- 1:44Speaker 3: we do.
- 1:45Speaker 1: How you doing.
- 1:48Speaker 4: What?
- 1:49Speaker 3: Here's the thing like, so you don't have the normal
- 1:52Speaker 3: crew like we have to set up cameras and a
- 1:53Speaker 3: bunch of other stuff. And there's a bunch of equipment
- 1:55Speaker 3: in here, so we can't figure out which camera. Have
- 1:57Speaker 3: to hack a couple mainframes.
- 1:59Speaker 5: I got to wire all the encryptics. Yeah, gotta change
- 2:02Speaker 5: out their carbon flabinator.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Right, yeah, all that stuff that happens.
- 2:05Speaker 3: Man. How's abouty doing ad a good honestly very good?
- 2:10Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 2:10Speaker 3: Nine, yeah, yeah, I saw the video. Is that what
- 2:13Speaker 3: makes it good?
- 2:13Speaker 5: No, got a great night of sleep, had had a
- 2:16Speaker 5: good day of work already, been a very productive human being.
- 2:20Speaker 5: And there once you have that spring in your step,
- 2:22Speaker 5: it's kind of exponential, then it keeps springing.
- 2:24Speaker 1: And That's where I'm at right now. Very nice.
- 2:26Speaker 3: How about you?
- 2:27Speaker 1: Homes the everything good, Everything's great. This is a weird
- 2:29Speaker 1: ass time to come in and do a show. I'll
- 2:31Speaker 1: tell you that I've not done this at three o'clock before.
- 2:35Speaker 1: We did one time where we'd had an April Fools
- 2:37Speaker 1: thing where we switched with the midday show, and I
- 2:40Speaker 1: thought that was like, oh that that's that's the sweet spot.
- 2:42Speaker 3: No, hey, this is the sweet spot. You think this
- 2:45Speaker 3: is the sweet space?
- 2:46Speaker 1: Sweet spot?
- 2:47Speaker 3: Oh you think so?
- 2:47Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 2:47Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I have to tell you, you know, I've worked
- 2:50Speaker 3: oddly enough. I'm probably one of the only personalities on
- 2:53Speaker 3: the station. That's worked every single time slot, with the
- 2:56Speaker 3: exception of overnights. I never did overnights. Done the morning
- 2:59Speaker 3: show of course with the consers for many years. Yeah,
- 3:01Speaker 3: we were middays before we were the morning show. And
- 3:03Speaker 3: then of course once I got to this show, I've
- 3:05Speaker 3: done the entire like primetime clock we even did a
- 3:07Speaker 3: seven o'clock show at one point, seven to nine. I
- 3:09Speaker 3: even did a weekend morning show, okay at one point,
- 3:12Speaker 3: so I covered the clock at all. And I always
- 3:15Speaker 3: thought the mid days was the best time.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Really, No, this is great because this spot you can
- 3:20Speaker 1: get a lot done in your morning. You do this
- 3:22Speaker 1: for about four hours, you still got a whole night
- 3:24Speaker 1: ahead of you. Only thing was I forgot that I
- 3:27Speaker 1: forgot about traffic. I rarely ever deal with traffic in
- 3:30Speaker 1: my day to day life, and so I left at
- 3:31Speaker 1: like what I thought was a good time, because I
- 3:33Speaker 1: want to give myself about half an hour and just
- 3:35Speaker 1: in case anything happens, and.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Traffic that's a thing. Yeah, but you don't live that
- 3:39Speaker 3: far from here, do you. I don't. Yeah, the rising
- 3:42Speaker 3: it's so funny we talk about this. Of course, I
- 3:44Speaker 3: live up in Lake County up in Eustace, which is
- 3:46Speaker 3: like thirty two miles from here. But I lived in
- 3:49Speaker 3: Baldwin Park before. Right, So Baldwin Park for people who
- 3:52Speaker 3: aren't familiar with the Orlando or the area here is
- 3:54Speaker 3: only like maybe eight miles from here. Right Eustace is
- 3:57Speaker 3: thirty two miles. It takes me thirty two minutes to
- 4:00Speaker 3: get to Eustas.
- 4:01Speaker 1: It took me twenty six.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Minutes to get the ball back.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Yeah, even though it's.
- 4:04Speaker 3: Like literally twenty four more miles because of all the
- 4:07Speaker 3: lights and all the city traffic.
- 4:09Speaker 1: It sucks. Yeah. I don't know how y'all do it
- 4:11Speaker 1: where you and rush You guys live so far away.
- 4:13Speaker 3: Oh, Rollins is way farther away than I do. Youved
- 4:15Speaker 3: an hour a way. That's ridiculous an hour and it's look,
- 4:19Speaker 3: he's lucky that it's a morning show. Bro would never
- 4:23Speaker 3: ever get here on time if he had to depend
- 4:25Speaker 3: on getting through Celebration Disney and Universal jar Ban. It
- 4:30Speaker 3: is murder. When he moved to that side, I was like, God, dang, dude,
- 4:34Speaker 3: that is a roll of the dice. It is not
- 4:36Speaker 3: easy getting from that part of town to this part
- 4:38Speaker 3: of town at almost any time of the day. Of
- 4:40Speaker 3: course four o'clock in the morning helps.
- 4:41Speaker 1: I'm a guy that hates driving, though, like I do you,
- 4:44Speaker 1: I absolutely despise it. Part of the reason I bought
- 4:47Speaker 1: the house I bought it was it's ten minutes maybe
- 4:49Speaker 1: from the house in the morning, so I let my
- 4:52Speaker 1: wife drive everywhere.
- 4:53Speaker 3: To say I'm the same. I get called driving miss
- 4:56Speaker 3: Jimmy because I'm literally the rider everywhere. I get out
- 4:59Speaker 3: of the passenger and I feel like a little bit
- 5:01Speaker 3: of a bit.
- 5:02Speaker 1: That's adorable. I like it. Sometimes I ride in the
- 5:04Speaker 1: back and I yell at her. It's a lot more
- 5:07Speaker 1: fun though.
- 5:07Speaker 5: It would be a fun sequel, that's for sure. Yeah
- 5:10Speaker 5: that Disney traffic. You'll spend your birthday in it.
- 5:12Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah you will. It's gnarly. And see where
- 5:15Speaker 3: we are? All you do is I mean from the
- 5:18Speaker 3: time I leave home, and I know everybody out there
- 5:20Speaker 3: has a commute that is a just no good at all.
- 5:23Speaker 3: But every time I leave home, by the time I
- 5:25Speaker 3: leave home eleven minutes later, I'm going eighty miles an
- 5:28Speaker 3: hour all the way here because it's all big roads.
- 5:30Speaker 3: And now, of course I have tolls and gas.
- 5:32Speaker 1: But did you have to get used to your wife
- 5:34Speaker 1: driving because I did.
- 5:35Speaker 6: No.
- 5:36Speaker 3: You know what the thing is is, my wife loves
- 5:37Speaker 3: to drive so inevitably when I ride with her, and
- 5:41Speaker 3: we take her truck pretty much everywhere because my little
- 5:43Speaker 3: pickup truck isn't you know, clean or conducive to have
- 5:47Speaker 3: driving around. You know, it's just a little ride. But
- 5:50Speaker 3: just because the nature that's her car, I pretty much
- 5:52Speaker 3: wind up riding with her everywhere.
- 5:53Speaker 1: So she's a good driver.
- 5:54Speaker 3: I mean, no, she's not.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Okay, see there's my wife, That's what I'm saying. Getting
- 5:57Speaker 1: I've just had to learn to embrace the fear.
- 6:00Speaker 3: The she drives fast and loose. U turns might just
- 6:03Speaker 3: happen anywhere. It does not matter it is a random
- 6:06Speaker 3: you turn, She'll throw it in just for fun. Just
- 6:08Speaker 3: keep me on my toes. No rules. How does your
- 6:11Speaker 3: wife drive? I've never asked you that question.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Yeah, safe driver?
- 6:15Speaker 3: I mean yeah, there's a question mark at the end
- 6:17Speaker 3: of trouble right, yeah, yeah, yeah. This one to my
- 6:21Speaker 3: left is not. Does Chris get scared when he.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Rides with you?
- 6:24Speaker 7: No, he reads the newspaper.
- 6:28Speaker 3: Seriously to keep his mind off to death.
- 6:30Speaker 8: Ye.
- 6:30Speaker 7: No, he doesn't even look up anymore.
- 6:32Speaker 1: How does he not get sick. Yeah.
- 6:34Speaker 5: I can't read driving shotgun either, especially if I'm actually
- 6:39Speaker 5: driving the car.
- 6:39Speaker 3: Can't read, that's why. And you don't have motions sick? Well,
- 6:43Speaker 3: I I think it's new.
- 6:45Speaker 5: There's something like late late Yeah. And then do you
- 6:50Speaker 5: know about the dots on the phone. Oh, Jim, you
- 6:52Speaker 5: don't know about the dots.
- 6:53Speaker 1: On the phone.
- 6:53Speaker 3: Don't think I know about the dots on the phone.
- 6:54Speaker 5: There's a dot on the phone option on like a
- 6:57Speaker 5: lot of smartphones, including iPhones. There's like anti motion sickness
- 7:02Speaker 5: dots that use like the gyroscope and GPS of your
- 7:06Speaker 5: phone that whenever you are in a car, it picks
- 7:09Speaker 5: up on it and then the dots move.
- 7:12Speaker 1: With the car.
- 7:13Speaker 3: Oh that's wild. I've never even heard of that.
- 7:15Speaker 1: And it does this.
- 7:16Speaker 5: Weird magic trick that makes it pretty anti nauseous.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Yeah, the motiontick thing was pretty bad. When I was
- 7:21Speaker 3: a kid, I could not even ride in the back
- 7:23Speaker 3: of a car, even if I was looking straight ahead,
- 7:25Speaker 3: I couldn't do it. It would It would tear me up.
- 7:27Speaker 3: Reading was a joke. That would that's instant puke.
- 7:30Speaker 5: See you you would be a guy for the dots.
- 7:32Speaker 5: You're a candidate for the dots.
- 7:33Speaker 1: On the phone.
- 7:33Speaker 3: But Ryan's right though, So I've gotten older, it's like weird,
- 7:35Speaker 3: I've lost it. I don't really have that that much anymore.
- 7:38Speaker 3: Like I can't spin around in circles. But other than that,
- 7:41Speaker 3: I don't get motion sick. I ride and read all
- 7:43Speaker 3: the time when my wife's driving. So wait, wait, you
- 7:45Speaker 3: lost it and I got it.
- 7:47Speaker 5: Yeah, you gave it to me like a weird like
- 7:49Speaker 5: impression sock vampire.
- 7:53Speaker 3: There's like an onset adult a bunch of stuff, like
- 7:55Speaker 3: you can get allergies as an adult, like adult onset
- 7:58Speaker 3: allergies and things like that. You know, you could not
- 8:00Speaker 3: be allergic to anything in your life, and then as
- 8:02Speaker 3: you get older, you know, develop an allergy to stuff.
- 8:05Speaker 1: I'm allergic to dogs. Now, are you really just out
- 8:07Speaker 1: of nowhere?
- 8:07Speaker 3: That's a drag, don't you have one? Yes?
- 8:09Speaker 1: But she's so cute to deal with it. But my
- 8:11Speaker 1: arms will break out and hives on my pet her
- 8:13Speaker 1: for a long time. Yeah worth it. Yeah, it's a dog.
- 8:17Speaker 3: Look at a dog.
- 8:18Speaker 1: She's like, oh, this is the thing you just got. Yeah,
- 8:21Speaker 1: she's like a Kerr Lab mix rescue.
- 8:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:24Speaker 1: I just picked her up while I was day drinking
- 8:26Speaker 1: brunch one day.
- 8:26Speaker 3: What better time, I know.
- 8:28Speaker 1: I went to go see Jack and Joseph Martin to
- 8:30Speaker 1: get These guys were out at uh A, Lucky Lure
- 8:33Speaker 1: and Sony. So we walk by the dog when we
- 8:36Speaker 1: come in and I'm like, oh, look at these cute
- 8:38Speaker 1: dogs and a couple of drinks back, come back out
- 8:40Speaker 1: and like, look at this. As I was taking it
- 8:42Speaker 1: home and Pet Rescue by Judy, Judy was actually there,
- 8:44Speaker 1: and I'm pretty buzzed, and I'm like, we're getting this dog.
- 8:48Speaker 1: I'm local celebrity, Ryan Holmes, and this will only be
- 8:50Speaker 1: good for your business.
- 8:52Speaker 3: Did you really take that?
- 8:53Speaker 1: There was another guy trying to take it, and I
- 8:55Speaker 1: was like, I was like, I'm gonna have to like,
- 8:57Speaker 1: you know, push a little bit to get that, and
- 8:59Speaker 1: he was very mad at me. But I love this
- 9:01Speaker 1: dog so much. She's finally like past the super destructive
- 9:05Speaker 1: phase where she's kind of nice now. So it's good.
- 9:07Speaker 3: But I'm so allergic and they probably should have turned
- 9:09Speaker 3: you down just for saying local celebrity, right.
- 9:11Speaker 1: I like to say local celebrity. In fact, usually I
- 9:14Speaker 1: say hyper local celebrity because it's very specific areas of
- 9:17Speaker 1: Walmart's that I'm very famous.
- 9:19Speaker 3: It's so funny. Actually what I consider doing stand up.
- 9:22Speaker 3: But one time in my life I wrote a bit
- 9:23Speaker 3: about being radio famous. It's kind of weird because I
- 9:25Speaker 3: can drive out of my fame. Yes, I can. Literally,
- 9:28Speaker 3: I can drive out of my fame like I can.
- 9:30Speaker 3: I can be like, oh man, look at this. Everybody
- 9:32Speaker 3: knows me in Orlando, and then literally three miles later,
- 9:34Speaker 3: nobody knows.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Who I am.
- 9:35Speaker 5: It's like in between two gas nations. The line is
- 9:39Speaker 5: I can step in. One guy knows exactly the other
- 9:41Speaker 5: guy has no clue.
- 9:42Speaker 1: They know me in a circle. Okay, but not a
- 9:43Speaker 1: wall walk all right?
- 9:44Speaker 3: Four oh seven nine one six one o four to one. Again,
- 9:46Speaker 3: you can always text us at seven seven zero three one.
- 9:50Speaker 3: I'm gonna ask you guys a question a little bit later.
- 9:51Speaker 3: I want to answer to what do you spend the
- 9:54Speaker 3: least on that makes you the happiest? What do you
- 9:58Speaker 3: spend the least on? By the way, you want to
- 10:00Speaker 3: check it in on texting service, you can do that
- 10:01Speaker 3: also talk back seven seven zero three one. You can
- 10:04Speaker 3: send us a text. Talkback is just grab the iHeart
- 10:06Speaker 3: radio app, go to real radio and use that Mike,
- 10:08Speaker 3: descend it over. We'll get you on there in no
- 10:10Speaker 3: time at all. I've kind of boiled mine down.
- 10:12Speaker 5: Yeah, that question is like one of those wizard questions, like, yeah,
- 10:15Speaker 5: I have to answer that question to cross a bridge.
- 10:18Speaker 3: No, I'm telling you, dude, I think it's coffee. Like
- 10:21Speaker 3: for me, I think it's a good cup of coffee
- 10:23Speaker 3: is like the thing I spend the least on that
- 10:25Speaker 3: makes me the happiest. Like in the morning, when you
- 10:27Speaker 3: get up, you get a really good cup of coffee.
- 10:29Speaker 3: I don't know that I can be happier than that
- 10:31Speaker 3: at that moment. You say a really good dollar and
- 10:33Speaker 3: a half or two bucks or whatever it is. Now
- 10:35Speaker 3: you say a really good cup of coffee.
- 10:36Speaker 5: How much do you differentiate your cups of coffee on
- 10:41Speaker 5: a weekly basis?
- 10:42Speaker 3: I mean, I have an espresso machine. I use that
- 10:44Speaker 3: it makes a pretty damn good cup of coffee. I'm
- 10:46Speaker 3: not arguing that.
- 10:47Speaker 5: But you said I love a good cup of coffee,
- 10:49Speaker 5: which then sounds like sometimes you have.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Bad cups of coffee.
- 10:52Speaker 5: Yeah, Like, how often do you change your standard morning
- 10:55Speaker 5: cup of.
- 10:56Speaker 3: Cof Well, I mean just recently we were when we
- 10:58Speaker 3: were in my hometown for this reunion thing. You know,
- 11:01Speaker 3: nobody's there. Nobody there is making like a really good
- 11:03Speaker 3: strong cup of coffee. They don't have like a Starbucks
- 11:05Speaker 3: or anything. It's all diner coffee.
- 11:06Speaker 1: You know.
- 11:07Speaker 3: It's a dirty sock water. Yeah, it's only just diner coffee.
- 11:09Speaker 3: It's like leftover grains, you know, It's just it doesn't
- 11:12Speaker 3: have any balls. So when you get a really good,
- 11:14Speaker 3: robust cup of coffee, man, it makes you feel like
- 11:16Speaker 3: a million.
- 11:17Speaker 5: I agree, But I'm saying, like, do you change your
- 11:21Speaker 5: morning espresso cup?
- 11:22Speaker 3: You're is that a CA cup?
- 11:24Speaker 8: Right?
- 11:24Speaker 1: So you know it's a pod, but yeah, it's a pod.
- 11:26Speaker 3: The first one I have is a thing called uh
- 11:29Speaker 3: it's their Italian roast, which is their dark roast with
- 11:31Speaker 3: fully robust and then my second cup is more of
- 11:33Speaker 3: a mellow cup. I always have like two cups.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Of morning Oh yeah.
- 11:37Speaker 3: But even then, like the pods are like a dollar
- 11:39Speaker 3: fifty apiece, So still I'm only spending three bucks even
- 11:41Speaker 3: with two cups of coffee.
- 11:42Speaker 1: Super happy I go to In the course of a week,
- 11:46Speaker 1: I'm having at least four different places coffee. Oh you really,
- 11:50Speaker 1: because it depends on like where I'm going, because uh,
- 11:52Speaker 1: I depending on where I exit my neighborhood. I can
- 11:54Speaker 1: either hit a Starbucks or I can hit the Dunkin Donuts,
- 11:56Speaker 1: and then I come here.
- 11:57Speaker 3: That's a way different experience too.
- 11:59Speaker 1: To drink uh the terrible office coffee.
- 12:01Speaker 3: Not do that?
- 12:02Speaker 1: Yeah, they make All that coffee does is make me
- 12:05Speaker 1: sick and full of anxiety. I never wake up. They
- 12:07Speaker 1: didn't put caffeine in it. But and then like usually
- 12:10Speaker 1: like a foxtail or something at some point, Yeah.
- 12:12Speaker 3: It's not bad. What about you wrong?
- 12:15Speaker 1: I'm going I'm going throughout all of them.
- 12:18Speaker 5: Was that just like all the greatest hits of Orlando coffee?
- 12:23Speaker 1: Did it? Done it? Yeah?
- 12:25Speaker 3: I mean still my favorite cup you know where that is.
- 12:26Speaker 5: I had a French pastry, uh, ice latte. But I'm
- 12:31Speaker 5: an ice coffee guy. I'm still balling with my ice coffee.
- 12:33Speaker 3: I do not get the ice coffee thing. I do
- 12:35Speaker 3: not understand that it's still cold. I'm still drinking my
- 12:38Speaker 3: ice coffee.
- 12:39Speaker 1: What about your.
- 12:40Speaker 7: Definitely cigarettes, especially.
- 12:41Speaker 1: On a day like today, Dimpleman coffee almost did even
- 12:45Speaker 1: look at you.
- 12:46Speaker 3: I just want to I just went I almost.
- 12:48Speaker 1: Went like this, de sicks.
- 12:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I literally almost said that, oh yeah, yeah, right,
- 12:53Speaker 3: it used to be a smoker.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Right, used to Yeah, well I do, uh like if
- 12:57Speaker 1: there's a monster event or something. Yeah, Like, I I'm
- 13:00Speaker 1: very much a need something to do with my hands
- 13:02Speaker 1: kind of person.
- 13:02Speaker 6: A non smoker who becomes a smoker when the alcohol
- 13:05Speaker 6: is introduced.

- 13:09Speaker 7: That makes you decent. Yes, yeah, that makes you decent.
- 13:11Speaker 1: And if you ask me for cigarettes, I'm one hundred

- 14:03Speaker 3: Oh sorry, I wasn't aware of the organic senior read
- 14:05Speaker 3: market ipologies.

- 14:08Speaker 5: big fan of the people who are like I only
- 14:09Speaker 5: smoke when I drink because I always think they're like
- 14:11Speaker 5: the bisexuals of.
- 14:12Speaker 3: The time tobacco worlds, you know, of the vices.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, all right.
- 14:17Speaker 3: Four seven nine one, text Us seven seven zero three one.

- 14:43Speaker 6: jury is reportedly hearing testimony and a helped Florida probe.
- 14:47Speaker 6: And a famed American movie poster artist has died.
- 14:50Speaker 3: Wow.

