- 0:11[SPEAKER_01]: I just wanna start off by saying that first of all, welcome to the WTJ podcast.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_01]: I know it's been a little while.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like we have it actually intro the podcast on the podcast in Lafayles like months.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_01]: It does feel like a month.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_00]: So if you forgot at all what this podcast is.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_01]: Or if this is your first time tuning in.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_00]: Randomly.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_01]: You just happen to scroll by WTJ.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_00]: Just stick around.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_00]: If you don't know what WTJ means, it's what's the juice podcast.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_00]: I am Alia Zaita.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_01]: And today we are...
- 0:44[SPEAKER_01]: The Alia's favorite place in the world.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_00]: And we are recording from a place that we have never recorded before.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_01]: This is the first time I actually... Yeah.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't think about that.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_00]: And this is, as Yoni said, truly my favorite place that exists on these... On these earths.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_01]: Well, on these earths.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_01]: Why don't you give us some background?
- 1:03[SPEAKER_00]: We are coming live to you from Romania, specifically Perovica, which not even people in Romania know where that is.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_01]: And I didn't know that at first.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's not a place that if you tell people this place, they would know it.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: If they're Romanian.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't met a lot of Romanian in New York, but any time I did, any time I did meet any Romanian, I would say,
- 1:27[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I've been to Romania a few times.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_01]: My wife is from Romania.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_01]: And then they'll be like, oh, yeah, for more air.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_01]: And then I would say provita.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I'm not from here.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_00]: Like I was born in from Bucharest.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, from Bucharest.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_01]: But I would say provita because this sounds is it's more fun to say that.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_01]: And then even they would be like, where?
- 1:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_01]: So then I would be like provita because I know this how you say it.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_01]: But the fact that they didn't know where that was, I was
- 1:54[SPEAKER_00]: your pronunciation is actually really good.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, but you ended up telling me that even because this is the country of country.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, this is like the countryside.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: Like you only know about it if you live here or you know somebody who lives here, but it's not a place that people go to for any reason.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_01]: Or even people know.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_01]: So she had no idea where that was.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: But it is the countryside about an hour and a half away from Bucharest and we came straight here from the airport last night.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: We got here at 1.30 a.m.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_01]: It was close to two.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_00]: Almost two a.m. we went to sleep at three a.m.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_00]: It's been kind of a wild week.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: We've been traveling a bit.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: We had some like work stuff to do.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_00]: We want to kind of catch you guys up on what we've been up to because it's a proper end of summer sort of.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know this so we do we do a trip like this to see our family in Europe at the end of the summer every year This feels like the end of August beginning of September.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: We always do this Yeah, and it does feel like the end of summer.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_01]: It feels like we're ready to close out, but we want to close out with bang
- 3:05[SPEAKER_00]: And we always close it out with this trip, you know, and it's very fun.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: If you hear anybody in the background, my grandma's around here, my grandpa's around here.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, grandpa.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: And sometimes they might be saying some things.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_00]: But let's start with our time in New York.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_00]: There isn't really much to say about it.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_00]: We were in New York for the most of August.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: And we were just kind of working, living.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_01]: Our last trip was as Greece.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_01]: We came back.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_01]: We were not talking about Greece again.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we're done with that.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: We put that to bed.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we were in New York.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I think when after the Greece trip, all we did mainly, mostly, was catching up on actual work and stuff that we made in Greece.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like all of the videos, all of the content, all of the photos, all of the stuff that we made in Greece.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_00]: We then ended up just working on all of that.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: and then also working on things that we have going on while we're on this trip and after.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_00]: So because when it comes to these jobs, they kind of, you would like a plan ahead quite a bit.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: So a lot of work, nothing super different or exciting in New York, but at the same time, our time in New York was really nice.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_00]: I felt like I got to spend time with friends.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_00]: I got
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_00]: And it was also nice because it cooled off a little bit so it wasn't as hot.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_00]: It had been like the peak of summer.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_00]: It was kind of behind us and it was a bit more tolerable to be outside.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: It's still super humid.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_00]: And then you went to a wedding.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I went to a wedding.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_01]: And it's kind of weird because that was I would say my first maybe my second real adult wedding.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not, I don't know why for some reason maybe just like my friends around around me are not getting married because I haven't been invited to many weddings.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, they just didn't have a wedding.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, so like a wedding, a proper wedding where they have like a venue and they like send people invitations and they have like brides and made them all that it's like we had a front like we had some friends I got married but it's like kind of like they like eloped and Italy and it was like a very just a two of them and like two more people like was very chill and then we had like a lot of your guy friends I feel like they got married but
- 5:30[SPEAKER_01]: No, a lot of them are not married either.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, wait, well, you talk about like, okay, so my European friends are American friends.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_01]: It's two different friend groups, but basically.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_00]: Your friends is Seattle.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, um, no big weddings.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_00]: No big weddings.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, so I don't know.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_01]: Anyways, this was the Montreal wedding was the second wedding you've been on into as an adult.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_00]: I just want to purpose by saying I didn't go to this wedding just because there was a lot of stuff going on with work.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_01]: You were invited.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_00]: I wasn't invited.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_00]: There was a lot of stuff going on with work and also it seemed to me that this was kind of like every union as well, which you'll tell us about.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_00]: So I just felt like you know I think sometimes it's okay.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_00]: I get it like when you're in a relationship and you're married and like one person gets invited to something obviously their spouse gets invited to that as well and yeah like it's nice for them to go but I do think in certain occasions like it's okay.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_00]: So the spouse to not go to an event or a wedding or something like that, even if they're invited because obviously it's out of courtesy But is it really like the scene set up for the spouse to be there or is it gonna be kind of like not random but with your experience?
