.
- 3:23Speaker 4: Dude. He buckled under pressure, mister no backbone.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Because one thing about Dean that I think all of
- 3:30Speaker 2: us here could attest to is Dean is brilliant. He's
- 3:33Speaker 2: a very smart man, and he has a great memory,
- 3:35Speaker 2: and he's very good at math, like he's a he
- 3:39Speaker 2: has a really like mathematical brain. It was really surprising
- 3:44Speaker 2: to me how he did buckle there. I'll say this, Noah,
- 3:49Speaker 2: when Dean got back from the show, he missed a
- 3:51Speaker 2: guy's golf trip to go on this show.
- 3:53Speaker 4: Oh dude. It was ruining him. Just so you know
- 3:57Speaker 4: him off the show he talked about like, dude, because
- 4:00Speaker 4: I'm like, I'm down to get to episode four.
- 4:02Speaker 6: He's like me too, Dude, I got a golf a
- 4:04Speaker 6: bro golf trip that I'm missing, and like, if I
- 4:07Speaker 6: play my cards right, I could get both.
- 4:09Speaker 4: Yeah, And he made it pass.
- 4:10Speaker 5: Like forget the one hundred thousand or two.
- 4:13Speaker 4: He was like, all right, I already missed the golf trip.
- 4:15Speaker 6: Now I'm here, so let's do it.
- 4:18Speaker 2: It was a big deal for him to miss it.
- 4:20Speaker 2: We give him a lot of crap. But when he
- 4:21Speaker 2: got back he had told me, uh right away he Goes.
- 4:25Speaker 2: I said, hey, how was it, Like, did you get
- 4:27Speaker 2: along with anybody?
- 4:27Speaker 4: Goes?
- 4:28Speaker 2: I really got along with Noah? Noah was great. I
- 4:30Speaker 2: love Noah. And then he he kind of insinuated that
- 4:34Speaker 2: you guys were friends throughout. But I did watch the
- 4:37Speaker 2: first few episodes and I texted him, I said, Hey,
- 4:40Speaker 2: is this thing real? Because there was a moment where
- 4:43Speaker 2: it felt like knowing Dean, he actually got like his
- 4:47Speaker 2: snick hated me, right, It felt.
- 4:49Speaker 4: Like it, Yeah, that's what I felt. Yeah, I was.
- 4:54Speaker 6: When I journaled, I put that, I'm like, does Dean
- 4:57Speaker 6: hate me? Because we're saying one thing, but then when
- 5:00Speaker 6: you know in reality, Dean's kind of acting like he
- 5:02Speaker 6: hates me. But my buddies were texting me the same thing.
- 5:05Speaker 6: Because me and Dean never cracked. Even with the showrunners
- 5:09Speaker 6: the EPs, they're like, hey, what's going on here? Like
- 5:12Speaker 6: they're trying to use it as fuel. We're like, we
- 5:14Speaker 6: don't know what's going on. But we're not We're not cracking.
- 5:17Speaker 6: We don't even know if we like each other.
- 5:18Speaker 2: We're serious.
- 5:19Speaker 4: Yeah, we don't know at this point.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Yeah, neither of us know if we like each other
- 5:23Speaker 2: or not.
- 5:23Speaker 5: We really we are confused for an episode.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I was because he told me how much he
- 5:29Speaker 2: like loved being around you, and then I watch it
- 5:32Speaker 2: and I'm like, Dean, I the thing is, though, there's
- 5:35Speaker 2: moments in my friendship with Dean that I think he
- 5:38Speaker 2: hates me. So I guess it's just the.
- 5:41Speaker 4: Way so sometimes Dean hates himself.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like that's true. No, No, I can't carry
- 5:47Speaker 2: that weight. Well, no, you did end up winning. But
- 5:52Speaker 2: let's talk about this show. We haven't been able to
- 5:54Speaker 2: break it down yet. We watched every episode through going
- 5:57Speaker 2: into it, you just maybe mentioned it. You didn't know
- 5:59Speaker 2: what this show, right, I mean, you had no idea
- 6:02Speaker 2: other than you have a skill set, come on this show,
- 6:06Speaker 2: remodel the Bachelor mansion. Is that about as much as
- 6:09Speaker 2: you knew?
- 6:10Speaker 4: I mean, that's pretty much it.
- 6:12Speaker 6: I had gotten a call from like, you know, the
- 6:15Speaker 6: powers that be, like, hey, this is a last minute
- 6:18Speaker 6: show that we're wanting to do. Here's kind of the
- 6:20Speaker 6: premise you down. I'm like, okay, the premise is remodeling
- 6:24Speaker 6: the Bachelor mansion, and there might be a tiny bit
- 6:27Speaker 6: of like some sort of games, like you know, some
- 6:29Speaker 6: sort of back and forth competition.
- 6:32Speaker 4: But no, I didn't know.
- 6:33Speaker 6: I just knew, like I've been doing this for a while,
- 6:36Speaker 6: you know, the the Homeer model space and gcing and
- 6:40Speaker 6: stuff like that.
- 6:41Speaker 4: So I'm like, I have a leg up. I would
- 6:43Speaker 4: love to see what the show actually is. If it's
- 6:45Speaker 4: just me, you know, building stuff, me and Dean doing
- 6:48Speaker 4: diy off, then that's great. But I don't think they knew,
- 6:52Speaker 4: truth be told, I don't think the show knew until
- 6:54Speaker 4: you know, midway, you know, once we were in it.
- 6:56Speaker 4: Then it was like, okay, we kind of we made
- 6:59Speaker 4: something here.
- 7:00Speaker 6: Everybody that they selected, all the cast, they were down,
- 7:03Speaker 6: you know, once they got past the fact that this
- 7:05Speaker 6: is HGTV.
- 7:06Speaker 4: It doesn't seem fair.
- 7:08Speaker 6: You know, a lot of the a lot of the
- 7:09Speaker 6: girls kind of had that impression. Once we got past
- 7:12Speaker 6: all that, everyone was just down to play ball.
- 7:14Speaker 4: And I am still convinced it was just rolling the
- 7:17Speaker 4: dice every day, like we had no idea, But it
- 7:21Speaker 4: was fun. It kept it fun.
- 7:23Speaker 5: I loved seeing you guys interact.
- 7:24Speaker 3: I love seeing some of my favorites on TV again,
- 7:28Speaker 3: and I love seeing them before and afters. What we
- 7:32Speaker 3: had an issue with the show, and you probably did too,
- 7:35Speaker 3: is that the eliminations were based on It was just
- 7:39Speaker 3: different every week.
- 7:40Speaker 5: There was no consistency.
- 7:42Speaker 3: Was that annoying as cast to just kind of like
- 7:46Speaker 3: not have a score system?
- 7:48Speaker 5: Did it feel unfair?
- 7:49Speaker 6: That was very annoying because you saw the first challenge,
- 7:54Speaker 6: That's the first time I've shown up in front of
- 7:56Speaker 6: a camera in three years. Dean's on his like fifteenth show,
- 7:59Speaker 6: He's done all this been off you know, It's like
- 8:01Speaker 6: he's comfortable. So for me, I'm like, am I about
- 8:04Speaker 6: to get eliminated the first day from something that I
- 8:08Speaker 6: just couldn't I couldn't add math, Okay, assue me. It
- 8:12Speaker 6: was just not my greatest showing. There are tons of
- 8:14Speaker 6: events like that where I almost got out again later
- 8:18Speaker 6: and it was like, these sure have to do with skill,
- 8:21Speaker 6: but it didn't even seem like the same comparison. It
- 8:23Speaker 6: was like, yeah, you almost had to focus more on
- 8:25Speaker 6: those because you could be gone, but you don't want
- 8:29Speaker 6: to win them either, because then you have to you
- 8:31Speaker 6: have the power to send someone home or whatever. So
- 8:33Speaker 6: it's like it was a completely different part of the
- 8:36Speaker 6: show that even was harder.
