- 0:07[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to the Dog's Podcast with your hosts, Lake Renaker, Justin Charles, and Josh All.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, what's up, Browns fans, welcome back to another episode of The Dog's Podcast, presenting by Manly Vans.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_00]: Josh All your hosts today, come and you guys, talking about everything from joint practices with the Carolina Panthers yesterday.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_00]: ahead of the Browns first preseason game tomorrow night.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_00]: So happy football.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_00]: Eve for the Cleveland Browns.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_00]: It's finally here.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_00]: We're finally going to get to see this team on the field, whether you're optimistic or pessimistic about the team either way.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_00]: You've been waiting to watch this team play some football finally because it's been a long off season.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_00]: We've had
- 0:52[SPEAKER_00]: all the free agency and the draft and the mini cams and no TAs and training camp already and all the stuff.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_00]: It's finally time to see these guys get on the field and see what they can do in a real game setting.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_00]: Now, of course, preseason is not really a real game per se, but at the same time, it is NFL action against an opposing team.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_00]: in a game situation and setting.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_00]: So it's still a great time to get an evaluation and start to see what some of these younger guys can do, the UDFA's, the rookies, that kind of thing, the roster bubble players, all that sort of stuff.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_00]: Now I will tell you guys if I look a little blot a day or sound a little drained up all night with the baby.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_00]: kid would not sleep.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: So therefore neither did I, but I will do my best to give you guys an episode that is nowhere near a sloppy as what the Browns put out in Carolina yesterday in their joy practice.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: So we're gonna dive into that here in a second.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_00]: Before I get into all the information here, I want to remind you guys, head over to join thedogs.com if you won't play fancy football with us.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_00]: Signups are still going on for the fancy football leagues, but the cutoff is coming.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_00]: We got about.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: I would say end the next week, most likely we'll cut it off maybe sometime the following week, but we are within the final two weeks at the most.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: For you guys to sign up to play fancy football with us because drafts are already being set.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: We've got the format set up.

- 2:22[SPEAKER_00]: Invites are being sent out.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: Get in and get a chance to win a championship t-shirt like the one I'm wearing here because yeah, I did win two of the leagues last year that I was in and Blake won a league.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_00]: Justin has won the C-two years previously.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: So get in, compete with us, compete with everybody else in the dog pack.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_00]: It's a ton of fun.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_00]: If you're looking for a fun fantasy football league to join,
- 2:45[SPEAKER_00]: The dog pack, redraft leaves are the place to be because you get in there and you're with other brown spans and it's it's competitive.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_00]: It's late-hearted though.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: It's fun.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_00]: We've got all experience levels.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: We've got people in their multiple people this year that have already emailed a message and say, Hey, it's my first time ever playing fancy football.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_00]: Can't wait to try it out.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_00]: And there's other people that have been playing for decades.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: It's, it's just a ton of fun.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_00]: So join the dogs dot com, get in there and sign up now for the fantasy football leagues.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_00]: All right, like I mentioned yesterday, ten a.m.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: The Browns held their one and only joint practice with the Carolina Panthers.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_00]: Rainstorm was in the forecast.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: It was going to rain all morning.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_00]: It was not an ideal weather situation to get a good practice in against another team.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_00]: Like this was a very big opportunity for a lot of guys because you're not going against your own teammates in practice.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_00]: Now you're actually going against another team.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_00]: The joint practices.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I feel like they're very highly coveted by NFL teams.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: They all do this as much as they can.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: They like to get together with an opposing team.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_00]: Have these practices together ahead of their preseason game against one another.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: And I think it's smart.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_00]: I do.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's a good idea because, you know, Jerry Judy can go against Denzel Ward and Greg Newsom every day in practice.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_00]: After a while, you start to, you can do that every single day.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_00]: You start to really just kind of figure each other out, figure each other's moves, you can kind of one up or you know, get a little bit of an advantage on each other, doing that kind of thing.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_00]: And maybe it's not quite as competitive in the sense that you're teammate.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_00]: So you're not trying to completely humiliate the other guy or beat them or you know, you're
- 4:33[SPEAKER_00]: You might hold up a little bit because you don't want to hurt the other guy joint practice totally different because it's you know Jerry Judy's going against JC Horrible.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_00]: He wasn't he wasn't at practice yesterday.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: He was in car accident unfortunately in the morning.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_00]: He was okay.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_00]: Just wasn't practice in JC Horan.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_00]: That is not Jerry Judy, but you know he's going up against the Panthers cornerbacks.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_00]: They're starters and you know he's one of the notes I'll get to later, but it's
