- 0:00Speaker 1: I am Sherri Mackey. It is time for us to
- 0:03Speaker 1: go to God in prayer. And as always, I invite
- 0:05Speaker 1: you to join along with me in prayer. And this morning,
- 0:09Speaker 1: I want us to protect our peace. Father God, in
- 0:12Speaker 1: the mighty, matchless, powerful name of Jesus, we come before
- 0:16Speaker 1: you today asking you to guard our hearts, protect our minds,
- 0:19Speaker 1: and give us the wisdom, God, to protect the peace
- 0:22Speaker 1: that you've placed on the inside of us. Lord, your
- 0:24Speaker 1: word says in Isaiah 26 and 3, you will keep
- 0:27Speaker 1: him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you
- 0:30Speaker 1: because they trust in you. And Father, we need that
- 0:33Speaker 1: perfect peace today because sometimes, Lord, we allow people, we
- 0:37Speaker 1: allow circumstances and situations to steal what you freely gave
- 0:41Speaker 1: to us. We allow somebody else's attitude to ruin our day.
- 0:45Speaker 1: We allow a negative comment to disturb our confidence. We
- 0:48Speaker 1: allow yesterday's disappointment to rob us of today's joy. We
- 0:52Speaker 1: allow ourselves to become consumed by things we can't control
- 0:56Speaker 1: but today. Lord, we make a decision. We will protect
- 0:59Speaker 1: our peace. Father, teach us that protecting our peace does
- 1:02Speaker 1: not mean we don't care. It means we understand that
- 1:06Speaker 1: our emotional, spiritual and mental well-being does matter. Help us
- 1:10Speaker 1: recognize when we need to step away from an argument.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Stop explaining ourselves to people who refuse to understand and
- 1:17Speaker 1: establish healthy boundaries without having guilt. Lord, give us the
- 1:21Speaker 1: courage to say no when saying yes is costing us
- 1:23Speaker 1: our peace. Give us discernment to recognize relationships that constantly
- 1:27Speaker 1: drain us. Help us to stop entertaining conversations that produce
- 1:32Speaker 1: nothing but confusion and anger and division. And Father, when
- 1:36Speaker 1: people misunderstand us, help us resist the urge to defend
- 1:40Speaker 1: ourselves to everybody. Remind us that you know our hearts,
- 1:43Speaker 1: you know the truth, and we don't have to chase
- 1:45Speaker 1: the approval of people when we're secure in you. Lord,
- 1:49Speaker 1: protect us from our own thoughts too. Protect us from overthinking.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Protect us from imagining the worst. Protect us from comparing
- 1:56Speaker 1: our lives to other people's lives. Protect us from replaying
- 1:59Speaker 1: the painful conversations over and over again. Help us to
- 2:03Speaker 1: release what we cannot change and trust you with what
- 2:06Speaker 1: we cannot control. When anxiety rises, give us peace. When
- 2:10Speaker 1: anger rises, give us self-control. When disappointment comes, give us perspective.
- 2:14Speaker 1: And when chaos surrounds us, remind us that you are
- 2:17Speaker 1: our refuge. You are our strength. Father, help us to
- 2:20Speaker 1: stop allowing everybody access. to our emotions, to our time,
- 2:24Speaker 1: to our energy, and to our spirit. Oh, God, teach
- 2:28Speaker 1: us that we can love people without allowing their behavior
- 2:31Speaker 1: to control us. We can forgive without returning to unhealthy situations.
- 2:35Speaker 1: We can be kind without abandoning wisdom. We can walk
- 2:39Speaker 1: away without hatred in our hearts. Lord, let our peace
- 2:42Speaker 1: be rooted in you, not in perfect circumstances because people
- 2:45Speaker 1: may change, plans may fail, doors may close, unexpected situations
- 2:50Speaker 1: may arise, but you remain faithful and So today, we
- 2:53Speaker 1: surrender every argument, every worry, every disappointment, and every situation
- 2:58Speaker 1: that has disturbed our peace. We release the need to
- 3:00Speaker 1: control everything. We release the need to have the last word.
- 3:03Speaker 1: We release the burden of carrying what belongs to you. Today, God,
- 3:07Speaker 1: we receive your peace. Father, cover our homes with peace.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Cover our families with peace. Cover our relationships with peace.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Cover our minds with peace. Let peace follow us into
- 3:16Speaker 1: our workspaces, our conversations, our decisions, and our daily lives.
- 3:20Speaker 1: And when something threatens that peace, give us wisdom to
- 3:23Speaker 1: recognize it. The strength to respond appropriately and the faith
- 3:27Speaker 1: to keep our hearts anchored in you. We will not
- 3:30Speaker 1: allow every distraction. to become our emergency. We will not
- 3:34Speaker 1: allow every opinion to become our burden. We will not
- 3:37Speaker 1: allow every battle to steal our peace. And our peace
- 3:41Speaker 1: is precious. Our mind matters. Our hearts matter. And because
- 3:44Speaker 1: we belong to you, we will walk in the peace
- 3:47Speaker 1: that you provide. Lord, let your peace that surpasses all
- 3:50Speaker 1: understanding guard our hearts and our minds through Jesus Christ. Today,
- 3:53Speaker 1: we choose peace. We choose wisdom. We choose to trust
- 3:56Speaker 1: in you. And whatever comes our way, remind us that
- 4:00Speaker 1: we don't have to lose our peace just because life
- 4:02Speaker 1: is not perfect. In the mighty name of Jesus, amen, amen,
- 4:06Speaker 1: and amen.
