- 1:34SPEAKER_15: I'm very unfamiliar with this one, I guess.
- 1:36SPEAKER_15: The music band.
- 1:37SPEAKER_15: Oh, so calming though.
- 1:39SPEAKER_14: It is.
- 1:40SPEAKER_14: Yes, it's it's you know, remember we did that song with Derek when we were over at um, or he did that song for us when we were at uh the other place.
- 1:48SPEAKER_15: Those are river guides.
- 1:49SPEAKER_15: No, no, it was the uh Oh Di De Capo Music Room.
- 1:54SPEAKER_14: Yeah, um, and he said, I'll make you a theme song, and he did.
- 2:00SPEAKER_14: I think he just came up with that over the room.
- 2:02SPEAKER_14: On the spot.
- 2:03SPEAKER_14: Yeah, top of his head.
- 2:04SPEAKER_14: Really creative.
- 2:05SPEAKER_14: I found it in there and I thought, yeah, I'm gonna pull that.
- 2:08SPEAKER_15: Good call.
- 2:08SPEAKER_15: It definitely feels like the Sunday morning wake-up call with like smooth, smooth acoustic guitar and clarinet.
- 2:15SPEAKER_14: We're gonna screw that up for sure.
- 2:16SPEAKER_16: Yeah, here's loud abrasive music.
- 2:20SPEAKER_14: You know, um, you know, last week I said something about, hey, we should do an Elvis tribute, but you and I I I don't know, you have got to get out of my head.
- 2:28SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 2:29SPEAKER_14: Because I think we have the same feelings.
- 2:31SPEAKER_14: Yeah, I've been thinking, you know, maybe we shouldn't do the tribute to back to back.
- 2:35SPEAKER_15: You know, I Yeah, this is Elvis we're talking about, so we want to have some research under our belt.
- 2:40SPEAKER_14: Yeah, a little bit more.
- 2:41SPEAKER_15: Things a little controversial.
- 2:42SPEAKER_14: Yeah, you know, more so than I ever thought.
- 2:44SPEAKER_14: Yeah, these days.
- 2:46SPEAKER_14: Um, yeah, so you we'll do Elvis, but just not right now.
- 2:49SPEAKER_15: Yeah, we're gonna take a pause.
- 2:51SPEAKER_15: We're gonna do the first thing I thought of foreign language songs.
- 2:55SPEAKER_14: Yeah, you know, and I don't I obviously I didn't know I don't know many, but then you started rattling off like, oh, oh, yeah, oh, oh, I like that.
- 3:04SPEAKER_15: Yeah, there's some fun ones.
- 3:05SPEAKER_15: I put some recognizable ones in this mix, but also some new ones.
- 3:09SPEAKER_15: This first one I played almost as a joke because it's one of my favorites from being a teenager.
- 3:14SPEAKER_14: Oh, turn me on.
- 3:15SPEAKER_15: Yeah, it's a good song, right?
- 3:16SPEAKER_15: It's from a very famous anime.
- 3:19SPEAKER_15: It's uh Should I play it now?
- 3:21SPEAKER_15: Yeah, I wouldn't.
- 3:22SPEAKER_15: Without further ado, because I'm so excited to play this on the radio.
- 3:25SPEAKER_14: I could tell.
- 3:26SPEAKER_15: This is the the English radio station debut of A Cruel Angels Thesis from Neon Genesis Evangelion.
- 3:35SPEAKER_14: Say that three times real fast.
- 3:36SPEAKER_15: Yeah, Neon Genesis Evangelion.
- 3:38SPEAKER_15: I got too excited.
- 3:41SPEAKER_14: I heard it start.
- 3:42SPEAKER_14: Okay, start again.
- 3:42SPEAKER_14: Here we go.
- 3:43SPEAKER_15: Begin.
- 4:20SPEAKER_06: Solto, courage du monoton, moto mère ton immeuble, madame Shiranay, Itaikomi, Sukaki, la taliba, Aruka Mirai, name, Wata Chino a Yino Yuri Kabu.
- 6:04SPEAKER_06: Anatada kenga, you me no chichagi, yo barello a sanga kudu kuditsu chibou, chuki a karina bo tchushit, c'è kayichuno, to ki botomete, to ji kometa y to chi boutari a boto i mina chibato you think I'm shot in at it.
- 7:43SPEAKER_15: She wanted it.
- 7:45SPEAKER_14: Man, man, that was great.
- 7:46SPEAKER_14: I'd like it.
- 7:47SPEAKER_15: I'm really glad you liked that.
- 7:48SPEAKER_15: I'm glad you got it.
- 7:49SPEAKER_14: The only thing that I didn't care for, and you brought it up.
- 7:51SPEAKER_15: Uh-huh.
- 7:52SPEAKER_14: Uh, so I paid attention a little closer, is that guitar solo.
- 7:55SPEAKER_14: Because I think it looked to me like it was an afterthought.
- 7:57SPEAKER_14: Maybe we may we might we might need to make this sound more American.
- 8:00SPEAKER_15: Yeah, put in a guitar solo.
