Transcript
- 0:05hello everybody.
- 0:05Welcome back to Adult Child of Dysfunction.
- 0:08Before preparing for this conversation, I knew a little bit about the lymphatic system, but definitely not as much as I probably should have.
- 0:15We know we all have lymph nodes.
- 0:17When you get sick, they get swollen, and I knew it was part of the circulatory system, and I also knew that it didn't have its own pump.
- 0:24So I went out and I did all the things you think, you're supposed to do.
- 0:26I got a rebounder, and I got a shaker plate, and I tried to shake some of that stuff out of me.
- 0:32But honestly, I didn't know as much as I thought I did, and that's one of the reasons I absolutely love doing this podcast.
- 0:39Because if you had asked me anything deeper about the lymphatic system, you would've completely and totally lost me.
- 0:45So I brought on someone that knows exactly what's going on with it.
- 0:50And oh my gosh, he's gonna teach us so much.
- 0:53Today is definitely one of those conversations that I'm excited to have because I'm gonna learn so much about things that you kinda touch on, but you don't have the experts on.
- 1:01So today, my guest is John Ossipinsky, I hope I said that right, also known as The Lymph Man.
- 1:08For more than 30 years, John has been helping people better understand their health and the lymphatic system.
- 1:13His passion for his work actually grew out of his own health journey.
- 1:17John struggled for decades with severe IBS, heart palpitations, stress, weight gain, restless legs, back spasms, whoo, and a number of other health challenges.
- 1:27As he began focusing on supporting his lymphatic system, he says his health began to change dramatically.
- 1:33He went on to lose more than 70 pounds, has helped thousands of people learn about improving lymphatic flow, and has spent decades exploring what he calls the lymph-brain connection.
- 1:43He's also the author of An Undetected Acid-Alkaline Imbalance and the creator of HealthyLymphSystem.com.
- 1:50So John, I have a whole bunch of questions to ask you, and I'm super excited to learn from you today, so welcome to the show.
- 1:58Oh, thank you for having me.
- 1:59We're gonna really learn some information that most people don't think of.
- 2:03And we have a lymphatic system, a tiny network of vessels and nodes just like your circulatory system.
- 2:09But where that's a loop of arteries and heart and vein, your lymphatic system is a one-way river just picking up waste in your body, in your organs, in your muscles, around your bones, in your brain, everywhere.
- 2:21It has to maintain every cell.
- 2:23And it's like a house plumbing system.
- 2:25We have quarter-inch pipes, half-inch pipes, three-quarter inch, and then one-inch pipes, the bigger pipes, and our lymphatic system is very much like that.
- 2:33We have major trunks and dunk- ducts like the lymphatic duct.
- 2:37But it's really something that most people don't think of, really never, until we get cancer.
- 2:44And that to me is a problem.
- 2:46And 20 years ago, I realized that disease...
- 2:49Again, I was a certified lymphedema therapist, diplomate certified in craniosacral therapy with advanced training in visceral manipulation, h- how to move your organs.
- 2:58And I realized, I had an epiphany that, wait a minute, our lymphatic system cleans every cell, every system in our body.
- 3:05It has one major drain right here in your neck, one vessel like an angel hair pasta on the sides of your neck.
- 3:11And if this gets clogged up, then your lymph system can't complete circulation.
- 3:15It can't remove fats.
- 3:16It can't move waste out of your body.
- 3:18Your cells suffer.
- 3:20And so that's exactly, I realized that over 23 years ago.
- 3:24And in 2023, NIH, the National Institutes of Health, wrote, This is from their emerging importance of lymphatics in health and disease.
- 3:32They had a, they did a conference on this, and they found that changes in normal lymphatic function can alter multiple systems in the body and manifest as different and varied pathologies, that's your diseases.
- 3:43And there are many conditions related to lymphatic dysfunction within all body systems, yet no one thinks of this system, and that's why we're all so sick.
- 3:50So it's not just for cancer, it's not just for pain, it's not just for, swelling, it's for everything from whether you have an ingrown toenail to digestive issues to cancer.
- 4:00And we have to start incorporating this s- tiny system that is our body's sewage treatment system and moves around our immune cells then we gain more control.
- 4:11When we have a little more control of it that we can get it flowing 'cause it has to flow to work.
- 4:16If it's not flowing, then we're getting little backups in any part of your body where you have least flow in your lymphatic system.
- 4:22Perfect.
- 4:23It's a detailed explanation of the lymphatic system, and I'm picturing the wire.
- 4:28Like you said the plumbing and everything through your pipes.
- 4:31And it's funny because I, literally, I just learned, I actually went to a chiropractor, and I was like, "Oh, my neck and this and that and blah, blah, blah."
- 4:39And she was the one that said to me, "I think your lymphatic system has some drainage issues."
- 4:45She's like, "You're really tender and swollen in the parts where some of your major lymph nodes are."
- 4:50And that's when I went out and I got the rebounder and I got the shaker plate and the best way they described it to me was, like you said, your heart has a pump and it pumps out the
- 4:59blood and your lung, pumps out the oxygen.
- 5:02Your lymphatic system does not pump itself.
- 5:05Only movement can do that.
- 5:07Only us stimulating that can do that.
