- 0:07Speaker 2: Ala.
- 0:08Speaker 3: Hi, We're so excited to be here with you guys today.
- 0:11Speaker 4: It's our first episode.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Oh god, I can you imagine? So we're here together?
- 0:19Speaker 2: Oh my god, My god, are you nervous? I'm very excited.
- 0:21Speaker 2: I can't believe this is happening. Me too. I'm I'm
- 0:24Speaker 2: so proud of us that we got here. And iHeart
- 0:26Speaker 2: Radio wanted us. Yes, of course they did. We made it.
- 0:30Speaker 2: We have so much to say. We'll get you. You
- 0:36Speaker 2: know what, I'd like to start from the beginning.
- 0:38Speaker 4: Do you remember when we first met?
- 0:40Speaker 2: Oh? I like that.
- 0:41Speaker 4: That sounds like a question a guy would ask me.
- 0:44Speaker 2: But I actually like my ands aer better. Of course
- 0:47Speaker 2: I do.
- 0:47Speaker 3: How can I forget that day? I have like a
- 0:50Speaker 3: big small in my face.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Your first day with Herman kind of.
- 0:54Speaker 4: It was one of her first dates.
- 0:56Speaker 3: And you know, her Ma was very philanthropic, so he
- 0:58Speaker 3: always telling a charity that's right, and Herman was always
- 1:01Speaker 3: involved in charities and on boards. So he invited me
- 1:05Speaker 3: to this event and Lincoln rode at Touch Yeah, touch exactly,
- 1:09Speaker 3: And it was Miami Children's that benefited Miami Children's Hospital,
- 1:13Speaker 3: and there you were, before your PR agency.
- 1:17Speaker 4: You were already doing PR work and you.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Didn't even know it.
- 1:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I knew I was doing it though, No, but
- 1:22Speaker 3: you didn't know well, you knew what you were doing,
- 1:23Speaker 3: but I'm saying you didn't know what's gonna do that, right.
- 1:26Speaker 3: I was there with Robert, your friend, right, And then
- 1:29Speaker 3: I knew Robert from back in the day from high school.
- 1:33Speaker 3: Robert kin Terra was one of my dear friends. And
- 1:35Speaker 3: we sat down together and we were just like talking,
- 1:39Speaker 3: going back and forth in dinner.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:41Speaker 1: And then later on our cross path our paths crossed
- 1:47Speaker 1: went at the PR from the magazine, and then we start.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Doing a few years later when you opened up your agency,
- 1:52Speaker 3: invited me and I was there to celebrate you. And
- 1:55Speaker 3: then from there we just like just became friends like that,
- 1:59Speaker 3: Like I had the magazine, we're so friends. We started
- 2:02Speaker 3: with working friends, and then we became personal friends.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Charity events all the time, that's right. Yeah. And then
- 2:08Speaker 2: the show camera well.
- 2:09Speaker 4: The show camera on in twenty ten.
- 2:10Speaker 2: But we casted two thousand and nine, we did.
- 2:13Speaker 3: I don't even remember that, but I remember you be
- 2:16Speaker 3: part of it, and I remember Herman allowing me to
- 2:18Speaker 3: do it because you were going to be part of
- 2:20Speaker 3: the cast.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Yeah, you and Leah. I remember that.
- 2:22Speaker 3: Those were like my conditions, right, his conditions. Okay, Leah
- 2:26Speaker 3: Black is doing it and Marisolpan's doing it.
- 2:28Speaker 1: You did to do it exactly, but without them you
- 2:30Speaker 1: can't do it, right.
- 2:31Speaker 2: I was like, don't worry, I'm doing it.
- 2:33Speaker 4: Yeah, so we're doing it together.
- 2:35Speaker 3: I was like, oh my god, how do we do this?
- 2:36Speaker 3: So you started casting for the Housewives.
- 2:40Speaker 4: On your own?
- 2:40Speaker 2: I went.
- 2:41Speaker 1: They were calling my office. They wanted wealthy society women
- 2:45Speaker 1: to try out for a show.
- 2:46Speaker 4: And for whatever reason, right, they thought that would be good.
- 2:49Speaker 2: So I was calling on my friends and their husbands
- 2:51Speaker 2: wouldn't let them do anything. And I had this little
- 2:52Speaker 2: voice and that would be me. Yeah, exactly. I had
- 2:55Speaker 2: this little voice inside of me that was like, maybe
- 2:57Speaker 2: you should try out, Maybe you should try out. Anyway,
- 3:00Speaker 2: fast forward, here we are, right.
- 3:02Speaker 4: So I had the little voice inside of me as well.
- 3:04Speaker 2: You did I that, Yeah, I have.
- 3:10Speaker 3: So because I was married at the time to like
- 3:13Speaker 3: the typical Cuban man Matista, super controlling that wouldn't want
- 3:17Speaker 3: to be part of any of this because if you know, Latinos.
- 3:20Speaker 2: You know that no Latino wants.