- 8:38Speaker 4: We all hated it because nobody was good at these Okay,
- 8:42Speaker 4: people were good. I wasn't good at these challenges.
- 8:44Speaker 2: I just didn't know what I wouldn't have been it
- 8:47Speaker 2: was it would have made I think if they do
- 8:49Speaker 2: it again in whatever capacity, it wouldn't helped the viewership
- 8:52Speaker 2: if we knew why somebody's going home. But it was
- 8:55Speaker 2: all like opinion based, especially when it came to the
- 8:58Speaker 2: actual judging. It was we like this, and we don't
- 9:02Speaker 2: like this. But there was things that they liked that
- 9:05Speaker 2: I didn't like. You know, there's just a thousand different
- 9:08Speaker 2: opinions getting thrown around the other side of this that
- 9:12Speaker 2: I think you could speak into and I think I
- 9:16Speaker 2: know the answer, but I would love for you to
- 9:19Speaker 2: elaborate on It was you did a lot of work,
- 9:22Speaker 2: Like the show didn't necessarily show you all working every
- 9:27Speaker 2: day to remodel the mansion. That was like very cut it.
- 9:31Speaker 2: You know, it showed the ideas some of the builds,
- 9:35Speaker 2: and then it went to the judging, but you were
- 9:38Speaker 2: grinding every day, right, like your hands were in it.
- 9:42Speaker 6: That's the part that I think is the herd. That
- 9:44Speaker 6: was the hardest part of the show is those timelines.
- 9:47Speaker 6: We talked about like, oh, yeah, you have two days
- 9:49Speaker 6: to finish. Everyone's like, oh cool, they got a crew
- 9:51Speaker 6: of thirty people coming in, and we just like kind
- 9:54Speaker 6: of fake work. That wasn't the case. We talked about it.
- 9:57Speaker 6: The guys talked about it because Sam's a bill and
- 10:00Speaker 6: Dean does dy for Kaylin. Right, we were doing every
- 10:06Speaker 6: day was about a fourteen hour day.
- 10:08Speaker 4: You'd wake up, you wouldn't go to bed, or you
- 10:11Speaker 4: wouldn't get.
- 10:11Speaker 6: Back, you know, to eat dinner and stuff until at
- 10:14Speaker 6: least twelve hours was up. And you know, six hours
- 10:17Speaker 6: of that is show stuff, but the other eight hours,
- 10:19Speaker 6: let's call it six hours, you know, was.
- 10:22Speaker 4: A full time job. Like that's what the guys decided.
- 10:25Speaker 6: We knew the girls had a lot of help because
- 10:28Speaker 6: they're not able to do all this stuff mainly that
- 10:30Speaker 6: we can do unless they have background.
- 10:32Speaker 4: So it was like me and.
- 10:33Speaker 6: The boys were like, Okay, we have one or two
- 10:35Speaker 6: contractors and they have six. Let's just treat it like
- 10:40Speaker 6: a job, grind go crazy, and you don't get that
- 10:44Speaker 6: much on TV. So I wish it was shown more
- 10:46Speaker 6: because we actually were doing the work, but it was.
- 10:48Speaker 4: A full time job that I wasn't getting paid for.
- 10:50Speaker 4: You know, you hope you're gonna.
- 10:51Speaker 6: Get paid at the end because it's one hundred thousand,
- 10:54Speaker 6: but it was long days.
- 10:56Speaker 4: It was just as hard to me of going into
- 10:58Speaker 4: the hospital.
- 10:59Speaker 6: I'm like, in the hospital, I didn't have to talk
- 11:01Speaker 6: to cameras and deal with drama.
- 11:03Speaker 4: After this is like.
- 11:05Speaker 6: You're expected to work all day, but then you have
- 11:07Speaker 6: to still do the show part or just you're gonna
- 11:10Speaker 6: go home.
- 11:11Speaker 4: It's like, okay, great grind, baby, you did kind of
- 11:14Speaker 4: have to.
- 11:14Speaker 6: We just had to agree, all right, we're just gonna
- 11:16Speaker 6: build as much every day that we can. Like I'm
- 11:20Speaker 6: actually doing tile, Dean is actually building his little furniture.
- 11:23Speaker 6: Sam's actually doing the bunk bed, you know, Brandon's actually painting.
- 11:27Speaker 4: It's like, we just worked. We're like, it's not gonna
- 11:30Speaker 4: hurt us.
- 11:31Speaker 6: You know, if there's cameras on us, that's better than
- 11:34Speaker 6: us just doing our own thing.
- 11:36Speaker 4: And it's not even getting credited.
- 11:37Speaker 6: So they highlighted that, but you can't highlight it too
- 11:40Speaker 6: much because the girls are at a disadvantage, you know,
- 11:43Speaker 6: they don't have the background.
- 11:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I wish I would have seen more of that
- 11:45Speaker 3: behind the scenes, just you guys grinding, because I'm sure
- 11:48Speaker 3: that we want the outing as well.
- 11:49Speaker 5: Yeah, definitely, don't. You always want every outtake from every
- 11:52Speaker 5: season you do.
- 11:53Speaker 4: The Pool episode was our biggest letdown. That was the
- 11:56Speaker 4: boys shining moments, you know, the Three Musketeers.
- 11:58Speaker 5: It was really good.
- 11:59Speaker 4: They call us on. We didn't show up till two
- 12:02Speaker 4: on set.
- 12:02Speaker 6: We got to drink a little beer, play putt putt,
- 12:05Speaker 6: Marco polo I led a.
- 12:06Speaker 4: Yoga class, We talked trash. It was such a fun
- 12:10Speaker 4: two days and then none of it really ill And
- 12:13Speaker 4: You're like, Okay, that kind of sucks. We want the outtakes.
- 12:15Speaker 4: We want to see all the the stuff that was
- 12:18Speaker 4: missed that HGTV just wasn't comfortable putting in. That's fair,
- 12:24Speaker 4: but it's an AHGTV show, you know.
- 12:26Speaker 5: You know what, I want to see the truth behind
- 12:29Speaker 5: the girl's drama.
- 12:31Speaker 3: Tell us about the fact that, like ma'am you, Joan
- 12:34Speaker 3: and Jill and Courtney and Alicia, the bait did it
- 12:39Speaker 3: get along and Tammy.
- 12:41Speaker 6: That's the part Tammy went home, so you didn't even
- 12:44Speaker 6: get to see that Tammy and all of them hated
- 12:46Speaker 6: each other.
- 12:47Speaker 4: The girl's drama, we didn't know. We didn't know. We
- 12:50Speaker 4: thought they were caddy.
- 12:52Speaker 6: We thought like they're kind of mean, Like we're all
- 12:54Speaker 6: joking around, you know, me and Dean try to get
- 12:56Speaker 6: each other out and talk trash the whole day. But
- 12:59Speaker 6: then you know, we're hugging each other and drinking a
- 13:02Speaker 6: beer and we're like, good day, buddy, love you, good night.