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: be better if you're just on your own and you don't have to worry about making sure that I'm good make sure that I'm having time good time making sure that I have like people to talk to you or like I'm you know willing when this isn't like I don't know anybody this is not my crowd and you get what I'm saying
- 7:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so to answer that question, yes and no, but the mostly no, like my experience would be better if I went by myself.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I feel like what you were answering.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I'm sorry.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_01]: So the experience me being there by myself without you.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_01]: It was a better version because I'm just picturing if you came with me.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_01]: Um, okay.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_01]: So I just quick back story.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_01]: These are my friends that I went to high school within Atlanta.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_01]: I went to high school in Atlanta and one of my teammates got married and, um, we kept in touch over social media throughout the years, but this is like a long time ago, right?
- 7:37[SPEAKER_01]: So I was very happy to be invited and yeah, so I went.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_01]: It was in Montreal.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_01]: We live in New York now So it was a quickest flight I ever took my life.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_00]: Mm-hmm.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_01]: It literally felt like up and down and the plane was small too
- 7:50[SPEAKER_01]: Plain was small, I didn't love, I didn't love the plane.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't love small plane.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_01]: The small plane, I feel like a little wind and a wearout.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 7:58[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, quick fly checked into the hotel, everything was great.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_01]: It was amazing to see them.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_01]: So it was definitely a reunion.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_01]: So I got there a couple of days before the wedding, because one of the give ourselves like a little time to catch up.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_01]: What did you do have to hide here?
- 8:12[SPEAKER_00]: So basically, you hadn't seen these guys in like,
- 8:15[SPEAKER_01]: like 18 years or some shit, like, you know, last time I saw them was when you're all like what's 16, 17.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, something like crazy.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_01]: So that was my first time seeing them since.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_01]: So it was amazing and he also invited a few other teammates that I knew.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_01]: So not only did I get to see him again and his brother that I'm also cool with.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_01]: I got to see a couple other teammates and we were roommate.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_01]: So now only teammates like you go home, I go home, you'll live your life, I'll live my
- 8:44[SPEAKER_01]: If anybody's seen the movie Coach Carter, that was pretty much my experience in high school, at least for my sophomore year.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_01]: So anyways, it was great to see them.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_01]: So then I get to the wedding before I even got to the wedding.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't have anything to wear.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_01]: So a couple weeks before I was trying to order something online and I went a few places in New York.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_01]: I tried some things on didn't fit.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yoni was very adamant about wearing like a suit.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_01]: I want it, you know why?
- 9:10[SPEAKER_01]: Because I know now the cool way to go to weddings is like, you almost put a fit on versus like a...
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, a suit is a fit.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_01]: I know, but it's like, it's straightforward.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, a versus like.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_01]: It's like you get the linen oversized top with the baggie.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I didn't want to do the Pinterest 2026 wedding look.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I can do that.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_01]: I want to show up classic with, you know, I didn't have a tie.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_01]: I had a, what do you call it?
- 9:36[SPEAKER_01]: Like a bow tie.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_00]: Boy, I got a bow tie with him.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_00]: It was nice, you know.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_00]: The cutest thing was Yoni, like, he got eventually, like, all these things that he had purchased, trying to like get the, you know, see what he's gonna end up wearing.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_01]: I was so excited.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_01]: I felt like the first deal of school.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_00]: And he was just like, okay, I'm going to put on like, because you also got multiple sizes of things to just see which sizes better.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so he was, he was really like putting together the different combinations.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_00]: I like should I do this shirt?
- 10:08[SPEAKER_00]: I do that shirt?
- 10:09[SPEAKER_00]: Should I tuck it in?
- 10:10[SPEAKER_00]: Does this one look better?
- 10:11[SPEAKER_00]: Is the bigger one better?
- 10:13[SPEAKER_00]: Should you see the belts?
- 10:14[SPEAKER_00]: Like,
- 10:14[SPEAKER_01]: Let me tell you what, I went through all that to be that, because I haven't been to a lot of weddings as I said before, but then also this is my first time seeing these guys after a long time, everybody's career kind of, you know, we all do different things, and you're adults now.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_01]: And we're adults now, and I am the only one who, well, they all have like kids, it's all not all, but some have kids, some go, right?
