- 0:09Speaker 1: Welcome to the Favorite's presented by Draft Kings. The crown
- 0:12Speaker 1: is yours. We are an Action Network podcast. I'm Brandon
- 0:16Speaker 1: Kravit to your host. Back at it with the first
- 0:18Speaker 1: lady of the pod, Kendrim Middleton, and the return of
- 0:22Speaker 1: our go to fantasy analyst Sean Kerner, the projections guru
- 0:27Speaker 1: here for Action Network. He's been doing this for the
- 0:31Speaker 1: last twenty plus years, one of the most accurate fantasy
- 0:34Speaker 1: football rankers in the business. Now, Sean, we're back for
- 0:39Speaker 1: part two. We will get into our biggest moves of
- 0:43Speaker 1: the offseason, how it impacts those players and the players
- 0:45Speaker 1: around them in fantasy in just a moment. These two
- 0:49Speaker 1: other clowns on this show have and give me a
- 0:51Speaker 1: hard time because I have purchased the latest Fantasy football
- 0:56Speaker 1: magazine off the shelves at the local growth restore. Do
- 1:00Speaker 1: you still do this? I mean, it feels like, with
- 1:03Speaker 1: so much info online, you're pumping out stuff that you
- 1:06Speaker 1: don't need to do this anymore. There's just something nostalgic
- 1:09Speaker 1: for me about spending how much that you charge him
- 1:12Speaker 1: for this?
- 1:13Speaker 2: Uh yep, okay, yeah?
- 1:17Speaker 1: Ten ninety nine on the handheld mag Where do you
- 1:20Speaker 1: land on.
- 1:21Speaker 3: That about buying fancy magazine. The magazine, Yeah, I have
- 1:26Speaker 3: done that recently. Like if my wife and I were
- 1:28Speaker 3: going to the beach and I need some reading material,
- 1:32Speaker 3: I'll pick up a fancy magazine. Back when I was younger,
- 1:35Speaker 3: like I mentioned, I was obsessed with fancy football. I
- 1:39Speaker 3: was supposed to be doing summer reading. And my dad
- 1:42Speaker 3: would kind of barge in my room and catch me
- 1:45Speaker 3: reading a fancy football magazine instead of my book, and
- 1:49Speaker 3: he would tell me, you gotta read your book. Unfortunately,
- 1:52Speaker 3: you can't get a career reading fancy football magazine, so
- 1:56Speaker 3: get back to reading your book. So I guess I
- 1:58Speaker 3: proved him wrong on that one.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Plus, there's just something that's more more, more more sanitary,
- 2:06Speaker 1: perhaps about taking the magazine into the bathroom with you
- 2:09Speaker 1: than your phone than your phone.
- 2:11Speaker 2: You guys don't wipe your phones down every day?
- 2:14Speaker 1: Are you supposed to do it every day?
- 2:15Speaker 2: You know your phone is statistically less clean than your toilet.
- 2:19Speaker 1: That does make sense, Yeah, that makes every day.
- 2:24Speaker 3: I don't think i've ever I've ever cleaned my phone,
- 2:26Speaker 3: so that's that's a problem.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I think my phone is going I think my
- 2:30Speaker 1: phone is growing algae.
- 2:32Speaker 2: I know looks like the US Capital.
- 2:36Speaker 1: With that said, we've got fantasy breakdowns to get to
- 2:39Speaker 1: with Sean Kerner as he spreads more of his great
- 2:42Speaker 1: fantasy wisdom. But right now it's my turn as we
- 2:45Speaker 1: chat about the best sports app in the land, DraftKings.

- 3:15Speaker 1: the game. The crown is yours. Let's get to at
- 3:20Speaker 1: five through one the biggest moves in fantasy football that
- 3:26Speaker 1: happened this offseason, whether it's via the draft, free agency, trade,
- 3:29Speaker 1: or whatever, and the way that it impacts those individual
- 3:33Speaker 1: players and the players around them. We did six through
- 3:37Speaker 1: ten in the prior episode. Go and check that out.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Carnell Tate, DJ Moore, David Montgomery, TUA to the Falcons.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Cash the ticket. There we are now a newly minted
- 3:49Speaker 1: Minnesota Vikings podcast. You've got the Vikings cap on. One
- 3:54Speaker 1: of the reasons we have fallen in love is because
- 3:56Speaker 1: they once again have a quarterback that we can believe
- 4:00Speaker 1: then Kyler Murray, so a QB one. The guy that's
- 4:06Speaker 1: being drafted right now is quarterback twenty. That feels like
- 4:09Speaker 1: an absolute steal Sean. Should we be all in on
- 4:13Speaker 1: Murray with the Vikings?
