- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
- 0:04Speaker 1: Michael Bumps. Playfac go to roll right, tumpson off from
- 0:07Speaker 1: the right, class to Michael Bumpets who bounce us off
- 0:09Speaker 1: on one tackler gets inside the forty down of the
- 0:12Speaker 1: thirty five yard line. Powered by Seahawks dot Com, Matt
- 0:15Speaker 1: pump fakes looking at the goal line. He throws it
- 0:17Speaker 1: into the end zone. Touchdown Saint Hawks. It's Michael Bumpus
- 0:21Speaker 1: with a diving catching the end zone ten yard touchdown
- 0:25Speaker 1: reception for Bumpus, and the kid out of Washington State
- 0:28Speaker 1: has found himself a place on this team. Now here's
- 0:31Speaker 1: your host, NASA Chubby. Welcome into another edition of Hawk Talk.
- 0:36Speaker 1: This time we're talking playoffs, the wildcard edition, the Seahawks
- 0:40Speaker 1: taking on the San Francisco forty nine ers down to
- 0:43Speaker 1: Levi Stadium in Santa Clara. Yes, this is a preview podcast.
- 0:47Speaker 1: I was very thankful that last week we were not
- 0:49Speaker 1: talking about a recap edition about the season being over.
- 0:53Speaker 1: The season is very much still alive. Even though no
- 0:55Speaker 1: one is given the Seahawks a chance, the Seahawks will
- 0:58Speaker 1: believe in it. So let's waste no more time. What's
- 1:00Speaker 1: on tap? What's on tap? These forty nine ers Bump
- 1:07Speaker 1: thirteen and four NFC West champs, number two seed in
- 1:10Speaker 1: the playoffs, coming off a ten game winning street cottas
- 1:14Speaker 1: team in football, I mean, they started the season three
- 1:17Speaker 1: and four, losing games the teams like Chicago, Denver, Atlanta
- 1:21Speaker 1: all not very good teams, and then they got boat
- 1:23Speaker 1: raced by the Chiefs. Since then, they have not lost
- 1:26Speaker 1: and they've put it on everybody. They haven't given up,
- 1:28Speaker 1: with the exception of that Raiders game thirty four points,
- 1:30Speaker 1: they've given up fourteen, sixteen, ten, zero, seventeen, seven, twenty
- 1:34Speaker 1: and thirteen. So Bump, they're playing good football. Man, what
- 1:38Speaker 1: are your thoughts when you saw this matchup? Gotta play good,
- 1:42Speaker 1: gotta play solid. This is the best team in football
- 1:44Speaker 1: right now. And since they pick up McCaffrey, they are
- 1:47Speaker 1: ten and one. Since he's been starting, they're undefeated. So
- 1:51Speaker 1: a key component to this thing as Christian McCaffrey. They
- 1:54Speaker 1: lose a quarterback, lose two quarterbacks and still able to
- 1:56Speaker 1: go on this run. Just a well balanced team and
- 2:00Speaker 1: it's gonna be a battle. But you know what, I
- 2:01Speaker 1: think they're a four. Let's get it they have to
- 2:03Speaker 1: be up for it. There's no other choices. The second season,
- 2:05Speaker 1: I know Pete Carroll coach team is not gonna come
- 2:07Speaker 1: out and lay an egg in the playoffs. The last
- 2:09Speaker 1: game for the card excuse me for the forty nine ers.
- 2:11Speaker 1: They beat the Cardinals thirty eight thirteen in Week eighteen,
- 2:15Speaker 1: and you know it was it was all forty nine
- 2:17Speaker 1: ers pump. But I don't need to get too much
- 2:19Speaker 1: into this. AJ Green the only good thing to happen
- 2:21Speaker 1: for the Cardinals seventy seven yard touchdown pass from David
- 2:24Speaker 1: Blah And it might be the last time we see
- 2:26Speaker 1: AJ Green. Yeah, it might be. I mean he's been
- 2:29Speaker 1: an OG and this thing for a long time, so
- 2:31Speaker 1: that might be sad to see. The other thing was
- 2:33Speaker 1: JJ Watt played in his last game. He had two sacks,
- 2:37Speaker 1: which was good to see him kind of go out
- 2:38Speaker 1: his legendary career is obviously be first ballot Hall of Famer.
- 2:42Speaker 1: But there's nothing really to say much about that game.
- 2:44Speaker 1: The forty nine Ers put the beat down on the
- 2:46Speaker 1: Cardinals to continue to seem roll the run that they're on,
- 2:48Speaker 1: Like we said, ten game winning streets and they're playing
- 2:50Speaker 1: some really good football now. Bump. I'm not gonna lie
- 2:53Speaker 1: to you, man. The head to head doesn't look great. Nah,
- 2:57Speaker 1: it doesn't look great. But we all know this game
- 2:59Speaker 1: is a played on paper. It's played on grass and turf.
- 3:02Speaker 1: But on paper, We'll look at these two teams and
- 3:05Speaker 1: Niners have the fifth best offense the first rank defense.
- 3:09Speaker 1: You look at the Seahawks, they have the thirteenth ranked
- 3:11Speaker 1: offense and the twenty sixth rank defense. That alone tells
- 3:16Speaker 1: you that it's going to be a tough game. But
- 3:18Speaker 1: the Hawks have played up and down. They play well
- 3:20Speaker 1: against the Kansas City Chiefs. Their second half is awesome defensively,
- 3:24Speaker 1: but they've also led teams who aren't that great kind
- 3:27Speaker 1: of stay around and hang around in the game. So
- 3:29Speaker 1: this game is all about not getting down early and
- 3:32Speaker 1: causing turnovers. Turnover differential. The forty nine ers are plus
- 3:35Speaker 1: thirteam US first in the league, so they don't turn
- 3:37Speaker 1: it over a lot and they take care of the football.
- 3:41Speaker 1: For the Hawks, there are plus two that is tied
- 3:42Speaker 1: for twelfth in the league. So look, there's no secret
- 3:46Speaker 1: who the Niners are at this point. Defensively, they'll get
- 3:49Speaker 1: it done. They got some Pro bowlers Offensively, they got
- 3:51Speaker 1: weapons everywhere, they got a young quarterback and brought purty.