- 5:10So I'm gonna ask you a few questions and one, let's talk real quickly about this will probably be intertwined through the whole conversation, but I wanna know what the Lymph Man shoulder shuffle is.
- 5:24Yeah.
- 5:25It's a way, if we understand that this is the major lymph vessels, one vessel that has to handle the waste from thousands of lymph vessels and hundreds of lymph nodes.
- 5:35And where do we sit most of the day?
- 5:37In front of our computer we're sitting watching TV, we're sitting reading a book, our children are on their phones and they're down like this all day long.
- 5:46And when we put our head forward and shoulder forward we actually limit lymph flow.
- 5:50There's no studies on this.
- 5:52You can feel it.
- 5:53When you sit with a little slouch, sit like that for a few minutes, you almost feel your back getting a little tighter, you feel your legs a little bit different.
- 6:01So we have to really just understand that posture, sitting up straight.
- 6:05I just felt flow going through my legs, up my spine.
- 6:09We have to open up this system that you say does not have a pump, and if we're crimping the, the major lymph vessels, then it's not gonna be able to flow.
- 6:18So even though I teach how to drain, how to do an eight-minute routine, a 12-minute routine, how to drain every part of your body, I wanted people to have many different ways to open up their lymphatic system within
- 6:29a few seconds.
- 6:30Not minutes, not a half hour, not...
- 6:32In, in, in five seconds you can open up your lymphatic system.
- 6:35And if we had that understanding, I believe we can really lower our risk of disease, help overcome an illness, have an edge, right?
- 6:43And age with our memories intact, 'cause many of us are gonna get dementia and Alzheimer's, and we're not gonna be able to think as we get older.
- 6:50So the Lymph Man shoulder shuffle we wanna open up our shoulders, just up and down.
- 6:54All right?
- 6:55We do one shoulder straight up.
- 6:56And if you have any neck pain, any surgeries check with your healthcare practitioner.
- 7:00It's gentle, but a- again, we wanna be careful.
- 7:03And we just do one shoulder up, one shoulder down, and it has to be straight up and down.
- 7:07If we rotate it, it doesn't work as well.
- 7:10So when we do that, we're pulling up and down on the vessels, and that's gonna open them up.
- 7:15And already, I just did that a few times, my legs are tingling.
- 7:18So what we do- I was gonna say, my feet tingled a little bit when I did that Y- right?
- 7:21Isn't that amazing?
- 7:22It's instantaneous.
- 7:23I have people who go to Instagram, @lymphman, and they say, "John, I tried this.
- 7:28It's been a few weeks.
- 7:29My allergies are gone, my headaches are gone, or my digestive issues are better."
- 7:32It's not about curing a disease, it's about getting your body functioning the way it's supposed to function, and if we don't include the lymphatic system, we're not including how the body can work optimally.
- 7:42So once we do that a few times, right?
- 7:45Gentle.
- 7:46If you have no pain, really do it fast And do it about 20 times.
- 7:50And really get your shoulders up to your ears.
- 7:52Get them up a little more.
- 7:53There you go.
- 7:54Just straight up, and that's it.
- 7:56My arms are tingling.
- 7:57How many people have neuropathy?
- 7:59How many people have, weight gain?
- 8:01Your lymphatic system must remove fats and fluid.
- 8:04In 2005, it was linked to obesity.
- 8:07So we don't think about that.
- 8:09People are trying all different things to lose weight but we don't think about our lymphatic system.
- 8:14So no matter what we have...
- 8:15And I hope that feels different for most people.
- 8:17It's just that up and down motion.
- 8:19We're just moving up and down and you gotta do that a few times a day to keep our lymphatic system flowing.
- 8:25And e- it's f- it does feel different.
- 8:27And if you're out there, just try it.
- 8:28Just lift one shoulder, the other one, back and forth, lift lift, lift.
- 8:31It's opening it up.
- 8:32Now, I have a question from...
- 8:34I told somebody that you were coming on, so I kinda gathered a few questions.
- 8:38Okay, this seems like a silly question, but- Where does...
- 8:44Okay, so you have it here, and I've read different exercises to massage, right above your collarbone or right below that Yeah, I don't, I'll- Where does lymph go?
- 8:51I'm gonna show you how to do that, because most people online who are rubbing outside that's a su- that's a superficial lymphatic system.
- 8:59It will help.
- 9:00But when we open up the lymph man shoulder shuffle, we're opening up the major lymph vessels, and I'm gonna show you guys how to open up that too, right?
- 9:06And then we'll ta- let's talk about where it goes first.
- 9:09It doesn't go right out to the garbage.
- 9:11It's not oh, it collects this waste and then it goes away.
- 9:14It goes through some veins it'll go into.
- 9:16It'll go through some lymph nodes where there are white blood cells, immune cells, and ultimately, it ends up in your neck in those vessels which goes right into the subclavian vein, right back into your heart again, and it
- 9:29pushes it out.
- 9:30That's why when you get a massage, you go get some lymphatic drainage therapy you feel ill the next day or that afternoon, right?
- 9:38Because it's removing waste.
- 9:39It's moving waste out of your tissues.
- 9:41So it's opening up those ve- vessels is pushing it back through the entire system to get reabsorbed correctly or where is it actually exiting?