- 15:54Speaker 1: Wow, this guy gotta put his name on everything. It's
- 15:57Speaker 1: in my contracted Here's the news on the Jim.
- 16:01Speaker 6: And as always, JCS News is brought to you by
- 16:04Speaker 6: that mortgage guy Don. The Israel Defense Forces is confirming
- 16:08Speaker 6: and open fire in Gaza, as local authorities reported six
- 16:11Speaker 6: people killed. According to an idea of post on Exit
- 16:14Speaker 6: open fire on what it described as several suspects approaching
- 16:18Speaker 6: troop positions in northern Gaza and its urging residents in
- 16:22Speaker 6: Gaza to quote follow instructions and keep their distance from
- 16:25Speaker 6: IDF troops end quote. The gunfire came a day after
- 16:28Speaker 6: President Trump's visit to the Reason declaring an end of
- 16:31Speaker 6: the war between.
- 16:32Speaker 7: Israel and Hamas.
- 16:33Speaker 6: Under the ceasefire, Hamas has released the last remaining living
- 16:37Speaker 6: hostages and will transfer the bodies held since the October seventh,
- 16:40Speaker 6: twenty twenty three attack. Meanwhile, the next phase of President
- 16:44Speaker 6: Trump's twenty point Middle East Plan is expected to begin
- 16:47Speaker 6: now that all living Israeli hostages have been returned ofir. O'cunis,
- 16:52Speaker 6: acting Consul General of Israel in Miami, says Palestine will
- 16:56Speaker 6: not be recognized as a separate state.
- 17:00Speaker 8: Not be part of the ill and we said it
- 17:02Speaker 8: to our American friends and through them to the southeast.
- 17:06Speaker 1: It will not be a condition, and.
- 17:08Speaker 6: He says the Arab nations have signed on to back Israel,
- 17:11Speaker 6: like Hutter, Egypt and Turkey. Gaza is set to become
- 17:15Speaker 6: a demilitarized zone once the remains of all the dead
- 17:17Speaker 6: Israeli hostages are returned and all Palestinian prisoners are released.
- 17:22Speaker 6: Closer to home, social media posts could prove costly for
- 17:25Speaker 6: an elected official in Brevard County. The Palm Bay City
- 17:29Speaker 6: Council is going to meet Thursday to discuss censuring council
- 17:32Speaker 6: member Chandler Langovin.
- 17:34Speaker 7: You remember he's accused.
- 17:35Speaker 6: He accused rather Indians of exploiting the US immigration system,
- 17:39Speaker 6: and he called for every single one of them to
- 17:41Speaker 6: be deported.
- 17:43Speaker 3: What a weird fight to pick.
- 17:46Speaker 7: So you don't like a chicken tika.
- 17:48Speaker 6: Some Indian Americans showed out up a recent city council
- 17:51Speaker 6: meeting to say they were offended by Langovin's posts. The
- 17:54Speaker 6: council could vote to central Langavin for conduct unbecoming of
- 17:58Speaker 6: an elected member and for properly using the city's letterhead.
- 18:02Speaker 3: Man, when you saw that meeting, when right after he
- 18:04Speaker 3: made those comments, that next commission meeting was like they
- 18:07Speaker 3: were giving up free lottery tickets. That thing was absolutely
- 18:11Speaker 3: jacked with people. And this guy is tripling, quadrupling down.
- 18:14Speaker 3: He's on faden No.
- 18:15Speaker 6: And in fact, what I guess you would call his
- 18:17Speaker 6: apology post was let this letter serve as.
- 18:20Speaker 3: It was like, oh, no, nobody's listing to best. No
- 18:23Speaker 3: nobody cares, buddy, Sorry, dude, you'll be a vapor in
- 18:26Speaker 3: about two years.
- 18:26Speaker 6: To get out of here, all right, just in case
- 18:29Speaker 6: you thought this story had gone away, Apparently it is not.
- 18:32Speaker 6: A grand jury in Tallahassee is reportedly hearing testimony this
- 18:35Speaker 6: week and the Hope, Florida investigation remember that, Oh yeah, yeah,
- 18:39Speaker 6: So prosecutors are reviewing whether ten million dollars from a
- 18:42Speaker 6: state legal settlement with a Medicaid contractor was illegally funneled
- 18:47Speaker 6: through nonprofits to a political committee once tied to now
- 18:51Speaker 6: Attorney General James Uthmeier. Grand jury proceedings are secret, but
- 18:55Speaker 6: legal experts say they could lead to criminal charges. And
- 18:58Speaker 6: obviously they don't call a grand jury. They think they
- 19:00Speaker 6: have something showing. Governor DeSantis and Uthmeyer deny wrongdoing and
- 19:06Speaker 6: call the probe politically motivated.
- 19:11Speaker 3: All right, Uh, who are the political I'm surprised this
- 19:15Speaker 3: is still being investigated, all right.
- 19:19Speaker 6: Democratic members of Florida's congressional delegation are ramping up pressure
- 19:23Speaker 6: on Republicans to negotiate on healthcare before reopening the government.
- 19:27Speaker 6: Orlando Congressman Darren Soto says Floridians are facing a one
- 19:31Speaker 6: to two punch when Obamacare tax credits and Medicaid cuts
- 19:35Speaker 6: take effect at the end of the year.
- 19:38Speaker 9: There's nothing normal about two million Floridians losing their healthcare,
- 19:43Speaker 9: especially when you add on top of it a massive
- 19:46Speaker 9: Medicaid disin Wollman, so there's no place for them to go.
- 19:50Speaker 6: Meanwhile, House Speaker Mike Johnson is warning the current government
- 19:53Speaker 6: shutdown could be one of the longest in history. I
- 19:56Speaker 6: believe the longest has been seventeen days. Hmmm, interesting, I'll
- 20:00Speaker 6: have to look that back up.
- 20:01Speaker 5: Yeah, if it's seventeen days, I thought it was longer
- 20:03Speaker 5: than that.
- 20:04Speaker 3: Actually it may have been.
- 20:05Speaker 5: Vibe is we're going to blow right past seventeen days.
- 20:09Speaker 3: That's the vibe that I pick up on by call
- 20:11Speaker 3: me crazy. This guy loves records. Right, let's keep it going.
- 20:15Speaker 3: Thirty five days? Is there thirty five days?
- 20:17Speaker 1: All right?
- 20:17Speaker 7: They got a ways to go.
- 20:19Speaker 6: Speaking of healthcare, uf Health, Leesburg Hospital is stopping labor
- 20:23Speaker 6: and delivery services. We'd covered this story several months ago,
- 20:26Speaker 6: but the hospital says the community's health needs are changing
- 20:29Speaker 6: as people get older and birth rates decline. Officials say
- 20:33Speaker 6: this is going to allow them to expand specialty services
- 20:36Speaker 6: like comprehensive breast health. The change is going to take
- 20:40Speaker 6: effect tomorrow, October fifteenth, and we've talked about expectant mothers
- 20:44Speaker 6: out in that Leesburg, Eustace, Mount.
- 20:45Speaker 3: Dora t Varies area. That's wild.
- 20:47Speaker 6: We're like, well, now what do I do? I was
- 20:49Speaker 6: planning to have my baby here at UF Health.
- 20:52Speaker 3: Wow, that's crazy. So they have to go down, they
- 20:53Speaker 3: have to come to Orlando, like go to Arnold Palmer
- 20:55Speaker 3: or one of the advent or.
- 20:57Speaker 6: Yeah, they're gonna have to wow. Yeah tomorrow, they're not
- 21:00Speaker 6: going to be able to have their baby there.
- 21:02Speaker 3: And that's crazy because Lake County has hospitals. I mean
- 21:04Speaker 3: we haven't mean that add the one that's like brand
- 21:06Speaker 3: new what actually still being expanded as we speak.
- 21:08Speaker 6: Yeah, but they say the population there just aren't having
- 21:11Speaker 6: as many babies anymore, so having a labor and delivery
- 21:14Speaker 6: services just doesn't make sense.
- 21:15Speaker 3: Yeah, the average age out there's like one hundred and five.
- 21:20Speaker 6: All right, protests again, President Trump are returning to Central
- 21:23Speaker 6: Florida this Saturday. The No King's two point zero demonstrations
- 21:26Speaker 6: are part of a nationwide movement against what organizers call
- 21:29Speaker 6: quote authoritarianism end quote. They're planning peaceful gatherings in various
- 21:35Speaker 6: locations including Castleberry, Claremont, Lake, Mary, Leesburg, Mount Dora, Orlando,
- 21:40Speaker 6: and Point Siena. The demonstrations follow large rallies held back
- 21:44Speaker 6: in June.
- 21:45Speaker 3: Expect about ten million people for that thing, by the way,
- 21:48Speaker 3: yeah it's ten million people.
- 21:50Speaker 6: All I want to see is what they're doing in
- 21:52Speaker 6: Portland and everyone wear what those inflatable costumes?
- 21:55Speaker 3: Oh yeah, that was the great.
- 21:55Speaker 6: It's so funny watching frogs and pigs and chipmunks running around.
- 22:00Speaker 3: Nothing better than what your dude, who's been an ice
- 22:02Speaker 3: agent for about a week yell at a guy in
- 22:04Speaker 3: an inflatable Barney customer.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Yeah, shut back behind the lines.
- 22:08Speaker 3: I used to be a security guard to target and
- 22:10Speaker 3: I will use this tiger.
- 22:12Speaker 1: Do you guys get bombarded with the Ice ads like
- 22:14Speaker 1: I get right now on my social medias. They're trying
- 22:17Speaker 1: to recruit me.
- 22:18Speaker 3: Of course, they are fifty thousand dollars signing moments over
- 22:20Speaker 3: ten years and stuff. Let's by a frog for that.
- 22:25Speaker 3: I would just do the fun one. Give me the
- 22:28Speaker 3: Castlebury rally in mohawks.
- 22:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:34Speaker 6: Well, SeaWorld has apparently been behaving naughty. SeaWorld is accused
- 22:38Speaker 6: of using deceptive pricing tactics to attract customers.
- 22:42Speaker 3: Okay.
- 22:43Speaker 6: A newly filed lawsuit claimed SeaWorld misled customers about the
- 22:47Speaker 6: true cost of tickets, violating some pricing laws. SeaWorld operates
- 22:52Speaker 6: multiple parks here in Central Florida, including SeaWorld and Aquatica.
- 22:55Speaker 7: No word on how they respond to the lawsuit.
- 22:59Speaker 6: A former police officer will spend time behind bars in
- 23:02Speaker 6: Osiola County. Former Kissimi police officer Andrew Bisseggio was sentenced yesterday.
- 23:07Speaker 3: To nine months in the county jail. Yeah.
- 23:10Speaker 6: He pled guilty to felony battery, witness tampering, and official misconduct.
- 23:14Speaker 6: The charges date back two years ago when he responded
- 23:17Speaker 6: to a call at a home on Brackstreet. Investigators say
- 23:20Speaker 6: he entered the home without a warrant, hit and taste
- 23:23Speaker 6: a man who was not resisting arrest.
- 23:27Speaker 3: He just took off his Bonnie customs.
- 23:30Speaker 6: Others in the department were accused of covering up the incident,
- 23:34Speaker 6: and Chief Betty Holland wound up resigning.
- 23:37Speaker 3: Yeah, he was very apologetic today after the sentencing. He
- 23:41Speaker 3: was just basically throwing himself on the court, you know,
- 23:44Speaker 3: just you know, saying I'm sorry, I'm sorry, over and
- 23:45Speaker 3: over again.
- 23:46Speaker 7: So still I'm surprised. Nine months.
- 23:48Speaker 6: It's a pretty lengthy amount of time, especially for a
- 23:50Speaker 6: former l el that keeps him in county though, yeah
- 23:52Speaker 6: it does, Thank goodness for that. The next guy not
- 23:55Speaker 6: going to be so lucky. But sometimes stupidity has a price.
- 23:59Speaker 3: I love it.
- 24:00Speaker 6: Sarasota man is heading to prison after staging an ambush
- 24:03Speaker 6: on paramedics in twenty nineteen. Please say, Tyrone Young lured
- 24:08Speaker 6: first responders to a fake nine one call and then
- 24:11Speaker 6: open fire on their ambulance. Thankfully, no one was hurt,
- 24:15Speaker 6: but investigators say he tried to blame the shooting on
- 24:18Speaker 6: a young relative to seek leniency on other charges.
- 24:22Speaker 7: Listen to this next part.
- 24:23Speaker 6: Just one day before he was set to begin a
- 24:27Speaker 6: one year prison sentence, fast forward, Young pleaded no contest
- 24:32Speaker 6: to the charges and has been sentenced to forty years
- 24:36Speaker 6: in prison plus twenty years of probation.
- 24:41Speaker 3: They call that a stinger. That's a stinger which is
- 24:46Speaker 3: going to leave a bit of a mark there. Forty years.
- 24:48Speaker 6: Dude, No reason why when he had only been facing
- 24:51Speaker 6: one year, and the day before he was to serve
- 24:54Speaker 6: that one year prison sentence, he does this ambush attack
- 24:58Speaker 6: on paramedics.
- 24:58Speaker 7: Now he's going to spend forty years in prison.
- 25:01Speaker 5: If only His original prison sentence was a year and
- 25:05Speaker 5: a day.
- 25:05Speaker 3: Right, Oh yeah, saving all right.
- 25:08Speaker 6: The Roward School board has fired the high school assistant
- 25:12Speaker 6: football coach. I don't really understand why, who was arrested
- 25:16Speaker 6: last month on child abuse charges after he was accused
- 25:19Speaker 6: of fighting players over a social media post. Well, video
- 25:25Speaker 6: from earlier in the year shows Jamior Clark fighting students
- 25:29Speaker 6: and another high school bathroom. This is his bit which
- 25:32Speaker 6: angered Adam severa.
- 25:35Speaker 3: I would like to know how this gentleman was able
- 25:38Speaker 3: to go from Monarch to Elee High School and essentially
- 25:41Speaker 3: commit the same type of offense.
- 25:43Speaker 6: Well, listen, hey, the district's chief human resources officer claims
- 25:46Speaker 6: they didn't know that first video existed until after the
- 25:49Speaker 6: second incident occurred.
- 25:50Speaker 3: And they never learned to defend the runs with Clark.
- 25:55Speaker 1: Did the post say?
- 25:56Speaker 7: I don't know, but Clark.
- 25:58Speaker 6: Served as a camp monitor at an elementary school because
- 26:02Speaker 6: of budget cuts led to the reduction of one hundred monitors,
- 26:05Speaker 6: So you know that gave him time to get in
- 26:08Speaker 6: the bathroom and fight with others.
- 26:10Speaker 3: That's a TV show, by the way, A hot headed
- 26:12Speaker 3: former coach who beats up players and he gets reassigned
- 26:14Speaker 3: to an elementary school. That's a TV show waiting to happen.
- 26:18Speaker 7: Welcome to Florida.
- 26:19Speaker 1: But he wasn't fighting the elementary schoolers at least. Just yeah,
- 26:24Speaker 1: how many canny fight? That's what I want to see.
- 26:26Speaker 5: Oh, the car line is so delicious now it's called
- 26:28Speaker 5: Westbound and Up.
- 26:31Speaker 6: The numbers are in on the recent wet weather that
- 26:33Speaker 6: hit central Florida. The National Weather Service yesterday released the
- 26:36Speaker 6: rainfall totals from last Wednesday through Saturday. Brevard County got
- 26:40Speaker 6: the most, over eight and a half inches falling on
- 26:44Speaker 6: rock Ledge. Vlucia County also got over half a foot,
- 26:47Speaker 6: with seven inches falling in Edgewater. You know where they
- 26:50Speaker 6: need it the most. Edgewater Seminole County got over three
- 26:54Speaker 6: and a half inches, and Orange on Oscila County he's
- 26:57Speaker 6: got over two inches. Lake County just over one and
- 27:00Speaker 6: a half inches. Yes, but be happy you're not on
- 27:02Speaker 6: the coast where the recent nor'easter and unusually high tides
- 27:05Speaker 6: are responsible for carving steep sand cliffs along parts of
- 27:09Speaker 6: Florida's East Coast and Fernidana Beach. Some drop offs are
- 27:13Speaker 6: as high as five feet, prompting safety warnings for beach goers.
- 27:17Speaker 7: Don't want to think you're wool.
- 27:19Speaker 3: I've seen that happen in Sant Augustine. I've been walking
- 27:21Speaker 3: on that beach after hurricanes and it drops six It's crazy.
- 27:25Speaker 7: And you're not prepared for it.
- 27:26Speaker 3: And you just can't imagine that that much earth could
- 27:29Speaker 3: wash away so easily and just no problem whatsoever. Now,
- 27:31Speaker 3: that happened like a day and a half.
- 27:32Speaker 6: I remember that happening in Daytona Beach. Shores had gone
- 27:35Speaker 6: out the day before to look at sea turtlenests. The
- 27:37Speaker 6: next day you couldn't even walk onto the beach.
- 27:39Speaker 3: The drop was seven feet.
- 27:41Speaker 6: And speaking of Saint Augustine, further south, in Saint Augustine
- 27:44Speaker 6: from Fernadana Beach, you talked about this yesterday. Coastal flooding
- 27:47Speaker 6: shut down roads like the Lions Bridge and forced the
- 27:51Speaker 6: closure of beach access ramps. Meanwhile, the high tides and
- 27:54Speaker 6: surf watched away numerous turtle nests Flagler Beach, Daytona Beach,
- 27:59Speaker 6: in fact, what they call the washback season.
- 28:02Speaker 3: Oh really, I have not heard of it.
- 28:03Speaker 6: Where the baby turtles and that being washed back onto
- 28:05Speaker 6: the shore. Oh wow, and that goes through November.
- 28:08Speaker 5: So yeah, it's just you know, at a quick glance,
- 28:10Speaker 5: that sounds derogatory.
- 28:12Speaker 1: Yeah, that sounds like.
- 28:13Speaker 3: Something that yelling Texas or after last Call. Yeah, washback
- 28:18Speaker 3: for me is just day before Beach.
- 28:21Speaker 6: And then finally, famed American movie poster artist Drew Strusen
- 28:25Speaker 6: has passed away. Strewsen designed some of the most iconic
- 28:28Speaker 6: posters in Hollywood history, including for blockbusters like The Star Wars,
- 28:33Speaker 6: Back to the Future, and Harry Potter franchises. His career
- 28:38Speaker 6: started by producing album covers for bands such as Black Sabbath,
- 28:41Speaker 6: Oh That's cool, Yeah, The Beach Boys, as well as
- 28:44Speaker 6: Alice Cooper's Welcome to My Nightmare Badass, which was named
- 28:48Speaker 6: one of the one hundred Classic album covers by Rolling
- 28:50Speaker 6: Stone in nineteen ninety one.
- 28:52Speaker 3: A true loss art, right, that's the one that had
- 28:54Speaker 3: the doll that looked like it was all like the
- 28:57Speaker 3: raggedy Ann doll that was all murdered out or whatever. Cool.
- 29:00Speaker 3: I think that's what it was.
- 29:01Speaker 1: This guy is the poster guy every iconic poster you
- 29:04Speaker 1: think of. This guy did it. This is as big
- 29:06Speaker 1: of a loss as like the losing the inn a
- 29:09Speaker 1: world guy. Oh really, it's gonna change, It's gonna change
- 29:12Speaker 1: posters and movies forever.
- 29:13Speaker 3: It's funny. I didn't know that there was a guy
- 29:15Speaker 3: that was for movie posters, the ones. I remember the
- 29:17Speaker 3: artist from the sixties who drew all those band posters
- 29:20Speaker 3: for the psychedelic bands that became so famous. Yep, and
- 29:23Speaker 3: there's like four or five of those guys that their
- 29:24Speaker 3: stuff is still worth a lot of money. I didn't
- 29:26Speaker 3: know there was a movie poster guy that was like
- 29:27Speaker 3: in the same realm.
- 29:28Speaker 6: Well, he retired in two thousand and eight, but came
- 29:30Speaker 6: out of retirement throughout the twenty tens to illustrate posters
- 29:34Speaker 6: for Star Wars The Force Awakens right ross some of
- 29:37Speaker 6: your favorite series of movies.
- 29:38Speaker 5: Nah, the last trilogy, but yes, I do respect Star Wars,
- 29:42Speaker 5: even though they just took a fat dump all over
- 29:44Speaker 5: my fandom.
- 29:45Speaker 6: But whatever, and the How To Train Your Dragon trilogy
- 29:48Speaker 6: as well. Strew Zone was seventy eight years old.
- 29:52Speaker 1: Damn, that's young man.
- 29:53Speaker 7: It is young.
- 29:54Speaker 3: It is seventy eight, Yeah, seventy age, young man.
- 29:57Speaker 7: Just give it a few years, right, give it a
- 29:59Speaker 7: few years.
- 30:00Speaker 1: I'm like, he had a good life. Yeah, bitch, let me.
- 30:02Speaker 3: Tell you when you can see that from your portage
- 30:05Speaker 3: bad news. You look at life differently.
- 30:07Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I thought you guys were talking. That's not bad.
- 30:10Speaker 6: Yeah, and that concludes your JCS news.
- 30:16Speaker 1: Don't don't all right?
- 30:18Speaker 6: For a seven, Mine's like, what the hell did I
- 30:20Speaker 6: just walk into four?
- 30:22Speaker 3: I got little audio bits at seven seven zero three one.
- 30:26Speaker 3: All right, table breaker. We'll come back into the Froggers
- 30:28Speaker 3: football follow up, so load them up. That means we
- 30:30Speaker 3: have a twenty five dollars gift card to Ruggers Grilling
- 30:32Speaker 3: Bar to give away to the person who guesses which
- 30:34Speaker 3: member of the show had the most right picks this
- 30:36Speaker 3: weekend in NFL Action. We'll do that right after this.
- 30:40Speaker 1: The Ruggers follow.
- 30:42Speaker 2: Up is next call now for your chance to win
- 30:44Speaker 2: four oh seven nine one six one o four one.
- 30:47Speaker 3: There's Bill and Barr if you can choose which member
- 30:51Speaker 3: of the show had more correct picks for week six
- 30:55Speaker 3: in the NFL. By the way, welcome back to the
- 30:56Speaker 3: Jim Colbert Show. I'm Jim dev Is here, Hello Ryan
- 30:59Speaker 3: Holmes in Today and Ross of Courses here as well.
- 31:05Speaker 3: It is true we do have two lines open if
- 31:07Speaker 3: you guys want to grab one of those in case
- 31:09Speaker 3: we have more than three incorrect answers. We will need
- 31:13Speaker 3: one more caller to make that right. So again four
- 31:15Speaker 3: seven nine one.
- 31:16Speaker 1: Six four one.
- 31:17Speaker 3: How do you think you did this week? Do you
- 31:19Speaker 3: know Ross how you did?
- 31:20Speaker 1: Yeah? I do?
- 31:21Speaker 3: Okay, I also know I just looked for the first time. Ryan.
- 31:25Speaker 3: Do you you guys do anything like this? Somebody just
- 31:27Speaker 3: text in something about your gambling habits. You have a
- 31:29Speaker 3: gambling habit.
- 31:29Speaker 1: I do. I just recently got into parlay betting, which
- 31:32Speaker 1: I've never done before. It's it's uh so you feel
- 31:35Speaker 1: so alive? Yeah? Yeah, dude, you got to chase that dragon.
- 31:38Speaker 1: Is it's triming on your show tomorrow?
- 31:40Speaker 3: Yes? Yeah, you should ask him about the parlay he missed.
- 31:43Speaker 3: He told us about it yesterday because he does our
- 31:45Speaker 3: show on Mondays. Ask him about the parlay he missed
- 31:49Speaker 3: and how much the Dallas Cowboys cost him. Dude, this
- 31:51Speaker 3: has been a weird football year. Oh, the worst splash
- 31:54Speaker 3: the best. Actually, last last.
- 31:56Speaker 1: Week I got ran through the ringer.
- 31:58Speaker 3: It was everybody's name, everybody did it?
- 31:59Speaker 1: Well?
- 32:00Speaker 3: Was it eight one last week or something like that?
- 32:02Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 32:02Speaker 3: And then and then Buffalo loses last night, Yeah to
- 32:05Speaker 3: flow to Atlanta, costing me a lot of money right now.
- 32:08Speaker 3: It's so incredible. But basically what happens here is you
- 32:12Speaker 3: choose myself, Ross, Jack or deb If you think one
- 32:17Speaker 3: of us won, you just make that pick and we'll
- 32:18Speaker 3: let you know how it went. So let's get to it. One, two, three,
- 32:22Speaker 3: four or five. Deborah, let's go too, mine too. I
- 32:26Speaker 3: don't know who this is, Ryan, so we'll do as
- 32:28Speaker 3: Robert from Ovido, Hey, Robert, how you doing, buddy? All right? Good,
- 32:31Speaker 3: thank you, well, glad to hear you.
- 32:33Speaker 1: Thanks for calling today. You're welcome.
- 32:35Speaker 3: All right, buddy. Well, out of the four of us, myself, Deb, Ross,
- 32:39Speaker 3: or Jack, who do you believe had the most correct
- 32:41Speaker 3: picks this week in the NFL weekend.
- 32:45Speaker 7: I'm gonna go with Ross.
- 32:47Speaker 1: You're gonna go with the Ross.
- 32:49Speaker 3: He's had a couple of really good weeks. He has
- 32:51Speaker 3: had a couple of really good weeks.
- 32:52Speaker 5: I really thank you from the bottom of my heart
- 32:56Speaker 5: for you knowing that I am a real sports fan,
- 32:58Speaker 5: because on the outside, I look like I only played croquete.
- 33:02Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah yeah, and badminton a little bit.
- 33:05Speaker 1: A little badminton.
- 33:06Speaker 3: Unfortunately, Ross had the worst week of all of us
- 33:08Speaker 3: this week, and he came in dead last this week.
- 33:11Speaker 3: But I'm gonna tell you. I'll give you there's a disclaimer.
- 33:13Speaker 3: I'll tell you a minute. But you are not the
- 33:15Speaker 3: winner of their buddy, my apologies.
- 33:16Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, I'm not going to be quiet on that.
- 33:18Speaker 5: But yeah, I did the worst. Yeah with the I
- 33:21Speaker 5: don't you gotta get to it later.
- 33:23Speaker 1: I'll explain my god, relaxed.
- 33:25Speaker 3: I just felt like you leaned into it. I'm a
- 33:26Speaker 3: sorts fan. I'm a sports fan. I care one, three,
- 33:29Speaker 3: four or five. Let's go five five five? Brian from Orlando, Brian,
- 33:34Speaker 3: what's going on? Buddy?
- 33:35Speaker 2: What's going on?
- 33:35Speaker 1: Guys? How y'all doing all right?
- 33:37Speaker 3: Ross is ol He came in death last between myself,
- 33:39Speaker 3: Deb and Jack. Who do you think had the most
- 33:42Speaker 3: pic with Jack?
- 33:43Speaker 7: Oh?
- 33:46Speaker 10: My man, he got it a little uh when he
- 33:49Speaker 10: said hey, You're like, oh hey, how you doing?
- 33:53Speaker 3: Jack came in third this week, buddy, Unfortunately, wow, third
- 33:57Speaker 3: this week. Yeah, the big talkers from last week coming
- 34:00Speaker 3: in third and fourth this week. As they rag as
- 34:04Speaker 3: they ragged my balls all week last week, there's a sign. Yeah,
- 34:08Speaker 3: you're signing something, no telling something?
- 34:10Speaker 1: All right?
- 34:11Speaker 3: One three or four? Deb? Go three? I mean three
- 34:15Speaker 3: is David from Winning Park. Hey David, how's it going, buddy?
- 34:18Speaker 2: I'm good, sir.
- 34:19Speaker 1: How about yourself doing good man?
- 34:21Speaker 3: Between myself and Deborah for a twenty five dollars gift
- 34:24Speaker 3: card to Frucker's Going Bar.
- 34:25Speaker 1: Who do you think had the best weekend? I am
- 34:28Speaker 1: going to.
- 34:28Speaker 2: Say that this is the week.
- 34:31Speaker 7: Week six is the week that.
- 34:32Speaker 1: Jimmy turns it around and comes in.
- 34:36Speaker 2: On top and doing it for.
- 34:38Speaker 3: The rest of the year. Not man, No, I came
- 34:44Speaker 3: in second. Oh second, say and second? So Deb, Sophie's
- 34:49Speaker 3: choice for you one or four? And I do not
- 34:52Speaker 3: have a name. I do not know who it is.
- 34:53Speaker 7: We're going four?
- 34:54Speaker 3: Four is Casey, Casey?
- 34:56Speaker 1: How you doing?
- 34:58Speaker 3: Hey, guys, how's it going?
- 34:59Speaker 1: You're doing great?
- 35:00Speaker 3: Hey buddy? Between Deb and Deb who do you leave
- 35:03Speaker 3: won this week's football picks? Deb is the winner. I
- 35:11Speaker 3: mean smoked it. This week. Deb had ten correct picks. Wow,
- 35:15Speaker 3: and she came in nineteenth. Overall, it was a very
- 35:18Speaker 3: weird week because, uh, there were well there were one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven,
- 35:25Speaker 3: fourteen people who tied for first, and then of course
- 35:29Speaker 3: they had their the points. Ross came in last. But
- 35:33Speaker 3: the thing is it's wild or it came in third,
- 35:35Speaker 3: but the wild thing was it last?
- 35:37Speaker 1: She came to the last.
- 35:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I was last, but myself, deb or myself, Jack
- 35:41Speaker 3: and Ross all had the same correct number, but it
- 35:44Speaker 3: was the points that kind of screwed us over.
- 35:46Speaker 7: Really.
- 35:46Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, we had one pick off one pick difference.
- 35:51Speaker 5: But and you almost won the whole thing this week
- 35:54Speaker 5: in our official, unofficial pool here at maybe not a
- 35:58Speaker 5: radio station or not, but yeah, you were one pick
- 36:02Speaker 5: away as well. You were very close to winning the
- 36:04Speaker 5: whole thing.
- 36:05Speaker 6: And I remember the last time you won, Ross, you
- 36:07Speaker 6: and I tied, but you beat me on points.
- 36:09Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, so, uh, I came in second and I
- 36:12Speaker 3: had nine picks correct with and I picked the game
- 36:15Speaker 3: last night at forty eight points and the total was
- 36:18Speaker 3: forty nine.
- 36:20Speaker 6: So who won the first one from last night's matchup?
- 36:24Speaker 1: The real question is Roy.
- 36:26Speaker 3: I don't know who he is.
- 36:27Speaker 1: Who is one yet? Okay, dude, who was a one yet? Yeah?
- 36:31Speaker 3: Yeah, jee Ryan, I'll give you one guess. I'll see
- 36:36Speaker 3: who that may be. We'll go dab and that is
- 36:39Speaker 3: killing it. I think that's winning.
- 36:41Speaker 1: Uh I won?
- 36:42Speaker 7: Well, I don't know about that.
- 36:44Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, you are you have the most You're you're
- 36:46Speaker 3: the biggest winner in the show right now.
- 36:48Speaker 1: Wow, you're like that manate Thanks Ryan, you know the
- 36:51Speaker 1: man picked the super Bowl all the time, but he
- 36:53Speaker 1: did very good at Soddy. I got some news for you.
- 36:55Speaker 6: What is it when you put like ross and my
- 36:58Speaker 6: beluga thighs and now we've got I am calling you amanate.
- 37:01Speaker 1: That was That was seven years ago, and I've never forgotten.
- 37:04Speaker 7: Like a proper woman.
- 37:06Speaker 1: You look like a manatee. But the only other one
- 37:08Speaker 1: I know is a lizard. That felt worse.
- 37:10Speaker 3: No, no, no, no, dude, no no, no, no, lizard
- 37:12Speaker 3: is worse than manatee.
- 37:14Speaker 1: Sure, let me just ask you a quick question.
- 37:17Speaker 3: How many years has even married? This will be easy,
- 37:19Speaker 3: But what are amnatees?
- 37:21Speaker 1: Manatees are mammals. Yeah, people love them. Let's go over
- 37:24Speaker 1: their body type. I mean they're sea cows. But that's
- 37:27Speaker 1: a cow. What was that word cow? Because a cow
- 37:29Speaker 1: can be beautiful? Yeah for sure.
- 37:32Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, man, they get a blowout. They're just like
- 37:35Speaker 3: gray boobs. Yeah, but nobody, you guys, seriously.
- 37:39Speaker 1: People like manateese.
- 37:40Speaker 3: Stop people. Yeah, I'm saving you from yourself. We're trying
- 37:45Speaker 3: to save the manatees.
- 37:46Speaker 1: Hell yeah, people saved the Manites. People love marnates. There's
- 37:49Speaker 1: way worse things to be than a manatee.
- 37:51Speaker 3: Are you at thirty seconds to make your point there?
- 37:53Speaker 3: You wanted to bitch about something in the in the pitts?
- 37:55Speaker 1: Go ahead, No, I was just saying.
- 37:56Speaker 5: Is that You're like, oh, this guy was the last place,
- 37:59Speaker 5: and I'm like.
- 38:00Speaker 1: We all tied yeaeah, yeah, we all.
- 38:02Speaker 5: Went down to the plumb points on the end of
- 38:05Speaker 5: Monday Night football.
- 38:06Speaker 1: But you were last though, right, yeah, because the points
- 38:09Speaker 1: you were last. I just I gott us.
- 38:10Speaker 5: I only talk to people who have won at least
- 38:12Speaker 5: one week quota.
- 38:21Speaker 1: Four. Yeah, nope, not that's regular teas.
- 38:27Speaker 3: I'll be the manate I want to be a manatee.
- 38:29Speaker 3: Al right four O seven nine one six four one
- 38:31Speaker 3: text seven seven zero three one ross. Did you get
- 38:33Speaker 3: a chance to watch.

