- 0:02Hey, welcome to the City Point Church podcast.
- 0:04Thanks for joining us. Every day is an opportunity to
- 0:07take hold of, so we hope this message inspires you and builds
- 0:11your faith. But it helps you have more of a
- 0:13God perspective for your day. Enjoy God.
- 0:18Is individual. He has a word.
- 0:20For each and every one of us. And do you know that this often
- 0:23happens in discipleship? For some of you in this room.
- 0:26There is the desire that. What just took?
- 0:29Place there for this gorgeous young woman would happen for
- 0:32your life. Do you know that there is access
- 0:36to that? It.
- 0:38Doesn't just happen here, it happens every single day in
- 0:43discipleship relationships. I was thinking about bringing
- 0:47the second part of this message because I know it's been a
- 0:49little while since I brought Part 1 and then randomly did
- 0:53another message in between and people like what is wrong with
- 0:55past Mel part 1's been sitting? There and lingering and where.
- 0:59Is Part 2. I promise it's coming forth
- 1:03today, but I was thinking about it and meditating on God about
- 1:07bringing the second part of this and.
- 1:10I want to share. With you, something I didn't
- 1:12share with you when I brought the first message going from
- 1:15followers to believers. And that is where this.
- 1:20Began for me in the turn of the year from 2024 to 2025.
- 1:26In my time with the Lord. I was journaling as I normally
- 1:31do, or writing down. About something specific in my.
- 1:35Life. Where I got to a place and I've
- 1:40been in this place before, but not to this desperation where I
- 1:45was looking something in the face that I have struggled with
- 1:50most of my life. And I, I was looking at full in
- 1:54the face and I started to ask God, something I've never asked
- 1:59in relation to this thing ever before.
- 2:03I have brought it to him, I've surrendered it to him, I have
- 2:06repented in it. I have laid it at his feet and
- 2:10walked away and yet this thing reoccurs in my life all the
- 2:15time. And at the turn of the year I
- 2:19got spiritually desperate and I said to God, how long?
- 2:28How long Lord, is this going to be a struggle?
- 2:36How long is this going to be the thorn in my son?
- 2:44I'm 44 next week. Thanks for clapping.
- 2:53I'm somewhere in the middle of my life, God willing, 44 years.
- 3:01This is a long. Time to struggle with something.
- 3:05And even as I say that you're going to sit here today, and
- 3:09many of you are. Going to go Uh huh I've been
- 3:12struggling with this thing for 50 for 60-70 years.
- 3:18I don't know what that is. Could be fear, could be a
- 3:21poverty mindset, could be rejection.
- 3:26But I, I hit the turn of the year and I was like, God, I
- 3:30don't believe according to your word that this struggle is
- 3:37supposed to remain a struggle in my life for the next 44 years.
- 3:45I believe your word to be true and that the things that I have
- 3:49found to be the mess and the test are supposed to mature,
- 3:55supposed to have healing, supposed to have breakthrough,
- 4:00and they should become my testimony.
- 4:04Does anybody else in this house have the faith to believe that
- 4:06God can do that with your? Stuff.
- 4:12A beautiful grace that has happened in my family is that I
- 4:17have had the opportunity to witness first hand what the Holy
- 4:23Spirit can do with a life. My mom and dad walked into the
- 4:28House of God as young people, as young adults and gave their
- 4:32hearts to Jesus. First generation believers.
- 4:37Both of them have horrific stories.
- 4:40They could write books, and I know that they mirror so many of
- 4:45the stories. Sitting in seats today.
- 4:49But I have witnessed with my life.
- 4:53I was only sharing this. We had a great conversation with
- 4:55my beautiful mother in love this week, and we were.
- 4:58Marveling. At what God has done in my
- 5:01family, marveling that if you meet my parents today you
- 5:07wouldn't believe what they. 'D come from.
- 5:13You wouldn't. The woman I am today, you
- 5:18wouldn't believe my childhood because she's always had it.
- 5:23She's always done this. She's always had a strength in
- 5:27every area, She's always had a confidence.
- 5:30Do you know when? I was a teenager.
- 5:32I was so not confident. I hated to be called on.
- 5:36The greatest fear I had was to be called on in a classroom to
- 5:40read. My whole body would be overcome
- 5:46with emotions and I couldn't stop shaking.
- 5:48I could never. Get the words out.
