James Goldsmith, Jeffrey Epstein and the Warning Nobody Followed Up On (Part 1) (10/12/26) · The Epstein Chronicles

• 0:00
Speaker 1: What's up everyone and welcome to another episode of the
• 0:03
Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. When it comes to Jeffrey Epstein, the signs
• 0:09
Speaker 1: were always there, even all the way back in the 80s.
• 0:13
Speaker 1: So when people say they had no idea what Jeffrey
• 0:15
Speaker 1: Epstein was, that's why I don't believe them. How many
• 0:20
Speaker 1: of you have had a friend that was up to
• 0:22
Speaker 1: no good maybe, selling drugs, whatever it was, and they
• 0:26
Speaker 1: never told you that's what they were doing, but you knew?
• 0:29
Speaker 1: And how did you know? Well, their behavior. Hanging out
• 0:34
Speaker 1: at the bar? Oh, hold up, bro. I gotta run
• 0:36
Speaker 1: out real quick and, you know, go meet up with so-and-so. Or, hey,
• 0:41
Speaker 1: step outside with me real quick. John's coming over and
• 0:44
Speaker 1: I gotta meet him in my car and give him something.
• 0:47
Speaker 1: They've never explicitly told you, hey, look, I'm out here,
• 0:50
Speaker 1: you know, moving product. But you know. And the same
• 0:54
Speaker 1: goes for people like Epstein. This dude had a fucked
• 0:57
Speaker 1: up proclivity, liked young girls, underage girls, and all these
• 1:02
Speaker 1: people around him certainly knew. Now, that doesn't mean that
• 1:06
Speaker 1: everybody was involved. But don't tell me you didn't know
• 1:10
Speaker 1: or you didn't have any kind of suspicion that this
• 1:13
Speaker 1: dude was up to no good. Because that I just
• 1:16
Speaker 1: don't believe. Now, if somebody was to come out and say, look,
• 1:20
Speaker 1: I knew that he liked girls, he liked women, and
• 1:23
Speaker 1: I knew he was into some freaky shit, but I
• 1:25
Speaker 1: didn't know he liked little girls. Well, maybe I'd believe that.
• 1:28
Speaker 1: But these people would have you believe that Jeffrey Epstein
• 1:31
Speaker 1: didn't show any signs of being a degenerate. And that
• 1:34
Speaker 1: is just absolutely untrue. And in this episode, we have
• 1:39
Speaker 1: a rather long article from The Guardian about a billionaire
• 1:44
Speaker 1: from the 80s who knew exactly what Epstein was all
• 1:48
Speaker 1: the way back then. And the interesting thing about this dude, Mr.
• 1:52
Speaker 1: James Goldsmith, is that he has links to Hilton Head.
• 1:57
Speaker 1: And as you all know, that's Jane Doe 4, where
• 1:59
Speaker 1: she's from, And that's the accuser who made the allegations
• 2:03
Speaker 1: about President Trump. So boy, it is a tangled web
• 2:08
Speaker 1: we weave, isn't it? That said, let's dive in to
• 2:12
Speaker 1: part one of this article. This article was published once
• 2:17
Speaker 1: again by The Guardian and the headline, British billionaire warned
• 2:21
Speaker 1: Epstein was a sexual deviant decades before the FBI closed
• 2:25
Speaker 1: in on the abuser. This article was authored by Marilyn W. Thompson.
• 2:33
Speaker 1: For Jeffrey Epstein, the billionaire Goldsmith family was a gateway
• 2:36
Speaker 1: to elite society, and he wanted to be in their circle.
• 2:40
Speaker 1: The disgraced financier, pedophile, who died in prison in 2019
• 2:45
Speaker 1: facing sex trafficking charges, longed for a billionaire's lifestyle and
• 2:49
Speaker 1: cultivated the family's friends, bankers, business associates, and advisors. And
• 2:55
Speaker 1: that was his M.O., right? He'd get in close... Then
• 2:58
Speaker 1: he'd suck people into his web. Did the same thing
• 3:01
Speaker 1: with Wexner, Leon Black, all of them. You can say
• 3:05
Speaker 1: what you want about Jeffrey Epstein, but maybe, just maybe,
• 3:09
Speaker 1: one of the greatest bullshit artists in the history of
• 3:11
Speaker 1: the world. That's saying a lot considering he was palling
• 3:14
Speaker 1: around with Glenn Maxwell, who might be the second best
• 3:18
Speaker 1: liar in the history of the world. But Jeffrey Epstein,
• 3:22
Speaker 1: this is what he did. He would smooth his way in.