- 39:42Speaker 1: What did you do? What did you do ThisDay?
- 39:47Speaker 3: I need tell us something.
- 39:52Speaker 1: That's right.
- 39:53Speaker 3: What you do that's new. Every single Tuesday here on
- 39:55Speaker 3: the show, one of the members of the show or
- 39:57Speaker 3: a listener will choose something for the other members to
- 39:59Speaker 3: watch for you or listen. We'll do that, we'll reconvene
- 40:01Speaker 3: on that following Tuesday, discuss it, and then move on
- 40:04Speaker 3: to the next member. This week, it was the listener's choice.
- 40:07Speaker 3: I have something for you in a few minutes so
- 40:09Speaker 3: Remy is a listener of our show, good dude to it.
- 40:11Speaker 3: He was actually cooking for us at the at the
- 40:14Speaker 3: Sunset Walk event the best of a Challenge. Chili did
- 40:17Speaker 3: a good job, very delicious chili, and so he we
- 40:20Speaker 3: put a Facebook post up every time that comes around
- 40:23Speaker 3: for the listeners, and Remy chose the Tower of Power
- 40:27Speaker 3: concert on NPR's Tiny Desk. Now. I love the Tiny
- 40:31Speaker 3: Desks series about Ryan. Are you a Tiny Desk guy?
- 40:33Speaker 1: Love it?
- 40:34Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 40:34Speaker 5: It's great, right, Yeah, you know what you do that's
- 40:37Speaker 5: new should just be around Tiny Desk because if you
- 40:40Speaker 5: don't know about it, we are talking about something that
- 40:43Speaker 5: could change your life.
- 40:44Speaker 1: Dude.
- 40:44Speaker 3: The Wet Leg show from Tiny Desk was as good
- 40:46Speaker 3: as it gets, so good. I mean, there are so
- 40:49Speaker 3: many great tiny leg or a tiny leg tiny Desk shows,
- 40:53Speaker 3: tiny legs, right, but as so many good shows, this
- 40:56Speaker 3: was a Tower of Power. I remember them as a
- 40:59Speaker 3: It's like a power funk soul band, right, That's kind
- 41:02Speaker 3: of what I remember. And I, you know, tuned in
- 41:05Speaker 3: saw the and saw it and that's exactly what it is.
- 41:07Speaker 3: You know what it reminded me of. It reminded me
- 41:09Speaker 3: of James Brown's backing band.
- 41:11Speaker 7: Oh see, it reminded me of War.
- 41:13Speaker 3: Oh did it really? Yeah?
- 41:14Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 41:14Speaker 3: Yeah? Did you see some of it?
- 41:16Speaker 1: Ross?
- 41:16Speaker 3: Yeah? Yeah, I just watched it.
- 41:18Speaker 5: On the break and it reminded me of the band
- 41:21Speaker 5: that works at SNL.
- 41:23Speaker 3: Oh really oh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah. Lots of noise, like,
- 41:26Speaker 3: lots of things going on, lots of saxes and trumpets
- 41:30Speaker 3: and you know, pianos, two or three guitars. It was crazy.
- 41:32Speaker 3: Did you happen to see any of it? Ryan, I
- 41:34Speaker 3: haven't seen this specific one.
- 41:36Speaker 1: Ross was playing it in the background, so it sounded good,
- 41:40Speaker 1: which is is the most important part.
- 41:42Speaker 3: But they do a good job at Tiny Desk doing
- 41:44Speaker 3: that whoever engineers the shows, because the room really isn't
- 41:46Speaker 3: that big, you know that. Have you ever seen a
- 41:48Speaker 3: shot from the from the performers aspect?
- 41:51Speaker 1: I have, and it's very Yeah. That's that's the nerd
- 41:53Speaker 1: part where I nerd out on these things because to
- 41:55Speaker 1: Mike that many things, especially if they're doing drums and
- 41:58Speaker 1: other stuff, stuff that would bleed over enough and there's
- 42:00Speaker 1: and they're not. There's no compression bleed or anything, so
- 42:02Speaker 1: it's it's fantastically well done. The one I saw recently
- 42:06Speaker 1: was like the was it Sesame Street?
- 42:08Speaker 8: Oh?
- 42:09Speaker 1: Yeah, they did one with the.
- 42:11Speaker 3: Muppets, Yeah, but it wasn't there a was there a
- 42:14Speaker 3: guest host on that one? I cannot remember.
- 42:16Speaker 1: I don't know. It was that it was so cool
- 42:17Speaker 1: to see them just do the puppets in a room
- 42:19Speaker 1: full of crowded people and children and stuff. And I
- 42:21Speaker 1: was watching that, I was like, is this ruining for
- 42:23Speaker 1: the kids?
- 42:23Speaker 6: Though?
- 42:23Speaker 1: If they can see all the.
- 42:24Speaker 3: I don't think they can see them though. Don't they
- 42:26Speaker 3: create like a facade there where they can they can't see.
- 42:29Speaker 1: You think the camera you couldn't see the pump the
- 42:31Speaker 1: pumpetteers of very different video.
- 42:33Speaker 3: Yeah, that's here for that.
- 42:37Speaker 1: Yeah. But when they get up and you know, after
- 42:41Speaker 1: the cameras are off, imagine they're they're seeing it. I
- 42:44Speaker 1: was like, maybe this is ruining their childhood. But like
- 42:46Speaker 1: my favorite ones are always like like Tee Paint. If
- 42:48Speaker 1: you see the t Paint one, great, he is such
- 42:50Speaker 1: a likable dude. The guy from Third Eye Blind, Third
- 42:53Speaker 1: Eye Blind did it one even and he's crazy. But
- 42:55Speaker 1: they had They had an amazing Tiny Desk concert in Florence,
- 42:58Speaker 1: and the Machine were my top favor.
- 43:00Speaker 3: Guy Steve and I forget what his last name is
- 43:01Speaker 3: as the lead singer Third Eye Blind. Somebody told me
- 43:04Speaker 3: that one of the rooms here in Orlando, one of
- 43:06Speaker 3: the bigger rooms when he played their years and years
- 43:08Speaker 3: and years ago, was the worst person.
- 43:10Speaker 1: He had ever Jenkins. Yeah, he's insane.
- 43:12Speaker 3: He was the worst human being he had ever encountered
- 43:15Speaker 3: his entire life. I want to say. He was the
- 43:17Speaker 3: stage manager for a House of Blues at the time.
- 43:20Speaker 3: This would have been fifteen, fifteen years ago, and he
- 43:23Speaker 3: said the guy was a tyrant of a human being.
- 43:26Speaker 1: They did the Orlando Music Festival back in the day
- 43:28Speaker 1: and the Third Eye Blind was the headliner, and everybody
- 43:31Speaker 1: came away stories of like, Steven Jenkins is the worst.
- 43:35Speaker 3: That cat is the poison.
- 43:37Speaker 1: Uh his third eye is blind? Yeahah, he can't. He
- 43:40Speaker 1: has no spiritual feelings.
- 43:41Speaker 3: I will tell you. The other one that was kind
- 43:42Speaker 3: of fun is Juvenile did a show.
- 43:45Speaker 1: D surprisingly good. Dude.
- 43:47Speaker 3: Juveniles was really really good. I didn't know what kind
- 43:50Speaker 3: of shape that cat was in. I haven't heard that
- 43:52Speaker 3: name in forever. I saw it pop up, I was like,
- 43:53Speaker 3: let's see it, and he killed it.
- 43:55Speaker 5: And so if you don't know what Tiny Desk is.
- 43:57Speaker 5: It's brought to you by and produced by MP. They
- 44:00Speaker 5: grab a band, they put it in what is it
- 44:03Speaker 5: like an office? It looks like an office space, and
- 44:05Speaker 5: they record a live special.
- 44:08Speaker 3: Taylor Swift did one. Yeah, I mean here's ago Taylor
- 44:11Speaker 3: Swift did one. So, I mean it's the biggest artist
- 44:13Speaker 3: out there. Do it. It's very cool. It's kind of
- 44:17Speaker 3: like the new you made it.
- 44:19Speaker 5: If you do a tiny Desk, you've hit a different
- 44:22Speaker 5: stratosphere that other entertainers have not entered.
- 44:26Speaker 3: Is it Nile Rodgers, the guy from Chic the guitar
- 44:30Speaker 3: player who wrote a lot of that? Is it? That?
- 44:32Speaker 1: Is that?
- 44:32Speaker 6: Who?
- 44:32Speaker 3: That is deb who wrote a lot of that stuff
- 44:33Speaker 3: for Chic the disco stuff back in the day? Aw
- 44:36Speaker 3: freak out.
- 44:37Speaker 5: I'm happy to say I know the answer to that,
- 44:39Speaker 5: and the answer is yes. And because I went down
- 44:43Speaker 5: to Niles Rogers wormhole when Daft Punk picks up on
- 44:46Speaker 5: him and started working with him.
- 44:47Speaker 3: Matter of fact, that's exactly like. So if you watch
- 44:50Speaker 3: the Niles rot Nile Rodgers one the NPR Tiny's NPR
- 44:53Speaker 3: dot org. By the way, I believe when you want
- 44:55Speaker 3: to check it out, there's some there's a really special
- 44:57Speaker 3: side thing that happens in there, and and the side
- 45:00Speaker 3: thing that happens in there is very fun because what
- 45:02Speaker 3: you don't realize is Niles Rogers band wrote that song
- 45:07Speaker 3: so Glow, soul Glow for Coming to America, the Eddie
- 45:12Speaker 3: Murphy movie. And when the guy has that, you know,
- 45:14Speaker 3: the the Afro sheen kind of stuff, the treatment for
- 45:18Speaker 3: African American hairdoos right right, it's that whatever that the
- 45:23Speaker 3: sheen is. It was called soul Glow in the movie,
- 45:26Speaker 3: and they played an entire like clip of soul Glow. Well,
- 45:29Speaker 3: that band does that song and the keyboard player is
- 45:32Speaker 3: the singer of that song, and they do it during
- 45:34Speaker 3: his tiny desk and it's crazy.
- 45:36Speaker 1: It sounds exactly like the movie.
- 45:38Speaker 3: Nice. So what did you say. I've never heard of
- 45:40Speaker 3: Tower of Power.
- 45:42Speaker 5: When you guys first said Tower of Power, I thought
- 45:45Speaker 5: of Goofy movie.
- 45:46Speaker 1: Yeah. No, I thought it was actually a backup band
- 45:48Speaker 1: power Line, Yeah, power Lines. Yeah.
- 45:49Speaker 3: I wasn't that far off. I thought it was like
- 45:51Speaker 3: a backup band for years. But I don't think that's
- 45:53Speaker 3: the case. But again, it's it's good music. It's again
- 45:56Speaker 3: it's it's like power funk soul kind of music. It
- 46:00Speaker 3: is like James Brown's backing band kind of thing.
- 46:03Speaker 1: It's good.
- 46:03Speaker 3: The thing for me is is a lot of it
- 46:05Speaker 3: sounds alike to me, like a lot of the songs
- 46:08Speaker 3: wind up kind of sounding alike.
- 46:10Speaker 1: So yeah, just that style. It's just that style.
- 46:14Speaker 3: I mean, you could probably make that argument with a
- 46:15Speaker 3: number of bands, but for some reason, this one just
- 46:18Speaker 3: kind of hit me as a bit monotonous. I love
- 46:20Speaker 3: the first like maybe twenty minutes of it, and then
- 46:22Speaker 3: after that I was like, oh, it's the same kind
- 46:23Speaker 3: of song, but still good.
- 46:25Speaker 1: Eighteen minutes long.
- 46:27Speaker 3: Well I watched half of it.
- 46:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I watched.
- 46:32Speaker 3: Half of it and then and then fast forward and
- 46:34Speaker 3: see if it was any different. It was the same stuff.
- 46:36Speaker 3: So uh, still good and very entertaining, very emotional driven music.
- 46:41Speaker 3: It makes you want to run out in like a
- 46:44Speaker 3: white T shirt while it's raining and just sing into
- 46:47Speaker 3: the into the clouds. That's whatever I hear, really yeah,
- 46:50Speaker 3: I get whenever I hear this music. I get like
- 46:55Speaker 3: DiAngelo music video real fast. So do you just say
- 46:59Speaker 3: that what he died today?
- 47:02Speaker 1: He did not Angelo.
- 47:04Speaker 7: I died today, fifty.
- 47:06Speaker 3: One years old. It's amazing you dropped that and did
- 47:08Speaker 3: not know that. Yeah, D'Angelo died pancreatic cancer. He'd been
- 47:11Speaker 3: fighting it for a while or not a while. Pancreatic
- 47:13Speaker 3: takes up pretty early, but yeah, he'd fought pancreatic cancer.
- 47:17Speaker 1: And you just killed D'Angelo.
- 47:19Speaker 5: I haven't said the word thought of wow, name di'angelo.
- 47:26Speaker 3: Front page news this morning in a decade.
- 47:29Speaker 5: I've been busy all morning. I haven't looked at a
- 47:31Speaker 5: computer screen.
- 47:31Speaker 3: I'm not dogging you, I know.
- 47:33Speaker 1: I just seemed kind of blown away with my powers.
- 47:36Speaker 5: Yeah, all right, so I've got a little something.
- 47:39Speaker 3: Thanks for me, by the way, we appreciate the heads up.
- 47:40Speaker 3: And you're gonna tell you that real quick.
- 47:42Speaker 1: Just on that topic of soul music, because I hit
- 47:44Speaker 1: a rabbit hole that I'm so glad I hit. And look,
- 47:48Speaker 1: say what you want about AI. Okay, like AI music
- 47:51Speaker 1: is going to be controversial. But this dude on YouTube
- 47:55Speaker 1: named the Professor started to take in like rock songs
- 47:58Speaker 1: and turning them into soul songs. And I just like
- 48:01Speaker 1: heard corns Freak on a Leash as a soul song.
- 48:04Speaker 1: Just check it. Just a quick clip of that's like, yeah.
- 48:06Speaker 3: Sure I've heard I just heard this down to another
- 48:09Speaker 3: song that great and it's going to uber viral. Yeah,
- 48:13Speaker 3: it's it's wacky. How good this is? Though, something takes dude,
- 48:20Speaker 3: something else.
- 48:22Speaker 1: Never it's too good.
- 48:26Speaker 3: Time to lose Ai.
- 48:28Speaker 1: This is all. AI's not a real voice.
- 48:31Speaker 5: And this is unprecedented to me because I've never enjoyed
- 48:36Speaker 5: an AI song until this went viral.
- 48:39Speaker 3: Yeah. Well the mashups with the beat there being the
- 48:42Speaker 3: same that went around for a while. That was great.
- 48:44Speaker 3: That's crazy, dude.
- 48:45Speaker 1: Yeah, it's too good. And I'm a hater of AI music,
- 48:48Speaker 1: even though like I make it, I'll do it. I'm
- 48:49Speaker 1: rejoins for sometimes with the Monsters because it's quick and
- 48:51Speaker 1: it's fast and dirty. But I don't like I know
- 48:53Speaker 1: that there's songs that have been released like that, but
- 48:55Speaker 1: like I've missed out on soul music. Like, to be honest,
- 48:58Speaker 1: it fully missed me. And I must have listened to
- 49:00Speaker 1: fifteen of these AI songs and then started listening to
- 49:02Speaker 1: soul music. I f in love.
- 49:05Speaker 3: It, dude. That is get down music. You know. Hell yeah,
- 49:07Speaker 3: how's your girl feel about it? Yeah, dude, that's that's
- 49:12Speaker 3: a great I mean, after six o'clock some bourbon there
- 49:15Speaker 3: aint nothing in the world like some soul music.
- 49:16Speaker 5: Sip some bourbon, put on my gators and start cutting
- 49:19Speaker 5: a rug.
- 49:19Speaker 4: Wat.
- 49:22Speaker 3: I learned a little new about Ryan Holmes. Had no
- 49:24Speaker 3: idea it was a soul man. I love it.
- 49:26Speaker 1: Yeah, like as somebody who know, like I, I there's
- 49:30Speaker 1: too of I for you guys, always in silence, never
- 49:33Speaker 1: put on music while I'm getting down. And since I
- 49:35Speaker 1: found out about soul music, the entire weekend was great. Yeah.
- 49:39Speaker 3: Really, you're a silent banger.
- 49:42Speaker 1: I always have been. Really, I get taken out of it,
- 49:44Speaker 1: like I'll start humming along. Definitely been a problem when
- 49:48Speaker 1: I do start mouthing the lyrics.
- 49:50Speaker 7: Oh my god, that's even worse.
- 49:51Speaker 1: I know.
- 49:52Speaker 6: Oh no, So it's got to be a dark scenario too, right,
- 49:57Speaker 6: You ever been in this?
- 49:57Speaker 1: Yeah, no lights on, no, no sigh, snow lights on,
- 50:01Speaker 1: like we're in a cave man hiding from bears. You're
- 50:04Speaker 1: in time out.
- 50:04Speaker 3: Yeah that sounds so properly Protestant.
- 50:08Speaker 1: It's the way to go, and right has time out sex.
- 50:10Speaker 3: Yeah, it's all missionary at the corner. That style.
- 50:14Speaker 5: It's not good too, because we're in the YouTube generation,
- 50:16Speaker 5: so you'll put on music via YouTube. So and then
- 50:19Speaker 5: halfway through you get like a like a weird Musinex
- 50:22Speaker 5: commercial recruited by Ice every time.
- 50:24Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, hold on, I gotta skip ad.
- 50:29Speaker 1: Ice ads. I get horny.
- 50:30Speaker 3: It's I gotta get bang to a bun jorno bit now.
- 50:34Speaker 1: And then you have to wait forty five seconds to skip.
- 50:36Speaker 3: In ads And now you're just standing naked. And for us,
- 50:38Speaker 3: it's like we'll be letting in bed. Then of course,
- 50:40Speaker 3: all of a sudden you'll start kind of caressing each other.
- 50:42Speaker 3: It will start happening. Half of my sex happ happens
- 50:45Speaker 3: to paused ninety D fiance like where watching and then
- 50:50Speaker 3: we pause it. Yeah, and then that's the still shot
- 50:52Speaker 3: of that is what I get. So it's some dude
- 50:54Speaker 3: mid slap. Yeah, our's a lot of love is blind.
- 50:57Speaker 3: But yeah, oh my wife loves that one too. Dude,
- 51:00Speaker 3: have you watched it all this weason? Let me tell
- 51:02Speaker 3: you some people are the worst ones I've ever picked.
- 51:03Speaker 3: Let me tell you, man, it's wild. I've said this
- 51:06Speaker 3: a thousand times. You'll start like I'll be on my
- 51:09Speaker 3: phone my wife or with the show. We have a
- 51:11Speaker 3: and I'm gonna talk about this a little bit later,
- 51:12Speaker 3: but we have an agreement. Like there's a story I
- 51:14Speaker 3: have today about a guy who gets super pissed off
- 51:16Speaker 3: because his wife doesn't watch football with him. Writer, His
- 51:18Speaker 3: girlfriend doesn't watch football, and my wife hates football as well.
- 51:22Speaker 3: But she will lay there and let me play with
- 51:24Speaker 3: her hair and you know, or do whatever while we
- 51:26Speaker 3: watch football. But we have we have a one to
- 51:30Speaker 3: one TV ratio agreement that if I get to watch
- 51:33Speaker 3: an entire day of football, that means whatever she chooses
- 51:36Speaker 3: hour by hour to watch, I have to just deal
- 51:38Speaker 3: with it. And that's kind of how we deal with
- 51:40Speaker 3: the breaking up the TV stuff. Okay, a lot of
- 51:43Speaker 3: guys don't have that, Like they don't like doing that.
- 51:46Speaker 3: Like your wife wants to watch football with you, A
- 51:49Speaker 3: lot of guys don't even like that.
- 51:50Speaker 1: I love it.
- 51:51Speaker 3: My wife's hangs out watch football with me.
- 51:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm very much a believer in the mirroring whatever
- 51:57Speaker 1: I'm doing that seems to help. Like, so even though
- 52:00Speaker 1: she's not paying attention to me when I'm in watching
- 52:02Speaker 1: you hear whatever, it's like that she's there right as
- 52:04Speaker 1: he's not hanging out.
- 52:05Speaker 3: The presence matters. All Right, I'm gonna give your what
- 52:08Speaker 3: you to do this soon for next week. You're gonna
- 52:09Speaker 3: love it. You ready, yes, just getting just kidding, all right,
- 52:18Speaker 3: just getting premature. I get so excited premature. Did you
- 52:20Speaker 3: open in some soul music?
- 52:22Speaker 1: That's how my son happened?
- 52:25Speaker 3: All right, you ready? All right? I think this is
- 52:28Speaker 3: the most important hip hop band ever. This is my opinion.
- 52:33Speaker 1: Oh no, Blackhound Gang.
- 52:34Speaker 3: No, I am punching you and your beard as soon
- 52:38Speaker 3: as we get done with this segment, A swift punch
- 52:40Speaker 3: to the beard. This is the most important hip hop
- 52:43Speaker 3: band ever. According to Jim Colwart, I want you to
- 52:47Speaker 3: listen to it. Takes a nation of millions to hold
- 52:49Speaker 3: us back by public enemy. Okay, it is when you
- 52:54Speaker 3: got to remember this record was made and I believe
- 52:56Speaker 3: eighty four or five or six something like that in
- 52:59Speaker 3: the mid eighties, and it is a It is an
- 53:03Speaker 3: album of pure rebellion. And if you want to hear that,
- 53:08Speaker 3: what I think hip hop started as, and this is
- 53:10Speaker 3: what rock and roll would have started as, is a
- 53:12Speaker 3: music of rebellion. I think Chuck d has the best
- 53:15Speaker 3: hip hop voice of all time, and I do believe
- 53:17Speaker 3: he's one of the better lyricists of all time. But
- 53:19Speaker 3: because of the nature of their hip hop. It doesn't
- 53:21Speaker 3: have a lot of bass or anything like that in it.
- 53:23Speaker 3: It is just very street and I want you to
- 53:26Speaker 3: listen to it. It takes a nation of millions to
- 53:28Speaker 3: hold us back by the great public enemy. That's my
- 53:31Speaker 3: that's my suggestion for next week.
- 53:33Speaker 1: All right, all right, four.
- 53:34Speaker 3: Oh seven nine one six one four one text us
- 53:36Speaker 3: at seven seven zero three one. Grady Judd is in
- 53:39Speaker 3: a little trouble. We love Grady, we love the thermist
- 53:41Speaker 3: stories from Grady, but this one is a little bit,
- 53:45Speaker 3: a little bit different for Grady. I'll explain next.
- 53:57Speaker 9: Proudly sponsored since day one by Glenn Clausman, Boston Law
- 54:00Speaker 9: dot Com.
- 54:02Speaker 3: Hi, all right, welcome back to the Jim Cobra Show,
- 54:30Speaker 3: Real Radio one oh four point one. Your four o'clock
- 54:34Speaker 3: keyword is bank, B, A and K. Just slide over
- 54:36Speaker 3: to Real Radio dot FM and send that offer your
- 54:38Speaker 3: chance at one thousand dollars bank. Guys, that is your
- 54:41Speaker 3: four o'clock keyword. Good luck. We hope you win. For sure.
- 54:44Speaker 3: We need a winner, man, Yeah we did. I'm Jim.
- 54:47Speaker 3: There's deb hell right Holmes in today, Hey and Ross Paja. Hey,
- 54:52Speaker 3: have you guys been to Halloween? Harnight yet any of
- 54:54Speaker 3: you guys I did?
- 54:55Speaker 1: I went over the weekend? Did you really? It was fantastic?
- 54:57Speaker 3: What did you think was a pack one night?
- 54:59Speaker 1: Did you go? Oh? Did I want Saturday Night?
- 55:01Speaker 3: You know?
- 55:01Speaker 1: Because Universal gave us those tickets, and they gave us
- 55:03Speaker 1: that sweet express pass, which is the only way to
- 55:06Speaker 1: do that.
- 55:07Speaker 3: I don't know that you could do it without it.
- 55:08Speaker 1: I mean I was looking at some of those lines
- 55:10Speaker 1: that said one hundred and twenty minutes. I was getting
- 55:12Speaker 1: in there in about twenty.
- 55:13Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, it was.
- 55:14Speaker 1: It was. It was a nice and the houses they
- 55:17Speaker 1: really like upgraded this year. There was like full on
- 55:20Speaker 1: animatronics in those things. This time there was like one
- 55:23Speaker 1: of them ended with a giant animatronic monster that audibly
- 55:26Speaker 1: made me freak out. Oh really, I'll walk through a
- 55:28Speaker 1: haunted house all day long, no problem, if you're gonna
- 55:30Speaker 1: jump scare me. But to have a giant monster sort
- 55:33Speaker 1: of come alive at you when you're not expecting that
- 55:35Speaker 1: level of technicality, it was. It was impressive. A nice man,
- 55:39Speaker 1: I love it. Ross. Did you have to go already?
- 55:41Speaker 1: No you haven't. I haven't.
- 55:43Speaker 5: No, I've gone every year for like the last bajillion
- 55:47Speaker 5: years and it just you know, had a kid.
- 55:49Speaker 3: Probably their pains I have not gone. Yeah, well I
- 55:54Speaker 3: wish you the best to go because my wife went
- 55:55Speaker 3: on Sunday night said it was a blast.
- 55:57Speaker 1: That's awesome.
- 55:58Speaker 3: The Terrifier house, I guess has a wet and dry path. Yeah,
- 56:01Speaker 3: we learned that there was no dry path. Oh really,
- 56:04Speaker 3: somebody said that's a fallacy. There is no dry path.
- 56:08Speaker 3: All the paths are wet. I don't know how accurate
- 56:11Speaker 3: that is or not, but yeah, that's what I heard,
- 56:13Speaker 3: all right, four oh seven again nine four one text
- 56:16Speaker 3: seven seven zero three one. So the case I was
- 56:18Speaker 3: telling you guys about Grady Judd, that has even a
- 56:21Speaker 3: little bit of trouble. And I say trouble, all trouble
- 56:24Speaker 3: is relative when lawsuits are involved, because you never know
- 56:26Speaker 3: who or what is going to happen. But a while back,
- 56:30Speaker 3: and I'm waiting for my uh my machine to boot
- 56:32Speaker 3: back up here, But a while back, blow on, a
- 56:35Speaker 3: girl named Taylor Cadle was wrongfully accused of lying about
- 56:39Speaker 3: her rape. Okay, she was adopted by a couple when
- 56:45Speaker 3: she was nine years old, just under nine years old
- 56:48Speaker 3: in twenty twelve. I guess it was her uncle, Henry
- 56:52Speaker 3: I identified as Henry Cadle, began inappropriately touching her. Now
- 56:56Speaker 3: she was in a foster home before this. Right with
- 56:59Speaker 3: the abuse that slated to rape several times over the
- 57:02Speaker 3: next few years. She kept quiet about the abuse because
- 57:05Speaker 3: she didn't want to go back to foster care. If
- 57:07Speaker 3: you ever wondered how awesome foster care is. She took