- 5:50Look at what God is. Doing with my life.
- 5:59God can transform a life, every life and every life is
- 6:07deserving. Every life.
- 6:09Is worthy. That's a word for somebody.
- 6:12This morning, somebody just just felt in the spirit.
- 6:15Not my life. I'm not worthy of it.
- 6:17Yes, you are. Your identity in Christ is not
- 6:23your You are not responsible for the doing or undoing of it.
- 6:28You are a son or daughter of the Most High God.
- 6:32Do you know you were before? You understood it, Jeremiah,
- 6:41before I formed you in the womb. I knew you before.
- 6:47Before you went. Jesus, I accept you as Lord and
- 6:49Savior. He goes son, daughter, my son.
- 6:54My air, my air, you mightn't understand it yet.
- 6:58But every single one of us have been called sons and daughters
- 7:02and heirs of the Most High God. And.
- 7:08Your story cannot undo that. But discipleship?
- 7:14Can help us understand it. It can help us remind ourselves,
- 7:20as Isaac said today, that we are sons and daughters of the Most
- 7:25High God and be transformed into Christ likeness, which is what
- 7:30God does with our life when we begin to follow him.
- 7:35So Part 2 of this discipleship message today.
- 7:39Is how or. Some of the necessary things.
- 7:43That we've got to step. Into in discipleship because
- 7:46when we are not discipled we miss out on specific things that
- 7:49God. Always.
- 7:50Had as a portion for our lives. In his word, he commissioned his
- 7:56disciples to go out into all the.
- 7:58World and make disciples now. There was a key found there.
- 8:04Those who had been discipled were sent to make disciples.
- 8:10But often in church, because we haven't done this well for the
- 8:14last 2025 years, we set people from believing to mission and
- 8:21say, now go and make disciples. But every single one of us has
- 8:27permission, has access to be transformed by the Spirit of
- 8:33God. This is not a set time.
- 8:36Often he'll begin to work and say OK.
- 8:39Take somebody else on that. Journey with you now.
- 8:41I'll keep doing something in you while you keep.
- 8:44Passing that on. But every single.
- 8:48One of us requires discipleship, and there's beauty found in it.
- 8:53Absolute beauty found in it. The Biblical.
- 8:57Definition of discipleship is this.
- 9:00Discipleship is the intentional spirit.
- 9:04LED process of being. Formed into the image.
- 9:07Of Christ through obedience to His Word.
- 9:11Through intimacy with him in one-on-one investment from
- 9:16someone more spiritually. Mature so we can.
- 9:19Learn to follow Jesus and lead. Others to do the same.
- 9:24When I cried out to God at the beginning of this year, do you
- 9:27know what the Holy Spirit said to me?
- 9:30I want you to go back. And call your disciple.
- 9:35I want you to get wisdom from somebody more spiritually mature
- 9:40than you to walk you through this and see transformation.
- 9:45Because you're right, this was never your.
- 9:48Portion Mel. This is supposed to be your
- 9:50mission. This is part of why I've got you
- 9:54here on planet Earth is to say I have overcome the enemy.
- 10:01I am a victor. This is what the Bible says we
- 10:05are. But I can't be a victor until I
- 10:08have victory in areas of my life.
- 10:13And so I require being walked through this.
- 10:19And this is the gift of discipleship.
- 10:22We cannot be discipled in isolation.
- 10:25True discipleship happens in relationship.
- 10:27Not just with Jesus. But with someone who?
- 10:30Walks. Ahead of you in faith and Jesus.
- 10:34Modelled this so beautifully walking.
- 10:36Closely with his disciples not. Merely teaching them not just
- 10:40this corporate teaching, but up. Close and personal Luke 9 verse
- 10:4623 says whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themself and
- 10:51take up their cross daily and follow me.
- 10:56There is a difference between believing in.
- 10:59Jesus and following Him believing is the beginning of
- 11:03our journey. Maybe you're here today and you
- 11:05made that decision to choose to believe in Jesus Christ last
- 11:09night. It's the best decision you could
- 11:11have made and it is the beginning of a life.
- 11:16That is going to be transformed by the Spirit of God.
- 11:21If you choose today to follow him, believing is the beginning
- 11:27of following is where transformation is found along
- 11:31our journey. So today I want to unpack three
- 11:34final things that we miss when we remain undiscipled as
- 11:39believers. We unpacked 2 in the last
- 11:42message and if you missed that message you can go on to any of
- 11:45our streaming platforms and have a little listen.
