- 0:00SPEAKER_00: You have to be authentic.
- 0:01SPEAKER_00: It has to be who you are, not just what you think social media wants you to be.
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: You need to show up.
- 0:09SPEAKER_00: You have to be authentic.
- 0:11SPEAKER_00: And that's where your self-confidence and your self-worth, because you're anchored in to who you really are, not what somebody else wants you to be.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: When you start living from a place of authenticity and creating a life by design, when you are speaking and you're able to articulate actually how you feel, what you're thinking from that space, you are healing and you're giving a healing to somebody else.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: You know, it's like, wow, I walked away and I said all those things and I thought, wow, that was really damn good.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: I really said all those nice things to that person.
- 0:43SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, and guess what?
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: When you were saying that stuff, you were having an epiphany for your own self.
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: Welcome to Reclaiming Consciousness.
- 0:53SPEAKER_01: My name is Elise Bassine, spiritual mentor, breathwork practitioner, and owner and CEO of Elise Breeds.
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: For many years, our consciousness has been hijacked by societal and cultural programming, religion, the media, and familial and ancestral trauma.
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: Right now, during this epic time in history, people are waking up, realizing who they really are, and reclaiming the pieces of their consciousness that they unknowingly gave away.
- 1:21SPEAKER_01: This podcast is an exploration of how so many spectacular humans are leading the way in exiting the matrix and reclaiming who they really are and what they're capable of.
- 1:32SPEAKER_01: In this show, you'll meet exceptional people who are paving the way in raising consciousness and creating a new way of living on this earth.
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: Get ready to go deep.
- 1:41SPEAKER_01: Now let's dive in.
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: Hi everyone, welcome back to the show.
- 1:49SPEAKER_01: First of all, happy Thanksgiving, because this episode is coming out right on Thanksgiving.
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: I have a very special episode for you guys today.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: Nancy Gentle Boudry is a really awesome woman that I met in a mastermind that I'm in, but she happens to be local here in Philadelphia.
- 2:07SPEAKER_01: And we actually got to meet in person and have a coffee, a long coffee.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: And I just find her so interesting because she started out as a coach before the coaching industry really existed and really built an organic business that evolved very organically.
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: And I think it's a really powerful story to hear because especially right now, when like people wanting to start businesses and be an entrepreneur and be a coach and all that stuff is like so prevalent.
- 2:41SPEAKER_01: And I think that there's this thing where they want to like evolve the process so quickly.
- 2:48SPEAKER_01: And, you know, I always talk about my own story of how, you know, if I didn't have over a decade of experience as a school counselor and then my experience in education and, you know, all my experience with breath work starting out at such a young age, I don't think that I would have the expertise and the knowledge and would have been able to develop my methodology in the way that I have.
- 3:12SPEAKER_01: So I just think that allowing yourself to go through the natural evolution and process of your own growth and your work is so important and to not push and rush things.
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: And I think that now the way that things are with having online businesses, people want things to happen overnight.
- 3:35SPEAKER_01: Or there's this like idea that, oh my gosh, you could be a millionaire in like a month or something.
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: And it's just very unrealistic.
- 3:44SPEAKER_01: And in order to create a sustainable business, you need to like take steps and build.
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: And Nancy's story is a really awesome representation of that because when she started out, it was kind of by accident.
- 4:00SPEAKER_01: It was before people really had online businesses, we'll say.
- 4:03SPEAKER_01: And now she's had to move online, and that's been one of her biggest challenges.
- 4:08SPEAKER_01: But you'll hear all about it and about her methodology that she developed over time.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: And I think you're gonna love this conversation and you're gonna love her.
- 4:17SPEAKER_01: And we'll link everything below for you to connect with her and follow her.
- 4:23SPEAKER_01: So just a couple announcements before we dive into the episode.
- 4:28SPEAKER_01: This week is Thanksgiving.
- 4:32SPEAKER_01: And I was thinking about, you know, I was talking to one of my clients and I was helping her navigate having some family in town, right?
- 4:42SPEAKER_01: And I was just kind of talking her through things that could potentially happen, you know, triggers and how to navigate them in the most efficient way.
- 4:52SPEAKER_01: And then I was just kind of thinking about how I really want to share a lot of this stuff with all of you because I don't know one person who does not have some kind of thought around the holidays of like, oh gosh, I'm gonna go hang out with my family and I hope they don't annoy me, or I hope I don't get triggered, or I don't want to go hang out with my family, you know?
- 5:19SPEAKER_01: And it's it's hard because I know that a lot of times you want to go see your family and you enjoy spending time with your family, but then ultimately someone will say something, or something will happen, and you'll be kicked right back to, you know, when you were a kid and you felt a certain way.
- 5:39SPEAKER_01: And before you know it, you're like in full on trigger mode.
- 5:43SPEAKER_01: And then, you know, you're driving home and you're angry and you're not sure how to navigate it.
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: So I am going to be sharing from now until the end of this year different tools and ideas and just um advice around how to navigate those things because it is very clear what's happening in those moments is just that the younger version of you who did not get what she needed, the younger version of you who is still waiting for her parents to give her what she needed or acknowledge her or value her, gets triggered in those moments when you perceive them not to be valuing you or acknowledging you or minimizing what it is that you do or any of those things.
- 6:33SPEAKER_01: It only gets triggered because that younger part of you that was wounded or had unmet needs has not been addressed.
- 6:41SPEAKER_01: So if you can learn how to address her in those moments or even afterwards, it will mitigate so much of the being uncomfortable or being triggered around family members.
- 6:54SPEAKER_01: And that goes for anything.
- 6:55SPEAKER_01: You know, I talk to a lot of people whose families are, you know, not on the same page as them, just with their worldview or their perspectives on things and how that is so challenging.
- 7:06SPEAKER_01: And all of it really relates back to childhood because when you get around your family, it's very easy to get thrown back into patterns that you had as a child and dynamics you had with them as a child.
- 7:21SPEAKER_01: So I'm gonna be sharing a lot of things that you can do to shift that.
- 7:25SPEAKER_01: The number one thing that I would recommend everybody doing, if you have not gotten it already, is to get the mini morphosis digital program.
- 7:35SPEAKER_01: It's only$55.
- 7:37SPEAKER_01: And in that, you will learn the inner child healing process that you can literally use while you are sitting at the dinner table with your family.
- 7:47SPEAKER_01: I'm not even kidding you.
- 7:49SPEAKER_01: And in there, you'll find my inner child healing flow chart where you literally can just plug in your information and it will show you step by step how to take yourself from being triggered to being back in your present and powerful self within minutes.
- 8:07SPEAKER_01: So this is something that I highly recommend everybody getting if you want to be able to navigate the holidays with your family with ease and have fun and enjoy them.
- 8:17SPEAKER_01: You know, I hear so many people say, like, I just want to enjoy my mom.
- 8:21SPEAKER_01: And I felt this way too.
- 8:23SPEAKER_01: Like my mom's 79 and my dad, and I just want to enjoy being around them.
- 8:27SPEAKER_01: I don't want to get annoyed.
- 8:29SPEAKER_01: I don't want to get frustrated.
- 8:30SPEAKER_01: I don't want to get triggered.
- 8:32SPEAKER_01: And I've used these tools myself.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: That's why I created them.
- 8:36SPEAKER_01: And I've gotten to the point with my parents that it's like min so minimal.
- 8:42SPEAKER_01: And I don't even really get triggered anymore.
- 8:44SPEAKER_01: The only thing I'll get is like annoyed sometimes because my mom is so frantic or neurotic, but I don't get like triggered on that deep level.