- 3:22Speaker 3: Their wife to be on a reality show exposing all
- 3:25Speaker 3: the skeletons from the closet.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Or doing anything independent that too are outshining them absolutely.
- 3:31Speaker 2: And that's the reason why I exactly wanted to do it.
- 3:33Speaker 3: Yeah, I was like, yes, I right, Like, I'm not
- 3:36Speaker 3: going to be your wife, now you're going to be
- 3:38Speaker 3: my husband. And that's kind of like what happened a
- 3:40Speaker 3: few years later. I mean, I'm kidding about that because
- 3:43Speaker 3: you know, I didn't really want to, but I mean
- 3:44Speaker 3: I feel like now talking about that, like a lot
- 3:46Speaker 3: of women, like, for example, I can only speak for myself,
- 3:49Speaker 3: but when not that you've been in the shadow of
- 3:51Speaker 3: your husband, but when you're kind of like it's like
- 3:53Speaker 3: all about them and you're just like your wife. You know,
- 3:56Speaker 3: this opportunity came about and it was really about me.
- 3:59Speaker 3: It wasn't about him or about us. It was kind
- 4:01Speaker 3: of like something that I wanted to do and I
- 4:04Speaker 3: and that's.
- 4:05Speaker 2: What I did. So I actually cast it behind.
- 4:07Speaker 4: His back, Oh yes, and knew that, Yes, I.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Was only my mom. It was only my mom.
- 4:13Speaker 3: So a lot of people are in Miami were like,
- 4:14Speaker 3: oh my god, Alexia, you would be great for this.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Nothing. I had to do it. I had to do it.
- 4:19Speaker 3: I like I said, I was married to a very
- 4:21Speaker 3: controlling man that would have never been okay with this.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Ask you something, well, how did you think that was
- 4:25Speaker 2: going to blow over?
- 4:26Speaker 1: I didn't think I was going to get picked, So
- 4:28Speaker 1: you didn't tell him ntil you got picked?
- 4:30Speaker 3: Yes, yes, till the cameras that were coming the next
- 4:33Speaker 3: day to meet my family and said, oh my goodness, no,
- 4:38Speaker 3: that was that was like asa, you know, give him
- 4:44Speaker 3: a couple of drinks and you know everything, everything took
- 4:47Speaker 3: care of everything. But he was really reluctant, you know,
- 4:50Speaker 3: to doing that because, like I said, I think like
- 4:51Speaker 3: us Latinos, you know, it's kind of like it's not okay.
- 4:55Speaker 4: You know, it's not okay about you know, talking about certain.
- 4:58Speaker 3: Things in that you you don't want, like your family
- 5:01Speaker 3: in fronts to know about, and you don't want the
- 5:03Speaker 3: world to know about.
- 5:04Speaker 2: So we were raised that way.
- 5:05Speaker 3: We were raised like you know, you don't exactly you
- 5:11Speaker 3: know a lot of the skeletons stay in the closet
- 5:14Speaker 3: and that kind of thing. So fast forward, I only
- 5:16Speaker 3: had one casting. I know, all the girls in Miami
- 5:18Speaker 3: were casting a lot. I only did one casting, and
- 5:21Speaker 3: I guess I nailed it. I guess I nailed it
- 5:23Speaker 3: because a few minutes later, Yeah, we were.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Born to do this.
- 5:27Speaker 3: So they told us get ready because we want to
- 5:30Speaker 3: meet your family. So that's a different story. But you
- 5:33Speaker 3: know that it's now more about you and I now,
- 5:35Speaker 3: like you know, that's history. The show already happened, and
- 5:38Speaker 3: we're here thirteen years later doing our all of these
- 5:42Speaker 3: seasons that we've done.
- 5:44Speaker 2: So it's funny because we didn't even know.
- 5:46Speaker 3: But again, I think the viewers need to know that
- 5:49Speaker 3: one of the reasons that I was able to do
- 5:51Speaker 3: this show was because of you, because they also picked
- 5:54Speaker 3: you and they picked Leah. So Herman had a relationship
- 5:57Speaker 3: with you and with Leah, and he's like, okay A,
- 6:00Speaker 3: Lea and Marisol are doing it.
- 6:02Speaker 2: I'll let you do it. I didn't have to ask
- 6:03Speaker 2: anyone for profession.
- 6:05Speaker 3: Well that's a good thing about being a single and
- 6:07Speaker 3: independent right. Yeah, Robot was recruiting and I didn't know,
- 6:11Speaker 3: but you were there were you know, they were casting
- 6:14Speaker 3: you and they were casting me. And fast forward, we
- 6:17Speaker 3: both found out that we were selected and then our
- 6:20Speaker 3: journey started as housewives on this amazing franchise and show.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Yeah, we love it.
- 6:26Speaker 4: So do you remember what it was like like filming
- 6:28Speaker 4: back then like versus now?