- 9:52Yeah, let me explain that.
- 9:54Yeah.
- 9:54So the lymph system pulls everything up through these vessels, like plumbing, up, let's say up to this area.
- 10:01Then it goes right into your subclavian vein and right into your heart again.
- 10:07Okay.
- 10:07All the waste, everything, and it goes out through your blood system.
- 10:11Then it has to go through your organs again, and that's why we're sick sometimes or feel ill, a headache, digestive issues, or just fatigue is what the biggest thing people feel, because when we get this waste out, it's
- 10:21acidic waste, and it limits the oxygen in your body, and that's the fatigue we feel, and then a few hours later or a day later, you feel better, right?
- 10:29But it really is we have to open up these major lymph vessels.
- 10:31So I'm gonna show you how.
- 10:32We...
- 10:33'Cause a lot of people are doing this, and it'll work, but my work is I learned from one of the best doctors in the world, really three of the best doctors in the world, two from France, and what
- 10:41we do is we put, and I've been working for 30 years, we cross your arms.
- 10:44I cross my arms.
- 10:46I put my fingers against the trapezius.
- 10:48That's the muscle in the back.
- 10:49I'm not on top of it.
- 10:51I'm right against it with my fingertips.
- 10:53I go down to the bottom of it, and then I pull towards my clavicles.
- 10:58It's a nice pull with your arms.
- 10:59There you go.
- 11:00You got it.
- 11:00But don't just use your fingers.
- 11:01Pull with your arms and right into the clavicle.
- 11:05Nice and gentle.
- 11:05And many people are swollen here.
- 11:07You can see it.
- 11:09That means they're congested.
- 11:10We want it to be concave right behind your clavicle.
- 11:13So fingers against the trapezius slide down to the bottom of it, and then pull with your fingers and your hands and arms right into the clavicle.
- 11:21Nice and easy.
- 11:22A nice pull and pump.
- 11:24I feel that in my legs, right?
- 11:26So it's really powerful system that we just don't think of, and if we did the Lymph Man Shoulder Shuffle, take some deep breaths.
- 11:33Let's talk about deep breathing, right?
- 11:35Most people, they sit, we don't breathe.
- 11:36We're concentrating on the computer.
- 11:38We're looking at something else where when we don't breathe deeply, we don't move lymph flow, v- the venous fluid through our body too.
- 11:45So we need to take a couple of times a day, take 10 deep breaths.
- 11:48Just sit with good posture, do the Lymph Man Shoulder Shuffle, and then take a deep breath.
- 11:52Then we just go in through your nose if you can, and then blow it out.
- 11:56Really hard, blow it out.
- 11:58Take a deep breath in And then blow it out.
- 12:02And one more time, in and then out.
- 12:07I feel that.
- 12:08Top of my scalp is all itchy.
- 12:10My arms have a little bit of a tingly feeling, and my, my calves and my thighs are, feel circulation.
- 12:17So most people don't realize that we can gain direct control o- over a system that cleans us and builds our immune system, and I believe if we understood this from within the womb, it's it's affecting our babies all
- 12:31the way through to seniors, right?
- 12:32If we understood this science, we'd have a lot less health problems in all ages, and it's really just simple science.
- 12:39It's a plumbing system that must flow but there's a lot of things out there that people are teaching and doing and, I, I really understand this.
- 12:45I'm Lymph Man.
- 12:46I've been studying this for 30 years and I am really no doubt that disease begins with lymphatic dysfunction, and NIH, the National Institutes of Health, is just realizing this.
- 12:57So it'll be 20 or 30 years before they can tell us about this system.
- 13:01So we need to learn about it now.
- 13:03We need to understand this system, and then you gain an edge in taking care of your own body.
- 13:09Yeah.
- 13:09And I think it's so important because some of the things, like you said, deep breathing, like people that are stressed and constantly running, you can tell just by looking at someone that they're breathing so shallow, and you're not
- 13:20moving anything.
- 13:21Oxygen, bloo- you're not moving anything when you're breathing like that, and I think, and I...
- 13:25Correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like hydration would have a lot to do with lymphatic moval too, right?
- 13:31You're right on target.
- 13:33Your lymph system is over 96% water.
- 13:36Your cerebral spinal fluid is over 98% water.
- 13:38So if you don't drink water, and a lot of people, as we get older, we stop drinking water 'cause we don't wanna go to the bathroom then you're gonna fill with more waste and toxins.
- 13:46So we need to drink water and to hydrate our system.
- 13:49It's also how our body reduces acid in our body, right?
- 13:52It flushes it with water.
- 13:54So we need to use the water to hydrate and to help clean us.
- 13:57But it really is integral to the lymphatic system.
- 14:00Think about it.
- 14:01If we have...
- 14:01I'm here in Arizona.
- 14:02We have a lot of dry riverbeds, and if you don't have enough fluid in you, your lymph system becomes like a dry, slow m- moving river or a dry, the riverbed and not able to clean your body.
- 14:13Absolutely.
- 14:14So when I started, I got my rebounder, and my chiropractor told me that, and I just star- just bouncing.
- 14:19I just bounce.
- 14:19And I actually had a doctor that told me to do that.