- 8:52SPEAKER_01: Like I'm literally just like, oh my God, mom, let me do it.
- 8:55SPEAKER_01: It's fine.
- 8:56SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 8:57SPEAKER_01: Like that kind of thing.
- 8:59SPEAKER_01: So to have this inner child healing flow chart, and next week you're gonna hear Lisa Miller's episode where she talks about how she's worked with it and the results that she's had.
- 9:11SPEAKER_01: But this is a game changer.
- 9:12SPEAKER_01: And everyone who uses it is like, Elise, this has changed everything.
- 9:16SPEAKER_01: It's literally like a lifeline when you are triggered and need a way out and need to understand what's happening.
- 9:24SPEAKER_01: All you have to do is look at it and it shows you exactly what's happening and exactly what to do to get out of it.
- 9:29SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna link that below so you can grab that.
- 9:33SPEAKER_01: But I'm telling you, this will be a savior for you over the holidays.
- 9:38SPEAKER_01: Also, just to know what's to come, for those of you who are interested in learning more about the metamorphosis method, breastwork and trauma certification that's starting in February.
- 9:50SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna be hosting a QA call in mid-December.
- 9:53SPEAKER_01: I'll be sending out the details as soon as I have them, but I just want to put it on your radar because it's a free QA where you can come on and ask me any questions about the certification.
- 10:06SPEAKER_01: I will explain everything you need to know about the certification.
- 10:10SPEAKER_01: But basically, it is for you to learn my methodology to quickly and simply clear familial and ancestral trauma in your clients to create permanent results through facilitation of breath work, energy work, and my trauma clearing tools and becoming trauma informed so that you are able to hold a very powerful and present clean and clear space for your clients, which is a skill that is needed in this world, especially in the online business, in the coaching industry, in the healing industry, therapy, whatever, to be able to hold a really clean and clear space for your clients is one of the biggest contributors to them getting permanent results.
- 10:55SPEAKER_01: So if you work with clients in any capacity and you feel like there is more that you can do, there's a deeper level that you can go to and you want to become known for the results that you get predictably and permanently, this is for you.
- 11:10SPEAKER_01: Stay tuned for that and reach out to me if you want to come to the QA and I will get you the information as soon as I have it.
- 11:16SPEAKER_01: Have an amazing holiday.
- 11:18SPEAKER_01: Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.
- 11:19SPEAKER_01: Don't forget to grab the mini morphosis, and I will talk to you soon.
- 11:23SPEAKER_01: Enjoy the episode.
- 11:27SPEAKER_01: Hi, everyone, welcome back to the show.
- 11:29SPEAKER_01: So I am super excited for you to meet today's guest, who I actually got to meet in person, which is wild these days.
- 11:39SPEAKER_01: She's local in this area, and we have just connected, and I think we're gonna have a great conversation.
- 11:46SPEAKER_01: And I'm excited for you guys to meet her.
- 11:48SPEAKER_01: So today we have Nancy Gentle Boudry on the show.
- 11:52SPEAKER_01: Welcome to the show, Nancy.
- 11:54SPEAKER_01: Thank you, Lise.
- 11:55SPEAKER_01: It's a pleasure to be here.
- 11:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm excited to dive into our conversation.
- 12:00SPEAKER_01: So can you just share just a little bit about you and the short to not so short version of your story?
- 12:08SPEAKER_00: Sure.
- 12:09SPEAKER_00: I uh fell into being a mindset coach for high performer folks and professionals by being one myself.
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: It basically what happened was I was running an insurance agency that had multiple locations here in the Philadelphia area, uh seven-figure, very successful independent insurance agency.
- 12:29SPEAKER_00: And I came into that from the insurance field of working for a company and then ended up being my own boss and buying an agency.
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: And what I discovered is I was the perpetual fixer.
- 12:43SPEAKER_00: I would put out all the fires, whether it was personal, professional, I was everything to everyone.
- 12:51SPEAKER_00: I could be everything to everyone and had the ability to adapt to whatever setting I was in.
- 12:56SPEAKER_00: But I had no compass or fuel gauge, if you will, that told me if I was running on empty.
- 13:03SPEAKER_00: I just plugged.
- 13:04SPEAKER_00: I just put my head down and plow through it, plug myself in next day, do it again, rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat.
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: And then what happened is I started having physicality issues.
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: Things just started showing up.
- 13:17SPEAKER_00: I was young and I had no energy.
- 13:20SPEAKER_00: I worked out, I taught aerobics for years, and then so I knew something was off and went through a gamut of tests, went through all that stuff.
- 13:29SPEAKER_00: They couldn't figure out what was wrong with me.
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: They wanted to put me on meds for anxiety.
- 13:35SPEAKER_00: And again, they were just shooting in the dark, and I'm not dogging any of that.
- 13:39SPEAKER_00: But I barely even took ibuprofen.
- 13:41SPEAKER_00: So it was like, this doesn't feel good.
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: And then one of the nurse practitioners said, You need to learn how to regulate your stress.
- 13:48SPEAKER_00: Why don't you go take a yoga class?
- 13:51SPEAKER_00: And I said, Okay, uh, maybe I don't know how to regulate.
- 13:55SPEAKER_00: Well, I mean, what the heck?
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: Don't we all have stress?
- 13:57SPEAKER_00: And nobody teaches us how to do any of that.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: Um, in fact, you're rewarded for giving your heart and soul to anything and everything.
- 14:05SPEAKER_00: So uh whether it's your children, whether it's your spouse, whether it's your business, whether it's your church, whether it's your parents, it's like we're in a society that just says you're the best person if you just give, give, give.
- 14:17SPEAKER_00: So I did.
- 14:18SPEAKER_00: I went and took a yoga class, and I did know I had adrenal fatigue, and uh the yoga instructor told me about breath work and how to harness the power of the breath, activate my vagus nerves, started educating myself on all that because of what she told me about my physicality.
- 14:37SPEAKER_00: And I thought you got all that from just attending a yoga class, and she knew more about me than the medical community did, in my opinion.
- 14:45SPEAKER_00: That really was like an eye-opener.
- 14:47SPEAKER_00: And then I just started exploring all types of Eastern modalities.
- 14:51SPEAKER_00: So became a Reiki master and teacher, and then I'd studied with Dr.
- 14:54SPEAKER_00: John Kabadzin for the mindful-based stress reduction.
- 14:57SPEAKER_00: And the list goes on.
- 14:58SPEAKER_00: Dr.
- 14:59SPEAKER_00: Joe Dispenza went and took some of his seminars and then uh read all the books by Dr.
- 15:04SPEAKER_00: David Hawkins.
- 15:05SPEAKER_00: So it just all set me on this journey to I've realized the power of the mind, the body, uh, your breath, how you have to heal your programming, your belief systems that have been anchored in from not just your childhood, but generationally, and depending on, you know, I embrace the fact that I could have come in with it from previous lifetimes.
- 15:27SPEAKER_00: So yeah, so that's it in a nutshell.
- 15:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:30SPEAKER_01: Well, that makes total sense.
- 15:32SPEAKER_01: And I'm guessing when you started down this path, it was a while ago too, right?
- 15:37SPEAKER_01: Like yoga was kind of less popular than it is now.
- 15:41SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 15:42SPEAKER_00: This would have been in the mid-90s.
- 15:44SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 15:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 15:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 15:45SPEAKER_00: There wasn't a lot of yoga studios.
- 15:47SPEAKER_00: In fact, I had to drive to I lived in Exton and I had to drive to Westchester to go to a yoga studio.
- 15:52SPEAKER_00: They had just opened up one near me, and and so I was so excited, you know, it was just like, but first, the first yoga class I ever took was in Westchester.
