- 0:01Speaker 1: Not all people experience the same exact thing, but like
- 0:04Speaker 1: the overall the commonalities are very very similar.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, Yeah, everything that I've read, understood, and consumed
- 0:13Speaker 2: kind of indicates that there are just like certain commonalities
- 0:16Speaker 2: that most people report.
- 0:18Speaker 1: I feel like the one everyone knows if you think
- 0:20Speaker 1: about like dying or like go to the light. That's yeah,
- 0:24Speaker 1: and that is part of this. It's one of the stages,
- 0:27Speaker 1: but it's not the first stage.
- 0:28Speaker 3: Oh hi, Caitlin, Hi Cassie, all Hi, creepy people, helly,
- 0:46Speaker 3: this is PNW Haunts and Homicides In case you forgot.
- 0:49Speaker 2: I know, we took a little bit of a break,
- 0:51Speaker 2: like a half sea break.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Yeah, but we're pretty much back full time now. So yeah,
- 0:55Speaker 1: get sick of us. I like that. Have z's have
- 0:58Speaker 1: zea break, have z e's. Yeah, I took a little
- 1:00Speaker 1: longer break than plan, but I'm back now. Yeah. Surprise,
- 1:05Speaker 1: I'm back with a let bubu. So if you're curious
- 1:07Speaker 1: about that, join Patreon because there is a bonus and
- 1:10Speaker 1: I'm not going to show it to you because we
- 1:12Speaker 1: opened it on Patreon, so I'm not going to show it.
- 1:16Speaker 1: It's a surprise. That's so fun. Caitlin took me to
- 1:21Speaker 1: our gate keepy spot. Great, I don't anyway, this is
- 1:27Speaker 1: anything we do well, I was going to finish. This
- 1:29Speaker 1: is PNW Haunts and Homicides, where we chat about true crime,
- 1:32Speaker 1: the paranormal, and all things spooky, weird, creepy, other worldly.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Deathly in the Pacific Northwest. Okay, great, I dontly. I
- 1:43Speaker 2: think I meant to say deadly, not deathly. Deathly. It
- 1:46Speaker 2: is deathly a word. Deathly is a word, I think
- 1:49Speaker 2: in the context that you're trying to use it, I
- 1:52Speaker 2: think deadly.
- 1:53Speaker 1: I think, Yeah, I don't know either one.
- 1:56Speaker 2: I feel like it's almost interchangeable, both just from the
- 2:00Speaker 2: little like snippets that you have revealed to me throughout
- 2:04Speaker 2: the day of what your topic may be.
- 2:07Speaker 1: A but if it's like a deadly one, we do
- 2:11Speaker 1: tear a reading at the end of every episode for
- 2:12Speaker 1: a little palette cleanser and also a little deeper insight
- 2:17Speaker 1: into our topic for the day. Yeah, we do, And
- 2:20Speaker 1: we do that. I mean in every episode, not just
- 2:24Speaker 1: if it's a scary deadly one. We do it in
- 2:26Speaker 1: every episode. So yeah, yeah, so far, who knows, we're wild.
- 2:29Speaker 1: We could change, we could change on you. We could
- 2:32Speaker 1: up and change on you at any second, at a
- 2:37Speaker 1: moment's notice.
- 2:38Speaker 2: We're just like looking to harness that like blind box energy.
- 2:43Speaker 2: We're looking for our next viral marketing scheme.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Today is my episode. I'm back Hi here, I'm back
- 2:51Speaker 1: with stories.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Also, I'm feeling really bad because the last episode I
- 2:55Speaker 2: did was about me, and then I'm like, let's just
- 2:58Speaker 2: talk about me again. I want to talk about me.
- 3:01Speaker 2: You want to talk about as we're going to rename
- 3:04Speaker 2: the podcast Hants and Cassie and Caitlin is no longer involved.
- 3:13Speaker 1: I was like, wait, haunts already is the Cassie. I'm
- 3:18Speaker 1: just like doing the math like you're the Haunts. Now
- 3:21Speaker 1: you did thet it's haunts and Cassie, you do the Haunts.
- 3:23Speaker 1: I do the Cassie.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Okay, But anyway, I apologize for constantly talking about my
- 3:33Speaker 2: own self. But yeah, it's such Leo energy, it really is.
