- 0:04Let me in your ear. I got something you need to hear.
- 0:07Turn the volume up so it's loud and clear. A podcast where we talk about politics
- 0:12and culture. Unscripted, no limits.
- 0:14Like a 504 soldier. We're not pretenders. Ain't no agendas. Our only plan is
- 0:19to keep it 100 and do it for the fam. Yeah.
- 0:24What up what up what up what's going on i'm six mil keeping it true it's your boy kg,
- 0:30welcome to episode 32 of
- 0:33further fam podcast no no it's the magic johnson episode so that's the so so
- 0:41check it out i was i had like two or three different ones i was like i'm gonna
- 0:46do this i'm gonna do this but then i said no i'm just gonna break it down and
- 0:49be like this the magic episode Thank you.
- 0:53I had Magic, Shaq, Jim Brown, and then the brother that wore 32,
- 0:59the first black player for the Yankees, wore number 32.
- 1:02I threw a blank on his name. But no, it's the Magic episode.
- 1:07All right. So in L.A., Shaq was 34.
- 1:13In Orlando, he was 32. And I know when he got to the Heat, he was 32 again,
- 1:18but he was a shell of himself.
- 1:19So he's still terrifying jim brown
- 1:23oh that that uh maybe
- 1:26about 15 years ago yeah yeah he yeah
- 1:29he got some stuff in his recent history that god god bless his soul i say god
- 1:33bless his soul god bless his soul but yeah he got some stuff in his recent history
- 1:36that yeah yeah it's the magic well some in the past too we just ignored well
- 1:42that part too so yeah we gonna leave it as the magic episode So no disc to Shaq or Jim Brown,
- 1:49because they are icons and legends in their own right. So what are we going to get into today, bro?
- 1:56So today we're going to talk about cryptocurrency, or as I like to call it, funny money.
- 2:02I have been wanting to talk about this for a very long time. I...
- 2:08I just kind of want to get some understanding for my own edification.
- 2:14I don't. And I've been trying not that I'm like trying to invest,
- 2:18but I've been trying to like just figure out like what is crypto?
- 2:24How does it retain value? Can you use it at the grocery store?
- 2:30These are all like questions that I've had.
- 2:34And like, what's the pitfalls?
- 2:36So, as I told you on the phone the other day, I knew enough of cryptocurrency
- 2:40over the years, just enough to be dangerous.
- 2:43But I'm going to tell you something, man. When I first walked into a gas station,
- 2:47I can't remember where I was.
- 2:48I saw a crypto machine where you can add Bitcoin. I was like, what?
- 2:52Why would I ever invest in cryptocurrency when I can input money at a gas station?
- 3:00Now, I know there's ATMs at the gas station. It's your money. right
- 3:03what i'm gonna do walk in and add ten thousand
- 3:06dollars to bitcoin at the gas station yeah yeah
- 3:11yeah so where you want to begin bro you want to you want to just uh like get
- 3:15a basic understanding of what crypto is or you want to talk about how it's transferred
- 3:19in the currency or you want to begin with this just i mean you know cryptocurrency
- 3:24nobody really knows who started I mean, it's,
- 3:27you know, the, what was the name that they used?
- 3:31I'll find it. I can't remember the name, but it started back in what, October of 2008.
- 3:37Okay. Is when it started off and cryptocurrency, well, Bitcoin specifically.
- 3:41Right. Was, was started to.
- 3:44Peer-to-peer exchange so banks couldn't regulate it banks couldn't print more of it make more of it,
- 3:53because they the reason they did that is so it wouldn't increase inflation because
- 3:57you know as well as i do when the government gets involved spoiler alert that's
- 4:03when inflation happens and so on and so forth.
- 4:06So, excuse me. So to, to, to answer my main question, which is how does crypto actually become,
- 4:17cash, whether it's USD or Euro or whatever other currency, what other country you're in.
- 4:24So what they do to turn crypto into cash, most people use a digital marketplace
- 4:30called decentralized exchange,
- 4:33like Coinbase, Binance, which that dude just got freaking a pardon, a straight crook.
- 4:40That's another story. Or Kraken. This is the digital stock market or a highly
- 4:49secure currency exchange.
- 4:53Those are the main ones you can use to convert your crypto into hard cash,
- 4:59I guess, for lack of a better term.
- 5:01So to make it real, if you were at the grocery store like we were just discussing,
- 5:08what you would do is you would have a link to your account And you hit withdraw
- 5:13and the exchange sends that cryptocurrency via your bank to a standard transfer,
- 5:21sort of like a wire transfer.
- 5:23So that's that's how you can technically use your cryptocurrency to shop, to buy things.
- 5:32So so that was that was something that I found interesting. And also they have
- 5:36like crypto debit cards, which depends on the vendor.
- 5:41I mean, they're not readily available for everyone, and I don't think everyone
- 5:45accepts them at this point, but you can work with like a Visa or a MasterCard.
- 5:51And and excuse me, what they would do is just like when you swipe your debit
- 5:56card or your check card, they would just deduct that cryptocurrency.
- 6:01And there you have it.
- 6:03One of the biggest issues with crypto is it's not FDIC insured.
- 6:09Nope. as of yet. So...
- 6:12If you have, I don't know, let's say 10 Bitcoin, the company goes bankrupt.
- 6:20Bye. You're screwed. You're done. No doubt.
- 6:23It's like that guy that had that hard drive that he threw out by accident.
- 6:30And he has been suing, I think it's Jersey or New York. He's been suing the
- 6:34state for over a decade now,
- 6:37trying to search the landfills with drones and other things to try to find it
- 6:44because it's worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
- 6:48First and foremost, what were you doing that you threw out a hard drive? Right.
- 6:53Right. Which they always say that if you're going to throw it out,
- 6:56you're supposed to damage it so no one can use it. Right.
- 7:00You know, you don't just throw out a hard drive. All his keys were in there. Yeah.
- 7:04For the passwords and everything to get in. So that's one downfall of it.
- 7:09Another downfall of cryptocurrency is that the technology itself is phenomenal.
- 7:16It's real. But the industry, since it's not regulated, it's a it's a place for scammers. Correct.
- 7:24And and and you hit the nail on the head when you just mentioned passwords.
- 7:29If you forget your password, you're locked out of your account forever.
- 7:35Good luck getting your cryptocurrency back there. There is no one to call, no I.T.
- 7:40To call and say, hey, I accidentally locked myself out.
- 7:44Can you know money gone just like that?
- 7:46And there's nothing anyone can do about it. And because it's not FDIC in short,
- 7:51you just ass out at that point, which is, I guess we'll get into that.
- 7:58We'll get into all of the pitfalls as we go along.
- 8:01But here's another thing about crypto to reference.
- 8:07And we'll get into this as we go along also.
- 8:10Previous podcast, how do we assign value? You know, I think about that so often.
- 8:15Yeah. Like if you mention a subject and I start like just doing some some basic
- 8:20research, I immediately get angry in my head and I go, who said this is worth
- 8:26two hundred million dollars?
- 8:27And that's the thing with crypto. It's only valuable because the next man wants
- 8:33to buy it for that amount.
- 8:36If the next man tells you that your cryptocurrency isn't worth shit,
- 8:41then your cryptocurrency isn't worth regardless of how much you paid for it.
- 8:46If the next man that you want to trade with is not willing to pay that price,
- 8:51then that's just money gone.
- 8:52And it's it's also based on who you can get.
- 8:57Because if you've got the money, if you've already committed the grift and you've got the money.
- 9:01Good word for it. You and I both know all you have to do is call up.
- 9:06And look, no disrespect to this brother.
- 9:09Here's stuff. Here's $8 million for a commercial.
- 9:12Hey, Katy Perry. Here's $20 million. Hey, Tom Brady.
- 9:17Larry David. If you are someone who is so entrenched in the,
- 9:21oh, a celebrity. And that's the thing, too.
- 9:25I saw a quote where it says, the problem with us is that we believe that because
- 9:29someone's good at one thing, that they're good at everything.
- 9:32It's just because Tom Brady can throw touchdowns that he knows about finances.
- 9:38And in this country, we have such a, well, look no further than 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Oh, for sure.
- 9:46We have this obsession with wannabe celebrities like Sam Bankman-Fried.
- 9:53And so-called actual celebrities because no
- 9:58you're you're you're absolutely right and i think
- 10:01we satoshi nakamoto that was the
- 10:04name okay that apparently started bitcoin but no
- 10:07one knows if it's an individual or if it's a group of people oh wow that's interesting
- 10:12no one to this day knows who has been at bitcoin interesting yeah but no you're
- 10:17you're right and i think we We touched about this on a previous podcast also
- 10:21going back to what you were just saying about how we equate wealth with like intelligence.
- 10:27And to be quite honest, they have nothing to do with each other.
- 10:31Some people just get lucky, just born lucky. And you're born in the well.
- 10:37Doesn't mean you're intelligent. You just you just got lucky.