- 4:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I definitely like getting him in that range. And
- 4:19Speaker 3: this this gives me similar to vibes when I was
- 4:22Speaker 3: high on Sam irrationally high and Sam Darnold heading into
- 4:26Speaker 3: his twenty twenty four season with the Vikings because I
- 4:29Speaker 3: thought he could kind of revive his career there under
- 4:33Speaker 3: Kevin O'Connell and he had, you know, one of the
- 4:34Speaker 3: best receivers in the game in Justin Jefferson. And last year,
- 4:38Speaker 3: same thing with like Daniel Jones once it was official
- 4:41Speaker 3: he was going to be the colt Sweek one starter.
- 4:43Speaker 3: I thought he could revive his career there. I'm getting
- 4:45Speaker 3: the same vibes here with Kyler Murray. You know it
- 4:47Speaker 3: wouldn't shock me if Kyler Murray burns me once again.
- 4:51Speaker 3: But yeah, I just don't see how he isn't the
- 4:54Speaker 3: starting quarterback from day one. And you know, in order
- 4:57Speaker 3: for him to lose a job, he'd have to get
- 4:58Speaker 3: hurt or really because you know, JJJ McCarthy was literally
- 5:03Speaker 3: one of the top memes of twenty twenty five for
- 5:05Speaker 3: being asked, so you know, they had to bring in somebody.
- 5:10Speaker 3: So I think Kyler Murray he's still young enough. He's
- 5:13Speaker 3: he's got that rushing upside where he could be a
- 5:15Speaker 3: top five, top ten fancy quarterback. And again, he has
- 5:20Speaker 3: Justin Jefferson as disposal. You know, he has Jordan Addison,
- 5:24Speaker 3: Jwan Jennings, TJ. Howkinson, he has plenty of weapons around him.
- 5:28Speaker 3: So if he gets the week one job, which I
- 5:31Speaker 3: think he should, he has all the upset in the world.
- 5:34Speaker 3: And yeah, I think just kind of the concern and
- 5:36Speaker 3: the uncertainty is why he's going that late. But that's
- 5:39Speaker 3: that's the perfect time to kind of take a fire
- 5:41Speaker 3: and a quarterback.
- 5:42Speaker 2: I want to talk about the opposite side of this,
- 5:45Speaker 2: now that the dust is kind of settled, it's probably
- 5:47Speaker 2: gonna be Jacobe Prissent out in Arizona. What does this
- 5:50Speaker 2: do for the value for Marvin Harrison Junior and Trey McBride.
- 5:55Speaker 3: Well, it's funny because I'm kind of, you know, gushing
- 5:58Speaker 3: about Kyler on Minnesota, but I think him being gone
- 6:01Speaker 3: helps Marvin Harrison Junior and Trey McBride because ironically, when
- 6:05Speaker 3: he went down and Burssett took over, both those players,
- 6:10Speaker 3: you know, finally score touchdowns, finally, you know, being more productive.
- 6:14Speaker 3: So that probably, by.
- 6:16Speaker 1: The way, Sean is not a ringing endorsement of Kyler Murray.
- 6:19Speaker 3: With the Vikings, It's not no for for Kyler Murray's
- 6:23Speaker 3: fancy value. We just want him running, so he he
- 6:26Speaker 3: might not help the value of Justin Jefferson or Jordan Edison,
- 6:30Speaker 3: but I think being in that that scheme, that system
- 6:33Speaker 3: will help him. So it's kind of a double edged sword,
- 6:36Speaker 3: but yeah, I think that kind of helps Marvin Harrison
- 6:39Speaker 3: and Trey McBride. But you know, if there's such a
- 6:42Speaker 3: dumpster fire where you know, at the end of the season,
- 6:45Speaker 3: you know they're they missed the playoffs. During take mode,
- 6:49Speaker 3: we could see you know, Carson Beck take over, and
- 6:51Speaker 3: I think that that would definitely hurt their fancy value
- 6:54Speaker 3: at the worst possible time, you know, during the fancy playoffs.
- 6:58Speaker 3: So that would be a concern for me. But on paper,
- 7:01Speaker 3: I think having present takeovers the tank commander is a
- 7:05Speaker 3: good thing for both those pass catchers.
- 7:07Speaker 1: We will get back to the Arizona Cardinals in a moment,
- 7:09Speaker 1: because they drafted a very intriguing running back who is
- 7:12Speaker 1: towards the top of our list. That is a podcast
- 7:15Speaker 1: tease Mike Evans to the forty nine ers at number four.