• 3:26
Speaker 1: He'd get close to people. get them to trust him,
• 3:29
Speaker 1: and then he'd start his shit. But Sir James Goldsmith,
• 3:33
Speaker 1: who was knighted by the Queen in 1976 and became
• 3:36
Speaker 1: a prominent British politician, remained wary of the American financier,
• 3:41
Speaker 1: and even despised him, his daughter Jemima recently told The Guardian.
• 3:45
Speaker 1: Two decades before Epstein came under federal investigation, Goldsmith, who
• 3:49
Speaker 1: died in 97, told a confidant that Epstein was a
• 3:52
Speaker 1: sexual deviant who was recruiting children for illicit activities. All
• 3:57
Speaker 1: the way back in the old days. Just like I've
• 4:00
Speaker 1: been telling you. All these people knew that this dude
• 4:04
Speaker 1: was a sick degenerate. All of them knew. And again,
• 4:07
Speaker 1: maybe not to the extent that he was doing it.
• 4:11
Speaker 1: But people were aware. And Mr. Goldsmith certainly was aware
• 4:15
Speaker 1: that Jeffrey Epstein was exactly what we know he is.
• 4:19
Speaker 1: A child abusing piece of shit. Goldsmith told me not
• 4:24
Speaker 1: to have anything to do with him. and that he
• 4:26
Speaker 1: was a pervert, and he didn't want him near any
• 4:29
Speaker 1: of us. He had four daughters to protect, recalled the
• 4:32
Speaker 1: famous French architect Robert Couturier, who designed opulent homes for
• 4:36
Speaker 1: Goldsmith in New York and in Mexico. Goldsmith's alleged warning
• 4:41
Speaker 1: came around 1987, years before the complaints about Epstein's solicitation
• 4:46
Speaker 1: of young girls for sex began filtering into federal law enforcement. 1987.
• 4:50
Speaker 1: My old ass was seven years old. That's how long
• 4:56
Speaker 1: this dude was up to it. You mean to tell
• 4:59
Speaker 1: me nobody had any idea, huh? Nobody was clued in.
• 5:02
Speaker 1: Nobody could have stopped them. Well, the answer is, they
• 5:06
Speaker 1: could have. They didn't want to. And that's because Epstein
• 5:09
Speaker 1: was beneficial to the vast majority of these scumbags that
• 5:12
Speaker 1: he was with. Epstein's network of pretty girls evolved into
• 5:16
Speaker 1: what authorities described as a global sex trafficking ring that
• 5:20
Speaker 1: catered to the ultra-rich and powerful. See, I take umbrage
• 5:24
Speaker 1: with that. because I don't look at it as a
• 5:26
Speaker 1: traditional ring, where you just call Epstein up and say, hey,
• 5:30
Speaker 1: I want Jane Doe 5. That wasn't how it worked.
• 5:34
Speaker 1: Epstein would offer these girls up to a select few,
• 5:38
Speaker 1: depending on what he needed, what he wanted, and how
• 5:40
Speaker 1: close he wanted those people brought in. But the people
• 5:43
Speaker 1: that he really wanted under thumb, those were the people
• 5:47
Speaker 1: that he'd get into these compromising situations. And look, we
• 5:51
Speaker 1: all know that you can survive a scandal involving a
• 5:54
Speaker 1: woman of age. I mean, if you're some kind of
• 5:56
Speaker 1: politician or whatever, and you get caught with a working girl,
• 6:00
Speaker 1: you know, a prostitute who is of age, well, people
• 6:03
Speaker 1: are going to think you're disgusting, but it's not going
• 6:06
Speaker 1: to be career ending. Not these days. But if you
• 6:09
Speaker 1: get caught with a child, that's it. And then if
• 6:12
Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein's the one that's holding that over your head, well,
• 6:17
Speaker 1: you're going to dance to whatever tune this madman wants
• 6:20
Speaker 1: to play. And that's what we've seen time and time
• 6:23
Speaker 1: again with people that got caught up. But it wasn't
• 6:25
Speaker 1: something that he was doing and advertising on Backpage. Right?