- 3:53Speaker 1: We'll look at these matchups later, but I'm not gonna
- 3:56Speaker 1: spend too much time on paper, man, because I'm looking
- 3:58Speaker 1: at film. I'm looking at match up, and I look
- 4:00Speaker 1: at the film in matchups. When I say look, anybody
- 4:02Speaker 1: can get it, Celeste go yeah, because yeah, if this
- 4:05Speaker 1: game was played on paper, it wouldn't be a close match.
- 4:07Speaker 1: But we know that's not how the second game against
- 4:09Speaker 1: the forty nine Ers went. We know the forty nine
- 4:11Speaker 1: Ers are a really good team, but they're not bulletproof.
- 4:13Speaker 1: They're not perfect. So we will educate you about that
- 4:15Speaker 1: and why the Seahawks do have a chance on Saturday.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Before we get to that, we got to know the history, No,
- 4:22Speaker 1: your history. Seahawks lead the all time series thirty to
- 4:25Speaker 1: nineteen twenty nine and nineteen in the regular season and
- 4:28Speaker 1: one to know in the postseason, hoping to make that
- 4:31Speaker 1: two and oh. We obviously know what that one and
- 4:32Speaker 1: oh was the Nercy Championship game in the Seahawks Super
- 4:35Speaker 1: Bowl season. The Seahawks have won four of the last
- 4:37Speaker 1: six meetings, but lost both games this season, and in
- 4:41Speaker 1: that last matchup Thursday, night football at Looming Field. Seahawks
- 4:44Speaker 1: lost twenty one to thirteen against those forty nine Ers,
- 4:47Speaker 1: and it was a game a big plays. The Seahawks
- 4:49Speaker 1: trailing seven to threes, but still very much in the
- 4:52Speaker 1: ball games. You know, Smith finds Travis Homer and he
- 4:55Speaker 1: gets to almost midfield, he fumbles it. They run it back,
- 4:58Speaker 1: sets up forty nine ers. Ze Christi McAffrey touchdown, Hawks
- 5:01Speaker 1: scoring a halftime trailing fourteen three. Then they started the
- 5:04Speaker 1: second half, Brock Purdy found a wide open George Kittle
- 5:07Speaker 1: for a fifty four yard touchdown that made it twenty
- 5:09Speaker 1: one three, and the Seahawks did what they could. Chip
- 5:12Speaker 1: Claude Scratch got back in the game. No offense scores
- 5:14Speaker 1: a touchdown twenty one thirteen, and the Seahawks needed just
- 5:18Speaker 1: two stops on that final possession to get it back
- 5:20Speaker 1: with a chance to tie the game. Unfortunately, in fifty
- 5:22Speaker 1: four yard run by Jordan Mason sealed the deal for
- 5:25Speaker 1: the forty nine Ers Niners. Out game, the hawksty three
- 5:28Speaker 1: eighty one to two seventy seven. Hawks had a turnover,
- 5:31Speaker 1: lots of time possession and we're only four of thirteen
- 5:33Speaker 1: on third down. That's not a recipe for success. Bump, Nah, No,
- 5:37Speaker 1: it's not. Man. You have to again calls, turnovers, got
- 5:41Speaker 1: to take advantage of opportunities, and you have to hang around.
- 5:44Speaker 1: And it felt like they just couldn't really hang around.
- 5:46Speaker 1: You felt like they were in the game. But you
- 5:47Speaker 1: look at the scoreboard, you look at some of the stats,
- 5:50Speaker 1: and it didn't look that way on paper. But you know,
- 5:53Speaker 1: this is a new season. There's a preseason, there's a
- 5:55Speaker 1: regular season, there's a postseason. That's where we at right now.
- 5:59Speaker 1: Absolutely love it, that's what we need to see. But well,
- 6:01Speaker 1: before we get out of that, we know what's good
- 6:03Speaker 1: in the West because before Nis knocks, the only one represented.
- 6:06Speaker 1: But let's check out what's the word? And the Seahawks
- 6:13Speaker 1: are the NFC West champs? Again, what's the word in
- 6:17Speaker 1: the West? On Hawk Talk? The thing? The Rams and
- 6:22Speaker 1: the Cardinals both live in warm climates because you can
- 6:25Speaker 1: do vacation at home if you want to, because they
- 6:26Speaker 1: are gone, their lockers are empty. The Niners in the
- 6:30Speaker 1: Hawks are the only two teams in this division who
- 6:33Speaker 1: who still got something to play for and they're going
- 6:35Speaker 1: to get at it. Man, we talked about the Cardinals
- 6:37Speaker 1: verse the Niners how that went. We know how the
- 6:40Speaker 1: Rams and the Hawks went last week. But in Arizona
- 6:43Speaker 1: there's some things going down. Man. Head coach Cliff Kingsbury
- 6:46Speaker 1: is gone. Man. Ten months after signing an extension, he
- 6:50Speaker 1: is out of there. Man. They also announced the general manager,
- 6:52Speaker 1: Steve kim am I, saying that Right has decided to
- 6:55Speaker 1: step away from his position in order to focus on
- 6:57Speaker 1: his health. How convene. I hope he's okay, hope he's healthy,
- 7:00Speaker 1: but it's convenent that all this is going down right now.
- 7:03Speaker 1: He signed a contract extension through twenty twenty seven, but
- 7:06Speaker 1: it has been on medical league since December. Kings Bearer
- 7:10Speaker 1: was hired in twenty nineteen, just two mnuchs after he
- 7:12Speaker 1: was fired from Texas Tech. He finished his record with
- 7:15Speaker 1: the Cardinals twenty eight thirty seven and one. He had
- 7:19Speaker 1: a little bit of success, right. There was a run
- 7:22Speaker 1: in twenty nineteen he was from He was five and ten.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Then they go eight and eight. In twenty twenty and
- 7:26Speaker 1: twenty twenty one, which the Cardinals went eleven and six.
- 7:29Speaker 1: They reached the playoffs, but they lost in that first round.
- 7:32Speaker 1: And the think about these Cardinals have been in Kingsbury
- 7:34Speaker 1: in general, they can't finish. He didn't finish when he
- 7:37Speaker 1: was a college coach. As far as wins and losses,
- 7:40Speaker 1: the Cardinals have been able to finish the regular season.