- 4:56[SPEAKER_00]: It's just a different environment.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: So they really like to do these joint practices.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_00]: Now typically teams will hold two days of joint practices ahead of the preseason game in which they play.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: This week for the Browns and Panthers, it was just one.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_00]: It was just Wednesday's practice.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: They had training camp Monday in Borea, and then night what Tuesday was the travel day to get Acle, we know down to Caroline and then Wednesday's practice.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_00]: Now, if they were playing the preseason game on Saturday, which will be the case the next two weeks.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_00]: And well, really the examples next week in Philadelphia.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_00]: You would have your joint practices on Wednesday and Thursday, but since this week's game is on Friday night, only time for one joint practice.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_00]: Now I will save if you're not currently active on social media, you can look at this kind of maybe one or two ways.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_00]: The first way, you can be very thankful that you are not on your phone scrolling through X or Facebook or Instagram or whatever, because there are just so many fights breaking out online around this browns team and really the quarterback situation specifically, it's wild.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_00]: Or the other way you can look at it is manner you totally missing out on a good time because some of the takes out there are hilarious and the way people are attacking each other.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it is
- 6:18[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, okay.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: The way to look at this, and I'm going to get into again, I know I'm a little might sound like I'm a little over the place, but I promise I'll all bring it all together.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_00]: This quarterback situation, specifically with Shador Sanders and because a lot of the notes from yesterday have practiced pertain to this.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: It's it's causing a big rift and what when's the last year we haven't had a huge divide in the Browns fan base around a quarterback.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_00]: It's been it's been pretty much every year for a long time now.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_00]: And with Shador Sanders.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: There are people on both sides of the argument and sometimes anywhere in between.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_00]: And I'll read through some things and I see most of the time what people are using social media to do is to attack, degrade, humiliate, and one up another person.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: You know, somebody will retweet somebody's take or somebody's response to something and try to make them look or sound stupid without actually offering
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: their opinion on the matter like what's what's your take on it then so I read some of these people that put out their takes and give some reasoning to it and I can agree with people on both sides of this argument basically is what I'm trying to say here and I'm not trying to just be political and sit the fence on this one but
- 7:44[SPEAKER_00]: You can look at this.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_00]: I don't blame anybody for looking at this one way or the other.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_00]: So it kind of all starts yesterday.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_00]: Kevin Spansky has his press conference ahead of the joint practice and the big things that he really said, the big, you know, blow up statements on Twitter where obviously he confirmed should or Sanders will start the game on Friday night.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_00]: And then he said that in the game, they will rest most or all of the team starters.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_00]: So that kind of kicked off a whole thing like, well, I, you know, and now should doors getting already is going to be playing with second string, third string against the Panther starters.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_00]: Now, Dave Canales had coach for the Panthers has already come out.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: He said it like a week ago, they are going to play their starters in the first two preseason games, but it's not going to be very much.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: I think I read where they're probably going to play a few drives.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: to start the first quarter, the Panthers defense.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's not like they're going to play a whole quarter or the first half or anything like that.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to basically, should or senders is going to go up against the Panthers first team defense for a couple drives.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_00]: And the Browns are going to roll out their second string offense.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: Now, you can look at that one or two ways again.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_00]: There are people that say, well, they're just setting them up for failure.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to hear me say that a lot, because that's a big argument right now.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_00]: They're setting them up for failure.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_00]: They don't want them to succeed.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to give him this crappy offensive line, this crappy wide receiver core and all this kind of stuff.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_00]: And the Panthers get their first team defense.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that part is true.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, that is what is going to happen.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_00]: Are they setting him up for failure?
- 9:19[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, a lot of teams
- 9:21[SPEAKER_00]: We'll opt to sit their starters.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_00]: We know this from years and years and years past, like this is nothing new.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of teams opt to start their setters or start their setters.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: See you guys.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: I'm telling you.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_00]: I'm so tired.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_00]: Sit their starters in the preseason or at least in the first preseason game.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_00]: This is nothing new for the Browns.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: I think we do this every year.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_00]: And then there's that whole argument too, like, to show the starters at least get a couple of series like the Panthers are doing just to get the game reps, just to get back into the swing of football things, we can have that argument, but not on this episode, particularly.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_00]: So again, both sides of this can be understood, especially if somebody's willing to at least support the way they're thinking about it.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_00]: But practice went on then and just continuing to talk specifically about the quarterback situation.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_00]: Practice reps in camp, or I mean, at the joint practice were the same as they were the entire time in training camp.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_00]: Now people, some people seem totally blown away by that.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: Other people were like, yeah, this makes total sense.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_00]: This is just what they've been doing.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: And again, there's no like civil discourse on social media.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_00]: It's if you don't agree, then the other person is wrong and stupid.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_00]: But either way,
- 10:37[SPEAKER_00]: They go out, we already know Joe Flack was not playing in the game Friday.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_00]: Kenny Pickett, Dylan Gabriel, both nursing hamstring injuries, not going to play in the game Friday.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: Shoulder Sanders, Tyler Huntler, the only two quarterbacks that are going to play in the game on Friday.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_00]: So I think a lot of people were expecting or anticipating practice yesterday against the Panthers to feature a heavy dose of Shoulder Sanders.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_00]: Let's get him ready for the game Friday night.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_00]: Let's get him some reps.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_00]: And then when the first team defense came out for the Panthers and the first team offense came out for the Browns, it was Dylan Gabriel, or can he pick it?