• 6:29
Speaker 1: Glenn Maxwell wasn't posting ads on Craigslist. It would become
• 6:36
Speaker 1: a scandal that touched royals, politicians, businessmen, academics, foreign diplomats,
• 6:40
Speaker 1: and celebrities around the world. And left more than 1,000
• 6:43
Speaker 1: victims in its wake. And I think that's probably conservative.
• 6:48
Speaker 1: I know people are like, yeah, right. How could it
• 6:50
Speaker 1: be more? It can be. We're talking all the way
• 6:52
Speaker 1: back to the 80s. Now, his conduct that he was
• 6:56
Speaker 1: charged for, obviously, started in the 90s. But do you
• 6:59
Speaker 1: think he just woke up one day and decided, Ah,
• 7:01
Speaker 1: you know what? I'm gonna go find me some little
• 7:03
Speaker 1: girls down at the high school. This motherfucker was broken
• 7:08
Speaker 1: from the time he was born. And when you have
• 7:10
Speaker 1: that kind of proclivity, that kind of sick urge, there's
• 7:13
Speaker 1: no fixing you. There's only one option, and that option
• 7:17
Speaker 1: is helicopters and volcanoes. The pity of it all is
• 7:23
Speaker 1: it was preventable, Couturier told The Guardian. Epstein, born on
• 7:27
Speaker 1: Coney Island, had been on the radar of New York's
• 7:29
Speaker 1: elite since he first surfaced at society events, often on
• 7:32
Speaker 1: the arm of heiresses, Couturier said. He was a charmer
• 7:37
Speaker 1: and a talker. Lots of rich people are deeply gullible,
• 7:41
Speaker 1: as protected as they are from reality. No one did
• 7:44
Speaker 1: anything about it. Oh, so they're gullible, is it? Not
• 7:48
Speaker 1: gullible enough to not pillage all of our wealth. but
• 7:51
Speaker 1: gullible enough to fall for a sex predator like Epstein.
• 7:54
Speaker 1: Is that what you want me to believe? Because I
• 7:56
Speaker 1: don't believe it. If they had their eyes shut, their
• 8:01
Speaker 1: eyes were shut on purpose. They didn't want to see
• 8:03
Speaker 1: what Epstein was, or maybe they didn't want to accept it.
• 8:06
Speaker 1: Because that would mean they wouldn't be able to benefit
• 8:09
Speaker 1: from his largesse. And God forbid that didn't happen. In
• 8:13
Speaker 1: the mid-1980s, Sir James Goldsmith, known as Jimmy, announced he
• 8:17
Speaker 1: was making a shift in his U.S. business operations. Goldsmith
• 8:20
Speaker 1: had hired a new chief executive who would open an
• 8:23
Speaker 1: office for him in Hilton Head, South Carolina, an emerging
• 8:27
Speaker 1: luxury resort. Goldsmith's Hilton Head office is rarely mentioned in
• 8:31
Speaker 1: writings about his reign as a lucky gambler, as Time
• 8:34
Speaker 1: Magazine called him, an advisor to U.S. presidents who became
• 8:38
Speaker 1: one of the world's richest men by betting on undervalued companies.