- 7:19Speaker 1: After twelve productive and loyal years in Tampa, we have
- 7:23Speaker 1: Evans finally donning a different jersey. Are you excited about
- 7:26Speaker 1: the prospects of Evans catching passes from party but maybe
- 7:30Speaker 1: more importantly in a mic or not a Mike Shanahan.
- 7:34Speaker 1: That's dad a Kyle Shanahan offense. He's a little long
- 7:38Speaker 1: in the tooth. He's gonna be thirty three by the
- 7:40Speaker 1: time we get to August.
- 7:41Speaker 3: Yeah, like this move, Like I think the days of
- 7:45Speaker 3: Mike Evans being a top ten wide receiver are long gone.
- 7:50Speaker 3: But this, I think this move helps the Niners offense
- 7:53Speaker 3: in general and Rock Purty. This is this kind of
- 7:56Speaker 3: reminds me this time last year I was talking about,
- 7:59Speaker 3: you know, Avante Adams going to the Rams potentially helping,
- 8:04Speaker 3: you know, fix Matthew Stafford. Matthew Stafford's red zone was
- 8:08Speaker 3: he had the season before, so I was announcing that
- 8:10Speaker 3: my first bet of the season was Stafford over twenty
- 8:13Speaker 3: two and a half passing touchdowns. I don't know if
- 8:17Speaker 3: this is going to be the same dynamic here, but
- 8:19Speaker 3: I think this is going to help rock Perty significantly
- 8:22Speaker 3: in the red zone because you know, they have George Kittle,
- 8:27Speaker 3: Ricky Piersall, Christian McCaffrey can kind of soak up a
- 8:31Speaker 3: lot of those targets between the twenties help move the ball.
- 8:34Speaker 3: But once they do get in the red zone, that's
- 8:36Speaker 3: where I think Mike Evans should help them and help
- 8:39Speaker 3: you know, brock Perty's upside. So I think this kind
- 8:42Speaker 3: of helps take some of the pressure off Evans where
- 8:44Speaker 3: he doesn't have to be the alpha, you know, all
- 8:46Speaker 3: the way down the field and he could just kind
- 8:48Speaker 3: of maximize his usage in the red zone and score
- 8:53Speaker 3: you know, touchdowns on their offense. So I think this
- 8:56Speaker 3: is a good move for him and his is you know,
- 8:58Speaker 3: the later stage of his career, and I think a sneaky,
- 9:01Speaker 3: sneaky boost to brock Perty's value.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Okay, I my ears perked up when he started comparing
- 9:09Speaker 1: the forty nine ers to the Rams what Devontae Adams
- 9:11Speaker 1: did for Stafford, who just won the NFL MVP Award.
- 9:15Speaker 1: This is a guy I haven't really given much thought to.
- 9:18Speaker 1: He's a quarterback and that's brock Party at twenty to
- 9:22Speaker 1: one over on DraftKings to win MVP. I guess the
- 9:27Speaker 1: concern would be that Christian McCaffrey just gets so much
- 9:29Speaker 1: of the credit for the being the engine of the offense.
- 9:31Speaker 1: But is that a way that you would look at
- 9:35Speaker 1: backing Party as well, beyond the fantasy lens.
- 9:39Speaker 3: Yeah, because, like I said, it's not that crazy to
- 9:41Speaker 3: think that having a guy like that could kind of
- 9:44Speaker 3: unlock his past touchdown ceiling some over what we saw
- 9:48Speaker 3: with Matthew Stafford last year. I mean, McCaffrey could get
- 9:52Speaker 3: hurt and then you know, the entire offense falls on
- 9:56Speaker 3: Party shoulders. The Niners can easily have you know, fourteen
- 10:00Speaker 3: plus win season or something like that. So I think, yeah,
- 10:03Speaker 3: Party having you know, twenty to one you said MVP ticket, Yeah,
- 10:08Speaker 3: it makes a ton of sense. I think yeah, like
- 10:11Speaker 3: we kind of need to see what's up with George Kittle.
- 10:14Speaker 3: We're not positive he'll be ready for week one, but
- 10:16Speaker 3: if he's looking, you know, closer to one hundred percent
- 10:19Speaker 3: for week one, that would, you know, make it even better.
- 10:23Speaker 2: I have kind of a one and a half slash
- 10:26Speaker 2: two parter here.
- 10:27Speaker 1: One.