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: And then so it was crazy.
- 16:02SPEAKER_00: They were few and far between.
- 16:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah, because I remember when I when I first started working at the yoga studio that I did when I was 19, that was in 2001.
- 16:12SPEAKER_01: And it was just at that time becoming popular.
- 16:16SPEAKER_01: That was like the yoga boom, was I feel like in the early 2000s.
- 16:21SPEAKER_01: So you were kind of like right before that.
- 16:23SPEAKER_01: So it's actually amazing that the nurse practitioner suggested that to you because I feel like that is not something at that time they probably would have even suggested most of them.
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: No, exactly.
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: And I don't even think they had any wherewithal that to even, yeah.
- 16:39SPEAKER_00: So it was, I think she was exasperated because she could tell from me that I didn't feel like a pill was gonna satisfy what I was looking for.
- 16:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:48SPEAKER_01: So then after you started doing that, is that when you stopped working in the insurance industry, or how did you kind of like make that transition?
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: So it wasn't until 2000 that I sold my agency to Univest.
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: So it was neat.
- 17:05SPEAKER_00: I basically started practicing, you know, this whole way of being.
- 17:09SPEAKER_00: I tell all my clients, like my slogan of my business is create a life you design, not one of default.
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: So that's exactly what started happening was let me set boundaries that are appropriate for me.
- 17:21SPEAKER_00: And it sounds silly, but I think we even talked about, but this was pretty instrumental for me.
- 17:25SPEAKER_00: Um, I was trying to be the American dream, the storybook, leave it to beaver kind of uh picture of my family and my life, and things like Christmas cards.
- 17:43SPEAKER_00: Everybody and their brother would send a Christmas, and that was very stressful.
- 17:47SPEAKER_00: I had like, you know, it's all the people that you you know went to your wedding and all this.
- 17:51SPEAKER_00: It's just craziness.
- 17:52SPEAKER_00: Like you were just sending out the to why?
- 17:54SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 17:55SPEAKER_01: I think holiday cards are so stupid, man.
- 17:57SPEAKER_01: I just think they're like such a waste of time, and then you like get other people's with like the picture of their like family on it.
- 18:04SPEAKER_01: By the way, no offense to anyone.
- 18:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and then I'm just like, oh, I should be doing this.
- 18:12SPEAKER_01: Then I'm like, no, I don't want to do this.
- 18:15SPEAKER_01: Cards are not like important to me, and my mom would always be obsessed with sending thank you notes and like cards for every single thing.
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: She would like teach me that it was like offensive to not send a card.
- 18:28SPEAKER_01: And I'm just like, why am I feeling guilty about this?
- 18:32SPEAKER_01: It's the dumbest thing.
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: And that's why I use it as an example because it was like a guilt trip to stop doing the card.
- 18:40SPEAKER_00: But I was like, I want to enjoy the holiday.
- 18:43SPEAKER_00: I want to, I want to bake cookies, I want to do the things that are important to me, not this stupid card that isn't important to me.
- 18:50SPEAKER_00: And now that we have social media, that seems like even more of a waste.
- 18:54SPEAKER_00: But back then that was not what we have now.
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: You know, I started drawing those lines in the sand, if you will.
- 18:59SPEAKER_00: Oh gosh, we didn't get a Christmas.
- 19:01SPEAKER_00: How are the kids?
- 19:03SPEAKER_00: Uh-huh.
- 19:03SPEAKER_00: You know, and you're like, well, if we don't interact and you don't know how maybe that's more of a problem.
- 19:10SPEAKER_00: You could call me if you want to know how my kids are.
- 19:14SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 19:15SPEAKER_00: See, you know, you know, I started just making those choices that were more aligned with my values, not trying to be everything to everyone or how society thought this should be, right?
- 19:31SPEAKER_00: My American dream is maybe different than what somebody else's American dream is.
- 19:36SPEAKER_00: And I use that loosely, but whatever that is, right?
- 19:39SPEAKER_00: And just started creating a life I designed.
- 19:43SPEAKER_00: And as I did that and started peeling back the layers, there's a big healing process because the guilt that comes up, and then people don't like you're changing the role by which you show up, and now they're trying to keep you slotted in the role that they want because it's what they know, it's their comfort zone, all that.
- 20:01SPEAKER_00: But you have to have enough awareness of the dynamic.
- 20:06SPEAKER_00: It's not anybody's fault, you're just changing the way you show up.
- 20:10SPEAKER_00: So it was quite fascinating.
- 20:12SPEAKER_00: And I just, you know, went through that process, and the whole selling of the agency was just what I call a series of synchronistic events.
- 20:19SPEAKER_00: It was like I'm evolving.
- 20:21SPEAKER_00: People are asking me, wow, you look like a brand new person.
- 20:25SPEAKER_00: You actually look like you had a facelift.
- 20:27SPEAKER_00: I got told that.
- 20:27SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 20:28SPEAKER_00: It was what was happening was I wasn't carrying all that stress anymore.
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: And then that was the time of the evolution of computers, like, you know, I was going to have to invest a great deal of money into the agency and the three locations that we had and get everything automated.
- 20:43SPEAKER_00: And then Univost approached me.
- 20:45SPEAKER_00: So by having that awareness and not living to somebody else's agenda, I was able to evaluate the situation and go, maybe, even though I always thought I'd be here till and then like leave this agency for my kids, maybe this isn't how this is written.
- 21:02SPEAKER_00: Maybe I'm really supposed to do my passion and purpose, which is change lives and coach people.
- 21:08SPEAKER_00: And back then there weren't, there was no coach.
- 21:10SPEAKER_00: I mean, this was not a popular thing like it is now, but that gave me the opportunity to really self-explore and decide what kind of life do I want to live.
- 21:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 21:21SPEAKER_01: Did you take time before you figured out you wanted to coach people?
- 21:25SPEAKER_01: Or like how did that happen?
- 21:28SPEAKER_01: How did you know about coaching anyway, too?
- 21:30SPEAKER_01: Because like no one did it then.
- 21:32SPEAKER_00: Nobody did it.
- 21:33SPEAKER_00: I don't, I think I called it mentoring.
- 21:35SPEAKER_00: I didn't even call it coaching.
- 21:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 21:37SPEAKER_00: That makes sense.
- 21:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you know, it was my own personal journey.
- 21:40SPEAKER_00: And so then people just started approaching me and I had sold it to Univest, and I was I was in sort of uh a little hiatus.
- 21:49SPEAKER_00: So I sold it in 2000.
- 21:51SPEAKER_00: I gave birth, yeah, 2001, the transaction was complete.
- 21:54SPEAKER_00: I gave birth to my son, my my second and last child, that's my biological.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: Child in 2000.
- 22:02SPEAKER_00: And so took the time with him as an infant, but all the while still like keeping my hands and teaching others.
- 22:11SPEAKER_00: Didn't turn it into a business, an actual corporation until 2008, nine.
- 22:17SPEAKER_00: Um, got certified as a Reiki master in 2007.
- 22:21SPEAKER_00: So it just kind of went through this, but a lot of personal journey in there, um, really honing my craft, not even really at that juncture, just enjoying sharing and didn't turn it into a business till I just started saying, wow, you know, I've actually got something going on here that I think people could want.
- 22:41SPEAKER_00: And I started it out of the basement of my home and then quickly realized I didn't want the public running through my house because people go, I'm gonna send you my cousin, my this, my, you know, and it was like, okay, this has got to get out of my house.
- 22:55SPEAKER_00: And because again, we didn't have Zoom was not a thing.