- 13:05Speaker 4: The girls actually hate each other.
- 13:07Speaker 6: We're like, this is there's two different things going on
- 13:10Speaker 6: here because I didn't know that until I thought it'd
- 13:13Speaker 6: be funny to like do Noah's Angels. And I'm like,
- 13:16Speaker 6: I'm kind of protected because if I lose, they're gonna
- 13:19Speaker 6: send home Joan and Alisha because Jill hates them, and
- 13:22Speaker 6: the boys are not going to send me home. But
- 13:23Speaker 6: if I win, I didn't realize that. As I'm trying
- 13:28Speaker 6: to help plan all this, the girls are actually like
- 13:31Speaker 6: just trash talking each other blatantly and then like saying
- 13:34Speaker 6: they didn't hoping they didn't get filmed, and it was
- 13:37Speaker 6: like very caddy and NonStop actually.
- 13:41Speaker 5: The real reality show that didn't are.
- 13:43Speaker 4: Well, that's the thing is, I'm like, I know all
- 13:45Speaker 4: these girls, like they're fine. To my face, they're all nice.
- 13:49Speaker 6: Nobody had like I knew they all wanted to send
- 13:51Speaker 6: me home, but that wasn't I didn't take that personal.
- 13:53Speaker 6: It's like nobody was mean to me except for Alicia.
- 13:57Speaker 4: But like, why is it?
- 14:00Speaker 6: So you know, why is this going on? Like in
- 14:03Speaker 6: how if you guys are so image conscious.
- 14:06Speaker 4: Which a lot everybody is, It's like, this.
- 14:08Speaker 6: Doesn't look good and this isn't even like the producers
- 14:11Speaker 6: aren't doing this.
- 14:12Speaker 4: This is you guys just not liking each other. Yeah.
- 14:15Speaker 2: Wow, it's kind of the I mean, it's why this
- 14:17Speaker 2: show works because no matter what you do and what
- 14:20Speaker 2: the format is, if you get the right people at
- 14:23Speaker 2: a house together, they're gonna fight. It needs to be noted. Noah,
- 14:38Speaker 2: you were at a disadvantage coming into this because you
- 14:41Speaker 2: had never been to the Bachelor mansion right before this show.
- 14:45Speaker 6: No, once I started realizing, Okay, there's more to this
- 14:49Speaker 6: than just can I be a good DIY and designer guy, Yeah,
- 14:53Speaker 6: we got to think about the show. We got to
- 14:55Speaker 6: think about like the sauna, We turned so the windows
- 14:59Speaker 6: would face, they could get cameras. There was all those
- 15:01Speaker 6: elements that they were looking for in judging, and like,
- 15:05Speaker 6: I had no idea. I don't know anything about the
- 15:08Speaker 6: I haven't seen the mansion in years, you know whatnot
- 15:11Speaker 6: on TV. And I never was there myself. So it's
- 15:13Speaker 6: like it was a disadvantage. But it helps me honestly
- 15:16Speaker 6: because I had clear eyes.
- 15:18Speaker 4: I just I looked at it as a.
- 15:20Speaker 6: Design and what I can improve and not like these
- 15:24Speaker 6: are all the pieces I need because I didn't know
- 15:26Speaker 6: all those pieces.
- 15:28Speaker 4: I was like, it needs to look good. I think
- 15:29Speaker 4: we can agree with that.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:31Speaker 5: I would have been like, no, you can't touch that.
- 15:32Speaker 5: It's sentimental.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Yeah, that's good point.
- 15:35Speaker 6: There were, you know, people that were like that in
- 15:38Speaker 6: like it was so big for the sentimental.
- 15:41Speaker 4: You know.
- 15:41Speaker 6: I signed my name on everything, everything I did, all
- 15:44Speaker 6: the bunk beds, we engraved their names.
- 15:46Speaker 4: We tried to put like a permanent.
- 15:49Speaker 6: I'm sure they ripped it all out, but you know,
- 15:52Speaker 6: there was a lot of nostalgia for everybody that had
- 15:54Speaker 6: been there.
- 15:54Speaker 4: I didn't have the nostalgia. I was just like, this
- 15:56Speaker 4: is so sick.
- 15:57Speaker 6: When are you gonna come to the Bachelor Mansion and
- 16:00Speaker 6: be able to rip this thing up and like make
- 16:01Speaker 6: it how you want it. So different kind of nostalgic
- 16:05Speaker 6: from me, but everybody was really nostalgic throughout the whole thing.
- 16:08Speaker 6: It was like, you know, we all hated each other,
- 16:11Speaker 6: but we all come from the same We're all from Bachelor,
- 16:14Speaker 6: so it's like nobody, you know, we're all just happy that.
- 16:18Speaker 4: We're here being a part of this. It's actually that
- 16:19Speaker 4: was kind of a cool part of the show.
- 16:21Speaker 3: He truly is a family.
- 16:22Speaker 2: Dean definitely had the most like heartfelt feelings towards the mansion,
- 16:26Speaker 2: didn't he Dean.
- 16:30Speaker 5: Are you being sarcastic?
- 16:31Speaker 2: Yes, he doesn't care about that. Yeah.
- 16:37Speaker 6: I'm convinced Dean was playing a game with himself because
- 16:40Speaker 6: he kept winning all these challenges and like somehow didn't
- 16:43Speaker 6: go home. You know, little cockroach is always there. I'm
- 16:47Speaker 6: convinced he was sabotaging. Like I think he just died laughing,
- 16:50Speaker 6: like he at night plays Xbox and talked to his
- 16:53Speaker 6: buddies and think about it, because he like did crazy
- 16:56Speaker 6: things intentionally.
- 16:58Speaker 4: The blue ceiling, the.
- 16:59Speaker 3: Merle that was because he had he had the immunity,
- 17:02Speaker 3: so of course he painted the blue.
- 17:04Speaker 6: That's what I'm saying is he hated the mansion, but
- 17:06Speaker 6: he like intentionally was like, let's just see what I
- 17:08Speaker 6: can get away with.
- 17:09Speaker 4: I'm convinced that was going through his mind.
- 17:11Speaker 2: He's he's one of a kind. Uh Noah. In addition
- 17:17Speaker 2: to kind of the throwback of you being in the mansion.
- 17:20Speaker 3: Which wait, first off, he was in the COVID era
- 17:23Speaker 3: in a hotel, which is why he wasn't there.
- 17:25Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, Lockdown, that was the first COVID but that
- 17:28Speaker 2: was yeah. And Tasha was your bachelorette who was also
- 17:32Speaker 2: a judge on this show. Was it awkward at all
- 17:36Speaker 2: for you to have Tasha judging your work after you have,
- 17:40Speaker 2: at some point in your life tried to pursue her.
- 17:44Speaker 4: No, not really, Honestly, it wasn't. I did think it
- 17:47Speaker 4: was funny.
- 17:48Speaker 6: And because she was leaning into it, she like was
- 17:51Speaker 6: intentionally trying to get me nervous or like, you know,
- 17:56Speaker 6: she ripped me a new on anything I did. And
- 17:58Speaker 6: they didn't show this in the show because there are judges,
- 18:02Speaker 6: But anytime she spoke, I'd like flash my wedding green
- 18:05Speaker 6: and say something yeah, And if she said, like you know,
- 18:08Speaker 6: if there was some like you said, it was preference.
