- 0:00Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome into the College Football Recap. As always,
- 0:03Speaker 1: we are presented by Fandle. Of course, we're going to

- 0:25Speaker 1: and you already know we're juiced up about the Miami
- 0:28Speaker 1: at Notre Dame kickoff at 6 30 p.m central time
- 0:32Speaker 1: that is also where busson and pete on campus will
- 0:35Speaker 1: be plus there's a 30 profit boost you can use
- 0:38Speaker 1: on any college football game and any bet type big
- 0:43Speaker 1: matchup and prop big matchup and profit boost all day
- 0:47Speaker 1: long check out powerhouse saturday on fanduel fellas this week
- 0:52Speaker 1: was nuts last week was nuts the weekend before that
- 0:54Speaker 1: was nuts but the weekend coming up that we have
- 0:58Speaker 1: is arguably the greatest weekend of college football we will
- 1:02Speaker 1: ever experience in our lifetime.
- 1:04Speaker 2: The graveyard saying next week's, next week's Slid Games might
- 1:08Speaker 2: be better top to bottom. The graveyard. I'll tell you what,
- 1:11Speaker 2: the graveyard. You talking about weekend of the 14th graveyard? Yeah.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Really?
- 1:16Speaker 1: Good talk, Graveyard.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Hell yeah, Graveyard.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Hell yeah.
- 1:20Speaker 1: That boy's finishing his last notes for his little fix
- 1:23Speaker 1: of the G6, dude. Don't want to say a little.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Don't want to be disrespectful.
- 1:26Speaker 4: Yeah, but the 14th, you got Texas at LSU, Missouri
- 1:28Speaker 4: at Georgia, Florida at Kentucky, Oregon State at Boise State,
- 1:31Speaker 4: Utah at Arizona, Texas Tech at Oklahoma State, Northwestern at
- 1:34Speaker 4: Ohio State. I guess some of these went down, and
- 1:36Speaker 4: then Wake Forest at SMU. So maybe I take that back.
- 1:38Speaker 2: That's okay. You love both so much. You see the opportunity.
- 1:41Speaker 2: You see the opportunity.
- 1:42Speaker 1: But the chaos that took place these past weeks, it
- 1:44Speaker 1: just reshuffles the board every single week. We're looking at
- 1:47Speaker 1: Tennessee and Kentucky. We never thought that would be a
- 1:50Speaker 1: game with massive implications attached to it. But look at
- 1:53Speaker 1: us now, fellas. Look at us now.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Are the Wildcats for real? Is Tennessee going to be
- 1:58Speaker 2: a playoff contender? Find out this weekend. The Holy War.
- 2:04Speaker 1: A game we might see in a few weeks in
- 2:06Speaker 1: Dallas as well, the Holy War taking place. But let's
- 2:09Speaker 1: start breaking down these games right here. First, we'll start
- 2:10Speaker 1: with the SEC. Georgia, bye week. Florida, bye week. Georgia,
- 2:16Speaker 1: smack the shit out of Florida.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Onward?
- 2:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Maybe we feel pretty good about that one.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Game was over at halftime. Florida needs to be out
- 2:23Speaker 2: of the AP Top 25. Florida's still sitting in there
- 2:26Speaker 2: as a 25th rated team in the country. Florida needs
- 2:30Speaker 2: to be out of it. They're overrated. They were a
- 2:32Speaker 2: flash in the pan at the beginning of the year.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Jaden Ball, they can't get him going. I want to
- 2:36Speaker 2: say Georgia shut him down for less than 40 yards.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Another team has done that. They don't have a quarterback.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Florida needs to be out of the AP top. Florida
- 2:44Speaker 2: doesn't need to be a team in the conversation. When
- 2:46Speaker 2: everybody's talking about SEC and SEC, ESPN, and everything else,
- 2:50Speaker 2: Florida needs to be out of that conversation entirely.
- 2:51Speaker 1: They need to be on the outside looking in. They
- 2:53Speaker 1: need to watch the conversation and be like, wow, I wish.
- 2:55Speaker 2: We were part of that conversation, not actually in the conversation. Yeah, yeah.
- 2:58Speaker 2: They're a three-loss team. A three-loss team in the SEC
- 3:00Speaker 2: right now, I have them pegged as a team you
- 3:03Speaker 2: do not want to play are the South Carolina Gamecocks.
- 3:06Speaker 2: People are mad that they're right.
- 3:08Speaker 3: Hold on.
- 3:08Speaker 2: You're doing eight people. If you want to do eight people,
- 3:11Speaker 2: go ahead. We can go, okay, Georgia-Florida. Georgia killed them.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Florida needs to be out of the eight people. Right.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Florida, obviously, if you're not going to rush the ball effectively,
- 3:19Speaker 1: you're not going to win the game. They have 53
- 3:21Speaker 1: rush yards. They turned the ball over four times. Aaron Philo,
- 3:24Speaker 1: he comes in and maybe the craziest interception we've ever witnessed. Dude,
- 3:31Speaker 1: that was, I mean, you know what he's trying to do.
- 3:33Speaker 1: He's been watching Will Levis film because he just, he
- 3:36Speaker 1: taught them boys.
- 3:36Speaker 2: He's just been on Instagram.
- 3:37Speaker 1: That was the craziest shit I've ever seen him to
- 3:39Speaker 1: do that. Just take the sack and move on. But
- 3:41Speaker 1: I mean, clearly it wasn't going to help you anyway.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Georgia Bulldogs. I mean, we talked about it on Busting
- 3:47Speaker 1: the Paint. We've talked about it on the last College
- 3:49Speaker 1: Football Recap and on the locker room. It's like, Probably
- 3:52Speaker 1: the best team in our minds right now. They dropped
- 3:54Speaker 1: the one to Auburn, and it's like, don't focus on that.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Look how dominant of a football team they are. Because
- 3:58Speaker 1: when they need to throw it, they will. They're dominant
- 4:00Speaker 1: at running the ball. Their offensive line is dominant in
- 4:03Speaker 1: their run fits. Their defense will give a little bit
- 4:06Speaker 1: between the 35 and 35. But after that, it's like
- 4:09Speaker 1: they're shutting you down.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Yeah, they're the most complete team in college football right now.
- 4:13Speaker 2: In my season. Well, listen, I sit there with you
- 4:16Speaker 2: right here. Yeah, this Philo, dude. Look at that. Womp.
- 4:20Speaker 1: And it's also impressive, his arm action, to get the
- 4:22Speaker 1: ball down the field that far.
- 4:25Speaker 2: I was shocked.
- 4:26Speaker 1: You got to watch the film, and if you're going
- 4:27Speaker 1: to take any silver lining from that, it's like kids
- 4:29Speaker 1: got some serious arm strength to go underhand like that.
- 4:31Speaker 1: That's just crazy. Cocktober finale. The Cocks undefeated in Spooktober, correct?
- 4:38Speaker 3: No, no, no.
- 4:39Speaker 2: One loss.
- 4:40Speaker 1: The first week of Spooktober.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:41Speaker 1: And then boom, boom, boom, boom, from then on out.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Kentucky.
- 4:44Speaker 1: I'll give you the floor, JP, but this gives me
- 4:47Speaker 1: a big feel of a couple years ago when you
- 4:49Speaker 1: win your last six games and you're a 9-3 team.
- 4:52Speaker 1: And it's like, we should be in the playoffs. Why
- 4:53Speaker 1: aren't we in the playoffs? But now it looks like
- 4:55Speaker 1: a 9-3 team will be in the playoffs. You guys
- 4:58Speaker 1: go to Norman, handle business. The floor is yours, sir.
- 5:01Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. I mean, it was an awesome game. It
- 5:03Speaker 3: was the most complete game we've played all year. Halftime
- 5:06Speaker 3: rolls around. We're up by three possessions. Every South Carolina
- 5:09Speaker 3: fan in the group chats. Let's see if we finally
- 5:12Speaker 3: actually get over the hump. We have not played four
- 5:14Speaker 3: quarters of dominant football once all year. And this past Saturday,
- 5:19Speaker 3: they did it against what we thought was a top
- 5:22Speaker 3: five defense in the country. What is a top five
- 5:24Speaker 3: defense in the country? So that fired me up the most.
- 5:27Speaker 3: But the number one takeaway from that game was Lenore Sellers.
- 5:30Speaker 3: When Lenore Sellers plays like that, I truly, I know
- 5:33Speaker 3: I'm biased, but I don't think there's a more talented
- 5:36Speaker 3: player in college football than like a confident Lenore Sellers.
- 5:40Speaker 2: I don't want to one-up the biggest takeaway, but my
- 5:43Speaker 2: biggest takeaway is the theme all year has been get
- 5:47Speaker 2: a huge emotional win. You guys stormed the field last
- 5:50Speaker 2: week against Tennessee.
- 5:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:51Speaker 2: And it's letdown spot, letdown spot, letdown spot. And to
- 5:54Speaker 2: go and hang 42, Oklahoma had given up 42 all season.
- 5:57Speaker 2: to go and hang up 42 on Oklahoma in Norman
- 6:00Speaker 2: after a massive, like in a letdown spot, that to
- 6:03Speaker 2: me is like, I thought that was huge for South Carolina.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Legitimately a team you do not want to see. And
- 6:07Speaker 2: you guys will have, because you still have Georgia, right?
- 6:10Speaker 3: Exactly. So I was going to say the most complete
- 6:12Speaker 3: team in the country, hopefully we can keep our run going,
- 6:15Speaker 3: could play the hottest team in the country, which will be.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Because you guys are win out mode. If you're going
- 6:20Speaker 2: to have any shots, it's win out mode.
- 6:21Speaker 1: Any team with three losses is in win out mode.
- 6:24Speaker 1: You have to at this point. Biggest takeaway for me
- 6:27Speaker 1: is you got Brett Venables telling the players it's optional
- 6:29Speaker 1: to come in on Monday.
- 6:30Speaker 2: I mean, that is crazy.
- 6:33Speaker 3: And he's an unbreakable spirit.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Dude, he's got the mental attitude of a guy that's like, oh,
- 6:39Speaker 1: you're never going to. Like, he always seems like he
- 6:42Speaker 1: does the same thing every single day. Wakes up at
- 6:43Speaker 1: 5 a.m. and it's every 15 minutes. You know exactly
- 6:46Speaker 1: where he's going to be at all times. For him
- 6:47Speaker 1: to stay on the podium and look at the guys
- 6:49Speaker 1: and be like, they know their season's over from a
- 6:51Speaker 1: college football standpoint. And to say stuff like that, it's like,
- 6:54Speaker 1: maybe South Carolina really broke Oklahoma. Maybe quarter zip guy
- 6:57Speaker 1: is to blame for all of this.
- 6:59Speaker 2: True.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Those are the things that were going through my head.
- 7:01Speaker 3: And their left tackle, I forget his name, but he
- 7:03Speaker 3: had like, Fasusi had his worst game of the year.
- 7:06Speaker 1: He's, he's been dealing with injuries all year and he,
- 7:08Speaker 1: but he's an elite talent.
- 7:10Speaker 3: And I don't know, like dude, Dylan Stewart barely lined
- 7:13Speaker 3: up across from him.
- 7:14Speaker 1: He's predominantly on the right tackle, right?
- 7:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:15Speaker 3: I mean, he kind of floats around, but like our
- 7:18Speaker 3: D line is a, is a sneaky unit. Yeah.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Um, Sneaky team that no one's really talking about.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Ole Miss.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Ole Miss just goes in, throttles Auburn, handles business there.
- 7:29Speaker 1: To me, I don't know what to make of Ole Miss.