- 14:22He's, he didn't tell me one after the other, but it's kinda the same.
- 14:25He just kept saying, he's like, "Tammy, just couple times a day, just lift your shoulders up and down."
- 14:30And I noticed with that, and I'm sure you're gonna go into this, when I started doing that on a regular basis, my rebounder, my shaker plate, all that stuff to just kinda move my brain fog cleared up a
- 14:41little bit.
- 14:42I had a stroke, and I think the, the movement is what cleared up my brain fog.
- 14:48Yeah.
- 14:49We know a study came out saying when you have a stroke, your brain is bathed in cerebral spinal fluid.
- 14:54Your lymphatic system must remove fluid from your body.
- 14:57When it can't do that, you're gonna get excess fluid.
- 14:59So it really connects the lymphatic system to a stroke, and I read studies recently that said that when you have a stroke, lymphatic drainage can really make a difference 'cause it's helping to relieve that.
- 15:09So it's not gonna cure you.
- 15:10W- with the lymph system, it's not about curing, it's about just getting the system working.
- 15:14But rebounding works but make sure you do that.
- 15:17And the difference between my lymph man shoulder shuffle and this is j- it helps, it's going up, where when we do the alternate shoulders, we're really stretching the vessels a little bit to give them almost like milking a
- 15:28cow- Right To get them to flow a little bit better.
- 15:32But I wanna talk a little about stress and cortisol, because we all, if you're a content creator, if you work for a living in front of a computer, we're stressed all day long.
- 15:40We get used to it, right?
- 15:41If you're a first responder I was a New York City firefighter.
- 15:44We get used to that stress.
- 15:45We trained for it, but it still has an effect on your body.
- 15:49So stress releases cortisol, which makes us a little more acidic, and that can constrict your lymphatic vessels and how you flow.
- 15:57So if you've had a lot of stress in your life, you have to learn how to open up this system, otherwise your lymphatic system could be compromised and continue to manifest inflammation b- because it can't pick it up.
- 16:08It can't pick up that waste in your body that's gonna make inflammation.
- 16:12So is inflammation tied into the lymph system as well?
- 16:15Oh, yeah.
- 16:16It's we know that inflammation is the root cause of disease, but what is inflammation?
- 16:20It's really the waste that is not being picked up by your lymphatic system.
- 16:24That's exactly what it is.
- 16:26So that's why we wanna get this body s- the body's sewage treatment system working.
- 16:30And think about it, not be crazy about it, don't go nutty about it, but we need to eat a greener diet.
- 16:35What I did when I realized I was so sick, I remember I was going through a lot of stress seeing a lot of people with cancer, and I told my wife, "I feel like I'm getting cancer."
- 16:43I had all these health problems.
- 16:44And I felt horrible.
- 16:46And then I realized, I have to...
- 16:47And I was getting loads of massages, loads of...
- 16:50I owned a therapy center, right?
- 16:51I would just go get them.
- 16:52And it wasn't doing it.
- 16:53I was still having cramps.
- 16:55I was still having all these problems.
- 16:56My hair was falling out.
- 16:57And once I realized that I had to take personal responsibility, I had to stop drinking all the iced tea.
- 17:03I love the iced tea.
- 17:04I drank it all day long.
- 17:05It's acid forming.
- 17:06Sweet?
- 17:06Huh?
- 17:06Did you drink sweet tea?
- 17:07No, not sweet.
- 17:08Oh.
- 17:08Sweet tea's even worse because it has sugar.
- 17:10Yeah.
- 17:10Sugar is acid forming.
- 17:11Now I drink something like pau d'arco tea, which is a healthier tea.
- 17:15It's more alkaline, a little more expensive but at least I could still drink tea.
- 17:19But I took p- personal responsibility 'cause I had hit my low point.
- 17:22I had felt so sick, and I ate...
- 17:25And I never ate vegetables.
- 17:26I hated vegetables.
- 17:27I ate bread, meat, rice.
- 17:29That's it.
- 17:29Maybe a salad once in a while and one fruit a day maybe.
- 17:33And- I just ate vegetables for 30 days, roasted vegetables for 30 days.
- 17:37That's it.
- 17:38I had salads.
- 17:39I took some magnesium.
- 17:40I took some, some digestive enzymes.
- 17:42I activated my lymphatic system, right?
- 17:44And more than get massages, that's what I did every day to help my lymphatic system.
- 17:49The lymph man shoulder shuffle, the deep breathing, the stretching all made a difference.
- 17:53And actually manually draining my body.
- 17:55And within three weeks, I felt my brain pop, go pop.
- 17:59And that means at 40...
- 18:00I'm 68 today not today, but this year I'm I'm 68.
- 18:03And I was- You don't look 68.
- 18:05Thank you.
- 18:05I...
- 18:05it's about getting waste out of your body.
- 18:07Aging is about waste in your body these senescent cells.
- 18:10But once I took control over my diet and the exercise is a very big part.
- 18:14I did a little bit of exercise.
- 18:16All my health problems, IBS, within two or three weeks started to resolve.
- 18:20My hair over a few months started to fill back in.
- 18:23I lost 70 pounds over a bunch of months.
- 18:25But the biggest thing is the cramping and all those things stopped happening.