- 18:10Speaker 4: A lot of their judging was preference.
- 18:13Speaker 6: You know, if you're gonna say something based off your preference,
- 18:16Speaker 6: I'm gonna say something based off of mine as well.
- 18:18Speaker 4: And I'm glad this didn't there because I probably look
- 18:20Speaker 4: like a douche.
- 18:21Speaker 3: But but you're gonna say it here only almost as
- 18:24Speaker 3: podcast for us, you know.
- 18:25Speaker 4: What I'm saying.
- 18:25Speaker 6: There was just as much back and forth coming back
- 18:28Speaker 6: at Tasha then there was her me and towards the end,
- 18:33Speaker 6: I honestly think she was great.
- 18:34Speaker 4: She was really nice at.
- 18:37Speaker 6: Like, I've been married now and I've been in Oklahoma
- 18:40Speaker 6: for two years. I haven't seen her in five It
- 18:43Speaker 6: wasn't like this crazy relevation revelation for me. But it
- 18:47Speaker 6: was kind of funny because if I was in no drama,
- 18:50Speaker 6: everyone was leaving me alone. You could bank on Tasha
- 18:53Speaker 6: to run her mouth a little bit. I'm like, oh, okay,
- 18:55Speaker 6: I gotta you know, we're still in this, but I'm
- 18:58Speaker 6: not just doing tation now.
- 18:59Speaker 4: So it was fun. It was just a fun little element.
- 19:02Speaker 6: Honestly, I think I think the show did a good
- 19:04Speaker 6: job with everybody they had on it.
- 19:06Speaker 4: Yeah, all the cast.
- 19:08Speaker 5: No, it just talking to you right now.
- 19:10Speaker 3: It just makes me happy that you have one of
- 19:13Speaker 3: the bachelor happy ever afters.
- 19:15Speaker 5: You know, you have a bachelor marriage, and I'm just like.
- 19:17Speaker 3: You know what, there's so many great bachelor couples and personalities.
- 19:21Speaker 4: I love it. How did it happen?
- 19:24Speaker 6: That's what I want to know. But it is awesome,
- 19:26Speaker 6: you know, It's like and we it's great. That's why
- 19:29Speaker 6: Dean and I do think got along. I can't believe
- 19:31Speaker 6: I'm talking about Deans.
- 19:32Speaker 5: Yeah, think about Dean Dean too.
- 19:33Speaker 6: That's why we got along is because both of us
- 19:36Speaker 6: had our little stint on TV. We didn't work out
- 19:40Speaker 6: on Paradise. Then we got back together in real life. Yeah,
- 19:45Speaker 6: and stayed together. And now it's been years and it's like, oh,
- 19:49Speaker 6: we are kind of like a success couple. From the
- 19:51Speaker 6: fact that I showed up six years ago as a
- 19:53Speaker 6: twenty five year old with the mustache during COVID, I
- 19:56Speaker 6: see you nursing, So it's like we've come a long way.
- 20:00Speaker 5: Him along, nurse.
- 20:03Speaker 2: Still nurse.
- 20:05Speaker 4: Yeah, once nurse, always a nurse. It's like the Marines.
- 20:07Speaker 6: Apparently, No, I haven't since I've been back in Oklahoma.
- 20:11Speaker 6: That was kind of like, I really I've did travel
- 20:14Speaker 6: nursing for about eight years, and I was trying to
- 20:17Speaker 6: do something else because I was honestly a little burned
- 20:20Speaker 6: out from it. And that's where like the remodel DIY
- 20:23Speaker 6: stuff picked up, and so I kind of I haven't
- 20:26Speaker 6: been in the ICU in a couple of years now,
- 20:28Speaker 6: I know.
- 20:28Speaker 5: Because that's what I think of you. I think about
- 20:30Speaker 5: you flipping your house, which looks so great.
- 20:33Speaker 4: It's just a difference, That's what I'm saying.
- 20:35Speaker 6: So much has changed in the last five years for
- 20:37Speaker 6: me that it's like just this show was unexpected, very
- 20:43Speaker 6: you know, we were doing this anyways. It was like
- 20:45Speaker 6: we got to go on I got to go on
- 20:46Speaker 6: a show for something I was doing anyways. So it's
- 20:50Speaker 6: like I'm just kind of rolling with it. I don't
- 20:52Speaker 6: miss the ICU outside of like that calling factor, but
- 20:57Speaker 6: there's so much more with being in the hospital now
- 20:59Speaker 6: that I'm like, this is such a great change of
- 21:00Speaker 6: pace for me that I can do something else that
- 21:02Speaker 6: I love and I can still always go back to nursing.
- 21:05Speaker 4: I still have my license and stuff.
- 21:07Speaker 2: Right, Well, let's do a couple of quick fires on
- 21:11Speaker 2: the show as we lead up to talking about obviously
- 21:14Speaker 2: the prize, which allegedly is more than what I made
- 21:17Speaker 2: being the Bachelor.
- 21:19Speaker 4: But that's a good little just just back to have
- 21:25Speaker 4: in there. Allegedly, HGTV is not as cheap.
- 21:31Speaker 2: I don't know what's happening in my life. I'm continually confused.
- 21:35Speaker 2: What was your favorite renovation project during the competition?
- 21:39Speaker 6: My favorite is going to be the mixer room when
- 21:42Speaker 6: I went back and did it, because it was it
- 21:45Speaker 6: was just there's so much to do and we only
- 21:50Speaker 6: had twenty four hours and I had one contractor, so
- 21:52Speaker 6: it was like that was the most overwhelming I'd been
- 21:55Speaker 6: because I had to figure out the.
- 21:56Speaker 4: Design, fix all Dean's design mistakes, and it was.
- 21:59Speaker 6: Just so many pieces into one short time period that
- 22:03Speaker 6: that I was actually stressed.
- 22:04Speaker 4: I was on like my second canniz in my tenth coffee.
- 22:09Speaker 4: I was just fully locked in.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Who got you Zen's while you're there? That's a that's
- 22:13Speaker 2: a hookup.
- 22:14Speaker 5: Well he was still able to live life.
- 22:17Speaker 4: Brother. You need to look at all the boys pockets
- 22:20Speaker 4: during the shows. There's always an out.
- 22:22Speaker 6: I might have had two different flavors in each pocket
- 22:24Speaker 6: on the show.
- 22:25Speaker 4: It was all we had locked in.
- 22:27Speaker 2: Yeah, good for you guys.
- 22:28Speaker 6: No, that was I think that was the that was
- 22:30Speaker 6: the most like accomplished. But my favorite was when me
- 22:35Speaker 6: and the guys did that same room but screwed it
- 22:37Speaker 6: up just because we were having so much fun. We
- 22:40Speaker 6: built everything we like. It was just a great time.
- 22:43Speaker 3: Yours is my favorite element with the marble background backdrop.
- 22:50Speaker 5: So nice, and thank you for in your.
- 22:52Speaker 3: Redo focusing on Jones whatever you want to call that,
- 22:56Speaker 3: because Joan is so wonderful.
- 22:58Speaker 5: I love her. But that was far There was far
- 23:02Speaker 5: too many textures. Holy moly.