- 7:32Speaker 1: There's a world we were breaking it down on the
- 7:33Speaker 1: whiteboard last week where we could see an Ole Miss
- 7:35Speaker 1: and Tennessee SEC. Oh, I'm sorry. Ole Miss and LSU
- 7:39Speaker 1: SEC championship. Clearly a lot of dominoes have to fall there.
- 7:42Speaker 1: But when Keewan Lacey goes out, you play Auburn. There's
- 7:45Speaker 1: weird turnovers taking place. Trinidad only had four interceptions all
- 7:48Speaker 1: of last year. He's obviously... Not doubled that, but he's
- 7:51Speaker 1: way more. They go and play Georgia this week.
- 7:54Speaker 2: That'll be.
- 7:54Speaker 3: That's the game right there.
- 7:55Speaker 1: That is one of the games for sure.
- 7:58Speaker 2: And they're at Ole Miss, fortunately. They're in Oxford handling.
- 8:02Speaker 1: I mean, that is one of those. I think you
- 8:04Speaker 1: just flip a coin and see what happens because Trinidad
- 8:08Speaker 1: Chambliss has a tendency to just give Georgia fits all
- 8:12Speaker 1: the time. And they're at home.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Trinidad's going to have to pull a rabbit out of
- 8:14Speaker 2: the hat, bro. He does that. Like, I'm just saying
- 8:17Speaker 2: like Georgia, they, they, the way they run offensively, like
- 8:21Speaker 2: they're a very efficient offense. So if the, if it
- 8:23Speaker 2: is a shootout, that's where I guess it gets interesting.
- 8:25Speaker 2: I just do this. Georgia defense is so good. Yeah.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Those linebackers off all linebackers just fly around.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Ole Miss did shut down Mizzou a couple of weeks
- 8:33Speaker 2: ago and that rushing attack. So you're thinking like in
- 8:36Speaker 2: my head, I'm like, Georgia will be able to run
- 8:38Speaker 2: the football, but also it's like, you know, Ole Miss
- 8:41Speaker 2: shutting down Mizzou's rushing attack. They could still do the same,
- 8:44Speaker 2: I guess. in theory with Georgia.
- 8:46Speaker 1: And the fact that he won Lacey goes out with
- 8:47Speaker 1: a shoulder, their backup running back. He's from like Ontario,
- 8:50Speaker 1: Canada or Ottawa or one of those places in Canada. He,
- 8:53Speaker 1: I thought he was relatively effective. He looked, he looked
- 8:55Speaker 1: good in this game. And then Deuce Alexander, bro, multiple drops.
- 9:00Speaker 1: I mean, the score is what the score is, but
- 9:01Speaker 1: Deuce Alexander on, did you see that trick play? Bro,
- 9:05Speaker 1: you see it? Which, who are we talking about? Deuce Alexander,
- 9:08Speaker 1: their number one wide receiver.
- 9:09Speaker 2: No, I didn't see the trick play.
- 9:10Speaker 1: So they do a toss out to the right. He
- 9:13Speaker 1: rolls out. They've got everybody. He just lines up, throws it.
- 9:16Speaker 1: It is a great throw for a non-quarterback. And it
- 9:18Speaker 1: hits Deuce Alexander in the face mask and drops the ball.
- 9:22Speaker 1: He had multiple drops in that game.
- 9:23Speaker 4: I think, yeah, the drive before it, it goes off
- 9:26Speaker 4: his hands and it's an interception. He was in hell
- 9:29Speaker 4: a little bit in the first half.
- 9:30Speaker 1: He was in hell. Figured it out, though. Got it done.
- 9:34Speaker 1: It's just.
- 9:36Speaker 3: I mean, we hate to just do the hypotheticals because
- 9:39Speaker 3: crazy things happen all week or all year. But if
- 9:42Speaker 3: Ole Miss beats Georgia.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Bro, if Ole Miss beats Georgia, they've got a clear
- 9:48Speaker 1: path to the SEC championship. Yeah.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Clear path. My brain will hurt trying to get in
- 9:53Speaker 2: the lab and break down all the different scenario.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Oh, I know the one scenario I'm kind of hoping
- 9:58Speaker 1: for right here just because of the chaos was a
- 10:01Speaker 1: week three that Ole Miss and LSU played Yeah, and
- 10:03Speaker 1: just the the anarchy that possibly took place in Ole
- 10:06Speaker 1: Miss was nuts Imagine those two teams playing again in
- 10:09Speaker 1: Atlanta for the SEC championship where you have to have
- 10:14Speaker 1: LSU would have to be Alabama this weekend and Obviously,
- 10:17Speaker 1: Ole Miss.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Both coming off bye weeks.
- 10:19Speaker 1: Both coming off bye weeks, but in Baton Rouge. Was
- 10:21Speaker 1: it an 11 a.m.
- 10:22Speaker 3: Game?
- 10:23Speaker 1: 2 o'clock game? Something that's just disgusting. Should absolutely be
- 10:27Speaker 1: a night game in Baton Rouge. But then you have Alabama.
- 10:30Speaker 1: So Alabama's lost one. Georgia's lost one. That's where LSU...
- 10:34Speaker 1: has to go out that next week. Who do they
- 10:36Speaker 1: play after that? They play Tennessee, right? They got to
- 10:39Speaker 1: go to Tennessee.
- 10:40Speaker 2: No, no, no, no.
- 10:40Speaker 1: They play Texas the next week in Baton Rouge. Then
- 10:42Speaker 1: they have a muffin. Then they have Tennessee on November 21st.
- 10:47Speaker 1: That's where I see that being like, you know, if
- 10:48Speaker 1: Tennessee handles business and LSU handles business, those two teams
- 10:51Speaker 1: could be playing for a bid in the SEC championship.
- 10:54Speaker 2: I think LSU's got to go, yeah, back to back
- 10:56Speaker 2: to back. Oh, they do.
- 10:57Speaker 1: They have three in a row. They finished with the
- 11:01Speaker 1: Arkansas muffin at the end of the year.
- 11:03Speaker 3: Which, where's that game? Fayetteville can be a scary place.
- 11:06Speaker 2: It's in Fayetteville.
- 11:07Speaker 3: That's a scary place.
- 11:08Speaker 5: Arkansas is a tough place to play on the road.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Dude, I always didn't see them. Mizzou just went down
- 11:12Speaker 2: there and patted them on the ass, dude. Yeah, they...
- 11:15Speaker 2: They're good for one, bro.
- 11:16Speaker 3: They're always good for one.
- 11:17Speaker 2: They're out there complaining in press conferences.
- 11:19Speaker 1: This is the SEC in this weekend, where there are
- 11:23Speaker 1: eight ranked teams in the top 25.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Eight of them.
- 11:25Speaker 1: And all of them play each other. Four more losses
- 11:28Speaker 1: on the board for some top 25 teams.
- 11:30Speaker 2: Keep your eye on Texas at Mizzou this weekend. Oh, yeah? Yeah.
- 11:34Speaker 2: You go and watch Texas against Mississippi State. I know
- 11:36Speaker 2: the score was, what, like 31-3 or something?
- 11:39Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 11:40Speaker 2: Dude, Mississippi State's defensive line was getting after Texas' offensive line.
- 11:44Speaker 1: You're missing Trevor Goosby, dude. He goes out with a
- 11:46Speaker 1: patella injury, right? He was supposed to be probably number
- 11:50Speaker 1: one tackle taken off the board. Been playing good ball.
- 11:53Speaker 1: It's going to be... Texas could be in trouble. But
- 11:59Speaker 1: we'll break all that down in the locker room this Wednesday.
- 12:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Big 10. This note here, right? And I want to
- 12:05Speaker 1: know what you're thinking about it. In bold. Times New
- 12:08Speaker 1: Roman bold says, might be bad.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Yeah, there's an argument there that the Big 10 might
- 12:16Speaker 2: be bad in totality this year. Like, Indiana to me looks,
- 12:21Speaker 2: it is crazy how comfortable they are in those one-score
- 12:25Speaker 2: games in the fourth quarter. Yeah. Trading 60-yard field goals.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Cignetti's the boogeyman. He is the boogeyman. You know he
- 12:36Speaker 2: loves it. Yeah.
- 12:37Speaker 3: He loves winning the one score.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Did you see him on the field? He's like, oh,
- 12:40Speaker 1: we're in the entertainment business, so we thought we'd make
- 12:42Speaker 1: it entertaining. We did everything wrong we could possibly do
- 12:44Speaker 1: just to make it a game in overtime. But then
- 12:46Speaker 1: they go like, they stumble, they stub their toe for
- 12:49Speaker 1: 60 minutes and go into overtime off a 60-yard field
- 12:52Speaker 1: goal after Minnesota just did that, but they do it
- 12:55Speaker 1: in one play and get it done. Then they go
- 12:58Speaker 1: to overtime and in one play score a touchdown.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Yeah, Charlie Becker.
- 13:01Speaker 3: He's a demon.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Hey, that is nuts.
- 13:06Speaker 2: And then Hoover getting benched. Yeah. Yeah.
- 13:10Speaker 5: Grant Wilson.
- 13:11Speaker 2: Grant Wilson. He looked good in that game. Yeah. I
- 13:14Speaker 2: don't know what to make of it. I liked it.
- 13:16Speaker 2: Indiana can run the football and they have a hell
- 13:18Speaker 2: of a defense. And that, those are a couple of
- 13:21Speaker 2: things that'll take you deep in the playoffs. So people
- 13:23Speaker 2: can talk about big 10 might be bad. Like we're
- 13:25Speaker 2: looking at UCLA, a sneaky one this weekend is UCLA
- 13:27Speaker 2: going to Minnesota. Uh, but if we're looking at a UCLA, Indiana, uh,
- 13:32Speaker 2: Big 10 championship, like both of those teams right now,
- 13:36Speaker 2: in my opinion, could make noise in the playoff. Yeah.
- 13:39Speaker 2: They're not as exciting or they don't look as good
- 13:41Speaker 2: as all these other top teams in the country, like
- 13:43Speaker 2: offensively and making a bunch of plays. But something about Indiana, bro,
- 13:48Speaker 2: and the boogeyman on the sideline. Like they have the
- 13:50Speaker 2: line of scrimmage.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Just continues to get it done. And the way, I mean,
- 13:54Speaker 1: we'll get to Ohio State. Actually, we can get to
- 13:56Speaker 1: it right now. USC beats Ohio State 30-8.
- 13:58Speaker 2: What were you going to say? Some graveyard?
- 14:00Speaker 4: Yeah, it's just crazy to think with the Big Ten,
- 14:03Speaker 4: all the top four or five teams, like nobody has
- 14:06Speaker 4: their starting quarterback.
- 14:07Speaker 5: Like right now, Ohio State, no.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Indiana, no.
- 14:12Speaker 5: UCLA, no.
- 14:13Speaker 2: Oregon, no. And Oregon beat Northwestern.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 14:19Speaker 2: Is Oregon becoming a weird team you don't want to
- 14:22Speaker 2: play at this point in the year when they're kind
- 14:24Speaker 2: of out of it?
- 14:25Speaker 5: So much talent, nothing to lose.
- 14:27Speaker 4: Yeah, you don't want to see Oregon on the schedule.
- 14:30Speaker 4: Ohio State should be scared with that game coming up
- 14:33Speaker 4: next week.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Especially the way that defense played against USC, bro. Yeah,
- 14:38Speaker 1: the way they played against USC. Especially if you have
- 14:41Speaker 1: a backup quarterback in. What are you doing? Like, how
- 14:44Speaker 1: are you not going to stand up in the most
- 14:46Speaker 1: opportune time to help out a guy who's getting his
- 14:49Speaker 1: feet wet for the first time?
- 14:50Speaker 2: Yeah. The linebacker play to me was so confusing. Like
- 14:53Speaker 2: that grown man play we saw from the tight end. Yeah, Bowman.