- 8:03SPEAKER_14: I didn't care for those licks, but uh it's now if Jeff Body had done that, that'd have been perfect.
- 8:08SPEAKER_14: Jeff Body?
- 8:09SPEAKER_14: Yeah, from Breason.
- 8:10SPEAKER_14: Oh.
- 8:10SPEAKER_14: My old buddy, yeah.
- 8:12SPEAKER_14: Why wasn't he doing that?
- 8:14SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 8:14SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 8:14SPEAKER_15: It's sort of a it's the anime that it is it's from is really weird.
- 8:19SPEAKER_15: It's really good.
- 8:20SPEAKER_15: Very pretty controversial, too.
- 8:22SPEAKER_15: Neon Genesis Evangelion, it's about the earth is being attacked by they call them angels.
- 8:27SPEAKER_15: They're these bizarre angelic monster beings that are trying to destroy the earth.
- 8:32SPEAKER_15: And so they build giant robots to fight them.
- 8:34SPEAKER_14: To fight off the giant angels.
- 8:37SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 8:38SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 8:38SPEAKER_15: Um, but uh So do they win?
- 8:41SPEAKER_14: Or do we know?
- 8:42SPEAKER_14: It hasn't ended up.
- 8:44SPEAKER_15: Uh no, it well, it's a long story.
- 8:45SPEAKER_15: It started in the 90s.
- 8:47SPEAKER_15: The original creator, you know, kind of fell out of love with it because the fan base was being so mean to him.
- 8:54SPEAKER_15: He they didn't like where he was taking the show, so he kind of left and checked out.
- 8:59SPEAKER_15: So I think it's still going now.
- 9:01SPEAKER_15: But the original series, it we win, but it's a really philosophical ending.
- 9:06SPEAKER_15: Because it brings in a lot of philosophy about religion and and the human condition.
- 9:11SPEAKER_15: It's really like it's a really deep show, man.
- 9:16SPEAKER_15: It's about this guy giant robots, but it's really deep.
- 9:19SPEAKER_15: So the ending is very philosophical.
- 9:21SPEAKER_14: Okay.
- 9:22SPEAKER_14: So, but I should probably smoke a couple of doobies.
- 9:25SPEAKER_15: Absolutely.
- 9:26SPEAKER_15: You'll get a kick out of it that way.
- 9:27SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 9:28SPEAKER_14: Well, and then I can get really deep.
- 9:29SPEAKER_14: Uh-huh.
- 9:29SPEAKER_14: You know, I can really get really deep.
- 9:31SPEAKER_15: And even if you don't like it, uh, just listen to the opening.
- 9:34SPEAKER_15: There you go.
- 9:35SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 9:36SPEAKER_14: Alright, so I I I love this idea.
- 9:39SPEAKER_14: Um, just foreign and you know that's foreign language.
- 9:42SPEAKER_14: Yeah, there's a there's a multitude of music that is fantastic.
- 9:47SPEAKER_14: I guess we couldn't call some of the bands from England being foreign language.
- 9:53SPEAKER_15: Well, yeah, I wouldn't say foreign language.
- 9:54SPEAKER_15: That's why I said foreign language.
- 9:57SPEAKER_15: So non-English.
- 9:58SPEAKER_14: Non-English, yeah.
- 10:00SPEAKER_15: Though this next song I'm gonna play, you know, a big portion of our audience could very well understand it here in New Mexico.
- 10:06SPEAKER_14: Okay.
- 10:06SPEAKER_15: Because it is uh it is a Shakira song.
- 10:08SPEAKER_14: Oh, I love Shakira.
- 10:09SPEAKER_15: And her the English version of this song can't went big in the States, but uh I've never really listened to the original Spanish.
- 10:56SPEAKER_14: I I I love, yeah, I would I love anything Shakira does.
- 10:59SPEAKER_14: I just kind of recently got turned on to her and within the last, I don't know, year or so.
- 11:03SPEAKER_14: Well, since the Super Bowl when she was on there, but since that time.
- 11:06SPEAKER_14: But you know, I'm beginning, I've got a new hip, so now I can dance with Shakira.
- 11:10SPEAKER_15: Absolutely, your hips won't lie.
- 11:14SPEAKER_15: And I'm starting to fear your boy.
- 11:17SPEAKER_15: Yeah, but uh this one's uh she wolf.
- 11:20SPEAKER_15: She wolf.
- 11:21SPEAKER_15: Well, I guess I should say the Spanish title Loba.
- 11:24SPEAKER_14: Loba.
- 14:31SPEAKER_14: Oh, wey I I just, you know, that nice pick.
- 14:36SPEAKER_15: Thank you, yes.
- 14:37SPEAKER_15: Loba, she wolf.
- 14:38SPEAKER_15: There's a she-wolf in your closet.
- 14:39SPEAKER_15: Let her out so she can breathe.
- 14:41SPEAKER_14: So Lobo is the female version of Lobo.
- 14:45SPEAKER_15: Yes.