- 11:47For I unpacked. Two, that it was significant
- 11:50and. What the state of?
- 11:52Us as believers is like maybe you saw some of those things in
- 11:56your own life that you're like, oh, there are areas there that
- 12:00have not been discipled and so I've.
- 12:02Walked forward. Thinking there's maturity, but
- 12:05there isn't. And I want to mature because
- 12:07that's what God wants for me. Wants every single one of us to
- 12:12come into maturity as believers. I unpacked in the last message
- 12:17very quickly that when we are undisciple, we miss out on the
- 12:22gift of the power of transformation that can take
- 12:25place in our lives. And Jesus didn't just come to
- 12:28forgive our sin. He came to transform our life.
- 12:32The second thing I unpacked. Very quickly is that we?
- 12:35Miss out on the joy of intimacy with Jesus.
- 12:39John. 1515 says I no. Longer call you servants, but
- 12:42instead I've called you. Friends, this is significant
- 12:47discipleship. Brings us close to the heart of
- 12:49God, into friendship and into partnership.
- 12:52With Him, which is significant, disciples are not just.
- 12:55Learning about Jesus they are becoming more like.
- 12:58Him This is what God wants for each and every one of us.
- 13:02And so. I'm going to jump very quickly
- 13:04into the. Final three things.
- 13:07That is so crucial for you and I as a part of our journey with
- 13:11Jesus Christ. And when we are discipled, they
- 13:14are parts and gifts that we. Get to partake in.
- 13:17But when we don't, we miss out on these gifts that God is.
- 13:21Just going this is for you. #3 the point.
- 13:25Three that I'm going to launch with today is that we miss out
- 13:30on the strength found in spiritual maturity when we are
- 13:36undisciple. We miss.
- 13:37Out on the strength found in spiritual maturity.
- 13:40Hebrews. 5 verses. 12 to 14 says this.
- 13:44There's a big word. You ready?
- 13:46Brace yourself. Some need to put a seat belt on.
- 13:49All right, it says this. Hebrews 512 to 14.
- 13:54Though. By this time.
- 13:56You ought to be. Teachers, you need someone to
- 14:01teach you. The elementary truths of God.
- 14:04'S word all over again. This particular scripture is
- 14:09saying to believers of this time, come on by this time.
- 14:16You should be a teacher. Of this you should be
- 14:18discipling. You should be.
- 14:20Passing this on. But you need somebody to take
- 14:25you back and take you through the elementary truths of God's
- 14:29Word all over again. When we are under discipled, we
- 14:33miss out on the strength found in in spiritual maturity.
- 14:38Now here's the wild thing. Physically, we understand this
- 14:45if you are over. 40 in this room.
- 14:49You understand that even though our beautiful youth and young
- 14:54adults are passionate and falling in love with Jesus and
- 14:58reading their words, some of the things that come out of their
- 15:01mouth are young. I just was trying.
- 15:07To find the kindest word. Because stupid isn't something
- 15:10that should. Come off the platform regularly.
- 15:18It's not because they don't have deposits of wisdom from the Holy
- 15:22Spirit sewn in all the time. They do.
- 15:25That's why they do not conform to the patterns of this world.
- 15:27That's why they're sitting here with a passion and a zeal for
- 15:30God, like unlike other people of their generation.
- 15:36That's why there is a purity that has marked this generation
- 15:40and an integrity. But sometimes they go, you know
- 15:44what? I think that this is my next
- 15:46move. And you're like, what?
- 15:50No, no, that's not it. He sounds all right.
- 15:56Not really. Physically, we understand.
- 16:02That we go through a season of our life when we are.
- 16:06Stepping into into independence and.
- 16:09You're supposed to go. Through the season.
- 16:12It's a God-given season, all right when you're.
- 16:16Stepping into independence and learning.
- 16:21Wisdom. While making decisions for your
- 16:25life, while learning revelation in God's Word.
- 16:31We understand this physically and it's what I know it sounds
- 16:34funny. It's why we've got phrases
- 16:37coined like. Do not do they not just use
- 16:40common sense? Right.
- 16:43Do you know? There's no such thing as common
- 16:45sense. It's not common.