- 6:30Speaker 2: It was like the blind leading the blind.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Nobody knew what they were doing, especially season one, We're like,
- 6:34Speaker 1: what are we doing?
- 6:35Speaker 3: Oh my god, I didn't even know, like it was
- 6:37Speaker 3: a housewife show for that matter. I think that that
- 6:39Speaker 3: was another reason why Herman let me do it, because
- 6:42Speaker 3: it was kind of like it was untitled. Nobody knew
- 6:44Speaker 3: even though I always knew, like deep in my heart,
- 6:46Speaker 3: I was like, this sounds like a housewife show.
- 6:49Speaker 4: Like so, I'm not sure. I didn't want to give
- 6:51Speaker 4: it you know that yet.
- 6:52Speaker 3: But it's like you said, like, we didn't know what
- 6:54Speaker 3: we're doing, you know, we signed up for something that
- 6:57Speaker 3: we didn't know, even though obviously there was other shows
- 6:59Speaker 3: going on the air.
- 7:00Speaker 2: But I didn't really know what I was doing.
- 7:03Speaker 3: And I feel like you and I we both did
- 7:05Speaker 3: it because of our businesses. Like I had the magazine
- 7:08Speaker 3: back then venue I thought it was a great business
- 7:10Speaker 3: opportunity to you know, have my magazine like all over
- 7:15Speaker 3: the world and for sure nationally, you know, I wanted
- 7:18Speaker 3: to do like the crossover, even though it's a Spanish magazine,
- 7:21Speaker 3: the crossover into the American market, I thought would be
- 7:24Speaker 3: super cool. I wanted to showcase, like, you know, all
- 7:26Speaker 3: my covers of all like the Hispano Hispanics, you know,
- 7:30Speaker 3: Latinos and I had on the cover, and I was
- 7:33Speaker 3: super excited. I really I think I had a lot
- 7:35Speaker 3: to do with it because of that. I always saw
- 7:38Speaker 3: it like a good platform and a good business. It
- 7:40Speaker 3: made sense business one.
- 7:42Speaker 2: That's why I did it.
- 7:42Speaker 1: I thought it would be really great for business. I was,
- 7:45Speaker 1: we were doing amazing. I thought, imagine the potential.
- 7:48Speaker 4: Right, And I feel like back then, we can get
- 7:50Speaker 4: away with so much more. Right, there was no social media.
- 7:53Speaker 2: It was the internet, but tsave.
- 7:55Speaker 3: You didn't have to Nowadays it's like you can't get
- 7:57Speaker 3: away with nothing. Like thirteen years later, or we're doing
- 8:00Speaker 3: this show and it's like everybody has an opinion.
- 8:04Speaker 4: There's no secrets, there's no privacy.
- 8:07Speaker 2: You get in trouble for everything. Yeah, have to be
- 8:09Speaker 2: extremely cautious memory love everything.
- 8:13Speaker 3: I mean, I feel like there's so many haters. I
- 8:14Speaker 3: think like back then, I didn't realize. I mean, unfortunately,
- 8:17Speaker 3: I know that there's a lot of hate in the world,
- 8:20Speaker 3: and but we really didn't know how it worked like
- 8:23Speaker 3: it was.
- 8:23Speaker 4: We weren't so aware of the hate, right.
- 8:26Speaker 3: And I think now with social media, especially Instagram, where
- 8:30Speaker 3: people can just like just go on your page and
- 8:32Speaker 3: write whatever comments they want, it's it's a whole different world. Yeah,
- 8:37Speaker 3: and I don't like it pretty bad.
- 8:42Speaker 1: I wake up sometimes I'm like, let me check my
- 8:44Speaker 1: insults for the day.
- 8:48Speaker 3: Well, I'll leave that to you because I don't check anything.
- 8:50Speaker 3: I don't even have time to check my real emails.
- 8:52Speaker 3: So I really don't care what you know, Joey from
- 8:55Speaker 3: Indiana thinks about me or my family, because, like I said,
- 8:59Speaker 3: you know, you have to sometimes just like, oh.
- 9:02Speaker 2: No, you can't. You can't listen to that, or else
- 9:04Speaker 2: we wouldn't be able to do what we do. Yeah.
- 9:08Speaker 1: You know what I like about you is you're always
- 9:10Speaker 1: ready to have fun and party with me, no matter
- 9:12Speaker 1: what time it is.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Yes, Yeah, And it's not the same in reverse.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Sometimes elect you likes to party a lot, which I love,
- 9:19Speaker 1: But sometimes I'm not always down to party. If you
- 9:21Speaker 1: can believe that, all right, you get all the credit
- 9:24Speaker 1: for it, right, it's the kind of the reverse, right.
- 9:27Speaker 3: But I think we bring out the best in each
- 9:29Speaker 3: of each other, right, Like I see you, we both
- 9:31Speaker 3: like glide each other up no matter what are days going, like,
- 9:34Speaker 3: we just see each other even without a cocky and
- 9:37Speaker 3: we just kind of like smile and we just have
- 9:40Speaker 3: like this like this love and just looking.
