- 0:39Hello, this is the eat more carbs podcast.
- 0:41I'm Jenna here with Riley. Today we're going to be playing
- 0:43holiday smasher pass. If you're familiar with Riley's
- 0:46Instagram account, every year she does a bracket for holiday
- 0:49foods where everyone votes on what their top holiday foods
- 0:52are. So instead of doing that, this
- 0:53year we're playing holiday smasher pass for our favorite
- 0:56holiday foods. But before we get into that,
- 0:59update me on your week. What's going on?
- 1:01If you have listened to the More Cars podcast, if you listen to
- 1:04last week's episode, you know that I'm currently in the middle
- 1:07of a move this week. Both my high and my low have to
- 1:10do with my recent weekend trip to Target.
- 1:13First off, Target was insane. I don't know if you've been to
- 1:15Target recently, but I think the entire city of Winston Salem was
- 1:18at Target. It's not related to the story.
- 1:20My high and my low have to do with that recent trip.
- 1:23We went to Target to kind of start like loading up on some of
- 1:26the basics. Right now that we've moved in,
- 1:28we're trying to like declutter, organize, donate a lot of
- 1:31things, but then you also like need a lot of that random stuff
- 1:34that you don't always think about South like bath Matt
- 1:37Charlie started crawling up the stairs.
- 1:39So we have to get a baby gate. We have to get a high chair
- 1:41because we've been like in a temporary high chair because
- 1:43we've been in temporary living. We actually just kind of go and
- 1:46get some of those like not really fun basics.
- 1:48We're standing in line. We have our full cart where
- 1:50usually it's like self checkout people, but because we had a
- 1:53whole cart of stuff, we have to stand in line because the entire
- 1:56city of Winston Salem is at Target.
- 1:58The lines are, are pretty long. We we get up to the front of the
- 2:00line. We're kind of prepared for
- 2:02somebody to be like a little grumpy who's working.
- 2:04The lines are super long. There's so many people there.
- 2:07I'm just prepared for somebody who's like, not super happy.
- 2:10It's like Sunday afternoon. The guy starts checking us out.
- 2:12He's a guy like in his early 20s.
- 2:15He rings up one of our like empty little bath trash cans.
- 2:18Like do you know what I'm talking?
- 2:19About like, yeah. They're like this big.
- 2:20He hasn't really said anything to us.
- 2:23He deadpan looks at Robbie and I and goes, this trash can reminds
- 2:27me of myself. Oh, no, Robbie and I like, look
- 2:29at each other. We're like, we are not mentally
- 2:31prepared for this. Like, is this man OK?
- 2:33Like, again, hasn't said anything.
- 2:35Is this like quiet guy? Like I said, younger 20s hasn't
- 2:38like really engaged with us and our brain.
- 2:40He's like, he's totally over it. And then now we're like dealing
- 2:43with a little bit of a situation.
- 2:44We're like, Oh my gosh. He follows up and goes, yeah, I
- 2:47look like trash on the outside and I'm hollow in the inside.
- 2:50Like, no, but a complete joke. Robbie and I just start burst
- 2:54out laughing and this man has decided that we are his target
- 2:56audience. He starts like slinging jokes
- 2:58after every single product, right?
- 3:00We're not like crying, like laughing like the dry humor,
- 3:04like we were just not prepared for everybody else in line
- 3:06thinks we're crazy people because this man is just telling
- 3:09joke after joke now and like we're just eating it up.
- 3:12I'm crying now even thinking about it because he was just
- 3:14like slinging the jokes at us. That was the high because that
- 3:17was just completely unexpected. Especially like with his first
- 3:20joke, we were like, we're not prepared for this.
- 3:23But it was just like a really nice kind of like highlight
- 3:25because again, we were in a really busy situation.
- 3:28We've been really stressed out because of the house and then
- 3:30this, I don't know, this guy was like super nice and and telling
- 3:32us jokes. So that was my high.
- 3:34My low is a follow up to that. This guy telling us jokes.
- 3:37We're like laughing with him and he looks at the register when
- 3:39we're finished ringing up and goes, Oh my gosh, Oh no.
- 3:43And we're like, this guy is telling us a joke.
- 3:45He goes. This is the most money that I've
- 3:47seen somebody spend when I've worked here.