- 10:39[SPEAKER_01]: And that part didn't have anything to do, what I'm saying,
- 10:42[SPEAKER_01]: But I, there was some, I don't want to say those pressure for me to show up as like my best self, but I wanted to like, I wanted to look good.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I get it.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_01]: Like, if you haven't seen your phrase in like, I don't know 18, 15, 20 years.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that would be the first time you see them.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_01]: You want to look your best.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_01]: I got my hair done.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_01]: I was, I felt good.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_01]: I felt confident.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, you don't say what you were saying because that was, that was pretty much it.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so I was in Montreal.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_01]: If you follow me on Instagram, I posted like a big wedding Instagram dump, which was my first time actually.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, even my dad was like, I've never seen you dressed like that.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I haven't even seen you.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_00]: Even though last wedding that we, the first wedding we went together we weren't dressed like that.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_01]: No, I wasn't dressed like that.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_01]: I still like the outfit, but I felt so confident this time.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_01]: It was something about just wearing the dress pants, the dress shirt, the bow tie, and then my vest, I felt like that.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like you're definitely, and I want to age where you want to have like a proper suit in your closet.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_00]: That's just like have one, but have one that fits you well, that you like.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_00]: They feel confident in.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_00]: So when the occasion comes, whether it's sweating, whether it's an event, whether it's something else you can like, you know you are good.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_01]: I know I'm good.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_01]: I have shoes too.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_01]: I think the shoes I might have to tweak a little bit, because I just wore some loafers that I already had.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't get new shoes.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I guess it's just like that outfit that this is what I wore while I wore the pants and the shirt on the way back to New York because I just felt comfortable in it.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like people just going to talk to me differently.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_00]: okay so skipping that right back to New York now the wedding was great it was amazing super fun to like reconnect yeah and we're definitely gonna stay in touch because we haven't and I mean in touch like calling and face time because we kind of want to separate it also it's different it's like who you were when you were at 16 17 versus like who you are as an adult is very different you almost kind of have to like meet each other again at this age and like see if you're friends again
- 12:45[SPEAKER_01]: But in a way, we were brothers right away.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_01]: Like we were up then, and the moment I saw them, it was almost like I haven't seen my actual brothers in so long.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_01]: So we had, because you also had other teammates, not everybody was invited.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I'm serious.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_01]: It's like people that you feel like, even though we haven't talked in many years, we did have a connection.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_01]: We have a connection with some that you just know.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_01]: We don't have to talk every year, but I know you're there and you know, I'm here.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_01]: So, is it important for you to come to each thing I'm invited to?
- 13:17[SPEAKER_01]: I think if this wasn't the case, I would have loved for you to be there.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, even in this case, I wanted to introduce you to my friends, right?
- 13:25[SPEAKER_01]: You know, because I did meet like one of my other friends wife, but they also, like, you know, have a kid, then.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_00]: But I also feel like every time you were hanging out with anyone, you were hanging out with the guys.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, kind of their wives were there.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_00]: So, it's like, what were they doing?
- 13:40[SPEAKER_01]: No, so definitely like before the wedding, I don't know what they were doing.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_00]: There's one thing, I don't know what they were doing.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know what I would have been doing.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, true.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_01]: And I would have hated for you to just... Because I don't want you to feel like you have to...
- 13:52[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, just do you and do your thing.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I appreciate it that, and I told my friends that you can make it, and they were like, you know, totally understand, but they also wanted to meet you.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_00]: I get it.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_00]: But I just think the timing of it all is like, you came back the day before and then we flew out like less than 12 hours.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_01]: But you would have been a bit of a waste of time.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_01]: Not in a way, like, you know what I mean?
- 14:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_00]: No, it was like, that's what I'm saying.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_00]: It was bad.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_01]: Because you had perfect timing to get ready to have the house for yourself, to just around the end to film.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_00]: So it was,
- 14:25[SPEAKER_00]: It was ended up being set up the proper way.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_00]: The one thing though is that when Yoni was living Montreal, the plan was that he was going to fly to Montreal at what was it like, 8 p.m. get back to New York at 9 or 10 or whatever it was and then get home and then basically kind of repack and pack more because we're we're traveling now for like a month.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and he was going to get home at like 11 repack get everything ready and then like go to bed at hopefully a decent time or get some, you know, few hours of sleep and then wake up the next day around seven and then we had a flight at 11 a.m.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_00]: But you go to the airport and
- 15:18[SPEAKER_00]: We were like, oh, this plan is going to work.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_00]: There's no reason that it won't work.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_00]: Like Montreal's right there.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, my god, you're first second.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_01]: You didn't know what I was talking to you.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_01]: No, okay.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_00]: Guys, I could see.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_00]: You were like, nothing.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, I was a while you were talking.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, what else happened?
- 15:30[SPEAKER_01]: No, okay.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_01]: So the plan got delayed by 30 minutes.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_01]: Cool.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_01]: No problem.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_01]: I was running late anyways.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_01]: So that's always a good feeling.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_01]: You're running late.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_01]: You get that email delayed.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, thank God.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_01]: Delayed the next should 30 minutes.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_01]: Before I even made it to the thing, to the airport, I'm like, you know what?
- 15:46[SPEAKER_01]: There's really no pressure now.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so I was good.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_01]: Me, I'm the type of person when my plane is delayed by an hour.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not mad at all.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_00]: Even in this case?
- 15:57[SPEAKER_01]: Even in this case, Loki, to be honest, like I wasn't.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_00]: At that point, you were like, okay.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because I made it and all that, right?
