Latest / The Mark Simone Show / Hour 1: Is Jessica Tisch leaving?
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: This is seven tor Why the Mark Simoon Show starts.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Now, Hey it's Friday. That's a good news. Another heat
- 0:12Speaker 2: wave day, brutally hot today. If you don't like this weather,
- 0:17Speaker 2: don't even think I'm moving to Florida. This is what
- 0:19Speaker 2: it feels like about half the year, for about six
- 0:23Speaker 2: months a year. This is the weather in Florida. So
- 0:26Speaker 2: we got a lot to get to this, a lot
- 0:28Speaker 2: going on. We'll get to President Trump Iran, We'll get
- 0:30Speaker 2: to the new US Attorney, We'll get to President Trump's birthday.
- 0:34Speaker 2: We'll get to the police commissioner, We'll get to oil,
- 0:37Speaker 2: We'll get to the World Cup, the Knicks, and a
- 0:41Speaker 2: whole lot more. Ran. There is a deal. According to
- 0:45Speaker 2: the White House, there is a deal. They're very close
- 0:48Speaker 2: to signing it. The last night was supposed to be
- 0:51Speaker 2: a huge attack on Iran, just pounding the blank, President
- 0:57Speaker 2: Trump filling in that blank out of Iran, and at
- 1:01Speaker 2: the last minute, apparently they agreed to a deal that
- 1:04Speaker 2: we like and the strike was called off last night.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Now Iran is putting out a phony deal claiming this
- 1:13Speaker 2: is the deal. Apparently it's not. The President immediately putting
- 1:17Speaker 2: out a statement saying that's not the deal they've agreed
- 1:19Speaker 2: to and the version they put out they controlled the
- 1:22Speaker 2: straits of hor Moose. No guarantee on nuclear Well, in
- 1:26Speaker 2: the real deal, this as if they sign it, and
- 1:28Speaker 2: if they sign it, you know Iran they never stick
- 1:30Speaker 2: to anything. But in this deal that supposedly they've agreed to,
- 1:36Speaker 2: they will turn over all nuclear material. We will get
- 1:38Speaker 2: to destroy it all. They will agree to stop financing
- 1:42Speaker 2: terrorism all over the place, from Hesbaloo to the Hooties
- 1:45Speaker 2: and all that stuff. So we'll see what happens. We've
- 1:48Speaker 2: heard this before about being close, but we've never heard
- 1:51Speaker 2: about being disc close. So we'll see what happens. HiT's
- 1:55Speaker 2: the president.
- 1:56Speaker 3: We have a signing soon and and the documents you
- 2:01Speaker 3: are in pretty final shape, so we'll see.
- 2:04Speaker 2: No, that's good, that's good. They will not have a
- 2:07Speaker 2: nuclear weapon.
- 2:08Speaker 3: They've agreed to that there will be no which is
- 2:10Speaker 3: the whole reason, which is a big part of the reason.
- 2:14Speaker 3: They will not only not have they will not purchase
- 2:17Speaker 3: develop in any way any shape, in any way, shape
- 2:20Speaker 3: or form a nuclear weapon. They will not have a
- 2:22Speaker 3: nuclear weapon.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Well, that's the goal. Looks like we'll get there.
- 2:25Speaker 4: So have you actually secured an agreement on the discussions
- 2:29Speaker 4: about the nuclear material and the nuclear negotiation.
- 2:32Speaker 3: Actually on that, and nobody's getting close to it because
- 2:35Speaker 3: it's buried under a mountain.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Basically, yeah, it is buried. It's what they call nuclear dust.
- 2:42Speaker 2: It's quite an engineering feat to go down there and
- 2:45Speaker 2: extract it. But we know how to do that, and
- 2:48Speaker 2: we've got teams that are very good at destroying nuclear material.
- 2:52Speaker 2: We did it before, We did it in Libya when
- 2:54Speaker 2: Kadafi gave up his stuff. So it's just finding it,
- 2:58Speaker 2: getting it, destroying it, no problem, easy to do. Hey,
- 3:01Speaker 2: President Trump needs a new Director of National Intelligence, although
- 3:06Speaker 2: he doesn't really need it. Actually, there's been talk about
- 3:08Speaker 2: just getting rid of that job. There's no need for it.
- 3:11Speaker 2: You have a nine different intelligence agencies reporting to this
- 3:14Speaker 2: one place. But some question whether we it's a job
- 3:19Speaker 2: that was created only in the last few years. A
- 3:24Speaker 2: lot of people think it's just eliminate the job. But
- 3:26Speaker 2: the problem is, as you know, as you've watched the
- 3:29Speaker 2: intelligence community, they're pretty dirty and sleezy. I'm talking about
- 3:32Speaker 2: the Brennans and the Clappers and those sorts. I remember
- 3:36Speaker 2: the ones that tried to rig the election. Those are
- 3:38Speaker 2: the ones that signed that fake letter saying that the
- 3:41Speaker 2: Hunter laptop isn't real, it's Russian disinformation. These are really dirty,
- 3:46Speaker 2: sleezy people in the intelligence world, so you got to
- 3:48Speaker 2: get rid of them. So what the President has done,
- 3:51Speaker 2: he's named as Acting DNI Bill Poulty to go in
- 3:57Speaker 2: there and be the acting director. Now he does look
- 4:00Speaker 2: like he's qualified. He's very very sharp guy, he's very good.
- 4:04Speaker 2: He ran Fanny and Freddie and I mean he's smart guy,
- 4:07Speaker 2: knows how to run stuff, but no intelligence background, and
- 4:12Speaker 2: he's known as a killer, a absolute killer. But his
- 4:16Speaker 2: real job is to go in there and fire a
- 4:18Speaker 2: lot of people. There's a lot of deep state, a
- 4:20Speaker 2: dirty you know Biden Obama operatives in the intelligence community.
- 4:25Speaker 2: That's how you got that fake letter about the laptop.