- 10:42A prime example of that. And I know the movie was, you know, just meant to be funny.
- 10:46Billy Madison. Yeah. Yeah, it has, it has.
- 10:50Kindergarten education, but he bought to inherit all this stuff.
- 10:53He had to go back to school. Yeah, it's funny, but if you look at it.
- 10:56He didn't know anything, but he was about to inherit it, inherit the entire farm.
- 11:01Yeah. Yeah. I mean, even even with Christmas on both sides of the aisle,
- 11:06a lot of these guys were born into wealth.
- 11:10A very small percentage of them actually pulled themselves up by their bootstraps
- 11:17as they tell everyone else else.
- 11:19Excuse me. Else to do as they tell black people to do or that.
- 11:23Right but yeah yeah a lot a lot of these guys were
- 11:26actually born in the well which is why
- 11:29they're so out of touch with reality the only
- 11:31thing that they're in touch with when it comes to like with cryptocurrency for
- 11:36example these people are not smart enough to hold the market down and and hold
- 11:41their own when there's a new you know burger king came along or this place came
- 11:48along to challenge these other places.
- 11:49But what these crypto guys do is they start lobbying politicians to raise fines
- 11:55and ask for more regulation because they can afford the fines.
- 12:01They can afford the expansion.
- 12:03So when these fines and these regulations change, it pushes the little guy out.
- 12:07The guy that's sitting in his garage trying to start his own cryptocurrency and doing well.
- 12:11People like Sam Bankman-Fried throw $60 million towards Washington, D.C.
- 12:16To put regulations in that put the guy in the garage out of business.
- 12:21Last time I heard, that's like anti-capitalist.
- 12:26Crushed a little man. Look, we don't really care for Jeff Bezos nowadays,
- 12:30but what would have happened if somebody came along and crushed him when he
- 12:34was in that garage trying to build up Amazon? Right.
- 12:39100% bro you know the world might be a better place actually now
- 12:42that i think about it yeah yeah so let's
- 12:45let's let's let's talk about meme coins or
- 12:49celebrity tokens as they like to call them the
- 12:52ultimate grift the ultimate grift and
- 12:56it's it's the grift
- 13:00is so apparent right it's so in our
- 13:03face and let's take the trump coin but let me say this
- 13:06dogecoin was created in 2013 as
- 13:09a joke it was literally made
- 13:13as a joke i thought
- 13:16it was a joke bro you can actually trade doge
- 13:20coins i thought it was a joke with the dog like the the the mascot was that
- 13:25that that dog oh wow interesting yeah so so so this is how we were just talking
- 13:33about a guy in his garage trying to start his crypto coin or whatever.
- 13:39So this is how they make their money, right? Because you make all of your money on the front end.
- 13:45So let's say, let's keep it at Trump.
- 13:49Forget it. Let's just keep it at Trump, right? And I think when Trump launched
- 13:55his meme coin, I think it was selling at like, what, 73 or something like that, dollars a coin.
- 14:05And I think that was like its peak value.
- 14:08And he gets to keep a percentage, right? He buys a percentage and then he sells a percentage.
- 14:13We had a $10 billion value at one point total.
- 14:18So here's where the grift comes in.
- 14:22He is never in jeopardy of losing money because he's selling them at that price.
- 14:28So now if it falls, if the value of that coin falls, which it has.
- 14:36If you purchase trump coins you're out of luck but he's already made his money
- 14:42on the front end during the sale so when you purchase if you purchase 10 of
- 14:46them you just spent 730 dollars,
- 14:51now they're worth two dollars a coin so now look how much money you've wasted
- 14:58on your trump coins and i'm not kidding they are only worth like two dollars
- 15:02a coin now These meme coins are like selling cars to people,
- 15:07shipping them to their homes with no engines.
- 15:10You paid me $90,000 for this Hellcat, and then it arrives in your driveway with no engine.
- 15:17And you got it. Yeah. But it don't work. It ain't work for them.
- 15:21It was like you always say. It's fun money.
- 15:25Yeah. right and and and and this is the difference between trading stocks and
- 15:32trading crypto coins right i mean like.
- 15:37You can watch the market and see, oh, this stock is tanking. I need to get rid of it.
- 15:43When it comes to crypto and you're insured, right? Yeah.
- 15:46You're insured and it's regulated and people can't drive up the price of stock.
- 15:51Well, technically, people can't drive up until two years ago.
- 15:55Right, right. Technically, people couldn't drive up the price of stocks just
- 15:58to make it valuable and then dump it, which they call a pump and dump.
- 16:03You used to couldn't do that. But now, you know, we live in a lawless society
- 16:07where, you know, anyway, anyway, yeah, with crypto, there is no one monitoring that. Nope.
- 16:16So Trump can add its initial release.
- 16:21My coin is this. My coin is that. My coin is going to trade at X, Y and Z.
- 16:26And then a year later, his coin
- 16:28is basically worthless. But he's already profited off the initial launch.
- 16:33And now you're just stuck holding the bag, hoping one day.
- 16:38This coin becomes valuable again which it probably won't right the trump coin was basically,
- 16:47political brand loyalty that's that's
- 16:50that's pretty much all it was i'm donald trump you support me go ahead buy my
- 16:56coin and it launched what two days before his inauguration and i remember when
- 17:03they launched it i remember like what i'm doing what i'm doing right now rubbing in my eyes,
- 17:07thinking to myself, people aren't this stupid.
- 17:11There's no way. Because even if I supported him, I would have saw that and went,
- 17:16who the hell would buy that shit?
- 17:18Even if I supported him, who wants a Trump phone?
- 17:23Who wants those ugly gold tennis shoes that are probably, you pay $400, they're worthless.
- 17:30So what's funny with the gold shit is that you and I both know because he's
- 17:36been around all over TV and all that shit basically our whole lives.
- 17:41He's always had a passion for gaudy ugly things.
- 17:45Just so tacky. Always. I mean I can remember the gold toilets.
- 17:50Yeah. And shit like that. Yeah.
- 17:53And it was always tacky. Have you ever owned a pair of gold shoes?
- 17:57Not just tennis shoes, just shoes in general. No, and there's only one man who should be allowed.
- 18:03Maybe two. And that's Michael Johnson and Usain Bolt. That's it.
- 18:09Michael Johnson broke the world record and won a gold medal in them damn shoes.
- 18:13And that should have stopped right there. Man, man, bro.
- 18:17It's nuts, bro. You know, and let's talk about the Melania coin, right?
- 18:22Because this is another basically i'm going to make my money at the launch,
- 18:28and now her coins are selling at
- 18:31basically two cents two cents well it wasn't designed for long-term value it
- 18:37was designed as you said to gruff let's make this money on the front end yep
- 18:41and then we go from you know then we go from there yep yep it's all a grip so So be cautious, y'all.
- 18:51Be cautious investing in this crypto. It it it's really an unstable market.
- 18:58And like I was saying earlier, it all depends on how much someone someone else
- 19:04is willing to pay you for it.
- 19:07It really has no value unless other people is willing to spend and trade with
- 19:15you. is kind of like Pokemon cards, right?
- 19:20To you and I, a Pokemon card don't mean anything. But I guess to people when
- 19:25they're, oh man, yeah, yeah, that's a valuable card. It's just like, hey.
- 19:29Do what you will. You know what I'm saying? But but proceed with caution,
- 19:33extreme caution, especially now, because now with regulations,
- 19:37because of the Clarity Act, which is the know your customer rule.
- 19:41You're going to have to start handing over your social security number and your
- 19:44ID to deal with with Bitcoin that peer to peer.
- 19:48Like when during the war when ukraine just
- 19:51put their crypto wallet out there and raised hundreds of millions
- 19:54of dollars immediately in bitcoin to help them
- 19:57with the war those days are going to be gone right spoilers especially in the
- 20:02united states right that's it they are you're right they are currently working
- 20:06on legislation to try and regulate well no they are the clarity act it passed
- 20:12okay yeah yeah they absolutely and all this is is wall street billionaires basically,
- 20:17Climbing the ladder And then pulling the ladder up We don't want you to be here with us,
- 20:24I feel you I feel you because they've already made their money In the crypto
- 20:28world It's kind of like those infomercials back in the day Buy my book For $24.99
- 20:34it'll tell you How to become a millionaire Why would a millionaire tell you
- 20:38how to become a millionaire Like in all honesty Why,
- 20:41Seriously you're right It's sort of like a pyramid scheme of.
- 20:46Why would I want you to be a millionaire, too, unless you're in my family?
- 20:49Yeah. But why would I put it out there? The grift is the book.
- 20:53I'm going to. Because if you truly wanted me to be a millionaire and you were truly a millionaire.
- 20:59You just tell me. You would just tell me. Yeah, you wouldn't sell it to me.
- 21:02You're selling these books because you're not a damn millionaire. Right, right, right.
- 21:05The grift is the book, without a doubt. And I'm going to take it a step further.