- 10:27Speaker 2: I'm taking it you think that Ricky Piersall is going
- 10:30Speaker 2: to be the number one receiver in this system? And
- 10:32Speaker 2: then my second question would be, I feel like the
- 10:35Speaker 2: last couple of seasons, and it's gonna sound silly to
- 10:38Speaker 2: say this, but like I don't really know if it
- 10:40Speaker 2: is the electromagnetic fields that they're dealing with that's causing
- 10:43Speaker 2: all of his injuries for them, but it almost feels
- 10:47Speaker 2: like every time you're drafting a player from the forty
- 10:50Speaker 2: nine ers in fantasy, you're taking a huge risk that
- 10:53Speaker 2: somebody is going to get hurt or everyone on this
- 10:55Speaker 2: team is going to get hurt, and it's just going
- 10:57Speaker 2: to be a rotating carousel of depth them. Do you
- 11:01Speaker 2: think that there really is something to this, like injury
- 11:04Speaker 2: bug or whatever you want to relate it to for them,
- 11:06Speaker 2: because every time I take someone on this team, they
- 11:10Speaker 2: get hurt or it bites me in the ass and
- 11:11Speaker 2: it makes me want to fall away from taking one
- 11:14Speaker 2: of these big names as much of if you get
- 11:16Speaker 2: it right, is it a Christian McCaffrey, or where he's
- 11:19Speaker 2: gonna stay healthy or not, it can really push you
- 11:21Speaker 2: in your projections of your league.
- 11:24Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm actually a big fan of the substation theory.
- 11:28Speaker 3: There's guts something to that. But I also think that
- 11:31Speaker 3: you know, Shanahan really rides the players hard in practice.
- 11:35Speaker 3: He loves using like game speed practices much more than
- 11:40Speaker 3: your average coach. So I think that kind of sets
- 11:43Speaker 3: these players up for, you know, more injuries. So it
- 11:47Speaker 3: could be a little bit of that, a little bit
- 11:49Speaker 3: of the substation. So it's not great that Mike Evans
- 11:51Speaker 3: and his hamstrings are going to be practicing may Glass substation.
- 11:57Speaker 3: Maybe yeah, so maybe it'll help them. Hopefully it helps them,
- 12:01Speaker 3: but yeah, there's definitely something there with just how they
- 12:05Speaker 3: practice or something which you know is a bit of
- 12:08Speaker 3: a concern. And when it comes to their number one receiver,
- 12:12Speaker 3: I don't I don't really think it's gonna be Piercel.
- 12:14Speaker 3: I think it's gonna be just kind of a spread
- 12:16Speaker 3: around similar to the Bills where I think, you know,
- 12:19Speaker 3: George Kittle's probably their top receiver, and then you know
- 12:24Speaker 3: Pier Soluble chip in. They brought in Christian Kirk, you
- 12:28Speaker 3: help out a little bit, so, you know, I just
- 12:30Speaker 3: think taking some of that pressure off Evans will help.
- 12:32Speaker 3: And then they have christ McCaffrey, who's gonna get five
- 12:36Speaker 3: catches the game kind of back, so I think it
- 12:39Speaker 3: just kind of helps spread things around. But yeah, hopefully
- 12:42Speaker 3: they can stay healthy. They they've done it once, right,
- 12:46Speaker 3: I had like to be the last undefeated team a
- 12:51Speaker 3: couple of years ago, and that's the only season they've
- 12:53Speaker 3: managed to stay healthy. But it's it's always a concern
- 12:56Speaker 3: with them. Whether it's a substation or you know, how
- 12:59Speaker 3: hard they practice, who the hell knows, but something's there.
- 13:02Speaker 1: And Christian McCaffrey just recently passed that four hundred touch
- 13:06Speaker 1: threshold too, I believe.
- 13:08Speaker 2: So that was also having another baby girl dad watch
- 13:11Speaker 2: in full effect, and he gets.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Hurt every even numbered year. I think if we're getting numerology,
- 13:17Speaker 1: so I'm a little concerned about CMC and fantasy. Let's
- 13:20Speaker 1: move to number three. Kenneth Walker goes to the Kansas
- 13:23Speaker 1: City Chiefs. We've been waiting for years to see a
- 13:26Speaker 1: running back of Walker's caliber land in KC. My last
- 13:30Speaker 1: memory of a good running back with the Chiefs was
- 13:33Speaker 1: early Kareem Hunt. Andy Reid used to be known for
- 13:36Speaker 1: creating fantasy dynamos at the position. Brian Westbrook, Jamal Charles.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Should we be expecting that sort of production from Kenneth Walker.
- 13:47Speaker 3: Yeah, Like, if they really do intend on using him
- 13:50Speaker 3: as a pass catcher as much as they say they are,
- 13:54Speaker 3: he definitely has that kind of upside because that's the
- 13:58Speaker 3: one thing he didn't really do in Seattle. I mean,
- 14:00Speaker 3: he he split a ton of work with Sharbonay, lost
- 14:04Speaker 3: a lot of goal line scores to Sharbonay the past
- 14:06Speaker 3: couple of seasons, but they they also didn't use him
- 14:09Speaker 3: as a pass catcher. So if they do use him
- 14:11Speaker 3: as a true three down back, he has a ton
- 14:16Speaker 3: of upside. It just kind of remains to be seen.