- 16:49It's true. But you know, there is actually
- 16:52no such thing as common sense. There is learnt and taught
- 16:58things. Do you know my children are my
- 17:03fault? Come on, scare real in this
- 17:07place. They do as I do and because of
- 17:15their ages. Maybe not with the understanding
- 17:19it. Fully why I.
- 17:21Do as I do. What's huge in that is every
- 17:26single week, somewhere in the life of this church, I teach
- 17:30amazing things from this. And yet, because I am still
- 17:35being discipled and transformed by the Spirit of God, I don't
- 17:38always do exactly what I should do according to this.
- 17:45And so my children are following suit.
- 17:51The reason discipleship is so necessary is because there's no
- 17:54such thing as common sense. Something that the general
- 17:57consensus of people go, that is OK for everyone.
- 18:03That's why our right and wrong measures is different for each
- 18:06and every one of us. Something I deem is that's OK,
- 18:09you go. That's terribly not OK.
- 18:13Right, our young people. And those new to Christ.
- 18:21Don't just require us to be spiritually mature if you have
- 18:24followed the Lord for 10/15/20 years.
- 18:28They need us to grow spiritually mature so they can do as we do.
- 18:36They need us to teach them not just in words and not just in
- 18:39platitudes and not just on Instagram Reels and in messages
- 18:43like this that can go to YouTube and they can access in times of
- 18:46trouble. They need us to follow.
- 18:50God's Word. This is where there will be a
- 18:55unity. Not a common in what we do, but
- 19:01what a God never said to come into common sense, said to come
- 19:05into unity as the body of believers follow Christ, to lay
- 19:12down our crosses and follow Him. This is huge, undisciple
- 19:18believers say, but God knows my heart.
- 19:22Come on, even right now, it's OK to repent or as long as I go to
- 19:29church, I'm good, I'm good. But do you know, there is
- 19:35something that's so dangerous and Pastor John went there
- 19:38before in his generosity moment, There is something that
- 19:46spiritually immature believers say all the time that is
- 19:50massive, massive. And this is not going out to
- 19:54condemn anyone. This is a call, a call to
- 19:58spiritual maturity. This is a call to discipleship,
- 20:02but something that is common when maturity is yet to be
- 20:08formed. Or people are meant to be.
- 20:11Discipled, but maybe it's been undisciple and been left and
- 20:15we've had to scrounge and find this on our own.
- 20:18One of the most common things that believers say is you know,
- 20:22I feel or I know God is telling me I feel God is telling me
- 20:33this. I know God is telling me that.
- 20:38As I've studied my word, I have discovered that even Jesus said
- 20:44is it not written? Last year, the Holy Spirit took
- 21:02me on a journey of unpacking, taking the Lord's name in vain.
- 21:07And I realized the countless times I've done this in my life,
- 21:11where I've gone, I really feel that the Lord God is taking me
- 21:16this way, or I really feel that God is saying this and he's
- 21:22going. I didn't say that you're taking
- 21:25my name in vain. You're using my name as
- 21:28ammunition when you Speaking of people, would you please point
- 21:33them back to my word and tell them what I really said for our
- 21:39life, For those of you here seeking guidance on your next
- 21:43move, your decisions, everything you need to know is found in
- 21:48here. Everything.
- 21:51There is nothing. There is no circumstance that is
- 21:54new, all right, No political debate, no virus, no financial
- 22:02climate, nothing. Nothing has been left
- 22:07unanswered, no relational dynamic, no spiritual force that
- 22:12comes against you. Everything is found in here.
- 22:17Everything. The answer to everything.
- 22:20It's OK to not know where to look.
- 22:23Find an amazing disciple who. Loves to look who loves to find
- 22:29out to go. Let's find the answers in the
- 22:32word of God for what it is that you are walking through.
- 22:35Let's get some God wisdom. So instead of us saying I feel.
- 22:40God is we can go. It's.
- 22:43Written, he has said in his word, This is what it means for
- 22:48my circumstances. This is a powerful thing.
- 22:55You know these statements or these thought?
- 22:57Patterns can sound humble, but. Often they cover up.
- 23:01Spiritual immaturity, true. Maturity, says Lord, grow me
- 23:06when it's hard and show me in your word.
- 23:10Show me in your word. Without discipleship, believers
- 23:13stay spiritually weak and easily.
- 23:16Shaken, facing the same thing over and over and over again.