- 14:46SPEAKER_14: Lobo is a wolf, I know.
- 14:47SPEAKER_15: And Loba is a she-wolf.
- 14:49SPEAKER_14: There's a she-wolf.
- 14:51SPEAKER_14: Okay.
- 14:52SPEAKER_15: We were discussing about how much we love Shakira too.
- 14:54SPEAKER_14: Yeah, you and Felicia?
- 14:56SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 14:56SPEAKER_15: We're like, she's pretty, but she's like cute too, right?
- 15:00SPEAKER_14: Yeah, well, you know what makes her so pretty is that personality.
- 15:03SPEAKER_15: Uh-huh.
- 15:04SPEAKER_15: And that like golden mane of hair of hers.
- 15:07SPEAKER_15: Like a lion.
- 15:08SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 15:10SPEAKER_14: I agree.
- 15:11SPEAKER_14: That was a that another another great pick.
- 15:13SPEAKER_15: Thank you, thank you.
- 15:13SPEAKER_15: What else do I got in here?
- 15:15SPEAKER_14: I don't know.
- 15:15SPEAKER_14: But here's what we're gonna do we're gonna do Rin Rants, right?
- 15:18SPEAKER_14: You're gonna do that.
- 15:18SPEAKER_14: Oh, yeah, we're gonna do a Rin Rant.
- 15:20SPEAKER_14: Next next half.
- 15:21SPEAKER_15: Because I know I've seen something, I just can't remember what.
- 15:23SPEAKER_14: Okay, well we'll figure it out.
- 15:25SPEAKER_14: But I'm also gonna do Davonese.
- 15:28SPEAKER_15: Davonese, the return!
- 15:30SPEAKER_14: Yeah, we'll do I'll have a Davenese word.
- 15:32SPEAKER_14: We'll do that this half, and we'll save the best, the Rin Rants for next half.
- 15:35SPEAKER_15: Cool.
- 15:36SPEAKER_15: And I know exactly what I'm gonna talk about.
- 15:38SPEAKER_14: Okay.
- 15:38SPEAKER_14: Do you want to give a tickle or you want to wait?
- 15:40SPEAKER_15: Uh let's say uh it'll be a pretty Jurassic review.
- 15:44SPEAKER_15: That was terrible.
- 15:45SPEAKER_15: That's Jurassic World.
- 15:47SPEAKER_14: Oh, did you s have you seen it?
- 15:49SPEAKER_14: I haven't seen the new one.
- 15:50SPEAKER_14: That's the new one.
- 15:51SPEAKER_15: The new one.
- 15:52SPEAKER_15: Um I have some opinions on it, but I'll save it for the one.
- 15:54SPEAKER_14: Okay, yeah, let's wait till then.
- 15:55SPEAKER_15: Yeah, what do I got here?
- 15:56SPEAKER_15: Oh, this next one is a French one.
- 15:58SPEAKER_14: French.
- 15:59SPEAKER_14: Carlow.
- 16:00SPEAKER_14: Je par Franceur en pauvre.
- 16:02SPEAKER_15: Uh, je ne peux pas francais.
- 16:04SPEAKER_15: Bien.
- 16:05SPEAKER_15: Je ne parle you know, I'm doing it.
- 16:08SPEAKER_15: I took four years of French, but I was awful at it.
- 16:10SPEAKER_14: I took two, but only for the girls.
- 16:12SPEAKER_15: Yes.
- 16:13SPEAKER_15: I did take the class four years because I love the teacher, but not in the same way you love your teacher.
- 16:18SPEAKER_14: Oh, yeah, we had this conversation before.
- 16:19SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 16:20SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 16:20SPEAKER_14: Both my French teachers were just knockouts.
- 16:22SPEAKER_15: Oh yeah.
- 16:23SPEAKER_15: Kids, if you get the chance to take a French class, try it.
- 16:26SPEAKER_15: Because the teachers often are really cool or beautiful.
- 16:29SPEAKER_14: And don't be a smart ass.
- 16:30SPEAKER_14: No, be the teacher's pet, trust me.
- 16:32SPEAKER_15: Oh yeah, it pays off.
- 16:33SPEAKER_14: Yes.
- 16:34SPEAKER_15: And it pays off.
- 16:34SPEAKER_15: Oh, yeah.
- 16:35SPEAKER_15: I forgot.
- 16:35SPEAKER_14: I had to learn the language and I made B's.
- 16:38SPEAKER_15: I uh always got by with C's because she would like feel bad for me and give me just enough points to give by.
- 16:45SPEAKER_15: But she knew I was capable of more.
- 16:47SPEAKER_15: Um but yes, this is Carla Bruni.
- 16:49SPEAKER_15: She was one time married to the president of France.
- 16:51SPEAKER_14: Oh really?
- 16:52SPEAKER_15: Yeah, but I didn't know her for that.
- 16:54SPEAKER_15: I knew her because I just really like this song.
- 16:56SPEAKER_14: Okay.
- 19:56SPEAKER_14: Oh, that was so pretty.