- 11:13[SPEAKER_00]: Leading the first team offense or Joe Flacco, of course he got his first team reps, but he only really takes right for the first team anyhow.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_00]: So if I leave Joe Flacco out of the discussion or out of the mention, sometimes it's because I'm just
- 11:26[SPEAKER_00]: He's just a given.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_00]: Joe Flacco is just a given.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_00]: He is a starting quarterback for the Browns until, you know, it's said otherwise.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_00]: That's just how I assume the situation.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_00]: So now you got people saying, wait, and it now, can he pick it and Dylan Gabriel out here taking first team reps and they're injured?
- 11:48[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, and the national media specifically, they
- 11:52[SPEAKER_00]: They probably didn't really follow the fact that Don Gabriel was limited or supposedly going to be limited on Monday's practice and that ended up practicing pretty much the entire time.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, and they haven't been following the situation the same way that we have being exclusively Browns fans and Browns media driven.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Dylan Gabriel's, I mean, he's the guy, the Browns, if they could pick a guy to the, if they could just hand pick any of the four and say this guy, boom, magic one, he is ready to start week one and be our guy, they would pick Dylan Gabriel, one hundred percent.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_00]: You can convince me otherwise.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_00]: And it all goes back to, he has him and Shador both rookies.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_00]: They're both rookie quarterbacks.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_00]: Once a fifth round or once a third round or there's not a whole hell of a lot of difference between the two, if you just break it down on surface level.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_00]: Like we said, the other night's not like one of them was, you know, the second overall pick in the draft and therefore is getting priority opportunities and can't because he was picked to be the guy.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_00]: Neither of them will be picked to be the guy.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_00]: The Browns might have picked Dylan Gabriel thinking we want him to be the guy.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_00]: But your draft capital allocation toward him doesn't say that he was picked to be the guy.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_00]: Either way, one rookie has been handed first team reps, first team opportunities, despite struggles.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_00]: And the other rookie has not.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_00]: And is that a first situation?
- 13:16[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_00]: They're handling one quarterback the way any rational NFL team would handle a rookie quarterback taken later in the draft.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_00]: And they're handling the other one with a lot of a lot of preferential treatment.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_00]: It is what it is.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_00]: And for all the people that are upset, about Shador Sanders not getting a fair shake at anything right now.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_00]: He's the only one who doesn't seem to concern about it or doesn't seem upset about it.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_00]: Should or seems just happy at the opportunity, grateful.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_00]: He's ready to go and he's ready to prove that he is the first round talent that he was, you know, touted as coming out of college.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what makes this and I see all the people that say, you know, it's crazy all this context and all this talking and hype about a fifth round rookie.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, and we've kind of said that too since the draft, especially early on after the draft and everything, but guys.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_00]: We are kidding yourself.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_00]: If you're trying to convince yourself that Shador Sanders is a typical fifth round rookie quarterback.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you just missing the boat.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_00]: You're missing the point on the whole thing.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_00]: He is not.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_00]: This is not a typical fifth round quarterback.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm serious.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_00]: I'm, I don't, I'm doing a sweeping declaration here, but everybody had him as a first round talent.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody, everybody who breaks down quarterbacks or draft prospects and is worth a damn to listen to, how to measure first round talent.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_00]: Now, we have never really seen anybody who is a unanimous first round talent fall clear to the fifth round.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, there was the Malik Willis a few years ago where some people thought he could be a first round pick and ended up being taken later in the draft.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_00]: This is not the same.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_00]: Shstore Sanders was by everybody's assessment, a first round talent at worst, early second.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_00]: So let's just clarify that once again.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_00]: So this is a unique situation.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_00]: The Browns have a unique situation on their hands.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_00]: And they're taking the stance that yes, he's a typical fifth round rookie.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_00]: And now while I don't necessarily have a problem with that, if that's how they're going to do it.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_00]: But I do have a problem with them not taking the same approach with their other rookies, especially when the other rookie has not shown that he should be getting priority reps in practice.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_00]: And again, I'm not hating on Dylan Gabriel, I like Dylan Gabriel.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's a good kid.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think that he's got some good traits.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_00]: I think that he was a very good college quarterback.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_00]: I take nothing away from Dylan Gabriel.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_00]: He's just not ready.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_00]: If there were any other quarterback, any, you know, on any other team that was a third round pick came into training camp and was just struggling any time they got a chance against the first team, that NFL team would not continue to give that kid reps in training camp against the first team.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_00]: It just wouldn't happen.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_00]: So the Browns are doing things a little on Northodox in that regard.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_00]: and then like I said in practice you know you had these guys going out and getting the reps now Kevin did clarify and say like