- 14:19Speaker 3: And I think you forgot to mention Larry Johnson, one
- 14:23Speaker 3: of the best Chiefs running backs back in the day.
- 14:26Speaker 3: So you know, I just think that you know, Kenth
- 14:29Speaker 3: Walker now has double digit touch upside, you know, fifty
- 14:33Speaker 3: plus catch upside, but the markets onto that he's being drafted,
- 14:39Speaker 3: you know, inside the top twelve currently, so you know
- 14:43Speaker 3: you're not going to fool anybody with that, but I
- 14:45Speaker 3: think he has a ton of potential on the Chiefs.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Obviously Priest Holmes as well. We're gonna mention some some
- 14:51Speaker 1: Chiefs Goods.
- 14:53Speaker 2: Where does this move Zach Charboney for you?
- 14:57Speaker 3: So, Charbonay has been one of my favorite backup over
- 15:00Speaker 3: the years. I always loved taking him because you know,
- 15:03Speaker 3: whenever Walker was out, he'd be a top five back.
- 15:06Speaker 3: But unfortunately sharbon Ay, you know, he tore his a
- 15:10Speaker 3: c L super late. I believe it was in the playoffs, right,
- 15:14Speaker 3: So I don't right, was it in the playoffs?
- 15:17Speaker 1: I'm not sure it was.
- 15:19Speaker 3: Yeah, it had to be like wild card round, right,
- 15:22Speaker 3: I think that's when, Yeah, it was had to be
- 15:26Speaker 3: the first round, right, because that's that's when Kenneth Walker
- 15:30Speaker 3: really just started to rupt. So I don't think he's
- 15:33Speaker 3: gonna be ready week one, and then they just spent
- 15:35Speaker 3: the first round pick on Jendarium Price. So even when
- 15:40Speaker 3: he is back and healthy, I think Price is going
- 15:42Speaker 3: to be a real threat and if anything could be
- 15:45Speaker 3: you know, the next Kenneth Walker, where you know, at
- 15:47Speaker 3: best Charbonne is going to be in a you know,
- 15:49Speaker 3: more of a fifty to fifty split with him, So
- 15:51Speaker 3: I think that that definitely caps a lot of the
- 15:54Speaker 3: upside that Charbonay was going to have post Kenneth Walker there.
- 15:58Speaker 2: Do you think that that's a little bit of a
- 15:59Speaker 2: sleeper there be a running back tandem to take.
- 16:03Speaker 3: Yeah, definitely early in the season. I think you know,
- 16:06Speaker 3: Price is going to be the lead back as long
- 16:09Speaker 3: as sharbon is out, because again, I don't think Sharbony
- 16:12Speaker 3: is gonna be ready week one. Although there is a
- 16:15Speaker 3: little bit of a wrinkle here where they really started
- 16:17Speaker 3: to use a J barner a lot more in the
- 16:19Speaker 3: tush push, especially near the goal line at the end
- 16:23Speaker 3: of last season. So where sharbon Ay did see a
- 16:27Speaker 3: lot of goal line work, you know, his first few seasons,
- 16:30Speaker 3: a J barner could be you know, scoring two to
- 16:34Speaker 3: three of those going forward, So something to look out
- 16:37Speaker 3: for that could kind of hurt Sharbonney's ceiling. But I'm
- 16:40Speaker 3: a big fan of taking Price, you know, in that
- 16:43Speaker 3: like early RB three range because he should have that
- 16:47Speaker 3: value early in the season and then if he's playing well,
- 16:49Speaker 3: I mean, they spent a first round pick on him,
- 16:51Speaker 3: so it's not like a lock. They're going to just
- 16:53Speaker 3: turn it over to Scharbonay when he's back. They could
- 16:56Speaker 3: envision Price being their lead back going forward.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Yeah, first, a first round running back is is like
- 17:03Speaker 1: a lock for usage on a team. I was just
- 17:06Speaker 1: had a flashback and talking about random Seahawks players that
- 17:10Speaker 1: are on this team. To Kendra's Jake Bobo bet during
- 17:14Speaker 1: the Super Bowl. I don't think that one cashed half
- 17:20Speaker 1: a catch.
- 17:20Speaker 2: I think over half a catch against his hometown team
- 17:23Speaker 2: in the Super Bowl.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Bobo was a no, no, he had.