- 9:43Speaker 1: At things like home and I'm like, oh, no, that's
- 9:45Speaker 1: going to be fun because you always make me laugh.
- 9:47Speaker 2: I think I make you laugh.
- 9:48Speaker 3: You like my drinks, right, No, I love And you're
- 9:52Speaker 3: also a really good listener because you know, I have
- 9:54Speaker 3: a lot of things to say.
- 9:55Speaker 2: I'm a good sounding board. You give good advice than
- 10:01Speaker 2: you are.
- 10:02Speaker 3: You are You're like since I think because you never
- 10:04Speaker 3: had like a sister growing up. I know you've had
- 10:06Speaker 3: a lot of friends, but I feel like you're that friend.
- 10:09Speaker 3: You know you love to have friends, you like you
- 10:11Speaker 3: do love girls.
- 10:13Speaker 2: You know I love girlfriends. Yeah, yeah, And I love
- 10:16Speaker 2: that about you. I am. I love that you love
- 10:18Speaker 2: to have fun. Yeah, and here we are.
- 10:20Speaker 3: We've had so many fun moments in our lives. You know,
- 10:23Speaker 3: we've also unfortunately had sad moments. And you've also been
- 10:25Speaker 3: there for me and you know, any momento, but you
- 10:30Speaker 3: know you made me stronger and you made me stronger, right,
- 10:34Speaker 3: And I think that that's why our relationship and our
- 10:36Speaker 3: friendship is the way it is.
- 10:37Speaker 1: We appreciate a lot of things on each other, and
- 10:41Speaker 1: I feel like you don't take it for granted.
- 10:42Speaker 3: Bro, I don't take you for granted either. It's been
- 10:47Speaker 3: a while, it's been twenty three years.
- 10:48Speaker 2: I can't believe it.
- 10:49Speaker 3: It was like that we could just sit here and
- 10:51Speaker 3: talk about like all our crazy nights that we've had together. Okay,
- 10:55Speaker 3: which one, especially when I was single, I was like,
- 10:58Speaker 3: let loose out of the bird case. Oh remember, yeah
- 11:01Speaker 3: that was fun, So go bro, Yeah, you go, bro.
- 11:05Speaker 3: And we just had so many fun nights just like
- 11:08Speaker 3: going out and kind of like doing all the things
- 11:10Speaker 3: that I again didn't get to South Beach. Yes, just
- 11:13Speaker 3: let's leave it that way, right, Just having a lot
- 11:15Speaker 3: of fun moments in South Beach, going to events together
- 11:18Speaker 3: and just kind of be like free and loose and
- 11:21Speaker 3: just like freestyle like we love to do.
- 11:24Speaker 2: I love freestyling. That's what we're doing right now. That's
- 11:28Speaker 2: what I do on the show. I just free.
- 11:30Speaker 3: I don't care what anybody's fighting about. I'm freestyling right. Well,
- 11:34Speaker 3: that's what it should be about. Yeah, so before we
- 11:36Speaker 3: get into our next segment, we're going to take a
- 11:38Speaker 3: quick break and we'll be back with some hot topics.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Okay, Alex, Yeah, what's our first hot topic?
- 11:54Speaker 3: I feel our first hot topic should be Anna did
- 11:56Speaker 3: Armas on Saturday Night Live.
- 11:59Speaker 2: Oh my god, that was.
- 12:00Speaker 4: How incredible was that?
- 12:02Speaker 2: Oh my god? It was so high.
- 12:04Speaker 4: I had goose swims all over me. I was like screaming.
- 12:07Speaker 3: First of all, I'm a huge fan of hers, and
- 12:09Speaker 3: the fact that she's Cuban.
- 12:11Speaker 2: I was hoping she gets that even more.
- 12:13Speaker 3: But she was nominated as Best Actress and she totally
- 12:16Speaker 3: deserves it.
- 12:18Speaker 2: She's beautiful.
- 12:19Speaker 3: And we were out to dinner today and we came
- 12:22Speaker 3: home Saturday night and to turn on.
- 12:24Speaker 2: And we watched it.
- 12:25Speaker 3: Yes, and we watched it, and I was like, babe,
- 12:28Speaker 3: oh my god, she's speaking Spanish.
- 12:31Speaker 1: I got goosebumps just like I have right now. Likes
- 12:34Speaker 1: to her Cuban accent, but her English is really good.
- 12:37Speaker 1: You can't tell well, just like us. Right It's like,
- 12:39Speaker 1: I'm Cuban American, you have an accent. I have an accent.
- 12:44Speaker 1: It's Miami, but you know what I mean.