- 3:38Speaker 2: I do have a Leo Leo Are you rising venus?
- 3:42Speaker 1: Leo h Venus?
- 3:43Speaker 2: Oh spicy, good for you?
- 3:47Speaker 1: Spicy anyway, So now I feel like that, and now
- 3:53Speaker 1: I feel like embarrassed because now people are looking at
- 3:55Speaker 1: me like, oh, hi, Leo Venus. We know a lot
- 3:59Speaker 1: about it. You anyway, maybe we should put this at
- 4:03Speaker 1: the top of the episode tail and if you're sensitive
- 4:05Speaker 1: about talking about details of dying and death, maybe sold
- 4:10Speaker 1: one who would be that. I know, I know we
- 4:14Speaker 1: talk about like, we talk about death all the time constantly.
- 4:17Speaker 1: It's true crime, it's ghosts. But this is just like
- 4:21Speaker 1: kind of what people go through as they're dying. So
- 4:24Speaker 1: it's kind of very specific. So if you're just sensitive
- 4:26Speaker 1: to that right now, you know, back to it, skip it.
- 4:29Speaker 1: So do you Okay, I'll see you later.
- 4:32Speaker 2: I know, I know.
- 4:32Speaker 1: I felt like, yeah, I feel that. I know you're
- 4:35Speaker 1: so good to see you. Guys. Oh sorry, you torture me,
- 4:39Speaker 1: so I to you. This episode was inspired by real
- 4:43Speaker 1: life events. And just like before anyone gets too scared,
- 4:48Speaker 1: I did not die. I did not actually die. Okay,
- 4:51Speaker 1: I didn't it almost die. Okay, So you're not podcasting
- 4:54Speaker 1: from like the grade, yes, but this is they're going
- 4:57Speaker 1: to see the title near death Experiences. And I didn't
- 5:00Speaker 1: want people to panic for a minute.
- 5:02Speaker 2: Okay.
- 5:03Speaker 1: So this was inspired by something that happened to me. Code.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Let's just say I'm a little traumatic sometimes. What I
- 5:13Speaker 1: had an incident in my bathroom alone one day. Oh god.
- 5:18Speaker 1: So I was just standing there like brush my teeth.
- 5:22Speaker 1: That was at the end. I know, I'm not going
- 5:23Speaker 1: to go into me. It's kind of detail. But it's fine.
- 5:27Speaker 1: It's not stressful anymore. We're okay, We're not everything side.
- 5:30Speaker 1: I love it. It's great. So I was standing doing
- 5:33Speaker 1: like my mouth washed, looking in the mirror. I was
- 5:35Speaker 1: like not bending, moving, I was standing just being a person,
- 5:41Speaker 1: just standing there, just people in that type of thing,
- 5:44Speaker 1: looking in the mirror, thinking about who knows what. Oh
- 5:46Speaker 1: I was Actually I was watching a podcast. I was
- 5:48Speaker 1: listening to the podcast, and my lower back popped like
- 5:53Speaker 1: I had popped, like I had like moved, just did
- 5:56Speaker 1: all of it like I had moved.
- 5:58Speaker 2: And it popped so loud that it like startled me
- 6:03Speaker 2: and it felt like I felt like the skeleton shift
- 6:07Speaker 2: in my body.
- 6:11Speaker 1: And it was very confusing. Uh. And this happened just
- 6:16Speaker 1: like before super recent events. This happened like weeks ago. Yeah,
- 6:20Speaker 1: just like a couple of weeks ago. Yeah, so before
- 6:23Speaker 1: super recent events. So none nothing inspired this, Well something did,
- 6:27Speaker 1: I'll tell you. Oh my god. I thought for a second,
- 6:34Speaker 1: but I had like been shot because it was so
- 6:39Speaker 1: loud and startling and out of nowhere. And I remember
- 6:44Speaker 1: watching this documentary it was like and I survived or
- 6:47Speaker 1: something when I was very young and someone had been
- 6:50Speaker 1: shot and they didn't feel it. Yeah they because yep.
- 6:54Speaker 1: So for some reason, like initially like in your back,
- 6:57Speaker 1: in your spine, like and so for some reason, I
- 7:02Speaker 1: just had this. I was like, did I just get
- 7:04Speaker 1: like shot? It was the I don't know where it came.