- 19:57SPEAKER_15: I'm so glad you liked that.
- 19:58SPEAKER_14: Yeah, I really like that.
- 19:59SPEAKER_14: And I was selling you up, Mike.
- 20:00SPEAKER_14: I think she could have done that a cappello.
- 20:02SPEAKER_15: Absolutely.
- 20:03SPEAKER_14: Because I don't her voice is like throaty, sexy, but not like nasty sexy.
- 20:09SPEAKER_15: Yeah, not like uh Janice Joplin with the like grungy sound.
- 20:12SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 20:13SPEAKER_15: Like smoke.
- 20:15SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 20:15SPEAKER_14: Not cigarette smoke.
- 20:17SPEAKER_14: But uh.
- 20:18SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 20:18SPEAKER_14: Alright, here's your Debianese word of the day.
- 20:20SPEAKER_14: Are you ready?
- 20:21SPEAKER_15: I'm ready.
- 20:21SPEAKER_14: It's at this time, it's the time of year.
- 20:23SPEAKER_14: Vacation.
- 20:24SPEAKER_14: Vacation.
- 20:25SPEAKER_14: That's what you take when you no longer when you no longer take what you've been taking.
- 20:35SPEAKER_15: Okay, say that one more time.
- 20:36SPEAKER_15: I was still thinking about Carla Bruni.
- 20:38SPEAKER_14: What you take when you no longer take what you've been taking.
- 20:42SPEAKER_15: What you take when you no longer take what you've been taking.
- 20:46SPEAKER_15: Yeah, okay.
- 20:47unknown: Yeah.
- 20:48SPEAKER_14: All right.
- 20:49SPEAKER_14: Your mention today, should you decide to accept it is to use that word as many times as possible in that context.
- 20:56SPEAKER_15: And please confuse your friends.
- 20:58SPEAKER_15: Just like Dave confused me.
- 21:00SPEAKER_14: Yeah, I like that look on your face.
- 21:01SPEAKER_14: I could very seldom can confuse you.
- 21:04SPEAKER_14: But today I wish I had a picture of them.
- 21:06SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 21:07SPEAKER_14: Yeah, you look like one of those geeks from Revenge of the Nerds.
- 21:11SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 21:12SPEAKER_14: Huh?
- 21:13SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 21:14SPEAKER_15: What is this equation I've been given?
- 21:16SPEAKER_15: Yeah, you often say, I can tell you're deep in thought.
- 21:19SPEAKER_15: I can smell the smoke.
- 21:21SPEAKER_15: That was me.
- 21:22SPEAKER_14: Alright.
- 21:23SPEAKER_14: So I I love this.
- 21:25SPEAKER_14: We're doing foreign tunes.
- 21:26SPEAKER_15: Foreign language songs.
- 21:27SPEAKER_14: Foreign language songs.
- 21:29SPEAKER_14: Not foreign tunes, but foreign language, but I guess the tunes are gonna be foreign too.
- 21:33SPEAKER_15: It's both, yeah.
- 21:33SPEAKER_15: I say foreign language just to emphasize not English today.
- 21:37SPEAKER_14: Right.
- 21:37SPEAKER_14: No, no English.
- 21:38SPEAKER_14: No, we we no Haba Ing I don't know.

- 21:48SPEAKER_15: Robert?
- 21:48SPEAKER_14: Robert, yeah, that was my French Robert.
- 21:51SPEAKER_15: Robert.

- 21:53SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 21:54SPEAKER_15: I was telling Felicia too, I got by in French class because I could do the I could do the accent, so I sounded better than I really was.
- 22:01SPEAKER_14: Yeah, it's all about rolling those R's.
- 22:03SPEAKER_15: Uh-huh.

- 22:06SPEAKER_14: There's things I can roll, but R's is not typically.
- 22:09SPEAKER_15: No.
- 22:10SPEAKER_14: I can a little bit, not.
- 22:12SPEAKER_15: I whenever I roll my R's like that, people like, I'm so jealous.
- 22:14SPEAKER_15: And I'm like, start?
- 22:15SPEAKER_15: I know it sounds dumb, but if you just practice, the only reason I can do that is because I've my dad could roll his R'credibly because he can speak Spanish.
- 22:23SPEAKER_15: When I was a kid, I wanted to do it too.
- 22:25SPEAKER_15: Been practicing for 10 years, boom, here we are.
- 22:28SPEAKER_14: Rolling R's.
- 22:32SPEAKER_14: Alright, so are we doing good on timeline?
- 22:34SPEAKER_14: Can we have time for another song?
- 22:35SPEAKER_14: Yeah, we have time for another song.
- 22:36SPEAKER_15: This is one that I know people will know.
- 22:38SPEAKER_14: Okay.
- 22:38SPEAKER_15: And it is a language that doesn't require Require any fancy uh phonetics.
- 22:42SPEAKER_15: German.
- 22:43SPEAKER_14: Oh, I love German.
- 22:44SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 22:45SPEAKER_14: I I somebody told me a long time, I was dating a girl that said that her grandfather was German, and she told me how to say I love you in German.