- 14:56Speaker 2: For USC. That play, like the coverage that Ohio State's in,
- 15:01Speaker 2: like they're playing a two shell. So the guy who's
- 15:05Speaker 2: got that tight end is the backer. Like he's walling
- 15:08Speaker 2: him vertical. But he just goes out and bangs him,
- 15:11Speaker 2: like tries to get a shot on him. But his
- 15:13Speaker 2: hips are closed to where he can't run. And I'm
- 15:15Speaker 2: just thinking, what are they doing defensively? Because the backer,
- 15:19Speaker 2: the one I'm looking at, 26. I was watching him
- 15:21Speaker 2: a few plays. Even in the run game, they're getting
- 15:23Speaker 2: popped in the run game a little bit. I'm thinking,
- 15:26Speaker 2: where are you going? I feel like he's in the
- 15:28Speaker 2: wrong gap. From what I'm watching, I'm like, the backers
- 15:32Speaker 2: were just not executing well. Yeah. These are freshers. Yeah.
- 15:37Speaker 2: So you're talking about 26? I'm talking about him scoring
- 15:40Speaker 2: on this play. You're talking about the milk check here. Yeah,
- 15:44Speaker 2: the milk check. They're in cover two.
- 15:46Speaker 1: This is 14 you're talking about right here.
- 15:48Speaker 2: 14 or 26. One of them has this dude vertical. Right. Vertical.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Cover two. Middle linebacker has to sprint and get out
- 15:55Speaker 1: of there. He's thinking pass first.
- 15:56Speaker 2: You can't have your hips closed. See, watch. He goes
- 15:59Speaker 2: out there to try to get hands on him. I
- 16:00Speaker 2: don't mind that, but you've got to have your hips
- 16:02Speaker 2: in a position where you can at least run vertical.
- 16:05Speaker 4: Mm-hmm.
- 16:06Speaker 2: And this dude just has the play of the year. Like,
- 16:08Speaker 2: this is the most grown man shit you're going to
- 16:10Speaker 2: see in 2026. Yeah, and he's 18.
- 16:12Speaker 1: You know, what's interesting about this is Ohio State outgained
- 16:18Speaker 1: USC 464 yards to 338 yards. But Ohio State, 11
- 16:22Speaker 1: penalties in that game. The red zone efficiency was horrendous.
- 16:26Speaker 1: And the uncharacteristic missed tackles. Like, clearly, I like to
- 16:30Speaker 1: see Ohio State to lose. But it just seemed like
- 16:33Speaker 1: Didn't seem like a Ryan Day team that just all
- 16:35Speaker 1: of a sudden will just flop an ass all over
- 16:37Speaker 1: the place.
- 16:38Speaker 2: They did the ball for 40 minutes. It's just crazy.
- 16:40Speaker 2: 40 minutes, over 200 yards on the ground. Like, if
- 16:44Speaker 2: you were able to have those stats before the game starts,
- 16:46Speaker 2: you're like, oh, Ohio State's going to kill this team.
- 16:48Speaker 2: We interrupt this episode because Neutral is teaming up with
- 16:50Speaker 2: Bustle with the Boys to give one lucky fan and
- 16:52Speaker 2: their crew the chance to experience the ultimate tailgate in
- 16:55Speaker 2: Las Vegas. This is the biggest season in sports, and
- 16:58Speaker 2: Neutral is helping one fan take their college football weekend
- 17:01Speaker 2: to the next level. One winner and guests will get
- 17:03Speaker 2: to join the boys, the bus, and crew for an
- 17:05Speaker 2: unforgettable tailgate experience in Vegas. Whether you're watching from the couch,

- 17:12Speaker 2: the perfect companion for college football Saturdays. It's made with
- 17:15Speaker 2: real vodka and real juice. That's what makes it taste
- 17:17Speaker 2: so great and comes in a variety of flavors, like
- 17:20Speaker 2: fan favorites, pineapple and watermelon, new flavors, lime and strawberry.
- 17:25Speaker 2: And Neutral is made for sharing with friends and enjoying
- 17:28Speaker 2: all season long during tailgates, watch parties, and game day celebrations.
- 17:31Speaker 2: Enter for your chance to win the ultimate tailgate experience
- 17:34Speaker 2: in Las Vegas. Neutral, eat it tasty. My thoughts on
- 17:38Speaker 2: Luke Fahey, too, because there's a lot of back and
- 17:40Speaker 2: forth on if he played well, if he didn't play well.
- 17:42Speaker 2: I just thought he was all right. You want to
- 17:45Speaker 2: be in an advantageous spot to where you're ahead of
- 17:47Speaker 2: the sticks. You're not making Luke Fahey win the game.
- 17:50Speaker 2: But there are three balls, deep balls, that I'm almost
- 17:54Speaker 2: wanting to punch the computer on. Because if they hit those,
- 17:57Speaker 2: one in the red zone to where he had him,
- 17:59Speaker 2: he had him in the end zone, misses him too far.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Jeremiah Smith, he has the dude beat. All you got
- 18:04Speaker 2: to do is throw it as far as you fucking can,
- 18:06Speaker 2: and he's going to go get it. Ends up underthrowing him.
- 18:09Speaker 2: And then there was another one. It's... It's, um, it's
- 18:13Speaker 2: fleeting my brain right now, but there was another one
- 18:15Speaker 2: to where it's like, man, if even when they're trying
- 18:17Speaker 2: to get back in the game, if he has those
- 18:18Speaker 2: deep balls, that to me is like, all right, that's
- 18:21Speaker 2: where you miss Julian saying, but as far as like,
- 18:23Speaker 2: he played well enough to not, you know, to not
- 18:25Speaker 2: lose the football game. I just, I thought he played. Okay.
- 18:28Speaker 1: It seems like, especially coming out of like, um, the
- 18:31Speaker 1: Ohio state fan base, the, the criticism isn't on the quarterback, uh,
- 18:36Speaker 1: It's on all the miscues with the penalties, the offensive line,
- 18:40Speaker 1: and the defense.
- 18:41Speaker 2: And Chris Henry, too. He has one good catch, but
- 18:46Speaker 2: he drops one, and then they get an illegal formation
- 18:49Speaker 2: because he's not on the line of scrimmage. It's like, buddy,
- 18:53Speaker 2: you want to get more reps. You can't be doing
- 18:56Speaker 2: dumb shit that beats the team. It's like they were
- 18:58Speaker 2: in one where it was ace, and both the Y
- 19:00Speaker 2: and the U were off the ball. He's over here.
- 19:03Speaker 2: He's on the outside, just not on the line of scrimmage.
- 19:05Speaker 2: They get an illegal formation call. I'm like, oh, my man,
- 19:09Speaker 2: everybody wants this kid to be on the field more,
- 19:11Speaker 2: but you've got to catch the football and you've got
- 19:13Speaker 2: to line up correctly.
- 19:14Speaker 1: Those are two things that need to be done if
- 19:15Speaker 1: you want to play more football.
- 19:17Speaker 2: And if you want to play wide receiver.
- 19:18Speaker 1: Right, absolutely.
- 19:19Speaker 6: So they were down 15, they scored. Is the plan
- 19:25Speaker 6: on offense, do you go for two on the first one?
- 19:29Speaker 3: Touchdown?
- 19:29Speaker 1: Greg Olson logic says go for two on the first one.
- 19:32Speaker 3: But then.
- 19:35Speaker 6: You're still down nine if you don't get it.
- 19:37Speaker 1: The argument to that is you want to end the
- 19:39Speaker 1: game in regulation.
- 19:41Speaker 2: That's the methodology, the analytics.
- 19:43Speaker 1: Yeah, the methodology is you have 60 minutes to finish
- 19:46Speaker 1: a football game. In those 60 minutes... what do you
- 19:50Speaker 1: need to do? And if it's score, touchdown right there, yeah,
- 19:52Speaker 1: you go for two immediately. Because what are the odds?
- 19:55Speaker 1: Like 40-something percent in the gear two-point conversion?
- 19:58Speaker 2: Something like that. And then also the way your defense
- 20:00Speaker 2: has been playing all game, you're not trusting that the
- 20:03Speaker 2: defense is going to be able to win the game. Yeah.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Because USC was kind of just.
- 20:07Speaker 6: I think they still need to get the onside kick.
- 20:09Speaker 6: Cause I think they went for an onside kick. They
- 20:10Speaker 6: obviously didn't get it. But in my head, I'm like,
- 20:12Speaker 6: go just kick the field goal. Cause then if you
- 20:14Speaker 6: don't get this, the game's over.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Hey, listen, Willie lytics. I'm taking the XP dude. You're
- 20:20Speaker 2: essentially just taking the XP. Let's get an onside kick
- 20:23Speaker 2: and then we'll go for two.
- 20:24Speaker 1: You're delaying your sadness is what you're doing. It's basically
- 20:26Speaker 1: what you're doing by, by kicking the extra point. As
- 20:29Speaker 1: opposed to just, let's answer the bell now. Let's find
- 20:31Speaker 1: out right now who we are. You just had the
- 20:33Speaker 1: momentum of a drive. You score a touchdown. People are
- 20:36Speaker 1: feeling good. Defense is more tired. Clearly, their offense is
- 20:38Speaker 1: doing better than your offense or has been more efficient
- 20:41Speaker 1: in the game. You don't trust your defense. Let's go
- 20:44Speaker 1: and put us in a one-score game.
- 20:47Speaker 3: Okay.
- 20:47Speaker 2: That's the thought process. Your two-point play is going to
- 20:49Speaker 2: be the two-point play whether you run it now or
- 20:50Speaker 2: you run it later.
- 20:51Speaker 3: But then you just fucking threw it out of the
- 20:52Speaker 3: end zone.
- 20:53Speaker 2: Yeah, two-point play.
- 20:54Speaker 6: Like, Fahey, you just got to, like, just... Throw it
- 20:57Speaker 6: up to four. Who cares if it gets picked off?
- 21:00Speaker 6: It's like throwing a Hail Mary out of the end zone.
- 21:02Speaker 6: Give somebody a chance.
- 21:04Speaker 1: He said, what, 150 yards pretty much in the last three,
- 21:07Speaker 1: two games? His stats are down. For sure. He scores
- 21:13Speaker 1: a touchdown... In the end zone that gave him what?
- 21:17Speaker 1: He was the, he either tied most touchdowns.
- 21:21Speaker 6: I think he's the all-time leader now.
- 21:22Speaker 1: He's the all-time leader in touchdowns. He scores that touchdown
- 21:25Speaker 1: and just jogs off the field. I don't know if
- 21:28Speaker 1: this cat is the greatest leader of all time for
- 21:31Speaker 1: his team to be down. Like when I saw that,
- 21:33Speaker 1: where the score was at, I'm like, yo, maybe Jeremiah
- 21:36Speaker 1: Smith is truly just about winning games. And he's like,
- 21:39Speaker 1: he's the truth and also cares so much about winning.
- 21:43Speaker 1: as opposed to some of these other receivers that just
- 21:45Speaker 1: want their stats and they're going to lose their minds.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Dude, these other receivers care more about a fucking first
- 21:50Speaker 2: down celebration than they do going after somebody.
- 21:53Speaker 1: We have Boomer Willie on the pod. You are just
- 21:55Speaker 1: going ham today, dude.
- 21:57Speaker 2: These kids nowadays. There's a couple in the Nebraska game,
- 22:00Speaker 2: and I just see it across college football. These kids
- 22:02Speaker 2: love more celebrating on the first down, having a little
- 22:06Speaker 2: first down, Selly, than they do getting back on the
- 22:08Speaker 2: ball and let's go run it down their throat.