- 7:42Speaker 1: They get into the playoffs, not that really happens. There
- 7:45Speaker 1: is this a debac over there with so much talent.
- 7:47Speaker 1: That's the part that's confused. Man. So it starts with leadership,
- 7:50Speaker 1: and we all felt like this day was coming with Kingsburg. Yeah,
- 7:53Speaker 1: it's crazy, howan you know, they came out kind of
- 7:55Speaker 1: guns blazing in twenty twenty one. They finished eleven and six,
- 7:58Speaker 1: but they're failing down the stretch, and they didn't put
- 8:00Speaker 1: up a fight against the Rams in the place postseason.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Last year they got smacked there. Leading this season, Kylin
- 8:05Speaker 1: Murray gets hurt. But then you have all the stuff
- 8:06Speaker 1: going on the sidelines. You had the clause about video games,
- 8:10Speaker 1: and you have Kyla Murray screaming at Kingsbury. I think
- 8:12Speaker 1: there's no question Cliff Kingsbury is an amazing football mind.
- 8:15Speaker 1: I think he's an amazing offensive coordinator. But it's different
- 8:18Speaker 1: when you're leading a group of men, and no, probably
- 8:21Speaker 1: I mean knowing him, he's gonna land on his feet
- 8:23Speaker 1: for shirts. So there's no worry there, but it'll be
- 8:25Speaker 1: interesting to see where the Cardinals go with this thing. Yeah,
- 8:28Speaker 1: he'll he'll be a coordinator somewhere, no doubt about it.
- 8:30Speaker 1: He'll be a coordinator. It'll be interesting him now and
- 8:33Speaker 1: we'll see what happens with Sean McVeigh. I think he's
- 8:35Speaker 1: gonna be back, but there's a lot of questions around
- 8:37Speaker 1: in two teams in the NFCY West, and the Niners
- 8:40Speaker 1: are where they're at, but they still have quarterback questions
- 8:42Speaker 1: regardless of what happens in this game on Saturday. And
- 8:45Speaker 1: then the Seahawks are trending up a lot of draft picks,
- 8:47Speaker 1: so next year will definitely be fun. But we're not
- 8:50Speaker 1: on next year, Bob, because there's a big game on Saturday.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Let's get an these matchups. Man up this man, this
- 9:04Speaker 1: man up on Hawk Talk. Rock Purty taking on this
- 9:08Speaker 1: Seahawk defense, Mister relevant. Last pick in the NFL draft
- 9:12Speaker 1: played his college ball at Iowa State Cyclum and he's
- 9:15Speaker 1: making some real noise this season. Shout out to my
- 9:18Speaker 1: digital counterpart Matt Habercamp, who went to Iowa State. Big
- 9:21Speaker 1: brought Purty fan, but not on Saturday, obviously. He Seneca
- 9:25Speaker 1: Wallace too, man, Seneca Wallace. You're right, Seneca Man, Seneca
- 9:28Speaker 1: oh Man, love me, Seneca. That nice catching NFC Championship
- 9:31Speaker 1: game at receiver too. Yeah, he did his thing, um,
- 9:33Speaker 1: but yeah, he was a four year starter for the
- 9:35Speaker 1: Cyclone was doing for over twelve thousand yards. He played
- 9:37Speaker 1: a lot of games, thirty eighty one touchdowns, thirty three picks,
- 9:40Speaker 1: also ran for over a thousand yards, nineteen rushing touchdowns,
- 9:43Speaker 1: all big twelve, all that good stuff. But in the league.
- 9:46Speaker 1: He started five games this season and appeared to nine
- 9:49Speaker 1: in those games, one fourteen of one seventy one thousand,
- 9:52Speaker 1: three hundred seventy four yards, thirteen touchdowns in just four picks,
- 9:56Speaker 1: and sacked eleven times. And he's in some historic company.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Third QB to start since the start of nineteen fifty
- 10:02Speaker 1: with multiple pass touchdowns in each of his first five
- 10:05Speaker 1: NFL starts, joining Dan Marino and Billy Bullock, and after
- 10:08Speaker 1: beating the Cardinals, he also joined a very exclusive list
- 10:11Speaker 1: with Kurt Warner and Patrick Mahomes. His one nineteen passer
- 10:15Speaker 1: rating through the first five games of his NFL career
- 10:18Speaker 1: starts that way, it's the second highest in the Super
- 10:20Speaker 1: Bowl era behind Warner at one thirty one and Mahomes
- 10:23Speaker 1: at one sixteen. Since he took over his starter for
- 10:25Speaker 1: the forty nine Ers, their number one in scoring offense,
- 10:27Speaker 1: putting up thirty four points a game. Last time against
- 10:31Speaker 1: the Seahawks were the only time for him. He was
- 10:33Speaker 1: seventeen to twenty six, two hundred and seventeen yards, two touchdowns,
- 10:36Speaker 1: no picks stacked, one time pass rating of one seventeen. Now,
- 10:40Speaker 1: bub when I look at this offense, obviously they've taken
- 10:43Speaker 1: off and I'm not This is no disrespect to party
- 10:45Speaker 1: because I think he's killing the game. But when you
- 10:47Speaker 1: watched the film and he watched the game against the
- 10:49Speaker 1: Seahawks that first time, he did exactly what he was
- 10:52Speaker 1: supposed to do. But Kyle Shanahan, I mean, you take
- 10:55Speaker 1: away those two throws a kiddle, you can't do that.
- 10:57Speaker 1: But he schemed him open that first play, the fakes screen,
- 11:00Speaker 1: fake screen down the middle, boom, and then the Seahawks
- 11:03Speaker 1: blow coverage on the second one. So like, I don't
- 11:05Speaker 1: know how much he I just haven't seen him go
- 11:07Speaker 1: out there and win a game, you know what I'm saying.