- 22:53SPEAKER_14: Oh yeah.
- 22:53SPEAKER_14: I've never looked it up, but I want to.
- 22:55SPEAKER_14: And she used to say onde bin.
- 22:57SPEAKER_15: On the bin.
- 22:59SPEAKER_14: I should look that up to see if that's really.
- 23:01SPEAKER_14: I wish we had some kind of thing.
- 23:02SPEAKER_15: That would be a great prank for her to play if you've been saying that I'm an idiot.
- 23:06SPEAKER_15: I'm an idiot.
- 23:08SPEAKER_15: I smell bad.
- 23:10SPEAKER_15: Because I know Leba is love.
- 23:12SPEAKER_15: Maybe I'm wrong.
- 23:12SPEAKER_15: I don't know.
- 23:13SPEAKER_15: There's a million different words.
- 23:14SPEAKER_14: What is Neva?
- 23:15SPEAKER_15: Leba?
- 23:15SPEAKER_14: Lieba?
- 23:16SPEAKER_15: Leba?
- 23:16SPEAKER_15: Or Liebling?
- 23:17SPEAKER_14: Liebling.
- 23:18SPEAKER_15: My lovely.
- 23:19SPEAKER_14: You know what's funny is her name was Neva.
- 23:21SPEAKER_14: That's why I thought you said Neva.
- 23:23SPEAKER_14: I'm like, how do you know her?
- 23:25SPEAKER_14: Like, what?
- 23:27SPEAKER_15: Did she contact you?
- 23:29SPEAKER_15: No, this one I I think more people will know.
- 23:31SPEAKER_15: Um it's both in English and in and uh German again.
- 23:34SPEAKER_15: 99 Luft Bellung.
- 23:36SPEAKER_14: Oh, yeah, that's a good one.
- 23:37SPEAKER_15: Yeah, and this one was played on accident.
- 23:39SPEAKER_15: They uh the original song that the DJ at the radio station was gonna play didn't work or something, he lost the disc, so he just sort of played this one and you know, and I and I when I first played this when I was working in the radio, I didn't care for it.
- 23:52SPEAKER_14: But the more I listened to it, I love this song.
- 23:55SPEAKER_14: It's kinda it's one of those acquired things.
- 23:57SPEAKER_14: It's kind of like Scotch.
- 23:58SPEAKER_14: You gotta acquired taste.
- 24:01SPEAKER_15: It's an acquired taste.
- 24:02SPEAKER_15: So if you don't like it, don't worry, there's nothing wrong with you.
- 24:05SPEAKER_15: You just don't have the taste.
- 24:06SPEAKER_14: We won't like you anymore.
- 24:08SPEAKER_14: We won't like you, we can't be friends if you don't get down with a nana.
- 24:11SPEAKER_14: I'm gonna unfriend your ass.
- 24:16SPEAKER_07: Sing a shine late for this, fine and non session love balance of even way from How it's not thanks to flight and single late for the nine and so on.
You're listening to the wake up call on ninety point nine FM and one oh three point three FM K SJE Farmington, New Mexico.
- 28:13SPEAKER_13: This is some exciting stuff, huh?
- 32:42SPEAKER_15: on the KSJ Sunday morning wake up calling.
- 32:45SPEAKER_14: I'm gonna we're going dancing on my hips.
- 32:49SPEAKER_15: When your hip heels.
- 32:51SPEAKER_14: I just love watching you move in the chair, and I'm thinking, yeah, we gotta go dancing.
- 32:55SPEAKER_15: Thanks, yeah.
- 32:56SPEAKER_14: Um so before before we get into that a little bit on that song, but let's go back to that uh 99 Loaf balloons, yeah.
- 33:03SPEAKER_14: Um and you told me, and we and I think we we talked about this because it was on our anti-war.
- 33:08SPEAKER_15: Yeah, it was on our protest.
- 33:09SPEAKER_14: It was screw you poons, right?
- 33:11SPEAKER_15: Yeah, screw you boon.
- 33:12SPEAKER_14: And um, but it is actually a a song about more about peace and not necessarily against war, right?
- 33:19SPEAKER_15: Yeah, it's against um, I think like super weapons to begin with.
- 33:23SPEAKER_15: Because the story of the song is basically two friends just buy some red balloons and blow them up on the hill, you know, at sunset and start sending them sending them off into the sky.
- 33:33SPEAKER_15: And then, you know, some country nearby sees it as, oh, they're sending out weapons, we gotta send out our weapons.
- 33:39SPEAKER_15: And so before you know it, the next country's sending out their weapons to defend.
- 33:43SPEAKER_15: So it's it's this sentiment that if you're always on guard and you're always expecting all of uh all of these other countries to hurt you, you know, it's eventually going to escalate into the catastrophe.
- 33:54SPEAKER_14: Where we're at now.
- 33:55SPEAKER_14: Almost.
- 33:55SPEAKER_15: Just about.
- 33:56SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 33:56SPEAKER_14: Alright, so this last song that you just played, what was it?