- 7:06Speaker 1: It was weird. And then I was very confused, as
- 7:09Speaker 1: was staying there trying to figure out. Quickly, I realized, Okay,
- 7:11Speaker 1: I didn't get shot, but I was like, something happened
- 7:14Speaker 1: in my back, but I like, I can feel I'm
- 7:17Speaker 1: not numb. I can feel things, but I'm not in
- 7:19Speaker 1: pain at all.
- 7:21Speaker 2: And and then I start my vision starts to.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Go it like tunnel and I'm getting hot clammy. I'm
- 7:32Speaker 1: looking in the mirror. I literally like see all the
- 7:35Speaker 1: drain like or the drain blood from my face, all
- 7:37Speaker 1: the blood drain from my face, all the drain blood
- 7:40Speaker 1: from my face, and I'm like shit. And this happened
- 7:43Speaker 1: like super fast but also very slow, like I had
- 7:46Speaker 1: time to kind of think about things, but not really
- 7:49Speaker 1: and I was like I'm about to pass out. So
- 7:51Speaker 1: I got I was like, I gotta get low. I
- 7:52Speaker 1: gotta get low to the ground. So I'm like grabbing
- 7:54Speaker 1: the sink and I get low, and then like I
- 7:57Speaker 1: don't remember anything after I get like my wasn't on
- 8:00Speaker 1: the ground yet, and then I just I woke up
- 8:03Speaker 1: in the corner of my bathroom.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Oh, I really don't like this. I really really don't
- 8:08Speaker 2: like this.
- 8:09Speaker 1: And I was like, what the fuck just happened?
- 8:13Speaker 2: Bro, I just painted in my hooking bathroom, And like
- 8:18Speaker 2: I said, I did have a lot of time to
- 8:20Speaker 2: think weirdly, because it was like slow motion almost. Yeah,
- 8:24Speaker 2: but I feel like in the same like it's it's
- 8:27Speaker 2: probably actually happening so fast, but it's like, but.
- 8:32Speaker 1: It seemed very slow, yeah, the passing out of it,
- 8:37Speaker 1: because I could feel myself like sinking into like passing out.
- 8:40Speaker 2: And I feel like that's like something like neurologically where
- 8:44Speaker 2: like you're it feels like it's happening really slow, but
- 8:47Speaker 2: I feel like it's because your brain isn't like doing
- 8:51Speaker 2: the brain stuff.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Yeah, it might be like trying to help you out
- 8:55Speaker 1: to like yeah, you know, get low, get low, hit
- 9:00Speaker 1: your head on something, which I did not, thankfully, But
- 9:04Speaker 1: I had time to think as I was like starting
- 9:08Speaker 1: to pass out or like it was like getting black
- 9:11Speaker 1: or I know, I was like holding onto the sync,
- 9:13Speaker 1: but I was thinking about I like basically had my
- 9:15Speaker 1: life flash before my eyes because like I knew I
- 9:18Speaker 1: was passing out, but I didn't know why, and so
- 9:20Speaker 1: I kind of just assumed I was dying.
- 9:25Speaker 2: So I was like, Okay, I'm dying now, this is
- 9:29Speaker 2: this is this bike, Cassie, this is the end.
- 9:32Speaker 1: But I wasn't scared or anything, and it felt like
- 9:35Speaker 1: very calm, very peaceful, Like I was like, Okay, I've
- 9:38Speaker 1: had a pretty good life. I'm also not done yet.
- 9:41Speaker 1: I do know that. Like I like I did realize,
- 9:45Speaker 1: like I'm not ready to go. I have a lot
- 9:47Speaker 1: of things to do, like not quite ready, but like okay,
- 9:51Speaker 1: I was at peace with it, you know. So that
- 9:54Speaker 1: was like that was very interesting to me, yeah, because
- 9:59Speaker 1: it was like not scary. But again I wasn't actually dying,
- 10:04Speaker 1: so maybe my body knew that, but my brain definitely
- 10:07Speaker 1: did not know. I don't know. Yeah, so I felt
- 10:11Speaker 1: like I kind of had a near death experience, not
- 10:15Speaker 1: completely because I wasn't dying. But I did have that
- 10:18Speaker 1: like I actually thought I was gonna die, and like
- 10:22Speaker 1: I had this thought like fuck, my brother, my poor
- 10:24Speaker 1: brother is gonna find me naked on the bathroom floor.