- 22:11Speaker 3: I told Will we got to have a game where
- 22:12Speaker 3: no cameras are allowed. So they know there's nobody taking
- 22:16Speaker 3: photos of them. There's not going to be anything for
- 22:17Speaker 3: them to post so we can find out who really
- 22:19Speaker 3: loves football.
- 22:19Speaker 1: Who loves ball.
- 22:20Speaker 2: There's an epidemic in college football right now, bro. The
- 22:24Speaker 2: first down celebrations are out of hand. And also, you
- 22:27Speaker 2: see defensively, it could be a ball could sail and
- 22:30Speaker 2: it's incomplete. You ain't just getting the 1DB doing this.
- 22:34Speaker 2: Damn near multiple players on defense are doing it now.
- 22:38Speaker 2: It's an epidemic. You call me Boomer Willie, call me
- 22:41Speaker 2: whatever you want, I think it's bullshit. Get back on
- 22:44Speaker 2: the ball. The ball was overthrown. I don't mind a little,
- 22:47Speaker 2: you know, you do an incomplete. I did it a
- 22:49Speaker 2: few times.
- 22:50Speaker 1: You Spider-Man guys.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Yeah, Spider-Man guys. What are we talking about? Yeah, but
- 22:55Speaker 2: it's just, listen, I'll have to show you some plays,
- 22:57Speaker 2: but it's out of hand, man. It's out of hand.
- 23:00Speaker 2: The seatbelt's strapped for everything. Yeah.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Listen, kids.
- 23:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:06Speaker 1: Kids, if you're sitting on this college football recap after
- 23:08Speaker 1: week nine of the college football season, and you're wondering
- 23:10Speaker 1: why Will Compton is acting the way he is, I
- 23:12Speaker 1: will now read a result of a game, and you
- 23:16Speaker 1: will know exactly where Will Compton's standing. Nebraska loses their
- 23:18Speaker 1: third straight to Washington, 17-10. The notes on this game are? Will, dot, dot,
- 23:24Speaker 1: question mark. So now, if you are not a Nebraska
- 23:28Speaker 1: fan and you don't care to hear about this, go
- 23:30Speaker 1: ahead and skip over about the next 15 minutes.
- 23:33Speaker 2: I don't got 15 minutes to put on this game.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Okay. But for right now, we are going to talk
- 23:37Speaker 1: about the Nebraska Huskers. William, first off, I do want
- 23:41Speaker 1: to give you my condolences.
- 23:42Speaker 2: I am sorry. I am sorry. Listen, you think it
- 23:44Speaker 2: doesn't get worse. Not worse, but the whole monkey that's
- 23:48Speaker 2: been on our back over 10 years, that Indiana game.
- 23:51Speaker 3: Right.
- 23:52Speaker 2: You think it doesn't get, you know, let's go out
- 23:53Speaker 2: to Oregon. Then you lose in the fourth quarter to
- 23:56Speaker 2: not only Oregon, but Dylan comes in, backup quarterback, they
- 23:58Speaker 2: bring him in, rail the pizzas. Yep. Then you're like,
- 24:02Speaker 2: it can't get much more painful than that. Yep. And
- 24:05Speaker 2: then this Washington game happens. DeMond Williams doesn't come in
- 24:08Speaker 2: until the fourth quarter. And then they do it. Bro,
- 24:13Speaker 2: I'll say this because I got to choose my words
- 24:15Speaker 2: carefully because your boy is very frustrated. Saturday was the
- 24:20Speaker 2: first time I felt uncontrollably frustrated watching a game, watching
- 24:26Speaker 2: this game, watching a game for Nebraska. Like I haven't meddled. Listen,
- 24:30Speaker 2: I'm not in the camp. Everybody talking about the fire rule.
- 24:33Speaker 2: They're talking about the players. They're talking about Hogarth and
- 24:35Speaker 2: all that stuff. I just know I've never operated that way.
- 24:39Speaker 2: When Mike Riley was the head coach, like I was playing,
- 24:41Speaker 2: I was playing a lot more in Washington when Frost
- 24:44Speaker 2: was the head coach. It was just, it was never
- 24:46Speaker 2: part of my operation when it was bad. It was
- 24:49Speaker 2: hanging the banner for the best three-win team in the country.
- 24:51Speaker 2: It was finding all the little wrinkles that I could
- 24:53Speaker 2: just spin in my head because we just weren't a
- 24:55Speaker 2: very good football team.
- 24:56Speaker 1: And also, you don't want to be an alumni of
- 24:58Speaker 1: a school that you're really proud of and be a
- 25:00Speaker 1: negative voice to it.
- 25:01Speaker 2: No, because I've talked to you about this before. Being
- 25:04Speaker 2: a player and being in the locker room and knowing
- 25:06Speaker 2: what the noise can do and knowing that old heads
- 25:09Speaker 2: or guys who have played there are talking shit on
- 25:11Speaker 2: our current team. whether it was Pelini, whether it was
- 25:13Speaker 2: our defense, whether it was our leadership, whatever, I remember
- 25:16Speaker 2: how I felt as a player. As much as you
- 25:19Speaker 2: want to block out the noise, you still see all
- 25:21Speaker 2: the noise. So I never, being in the spot that
- 25:24Speaker 2: we're in now, I've never wanted to operate that way, ever.
- 25:28Speaker 2: And Saturday was the first time I felt uncontrollably frustrated
- 25:33Speaker 2: to where I don't know. I don't know. I don't
- 25:37Speaker 2: know what it is. Cause everybody talking about it's rule.
- 25:39Speaker 2: It's this. Do I wish rule would handle some of
- 25:41Speaker 2: the postgame person? Everybody's talking about leader, blah, blah, blah. Yes.
- 25:44Speaker 2: I wish you would have a little bit more of
- 25:46Speaker 2: a fuck you attitude because the noise is so fucking loud.
- 25:49Speaker 2: I almost want the noise to be used. It was
- 25:51Speaker 2: like when, now I'm going to talk about the Achilles
- 25:54Speaker 2: heel of Bo Pelini. It would always feel like it's
- 25:56Speaker 2: us versus now everybody else. But there's almost a part
- 25:59Speaker 2: of me that's like, I want all the players and
- 26:01Speaker 2: everybody to kind of see what's being said because this
- 26:03Speaker 2: team is good enough. And people are like, Holgerson's lost
- 26:08Speaker 2: his fastball. I've watched every snap of this game three times.
- 26:12Speaker 2: And I just don't see Holgerson losing his fastball. I
- 26:17Speaker 2: don't see, it's just, it's a whole collection.
- 26:19Speaker 1: What is Holgerson's fastball?
- 26:21Speaker 2: Him being a respected coordinator coming to Nebraska, they think
- 26:23Speaker 2: he's passed his time. They think the game's caught up
- 26:25Speaker 2: to him. Like he's not able to operate offensively. Bro,
- 26:28Speaker 2: we moved the ball. There are just people like, oh,
- 26:31Speaker 2: Jamal Rule, he was nowhere to be found in the
- 26:33Speaker 2: third quarter. I'm with everybody that, yeah, I would love
- 26:36Speaker 2: to see 2-5 in the backfield. But you look at
- 26:38Speaker 2: the first set of downs in the third quarter, we
- 26:40Speaker 2: get a first down. Second set of downs, we get
- 26:42Speaker 2: a first down. I want to say we had four
- 26:44Speaker 2: running plays in those two first sets of downs. The
- 26:46Speaker 2: third set of downs, it's third and six. Holgerson dials
- 26:49Speaker 2: up a screen. The screen is there. O'Lyman missed a block.
- 26:53Speaker 2: Number seven, hell of a ballplayer, salty ballplayer. He's the
- 26:57Speaker 2: one who had to pick six. He slipped a block
- 26:59Speaker 2: and ended up making the play. But if we hit
- 27:01Speaker 2: him whatsoever... we're off to the races. We're getting a
- 27:05Speaker 2: first down. You might score, you might not. Yeah, possible explosive.
- 27:09Speaker 2: All of the plays are there. It's not like a
- 27:12Speaker 2: lack of coaching. People talk about situations. Yeah, there's going
- 27:15Speaker 2: to be some that we want back to where as
- 27:17Speaker 2: coaches you look and you're like, okay, we have to
- 27:19Speaker 2: do a much better job in the operation at this standpoint.
- 27:22Speaker 2: But I just, I don't see all of these coaching
- 27:26Speaker 2: woes where everybody's like, we have to fire Coach Rule.
- 27:28Speaker 2: We have to fire Hogerson. I will say it does
- 27:32Speaker 2: feel like the staff is under a microscope for the
- 27:34Speaker 2: rest of the season because we just, you keep losing
- 27:38Speaker 2: like that. I have no clue. I have no clue
- 27:41Speaker 2: other than just, you can put any team, it could
- 27:44Speaker 2: be Georgia. We could play Georgia on Saturday night. We're
- 27:48Speaker 2: going to be up seven to three and we're going
- 27:50Speaker 2: to have the game and we're going to lose the game. Mm-hmm.
- 27:53Speaker 2: Like any team, you can line up any team. The
- 27:54Speaker 2: same thing's going to happen. The same thing's going to happen, Taylor.
- 27:59Speaker 2: I don't know. To me, in the meeting room, The
- 28:05Speaker 2: problems in this room and also the answers in this room. Like,
- 28:08Speaker 2: they are good enough. This team is fucking good enough.
- 28:12Speaker 2: And Calandra, he played a bad game. He signed his extension.
- 28:15Speaker 2: He played a bad game. And I hate the fact,
- 28:18Speaker 2: I hate the semantics. I get where he's at. You
- 28:20Speaker 2: don't want to fucking be bothered. You're pissed at yourself.
- 28:23Speaker 2: You're pissed you lost the game. But you got to
- 28:25Speaker 2: go up to the podium. Yeah. Because Luke Lindenmeyer, he's
- 28:28Speaker 2: up there at the podium. He stopped on a route.
- 28:30Speaker 2: That pick six, they're running all go. And number three
- 28:35Speaker 2: on the right is wide open. But Calandra throws it here.
- 28:39Speaker 2: Luke stops on the route. And Luke is up there.
- 28:41Speaker 2: He's holding back tears and emotion. He's taken a sword
- 28:45Speaker 2: to the neck because he has no explanation. Like, yes,
- 28:48Speaker 2: sometimes I guess that happens. People are like, oh, it's
- 28:50Speaker 2: the coach. Man, I feel him when he's up there
- 28:52Speaker 2: on the podium talking about, I don't know what to say.
- 28:55Speaker 2: I don't know why I stopped. I have no clue.
- 28:58Speaker 2: And he's like fighting back emotions from it. And Calandria
- 29:01Speaker 2: doesn't show up at the presser. Yeah. You can't leave
- 29:03Speaker 2: your boy out like that.
- 29:04Speaker 1: No doubt team game.
- 29:08Speaker 3: God.
- 29:08Speaker 1: Can I tell you something?
- 29:09Speaker 2: I don't know, fellas. And our receivers too. Like Calandria
- 29:14Speaker 2: had three picks. There are balls. There are 50-50 balls
- 29:19Speaker 2: that Quasi and Jacory are able to make. Like, hey,
- 29:24Speaker 2: you're a wide receiver one. This ball's up. You have
- 29:27Speaker 2: an opportunity to catch one. Bro, you're getting paid whatever
- 29:30Speaker 2: amount of money. This is a guy. You want to
- 29:32Speaker 2: play in the NFL? That guy catches the ball. Yeah,
- 29:35Speaker 2: You know what I mean? Yes. And like the ball
- 29:36Speaker 2: that sailed, that was picked in the red zone on clanger.
- 29:39Speaker 2: We had like a 10 play drive or something like that.