- 23:04Speaker 6: It was either get rid of Courtney's fireplace which goes
- 23:08Speaker 6: all the way to the ceiling, and I have twenty
- 23:10Speaker 6: four hours and it is there's potential for it to
- 23:13Speaker 6: look like a vibe.
- 23:14Speaker 4: Nate loved it.
- 23:15Speaker 5: I like it. I like the fireplace, but next.
- 23:18Speaker 6: To Jones it was like and Alicia's child, It like, yeah,
- 23:23Speaker 6: broke your brain. So I'm so glad that I would
- 23:26Speaker 6: never do this in real life. But I'm so glad
- 23:28Speaker 6: I covered this really expensive marble with plywood and stained
- 23:32Speaker 6: it great.
- 23:32Speaker 5: I was thinking about that too.
- 23:34Speaker 3: It's like you have like the most gorgeous material that
- 23:36Speaker 3: just doesn't work there and you're putting Really.
- 23:39Speaker 6: I was there when we put it in two days before,
- 23:41Speaker 6: and I'm like, oh, this hurts me because I know
- 23:43Speaker 6: how much money.
- 23:44Speaker 4: We're wasting on this, Like what am I doing putting
- 23:47Speaker 4: plywood over? But I'm so glad I did. It looked great.
- 23:50Speaker 2: I mean that that brings up a question though that
- 23:53Speaker 2: obviously it was very expensive marble and it is covered up?
- 23:58Speaker 2: Is this stuff? We Ashley and myself got to see
- 24:02Speaker 2: the first episode of Taylor Frankie Paul season and honestly,
- 24:06Speaker 2: I don't remember the mansion much, but oh, thanks Ben.
- 24:11Speaker 3: We weren't watching it. We weren't watching it through the
- 24:14Speaker 3: eyes that we would never be able to watch it again.
- 24:16Speaker 4: We thought that you wanted to look at people's faces. Yeah, no,
- 24:23Speaker 4: they so we.
- 24:23Speaker 6: Got to do They did a big press event before
- 24:26Speaker 6: the show, okay, and we got to go back into
- 24:29Speaker 6: the mansion to see what they kept and didn't And
- 24:33Speaker 6: it's funny the stuff they kept, because that was part
- 24:36Speaker 6: of the guy's strategy was, Dude, if we can get
- 24:39Speaker 6: away with doing stuff that's permanent, I mean, there's less
- 24:43Speaker 6: likelihood that won They're not gonna be able to take
- 24:45Speaker 6: it down. And two, they're not go if it looks good,
- 24:48Speaker 6: they're not going to write us off for it.
- 24:49Speaker 4: Now we build around what we did that's permanent. So
- 24:52Speaker 4: like my.
- 24:52Speaker 6: Arches in the bar, I wanted them to be full arches,
- 24:56Speaker 6: not just that little cardboard cutout. But they said them
- 24:59Speaker 6: enough time. Those were nice full arches. It looked way
- 25:03Speaker 6: better than it did on the show. And like Joan
- 25:05Speaker 6: and Jones in the Rose Room, Jones pink the Candle room,
- 25:10Speaker 6: they did yeah, they roaman played over all that tile,
- 25:14Speaker 6: got rid of Courtney's art and put like the og
- 25:19Speaker 6: candle that art installation there, the metal one that's like classic,
- 25:24Speaker 6: I guess.
- 25:25Speaker 4: So they did make changes like that, but honestly, it's
- 25:27Speaker 4: it was for the better. It's like it. It did
- 25:30Speaker 4: look better. There was a lot more of that stave
- 25:32Speaker 4: than I thought though.
- 25:33Speaker 6: I kind of thought we just got our own show
- 25:35Speaker 6: and then they're like, yeah, good job, guys, and then
- 25:38Speaker 6: we go back and nothing's the same.
- 25:40Speaker 4: But it all pretty much looked. Would love to see
- 25:42Speaker 4: it on Taylor Frankie's season. I was really looking forward to. Yeah,
- 25:46Speaker 4: but I got to see it enough.
- 25:48Speaker 2: What about the kitchen, because the kitchen was such a
- 25:50Speaker 2: different change. They brightened it up so much with those
- 25:53Speaker 2: cabinets in the countertop. Did they keep that?
- 25:57Speaker 6: That kitchen was like there, that was the hail Mary.
- 26:00Speaker 6: There's nothing that changed with the kitchen. They were actually
- 26:03Speaker 6: doing all their food prep in there during the press event.
- 26:07Speaker 6: That kitchen was too expensive, it's too classy to change it.
- 26:12Speaker 6: And the fact that we got to redo the mixer room,
- 26:15Speaker 6: so it actually kind of looks like if it was
- 26:17Speaker 6: still the green paint Alicia's wall up, the kitchen wouldn't
- 26:20Speaker 6: look nearly as good. But we got to do the room.
- 26:23Speaker 6: I got to do that room before, so it actually
- 26:24Speaker 6: kind of blends. I'm not saying I'm the reason they
- 26:26Speaker 6: kept it, yeah, but it did blend a little bit better,
- 26:29Speaker 6: and the kitchen was all the same. It's a very
- 26:31Speaker 6: it's the nicest kitchen I've ever been in. I mean
- 26:34Speaker 6: it's really it's very nice.
- 26:36Speaker 4: Well maybe not ever, but it is definitely I think
- 26:38Speaker 4: I've ever worked on.
- 26:39Speaker 5: Yeah, sure, we want to talk about your mom. We're
- 26:53Speaker 5: so sorry. I'm so so sorry.
- 26:57Speaker 3: How did you How was that going through that process
- 27:01Speaker 3: knowing that back home your mom wanted you to be there,
- 27:05Speaker 3: and then you just had such a heavy heart through
- 27:07Speaker 3: it all.
- 27:09Speaker 6: Yeah, it's it's always tough to talk about this stuff
- 27:12Speaker 6: because I know for me, you know how it is
- 27:14Speaker 6: when you go on TV and you've got your own show,
- 27:17Speaker 6: It's like people get to watch what you've already gone through.
- 27:21Speaker 6: So it's like on TV it's like, oh, somebody sees
- 27:24Speaker 6: you having a heartbreak or marital problems or whatever. It's like, oh,
- 27:27Speaker 6: that was in real life eight months ago. Yeah, So
- 27:31Speaker 6: to kind of live it all back reminded me like, oh, shoot,
- 27:35Speaker 6: that was actually such a hard time for me because
- 27:39Speaker 6: I was battling between like do I let anyone in
- 27:42Speaker 6: on this? Yeah, because I just I really didn't want
- 27:45Speaker 6: that to be like a TV thing and like the
- 27:48Speaker 6: TV moment and it's like we're talking about my mom
- 27:51Speaker 6: potentially dying.
- 27:51Speaker 4: Like I don't care about a TV show.
- 27:54Speaker 6: So it was a really hard battle because I was
- 27:57Speaker 6: trying to talk to everyone back home and say like, hey,
- 28:00Speaker 6: what's actually going on?
- 28:02Speaker 4: You know.
- 28:02Speaker 6: Then I see the CT results, I'm like, what's going
- 28:06Speaker 6: on back home? Like I'm trying to focus on this,
- 28:08Speaker 6: and then I learned about it and it's like Okay,
- 28:11Speaker 6: I just need to start calling them, so I started
- 28:13Speaker 6: talking to my mom and dad, and.
- 28:15Speaker 4: They have different answers. Obviously.