- 12:46Speaker 3: So she did live in Spain for many years, so
- 12:49Speaker 3: her she did, right, but she's an actress, like, we're
- 12:51Speaker 3: not right, I'm an actress, okay. So anyways, I was
- 12:54Speaker 3: so proud, like being Latina. I can totally relate to
- 12:57Speaker 3: her and the fact of hearing on Saturday Night Live
- 13:02Speaker 3: speaking Spanish and opening up in Spanish in Gracias, and
- 13:07Speaker 3: I loved how she like turned it into fun, like
- 13:10Speaker 3: I'm just joking, like I can literally speak English, right,
- 13:13Speaker 3: I speak English as well.
- 13:14Speaker 2: She killed it. I was looking at her, thinking that's
- 13:16Speaker 2: going to be me one day, I'm gonna host. I
- 13:19Speaker 2: was thinking the same thing.
- 13:22Speaker 3: I'm really proud again, like I said, of just having
- 13:25Speaker 3: that representation and that the world is finally understanding that
- 13:30Speaker 3: Spanish is a very important language and not only our language.
- 13:35Speaker 4: But our culture. You know, Latinos are in style like that.
- 13:38Speaker 2: I really believe that. I really think Latinos like we're trending.
- 13:43Speaker 2: We make them the more. Well.
- 13:45Speaker 3: I feel like we've shown that in our show as well.
- 13:48Speaker 3: We're like incorporating, like what we're doing now. You know,
- 13:50Speaker 3: we speak Spanish, we speak English, you know, and we
- 13:53Speaker 3: and we can do it all.
- 13:54Speaker 2: We sure can, honey.
- 13:56Speaker 3: We sure can. So if Anna there a armors wasn't enough,
- 14:01Speaker 3: she brought into her Spanish lesson the musical guest, which
- 14:05Speaker 3: was Carol Gee. I'm obsessed with Carol g So, by
- 14:09Speaker 3: the way, she lived in my building.
- 14:11Speaker 2: She was girlfriend.
- 14:12Speaker 4: She was Annual's girlfriend. Annual is the.
- 14:16Speaker 3: From Puerto Rico, and so she lived in my building.
- 14:20Speaker 3: She's just as nice and sweet as you saw her.
- 14:23Speaker 2: She's Colombian.
- 14:24Speaker 3: And her music she has a song called Dusa It's everything.
- 14:29Speaker 3: So she performed. She was trying to, you know, in
- 14:33Speaker 3: her class, she was trying to show them the alphabet
- 14:35Speaker 3: in Spanish.
- 14:36Speaker 4: So it's like, ah, bay see sexy alphabet, super super cute.
- 14:41Speaker 3: So the fact that they co hosted two latinas, co
- 14:44Speaker 3: hosted the Saturday Night Life, that's huge.
- 14:47Speaker 4: It's just it's just everything.
- 14:48Speaker 3: So it's a lot to be grateful and proud about.
- 14:53Speaker 2: We're next. Oh yeah, I'm not giving up to work there,
- 14:56Speaker 2: that's for sure. And I don't know I'm a Saturday
- 14:57Speaker 2: Night Live.
- 14:58Speaker 4: You could be the funny one. You're actually really funny.
- 15:01Speaker 4: I wouldn't mind a regular role on there, well I would.
- 15:03Speaker 4: That's a lot of work.
- 15:04Speaker 2: And talk to Lauren Michaels.
- 15:07Speaker 3: Okay, so bad Bunny is also trending and he's like,
- 15:11Speaker 3: he's he's huge right now. And I don't blame Kendall,
- 15:15Speaker 3: like who would not want to date?
- 15:17Speaker 1: But those girls are all free styling. All the Kardashians
- 15:19Speaker 1: are freestyling. They're going through like dating all the hot guys.
- 15:23Speaker 1: And horseback riding on a beach with a Puerto Rican
- 15:26Speaker 1: guy sounds good to me.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I think so too.
- 15:28Speaker 3: I think he's giving her some mofongo and she tried
- 15:32Speaker 3: it and she liked it, and she's not letting go right, so,
- 15:38Speaker 3: you know, I feel like, who's you know, some people
- 15:41Speaker 3: might say that it's a publicity stunt just because she's
- 15:44Speaker 3: a Kardashian, you know, and they kind of like do
- 15:46Speaker 3: that a lot.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Well, I can't speak for them. I don't think they
- 15:48Speaker 2: do that.
- 15:49Speaker 3: I think they know what's good, and I think, oh,
- 15:52Speaker 3: this one's like, this is a good one, you know
- 15:53Speaker 3: what I mean. He's like, he's cute, he's super talented,
- 15:56Speaker 3: he's a very smart guy.
- 15:58Speaker 4: He's very Puerto.
- 15:59Speaker 3: Rican, you know, and he is and what I mean
- 16:02Speaker 3: by that, what I mean by that is the fact
- 16:05Speaker 3: that he loves his culture.
- 16:06Speaker 4: He loves his island. He's very proud to be who
- 16:08Speaker 4: he is.
- 16:09Speaker 3: He hardly even speaks English, so hopefully Kencels teach him
- 16:12Speaker 3: a little bit of English.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Maybe that's playing it along so well they can't communicate exactly.