- 29:41Speaker 2: And he kind of sales when it's a little high,
- 29:43Speaker 2: but I'm sitting there watching and feeling like we slowed
- 29:46Speaker 2: down a little bit on the route. We're ended up
- 29:47Speaker 2: looking back at the defender versus I want strain to
- 29:51Speaker 2: get to the ball. Yes. So I'm saying a bunch
- 29:55Speaker 2: of shit right now. To me, it's like people talk
- 29:57Speaker 2: about the coaching. People talk about it's the culture. It's
- 29:59Speaker 2: the leisure. Bro, this team can win. This team is
- 30:05Speaker 2: fucking good enough, man. And it's like, I don't know.
- 30:07Speaker 2: If I'm a player sitting there watching, you feel like
- 30:10Speaker 2: you're letting... the staff down, everybody coming at rule, everybody
- 30:13Speaker 2: coming to Holgerson. If you're an offensive player, everybody coming at,
- 30:16Speaker 2: you know, all these people that are in charge and
- 30:18Speaker 2: your leadership, like me as a player, I'd be like, man,
- 30:20Speaker 2: we are fucking letting them down, bro. Because we can,
- 30:24Speaker 2: you sit there and watch a film. We can fucking win.
- 30:27Speaker 2: There's a first down celebration. Like right here, Taylor, we
- 30:34Speaker 2: get down to the five yard line. We get a
- 30:36Speaker 2: delay a game.
- 30:37Speaker 1: This is where, so just that situation right there is
- 30:40Speaker 1: Calandra's made so much hay by doing these off-schedule, heroic-type plays,
- 30:46Speaker 1: and this is a situation where just run it about,
- 30:49Speaker 1: or just throw it away, or do something. Because that's
- 30:52Speaker 1: clearly a run play right there.
- 30:53Speaker 2: Calandra is a gamer in such a way that I
- 30:55Speaker 2: feel like he defaults to gamer mode before... What's the
- 30:58Speaker 2: defense giving me? Yeah. Like he's good enough, but sometimes
- 31:02Speaker 2: I feel like he puts so much on, I'm going
- 31:04Speaker 2: to win this fucking game. He just goes into gamer
- 31:06Speaker 2: mode versus like, bro, this dude's open. Like, just wait
- 31:09Speaker 2: for another second. Scan, go through your progression. Be like, okay,
- 31:13Speaker 2: this is going to be my first read. If that's
- 31:14Speaker 2: not there, I'm going to go to my next one.
- 31:17Speaker 2: Because this play, like, we get down, right? We're on
- 31:19Speaker 2: the five-yard line. We get a delay a game. Like,
- 31:21Speaker 2: as a staff, you're sitting there. We should have called
- 31:23Speaker 2: a timeout. I'm sitting there on the TV thinking, where's
- 31:26Speaker 2: our whole second to get to the delay a game?
- 31:28Speaker 2: I felt like they called it a little too quick.
- 31:29Speaker 2: But that's just me bitching at the screen. But so
- 31:33Speaker 2: then we get backed up. We're on, like, the 10-yard line.
- 31:37Speaker 2: Incomplete pass. Incomplete pass. And we get to, maybe we ran,
- 31:42Speaker 2: I don't know, but it's third down. And we're in empty.
- 31:45Speaker 2: And the concept is we're running a stick route. So
- 31:48Speaker 2: it's stick, and I think it's mixed with a draw.
- 31:50Speaker 2: Because the linemen aren't leaving to go to the next level,
- 31:52Speaker 2: but they all kind of short set to block in
- 31:54Speaker 2: case Calandria wants to take off. When you're watching that,
- 31:58Speaker 2: it seemed like, in my head, Calandria just had in
- 32:00Speaker 2: his mind that he was just going to go win
- 32:02Speaker 2: this game or go score a touchdown. So he thought,
- 32:04Speaker 2: I'm going to go draw first. Because he's looking to
- 32:07Speaker 2: the left like, Luke is... you fucking pelt that in
- 32:12Speaker 2: on the stick route. Right. Like he's looking, but you
- 32:14Speaker 2: can just tell his feet was already telling him, I'm
- 32:16Speaker 2: going to end up running on this play. And then
- 32:18Speaker 2: he's like, oh fuck, and now I need to throw
- 32:19Speaker 2: the ball. Oh fuck, we're also running a draw so
- 32:21Speaker 2: there can be alignment down here.
- 32:22Speaker 1: Can you play that play back for me while I
- 32:23Speaker 1: was talking? Sorry, I don't want to interrupt you. I'm
- 32:25Speaker 1: really trying to figure out what this play is because
- 32:26Speaker 1: it looks like draw. But he runs so quickly that
- 32:31Speaker 1: maybe it's not, and they're just tracking.
- 32:33Speaker 2: Offensively, if you see the whole picture, it's a stick concept.
- 32:36Speaker 4: Okay.
- 32:36Speaker 2: They're running a stick concept. So, Luke, they're all right there.
- 32:39Speaker 2: He can decide to throw it. He can decide to run.
- 32:42Speaker 2: And then we miss a 30. We miss a chip shot. Yeah. Oh,
- 32:45Speaker 2: my God, bro. The stuff I was saying about these kids, man.
- 32:50Speaker 1: Just sickening, huh?
- 32:51Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because if we make the field goals,
- 32:53Speaker 2: we're still playing Indiana and OT right now. We make
- 32:56Speaker 2: that one before halftime. Yeah. We miss that one, bro.
- 32:58Speaker 3: We.
- 32:59Speaker 2: We make that when you're up 10-3. It's just, bro,
- 33:02Speaker 2: it is brutal. And then defensively, people are like, okay,
- 33:05Speaker 2: we blew. We gave up a fourth and 18. When
- 33:07Speaker 2: you're in that defensive room, like if I'm the coordinator,
- 33:11Speaker 2: or even as a player, you're sitting there on fourth
- 33:14Speaker 2: and 18. I forget exactly what coverage we're in, but
- 33:17Speaker 2: we're essentially in man. And just like the Oregon game,
- 33:21Speaker 2: we're a strip sack away from icing that game. He
- 33:23Speaker 2: just misses. and he uh q throws it up but
- 33:27Speaker 2: the guy on the outside number eight he runs like
- 33:29Speaker 2: a double move like hitches up around six yards and
- 33:31Speaker 2: then go the corner bites on the six yard it's
- 33:35Speaker 2: fourth and 18 it's not fourth and six.
- 33:38Speaker 1: Right so you're not at the sticks there right he's.
- 33:40Speaker 2: Still in position to make the play but why are
- 33:42Speaker 2: we running up on a hitch route and guys this
- 33:45Speaker 2: is like i know people clipped last week about the
- 33:48Speaker 2: frustrations with huskers i know husker fans are watching and
- 33:51Speaker 2: hearing the the frustration. I'm just, dude, I'm sitting here
- 33:54Speaker 2: and it's like, bro, we are fucking better than this.
- 33:57Speaker 7: Okay.
- 33:57Speaker 2: If we're better than this, then it's on the coaches. Like, no,
- 33:59Speaker 2: I'm not even saying that. I'm like, these players even
- 34:01Speaker 2: fucking know he should be telling himself.
- 34:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 34:03Speaker 2: Why are you jumping up on that? On that hitch? Yeah.
- 34:07Speaker 2: Still in position. Dude makes a hell of a play.
- 34:10Speaker 2: And then when rule, it's like this to me, like
- 34:12Speaker 2: I haven't reached out to nobody. I haven't talked to nobody,
- 34:14Speaker 2: but when rules take a full accountability for sending a
- 34:16Speaker 2: corner blitz on the one that they ended up scoring
- 34:18Speaker 2: on two plays later, it's like, I'm like, yeah, You know, why?
- 34:22Speaker 2: Orch has been calling a hell of a game. And
- 34:25Speaker 2: you're sending our best corner, arguably the best cover corner
- 34:28Speaker 2: in the league right now.
- 34:28Speaker 1: Was it McDuffie?
- 34:30Speaker 2: Andrew Marshall.
- 34:31Speaker 1: I thought McDougal.
- 34:33Speaker 2: Andrew Marshall's the one who blitzed. McDougal might have been, yeah,
- 34:36Speaker 2: he was. You said best corner. I was assuming it
- 34:38Speaker 2: was McDougal. But they sent him on a blitz and
- 34:41Speaker 2: as a safety, like whether or not coach gets in
- 34:43Speaker 2: and you have a play call, if it's the wrong
- 34:46Speaker 2: call and you're all right, like you can still be right.
- 34:48Speaker 2: But the minute, go back, go back. If you're that safety,
- 34:53Speaker 2: when you're talking details and everything else, go to the
- 34:56Speaker 2: start of the play where he's lined up up top.
- 34:59Speaker 1: What play are you looking for?
- 35:00Speaker 2: This one right here, the corner blitz. Right there. Stop.
- 35:06Speaker 2: Pause it. Pause it. Pause it. Okay, right now we
- 35:09Speaker 2: got a cat blitz going on. The minute Andrew Marshall
- 35:12Speaker 2: tips his hat to start going, because he didn't time
- 35:15Speaker 2: it perfectly. He's a little early. But as a safety,
- 35:19Speaker 2: the minute he starts to go, the gig's up. It's
- 35:22Speaker 2: not like the core is going to come there and
- 35:23Speaker 2: then come back in the cover. You got to start
- 35:26Speaker 2: gaining some ground because he sits back there now playing out.
- 35:29Speaker 2: He's six back there, and it's just too late. That's
- 35:32Speaker 2: a lot of space. Do you want him to make
- 35:33Speaker 2: the tackle? Yeah, that's a tough fucking tackle to make.
- 35:36Speaker 2: But the safety has to help himself. The minute your
- 35:38Speaker 2: corner goes, you've got to start gaining ground. Yes. And
- 35:41Speaker 2: people can argue that's a bad call. Rule should not
- 35:44Speaker 2: have gotten his ear. We can all agree on that.
- 35:47Speaker 2: But this play happens when you're coaching the play. Defensively,
- 35:50Speaker 2: this defense, they're detailed. They're good enough to know this stuff.
- 35:54Speaker 2: Once that happens, you've got to start gaining ground on
- 35:55Speaker 2: the receiver.
- 35:58Speaker 1: Yeah, the— I don't know defense, clearly, as close to
- 36:02Speaker 1: as well as you do, but why does that safety
- 36:04Speaker 1: need to run down? What if it's a deep throw?
- 36:06Speaker 2: He doesn't need to run down, but he needs to
- 36:08Speaker 2: start creeping.
- 36:10Speaker 1: He needs to cap over the receiver, right?
- 36:11Speaker 2: Because a lot of these.
- 36:12Speaker 1: They're doing a good job of showing... I mean, that
- 36:14Speaker 1: safety is very much in the middle of the field,
- 36:16Speaker 1: but he's not showing the blitz. Because a lot of
- 36:19Speaker 1: times when those corners are pressed... And the guy's clearly
- 36:23Speaker 1: right over the top of the receiver. For me, as
- 36:24Speaker 1: an offensive lineman, it's like, oh, this guy's coming. Because
- 36:26Speaker 1: the guy behind him has him. He's enough towards the
- 36:29Speaker 1: hash draw. I would think to myself as an offensive lineman,
- 36:31Speaker 1: maybe that corner's not coming. and he's just trying to
- 36:33Speaker 1: bring the fight to him at the line of scrimmage.
- 36:35Speaker 2: But the part where he starts sprinting down the line
- 36:39Speaker 2: of scrimmage, the receiver right there, you can tell they're taught, hey,
- 36:42Speaker 2: that cat blitz is coming. He kind of just steps
- 36:44Speaker 2: back and shovels to get the ball. Yeah, you got
- 36:46Speaker 2: to attack. Just as a safety, you just got to
- 36:48Speaker 2: start gaining ground, so that way you have about one
- 36:50Speaker 2: yard of space versus three yards of space.