- 28:17Speaker 6: My mom's very positive, like nothing to worry about, you know,
- 28:21Speaker 6: and all these things, and my dad saying like, yeah,
- 28:23Speaker 6: it's an ongoing, it's escalating, quicker, it's it's fine right now.
- 28:27Speaker 6: And she's surrounded by you know, ten of her kids
- 28:31Speaker 6: and twenty nephews and her grand kids. So it's like
- 28:34Speaker 6: if anything changes, the show was like, we'll fly.
- 28:37Speaker 4: You red eye right away. But I was like, you know,
- 28:40Speaker 4: she wants me to stay. Now.
- 28:42Speaker 6: This is cool because I actually have a reason, like
- 28:45Speaker 6: now I have nothing to lose, you know, at this point,
- 28:47Speaker 6: so I can do the best I can. I don't
- 28:50Speaker 6: want to let them down by leaving, also letting myself
- 28:53Speaker 6: down by you know, going home, and.
- 28:56Speaker 4: So it's it was really hard. I've did let people in.
- 29:00Speaker 4: Its kind of like you know, Sham talked to Courtney.
- 29:03Speaker 6: Actually we were at the hotel and I slowly kind
- 29:07Speaker 6: of let you know, the executive producers in so they
- 29:10Speaker 6: could run this show and I just don't screw the
- 29:13Speaker 6: show and do all these things.
- 29:15Speaker 4: But it was very hard for me. It was I'd get.
- 29:17Speaker 6: Home, you know, we'd get done working and then I'm
- 29:21Speaker 6: like trying to think about it and then trying to decide, like, Okay,
- 29:24Speaker 6: what am I going to do with this? Because this
- 29:26Speaker 6: is like my this is my dream right now of
- 29:28Speaker 6: being on the show. But you don't really prepare for
- 29:33Speaker 6: the worst news of your life, you know. So it's
- 29:35Speaker 6: like it was just hard because I was equally so
- 29:37Speaker 6: ecstatic and equally so heavy that I didn't want to
- 29:42Speaker 6: have to figure all that out behind a camera lens.
- 29:45Speaker 4: But I kind of chose it kind of made it easier.
- 29:48Speaker 6: I think after talking to some people and I've had
- 29:51Speaker 6: the you know, I have seen a lot of death
- 29:53Speaker 6: and have seen a lot of life as well being
- 29:55Speaker 6: in the hospital to where I kind of after talking
- 29:59Speaker 6: to the EP and stuff, was like, we could use
- 30:01Speaker 6: this as an opportunity to help people that might be
- 30:03Speaker 6: in the situation. Either way, I'm gonna be hurt, Like
- 30:07Speaker 6: if I go home now, I'm hurt. If I stay
- 30:10Speaker 6: and I can potentially help someone that their mom might
- 30:13Speaker 6: be dying or whatever the situation, then that's a win.
- 30:16Speaker 6: Like I kind of have to almost, so I don't know.
- 30:19Speaker 6: I worked through it all and just decided, and I'm
- 30:22Speaker 6: so glad I did decide to stay and do what
- 30:25Speaker 6: I did. Because the coming back and talking to my
- 30:27Speaker 6: mom and being like, hey, you know I won, and
- 30:30Speaker 6: I'm like, yeah, I go. You know, I was trying
- 30:32Speaker 6: to help her buy little things that she thought would
- 30:35Speaker 6: help and just make her comfortable and everything, and it's
- 30:37Speaker 6: like it was such a relief and a huge, a
- 30:40Speaker 6: bigger win than had.
- 30:42Speaker 4: Anything else happening.
- 30:44Speaker 6: Being able to come home and celebrate it just with
- 30:46Speaker 6: her and be like, yeah, I decided I was going
- 30:48Speaker 6: to do this for you, and I did. I love you,
- 30:50Speaker 6: you know, blah blah blah, and I got to take
- 30:51Speaker 6: care of her and it was really a beautiful moment.
- 30:53Speaker 4: But yeah, thinking back to that month, was that was
- 30:58Speaker 4: I mean, it was one of.
- 30:59Speaker 6: My hardest months and my best month too. That's why
- 31:02Speaker 6: it's just a weird. It was a weird time for me.
- 31:04Speaker 6: But I do truly believe it all worked out how
- 31:07Speaker 6: it should have.
- 31:08Speaker 4: I don't think there's anything I could have done to
- 31:10Speaker 4: save my mom, and I just I'm.
- 31:13Speaker 6: Grateful with how graceful they were. You know, they didn't
- 31:17Speaker 6: have to include any of that stuff. And my dad
- 31:20Speaker 6: got to watch it, and a lot of family and
- 31:23Speaker 6: friends that know her. It's like kind of a nod
- 31:24Speaker 6: to her. So it was really beautiful. Honestly, I was
- 31:27Speaker 6: happier about that than the win at the end, just
- 31:30Speaker 6: because it was like it tied the whole thing together,
- 31:33Speaker 6: and to me, it was like, oh, it was worth
- 31:34Speaker 6: it all the you know, maybe I cried a little
- 31:37Speaker 6: bit by myself in the hotel and how you know,
- 31:40Speaker 6: you're working through those emotions while on a TV show.
- 31:42Speaker 6: That was all worth it, you know, So that all
- 31:45Speaker 6: in all, very happy with how it turned out, very hard,
- 31:48Speaker 6: but being able to see the reaction and like after
- 31:52Speaker 6: the fact, you know, she she had passed in October,
- 31:56Speaker 6: so I was there for you know, a month and
- 31:57Speaker 6: a half with her and stuff. But after the fact,
- 32:00Speaker 6: everybody was positive about the whole thing, and it tied
- 32:04Speaker 6: into it because they got to see how I interacted
- 32:06Speaker 6: with her and how happy she.
- 32:07Speaker 4: Was that I stayed and everything. So it was full
- 32:10Speaker 4: circle moment. It was really beautiful. I think.
- 32:12Speaker 2: I think that was one of the things that I
- 32:14Speaker 2: wanted to bring clarity to was that you did get
- 32:17Speaker 2: to tell her that you won.
- 32:18Speaker 4: Yeah, I got.
- 32:19Speaker 6: I actually stole the briefcase that had all the fake
- 32:23Speaker 6: money in it.
- 32:23Speaker 4: I put it on the plane.
- 32:25Speaker 6: I took a couple like tiles from the mansion, some
- 32:28Speaker 6: og tiles, pieces of wood, like random things, and I
- 32:33Speaker 6: you know, showed up and was like, here's you know,
- 32:35Speaker 6: here's what all that was for. And she was still
- 32:38Speaker 6: healthy and happy and or healthy enough. You know, she
- 32:42Speaker 6: was deteriorating fast, but there was nothing mentally to slow
- 32:45Speaker 6: down what that momentum was. So it was like, yeah,
- 32:48Speaker 6: I did it, you know, so let's just make sure
- 32:51Speaker 6: you're happy and comfortable and surrounded by love.
- 32:55Speaker 4: So it was huge.
- 32:56Speaker 6: Yeah, not being able to tell her that was when
- 32:59Speaker 6: I said those words in that interview, I don't know
- 33:03Speaker 6: if my mom will be able to watch this. That
- 33:06Speaker 6: was like, I've never that was such finality to me.
