Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: A little more at peace. Hey everybody, it's Wally Bates.
- 0:05Speaker 1: Welcome back to Rideshare Revival. I picked up Gina at
- 0:11Speaker 1: her house the other day. She was heading to an
- 0:14Speaker 1: appointment with a new cardiologist and she was a little
- 0:17Speaker 1: nervous about it. Gina was walking with a cane and
- 0:21Speaker 1: obviously had been dealing with some health issues for a while.
- 0:24Speaker 1: As we drove, she told me about one of her neighbors.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Her neighbor was actually the one who helped her set
- 0:30Speaker 1: up the ride And that led into some conversation about
- 0:34Speaker 1: people taking care of one another. Gina believed strongly in that.
- 0:41Speaker 1: We have to take care of each other, she said.
- 0:45Speaker 1: What we put out into the world matters, and so
- 0:50Speaker 1: does what we give to other people. That gave me
- 0:53Speaker 1: an opportunity to tell her a little bit about what
- 0:56Speaker 1: happens in my car. I told her about Rideshare Revival,
- 1:00Speaker 1: about the conversations I've had, about the people I've met,
- 1:04Speaker 1: and that one of my favorite parts of driving is
- 1:07Speaker 1: getting the opportunity to pray with people. And Gina was
- 1:11Speaker 1: visibly moved by that. Before long, we were pulling into
- 1:15Speaker 1: the doctor's office parking lot. The appointment she'd been nervous
- 1:18Speaker 1: about was here. So before she got out, I prayed
- 1:22Speaker 1: with her. I prayed for health, for wisdom about this
- 1:25Speaker 1: new doctor, and especially for peace. Peace as she walked
- 1:30Speaker 1: through those doors. Peace while she waited. Peace about whatever
- 1:37Speaker 1: came next. And when we finished, Gina seemed different to me.
- 1:42Speaker 1: The appointment hadn't changed. She was still seeing a new cardiologist.
- 1:46Speaker 1: There were still questions that she didn't have the answers to.
- 1:50Speaker 1: But when she seemed a little bit more at peace
- 1:54Speaker 1: about walking inside, sometimes that's what prayer does. doesn't immediately
- 2:00Speaker 1: change what's waiting on the other side of the door,
- 2:04Speaker 1: but it does change how we walk through it. Rideshare Revival.
- 2:09Speaker 1: There's hope at every turn. These are my prayers from
- 2:13Speaker 1: the road. If you would like prayer, I'd love to
- 2:15Speaker 1: pray for you. Send me over line to ridesharerevival at gmail.