- 57:10Speaker 3: rape from her uncle instead of going back until twenty
- 57:16Speaker 3: sixteen when she reported what was going on to her
- 57:18Speaker 3: church minister's wife. So she went to the person she
- 57:21Speaker 3: thought she could trust, her church minister and his wife. Right.
- 57:25Speaker 3: I don't know if you say that to a man
- 57:26Speaker 3: as a sixteen year old girl, but she trusted the
- 57:29Speaker 3: wife and brought her to the side. The wife contacted
- 57:32Speaker 3: law enforcement. Right, So law enforcement goes through a month's
- 57:37Speaker 3: long investigation. The detective assigned the case decided there wasn't
- 57:42Speaker 3: enough evidence to support a criminal charge against Henry. But
- 57:45Speaker 3: here's what they did do. They investigated the guy and said, well,
- 57:49Speaker 3: we don't think he did anything. We think she's lying
- 57:52Speaker 3: to us, and they started filing charges on her. On
- 57:57Speaker 3: the girl, the child who was saying that she was
- 57:59Speaker 3: being raped by her uncle. The victim. The aunt Taylor
- 58:04Speaker 3: Catle's aunt, which would have been Henry's wife, pushed her
- 58:07Speaker 3: to plead guilty to quote get the case over with.
- 58:10Speaker 3: At thirteen years old, she pled guilty to giving false
- 58:13Speaker 3: information to a law enforcement officer, landing her on probation
- 58:17Speaker 3: and keeping her with the Cato family, including the guy
- 58:20Speaker 3: who was raping her. Bit it gets better slash worse.
- 58:26Speaker 3: She knew he was going to do it again, and
- 58:28Speaker 3: he lived up to the expectations this time, though she
- 58:31Speaker 3: was recording.
- 58:32Speaker 5: I am so confused on whether or not this has
- 58:36Speaker 5: actually happened or not.
- 58:37Speaker 3: Who's the lyne? Okay, hold on, I'm so this is okay,
- 58:40Speaker 3: hold on, hold on, first jeopardy, edge of my seat. Still, Hey,
- 58:43Speaker 3: this is you know Poul County. So Grady Judd is
- 58:45Speaker 3: the sheriff of Polk County. Of course we always quote ready,
- 58:47Speaker 3: we just talked about him last week with a Thermos scenario, right,
- 58:50Speaker 3: and this was two detectives that he assigned to this case.
- 58:54Speaker 3: They investigated the case her her claim that her uncle
- 58:57Speaker 3: was raping her. Not only did they not find the
- 59:00Speaker 3: evidence to support that argument, they actually started investigating her
- 59:03Speaker 3: and came up with a theory that she was lying
- 59:05Speaker 3: about it. Then they basically pressed charges on her. She lied,
- 59:10Speaker 3: She confessed to lying even though she didn't.
- 59:15Speaker 1: Yeah right, I'm looking at the news story from Channel six,
- 59:18Speaker 1: and they have her confession like it's written out like
- 59:22Speaker 1: by like a child.
- 59:23Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, because she's a child. She was thirteen years old.
- 59:25Speaker 1: Yeah, with like kind of bubble letters.
- 59:27Speaker 3: Yeah, and it says, dear dad, I'm sorry for what
- 59:29Speaker 3: I did.
- 59:29Speaker 1: I didn't stop to think about my consequences of my actions.
- 59:32Speaker 1: My god.
- 59:33Speaker 4: Man.
- 59:33Speaker 3: Less than a month after that happened after she admitted
- 59:37Speaker 3: that Henry Cable raped her again, but this time the
- 59:40Speaker 3: girl secret really recorded the incident via video footage and photographs.
- 59:44Speaker 3: That same night, she called nine to one one to
- 59:46Speaker 3: report the rape. He admitted to being with her in
- 59:50Speaker 3: the photographs. The sheriff's office moved to withdraw her guilty
- 59:53Speaker 3: plea and vacate her probation.
- 59:55Speaker 1: The lawsuit continued, you didn't charge her with making child pornography.
- 59:58Speaker 3: Yeah, upon, that's so crazy. Upon being shown the video
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: in pictures, he confirmed it was him in the pictures
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: and then said, she set me up.
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: This guy sucks.
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: She set me up. This guy's got to be in
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: his I mean at that time she was probably he
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: was in his sixties. He was ultimately sentenced in twenty
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: nineteen to seventeen years in prison for sexual battery. And
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: of course, she is suing everybody near Orange County Sheriff's
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: or a Polk County shared department. She's suing the detectives
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: along with Henry Cable and Sheriff Grady Judd, for unlawful practices.
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: Taking particular aim at Grady Judd and his policies. She says,
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: quote Sheriff Judd knowingly encouraged and authorized members of the
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: Polk County Sheriff's Department to disregard and violate constitutional and
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: Fourth Amendment rights of victims, particularly miners, with his quote
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: tough on crime rhetoric and criminalization of miners for making
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: false statements. It also argues the detectives weren't properly trained
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: on how to approach child sexual abuse cases. Whoa man
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: lawsuit seeks money judgments against Henry Catle, judge and the
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: other two detectives who are involved in the case. I'm
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: guessing this will settle quickly. What do you think that's worth?
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: Out of curiosity, what do you think it's worth for somebody,
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: a child, for the record to be disregarded by police
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: department after claiming she'd been raped at twelve years old.
- 1:01:28Speaker 5: When did this news story break, like, I'm sorry to
- 1:01:32Speaker 5: be underneath a rock right now?
- 1:01:34Speaker 6: Twenty nineteen and actually twenty seventeen was when the attack occurred. Yeah,
- 1:01:38Speaker 6: twenty nineteen was when he was sentenced to seventeen years
- 1:01:42Speaker 6: in prison.
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: Is the news story that she is suing?
- 1:01:45Speaker 7: Yeah, that's the news story right, Like.
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: That's the new chapter of this whole story.
- 1:01:51Speaker 5: Yep, yeah, man, that is You've got plenty of grounds
- 1:01:55Speaker 5: to sue on that one.
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: Would you like to hear Putt the Polk County Sheriff's
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: departm It's response, Oh oh, I just read it.
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: My god.
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: Unfortunately, in today's highly litigious society, lawyers will file frivolous
- 1:02:08Speaker 3: lawsuits for just about anything, including second guessing nine year
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: old criminal investigations, and then run to the news media
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: attempting to get publicity for their lawsuit.
- 1:02:18Speaker 7: Not a good luck, Grady.
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: In this case, our deputies did an extensive investigation and
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: made deliberate and rational decisions based on the information and
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: evidence we had at the time, we look forward to
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: vigorously defending against these baseless and fabricated allegations. What's I
- 1:02:36Speaker 3: would like to know the fabricated part. Where's the fabrication? Yeah,
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: it was, I mean they don't say that, right, They
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: don't really say with the fabrication.
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: I thought she made a false confession saying that she
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: was lying. Yeah, this happens a lot where like, especially
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: if you're a child in a room like that. It's
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: so like they know they can get confessions out of people.
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: They know how to do it. So they wanted her
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: to confess that she made it up. The story. They
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: got her to write it down and her childlike Bubba
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: letters that she made it up and that she was sorry.
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: And that's what they're saying.
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: She fabricated, like and so coursing he's in prison for
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: seventeen years. She didn't lie about anything.
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: Yeah, but that. But that's after they she put that
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: like this never happened, my bad. So then the guy she.
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: Thinks to stay away from the foster home.
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: No, this is the way I'm.
- 1:03:19Speaker 5: So yeah, No, how I'm reading this is that it
- 1:03:22Speaker 5: kind of seems like she got course to go ahead
- 1:03:25Speaker 5: and say sorry, I.
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: At a very young age until she hit record.
- 1:03:32Speaker 7: Yeah, and that changes everything.
- 1:03:34Speaker 5: But what I want to know is how in the
- 1:03:36Speaker 5: world does she feel at the hands of the authority
- 1:03:41Speaker 5: to not still feel like she can tell the truth
- 1:03:44Speaker 5: because she's still being forced and coursed at some point
- 1:03:48Speaker 5: from some entity to write that confession and say sorry
- 1:03:51Speaker 5: that I lied. And if you're in the hands of
- 1:03:54Speaker 5: the authority, why does that message even come close to happening?
- 1:03:59Speaker 6: Well, my question is, yeah, maybe their investigation was thorough
- 1:04:04Speaker 6: before she hit record. After she hit record, your investigation
- 1:04:09Speaker 6: is moot. Yeah, So for what seven, five or six
- 1:04:13Speaker 6: years later to come out and stand on what your
- 1:04:16Speaker 6: detectives found when basically, like you were saying, ross, they
- 1:04:20Speaker 6: coerced a twelve year old foster child to say that
- 1:04:23Speaker 6: the attacks were not happening and that she lied. Only
- 1:04:27Speaker 6: until she hit record, that story wouldn't have changed. So
- 1:04:30Speaker 6: I don't know what leg they're standing on. That's my question.
- 1:04:35Speaker 6: For a group of grown ass men to say that
- 1:04:38Speaker 6: she fabricated but their detectives did everything right and she's
- 1:04:41Speaker 6: still on the wrong, Well, I've got some big questions.
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:04:44Speaker 5: Yeah, So that moment happens, and that's the most flagrant
- 1:04:48Speaker 5: part about this is that she goes up with like, hey,
- 1:04:51Speaker 5: this is happening to me, and then the end result.
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: Is no, it's not.
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: No it's not, and the iron.
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: You have to say that it's not and then then
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: it yeah.
- 1:05:00Speaker 5: Yeah, man, that is castically failure on all levels.
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: I think the irony here is that isn't Polk County
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: one of the first counties to step up when they
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: bust a bunch of child predators. Yeah, and you know,
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: and post their pictures all over the internet. Press conferences, Yeah,
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: the whole press conference thing. We got them, bust them.
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: They name these investigations a really cute name and stuff,
- 1:05:22Speaker 3: you know, and we support them doing that. Look at this,
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: but when you make a mistake, you gotta just say
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: you made a mistake and eat it. This is a
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: twelve year old foster child already dealt a really terrible
- 1:05:33Speaker 3: hand in life, and now that's the deal with this.
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: The person that she was looking for to kind of
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: quote save her from the boster homes winds up raping
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: her before she's thirteen years old. The cops don't believe her,
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: which is standard Well I shouldn't say that, it's standard
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: issue for automatically the victims to almost be second guests.
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: That seems to be like standard issue, just move forward,
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: second guess it.
- 1:05:57Speaker 6: I mean, this case illustrates it as much as any other.
- 1:06:00Speaker 6: Right when a twelve year old child is, you know,
- 1:06:02Speaker 6: looking to every authority a figure in her life, from
- 1:06:06Speaker 6: the pastor's wife, you know, her foster mom, the sheriff's office,
- 1:06:10Speaker 6: everyone that we tell children to go to if you're
- 1:06:13Speaker 6: in an unsafe situation, and every single one of those
- 1:06:16Speaker 6: people failed her.
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: You wonder if these guys settle after making a statement
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: like that, the unfortunately in today's litigious society, well if
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: they wind up settling this case, I don't know how
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: you win this at court. I wish I had had
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: Ray here. I don't know how you win this case.
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: I don't know if you do. But if you do.
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: The sad part is in Florida, you can only assume
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: municipalities and I think police departments for up to like
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: two hundred thousand dollars max.
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: Yeah, but I mean if you're doing that for and
- 1:06:38Speaker 3: that's why they're naming the guy Cable lame, Yeah, exactly,
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: so that would be eight hundred k if they if
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: they want against everybody.
- 1:06:44Speaker 6: Also, somebody just texted us at seven seven zero three
- 1:06:47Speaker 6: one the irony of Grady Judd saying that they go
- 1:06:50Speaker 6: to the media for publicity when he does that all
- 1:06:53Speaker 6: the time.
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: We just played as sound clips last week with the
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: thermist do he literally plays these local stations like a
- 1:06:58Speaker 3: guitar exactly. I mean, every time it happens, he's up there.
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: Look again, I don't have any problem with Grady Judd.
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: This is a mistake.
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: I don't you by the entire department. This is a mistake.
- 1:07:07Speaker 6: Well, my problem with Grady Judd is that he is
- 1:07:09Speaker 6: at the top. He is at the top, and like
- 1:07:12Speaker 6: you've said just a few minutes ago, they love busting
- 1:07:15Speaker 6: the child sex predators and God bless them for doing it.
- 1:07:18Speaker 7: Yeah, but don't turn your back on this case, it says.
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: As for the two deputies named in the lawsuit, the
- 1:07:23Speaker 3: Sheriff's Office say that they are still employed by the agency.
- 1:07:26Speaker 3: Quote they continue to honorably put their lives on the
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: line to protect citizens of Polk County from harm and
- 1:07:32Speaker 3: hold criminals accountable. All of that doesn't really add up, though,
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: it really doesn't. I mean, you make up those samements
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: you want, but that dude didn't prison so we know
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: for a fact he did it.
- 1:07:41Speaker 6: But we know that because she hit record as a
- 1:07:44Speaker 6: young child, she had the wherewithals to recognize that they
- 1:07:47Speaker 6: weren't going to listen to her voice, but they would
- 1:07:49Speaker 6: listen to videos.
- 1:07:50Speaker 3: They failed her so bad she had to take it
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: upon herself to get a conviction.
- 1:07:55Speaker 7: To get evidence.
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: This is why I don't like when positions like this
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: are elected positions, because you to save your career politically,
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: you have to kind of come out against it. Where
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: I think there's nothing wrong with Grady Judge going this
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: fell through the cracks.
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: Yes, yes, that's what I'm going to.
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: Continue to be a leader. I'm going to be a
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: better leader because of this. But this fell through the
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: cracks and we're gonna do everything we can to rectify it.
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: I know there's legally that has to happen. I don't
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: think Grady Judge needs to lose his job. This stuff
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: has every department all over the country, all over the world.
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: But you it's okay to go, Hey, there was mistakes
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: that were made and we're gonna we're gonna do everything.
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: But this has this has that same vibe as the
- 1:08:34Speaker 3: youth pastor that rails against sexual predators and stuffing that
- 1:08:37Speaker 3: winds up being a sexual predator. This kind of rail,
- 1:08:40Speaker 3: This kind of feels like that, and you know somebody
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: out there shouting and screaming about, you know, busting sexual predators.
- 1:08:44Speaker 3: And they do. They do a great job, matter of fact.
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: But I just think recently they had another cask of
- 1:08:48Speaker 3: them out there doing that. But you can't look, you
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: can't do stuff like this.
- 1:08:53Speaker 6: No, you can't do this and believe that you're really
- 1:08:55Speaker 6: out there looking out for the victim.
- 1:08:56Speaker 5: I think the the bummer part Ryan for me is
- 1:08:59Speaker 5: that like that was the opportunity for him to come
- 1:09:02Speaker 5: out and say, like this one went through the cracks.
- 1:09:05Speaker 5: But I would also agree is like yazig instead of
- 1:09:08Speaker 5: zagged on that one, because that was a great time
- 1:09:11Speaker 5: for some accountability.
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: If that is the case.
- 1:09:14Speaker 5: Granted, I'm sure that there are some details I would think,
- 1:09:17Speaker 5: you know, I read the same news story.
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: I would think there's a lot more complexities to this thing.
- 1:09:22Speaker 5: But man, just I had ac lismic failure on a
- 1:09:26Speaker 5: lot of different levels, including the response to me.
- 1:09:28Speaker 3: I can only hope that if this does go to settle,
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: or if it does go to trial or whatever the
- 1:09:33Speaker 3: case may be. That part of the settlement is a
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: formal apology from the Polk County Chrieff's department on this
- 1:09:40Speaker 3: kind of scenario. I mean, look, here's the thing. The detectives,
- 1:09:43Speaker 3: I guess could have done an exhaustive investigation have not
- 1:09:45Speaker 3: found anything. If there was no evidence, no physical evidence,
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: no semen in underwear or anything like that that she
- 1:09:51Speaker 3: had possession of, no photographs, no audio tape, it probably
- 1:09:54Speaker 3: would be very difficult to do that. But I don't
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: know about a rape kid on a twelve year old. Now,
- 1:09:58Speaker 3: let me ask a quick question and listen, I don't
- 1:10:00Speaker 3: mean to be graphic here. I'll just ask the question,
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: if a twelve year old has sex with a grown
- 1:10:05Speaker 3: ass man, would a doctor be able to kind of
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: tell that outside of the hymen being broken? But that
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: could happen in a bunch of different ways. Absolutely, Yeah,
- 1:10:13Speaker 3: that could be riding a bicycle, that could happen. So
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: would there be a physical way that a doctor could
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: tell that a child twelve years old or so had
- 1:10:21Speaker 3: had sex with a grown man. Yeah, there would be
- 1:10:24Speaker 3: throw a rate kit scenario. Yeah, because because I don't
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: know how the body reacts to that. I'm not just
- 1:10:28Speaker 3: trying to be a stupid person here, but I don't
- 1:10:30Speaker 3: know how that. I don't know, I don't know.
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: Depending on how long it is, there's always some version
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: of bruising to it or tearing or something.
- 1:10:37Speaker 3: Even if you're like tissue damage.
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: If you're having like even normals two adults are having sex,
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: Like if you go to guynecollegist. The next day they
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: go in there and they like, oh, you had sex
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: last night, they totally know it, right, right, right, so
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: one hundred percent, yeah, all.
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: Right, four oh seven nine one six one four one
- 1:10:51Speaker 3: text us seven to seven zero through one up against
- 1:10:54Speaker 3: the break. You're four o'clock, Heyward his bank B A