- 33:09Speaker 6: I've never thought about that phrase because I'm actively shooting
- 33:13Speaker 6: something that's going to air not that long away. So
- 33:16Speaker 6: to say that and kind of carry that into going home,
- 33:19Speaker 6: it's like, I need to make sure every minute that
- 33:22Speaker 6: I'm here is the most I can get out of
- 33:25Speaker 6: this minute. So it kind of just added to that.
- 33:28Speaker 6: It helped, you know, the time back be even better.
- 33:30Speaker 5: Did you talk to Dean about that because he had
- 33:32Speaker 5: lost his mom.
- 33:34Speaker 4: I talked to Dean.
- 33:36Speaker 6: Dean and I, so the guys, I don't know if
- 33:38Speaker 6: I can say this, we didn't sleep at the mansion.
- 33:41Speaker 5: Yeah, no, I think you can say that. I think yeah.
- 33:44Speaker 6: I was just on a podcast last night and everyone
- 33:46Speaker 6: was trying to convince me we did sleep at the mansion.
- 33:49Speaker 4: I almost went with it for a second because I
- 33:51Speaker 4: wasn't sure.
- 33:51Speaker 6: But no, Dean and I did get to talk, so
- 33:55Speaker 6: I'm not trying to air out people's laundry. Sam had
- 33:59Speaker 6: it just happenstance that Sam's dad was going through something, well,
- 34:03Speaker 6: same show, you know, and I knew my mom was
- 34:06Speaker 6: going something, but I didn't.
- 34:07Speaker 4: Open up about it.
- 34:08Speaker 6: And Dean opened up about kind of his family, his
- 34:11Speaker 6: dad and his mom, and it's like, that's the thing is.
- 34:15Speaker 6: I was worried about letting people in because I didn't want, like.
- 34:19Speaker 4: I don't want I just don't like that attention, to
- 34:21Speaker 4: be honest. But everyone that was there was like, dude,
- 34:25Speaker 4: this is a struggle.
- 34:26Speaker 6: I'm either going through or I have gone through, or
- 34:28Speaker 6: it's like so we were all able to open up.
- 34:31Speaker 6: I think the bonding at the hotel that everybody had
- 34:35Speaker 6: just made the show that much better and It's like
- 34:37Speaker 6: I felt like, okay, cool. I never felt like I
- 34:40Speaker 6: was alone in the first place, but now that I
- 34:44Speaker 6: was able to let go of some of this and
- 34:47Speaker 6: people actually related more than I thought.
- 34:49Speaker 4: This is good.
- 34:50Speaker 6: And you know all the other casts, you know, they're
- 34:53Speaker 6: crying telling me about their stuff.
- 34:55Speaker 4: It's like, I mean, this is just a beautiful moment.
- 34:58Speaker 6: It sounds cheesy, it sounds kind of weird, but it
- 35:01Speaker 6: just you know, this is the perfect moment for everyone,
- 35:04Speaker 6: just a real, live, real life on a camera or not.
- 35:08Speaker 2: I mean, I yeah, it just I'm sitting here, I'm like, yeah,
- 35:12Speaker 2: it's it's interesting when you go on a show like
- 35:14Speaker 2: this with so many big characters, big personalities, but yet
- 35:19Speaker 2: you know, the very familiar saying everybody's going through something
- 35:24Speaker 2: rings true even in those moments. And I think that
- 35:26Speaker 2: was one of the lessons I took away from being
- 35:28Speaker 2: on the Bachelorette was when I was in that room,
- 35:30Speaker 2: I felt so intimidated by all these other guys sitting
- 35:33Speaker 2: in there. And then a few weeks in it's like
- 35:36Speaker 2: this like calming happens where you're like, wait, all these
- 35:39Speaker 2: people are very human too, and they're all dealing with stuff.
- 35:41Speaker 2: Also and from a TV side, you don't see it
- 35:44Speaker 2: always because it's not always shown, but it actually is
- 35:49Speaker 2: really beautiful when you sit in it and you're like,
- 35:51Speaker 2: these are humans who are trying to make it through
- 35:55Speaker 2: just like I am. We're all the same at some.
- 35:57Speaker 6: Level, We've all got on a different you know, like
- 36:00Speaker 6: guards up and how we you know, I laughed stuff off, that's.
- 36:03Speaker 4: My go too.
- 36:04Speaker 6: But everyone's has real life you know. That's what I
- 36:07Speaker 6: think the show did well. Obviously we're not gonna just
- 36:10Speaker 6: trauma dump the whole show and we're not gonna make
- 36:12Speaker 6: it a very emotional show, but everyone you got to
- 36:15Speaker 6: see real life struggle, real life victory, whatever. That's why
- 36:18Speaker 6: I think the show was good. It was like an
- 36:20Speaker 6: og reality TV. It was like kind of raw to
- 36:23Speaker 6: where there wasn't a whole lot of extra production. And
- 36:27Speaker 6: I mean, yeah, you said, you said it. Everyone else
- 36:30Speaker 6: is going through real life stuff. And I think that's
- 36:32Speaker 6: why I was glad I didn't speak up to the
- 36:35Speaker 6: like make an announcement to everyone like, hey, this is
- 36:37Speaker 6: what I'm going through. I didn't want that because then
- 36:41Speaker 6: after the fact, the people that either weren't nice to
- 36:44Speaker 6: me or were It doesn't matter. It's like everyone can realize, Okay,
- 36:48Speaker 6: that was just a show. I was still the best
- 36:50Speaker 6: I could. Good to you, and like I ran my mouth,
- 36:53Speaker 6: but nothing's personal. So it's like, yeah, it's good to
- 36:56Speaker 6: know everyone's human.
- 36:57Speaker 4: You know.
- 36:57Speaker 6: That seems like a funny thing for us all to celebrate.
- 37:00Speaker 6: But it's like, I'm the last thing I wanted to
- 37:03Speaker 6: do was suck air balling my eyes out, you know,
- 37:08Speaker 6: talking about my mom dying on TV. That's not something
- 37:12Speaker 6: I would enjoy to do. But it just seemed like
- 37:16Speaker 6: an opportunity and I'm glad, you know, I'm glad it
- 37:18Speaker 6: kind of aired how it did. And I hope people
- 37:20Speaker 6: take away everyone takes away different things. That's what I
- 37:23Speaker 6: think is cool. You're nod is like, yeah, everyone has
- 37:26Speaker 6: real life stuff.
- 37:27Speaker 4: You know.
- 37:27Speaker 6: I've had friends texting me like, yeah, my mom's also,
- 37:30Speaker 6: I've been she's been dying for the last two years.
- 37:33Speaker 6: Sin It's like that's a win to me. If anyone
- 37:36Speaker 6: can take whatever they want from the show, that's such
- 37:38Speaker 6: a win.
- 37:39Speaker 2: You know, you know you're helping people feel less alone. Well, definitely,
- 37:43Speaker 2: it definitely was a moment that I think so many
- 37:46Speaker 2: of us just took a deep breath and sat back
- 37:49Speaker 2: and said, Wow, there's a lot happening here, but yet
- 37:52Speaker 2: you won. And I want to congratulate you for winning
- 37:54Speaker 2: this whole thing. You when one hundred thousand dollars. No,
- 37:57Speaker 2: I don't know if you can speak to this at all,
- 38:00Speaker 2: but my first question is do you actually get one
- 38:03Speaker 2: hundred thousand dollars? And then the second is what are
- 38:06Speaker 2: you going to do with it.