- 16:19Speaker 3: Hopefully she's learning a little bit of Spanish and she'll
- 16:21Speaker 3: be speaking Spanglish like us very soon.
- 16:24Speaker 4: And why not, you know, why not?
- 16:25Speaker 3: Why do people have to say, oh, it's for publicity,
- 16:28Speaker 3: Oh it's for the show, you know what we can think?
- 16:30Speaker 1: Because the people think that about all of them. So
- 16:33Speaker 1: they're always going to think that the minute they're dating
- 16:35Speaker 1: somebody new.
- 16:35Speaker 3: Right, But why can't people just think that people actually
- 16:39Speaker 3: like each other And it doesn't matter who you are,
- 16:42Speaker 3: you know, where you're from.
- 16:44Speaker 4: Listen, back in the day, I dated a lot.
- 16:47Speaker 1: They could have thought the same thing about me, but
- 16:48Speaker 1: I wasn't under a microscope.
- 16:50Speaker 4: So unfortunately everybody's watching them under a microscope.
- 16:52Speaker 3: That's true, and like, and how would that be beneficial
- 16:55Speaker 3: to her or beneficial to him?
- 16:57Speaker 2: You know?
- 16:58Speaker 3: I think that these two people are like at the
- 17:01Speaker 3: top of the world, you know what I mean. So
- 17:03Speaker 3: I think that the only benefit they would have is
- 17:06Speaker 3: that they would actually like each other and learn from
- 17:08Speaker 3: each other, Like she could learn a little.
- 17:09Speaker 2: Spanish, she can learn how to move book.
- 17:11Speaker 3: I saw her in Coachella and yeah, she was like
- 17:14Speaker 3: moving like oh really, oh yeah, she was throwing those
- 17:16Speaker 3: moves in there, like you know, the little saltsa and
- 17:18Speaker 3: the little thing the candle.
- 17:20Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:21Speaker 3: I feel that they can both benefit from each other
- 17:24Speaker 3: and even like be.
- 17:24Speaker 2: Better than what they are.
- 17:36Speaker 4: So let's talk about Shaquiro.
- 17:38Speaker 3: Now that we're speaking about all these like fabulous Latinos
- 17:41Speaker 3: and that they're known all over the world because of
- 17:45Speaker 3: the incredible talent that they have and also because they're
- 17:48Speaker 3: public people. I mean, whether we like it or not,
- 17:51Speaker 3: you know, we or they in this case, you know,
- 17:54Speaker 3: sign up, but not really to show their public life.
- 17:57Speaker 3: You know, they have a different life than we do,
- 17:59Speaker 3: for example, Right, So I can only say that I
- 18:02Speaker 3: kind of signed up to do the show, which is
- 18:04Speaker 3: a reality show where I open up my life, you know,
- 18:07Speaker 3: to the viewers and to the audience. So in Shakira's case,
- 18:11Speaker 3: she opens up her musical life, you know, her talent,
- 18:14Speaker 3: her singing, you know, to the audience, but not necessarily
- 18:19Speaker 3: her personal life. Unfortunately, it goes hand in hand yeah, right,
- 18:24Speaker 3: and it's part of the game. And it's really difficult
- 18:27Speaker 3: to separate both. Even though we know Shakira as a singer,
- 18:32Speaker 3: we also know her married to Piquet, which is also
- 18:35Speaker 3: another public figure and an athlete.
- 18:38Speaker 4: So it's really hard.
- 18:39Speaker 3: But when it comes to the kids, I totally feel
- 18:43Speaker 3: for her because these kids are young kids and you know,
- 18:47Speaker 3: I have children, you have step children, and you.
- 18:50Speaker 2: Know, our kids have nothing to do with this, of.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Course, and it's very dangerous for them also for people
- 18:55Speaker 1: to see their faces. They could be kidnapped, you know, right.
- 18:57Speaker 3: I mean she's pretty in the public eye, a little it,
- 19:00Speaker 3: but you know, and she controls it, like she's controlling
- 19:02Speaker 3: obviously the errors, as she should because she's a parent
- 19:05Speaker 3: and we want to protect our children. And in this case,
- 19:08Speaker 3: like why is it important for the paparazzi to follow
- 19:11Speaker 3: her children to school? Like I don't agree with that,
- 19:14Speaker 3: Like how do you feel about that? And why is
- 19:16Speaker 3: that important to get a shot of her kids at school?
- 19:18Speaker 3: Isn't it hard enough with her kids or going through
- 19:21Speaker 3: you know what I mean already publicly that they're going through,
- 19:24Speaker 3: you know, such a horrible divorce, you know, in front
- 19:27Speaker 3: of the world. And they're already at an age that
- 19:29Speaker 3: they can read and write and and and they're connected
- 19:32Speaker 3: to the internet, and they have their friends at.
- 19:34Speaker 2: School, and their friends don't have the same life.