- 23:00SPEAKER_00: And even back then, you the way to build your email list or build your clientele was to go and do wellness fairs or you know, Chester County Day or whatever it was, and you set up a little booth and you had to collect, you know, emails that way.
- 23:16SPEAKER_00: So it was an interesting, but it was all basically referral based at the very beginning.
- 23:21SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 23:22SPEAKER_01: That makes sense.
- 23:23SPEAKER_01: And then how did you just start to develop what you do now?
- 23:27SPEAKER_01: Was it like all the pieces of just everything, like the mindfulness and like Reiki and all of that?
- 23:33SPEAKER_01: Is I'm guessing all of that goes into your process.
- 23:37SPEAKER_01: Correct.
- 23:38SPEAKER_00: I used to have, I would call it like an a la carte, right?
- 23:41SPEAKER_00: I taught meditation classes, breath classes, and I did Reiki.
- 23:46SPEAKER_00: Gosh, I'm big into law of attraction, explaining like Abraham and Hicks, Esther Hicks teachings.
- 23:52SPEAKER_00: So I had all these like little classes and workshops.
- 23:56SPEAKER_00: And then I started inviting all types of different modalities in.
- 24:00SPEAKER_00: And so I ran a wellness center inviting people all over the world, nation and and world.
- 24:06SPEAKER_00: Like they'd be over here in the United States and then decide to come find out about me.
- 24:11SPEAKER_00: So I didn't put sides to the actual coaching program that I develop and teach now till probably about 2013.
- 24:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 24:23SPEAKER_01: I feel like what you're describing is important in the sense that it's a very natural progression.
- 24:29SPEAKER_01: I think that's important.
- 24:31SPEAKER_01: And I always say this to people because I think sometimes people want to like they kind of see that vision of like what they could create, but don't want to like go through all the steps, right?
- 24:43SPEAKER_01: Of letting it evolve.
- 24:45SPEAKER_01: And then they get confused because they're like, well, I don't know what I'm gonna do with people or whatever.
- 24:51SPEAKER_01: And they want to like hurry up and quit their job.
- 24:53SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, that's not the way to do it.
- 24:56SPEAKER_01: Like, I always say for me, like, if I didn't have 10 years as a school counselor, I would not be who I am today.
- 25:04SPEAKER_01: My work would not be what it is today.
- 25:06SPEAKER_01: So I do think there's a really important evolution that has to happen to get people to a certain point of being able to really powerfully work with people.
- 25:18SPEAKER_01: Cause now I feel like with the coaching industry, boom, it's like, you know, everyone is like, oh, well, I want to be a coach.
- 25:24SPEAKER_01: You kind of have to let your own process evolve, like you're describing.
- 25:27SPEAKER_01: Like you did all of these things and it just naturally evolved to where it is now.
- 25:32SPEAKER_01: So I think that that's really important.
- 25:34SPEAKER_01: Then also I'd love to know too, when it came to doing this and doing your own thing, like what were some of the challenges for you?
- 25:43SPEAKER_01: Like, was there ever a point where you were like, I don't know if I can do this?
- 25:47SPEAKER_01: Or like, what were the things that really got in your way?
- 25:50SPEAKER_00: Hmm, that's a good question.
- 25:52SPEAKER_00: I would say that natural progression, you're fueled by the passion.
- 25:57SPEAKER_00: And it's like you're a child learning, you know, how that childlike amazement and wonder.
- 26:04SPEAKER_00: And I rode that for a long time.
- 26:07SPEAKER_00: So even like somebody said, Well, in order to scale your business, you can only do so many Reiki sessions, you can only run so many meditation classes.
- 26:16SPEAKER_00: Like, how are you gonna scale your business?
- 26:17SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, Scale, oh yeah, I kind of want to do that, right?
- 26:21SPEAKER_00: You know, it's like, and then it was like, Well, what are the pieces?
- 26:26SPEAKER_00: And I realized, like, for instance, the Reiki, I could be doing Reiki sessions all day long, but unless they change their mindset, they can't adhere what we're placing in the energy field, you know, the mental and emotional trauma on a cellular level.
- 26:39SPEAKER_00: It's just gonna go back to their behavior, their mindset.
- 26:43SPEAKER_00: So I started putting all these sides to it and developing, and the, and you know, that's where my trademarked methodology, pathway of inner peace, became.
- 26:53SPEAKER_00: So you're still in this like wonderment stage of like, oh my God, oh my god.
- 26:57SPEAKER_00: I didn't really reach, I'm gonna call it the challenge until we introduce so much social media, so much digital marketing.
- 27:09SPEAKER_00: You either have a knack for that or you don't.
- 27:12SPEAKER_00: You can learn it, but when I'm talking about this childlike wonder and just this writing, this purpose, that's not part of it for me.
- 27:23SPEAKER_01: I feel like there are some people that just naturally are really good at social media.
- 27:28SPEAKER_01: I have had those clients, but I would say for the majority, it's not.
- 27:36SPEAKER_01: And it's not even necessarily even about like the mechanics of it.
- 27:40SPEAKER_01: I think it's just more about the being seen piece of it.
- 27:44SPEAKER_01: Cause I think what you're describing and just kind of like this natural progression and working with people in person, it's very different than just like putting yourself out there on social media.
- 27:54SPEAKER_01: That's a whole different thing.
- 27:55SPEAKER_01: It's it brings up a whole different set of problems.
- 27:58SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, for people.
- 28:01SPEAKER_00: It's like, you know, when marketing people are telling you, well, give them what they want, not what they need.
- 28:07SPEAKER_00: Well, when we just talked about like it was hard for me to speak very superficially.
- 28:14SPEAKER_00: Like, for instance, joy.
- 28:15SPEAKER_00: Let's talk about, you know, there's a ton of people are pushing, oh, be joyful, talk about uh positive toxicity, right?
- 28:21SPEAKER_00: I mean, let's get real here, man.
- 28:24SPEAKER_00: You know, even on I have days that I'm not joy-filled.
- 28:27SPEAKER_01: I don't think anyone could be joyful every single day.
- 28:30SPEAKER_01: Like that would mean you're on like some kind of drug.
- 28:37SPEAKER_00: You're trying to figure out how to navigate.
- 28:38SPEAKER_00: Now, I'm definitely a private person.
- 28:41SPEAKER_00: I, you know, now some people are very comfortable speaking everything on social media, you know, and I've gone through some pretty challenging personal things in my life.
- 28:50SPEAKER_00: I've gone through a divorce, I've gone through, I'm not quick to share all that.
- 28:55SPEAKER_00: But when I coach one-on-one and I'm mentoring, I use myself always as an example.
- 29:00SPEAKER_00: Um and I'm very vulnerable and transparent because that's how people learn.
- 29:05SPEAKER_00: It's like you have, you know, and then they realize, oh wow, you know, you have problems just like I have problems.
- 29:11SPEAKER_00: Well, yes.
- 29:12SPEAKER_00: And, you know, navigating out now.
- 29:14SPEAKER_00: I'm a blended family.
- 29:15SPEAKER_00: I talk about that all the time.
- 29:16SPEAKER_00: You have to navigate that with grace and ease.
- 29:19SPEAKER_00: And there's a lot of people with blended family, you know.
- 29:22SPEAKER_00: So these are all the challenges.
- 29:24SPEAKER_00: So the challenges I think present them, you know, that's a piece of cake.
- 29:29SPEAKER_00: It's the ins and outs of the evolution of what coaching has become.
- 29:34SPEAKER_00: And like you said, a million coaches on every corner.
- 29:38SPEAKER_00: Everybody is a life coach, everybody's a Reiki, I mean, Reiki practitioners are out the yin yang.