- 16:02[SPEAKER_01]: And we were not speeding, but like,
- 16:05[SPEAKER_01]: there was so much traffic.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_01]: The Montreal traffic to the airport is ridiculous.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_01]: And I almost got like we were five minutes away from the airport.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_01]: I almost got out the car to walk to the airport.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_01]: That's how bad traffic was.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_01]: Anyways, we get there and it keeps getting delayed by 30 minutes or 45 minutes like at a time.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_01]: And then the news comes out that apparently someone got hit by an airplane.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_01]: So one of the workers at the airport.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like somebody who's like on the ground was working.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_00]: Around the planes.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and they got hit.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_01]: And they got pretty, they got injured.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_01]: I hope they're, they're better.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_01]: I hope they, they're doing good.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_01]: But they got severely injured and they went straight to the hospital.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_00]: And then the, the, all of the flights basically got delayed.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_00]: The shutdown to whole airport, no landings, no takeoffs, which is crazy, especially because they didn't really restart anything, even though the guy had already gone to the airport.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_00]: It's a hospital.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_00]: It was.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_00]: And then, Yoni was texting me this whole time.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_00]: I was at home packing and I just like, could not believe.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_00]: that this is happening right now where it's like the next flight is so soon and it was so so my next flight was about like eight hours from when this is happening yeah like this exactly exactly and no not eight hours like 12 hours
- 17:26[SPEAKER_00]: If this was happening at like 8 a.m. My flight was at 11.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I think I got on a plane or I like 10, something.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, something like that.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_00]: You landed at midnight.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I got in my apartment at 1 a.m. Something like that.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_01]: And I couldn't sleep, so I went to sleep at 3 something.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_01]: And it ended up working now, but I don't know what was happening at the airport that if the guy who got injured was at the hospital pretty quickly after.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_01]: They shut down the airport for like, and like, for four hours, it will still shut down.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_01]: So now I'm thinking, like, okay, what happened?
- 18:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_00]: Like, my biggest...
- 18:02[SPEAKER_01]: The airport is, I mean, the airplane is not dent.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_01]: Like, is that correct English?
- 18:09[SPEAKER_00]: Dented.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_00]: My biggest fear was the fact that they kept delaying and delaying and delaying it.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, at this point, what if they just canceled it?
- 18:19[SPEAKER_00]: And I was at home, I kept like checking the airport, like, like, what's happening to the other flight?
- 18:25[SPEAKER_00]: I kept seeing a bunch of flights get canceled.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, there is no way because if you're a flight got canceled, there was like, I don't know what flight.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, there was no flight to next day.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_00]: There's no way.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, no, someone that came went upstairs to check on it.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_01]: He came downstairs He was like if this gets canceled, there's no flights to New York any time like earth first like first thing in the morning It's gonna be like some evening shit the next.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, so that means we would have missed the flight 100% 100% Someone was like when we were reading I told them what I where had to go the next day There's like a cable.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_01]: What if you just take the train from from from Montreal to New York?
- 19:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so across my mind, I was like, there's no, I'm about to leave this.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_01]: What's going to happen to my ticket?
- 19:09[SPEAKER_01]: But I was like, you know what, let me just google it.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_01]: Google it.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_00]: How long does it change?
- 19:12[SPEAKER_00]: 12 hours.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_00]: Can you made it to the airport?
- 19:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_00]: Take the train to straight to the other airport.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, that's crazy, but we made it.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yoni came, he slept for like two hours and night.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_01]: Let's get back up.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_00]: And we got to the airport and we flew through Atlanta to Belgium to hang out with your family for a little bit.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_00]: Originally, the plan was to be in Belgium for like,
- 19:39[SPEAKER_00]: five, four, five days, but because then the wedding came up, we had to kind of move everything down.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_00]: And it was really nice.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_00]: We just kind of spent time with your family.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_01]: Anytime we have to be in Paris, because we actually had to be in Paris for work, but anytime we're so close to Andrew, if I'm like, we have to stop to see my dad.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, so this is what we do each time.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_00]: Because I had a work trip.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_00]: planned from like quite a long time ago actually months ago that I signed up for
- 20:11[SPEAKER_00]: four like three days and it was going to be in Paris.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_00]: So we were trying to figure out how also my family was going to Romania and then I wanted to come to Romania.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_00]: It's like a whole thing.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_00]: So basically we flew.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you went to Montreal.
- 20:25[SPEAKER_00]: He came home from there.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_00]: We went to Brussels.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_00]: We went to Antwerp.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_00]: We hung out with the only family for a couple of days and then we took the train to Paris and then we were in Paris for three days and it was actually really nice
- 20:42[SPEAKER_00]: being in pairs this time, because it was so much more comfortable to walk around.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_00]: Temperature wise.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, temperature wise.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I really think Paris is meant to be kind of cloudy overcast.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_00]: Like it rained a little bit, which was nice.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no, it was, it was, it was, um, I really enjoyed the Paris chair, like I felt calm.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_00]: I felt like I knew sort of like where we were going, what to do, what was it a little bit more familiar?