- 3:49Did you ask him how long he'd worked there?
- 3:51Like maybe he was a holiday employee?
- 3:52So like, it hadn't been a very long time.
- 3:54That would have been my first question.
- 3:56We're like, he started today like he started today like.
- 3:58Today's the first day. Yeah.
- 4:00And we were like, how long have you worked here?
- 4:02He's like July. Oh, not a holiday employee.
- 4:04Not a holiday employee. And I was like, could we just
- 4:07spend like $3000? Like, am I gonna have to put
- 4:09everything back? Like am I gonna literally have
- 4:11to Amazon everything? What did you do?
- 4:13Was it over or under? How much you thought it was
- 4:15going to be? It was $600.
- 4:17Oh, OK. I was anticipating like a like a
- 4:20lot worse. I didn't want to ask how much it
- 4:22was because I thought it was going to be like a four number
- 4:24situation. It's 600.
- 4:26It's. Still a lot.
- 4:27Yeah, but like, there's TV's at Target, there's Xboxes, like
- 4:31gaming systems at Target, people are, you know, shopping for
- 4:34holiday gifts. But then I was like, you need to
- 4:36check myself. I feel like it's.
- 4:38So hard to go into Target and spend under $100.
- 4:41And then you have things that you need for your home and for
- 4:43your baby. So like, I don't feel like
- 4:45shocked by that. Like, I wouldn't have been like,
- 4:47Oh my gosh, you know, I'd have been like, oh, shoot.
- 4:49Like, that's still a lot of money to spend, but it's all
- 4:51things that are necessities for our new home.
- 4:53Right, because we both love a good deal.
- 4:54I was shocked and but I was thinking, I was like, have we
- 4:57been trained by Target that now I can go into Target and spend
- 5:00$600.00 and be like, so I don't know.
- 5:02I just thought that was interesting.
- 5:04Well, I love that this individual had a great sense of
- 5:06humor. I love dry humor that can be so
- 5:09funny. It reminds me of I had.
- 5:12Why am I telling this story? I had a substitute teacher back
- 5:15in high school and she was the driest person on the planet, but
- 5:19she was always the substitute teacher that we were hoping we
- 5:21got. I went to a very small high
- 5:22school, so like the pool of substitute teachers was very
- 5:24small to pull for him. But it was like, oh, she's there
- 5:26that day. And it was like, oh, heck, yes.
- 5:28Like, I'm so excited for this class.
- 5:29Like, she'd be calling off people's names and, like,
- 5:32telling jokes that she's doing it.
- 5:33She'd be like, Jenna, that's a weird name.
- 5:35Why did your parents name you Jenna?
- 5:36Like, stuff like that. Like, she was so funny.
- 5:38So anyway, that kind of reminds me of that.
- 5:40But it can just, like, make a situation that doesn't feel
- 5:42super fun or if you're having a bad day, can really pull you up.
- 5:45So I love that, Yeah. I think it just ties back to
- 5:47what you always say. We're like people joining
- 5:49people. And you know, last week I talked
- 5:50about also like Charlie got a new pediatrician and it just
- 5:53really changed the experience when you can connect with that
- 5:56and or that you're they just really stick out in your mind, I
- 5:59think. This really plays into Milo from
- 6:01the week because Milo is that we went to a Cardinals game here in
- 6:04Arizona and something that I have noticed about Arizona and
- 6:08going to sporting events or just being around Arizona is that no
- 6:11one cheers for the home team and that it's really hard.
- 6:14The Cardinals stadium is a big stadium and over half of the
- 6:17stadium is Seahawks fans. You want to be around like
- 6:20minded people when you're cheering for a sports team.
- 6:22You want to be around the people like, you know, you're all
- 6:24standing and cheering for the same team, but when everyone
- 6:27around you is cheering for the opposing team, that's not the
- 6:29home team, it can feel really hard.
- 6:30And I can't imagine being a player on the field hearing
- 6:33Seahawks chants in what is supposed to be their home
- 6:37stadium. And I've been guilty of this
- 6:38because when the Colorado Avalanche came to play the
- 6:41Coyotes, when the Coyotes were still here, I was cheering for
- 6:44the Avalanche. And most of that arena was
- 6:46cheering for the Avalanche. And now I'm like on the other
- 6:49side of things where I was like, OK, I'm not a Seahawks fan, nor
- 6:51am IA Cardinals fan. So I'm just going to go with the
- 6:52home team. You know, that's what we're
- 6:54going to do because that's where we live.