- 18:30So once I took control and took responsibility, and I wasn't perfect, for those 30 days I was, right?
- 18:35And that's what people have to realize.
- 18:37To change your cellular environment, and that's what the lymphatic system can help you do, because the lymphatic system maintains the environment around your cells.
- 18:45So if the environment around your cells is not clean because the lymph system can't clean it or get oxygen through it, and nutrition 'cause it's not completing circulation, then those cells, the mitochondria, the powerhouse of the cell, is
- 18:56not gonna get what it needs, and it's gonna shut down or not work well, and then the cell starts getting sick.
- 19:01And that's really the basis of all of our health problems.
- 19:04And when we do become a little acidic in our body, our cells constrict a little bit, And when they constrict, they can't really work with insulin, they can't work with magnesium.
- 19:12They have little channels and those don't work as well.
- 19:15So when we balance our body by diet, and maybe magnesium, and some other supplements, and we eat a greener diet, really a greener diet for a sustained period of time then we can change the cellular environment.
- 19:28Then your lymph system starts flowing your cells start doing better, and your life changes.
- 19:32And I experienced it.
- 19:33Within a couple of weeks, and I've dealt with many people with long COVID still today, and they have anxiety, they brain fog, they just can't think anymore.
- 19:41And within a couple of sessions of talking to me or joining my course, they feel different because I'm teaching them to open up all the lymphatic system.
- 19:50And many of them have spent a lot of money on machines for the lymphatic system where they get someone to rub up their arm, or ha- having lymph drainage therapy.
- 19:59And it just w- wasn't working because they weren't putting everything together.
- 20:03And doing something once is not going to maintain it.
- 20:06It's not gonna...
- 20:07you can go and get a lymph, a lymphatic drainage massage, but it's like then you have to keep it up, and you have to keep moving.
- 20:13You can't just...
- 20:14It's not a one-shot deal.
- 20:15And I know people, we're in this world of instant gratification where people wanna be like, "Oh, I'll just go have my lymph system drained."
- 20:22It's not that simple.
- 20:23Like you said, it's about sustaining and building back up, and the mitochondria in your cells, and that is super important.
- 20:30I actually do a AO Biofrequency scan with people, and it takes your voice.
- 20:34And e- almost every single p- person I do, it'll say, it'll mention the mitochondria, it'll mention those things, and that's just sl- it'll mention hydration.
- 20:45It just, it's like a summary of everything, but it's it's your body.
- 20:49It's your body reacting to a chain of events.
- 20:53And I, people are like I'm too old," or, "It's too late."
- 20:56It is never too late.
- 20:58Let me just correct people right there, because even if you've had bad habits, I grew up in an era...
- 21:04you're 68, I'm only 50.
- 21:06Not only, but I'm 10 years younger.
- 21:08But we didn't have water bottles back then, and I lived out on the farm.
- 21:11We never drank water.
- 21:13If we drank it from the hose, that was a lot, but we never sat down and drank glasses of water.
- 21:18And now it's like we didn't know the...
- 21:20My dad didn't tell me the importance of hydration.
- 21:23I drank m- milk, and then when I went to college it was milk and beer.
- 21:27That was But you can always change and improve.
- 21:32And like you said, you were so sick.
- 21:34And a lot of people are like that, and they'll just go I can't exercise because it hurts."
- 21:40Baby steps.
- 21:42Baby steps and I agree with that because if you do too much for your lymphatic system you go get a big bunch of supplements from the store and you start doing this detox.
- 21:51I've had many people come to me, "John, I've been doing this detox for three weeks and I'm just sick."
- 21:54I'm like, "I'm just been horrible," because you've overloaded your lymphatic system.
- 21:59You released all this waste that shut down your lymphatic system that was already shut down.
- 22:03So once I open them up a couple of times and then they do much better Very cool.
- 22:08Very cool.
- 22:08So talk about the lymph-brain connection, 'cause I know that's a big one.
- 22:11Yeah, this is important.
- 22:12Number one we don't wanna have dementia.
- 22:15We wanna forestall that if we can, 'cause one in two or three of us are gonna get it, is what they say.
- 22:20And you're not gonna die of it, you're just gonna not be able to think as you get older, and then you'll die of something else.
- 22:24So this lymph-brain connection was found in 2015, even though I've been writing about it since my book in 2006.
- 22:31'Cause there were lymph vessels around the meninges, inside the meninges which is the membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord.
- 22:38But in 2015, they found lymphatic vessels around the meninges right outside your brain.
- 22:44So what happens with the lymph-brain connection is you have a glymphatic system.
- 22:48This is a system that's meant to specifically clear waste from your brain through the cerebrospinal fluid.
- 22:53But that glymphatic flow, that fluid from there and waste, must flow to the lymphatic vessels right outside your brain in the membranes, and then it goes into your neck.
- 23:04So that's why opening up the major lymph vessels with the Lymphatic Shoulder Shuffle opens up that.
- 23:09Again, my leg started to tingle just doing that a little bit, and back of my head started to tingle.
- 23:15So we wanna create flow out of our head so we can...
- 23:18'Cause if you're sitting stressed all day long, you're shutting down.
- 23:21You're making waste build in your body becomes acidic.