- 33:59SPEAKER_15: Oh, that one's just fun.
- 34:00SPEAKER_15: That was I just like that song.
- 34:01SPEAKER_14: Well, you're gonna tell me something during the song, you're saying, oh wait, I'm gonna hold it.
- 34:05SPEAKER_15: Oh, I can't remember.
- 34:06SPEAKER_14: I was afraid of that.
- 34:07SPEAKER_14: You should have drawn it.
- 34:08SPEAKER_14: No, I should have just said it.
- 34:09SPEAKER_14: If you remember it later in the show, we'll come back.
- 34:11SPEAKER_15: Yeah, I don't think it's about that song in particular.
- 34:13SPEAKER_15: It's probably just I like that song.
- 34:15SPEAKER_14: Yeah, it was cute.
- 34:16SPEAKER_15: Yeah, it's a fun little 80s movie.
- 34:18SPEAKER_15: Yeah, it's cute.
- 34:19SPEAKER_14: Yeah, you're kind of in the 80s mode.
- 34:21SPEAKER_14: I I wish you had big hair to go with that.
- 34:24SPEAKER_15: I know, just wait till it gets longer.
- 34:25SPEAKER_15: Well, you know, too, because like 80s Japanese pop has become popular now.
- 34:32SPEAKER_15: Right.
- 34:32SPEAKER_15: They call it city pop.
- 34:33SPEAKER_15: So I guess that's just been on my mind.
- 34:35SPEAKER_14: City like in the C I T-I?
- 34:37SPEAKER_15: CITY CITY POC because the 80s were kind of Japan's golden years.
- 34:42SPEAKER_15: Everybody had a lot of money and income, and you know, life was bustling in the cities.
- 34:47SPEAKER_15: So that kind of pop music reflects that lifestyle.
- 34:51SPEAKER_14: Well, I like the beats, and a lot of it is synthesized.
- 34:53SPEAKER_14: I realize it's not there's not a lot of like musicians playing or synthesizing a lot of it, but it's still real good.
- 35:00SPEAKER_14: There's a guitar in there.
- 35:01SPEAKER_14: Yeah, there's a guitar.
- 35:03SPEAKER_14: Um but the songs, the the voices are just they're beautiful.
- 35:07SPEAKER_15: Thank you, and that's one of the biggest reasons why I like a lot of foreign language songs, is there's nothing else to listen to but the the instrument of the voice itself.
- 35:16SPEAKER_15: So these are all really good singers.
- 35:18SPEAKER_15: I didn't think of that, but yeah.
- 35:20SPEAKER_14: Yeah, very, very nice.
- 35:21SPEAKER_14: Good job.
- 35:22SPEAKER_15: Thank you, thank you.
- 35:23SPEAKER_14: What do you got next there?
- 35:24SPEAKER_15: Uh well, next in my amazing, wonderful mix of songs.
- 35:29SPEAKER_15: I I I don't know this one.
- 35:31SPEAKER_14: Oh.
- 35:31SPEAKER_15: Yeah, I picked it I picked it on away.
- 35:34SPEAKER_15: Alert the media it was in like uh popular French songs playlist, and um it looked cute, so let's try it.
- 35:42SPEAKER_15: Let's discover it together, Sharon.
- 35:46SPEAKER_15: Yeah, I was not comfortable admitting that I didn't know.
- 35:49SPEAKER_15: I noticed.
- 35:50SPEAKER_15: I believe this is amour plastique.
- 39:34SPEAKER_14: I liked it okay.
- 39:35SPEAKER_14: It was alright.
- 39:36SPEAKER_14: I you know, I wouldn't it wasn't I didn't like it as much as I liked the others.
- 39:39SPEAKER_15: Yeah, me too.
- 39:39SPEAKER_14: I'd give that about a six.
- 39:41SPEAKER_15: That makes yeah, me too.
- 39:43SPEAKER_15: It was cute.
- 39:44SPEAKER_15: It reminded me of that like really simple French pop from the 60s.
- 39:48SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 39:48SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 39:49SPEAKER_15: I know another song that I want to play.
- 39:51SPEAKER_14: Do you?
- 39:52SPEAKER_15: I just had an epiphany.
- 39:53SPEAKER_14: Epitome.
- 39:54SPEAKER_15: Epitome.
- 39:55SPEAKER_14: Epithamy.
- 39:55SPEAKER_14: Epithamy?
- 39:57SPEAKER_14: Epithomy.
- 39:58SPEAKER_14: Epitome.
- 39:59SPEAKER_15: A pith helmet.
- 40:00SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 40:01SPEAKER_14: That's what I'm trying to say.
- 40:02SPEAKER_14: You know, most people I I never knew what a pith helmet was until I was wearing one one time, and they're like, oh, you got a pith helmet.
- 40:09SPEAKER_14: And I'm like, what in it?
- 40:10SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 40:11SPEAKER_14: I'm like, what?
- 40:11SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 40:12SPEAKER_15: That seems to be P-I-T-H.