- 6:56It made me kind of sad. But like most people from
- 6:58Arizona, like aren't really from here.
- 7:00They're like me and have moved here later in life.
- 7:03So it's just kind of an interesting thing to see when
- 7:05you go to a home stadium and it's not a home game.
- 7:08Really interesting. That's how LA was.
- 7:11We would go to a game and the entire stadium would be the
- 7:14other team. And it was very, very shocking
- 7:17in the beginning to us. Yeah, I think it's even like
- 7:20supposedly I haven't been to any professional, well, other than
- 7:22the Galaxy game we went to together in Los Angeles, I
- 7:25haven't been to professional sporting events in Los Angeles,
- 7:28but I've heard it's even worse there because of kind of a
- 7:30similar situation where teams aren't really like from there
- 7:33quite yet. Los Angeles, all the sporting
- 7:35teams are much newer. So it's really interesting when
- 7:37you think about like people join people and all of that kind of
- 7:40connection that there is with even going to something like a
- 7:42sporting game. So that was my low.
- 7:44My high is, though, kind of still playing off of that.
- 7:46My brother was in town, my brother and I really close.
- 7:48We also both really love Thai food, even though most of the
- 7:51time when we have family or friends come to visit, like I'm
- 7:53cooking because I like to cook and I like to host.
- 7:56We decided that we were going to try to find the best Thai food
- 7:58and we went to two new Thai restaurants here and they were
- 8:00both so good. So we had some great food.
- 8:03So that's my high. It's just that we had good food
- 8:05and good company. I love that.
- 8:06And on the topic of Eric, how is he feeling about his half coming
- 8:10up in the next couple of weeks? Oh my gosh, this is so funny
- 8:12that you asked about this being is the fact that we do share our
- 8:15training updates where we were just sharing a little bit about
- 8:17what's going on with our training as we lead into our
- 8:20half marathon. My brother is running the
- 8:21Phoenix half with my husband and I, just more of a party pace.
- 8:24We're having a good time with it.
- 8:25We did train and run together while he was here.
- 8:27We did 7 miles. That's the longest he has run
- 8:30leading into this race. He definitely isn't as much of a
- 8:33runner as I am, but I think he's going to be OK.
- 8:36He's just a little bit nervous about the distance, but I think
- 8:39it'll be all good. What about you?
- 8:40What does training look like for you this week?
- 8:42This is so funny that you kind of mentioned him being a little
- 8:44bit nervous about the distance because the race that I'm
- 8:47training for right now is the Rock'n'roll half in March in DC
- 8:51and I'm running that with my sister and that's going to be
- 8:53more party pace as well. And it was really funny because
- 8:57we emails probably like on a weekly basis.
- 8:59And the last e-mail that we got was like a course outline.
- 9:02My sister sent it to me and goes, this looks really long.
- 9:05It is 13.1 miles. Madison.
- 9:08It's not a short distance. I really love the half
- 9:10difference though, because you are able to, I feel like get
- 9:14faster with the half difference and you're also able to do other
- 9:17things. And that's kind of what I've
- 9:18also been focused on this week is slowly incorporating some
- 9:22more of that strength training with the move.
- 9:24Now I have my home gym back, which I'm really excited.
- 9:26So I'll be continuing to lift about three days a week and then
- 9:29running probably 3 days over the weekday and then I'll do a
- 9:32longer run. But a lot of my shorter runs
- 9:34right now are interval based. So like fart like work 30
- 9:37seconds on, 30 seconds off and doing some of those shorter
- 9:40track workouts as well. Love it.
- 9:42Something that's a little bit different about us today is that
- 9:45we're not not in our typical uniform for recording the
- 9:47podcast. We're really excited for the
- 9:49holidays, but we're both in our Christmas sweaters.
- 9:51So Riley, show off your sweater and tell us the story.
- 9:54Like where did the sweater come from?
- 9:55Where did you get it? So this.
- 9:57Is my Christmas sweater for this year.