• 8:42
Speaker 1: His conglomerate, with command centers in Paris and London, had
• 8:46
Speaker 1: its U.S. headquarters in New York, close to his elegant
• 8:49
Speaker 1: Manhattan townhouse where Goldsmith entertained, and where the young Epstein
• 8:53
Speaker 1: trolled for wealthy clients. So their worlds intersected. And when
• 8:58
Speaker 1: you have somebody like Mr. Goldsmith, who is a mover
• 9:01
Speaker 1: and a shaker, has all this money, and then you
• 9:04
Speaker 1: have a snake oil salesman like Jeffrey Epstein, he's going
• 9:07
Speaker 1: to try and move in. The closer he gets to
• 9:10
Speaker 1: rich people, the more he can pilfer. Hilton had at
• 9:15
Speaker 1: the time was undergoing a chaotic development boom that brought
• 9:19
Speaker 1: in a rush of speculators, shady operators, and vacationers lured
• 9:24
Speaker 1: by star-studded golf tournaments and tennis matches. Its population, 11,000
• 9:29
Speaker 1: in 1980, doubled in a decade. Its tiny airport was
• 9:33
Speaker 1: suddenly a busy landing strip for private jets, including a
• 9:37
Speaker 1: $ 10 million Gulfstream owned by Goldsmith's company that was parked
• 9:41
Speaker 1: there for quick hops. Epstein developed a lifelong fascination with Goldsmith,
• 9:47
Speaker 1: his family, and fortune, an investigation by the Guardian found.
• 9:51
Speaker 1: And look, there has been a lot of talk recently
• 9:54
Speaker 1: about Epstein down in Hilton Head. And if we can
• 9:58
Speaker 1: get some good quality confirmation, then it goes a long
• 10:02
Speaker 1: way to giving some more credence to Jane Doe Forre's story, right?
• 10:07
Speaker 1: So look, I'm only interested in the real evidence. I'm
• 10:09
Speaker 1: not interested in what people are speculating. Let's get that trail.
• 10:13
Speaker 1: Let's follow it. Let's see what Epstein was up to,
• 10:16
Speaker 1: the time he was up to it, and where he was.
• 10:18
Speaker 1: and then we can cross-reference that with other people's schedules,
• 10:21
Speaker 1: like Donald Trump's, and see where we're at. Epstein's connection
• 10:28
Speaker 1: to Goldsmith and the presence of the billionaire's company and
• 10:31
Speaker 1: his associates on a South Carolina sea island, which was
• 10:34
Speaker 1: attracting an infusion of investors, is potentially relevant because of
• 10:38
Speaker 1: an alleged sexual assault that is said to have occurred
• 10:41
Speaker 1: there in the 80s. A woman known only as Jane
• 10:45
Speaker 1: Doe for, claimed in four FBI interviews, After Epstein's 2019 arrest,
• 10:51
Speaker 1: that he assaulted her during his visit to the island
• 10:53
Speaker 1: in the 80s when she was still a teenager. She
• 10:56
Speaker 1: also claimed that the man she only knew as Jeff
• 10:59
Speaker 1: trafficked her to other men, including Donald Trump. Now look,
• 11:03
Speaker 1: here's the thing. When Epstein was younger, maybe he was
• 11:07
Speaker 1: working like a Heidi Fleiss, right? Maybe he was setting
• 11:11
Speaker 1: things up. Very possible. What I mean about him not
• 11:14
Speaker 1: running a Heidi Fleiss type operation is later on. when
• 11:18
Speaker 1: we're talking about people like Prince Andrew, Bill Richardson, George Mitchell,
• 11:23
Speaker 1: those kind of guys. That was all part of the
• 11:26
Speaker 1: compromise scheme. But in the early days of Jeffrey Epstein,
• 11:31
Speaker 1: who the fuck knows? Very possible that he had something
• 11:34
Speaker 1: else going on. The White House has denied the allegation
• 11:38
Speaker 1: about the U.S. president, calling it completely baseless and backed
• 11:42
Speaker 1: by zero credible evidence. Well, that we know about. Where
• 11:48
Speaker 1: are all of those notes? Where's Jane Doe 4's information,
• 11:51
Speaker 1: the handwritten notes, and the rest of the 302s? Probably
• 11:55
Speaker 1: a good idea to get all of that out there,
• 11:57
Speaker 1: especially if you're saying it's bunk. Because if something was fake,
• 12:02
Speaker 1: and there's no basis to it, wouldn't you want that
• 12:05
Speaker 1: out there for the public to examine and take a
• 12:07
Speaker 1: look at? I know if it was me, that's what
• 12:10
Speaker 1: I would want. The Guardian has been examining records, digging
• 12:14
Speaker 1: into archives, and conducting interviews to explore intersections of Goldsmith
• 12:19
Speaker 1: and Epstein to try and understand if Epstein, with decades
• 12:22
Speaker 1: of secretive movement and a web of global financial ties,
• 12:25
Speaker 1: might have had a reason to be on Hilton Head
• 12:27
Speaker 1: in the 80s when those alleged assaults by Epstein occurred.