- 21:05[SPEAKER_01]: But also, we really got everything done, we wanted to, because I was also shooting something for a brand that I'm working with in Paris.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_01]: And that went smoothly.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_01]: We did have to like,
- 21:14[SPEAKER_00]: we were doing that while I also was like going to all these different events that I was there for but I still like I felt I feel that we are at a place now where we really know how to travel efficiently and it feels really good and because this year we did get the travel quite a bit
- 21:33[SPEAKER_00]: for opportunities that came up with work travel.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_00]: We didn't take, I think Mexico was one of the only trips that was like not work for later.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_00]: All the other ones kind of had a work assignment attached to them.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_00]: You know, but I think this year, it really taught me how to be more efficient with like, I think I kind of underpacked for this trip a little bit.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_01]: Right, I was just gonna say, but even when it comes to when booking the flights, because for some reason we used to book shit, I like five a.m. You got to get it at two or, or spend a little bit more like chill with the first day of the trip.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_00]: what are we doing the first day we get anyway we just chill the first day we're not trying to do like we're not trying to get get started right away absolutely not get there we drop off our bags also no more like arriving if it is the only option or if like prices are hell expensive it depends but for the most part like we'll do our bet or we'll always choose if possible in the prices okay to get there at like a decent time that we can check into the place that we're
- 22:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_00]: So we don't have to lug around their luggage.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_00]: We don't have to drop it off at a locker.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_00]: We can go straight from the airport to the hotel or the Airbnb.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_00]: We can check in.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_00]: We can drop our stuff.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe we can shower.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_00]: We can relax for a little bit.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_01]: It's just great when we do that.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_01]: It's such a, because I first, I don't know.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_01]: We were, we were trying to maximize every sick single second.
- 23:07[SPEAKER_01]: I will location in, I mean, that, that should be me.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_00]: I am never going to
- 23:13[SPEAKER_00]: went on a trip to Paris with my friend Brenda and I was fine from New York.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_00]: She was flying from Seattle and I flew there two days early because I wanted to see kind of like I want to experience a little bit of solo traveling and this was when we just had moved to New York.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_00]: We moved to New York in like September and this trip was like at some time in October.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_00]: And I'll never forget that I for some reason was like, oh, I want to get like two full days in Paris by myself.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_00]: So I took a red eye flight from New York to Paris that arrived in Paris at 6 a.m.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_00]: But I can't check into my place until 3 p.m.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_01]: Damn, you didn't know that?
- 23:52[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_00]: I wasn't like, I didn't really like travel that much at the time.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_00]: We weren't traveling the way that we weren't that we are now.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_00]: And I just didn't really have to have as much a that much practice and I just didn't think about it.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_00]: I my thought process was I'm going to get this ticket so that I can just like have the most time in Paris as it can.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_00]: That's all that I thought.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_00]: Then realizing, wait, I can't even like check in until this time.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_00]: And I had my Uber dropped me off at the place at the Airbnb.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_00]: Oh.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_00]: I arrived on like a Sunday, by the time I get to the Airbnb, the Airbnb.
- 24:31[SPEAKER_00]: Airbnb, it's like 8 a.m. maybe 9 a.m. so like people are kind of out in a bow, maybe they're getting like coffee, they're having breakfast.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_00]: You know, they're wearing their little outfits.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of warm outside because it's still like the end of summer I'm wearing like a full sweatsuit like black sweatshirt, black sweatpants, sneakers, straight off the airport and shower luggage and I had packed a big luggage too.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_01]: Which one was it direct?
- 24:58[SPEAKER_00]: We didn't have the red one.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_00]: It was I don't know which luggage it was, but I overpacked so much I was just so excited.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_00]: I was like I want to have so many outfades I like we had just moved to New York.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_00]: We only had big bags.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_00]: We don't have any small carry-ons
- 25:12[SPEAKER_00]: Or maybe we did, but they were too small.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_00]: I just didn't know how to like optimize travel.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't know how to travel.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what I did.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_01]: So what did you do during like during the day from like nine to three?
- 25:23[SPEAKER_00]: I ended up, and it was just so funny because I remember I looked so stranded.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_00]: I looked so stranded.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_00]: I was hot in my sweatshirt.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_00]: It was sunny outside.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody was like breezy in their shorts.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_01]: So were you just like in the middle of the city with that shirt?
- 25:37[SPEAKER_00]: I was just like in the street.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, not good, right?
- 25:40[SPEAKER_00]: Because you look like, but I wasn't in, I wasn't in like the central part like where we were.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_00]: I was kind of a little bit higher up like in the ninth, where it's a pretty, like it's, it felt quite safe and it was just people around coffee shops, but it was kind of, it was quite, it wasn't like a heavy traffic.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, but someone who were to look at you, they would definitely think like this girl just got dropped off.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_00]: And she don't know what she
- 26:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_01]: And that's not the GPS in your hand.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_01]: You know that's like perfect combo.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_01]: Big ass two case GPS.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_00]: And it's just, it's actually insane to think about the fact that I packed such a big suitcase for like a five-day trip.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you were trying to get your fits off.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_00]: I know you had just like, didn't know.
- 26:23[SPEAKER_01]: Did you even do that?