- 9:59My sister-in-law, my brother-in-law actually got it
- 10:02for me from like a vintage store in New York in a tacky sweater.
- 10:06But it's also a soccer jersey, so it has a number on the back.
- 10:09It's a Brazilian player. And they actually got it for me
- 10:12because it's black and white and they're like know that I love to
- 10:14wear black clothing. So they slowly got it from me
- 10:17because it's black and white, but it has some snowflakes on it
- 10:19and it's a jersey and it's Christmas themed.
- 10:22So thank you guys for the sweater.
- 10:24What about yours? I see this.
- 10:25I do not know what is on there. I have to.
- 10:28I need you. To OK my Christmas sweater says
- 10:31all I want for Christmas is Steve Harrington.
- 10:33Do you know who Steve Harrington is?
- 10:35I have no idea who Steve Harrington is.
- 10:38So this is quite a story. This Christmas sweater is going
- 10:40on maybe 7 years old I want to say me and my best friend from
- 10:44Oklahoma, Katie, we gifted these to one another.
- 10:47This is when we both worked at Lululemon and we needed funky
- 10:49fun Christmas sweaters to wear to the store for holiday work.
- 10:53And at the time season 2 of Stranger Things came out and in
- 10:56Stranger Things is a character named Steve Harrington.
- 10:58Though that is why I have this Christmas sweater.
- 11:01It was before I met my husband that I got this Christmas
- 11:04sweater and he absolutely hates it.
- 11:06I can't imagine why but I wonder if it's because this is another
- 11:09man's name on it and that's all I want for Christmas.
- 11:11So both me and my best friend have these because we gifted
- 11:13them to one another. I love it.
- 11:15OK today we're playing holiday smasher pass for holiday foods.
- 11:18So kick us off. What are we smashing or passing
- 11:21all? Right.
- 11:21So what I did is I did a very intensive Google search and I
- 11:25looked up the top 10 holiday foods that people like to enjoy
- 11:29for Christmas and just during the holiday period of time.
- 11:32And I thought we could start off with last year's winner of the
- 11:36Carb Challenge. It actually made the list and
- 11:38last year's winner of our carbohydrate challenge that we
- 11:41host on Instagram was cinnamon rolls.
- 11:43Jenna, are we smashing cinnamon rolls or are we passing on the
- 11:46cinnamon rolls? Smash all the way.
- 11:48My mom makes homemade cinnamon rolls for our Christmas morning
- 11:51brunch every year and I look forward to them all year long.
- 11:54They are so good. So, so good.
- 11:57Robbie's mom also makes cinnamon rolls for Christmas morning.
- 12:00We usually do Christmas with my family now and then we'll do
- 12:03like New Year's Eve with his family.
- 12:05But she waits to make the cinnamon rolls until couple days
- 12:08after Christmas. So we can like do the Christmas
- 12:10set up a couple days later with the cinnamon rolls.
- 12:13Christmas cinnamon rolls. There's just something about
- 12:15them. So good sticking to our
- 12:16carbohydrate theme because this is the Eat More Carbs podcast.
- 12:19What about sweet potatoes? Like are we smashing or passing
- 12:22on a sweet potato casserole? Pass.
- 12:25I'm passing too. OK, the reason I say pass is
- 12:28because I'm super picky about sweet potatoes.
- 12:31I don't like a sweet sweet potato situation like the ones
- 12:36with the pecans and marshmallows.
- 12:38And like, that is not for me. That's not my jam.
- 12:40I don't like it. But if it's a savory sweet
- 12:43potato dish, which I feel like is less popular, I'm probably
- 12:46gonna try it. But it's definitely not going to
- 12:47be my favorite thing. Like that's not my carb choice
- 12:49that I'm putting on my holiday plate.
- 12:51Like I'm gonna, I'm gonna pass and I'm going to do something
- 12:53else. What are you putting on your
- 12:54plate then? MMM, Like if there's some type
- 12:56of like Mac and cheese, I want that for sure.
- 12:59And then I probably want some type of like roll to like that's
- 13:02going to be the things that I'm going towards for a holiday
- 13:05meal. I feel like holiday meal tends
- 13:06to be pretty similar to Thanksgiving for most people,
- 13:08like there's like a ham or Turkey or some protein like
- 13:11that. So I feel like I'm pretty safe
- 13:13with saying that those ones will likely be included.