- 4:28Speaker 2: So his job is to go in there and just
- 4:30Speaker 2: clean house. Fire these people, just get rid of them,
- 4:32Speaker 2: clean it up. Now, the president, this is brilliant, this
- 4:36Speaker 2: is this is you know chess moves on his part.
- 4:40Speaker 2: So he sent this guy in there to do all
- 4:42Speaker 2: the dirty stuff. And then when a new director comes in,
- 4:45Speaker 2: it'll be a much cleaner place and the new director
- 4:48Speaker 2: won't be the guy that fired everybody. So that's a
- 4:51Speaker 2: smart move. None the other thing he's doing. Whoever he nominates,
- 4:54Speaker 2: no matter how qualified, no matter how great. You know,
- 4:57Speaker 2: these Democrats in the Senate are going to try to
- 4:59Speaker 2: blow They're going to go nuts trying to stop the guy,
- 5:03Speaker 2: no matter who it is. So by putting this awful
- 5:07Speaker 2: to them, he's not awful, but to them he's awful.
- 5:10Speaker 2: This awful to them, awful evil Pulty in there, they'll
- 5:14Speaker 2: be desperate to confirm the new nominee just to get
- 5:17Speaker 2: this Poulty out of there. So it's a brilliant move.
- 5:21Speaker 2: The President has nominated Jake Clayton to be the real
- 5:24Speaker 2: and permanent Director of National Intelligence. Clayton is a great guy,
- 5:29Speaker 2: terrific guy. He's been the US attorney here in Manhattan
- 5:33Speaker 2: in the Southern District, and a really really good guy.
- 5:37Speaker 2: So you couldn't have a better choice.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Totally there for a little while, he's running it for
- 5:40Speaker 3: a short while. Well, we get a very talented person,
- 5:43Speaker 3: Jake Clayton, and as you know, Jay Clinton's an incredible talent,
- 5:46Speaker 3: head of celebrant Bromwell, he was out of the SEC's
- 5:51Speaker 3: now Southern District. I mean, nobody has better credentials, but
- 5:56Speaker 3: Bill will run for Short. Well, he's done a fantastic job,
- 5:58Speaker 3: but Fannie may for mac.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Yeah, so not. The only bad part is we lose.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Said Jake Clayton, as the US attorney here in the
- 6:05Speaker 2: Southern District, he's been great. And he's also said as
- 6:09Speaker 2: the US attorney that if Mamdannie lets crime get out
- 6:12Speaker 2: of control, his office will step in and start arresting people.
- 6:15Speaker 2: So hopefully the President appoints a new US attorney with
- 6:19Speaker 2: the same philosophy, so he'll come in. They got to
- 6:21Speaker 2: get him confirmed by the Senate, but now they'll be
- 6:24Speaker 2: eager to confirm him just to get rid of Poulty. Now,
- 6:28Speaker 2: listen to this is these crazy Democrats. Listen to Schumer.
- 6:31Speaker 3: Pulty's got to go before anything else should happen.
- 6:34Speaker 2: It can happen.
- 6:35Speaker 1: But are you concerned that by drawing this line, Democrats
- 6:37Speaker 1: could be opening up the country to a national security concern.
- 6:40Speaker 5: We have great national series concerns with Pulty.
- 6:45Speaker 2: It's great, just a o'royality. There's a lying, thieving, rotten Adam Schiff.
- 6:49Speaker 6: Well, I think what the President wants is he wants
- 6:51Speaker 6: Pulty in place. Beginning in the middle of June, and
- 6:55Speaker 6: then however long it takes to confirm. If Jake Clayton
- 6:59Speaker 6: is confirmed, Poulty would serve in that role. He would
- 7:02Speaker 6: be free to weaponize the date of the American people.
- 7:05Speaker 6: He would be free to alter conclusions of intelligence reports
- 7:09Speaker 6: to suit the President's preferences. He would be free to
- 7:12Speaker 6: engage in election interference.
- 7:17Speaker 2: They come up with all these scenarios, they work themselves
- 7:20Speaker 2: into a frenzy, and then they hear all this stuff
- 7:22Speaker 2: on Morning Joe and they get all whipped up about this.
- 7:26Speaker 2: But it's a brilliant move on the President's part. Now,
- 7:30Speaker 2: they're sure not going to take their time on confirming
- 7:35Speaker 2: Jay Clayton're gonna want to get this Pulty out of there. Hey,
- 7:37Speaker 2: big weekend at the White House, the big UFC fight
- 7:41Speaker 2: that's taking place on the White House lawn. They've built
- 7:43Speaker 2: this enormous, spectacular structure and it'll be on television Sunday night.
- 7:50Speaker 2: I think it's eight o'clock. But you might want to
- 7:52Speaker 2: watch this even before the fight because it's going to
- 7:54Speaker 2: be absolutely dazzling. The plan and all kinds of things.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Some of these fighters gonna skydive and parachute into the ring,
- 8:03Speaker 2: they've been practicing this. In fact, they had the airspace
- 8:05Speaker 2: over DC closed yesterday to practice these parachute parachuting into
- 8:11Speaker 2: the arena. I mean, it's gonna be really dazzling. So
- 8:13Speaker 2: this will be on television Sunday night. The President will
- 8:16Speaker 2: be there. They've invited tons of people, and it's going
- 8:19Speaker 2: to be a spectacular event on the White House lawn.
- 8:22Speaker 2: It will drive Democrats nuts, the Trump haters, the liberals,
- 8:26Speaker 2: they'll go crazy. They don't like to see people having fun.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Oh they don't like to see Ultimate Fighting Championship. Oh
- 8:33Speaker 2: they don't like that. But people smiling, laughing, having fun.