- 1:11:19Speaker 3: eight minutes or so is bank B A n K.

- 1:11:23Speaker 3: that away for your chance in a thousand Bucks. I'm Jim.
- 1:11:26Speaker 3: There's deb and Ryan Holmes in today he and Ross
- 1:11:29Speaker 3: as well. God bless a pumpkin spice latte. You know,
- 1:11:31Speaker 3: I just went and read more of this lawsuit because
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: they actually have the lawsuit on the website. This is
- 1:11:37Speaker 3: a click Orlando dot com channel six here locally WKMG.
- 1:11:41Speaker 3: And apparently one of the detectives was a was a female.
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: Does that change it for you, guys in any way,
- 1:11:47Speaker 3: shape or form. Does that make it worse that one
- 1:11:49Speaker 3: of the detectives was a woman. Not for me, No,
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: if depth said the same exact thing. For me, it
- 1:11:55Speaker 3: seems like it should have been, you know, kind of
- 1:11:57Speaker 3: a woman looking out for a little girl.
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: A woman.
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: It would seem like it would be almost matriarchal that
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: you would want to protect or at least assume that
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: it could be true.
- 1:12:06Speaker 6: Yeah, but unfortunately, I know there's a lot of crime
- 1:12:10Speaker 6: that wear down a lot of investigators, but sex crime
- 1:12:12Speaker 6: seems to be.
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: A little extra yea worse.
- 1:12:15Speaker 6: I mean, when you meet a sex crime investigator, they
- 1:12:19Speaker 6: just look like there's so little of their soul that
- 1:12:21Speaker 6: is left because of the things that they have to
- 1:12:23Speaker 6: hear and investigate.
- 1:12:25Speaker 7: It sounds harsh, but yeah, yeah.
- 1:12:27Speaker 6: Somebody did text in at seven seven zero three one though,
- 1:12:30Speaker 6: and said that as a former detective working sex crimes,
- 1:12:34Speaker 6: these detectives could have conducted a controlled phone call with
- 1:12:37Speaker 6: the suspect and the victim, but that's okay. They left
- 1:12:40Speaker 6: the victim to use her own cell phone to record
- 1:12:42Speaker 6: the attack.
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: Right, yeah, yeah, at twelve. He started touching her at
- 1:12:45Speaker 3: nine years old as an adopted father. Basically he was
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: a patriarch excuse me at paternal uncle and adopted her
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: so that she could get out of foster home. She
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: spent about a year and a half in foster homes
- 1:12:57Speaker 3: and then started touching her like at nine years old,
- 1:13:00Speaker 3: and then started having sex with her a couple of
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: years after that. And when he was asked, by the way,
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: this is the Henry Cable guy, the guy who did
- 1:13:06Speaker 3: all the caadle, I should say, the guy who did
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: all the guy who the purp ye right exactly. In
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: the lawsuit, it says when the defendant when the defendant,
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: detective Turnage asked defendant Catle if he would be willing
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: to take a polygraph test, Catle said no, specifically responding quote,
- 1:13:25Speaker 3: I've had sex with a lot of people in the
- 1:13:27Speaker 3: shower with my eyes closed.
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: If you know what I mean, I'm a man.
- 1:13:31Speaker 3: What as if to say, like he can't say who
- 1:13:36Speaker 3: he had sex with? In other words, he may answer
- 1:13:38Speaker 3: inappropriately because he's had so much sex and showers with
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: his eyes closed, he don't know who he's doing it with.
- 1:13:45Speaker 3: He has no idea. That's that was his defense.
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: I'm a man, did it? It obviously worked? Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: next time my wife accuses me.
- 1:13:55Speaker 3: And by the way I read on down. You know, Taylor,
- 1:13:59Speaker 3: the victim gave a number of statements, and I have
- 1:14:02Speaker 3: to tell you the detail is pretty remarkable for a
- 1:14:04Speaker 3: child that young to have remembered all of that. But
- 1:14:07Speaker 3: I'm guessing that you would probably remember it.
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, well kids, I mean like kids will make
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: up stuff for sure, and they've got brilliant imaginations. But like,
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: I didn't know what all that was when I was
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: like a little little kid. Even if I would have
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: saw it in the movie, I wouldn't be able to
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: describe it accurately to a police officer.
- 1:14:23Speaker 3: Yeah, I guess. Defendant Detective Turnage her name is Melissa Turnage.
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: She was one of the detectives. Detectives also warned the
- 1:14:33Speaker 3: plane if this would be the girl, the little girl,
- 1:14:35Speaker 3: that if she continued to accuse Catle, there would be consequences,
- 1:14:39Speaker 3: quote angrily stating to her in a recorded interview, quote
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: do you want to go back to the foster care
- 1:14:46Speaker 3: because more than likely, if he's arrested, they're not going
- 1:14:48Speaker 3: to let you stay there. It's if it's not the truth,
- 1:14:53Speaker 3: you're fixing to hurt a lot of people. The detective
- 1:14:56Speaker 3: said that to a twelve year.
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: Old, that's insane. That lady should not be in sex crime.
- 1:15:02Speaker 3: And by the way, that's one of the reasons why
- 1:15:05Speaker 3: I'm sure that both of these detectives were included in
- 1:15:07Speaker 3: this lawsuit because of this gross negligence and taking care
- 1:15:10Speaker 3: of this case. I mean, it looks like it to
- 1:15:12Speaker 3: me as I read this lawsuit that it almost almost
- 1:15:15Speaker 3: like they went in not believing.
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: And then think about it too, because she was nine
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: when it happened. This is twenty twelve, so it's twenty
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: twenty five now, so you're talking like thirteen years goes
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: by and she's living with this, having to like get
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: raped again. Go now, go and fight it. And these
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: these two people have been detective this whole time, right, Yeah, yeah,
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: that's right, it says.
- 1:15:34Speaker 3: In response to defendant Turnage questioning the girl, plaintiff again
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: referred to the veracity of the defendant cable sexual abuse, saying,
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: everything I told you earlier is not a lie. In
- 1:15:47Speaker 3: other words, I'm not lying. This stuff happened. She completely
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: disregarded exceedingly graphic and detailed and consistent descriptions of his abuse. Yeah.
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: See, like what well, Grady Judd. While I'm like, okay,
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: you're the top guy, you're not the one fully investigating.
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: But if you're investigating this and that's your response to
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: a little girl, yeah, then you need a different form
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: of work.
- 1:16:11Speaker 3: It said that the rape kit that the detective said,
- 1:16:16Speaker 3: we did a rape kit and basically there was no
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: DNA found. If you would have been raped, there'd been DNA.
- 1:16:20Speaker 3: But then then the very next paragraph says, in fact,
- 1:16:23Speaker 3: rape kits do not often do not show the evidence
- 1:16:26Speaker 3: of an abuser's DNA, and in the plaintiff's case, a
- 1:16:28Speaker 3: condom was used in the rape kit was performed more
- 1:16:30Speaker 3: than twenty four hours after the most recent rape.
- 1:16:35Speaker 6: Again, they left a twelve year old girl to collect
- 1:16:38Speaker 6: her own evidence of her own sexual assault because they
- 1:16:40Speaker 6: wouldn't believe her.
- 1:16:44Speaker 3: I got to tell you of all of this, the
- 1:16:46Speaker 3: stuff that I mean, this is a this is a
- 1:16:49Speaker 3: obviously a very bad look, a disgusting case. But man,
- 1:16:53Speaker 3: that quote from the sheriff's apartment, man, and that's fresh.
- 1:16:57Speaker 3: I mean, I don't That's the one I do not understand.
- 1:17:00Speaker 3: Why even make a statement at all? Why not just
- 1:17:03Speaker 3: say this is pending litigation. We are incapable of commenting
- 1:17:08Speaker 3: on pending litigation. You do not do that, You double
- 1:17:11Speaker 3: down and make the statement that. Unfortunately, in today's highly
- 1:17:14Speaker 3: litigious society, lawyers will file frivolous lawsuits for just about anything,
- 1:17:19Speaker 3: including second guessing nine year old criminal investigations, and then
- 1:17:23Speaker 3: they will run to the news media attempting to get
- 1:17:26Speaker 3: publicity for their lawsuit. In this case, our deputies did
- 1:17:29Speaker 3: an extensive investigation and made deliberate and rational decisions based
- 1:17:33Speaker 3: on the information and evidence that we had at the time.
- 1:17:35Speaker 3: We look forward to vigorously defending against these baseless and fabricated,
- 1:17:40Speaker 3: fabricated allegations in court. That is quite a statement from
- 1:17:45Speaker 3: a police department when that kind of evidence is staring
- 1:17:47Speaker 3: you in the face.
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: Yeah, you are not a good guy.
- 1:17:49Speaker 3: In this situation, or can I tell you maybe they
- 1:17:52Speaker 3: knew something I don't that's completely available as well.
- 1:17:55Speaker 5: That's what That's why I said earlier, is that you know,
- 1:17:58Speaker 5: the big news is that the law suit is happening.
- 1:18:01Speaker 5: I'm not saying I have all the answers, but I
- 1:18:04Speaker 5: will say confidently, with the information that was just presented,
- 1:18:08Speaker 5: this is Chernobyl bad.
- 1:18:09Speaker 3: Yeah. You could. By the way, on Clickorlando dot com
- 1:18:12Speaker 3: when you see the story, they have the entire lawsuit
- 1:18:15Speaker 3: that you can read. It's forty four pages long. You
- 1:18:17Speaker 3: can read the entire thing, all the evidence, all the information,
- 1:18:20Speaker 3: all in quotes, all of the interviews. It's all right there.
- 1:18:24Speaker 3: So four oh seven nine text us at seven to
- 1:18:27Speaker 3: seven zero three one. If you thought you weren't mad enough,
- 1:18:32Speaker 3: as you're sitting out there listening to the show right now,
- 1:18:34Speaker 3: if you thought you weren't mad enough, stay tuned, and
- 1:18:38Speaker 3: I'm gonna make you a little more angry. That's next.
- 1:19:00Speaker 3: Holcome back to the Jim Cooper Show. Roll Radio one
- 1:19:02Speaker 3: EU four point one. Your five o'clock keyword is Bill's
- 1:19:05Speaker 3: b I l S. Get over to real radio. Done
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: of him and send that away for your chance at
- 1:19:10Speaker 3: one thousand bucks bills. Guys, that is your five o'clock
- 1:19:12Speaker 3: The word good luck. We hope you win. Jim, there's
- 1:19:15Speaker 3: deb Hello, Ryan Holmes, what's up? Ross pageants? Eat more Fiber,
- 1:19:20Speaker 3: Eat more fiber.
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: Indeed, he's giving me all the fiber updates in here.
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: It's been very helpful.
- 1:19:24Speaker 3: You do the are you only meta musel or you're
- 1:19:26Speaker 3: just eating more nude?
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: So you you.
- 1:19:28Speaker 5: Grab some lollipops and then you go ahead, you snack
- 1:19:31Speaker 5: on some of these new Starbursts that just dropped. Yeah,
- 1:19:34Speaker 5: they got fiber Starburst Gym's nude time.
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: That's awesome. During the break, he's on the phone with
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: his wife, you know, confirming a purchase, which you should
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: do as a husband, and it's a subscription. Yeah, and
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: he's buying ollipops and he's like, well, honey, we got
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: to have more fiber. And I'm like, wait, there's there's
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: fiber soda. Uh, because I'm at a point in my life.
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: Turns out fiber is kind of a big deal for me.
- 1:19:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: Yeah. I also read recently that ninety one percent of
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: Americans aren't getting the amount of fiber that they need.
- 1:20:00Speaker 3: I my doctor said, you gotta drink one metamucle or
- 1:20:04Speaker 3: do a meta mucile each day to get enough fiber.
- 1:20:06Speaker 3: You should do that, Like meta mucal is something like
- 1:20:08Speaker 3: my grandma she had.
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: But let me tell you this. When this metamucial, it
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: is probably the exact same thing as this. But when
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: I'm like ew medamusel no, but Ross is like, hey,
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: you know starbursts gummy fiber gummies, I'm like, well, that's
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: a young person saying gonna do that.
- 1:20:24Speaker 3: That musical makes fiber gummies. Music, got this brand stuff.
- 1:20:29Speaker 3: Get out of here, just enjoy the poop.
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: But that's the thing. It turns out I have no
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: idea like how to get fiber. I thought various foods
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: that I was eating were fiber that are not bananas.
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: I thought rice was fiber.
- 1:20:42Speaker 3: No, no, no, no, no, that's a bad one.
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah. So I went to doctor recently with
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: some some issues and the like how much fiber are
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: you take? And I'm like, oh, you know, here, I
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: eat this rice, I eat this other stuff. Like they
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: literally openly none of that is fiber. You need to
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: up your fiber and take So my wife hears that,
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: and her response to that was like she bought so
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: much granola. No, and it's just like, I'm so sick
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: of granola. I don't want it. I don't. I feel
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: like a squirrel at this point. And we also don't
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: eat a lot of sugar. That's a weird part of
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: my life. And so the granola just tastes like wood.
- 1:21:14Speaker 3: Yeah, it's not fun.
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: So I didn't know that there was a secret game
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: of like fiber sodas and fiber candies and things like that.
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: So learn something new today. That's deck taking the day off. Yeah,
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: but Eric Spencer's telling me a two dollars a can. Yeah,
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: they are very pricey.
- 1:21:30Speaker 3: Let me tell you. They don't hand you Meta Musical
- 1:21:32Speaker 3: for free either. I got bad news for you.
- 1:21:36Speaker 2: Dog.
- 1:21:36Speaker 3: That poop comes at the price.
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: How much is metamucicle? I actually don't, okay, so if.
- 1:21:39Speaker 3: You were to get a jar, okay, So you know
- 1:21:41Speaker 3: the wipes that we have around here that we wipe
- 1:21:42Speaker 3: everything down with the Clorox things.
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: Yeah, Mada Musical wipes.
- 1:21:45Speaker 3: No stop, all right, I'm sorry. That container that size right,
- 1:21:51Speaker 3: a little bit smaller than that is about twenty four
- 1:21:54Speaker 3: dollars and you have to use two tablespoons per serving them.
- 1:21:57Speaker 3: By the way, they have sugar free and it's delicious.
- 1:21:59Speaker 3: It's like orange. Imagine a super orangey drink that you
- 1:22:03Speaker 3: drink in the morning. I just I get ice cold
- 1:22:06Speaker 3: water and port on there and just rip it down
- 1:22:07Speaker 3: in the morning.
- 1:22:08Speaker 8: See.
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: But that's the problem with it is that it is
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: orange blood pressure too. Like the fact that it's orange
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: kind of reminds me of the number two. So like
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: that's why I don't want it.
- 1:22:17Speaker 3: It's great, it's the greatest.
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: They just need to rebrand because I remember metamucial commercials
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: like sitting at home with my grandma while she watched
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: daytime television soap operas. One of the bigger commercials would
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: Meta mucicles would come on all the time. But if
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: they rebranded it like metal metamucual millennial, like I'd be like, oh, okay,
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: that's for me. Then Millennium Musical. That seems like it
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: would be for me because meta mucicles, like that's for
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: old people, even though I'm getting there.
- 1:22:42Speaker 5: It's a millennial soul. Millennial soul right there. You guys,
- 1:22:47Speaker 5: just eat your fiber and be good.
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: Take a number two thousand.
- 1:22:51Speaker 3: Throwing this out.
- 1:22:51Speaker 5: Here just because I want to tell more people because
- 1:22:54Speaker 5: you should eat more fibers Starburst. It's called Starburst goodies,
- 1:22:58Speaker 5: and per serving you're talking fifty percent of your dietary fireber.
- 1:23:03Speaker 3: Yeah yeah bye yeah in a gummy form.
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: Yeah yeah.
- 1:23:07Speaker 3: I've heard that the gummies don't aren't as effective as
- 1:23:09Speaker 3: the drink though, but.
- 1:23:10Speaker 5: I also heard that it's still putting the burst and
- 1:23:12Speaker 5: starburst it works better.
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: For weed, Okay, I would not work well in fiber
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: why not? All right, So I want to tell you
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: this other story.
- 1:23:19Speaker 3: He gets you even more pissed off, right, coming off
- 1:23:21Speaker 3: the child rape story. Oh all right, So do you
- 1:23:26Speaker 3: guys remember this guy who was accused of attempting rape
- 1:23:29Speaker 3: on an Orange County trail. Yes, his name is Jacoby Tillman. Right,
- 1:23:34Speaker 3: he was a He's a convicted felon accusing of trying
- 1:23:36Speaker 3: to rape a woman. Funny popular Orange County trail. Right,
- 1:23:44Speaker 3: he he has a he's a convicted fella with a
- 1:23:49Speaker 3: violent past. I think he actually has at least one
- 1:23:52Speaker 3: conviction where he did a year in prison.
- 1:23:53Speaker 6: He has two actually, Orange and Volusia Counties. And you're right,
- 1:23:57Speaker 6: he did spend a year in prison. He was released
- 1:23:59Speaker 6: in November twenty twenty.
- 1:24:00Speaker 3: Four he was let out on bond. What the judge
- 1:24:06Speaker 3: let this guy out on bond? Let me get you
- 1:24:08Speaker 3: this judge's name, So everybody kind of understands who this is.
- 1:24:11Speaker 6: Even after like saying, you have an atrocious record.
- 1:24:15Speaker 3: Yeah, but here's your bond. Yeah, yeah, judge a lame
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: barber br bo, you are or set his bond at
- 1:24:22Speaker 3: only ninety five hundred dollars, So that means for less
- 1:24:25Speaker 3: than a thousand bucks, this guy can be back out
- 1:24:27Speaker 3: on the street with his victim still living in the area.
- 1:24:32Speaker 3: You said ninety five hundred, his bond is ninety five hundred.
- 1:24:35Speaker 3: You pay ten percent of that to get out.
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: But okay, but if you're a person with no you know,
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: you don't have a house, you don't have any income
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: to pull that ninety five hundred could be a lot
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: of money, like impossible money to some people.
- 1:24:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: Yeah, but it's how they base it on though, like that.
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: They don't normally just set million dollar bonds for regular people.
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: Well no, no, it's all about your means to be able
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: to get out due to like fair trial non thing. Yeah.
- 1:24:58Speaker 3: I think also a lot of it has to do
- 1:24:59Speaker 3: with whether or not you're a flight risk. That's also
- 1:25:02Speaker 3: a big player.
- 1:25:03Speaker 7: Right, they can consider him to be a flight rip.
- 1:25:04Speaker 3: Well, that's what that's what every attorney in the thing said.
- 1:25:07Speaker 3: He said he was a flight risk, and he is
- 1:25:09Speaker 3: a danger to society. And he's he's still want his
- 1:25:11Speaker 3: that's out. If he's not doing well on land, he's
- 1:25:13Speaker 3: not going to do well in the air, prosecutor. Prosecutors
- 1:25:17Speaker 3: argue Tillman was a flight risk as they pushed for
- 1:25:19Speaker 3: him to be held in jail without bond. Tilman's public
- 1:25:22Speaker 3: defender push back on that claim. It's not clear when
- 1:25:25Speaker 3: he's even doing court next. The online docket didn't even
- 1:25:28Speaker 3: have that. He's suspected of trying to rape a one
- 1:25:30Speaker 3: on the Little Econ Greenway trail in July. He has
- 1:25:33Speaker 3: prior convictions in Orange and Volution Counties and spent one
- 1:25:36Speaker 3: year in state prison. He was released, according to the
- 1:25:39Speaker 3: fdl E in November of twenty twenty four. He's got
- 1:25:42Speaker 3: a misdemeanor conviction in twenty twenty two for battery, Orange County.
- 1:25:46Speaker 3: The victim in that case said Tilman groped her while
- 1:25:48Speaker 3: she was out for a run. Oh he's out, so
- 1:25:51Speaker 3: I thought he was like, no, set the bond.
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: He's out. He's out. Dog. He bonded out that next day, Yo,
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: Florida Legal, We're not looking good in the news today.
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: A guess the judge.
- 1:26:02Speaker 3: The judge who did this, said that his criminal record
- 1:26:05Speaker 3: was quote atrocious before denying the state's request for pretrial's attention.
- 1:26:12Speaker 3: Quote if I get any inkling that you violated your
- 1:26:15Speaker 3: pre trial release, you'll be arrested on a no bond
- 1:26:18Speaker 3: warrant and you will not get out. In other words,
- 1:26:20Speaker 3: I'll give you one more shot if you rape again,
- 1:26:23Speaker 3: if you rape again, if you grow up somebody on
- 1:26:25Speaker 3: the trail again. Is this Florida? You gotta rape twice?
- 1:26:29Speaker 3: Simply unbelievable, man, I mean, it is simply unbelievable. After
- 1:26:34Speaker 3: reviewing the facts of the case, their office felt that
- 1:26:36Speaker 3: the release of the defendant was quote not appropriate. He
- 1:26:39Speaker 3: presents a danger to our community, but he's got nine
- 1:26:43Speaker 3: hundred and fifty bucks. Even Belvin Perry, you know who
- 1:26:48Speaker 3: was a former judge here in Central Florida, weighing with
- 1:26:50Speaker 3: silver factors making bond decisions, including flight risk, criminal past,
- 1:26:54Speaker 3: and evidence in the current case. Quote this is a
- 1:26:57Speaker 3: tough case under any circumstances based on the facts of
- 1:27:00Speaker 3: this case to grant him bail. So even a former
- 1:27:04Speaker 3: Orange County judge said, probably shouldn't have done that, but
- 1:27:07Speaker 3: she let him rip.
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: If you're a lady in town, what you're doing on
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: these trails at this point, cause this was little e contract.
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: I thought this was the same one that happened on
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: the seminole Kiva.
- 1:27:20Speaker 3: That's the one up the street.
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: That's a different guy.
- 1:27:22Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the one that's right up there, like you're
- 1:27:24Speaker 3: behind us here, kind of I mean, you know, theoretically
- 1:27:26Speaker 3: behind us man. Yeah yeah, kind of crazy, right, yeah,
- 1:27:29Speaker 3: you know. And these are the things that people got
- 1:27:31Speaker 3: to lose their mind over because you know, you got him.
- 1:27:33Speaker 3: It's him, like you got him dead to rights, you
- 1:27:36Speaker 3: got him in priors as well. You have somebody with
- 1:27:39Speaker 3: a criminal mindset that he can force women to do
- 1:27:42Speaker 3: what he wants sexually. And they let this guy go.
- 1:27:45Speaker 3: They let him out for nine hundred and fifty dollars.
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: That's infuriating.
- 1:27:52Speaker 3: And now the woman who got who in depth said
- 1:27:55Speaker 3: there was another report and I don't know if we
- 1:27:56Speaker 3: can verify this or not.
- 1:27:57Speaker 6: I don't know, but I have one of the news
- 1:28:00Speaker 6: reports had said that when he was confronted by his mother,
- 1:28:03Speaker 6: Jacobe said that he wasn't trying to raper. He was
- 1:28:05Speaker 6: trying to kill her because he wanted to know what
- 1:28:08Speaker 6: it felt like to choke someone out, all right, But.
- 1:28:12Speaker 3: Of course that's hearsay. You can't bring that in a court,
- 1:28:14Speaker 3: and the judge can't really use that as any any
- 1:28:16Speaker 3: way to determine whether he gets bond or not.
- 1:28:19Speaker 6: Well, I think despite that, the fact that he just
- 1:28:21Speaker 6: got released.
- 1:28:22Speaker 7: From from prison, not even a year ago.
- 1:28:24Speaker 6: He was released in November of twenty twenty four, he
- 1:28:28Speaker 6: couldn't even wait a year before attacking another woman. I think,
- 1:28:31Speaker 6: just on the face of that alone, that's two victims
- 1:28:34Speaker 6: in Central Florida that now have to worry about where
- 1:28:36Speaker 6: this cat's going to be over the next several days.
- 1:28:39Speaker 7: And that's not fair to them.
- 1:28:41Speaker 6: And I don't see what he has to take care
- 1:28:43Speaker 6: of that he should be out on bomb.
- 1:28:44Speaker 3: That is unbelievable, isn't it? Obviously not a job?
- 1:28:47Speaker 5: No, screw your house plans. Well, you have to take
- 1:28:50Speaker 5: care of dude. You're done for, yeah, or you should
- 1:28:53Speaker 5: be done.
- 1:28:53Speaker 7: You should be.
- 1:28:55Speaker 3: All right four oh seven nine six one four one.
- 1:28:57Speaker 3: You can always text us at seven seven zero three
- 1:29:01Speaker 3: oh one. So I'll talk about the story when we
- 1:29:04Speaker 3: get back. It's a Time magazine story. Did you guys
- 1:29:07Speaker 3: hear the Donald Trump picture thing about his his cover
- 1:29:10Speaker 3: on the photograph on the cover of Time magazine. Have
- 1:29:12Speaker 3: you heard the story yet?