- 13:16Those would probably be mine. What about you?
- 13:17I'm also passing on the sweet potato because I don't love like
- 13:22a sweet and savory combo. If I'm going to eat sweet, like
- 13:25I want it to be like my dessert and I want it to be sweet.
- 13:28And then if I'm going to eat like a savory meal, I want it to
- 13:31be savory. So I'm also going to pass on the
- 13:33sweet potatoes because I'd rather put like stuffing or
- 13:36rolls on my plate instead. Or the Mac and cheese that is
- 13:39such a good shot. I didn't even have that on my
- 13:41list, but I love the good Mac and cheese.
- 13:42So do I there? I love pasta.
- 13:44Like if I I think if you were to ask me if I like had to pick one
- 13:48food for the rest of my life, like what would it be?
- 13:49It'd probably be pasta. Like I would probably just say
- 13:51buttered noodles. You would be so proud.
- 13:53Charlie's favorite food is pasta.
- 13:55Oh heck yeah, girly. That's my girl.
- 13:58I'm just like, I'm such a proud mom.
- 14:00Thank you. Thank you for loving carbs as
- 14:02much as I do with carbohydrates. We have to kind of stay on that
- 14:05theme right now. What about gingerbread?
- 14:07Are you smashing or are you passing gingerbread?
- 14:11Oh, this is kind of tough for me.
- 14:12Oh oh Dang, I think I'm going to smash.
- 14:14OK. What's your reasoning?
- 14:16My parents hate ginger, so I never really had this sounds
- 14:20really bad. That sounds so bad.
- 14:22But they never really had like gingerbread things like growing
- 14:26up in our house. So it's not really like a
- 14:27traditional thing that we have. But my mom always makes
- 14:30gingerbread houses. Like she makes them from
- 14:32scratch. Like she has the mold, she does
- 14:34the whole thing and it makes the house smell so good.
- 14:38I really like that side of it because it's kind of like a
- 14:41nostalgic smell for me, even though we don't really eat a lot
- 14:45of gingerbread in my house. And I would be totally fine with
- 14:48it as long as it's not like in my coffee.
- 14:49Like I don't want a coffee you. Don't want like a gingerbread
- 14:51latte? Yeah, no, I don't want that.
- 14:53No, but like, if it's like a tasteful gingerbread cookie,
- 14:56like, I'm probably gonna have it.
- 14:57I also do not like ginger. Robbie loves ginger and that man
- 15:02like steals my ginger off of my sushi plate as fast as possible.
- 15:05Which is fine because I don't want it, but I think I would
- 15:08smash. Also a gingerbread cookie if
- 15:10it's soft and has icing. Oh.
- 15:12Yeah, well, 100%. The whole reason I'm eating
- 15:14cookies is because of the icing. Like, let's be clear, it's like
- 15:17my favorite cookies are the ones with the most icing.
- 15:19Don't come at me with with a cookie without icing on it.
- 15:22That's not me. It has to also be soft.
- 15:24Like I don't like crunchy cookies of any kind.
- 15:26Right. Like I'm not eating the chunk of
- 15:27I'm not like breaking off a piece of gingerbread from the
- 15:29gingerbread house like I am. It has to be a gingerbread
- 15:32cookie, preferably in gingerbread man form with icing
- 15:35on it. Yes, I'm with you on that 100%.
- 15:38Sticking to our dessert theme, what about eggnog?
- 15:41Are we smashing or are we passing?
- 15:43This one's easy for me, it's pass.
- 15:45Hard pass. What about you?
- 15:46I have never had it, but I don't, I don't think I can do
- 15:50it. Like if I, you know, something
- 15:52happened to me and I had to go tomorrow, I would I would never
- 15:55regret that I had not had an egg bug.
- 15:56From my personal preferences, I would say that you didn't miss
- 16:00out on much because it's not my favorite.
- 16:02To each their own, I know some people really love it, but it's
- 16:04not for me. I should also try it like I'm
- 16:06just being a bad sport. But the fact that you're like
- 16:08drinking eggs, like all I can think about is people putting
- 16:11cracking eggs like an orange juice, like trugging it and
- 16:13that, that's all I can think about.