- 16:33[SPEAKER_00]: You know, we know the younger guys are gonna play most of the game on Friday.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_00]: The joint practice, and again, there was only one session of it, only one day.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's not like they had two days to kind of divvy things up.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_00]: One day, and it was, he said it was to get the first team guys competitive reps against the, you know, the opposing team.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what they did.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_00]: They got their first team reps.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_00]: Now you can argue again, who should be and who shouldn't be part of the first team,
- 16:59[SPEAKER_00]: But the guys who are considered first stringers and that would be Flacco Picket and Gabriel.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_00]: You have to list all three of them as first string quarterbacks because they all take first string reps.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_00]: So they got their priority reps against the Panthers first team guys.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_00]: So it did make sense.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_00]: The way practice was structured because it's the way practice has been structured all season, all off season here all summer.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_00]: What was interesting is, and this is the part where I took some, I wasn't very, I'm trying to, again, I'm still tired here.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_00]: Let me think about how I want to say this.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_00]: The part that I did not agree with was some of the drills, some of the team reps, you know, they rotated typically four quarterbacks through them, but they had a fifth quarterback on the roster at practice yesterday.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_00]: I actually all freaking six of them are out there.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_00]: Sean Watson went to Carolina for this practice and, oh, whatever.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_00]: So it's time I'm going to say that.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_00]: But Tyler Huntley, obviously the only other quarterback who's going to be active for tomorrow night's game,
- 18:04[SPEAKER_00]: took some reps.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you can't just have this guy on the roster and say, OK, you're going to play in the game for it, but you're not going to take any practice reps.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_00]: You got to get him some.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_00]: I get that.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_00]: Like I, even though he's not going to be on the team, probably next week, you got to get him a few reps.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_00]: The problem I had was in order to get him reps as one of the four quarterbacks you had to obviously skip over reps for one of the other guys.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_00]: And the other guy that was getting skipped over was Shidorah Sanders.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_00]: He's the dude you've already, you've just said before, practice.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_00]: He's starting the game.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_00]: You got two quarterbacks who are injured.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_00]: One of them is a fellow rookie who has not looked very good in camp anyhow.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_00]: So they gave the two injured guys, one of them, an injured rookie who has been underperforming priority reps.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_00]: In the practice prepping for Friday night's game, overshoot or Sanders, so that they could get the practice squad quarterback who, like I said, won't be here next week, probably.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_00]: his own reps.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_00]: It made no sense.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_00]: Now that part made no sense to me.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_00]: And again, I think it goes to the people that say, you know, the Browns are really trying to push a door in his place.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_00]: They're really saying, you know, like, we don't value you.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I see the people that say, well, that's not what they're doing.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_00]: This is just the logical progression of things.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_00]: This is just the way practices are run.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_00]: I can see it both ways, guys.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_00]: I really can.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_00]: I really do.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_00]: You tell this guy that he's going to be your starter on Friday night and then you go through drills and the guy that's not going to be on the team next week is taking reps instead of you.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_00]: I get it.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_00]: I can totally understand where people are coming from.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, and it's not just me.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you got like guys like Zack Jackson from the athletic was there yesterday.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_00]: And even he was tweeting like, hey, Tyler Hunt is out here, getting reps instead of shadoring some of these drills.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_00]: I don't really understand why they're doing this.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he didn't say that verbatim, but that was essentially his, the gist of his tweets.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_00]: You know, he said, you know, Alan Niverson would say this is an important practice to get a guy ready for the game on Friday night.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_00]: And then you've got national media guys, like a Dante Samio who played in the NFL, uh, retweeted a video of Dylan Gabriel in seven or seven.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_00]: It's throwing a touchdown past a Jerry Judy and saying, I'm so confused.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_00]: Meaning, I thought this guy was injured.
- 20:27[SPEAKER_00]: I thought this guy wasn't going to play.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_00]: Why is he taking first team reps?
- 20:32[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, ahead of Friday night's game.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_00]: And it's another thing with Dylan Gabriel right again.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_00]: I like the kid.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_00]: I do, but people make fair point when they say, hey, he looks a lot better in seven on sevens than he does in eleven on elevens.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_00]: Why?