- 21:09Our president is selling mean coin and he sold the states and all that stuff.
- 21:14Because you know why? he's not really a billionaire,
- 21:18only on paper now he
- 21:21I was about to say now he is he wasn't before
- 21:25his presidency he wasn't but since he's become president he is absolutely a
- 21:30billionaire now because he's just been stealing from the American people he
- 21:34was valued at like 1.2 billion or something like that back in the day and I
- 21:37remember people in the know were like nah he's probably only worth about 700
- 21:41million you know that's just something they inflate. Now? Yeah.
- 21:45Yeah, now he's probably what, like a six, seven billionaire, something like that.
- 21:51And then they keep passing all these stupid laws that basically stops anybody
- 21:54from holding them accountable.
- 21:56Crazy. Crazy, bro.
- 21:59Crazy. Every time I always think no man is above the law. What happened to that?
- 22:08As you heard me say before, on this podcast.
- 22:13He would he let his daughter do 10 years in prison before he stepped up.
- 22:17This is the same man whose son is getting married today and said, I might be there.
- 22:22Think he'd give a damn about the under the bus. No, I feel you. Bro, can you imagine?
- 22:29I feel you telling your children. I might. I might be at your.
- 22:33Yeah. Yeah. I got something better to do.
- 22:40Think about that. No, no, no. No, that's weird, bro. But he's weird.
- 22:45My kids would never, and I would be okay if my child was like,
- 22:48you know what? I ain't rocking with pops no more. Yeah.
- 22:52Yeah. Anything else you want to add to this crypto? No, we could talk about
- 22:57this for hours, but no, I'm good.
- 22:59All right. All right, y'all. Like I was saying, just be cautious.
- 23:04You know, I wouldn't sink, unless
- 23:06you can afford it, I wouldn't sink large chunks of money into Bitcoin.
- 23:12If you got money that you want to invest into the market, do it the traditional
- 23:17way, get you some stocks, some bonds.
- 23:20It's much safer, it's regulated, and it's insured to a certain degree.
- 23:27You won't get everything back,
- 23:31but they can't just basically take your money and you're stuck with your hands
- 23:36up you know you can't get robbed so so just uh be cautious be cautious with crypto,
- 23:44Do your research. Ask a financial planner, a financial advisor before you invest
- 23:51large amounts of money into it.
- 23:54All right. All right. Cool. We're going to leave it there. We're going to move
- 23:58right into our current events. You got you got a current event you want to talk about, bro.
- 24:02There are so many. I know is we haven't recorded in what because you were on
- 24:06vacation. We didn't record last weekend.
- 24:08Now it feels like some of these stories are old news, but just go for it, bro.
- 24:14Go ahead, because I'm deciding, because I had two rarts and two current events
- 24:19that were the same damn thing. OK.
- 24:20So I'm trying to figure out which one I want to do.
- 24:23All right. Well, you know, one, I think we'll probably have some back and forth
- 24:28on, as we did earlier this week.
- 24:31So first, I want to talk about these jets crashing in Idaho at this air show. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
- 24:40Thank God that there were no fatalities, but that's one hundred and thirty six
- 24:46million dollars gone down the drain for an air show.
- 24:53Something that does not need to happen.
- 24:56One hundred and thirty six million dollars. When do we start holding the government
- 25:02accountable for wasting our money?
- 25:06Two planes, one hundred and thirty six million just gone.
- 25:09Poof just like that and and it's crazy
- 25:12you've probably heard the flyovers today from the
- 25:15blue angels oh yeah yeah yeah and all
- 25:18i'm thinking is how much money are we wasting with
- 25:21this it as you get older you you start to realize like how beneficial it's cool
- 25:28to see yeah it is but you're right is it necessary yeah is it necessary yeah
- 25:34how much money did we just waste with these pilots and then you throw in the risk of the crash,
- 25:41and we lose fighter jets,
- 25:43and pilots can you imagine well yeah your son was doing an aerial maneuver at
- 25:48an air show and now he's dead yeah yeah yeah,
- 25:52so that's one thing I wanted to talk about but I also want to talk about the 1,700,776,
- 26:03whatever it is the 1776 slush fund.
- 26:07That oh my god.
- 26:11That Trump is trying to steal from the American people,
- 26:15with no real rhyme or reason to
- 26:18it it's just a it's just a theft it's just a straight up theft a fund that he
- 26:25just created out of thin air in order to drop the 10 million dollar lawsuit
- 26:2910 billion dollar I'm sorry 10 billion lawsuit which in itself is crazy.
- 26:37I just can't go and claim because you did this to me. You cost me 10 billion.
- 26:44Where's your proof? Where's your evidence that this cost you 10 billion dollars?
- 26:49That's first and foremost.
- 26:50You just can't pick a number out of thin air because they release your taxes
- 26:55and say this cost you 10 billion dollars.
- 26:57You got to prove that that's first and foremost.
- 27:01But where are you getting this number from?
- 27:061776 billion you know it oh i
- 27:10know i know it yeah i know it took me it
- 27:13took me two days to go can you can you can
- 27:15you be more obvious with your racist dog whistle it took me two days and one
- 27:21day i was reading an article and i saw wait a minute because i just wasn't i
- 27:26was so angry about it yeah and i saw it and i'm like boy this this fake patriotism
- 27:31in this country man It's nuts, bro. And that's all it is.
- 27:36How can I get the American people to get behind this?
- 27:39Oh, oh, oh, 1776.
- 27:43They'll support it. Let's go. It's about patriotism. Knock it off, dude.
- 27:49Knock it off. I mean, seriously, bro. Seriously. And then to say,
- 27:53I didn't I didn't know anything about it, bro.
- 27:55You came up with the 1776 because that's exactly something that you would do.
- 28:00Either him or Stephen Miller.
- 28:01Yeah, you're you're you're you're a cornball and that's your M.O.
- 28:07You came up with the one seven seven six, bro. Knock it off.
- 28:10You didn't know anything about it.
- 28:12Knock it off. That that has you all over it.
- 28:17And again, you're just picking a number out of thin air before the court awards
- 28:23you a settlement like this. You have to show that.
- 28:28It's probable. And it's not going to happen, by the way. Yeah.
- 28:31You're not going to get that money. Yeah. It's not. Hey, you know what's crazy, bro?
- 28:36Was it a $50,000 sign in Bowdoin's? They said ICE was getting or something like that.
- 28:42Yeah. You know them fools didn't get that money, bro.
- 28:45But you know why? Because they didn't read the contracts.
- 28:48It was spread out over like 10 years. Yeah. Yeah.
- 28:52Yeah. So I'm putting my life on the line, putting my family at risk, because now.
- 28:58Nobody likes us so anybody can can roll
- 29:01up and and and try to do some harm to
- 29:04me and i'm doing this because i'm expecting a fifty thousand
- 29:07dollar check so i can pay off my bills or whatever
- 29:10but let's be real most of these cats did it because of marica i
- 29:13want to support marica that's why they did it they
- 29:16wanted to get out there and be as racist as fucking possible without
- 29:19repercussions you know it i know it's
- 29:24crazy good for they asses no you're right good
- 29:27form you're right good for y'all that y'all fell for the okie doke
- 29:30but at the same time why would anyone trust anything this guy says remember
- 29:37when people when he first got elected and people were saying run in the country
- 29:41because i worked for a couple cats that was like running the country like a
- 29:44business is beneficial and i I remember saying back then, no,
- 29:47it's not. It's the worst idea ever.
- 29:49This is what it's like to work for him. Correct.
- 29:52What you're seeing. You get, you get holes to 90% of the time.
- 29:55Which I will talk about in a little while.
- 29:58That's exactly what you get. It's what contractors have gotten.
- 30:04Played. Do the work and then he don't pay you. Just get played.
- 30:10Yeah. Yeah. No, you're, you're, you're right, bro. This is exactly what it's
- 30:14like to work for him. And you're right. And this is exactly it.
- 30:17Here's why you can't run the country like a business. First off.
- 30:24As a president, you are a public servant.
- 30:29You are supposed to work for the people, not the other way around.
- 30:34You're not the boss of America.
- 30:36You're the representative for America.
- 30:41No one's supposed to technically work for you.
- 30:45They work for the people. And every action that you do or take is supposed to
- 30:52be in the best interest of the people, whether they voted for you or not.
- 30:58It's irrelevant. You're supposed to do what's in the best interest of the people.
- 31:03And I think that's something that we've lost as Americans.
- 31:08Not just for the president. I think all the way through government,
- 31:11we've lost that very notion.
- 31:14The idea that you clowns work for the people.
- 31:20You are not the boss. You're not the guy. If you're the governor of your state,
- 31:24you're not the boss of that state.
- 31:26You work for the people.
- 31:28I think these guys lost that a long time ago. And it's all about the title and
- 31:34the entitlement that comes along with being elected.
- 31:38And I think that's something we really need to get back to is,
- 31:42hey, you're a public servant. You work for us.