- 16:14I can't get past it. No, to me it also kind of has
- 16:17like a weird, like a weird flavour that I associate with
- 16:20like bubble gum. I don't know why, but I feel
- 16:23like I'm drinking like that, like pink bubble gum.
- 16:26I don't know if that's just me or if that's like a thing, but
- 16:28like for some reason that's like the flavour and maybe I'm having
- 16:31really crappy eggnog, I don't know.
- 16:32But like after trying it like a time or two, I was like, think
- 16:35I'm good. Like it's not for me, is it?
- 16:37Thick. Is it thick?
- 16:38I feel like yes, yeah. It's gonna be a no for me.
- 16:43No thank you. What about mold wine?
- 16:47Have you ever had mold wine? Are we smashing it or passing?
- 16:49It like spiced like OK smash. What about you?
- 16:53Oh, the video being answered for Riley if you're watching.
- 16:56I do love a wine. I haven't really been drinking a
- 16:59lot over the past couple of years, obviously because we were
- 17:01trying to get pregnant and then I was pregnant and now I just
- 17:04don't like really drinking because I have a child now that
- 17:06I'm responsible for. So I do like a wine.
- 17:09I haven't had it in a long time, but if I was to have a glass of
- 17:12something I like a spiced wine, I would also smash this.
- 17:15You mentioned earlier that Christmas dinner is similar to,
- 17:18you know, maybe it could Thanksgiving dinner.
- 17:20So are you smashing or passing on like a Turkey dinner?
- 17:24Like are you doing a Turkey dinner or would you rather have
- 17:26roast beef or ham? I would rather have something
- 17:28completely different. Like my least favorite thing
- 17:30about Thanksgiving dinner is the Turkey.
- 17:32I just like, it's not my favorite form of protein.
- 17:35I'd much rather have something else.
- 17:36Like I'd probably rather have like a rotisserie chicken on
- 17:38Thanksgiving than Turkey. Like I just don't really.
- 17:41I'm not really into it. And then I also really don't
- 17:44like ham and I think it's because it's super salty a lot
- 17:47of times. I don't know if that's just like
- 17:49I'm a sensitive to salt kind of a situation with my I don't
- 17:52know. I don't know.
- 17:52I'm just weird like that. So I'd prefer if we had like a
- 17:54brisket or something like that or just something like
- 17:57completely different that's not super traditional.
- 17:59So we should. Have done Thanksgiving smash or
- 18:01past and I should have asked you about Turkey.
- 18:03The people would have never believed.
- 18:05It, I know, I know. I don't like it.
- 18:07That's why every year like we always have leftover Turkey.
- 18:11So I'm always trying to come up with some type of of a recipe
- 18:13where I can reuse it because I don't want to go bad.
- 18:15And I know that other people really like Turkey, so I'm not
- 18:17gonna not have it at Thanksgiving.
- 18:19But I need to find a different way to eat it because like just
- 18:21plain Turkey for me. I'm just like, I'm not gonna eat
- 18:24something that I don't enjoy if you are.
- 18:26Listening to the Emer Carbs podcast for the first time and
- 18:29you are not familiar with Jenna's Instagram, you have to
- 18:32go check out some of her recipes on this topic.
- 18:34She made like a really great Turkey Caesar wrap.
- 18:37So you have to make sure that you all go check that out.
- 18:39Going back to some more traditionally holiday foods or
- 18:42specifically Christmas, What about like your Christmas
- 18:45pudding? Are we doing your Christmas
- 18:46pudding? MMM.
- 18:47I don't know that I've ever really had a Christmas pudding,
- 18:50so I'm gonna pass. Pass.
- 18:51I'm also gonna pass. I feel like there's other
- 18:54options, like they're just things that I'd rather eat
- 18:55instead. Isn't it in the Grinch, the Jim
- 18:58Carrey version of the Grinch, where they have like a bunch of
- 19:00Christmas pudding that they make him taste?
- 19:01Yeah, OK. I feel like it's a traditionally
- 19:04British thing. Don't come for me if you're
- 19:06listening to this and I'm completely wrong, but I feel
- 19:08like it's like traditionally British thing.
- 19:10And so that's why I think I had it a lot growing up.