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: Yeah, he's getting a little sassy about it.
- 1:29:15Speaker 3: Let's talk about it.
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: Next. Difficult.
- 1:29:18Speaker 3: I'm hitting but tuning in light.
- 1:29:21Speaker 7: But where is Grady Judt and all this math?
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: I don't know?
- 1:29:29Speaker 7: Yes, say, I'll tell you this is not a dick.
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: A do moment.
- 1:29:37Speaker 3: No, it's not a dicky Dicky do moment. That's for sure.
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: That took a turn at the end. Yeah, yeah, well
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: that's our thing.
- 1:29:43Speaker 3: That's a regular and uh yeah. We don't have a
- 1:29:47Speaker 3: statement from Grady specifically. The Poult County Sheriff's part did
- 1:29:51Speaker 3: issue a statement. We read it a couple of times.
- 1:29:53Speaker 3: I don't I don't know that it's a real good move.
- 1:29:56Speaker 3: I don't know that's going to look. I was talking
- 1:29:57Speaker 3: to Ray Frindley, our good attorney friend, yesterday regarding some
- 1:30:00Speaker 3: public stayments by Mark Sanchez that he made after that
- 1:30:04Speaker 3: whole thing. You know, he comes out makes his very
- 1:30:06Speaker 3: first statement and the thing he does first. And I
- 1:30:08Speaker 3: asked him, I said, you know, if you if it's
- 1:30:12Speaker 3: you're guilty. I mean, Mark Sanchez is guilty. This guy didn't.
- 1:30:15Speaker 3: I don't think there's provocation. They have video of it.
- 1:30:17Speaker 3: There's no there's no sense of provocation there that the
- 1:30:20Speaker 3: guy like stood up on him or whatever. Mark Sanchez
- 1:30:22Speaker 3: just attacked this guy and aft him up really bad.
- 1:30:26Speaker 3: Ye and then in turn got stabbed a bunch. But
- 1:30:28Speaker 3: in that same sense, you know, when Mark Sanchez came
- 1:30:31Speaker 3: out of the hospital, his very first statement was I
- 1:30:34Speaker 3: want to thank the first responders for saving my life
- 1:30:38Speaker 3: and I just can't wait to see my kids and
- 1:30:40Speaker 3: my wife. Right, never mentions the victim, never says he's sorry,
- 1:30:44Speaker 3: none of that stuff. And Ray said, And I was
- 1:30:46Speaker 3: talking to Ray, and I was like, is that a
- 1:30:48Speaker 3: legal thing?
- 1:30:49Speaker 9: Like?
- 1:30:49Speaker 3: Can Mark Sanchez not say anything? Is it when that
- 1:30:52Speaker 3: hurt his case? He goes, No, it wouldn't hurt his case.
- 1:30:54Speaker 3: That's exactly what I would have told him to do.
- 1:30:56Speaker 3: Come out and say, hey, look, you know, I'm this
- 1:30:59Speaker 3: is the most unfortun in a situation of my entire life.
- 1:31:01Speaker 3: I can only hope and pray that the gentleman, and
- 1:31:04Speaker 3: you know, the gentleman is okay, and he makes a
- 1:31:06Speaker 3: full recovery. With that said, big thanks to the first
- 1:31:09Speaker 3: responders for not only saving his life but also saving
- 1:31:11Speaker 3: my life. And then move on from there. He did
- 1:31:13Speaker 3: not do that. He just said I and me a
- 1:31:16Speaker 3: whole bunch in that statement. This kind of feels like
- 1:31:18Speaker 3: that with Polk County. Yeah, I mean it's a child,
- 1:31:22Speaker 3: you know, in the fact seem relatively black and white.
- 1:31:25Speaker 3: You can read the lawsuit click Orlando dot com.
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: But like with the with Mark Sanchez, Like Mark Sanchez
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: seems like that guy's been a jerk for a very
- 1:31:32Speaker 1: long time and has gotten away with it for a
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: very long time. We all know people like that. But
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: Mark Sanchez isn't in charge of anything.
- 1:31:38Speaker 3: Yeah, you know what I mean.
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: This is the great Great Judd has done a lot
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: of good things for that community and they love him.
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: And I don't think a moment of humility is saying
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: like we messed up would would hurt that man's credibility
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: in any way whatsoever.
- 1:31:51Speaker 3: I think this statement from the lawyer's grows and Ryan,
- 1:31:53Speaker 3: I think even more, I will double down on what
- 1:31:55Speaker 3: you said. It's a case with a child that's been
- 1:31:58Speaker 3: sexually abused by a family member, Like, you know, how
- 1:32:02Speaker 3: do you double down on that? I mean double down
- 1:32:04Speaker 3: if you're like the other case we're talking about, let
- 1:32:06Speaker 3: somebody out, this guy does something else, Thank god nobody
- 1:32:09Speaker 3: gets hurt you severely, then you make that statement. Ay man,
- 1:32:11Speaker 3: you know, you know, we did the best we could. Hear,
- 1:32:13Speaker 3: this is what the law kind of restricts us to do.
- 1:32:16Speaker 3: We didn't really have our choice. We were putting where
- 1:32:17Speaker 3: our backtors were against the wall. That's not the case
- 1:32:19Speaker 3: at all.
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: Yeah, especially when you want to be seeing in Polk
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: County as though we don't mess around county.
- 1:32:24Speaker 11: Yeah you do.
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: We FAFO. You can't be FAFO and have this.
- 1:32:29Speaker 6: Well, this is what makes me wonder if they put
- 1:32:31Speaker 6: this statement out without it getting past Grady Judd's eyes.
- 1:32:34Speaker 3: First, I can't imagine that's the case.
- 1:32:35Speaker 6: Because again, none of this is about accusing Grady Judge
- 1:32:38Speaker 6: of anything.
- 1:32:39Speaker 7: But as you know, when you're a leader, the buck.
- 1:32:41Speaker 6: Stops with you one hundred and Grady would say the
- 1:32:43Speaker 6: same thing.
- 1:32:44Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, But I don't know, man, this case, this
- 1:32:46Speaker 3: kind of case seems so much different and obviously to
- 1:32:49Speaker 3: me when I read situations like that, this is what
- 1:32:51Speaker 3: I say. That's how much money's on the line. Now,
- 1:32:53Speaker 3: Ryan did read the thing saying that it was only
- 1:32:55Speaker 3: two hundred k. I don't know how. I don't know
- 1:32:57Speaker 3: how that works. I think it says too like tort
- 1:33:00Speaker 3: is what it says after that per charge, I guess,
- 1:33:02Speaker 3: or a per person, so it would be eight hundred thousand.
- 1:33:04Speaker 3: And somebody texts in and said, I don't care if
- 1:33:06Speaker 3: it was eight hundred million. You're not gonna change it.
- 1:33:07Speaker 3: She got she had sexually abused by her uncle. How
- 1:33:10Speaker 3: are you gonna wipe that away? You can It's on
- 1:33:11Speaker 3: an etches sketch. You can't turn it over and shake
- 1:33:13Speaker 3: it and all of a sudden have a new life. Yeah,
- 1:33:15Speaker 3: not only coming out of foster home. She's gonna have
- 1:33:16Speaker 3: to deal with this now.
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: And eight hundred thousand dollars, especially after lawyer fees, after
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: all of that whatnot is not life changing money in
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: twenty twenty five either.
- 1:33:25Speaker 3: And on top of that, you want a mentor more
- 1:33:27Speaker 3: than you want money. And young people want people to
- 1:33:29Speaker 3: look up to. They want somebody that they can look
- 1:33:31Speaker 3: to that they can trust. You know, who does she
- 1:33:33Speaker 3: have in her life like that.
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: You can't. Obviously it's not her aunt, Yes, not her aunt.
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: I mean the best person in her life was the
- 1:33:40Speaker 1: pastor's wife, who was like, hey, let's take you to that.
- 1:33:43Speaker 1: But now you learned at a very young age that
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: the police aren't there to help you.
- 1:33:46Speaker 3: Yeah, and thank God for that pastor's wife. If you're
- 1:33:48Speaker 3: out there and you're listening, you did the right thing.
- 1:33:50Speaker 3: God bless you. That's exactly what you should have done,
- 1:33:53Speaker 3: one thousand percent of what you should have done. Whoever
- 1:33:55Speaker 3: or whatever that church is, God bless you. You did
- 1:33:58Speaker 3: the right thing. Yeah. Oh well.
- 1:34:00Speaker 5: One of the traumatizing aspects of this whole thing that
- 1:34:02Speaker 5: I still can't stomach is going to the authorities and
- 1:34:07Speaker 5: then not having your back, right. Yeah, you like you
- 1:34:11Speaker 5: build up the courage, right, we always say, like, you know,
- 1:34:14Speaker 5: be you're so brave when you come forward, and then
- 1:34:17Speaker 5: to have that bravery or that choice of Hey, I'm
- 1:34:20Speaker 5: coming to the police, I desperately need help.
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: Why are you sending me back to what? No?
- 1:34:26Speaker 3: Why are you Okay?
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: I have to yeah, I.
- 1:34:30Speaker 5: It just seemed like she was forced to make that note.
- 1:34:32Speaker 5: The note is the part that makes this go from
- 1:34:36Speaker 5: it to double ick, doubleick times of thousand.
- 1:34:40Speaker 3: And it was the female detective that told her that
- 1:34:43Speaker 3: she should do it. Like when you read the loss
- 1:34:45Speaker 3: of the female detective is saying, hey, if you're lying
- 1:34:47Speaker 3: to people, you're gonna hurt a lot of people.
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: More than women.
- 1:34:51Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that's true.
- 1:34:53Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't actually don't know if it's
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: better for like a woman, like necessarily, like just based
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: on gender, is it better to have a woman? I
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: don't know, Like I think, like and that's a particular case.
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: I think a guy would probably be more like, well,
- 1:35:04Speaker 1: I'm gonna believe it.
- 1:35:06Speaker 3: I can't imagine looking at a tiny child and go,
- 1:35:08Speaker 3: you're lying about this rape? Right?
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:35:10Speaker 5: The gender doesn't even it's weird, The gender doesn't play
- 1:35:12Speaker 5: a role in it whatsoever for me, because I just
- 1:35:15Speaker 5: can't get over police officer or just detective detective, authority,
- 1:35:22Speaker 5: justice doers getters.
- 1:35:24Speaker 3: Yeah, people are just tuning in or actually texting in
- 1:35:26Speaker 3: and say what are we talking about? In Polk County,
- 1:35:28Speaker 3: there's a young girl who claimed that she went to
- 1:35:31Speaker 3: her her minister's wife to say that she'd been sexually
- 1:35:34Speaker 3: abused by her uncle, who adopted her as a paternal uncle,
- 1:35:38Speaker 3: so it was her dad. She actually refers to him
- 1:35:40Speaker 3: as dad. Not long after the adoption, at nine years old,
- 1:35:43Speaker 3: he started touching her inappropriately, and then not long after that,
- 1:35:46Speaker 3: he started having sex with her multiple times, and she
- 1:35:50Speaker 3: went to her minister's her church pastor's wife and told him.
- 1:35:54Speaker 3: They called the cops, cops in an investigation, and not
- 1:35:57Speaker 3: only did they not find him liable for any of this,
- 1:36:00Speaker 3: actually called the child a liar and then told the
- 1:36:03Speaker 3: child to write a letter to not only the Sheriff's
- 1:36:06Speaker 3: department but to her uncle apologizing for dragging him through this,
- 1:36:11Speaker 3: only to have her sent back to him. And then
- 1:36:15Speaker 3: he raped her again, but this time she recorded it
- 1:36:17Speaker 3: on her phone. He was sentenced to seventeen years in prison.
- 1:36:21Speaker 3: They're now suing County, the two detectives and Sheriff Grady
- 1:36:25Speaker 3: Judd personally for malfeasance of duty I guess, or something
- 1:36:30Speaker 3: of that nature. So they get you up to speed,
- 1:36:32Speaker 3: and then then the Sheriff's department puts out a bombastic
- 1:36:36Speaker 3: statement saying that they're going to defend against lies and
- 1:36:40Speaker 3: frivolous lawsuits. They consider this a frivolous lawsuit that may
- 1:36:45Speaker 3: be the I mean, it's obviously not the grossest part
- 1:36:47Speaker 3: of it, But I'm telling you when it comes to
- 1:36:49Speaker 3: the part where you just can't believe it as a
- 1:36:51Speaker 3: grown ass adult, because we know people do sideway stuff
- 1:36:53Speaker 3: all the time. But to have a PIO write a
- 1:36:56Speaker 3: statement like that when it's a child sex case, one
- 1:36:59Speaker 3: they previously investigated and then dropped the ball on that's balls, dude.
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: Yeah there was no condiction. I ain't got it like that. Yeah,
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: if there was no conviction, I could see why you
- 1:37:10Speaker 1: could write a letter like this. Maybe, but the guys
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: in jail for seventeen years for recording doing exactly what
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: she said, right, So it's just not a good look.
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: Do people do? Is there some people that don't stop
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: and go, Am I the villain here?
- 1:37:24Speaker 3: No? No, no, no, no no. If you're a predator, you don't.
- 1:37:26Speaker 3: You don't feel no, I mean the pi O.
- 1:37:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, like you write, you wrote that sentence,
- 1:37:31Speaker 1: you looked at and go they're still yeah, that's a
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: good one.
- 1:37:33Speaker 3: They're still in the job that. I don't even think
- 1:37:34Speaker 3: they were suspended or anything like that. I don't think
- 1:37:36Speaker 3: they were even looked at or investigated it said they
- 1:37:38Speaker 3: were on the job doing still working. It's crazy to
- 1:37:40Speaker 3: keep Pole County safe. The detective. Yeah, yeah, yeah, who
- 1:37:45Speaker 3: that's a tough one.
- 1:37:47Speaker 1: Yeah, And shout out to everybody in these texting services sense.
- 1:37:50Speaker 3: Literally melting, melting and mad.
- 1:37:52Speaker 1: But also sending in their stories about this happening to them,
- 1:37:55Speaker 1: and I feel for you, gus.
- 1:37:56Speaker 5: Oh yeah, but you guys don't know. Yeah, dude, we tried.
- 1:38:00Speaker 5: We try this whole motion, this whole notion right here
- 1:38:04Speaker 5: of like, you know, believe the victim, Like, yeah, we
- 1:38:07Speaker 5: had a campaign and it was making waves and then
- 1:38:10Speaker 5: everyone started.
- 1:38:11Speaker 1: Making fun of it.
- 1:38:12Speaker 5: Yeah, it was called me too, and just the fact
- 1:38:14Speaker 5: of me saying me too. Right now, this would be
- 1:38:17Speaker 5: part of the umbrella of that movement. But I right now,
- 1:38:21Speaker 5: it's uh not trendy and it's super cool to make
- 1:38:24Speaker 5: fun of you. I guess that's me reading the room
- 1:38:26Speaker 5: that I call the country.
- 1:38:27Speaker 3: And how about this the text that just came in
- 1:38:29Speaker 3: sums up to even think about this. I don't know
- 1:38:32Speaker 3: if you guys read this.
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: Did you read this? Homesy? I don't know.
- 1:38:35Speaker 3: And if she got pregnant in Florida, oh.
- 1:38:38Speaker 1: No, abortion, Look at that.
- 1:38:41Speaker 3: M.
- 1:38:43Speaker 1: I don't know when you're the party and the line
- 1:38:46Speaker 1: is like you're the law and order people, and you
- 1:38:47Speaker 1: especially want to go no one is ever against like
- 1:38:50Speaker 1: you're going too hard against the sex the child sex predators.
- 1:38:52Speaker 1: Please slow down on them. Well at least it seemed
- 1:38:55Speaker 1: that way for a long time. Uh so why not
- 1:38:58Speaker 1: always like with a kid that young, always air on
- 1:39:01Speaker 1: the side of their probably not making it up. I
- 1:39:03Speaker 1: get that sriff's departments are constantly berated with like overly
- 1:39:06Speaker 1: religitious people, people that like sure, yeah, like that feel
- 1:39:09Speaker 1: they were wronged and necessarily weren't. But in these particular cases,
- 1:39:14Speaker 1: just give it an extra little looks.
- 1:39:16Speaker 3: Yeah, that's it. This is a child, I mean, and
- 1:39:18Speaker 3: you know. And by the way, she did not report
- 1:39:21Speaker 3: the original sexual abuse because she feared she was going
- 1:39:24Speaker 3: to go back to the foster homes. Just to give
- 1:39:26Speaker 3: you an idea how fun foster homes are. She took
- 1:39:30Speaker 3: it for a while and then finally admitted to her
- 1:39:33Speaker 3: pastor's wife that that was happening. The pastor's wife, to
- 1:39:36Speaker 3: her credit, called nine one one immediately and filed the case.
- 1:39:39Speaker 3: They did the investigation. Of course, the rest is history.
- 1:39:43Speaker 6: And the other case with the rape suspect who's out
- 1:39:45Speaker 6: on bond despite having what the judge called, quote an
- 1:39:49Speaker 6: atrocious record end quote. Somebody texted us at seven seven
- 1:39:52Speaker 6: zero three one letting us know that Judge Alane Barber
- 1:39:55Speaker 6: is up for reelection in twenty twenty six. People, you
- 1:39:57Speaker 6: know what to do.
- 1:40:00Speaker 3: I mean, the thing is, the funny thing is this
- 1:40:01Speaker 3: is not the first time I mean Warrell. I mean
- 1:40:04Speaker 3: that was one of the big things with the Orange
- 1:40:05Speaker 3: County Department there is that the governor was saying they
- 1:40:08Speaker 3: weren't convicting cases enough, they weren't doing that enough, and
- 1:40:11Speaker 3: I guess this would be one of those cases they
- 1:40:12Speaker 3: would be talking about. I'm not saying all of them
- 1:40:14Speaker 3: are like.
- 1:40:14Speaker 6: That now, because Monique Warrell's office came out and said
- 1:40:17Speaker 6: that they too were arguing that he should not have
- 1:40:19Speaker 6: been given bond. Did not see that just along with
- 1:40:21Speaker 6: the prosecutors. It was the judge in her discretion who
- 1:40:24Speaker 6: decided that it was a bondable offense.
- 1:40:26Speaker 3: And even former judges like Belvin Perry said that it
- 1:40:29Speaker 3: was a very difficult case because when you decide bond,
- 1:40:31Speaker 3: all those things come into play, and it did not
- 1:40:33Speaker 3: look good for that dude, he has priors that are
- 1:40:36Speaker 3: similar to this, and he's already done a year in
- 1:40:37Speaker 3: state prison.
- 1:40:38Speaker 6: And hasn't been out less than a year. He got
- 1:40:40Speaker 6: out in November of twenty twenty four. It's October twenty
- 1:40:43Speaker 6: twenty five. He couldn't wait off full twelve.
- 1:40:45Speaker 3: Well, he reoffended in July, right, Yeah, so he reoffended
- 1:40:47Speaker 3: in July. So basically in eight months, he already reoffended
- 1:40:51Speaker 3: and with an intend to kill according to his own.
- 1:40:53Speaker 6: Mother, according to his own words to his mother, yes,
- 1:40:55Speaker 6: and he wasn't meaning to rapery. He was meaning to
- 1:40:57Speaker 6: choke her out because he wanted to know what it
- 1:40:59Speaker 6: was like to angle someone.
- 1:41:00Speaker 3: That's a serial killer.
- 1:41:01Speaker 1: Way now, I mean.
- 1:41:02Speaker 6: Seriously again his own statements and his own record, but
- 1:41:06Speaker 6: it's it's the prosecutors can say what they want, Orange
- 1:41:09Speaker 6: Jossiola State Attorney Monique Warel can say what she wants,
- 1:41:12Speaker 6: but in the end, it is the judge's discretion.
- 1:41:14Speaker 3: And you're right, by the way, you know, are you
- 1:41:16Speaker 3: a silly? Are you into that stuff? The true crime stuff?
- 1:41:18Speaker 9: Oh?
- 1:41:19Speaker 1: The choking you definitely.
- 1:41:22Speaker 3: Like the serial killer stuff. Do you pay attention to that?
- 1:41:24Speaker 3: Very much?
- 1:41:24Speaker 8: Do?
- 1:41:24Speaker 1: Because my wife is my wife can't get enough of
- 1:41:27Speaker 1: this stuff.
- 1:41:28Speaker 3: So if deb and I have been reading and doing about,
- 1:41:29Speaker 3: you know, just about this people and their habits for
- 1:41:32Speaker 3: many years, like just kind of paying attention to it
- 1:41:34Speaker 3: and stuff like that, and what you said kind of
- 1:41:36Speaker 3: flippantly is one hundred percent true. Serial Killers as a rule,
- 1:41:39Speaker 3: test their own boundaries all the time. Usually that's one
- 1:41:42Speaker 3: of the main reasons they start fires. They pee the
- 1:41:45Speaker 3: bed a lot. They also abuse animals at a really
- 1:41:47Speaker 3: young age because what they're finding out is is if
- 1:41:50Speaker 3: they're desensitized to it, they're literally testing their own boundaries.
- 1:41:53Speaker 3: A lot of them will also turn into peeping toms,
- 1:41:55Speaker 3: which will grow into break ins, which will grow into
- 1:41:58Speaker 3: sexual assault, which will grow into to you know, other devious.
- 1:42:02Speaker 3: That's how BTKS kind of started. That whole thing started
- 1:42:04Speaker 3: with him doing little bit stuff like that until that
- 1:42:07Speaker 3: wasn't enough.
- 1:42:07Speaker 5: But all those things that you just rattled off, one
- 1:42:09Speaker 5: of them kind of jumps out as different than the others.
- 1:42:12Speaker 3: Which is, what does p in the bed have to
- 1:42:15Speaker 3: what does that do? Well, they just say a lot
- 1:42:17Speaker 3: of serial killers pee the bed, But.
- 1:42:19Speaker 1: Isn't that because of trauma?
- 1:42:20Speaker 7: Yes, yes, childhood trauma.
- 1:42:22Speaker 3: Throw that one mean to throw you for a little.
- 1:42:26Speaker 1: Wait, so if I walk into a room and I'm
- 1:42:28Speaker 1: just straight peeing on a bed, I'm like, yes, okay,
- 1:42:30Speaker 1: because I've been to secrets and I don't know.
- 1:42:36Speaker 3: Have you guys seen that movie like what Something's Wrong
- 1:42:39Speaker 3: with Evan or something like that?
- 1:42:41Speaker 1: Kevin?
- 1:42:41Speaker 3: Yeah, something wrong with Kevin? If you want to see
- 1:42:43Speaker 3: a wild movie about a parent who's dealing with a
- 1:42:48Speaker 3: kid that has like every possible signal that they're serial killers.
- 1:42:53Speaker 3: Read that. Also another guy that killed somebody right across
- 1:42:57Speaker 3: the street over here, what was it, Charlie Brandt b
- 1:43:00Speaker 3: R A N d T. This guy tried to kill
- 1:43:03Speaker 3: his sister or his mom in the shower, shot her
- 1:43:05Speaker 3: and had had those tendencies since he was a young boy,
- 1:43:09Speaker 3: like no empathy, uh, dead eyes, no emotion. He'd shown
- 1:43:14Speaker 3: that since he was really young.
- 1:43:17Speaker 1: Yeah. But so that story, what's What's Wrong with Key
- 1:43:20Speaker 1: is about just like a mom who's like, what do
- 1:43:22Speaker 1: I do? But if she doesn't turn him into a dexter?
- 1:43:24Speaker 3: Yeah, because I mean he's under age, when what do
- 1:43:26Speaker 3: you do?
- 1:43:26Speaker 1: It's got a bow and arrow yea yeah.
- 1:43:28Speaker 3: And it's just like it's called something wrong with Kevin,
- 1:43:30Speaker 3: and when you watch the movie, like that's a that's
- 1:43:32Speaker 3: quite an understatement. There's a lot wrong with Kevin.
- 1:43:34Speaker 1: The something wrong with Kevin and walks out going like that.
- 1:43:37Speaker 5: Should have named it different, right, there's a lot wrong
- 1:43:40Speaker 5: with Everything's wrong with Kevin.
- 1:43:42Speaker 1: Evan is afft uh. Yeah.
- 1:43:43Speaker 3: Yeah. His mom walks in on him in the shower
- 1:43:47Speaker 3: and he's, you know, taking care of himself and she
- 1:43:50Speaker 3: was just in there to get the laundry. She didn't know.
- 1:43:52Speaker 1: She's kind of.
- 1:43:53Speaker 3: Walked in and and he was doing it, and he
- 1:43:57Speaker 3: didn't stop. He just stared at her and kept going.
- 1:44:00Speaker 1: Power move.
- 1:44:00Speaker 3: It is a power move, established do. I guess I
- 1:44:03Speaker 3: get your mom's a weird take, Jim.
- 1:44:06Speaker 5: I know that we're you know, getting up against the
- 1:44:08Speaker 5: clock here, but you teased that you were talking about
- 1:44:10Speaker 5: the Trump time thing, and I really want to know
- 1:44:13Speaker 5: your take about this very funny photo.
- 1:44:16Speaker 3: And let me let me set.
- 1:44:17Speaker 6: The stage here by the way real quick. It's we
- 1:44:18Speaker 6: need to talk about Kevin.
- 1:44:20Speaker 3: Oh there you okay?
- 1:44:21Speaker 7: I want to watch that.
- 1:44:23Speaker 1: You really need to talk about Kevin. It's a good
- 1:44:25Speaker 1: movie too.
- 1:44:26Speaker 3: Donald Trump was on the cover of Time magazine or
- 1:44:28Speaker 3: on their website magazines aren't a thing anymore because of
- 1:44:31Speaker 3: his negotiation of the ceasefire and piece steel and the
- 1:44:35Speaker 3: releasing of the hostages in Gaza in Israel. Right, Well,
- 1:44:39Speaker 3: they put him on the cover of Time magazine and
- 1:44:42Speaker 3: the cover shot is not very flattering. I mean it's
- 1:44:45Speaker 3: really not. He's got a neucci you know what that is?
- 1:44:47Speaker 3: Oh yeah, he's got a net coach.
- 1:44:49Speaker 1: Dude.
- 1:44:50Speaker 3: When his skin goes into his into his collar, it
- 1:44:53Speaker 3: creates what looks to be fat.
- 1:44:55Speaker 6: Bastard said it best, but I can't say it on
- 1:44:57Speaker 6: the air.
- 1:44:58Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, he's got one right there, the hair shot.
- 1:45:01Speaker 3: But I agree with him. That's a terrible photograph. You're
- 1:45:03Speaker 3: telling me that Time magazine couldn't find anything better than that.
- 1:45:07Speaker 1: I don't even think I can show this on YouTube,
- 1:45:10Speaker 1: you know, I got zoo my bad. Yeah, you got
- 1:45:15Speaker 1: you gotta.
- 1:45:19Speaker 3: Yes, that is a That is a terrible photograph. And
- 1:45:23Speaker 3: I agree with him one hundred percent. I'm not a
- 1:45:25Speaker 3: obviously not a Trump fan, but that is a terrible
- 1:45:28Speaker 3: photograph of him when you're, you know, considering what he
- 1:45:31Speaker 3: did or what he negotiated.
- 1:45:33Speaker 1: And where was the photographer in this just like kneeling
- 1:45:36Speaker 1: down below him?
- 1:45:37Speaker 3: I guess the thing that they're mad the most about
- 1:45:39Speaker 3: is how it shows how thin his hair is. That's
- 1:45:42Speaker 3: what apparently what everybody's piste off about now in the
- 1:45:44Speaker 3: White House.
- 1:45:45Speaker 1: Oh see, I was like, that makes his hair actually
- 1:45:47Speaker 1: look good.
- 1:45:47Speaker 3: No it doesn't. It kind of Biden nests there in
- 1:45:49Speaker 3: the back. I just like, like transparent almost, But that
- 1:45:52Speaker 3: neck coach is a bit money.
- 1:45:54Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's something right there. Man, That's how you
- 1:45:57Speaker 1: have twin chins. I mean, do you agree.
- 1:46:00Speaker 3: I mean you can set everything inside you how you
- 1:46:01Speaker 3: may feel about Donald Trump, but you can agree that
- 1:46:03Speaker 3: is a terrible photograph put on the cover of a magazine.
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: That's how every man over fifty takes a Facebook photo.
- 1:46:08Speaker 1: It's from down below for some reason. I'm not gonna
- 1:46:12Speaker 1: here's the thing.
- 1:46:13Speaker 3: Do I think it's a good photo? No? Do I
- 1:46:16Speaker 3: think it makes them look good?
- 1:46:17Speaker 9: No?
- 1:46:18Speaker 1: I don't.
- 1:46:18Speaker 5: But I also I'm not gonna pretend like two things. A.
- 1:46:22Speaker 5: That's not actually how his neck looks. Oh no, you
- 1:46:25Speaker 5: know that's an accurate.
- 1:46:26Speaker 3: Yeah that is. That's accurate.
- 1:46:28Speaker 1: That's accurate.
- 1:46:29Speaker 5: So it's not like it's like, oh no, I'm blaming
- 1:46:32Speaker 5: the camera on the photo. It's like, also, your neck
- 1:46:35Speaker 5: looks like it can produce.
- 1:46:36Speaker 1: Children, so.
- 1:46:38Speaker 5: That's yeah, you know, Like, so I don't know what
- 1:46:42Speaker 5: to tell you. And also I really don't like his response.
- 1:46:45Speaker 6: I think we're going to have a new show title
- 1:46:47Speaker 6: like your birthday, Thank you gentlemen.
- 1:46:52Speaker 5: Like I I really don't like his response of going
- 1:46:54Speaker 5: like they said, nice words, but I hate the photo.
- 1:46:57Speaker 5: I hate like, I don't like the fact that the
- 1:47:00Speaker 5: president got petty over a photo.
- 1:47:02Speaker 1: Yeah, that's you know, that's fine.
- 1:47:04Speaker 3: You know, he's got an ego.
- 1:47:05Speaker 5: It's just a friendly reminder that it's weird that I
- 1:47:09Speaker 5: shouldn't say we are, but it's odd, and history tells
- 1:47:12Speaker 5: me that usually you don't get Facebook and social media
- 1:47:16Speaker 5: posts about a photo of the president from President Red.
- 1:47:19Speaker 3: Ties odd there too, and anyway four oh seven nine