- 31:45We tell you what to do, not the other way around.
- 31:49As as as sad as this is, something happens to you and you pass on,
- 31:55there'll be a replacement.
- 31:56And there'll be a replacement in that office Especially Hell we saw with JFK
- 32:03and Lyndon Johnson Lyndon Johnson was being sworn in as the body Was being flown back to D.C.
- 32:07Facts The first lady was standing behind him with blood On her damn dress Facts
- 32:13You are not bigger than the country Which tells you you are a figurehead You
- 32:18have been elected As much as we hate The fact that you have been elected You've been elected.
- 32:26Doesn't make you the boss. Correct. It's why companies have boards of directors.
- 32:30CEO is a figurehead to do what's best for the company.
- 32:34Guess what, CEO? If you lose a company for $20 million, you are fired. Yep, you get fired.
- 32:40But in this country, with politics, we have made it where it's so difficult to recall somebody.
- 32:47And it shouldn't be that way. It really shouldn't. It should be extremely.
- 32:51Now, yes, you should have to go through certain little things because if That's
- 32:54the case. Sure. You need guardrails.
- 32:55Sure. We'll be recalling every damn body. Correct. Correct. You know, correct.
- 32:59Correct. But but when it's blatant, like it's been blatant in one and a half terms.
- 33:07And in half a term here in Indiana. Facts.
- 33:10Facts. Yeah. A lot of these guys should be losing their positions.
- 33:14A lot of them. Get out of here.
- 33:18He's literally just like destroyed the emoluments clause.
- 33:23Destroyed it. No other president in history has profited like this clown off of being president.
- 33:32None. Remember how mad people got when Obama was was making money off book sales? Yeah.
- 33:38Dude, Jimmy Carter sold his peanut farm. Yeah.
- 33:41George Bush got got of a got out of his ownership with the Rangers.
- 33:46I was just about to say it. Yes.
- 33:47Yes. He had to sell his portion of the Texas Rangers.
- 33:50People don't realize that George Bush is a baseball man. Yeah.
- 33:53Yeah, he played college ball. And he stepped away like, yeah,
- 33:57you know, I can't do that anymore because I'm about to be president. Yeah. Yeah.
- 34:01Yeah. And anyway, bro, those are my current events that I wanted to discuss.
- 34:05So I don't know if you've heard about this. So there's a lawsuit currently going
- 34:09right now over the black doctor registry or directory. So there is a dermatologist
- 34:16in Colorado. His name is Travis Morrell.
- 34:19He is basically funded by Do Not Harm, which is a conservative nonprofit.
- 34:26And they are actively against DEI and other initiatives in health care.
- 34:34So there is a website that was started basically for black folks to find black doctors. Right.
- 34:41So instead of him using one of the 50,000 other platforms where he is listed as a doctor,
- 34:51where people can find him, he files a lawsuit because he applied to be on the
- 34:57website and they denied him because he was white.
- 35:01Right.
- 35:04So there is currently a lawsuit to shut the Web site down and they're using
- 35:09the Civil Rights Act of 1866.
- 35:13Now, here's what's funny about that. Last time I checked, the Civil Rights Act
- 35:17of 1866 was put into putting a law and it took another, what,
- 35:22ninety nine years for that Civil Rights Act to even be enforced? Pretty much.
- 35:29But a white man got it to be enacted at the snap of a finger.
- 35:34Well. So, and this is part of a broader strategy.
- 35:38So last year they filed, remember the ladies that had the nonprofit and they
- 35:42were looking to hand $20,000 to black entrepreneurs?
- 35:46This is the same group that's doing the same thing. Okay.
- 35:51Now, you and I both know that if you're white, you could go to an HBCU. Sure.
- 35:57And I mentioned, what, two, three weeks ago, you can even win homecoming king.
- 36:02You can win homecoming queen at an HBCU.
- 36:05Nobody's stopping white folks from doing that.
- 36:08But to stop someone, a group of people, marginalized people who make up such
- 36:16a small portion of this country, we make up, what, 13%?
- 36:20Black physicians, 4% of the medical field. Right.
- 36:25And you're attacking a website where it's only 4% of the medical field on here.
- 36:32And it's not because you want to be included. It's not because you're looking for black patients.
- 36:36Right. It's because you want that marginalized community to stay where it is. Right.
- 36:43Correct. And you know what's crazy? They'll win that loss.
- 36:47They'll win it. Well, no, I'm sorry. They'll lose it. They'll appeal to the
- 36:51Supreme Court and then they'll win it six to three. Yep. Without a doubt.
- 36:55Without a doubt. Are you familiar with the shenanigans going on in the EOCC?
- 37:01Oh, God, yes. I mean, they're actively campaigning for white men to file claims
- 37:08that they've been discriminated against.
- 37:13I'm using air quotes, y'all. Discriminated against because they don't get a position at their job.
- 37:18Maybe you just weren't the best candidate.
- 37:23You know, it it used to be really hard to win a discrimination case.
- 37:29I mean, the buy it had to be really, really, really biased.
- 37:34I'm sorry. The bias had to be really implicit, really blatant.
- 37:38I mean, you damn near had to have a letter saying, hey, we intended to keep
- 37:43such and such out of this job because they're white or because they're black
- 37:46or whatever the case may be doing whatever ethnic group you want. But the E.O.C.C.
- 37:52Is basically putting out a bat signal. Hey, white men.
- 37:57Hey, Holler at us. If you didn't get a promotion and you think it was because,
- 38:02you know, D.E.I. Holler at us. You know, it's funny.
- 38:07None of this is new as far as what's happening. any time throughout history
- 38:13black folks have made any strides, white men have come along and knocked them
- 38:19back down three or four pegs. Mm-hmm.
- 38:22It's crazy, bro. Any time throughout history where white men have felt that
- 38:27they have lost any traction, they have come along and completely derailed what
- 38:34was happening in that era.
- 38:35But they'll tell you that we don't need DEI initiatives and we don't need affirmative
- 38:41action. And they'll tell you all of that silly mess.
- 38:45And like these, your actions are the very reason why these programs were created,
- 38:52because you do everything within your power to keep us locked out of success.
- 38:59Now, and I won't say this publicly. I've said it privately.
- 39:03Obviously, diversity, equity, inclusion, equity and inclusion is not just black folks.
- 39:07No, it has been tattooed on us. Correct. And I used to always,
- 39:12we've said it a couple times on here, you do realize this includes your wives, white, red. Correct.
- 39:17And then I took five steps back and I said, oh, they already know that.
- 39:22They just don't care. Because they don't give a fuck either.
- 39:24Yeah. They'd much rather have their wives at home. Yeah. Cooking their dinners. Yeah.
- 39:28And if they do have a job, you better get off at four o'clock and be home making
- 39:33my dinner. because I'm incapable of being not a man a fucking adult mm.
- 39:42Because adults know that they
- 39:43have to eat, but their wife or their husband or whoever is home or not.
- 39:50I'm going to get into that in my work. I'm going to get into that. Like that.
- 39:54And we've talked about it way back when we first started.
- 39:59Bro, if I had an off day and my wife came home and I've been through this, I'm speaking.
- 40:08And there was no plan on what we were doing for dinner or food wasn't on the table.
- 40:15I was going to hear it. Right. And that didn't make me less of a man.
- 40:19This is my, this, we are a unit. I've been to work all day. You were off today.
- 40:24All you did was vacuum the floor and you ain't make no dinner.
- 40:27All right. Let's table that because that's exactly what my writer is about.
- 40:32So, okay. I guess we're not going to table it.
- 40:35We're just going to roll right into it so my work
- 40:38my rant about a random topic for this week
- 40:41is about gender roles to piggyback on what my brother was just saying by the
- 40:48way guys i didn't know he was doing this so no no no this is yeah yeah yeah
- 40:52as i as i'm sitting here listening to and i'm like oh wow because my work is
- 40:55about exactly what he's talking about yeah my my my work is about gender roles.
- 41:02Now, to make this a little bit personal, my children are adults.
- 41:09They've left the nest. It's just my wife and I here. I work a full-time job.
- 41:14My wife works a full-time job.
- 41:18To go with what you were just saying, how would I look as a man saying, I'm not washing dishes?
- 41:26I'm not cooking. I'm not vacuuming the floor. I'm not sweeping the floor. That's your job.
- 41:34Oh, and you need to go work and do all of that.
- 41:39And I'm going to just sit here and chill and wait on you to come home and cook
- 41:43and clean and wash the dishes.
- 41:47And I'll cook the grass. I'll take out the trash. But you need to do X, Y, and Z.
- 41:54It doesn't make sense, bro. It's not manly.
- 41:59It's actually pretty childish. It's actually immature.
- 42:03Grow up. What I think is going to happen if that's the way that you carry your
- 42:08end. Wait, let me backtrack.
- 42:11Let me say this, because I don't want to meddle in anyone's relationship.