- 8:37Speaker 2: The other thing that'll get them nuts. It's President Trump's
- 8:39Speaker 2: birthday Sunday. It's his eightieth birthday, eightieth birthday, so part
- 8:47Speaker 2: of this will all be his birthday celebration. He's had
- 8:50Speaker 2: a lot of He's not a big guy on birthdays.
- 8:53Speaker 2: You know, there's some people that announce their birthday constantly.
- 8:55Speaker 2: They have birthday week, birthday month. I couldn't pen it
- 9:00Speaker 2: tension of birthdays. He's kind of like that too. And
- 9:04Speaker 2: women go nuts with birthdays. You look at them on
- 9:07Speaker 2: their Instagram. It's my birthday month. Every night there's another dinner.
- 9:11Speaker 2: They're in a restaurant. You know. The other thing. If
- 9:12Speaker 2: you ask a woman how old she is, she'd be
- 9:14Speaker 2: so offended she didn't want it. But if it's the birthday,
- 9:18Speaker 2: they got balloons, and they got one of those balloons
- 9:20Speaker 2: with the age like a five to Oh the balloon
- 9:23Speaker 2: is up there for the whole restaurant to see. But oh,
- 9:26Speaker 2: the Trump has had birthday parties. I remember it would
- 9:30Speaker 2: have been ninety six. I remember going to his fiftieth
- 9:34Speaker 2: birthday party. It was in the lobby of Trump Tower,
- 9:37Speaker 2: which is a huge place, well, a lobby in the base,
- 9:39Speaker 2: you know where the escalator is. It was an enormous
- 9:42Speaker 2: birthday party. Hundreds of people remember Earth the Kits sang
- 9:48Speaker 2: at it, the Great Earth of Kit. Tony Bennett was there.
- 9:51Speaker 2: It was a great painter. He painted a painting a
- 9:54Speaker 2: mar Algo. That was the birthday President President Trump. I
- 9:58Speaker 2: remember one hundreds and hundreds of gold balloons coming down.
- 10:02Speaker 2: But that's thirty years ago, nineteen ninety six. I don't
- 10:06Speaker 2: think he's had a not really not a big birthday
- 10:09Speaker 2: party since then. But it'll be a Sunday, so that
- 10:12Speaker 2: will be good. Hey, the SpaceX Ipo has opened. I
- 10:17Speaker 2: think it's still one thirty five, although it's not. I
- 10:21Speaker 2: don't know if it's fully trading yet. The SpaceX Ipo,
- 10:25Speaker 2: that's Elon Muck's new company. He rang the opening bell
- 10:29Speaker 2: this morning and let me see. Yeah, it's still at
- 10:32Speaker 2: one thirty five. It doesn't look like it's really trading yet.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Nothing of it, no data available yet. Hey, oil is
- 10:38Speaker 2: way down. Remember when it went up ten dollars a
- 10:42Speaker 2: barrel and it was the lead story on every network newscast.
- 10:45Speaker 2: It's down thirty dollars a barrel since that point, since
- 10:49Speaker 2: the highest point, it's down thirty dollars a barrel. No coverage,
- 10:53Speaker 2: no mention of it. They don't even mention it on
- 10:55Speaker 2: the news. They don't want to bring that up. So
- 11:00Speaker 2: be a lot of stuff this weekend. So Saturday night,
- 11:03Speaker 2: you know, the World Cup, the FIFA World Cup is on.
- 11:06Speaker 2: It was in Mexico. They're doing different cities around the US.
- 11:09Speaker 2: It's going to be in Philadelphia, it's going to be
- 11:11Speaker 2: in Seattle. But Saturday Night is New Jersey. It's not
- 11:16Speaker 2: the Metal Lands. It's in the Metal Lands. What they
- 11:19Speaker 2: call that stadium, MetLife. You're not allowed to call it
- 11:21Speaker 2: MetLife for FIFA World Cup. They have this rule, no advertising,
- 11:26Speaker 2: no brand name, so it's going to be called metal
- 11:30Speaker 2: Lands Stadium for the night. But it'll be Saturday night.
- 11:33Speaker 2: I think it's early six o'clock and then you got
- 11:36Speaker 2: the Knicks at eight thirty. That's in San Antonio, so
- 11:40Speaker 2: that'll everybody'll be watching that, and the Knicks could clinch
- 11:42Speaker 2: the whole thing Saturday night. Then Sunday got the big
- 11:45Speaker 2: UFC fight. That's great news. So keep an eye on
- 11:49Speaker 2: all of that stuff. If the Knicks don't win Saturday
- 11:53Speaker 2: night at some point, if they if the series stretches out,
- 11:56Speaker 2: they'll come back to Madison Square Garden. I don't know
- 12:00Speaker 2: what's going to happen as far as watch parties and
- 12:02Speaker 2: all that. James Dolan, owner of Madison Square Garden, and
- 12:06Speaker 2: the Knicks kind of telling off the mayor and the
- 12:10Speaker 2: police commissioner for giving him the hard time with the
- 12:14Speaker 2: frozen zones and obstructing the watch parties and all that,
- 12:18Speaker 2: and Dolan actually saying problem is them, this mayor, this
- 12:22Speaker 2: police commissioner don't have much experience. They're inexperienced, they don't
- 12:26Speaker 2: handle these kind of things. The strong statement from him.
- 12:29Speaker 2: But obviously the mayor has no experience, never even had
- 12:32Speaker 2: a job. The police commissioner's really not very experienced when
- 12:36Speaker 2: it comes to police stuff. She had been previously years
- 12:40Speaker 2: ago in the NYPD, but it was in an it job,
- 12:44Speaker 2: nothing to do with policing. There's also rumors all over
- 12:49Speaker 2: the place that Jessica Tish may be leaving, that she'll
- 12:53Speaker 2: wait till after the World Cup. Just rumors, but they're
- 12:56Speaker 2: rumors from pretty high places that she may be leaving
- 13:00Speaker 2: at some point. Who would mom Donnie put in his
- 13:03Speaker 2: police commissioner people on his short list, they're not that scary.