- 20:48[SPEAKER_00]: Seven on sevens.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_00]: There's no offensive or defensive line.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_00]: There's no pass rush.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_00]: There's no pressure.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_00]: There's nobody in his way.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_00]: There's nobody in his throwing lanes.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_00]: He's much better in those drills as expected.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what he participated in.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yesterday, so I guess ultimately here's how I see the bronze quarterback situation and I'm gonna I'm gonna move on from quarterback situation just talk the team here in a minute, but You got four quarterbacks only one of them has the potential to be the future
- 21:16[SPEAKER_00]: at the position for the Cleveland Browns.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_00]: It ain't Joe Flacco.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_00]: Joe Flacco is forty years old.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_00]: He will not be on this team next season.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_00]: It won't be Kenny Pickett.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, we, guys, we've just, we've seen Kenny Pickett.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_00]: It's not going to be Kenny Pickett.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_00]: Dylan Gabriel is not ready for first team reps.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_00]: And he's got just too many limiting factors to logically say this guy is going to be the long term solution at quarterback.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_00]: Now,
- 21:41[SPEAKER_00]: Is there a chance he could and he could defy the odds and be that guy?
- 21:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, but again, the odds aren't great.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_00]: So really, it's only Shidorah Sanders.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_00]: And that's where all the hype and all the excitement and all the online discourse stems from.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_00]: Shidorah Sanders is the guy who was graded as a first round talent.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_00]: He is the guy.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of people wanted the Browns to take it number two overall.
- 22:03[SPEAKER_00]: He is the only one.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_00]: He's the end or the NCAA's leading completion percentage quarterback in college.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_00]: He led the league like in passing yards and he had the most touchdown.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_00]: Like he, he's that guy.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_00]: If there's one quarterback on the roster, who can be the answer for the Cleveland Browns at quarterback, it is only should door Sanders.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_00]: And that's why everything around him is such a big deal.

- 24:22[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, shifting gears away from the quarterback thing, but again, that's, if you don't like the quarterback conversations and that topic, you're in for a rough time here this summer and really this whole season is Browns fans because that is the driving narrative for everything, everything hinges on the quarterback for any NFL team.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_00]: If you have a good one, then you at least have a chance to do something.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_00]: If you don't, forget it.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_00]: So that's why it is such a big deal.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_00]: Now, by all accounts, overall yesterday,
- 24:49[SPEAKER_00]: joint practice against the Panthers was not good for the Browns.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody used one word that I that I was reading online, you know, the people that were there and they were doing the reports, the one word that continued to come up over and over to describe the practice yesterday for the Browns is exactly what I said at the top of the show, sloppy, very sloppy practice.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_00]: So many pre-snap penalties yesterday.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they're like, Daniel, if you see anything, some of these guys are breaking down like play by play saying, hey, you know, Joe Flacco took this rep.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_00]: It was a hand off to Jerome Ford and then it was a short gain or stuff that the line called back due to penalty.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_00]: Or it was, you know, Dylan gave you a short pass out to the flat to Jamari Thrash called back by penalty.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_00]: So many of the plays had that little note at the end called back due to penalty.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_00]: We had off-sides.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_00]: We had fall starts.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_00]: We had all kinds of crap.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_00]: Pre-snap penalties once again from this team.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_00]: And it's so Mac, Mac, Blank on Twitter, put out this post the other day.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_00]: And I had already said something too.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't realize they went back this far.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_00]: I said the Browns led the league in Pre-snap penalties the last two years in a row.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_00]: And Mac won even further going all the way back to the twenty-twenty, which is Kevin's defense.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_00]: He's first season has had coach here.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_00]: The Browns have been top five in pre-snap penalties, four out of five of Kevin's years here in Cleveland.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_00]: Four out of five, eight percent of the time so far of Kevin Smith's career in Cleveland as the head coach.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_00]: This team has been one of the league leaders in pre-snap penalties.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_00]: That means we are not disciplined.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_00]: That means we are not paying attention.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_00]: We are not focused.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_00]: And it goes back to coaching.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I know the coaches aren't out there telling guys to hold or jump off sides or whatever.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_00]: but penalties are a coaching thing.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_00]: You iron these things out in practice.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_00]: Excuse me, other NFL teams don't seem to have a problem with it.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_00]: Some do.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_00]: Some do, but I don't want to be like the ones that do.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_00]: I want to be like the teams that don't.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_00]: Going back to the twenty twenty, the Browns were second in the lead in preaching that penalties with forty six.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_00]: The following year in twenty twenty one, they were third with forty six again.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_00]: In twenty twenty two was the loan outlier.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_00]: They were twenty fourth.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_00]: down toward, you know, in the second half of the league for once with just twenty eight and then they bounce back in a bad way in twenty twenty three led the league with fifty four pre-snap penalties in the last year.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_00]: They took the cake top themselves did everything they could to be number one again with sixty one pre-snap penalties.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_00]: It's terrible.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_00]: This
- 27:27[SPEAKER_00]: This stuff has to stop.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_00]: The problem is it's not going to.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think anyway.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_00]: I think tomorrow night when we watch the game, we are going to be frustrated collectively as a fan base at how many penalties this team is going to incur.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_00]: Offsides, um, alignment of, you know, can't even think of the turns right now.