- 42:18What goes on behind closed doors in another relationship, that's your business.
- 42:23And if that's how y'all operate, cool.
- 42:26That's how y'all operate. But for most people, that's not the reality.
- 42:32As a man, you need to help out whenever and wherever.
- 42:39It's not about being a simp.
- 42:42It's just about doing what needs to be done. I wash dishes. I vacuum.
- 42:50I cook on my off days. You know what I'm saying?
- 42:54I clean. I do chores around the house because it needs to be done because I
- 43:01can't expect her to come home from her job and do all of that. And and then.
- 43:10You know, like the song, say, from back in the day, be Superwoman.
- 43:13You want me to do all of that and have some intimacy time at the end of the night, too?
- 43:20Well, I'm not a psychic, but I predict that you're not going to be married very
- 43:25long if that's your outlook.
- 43:28You know, straight get the middle finger. Yeah, it's just like let's get out
- 43:33of these societal norms. Times have changed.
- 43:38That's over. It's different if your wife is a stay-at-home wife,
- 43:44not even a stay-at-home mom, right?
- 43:46Because stay-at-home mom is something different.
- 43:49If you're changing diapers and doing all of that kind of stuff,
- 43:54that's even a stressful day.
- 43:56If your wife doesn't work at all, then yeah, I guess you could kind of say,
- 44:01hey, baby, you know, when I come home from work, the house should be clean.
- 44:05You should have something cooked if she stays at home all day.
- 44:08But if she's working the same way that you're working, man, get real,
- 44:15get real, grow up, get, get, get out of this gender role mess.
- 44:20You know what I'm saying? And like I said, that's that's not me simping.
- 44:23That's me, in my opinion, trying to be the best partner that I can be for my wife.
- 44:31We got to tag team this thing because this is not going to wash themselves.
- 44:36I don't know. Floors not going to sweep themselves.
- 44:39Carpet not going to vacuum itself.
- 44:42We just need to team up and get this shit done because it needs to get done.
- 44:47And that's the only way I look at it. I do what needs to be done.
- 44:52It ain't about this is a man's job or a woman's job. It's a job that needs to be done.
- 44:58And between the two of us, somebody got to do it.
- 45:01So let's just do it and let's just knock it out and get it done no sense in arguing about it.
- 45:08Thing i've mentioned before my father did everything now obviously my mother
- 45:12did too but everything my mother did around the house my father did cooking
- 45:18mopping you know vacuuming.
- 45:22Whatever and there ain't a person we grew up with that would
- 45:25look at my father and say he wasn't a man correct no
- 45:29one correct correct so
- 45:32i mirrored what i saw yeah well shoot i
- 45:35my pop's doing this stuff of course it needs to be done and of course my mother
- 45:39taught me you know cooking in the kitchen and this and that but i learned from
- 45:43watching both of them because my father can cook yeah so i've learned from watching
- 45:47both of them yeah and not not only that who wants to be in a nasty house,
- 45:53so so so you're gonna sit around and let the house be nasty and filthy just
- 45:58throw shit in the yeah and tell your wife comes home to pick it up or clean
- 46:02it up man that that that is such a a.
- 46:07Childish, privileged brat type attitude to have.
- 46:11And it says a lot about the people that raised you too. No, yeah.
- 46:14You don't want a wife. You want a mommy.
- 46:18You want a servant. Yeah, yeah.
- 46:22I don't know. It's just something that I'm not with, man. That's all I got from
- 46:26my work, bro. You got a work this week? I do.
- 46:28Now, I'll be honest. I didn't get enough. I didn't get a chance to dig deep
- 46:34into what happened overnight last night.
- 46:39But I don't know if you know this yet.
- 46:41Do you know the DOJ purged January 6th records overnight last night?
- 46:46So there is no record of any of these clowns who got arrested?
- 46:49They took certain things out.
- 46:52They omitted certain words, certain sayings. Yeah.
- 46:58Oh, geez, O.P. Yeah. Yeah. So they went in and hold on. Let me let me find.
- 47:05So I'll give you an example.
- 47:08They basically went in and took out things that said attack.
- 47:12Yeah. And put in patriots. Sure.
- 47:15Entirely deleting records of convention of convictions. like they're they they
- 47:21completely changed the scope of what happened why.
- 47:26Hell, we could talk about that forever. Because they can get some of this money.
- 47:30Because they were going to have those provisions in place that said if you're
- 47:35violent and you committed assault, yada, yada, yada, you're not eligible for the money.
- 47:40So by removing all of that language, they have in turn made these fools eligible for this money.
- 47:48There's something deeper behind that, too. But go ahead. Go ahead,
- 47:51bro. To me. And I know you never watched Blacklist.
- 47:55And I know it's a horrible analogy. if anybody that's watched it,
- 47:58because I watched it, I enjoyed it. But he worked with the FBI.
- 48:01They overlooked a lot of things. He committed crimes. He killed people on the
- 48:05show while actively being an informant for the FBI, giving them cases to work. That's what this is.
- 48:13He signed agreements with the director of the FBI as a CI.
- 48:21That's what this is. We're gonna sugarcoat everything so you can advance.
- 48:26It's like when somebody has a record and then they're eligible for expungement
- 48:30so they can get a better job.
- 48:33Y'all are doing it without them even fucking asking you to do it.
- 48:37I think there's something else at play here, though.
- 48:40He's buying loyalty. He's buying an army, bro.
- 48:45This is the underlying darkness.
- 48:51Is that he's buying an army.
- 48:55By giving these fools all this money, when I lose in 2028, hey, y'all, let's go attack.
- 49:03This fool is buying loyalty. He's buying an army.
- 49:08That's what I think this is really about, bro. I really think he's trying to
- 49:12get these fools paid so he can have his own privatized little army.
- 49:19Now, don't get me wrong. They'll get smashed if it come down to it.
- 49:23Because the last I mean, the last time that happened. Yeah. Yeah.
- 49:27Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. They'll get smashed. Fifteen hundred people are clearly not going to be enough.
- 49:33Well, half of them are back in jail. that part
- 49:36too but i i really think this
- 49:39fool is trying to buy loyalty bro i really do
- 49:42but here's here's here's the thing right and
- 49:45and this isn't my idea you know i've heard other people saying this don lemon
- 49:51should freaking apply georgia fort should apply you know what i'm saying hey
- 49:57the doj prosecuted us we didn't do anything wrong you know what i'm saying what's
- 50:02old girl and her mom that Giuliani owed the money.
- 50:06They should apply. You know what I'm saying?
- 50:09Anybody who was freaking Hunter Biden should apply. Oh, he should be the first
- 50:15one in line. He should already apply.
- 50:17Check this out, bro. Kamala Harris should apply. Yeah, why not?
- 50:22Hey, y'all, y'all, y'all definitely went after me.
- 50:26Yeah. Anybody who's these idiots
- 50:30have tried to prosecute should freaking apply just so they can say no.
- 50:36And then you go, well, why? I
- 50:39thought I thought I thought Todd Blanch said anyone is eligible to apply.
- 50:43So why are you telling me no when I got a case that's just as good,
- 50:48better, in fact, because these guys were actually convicted of crimes?
- 50:53So if they get the money and I beat my case that the government brought,
- 50:59you got to give me my money, player.
- 51:01So the reason they did it and this is what they said, quote,
- 51:06it was partisan propaganda.
- 51:08So they got rid of it. So the riot didn't happen.
- 51:12So don't don't believe our lying eyes. Now, forget the videos we saw.
- 51:17This is this was the exact quote, the full quote. The DOJ leadership publicly
- 51:21stated they removed the info because they considered the past prosecutions,
- 51:25partisan propaganda and aimed to reverse the DOJ's weaponization.
- 51:31Now, here's the broader context of that.
- 51:35Were hoping that this got hidden. My head's going to explode.
- 51:38Because you know they adjusted over 8,000 federal web pages and databases across multiple agencies.
- 51:45Like they made adjustments. I don't know what those adjustments were.
- 51:48But they made adjustments overnight to over 8,000.
- 51:52So much so that a federal judge actually saved and archived everything to his federal website.
- 52:02Like the court's federal website.
- 52:05So you can still find the original shit. Yeah. But can you imagine?
- 52:10I'm trying to think of an event.
- 52:16This may get me in trouble. Can you imagine it getting out that the prince in
- 52:22Saudi Arabia said, well, no, those 19 hijackers didn't do that.
- 52:28Yeah. Imagine the outrage in this country. Yeah.
- 52:32You imagine the outrage in Saudi Arabia, in the Middle East in general?
- 52:36Yeah. Because there's a lot of people out there, obviously, that condemned 9-11.
- 52:39Yeah. In the Middle East.
- 52:41Yeah. See how stupid that shit sounded, to say it out loud?
- 52:45This is all stupid, bro. I mean, as I say, my head is going to explode.
- 52:51And I'm going to take it a step further.
- 52:53We can't do the research right now because we're actually recording.