- 13:07Speaker 2: One is Suffolk County. I think he's a police chief there,
- 13:11Speaker 2: but he had been at the NYPD for years, not
- 13:14Speaker 2: a bad choice. And the other one who I think
- 13:16Speaker 2: is getting to the top of the list, he former
- 13:19Speaker 2: NYPD chief for years, very very qualified. He's been in
- 13:23Speaker 2: New Jersey the last few years, retired from the NYPD.
- 13:26Speaker 2: He's been in a New Jersey in some high positions.
- 13:29Speaker 2: But those two are not bad choices, So it's not
- 13:34Speaker 2: that scary if she leaves. So, Hey, we got a
- 13:36Speaker 2: lot to get to. We'll get to Ukraine and Moore
- 13:41Speaker 2: coming up. Hey, thanks to Barrett Media. You know you've
- 13:44Speaker 2: heard us talk about it, but Barrett Media is the
- 13:46Speaker 2: bible of the radio industry, the talk radio industry, the
- 13:50Speaker 2: music radio industry. It's like the official trade magazine of radio.
- 13:54Speaker 2: And they have a big summit every year. It will
- 13:57Speaker 2: be June thirtieth days. But they've just an announced I
- 14:04Speaker 2: will receive the gold Standard and Broadcasting Award. It's like
- 14:07Speaker 2: the Lifetime Achievement Award. You know what that means. You
- 14:09Speaker 2: get a Lifetime Achievement Award means you're getting old. A
- 14:12Speaker 2: lifetime Achievement award. That's a great honor, the gold standard
- 14:16Speaker 2: in broadcasting thanks to Barrett Media. You can read about
- 14:20Speaker 2: it if you go to Barrettmedia dot com. Barrettmedia dot com.
- 14:25Speaker 2: I think even actually, I think anybody can buy tickets.
- 14:27Speaker 2: It's open to the public, I think. But it's a
- 14:31Speaker 2: great conference. You go there and it's everybody in talk radio.
- 14:35Speaker 2: Every major talk host is there, all the top program directors.
- 14:41Speaker 2: But imagine this, and they do it every year, all
- 14:43Speaker 2: the top talk radio hosts in America in one room.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Do you know what it's like trying to get a
- 14:47Speaker 2: word in in that room with those people. It's great though. Hey,
- 14:51Speaker 2: we'll take some calls. Next eight hundred three two one
- 14:54Speaker 2: zero seven. Ten is the number eight hundred three two
- 14:58Speaker 2: one zero seven. If you're listening to Mark on the
- 15:02Speaker 2: iHeart Radio app, save time and tap the preset button.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Now. Now back to the Mark Simone Show on w
- 15:09Speaker 1: o R.
- 15:11Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to uh Chris
- 15:15Speaker 2: in Manhattan and Chris, what are you worried about this time?
- 15:18Speaker 7: Good morning more.
- 15:19Speaker 8: First of all, congratulations.
- 15:20Speaker 9: On the award you're going to get. I mean, I
- 15:24Speaker 9: think you're one of the most trust the reward the
- 15:26Speaker 9: casters on the rate. Like when you advertise something like
- 15:28Speaker 9: PC Richards or the water company, I believe they will
- 15:31Speaker 9: brouse them and you're you know, you're not spread out
- 15:33Speaker 9: all over the place.
- 15:34Speaker 8: But that's not what I wanted to say.
- 15:35Speaker 9: Congratuate.
- 15:36Speaker 8: Actually you you kind of came close to saying that
- 15:39Speaker 8: it doesn't matter what kind oflations are that going to make,
- 15:42Speaker 8: They're not going to stick to it and they're not.
- 15:44Speaker 8: We already know that we know that deal Trump's then
- 15:47Speaker 8: why are we still trying to get a deal with them?
- 15:50Speaker 8: I think we have to destroy so so it's going
- 15:52Speaker 8: to be meaning with the.
- 15:54Speaker 2: President will figure he'll figure it out. Mean, tell me right. Meantime,
- 15:58Speaker 2: we got rid of there, and you know, their air system,
- 16:01Speaker 2: their air defense, their missiles, most of them. They still
- 16:04Speaker 2: have some, but we've pretty much wiped out their military.
- 16:06Speaker 2: We've taken away a lot of that. We've taken away
- 16:09Speaker 2: so much of their revenue that just about broke. Don't
- 16:12Speaker 2: have the money to finance all that stuff anymore. But
- 16:14Speaker 2: the president, even if they break the deal, I'll just
- 16:18Speaker 2: go back in and wipe them out again. It's a
- 16:19Speaker 2: better relationship than just letting them fund October seventh, kind
- 16:23Speaker 2: of stuff. Let's go to Dave in Chicago. Dave, how
- 16:26Speaker 2: you doing.
- 16:28Speaker 4: Good morning, Mark.
- 16:29Speaker 2: I'm doing very well.
- 16:30Speaker 10: Thank you, Mark again, congratulations on fifty years of broadcast
- 16:34Speaker 10: excellence in New York.
- 16:36Speaker 2: Thanks.
- 16:36Speaker 10: I have a question about your interviews. You've conducted tens
- 16:40Speaker 10: of thousands of interviews. My two questions are, first of all,
- 16:45Speaker 10: have they been digitized to be preserved? And secondly, how
- 16:49Speaker 10: do you choose which ones to keep and which ones
- 16:52Speaker 10: get faded into history?
- 16:54Speaker 2: Very good questions, Dave. I'll answer them.
- 16:57Speaker 7: One.