- 29:43SPEAKER_00: It's just crazy.
- 29:44SPEAKER_00: And so you have to differentiate yourself, and you have to have cultivated your own inner self-confidence, your own inner worth, because this will all be challenged when you um have to differentiate yourself, put yourself out there.
- 30:03SPEAKER_00: I have been blogging since 2008 or nine.
- 30:07SPEAKER_00: Well, there's times I would be lying to you.
- 30:10SPEAKER_00: Who the hell cares?
- 30:11SPEAKER_00: Like, do I really, you know, like, do I really need to do this gentle, mindful moment?
- 30:16SPEAKER_00: Does anybody really read these things?
- 30:18SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 30:19SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 30:20SPEAKER_00: Then all of a sudden you get that synchronistic moment.
- 30:24SPEAKER_00: Somebody sends you or you know, says, sends me a message by email, or the other day I was just something, well, I see you all the time.
- 30:31SPEAKER_00: And so that's your purpose, right?
- 30:33SPEAKER_00: You got to be top of mind.
- 30:36SPEAKER_00: If you want, if you're in business, you've got to be top of mind.
- 30:39SPEAKER_00: That's what fuels you to keep going.
- 30:42SPEAKER_00: But your foundation has to be a life you're creating that you design, not what social media wants you to be, joy-filled, whatever.
- 30:51SPEAKER_00: You know, I might talk deep, or somebody says, Well, gosh, I don't know if they really got that.
- 30:56SPEAKER_00: Well, I don't care.
- 30:58SPEAKER_00: Whoever got it got it, and they're aligned with me.
- 31:01SPEAKER_00: And maybe I am too deep, and maybe, you know, but there's enough people in this world.
- 31:06SPEAKER_00: You have to be authentic.
- 31:07SPEAKER_00: It has to be who you are, not just what you think social media wants you to be.
- 31:13SPEAKER_00: You need to show up.
- 31:15SPEAKER_00: You have to be authentic, and that's where your self-confidence and your self-worth, because you're anchored in to who you really are, not what somebody else wants you to be.
- 31:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 31:26SPEAKER_01: I and I think that that's something that has been a way that I think a lot of people have kind of wanted to, you know, just take this carrot and like run with it in the sense where it's like, oh, well, I'll just do what this person did because they became successful from doing this.
- 31:43SPEAKER_01: And it's like, that doesn't work at all.
- 31:46SPEAKER_01: And I think that a lot of people had to learn that the hard way.
- 31:51SPEAKER_01: And it is when you're first starting out, it is tempting to just want to like have like a framework or like a roadmap, you know, and it is helpful to learn from other people, you know, definitely a hundred percent.
- 32:05SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 32:06SPEAKER_01: But ultimately, I think you have to be able to take the things that you learn from other people and integrate it and make it your own and then make your own decisions as far as like what really is authentic to you, like you're saying, and what isn't.
- 32:20SPEAKER_01: And that also takes, like to your point, it takes a large amount of confidence and worthiness to be able to do that to say, like, okay, I'm gonna value myself enough that I'm gonna make a decision about what feels right to me versus just doing what someone else says is gonna work or what they did, because ultimately people are hiring you because you're you.
- 32:46SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 32:47SPEAKER_01: You stand out to them and they resonate with you for whatever reason, not because you're the same as somebody else.
- 32:54SPEAKER_01: So I think that that is a especially with social media, and and I'm interested to know too.
- 32:59SPEAKER_01: Obviously, we're kind of already talking about this, but as somebody who's kind of been around as a coach before things came online, like what was it like for you to watch that?
- 33:10SPEAKER_01: And did you have any resistance to kind of like transitioning online?
- 33:15SPEAKER_00: Oh, absolutely, 100%.
- 33:17SPEAKER_00: That's what I would say the biggest challenge I've ever faced.
- 33:20SPEAKER_00: And I'm gonna call it digital marketing.
- 33:22SPEAKER_00: I don't know what else to call because again, you're talking an old dog, new tricks, right?
- 33:27SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 33:28SPEAKER_00: I'm okay.
- 33:29SPEAKER_00: I I am aging with grace and I'm embracing who I am.
- 33:32SPEAKER_00: It I just celebrated my 60th birthday.
- 33:35SPEAKER_00: I'm looking forward to Wow.
- 33:37SPEAKER_01: Wait, when's your birthday?
- 33:39SPEAKER_01: April.
- 33:39SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
- 33:40SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 33:40SPEAKER_00: I thought you meant like just this year, like 2024.
- 33:45SPEAKER_00: That was when I look in the mirror, I don't see a 60-year-old.
- 33:49SPEAKER_00: I don't it I don't feel 60, and I feel and that's all good.
- 33:53SPEAKER_00: Like uh, so I'm very comfortable with showing up in my authenticity of that.
- 33:59SPEAKER_00: And like when I shoot from the woods and stuff and I'm doing video or whatever, I don't put on makeup.
- 34:03SPEAKER_00: And yes, I've got wrinkles on my face.
- 34:05SPEAKER_00: Well, you know, there's a song, I think there's some sugar.
- 34:08SPEAKER_00: Um, I'm trying to think if she's a country singer, but ever I've earned every one of these lines on my face, and they got story, you know.
- 34:15SPEAKER_00: And it's like gray hair on this head, you know, it's like I thank gosh for color.
- 34:20SPEAKER_00: But that's the hard piece is the resistance.
- 34:23SPEAKER_00: And I would definitely say, you would just have to be compassionate with yourself.
- 34:28SPEAKER_00: I still have resistance.
- 34:30SPEAKER_00: Like I look at you and I am inspired by all your course creations.
- 34:34SPEAKER_00: I know I have the information to do entire courses, but I'm scared to death, right?
- 34:41SPEAKER_00: Or I don't know what it is.
- 34:42SPEAKER_00: It's just, you know, making it happen.
- 34:44SPEAKER_00: And I love, I mean, God, you have your husband that supports you in your business.
- 34:48SPEAKER_00: And I just go, wow, what would that be like?
- 34:50SPEAKER_00: You know, I would have to go outside of me and find that person, you know, to and I've talked to a few people, but um, everything comes with a price, like a big price tag, you know.
- 35:02SPEAKER_00: But this year I've told myself, just start making tracks, like be very gentle on yourself.
- 35:08SPEAKER_00: But I know I want to do some courses.
- 35:10SPEAKER_00: So, all this, if you're resistant, just promise yourself you're gonna make one step because the whole thing is if you say, I'm gonna do that, like even writing a book or something, and you wait five years before, you know, the only person that's holding you up is you.
- 35:29SPEAKER_01: For sure.
- 35:30SPEAKER_01: I always say to people, and I'm working right now with in my uh membership, I'm doing this like mini mastermind with them where I had them pick one thing, and they have to create this one thing in four weeks, right?
- 35:43SPEAKER_01: Awesome.
- 35:43SPEAKER_01: So one of them is I'm getting her to the point where she is gonna like finally make some moves in her business.
- 35:50SPEAKER_01: She's had this like stagnancy kind of business for like 10 plus years or something.
- 35:55SPEAKER_01: And the thing that I'm doing for her, and I think this is so helpful for so many people, and I love to break this down and do this for people, just because with my education background, like I'm like, I understand how to get people to a goal, right?
- 36:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 36:08SPEAKER_01: So I'm doing these like really small baby steps for her, and I feel like that's what so many people need.
- 36:16SPEAKER_01: Cause it's like anytime you do something new that feels foreign for you, it feels so overwhelming.
- 36:22SPEAKER_01: And there's always a part of you, just simply because you've never done it, that doubts if you can do it, just simply because you don't have that evidence that you can do it.