- 19:37Speaker 4: They don't understand, right, I think, why this?
- 19:40Speaker 1: You know, when you don't want to show your children
- 19:43Speaker 1: and they know it's something you're trying to hide, that's
- 19:45Speaker 1: when they want it more.
- 19:47Speaker 4: They go after it more. But the children to be untouchable.
- 19:51Speaker 3: They're going to you know what, if they want to
- 19:53Speaker 3: picture Shakira on the beach with her hot body in
- 19:56Speaker 3: Miami Beach.
- 19:57Speaker 4: I'm totally for it, believe for kids alone.
- 20:00Speaker 2: But they don't. They're don't you know, they want that shot.
- 20:03Speaker 1: They know that's the shot that she doesn't want to
- 20:05Speaker 1: get out there, so they want it even more, you know, right.
- 20:08Speaker 3: So you know, I do wort the fact that she
- 20:09Speaker 3: did put that on Instagram, and that's kind of like
- 20:12Speaker 3: what gives up we were talking about the power of
- 20:14Speaker 3: social media.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Don't you think that's going to make it even worse.
- 20:19Speaker 3: I mean, I'm hoping that it won't make it worse.
- 20:22Speaker 3: I'm hoping that's to be worse. But I feel like
- 20:24Speaker 3: it's just right. But I feel that that's why she
- 20:26Speaker 3: actually left Barcelona. You know, she wanted to come because
- 20:30Speaker 3: in Barcelona, I can say because I lived in Madrid
- 20:33Speaker 3: and I know how important, you know, in Spain the
- 20:36Speaker 3: whole media is and how they haunt you. You know,
- 20:39Speaker 3: that's why Juliglesias ended up living here, you know, Seiglesia.
- 20:42Speaker 3: They wanted to come here for privacy because I feel that,
- 20:46Speaker 3: in especially in Spain, that they really don't respect that,
- 20:50Speaker 3: Like they're like obsessed with coming out in Ola and
- 20:53Speaker 3: getting the pictures, you know, and Ola magazine.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Mother loved it, yes, my mom, and so did I.
- 20:59Speaker 4: When I moved to I would buy it every week.
- 21:01Speaker 4: I was like obsessed with.
- 21:02Speaker 2: It and the Monico family. So you know, I feel like.
- 21:06Speaker 3: The media needs to respect that. She had to leave
- 21:08Speaker 3: her home in Barcelona in Spain because she couldn't have
- 21:12Speaker 3: a life there with her kids, you know, following them,
- 21:15Speaker 3: and you know, no matter what, you know, her husband,
- 21:17Speaker 3: her ex husband soon you know, is Spanish and he
- 21:21Speaker 3: was always going to call that kind of attention. And
- 21:24Speaker 3: she moved to Miami, and you know, and I feel
- 21:26Speaker 3: like in Miami she'll get less of it, and it's
- 21:28Speaker 3: only like about a matter of time, Like now it's
- 21:30Speaker 3: like the topic.
- 21:31Speaker 4: But you know, hopefully soon they'll get over it after
- 21:33Speaker 4: a little Yeah, they'll have somebody else to talk about, right,
- 21:36Speaker 4: and somebody else to follow.
- 21:37Speaker 1: It's very intrusive, and you know that's a you know,
- 21:42Speaker 1: a lot of people always ask me, don't you want.
- 21:44Speaker 2: To be a housewife? Why aren't you a housewife? And
- 21:47Speaker 2: you know, it's it's a combination of things.
- 21:50Speaker 1: But you know, one of the biggest points.
- 21:52Speaker 4: Is I.
- 21:54Speaker 2: Got married a couple of years ago.
- 21:56Speaker 1: As you obviously know, Alexia and I have a couple
- 21:59Speaker 1: of teens step sons who you know, were a new
- 22:03Speaker 1: little family that's formed, and literally like almost what a
- 22:09Speaker 1: year or six months after I was married, the show
- 22:13Speaker 1: was picked back up and it was, you know, just
- 22:16Speaker 1: too much to throw into this new little unit. And
- 22:20Speaker 1: the boys are also you know, they don't understand any
- 22:23Speaker 1: of that, right, It's very.
- 22:24Speaker 2: Important to show a family on the show.
- 22:27Speaker 1: People need to see that, and that's you know, one
- 22:30Speaker 1: of the big reasons and one of the you know,
- 22:35Speaker 1: it's the biggest reason that.
- 22:36Speaker 4: You have to write.
- 22:37Speaker 3: Everyone feels, you know, about their privacy and it's like, yes,
- 22:41Speaker 3: you know, you signed up for this in my case,
- 22:43Speaker 3: you know, my children are very much involved, and it's
- 22:48Speaker 3: not because I wanted it that way. Like we said
- 22:52Speaker 3: many years ago, these shows were a little different and
- 22:56Speaker 3: we didn't know what was going to happen.