- 1:50:22Speaker 3: in sixteen forty four, English philosopher, quaker and founder of Pennsylvania,
- 1:50:29Speaker 3: William penn was born on this day. Oh wow, that's right.
- 1:50:32Speaker 3: Here are three fun facts about Pennsylvania and one liberty
- 1:50:35Speaker 3: bell of a lie, buddy, we're talking about Pennsylvania. Which
- 1:50:38Speaker 3: one of these is not true? Number one, the first
- 1:50:41Speaker 3: paid fire department was established in Philadelphia in sixteen seventy eight.
- 1:50:47Speaker 3: Number two, the first piano in America was made by
- 1:50:50Speaker 3: Johann Barrant in Philadelphia. Number three the very first computer,

- 1:51:07Speaker 3: for business in nineteen o nine. Which of those is
- 1:51:10Speaker 3: a lie?
- 1:51:12Speaker 4: The third one?
- 1:51:13Speaker 3: No, that's absolutely true.
- 1:51:14Speaker 7: Well you thought.
- 1:51:15Speaker 8: Uh.
- 1:51:16Speaker 1: The very first.
- 1:51:17Speaker 3: Computer, the Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer, was built by

- 1:51:33Speaker 8: Jimmy?
- 1:51:34Speaker 1: Hey good man.
- 1:51:34Speaker 3: We're talking about Pennsylvania here. Which one of these is
- 1:51:37Speaker 3: not true? Number one? The first paid fire department was
- 1:51:40Speaker 3: established in Philadelphia in sixteen seventy eight. Number two, the
- 1:51:44Speaker 3: very first piano made in America was made by Johann
- 1:51:47Speaker 3: Barrent in Philadelphia. Or lastly, Pennsylvania has the oldest gas
- 1:51:51Speaker 3: station in the US, opening for business in nineteen o nine.
- 1:51:56Speaker 3: I think it's gonna be the last one. No, that's
- 1:51:58Speaker 3: absolutely true. They have the very first gas station in America.
- 1:52:02Speaker 3: It opened for business in nineteen o nine. Uh, two
- 1:52:07Speaker 3: three or two four or five? Let's go two?
- 1:52:11Speaker 8: Two?
- 1:52:11Speaker 1: Is Nate and Claremont.
- 1:52:13Speaker 3: Oh we just did him?
- 1:52:15Speaker 1: Just kidding? Who is this?
- 1:52:20Speaker 3: Nate and Claimont I'm gonna put you on the hold.
- 1:52:22Speaker 1: Do we just do it? Nate and Claremont?
- 1:52:23Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:52:23Speaker 1: There you picked two twice?
- 1:52:25Speaker 4: All right.
- 1:52:25Speaker 1: I gotta hang up on this guy. No, I don't
- 1:52:27Speaker 1: think I did.
- 1:52:27Speaker 3: I thought I got number three. There, let's go number four.
- 1:52:29Speaker 3: Who's on four? Number four is going to be Clay
- 1:52:32Speaker 3: in winter spring? Hey Clay? How you doing, buddy? I'm
- 1:52:34Speaker 3: doing great. Good to hear that, buddy. We got a
- 1:52:36Speaker 3: Halloween hah, Knights on the on the line here for you.
- 1:52:39Speaker 3: You got a fifty to fifty shot? Which one of
- 1:52:40Speaker 3: these about Pennsylvania is not true? Number one the first
- 1:52:43Speaker 3: paid fire department was established in Philadelphia in sixteen seventy eight.
- 1:52:47Speaker 3: Or lastly, the first piano built in America was made
- 1:52:50Speaker 3: by Johann Barrant in Philly.
- 1:52:53Speaker 1: And I hope it's number one. It is number one.
- 1:52:55Speaker 1: You're a winner, buddy.

- 1:53:05Speaker 3: for playing, buddy, and thanks for listening. We appreciate that.
- 1:53:07Speaker 3: Every single day of the week, make sure to go
- 1:53:10Speaker 3: to the l Rtiste House. Yes, that's the best one.
- 1:53:13Speaker 3: That's the one that everyone has been talking about. Think
- 1:53:16Speaker 3: that's the one. My wife was talking about as well,
- 1:53:17Speaker 3: and she said the scare zones were great this year
- 1:53:19Speaker 3: as well.
- 1:53:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:53:21Speaker 1: My wife is like, she's an artist, you know, so
- 1:53:23Speaker 1: she's like, there's the Spanish Art House. We got to
- 1:53:25Speaker 1: go to that one, and I'm like, that sounds lame,
- 1:53:27Speaker 1: And then we went in there and it was easily
- 1:53:29Speaker 1: the best one. That's low down. The paintings come to life,
- 1:53:31Speaker 1: which super cool.
- 1:53:32Speaker 3: Very cool. Some other things you may not know about
- 1:53:34Speaker 3: the state of Pennsylvania. Before we get to the top
- 1:53:36Speaker 3: of the hour, we get some ross thoughts. By the
- 1:53:39Speaker 3: by the way, the first the first paid fire department
- 1:53:43Speaker 3: was that's a lie, but that was in Boston. The
- 1:53:47Speaker 3: first volunteer fire department was in Philadelphia. Oh okay, all right.
- 1:53:51Speaker 3: The first department store in America, Wannamakers, was open in
- 1:53:54Speaker 3: eighteen seventy six in Philly. In nineteen fifty four, at
- 1:53:59Speaker 3: Arsenal Elementary School in Pittsburgh, students receive this for the
- 1:54:03Speaker 3: very first time, lunch, apples, milk, homework. The polio vaccine,
- 1:54:11Speaker 3: Oh yeah, the polio vaccine was issued for the very
- 1:54:14Speaker 3: first time at an elementary school in Pittsburgh in nineteen
- 1:54:17Speaker 3: fifty four. I wonder if it was as controversial.
- 1:54:21Speaker 1: No no, no Internet.
- 1:54:24Speaker 3: Ye, when your is twisted into a pretzel, you're looking
- 1:54:26Speaker 3: for anything to help.

- 1:54:32Speaker 3: Pennsylvania produces sixty percent of all of this sold in America.
- 1:54:36Speaker 3: It's a food item, Amish food apples, going back to back, beer, chocolate,
- 1:54:45Speaker 3: they grow and it rings too much.
- 1:54:48Speaker 1: They grow with rings too much. Whiskey corn right.
- 1:54:52Speaker 3: Pennsylvania produces sixty percent of all the mushrooms that you
- 1:54:55Speaker 3: eat in America. White button mushrooms, not those, but those
- 1:55:00Speaker 3: are so good. Philadelphia's Eastern State Penitentiary had indoor plumbing
- 1:55:05Speaker 3: and central heating before the White House did. Damn. And lastly,
- 1:55:09Speaker 3: the very first commercial radio station in America was in Pennsylvania.
- 1:55:15Speaker 3: There you have, Ross was coming up with thoughts. Well,
- 1:55:18Speaker 3: had a big parent day, Big Dad day?
- 1:55:21Speaker 10: Oh?
- 1:55:21Speaker 3: Really, the datist of all days? What could that be?
- 1:55:25Speaker 3: The datist of all days? And it's not the delivery day.
- 1:55:28Speaker 5: We've been pasting that Yep, yep, he's already here. Something
- 1:55:31Speaker 5: happened last night, and boy was it a plot twist.
- 1:55:34Speaker 5: If you are doing the math, and if you are
- 1:55:37Speaker 5: invested in any bit of my family's life. He is
- 1:55:40Speaker 5: thirteen months old, which is around the time window that
- 1:55:43Speaker 5: a certain big event may happen. And I will tell
- 1:55:47Speaker 5: you all about it after the break, right, Jimmy jams, what.
- 1:55:56Speaker 3: Is the least I spared on something that makes me
- 1:56:00Speaker 3: incredibly happy? Well, you know, it boils down to one thing,
- 1:56:06Speaker 3: that good old Devil's let it a hippie salad. It's
- 1:56:11Speaker 3: so good. All right, Welcome back to the Jim Goldberg Show.
- 1:56:15Speaker 3: Real Radio one er four point one. Cash is your

- 1:56:30Speaker 3: and Ross has some thoughts.
- 1:56:37Speaker 1: It's weird.
- 1:56:38Speaker 10: Oh yeah, it's funny. It's also brought to you by
- 1:56:41Speaker 10: Sometimes it's Ross spelled like sauce injured on the go.
- 1:56:47Speaker 10: It's Ross thoughts just call mode.
- 1:56:49Speaker 1: That is right.
- 1:56:50Speaker 5: Ross Hoffs is brought to you by Personal injury Attorney
- 1:56:53Speaker 5: modu Wit. If you're in a slip and fall car accident,
- 1:56:55Speaker 5: give him a ring a little dingy. Do I have
- 1:57:00Speaker 5: a intense day? Yesterday? By old Boy? Really remarkable, historic, crazy?
- 1:57:10Speaker 1: No, No, what I mean not?
- 1:57:13Speaker 5: I think. I think the last time I ran was
- 1:57:15Speaker 5: like two weeks ago. That's my response. Sounded like it
- 1:57:17Speaker 5: was like years. But no, I still run, just not
- 1:57:20Speaker 5: as much as I want to. But last night it
- 1:57:22Speaker 5: was just sometimes in parenthood, this is what I've learned.
- 1:57:25Speaker 5: You don't know what day you're going to get.
- 1:57:28Speaker 3: You wake up every morning with that.
- 1:57:30Speaker 5: You think life is like a box of chocolates. A
- 1:57:33Speaker 5: kid is like a buffet of chocolates. You have no
- 1:57:37Speaker 5: idea what your Monday, Wednesday, Saturday has in store, because
- 1:57:43Speaker 5: the foundation of the trajectory of your day is now
- 1:57:47Speaker 5: your child. If they're having a good day, dude, you're
- 1:57:51Speaker 5: having a great day. If you're having a bad day,
- 1:57:54Speaker 5: then guess what. That's the fifth diaper this hour.
- 1:57:57Speaker 3: That's right, and they could go to bed perfectly fine,
- 1:57:59Speaker 3: wake up with a hundred more fever. You never have
- 1:58:01Speaker 3: a clue when that's gonna happen. It is now in
- 1:58:03Speaker 3: living breathing variable.
- 1:58:05Speaker 5: Well, I am sad to say and sad to report
- 1:58:08Speaker 5: that yesterday was not a good day.
- 1:58:10Speaker 1: Yesterday was weird. It was just me and him.
- 1:58:12Speaker 5: It was a daddy Sunday, and everything was going great.
- 1:58:15Speaker 5: I got him down for two naps. He woke up
- 1:58:17Speaker 5: at four point thirty, which is perfect for him to
- 1:58:20Speaker 5: have another wake window, and then pass out at eight o'clock,
- 1:58:23Speaker 5: which is about his bedtime. Right now, eight o'clock wakes
- 1:58:26Speaker 5: up six am.
- 1:58:27Speaker 1: Bag.
- 1:58:28Speaker 5: Now everything's going to plan. However, eight o'clock rolls around.
- 1:58:32Speaker 3: He is not going to sleep.
- 1:58:34Speaker 5: There's nothing worse than trying to put a baby to sleep. Man,
- 1:58:38Speaker 5: And you realize that you really need to cut your
- 1:58:42Speaker 5: dog's nails. Yeah, because they keep clipping and clap. Oh,
- 1:58:47Speaker 5: the old tip of tappy waking the kid up. It's
- 1:58:49Speaker 5: just now it's a fifteen eight thirty. Next thing I know, wife,
- 1:58:53Speaker 5: he's in the room. I'm in the room where tag
- 1:58:55Speaker 5: teaming trying to put this baby to sleep.
- 1:58:57Speaker 3: He's not even rubbing his eyes yet.
- 1:58:58Speaker 2: Not.
- 1:58:59Speaker 1: I mean why wait, so eyes too?
- 1:59:01Speaker 3: Ok?
- 1:59:01Speaker 5: You know it's even worse it's crying. We've hit we've
- 1:59:06Speaker 5: crossed the threshold of rubbing eyes and now we are
- 1:59:10Speaker 5: just crying. We are suffering as this baby continues to breathe.
- 1:59:15Speaker 5: All parties involved. And then I am holding the baby.
- 1:59:18Speaker 5: I decide to put the baby down. I pick them up,
- 1:59:21Speaker 5: I'm trying, I'm rocking. I give him to my wife
- 1:59:24Speaker 5: as I tap out. My wife then puts them down
- 1:59:27Speaker 5: on the ground and he stands.
- 1:59:29Speaker 1: He stood before step step step step step fall. Wait
- 1:59:38Speaker 1: a second, what was that? That was five steps?
- 1:59:42Speaker 5: He's never like, we're we're on a knice edge of stress,
- 1:59:46Speaker 5: and like, all right, just try to get this baby asleep.
- 1:59:49Speaker 3: And like I said, you have no idea what your
- 1:59:52Speaker 3: day is in store.
- 1:59:54Speaker 1: You just never know.
- 1:59:55Speaker 5: We go from running out of patience to all of
- 1:59:58Speaker 5: a sudden, both of us on our butts in the
- 2:00:01Speaker 5: nursery with our legs spread like like two goals basically,
- 2:00:05Speaker 5: and now we are.
- 2:00:06Speaker 1: Just taking turns, just sending him back and forth.
- 2:00:09Speaker 5: Back and forth, step step step step step in the darkness,
- 2:00:15Speaker 5: way past his bedtime. I am proud to say that
- 2:00:18Speaker 5: my son Miles took his first steps. Then really starts
- 2:00:25Speaker 5: and I don't know if his steps were even walking,
- 2:00:29Speaker 5: because this is a brisk jog.
- 2:00:31Speaker 1: I am doomed.
- 2:00:32Speaker 3: If his first steps were that level of nph, that
- 2:00:38Speaker 3: miles per hour.
- 2:00:39Speaker 5: I'm in trouble because he's got this weird little side, straight, little.
- 2:00:43Speaker 3: Crab action, a little quick frankenstein, that very much self,
- 2:00:47Speaker 3: very little stuff. Leg stumbled.
- 2:00:51Speaker 1: That that's him.
- 2:00:52Speaker 3: They do a little drunk walk.
- 2:00:53Speaker 5: It is a heavy drunk walk, but it's also like
- 2:00:56Speaker 5: a heavy drunk strafe right now.
- 2:00:58Speaker 3: I'll never forget that. I'll never forget.
- 2:01:01Speaker 5: I've never had such an emotional you turn in my
- 2:01:04Speaker 5: entire life of you gotta go to bed, Bud. I'm
- 2:01:07Speaker 5: running out of patience. I've been looking after you all day.
- 2:01:09Speaker 1: Wife.
- 2:01:10Speaker 5: You worked, We're tired. We won our break, and looking
- 2:01:14Speaker 5: at the clock, it is time for our break. Right
- 2:01:18Speaker 5: It's like a dog with a treat after it's going
- 2:01:20Speaker 5: to the bathroom exactly.
- 2:01:21Speaker 3: We want that treat. There's nothing else gonna happen.
- 2:01:23Speaker 5: And our treat is you go to bed, and then
- 2:01:26Speaker 5: we go out on the couch and chill and co
- 2:01:28Speaker 5: exist and talk and just relax and distress and then
- 2:01:32Speaker 5: just out of nowhere, that's when he decides to start
- 2:01:35Speaker 5: taking his first.
- 2:01:36Speaker 3: Walks, his first steps.
- 2:01:38Speaker 5: I mean it was breathtaking, and it was also in
- 2:01:41Speaker 5: the darkness, so I never actually saw it. All I
- 2:01:45Speaker 5: saw was a silhouette of a little creepy, drunk shadow
- 2:01:49Speaker 5: looking like an uncle showing up at three in the morning. Well,
- 2:01:52Speaker 5: chucky doll, a little chucky doll walking towards me. Bottle
- 2:01:55Speaker 5: it up, put it in a syringe, inject it into
- 2:01:59Speaker 5: my veins.
- 2:02:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:02:00Speaker 1: Top five moment in my life easily. Yeah.
- 2:02:03Speaker 5: And I think what also made it even hit that
- 2:02:06Speaker 5: much harder was because it was not a good night.
- 2:02:10Speaker 5: So if I'm kind of in a hole and then
- 2:02:13Speaker 5: all of a sudden the breaking news that my son
- 2:02:15Speaker 5: has did it, you know, and a kind of on schedule,
- 2:02:18Speaker 5: maybe even a little head thirteen months old, and this
- 2:02:21Speaker 5: guy's got a good four mile an hour, brisk old man,
- 2:02:24Speaker 5: weighted ankle jog.
- 2:02:26Speaker 3: And he had a gigantic smile on his face. He
- 2:02:29Speaker 3: was super happy himself. He was very proud.
- 2:02:31Speaker 1: He is very proud.
- 2:02:32Speaker 5: And to all the parents who have a twenty five
- 2:02:36Speaker 5: year old, I ask you to hop in your little
- 2:02:39Speaker 5: mental time machine and go back to that moment for me,
- 2:02:42Speaker 5: because that's where I'm at right now, and I'm trying
- 2:02:46Speaker 5: to blow the dust off of those memories for you,
- 2:02:48Speaker 5: just to bring you back and to wherever the situation
- 2:02:51Speaker 5: you were at when you saw your baby's first steps. Yeah,
- 2:02:54Speaker 5: because man lightning in a bottle, I will forever chase
- 2:02:57Speaker 5: that dragon.
- 2:02:58Speaker 1: What's next. It's all downhill from here right would work
- 2:03:02Speaker 1: on somebody else's kid, Like if somebody was like, I
- 2:03:04Speaker 1: think my kid's gonna walk, roscher gonna come over and
- 2:03:06Speaker 1: see this.
- 2:03:07Speaker 5: I honestly it's not gonna be the same, but I
- 2:03:11Speaker 5: still might say yes, as long as they're not weirded
- 2:03:13Speaker 5: out by because it is as I mean, what's a
- 2:03:19Speaker 5: bigger first than steps?
- 2:03:22Speaker 3: Well, I mean, you know, first words are are interesting
- 2:03:24Speaker 3: because then you you know the child is telling you
- 2:03:27Speaker 3: things it wants, how it feels, you know what it's doing,
- 2:03:30Speaker 3: and stuff like that, like recognizing people in the family
- 2:03:34Speaker 3: and you know, forming those relationships because you know your
- 2:03:37Speaker 3: voice allows you to do that a little. I mean
- 2:03:39Speaker 3: that is, I think the walking thing may be a
- 2:03:41Speaker 3: little bit bigger than.
- 2:03:42Speaker 1: That, And I can tell you why you might feel
- 2:03:43Speaker 1: that way.
- 2:03:44Speaker 5: I know why I think bigging or walking is the
- 2:03:48Speaker 5: biggest first step. Send them to the store for beer,
- 2:03:50Speaker 5: no pun intended, But no, it's because talking.
- 2:03:56Speaker 1: Does that count? Mom?
- 2:03:59Speaker 8: Mom?
- 2:04:00Speaker 1: Does that count? No? No, no, no, no no. But
- 2:04:02Speaker 1: you see where I'm geting at.
- 2:04:03Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, walking is walking right right.
- 2:04:06Speaker 5: There is no subjectivity when it comes to being bipedal.
- 2:04:12Speaker 3: Yeah, because I think the first words for the kid
- 2:04:14Speaker 3: for my kids were like, it's food related, you know, juice,
- 2:04:17Speaker 3: you know, stuff like that. They would just say the
- 2:04:19Speaker 3: stuff they wanted.
- 2:04:21Speaker 1: I mean he's also got something.
- 2:04:23Speaker 5: Yeah, that's also I mean he's got his first word,
- 2:04:27Speaker 5: his first word. And man, if this isn't, if this
- 2:04:30Speaker 5: isn't a nomen for my next twenty.
- 2:04:33Speaker 3: Years, buckle up. His first words. His first word was go.
- 2:04:37Speaker 5: Oh really, he can only say the word go. Well,
- 2:04:40Speaker 5: the cool thing is I'll give you some I'll give
- 2:04:41Speaker 5: you a little help here.
- 2:04:42Speaker 3: Right. So, with the walking thing become, the bedtime will
- 2:04:46Speaker 3: be way easier because the child's gonna be very tired.
- 2:04:49Speaker 3: The walking around, learning how to do that, getting your
- 2:04:50Speaker 3: balance takes a lot out of them.
- 2:04:52Speaker 1: That's awesome.
- 2:04:53Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, So the he's going to sleep a lot
- 2:04:55Speaker 3: better now because he doesn't have that whole thing, and
- 2:04:57Speaker 3: and the walking will be it look, and I'll be
- 2:04:59Speaker 3: honest with you.
- 2:05:00Speaker 8: You will.
- 2:05:01Speaker 3: You are going to be way more cognizant of his
- 2:05:05Speaker 3: presence now because it takes no time at all for
- 2:05:08Speaker 3: them to get out of your out of your you know,
- 2:05:11Speaker 3: out of your area. There and zero is just like that,
- 2:05:13Speaker 3: and they're curious about everything. Not to the old parents,
- 2:05:15Speaker 3: but to the older parents.
- 2:05:17Speaker 5: Thank you for blowing the dust off of that little memory,
- 2:05:21Speaker 5: all right, and to the new parents, the people who
- 2:05:23Speaker 5: are about to be parents, right, I give you a
- 2:05:27Speaker 5: heads up, little insight from my thirteen month experience with it.
- 2:05:32Speaker 1: Walking is the best. It was the coolest thing. It
- 2:05:36Speaker 1: made all of.
- 2:05:36Speaker 5: These hard nights, for some strange reason beyond worth it.
- 2:05:40Speaker 5: And it made that stressful night of like, dude, you've
- 2:05:43Speaker 5: got to go to sleep, to skirt you turn. Oh
- 2:05:46Speaker 5: my god, my wife and I are crying because we've
- 2:05:48Speaker 5: gotten him to stay alive to the point of walking.
- 2:05:51Speaker 5: You cried a little bit, all right, those are out
- 2:05:57Speaker 5: well now, I got to.
- 2:05:58Speaker 1: Make you feel like a villa need to do much.
- 2:06:04Speaker 1: He did all the work. Thank you.

