- 1:34- Welcome to the divine five one five podcast.
- 1:38- Here is today's prayer.
- 1:45- Hello, and welcome to divine five one five
- 1:48- daily prayers with Valerie Rocha. I am your
- 1:50- host,
- 1:52- and we are finishing up
- 1:54- this month's
- 1:55- series.
- 1:57- Talking about how one prayer can change the
- 2:00- direction of your life.
- 2:01- Scripture text comes from Jeremiah twenty nine thirteen
- 2:05- and says, you will seek me and find
- 2:07- me when you seek me with your whole
- 2:09- heart.
- 2:11- Well,
- 2:14- as one month ends, it's easy to assume
- 2:16- spiritual growth ends with it.
- 2:19- We finish a devotional series. We close our
- 2:21- journals. We move on to the next thing,
- 2:24- whatever that thing is. Right?
- 2:26- But spiritual transformation isn't built through one month
- 2:30- of prayer. It's built through a life time
- 2:33- of continually
- 2:34- seeking
- 2:35- God.
- 2:37- Now
- 2:38- I realize that this sounds easier.
- 2:41- It's a lot easier said than done, right?
- 2:43- Because you have to be intentional.
- 2:45- And,
- 2:46- I've often heard people tell me,
- 2:49- that they just don't have time to pray.
- 2:51- They they just don't have time to spend
- 2:52- with God.
- 2:55- But
- 2:56- the scripture tells us that where our heart
- 2:58- lies, that's where our treasure
- 3:01- is. And so
- 3:02- my encouragement would be to you to make
- 3:04- God your treasure because
- 3:06- you are his heartbeat. You're the thing that
- 3:09- he you the you're the reason why he
- 3:11- sent the son and the son gave his
- 3:13- life because he longs for relationship.
- 3:16- He probably wants to be with you more
- 3:19- than you want to be with him,
- 3:21- and,
- 3:22- that's just part of the the human nature.
- 3:24- Right? That's just part of it. But
- 3:27- nonetheless,
- 3:28- he wants to captivate
- 3:30- and capture us.
- 3:33- But
- 3:34- we struggle because we often look for dramatic
- 3:36- breakthrough while overlooking the quiet faithfulness that transforms
- 3:40- us day by day. Right?
- 3:42- And the
- 3:44- the passage in scripture that comes to mind
- 3:46- is where Elijah
- 3:48- is,
- 3:49- he's in a place of just being distraught.
- 3:52- He's,
- 3:53- done ministry and and,
- 3:56- feels like he's the only prophet left, you
- 3:59- know, on the on the planet, so to
- 4:00- speak. And,
- 4:02- he really just needs to hear a word
- 4:04- from God. And so,
- 4:07- there are some things that happen. He you
- 4:09- know, there's a earthquake and there's a fire
- 4:11- and there's this and there's that.
- 4:13- And yet the scripture tells us that it
- 4:16- wasn't in any of those things
- 4:18- that that, the Lord spoke to,
- 4:22- Elijah. And and I think the what it's
- 4:25- saying there is that
- 4:28- because of of how we're we're made, right,
- 4:31- and the distractions and and everything,
- 4:34- we look for the the big,
- 4:39- excitement or the the the big bang of
- 4:42- of life, right, for God to come. God,
- 4:44- I I I I I just need you
- 4:46- to come in the midst of all of
- 4:47- this. But let's
- 4:49- take a different perspective. Right?
- 4:52- If you're having a conversation with someone
- 4:55- and
- 4:56- it's supposed to be you and the person,
- 4:58- right? And the person's trying to have a
- 5:00- conversation with you, but
- 5:03- you're
- 5:04- not only not making any kind of eye
- 5:06- contact with the, with the person, but you're
- 5:09- up walking around,
- 5:12- jumping up and down hand.
- 5:15- You know, you've got the,
- 5:17- everything, you know, you're trying to wash the
- 5:19- dishes, you're trying to, you know, you're just
- 5:20- doing a whole bunch of things, and the
- 5:21- person's trying to have a conversation with you.