- 23:23So if we can a few times a day open up our lymphatic system, take deep breaths, then we can actually create flow out of our head to improve detoxification, and and this is real science now.
- 23:34This is something that no one can ignore.
- 23:36Unfortunately, in medicine it's gonna be a while before we learn about it there.
- 23:41So we have to take personal responsibility and just be aware of your lymphatic system and how it flows, and especially for children.
- 23:48Children are having anxiety in great numbers nowadays.
- 23:51They sent out an alert, and it's because we've missed the lymph-brain connection.
- 23:55When I had kids when they were younger, now they're in their 20s we were poisoning them.
- 23:59Hot chocolates, candy, pretzels, all the stuff that they shouldn't have.
- 24:03I was killing my kids and I understand that was hurting them.
- 24:06And, we can have these treats, we can have these things once in a while, but if you're having hot chocolate every day and all that sugar it's not very good for you.
- 24:13So we have to start taking care of our children, not just as adults take care of ourselves, because if we can teach our children, hey, how often do you check on their water?
- 24:22Are they drinking water, right?
- 24:24Young infants at I think a year old need like I think 40 ounces of fluid a day.
- 24:29So if we're not looking at that, we're not thinking about what they're drinking or eating, then we're just watching them get more toxic and sick and wonder why they get eczema or they can't think or they have anxiety
- 24:41or they're not sleeping.
- 24:42And, or digestive issues, which is also rampant.
- 24:45But it all comes down to this one system, and it's something that every single person can gain control over if they have the right science.
- 24:53So what are some questions that if you're out there listening and you're going I wonder if mine is stagnant or stuck up or blocked," what are some questions you can ask yourself or some, are there any symptoms that
- 25:04are a clear tell sign?
- 25:07Yeah, we know that swelling is definitely one.
- 25:09If you have really a little bit of swelling right over behind your clavicle, that's a sure sign.
- 25:14If you have skin tags, if you have...
- 25:16When I was working for, I got, had to do a project and I was working for months sitting and I wasn't doing exercise, I wasn't really taking care of myself, I started getting skin tags.
- 25:24And then I realized, "Okay, I gotta stop.
- 25:25I gotta get up and start doing."
- 25:26I went to the gym, the skin tags went away.
- 25:28So it really is we feel with bloating.
- 25:31How many people bloat?
- 25:32That's the biggest thing.
- 25:32People come to me when they're very sick, "I just feel bloated all the time."
- 25:35Your lymphatic system must remove fluid, but really swelling is the biggest thing.
- 25:39And look around.
- 25:40I was shopping with my wife the other day at the supermarket, and I was...
- 25:43Here everybody wears shorts, especially when it's 114 degrees, and I was just amazed at how as we age, people aren't having lymphedema, but they're having red inflamed legs.
- 25:53And a- and that's all due to the, your legs the lymphatics in your legs not able to get through possibly your abdomen where there are 2 to 300 lymph nodes and thousands of lymph vessels, and work its way
- 26:04up to your neck.
- 26:05Remember, it's a plumbing system.
- 26:06If your legs can't get complete circulation of lymph out of your legs up to here, then they're gonna have problems.
- 26:12Okay.
- 26:13So the shuffle thing, the shoulder shuffle, is the last kind of the line of defense, 'cause everything ends there, and then it will send it back in.
- 26:20So how do you, what are some suggestions for the rest of your lymph system, like your legs, your arms, like what- Yeah, that and that's the thing, is that when you open this up and you felt it in
- 26:30your feet, you felt a little tingly- Yeah You're opening up your whole body.
- 26:33Okay.
- 26:33Just stretching.
- 26:34Yoga.
- 26:34Yoga, I love yoga 'cause when we stretch the body, we actually the lymphatic vessels are tied into your the tissues with little strings called actin filaments.
- 26:43And so when you stretch, you're actually opening up your vessels, even your veins, and to accept more fluid.
- 26:49So yoga was devised m- long, long time ago.
- 26:53Whoever did it realized that we have to flow, and yoga is a great thing to do, right?
- 26:58You can get it right on your phone.
- 26:59Just go to YouTube and get some type of a yoga.
- 27:01And just it's all moving.
- 27:02Really, it's movement.
- 27:03It's exercise.
- 27:04We can't just sit around.
- 27:06Then your lymph system is not moving.
- 27:08When you stimulate your muscles, you're actually improving lymph flow.
- 27:11When you walk, when you lift a weight, when you pick up a water bottle, anything, you are creating lymph flow through your body.
- 27:18So when we're sedentary- One of us froze here.
- 27:34I don't know who froze.
- 27:36Either I froze or he froze, but he's frozen See if he comes back He should come back here so we're learning a lot.
- 27:50And I don't know if you're hearing this because he is completely frozen, so we'll see what happens here if he comes back and jumps back on here.
- 27:57But hopefully you're learning a lot about the lymphatic system and the flow and...
- 28:00Oop, he bumped off.
- 28:02So we're gonna see if he comes back on.
- 28:04I'm gonna stop the recording for just a minute here And we'll see...
- 28:09actually, I'm not even gonna stop the recording.
- 28:11I'm just gonna keep talking.
- 28:12So I hope you guys have learned something from him.