- 23:24Repeating patterns over and over in our life.
- 23:27If you want to get off the hamster wheel today, this is a
- 23:31word for somebody. If you want to get off the
- 23:34hamster wheel and not do a repeat of the same type of
- 23:38relationship over and over and over and over, or the same
- 23:43dynamic in your workplace over and over and over, the answers
- 23:49are found in transformation through God's Word.
- 23:56Not I feel my feelings leave me in the most ridiculous places.
- 24:05I can tell you I feel all sorts of awesome.
- 24:08Things in shopping centres, all the best things of the hair, all
- 24:15the best things. The good food is there, the
- 24:20stuff is there, feel good when I'm wearing something new and my
- 24:26house has been redone again, all the good stuff is there.
- 24:32And yet. I can still be so.
- 24:36Empty. How long?
- 24:41How long do we go like? This or do we get desperate and
- 24:49say God make this mess my message, make this test, my
- 24:54testimony, a victory and a breakthrough and of growing into
- 25:00spiritual maturity. Spiritual maturity is not
- 25:03measured in years, but in a depth of intimacy with Christ.
- 25:11Remaining undisciple means we're remaining spiritually mature.
- 25:15Spiritual. Infants was hard.
- 25:19They remain vulnerable, tossed around by emotion, culture,
- 25:24situation, circumstance, and temptation.
- 25:28You know, if you're struggling with any of those things today,
- 25:31this is an invitation by the Holy Spirit to go come and be
- 25:35discipled. Come and walk beside somebody
- 25:38who's going to beautifully and gently by the Holy Spirit, show
- 25:44you in God's Word how to be transformed into the likeness of
- 25:50Christ #4 I can see the time. I promise to get you out of here
- 25:56shortly. We miss out on our Kingdom
- 26:00assignment. Do you know, I notice that this
- 26:04is a common thing and has been a common thing in the last 20 to
- 26:0625 years. I said it right at the beginning
- 26:10that we come into a belief of Jesus, we receive salvation, and
- 26:14then we very quickly want to move people on to mission,
- 26:19right? I can tell you in that season,
- 26:22after you've given your heart to Jesus, you can't help but tell
- 26:26people about it, right? Who's experienced that you?
- 26:29Can't help but. Tell people about what?
- 26:32God is doing in your. Life and what happens from that
- 26:36is that people. Follow.
- 26:38And they listen. The harvest is ripe.
- 26:42They're ready to hear what God is doing in your life.
- 26:46And when we first accept Jesus, we do.
- 26:49This. But every single one of us is on
- 26:53planet Earth today. Yes, you who just said not me.
- 26:57Yes, you were each on planet Earth today because God has put
- 27:02you on a today present day for purpose.
- 27:08There is a reason you're here, and it's not for how many people
- 27:13will know you on Instagram. We're going to give you a
- 27:17platform for what God wants to do in your life.
- 27:20He wants to do something in you because He's got something
- 27:23significant for you to do. You're going to leave a mark on
- 27:26planet earth in this time. But to do this, we've got to be
- 27:31discipled. Matthew 2819 says go and make
- 27:36disciples of all nations. Do you know undisciple
- 27:40believers, particularly those who've sat in church for a
- 27:42really long time? They said that's the pastor.
- 27:44'S and leaders job. It's not my job, it's their job.
- 27:53I'm not ready to be used by God now that I have lost that
- 27:58initial fire that happened after giving my.
- 28:02Heart to Jesus. I have been acutely aware that I
- 28:06am not fit for service. These beliefs keep believers.
- 28:13Inactive in God's Kingdom? But every single follower is
- 28:19Commission, not to just receive, but to go.
- 28:23Say I was called to go. I don't believe you.
- 28:27Say it again. I was called to go.
- 28:31You've been commissioned to go. Your calling doesn't just begin
- 28:34when you're ready. It begins when you obey,
- 28:38Dietrich Bonhoeffer says. When Christ calls a man, he bids
- 28:43him to come and die. So encouraging, but it's true.
- 28:52It's what? It's so true, disciples.
- 28:56Lay down comfort for Kingdom they go, they serve, they lead
- 29:02others. Believers consume, followers
- 29:06contribute. Disciples are not just growing
- 29:09personally, they're living missionally.
- 29:13Many believers never step into their calling because they feel
- 29:17like they're not gifted, but it's not true.