- 11:09Speaker 1: Where the pressure is on? What have you seen from him. Yeah,
- 11:11Speaker 1: I've seen the same thing. I've seen Shannahan put him
- 11:13Speaker 1: in position to be successful. You got George Kittle. You
- 11:15Speaker 1: talk about the scheme, there's anyone who's gonna scheme up
- 11:19Speaker 1: a defense and make sure they're on their their their
- 11:22Speaker 1: hills is Kyle Shanahan. And he's shown that it doesn't
- 11:25Speaker 1: really matter who's at quarterback. We didn't get see a
- 11:27Speaker 1: lot of trade lands, but with Jimmy at quarterback, with
- 11:30Speaker 1: Party at quarterback, he's shown that his scheme works. You
- 11:34Speaker 1: just need a guy who knows what he's doing, is
- 11:35Speaker 1: gonna get the ball out on time, and Deebo Samuel
- 11:38Speaker 1: is healthy. Now. I'm sure we'll talk about to a
- 11:40Speaker 1: bit later, but I've just seen a guy who's doing
- 11:42Speaker 1: what he's told to do and he will push the
- 11:43Speaker 1: ball down the field a little bit more than Jimmy Garoppolo,
- 11:47Speaker 1: but a good football player. I think eventually, whether it's
- 11:50Speaker 1: with this team next year or somewhere else, he'll be
- 11:53Speaker 1: a starter in this league. He's definitely shown he can
- 11:55Speaker 1: do it. I mean, going from mister irrelevant has such
- 11:58Speaker 1: a negative connotation. He still got drafted, but he clearly
- 12:00Speaker 1: showed he can do it, and he's played in some
- 12:01Speaker 1: big games, not in the playoffs before, so we'll see
- 12:04Speaker 1: what happens there. And then bump our guy Gino Smith
- 12:07Speaker 1: taking on the forty nine ers defenseman. Talk about his
- 12:10Speaker 1: season he had this year. Gino has had one of
- 12:12Speaker 1: the best seasons in franchise history at that quarterback position.
- 12:18Speaker 1: He set a franchise record in attempts five hundred and
- 12:20Speaker 1: seventy two. He set a record with the yards for
- 12:24Speaker 1: the season four two hundred eighty two pass enough Russell Wilson.
- 12:27Speaker 1: He now joined the thirty touchdown club, him, Russell and
- 12:31Speaker 1: Dave Craiger in this thing. And then he led the
- 12:33Speaker 1: NFL and completion percentage at sixty nine percent that was
- 12:37Speaker 1: also a franchise record as well, almost got to seventy
- 12:40Speaker 1: which it hasn't been done here only thirteen times throughout
- 12:43Speaker 1: the NFL. Passer rating one hundred point nine, that's fifth
- 12:46Speaker 1: in the league. QBR sixty one point one, that's six
- 12:49Speaker 1: in the league. Talk about his passing yards, he's eighth,
- 12:51Speaker 1: and for touchdowns he threw thirty, he is fourth in
- 12:54Speaker 1: the league. Week two against the San Francisco forty nine
- 12:58Speaker 1: Ers didn't have a great day, it was twenty thirty.
- 13:00Speaker 1: I guess completion wise, he was all right one hundred
- 13:02Speaker 1: ninety seven yards, zero touchdowns, one interception, had a pass
- 13:05Speaker 1: rating of eighty point two. Second time around, he threw
- 13:08Speaker 1: the ball forty four times. I think you gotta stay
- 13:10Speaker 1: away from forty. When it comes to pass attempts, you
- 13:12Speaker 1: gotta run that ball a bit more. He was thirty
- 13:14Speaker 1: one to forty four, two thirty eight, one touchdowns, zero interceptions.
- 13:18Speaker 1: It was sacked three times. His pass rating there was
- 13:20Speaker 1: ninety point nine. Now he had his worst pass rating
- 13:24Speaker 1: of the season against a RAM, sixty five point seven.
- 13:28Speaker 1: He went nine of his first twelve games would have
- 13:31Speaker 1: passed rating over one hundred. So we've seen something as
- 13:33Speaker 1: of late that we're not used to. But that's the NFL.
- 13:36Speaker 1: You're gonna playgainst good teams. You're gonna have bad games,
- 13:38Speaker 1: you're gonna have good games. For the most part, Gino
- 13:40Speaker 1: has been good to go. He's facing the best defense
- 13:43Speaker 1: in the league this week. The nine is only allowing
- 13:46Speaker 1: threety yards per game and number one scoring defense only
- 13:48Speaker 1: allowing sixteen points per game, and their twentieth against the pass,
- 13:51Speaker 1: allowing two hundred and twenty two yards per game. If
- 13:53Speaker 1: Gino can hover around two fifty two eighty two touchdowns
- 13:57Speaker 1: and be able to run the football, I think we
- 14:00Speaker 1: have a chance. But we got to see the Gino
- 14:01Speaker 1: that we saw for the majority of the season, not lately. Yeah,
- 14:05Speaker 1: and we know the Niners are having a really good
- 14:07Speaker 1: run defense as well, But the Seahawks need to find
- 14:09Speaker 1: a way to be when I say balanced, not they
- 14:11Speaker 1: don't have to be twenty five and twenty five. But
- 14:13Speaker 1: Gino can't throw the ball forty four times, right, that
- 14:15Speaker 1: means they're coming from behind, and that means you have
- 14:17Speaker 1: you know, Nick Boso, which we're gonna talk about, and
- 14:19Speaker 1: guys like that who get to just rush the passer
- 14:21Speaker 1: and you don't want that. So hopefully Gino his attempts
- 14:24Speaker 1: are more closer to twenty five thirty. Now we want
- 14:27Speaker 1: to talk about weapons man Christian McCaffrey against the Seahawks
- 14:31Speaker 1: front seven. And this trade is really paid off. You
- 14:33Speaker 1: know when we were live on Hawks Live when that happened,
- 14:36Speaker 1: and it was a hall man, it wasn't just lightly.
- 14:38Speaker 1: They sent a twenty twenty three second, third, and fourth
- 14:43Speaker 1: round pick as well as a twenty twenty fourth fifth
- 14:45Speaker 1: round pick to get McCaffrey, and McCaffrey coming to this
- 14:49Speaker 1: was not a guy that stayed healthy for the last
- 14:50Speaker 1: couple of years. He only played in ten games in
- 14:52Speaker 1: twenty twenty and twenty twenty one. However, he's been healthy
- 14:55Speaker 1: in all seventeen this year and he's been balling out. Man.