- 19:13Like pudding? Like Christmas pudding?
- 19:14This might be a dumb question, but like how is it different
- 19:17from regular pudding? Is it different from regular
- 19:19pudding? It's not, it's like a a loaf.
- 19:21It's like a cake. It's not like it's not like gel.
- 19:24Pudding. Not like a pudding cup, yeah.
- 19:25OK, y'all like to let us know if you're listening and we're
- 19:28completely wrong, you have to like let us know.
- 19:30But I do think it is like a cake.
- 19:32That is what I've thought about because OK like douse it in like
- 19:35alcohol and then light it on fire.
- 19:37Isn't that flambe when they do that?
- 19:38Is that what that's called? We're not that.
- 19:39Fancy. I don't think so.
- 19:42I don't know. Let us know.
- 19:43If you know, let us know. I've not had that for Christmas.
- 19:46Yeah, let us know if we're missing out.
- 19:48We might be having any more carbs episode where we're just
- 19:50drinking eggnog and eating Christmas pudding because we
- 19:52were completely wrong on our choices.
- 19:54So what about an apple pie? Are we smashing or passing an
- 19:58apple pie? Oh, can I add a caveat to it?
- 20:00Of course. Did you hear my gingerbread?
- 20:02OK, yeah, that's true. OK, It has to be cold.
- 20:05I have to have cold apple pie and then I'm gonna smash.
- 20:08Oh my gosh, are you putting ice cream on your cold apple pie?
- 20:10I would probably put Cool Whip on it and not ready has to be
- 20:13cool Whip. Like I'm not a spray can of
- 20:15ready whip. No, no, no.
- 20:16Like I have to have Cool Whip on it.
- 20:18That and I would be good with that, but it has to be cold
- 20:20apple pie. I prefer apple pie cold.
- 20:23Wow, OK, I am not an apple pie person so I'm going to pass on
- 20:27apple pie. Tried it cold though, yes,
- 20:30because sometimes, I mean, sometimes I'll go in, you know,
- 20:32the fridge and take a scoop out of it, you know, if I need to a
- 20:35bite or something. But I just again, I'd rather eat
- 20:37other things. Like I'm a Big Sugar cookie
- 20:39person, like I'm a cookie person.
- 20:41And this kind of goes back to what we talked about.
- 20:42But like it doesn't have icing. On that's true yeah, but I'm
- 20:45using the cool weapons like low key icing so.
- 20:48I just would rather eat like I need like a thick layer of
- 20:50icing, so I just rather eat something else.
- 20:52So I'm gonna pass. OK, I love that.
- 20:54The last one is candy canes. Are you smashing or passing
- 20:59candy canes? I did this already where I was
- 21:02like not necessarily looking at it from like an eating
- 21:04standpoint because I love like candy cane decorations and I
- 21:08think that candy canes are pretty like I'm going to put
- 21:10them on my gingerbread house when I decorate it.
- 21:12But like from and consuming candy cane standpoint pass.
- 21:16I think I'm also going to pass because I think I love the idea
- 21:19of a candy cane. Like I always want to get them
- 21:21to put on my tree and then I always have like 30 leftover and
- 21:24it's July and I have them sitting at the back of my
- 21:27pantry. And to me, candy cane is like
- 21:29sweet toothpaste that you're supposed to eat.
- 21:31I don't know, maybe it's just like a like a mint thing for me
- 21:34in that sense. I don't know.
- 21:35Which is funny because I love like mint chocolate chip ice
- 21:37cream. That's totally different for me.
- 21:39But like a candy cane, it's just not, it's same thing again.
- 21:41We're kind of going back to like preferences.
- 21:43Would I rather have something else?
- 21:44And it's like 100% like I would rather have something else over
- 21:47a candy cane. Like it's just not my fave.
- 21:49Now, every time I look at candy canes, I'm going to think of
- 21:51toothpaste, and every time I look at eggnog I would think of
- 21:53bubble gum. OK, well I've ruined foods for
- 21:55you today. Just don't come from my soft
- 21:58gingerbread cookies with icing on them like.
- 22:00It's fine. Any cookie with icing on it is
- 22:02like it's playable for me for sure.
- 22:04We hope you enjoyed this episode of the More Carbs Podcast.