- 29:21It's just undisciple. Today, if you're sitting in this
- 29:25auditorium, you do not, you're not aware of, you don't
- 29:28understand the God, the God-given gifts that have been
- 29:30given to you. Please come and see one of the
- 29:32team after the service. Today.
- 29:35Every single one of us has been given incredible spiritual
- 29:39gifts. Do you know, as funny as it
- 29:41sounds, preaching is not one of mine.
- 29:45It's just ludicrous. God's got a really funny sense
- 29:48of humour. OK, It's not in there, all
- 29:52right. Leadership is and evangelism is
- 29:55and. In this.
- 29:56Season. The assignment is to preach it
- 30:00so it changes from season to season what it looks.
- 30:03Like young people in every. Season of your life, your God
- 30:06giving gifts, it'll change. The assignments will change.
- 30:10Just like the assignments change from term to term, God
- 30:12assignments change too. But He will use your God-given
- 30:16gifts. He'll develop them if you're
- 30:20willing to be disciple, He'll cause them to come into
- 30:24maturity. And you'll understand then why
- 30:28He sends certain assignments. This is not just a word for
- 30:32young people today. Maybe you're sitting in this
- 30:34auditorium and you follow Jesus for 30 or 40 years.
- 30:37Or you've understood that He loves you deeply.
- 30:41He's called you to mission today.
- 30:43Every single one of you have been God-given, God-given gifts.
- 30:47If you don't know what they are, you go.
- 30:49I don't know. I definitely Can't Sing like
- 30:51Pastor Rachel, Pastor Rye, when he sings that song with the
- 30:55electric down, it's amazing and it rocks the House of God, No.
- 31:02Maybe a spiritual gift isn't to lead worship, but you've each.
- 31:07Been given gifts? Some of you are sitting there.
- 31:10You've got a whole platter of gifts, and I wonder if you would
- 31:16allow some discipleship to help bring them out and grow them and
- 31:22mature them and get them ready to be used for the Kingdom of
- 31:27God. You don't need a platform.
- 31:30You just need obedience. And finally, as the team comes,
- 31:36the final thing that we miss out on when we're undisciple is that
- 31:40we miss out on the community of accountability and encouragement
- 31:45found in the body of Christ. Acts 2 verses 42 says they
- 31:51devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and to
- 31:54fellowship. Do you know undisciple believers
- 31:57say it's just me and Jesus, I'm good, nobody else can speak, and
- 32:01just Jesus. I don't need discipleship.
- 32:03I've gone this long without it. It's just me and the Holy
- 32:09Spirit. Some don't articulate it, but
- 32:14the attitude behind it is really and truly which comes from a
- 32:18place of spiritual immaturity is I don't like people telling me
- 32:23what to do. Can I tell you something really
- 32:27profound and spiritual today? Nobody does.
- 32:34Or just somebody needs to go and then and lift their hands and
- 32:37receive that. Nobody like that.
- 32:41That's being told what to do. I'm raising 2 toddlers right
- 32:45now. I can tell you with all
- 32:48confidence right from the very start of life, nobody likes to
- 32:53be told what to do. They don't like to be told to
- 32:56put their shoes on. They don't like to be told to
- 32:58eat their breakfast. They don't like to be told to
- 33:00eat that breakfast. And you know what?
- 33:03That same thing continues through our whole life.
- 33:07What's big? That's all ridiculous speed for
- 33:09this road. Why is every single St. 40 now?
- 33:15School zones have gone warm. None of us like it.
- 33:22Do you know what this is actually developing in us?
- 33:27The reason we say to our kids those shoes?
- 33:30In your school uniform, I know. They're not cool.
- 33:34I know they're not on. Trend.
- 33:36It's not so you conform, it's. So that you learn in a safe
- 33:41place how to obey. Right from when they're
- 33:45children. And some.
- 33:47People are receiving this parents today.
- 33:50You got to give your kids a permission and a platform to
- 33:53learn to obey in a safe place when they're young, so that when
- 33:57they're our age, they're OK at obeying.
- 34:02Now, I know that there are circumstances where that has
- 34:05been abused and if that is the. Case where authority or those
- 34:14with permission to lead you have misused that authority, I can
- 34:21tell. You that the Holy Spirit wants
- 34:24to bring healing and restoration there.