- 16:58Speaker 2: Many have been digitized, but there are many years of
- 17:02Speaker 2: the nineties and a lot of them were I have
- 17:05Speaker 2: every show, there's thousands and thousands and thousands and digitizing
- 17:09Speaker 2: them and say, very slow process for a lazy guy
- 17:12Speaker 2: like me. Now, you could have somebody else do it,
- 17:14Speaker 2: but I got to do it because you got to
- 17:15Speaker 2: listen to it yourself. Some are outdated, some are which
- 17:19Speaker 2: ones you save well. Obviously, if it's the biggest names
- 17:22Speaker 2: in the world, of course you save it. But it's fascinating.
- 17:25Speaker 2: You're back to the nineties, even the eighties. Somebody who
- 17:28Speaker 2: is a super big headline, superstar name, exclusive interview. Now
- 17:33Speaker 2: you listen to it now and you realize nobody remembers
- 17:35Speaker 2: this guy. Nobody will know who it is anymore. So
- 17:39Speaker 2: there are some that get tossed out after a while.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Let's go to Mike in Florida. Mike, how you doing.
- 17:44Speaker 5: Good morning, Mark, that's Mike. All the best on a
- 17:48Speaker 5: well deserved honor NICs. You mentioned earlier about being hot
- 17:54Speaker 5: and humid up there, and if you don't like it,
- 17:56Speaker 5: now don't move to Florida. I can give you a
- 17:58Speaker 5: couple more reasons. Endless landscaping. They are constantly mowing grass,
- 18:04Speaker 5: blowing lee. It's endless, endless, never ends, and the fact
- 18:09Speaker 5: that whenever it rains, the lights flicker and go out.
- 18:12Speaker 5: Really the twenty first century, and yes, happened just the
- 18:15Speaker 5: other night. They flicker, they had they call them flickers.
- 18:19Speaker 5: It goes out for seconds, enough to whack out half
- 18:21Speaker 5: the stuff in your in the thing, and it comes
- 18:23Speaker 5: right back on. But then they go out for like
- 18:25Speaker 5: twenty minutes. Come on, go out for another twenty minutes.
- 18:28Speaker 5: It's a rainstorm. Yeah. Yeah, But you also the Manhattan
- 18:32Speaker 5: for fifty years, fifty years, I never had another I
- 18:34Speaker 5: never had a flicker or a flood or anything.
- 18:37Speaker 2: That's a good point. But you also have down there
- 18:40Speaker 2: all summer long, you have a vicious thunderstorm every afternoon, right.
- 18:44Speaker 5: Every afternoon, Every every afternoon when I go out the barbecue,
- 18:48Speaker 5: it's the same cloud over my left shoulder every single
- 18:50Speaker 5: afternoon at the same time. All right, well it's so,
- 18:53Speaker 5: but it's but then again once again, by the way,
- 18:57Speaker 5: they may do you think they'll he'll trumpell nominate at
- 19:00Speaker 5: least a panic that we place Jay Clayton.
- 19:03Speaker 2: Well that'd be that's a good idea, and thought of that. Yeah, well,
- 19:07Speaker 2: good idea. All right, Well we'll see, but thanks for calling. Yeah,
- 19:11Speaker 2: if you want to move to Florida, just remember the
- 19:13Speaker 2: way they go outside today, in the middle of this
- 19:15Speaker 2: weather today. That's what it's like in Florida. Six months
- 19:17Speaker 2: a year, and you get a vicious thunderstorm every afternoon,
- 19:21Speaker 2: just for a little while, but you got to go
- 19:22Speaker 2: in for a little while. Let's go to Glenn in
- 19:26Speaker 2: New Jersey. Glenn, how you doing?
- 19:29Speaker 4: Yes, Mark, I think Trump is brilliant. I mean absolutely brilliant.
- 19:34Speaker 4: The guy as an investor and so forth. And when
- 19:37Speaker 4: he says he loves inflation, I do too, because every
- 19:40Speaker 4: time that I buy something, it's worth more.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Well, he didn't. He didn't really say he loves it.
- 19:46Speaker 2: He didn't say he loves it. Yeah, he didn't say
- 19:48Speaker 2: he loves inflation. They're taking that little clip out of
- 19:51Speaker 2: the rest of the what he said. I love this
- 19:53Speaker 2: inflation because it's going to come crashing down as soon
- 19:57Speaker 2: as the Ran conflict is over. He said, this will
- 20:00Speaker 2: go down real figures. He said, I love this this
- 20:02Speaker 2: inflation right here because it'll drop so fast. Let's go
- 20:06Speaker 2: to Vincent and Brooklyn. Vincent, how are you doing one?
- 20:10Speaker 7: Jordan or Mark Boron Jordan O Marta me A p
- 20:13Speaker 7: Sentiti complimentding.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Oh my goud, you can't believe what he just said.
- 20:17Speaker 2: You can't talk like that on the radio.
- 20:19Speaker 7: I just congratulated you and I said good morning to you.
- 20:23Speaker 7: Congrats Mark on this award. Mark. Did you hear the
- 20:28Speaker 7: latest from mad Mattress based Bondami He's Liz Peak pointed
- 20:33Speaker 7: it south the other day. He's now claiming he didn't
- 20:37Speaker 7: know this woman who's running for representative esplanat Set, that
- 20:43Speaker 7: she made all this these anti American, anti Jewish statements.
- 20:48Speaker 7: This woman nuhed Dad, Alicia Avida Chevalier, who looks like
- 20:54Speaker 7: she has a head of bullo and she needs to
- 20:58Speaker 7: go see a good headdresser. Well she said, and the
- 21:01Speaker 7: Post published again all this stuff she said about the Jews,
- 21:06Speaker 7: about America, about Trump and all this disgusting stuff. And
- 21:10Speaker 7: he's claiming this is his roofs. She does this all
- 21:13Speaker 7: the time.
- 21:14Speaker 2: Well, she's terrible, nobody should vote for her. But it's
- 21:16Speaker 2: possible he didn't know because he's a lazy guy who
- 21:18Speaker 2: does no research.
- 21:20Speaker 7: Yeah but no, but like it. But he's still supporting her, Mark,
- 21:24Speaker 7: even though it came out that she said all this stuff,
- 21:27Speaker 7: He's still gonna support her.