- 52:56And in the background, shots fired near White House. Mm-hmm. I've never been to D.C.
- 53:03That don't look like that's near a White House. Mm-mm.
- 53:07How many shots rang out? Because the White House is surrounded by the hood.
- 53:11Correct. Always has been. Correct.
- 53:13Correct. The hood is like right across the street. Let me say that again.
- 53:17Always has been. Correct.
- 53:20But what are we doing? Correct. So now we got the White House on lockdown because
- 53:26a gunshot was fired three or four blocks away in D.C.?
- 53:31I was about to get us in trouble. Bro, do you know how bad I just want to leave
- 53:35and go to the Caribbean for like three or four years? Yeah.
- 53:39And just stress like every day we wake up, it's something else.
- 53:46It's it's not to say that not not to be a conspiracy theorist,
- 53:52but in my opinion, all of this is a way to inflate his importance.
- 54:02But he's done that his entire life. I'm just saying, bro.
- 54:05I'm just saying all people are trying to kill me. No one's trying to kill you, bro. Knock it off.
- 54:10No one's trying to kill you. he's been
- 54:13doing this shit his entire life
- 54:17it's a way to inflate his importance and
- 54:21it's also a way for him to pass some dumb
- 54:24crazy law it or
- 54:27to try and do the grip like we were saying last podcast
- 54:31how in the hell does an attempt on your life lead to the ballroom being a national
- 54:38security threat what in what universe bro it's it's all oh i say i don't i don't,
- 54:50i don't want to i don't want to do that on this podcast let me say this and
- 54:56and i'm i'm it's gonna sound like well i guess it is disrespecting the secret
- 55:00service if all of these things are what they are. Like, let's just say they're all real.
- 55:05There's got to be the worst group of secret service agents in the United States history.
- 55:10I've never seen no shit like this. And Ronald Reagan survived an assassination
- 55:15attempt. But you know what I saw?
- 55:18Within half a second, dude was subdued and on the ground.
- 55:23Did they let Ronald Reagan pose? They injured him.
- 55:27Putting him in the dam. They injured Reagan more. Putting him in a limo.
- 55:32Did they let him pose for a picture and scream fight, fight, fight three times?
- 55:37Putting him in plain sight of a sniper's view?
- 55:41I'm just saying. Most ridiculous. I'm just saying.
- 55:44I ain't saying. I'm just saying. Most ridiculous TV production of it.
- 55:48I ain't saying. I'm just saying.
- 55:52I say it.
- 55:54I ain't saying. I'm just saying. And I'm telling you, and I think I told you
- 55:59back then, right after that shit happened, I think within 10 minutes in our
- 56:04group chat, not you and I group chat, but a different group chat I'm in,
- 56:09First text was, there's your new president. Oh, without a doubt.
- 56:14Without a doubt. And he said, he said, there's your new president.
- 56:17This right here just secured him the election. I agree.
- 56:21I agree. I agree with that 100%. That event 100% won him the presidency.
- 56:27I agree with you 100%. But yeah, we got to move on, bro, because we will get
- 56:33ourselves in trouble if we continue down this path. And for people listening,
- 56:37there's no such thing as Trump derangement syndrome. We're just not stupid.
- 56:41Oh, facts. Facts. Show me any doctor that says that that's a real ailment.
- 56:46We're just not stupid. We've seen this story play our entire lives. Yeah.
- 56:53All right, y'all. We're going to roll into our next segment,
- 56:56which is five on the black hand side.
- 57:00And man, I feel like we need a comedy to talk about.
- 57:06Well, there's certain parts of this movie that were comical. Okay.
- 57:10All right, y'all. So the movie we chose for this week is 1992's South Central.
- 57:19My brother, take it away. All right. So as my brother said, 1992,
- 57:24it was released, which was what, our junior year?
- 57:27Mm-hmm. Well, depending on. Depending on when it was released.
- 57:30I can't remember what month it was.
- 57:32Directed by Steven Anderson. Mm-hmm. Something I didn't know.
- 57:36You know who produced this movie?
- 57:39Oliver Stone. Really?
- 57:43The Oliver Stone. Oh, wow. Mr. Born on the 4th of July.
- 57:47Interesting. So also it was adapted from, which I didn't know this either,
- 57:52from Donald Baker's book, the original South Central L.A. Crips. Okay.
- 57:56So the movie, which is, they didn't, we'll get to that.
- 58:01So the main cast, Glenn Palmer as Bobby Johnson.
- 58:05But here's what's funny. Would have been our senior year, by the way, bro.
- 58:09Okay. Was it October, November? September. September. Yeah.
- 58:13Hell, yeah, maybe. Because, you know, hell, we didn't go back to school until
- 58:16like, what? September 18th. September 18th.
- 58:19Oh, yeah, we were a couple days in the school. Yeah.
- 58:23I found a couple of nicknames for him. Online, they calling him Bobby Badass Johnson.
- 58:30I was like, no, that's OG Bobby Johnson. I was about to say it's OG Bobby Johnson
- 58:34all day. What are you talking about?
- 58:36So Glenn Plummer is OG Bobby Johnson.
- 58:40Christian Coleman is J-Rock.
- 58:43Byron Keith Mims is Ray Rape. Carl Lumbly is Ali.
- 58:47And Loretta Shelby is Carol. I could go on and on.
- 58:52Right, right, right. So a brief synopsis of the movie, South Central takes a
- 58:57look at the generational curse of gang violence and the uphill battle for redemption.
- 59:01The story follows OG Bobby Johnson, a young man caught in a self-perpetuating cycle of street life.
- 59:06After receiving a 10-year prison sentence for murdering a rival gang leader
- 59:11on behalf of his friend, Ray Ray, Bobby undergoes a massive transformation behind
- 59:16bars. mentored by a Muslim inmate named Ali.
- 59:19Bobby educates himself, finds peace and disavows his gang ties. Oh, shoot. Hold up.
- 59:27My screen jumped on me. God bless America.
- 59:30When Bobby is finally released, the streets have only gotten worse.
- 59:33He returns home to find that the cycle he helped build has swallowed his family.
- 59:37His son, Jimmy, is now a 10-year-old hard gang member working for Ray Ray and
- 59:42his child's mother Carol is lost or she was lost to severe drug addiction.
- 59:48The core of the film is Bobby's desperate fight to pull his son out of the gang life.
- 59:52That used to be his own entire identity.
- 59:57I got mixed feelings about this movie.
- 1:00:03On one hand, as you were saying earlier,
- 1:00:07the cycle of inner city youths, the gang violence, and how some people are just born into it.
- 1:00:16And it's just a trap for them, for lack of a better word.
- 1:00:22So I get that part of it. I get the initial message.
- 1:00:27But at the same time, and this is around the same time that Boys in the Hood
- 1:00:31and Menace to Society and Juice,
- 1:00:34Colors, all of those movies came out And and look at back then,
- 1:00:41of course, we thought, oh, it's cool. Another hood. It was great.
- 1:00:45But now it's just blaxploitation. The same 1970s blaxploitation with all of
- 1:00:52the Superfly movies and all that stuff.
- 1:00:54I feel like all of these movies were just blaxploitation or hoodsploitation to call it another name.
- 1:01:03Well, I said in the beginning, Oliver Stone was the producer.
- 1:01:06The hell is Oliver Stone producing this movie? Yeah.
- 1:01:08And this was the way to break into Hollywood around that time is to make you
- 1:01:13a hood movie highlighting the derogatory living circumstances of young black youths.
- 1:01:22My issue is this.
- 1:01:25Everyone didn't grow up like this and often feel like that's the narrative that
- 1:01:32they try and portray with these type of movies is just like This is the typical
- 1:01:37young black man's childhood. It's not.
- 1:01:43Not it's just not we saw
- 1:01:45some crazy shit but the the
- 1:01:49shit that like we could get on here and talk about stories for
- 1:01:52for days yeah but it was very rare where something so tragic happened when we
- 1:01:58grew up that it just rocked us to the core i mean yeah i mean unfortunately
- 1:02:03for you and i you know junior and senior year there were there were things that happened that.
- 1:02:11Shaped who we were for the next 10 years of our lives. For sure.
- 1:02:15But occasionally something crazy will happen and you'll hear about somebody being shot.
- 1:02:20Like, damn, that's messed up. But it was never a constant.
- 1:02:25Right. Like, we enjoyed our childhood. At least I know. Oh, I know you did.
- 1:02:30But, I mean, I know I did. We didn't.
- 1:02:33Somebody would fight every once in a while. But, like, this shit here was literally
- 1:02:38just movies. And we're we're not saying that it didn't happen. It didn't happen.
- 1:02:43Correct. We are not saying right. We are not saying that it didn't happen.
- 1:02:47We're just saying that this is not every young black man's lived experience.
- 1:02:53In fact, I'm gonna go as far as to say it's not even most black men's lived
- 1:02:59experience. I would say this is probably less than 10 to 15 percent of all the hoods.