- 17:29Speaker 3: Got a target, right.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Yeah, let's go to number two. Jeremiah Love to the
- 17:34Speaker 1: Arizona Cardinals, drafted at three in the NFL Draft. Insanely
- 17:38Speaker 1: talented player on a terrible team. They do have some
- 17:42Speaker 1: offensive weapons, though, if you believe in Marvin Harrison Junior trade,
- 17:45Speaker 1: McBride is legitimately one of the best tight ends in football.
- 17:50Speaker 1: But I just worry that we're gonna end up in
- 17:53Speaker 1: the same territory that a lot of folks landed with
- 17:55Speaker 1: Ashton genty a year ago, where he was drafted high
- 17:59Speaker 1: in the real draft on a bad team. Defense is
- 18:02Speaker 1: key in on him and he just has those those
- 18:05Speaker 1: rookie bumps. Is this a guy that you'd be comfortable
- 18:09Speaker 1: taking the first round of a redraft league?
- 18:12Speaker 3: Well, the good news is you don't have to take
- 18:15Speaker 3: him in the first round.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Wow. Yeah, And how much of that is just a
- 18:23Speaker 1: lesson learned because last year Genty was a first round
- 18:25Speaker 1: pick and he bopped.
- 18:29Speaker 3: Yeah. Well, the funny thing is he did disappoint he
- 18:32Speaker 3: didn't live up to expectations, but he still finishes the
- 18:34Speaker 3: RB thirteen, so he probably didn't like, lose your league.
- 18:38Speaker 3: If you lost your league, it was on you, not
- 18:41Speaker 3: Ash and Genty He's still finished RB thirteen. Because anytime
- 18:45Speaker 3: a team spends a first round pick on running back,
- 18:48Speaker 3: he's going to get a shit ton of work. And
- 18:51Speaker 3: that's going to be the case with Jeremiah Love. I
- 18:53Speaker 3: think the important thing for Love is, you know, the
- 18:57Speaker 3: Cardinals are going to be bad, They're going to be
- 18:58Speaker 3: in a ton of trailing games. Scripts it's going to
- 19:00Speaker 3: be key for him to be, you know, the lead
- 19:02Speaker 3: pass catching back. And I think that's going to be
- 19:05Speaker 3: the case because they have two very good running backs
- 19:08Speaker 3: and James Connor and Tyler Aljier, but both of them
- 19:10Speaker 3: are more like early down grinder backs than really you know,
- 19:14Speaker 3: pass catching specialists. So I think Love should see a
- 19:17Speaker 3: ton of that pass catching work. And that's ultimately what
- 19:19Speaker 3: kind of helped Ashton Genty finish RB thirteen is he was,
- 19:23Speaker 3: you know, catching three to four passes a game at
- 19:26Speaker 3: one point, so I think, you know, Love, I am
- 19:29Speaker 3: not scared to take him at the RB ten range.
- 19:32Speaker 3: Sometimes he falls to RB twelve. I understand a lot
- 19:36Speaker 3: of people are kind of concerned with gent, but that's
- 19:38Speaker 3: kind of allowing me to take him in the mid
- 19:40Speaker 3: late second round. But I think the upsidees there. He
- 19:43Speaker 3: has a high floor because again, he's guaranteed a massive
- 19:47Speaker 3: workload because you know, they spent a first round pick
- 19:50Speaker 3: on him. But I think he's what the seventh highest
- 19:52Speaker 3: paid running back in football already, so they kind of
- 19:55Speaker 3: have to use him.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Right, So his projections are sitting right there with Derek
- 19:59Speaker 2: hen If I'm sitting there on draft day needing a
- 20:02Speaker 2: running back, am I going with the old man or
- 20:05Speaker 2: the young buck in this scenario?
- 20:08Speaker 3: Well, I have long stood on the fact that I'm
- 20:14Speaker 3: never gonna fade Derrick Henry until he gives me a
- 20:16Speaker 3: reason to. So I'm still rolling with my guy, Dereck
- 20:20Speaker 3: Henry here. At some point the wheels are gonna come off, right,
- 20:25Speaker 3: But until that happens, I'm gonna have to go Derek
- 20:30Speaker 3: Henry here, unless unless you're in like a full PPR format,
- 20:34Speaker 3: then obviously you know Henry gets a hit, huge hit,
- 20:37Speaker 3: but standard happy PPR. I'm still super high on Derek Henry.
- 20:42Speaker 3: I think he's going like RB eight or nine right now,
- 20:45Speaker 3: which I think is crazy. But yeah, that's that's an
- 20:48Speaker 3: unfair question because I'm always too high on Henry.