- 36:32SPEAKER_01: So, like breaking things down into these little baby steps of like, okay, I'm just gonna do this little thing and then this little thing.
- 36:39SPEAKER_01: And eventually it gets you to doing it.
- 36:42SPEAKER_01: I think that is like the best way to go because it gives your brain something that it can conceptually say, I know I can do that, and it's also like putting you towards doing it, you know.
- 36:54SPEAKER_01: So I think that's so important.
- 36:56SPEAKER_00: I agree.
- 36:57SPEAKER_00: And you don't have to look at the end result, it's just just look at the first step.
- 37:03SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 37:04SPEAKER_00: Like that's exactly it.
- 37:05SPEAKER_00: It's like um if you just look at that one step and then the next step, and then the next thing you know, you've completed.
- 37:12SPEAKER_00: And yeah, but it's just it is, it's so important.
- 37:15SPEAKER_00: Now the resistance piece, and just the one thing I would say is just be compassionate with yourself, be gentle, because when you're a taskmaster or you're berating or whatever, that's not going to get you to the finish line.
- 37:30SPEAKER_00: That's not even gonna get you to lift the pen to start writing or doing the course correction.
- 37:35SPEAKER_00: You know, so this is old pro paradigm.
- 37:38SPEAKER_00: This is old stuff, and if it comes up and you find yourself doing that to yourself, you need to really take a step back, take a breath, pause and say, how's that working?
- 37:48SPEAKER_00: For me, because it's not, it's not getting my end result.
- 37:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, and just to kind of build on that, I'd love to go deeper into like your process that you use when you coach clients, like what is your thing?
- 38:02SPEAKER_00: So the pathway to inner peace is based on four pillars, and the four pillars are recognize, release, rewire to radiate your best self.
- 38:14SPEAKER_00: So, what I literally do is I I use the four major doctors that were influential in my training, which is Dr.
- 38:20SPEAKER_00: John Cabot Zen, the founding father of MBSR, Mindful Base Stress Reduction, Dr.
- 38:26SPEAKER_00: David Hawkins, Power versus Force is the biggest book that he everybody is familiar with.
- 38:31SPEAKER_00: Dr.
- 38:31SPEAKER_00: Joe Dispenza, How to Break Your The How Bat of Being.
- 38:34SPEAKER_00: And I took a whole course like on that, and that was amazing.
- 38:38SPEAKER_00: And then Dr.
- 38:39SPEAKER_00: Wayne Dyer, who was all my very spiritual guru and manifestor, right?
- 38:43SPEAKER_00: He called the power of attraction, you know, law of attractions and stuff.
- 38:47SPEAKER_00: So I take those doctors and I blended, and in those four pillars, I'm teaching people how to recognize, be aware.
- 38:56SPEAKER_00: That's the first thing they need to do.
- 38:58SPEAKER_00: Awareness is power.
- 38:59SPEAKER_00: You're not looking to change it right at the beginning.
- 39:02SPEAKER_00: You just got to be aware of it.
- 39:03SPEAKER_00: Then you start over time, and I train you, and all my coaching, I give personalized recordings that help them rewire their brain.
- 39:11SPEAKER_00: So they're gonna listen to me for like five to eight minutes.
- 39:14SPEAKER_00: There's energy being channeled in there.
- 39:16SPEAKER_00: They're getting way more than just some random thing on Insight Timer.
- 39:20SPEAKER_00: It's made for them.
- 39:21SPEAKER_00: And then they begin to release what no longer serves.
- 39:24SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh, I have this perfectionism.
- 39:27SPEAKER_00: My mother wanted to be the storybook purse, you know, everything you did by the book.
- 39:32SPEAKER_00: Oh, you gotta send the thank you cards, you gotta send the Christmas cards, you gotta do this.
- 39:36SPEAKER_00: So you start to recognize I want to keep parts of that, but I don't want to let go of this.
- 39:41SPEAKER_00: I like this, but I don't like this.
- 39:43SPEAKER_00: You start releasing which doesn't serve.
- 39:46SPEAKER_00: And as that happens, you're going back and forth between recognizing, releasing, recognizing, releasing, processing the emotions come about, the guilt, the shame, oh, whatever it is, you know.
- 39:58SPEAKER_00: And as you're doing that and you're anchoring in, you're rewiring the brain with these tactics that I purposely give you, and you're building up habits.
- 40:08SPEAKER_00: So now it's not unconscious, it's conscious.
- 40:11SPEAKER_00: I'm aware of what I'm doing.
- 40:13SPEAKER_00: I know what's habitual, unconscious behavior, and I know what I'm intentionally doing.
- 40:18SPEAKER_00: And I tell people all the time, you're you're wiring your brain all the time.
- 40:22SPEAKER_00: You're making habits all the time.
- 40:24SPEAKER_00: Why not be conscious about the habits you're making and choose them?
- 40:29SPEAKER_00: You are not a victim.
- 40:30SPEAKER_00: If you turn around and find yourself saying anything like, you shouldn't have said that to me, you need to seriously stop and listen because you can't control another human being.
- 40:40SPEAKER_00: That person could it could stay on their head and hop three times, and it still wouldn't give you the result that you wanted.
- 40:46SPEAKER_00: Only you can.
- 40:48SPEAKER_00: So it's like teaching people how to rewire their thought process so they can radiate their best self.
- 40:54SPEAKER_00: And it's just it's so transformative, it's not complicated, it sounds a little overwhelming and complicated.
- 41:00SPEAKER_00: That's why I tell people just let's stay in the lane.
- 41:03SPEAKER_00: I got your hand, I'm guiding you through the process, but it's not complicated, it can be as natural as breath.
- 41:12SPEAKER_00: You just have to train yourself to be this way.
- 41:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, I totally get it.
- 41:17SPEAKER_01: And that's what I always tell people that I work with too.
- 41:20SPEAKER_01: It's like, it's not easy, but it's simple.
- 41:24SPEAKER_00: That's exactly it.
- 41:25SPEAKER_00: You know, and breath work is so powerful, it's got such healing uh powers.
- 41:31SPEAKER_00: Gosh, it's amazing, but you don't think.
- 41:34SPEAKER_00: Like I used to say to people, it's amazing.
- 41:36SPEAKER_00: I lived on the second floor above a cool little store, and I would go to take my groceries up the step, and I literally would go like this.
- 41:45SPEAKER_00: Like, what the heck?
- 41:46SPEAKER_00: That's like counterintuitive.
- 41:49SPEAKER_00: Like, use your breath to get up the steps with the groceries.
- 41:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 41:53SPEAKER_00: You know, so it is amazing how we've just got little habits that we don't because we're not dialed in, we're not aware.
- 42:00SPEAKER_00: But as soon as you get aware, and I noticed I was holding my breath, taking my groceries up the steps, use the power of your breath.
- 42:07SPEAKER_00: Use the breath to go from the diaphragm, do all the stuff.
- 42:10SPEAKER_00: So, and I was a singer for years.
- 42:12SPEAKER_00: It's like learn to use that, yeah, right.
- 42:15SPEAKER_00: So it's choice, it's just getting people out of victimhood, get them out of their trauma.
- 42:22SPEAKER_00: They play things over and over again.
- 42:24SPEAKER_00: They don't mean to, but it anchors in.
- 42:26SPEAKER_00: Why do they do it?
- 42:28SPEAKER_00: Because it's comforting, it's what they know.
- 42:31SPEAKER_00: It might be totally toxic, but it's what they know.
- 42:34SPEAKER_00: And being able to do that with compassion and kindness towards yourself is the biggest thing.