- 21:28Speaker 2: That's Democrats. They love these Nazis. Look at that platiner
- 21:31Speaker 2: with the big Nazi tattoo. They love that stuff.
- 21:34Speaker 7: Oh, Marko, that's terrible.
- 21:36Speaker 2: But what are you gonna do? They love it. I
- 21:38Speaker 2: don't know why, but they've fallen in love with Nazis.
- 21:41Speaker 7: Mark, you know it's President Trump. You mean to say,
- 21:46Speaker 7: please ask him? Doesn't he have any dirt on this man,
- 21:50Speaker 7: mon Dami? Doesn't he have about dirt?
- 21:54Speaker 2: No? The good thing about Mondani, the guy's never had
- 21:56Speaker 2: a job, never done anything. He's never done a thing
- 21:58Speaker 2: in his life, and.
- 21:59Speaker 7: There's no dirt like when his family came here and
- 22:02Speaker 7: he applied from citizenship.
- 22:04Speaker 2: No, probably not, probably not. But they're terrible people. But Vincent,
- 22:08Speaker 2: thanks for calling.
- 22:09Speaker 1: Hey.
- 22:09Speaker 2: When we come back, Monica Crowley she's at the White House.
- 22:12Speaker 2: She's involved in running all this kind of stuff, all
- 22:15Speaker 2: the events, all the world leaders and all. So we'll
- 22:17Speaker 2: talk to Monica Crowley next on seven ten WR.
- 22:22Speaker 7: And Mark Simonia on wor Well.
- 22:26Speaker 2: The great Monica Crowley. You know, I knew her when
- 22:28Speaker 2: she was just Monica Crowley, best selling author, radio TV star.
- 22:32Speaker 2: Now she's the ambassador, she's the Chief of Protocol of
- 22:36Speaker 2: the United States of America and she's with us now.
- 22:40Speaker 2: Monica Crowley, how you.
- 22:41Speaker 1: Doing, hey, Mark, Always great to be with you.
- 22:45Speaker 2: Yeah, boy, are you ever coming back? We miss you.
- 22:50Speaker 7: Well.
- 22:51Speaker 1: I miss New York too, although I have to tell
- 22:53Speaker 1: you that I was at the next game on Monday night. Yeah,
- 22:56Speaker 1: and it was really I mean, it was an unfortunate outcome.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Although look at what they did on Wednesday night, so
- 23:02Speaker 1: it's absolutely incredible. But to be back in New York
- 23:05Speaker 1: City with the electricity around the Knicks unbelievable. I do
- 23:09Speaker 1: miss it.
- 23:09Speaker 2: Yeah, well, we miss you. Hey. What a weekend you
- 23:12Speaker 2: got coming up here at the White House. Tell how
- 23:15Speaker 2: many things are going on? You got the UFC fight
- 23:17Speaker 2: and tell us about the busy weekend there.
- 23:21Speaker 1: Yes. Well, for really the next six weeks, going through
- 23:25Speaker 1: mid July and actually well into August, the United States
- 23:30Speaker 1: of America, Mark is going to be the center of
- 23:32Speaker 1: the universe because we are heading into America's two hundred
- 23:36Speaker 1: and fiftieth birthday and we have tremendous celebrations that are
- 23:40Speaker 1: all teed up and ready to go. Everything is open
- 23:43Speaker 1: to the public, free of charge. I'm going to get
- 23:46Speaker 1: to July fourth here in a minute, but you mentioned
- 23:48Speaker 1: the UFC fight. Yes, that is happening on the White
- 23:51Speaker 1: House South Lawn on Sunday this weekend, June fourteenth. It
- 23:56Speaker 1: happens to be Flag Day for the United States. It
- 23:59Speaker 1: also happened to be President Trump's eightieth birthday, although I'm
- 24:04Speaker 1: sure he doesn't want to mention the number, but it
- 24:06Speaker 1: will be a birthday celebration for him. We've got Dana White,
- 24:09Speaker 1: We've got the UFC, and it's all in celebration of
- 24:12Speaker 1: America's big birthday.
- 24:14Speaker 2: Yeah, it'll be amazing. So two hundred and fiftieth birthday
- 24:18Speaker 2: of America, I'm trying to remember two hundred that's when
- 24:23Speaker 2: they did those bi centennial moments on TV. But there
- 24:26Speaker 2: was nothing like this. This is a much, much bigger celebration.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Well, fifty years ago was the bi centennial nineteen seventy six,
- 24:33Speaker 1: and the country was really a lit with patriotic fervor,
- 24:38Speaker 1: and everybody had the patriotic spirit. And I do remember
- 24:42Speaker 1: being a very very little girl mark down the Jersey
- 24:46Speaker 1: Shore with my mom, my dad, my sister. And while
- 24:49Speaker 1: I don't remember everything that happened in nineteen seventy six,
- 24:53Speaker 1: like what President Ford was doing and his speech to
- 24:56Speaker 1: the nation and all of that. I do remember being
- 24:59Speaker 1: down LBI having a sparkler in one hand and a
- 25:03Speaker 1: little American flag in the other. That kind of indelible
- 25:07Speaker 1: feeling of patriotism and love of country is what was
- 25:12Speaker 1: instilled in me that day, and I know for millions
- 25:15Speaker 1: of other Americans that is exactly the kind of patriotic
- 25:19Speaker 1: feeling that we are trying to recreate for America's two
- 25:22Speaker 1: hundred and fiftieth. So we've got a couple of really
- 25:25Speaker 1: big things planned, Mark. In addition to UFC happening this weekend,
- 25:30Speaker 1: starting on June twenty fifth, on the National Mall, we
- 25:33Speaker 1: are going to be launching the Great American State Fair.