- 20:51Speaker 1: But I'm on the spectrum. I think Derrick Henry. I'm
- 20:56Speaker 1: in about three leagues a year. I try not to
- 20:58Speaker 1: overmax myself, but Derrick Henry I have never had in fantasy.
- 21:04Speaker 1: I don't think he's been on one team of mine
- 21:07Speaker 1: his entire career. I've always either faded his age, his
- 21:11Speaker 1: lack of pass catching, injury, all the reasons. And then
- 21:15Speaker 1: all he does is goes out and he's double digit touchdowns,
- 21:18Speaker 1: two thousand yards, and I'm the guy that doesn't have
- 21:21Speaker 1: Derek Henry on my team. Number one AJ Brown to
- 21:24Speaker 1: the New England Patriots. I am seeing Drake May now
- 21:28Speaker 1: considered to be a top three Fantasy quarterback. To be honest,
- 21:32Speaker 1: I did not look at these rankings until after the
- 21:34Speaker 1: trade was done, So I don't know if it's the
- 21:37Speaker 1: Brown news that moved him up inside of the top
- 21:41Speaker 1: five or if he was already there because of the
- 21:44Speaker 1: MVP runner up season that he just had. He's got mobility,
- 21:48Speaker 1: is it AJ Brown? And do you agree with what
- 21:51Speaker 1: Brown does for the quarterback in terms of fantasy?
- 21:56Speaker 3: So right now he was QB six and now he's
- 21:59Speaker 3: QB five in Best Ball formats, and I still think
- 22:02Speaker 3: that's too low. I do think he is worth being
- 22:05Speaker 3: like the third quarterback off the board because if you
- 22:08Speaker 3: look at last season, he was QB two and that
- 22:11Speaker 3: was year two for him, and you know he had
- 22:15Speaker 3: Stefon Diggs, who was, you know, his best receiver yet.
- 22:20Speaker 3: But I still think AJ Brown is going to be
- 22:22Speaker 3: an upgrade over last season's version of Diggs because he's
- 22:26Speaker 3: going to help, you know, open up the passing attack
- 22:28Speaker 3: in general. He might open up you know, Drake made
- 22:31Speaker 3: a scramble more. You know, if they're putting more attention
- 22:34Speaker 3: on Aj you know, he might find more lanes when
- 22:37Speaker 3: he's scrambling. But I also think, you know, having Romeo
- 22:40Speaker 3: Dobbs there will help open things up in the red
- 22:44Speaker 3: zone and you know, take some pressure off aj Brown.
- 22:47Speaker 3: So I think the sky's the limit for Drake May.
- 22:49Speaker 3: If you remember it was year three where Josh Allen
- 22:53Speaker 3: really broke out when they finally they brought in Stefon Diggs,
- 22:57Speaker 3: we could see, you know, a similar breakout for Drake
- 22:59Speaker 3: May here, who's already coming off a QB two finish
- 23:03Speaker 3: and he made the Super Bowl. So the sky's limit
- 23:06Speaker 3: when it comes to Drake May.
- 23:07Speaker 2: Do you put any stock into the distractions that the
- 23:11Speaker 2: Patriots have surrounding them when potentially drafting Drake May.
- 23:16Speaker 3: Oh, like the Vraybel stuff?
- 23:18Speaker 2: Yeah, because like I mean, right now, everything there's it's
- 23:21Speaker 2: been a couple of weeks since something came out, But
- 23:23Speaker 2: God forbid more of this crab comes out, or his
- 23:25Speaker 2: wife wants him home more, or McDaniels has to take
- 23:28Speaker 2: over because he's on an lla. Are these things that
- 23:31Speaker 2: you think about?
- 23:32Speaker 3: Yeah, Like he had to miss what the third day
- 23:35Speaker 3: three of the draft, which is pretty crazy to go
- 23:37Speaker 3: to counseling. So those things add up. I'm hoping Drake
- 23:41Speaker 3: May can overcome it and this doesn't become a distraction
- 23:45Speaker 3: for him. I wouldn't not draft Drake May because of it,
- 23:49Speaker 3: but it's definitely just a concern in general when it
- 23:51Speaker 3: comes to the Patriots, and maybe you know, this trade
- 23:55Speaker 3: for AJ Brown will kind of take some of the
- 23:57Speaker 3: heat off, but like, yeah, it has not been a
- 24:00Speaker 3: good offseason for the Patriots at no fault of Drake May.
- 24:03Speaker 3: So I'm just hoping it doesn't become a distraction. But
- 24:07Speaker 3: I'll still be locking him in. If he's the fifth
- 24:10Speaker 3: quarterback just sitting there in the draft, I'll still take
- 24:12Speaker 3: him despite you know, the Shenanigans.