- 1:03:06Because, look, Ice Cube didn't grow up in Beverly Hills.
- 1:03:12He grew up in South Central Los Angeles, but he grew up in a great home.
- 1:03:16Two-parent household. Right. And I think it was his mother or father.
- 1:03:20Somebody worked at UCLA Medical Center. I can't remember what they did.
- 1:03:23But when he stepped out those doors, the reality of what was going on in the
- 1:03:28streets was a part of his everyday life.
- 1:03:31However, he didn't have to live the same life that J-Rock lived in the movie.
- 1:03:36Because when he went home, my moms and pops wasn't playing that nonsense.
- 1:03:42Whereas this movie was just, I want to say it was more or less a...
- 1:03:48This is what can happen type of thing and
- 1:03:52i get the redemption art oh yeah for
- 1:03:54og bobby johnson thankfully it wasn't somebody yeah yeah yeah yeah i get that
- 1:04:00you know him getting out of jail and you know finding out that his ex was uh
- 1:04:03strong out and all of that stuff and trying to go save his son from the gang
- 1:04:09and and save his son from man we've we're skipping so much we're like damn I'm just getting to the end.
- 1:04:15Let's go back. Let's talk about.
- 1:04:20Let's talk about J-Rock. The haircut or the actor? The haircut was terrible. The acting was worse.
- 1:04:29Thanks, Ray Ray. Oh, my goodness, bro.
- 1:04:35When he got locked up. Deuce. Ain't nobody scared of that, man.
- 1:04:42The acting was so bad from that little fella.
- 1:04:45I don't know if he's still acting or not. I hope he's worked on his craft.
- 1:04:49But yeah, the acting was terrible.
- 1:04:51But yeah, his haircut was just like, man, bro, seriously. His haircut was worse
- 1:04:55than old boy from Power Rangers.
- 1:04:57Black Ranger. Yeah, it really was. It was.
- 1:05:00And look, we quote this movie a lot in everyday life.
- 1:05:04I know I do. I'll bring up stuff sometimes around the house because some of that stuff is funny.
- 1:05:11When I re-watched this, I was like, it's a serious ass movie.
- 1:05:15This movie is serious as hell. It really is.
- 1:05:19Like the whole prison thing. Yeah. Like interfering and getting a Sherm head.
- 1:05:26Yeah. Interfering and saying it's an OG call. That was pretty much his downfall in prison.
- 1:05:30Right. But it brought him to Ali to start changing his life around.
- 1:05:35But it made his life a living hell in prison.
- 1:05:37Because he realized that once he stepped up and made that OG call that the deuce
- 1:05:42was like, we don't want no Shermhead in the deuce.
- 1:05:46It's like, damn, they ain't got my back. These Aryans coming after me,
- 1:05:50but brother Ali was the one that gave him, speaking of bad actor, Bubba was horrible.
- 1:05:57You owe us 15 bucks. What?
- 1:06:02What, Bubba? So, I like, you know, that, you know, let's get rid of that tattoo
- 1:06:08tear off of your face. Oh, yeah.
- 1:06:11You know what I'm saying? I like, you know, like you.
- 1:06:15Loco. Loco was his name. Yeah. You think that this is a badge of honor and you
- 1:06:22think that this proves your manhood.
- 1:06:24He's like, oh, this is a flag.
- 1:06:29The people in power that you did something terrible he's like get this mess
- 1:06:34off your face that's one of the first things we're gonna do and then he introduced
- 1:06:37him to read man educate yourself,
- 1:06:40you know i i like that part of it
- 1:06:43and i like the fact that when he got out he's like
- 1:06:46this is the first thing i'm gonna do is i gotta go save my
- 1:06:50son i gotta go recover my son so i like
- 1:06:53that aspect of it but yeah just uh
- 1:06:56i mean first of all what dude was 75 pounds soaking wet i'm talking about j-rock
- 1:07:03if he was 75 pounds with them damn white socks pulled up to his knees with them
- 1:07:07big ass shoes can you take a shotgun slug to the back and not die buckshot.
- 1:07:16I don't know, bro. I don't even know if you could take a buckshot at that age.
- 1:07:21Oh, at that age. I was about to say, you and I both know somebody who's done
- 1:07:24buckshots. Oh, no, no, no. I'm talking about at that age, bro. But it was a distance.
- 1:07:29He was probably about 30 feet away.
- 1:07:32Because those buckshots, when they spread. No, sure. It was like little BB,
- 1:07:36especially from 30. Now, 5, 10 feet away, now you're done.
- 1:07:40But that was sad, too. Just the visual of a 10-year-old being shot on camera. No, no, no. No, no, no.
- 1:07:48It was insane.
- 1:07:50And it to skip back to the end, this is what O.G. Bobby Johnson is trying to save him from.
- 1:07:58So his his his buddy who helped him start the deuce, they go in,
- 1:08:03basically kidnap the man that shot J-Rock.
- 1:08:08And they're trying to get him to get his revenge by killing this man that shot
- 1:08:14J-Rock. But the most important part is the man wasn't trying.
- 1:08:20He felt remorseful after shooting him.
- 1:08:23He just thought he was a regular intruder.
- 1:08:26Oh, we forgot to say he was shot because Ray Ray had him and his homeboys stealing car radios. Right.
- 1:08:35Which for the younger crowd, that used to happen awful. Oh, man.
- 1:08:39Hey, I didn't I didn't had my radio stole out my car.
- 1:08:42That's why. And my speaker. If you ever look around and you see old pictures
- 1:08:47of the 80s and 90s of people carrying their radios in their hands,
- 1:08:51that's them pullouts, boy. The pullout radios. Yep.
- 1:08:55Man, good old days. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. So, yeah.
- 1:09:02Said man i i don't know i got i got mixed feelings about this
- 1:09:05movie i do it it has some
- 1:09:08very touching scenes but then like the
- 1:09:10acting was bad even the touching scene where
- 1:09:14he you know i'm your father yeah at
- 1:09:16the end jay rock embraced him
- 1:09:19but it his his
- 1:09:22acting chops at that time wasn't even enough to show
- 1:09:25like this is my father he he just
- 1:09:28saved me let me hug him and show some emotion yeah it
- 1:09:31was just kind of like all right now give him a hug like
- 1:09:34the director told him give him a hug oh hug my
- 1:09:37father okay cool yeah it just now of course
- 1:09:40with uh with glenn plumber he's a
- 1:09:43he doesn't glenn glenn plumber is like a
- 1:09:46a trained actor though yeah i mean even
- 1:09:49though he got a lot of thug roles yeah at the
- 1:09:52beginning of his career he's actually like a really yes trained
- 1:09:55actor yeah i've always
- 1:09:59wondered would the potato theme work what the
- 1:10:02silencer yeah myth busters did that i think did they
- 1:10:05would it work it silenced it but not not like that muffled or silenced muffled
- 1:10:11oh no i ain't gonna silence it so you you will still hear the pop just just
- 1:10:15not as loud but i think one of the biggest misconceptions that people have too
- 1:10:19is that you can hear a silencer well that's true That's true.
- 1:10:25Suppressor, I guess is the technical term. A suppressor. You can still hear it.
- 1:10:29It's not a silencer. It's a suppressor, which means that you can still hear
- 1:10:33it. It suppresses the shot.
- 1:10:35Yeah, silencers would be outlawed like a month. Right.
- 1:10:39Right. Remember, what movie was that with Steven Seagal?
- 1:10:44With the Jamaicans. And he made that gun that a flipping rifle with no sound.
- 1:10:51Marked for death. No, it is marked for death. I just, oh boy,
- 1:10:56talk about some bad movies, man. Horrible ass Jamaican accents.
- 1:11:00Man, that I don't want to get sidetracked and talk about how bad that movie is, man.
- 1:11:05I love it though. If it's on, I gotta watch it. Oh my goodness.
- 1:11:10Please don't give me sidetracked talking about how bad that movie is, man.
- 1:11:17Um so so so so so so yeah that's that's like the crux of the movie is you know,
- 1:11:26glenn og bobby johnson who goes in with he did he did he take the rap yeah he
- 1:11:32got 10 years no i know but but like i'm trying never mind never mind anyway
- 1:11:39and he went into jail like repping.
- 1:11:42He went to jail like, I'm about to run this place.
- 1:11:46And then he quickly realized, oh, these people don't give a damn about me in here. Yeah.
- 1:11:51On the street, they always propped up his name. You know, his boy,
- 1:11:57me and OG Bobby Johnson, we started this gang.
- 1:12:00But while he was out there eating, getting paid, doing good,
- 1:12:04you know, he just used him as cap.
- 1:12:06But he didn't care nothing about him. Well, man, look how Ray Ray dressed in
- 1:12:10a movie. Rayway wasn't no hood, dude. Rayway was cosplaying.
- 1:12:13Now, was he a punk? No. He was no punk. That's the damn show.