- 40:15SPEAKER_14: Pith.
- 40:15SPEAKER_15: Pith.
- 40:16SPEAKER_15: Pith helmet.
- 40:17SPEAKER_15: I have no idea why they call it that.
- 40:18SPEAKER_14: No, me neither.
- 40:19SPEAKER_14: Well, I have an idea.
- 40:20SPEAKER_14: Because it's perfect if you're caught somewhere and you need someplace to take a leak.
- 40:24SPEAKER_15: Take a pith.
- 40:25SPEAKER_14: That's right.
- 40:27SPEAKER_15: It's a big bucket.
- 40:28SPEAKER_14: People with a lisp.
- 40:29SPEAKER_14: Oh boy.
- 40:30SPEAKER_15: Yeah, the inventor of the pith helmet just had a lisp.
- 40:32SPEAKER_15: Everybody misunderstood him.
- 40:35SPEAKER_15: Talk about foreign language.
- 40:38SPEAKER_15: No.
- 40:39SPEAKER_15: But this next one is an absolute classic.
- 40:41SPEAKER_15: A banger.
- 40:43SPEAKER_15: So good that even uh it survived to this day.
- 40:47SPEAKER_14: Oh, I I think I know, because we were talking about this is not Richie, is it?
- 40:51SPEAKER_15: It is.
- 40:51SPEAKER_14: Oh, I love Richie Valence.
- 40:53SPEAKER_15: Oh, yeah, this is the this is the big hit.
- 40:55SPEAKER_15: La Mum.
- 40:56SPEAKER_15: Gone too soon, but forever remembered.
- 40:59SPEAKER_15: Absolutely.
- 43:00SPEAKER_00: You're listening to the Wake Up Call on KSJE Farmington.
- 43:05SPEAKER_06: Don't always one, two, three jumps ahead.
- 43:08SPEAKER_06: Sink with us, you'll be well fed with happy music all the while.
- 43:13SPEAKER_06: Easy listening with a smile.
- 43:15SPEAKER_06: Keep jumping, follow suit.
- 43:17SPEAKER_06: You're gonna have a bright new future.
- 43:22SPEAKER_13: Don't go anywhere.
- 43:24SPEAKER_15: My my body is ready.
- 43:25SPEAKER_13: I mean you can't go anywhere.
- 43:27SPEAKER_13: Who do you think put that crazy glue on your toilet seat?
- 43:48SPEAKER_06: Ho perso il conto di quanti viaggi ti fai, quanti chilometri senza partire mai.
- 43:58SPEAKER_06: Io cerco il mare mentre tu cerchi lo i fai.
- 44:03SPEAKER_06: Quest'estate cosa fai?
- 47:02SPEAKER_14: Almost caught you napping, didn't I?
- 47:04SPEAKER_15: Yeah, I was jamming out too hard.
- 47:06SPEAKER_15: That one wasn't bad.
- 47:07SPEAKER_15: I picked that one on a whim because we were like, what language haven't we played yet?
- 47:11SPEAKER_15: Italian.
- 47:12SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 47:12SPEAKER_15: So I looked for the top Italian pop artist.
- 47:14SPEAKER_15: Miss Baby K came up, and this is one of her more popular songs, and yeah, it was pretty good.
- 47:19SPEAKER_14: I liked it.
- 47:19SPEAKER_14: And she's very pretty.
- 47:20SPEAKER_15: Oh, very pretty.
- 47:21SPEAKER_15: Please do yourself a favor and look up Baby K.
- 47:23SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 47:24SPEAKER_14: Baby K.
- 47:25SPEAKER_15: Baby K.
- 47:25SPEAKER_14: B-A-B-Y, Capital K.
- 47:28SPEAKER_15: Capital K.
- 47:28SPEAKER_15: She's she's got the goofy style.
- 47:30SPEAKER_14: Alright, I think we need a Rin Rams.
- 47:32SPEAKER_15: Oh my gosh, absolutely.
- 47:33SPEAKER_14: Okay, are you ready for that?
- 47:35SPEAKER_15: I'm so ready.
- 47:35SPEAKER_15: Do I have music and everything now?
- 47:37SPEAKER_14: Yeah, you do, but you only have the bed.
- 47:38SPEAKER_14: You're gonna have to pause and start again.
- 47:41SPEAKER_14: Technical stuff, but Okay, no, I remember.
- 47:43SPEAKER_15: I remember when we used to do this.
- 47:44SPEAKER_15: Okay.
- 47:45SPEAKER_15: Okay, good.
- 47:45SPEAKER_15: Let's play the music.
- 47:52SPEAKER_13: Time for film rant with Ren.
- 47:55SPEAKER_13: Hate 'em or love 'em.
- 47:57SPEAKER_13: New or classic.
- 47:58SPEAKER_13: Ren rants on them all.
- 48:00SPEAKER_13: Here's Ren.
- 48:04SPEAKER_15: It's me, I'm Lauren, and I'm here to say.
- 48:07SPEAKER_15: Um, I saw the new I could sing my whole review to that if I wanted.