- 42:39SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh, for sure.
- 42:41SPEAKER_01: Because I always tell people like, you can't make yourself wrong for making yourself wrong.
- 42:47SPEAKER_01: Like, it's like it's it's not, there's no point.
- 42:51SPEAKER_01: And that having compassion for yourself is so important.
- 42:54SPEAKER_01: And obviously, for my work too, we're looking at everything through the lens of the inner child, and that can be very abstract for people.
- 43:01SPEAKER_01: So I always say, like, think of your own kid.
- 43:04SPEAKER_01: Think of your kid, you know, your like seven-year-old came up to you and said, I feel completely abandoned and rejected.
- 43:11SPEAKER_01: Like, what would you say to them?
- 43:13SPEAKER_01: What would you do?
- 43:14SPEAKER_01: You know, and that's a really great way in, I think, for a lot of people to develop that compassion for themselves because that's one of the hardest things.
- 43:22SPEAKER_01: And I know for me, it took me a very long time to get to the place where I was able to actually feel compassion for myself.
- 43:30SPEAKER_01: I think I like intellectually thought about it, but I wasn't able to feel it for a very long time.
- 43:36SPEAKER_01: And I think that like people are so used to just looking for what's wrong with them so that they can fix it.
- 43:42SPEAKER_01: So they kind of have that mind of like criticizing themselves.
- 43:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 43:47SPEAKER_01: So they can fix something, but that doesn't work.
- 43:51SPEAKER_00: No.
- 43:52SPEAKER_00: And that's why I use um so very much early on in the process, I use a technique where I'm really teaching.
- 44:00SPEAKER_00: them to identify their emotions.
- 44:02SPEAKER_00: So Dr.
- 44:02SPEAKER_00: David Hawkins talks about emotions carry a vibration.
- 44:06SPEAKER_00: They're contracted or they're expansive.
- 44:08SPEAKER_00: And most people at the beginning they're like, I don't know what I feel.
- 44:12SPEAKER_00: And that's very common because we don't like uncomfortable.
- 44:16SPEAKER_00: We don't like emotions, you know, I don't know if I really like them.
- 44:21SPEAKER_00: So maybe I'll just avoid them.
- 44:23SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 44:24SPEAKER_00: And so it's teaching people, you know, your emotions and they create thoughts and then they create perceptions.
- 44:30SPEAKER_00: And by the way, those perceptions aren't facts.
- 44:32SPEAKER_00: They're how you're seeing the world.
- 44:34SPEAKER_00: So like in your, I'm sure in your world of trauma, it's like if I meet a woman, you know, it can be a man too, but I definitely see it in the women.
- 44:43SPEAKER_00: They've been hurt, um team, betrayed, whatever.
- 44:46SPEAKER_00: And they are on an island.
- 44:49SPEAKER_00: They've got the drawbridge up there's a moat around them.
- 44:52SPEAKER_00: And what do you mean I all I want is attract a man a man?
- 44:56SPEAKER_00: Well it's a little hard to do that when you're like you know and you're just trying but but the poor thing you get why she's all withdrawn right so it's like that emotion is so vitally important to really understand and be compassionate.
- 45:12SPEAKER_00: See that that inner child see that hurt that betrayal and the thoughts that it's created and the perceptions now that you have of the male race or the female race or whoever whatever.
- 45:28SPEAKER_00: It doesn't matter.
- 45:29SPEAKER_00: It's like you're seeing how you perceive the world around you.
- 45:33SPEAKER_00: Are they after me?
- 45:34SPEAKER_00: Are they you know they're gonna screw me they're gonna you know like all this but it's fascinating and I've had people say well it's so much easier just to be a moat I mean you know well yeah and I always make the joke too that it's so much easier just to blame my husband for things.
- 45:50SPEAKER_01: He's a such a great person to blame yes but that's not getting me anywhere.
- 45:57SPEAKER_01: Like that's not contributing to my growth that's not contributing to our relationship that's not contributing to anything.
- 46:04SPEAKER_01: So it's like well yeah it's easier but it's also not getting me to where I want to go you know and I think that like that's the thing that it's like people have to want something different enough to make themselves uncomfortable to feel the feelings because I do think a lot of people will don't realize that they're seeing everything through this lens.
- 46:28SPEAKER_01: Like like you mentioned the example of thinking that people are out to get you you know and I've seen that with a lot of people where they automatically assume that so much that they end up creating situations with people that you know make that reality.
- 46:45SPEAKER_01: Where it's like and I'll be sitting there thinking like I don't know if that's actually what happened like based on your you know what I mean like but it's like they will just create that.
- 46:57SPEAKER_00: I always say to people it's like it's no different than the the mask thing on the airplane you have to give yourself the oxygen first.
- 47:05SPEAKER_00: So we we immediately want to go out and you can't it begins within and you have to really work on within before you go out.
- 47:17SPEAKER_00: You know it's easier to to go out and try to start you know like you said I want to skip these steps I just want this job sucks.
- 47:24SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna move on to something else hello you're probably gonna attract the same kind of job it's just gonna come packaged differently it's like I keep trying to tell people work on yourself work on how you and then let's it's what you emanate it's how what you know life responds to you life is happening to you it's responding and that's hard that's a hard concept and people will present some really dramatic situations and you've just got to go okay I'm not saying you attracted the rape I'm not saying that so you have to come at it very gingerly and everything.
- 47:59SPEAKER_00: But if you really understand what we're talking about you start to you understand the type of person that it brings situations to themselves right for sure.
- 48:12SPEAKER_01: And people don't realize they're like why do I always like get into these situations like I always have this joke with my husband because we joke that he's Larry David because he always finds himself in these like Larry David situations like in our neighborhood whatever but it's like he and and it's fine it's not a bad thing.
- 48:30SPEAKER_01: It's his shtick I mean sometimes it's annoying but but it's like he creates that right because he gets like you know hyper focused on like people parking in the crosswalk or whatever it is.
- 48:43SPEAKER_01: But it's like you create that and I think that like the cool thing is that once you realize that that is fully your responsibility then you actually can change it but it is hard for people.
- 48:55SPEAKER_00: So like what are the biggest like challenges that people tend to come to you with I think it's breaking those patterns they start to see the things that they keep rinsing and repeating and doing in their life and they start to recognize that they don't want to play that scenario over and over again.
- 49:15SPEAKER_00: That's probably the person that I attract and they they recognize that they they want to make a career change or they want to change something in their personal life and so they want to break this and so like for instance I call it the perpetual fixer is my my life coaching product my business executive coaching product it's the high achieving professional that wants to peak perform be productive and they actually are not sure do I do you know does my peace of mind and my passion and purpose have to wane in order to that you know it's no you can actually do it.
- 49:50SPEAKER_00: You don't lose your edge you actually become more productive you actually become more because you're living from a space of passion purpose and that peak performance and productivity happens.
- 50:01SPEAKER_00: So you can tell it's like programming patterning in their life those are the things that that they want to break or change.
- 50:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah is it a lot of women who are in like more corporate and then they want to is there something more or like is there is this all that there is or something like that.
- 50:21SPEAKER_00: Correct and I get um and it's neat because I get and I work with a lot of men and women and probably 5050 and it's neat because I can think of one right now.
- 50:33SPEAKER_00: So he was at this big company and he was just this one little fit and he couldn't make the impact that he wanted and we actually saw all the coaching and all that we did he began to see what he loved what he was good at what he was passionate about.
- 50:48SPEAKER_00: He didn't have to go and leave working for the man you know corporate America I can actually bring what I love into this and put it in an environment where I can have a profound impact and I call it conscious leadership.