- 26:25[SPEAKER_00]: I like, oh my god, think about it now.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_00]: It's like a groove so much from who I was then.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_00]: Hmm But I've been remember there was another thing where I packed so many things I wanted to have options I wanted to be able to like do fits and like all these things Those this is also when I had just moved to New York So it was also really excited to start making like short content short videos like on Instagram Because I had just signed to an agency like there was a lot of like new things happening and I was also just excited It's being New York to like being such a big city and now we're in Paris and
- 26:57[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, and I just feel like I was kind of going to a little bit of an identity crisis.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_00]: I had just gotten rid of my blonde hair.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, wait.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_00]: Like right before that trip.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_01]: I had black hair already though.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, but it was like recent.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_01]: was the blonde head that summer.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, right, right, right, I remember.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_00]: So, um, and I remember one thing was that like eventually when my friend Brenda came and we had to like get ready to get dressed for us to go to get dinner or to like go out for the day.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_00]: I would have, like, this hasn't happened to me at that level in so long, but I was having such a hard time choosing an outfit, and I would be like, doing a word this, doing a word that, and you know how I get it.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_01]: Especially with a lot of options like that.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and that's the thing, like, on a trip, you really want to be very strictly yourself on what you pack, and then just make your work.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's good to have options.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_01]: You don't need to, for five days, you don't need to bring more than like three pants, be honest.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no more than three pants, like a few t-shirts, like maybe a few sweaters just because it was cold.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_00]: Like if I were going on the same trip now, I would pack our usual bed.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_00]: This fall in.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I would even like leave space for doing a little bit of shopping.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_00]: But I also think I know myself better, I know my sense of style better.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_00]: I care a little bit less like obviously I want to dress nicely as because especially because like Paris is a place where people do dress really nice and actually should do it when you do an episode about that Yeah, because we did talk about it not like it deserves it deserves proper placing But yeah, so funny.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't like thought about the trip in a long time
- 28:52[SPEAKER_01]: So what did you do like on the second day for like were you just walk like oh, so what I'm doing.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_01]: Did you have fun?
- 28:57[SPEAKER_01]: Was it good?
- 28:58[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I ended up doing while I was waiting for my Airbnb is I went to the Airbnb and I input the code at the front door.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_00]: And then you know how in Paris a lot of the buildings like a lot of the apartment buildings.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_00]: You have this really big door that's like red or green and stuff and then you open it and you go in and it's kind of like a courtyard.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_00]: And then you go and then there's another staircase that takes you into the building with all of the apartments.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_00]: So I entered that little courtyard area and I just kind of like left my bags there and I was trying to fit Like I didn't leave them there.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_00]: I put them in like a corner and then I was kind of trying to figure out like what can I do?
- 29:36[SPEAKER_00]: I was like texting the Airbnb person.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_00]: I was like is there any way that this can be the room will be ready earlier?
- 29:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yada, yada, yada
- 29:44[SPEAKER_00]: And actually, now that I think about it, I do think I ended up leaving my bags there.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_01]: You're crazy.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_00]: And just going somewhere, and I just got some food or something.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_01]: You left your bags in a random hallway.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_00]: In the hallway of the building where my air may be was.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_01]: So what made you be like, this is a contrastous?
- 30:04[SPEAKER_00]: Because only people that have access to this building are the people that live here.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_01]: How would that see that something?
- 30:09[SPEAKER_01]: Would you do that today?
- 30:10[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_01]: You probably wouldn't have to do that.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_01]: I'm walking around.
- 30:16[SPEAKER_00]: I'm walking around.
- 30:16[SPEAKER_00]: Because now I don't plan my trips this way.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_01]: Well, if it was me that day, I'm... That's who kisses with me.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_00]: Because I...
- 30:28[SPEAKER_00]: didn't realize I didn't, it didn't cross my mind that the chicken was so much later than when I arrived until I was in the moment where I, like the car drove me off and I was a way I can't check in yet.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_00]: That's the moment I realized.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_00]: Up into that point, I was like, oh yeah, this is what I'm doing.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_00]: Like this is what we were doing.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_00]: We're arriving at 6 a.m. We're getting to the city by the time we get there, it was like nine,
- 30:55[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah, time to go, but continue, and then I was awake.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_00]: I can't go in yet.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_01]: That is crazy.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_00]: It just didn't even cross my mind.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that was four years ago, so.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_00]: That was indeed not three years ago.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_01]: Three years ago, yeah.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_00]: And then now we're in Romania.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_00]: We got here.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_00]: We went from Paris to Bucharest and then from Bucharest.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_00]: We got picked up and we got to the countryside.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_00]: And we got to wake up this morning and have a full day.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_01]: Can I just, you know what happened last night?
- 31:33[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god.
- 31:33[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_01]: Which is such a funny, and I mean, I didn't, I actually forgot the dog was here.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_00]: I also forgot the dog was here.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_01]: We get here pretty late, the grandparents were already asleep, and I think it was just like your mom and sister and you dad were waiting on us, right?
- 31:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_01]: We get here what time was it midnight?
- 31:51[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, no, it was like one 15 a.m. One a.m.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_01]: It's dark.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, we get here.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_00]: We get in the house and have a little bit of food.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_00]: Like we're downstairs.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_01]: All right, there's a downstairs and there's the upstairs.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_01]: The parents, the grandparents, sleep downstairs.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_01]: And we had to go kind of like a little bit around the house to go upstairs, which is where all the bedrooms are, right?
- 32:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_01]: We go up to stairs.
- 32:14[SPEAKER_00]: And the grandparents' room is under the first room you have to walk through.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_00]: And this house is quite squeaky, especially when you walk upstairs.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of wood around the fair, beautiful.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, everything's made out of wood.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_00]: So you don't want to really be careful of how you're walking upstairs if someone's sleeping downstairs.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you might, you might walk on the wrong, on the wrong piece of wood, any of my wicks, my dear.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_00]: And we also had our luggage with us.
- 32:43[SPEAKER_00]: And because we're traveling for a while, we have like two small suitcases and a big one.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_00]: And we, you know, my dad carried one of the two of the suitcases up and then you carried the big one.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_00]: We finally make it up.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_00]: I go.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_00]: My mom goes into the first room.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_00]: My sister goes into the first room.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_00]: My dad goes in.