- 48:12SPEAKER_15: I uh my review today is gonna be on Jurassic World Dominion.
- 48:17SPEAKER_15: The third in the Jurassic World series, and the sixth in the total Jurassic movies?
- 48:23SPEAKER_14: Yeah, I I don't know.
- 48:24SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 48:25SPEAKER_14: I just remember the first one, it's the only one I've seen, and I loved it, but I haven't really cared for any of the rest of them.
- 48:31SPEAKER_14: I'll have to give this one a try.
- 48:33SPEAKER_15: Um, Dave, earlier I asked you how you feel about giraffes.
- 48:36SPEAKER_14: Giraffes?
- 48:37SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 48:38SPEAKER_14: I I I think they're an they I think they're like a less I think they were made on a Friday.
- 48:43SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 48:43SPEAKER_14: With spare parts.
- 48:44SPEAKER_14: I think there's a few animals in the world, you know, the the platypus.
- 48:47SPEAKER_14: But you know, I had some spare parts.
- 48:49SPEAKER_14: Let's put this in there.
- 48:49SPEAKER_14: We got this, let's get rid of this.
- 48:51SPEAKER_14: Let's put this in there.
- 48:52SPEAKER_14: Poor thing.
- 48:53SPEAKER_14: I mean, you know, it's uh we only can live in certain areas where we can get food.
- 48:56SPEAKER_15: Oh, yeah, they need to run a lot too.
- 48:58SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 48:58SPEAKER_15: Um, so you sort of called it an abomination.
- 49:00SPEAKER_14: Yes, I do.
- 49:01SPEAKER_15: Which that wasn't my intention when I asked you the question, but it sort of plays into the Jurassic Park theme of creating abominations that shouldn't exist on the earth.
- 49:09SPEAKER_15: Um The reason why I mentioned giraffes is I don't really care about dinosaurs.
- 49:16SPEAKER_15: I don't hate them.
- 49:17SPEAKER_15: I don't I just don't care.
- 49:18SPEAKER_15: No feeling.
- 49:19SPEAKER_15: So when I describe it as I feel about dinosaurs, I think the average person feels about giraffes.
- 49:24SPEAKER_15: It's like, yeah, it's a thing that exists.
- 49:26SPEAKER_15: I don't care.
- 49:29SPEAKER_14: Have you ever fed a giraffe though?
- 49:32SPEAKER_14: Well, that'll change your mind.
- 49:33SPEAKER_15: Uh-huh.
- 49:34SPEAKER_14: Marshmallows, oh my god.
- 49:36SPEAKER_15: And then you changed my whole thinking on giraffes because I'm like, they are not a simple creature.
- 49:40SPEAKER_15: They are kind of bizarre.
- 49:41SPEAKER_14: So I'm gonna stop using that one, but they got this tongue that's like six foot long.
- 49:45SPEAKER_15: Yeah, and their whole like mating ritual is really bizarre.
- 49:48SPEAKER_14: Oh no, that I'm not familiar with.
- 49:49SPEAKER_15: Don't look into it.
- 49:50SPEAKER_15: Yeah, don't look into it.
- 49:51SPEAKER_15: That's all I'm gonna do.
- 49:52SPEAKER_14: It's gotta be bizarre.
- 49:53SPEAKER_14: I mean, look at them, poor things.
- 49:55SPEAKER_15: Yeah, exactly.
- 49:56SPEAKER_15: Anyway, dinosaurs.
- 49:57SPEAKER_15: I don't really care about them.
- 49:59SPEAKER_15: My mom's always liked them, so I have a soft spot for the Jurassic Park series because my mom likes it.
- 50:04SPEAKER_15: Um, and she offered me a ticket for this new movie.
- 50:06SPEAKER_15: I have not seen the other two Jurassic World movies.
- 50:09SPEAKER_15: I think I saw the first one, don't remember it.
- 50:11SPEAKER_15: Um, so I was just excited to hang out with my mom and get popcorn.
- 50:15SPEAKER_15: Um, I ended up really liking this movie.
- 50:17SPEAKER_15: Did you?
- 50:18SPEAKER_15: The plot's ridiculous.
- 50:19SPEAKER_15: Um, it almost feels like an amusement park rides ride at points where there's so many jump scares and so many sets where it's like, whoa, they're on the rickety bridge and the guy's getting them.
- 50:31SPEAKER_15: So um, but having no expectations and having no real love for the series, not hatred, just no real love.
- 50:38SPEAKER_15: Um, I really enjoyed it.
- 50:40SPEAKER_15: Really fun.
- 50:40SPEAKER_15: They bring back the old crew, Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern.
- 50:43SPEAKER_15: Really, yeah.
- 50:44SPEAKER_14: I love those guys.
- 50:45SPEAKER_15: Oh, and the doctor, I can't remember the actor's name, but I they do a great job in this.
- 50:49SPEAKER_15: Laura Dern is so cute, so fun.
- 50:52SPEAKER_15: Um, there's almost too many characters, but I like a story that's jumping around from character to character.