- 27:48[SPEAKER_00]: My brain is fogged up, but you know what I'm saying?
- 27:51[SPEAKER_00]: When they don't line up correctly, illegal formation.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_00]: That's the one that's what I was looking for.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_00]: illegal formations, offsides holding our offense is going to be in second and long, first and long, more than we're going to like to see.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_00]: I just, I'm predicting that.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's going to be bad.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_00]: there was a video then so we want to talk about you know quarterback obviously it's going to be should-or-standers from most again in Marnight or at least it should be maybe I'll talk about that here in a second I remember but he's going to get second third team offensive lineman throughout the game
- 28:23[SPEAKER_00]: So there was a video of Panthers rookie defensive tackle, Cam Jackson, completely obliterating one of our offensive linemen in a one on one drill.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, just put our dude on his rum like boom, smash this guy to the ground and it's like
- 28:40[SPEAKER_00]: Holy crap, that is, and that's a sack like it's as soon as the quarterback takes the snap he's on the ground.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_00]: The funny part about this is the Brown's lineman that got humiliated in this drill was number sixty two.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_00]: And I went and looked and when you go check out the Brown's death chart or not or the roster listing on their website.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_00]: There is no number sixty-two on the team.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_00]: So I have no idea of no clue who this dude was, who this offensive lineman for the Browns was, who got smashed in this drill.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_00]: But he could very well be one of the lineman playing with Shador tomorrow night, so just keep that in mind.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_00]: There were highlight videos and again, not many coming from the Brown side of things.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_00]: But I went and I followed, you know, some of the, um, the Panthers beat writers and reporters that were there at the practice yesterday and what they were posting.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_00]: Bryce Young, uh, Tet McMillan had some nice plays against our defense, the Tet McMillan, the rookie out of Arizona.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_00]: Um, a guy that, you know, probably, I mean, the Browns easily could have had, I think he went white eight overall to the to the Panthers.
- 29:40[SPEAKER_00]: And, uh, see, I hit a nice touchdown grab against our first team.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, a couple other big plays.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_00]: Um,
- 29:48[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, Jerry Judy on a positive note, I mentioned him a little bit earlier, but Jerry Judy continues to look very good, very, very dominant out there had some big plays.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_00]: He did have a, I think, a long touchdown or something from Joe Flacco, one point against the opposing defense yesterday.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_00]: I don't really know what drill that is.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not sure if there were already touchdowns in the stat tracker.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_00]: I don't even care.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_00]: Don't even care.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_00]: Doesn't matter.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_00]: But Jerry Judy continues to shine, and he is going to probably be the lone bright spot at the Wider Sea Recre.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_00]: I think that, you know, we're all excited for Senator Tillman.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_00]: And I think he's going to have some nice moments.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if he puts together an overall nice, twenty twenty five campaign.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see, to Murray thrash, running with the ones.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_00]: So he is listed as that starting slot receiver.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_00]: And I saw one of the national media people said, you know, it's interesting, you know, to Murray thrash listed as starting slot receiver instead of Deonte Johnson.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_00]: Deonte Johnson's not a slot receiver.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_00]: We've covered this.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_00]: Fourteen percent of his career routes have been run from the slot.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_00]: That's at eighty six percent of Deonte Johnson's career routes have been run from the outside.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_00]: Deonte Johnson isn't outside receiver.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_00]: He is not a slot receiver.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_00]: So he is competing for targets and reps and things like that.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_00]: Snaps with the other outside receivers, which is the number one primary outside receiver is that her tailman runs the majority of his snaps from outside though.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_00]: He does run more slots.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_00]: Snaps than even Deonte does, and then Jerry judges about a fifty-fifty split.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_00]: So just kind of understanding what role these wide receivers play just because Deonte Johnson is a good route runner.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_00]: does not mean that he is a slot receiver does not mean that he is going to dominate and that's not where he plays the best at and that's not where he's been utilized throughout his career.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_00]: So kind of touching one more time here in this quarterback situation for tomorrow night.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_00]: Shoulder Sanders and I want to say this now ahead of the game, obviously, because we don't know exactly how this is going to play out.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_00]: But in my opinion, I mean, shoulder Sanders should play the entire game.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_00]: He is the only quarter active quarterback tomorrow night who's going to be on the roster.