- 22:58Speaker 4: But my children really didn't have a say.
- 23:00Speaker 3: And my children work, you know, under eighteen maybe if
- 23:03Speaker 3: I would have to do it again.
- 23:04Speaker 4: And they're your children, right, these are not my children, right, No.
- 23:07Speaker 3: And I also have step daughters that, by the way,
- 23:09Speaker 3: are in the same situation that your boys are in,
- 23:13Speaker 3: and they don't like it and they don't want to participate.
- 23:16Speaker 3: And I respect that, you know that at such a
- 23:18Speaker 3: young age, you know, they already know that they're not
- 23:21Speaker 3: comfortable with it, and as a parent and as a stepmom,
- 23:23Speaker 3: I need to recognize that and give them their space
- 23:26Speaker 3: and and respect that that they can make their own decisions.
- 23:30Speaker 4: Unfortunately I didn't do that to my kids.
- 23:32Speaker 3: It's kind of like too bad. Yeah, yeah, and then
- 23:35Speaker 3: now like they love them. But you know, with the
- 23:37Speaker 3: good comes to the bad. So yes, there's going to
- 23:39Speaker 3: be a lot of people that love and support and
- 23:41Speaker 3: say nice things, but there's also going to be a
- 23:43Speaker 3: lot of people.
- 23:44Speaker 4: That jump on you exactly and.
- 23:46Speaker 2: That's what it has been, you know, for us.
- 23:49Speaker 1: And it's very hard when you're so young in those
- 23:50Speaker 1: formative years to get all that criticism and attention.
- 23:53Speaker 4: You have to be very of course, yeah, I agree.
- 23:57Speaker 3: And you know, luckily for my kids, I guess and says,
- 24:00Speaker 3: they're at a younger age, they're kind of like, you know,
- 24:03Speaker 3: grown into it and kind of.
- 24:04Speaker 4: Like accepted it.
- 24:05Speaker 3: But you know, it does break them, and you know
- 24:07Speaker 3: it does. And like I said, you have to grow
- 24:08Speaker 3: thick skin and don't even read any of that.
- 24:11Speaker 4: Focus on the good comments.
- 24:13Speaker 3: Focus on you know, your real friends and family that
- 24:16Speaker 3: know you and love you for who you are.
- 24:18Speaker 4: Because this is just a show at the end of
- 24:19Speaker 4: the day.
- 24:20Speaker 3: It's just a show, you know, and you're going to
- 24:21Speaker 3: see what maybe some things you want to see in
- 24:23Speaker 3: some things you don't want to see. But you know,
- 24:25Speaker 3: at the end of the day, you can never lose,
- 24:28Speaker 3: you know, sight of who you really are and of
- 24:31Speaker 3: you know, like of your purpose, of your purpose and
- 24:33Speaker 3: in your real life.
- 24:34Speaker 2: That's true.
- 24:35Speaker 3: But I can tell you get here in Miami and
- 24:40Speaker 3: then in Spain, oh yes, welcome shaki Ita and you
- 24:45Speaker 3: know and bad Bunny and Candle too.
- 24:47Speaker 2: I would love to see them one here one day here.
- 24:50Speaker 3: You know, in the streets of Miami and the restauranti
- 24:53Speaker 3: and gla Ayoto eating Cuban food and Puerto Rican food. Bunny,
- 24:59Speaker 3: I put yes, so yeah, you know, and at the
- 25:02Speaker 3: end of the day, I feel that, you know, and
- 25:06Speaker 3: another armas too.
- 25:07Speaker 2: We want to run into everybody. Yeah, we want them all.
- 25:10Speaker 4: Here in Miami supper with everybody.
- 25:12Speaker 2: Right.
- 25:12Speaker 3: We just love to be talking about them and you know,
- 25:15Speaker 3: and we're so proud that, you know, we have so
- 25:18Speaker 3: many talented people in the world, you know, whether it
- 25:21Speaker 3: may be you know, Colombian or Cuban or Puerto Rican
- 25:24Speaker 3: or Mexican or Doriano. You know, Miami is like a
- 25:30Speaker 3: melting pot and it's so diverse.
- 25:32Speaker 2: And I'm just happy to be at Latina. It's a
- 25:35Speaker 2: good time to be at Latina. Well that's a wrap
- 25:39Speaker 2: and I'm so excited. Hi, I p is it a
- 25:44Speaker 2: wrap already?
- 25:44Speaker 4: I can just sit here and talk to you for hours.
- 25:48Speaker 1: You get in the car and know you're gonna call
- 25:49Speaker 1: me and this is gonna continue.
- 25:51Speaker 2: To talk about the next week.
- 25:52Speaker 4: Like we should have said this, We should have said that.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Yeah, take that, put that down for next week.
- 25:57Speaker 1: I'm so excited we wrapped our first episode of I
- 26:01Speaker 1: Pull Forward.
- 26:03Speaker 3: We hope, we hope you enjoyed it very much, Peta