- 24:16Speaker 1: As weird as it sounds, I think it would actually
- 24:18Speaker 1: enhance Drake May's fantasy value. If Rabel wasn't there, you
- 24:21Speaker 1: would have an offensive coordinator become the head coach. Rabel's true.
- 24:25Speaker 1: The loss of Rabel would probably impact their defense more
- 24:28Speaker 1: than their offense. And then if you have higher scoring games,
- 24:31Speaker 1: you'd have to kind of go down the you'd have
- 24:32Speaker 1: to travel the path.
- 24:33Speaker 2: But Kravitz is out, I like it.
- 24:37Speaker 1: A J Brown or DeVante Smith. Who would you draft
- 24:39Speaker 1: first in fantasy? That's the former Eagle and the current Eagle.
- 24:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I would lean AJ Brown just because of Drake May,
- 24:48Speaker 3: but DeVonta Smith is now my top ten as well.
- 24:50Speaker 3: I think he's, you know, his ceiling is going to
- 24:52Speaker 3: be unlocked with AJ Brown not there and hurts feeling
- 24:56Speaker 3: the need to, you know, kind of force the ball
- 24:57Speaker 3: to a J. Brown.
- 24:58Speaker 2: He was always enough.
- 24:59Speaker 3: I think, yeah, so both both are my top ten.
- 25:03Speaker 3: I would lean AJ, but I would not be shocked
- 25:05Speaker 3: if Smith has a career here Sean Kerner.
- 25:08Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, you can find all of his work
- 25:10Speaker 1: over at actionnetwork dot com. Phenomenal of what you do.
- 25:13Speaker 1: Glad we got a chance to chop it up and
- 25:15Speaker 1: hopefully our Minnesota Vikings can do something special this year.
- 25:19Speaker 1: It is time for our Draft Kings plant the flag
- 25:22Speaker 1: segment of the day set up.
- 25:25Speaker 3: I'm trying to plant my flag here. Okay, you're really
- 25:28Speaker 3: planning your flag in that thing.
- 25:30Speaker 1: Today we're going in the opposite direction. We are going
- 25:33Speaker 1: to nominate a fantasy bust, the man who will ruin
- 25:37Speaker 1: your fantasy leagues. And I'm gonna take this one before
- 25:41Speaker 1: you snatch it from me, Kendra. I think it's Christian McCaffrey,
- 25:45Speaker 1: and I've been a big CMC guy throughout the course
- 25:47Speaker 1: of his career, but there's just too much working against him.
- 25:51Speaker 1: He turned the dreaded thirty it's a classic drop off
- 25:54Speaker 1: point for running backs over four hundred touches last season.
- 25:58Speaker 1: He's been injury prone throughout the court of his career.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Last year he played all seventeen games and a pair
- 26:03Speaker 1: of playoff games. It's just unreasonable to be super optimistic
- 26:09Speaker 1: on CMC and he's going way too early for my blood.
- 26:12Speaker 1: So this will be the first year of his career
- 26:15Speaker 1: that I've sold on Christian McCaffrey. But here we are.
- 26:18Speaker 2: What if it comes out that him and Olivia are
- 26:20Speaker 2: having another.
- 26:20Speaker 1: Girl, well, and we need to reassess things. You know,
- 26:24Speaker 1: we have become a clairvoyant podcast. So I uh, right now,
- 26:29Speaker 1: I would take him and at the end of round one,
- 26:32Speaker 1: not at the beginning of round one.
- 26:33Speaker 2: Okay, I'm gonna go DJ Moore just because I'm a
- 26:37Speaker 2: Bills hater, always have been, always will be. Sorry, not sorry,
- 26:41Speaker 2: just too many mouths to feed in that offense, and
- 26:44Speaker 2: I would like to see Khalil Shakir have another resurgence,
- 26:47Speaker 2: so I'm cheering for him. I'm also cheering for Keyon Coleman,
- 26:50Speaker 2: which means DJ Moore, Sorry, I also think that the
- 26:53Speaker 2: two headed monster at tight end there between Dalton and
- 26:55Speaker 2: Dawson too many mouths to feed. And I just I
- 26:59Speaker 2: think think the Bills are due for a reality check
- 27:02Speaker 2: with how the AFC is gonna be a lot better
- 27:03Speaker 2: again this year.
- 27:05Speaker 1: If he's gonna blow up again, it's gonna be with
- 27:08Speaker 1: Josh Allen as his quarterback. But there's a reason why
- 27:11Speaker 1: this guy is on team number three at this point.
- 27:15Speaker 1: If you want to fade these fools, you can do
- 27:16Speaker 1: so over on DraftKings. That'll do it for today's episode