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_00]: Tyler Huntley is not going to be on this team.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_00]: There's no points in my opinion.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_00]: To give Tyler Huntley snaps in a game, whenever you have this rookie quarterback who really could use them, like he needs the time, he needs the reps, he needs the snaps, he should play the entire game.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_00]: At minimum Shador Sanders should play three quarters of the game tomorrow night.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_00]: If he plays any less, then three quarters.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I don't think the Browns are going to do this.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_00]: It would be really stupid for them to do it, but if they gave Shador the first half in Tyler Huntley the entire second half, then you know.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_00]: that Shodor is just not in the cards for the Browns this year.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_00]: And as much as that might suck to hear as Browns fan is hoping for him to be the guy or to get an opportunity.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of the situation.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_00]: He's that Jackson was, you know, his big thing yesterday said, you know, the Browns said they're going to start Shodor on Friday, but they've also confirmed that the quarterback competition continues between Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and Dylan Gabriel, which is Dorsanders as they clear fourth option.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_00]: And I talked about that in the breakdown of how things went at practice, yesterday.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_00]: So that's just something to watch out for tomorrow night.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_00]: How long does should we get to play again?
- 33:03[SPEAKER_00]: I believe it should be the entire game.
- 33:05[SPEAKER_00]: I don't see any reason not to unless you're just trying to not burn the guy out or he's getting, you know, obliterated out there or whatever the case may be, but the kid needs reps.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_00]: He needs snaps and this is a perfect opportunity to get them.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't see the point in using Tyler Huntley unless you absolutely have to.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_00]: Again,
- 33:25[SPEAKER_00]: logic and that kind of stuff, not always the Browns forte when it comes to these sort of things.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_00]: We know that
- 33:34[SPEAKER_00]: But we'll see, we'll see how the game goes again.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_00]: Prepare four.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_00]: It was, again, by all accounts, a very sloppy practice against the Panthers.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_00]: So therefore, I would just caution you guys, prepare for a very sloppy game against the Panthers, especially since we're not going to have our first teamers out there.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_00]: And if our first teamers look sloppy and practice yesterday, you can just trickle that down heavily to the second and third string guys.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_00]: They are going to be very sloppy.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_00]: Tomorrow night, I do predict that shit or Sanders is going to have some good moments.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_00]: I also think he's going to have some bad offensive line moments.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to get pressured.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_00]: I think that there's going to be just
- 34:15[SPEAKER_00]: If you're not on social media, just continue to stay off at tomorrow night during the game.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_00]: And if you are on it, just enjoy the ride because people are going to be all over the map emotionally during this game.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be probably the most watched preseason game this season.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I think that everybody across the
- 34:33[SPEAKER_00]: nation, because there's just so many should door Sanders fans and just people that are interested in him as a prospect that are going to be tuning into this game and the Browns are going to end up in NFL Network.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to be on the national spotlight.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_00]: So again, if we're super sloppy and we look really bad out there, it's it's going to get talked about a lot and yeah, so just be ready for that.
- 34:58[SPEAKER_00]: One last thing, and I know this has been a, hasn't exactly been the most positive episode, but there wasn't a whole lot of positive notes coming from the practice yesterday.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_00]: I think the run game could struggle yet again.
- 35:08[SPEAKER_00]: It sounded like the run game was struggling in practice yesterday.
- 35:11[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what we talked about during training camp up to this point.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_00]: We've only had a handful of sessions in pads where they can actually hit.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_00]: We have no idea what the run game really looks like.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_00]: because there's no tackling, there's no contact.
- 35:26[SPEAKER_00]: You know, a guy gets to the line and the defensive linemen just kind of have to hands off, you know, the linebackers hands off and the, you know, the running backs are always running down the field to end the, to end the rep.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_00]: We don't really know coming out of our own training camp, what the running game looks like, but we do know from yesterday and joint practice, the running game would not good.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_00]: There was a lot of
- 35:47[SPEAKER_00]: And I know I, I, I, uh, gang up on the guy quite a bit here, but there was a lot of stuff to run for drone Ford notes from yesterday.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_00]: And if we're running out there with drone Ford, and it's going to be, I mean, with Shador, it's going to be pair strong.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_00]: And what's the UDFA's, UDFA's name, our money, Marshall or something like that?
- 36:09[SPEAKER_00]: That's who you're looking at tomorrow night.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_00]: for the Browns run game.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's going to be bad.