- 25:37Speaker 1: All fifty states and six territories will be represented on
- 25:41Speaker 1: the National Mall with their own pavilions about what makes
- 25:45Speaker 1: each state great, including New York and New Jersey, so
- 25:49Speaker 1: many others, all kinds of blue ribbon competitions. We're going
- 25:54Speaker 1: to have for the very first time, a one hundred
- 25:57Speaker 1: and ten foot ferris wheel on the National Mall. Could
- 26:00Speaker 1: go all the way up, Mark and see the beauty,
- 26:03Speaker 1: the cleanliness, the safety of our nation's capital. Thanks to
- 26:07Speaker 1: President Trump, from the Ferris Wheel, all kinds of performances,
- 26:13Speaker 1: rodeo performances, three times a day. It is going to
- 26:17Speaker 1: be a world spare on the National Mall. It's going
- 26:20Speaker 1: to run for sixteen days through July tenth, So please
- 26:23Speaker 1: come down and see it.
- 26:24Speaker 2: Yeah, but you know, the Morning Joe CNN types, I'm
- 26:28Speaker 2: not gonna like this. They don't like celebrating rodeos. It's
- 26:32Speaker 2: too Middle America for them. You know, many of these
- 26:35Speaker 2: Beltway people, the elite Northeast, they've never seen any of
- 26:39Speaker 2: this state fair stuff. It's all foreign to them. So
- 26:42Speaker 2: it's good that they'll see it.
- 26:43Speaker 1: Well, if you're talking about like the Blue Coast people
- 26:47Speaker 1: who are are part of the problem, then no. But
- 26:50Speaker 1: what we're doing is a true celebration of all of America.
- 26:54Speaker 1: And just like in nineteen seventy six when we were
- 26:56Speaker 1: coming off of Vietnam and Watergate and the country had
- 26:59Speaker 1: d divisions, we have deep divisions now. But just as
- 27:04Speaker 1: fifty years ago, this celebration of America is going to
- 27:07Speaker 1: unite the American people around our shared values, our shared
- 27:12Speaker 1: sense of patriotism, and a renewed sense of civic pride.
- 27:16Speaker 1: And of course the ten Pole event mark is going
- 27:18Speaker 1: to be on July fourth. I want to mention two
- 27:20Speaker 1: quick things here. First of all, I know you're sitting
- 27:23Speaker 1: in New York City. New York is going to be
- 27:25Speaker 1: hosting an international naval review, including a massive parade of
- 27:32Speaker 1: gorgeous tall ships. We did this fifty years ago. We're
- 27:35Speaker 1: doing it again around the Statue of Liberty, New York
- 27:38Speaker 1: harb and then up the Hudson River with about thirty
- 27:42Speaker 1: five countries represented with gorgeous tall ships. That is starting
- 27:46Speaker 1: on July fourth at ten am. So please get out,
- 27:50Speaker 1: get to the river, get your place early, and really
- 27:53Speaker 1: watch this beautiful thing unfold. Such a gorgeous celebration. And
- 27:58Speaker 1: then later that night, of course, New York is going
- 28:00Speaker 1: to have its celebration, the big national celebration, the Salute
- 28:04Speaker 1: to America, is going to take place on the National Mall,
- 28:08Speaker 1: and it is going to feature headline performances, the story
- 28:12Speaker 1: of America, gorgeous graphics, and of course, because it's President
- 28:17Speaker 1: Trump who requested the biggest and greatest fireworks display in
- 28:22Speaker 1: the history of the country, we are going to set
- 28:25Speaker 1: off eight hundred and sixty thousand fireworks over the National Mall,
- 28:30Speaker 1: the biggest I think in the history of the world,
- 28:33Speaker 1: so to celebrate America. Yeah, so if you can come
- 28:36Speaker 1: out for New York celebration, come down to DC for
- 28:40Speaker 1: the big salute to America. It is going to be
- 28:42Speaker 1: the grandest celebration in the history of our country.
- 28:45Speaker 2: Wow. Now, of course, if you can't be there, it'll
- 28:48Speaker 2: be televised. Obviously we can be able to watch it.
- 28:50Speaker 1: And yes, of course we've got broadcast partners across the
- 28:54Speaker 1: country who are going to be picking this up. And
- 28:56Speaker 1: if you're listening to us from other parts of America
- 28:59Speaker 1: or around the world, we are having a truly global celebration,
- 29:04Speaker 1: including activations to celebrate America's two hundred and fiftieth around
- 29:09Speaker 1: the world, with all of our partners and allies around
- 29:12Speaker 1: the world lighting up their countries in red, white and
- 29:15Speaker 1: blue to help us celebrate. Every state in America also
- 29:19Speaker 1: has our own celebrations planned, and I'm sure most communities
- 29:23Speaker 1: around a country will have the same plans. I see
- 29:27Speaker 1: in certain communities in New Jersey they've already painted the
- 29:31Speaker 1: crosswalks red, white and blue. So we are all getting
- 29:35Speaker 1: into the spirit mark and I encourage everybody to get
- 29:38Speaker 1: involved in their communities or come out in New York City,
- 29:41Speaker 1: come out of Washington, d C. And really help us
- 29:44Speaker 1: celebrate the most exceptional country in the history of the world.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Wow. Sounds amazing now, Monica Crowley, she's the Chief of
- 29:51Speaker 2: Protocol the United States. Tough part of your job. I
- 29:54Speaker 2: see you do this all the time. When a world
- 29:55Speaker 2: leader comes to see the President, the first meeting is
- 29:57Speaker 2: with you. I see they come into the room with you.
- 30:00Speaker 2: So you talk to every world leader. When you're suddenly
- 30:02Speaker 2: alone with the president of Finland or someplace, what do
- 30:06Speaker 2: you talk to them about?