- 1:12:18He was cosplaying as a gangster. Rayway was dressed like Trey and the boys in the hood.
- 1:12:27He sure was.
- 1:12:31You know who he reminded me of? Arabian Prince from NWA back in the film.
- 1:12:35His whole character in that movie, he reminded me of Arabian Prince.
- 1:12:39Man, that fool dressed just like Arabian Prince. Man, yeah.
- 1:12:43Oh, excuse me. I'm sorry, man. Work today. Yeah, so I'm just,
- 1:12:48I don't know, man. I don't have much else to say about this movie.
- 1:12:52Like I said, I'm mixed feelings about it. And I was really just like,
- 1:12:57I'm tired of the hood movies.
- 1:12:59And I'm still tired of them to this day. To be honest, you want to make me not
- 1:13:03watch something, make a hood.
- 1:13:06I would say, though, out of all the ones we've talked about,
- 1:13:09like we laughed about Minutes to Society.
- 1:13:11We laughed about parts of Boys in the Hood and Boys in the Hood,
- 1:13:15obviously, was serious as hell, especially the ending.
- 1:13:18Didn't know that that had like Oscar nominations, bro.
- 1:13:22Didn't know that until like a couple of days ago. Well, remember,
- 1:13:26Denzel won for Training Day.
- 1:13:28Yeah. And Glory. Yeah. And he
- 1:13:30didn't win for none of his other great performances. No, no, you're right.
- 1:13:32You're right. right which again is why i say black exploitation or hood exploitation
- 1:13:37but yeah go go ahead bro no that was it that's it yeah so so you want you want
- 1:13:42you want to just rate this thing man yeah.
- 1:13:46I can't give it more i'm gonna shock you so go ahead i can't give you more than
- 1:13:51i can't give you more than a two high fives on the black hand side i said that
- 1:13:55the acting was bad and i said And maybe I was just done at this point,
- 1:14:01but I'm just, I'm just like, yeah, I'm off it.
- 1:14:05Three and a half. Okay. Here's why. Because it didn't end like a lot of those movies did. I feel that.
- 1:14:13And the fact that I thought that the story compared to, you know,
- 1:14:19like your Minister's Society, you know, I mean, J.D. Pinkett, what?
- 1:14:23Minister's Society was what, 25, 26? You about to move across the country with
- 1:14:27a wanted 18-year-old murder suspect. Right, right. What we doing?
- 1:14:32It didn't glorify the hood life like the other movies, but I still...
- 1:14:39It just showed the reality.
- 1:14:40Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And you know why this movie got three and a half too, man?
- 1:14:45Because it brought so much attention that Scarface made a song about it.
- 1:14:49Hey, I was just... I was sitting here thinking the whole time that Scarface
- 1:14:54track was on I listened to it on the way over here man that street life was so cold man.
- 1:15:02Here's something else though while I'm thinking about it,
- 1:15:06I was watching this and I, I, I, this, this thought was running through my mind.
- 1:15:12Not all, but some. So you got guys and I was just saying that this wasn't every
- 1:15:19young black man's lived experience. Right. So.
- 1:15:23You got guys out here who want to be thugs.
- 1:15:29Pretend thugs come from a good household, but you want to be a thug.
- 1:15:35You want to wild out every chance you get.
- 1:15:38And then you got guys who grew up in those situations.
- 1:15:42Who like, man, I'd do anything to switch places with you.
- 1:15:46I'd do anything to have my dad at the crib with me and I didn't have to grow
- 1:15:51up and worry about, am I walking this door, is my mama going to be smoking crack?
- 1:15:58You know what I'm saying? I ain't got to worry about my mama's boyfriend beating
- 1:16:02me up because they both high on crack.
- 1:16:05It's just so funny to me how we're just so programmed not to appreciate the
- 1:16:15good things in life. You know what I'm saying?
- 1:16:18You know, you ain't real, which is why I hate keeping it real. I hate that term so much.
- 1:16:24You ain't real because you didn't live the... Hey, well, I didn't have to,
- 1:16:28though. Right. I didn't have to. I saw it. Yeah.
- 1:16:31That don't mean I'm a punk because I didn't live that life, but I didn't have
- 1:16:36to. My parents worked. Both of my parents worked. I didn't have to.
- 1:16:39I didn't have to go to bed hungry. And guess what?
- 1:16:42I'm thankful I didn't have to go to bed hungry. You know what I'm saying?
- 1:16:47And I just trip on the guys who want to live that life like they thugged out.
- 1:16:55And it's just like, bro, you got it all wrong.
- 1:16:59Them dudes want to be you. You trying so hard to be them and they want to be
- 1:17:03you. And what's crazy is that the people who rapped about it.
- 1:17:09Rapping to tell you about what was going on and then after they
- 1:17:12left the studio they went ate a hundred dollar state facts but
- 1:17:15you sitting out here trying to live like the music facts
- 1:17:19when they're not living like that they're taking care
- 1:17:22of their families facts their good fathers all of
- 1:17:25that stuff right right it's so
- 1:17:27it is is is yeah man oh yeah
- 1:17:33yeah yeah so you gave it three and a hair yeah all
- 1:17:36right i'm gonna stick with my two and that
- 1:17:39concludes this week's movie review of
- 1:17:43south central hey one other thing bro you know they tried to make
- 1:17:45a spinoff series of this with laurence tate yes yeah
- 1:17:49yes yeah i it didn't last very
- 1:17:52long but it was so different from the
- 1:17:55movie it was it was kind of like why did you guys even call this south central
- 1:17:59like it has nothing to do with the movie anyway anyway we're gonna we're gonna
- 1:18:06leave that there for now that's a discussion for another day and we're gonna
- 1:18:10move into our closing monologue kg the floor is yours,
- 1:18:14appreciate it so let's forget the politics for a second strip away the red and
- 1:18:21the blue let's just look at the receipts let's look at the actual court records
- 1:18:26and the things this man has said, and I don't need to say who the hell I'm talking about,
- 1:18:31has said under oath and in public for 50 years, it is a master class in the lifelong grift.
- 1:18:38Started in the 70s. The Justice Department sued him and his father for violating
- 1:18:43Fair Housing Act. The Fair Housing Act.
- 1:18:46But he ain't racist. Pulling evidence that their company was actively turning
- 1:18:50away black and brown renters and marking their applications.
- 1:18:54You ready? You sitting down with a C for colored. But he ain't racist. In the 70s.
- 1:19:01By the 80s and 90s, he built his Atlantic City empire by stifling the little guy.
- 1:19:06Over 250 contractors on the Taj Mahal alone Plumbers, painters,
- 1:19:13cabinet makers Were financially ruined Because he simply refused to pay his
- 1:19:18bills When a Native American tribe opened A competing casino He sat in front
- 1:19:24of a congressional committee And testified,
- 1:19:27which I remember this like it was yesterday They don't look like Indians to me Mm.
- 1:19:34Tried to erase their heritage just to protect his own damn wallet.
- 1:19:37But he's not racist. He ain't racist.
- 1:19:40When it suited his tough guy brand, he dropped 85 grand on newspaper ads calling
- 1:19:47for the execution of the then known Central Park Five, five innocent teenagers.
- 1:19:53And even after DNA evidence completely exonerated them, he refused to apologize.
- 1:19:58Because he's not racist. And the court records. The court records, they are bulletproof.
- 1:20:05He paid $25 million to settle fraud lawsuits for Trump University.
- 1:20:11A New York judge shut down his own charity, the Trump Foundation,
- 1:20:15and ordered him to pay $2 million in restitution for illegally using,
- 1:20:20let me say that one more again,
- 1:20:23illegally using charitable funds meant for veterans to pay for his own political
- 1:20:29ambitions. But I love the truths.
- 1:20:32Now, this isn't a partisan spin. It's a 50-year paper trail of a man who will
- 1:20:39use, bankrupt, and discard anyone, minority renters, working contractors,
- 1:20:45innocent kids, even charities, just to make a buck.
- 1:20:49And that's not a political platform.
- 1:20:52And that's not, yeah, that's not a political platform.
- 1:20:54That is a scam. Facts.
- 1:20:59Said it all you said
- 1:21:03it all and you didn't even mention the fact
- 1:21:06that uh he still owes e gene carol her money
- 1:21:10convicted civilly convicted yep
- 1:21:13of rape oh i know
- 1:21:16i just did the closing monologue but i want to go back to something we talked
- 1:21:19about earlier real quick when they updated those websites and and took out a
- 1:21:25lot of that stuff do you know what else they did remember there was over $2
- 1:21:28billion in restitution to be paid back to the United States of America. All that's gone now.
- 1:21:35None of that restitution has to be paid back.
- 1:21:39If only we had a Supreme Court. But I wonder why he did that. $2 billion?
- 1:21:46What's close to $2 billion that we talked about a few minutes ago? Yeah.
- 1:21:501776. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:21:54The grift isn't complicated when you start
- 1:21:57to look at it when you when you when you pan out and