- 5:23- Well, after a while, the person's not gonna
- 5:25- be able to have a conversation with you
- 5:26- because you're not giving them all of your
- 5:28- attention.
- 5:29- And so,
- 5:32- if we go back to Elijah,
- 5:36- God was trying to show Elijah
- 5:38- that
- 5:39- he couldn't have the conversation with him. It
- 5:41- wasn't in the thunder. It wasn't in the
- 5:43- fire. It wasn't in any of those things.
- 5:45- It wasn't until
- 5:48- he had Elijah's
- 5:50- undivided
- 5:51- attention
- 5:53- that he was able to speak.
- 5:55- Why? Because Elijah
- 5:58- was forced to fight a noise
- 6:01- in his mind,
- 6:03- and that's what prayer does.
- 6:06- It it causes you to,
- 6:10- take hold of those
- 6:13- distractions
- 6:15- and minimize them so that your your energy
- 6:18- is focused completely on what God is saying.
- 6:22- So
- 6:23- every prayer is an invitation, and every invitation
- 6:28- is an opportunity
- 6:29- to trust God,
- 6:31- to give
- 6:32- your heart to him, to lay at his
- 6:35- feet all of the burdens
- 6:37- to surrender.
- 6:39- And out of those
- 6:40- obstacles
- 6:42- and that opposition,
- 6:44- an opportunity to grow,
- 6:47- to hear God's voice, and in the end,
- 6:49- to become more like Christ.
- 6:52- And the more consistently we meet with him,
- 6:55- the more naturally his presence shapes every part
- 6:58- of our lives.
- 6:59- And
- 7:00- because of it, prayer doesn't simply prepare us
- 7:03- for eternity.
- 7:04- It transforms
- 7:05- us
- 7:06- on a day to day basis.
- 7:10- So
- 7:11- that being said, there's some,
- 7:13- food for thought, if you will.
- 7:17- Take it and be encouraged and and know
- 7:19- that
- 7:20- you can do this thing. It you can
- 7:23- do it, but it it will take some
- 7:25- discipline
- 7:26- and some hard work. But in the end,
- 7:30- I promise you, you will bear fruit.
- 7:33- Fruit. It may not
- 7:34- affect the outcome. The outcome is still gonna
- 7:36- be whatever the outcome will be,
- 7:39- but the fruit comes
- 7:41- from being within you.
- 7:43- It will build your character. It will build
- 7:46- your trust. It will build your faith, and
- 7:48- it will deepen your relationship with God.
- 7:52- And
- 7:53- when we when we look at all of
- 7:54- that,
- 7:55- those are really the the treasures of life.
- 7:58- So that being said, let's
- 8:02- pray.
- 8:04- Dear Lord. Thank you for walking with us
- 8:08- throughout this month
- 8:10- and every day
- 8:12- continue teaching us to seek you with all
- 8:14- our heart and to trust you with every
- 8:16- part of our life.
- 8:18- Let the lessons you've taught us become daily
- 8:20- habits that strengthen
- 8:22- our faith and deepen our relationship with
- 8:26- you. Use our lives to encourage others and
- 8:28- help us to remain faithful long after,
- 8:31- this the devotionals
- 8:33- and
- 8:34- the podcast and all of the things have
- 8:36- ended.
- 8:38- We surrender ourselves to you again and again
- 8:41- today and every day, and choose to keep
- 8:43- walking closely with you.
- 8:46- And we bless you in Jesus' name. Amen.
- 8:52- This may be the final prayer for this
- 8:55- month,
- 8:56- but it doesn't have to be the end
- 8:58- of your journey.
- 9:00- Remember the thing called life is a day
- 9:02- to day thing.
- 9:03- And if you're ready to continue growing your
- 9:05- prayer alongside a community of believers who desire
- 9:08- a deeper relationship with Christ, we'd love to
- 9:10- welcome you into the inner,
- 9:12- chamber prayer community.

- 9:38- that we simply do. It's how we walk
- 9:41- with God every day.
- 9:43- Keep meeting God at the throne.