- 51:03SPEAKER_00: So I have those then I have some that I've watched them transition and one um actually retained me when she lost her job which was huge to make an investment in yourself when you just lost your job.
- 51:15SPEAKER_00: Now she's living her best life she attracted the type of work she wanted it's neat it's you're just teaching people that they have the power to create it's just not I don't work with a ton of entrepreneurs um I'd love to be have more entrepreneurs but it in like myself but I do do a lot of business with corporate America professionals trying to navigate the politics trying to navigate and be their authentic self.
- 51:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah and also you understand that world too like so I think it makes a lot of sense because you've like been there and also like not everyone needs to be an entrepreneur.
- 51:54SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 51:55SPEAKER_00: I told my kids when I was like man you know working for the man or working for the machine make sure you set yourself some boundaries make sure you're doing you're always staying true to you you're staying in the lane that you like it's not all about the money.
- 52:09SPEAKER_00: The money will come and you can always have a side hustle.
- 52:12SPEAKER_01: You can always have a side hustle up I was talking about this with my friend the other day because now there's you know so many people are doing their own thing and making money which is great.
- 52:23SPEAKER_01: But I also think there's this way where then like people are like oh I'm just gonna do that but they don't have like an actual thing like I feel like you also have to have a thing like yeah and and that could develop right but I also think that some people can mistake just wanting you know more to be more of themselves or to have more freedom or whatever with being an entrepreneur.
- 52:47SPEAKER_01: And those aren't always interchangeable because like like you're saying you can find all of those things like when you have a job.
- 52:54SPEAKER_01: It's literally just about the inner shifts and I think that's a mistake that I see some people making is just like thinking that that's the answer when the answer probably is just the internal shifts and maybe eventually you will become an entrepreneur.
- 53:11SPEAKER_01: Who knows?
- 53:12SPEAKER_01: But I'm just saying it's not the answer for everyone and I think it's like kind of painted that way these days.
- 53:19SPEAKER_00: Oh and it upsets me when it's painted that way because you can have such a profound impact on others.
- 53:27SPEAKER_00: If you are the manager the VP the director and you have people reporting and you are a conscious leader you have just improved so many lives mentored people without hanging in the shingle that I'm a mentor and a coach.
- 53:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah and then talk about a way of living the entrepreneur way of living is straight commission.
- 53:48SPEAKER_00: Let's just talk take the big elephant out for everyone you know six figures even their first you go hello how do you feel about straight commission and they're like well what do you mean and I go that's basically what you're doing you're gonna go straight commission there's no one feeding you anything you're all of a sudden you're straight commission.
- 54:08SPEAKER_00: How do you feel about that?
- 54:10SPEAKER_00: They're like well really it's not a sales job you know I'm looking for no you're selling yourself you're selling you know so it's it's not for everybody.
- 54:18SPEAKER_00: So that's what's really and and you have to be highly I mean that's a whole nother rabbit hole because I've had people been instructed to go out on their own and then they closed up shop.
- 54:28SPEAKER_00: They tried to run a business and they ended up closing and they wasted their 401k monies and all this stuff and I want to say I want to shoot whoever told you it's like I heard from coaching this person.
- 54:42SPEAKER_00: I know that they are not cut out for because like I said I've been one for since I was 28 years old.
- 54:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah I know what it takes.
- 54:50SPEAKER_00: I know it's a certain type of and I wouldn't even say I'm good at it I've just been doing now talking about an old dog at 60 I'm not changing gears.
- 54:59SPEAKER_00: I can't even imagine working for somebody yeah but you can have such a profound impact like this one guy that I'm talking about big fish I he is so lathered up he is having so much fun because he's actually going to change lives and leave a legacy like that's what people want they want to leave I want to retire feeling like I've changed lives.
- 55:20SPEAKER_00: Well now this guy's gonna have done it.
- 55:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah and so this is the stuff it just and again it's seeing yourself being authentic being real not you know how you perceive and that's truth.
- 55:32SPEAKER_01: I love that no it's so true.
- 55:34SPEAKER_01: And I think it's important because I think it really is you know about listening to yourself and finding that authenticity within yourself.
- 55:43SPEAKER_01: And it doesn't always have to mean what you think it means in the beginning because I think a lot of people like go down this path and they think it's going to be one thing and it ends up being something else and that's okay.
- 55:55SPEAKER_01: Cause you know the other thing too is I think that a lot of people they create their goals and like their vision or their motivation from actually a wounded place right where it's like if I do this then I'll feel good enough or then I'll prove to people that I'm worthy or whatever.
- 56:16SPEAKER_01: And then I always see for people who have those motivations as they go down the path and heal their vision becomes very different because it's no longer being fueled by the need to feel good enough or worthy.
- 56:30SPEAKER_01: So then it changes and that's okay.
- 56:34SPEAKER_00: Exactly no that's exactly it because I always say to people when you start living from a place of authenticity and creating a life by design when you are speaking and you're able to articulate actually how you feel what you're thinking from that space you are healing and you're giving a healing to somebody else.
- 56:54SPEAKER_00: So not a you know it's like wow I walked away and I I said all those things and I thought wow that was really damn good.
- 56:59SPEAKER_00: I really said all those nice things to that person.
- 57:02SPEAKER_00: And I'm like and guess what?
- 57:03SPEAKER_00: When you were saying that stuff you were having an epiphany for your own self.
- 57:07SPEAKER_00: So it's like just enjoy that every dynamic is student teacher teacher student that is teaching you you're evolving you know just don't put on the brakes don't meet it with resistance don't look like everybody's out to get you it's just what is why is this happening to me what does this have to teach me that's an art to learn how to look at yourself that way.
- 57:29SPEAKER_01: It's not natural for sure for sure because also it is you know and I've noticed this for myself and as like as much work as I do there's like certain places where if I'm not fully ready to look at something then it'll feel mysterious right it's like well why is this happening or why and it's like the only reason I can't see that clearly is because there's something that I'm not willing to look at like there's something I'm not willing to see there's something I'm not willing to admit but then once you see it once you admit it once you're willing to face it then it's like oh duh that's obviously why I've been creating this.
- 58:05SPEAKER_00: Exactly right I tell people all the time it's not for the non-courageous but just any of this work is not for the non-courageous.
- 58:13SPEAKER_00: No.
- 58:14SPEAKER_00: But if you want to embrace your authenticity you want to be the best version of yourself my business is awaken with light so awaken the light within you however you want to think about it it is so rewarding.
- 58:27SPEAKER_00: I can't even imagine living my life from any other space for but I didn't say it was easy.
- 58:33SPEAKER_00: I'm still challenged but I navigate it with grace and ease.
- 58:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah that to me is worth you know millions of dollars.
- 58:41SPEAKER_01: Oh my God yeah well just like doing doing what you love on a daily basis like for me it's like I can't even at times where I felt things were hard or I felt like I was going through something I still will always come back to this place of like I don't even have any kind of concept of anything else I could ever do.
- 59:00SPEAKER_01: I literally have not one idea of anything else I could ever do other than this like literally nothing like I can't even imagine anything else.
- 59:11SPEAKER_01: So it's just like you just like keep going.
- 59:14SPEAKER_00: Exactly exact I mean I have people that laugh and say God please don't retire on me and I'm like hey by the time that comes I will have certified people in the pathway to inner peace I'll have people believe me I I'll know when it's time to certify people in my methodology.
- 59:32SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna leave everybody you know because I've I'm on to something as be the same thing as yours.
- 59:36SPEAKER_00: You'll figure out how to pass your work on to the next for you know wave of people so you know that's it it's like you can't imagine doing anything else.