- 36:52Speaker 1: And the thing is like, you love to obviously get
- 36:56Speaker 1: them down in bounds, all the things, but just hold
- 36:59Speaker 1: them up, falling off the diving board like that. It's like,
- 37:03Speaker 1: why are you in a hurry to make that tackle?
- 37:04Speaker 2: No doubt, just as a defender, like those are fucking situations.
- 37:08Speaker 2: Panic modes. It's like panic, but also you're just like,
- 37:12Speaker 2: all right, gather yourself and you're trying to take the shot,
- 37:14Speaker 2: but you're also sitting on your heels a little bit. Right.
- 37:16Speaker 2: Being out there on an island tackling a space is
- 37:18Speaker 2: a dangerous game once they see you too.
- 37:20Speaker 1: I have a second and 10, right? they're on this one. They're,
- 37:24Speaker 1: they're most likely going to get points on the board.
- 37:26Speaker 1: Why would you not just run up, hold space, play
- 37:28Speaker 1: basketball at the gate? Cause you know, you have 10
- 37:31Speaker 1: other guys that are running to that spot right now.
- 37:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:35Speaker 1: But listen, you're right. Like all the things you're saying,
- 37:37Speaker 1: like I default to you. I'm just thinking about what, what,
- 37:40Speaker 1: like what would I think to do in the situation
- 37:42Speaker 1: without ever playing the position?
- 37:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 37:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:45Speaker 1: All to be said. clearly a lot of frustration. This
- 37:48Speaker 1: is the most I've heard you be critical publicly, but
- 37:51Speaker 1: even in your criticism, you're not pointing the finger at
- 37:53Speaker 1: one specific individual or side of the ball or anything
- 37:56Speaker 1: like that.
- 37:57Speaker 2: No, not at all, dude. Cause it's like, I was
- 37:59Speaker 2: so frustrated to where I'm seeing all this stuff on
- 38:02Speaker 2: X and everything else. Like dude, fans are throwing shit
- 38:04Speaker 2: on the field. Like that, like that, that's out of
- 38:07Speaker 2: character for Nebraska. Yes. That's out of character. Like it
- 38:10Speaker 2: was an incredible fucking atmosphere. And I'm so frustrated that,
- 38:15Speaker 2: you know, I sleep on it. I'm like, I have
- 38:17Speaker 2: to watch. Like, I got to fucking watch every snap.
- 38:19Speaker 2: Because you start buying into all the things that are
- 38:23Speaker 2: being said going on. Oh, it's Rule or it's Holgerson.
- 38:25Speaker 2: And I'm like, Holgerson? Maybe he is a little past
- 38:28Speaker 2: his time. Like, okay, I can see what somebody's saying.
- 38:30Speaker 2: Maybe he's a little older to where it's like he
- 38:32Speaker 2: almost doesn't give as much of a fuck. But then
- 38:34Speaker 2: you catch yourself. And then I go and watch it.
- 38:36Speaker 2: And I'm like, bro, we're moving the ball. And the
- 38:38Speaker 2: plays are fucking there.
- 38:39Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 38:40Speaker 2: And some of these guys, it's like, you got to
- 38:42Speaker 2: make the goddamn play. Yeah. Yes.
- 38:46Speaker 1: And Matt Rule said that he was the one that
- 38:48Speaker 1: vetoed and said they didn't take.
- 38:49Speaker 2: The corner cut. Yeah, he said that one was 100%
- 38:51Speaker 2: on him. He got in the headset and told him
- 38:53Speaker 2: to send the corner there. Yeah, that one's tough. Like,
- 38:57Speaker 2: there's no... Or something to say. Like, Orich, he's been
- 39:01Speaker 2: a beast. Like, defense played their goddamn ass off, bro. God,
- 39:05Speaker 2: this fucking last drive.
- 39:07Speaker 1: The thing that I just don't understand... is Washington has
- 39:12Speaker 1: just been probably the most disappointing team in the Big
- 39:15Speaker 1: Ten this year. I don't understand this game. Oregon, it's
- 39:20Speaker 1: like the fourth quarter again. And then Indiana, at what point.
- 39:23Speaker 2: Do you get over the hump?
- 39:24Speaker 1: And how do you get over the hump? Because clearly
- 39:27Speaker 1: there's like some sort of like force field, not allowing
- 39:32Speaker 1: you guys to just take the next step as a program.
- 39:34Speaker 1: It just feels, it feels almost mythological. It's taking place.
- 39:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 39:38Speaker 2: I dude, I know this is where I am speechless.
- 39:43Speaker 2: I'm just like, I don't, I don't fucking know. Yeah. Like,
- 39:48Speaker 2: I can go and look at every play and just
- 39:50Speaker 2: tell you about what I'm seeing. Yeah. Like, to me,
- 39:52Speaker 2: it's like, you know, it's the boys staying together, right?
- 39:57Speaker 2: Because you've had three fucking bad back-to-back-to-back losses in the
- 40:01Speaker 2: same fashion that's dated back to the Old Testament. And it's...
- 40:07Speaker 2: If it's me, it's almost like let's put it all
- 40:10Speaker 2: up in front of everybody. Let's just get this boogeyman
- 40:14Speaker 2: that we all see on the outside, all the external noise.
- 40:16Speaker 2: Let's put it up on wall. Like, hey, Cleanser, this
- 40:19Speaker 2: is what they're saying about you. Receivers, this is what
- 40:20Speaker 2: they're saying about you. Backfield, O-line, defense, fourth quarter moments, rule, Holgerson,
- 40:27Speaker 2: just everybody. Like, let's get it out there. This is
- 40:29Speaker 2: what people think. Like, we're going to come out and
- 40:30Speaker 2: we're going to have an edge about us going into
- 40:32Speaker 2: Illinois because this is going to be a tough spot
- 40:33Speaker 2: going into Illinois. Mm-hmm. If you carry all that weight,
- 40:36Speaker 2: all that stress, all that pressure, you sat on it
- 40:38Speaker 2: for 48 hours. You come in with your shoulders down
- 40:40Speaker 2: a little bit. It's like, no, man. Hey, this is
- 40:43Speaker 2: what they're fucking saying. And we know what we have
- 40:45Speaker 2: in here. It's just about playing with the fucking edge.
- 40:48Speaker 2: Kind of getting like a fuck you mentality. Cause you
- 40:51Speaker 2: have to, to get out of this slump. Cause the
- 40:53Speaker 2: team is good enough, man. People are like, you know, people,
- 40:57Speaker 2: I am delusional, but I am, I'm watching and this
- 40:59Speaker 2: team is fucking good enough.
- 41:00Speaker 4: Right.
- 41:01Speaker 1: You're delusional in the sense that we've heard this for
- 41:04Speaker 1: so many years. And all of us sit back in
- 41:07Speaker 1: years past and go, we've got to let Will do
- 41:09Speaker 1: his thing.
- 41:09Speaker 2: Yeah, we're delusional with Frost. Let's let Will, yeah. A
- 41:13Speaker 2: little delusional. You were not delusional with Frost. You knew
- 41:16Speaker 2: with Frost.
- 41:17Speaker 1: But I felt like, at least this is my opinion,
- 41:20Speaker 1: I think you knew that Frost was not the guy
- 41:22Speaker 1: for the team. However, you're not going to be the
- 41:23Speaker 1: guy that says Frost is not the guy for the
- 41:25Speaker 1: team publicly. You're going to support Nebraska publicly. Until things happen.
- 41:28Speaker 1: And then you're going to sit back and be like,
- 41:29Speaker 1: can't wait to find the next guy. Because there's nothing
- 41:32Speaker 1: good about possibly the most influential Nebraska alumni saying something
- 41:37Speaker 1: about the team negatively when the noise is already loud negatively.
- 41:40Speaker 1: That's sheep stuff.
- 41:42Speaker 2: You know, like I found the optimism is like, okay,
- 41:45Speaker 2: if Scott's the guy, when we went three and nine,
- 41:48Speaker 2: literally every game we lost was one score. So it's like, okay,
- 41:51Speaker 2: maybe Frost will get it right. then you fucking have
- 41:53Speaker 2: that onside kick and international soil against Northwestern. It's like,
- 41:56Speaker 2: what the fuck?
- 41:58Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 41:58Speaker 1: No, I'm with you on all that, dude.
- 42:00Speaker 2: I'm with you on all that.
- 42:02Speaker 1: I do love the idea of just having it all
- 42:05Speaker 1: up because people want to ignore the noise. But if
- 42:07Speaker 1: we've learned anything from the Saban documentary, it's like Nick
- 42:09Speaker 1: Saban used the press conferences to talk to his team,
- 42:12Speaker 1: to allow the noise to enter him while also saying,
- 42:14Speaker 1: we don't allow the rat poison to take place. Because
- 42:17Speaker 1: if Matt Rule stands up and he's like, we're going
- 42:19Speaker 1: to ignore our team, blah, blah, blah, all those things
- 42:22Speaker 1: will be It'll be the same thing, just a different week.
- 42:25Speaker 1: By putting all the things out, like putting out mean
- 42:27Speaker 1: things about Calandria, showing that just the small sample size
- 42:30Speaker 1: I have of Calandria in that tunnel and him pointing
- 42:32Speaker 1: to you on the field, he's going to take that
- 42:34Speaker 1: shit and be like, no, no, no, fuck everybody else.
- 42:37Speaker 2: He's a gamer. He's just got to calm the fuck down.
- 42:40Speaker 1: And he needs to go to the podium every single
- 42:43Speaker 1: time you're the quarterback. That's how it is. Okay, we
- 42:45Speaker 1: don't have a whole lot of time because we have...
- 42:48Speaker 1: We have Sean Ryan coming in in, what, 15 minutes?
- 42:51Speaker 2: Like less, but I'm even.
- 42:54Speaker 1: Okay, in about less than 15 minutes, Michigan holds on
- 42:57Speaker 1: against Rutgers. The fact that I even have to read
- 42:58Speaker 1: the sentence, Michigan holds on versus Rutgers, is just fucking
- 43:03Speaker 1: crazy to me. It's just crazy to me. Tommy Carr
- 43:06Speaker 1: played a great game. I thought he did good. He
- 43:09Speaker 1: made good choices when the throws weren't there. He checked
- 43:11Speaker 1: it down. He was smart with the football. We had
- 43:12Speaker 1: zero turnovers. There needs to be a serious reckoning or
- 43:19Speaker 1: look in the mirror situation with the offensive line, the
- 43:21Speaker 1: way they play in that game. Wasn't good enough. That's
- 43:24Speaker 1: how it is. The defense had two explosive plays. That's
- 43:28Speaker 1: how they got two of those touchdowns, which is just
- 43:31Speaker 1: really tough. Overall, listen, we don't have the time to
- 43:35Speaker 1: break down Michigan. We don't have the time to break
- 43:36Speaker 1: down Michigan. It's Michigan State week. Coach doesn't understand that
- 43:39Speaker 1: it's a big rivalry game, but he knows it's the
- 43:40Speaker 1: second most important rivalry game. However, Bob Chesney looks great
- 43:43Speaker 1: in yellow and blue. Okay, Iowa dominates Wisconsin.
- 43:47Speaker 2: Hell yeah.
- 43:49Speaker 1: Shout out to Hawkeyes.
- 43:50Speaker 2: Do Wisconsin. I... That was crazy. Yeah. Like beating USC
- 43:56Speaker 2: 24-7 and then going and laying an egg.
- 43:58Speaker 1: That's where you brought up to JP about South Carolina.