- 38:08Speaker 4: I'm just waiting for them to tell me I get
- 38:10Speaker 4: like installments for the next five years two thousand dollars.
- 38:18Speaker 4: Now I haven't gotten paid. The thing with this money is.
- 38:23Speaker 6: So my parents when I was like, Hey, I'm gonna
- 38:25Speaker 6: win this thing, I was like, Mom, Dad, you can
- 38:28Speaker 6: buy a bunch of stuff, you know, for in relation
- 38:31Speaker 6: to the health thing. And it's like I was already
- 38:33Speaker 6: kind of spending some of the money I never had,
- 38:36Speaker 6: and now Abby and I are like, okay, I am
- 38:39Speaker 6: going to.
- 38:39Speaker 4: Get paid this year. That's actually allegedly often really cool,
- 38:42Speaker 4: you know.
- 38:43Speaker 6: So it's like we want to just use it to
- 38:45Speaker 6: wrap up all of the projects that we were in
- 38:49Speaker 6: the middle of and trying to do before we start
- 38:51Speaker 6: a family. It's like one more year of grinding use
- 38:54Speaker 6: the money towards helping build our family, get a little
- 38:58Speaker 6: let's let's just jump right to a kid room.
- 39:01Speaker 4: You know. It's like we're trying to use the money
- 39:03Speaker 4: to plan for the next stage, which would be you know,
- 39:07Speaker 4: a family and things like that.
- 39:08Speaker 6: So it's like, no, I don't have any money. I'm
- 39:10Speaker 6: not even sure if it's ever gonna come because I
- 39:13Speaker 6: show this in September.
- 39:14Speaker 5: But Noah, are you checking back in?
- 39:17Speaker 4: I know.
- 39:19Speaker 6: I would love it, you know, I would love it.
- 39:21Speaker 6: I'm not after taxes. It's gonna be half as much,
- 39:25Speaker 6: but I will gladly accept it.
- 39:26Speaker 3: All Yeah, okay, wait, how's your brother doing? Because your
- 39:31Speaker 3: brother we know from Gen season right.
- 39:33Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I'm gonna say which brother? Then I remember
- 39:36Speaker 4: your twin. He's good. He's good.
- 39:40Speaker 6: He actually called me yesterday. It's so funny. So he
- 39:43Speaker 6: commented on my post. I made an Instagram post that
- 39:46Speaker 6: was like, you know, ball my eyes out, my final
- 39:49Speaker 6: post about the show.
- 39:50Speaker 4: Then let's move on, you know, make a good finale post.
- 39:52Speaker 6: He commented something like, glad you somebody help with the
- 39:56Speaker 6: herb name on TV or something.
- 39:57Speaker 4: Somebody had to do it. It was something like that.
- 40:00Speaker 6: So he's funny because he's just finished his second he's
- 40:03Speaker 6: in fighter pilot training. Yeah, and you know he's next
- 40:07Speaker 6: year will be F sixteen's. He's passed two. So he's
- 40:10Speaker 6: so removed from the whole season and Gens season and
- 40:15Speaker 6: everything like that to where he's like watching me go
- 40:17Speaker 6: on another show. And I'm like just trying to convince hm, dude,
- 40:20Speaker 6: just stay off TV. You know what, both twins don't need.
- 40:24Speaker 4: To be on TV. This is what you do best,
- 40:26Speaker 4: this is what you want to do. Let's stick with it.
- 40:28Speaker 4: But everyone's doing well.
- 40:30Speaker 2: And you actually get paid doing his job.
- 40:33Speaker 6: That's the thing. I'm like, dude, you can trust me.
- 40:35Speaker 6: It is cool going on and winning an HGTV show.
- 40:38Speaker 4: Dude, you're flying F sixteen jets. You know it's it's
- 40:42Speaker 4: cooler than what I'm doing. Trust me.
- 40:46Speaker 2: Noah, congratulations though a huge deal, great work job, well done,
- 40:53Speaker 2: the winner of The Bachelor Mansion Renovation Takeover Experience on
- 40:59Speaker 2: a sheet no or coming to us live at the
- 41:05Speaker 2: Almost Famous podcast. I hope you get paid. I hope
- 41:09Speaker 2: you all celebrate best of luck as you do plan
- 41:11Speaker 2: for the future. It's as actually, and I tell anybody
- 41:15Speaker 2: that's looking into the next season of life. It is
- 41:18Speaker 2: something so special. I love it. But yeah, having one
- 41:22Speaker 2: hundred thousand dollars would definitely help. Let me tell you,
- 41:25Speaker 2: there is.
- 41:27Speaker 4: You know what.
- 41:27Speaker 2: And also I will say one of the secrets to
- 41:30Speaker 2: being a parent, actually, I don't know if you can
- 41:31Speaker 2: agree with this, is having a little DIY experience is
- 41:35Speaker 2: very helpful. Also because there are things happening in my
- 41:37Speaker 2: house on a daily basis that like, in a sense,
- 41:41Speaker 2: destroy what you know is around me.
- 41:44Speaker 5: If it's either is a little girl.
- 41:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I chip out of a cabinet. If it's a
- 41:49Speaker 2: cran on the wall. Currently she had a blast with
- 41:53Speaker 2: Greek yogurt this morning, and there's just Greek yogurt across
- 41:57Speaker 2: all of the walls of my house somehow. So, Noah,
- 42:01Speaker 2: a lot of your skill sets are going to come
- 42:03Speaker 2: into play as you as you start this next chapter.
- 42:06Speaker 4: Well, thank you.
- 42:07Speaker 6: This was I think my favorite accolade. This is my
- 42:11Speaker 6: favorite thing I've done on TV by far.
- 42:13Speaker 4: And it's great because my wife, yeah, okay, sorry.
- 42:20Speaker 6: And I are leaning into what we are doing and
- 42:23Speaker 6: what we love to do, and she's designed and it's
- 42:25Speaker 6: all great.
- 42:25Speaker 4: But the truth is, I.
- 42:27Speaker 6: Only know di y so I can not spend so
- 42:29Speaker 6: much money when we have kids that tear the house up.
- 42:32Speaker 6: I'm just forward thinking.
- 42:33Speaker 3: Your house looks so wonderful. Like, come, if I ever
- 42:36Speaker 3: buy a house that needs some remodeling, I would love
- 42:39Speaker 3: to have you come do some work. I should just
- 42:41Speaker 3: hire the whole HGTV back. But everybody gets one room.
- 42:46Speaker 3: We're not split in rooms.
- 42:48Speaker 4: No, don't do that. We learned what can happen when
- 42:50Speaker 4: three people try one room be Yeah, hopefully Abby and
- 42:55Speaker 4: I are in a place when we can do that.
- 42:56Speaker 4: That's the goal.
- 42:57Speaker 6: I'm like, let's lean into this. If it doesn't work,
- 42:59Speaker 6: you'll see me back in the hospital. No shade, you know,
- 43:02Speaker 6: it's just my dream didn't work and we'll try something else.
- 43:05Speaker 4: But I'm loving where I'm at.
- 43:07Speaker 6: I think the win was such a like carry it
- 43:09Speaker 6: with steam full circle moment for me.
- 43:12Speaker 4: I'm just super grateful, honestly.
- 43:14Speaker 2: Yeah, celebrated, buddy. Hey, this has been no herb the
- 43:17Speaker 2: winner of the Bachelor Mansion Takeover. Thanks for joining us,