- 30:09Speaker 1: Well, it's you know, it's my job is based in diplomacy. Obviously,
- 30:14Speaker 1: I am an ambassador Senate confirmed, so I do have
- 30:18Speaker 1: the constitutional authority to speak on behalf of the President,
- 30:21Speaker 1: the Vice President, and the Secretary of State, and I
- 30:24Speaker 1: take that responsibility very seriously. So my job is to
- 30:29Speaker 1: not pass judgment on any of these leaders, whether it's
- 30:31Speaker 1: Si'san Ping of China, Vladimir Putin of Russia, the president
- 30:35Speaker 1: of Finland. As you mentioned, my job is to make
- 30:38Speaker 1: sure that my team and I and I've got an
- 30:41Speaker 1: extraordinary team. They're so committed and dedicated, they do a
- 30:45Speaker 1: tremendous job. What we do is create the most amenable
- 30:51Speaker 1: environment for the most effective and robust diplomacy to take place.
- 30:55Speaker 1: So we make sure that the president has what he
- 30:58Speaker 1: needs to do his job well, and we also make
- 31:01Speaker 1: sure that the world leader and his or her delegation
- 31:05Speaker 1: have what they need to do their job well. So
- 31:08Speaker 1: when I'm alone with these world leaders, Mark, I talk
- 31:10Speaker 1: to them about their trip. I make some nice small
- 31:14Speaker 1: talk if they want to talk little policy. That's also
- 31:18Speaker 1: my background, so I'm always happy to do that, but
- 31:21Speaker 1: always with an eye to I am representing the President
- 31:24Speaker 1: of the United States and the American people, and I
- 31:27Speaker 1: do it so proudly and with so much love for
- 31:29Speaker 1: my country.
- 31:30Speaker 2: Well, it's a fascinating job. I mean, what a great
- 31:35Speaker 2: job you've done with all of this. And we miss
- 31:38Speaker 2: you in New York. I wish you'd come back, but
- 31:40Speaker 2: we need you in Washington right now. It's great to
- 31:43Speaker 2: talk to you, and Monica Crowley will do it again soon.
- 31:45Speaker 2: Thanks for the update.
- 31:47Speaker 1: Always a pleasure of Mark.
- 31:48Speaker 2: Thank you all right, take care, Hey, noybody follow her
- 31:51Speaker 2: on Instagram and Twitter and all that great stuff up
- 31:55Speaker 2: there from Monica Crowley, and don't forget at noon Bluck
- 32:00Speaker 2: Sexton and Clay Travis will be here with an excellent show.
- 32:03Speaker 2: And then you got the most listened to radio show
- 32:06Speaker 2: in America at three o'clock, Sean Handed. He got Jesse
- 32:09Speaker 2: Kelly at six. And you know, Jimmy Faile is now
- 32:12Speaker 2: here every night nine to midnight. You should be listening.
- 32:14Speaker 2: It's a great show, very funny. Every night at nine
- 32:17Speaker 2: on seven to ten WR it's the Mark Simone Show
- 32:21Speaker 2: Live from the WR Life Back Studios. Well, hey, we've
- 32:29Speaker 2: been following the SpaceX ipo who was decided the price
- 32:33Speaker 2: will be one hundred and thirty five dollars, which is very,
- 32:36Speaker 2: very very high for an ipo. But we're waiting for
- 32:39Speaker 2: that first trade one hundred and thirty five dollars and
- 32:42Speaker 2: apparently they sold seventy five billion worth of the stock
- 32:46Speaker 2: before the market open. That's too institutions and professional buyers
- 32:50Speaker 2: who will get in on this early. And if that
- 32:53Speaker 2: is the fact, if that is the fact, that I
- 32:56Speaker 2: think makes Elon Musk the first trillionaire in the history
- 33:01Speaker 2: of the world. But we're waiting for the stock to
- 33:03Speaker 2: actually open for real trading with the public. It looks
- 33:06Speaker 2: like right now, it looks like when it opens for trading,
- 33:09Speaker 2: it'll be at about one hundred and sixty nine dollars
- 33:12Speaker 2: per share. One hundred and sixty nine dollars per share,
- 33:14Speaker 2: so the insiders get in at the IPO price. It's
- 33:17Speaker 2: all done before the market opens. Now, if you want
- 33:19Speaker 2: to buy it on the open market, which will happen today,
- 33:23Speaker 2: that price could just sort It could be all over
- 33:25Speaker 2: the place. But you don't have to jump in today.
- 33:29Speaker 2: You know, a stock like this, like Tesla, like other IPOs,
- 33:33Speaker 2: it's going to have a lot of ups and down.
- 33:35Speaker 2: So if you don't get in today, if you don't
- 33:36Speaker 2: like the price, it'll come down, it'll go up. There'll
- 33:38Speaker 2: be other opportunities to buy into it. Hey, that crazy
- 33:42Speaker 2: brad Lander, that left wing annoying like a young Chuck
- 33:48Speaker 2: Schumer Democrat. Remember he got himself arrested blocking the elevator
- 33:52Speaker 2: at a detention facility or was it an immigration courtroom?
- 33:58Speaker 2: Well he went to went to trial. Well we'll get
- 34:01Speaker 2: to that. We'll get to it after the news. We
- 34:02Speaker 2: don't have much time here, but after the news, we'll
- 34:04Speaker 2: get to that. Don't forget I'm here every day ten
- 34:07Speaker 2: to noon. If you can't listen ten to noon, if
- 34:10Speaker 2: you can't listen live, you get the podcast, then you
- 34:12Speaker 2: can hear the show anytime day or night. And also
- 34:15Speaker 2: remember if you're listening to the podcast, if you're a
- 34:17Speaker 2: podcast listener, there's an extra show every weekend, a bonus
- 34:22Speaker 2: show just for podcast listeners, and you can get it
- 34:25Speaker 2: wherever you get your podcast. So don't go away. You
- 34:27Speaker 2: got another hour to go back right after the news
- 34:29Speaker 2: Mark Simone here on seven to ten Woir