- 44:01Speaker 1: Like that has been the entire season for everybody is
- 44:05Speaker 1: you win a big game and then you go shit
- 44:06Speaker 1: down your leg the next game. But Iowa, I mean,
- 44:09Speaker 1: they were operating on all cylinders. I never expected them
- 44:11Speaker 1: to even, either team to score, both teams, the total
- 44:15Speaker 1: to be over 30 or even at 30. But the
- 44:17Speaker 1: fact that they went out and did what they did,
- 44:19Speaker 1: they just, Iowa again, but with some throw-ins.
- 44:21Speaker 2: Yeah, Iowa's going to be fighting for a spot here
- 44:23Speaker 2: at the end.
- 44:24Speaker 4: Yeah, how is every team in the Big Ten just
- 44:26Speaker 4: turning into Iowa, but then Iowa is turning into the
- 44:29Speaker 4: most prolific passing offense in the Big Ten? Like, Pink
- 44:33Speaker 4: Brown goes 20-24. Like, everybody else is just Iowa, and
- 44:37Speaker 4: Iowa is not Iowa.
- 44:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 44:39Speaker 5: But Iowa's kind of scary. If they can.
- 44:42Speaker 4: If they can get open that tight end for Iowa, Vonaham,
- 44:45Speaker 4: he's a stud.
- 44:46Speaker 2: Tony Diaz. They got a lot of Dutch cats, dude.
- 44:47Speaker 5: They got a lot of Dutch dudes.
- 44:48Speaker 2: Van Der Zee. Van Der Zee.
- 44:50Speaker 5: Like, they're good.
- 44:51Speaker 4: If they just didn't drop that one against Minnesota, like,
- 44:54Speaker 4: Iowa would be a scary team getting into the playoffs.
- 44:57Speaker 2: Right.
- 44:57Speaker 1: And they just were just the most uncharacteristic version of
- 45:00Speaker 1: themselves against Minnesota.
- 45:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:01Speaker 1: If they just stay who they are and they have
- 45:03Speaker 1: added the passing element to their game, like, Yeah, Iowa
- 45:06Speaker 1: could be a team that's like, oh, shit, Iowa. We
- 45:08Speaker 1: could be sitting in the middle of December like, Iowa's
- 45:10Speaker 1: still in it?
- 45:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 45:11Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 45:12Speaker 1: Oregon, back in the win column against Northwestern. I mean,
- 45:16Speaker 1: Dan Lanning.
- 45:17Speaker 2: Talk about a culture guy. Dan Lanning had a few
- 45:19Speaker 2: words for old Chip Kelly after the game. I don't
- 45:21Speaker 2: know what was whispered in the ear, but they had
- 45:23Speaker 2: a convo.
- 45:24Speaker 1: What'd he say?
- 45:25Speaker 2: Who knows? Hey, we got a home for you. We
- 45:27Speaker 2: just OC parted ways. I'll talk to you after the season.
- 45:30Speaker 1: Talk to you after the season a little bit, huh?
- 45:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know. All right, Big 12. Big 12.
- 45:35Speaker 1: This is another sentence that's crazy. It might be better
- 45:37Speaker 1: than the Big Ten. Canada can't argue with it right now,
- 45:41Speaker 1: can we?
- 45:42Speaker 2: No. Texas Tech, huge win over Arizona.
- 45:46Speaker 1: And shout out Castellanos coming in and handling business, dude.
- 45:50Speaker 1: He adds an extra element to their offense that puts
- 45:54Speaker 1: you back in the category of like, oh, Texas... Because
- 45:56Speaker 1: they have all the pieces. It's really been no disrespect
- 45:58Speaker 1: to Will Hammond, but Will Hammond has held them back
- 46:00Speaker 1: in a lot of ways. With that roster, that money,
- 46:03Speaker 1: all that stuff, like... to take on in their defense
- 46:05Speaker 1: to hold Arizona to 26. The only other game they
- 46:08Speaker 1: haven't scored 34 points in is BYU. So shout out
- 46:11Speaker 1: Texas Tech in that. Utah... Buddy, I'm just telling you, Utah, now.
- 46:15Speaker 3: Hey.
- 46:16Speaker 2: This is a ball club.
- 46:17Speaker 1: If you remember, I took the under in this game.
- 46:20Speaker 2: I was like, let down spot for both teams.
- 46:23Speaker 1: I want to say, what was.
- 46:25Speaker 2: It, 42? 49-25.
- 46:25Speaker 5: It was 42-6 at halftime.
- 46:26Speaker 2: At halftime.
- 46:27Speaker 5: We're texting like.
- 46:28Speaker 2: I was like, I need it all to stall. Will's
- 46:30Speaker 2: just like, what is Scali doing? Put in the backup.
- 46:33Speaker 2: Stall this game out, man. I want the third string
- 46:36Speaker 2: out there, man.
- 46:37Speaker 1: Uh, and it's all, it's a, just a come to
- 46:39Speaker 1: Jesus moment for Utah this week, dude. Cause they're playing BYU,
- 46:43Speaker 1: both teams right here. BYU escapes Arizona state. It's kind
- 46:47Speaker 1: of similar to me as like Notre Dame in Miami
- 46:49Speaker 1: this weekend, where it's like, everyone's just trying to get
- 46:52Speaker 1: to their next game. Cause this, this week coming up,
- 46:54Speaker 1: it's crazy. You can kind of throw these games out
- 46:55Speaker 1: the window, but Utah just continues to do Utah things.
- 47:00Speaker 1: And the game is at Utah, correct? Holy war team.
- 47:02Speaker 2: You don't want to play right now. The Baylor Bears.
- 47:09Speaker 2: You fire your head coach, DJ Lagway out there, 319,
- 47:12Speaker 2: four touchdowns, just absolutely boat raced UCF. Obviously, UCF wasn't
- 47:16Speaker 2: a letdown spot. The Baylor Bears, man.
- 47:21Speaker 3: The line going into that game was like one and a.
- 47:23Speaker 5: Half, wasn't it? It was a pick-em.
- 47:24Speaker 2: Yeah. Baylor was like the dog by one and a half,
- 47:27Speaker 2: weren't they? Yeah.
- 47:29Speaker 1: You picked them as your dog of the week.
- 47:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 47:31Speaker 5: Pick money line, though.
- 47:32Speaker 1: ACC. A couple things to note about ACC. Wake Forest,
- 47:37Speaker 1: you're a damn ball club.
- 47:39Speaker 3: Disrespect.
- 47:40Speaker 2: Yeah. Wake Forest. They are unreal.
- 47:43Speaker 1: They are getting hot at the perfect time right now.
- 47:45Speaker 1: I'm so stoked. We have to go to Winston-Salem, meet
- 47:49Speaker 1: the head coach, Dicker, because he is a fucking stud.
- 47:53Speaker 1: Any university would be proud to have that man. I
- 47:56Speaker 1: don't know how Wake Forest keeps.
- 47:57Speaker 2: Him, but... Who pointed it out to me? Dickard's got
- 48:00Speaker 2: the juice, bro.
- 48:02Speaker 1: Coleman was saying when we were doing the segment, the
- 48:04Speaker 1: trick-or-treating segment at Bustin' Paint, anything negative we'd say about
- 48:07Speaker 1: Wake Forest, he would be like putting his thumb down,
- 48:09Speaker 1: like in the background. Like getting the crowd juiced up
- 48:12Speaker 1: about like, he understands the sound bites, the man.
- 48:15Speaker 2: In the darkness, all of it, dude. All of it.
- 48:17Speaker 1: He just seems like he's a guy that is going
- 48:20Speaker 1: to win no matter where he's at. And to win
- 48:22Speaker 1: at Wake Forest is a place that's like, yeah, that's
- 48:25Speaker 1: fucking wild to do that.
- 48:26Speaker 2: Big Dickard energy, dude. Wake Forest, they look like the
- 48:30Speaker 2: toughest team right now in the ACC.
- 48:32Speaker 1: They do. Miami, Bailey beats North Carolina. They get it done.
- 48:37Speaker 1: We can chalk that up to just a letdown spot,
- 48:40Speaker 1: trap game going in. Interesting thought here. So we have
- 48:43Speaker 1: Notre Dame in our ACC category. They're clearly not in
- 48:45Speaker 1: the ACC. Notre Dame has to beat Miami this week.
- 48:54Speaker 1: And if they don't, there should be a serious argument
- 48:56Speaker 1: about them not getting the playoffs. Wisconsin did what Wisconsin
- 48:59Speaker 1: just did. SMU just lost to Syracuse.
- 49:02Speaker 2: Notre Dame's schedule took a hit over the weekend.
- 49:04Speaker 1: Notre Dame's schedule took a hit, and they already had
- 49:06Speaker 1: one of the worst schedules. They had two games. If
- 49:09Speaker 1: Notre Dame does not win this game against Miami, there
- 49:11Speaker 1: is a valid argument to take them out of the playoffs.
- 49:14Speaker 2: It all depends on where the CFP ranking has them.
- 49:17Speaker 1: Tomorrow.
- 49:18Speaker 2: We're recording right now on Monday.
- 49:19Speaker 3: Will wants them in.
- 49:19Speaker 2: They come out tomorrow. No, I'm just saying. You guys
- 49:22Speaker 2: know it's worth it.
- 49:22Speaker 5: You're already actively campaigning.
- 49:24Speaker 2: I'm not actively campaigning.
- 49:26Speaker 5: This is just propaganda. Notre Dame propaganda.
- 49:30Speaker 4: If they lose this game at Miami, I will be
- 49:32Speaker 4: actively campaigning against them.
- 49:34Speaker 1: You lose this game against Miami, your next three games
- 49:36Speaker 1: are Boston College, SMU, and Syracuse. And your biggest win
- 49:40Speaker 1: is Wisconsin, right?
- 49:43Speaker 2: Gross.
- 49:44Speaker 3: Will's so ready just to be like, dude, they need
- 49:46Speaker 3: to be in.
- 49:47Speaker 2: They should be in. I'm not. I'm truly not.
- 49:50Speaker 1: We don't know what's going to happen.
- 49:52Speaker 4: Right.
- 49:53Speaker 1: But if they do lose this game, they're four loss
- 49:59Speaker 1: SEC teams that should be in instead of them.
- 50:01Speaker 2: Thank you. I mean, dude, is that wrong? Four loss
- 50:07Speaker 2: SEC teams?
- 50:09Speaker 1: If I'm looking at, well, a four loss team, if
- 50:11Speaker 1: it was nine and three teams in the SC championship,
- 50:13Speaker 1: they lose a game. So there you go.
- 50:15Speaker 5: If it came.
- 50:16Speaker 4: Down to South Carolina, a three, maybe four loss South Carolina.
- 50:20Speaker 2: It would have to be three loss.
- 50:23Speaker 5: I know it has to be, but for argument's sake.
- 50:26Speaker 1: Who would you rather have in if Notre Dame loses
- 50:30Speaker 1: to Miami? Would you rather have Wake Forest in or
- 50:32Speaker 1: Notre Dame? Wake Forest.
- 50:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I can see Wake Forest getting in over Notre Dame.
- 50:37Speaker 1: Then you should have both the Big 12 teams that
- 50:40Speaker 1: are in the championship. Those teams should be in. As
- 50:43Speaker 1: long as.
- 50:43Speaker 2: They're one-loss Big 12 teams, like playing for the Big
- 50:46Speaker 2: 12 championship.
- 50:47Speaker 1: If you have a two-loss Big 12 team playing in
- 50:50Speaker 1: the championship and they lose, and Notre Dame does not
- 50:53Speaker 1: beat Miami, Notre Dame should not be in.
- 50:55Speaker 2: If the two-loss Big 12 team wins. I'm a Marcus
- 50:57Speaker 2: Freeman fan.
- 50:58Speaker 5: It doesn't matter.