- 2:09:17Speaker 3: and how you can make your life better by tending
- 2:09:19Speaker 3: to your money a little bit better. We do have
- 2:09:21Speaker 3: some live events coming up soon. We'll talk about those
- 2:09:23Speaker 3: in a little bit. We also have a question from
- 2:09:24Speaker 3: the listeners as well. How you doing, buddy, I'm doing awesome. Good,
- 2:09:27Speaker 3: good to be in the studio, good to see everybody.
- 2:09:29Speaker 1: Yeah. So we had a question last week.
- 2:09:31Speaker 11: Somebody said what I think the question was, I don't
- 2:09:34Speaker 11: have access to a standard four oh one K what
- 2:09:36Speaker 11: I assume what I assume they meant is their employer
- 2:09:39Speaker 11: doesn't offer one, and there's about thirty to forty percent
- 2:09:43Speaker 11: of employers who don't, which is unfortunate. So the question
- 2:09:47Speaker 11: if we answered that question, which is I work somewhere,
- 2:09:49Speaker 11: I get a W two, but I don't have a
- 2:09:51Speaker 11: four oh one K. Obviously, the iray is a great
- 2:09:53Speaker 11: option for you. You can put up to seventy five
- 2:09:55Speaker 11: hundred dollars a year into your own IRA. The traditional
- 2:09:57Speaker 11: IRA is deductible, as everybody knows. Or you can do
- 2:09:59Speaker 11: a IRA which is not deductible, but your assets grow
- 2:10:04Speaker 11: tax free forever. So you know, you can choose from
- 2:10:07Speaker 11: one of those two options. You can go to your
- 2:10:08Speaker 11: local bank, your credit union, your local brokerage, whatever. There's
- 2:10:11Speaker 11: numerous places you can open that up. The other point
- 2:10:14Speaker 11: to maybe make their is if you're self employed, you
- 2:10:16Speaker 11: have your own plumbing business, your own electrical contract or
- 2:10:19Speaker 11: whatever it is you do, you poor concrete, whatever the
- 2:10:21Speaker 11: thing may be, you may say, well, could I have
- 2:10:24Speaker 11: my own four A one K? And surprisingly the answer
- 2:10:26Speaker 11: is yes, you can develop your own four A one K.
- 2:10:28Speaker 11: There's solo k's out there, there's a step program, a
- 2:10:31Speaker 11: Simplified Employee pension program. These are all available through your
- 2:10:35Speaker 11: local again brokerage firm, your bank, or your credit union.
- 2:10:38Speaker 11: So if you feel like, well, I don't have access
- 2:10:40Speaker 11: to these things, you can pretty much mimic a mimic
- 2:10:44Speaker 11: that effect basically with a four oh one K on
- 2:10:46Speaker 11: your own if you're self employed, or through an IRA
- 2:10:49Speaker 11: or a roth IRA, if you're employed but don't have access.
- 2:10:52Speaker 1: Right right and IRA.
- 2:10:53Speaker 3: When you start putting money in that thing, is that
- 2:10:55Speaker 3: a withdrawal or do you have to do that yourself?
- 2:10:57Speaker 3: Do you set that up to your employer, like, Hey,
- 2:10:59Speaker 3: I've opened up an I and can you do that
- 2:11:01Speaker 3: for people? Like if they came to you and wanted
- 2:11:02Speaker 3: to do that, is that something you do. I'm not
- 2:11:04Speaker 3: one hundred percent sure on that. Yeah, one hundred percent.
- 2:11:06Speaker 1: We can do that. And in fact, that's how my
- 2:11:08Speaker 1: career was built.
- 2:11:08Speaker 11: You know, back in the day, you could only put
- 2:11:10Speaker 11: two back in nineteen eighty seven, when I started one
- 2:11:13Speaker 11: hundred years ago, you can only put two thousand dollars
- 2:11:16Speaker 11: a year into an IRA, and I did a lot
- 2:11:18Speaker 11: of that. It was one hundred and sixty seven dollars
- 2:11:20Speaker 11: a month. I know it by heart.
- 2:11:21Speaker 3: Right.
- 2:11:22Speaker 11: That number has improved or increased since that time. So yes,
- 2:11:26Speaker 11: you can again, you can. You can set it up.
- 2:11:28Speaker 11: People used to do it through an auto draft. Like
- 2:11:30Speaker 11: I know, when I started out in business, I just
- 2:11:32Speaker 11: did an auto draft for my bank account into my
- 2:11:35Speaker 11: IRA every month. That way I knew I would do it. Sure,
- 2:11:38Speaker 11: ye right, it was gone. I couldn't bring it back
- 2:11:39Speaker 11: and that couldn't touch it until I was fifty nine
- 2:11:41Speaker 11: and a half, which I thought was a long way away.
- 2:11:43Speaker 11: Now that I'm sixty, apparently it isn't as far away
- 2:11:47Speaker 11: as it used to be.
- 2:11:48Speaker 1: In fact, I passed. I learned that young. Yeah, thank
- 2:11:50Speaker 1: you making up for ground there.
- 2:11:52Speaker 3: So yeah, So the reality is you can do that,
- 2:11:56Speaker 3: and you should do that if you don't have access
- 2:11:59Speaker 3: to more through your employees. You know, we were talking
- 2:12:01Speaker 3: a little bit earlier before the show and you were like,
- 2:12:04Speaker 3: I want questions from you guys, right, yeah, and I
- 2:12:07Speaker 3: actually do have a question for you. I'm going to
- 2:12:08Speaker 3: put you on the spot, but I do have an
- 2:12:09Speaker 3: interesting question for you because when you're online, and you know,
- 2:12:13Speaker 3: we've talked about this a lot. People go online, they
- 2:12:14Speaker 3: go on their Instagram and they'll see people who do
- 2:12:17Speaker 3: the You know, I'm a financial advisor, formal financial advisor.
- 2:12:20Speaker 3: Here's what I would do if I had two million
- 2:12:21Speaker 3: dollars I wanted to do this. Blah blah blah blah blah.
- 2:12:23Speaker 3: One of the things I hear over and over and
- 2:12:26Speaker 3: over these days is taking your Social Security benefit at
- 2:12:30Speaker 3: sixty two years old and not waiting till full benefit
- 2:12:33Speaker 3: of sixty seven and a half. For people my age,
- 2:12:36Speaker 3: people a little bit younger than me, it's different. And
- 2:12:39Speaker 3: they keep making these arguments about how you take the
- 2:12:41Speaker 3: benefit early, and it is a gross cut of benefit. Sure, now,
- 2:12:45Speaker 3: when you hear stuff like that as a foduchi air
- 2:12:47Speaker 3: and somebody's been doing this, damn near forty years of
- 2:12:49Speaker 3: your life. When you hear stuff like that, and this
- 2:12:51Speaker 3: is for people who go online and see the same stuff,
- 2:12:53Speaker 3: that's really what we're trying to call up here. Right,
- 2:12:55Speaker 3: you see it as well?
- 2:12:56Speaker 4: Right?
- 2:12:57Speaker 1: What do you when you see stuff like that?
- 2:12:59Speaker 3: Is any that valid?
- 2:13:00Speaker 1: Scott?
- 2:13:01Speaker 3: Or are are they trying to just sell you something?
- 2:13:03Speaker 3: What is the purpose that people would say that for?
- 2:13:05Speaker 3: Is it true?
- 2:13:07Speaker 11: I think that what it is is trying to buck
- 2:13:09Speaker 11: traditional wisdom. I think somebody's saying I'm clever. I have
- 2:13:12Speaker 11: discovered that it's better to take it early. And the answer, really,
- 2:13:15Speaker 11: the reality is there is no better.
- 2:13:17Speaker 8: Right.
- 2:13:18Speaker 1: If you want to know when to take it, tell
- 2:13:20Speaker 1: me when you're gonna die. Right, If you can tell me.
- 2:13:22Speaker 11: What day you're gonna die, I can tell you exactly
- 2:13:23Speaker 11: when to take your social security. You're a genius, right, right,
- 2:13:26Speaker 11: If you plan on going parachuting without a parachute, it's
- 2:13:28Speaker 11: on my particular day, then that we will determine how
- 2:13:31Speaker 11: to best take your social security. Short of that, I
- 2:13:34Speaker 11: have always subscribed to the idea of you know, and
- 2:13:37Speaker 11: we've gone through this period of time where mortalities increase.
- 2:13:39Speaker 1: We're all living longer.
- 2:13:40Speaker 11: You know, the average person lives to be, you know,
- 2:13:42Speaker 11: eighty eighty one. It's not uncommon for somebody to live
- 2:13:45Speaker 11: to be ninety or one hundred. The argument I think
- 2:13:47Speaker 11: people are now making, and I'm not saying it's totally invalid.
- 2:13:51Speaker 11: I think the argument they're making, well, if from sixty
- 2:13:53Speaker 11: to seventy or sixty to seventy five, those are your
- 2:13:56Speaker 11: optimal years health wise in terms of your retirement years. Right,
- 2:14:00Speaker 11: once you get around eighty or less mobile, you're gonna
- 2:14:02Speaker 11: travel less so I think that's a valid thing to
- 2:14:05Speaker 11: think about. I think it's a fair thing. But you know,
- 2:14:07Speaker 11: if you're a female, the odds are you're going to
- 2:14:09Speaker 11: live well into your mid eighties, right, So I think
- 2:14:11Speaker 11: that you need to think about the reduction in your
- 2:14:15Speaker 11: income over that period of time. And yes, I think
- 2:14:18Speaker 11: on average, if you don't live to be past say
- 2:14:20Speaker 11: age seventy eight or seventy seven, you probably lost. But
- 2:14:23Speaker 11: you're also dead and don't care, right, so you're not
- 2:14:25Speaker 11: gonna have any regrets at that point. So I would say, again,
- 2:14:28Speaker 11: look at the mortality of your family. If you got
- 2:14:31Speaker 11: if your mom's ninety three and your dad's ninety two
- 2:14:34Speaker 11: and they're still driving around and doing stuff and playing
- 2:14:36Speaker 11: shuffle board or whatever they're doing, you probably want to
- 2:14:39Speaker 11: hold out. Conversely, if people in your family die at
- 2:14:42Speaker 11: sixty eight on a regular basis, I think it makes
- 2:14:45Speaker 11: sense to consider taking it early.
- 2:14:46Speaker 1: I don't one size does not fit all.
- 2:14:48Speaker 11: I will tell you the conventional wisdom in my career
- 2:14:50Speaker 11: has always been to wait and get the maximum benefit.
- 2:14:53Speaker 11: I know that now Instagram and places like that, you'll
- 2:14:55Speaker 11: find people saying the conventional wisdom is wrong, and a
- 2:14:58Speaker 11: lot of that I will tell you just to get it.
- 2:15:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:15:01Speaker 11: The reality is it varies, and it depends on mortality
- 2:15:05Speaker 11: and what's your expectations for your life span.
- 2:15:07Speaker 3: And one of the reasons I wanted you to say
- 2:15:09Speaker 3: that is, you know, you have forty years in this business.
- 2:15:11Speaker 3: You've been successful for forty years at doing this. Having
- 2:15:14Speaker 3: people who listen to the show and are on social
- 2:15:17Speaker 3: media see stuff like this, I wanted somebody with a
- 2:15:20Speaker 3: clarification that would really do it without really wanting anything
- 2:15:23Speaker 3: for it, because you're right. I mean, obviously it says,
- 2:15:25Speaker 3: you know, go to my bio or go go and
- 2:15:27Speaker 3: click below, you know, to find out more about what
- 2:15:29Speaker 3: I'm saying and what I'm doing and stuff. So it's
- 2:15:31Speaker 3: obviously a pitch. I just want people to understand when
- 2:15:33Speaker 3: they see and hear stuff on Instagram, TikTok, whatever the
- 2:15:36Speaker 3: case may be, they probably should do some research on
- 2:15:38Speaker 3: that from people who have actually done this, from people
- 2:15:40Speaker 3: for many, many years.
- 2:15:41Speaker 1: Yeah, Ryan, Yeah, two questions. You're talking about iras. For
- 2:15:45Speaker 1: one case, like I get a four one K with
- 2:15:48Speaker 1: my company here, right, and I put money into that.
- 2:15:50Speaker 1: Am I locked in with like Iheart's version, or could
- 2:15:53Speaker 1: I go to like Edgewater Family Wealth and take it
- 2:15:56Speaker 1: there or.
- 2:15:58Speaker 11: So there's a maybe so and let me answer that
- 2:16:01Speaker 11: for you. So probably not for you because you're younger. Right, So,
- 2:16:05Speaker 11: once somebody most four to oh one k's I won't
- 2:16:07Speaker 11: say all, but most somewhere around age fifty five sixty
- 2:16:11Speaker 11: sixty five. Those are the generally the target areas where
- 2:16:13Speaker 11: they will allow you to roll your money out. So
- 2:16:16Speaker 11: let's say hypothetically you got five hundred thousand dollars in
- 2:16:19Speaker 11: your four oh one K.
- 2:16:19Speaker 1: You've been a great saver.
- 2:16:20Speaker 11: You're sixty two, and you say, you know, I'm getting
- 2:16:23Speaker 11: close to the end zone here, I'm in the red zone.
- 2:16:25Speaker 11: I want to make sure I'm doing exactly what I
- 2:16:26Speaker 11: need to do. I'm going to give them money to
- 2:16:28Speaker 11: a financial advisor that I trust and believe in. You
- 2:16:30Speaker 11: can take the money out of your four oh one K.
- 2:16:32Speaker 11: Every document is different, right, So there's no rule about
- 2:16:36Speaker 11: when you can or cannot do that. It's up to
- 2:16:39Speaker 11: the individual plan. So if for the people listening, if
- 2:16:42Speaker 11: you're sixty and you say, you know, I'd really like
- 2:16:44Speaker 11: to move my money to my financial advisor. This four
- 2:16:46Speaker 11: oh one CA has been great to me. But I
- 2:16:48Speaker 11: think I need more options, or I need more oversight,
- 2:16:51Speaker 11: or whatever your reasons are. You would go to your
- 2:16:53Speaker 11: HR person say what does the document allow? Because each
- 2:16:56Speaker 11: document is different and they can tell you yes, and
- 2:16:59Speaker 11: there are many plans. You're in town Disney, Jarden, Lockeyed
- 2:17:02Speaker 11: that'll allow a person to take their money out at
- 2:17:04Speaker 11: age fifty five or sixty and move it to their
- 2:17:06Speaker 11: financial advisors.
- 2:17:07Speaker 1: So yes, you can't do that.
- 2:17:09Speaker 11: Younger age is probably prior to the age of sixty
- 2:17:12Speaker 11: in most cases, maybe definitely prior to the age of fifty.
- 2:17:14Speaker 1: You probably can't. Let me.
- 2:17:15Speaker 3: Yeah, let me add on that real quick. So let's
- 2:17:17Speaker 3: saty you do that. I'm at that age, right, Let's
- 2:17:18Speaker 3: say I look and I go, you know what, it's
- 2:17:20Speaker 3: about that time. I'm gonna go give my money to Scott.
- 2:17:22Speaker 3: Do I still keep contributing to my four oh one
- 2:17:24Speaker 3: k here on percent? You just still keep and I
- 2:17:26Speaker 3: just give you the mass bulk of it. You invest
- 2:17:29Speaker 3: it and then start providing dividends type thing? How does that?
- 2:17:31Speaker 3: What happens after I give it to you?
- 2:17:32Speaker 1: Typically?
- 2:17:33Speaker 11: So I just I just dealt with somebody from Disney.
- 2:17:35Speaker 11: They came in and they had a million dollars in
- 2:17:36Speaker 11: a four oh one k. They've done obviously an awesome
- 2:17:38Speaker 11: job of saving. But sometimes it's one hundred grand, sometimes
- 2:17:40Speaker 11: it's fifty grand, right, But this person happened.
- 2:17:42Speaker 1: To have a million. They took the million out. We
- 2:17:44Speaker 1: invested it because they've been my client for twenty years
- 2:17:46Speaker 1: and they've been waiting to do this.
- 2:17:47Speaker 3: Well, did they draw snow white?
- 2:17:49Speaker 6: They did?
- 2:17:50Speaker 1: It was Walt Disney himself.
- 2:17:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm like almighty, So you'd.
- 2:17:55Speaker 11: Be surprised how many million dollars four one k's there
- 2:17:58Speaker 11: are out there, but they're so. So what continues to
- 2:18:01Speaker 11: happen is they continue to contribute, Disney conntinues to match
- 2:18:04Speaker 11: that contribution, and then when they finally leave for good,
- 2:18:07Speaker 11: they're gonna take whatever's left. The twenty or thirty or
- 2:18:09Speaker 11: fifty or whatever is left at that point will finally
- 2:18:12Speaker 11: come over. But in the meantime, to make their planning
- 2:18:15Speaker 11: more thorough in detail, they've moved the money over to
- 2:18:18Speaker 11: us because we do all of their planning for them.
- 2:18:20Speaker 11: So absolutely, you can do that, and I'm not saying
- 2:18:22Speaker 11: you should always do that. That's up to you and
- 2:18:24Speaker 11: your comfort with your advisor or your comfort.
- 2:18:26Speaker 1: With the four oh one k.
- 2:18:27Speaker 3: But it has to do with your plan, right, You've
- 2:18:29Speaker 3: said that from the very onset of this segment. Really
- 2:18:30Speaker 3: it has to do with what you want. The hardest
- 2:18:32Speaker 3: question in humanity is what do you really want? So
- 2:18:36Speaker 3: what you would go is like I would come to
- 2:18:37Speaker 3: you and I'd go, hey, look, you know I've got
- 2:18:39Speaker 3: this much my four to one K. This is what
- 2:18:41Speaker 3: I'd like to do, you know, for the rest of
- 2:18:43Speaker 3: my existence. What's the plan? And then you can obviously
- 2:18:46Speaker 3: advise on what we should do from that point.
- 2:18:48Speaker 11: Yeah, I mean, I think it makes it easier for
- 2:18:50Speaker 11: the advisor, not that you need to make it easier
- 2:18:52Speaker 11: on the advisor, but it does help them do what
- 2:18:54Speaker 11: they do because now they're controlling the assets and where
- 2:18:56Speaker 11: the money. If I say to you you need to
- 2:18:58Speaker 11: earn six percent or four percent or whatever, then number
- 2:19:00Speaker 11: is and we've developed a plan to do that. But
- 2:19:02Speaker 11: inside the four h one k I really can't match
- 2:19:04Speaker 11: the asset allocation I've designed for you. Then obviously it
- 2:19:07Speaker 11: makes sense for me to to us to at least
- 2:19:10Speaker 11: discuss moving that money over to the allocation we've built
- 2:19:12Speaker 11: over here.
- 2:19:13Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, wow, that's crazy. Scott Brown in with us
- 2:19:15Speaker 3: Edgewarter Family Wealth Edwarterfamilywealth dot com.
- 2:19:17Speaker 1: Yes, Ryan, so I get a lot of my financial
- 2:19:20Speaker 1: news from TikTok, of course, And there are a lot
- 2:19:23Speaker 1: of scammers. There's a lot of people out there that
- 2:19:25Speaker 1: like every time that day have something, you go click
- 2:19:27Speaker 1: on their profile, they're selling some kind of class. Looking
- 2:19:29Speaker 1: at you, Tyler pis Yeah, well that guy's in a
- 2:19:31Speaker 1: lot of trouble right now.
- 2:19:34Speaker 6: Good.
- 2:19:34Speaker 1: But like they're always offering like numb like a number.
- 2:19:38Speaker 1: They'd be like, I can get you ten percent, Like
- 2:19:40Speaker 1: what is the predatory number that I should be looking
- 2:19:42Speaker 1: out for. It's like somebody's saying, like, hey, I'm doing
- 2:19:43Speaker 1: this plan ten percent every time guaranteed. I mean because
- 2:19:47Speaker 1: you just said six percent, yeah, which which is like
- 2:19:50Speaker 1: like what I from my understand, pretty normal number. When
- 2:19:52Speaker 1: is it?
- 2:19:52Speaker 3: When do you get great? When do the red flags
- 2:19:54Speaker 3: go out?
- 2:19:54Speaker 11: That's a great question, by the way, Well, first of all,
- 2:19:56Speaker 11: any guaranteed number, if somebody says I can get you
- 2:20:00Speaker 11: six percent or eight percent or ten percent guaranteed, go
- 2:20:03Speaker 11: the other direction, right, because that anybody who's this, we
- 2:20:06Speaker 11: don't live in a guaranteed world period, right. Interest rates
- 2:20:09Speaker 11: go up and down bank rates go up and down,
- 2:20:11Speaker 11: the Fed changes, policy changes, markets change. We know historically
- 2:20:14Speaker 11: the S and P five hundreds earned about seven or
- 2:20:16Speaker 11: eight percent a year for eight hundred years right now.
- 2:20:19Speaker 11: So if so, if somebody says I'm gonna get you ten,
- 2:20:23Speaker 11: your alarms ought to be going off in your head.
- 2:20:25Speaker 11: Right Well, wait a minute. The stock market itself has
- 2:20:27Speaker 11: earned seven or eight percent, and you're telling me you
- 2:20:30Speaker 11: can get that. Obviously that's not This is why I
- 2:20:32Speaker 11: tell people all the time. People say, well, Scott, you
- 2:20:33Speaker 11: know you'll tell me when to buy and when to sell. Right,
- 2:20:35Speaker 11: I'm like, if do you think.
- 2:20:37Speaker 1: If I knew that?
- 2:20:38Speaker 11: First of all, if I knew exactly when to buy
- 2:20:40Speaker 11: and exactly when to sell, I would be living on
- 2:20:42Speaker 11: my private island right now.
- 2:20:43Speaker 3: I would not be talking to you. So again, oh
- 2:20:46Speaker 3: you still talk to us?
- 2:20:47Speaker 1: Come on, I might, can I might talk.
- 2:20:49Speaker 3: I talk to demult sell.
- 2:20:53Speaker 11: So the reality is anybody who's guaranteeing listen the old adage.
- 2:20:57Speaker 11: I know it's a cliche. If it sounds too good
- 2:20:58Speaker 11: to be true, it probably is. And I know there's
- 2:21:00Speaker 11: a ton of garbage on TikTok. I know there's a
- 2:21:02Speaker 11: ton of garbage on Instagram. There's no absolutes. That's the
- 2:21:06Speaker 11: one thing that frustrates me when somebody says this is
- 2:21:09Speaker 11: good or this is bad, or this is going to
- 2:21:11Speaker 11: be guaranteed and this is going to be terrible. Listen,
- 2:21:13Speaker 11: it's a variable world. The markets are variable. We know
- 2:21:16Speaker 11: over the long term how things turn out. But guaranteeing
- 2:21:19Speaker 11: somebody a number that's like eight or ten or twelve
- 2:21:21Speaker 11: or fifteen something ridiculous?
- 2:21:23Speaker 1: Is Bernie made off?
- 2:21:25Speaker 6: All? Right?
- 2:21:25Speaker 3: Lit we only get a few minutes, and I know
- 2:21:26Speaker 3: we want to talk about vertical integration. So what is
- 2:21:29Speaker 3: vertical integration? And why would we need to know that?
- 2:21:32Speaker 11: Yeah, so if you have an investment firm that on average,
- 2:21:35Speaker 11: most investment firms are not vertically integrated.
- 2:21:37Speaker 1: Local firms are just not.
- 2:21:38Speaker 11: And what that means is when you go to a
- 2:21:40Speaker 11: financial advisor, they're perfectly nice people. Not I have many
- 2:21:43Speaker 11: friends in the business. They're wonderful people. But they are salespeople, right,
- 2:21:46Speaker 11: So they're selling you a mutual fund. They come in
- 2:21:48Speaker 11: and say you need to earn eight and then they
- 2:21:49Speaker 11: pick a bunch of mutual funds and then they put
- 2:21:51Speaker 11: you in those mutual funds or ETFs or annuities or
- 2:21:53Speaker 11: whatever it is, right, and then they go on about
- 2:21:54Speaker 11: their business. They're not vertically integrated. And what I mean
- 2:21:58Speaker 11: by that is that my firm we manage them. We
- 2:22:00Speaker 11: don't use products. We don't sell mutual funds, we don't.
- 2:22:03Speaker 11: It happens occasionally for reasons that I can't go into,
- 2:22:07Speaker 11: but on average we don't do that. So the reason
- 2:22:11Speaker 11: that's important is because if we manage the money in house,
- 2:22:14Speaker 11: that reduces the cost to the investor.
- 2:22:16Speaker 3: Right.
- 2:22:16Speaker 11: So if you go to an advisor and they say
- 2:22:17Speaker 11: I'm gonna charge you one percent, okay, cool, but then
- 2:22:20Speaker 11: they're also going to put you in some products.
- 2:22:21Speaker 3: To the Jim Colbert Show.
- 2:22:22Speaker 1: There he is.