- 34:27That was not your portion. That was not God's intent for
- 34:32your life and there can be healing found for you.
- 34:38Release for He heals. The broken hearted binds up
- 34:44their wounds. But from a young age, we have to
- 34:51be OK to let our little ones learn through obedience how to
- 34:57submit to God by submitting and honouring, as Pastor John said,
- 35:03their parents. We have to actually advocate for
- 35:07our teachers. We've got to go.
- 35:13It's it's actually good when they speak in your life and go,
- 35:17there's a due date. And I know that you've got lots
- 35:20going on at home. Everybody does.
- 35:25But it will benefit your life if you obey so that they get to our
- 35:33stage and they can be discipled in the ways of the Lord and go.
- 35:36It's a safe place to go. But what you have thought was
- 35:40God's word isn't actually can I show you in small things like
- 35:48shoes and assignments in school. Now young people are being
- 35:53having something cultivated in their life that is pivotal when
- 35:58we get to this really important stuff.
- 36:04Maybe you've missed out on the gift of discipleship in your
- 36:07life. It's not too late to start maybe
- 36:13over these two messages, if you've heard both, there's been
- 36:17an area, just one of the five that you go.
- 36:19I've missed out on that. I'm missing out on an intimacy
- 36:23with God and I'm not hearing Him like I hear other believers
- 36:27talk. About how God speaks.
- 36:30To them through his word, how he gives them visions, glimpses of
- 36:36the future. And so I fear my future, maybe a
- 36:43missing community, maybe God, I feel.
- 36:45So alone, and I don't have the gift of community, of
- 36:53accountability and encouragement.
- 36:57I feel like I navigate this all the time on my own.
- 37:00And so I'm on a hamster wheel and I face the same stuff every
- 37:04job. There's always a person.
- 37:08There's always a person. God just goes, oh, I want to do
- 37:13something in you, this transformation found for you to
- 37:19help you grow, to help you mature.
- 37:23So this morning I'd love to invite you to step into this.
- 37:29Now you know, what I really love about this church is you're just
- 37:31so in, you're so engaged. So that after the first message,
- 37:36we kind of found out about like 50 people who are like, I'm
- 37:38going to ask my person today. I'm not, I'm not waiting.
- 37:41I don't care that she didn't get the whole message out.
- 37:44I'm engaging in this today. Good on you.
- 37:48That is so brave. It's so.
- 37:50Beautiful. And God's going to.
- 37:52Do something significant through that relationship.
- 37:54I know it. Next year, in 2026, we're going
- 37:59to unpack for both disciples and those being discipled.
- 38:03How to find yourself a disciple? And how to disciple somebody
- 38:10really well. Stay tuned because we're going
- 38:13to do some beautiful equipping in these spaces.
- 38:16So that each and every one of us has the gift of being able to
- 38:20step into. All that God has for us.
- 38:22But I wonder. Today, if there are people.
- 38:25Sitting here today. That are receiving from the Holy
- 38:28Spirit that invitation through these.
- 38:30Messages to come follow me. It's not a salvation thing to
- 38:38come and be transformed into the likeness of Christ.
- 38:41Invitation. And I wonder if that is.
- 38:45You this morning, if in faith you'd boldly stand where you
- 38:48are. Maybe you've already even asked
- 38:50somebody to disciple you. But you're going.
- 38:52You know what? I'm going to step into this.
- 38:55I'm going to allow my life to be transformed into Christ's
- 38:58likeness right now. While eyes are shut.
- 39:00Why? Don't you just stand in faith
- 39:03and accept that invitation from the Holy Spirit to come follow
- 39:08Him and experience the transformation that God has for
- 39:14each and every one of us? Belief is free.
- 39:17Following does cost. Everything but it gives you more
- 39:21than you can imagine. Jesus didn't just want to save
- 39:24us. He wants to shape us, to send
- 39:28us, to mold us, to make us and to walk with us.
- 39:32All along this journey. You would never call to do it
- 39:35alone and the Holy Spirit I even just feel I haven't even opened
- 39:39my eyes to see how many of you are stood, but the Holy Spirit I
- 39:44just literally felt him smiling upon people here this morning
- 39:49going well done. Son.
- 39:52Well done daughter, this is always the plan for your life
- 39:58regardless of your age and your stage.
- 40:01Well done the gift that is going to be bestowed on you.
