- Sean Graver: Nobody said good morning to you today. Not out of malice, just because everyone's head was down, moving fast, focused on their own lists. And it got you thinking about how much of workplace culture isn't actually built on policy or mission statements. It's built by whether people look up, say hello, and include each other in small, ordinary ways. And you're wondering. If that's just gotten lost, or if it was always this way, and you're only now noticing. My name is Sean. Welcome back to Prayer Before Work. Jesus makes a surprising claim in Matthew 25, 40 about exactly how small these moments actually are. He says, Truly I say to you, as you did to one of the least of these my brothers. You did it to me. Now he's talking about feeding the hungry and visiting the sick, but the principle underneath it applies here too. The smallest acts of attention toward another person carry more weight than we usually assume. A greeting isn't nothing. Being noticed isn't nothing. Now you can't fix an entire office culture by yourself, and you're not responsible for everyone else's habits. But you are in charge of your own hallway or your own doorway or your own five seconds of eye contact with the person passing by your desk. Say good morning first today. Does someone you'd normally walk past ask a real question and actually wait for the answer? I mean culture shifts slowly, but it shifts through people willing to be the one who Who noticed first. Let's pray. God help us see the people around us instead of just moving past them on autopilot. Give us the awareness to offer small kindness, even on busy days when it would be easier not to. Remind us that noticing someone else matters more than we usually realize. And let our workplace be a little warmer today because we chose to pay attention to someone else. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Go make today count.