- 33:04[SPEAKER_00]: I start walking in.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, actually, you start walking in.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_01]: The moment I put my shoe in the doorway, I hear a dog barking this is not real.
- 33:17[SPEAKER_00]: Literally like that.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and this is like in the middle of the night, and it's very quiet here.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_00]: So, and she was so loud, and the thing is this dog, it's our dog, and it's a random dog.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_00]: Like it's a dog that's in the family.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_01]: It's a family dog.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_00]: And she,
- 33:33[SPEAKER_00]: usually sleeps in that room, under one of the beds.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_00]: So nobody even thought about her because she usually, if she can sense who's in the room, like she can smell everybody, and if she knows you, she really smells.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_00]: She doesn't have a problem, of course.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_00]: Dog sense of smell is so good.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_01]: No, but I was like, yeah, it's crazy.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_01]: And, well, the moment I get in, she's like, who is this?
- 33:57[SPEAKER_01]: She comes out.
- 33:58[SPEAKER_01]: His dark, his tall, like, it, and she was just going at it.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_01]: So I stayed outside to try to calm down the dog with it.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_00]: I like hold Yoni back outside and I was like be like just go outside and then he was waiting you're waiting at the top of the stairs, but out of view so she couldn't see you and then my mom was like holding her and trying to calm her down when she kept going.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you could tell that, yeah, she was not about to get me.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_00]: She was following her dog instinct, you know, it's like your stranger.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_00]: She doesn't know you.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_00]: She doesn't ask sense.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_01]: Even though I saw her two years ago, and we were best friends.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_00]: She doesn't remember him.
- 34:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_00]: And basically what ended up happening is we didn't want to wake up the grandparents, and we didn't want to take a chance that if Yoni tried to step in the room, she would go crazy again.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_01]: She definitely would have, and also we definitely woke up the parents.
- 34:50[SPEAKER_00]: No, they said they didn't hear anything.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, really?
- 34:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_01]: Oh.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_00]: Just sleeping.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_00]: So they, so then, Yoni and that are sleeping downstairs in the living room.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, it always, I don't know.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_00]: It's just, did our family trips never ever go to plant.
- 35:09[SPEAKER_00]: Like there's always so many random little things because that's what happens when you bring a whole big family together of like cousins and everyone's in a adult now.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_00]: So everyone also has like a dog.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_00]: issue with their car and they have like thing with this and they have a doctor's appointment and they have this thing that they have to do.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_00]: Like there's always so many random things and it is a blessing to be able to get everybody together but it's also such an effort sometimes.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_01]: but the effort is worth it, it's worth it, and also sleepy downstairs wasn't as bad, only thing is I'm pretty tall, so my legs, I guess like my ankles were dangling off the edge, but it was okay, but the only thing was after
- 35:52[SPEAKER_01]: Traveling so much like from Montreal not being able to sleep really and then I don't know I never really sleep on here planes.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_01]: So from there you got a flight across the ocean and then Belgium for a few days train.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_01]: So it was just a lot that I was looking forward to just sleeping on the bed.
- 36:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I get it.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, we slept on bed in the hotel in Paris.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, true.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_00]: And that bed was nice.
- 36:13[SPEAKER_00]: But every day, we kind of had to wake up early because there was different events that we had to go to.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_00]: And then we would come home after being out all day.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_00]: And we would have to do some work and edit.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_00]: And then go to bed.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_00]: I like 2 a.m. to then wake up at 8.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm very excited to be here and chill for a little bit.
- 36:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, honestly.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_01]: And for some reason today, I woke up at 6.30.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_01]: I was very, you felt good.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it felt even though we went to sleep at like three.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we went to sleep at three Definitely just sleep better tonight, but you know why I woke up that early also like I mean I naturally kind of just like woke up.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't set it in a long because I didn't want to wake up everybody But in my head going to sleep, you know how you tell yourself okay tomorrow wake up at 7.30.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_00]: I never do that
- 36:52[SPEAKER_01]: You just set the alarm.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so today yesterday, this is kind of what I did right.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_01]: I said, okay, 6am, I would love to just sit out there on the grass or like just outside, you know, my coffee.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, really?
- 37:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, talk about that.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_01]: And it also does not do worse than sleeping in the living room.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_01]: And then people are waking up and they're in the living room.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_01]: You have a woke up when when people around you just are awake and they're like doing shit.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_01]: I already ate it It happened before and it's like when I wake up.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not trying to talk to nobody right away I especially if I just woke up a little quiet time.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, a little quiet time.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_01]: Let me look in the mirror.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_01]: See how I look this morning
- 37:31[SPEAKER_01]: Let me see how I looked this morning.
- 37:33[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, so I was like, there's nowhere that's happening.
- 37:35[SPEAKER_01]: And also, the grandma, she hasn't even seen me in two years.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_01]: You know, so she's going to wake up, see me, and then I'm just like, hey, nice to see you.
- 37:45[SPEAKER_01]: I just woke up, and it's just like, anyway, so I was up early.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_01]: I was waiting right here where we were recording.