- 14:57Speaker 1: That trade seems worth it at the moment. He has
- 15:00Speaker 1: two hundred forty four carries for one thy, one hundred
- 15:02Speaker 1: and thirty nine yards, eight touchdowns, and I mean then
- 15:07Speaker 1: he's receiving threat eighty five reception seven hundred forty one
- 15:10Speaker 1: yards and five touchdowns. So he's been balling out since
- 15:13Speaker 1: he got there. He's in balling out. He's a major problem.
- 15:15Speaker 1: That first matchup, twenty six carries, one hundred and eight yards,
- 15:18Speaker 1: one touchdown, six receptions for thirty yards niners or eighth
- 15:22Speaker 1: in the NFL, and rushing at one hundred and thirty
- 15:23Speaker 1: yards per game. And mother, the thing I stood out
- 15:25Speaker 1: to me watching the game tape and just being at
- 15:27Speaker 1: the stadium when that first matchup, McCaffrey never went down
- 15:31Speaker 1: on first contact and he never had a negative play
- 15:34Speaker 1: and they just gave that man the ball. And it's
- 15:36Speaker 1: gonna be monsoon weather. So McCaffrey, I'm gonna he's gonna
- 15:39Speaker 1: have minimum twenty five carries. I know Elijah Mitchell's back
- 15:41Speaker 1: as well, but he I mean, the Seahawks need to
- 15:44Speaker 1: stop him, definitely. You know, the last couple of weeks,
- 15:47Speaker 1: they've been pretty good, holding the Chiefs seventy seven yards,
- 15:50Speaker 1: the Jets seventy five slight set back last week, given
- 15:53Speaker 1: up one hundred and forty six to the Rams in
- 15:54Speaker 1: one hundred forty cam Akers, you're thirtieth in the league overall,
- 15:58Speaker 1: and stop comes to stopping run. But Christian McCaffrey's a
- 16:01Speaker 1: bad dude, and he's a guy that they need to contain.
- 16:03Speaker 1: I mean, he's gonna if he's round one hundred, that's okay,
- 16:05Speaker 1: but he can't. He cannot go off. I want his
- 16:08Speaker 1: yards per carry to be round four. Yeah. My man
- 16:11Speaker 1: had over thirty touches last time he played the Hawks,
- 16:14Speaker 1: So you know they're gonna give him the rock. What
- 16:16Speaker 1: can you do with it? Now? The matchup Deebo Samuel
- 16:19Speaker 1: and Brandon Aiyu versus Ark Willen and Mike Jackson. Niners
- 16:26Speaker 1: have weapons everywhere. We're talking about running backs, receivers, tight ends.
- 16:31Speaker 1: They got them all, and these two guys are one
- 16:33Speaker 1: of the two of the best receivers in the league.
- 16:36Speaker 1: So he gotta watch out for these guys. Brandon, he
- 16:38Speaker 1: had a career year in twenty twenty two. He had
- 16:41Speaker 1: a career high in receptions, targets, yards, and touchdowns seventy
- 16:44Speaker 1: eight receptions for a thousand and fifteen yards and eight touchdowns.
- 16:48Speaker 1: He's been quiet the last two games against the Seahawks,
- 16:50Speaker 1: but you know, can't sleep on him. Week two, he
- 16:52Speaker 1: had five receptions for sixty three. Week fifteen, he had
- 16:55Speaker 1: two receptions for nineteen. On the other side, you got Debo,
- 17:01Speaker 1: my man, it's back. He had a quiet week last week.
- 17:04Speaker 1: I think he only had like one reception for three
- 17:05Speaker 1: yards or something like that, which you know they're just
- 17:07Speaker 1: easing them, easing them into this thing. In twenty twenty two,
- 17:10Speaker 1: fifty six reception six thirty two yards, two touchdowns, and
- 17:13Speaker 1: forty two carries for two thirty two and three touchdowns.
- 17:17Speaker 1: This guy, Debo does it all. He's only playing thirteen
- 17:21Speaker 1: games this season him as four because of knee and
- 17:23Speaker 1: ankle injuries. I saw him on the sidelines or course
- 17:25Speaker 1: side of the Golden State Warriors game the other day,
- 17:28Speaker 1: so you know he's feeling good. He's getting ready to go. Man.
- 17:31Speaker 1: In the first matchup against the Seahawks, Debo had five
- 17:35Speaker 1: for forty four, four carries for fifty three and that
- 17:37Speaker 1: included a fifty one yard run. Defensively, Trek Willing and
- 17:42Speaker 1: Mike Jackson's Jackson have had really good seasons. Willing is
- 17:45Speaker 1: tied for the lead in interception in the NFL and
- 17:49Speaker 1: fourth and passes defended with sixteen. He's got what six interceptions.
- 17:52Speaker 1: Mike Jackson had his first career interception this year. He
- 17:56Speaker 1: has twelve passes defended and that is eighteenth in the NFL.
