Myth of Joshua in Sumerian Legacy
In this episode, we unravel the strange connections between the biblical figure Joshua and the far older myths of Sumer. Was Joshua’s conquest of Canaan an echo of Mesopotamian traditions of divine kingship? From Jericho’s collapsing walls to the cosmic authority of Shamash and Utu, we explore how echoes of Sumerian legacy may have shaped one of the Bible’s most enigmatic heroes.