- 37:51[SPEAKER_01]: And then after like a half an hour, she came out.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_01]: She was very excited.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_01]: I was very excited.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't say you woke up that early, because you texted me at 7.30.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, a text says you really had like some time just by yourself because I knew you weren't up at six thirty but seven thirty I was like one baby you can wake up.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but I think I woke up at eight.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but it was good I was here did I went there and it shows like it all shows like fake affair I was like that and then we went and made coffee together and then we sat there And I was using Google translator and then we were talking a little bit
- 38:22[SPEAKER_01]: It was it was it was cool.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_01]: I liked it.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_01]: I like being here a lot too.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's so nice and you're just like surrounded by nature and the mornings here are the best so magical.
- 38:33[SPEAKER_00]: Something about it's like the sun and like the the grass is like a little wet.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_01]: It's such a magical house.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_01]: I'm telling you like it was it's really beautiful.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_01]: So we're gonna be here for I'm gonna be here for about a week.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_01]: And then I'm going to fight back to Belgium and stay there for a little longer to be there with my dad because I don't want to be out of it And to see my dad long with in just two days.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we didn't we we were planning as I said to be in Belgium together for longer But just the way the things worked out.
- 38:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to hang out see my friends for about maybe like what we can have It's really be there with my people.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_01]: All you will be he with her family and yeah
- 39:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 39:08[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, then we have one more like surprise trip, which I want to tell.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, nah, I mean, nah, yeah.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I don't know.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_01]: I kind of had like an idea what I wanted to do with like a piece of content that we filmed remember.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 39:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 39:21[SPEAKER_01]: So I feel like that should be like the first.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_00]: See, I know.
- 39:24[SPEAKER_00]: It's bad.
- 39:24[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, people, you could this is something that a lot of our listeners wanted us.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_01]: A place wanted us to visit.
- 39:31[SPEAKER_01]: Is that correct?
- 39:31[SPEAKER_01]: A place that they wanted us to visit, and we are going there specifically.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_01]: Now, there's like the three main countries on that list, but if you really think... Hmm, three countries.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I'm trying to think what the other ones are.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's someone that's like not close to here.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's not close to you know.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm really really excited about that.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_01]: And then I have like a piece of content that we filmed a little while ago that I'm excited to just like...
- 39:54[SPEAKER_00]: put it out.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_01]: It might sound like the ooh, the reveal, but I think it wasn't that the idea that I had a long time ago.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_00]: It's just, it's like it's fun to, I don't know, just be a little bit like we're coming to you.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_01]: So that's it.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_01]: I think we're going to wrap it up.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to see you on Patreon.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_01]: What are we doing on Patreon?
- 40:11[SPEAKER_00]: I should have no already done.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, we'll figure it out.
- 40:15[SPEAKER_01]: It will see you there.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_00]: Well, because we had actually a whole idea for this episode, and then we just sort of did like a little catch-up.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_00]: We thought it would happen what's going on.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_00]: So, we have a whole topic that we were going to do about, it was kind of like a relationships-specific episode that I really wanted to get into, because I want to ask you these questions, because I'm very curious.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 40:37[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to go into this book club when I was in New York.
- 40:40[SPEAKER_01]: Is that a first book club you went to?
- 40:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, technically, and then I also kind of wanted to talk about the whole like impression we had of Paris This path like the past two trips how they've kind of formed idea of Paris and do like a little Paris versus New York Just like a little bit, but I don't know if we want to do that.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's not gonna be a little bit
- 40:59[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, a little bit.
- 41:01[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll see.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_00]: But we'll be on Patreon.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_00]: I'll be a good episode.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_00]: If you've never checked it out, you should.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_00]: It's linked in the description.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_00]: And there's just more more of this.
- 41:14[SPEAKER_00]: Lots more of this.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_00]: So.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so glad we got these mics.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_01]: We can record on the go.
- 41:18[SPEAKER_01]: There's been a lot of traveling.
- 41:19[SPEAKER_01]: So the episodes, if, you know, obviously, I'm not going even going to see if they are delayed because they are.
- 41:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 41:24[SPEAKER_00]: But I think it's like we restart.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_00]: We started season five.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_01]: want a lot of other works for summer.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_00]: And then this summer is like the craziest busiest summer we've had since we started the podcast with so much traveling that has that came up without it that traveling and then you have work while we're traveling and then when we're traveling we're trying to like also film things for ourselves and
- 41:49[SPEAKER_01]: to the podcast, just as why we don't have, you know, video anywhere.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_00]: There was no way that we could have continued with video.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_00]: We're trying our very, very best to do this.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_00]: And like, obviously take time when we're with family, to just take like an hour to record.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_01]: Which works out with these mics, so.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we're grateful that you still tune into that, so as when they drop.
- 42:11[SPEAKER_00]: And thank you for being patient with us, patients with us, patient with us during the last few months.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 42:19[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_00]: Let's finish off this summer, right?
- 42:24[SPEAKER_00]: When we're recording this, it's August 31st.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_00]: So it's the last September first.
- 42:29[SPEAKER_00]: Tomorrow, September 1st.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_01]: And to me, September, when I was younger, I always felt like a new year.
- 42:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's when school started.
- 42:36[SPEAKER_00]: They've already started in school.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm excited, though.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_00]: I love when time is moving.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited for fall time.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_01]: I'm ready to wrap up this summer.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 42:45[SPEAKER_01]: Honestly.
- 42:45[SPEAKER_00]: I feel that.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_00]: All right, you guys, love you very much.
- 42:49[SPEAKER_00]: And we will chat in the next one.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_01]: Bye!