- 17:59Speaker 1: So both these guys can play. They're gonna need to play,
- 18:02Speaker 1: and if they can lock down on the outside and
- 18:05Speaker 1: make the Niners become predictable, then I like our chances. Yeah,
- 18:10Speaker 1: both of them linked up in week two when Tarik
- 18:13Speaker 1: blocked the kick and then Mike jack ran it all
- 18:15Speaker 1: the way back. So I'd love to channel some of
- 18:16Speaker 1: that energy because yeah, everyone defense is gonna have their
- 18:19Speaker 1: hands full of these forty nine ers. And then another
- 18:21Speaker 1: guy who talk about weapons and wants to go to
- 18:22Speaker 1: the defensive side, Nick Bosa, versus r body, her body,
- 18:26Speaker 1: every I mean, it is what it is. Bosa has
- 18:29Speaker 1: been a problem this year and it's probably gonna runaway
- 18:31Speaker 1: with Defensive Player of the Year. I think Michael Parsons
- 18:33Speaker 1: has a run at it. But when we look at
- 18:35Speaker 1: these numbers for Nick Bosa and how the forty nine
- 18:38Speaker 1: has been playing fifty one tackles on the season, forty
- 18:41Speaker 1: one solo, that's a lot from his position, eighteen and
- 18:44Speaker 1: a half sacks, nineteen TFLs, two forced fumbles, and fifty
- 18:49Speaker 1: six QB pressures, I think it's actually more than that.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Because I look at the different staff from next Gen stats,
- 18:53Speaker 1: I believe that numbers actually seventy three bucks. His eighteen
- 18:56Speaker 1: and a half sacks lead the NFL. His nineteen TFLs
- 18:59Speaker 1: or second the end fell against Seattle. He's still been
- 19:01Speaker 1: a problem. Four tackles, two sacks, five QB hits in
- 19:04Speaker 1: Week two. Week fifteen two sacks or two tackles, one sack,
- 19:08Speaker 1: one TfL, three QB hits. He also sacked Gino and
- 19:11Speaker 1: forced a pick six. But the oxtet lucky was rough
- 19:14Speaker 1: in the past for call because Bosa landed with all
- 19:15Speaker 1: his weight on Gino was a good call, but it
- 19:17Speaker 1: was it didn't. It wasn't that Bosa was stopped. So
- 19:22Speaker 1: he's a dude that'll wrect the game for it if
- 19:24Speaker 1: you let him do it. Samson Ebukam is a second
- 19:27Speaker 1: on the team in sacks with just five. So it's
- 19:30Speaker 1: coming from Bosa, That's what it is. It's coming from
- 19:31Speaker 1: Nick Bosa. He's coming off a crazy year where he
- 19:34Speaker 1: had similar numbers last year, but he just upped some
- 19:36Speaker 1: of that stuff. So it's it's HiT's a problem, Abe Lucas.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Charles Cross, they've seen him twice now, and I look, bump.
- 19:44Speaker 1: I looked real quick. I looked at his three sacks
- 19:46Speaker 1: against us. The first one was it everyone kind of
- 19:51Speaker 1: protection went left and then Bosa was one on one
- 19:54Speaker 1: with shot Penny and it was a play. I mean,
- 19:56Speaker 1: that's yeah. You can't ask the running back to block him.
- 19:58Speaker 1: He gets sacked. The second one they ran, they ran
- 20:02Speaker 1: a te stunt on both sides, so he loops in
- 20:06Speaker 1: and then they got pressure from the let Geno's right side.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Gino steps up and then boats to sacks him. And
- 20:12Speaker 1: then the third time, he just beat Charles Cross. He
- 20:14Speaker 1: just lopped his hands down and he got there so
- 20:16Speaker 1: he's a problem. Gonna need to know where ninety seven
- 20:18Speaker 1: has lined up in every single player Defensive Player of
- 20:20Speaker 1: the year, you're playing against him. I think Nick Bosa
- 20:23Speaker 1: will get Defensive Player of the Year. If he doesn't,
- 20:25Speaker 1: he'll be second in vote. So yeah, isn't a messed
- 20:28Speaker 1: up man? Hawks had a goal against Nick Bosa? And
- 20:30Speaker 1: then you see Aaron Donald twice a year or two, like,
- 20:33Speaker 1: you get no breaks when it comes to that. Defend
- 20:36Speaker 1: those defensive linemen in this league. Let's talk about ken
- 20:39Speaker 1: Walker had himself a great season, had over a thousand yards.
- 20:42Speaker 1: He joined court Warner as a second rookie in franchise history,
- 20:46Speaker 1: should rush for over a thousand yards. Last three games
- 20:49Speaker 1: he's gone for over a hundred as well. Over all
- 20:51Speaker 1: this year a thousand and fifty yards nine touchdowns. His
- 20:53Speaker 1: nine touchdowns lead all Rocky players. Ken Walker's second in
- 20:58Speaker 1: NFL and runs of twenty yards or more with ten,
- 21:01Speaker 1: he trails just Nick Chubby has thirteen. That's a good
- 21:04Speaker 1: company right there, and Nick Chubb is a baller. Walker
- 21:07Speaker 1: did this with only eleven starts in fifteen games played,
- 21:09Speaker 1: so imagine if he had all those starts. Now, the
- 21:12Speaker 1: reason why he had eleven were shot Penny was balling
- 21:14Speaker 1: at the time. Yeah, you wanted to ease this young
- 21:17Speaker 1: man into this position, but he was thrown in there
- 21:19Speaker 1: because with shot, Penny goes down and he did his thing.
- 21:21Speaker 1: So the last two games against the Niners, he's got
- 21:24Speaker 1: four carries for ten yards. He's got twelve carries for
- 21:27Speaker 1: forty seven yards and then a couple of receptions or
- 21:30Speaker 1: more each of those games. We need him. He needs
- 21:33Speaker 1: to have a big game, man. Now the Niners are
- 21:36Speaker 1: only allowing seventy seven yards per games. Who was going
- 21:39Speaker 1: to be tough, but the Hawks are averaging one hundred
- 21:41Speaker 1: twenty yards per game on the ground when it comes
- 21:43Speaker 1: to running. So look, man, this is this is gonna
- 21:46Speaker 1: be a key factor here. Can they run the football
- 21:49Speaker 1: loosing this defense up and allow Geno to work. It's
- 21:52Speaker 1: gonna be important, man. I mean it's gonna be hard.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Number two deep run defense in the league. It doesn't
- 21:56Speaker 1: mean it can't be done. It's gonna be in monsoon.
- 21:58Speaker 1: I'll bring it up again. The San Francisco for nine
- 22:01Speaker 1: ers played in him on soon in Week one against
- 22:02Speaker 1: Chicago and they took in l The rain was going
- 22:05Speaker 1: sideways footing was bad. I'm hoping to see some of
- 22:08Speaker 1: that on Saturday, and it's gonna be a dogfight, so
- 22:10Speaker 1: they're gonna need to bring it up front with ken
- 22:12Speaker 1: Walker there and then another matchup will just continue to
- 22:15Speaker 1: hit all the weapons these guys happen. George Kittle. Kittle
- 22:18Speaker 1: is one of the best tight ends in the NFL.
- 22:19Speaker 1: I've been saying this for years. He can block, he
- 22:21Speaker 1: can catch, run after the catch, he can do it all.