- 36:13[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's going to be really rough.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't want to get too far ahead of myself, but it could be indicative of another season with struggles in the run game for this team.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_00]: I hope I'm wrong.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_00]: But that's the general feeling I'm getting right now, especially with Quinshan Judd can still nobody freaking knows.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_00]: Haven't heard a word about Quinshan Judd can's in that legal situation.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_00]: What's going on?
- 36:37[SPEAKER_00]: There's been no progress as far as anyone has reported.
- 36:41[SPEAKER_00]: Don't know what's going on.
- 36:43[SPEAKER_00]: It's just not exactly going to plan, you know, to say at least for the Browns.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_00]: All right, guys.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_00]: Again, I just wanted to get in here.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_00]: Give you guys some updates from, you know, the practice yesterday.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_00]: It was a big deal.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you fought.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_00]: It's the first time this entire year.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_00]: You get away from practicing and get your own team and you finally get to go against another team.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_00]: So it's all of this is worth talking about.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_00]: It's all worth noting because it is a big deal.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry, I just, I started scrolling here to make sure I wasn't missing anything before I wrapped this up.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_00]: Some other notes, Zack Center, the Browns third round pick last year, offensive guard, did not make the trip to Carolina will not play tomorrow night because of an injury.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_00]: I did not see what the injury is listed as, but
- 37:30[SPEAKER_00]: That's not great.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_00]: That's a guy that we're hoping, you know, can develop and, you know, eventually be a starting member of the offensive line in the future.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_00]: I believe that's what he was drafted to be as a third round pick out a Michigan last year.
- 37:41[SPEAKER_00]: But again, he was drafted after an injury.
- 37:44[SPEAKER_00]: He had an injury, you know, situation last year.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_00]: Now he's injured again.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_00]: Just not sounding good for Zinter.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_00]: Muhammadia Body and Pierre Strong.
- 37:51[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so I'm sorry.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_00]: Anything I said about Pierre Strong from yesterday was wrong.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_00]: Pierre Strong did not practice.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_00]: Muhammadia Body did not practice.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_00]: So what I was thinking was it was a drone forward yesterday that was getting stuff to live and then it was on our money Marshall and I'm trying to think I don't know if I even saw really any other callouts for any running batch yesterday.
- 38:10[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't really see anything from to a tile or have you say his name?
- 38:14[SPEAKER_00]: He was obviously there practicing but he's just kind of a camp guy too.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_00]: Greg Newsom was there yesterday at practice but did not participate in drills.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_00]: He's still nursing that shoulder injury.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously he's not playing the marina so that doesn't matter.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_00]: This note from Zach Jackson, Judy was the best and most targeted receiver.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_00]: Nothing new there.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_00]: That's exactly what we expect and then the other note here that he has.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_00]: Not surprising, not encouraging, but not surprising, because David and Joker had multiple drops.
- 38:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I did see a lot of that in the listing of the play break down.
- 38:49[SPEAKER_00]: It was Joe Flacco, you know, short pass in the end zone to David and Joker dropped.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_00]: I saw a video, David and Joker hit him in the hands, dropped.
- 38:58[SPEAKER_00]: I know it was raining yesterday but do chief we love you man come on we love you David you're you're awesome you're due you're Cleveland through through you got hold on the freaking ball man has been a problem his entire career if you want another positive note though uh Prince Lee I mean how do you say this kid's last name union union mailin rookie out of
- 39:21[SPEAKER_00]: UCLA.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_00]: I think I think he was the UCLA rookie defense event going against the Juan Jones here in a team drill and the Juan Jones looks good.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_00]: The Juan Jones looks light on his feet.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_00]: He looks quick and obviously looks big because I mean he's six foot eight, you know, three hundred some pounds.
- 39:39[SPEAKER_00]: Like he three hundred fifty pounds.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_00]: He did do just massive.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_00]: But for him, his frame, his body, he is slim down and he looks very fast.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_00]: And as long as the Juan Jones can stay healthy, I do think there's a chance that he could be the answer at left tackle for the Cleveland Brown.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm excited to see, I don't know if the Juan Jones is going to start tomorrow night.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_00]: Again, Kevin didn't say all the starters are sitting out.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_00]: And I would imagine that a guy like the Juan Jones could use those live game reps at a position that he's not familiar with and they're trying to get him up to speed and ready for the season.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully he starts the game.
- 40:12[SPEAKER_00]: I would like to see him regardless of who's playing quarterback.
- 40:15[SPEAKER_00]: I just want to see I want to make sure that DeWan Jones can be that guy for the Browns this year.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_00]: All right, so that's pretty much it.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see how the game goes tomorrow.