- 40:06Is going to be an incredible intimacy and for many of you,
- 40:10you are going to begin to hear the Lord very clearly and the
- 40:14scriptures are going to be opened up to you and there's
- 40:17going to be incredible revelation for many of you,
- 40:23things that you have walked. With for years you're.
- 40:26Going to see rewritten restored. Redeemed and renewed, and God,
- 40:36I'm just going to use those things for you to minister from.
- 40:42No, it's not yet, but it's soon. It's quicker than you think.
- 40:49God, I pray an incredible blessing on each person who's
- 40:53responded in faith this morning with a brave yes to you.
- 40:58Yes, God, I'm going to be discipled.
- 41:00Yes, God, I'm going to walk through the spiritual maturity.
- 41:04Yes, God, I'm going to be obedient to the call of God in
- 41:07my life and. You're going to use.
- 41:09This for Kingdom purposes you have permission to.
- 41:13Use this vessel for Kingdom purposes.
- 41:17And yes. I'm going to be encouraged.
- 41:21And yes, I'm going to be aligned and.
- 41:24Yes, I'm going to be transformed by your spirit.
- 41:28But God, I can't do this alone anymore.
- 41:29And so today I say, here I am. If you stood here today, just
- 41:36say that here I am, Lord, transform my life, transform my
- 41:45life, grow me, shape me, mold me, and make me into the
- 41:51likeness of You. That is my heart's greatest
- 41:55desire. That is our heart's greatest
- 41:57desire, God, that we would make, that you would make us more like
- 42:02you, that this time would not be wasted, that you've put us on
- 42:06planet Earth, but that way. When you call us home.
- 42:10Because you're going to call each and every one of us home
- 42:16that we would be met with well done, well done, good and
- 42:21faithful. Because we've stepped into all
- 42:25that you've had for us through this gift of discipleship.
- 42:32Jesus, mighty name. Wow.
- 42:38Maybe you're in this place today and I've spoken this morning and
- 42:44you're now even seeing if your eyes are open.
- 42:46People who are responding to follow Jesus with their life
- 42:51wholeheartedly because they want to be transformed into the
- 42:58likeness of Christ. They're not content to remain as
- 43:01they are, nor am I. Do you know this journey begins
- 43:08with something significant, begins with a decision made by
- 43:13each and every one of us to believe in Jesus Christ?
- 43:19That's why this message is called going from believers to
- 43:22followers. Now I can tell you with
- 43:26confidence that if you choose to believe in Christ, He's going to
- 43:29call you by name to follow Him. I know that.
- 43:36But I understand. Maybe you've walked in here
- 43:38today. Maybe you were brought by a
- 43:39friend. I don't know.
- 43:41Maybe you were invited to a miracle services and you thought
- 43:44this morning was going to be that.
- 43:47It's not an accident you're here today.
- 43:51Nothing is an accident with God. You're not an accident.
- 43:59Before you were here, God formed you, He knew you, He created
- 44:05you, He made you, and he what he made He loves so desperately.
- 44:13And for a long time he's been calling your name.
- 44:17I wonder if this morning you'd respond to that call and say,
- 44:19yes, Lord, I'm going to choose to believe.
- 44:23You. To believe in you, to put my
- 44:25faith in you this morning. My way is not work for me thus
- 44:29far. I got to do it another way.
- 44:35Do you know when you? Choose to believe in Christ.
- 44:38You are given something that is just one of the greatest gifts
- 44:41on planet earth. It's His grace and it washes
- 44:44over you. There's no decision you've ever
- 44:47made. There's no thing you've ever
- 44:48done that disqualifies you from the love of God.
- 44:53He calls you a son. He calls you a daughter, even if
- 44:57you haven't accepted him as your father.
- 45:01He says, come on home, come and let me show you how much I love
- 45:05you. He went to a cross and paid for
- 45:10everything, a debt you couldn't pay.
- 45:12And you mightn't understand everything I'm saying today.
- 45:14That's OK. It's part of the journey of
- 45:17following the Lord. You'll learn.
- 45:22But this morning I want to ask the greatest question, the most
- 45:25important question you'll ever be asked.
- 45:30Would you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior today?
- 45:34Would you choose? To believe that He is your Lord
- 45:40and Savior, that He is a good Father, and that He paid a debt
- 45:45that you couldn't pay. Would you accept that this
- 45:48morning?