- 22:24Speaker 1: He missed the Week two matchup, but he man. He
- 22:26Speaker 1: made the Seahawks pay in Week fifteen. He had four
- 22:28Speaker 1: saptions for ninety three yards two touchdowns. One of them
- 22:31Speaker 1: came on a blown coverage by Drake wool and he
- 22:34Speaker 1: came out Saturday. It was cover three, just wasn't deep
- 22:37Speaker 1: and we saw it happening. Let me count one time
- 22:40Speaker 1: this year, so Terek's gonna be ready, no doubt about that.
- 22:43Speaker 1: And then the other one we talked about a little
- 22:44Speaker 1: earlier too, was Sanhan just schemed him up. That is
- 22:47Speaker 1: a play I'd never seen before, and the second they ran,
- 22:49Speaker 1: I'm like, Oh, I can't even be mad at that
- 22:52Speaker 1: screen left screen right, Oh, okay, and your keys are
- 22:55Speaker 1: all jacked up and then you have Kittle who blocked
- 22:57Speaker 1: at first and then released. I mean, that's just a
- 22:59Speaker 1: great design. So he schemed him up and Kittle, you know,
- 23:03Speaker 1: he's having a good year. Sixty reception, seven hundred sixty
- 23:06Speaker 1: five yards, eleven touchdowns. His eleven touchdowns were third in
- 23:08Speaker 1: the NFL. He has seven touchdowns in his last four games,
- 23:12Speaker 1: so he's been heating up. He's a matchup nightmare, and
- 23:14Speaker 1: against the Hawks in his ten games, forty five reception,
- 23:17Speaker 1: six hundred and fifty five yards, four touchdowns, but he's
- 23:20Speaker 1: three and seven in those games. Okay, that out there, okay,
- 23:23Speaker 1: I mean, m everywhere you look, you can't. You can't
- 23:26Speaker 1: relax and play. No one on any level could look
- 23:28Speaker 1: because you look around there's ballers everywhere from San Franz.
- 23:31Speaker 1: So it's gonna be a tough matchup either way. But
- 23:33Speaker 1: I think Pete Carroll and that defensive staff have something
- 23:36Speaker 1: for these guys. They know them as well as anyone
- 23:39Speaker 1: can know them, so they're gonna need to bring it
- 23:41Speaker 1: for sure. Yeah, they gotta bring it. Man, ten games,
- 23:43Speaker 1: he's got forty five, six fifty five and four touchdowns.
- 23:46Speaker 1: That's a season for a pro Bowl tight end. He
- 23:49Speaker 1: does that in ten games, so we need to lock
- 23:52Speaker 1: him down. I let's show our guys some love. Man,
- 23:55Speaker 1: we're talking about the Niners. How about DK and Tyler Lockett.
- 23:59Speaker 1: They both goal for over a thousand yards. DC has
- 24:03Speaker 1: ninety receptions for one thousand and forty eight and six touchdowns.
- 24:06Speaker 1: Tyler Lockett goes eighty four receptions for one thousand and
- 24:09Speaker 1: thirty three and nine touchdowns. It just doesn't work without
- 24:12Speaker 1: these dudes. Man. Lockett is a second player in franchise
- 24:15Speaker 1: history to have four one thousand yards seasons, joining who
- 24:18Speaker 1: Steve Largen who else? Lockett also moved into third place
- 24:21Speaker 1: on Seattle's all time receptions list with five hundred and
- 24:24Speaker 1: thirty three man and receiving yards list with seven thousand,
- 24:29Speaker 1: one hundred moved him to second place, and his receiving
- 24:32Speaker 1: touchdowns with fifty four. This guy as a baller. DK
- 24:36Speaker 1: is having a great season. Like I mentioned, he moved.
- 24:38Speaker 1: He became the fifth player in the NFL history with
- 24:40Speaker 1: at least three hundred receptions, four thousand receiving yards, and
- 24:44Speaker 1: thirty five receiving touchdowns in the first four seasons. He
- 24:47Speaker 1: joins Odell Beckham, AJ Greene, Randy Moss, Andre Rising. He
- 24:52Speaker 1: also set a single season career high with ninety receptions,
- 24:55Speaker 1: his third most of frenchives history, posted his second one
- 24:57Speaker 1: thousand yards season and moved into fifth place the most
- 25:00Speaker 1: receiving yards in the players first fourth season in franchise
- 25:03Speaker 1: history of four thousand and two hundred and eighteen DK.
- 25:08Speaker 1: He's he's seen these guys twice, just like our guy
- 25:10Speaker 1: Tyler Lockett. First time he saw the Niners, he had
- 25:12Speaker 1: four for thirty five, not great. Second time seven for
- 25:15Speaker 1: fifty five. Lockett, on the other hand, had nine for
- 25:18Speaker 1: one on seven the first time around, and then he
- 25:20Speaker 1: had seven for sixty eight a second time around. If
- 25:24Speaker 1: there's a hole in this defense for the Niners, it's
- 25:27Speaker 1: defending the past or twentieth in the league along in
- 25:29Speaker 1: two hundred and twenty two yards per game through the air.
- 25:33Speaker 1: They've allowed some big performance as AJ Greene had himself
- 25:36Speaker 1: a day ninety one yards in a Tuddy Dante Adams
- 25:39Speaker 1: who went off seven for one fifty three and two touchdowns,
- 25:42Speaker 1: Tyreek Hill nine for one and forty six d Hop
- 25:45Speaker 1: nine for ninety one, Cooper Cup. He does this everybody.
- 25:48Speaker 1: I don't even want to like put this on the list,
- 25:50Speaker 1: like Cooper Cup gets it done. He had a for
- 25:53Speaker 1: seventy nine in a touchdown and he had fourteen for
- 25:56Speaker 1: one twenty two earlier in the season meeting Juju Smith
- 25:59Speaker 1: Shoes had seven for one twenty four. I mean, the
- 26:02Speaker 1: list goes on and on and on, and then we'll
- 26:03Speaker 1: finish with Tyler Lockett had nine for one to seven.
- 26:05Speaker 1: So we just rattle all of these stats off to say,
- 26:08Speaker 1: if there's a weakness, it's through the air. But ken
- 26:13Speaker 1: Walker needs to get go to work, so it looses
- 26:16Speaker 1: up through the air and we just gotta be balanced.