- 28:15Like I said, just do what he said.
- 28:17Do that shuffle.
- 28:17Do the shoulder shuffle.
- 28:18Up, down, up, down with your shoulders.
- 28:20It is so vitally important that you move.
- 28:22And start making those small habits every single day.
- 28:26Try something different, move your shoulders, move your legs, move your arms.
- 28:30If you're sitting at a computer, one of my best tips for people is to train yourself to set your alarm for 40 minutes, and just get up, walk around, walk to the other side of the room, get a
- 28:41glass of water, do what you gotta do.
- 28:43And in that, do that shuffle, do that shoulder thing.
- 28:46It never hurts.
- 28:47Guys, healing your body does not have to be expensive.
- 28:51It does not have to cost money.
- 28:52It does not have to do any of those things.
- 28:55So you can fix all of that in real time.
- 28:59You can just do those things every day.
- 29:01But like he said, you have to take responsibility for your own health.
- 29:07You have to want to get healthy.
- 29:09I didn't know much about my lymphatic system.
- 29:11I did what he said.
- 29:12I did, I made the mistakes.
- 29:14I went out, I got the lymph massage, I did the c- the magnesium, I did all the supplements, and I did get sick.
- 29:20So if you are going to do some kinda detox, some kind of lymphatic drainage, some kind of program or something where you're gonna jump all in and do it all out and go all out, please do it safely.
- 29:32Please do it safely.
- 29:33Find out how to do it.
- 29:35Do it right.
- 29:36He does have a free gift that he is offering.
- 29:38It's like a seven-day program or some kind of program that he said he was offering that will be in the show notes if you guys are interested in that.
- 29:45So I will make sure everything is there.
- 29:48We lost him, and I'm gonna ask him to finish up or to top things off and to finish up the conversation with me, because there was so much I was learning from him.
- 29:56Oh, maybe he's coming.
- 29:57Here he comes.
- 29:58All right.
- 29:59He is coming back on.
- 30:00I am back.
- 30:01Lost you for a minute.
- 30:02Sorry about that.
- 30:03No, that's okay.
- 30:04I just kept talking.
- 30:05I was, we gotta go, and not a problem.
- 30:07So w- I don't remember what you were saying.
- 30:09I was just telling people that it doesn't cost money to be healthy.
- 30:14All of these things, your breath, you have it with you every second of your day.
- 30:18Your shoulders, you have them, you can lift them every second of your day.
- 30:22You have to take the responsibility, though.
- 30:24If you have aches and pains, the more you sit on that and the more you delve on that and the more you think about your aches and pains, that's where your energy's going.
- 30:33Spend your energy moving your shoulders, saying, "I'm becoming healthier and wholer and happier," and that's where your energy is gonna go.
- 30:41So I was just kinda filling in the time here, but tell us about your book Yeah, my book is An Undetected Acid/Alkaline Imbalance.
- 30:49Really I learned of acid, a- acid/alkaline balance, and I'd been working with the lymphatic system for many years.
- 30:56And I went to a health food store, and the first book that I picked up on acid/alkaline balance says something about when your lymphatic system, or when your system becomes acidic, it'll slow or stop your lymphatic system.
- 31:07I'm like, "Wait a minute.
- 31:08If it slows or stops your lymphatic system, then it's, we're not gonna clean, and we're gonna fill with waste."
- 31:12And a light bulb went off in my head.
- 31:14I even wrote the government.
- 31:15That's how my book came about.
- 31:16I didn't just decide one day, "Hey, I wanna write a book."
- 31:18It's a lot of work.
- 31:19But I had been sending the government for about a year and a half all these research, and talked to the surgeon general's office, talked to Secretary Sebelius of HHS at that time.
- 31:27And I was saying, "Hey, we're dying.
- 31:28Children are being affected by this with all kind of diseases like autism."
- 31:31And I sent him research and pictures, and I got a letter back from Secretary Sebelius's office saying, "We agree with you."
- 31:36And they said, "Call us.
- 31:37We'll talk about it."
- 31:38And when I called them and talk about it, when I started to talk about it, the doctor on the other side just shut down.
- 31:42He just, he didn't know what to say or do.
- 31:44So I just, I decided then that I had spent a year and a half trying to contact them, that they weren't gonna do it, so I said I was gonna educate the public.
- 31:52And for the last 26 years, that's what I've been doing.
- 31:54I really am on a mission to change world health.
- 31:57It's affecting too many children.
- 31:59That's my biggest thing.
- 32:00I'm a retired firefighter, and I was a medic in the Army.
- 32:03I like to help people, and how can I ignore the fact that we know what causes the root cause of disease?
- 32:08It's the lymphatic system not flowing, and I have to get it out there and tell people.
- 32:12So I'm willing to help people who are willing to contact me and willing to, bring in the lymph system.
- 32:18And it's something- Perfect that will help you now, and then for the rest of your life you'll be able to...
- 32:23'Cause things always happen.
- 32:24We're always having health problems.
- 32:25Something, we ignore ourselves for a while, we get some stress, go on vacation, you become a little more toxic.
- 32:30You'll know how to clean up, and that's what really it's about.
- 32:33How do you clean up your cellular environment so that you can live a healthier life w- with your lymphatic system?