- 50:58Speaker 4: We already saw the Big 12 versus Notre Dame matchup
- 51:00Speaker 4: and they lost. Like, The Big 12, if the Big
- 51:04Speaker 4: 12 team, a two-loss Big 12 team gets snubbed by
- 51:07Speaker 4: a two-loss Notre Dame.
- 51:08Speaker 2: Oh, man.
- 51:09Speaker 1: And if that two-loss team is BYU, they lose. Cancel Christmas.
- 51:14Speaker 2: If BYU is a two-loss regular season team and they
- 51:17Speaker 2: win the Big 12, obviously they should be in. No, no, no.
- 51:20Speaker 4: Say in this situation, BYU is a two-loss team that
- 51:23Speaker 4: doesn't even go to the Big 12 championships.
- 51:25Speaker 2: So Utah wins this weekend. So BYU gets their second loss.
- 51:29Speaker 2: And they go to the Big 12 again against Utah
- 51:30Speaker 2: and lose.
- 51:31Speaker 4: No, let's say they play Texas Tech. Let's say Texas
- 51:33Speaker 4: Tech's a one-loss team. BYU's sitting out of the championship game.
- 51:37Speaker 4: BYU's sitting there with two loss.
- 51:41Speaker 1: Basically, BYU's third in the Big 12.
- 51:43Speaker 2: Yeah, look, if Notre Dame doesn't belong in the playoff,
- 51:46Speaker 2: you're going to hear me say Notre Dame doesn't belong
- 51:47Speaker 2: in the playoff.
- 51:48Speaker 1: That is the first thing you said today?
- 51:49Speaker 2: I don't believe. I told it to Cody. I told
- 51:52Speaker 2: it to Cody two weeks ago. I told it to
- 51:53Speaker 2: him one week ago. Because he's a hater. Oh, no.
- 51:57Speaker 2: I'm rooting for Notre Dame this week. There's anti-Notre Dame
- 51:59Speaker 2: people out there. No, I'm rooting for Notre Dame.
- 52:01Speaker 1: Perspective of, no, we're only, listen, no one here is
- 52:04Speaker 1: anti-Notre Dame unless there's someone you want to identify in
- 52:06Speaker 1: this room. Okay, Cody's an anti-Notre Dame guy.
- 52:09Speaker 2: No, no, no. That's been a point.
- 52:10Speaker 1: All I'm saying, because I'm a Marcus Friedman fan. I'm
- 52:11Speaker 1: a Nick fan. I'm a Kevin fan. I'm all about it.
- 52:14Speaker 1: I'm all about it. But if they don't beat Miami,
- 52:18Speaker 1: they should not be in the playoff. And I think
- 52:21Speaker 1: that is a fair statement. And I bet if you
- 52:23Speaker 1: put a lie detector on Marcus Freeman, he'd say the
- 52:25Speaker 1: same thing.
- 52:26Speaker 2: It depends. What if you lose to Miami by three points?
- 52:30Speaker 2: Miami stays undefeated all year!
- 52:32Speaker 1: Miami's got one of the worst passing defenses in college football.
- 52:35Speaker 1: They're in the hundreds.
- 52:37Speaker 2: Your words! Oh, trust me. I know the weaknesses of Miami.
- 52:41Speaker 2: I'm saying if Miami goes... Their offensive line hasn't been great.
- 52:44Speaker 2: If Miami goes undefeated... they're going to be a one
- 52:48Speaker 2: seed in the college football playoffs. Yes. If BYU wins
- 52:51Speaker 2: out and wins the big 12, they're obviously going to
- 52:54Speaker 2: be a top team in the college football playoff. If
- 52:56Speaker 2: collectively Notre Dame has six points that they've lost to
- 53:00Speaker 2: the number one team in the country and a top
- 53:02Speaker 2: five or six team in the country. I could see,
- 53:05Speaker 2: depending on what the rest of the field does, I
- 53:07Speaker 2: can see a world where Notre Dame is still in.
- 53:09Speaker 2: Is what I'm saying.
- 53:11Speaker 1: Your argument just now is, don't look at our wins,
- 53:14Speaker 1: look at our losses. Because we have two, and they're
- 53:17Speaker 1: the only ranked teams we played.
- 53:19Speaker 2: All I'm saying is, I can see a world.
- 53:21Speaker 1: Like, a team like Tennessee... I'm not saying they should be,
- 53:24Speaker 1: and I'm saying, I can see a world. A team
- 53:26Speaker 1: like Tennessee... the teams you've beaten, Alabama. Alabama probably might
- 53:32Speaker 1: be in the playoffs or could be one of those
- 53:33Speaker 1: 9-3 teams that get snubbed. Should Tennessee get snubbed and
- 53:38Speaker 1: not be in the playoffs so a Notre Dame team
- 53:40Speaker 1: with no ranked wins gets in? The answer to that
- 53:43Speaker 1: question is no. Same thing for Kentucky. Same thing for
- 53:46Speaker 1: a Georgia for it to happen or a South Carolina
- 53:49Speaker 1: or an Ole Miss. All those teams should be in.
- 53:54Speaker 2: Over a Notre Dame who's a two-loss team. You're arguing
- 53:57Speaker 2: in the future right now. All I'm saying is the
- 54:00Speaker 2: fairest guy in the game will have the fair layout
- 54:02Speaker 2: when we get to that point.
- 54:03Speaker 1: Who's the fairest guy in the game?
- 54:04Speaker 2: Your boy. No. Like last year, Notre Dame got snubbed
- 54:08Speaker 2: out of the playoff.
- 54:08Speaker 1: No, they did not.
- 54:09Speaker 2: They did. No, it will.
- 54:12Speaker 1: We don't have time to do this again.
- 54:14Speaker 2: It's the simplest question. Does Miami get in if Virginia
- 54:20Speaker 2: wins the ACC championship? That answer is no. Doesn't matter
- 54:23Speaker 2: if you say head to head and all that other stuff.
- 54:26Speaker 2: If Virginia won the ACC championship last year, Notre Dame
- 54:29Speaker 2: gets in, Miami doesn't.
- 54:31Speaker 1: At Cracker Barrel, we know a thing or two about pancakes.
- 54:34Speaker 1: We've spent generations perfecting the world's best pancakes made with buttermilk.
- 54:38Speaker 1: light and fluffy with signature crisp golden edges. And when
- 54:43Speaker 1: you know what it takes to make the best pancakes,
- 54:45Speaker 1: you know a great pancake when you see it, whether
- 54:47Speaker 1: it's served on a plate or delivered on a football field.
- 54:50Speaker 1: Offensive linemen have been delivering pancake blocks for decades, but
- 54:54Speaker 1: they've never gotten the official statistic recognition. As Chief Pancake
- 54:58Speaker 1: Officer at Cracker Barrel, I am working with offensive linemen
- 55:01Speaker 1: across the country to help define the pancake block and
- 55:04Speaker 1: champion its place in the game. Whether it's the world's
- 55:08Speaker 1: best pancake or the best pancake blocks, we know great
- 55:12Speaker 1: pancakes deserve recognition. Fans can join the movement to make
- 55:16Speaker 1: the pancake block an official stat by signing the petition
- 55:18Speaker 1: at at MakePancakeBlocksOfficial.com. Every pancake eaten will count towards the petition.
- 55:25Speaker 1: Visit your local Cracker Barrel pre, post game days to
- 55:29Speaker 1: join the movement. Also shout out my daughter, Willow. She
- 55:32Speaker 1: loves Cracker Barrel. Took her when we went to Dollywood.
- 55:35Speaker 1: Unbelievable stuff there. Shout out the pancakes and shout.
- 55:37Speaker 3: Out you guys.
- 55:39Speaker 2: Fix of the G6. Hold on.
- 55:40Speaker 1: The last thing I'll say, the difference, the argument is
- 55:43Speaker 1: right now is I'm talking about the future. You're talking
- 55:44Speaker 1: about the past. We've already seen the results.
- 55:46Speaker 2: All I'm saying is I can see a world.
- 55:49Speaker 1: If this happens, then this happens.
- 55:50Speaker 2: You're calling for Notre Dame's head if they lose to Miami.
- 55:53Speaker 2: I'm saying, I don't know. However it plays out, I
- 55:55Speaker 2: can see a world.
- 55:56Speaker 1: Truly, there could be so much chaos.
- 55:57Speaker 2: I can see a world where they're not in. Cody,
- 56:00Speaker 2: fix of the G6. All right.
- 56:04Speaker 5: Went back to the original format. Headlines only.
- 56:08Speaker 3: Oh, nice. Nice.
- 56:35Speaker 4: The North Texas Mean Green have won their last five
- 56:38Speaker 4: games while averaging 51 points and 581 total yards offensively.
- 56:43Speaker 4: With the help of the nation's leading rusher, Jaheim White,
- 56:45Speaker 4: who's already passed the 1,000-yard mark this season. I haven't
- 56:49Speaker 4: seen a North Texas White carry the rock and deliver
- 56:52Speaker 4: stunners like this since the Attitude Era. And the North
- 56:55Speaker 4: Texas White doing it was Stone Cold Steve Austin. Is
- 57:00Speaker 4: the forward pass overrated? Air Force is making that case.
- 57:04Speaker 4: QB Kemper Hodges didn't have a single pass completion but
- 57:07Speaker 4: ran for 200 yards and four TDs versus UConn. Might
- 57:11Speaker 4: start calling him Ed Kemper Hodges the way he's dicing
- 57:13Speaker 4: up defenses and dismembering them. Jared, you can cut that
- 57:18Speaker 4: one if you want. The 0-8 Northern Illinois squad gave
- 57:24Speaker 4: UNLV a scare as NIU QB Talon Dickens started the
- 57:28Speaker 4: game hot, but UNLV made sure the Dickens novel turned
- 57:31Speaker 4: into a Hunter S.
- 57:31Speaker 5: Thompson piece.
- 57:33Speaker 4: As NIU's fear and loathing for their first win continues
- 57:36Speaker 4: after the trip to Las Vegas. Dan Mullen and UNLV's
- 57:39Speaker 4: playoff chances might be gonzo, but they're still alive for
- 57:42Speaker 4: the Mountain West Championship.
- 57:44Speaker 1: Nice.
- 57:47Speaker 4: No fear and loathing in Las Vegas fans, I guess.
- 57:52Speaker 4: Fresno State cornerback Keontre Harris said he wanted all the
- 57:57Speaker 4: smoke from Oregon State superstar Jesse Legree. He stepped up
- 58:01Speaker 4: and they held him to a season-low 70 receiving yards
- 58:04Speaker 4: and got the win. Taylor gave him a shout-out last week.
- 58:07Speaker 4: I did. He wanted all the smoke, but just got
- 58:09Speaker 4: a shout-out from Bussin'. I bet he wishes he got
- 58:12Speaker 4: a shout-out from All the Smoke podcast, which is just
- 58:14Speaker 4: a cooler, more urban version of Bussin' with the Boys.
- 58:19Speaker 4: Where two former professional athletes talk about strippers and marijuana
- 58:23Speaker 4: and not Jeffree Star and Mr.
- 58:24Speaker 3: Hands.
- 58:27Speaker 5: But that's me just making an assumption.
- 58:29Speaker 4: I've never actually listened to it.
- 58:32Speaker 3: That part has to be clipped.
- 58:35Speaker 2: All the smoke one has to be clipped. All the smoke.
- 58:38Speaker 1: That's it.
- 58:39Speaker 2: That's awesome. Fixing the G6. He's out. He's out of here.
- 58:45Speaker 2: All right. Appreciate you guys.
- 58:46Speaker 1: Obviously a lot of passion taking place in the college
- 58:49Speaker 1: football recap, a lot of bit massive games, maybe the