- 26:18Speaker 1: You said earlier, not fifty fifty. But they gotta have
- 26:21Speaker 1: to have to defend everything. Yeah, absolutely no. And that's
- 26:24Speaker 1: the thing. If ken Walker's not running the ball, then
- 26:26Speaker 1: those guys are They can blanket, they can say over top.
- 26:28Speaker 1: And Pete said, I think earlier this week at some
- 26:30Speaker 1: point talking about what they do. They don't do a
- 26:33Speaker 1: lot of special stuff. They're similar to those really good
- 26:35Speaker 1: Seahawks defenses. They're gonna show you what they're doing, but
- 26:37Speaker 1: they do it. They cover through their pass rush. Right,
- 26:41Speaker 1: it's easy. It's easy to cover if you only gonna
- 26:43Speaker 1: cover for one and a half seconds. Man. So we'll
- 26:45Speaker 1: tell you, guys how the Seahawks can get it done.
- 26:47Speaker 1: We got through all the matchups. We know they got
- 26:48Speaker 1: balls where We're gonna tell you exactly how the Seahawks
- 26:51Speaker 1: are gonna win this game. Path to victory. At the
- 26:55Speaker 1: forty five waits for the snack, Michael Vickson puts it down.
- 26:59Speaker 1: Got kickers are If that kick in gone, it's gone.
- 27:04Speaker 1: It's a pass to victory. On Hawk Talk, start fast,
- 27:09Speaker 1: And I've been saying this anyone who will listen. I
- 27:11Speaker 1: think this is how the Seatts get it done. They
- 27:12Speaker 1: just cannot get down two scores early on. And the
- 27:15Speaker 1: first matchup the Hawks got down twenty nine thing at
- 27:17Speaker 1: the half. In the second game they're down fourteen to three,
- 27:20Speaker 1: and then quickly got down twenty one to three. And
- 27:22Speaker 1: this event is too strong to spot them fourteen points.
- 27:24Speaker 1: I think if the Seatts can avoid that and they
- 27:26Speaker 1: can just hold serve, take that first punch from the
- 27:29Speaker 1: Niners and maybe put a cup together, a drive or
- 27:31Speaker 1: two at least a change the field position battle, they'll
- 27:34Speaker 1: be in this game. But you gotta start fast, mister
- 27:37Speaker 1: Christian McCaffrey. Gotta stop the run easier set than then
- 27:41Speaker 1: we know this guy is special man. Chris McCaffrey had
- 27:44Speaker 1: over a hundred yards rushing last game in The forty
- 27:47Speaker 1: nine Ers are a lot to handle. If they are
- 27:50Speaker 1: two dimensional, make them one dimensional? Which would you rather
- 27:54Speaker 1: have them have a good game on the ground or
- 27:56Speaker 1: a good game through the air? Oh, if we're making
- 28:00Speaker 1: him him, goodness gracious, I guess I'd rather have him
- 28:05Speaker 1: have a good game through the air. Yeah, maybe, I
- 28:08Speaker 1: don't know. I mean, if if they're doing that, that
- 28:09Speaker 1: means we shut down the run, and then if it
- 28:11Speaker 1: comes down to a coin toss, I'd rather than having
- 28:14Speaker 1: to continue to challenge Tariq over and over again. Yeah,
- 28:19Speaker 1: Diggs is back in his bag too, So yeah, probably
- 28:21Speaker 1: through the air because there's more room for air when
- 28:23Speaker 1: they do that. And speaking about through the air, you
- 28:25Speaker 1: gotta sold down George kittle Man, he is bawling. You
- 28:28Speaker 1: mentioned what seven touchdowns his last four games. I think
- 28:31Speaker 1: Perdy has figured out that he has a pro bowler
- 28:33Speaker 1: over there. The forty nine Ers also clinched the game
- 28:36Speaker 1: on a fifty yard run on third down, so it's
- 28:40Speaker 1: a it's exposed to plays with George kittle like he's
- 28:44Speaker 1: he's not he's not good for the two or three
- 28:45Speaker 1: yard game. He's he's gonna get it and he's gonna
- 28:47Speaker 1: try to get some money. So yeah, man, George Kittle,
- 28:50Speaker 1: stop that guy too. Yep, stop all that yak. And
- 28:52Speaker 1: then we gotta we gotta keep number seven Geno Smith.
- 28:55Speaker 1: We gotta keep him up right, man, Nick Bosa cannot
- 28:57Speaker 1: ruin this game. He's put his fingerprints all over both games.
- 29:00Speaker 1: Each times he's gonna get a sack, probably, he's gonna
- 29:03Speaker 1: get some pressures, he's gonna get a couple of hits,
- 29:04Speaker 1: but he cannot be a game wrecker. Charles Cross. Ab
- 29:07Speaker 1: Lucas needs to have their best game of the season,
- 29:09Speaker 1: and I think they will. They've seen it in in a
- 29:11Speaker 1: couple of times. They're no longer rookies. I heard why
- 29:13Speaker 1: I'm saying a million times today it's a second season,
- 29:15Speaker 1: and it really is. They've seen it. They've seen them twice,
- 29:17Speaker 1: so I know they're gonna be jacked up, ready to go.
- 29:20Speaker 1: And then you mentioned earlier run the dangball. Ken Walker
- 29:23Speaker 1: needs to ride the momentum in this game. I want
- 29:25Speaker 1: to get into twenty carries and that means they're sticking
- 29:27Speaker 1: with it, and if they're able to get to twenty carries,
- 29:30Speaker 1: that means they've stayed in the game. Yep. Because if
- 29:33Speaker 1: he has six or seven right or nine, that means
- 29:35Speaker 1: we're throwing that thing forty five times and we're probably
- 29:37Speaker 1: trying to come back from the league. So try to
- 29:39Speaker 1: run that football. I want to sprinkle a little DJ
- 29:41Speaker 1: Dallas in there too, Yeah, a little DJ. I think
- 29:43Speaker 1: he's earned it over the past few weeks. But lastly,
- 29:46Speaker 1: make mister irrelevant B two. I think after this year,