- 32:39I love the, the visual you gave about the Grand Canyon or out in Arizona, things drying up, because you think about what your body looks like inside.
- 32:46I remember seeing a, a scientific picture of a brain that is dehydrated and a brain that is hydrated, and I was like, "Oh, good God.
- 32:54If that doesn't make you drink water, nothing will."
- 32:57But- And then if you're drinking water, is it able to get into the cells?
- 33:02'Cause I've met many people who tell me, "I drink tons of water.
- 33:04I just don't feel hydrated."
- 33:06Because that's where that acidity can interfere with how your cells deal with water and minerals and things like that.
- 33:11Yeah, my husband actually put the pool tester to our sink water, the water that's coming out, and it was like, whoa.
- 33:17I don't remember what the numbers were, but he's "This is dangerous to be drinking."
- 33:21We would never...
- 33:22My daughter has one of those Kangen machines that does the pH levels.
- 33:25We would never put our water out of that machine at that level and think we could drink it safely.
- 33:31It's what you're drinking is what's gonna go around your cells, right?
- 33:34And either hydrate them, make it acid or alkaline.
- 33:37Yeah.
- 33:37So your best tips for people, just sum it all up.
- 33:41Movement is the most important thing.
- 33:43Posture.
- 33:44If you're...
- 33:44Even me, I'm just slouching a little bit.
- 33:46I'm gonna straighten up a little bit.
- 33:47Oh, you just, you feel that.
- 33:49Once I make you aware of it, once you're slouching and you straighten up, you feel it.
- 33:52Do the lymph man shoulder shuffle.
- 33:54Look at your diet.
- 33:55It's really, if you're not a person who can eat clean for 30 days, clean up for three days a week, and do that for a few weeks, and that'll start to reduce inflammation.
- 34:02The most important thing is to just be aware of the lymphatic system, that you can gain control over the system that cleans us and then you'll have more control over your health and your life.
- 34:12Amen.
- 34:12I love it.
- 34:13Love it.
- 34:13So if people wanna work with you tell them the best place they can go to find you.
- 34:18Yeah, they can go to healthylymphsystem.com.
- 34:21That's healthy L-Y-M-P-H system.com, or go to Instagram and follow me, and you'll see me a few times a week, and use that as a reminder to take care of your lymphatic system when you see me.
- 34:33Perfect.
- 34:33And you said that you had something, a program or something they could get if they visited?
- 34:38Yeah, they can get a download.
- 34:39It's my lymphatic system health guide, and it's a seven-day plan to simply just start to begin opening up your lymphatic system.
- 34:47Okay, and guys, if you care about your health, you've got seven days.
- 34:51Seven days.
- 34:52Just pick one thing and commit for seven days, because I promise you, once you start feeling the difference of what your body actually is supposed to feel like, you're gonna love life.
- 35:03And then you're gonna want more, and you're Sometimes we don't even, as we get older, we don't even realize how bad we feel because we gradually got worse and worse.
- 35:11But when you go and all of a sudden you've done a 180 just a quick example and then I'll let you go, but I found out I had sleep apnea.
- 35:19The day after my stroke, I woke up to a pulmonologist, and they put that CPAP machine on my face, and I felt like a million bucks.
- 35:27I didn't realize I had been not sleeping for probably 10 years and how exhausted I was, but all of a sudden, I'm like, "Oh, I have this new lens on life," because i- it's gradual, and we let ourselves
- 35:39be that way, and we just think it's getting older.
- 35:42And I'm calling bullshit on that, pardon my French.
- 35:45But- you can be healthy.
- 35:48I watch people that are sev- in their 70s.
- 35:50My, I have a, a aunt that skis.
- 35:54She's 82.
- 35:55We can do it.
- 35:55You can do it, but you have to take the priority, you have to prioritize your own health and love yourself enough to want to do that.
- 36:02So thank you so much for coming on.
- 36:05I really appreciate you.
- 36:07I appreciate the educating your audience.
- 36:09And one thing about sleep apnea, it's really about lack of oxygen.
- 36:12When we're not breathing during the night, the heart doesn't get the oxygen.
- 36:15That's why you don't have the energy the next day, and that's why if you have sleep apnea, sleep on three pillows or try some type of device, 'cause it's really serious.
- 36:23Yeah.
- 36:23Like I said literally a day and a half after my stroke, I was in the ICU and my husband said to me, "Are you gonna talk this much the rest of your life?"
- 36:31But I was like, "I feel..."
- 36:32"Whoa."
- 36:33I felt so good.
- 36:34It was crazy.
- 36:35But yes, so prioritize your life.
- 36:37Do not ever use the term, "I'm this way because..."
- 36:42You're this way because of your environment your habits, your...
- 36:46Nine times out of 10, and they can all be fixed.
- 36:48I've watched miracles happen all over the world with people that prioritize their health.
- 36:53So thank you so much again for coming on, Lymph Man.
- 36:57We really appreciate you.
- 36:58And everybody else out there, you have a blessed day, and take care of your body.
- 37:03You only have one.
- 37:06Keep flowing.
- 37:06I love that.
- 37:07Okay, thank you so much.
- 37:08Have a blessed one.
