Deuteronomy chapter 24 reminds us that God’s commands were always rooted in compassion and relationship. Every instruction in this chapter, whether about marriage, lending, justice, or caring for the poor, was given to help the Israelites live rightly with God and with one another. God wanted His people to remember their past, to remember that they were once slaves in Egypt, and to let that memory shape their actions toward others.
As believers, we too are called to remember where we came from. We were once in bondage to sin, but through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, we have been redeemed…