• 12:31
Speaker 1: This remains a mystery, but Epstein's relationship with Goldsmith provides
• 12:35
Speaker 1: some additional clues. Now look, all of this is touch
• 12:39
Speaker 1: and go. I want to be very clear about that.
• 12:42
Speaker 1: We don't have that direct thread. We have allegations. We
• 12:47
Speaker 1: have multiple FBI interviews. But we don't have anything that
• 12:51
Speaker 1: would hold up in court. And I think people need
• 12:53
Speaker 1: to understand that. It's one thing to have suspicion. It's
• 12:58
Speaker 1: one thing to have some allegations. It's a whole ass
• 13:01
Speaker 1: other thing being able to tie that all up and
• 13:04
  Speaker 1: bring it before a court. So I don't think we're
• 13:08
Speaker 1: at that point. But the only way to get there
• 13:10
Speaker 1: is to continue to do the groundwork. You gotta try
• 13:14
Speaker 1: and untie every single knot, kick in every single door,
• 13:18
Speaker 1: and shake every single bush. But with that said, I
• 13:22
Speaker 1: can't tell you, one way or the other, if what
• 13:24
Speaker 1: Jane Doe 4 is saying is true. We just don't
• 13:27
Speaker 1: have the evidence. But I think that there's enough there
• 13:30
Speaker 1: for an investigation, and I think that if we had
• 13:33
Speaker 1: a special counsel, it would provide a very, very good
• 13:36
Speaker 1: track to take a lockdown. Those who dismiss the claim
• 13:41
Speaker 1: of Jane Doe for, including Epstein's brother Mark, have cited
• 13:44
Speaker 1: the lack of public record of his presence on the
• 13:46
Speaker 1: island as proof that her story is untrue. Mark Epstein
• 13:50
Speaker 1: told the Guardian he has no knowledge of him being
• 13:53
Speaker 1: in Hilton Head. Well, okay, I get that. But didn't
• 13:57
Speaker 1: Mark also tell us that he didn't really know what
• 13:59
Speaker 1: Epstein was up to? That they weren't really that close?
• 14:01
Speaker 1: Was that a lie? Did or does Mark know more
• 14:04
Speaker 1: about Epstein than he let on? That's very possible. Now, again,
• 14:08
Speaker 1: that doesn't mean that, you know, Mark knows exactly what
• 14:11
Speaker 1: his brother was up to. That would be crazy to
• 14:13
Speaker 1: think that, you know, someone's brother knows every move they're making.
• 14:18
Speaker 1: But I think that when it comes to Epstein, he
• 14:21
Speaker 1: was certainly operating in the shadows. And just because his
• 14:24
Speaker 1: brother or someone else doesn't know that he is operating
• 14:27
Speaker 1: in a locale doesn't mean that he's not there. So
• 14:30
Speaker 1: I certainly think it's a worthy track to follow. And
• 14:34
Speaker 1: I'm glad to see that The Guardian is continuing to
• 14:36
Speaker 1: do that. And the local coverage down in South Carolina
• 14:39
Speaker 1: has been pretty good too. We've been through that whole
• 14:41
Speaker 1: investigation that they've had and they've uncovered some pretty interesting stuff.
• 14:48
Speaker 1: Now again, there's nothing that would hold up in court.
• 14:52
Speaker 1: But before you get to a situation where you have
• 14:54
Speaker 1: evidence that'll hold up, you have to have that circumstantial
• 14:57
Speaker 1: evidence to build the foundation. And I think there's certainly
• 14:59
Speaker 1: a lot of that. So we're going to wrap up
• 15:02
Speaker 1: this episode right here And in the next episode, we're
• 15:05
Speaker 1: going to pick up where we left off. All the
• 15:08
Speaker 1: information that goes with this episode can be found in
• 15:11
  Speaker 1: the description box.