- 10:27Speaker 1: God d like dang it, like I'm sorry, oh no,
- 10:31Speaker 1: sorry joey.
- 10:34Speaker 2: Uh.
- 10:35Speaker 1: But then I woke up and the first thought I
- 10:38Speaker 1: had was like very confused. I had to like think,
- 10:41Speaker 1: I'm like, oh okay, like what happened. But then I
- 10:43Speaker 1: was like, ah, shit, I didn't die, like man, I
- 10:47Speaker 1: still got to pay my bills. Fuck, I'm still alive.
- 10:53Speaker 1: I'm alive. So I did have that moment of like
- 10:57Speaker 1: dang it, but it was good to know that the
- 11:00Speaker 1: say it part was only literally like my thought was
- 11:03Speaker 1: about I have to pay still, So that was very comforting.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Like there's I felt I feel better about life and things,
- 11:12Speaker 1: yes now, which is very it's very common of in
- 11:14Speaker 1: your death experience, which we're gonna actually talk about today. Yeah,
- 11:18Speaker 1: I am so excited for me. Do you have any
- 11:21Speaker 1: questions for me about like what it was like to
- 11:24Speaker 1: basically die. Do you guys have any questions?
- 11:31Speaker 2: Okay, I feel like just for context, I am somebody
- 11:36Speaker 2: that is very much on the fence about like in
- 11:39Speaker 2: terms of like people say, like especially like once you
- 11:41Speaker 2: get married, and you know, like as we get older,
- 11:44Speaker 2: like you have to have conversations about if there are
- 11:47Speaker 2: certain things that are meaningful or like important to you,
- 11:52Speaker 2: about like kind of like end of life decisions like
- 11:54Speaker 2: how do you want your remains to be handled?
- 11:58Speaker 1: And you know, things like that.
- 11:59Speaker 2: And I'm like, I'm very much like on the fence
- 12:02Speaker 2: about cremation and things like that, just because I'm like,
- 12:06Speaker 2: I am so afraid every time I hear like stories
- 12:10Speaker 2: about the olden days where they had like the fucking
- 12:12Speaker 2: bells you could ring from down inside the grave, and
- 12:16Speaker 2: like people that, oh my.
- 12:18Speaker 1: God, that's so funny that you say that. Okay, keep going.
- 12:21Speaker 2: I I've also you know, I feel like this is
- 12:25Speaker 2: more like from the perspective of like I think about
- 12:28Speaker 2: instances where people didn't necessarily it wasn't that, oh we
- 12:34Speaker 2: thought this person was dead. I think about it in
- 12:37Speaker 2: both ways, because I think there are times in history
- 12:39Speaker 2: where it's it's been proven like oh, this person was
- 12:43Speaker 2: believed to be dead, but they just had like incredibly
- 12:46Speaker 2: low heart rates something like that.
- 12:48Speaker 1: When like but medical stuff is so advanced now.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Yeah, and then they but then also intentionally, some people
- 12:55Speaker 2: have just been like obviously burned alive and like the
- 12:58Speaker 2: idea of being able to feel that until like just so,
- 13:03Speaker 2: I have a lot of like body horror issues related
- 13:08Speaker 2: to like certain aspects of death, and.
- 13:13Speaker 1: I don't know, I'm not really sure how you process that.
- 13:16Speaker 1: And I have thoughts. Yeah. First is you can't get
- 13:21Speaker 1: buried alive because they ferment you, right or what's that called?
- 13:27Speaker 1: And in term like they fill your body with chemicals?
- 13:33Speaker 1: Oh well sure?
- 13:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:37Speaker 1: I was like I wasn't off with ferment. There's another
- 13:41Speaker 1: what is the name for it? Like preserving you what,
- 13:44Speaker 1: there's a isn't there a name there? There is, my mam,
- 13:50Speaker 1: not preservation? No, okay, you think I would know. I'm
- 13:55Speaker 1: like obsessed with this. I wanted to be a mortician
- 13:58Speaker 1: in ball, Thank you. I was like, it's the thing
- 14:02Speaker 1: morticians do. Yeah, that's what I wanted to do. And
- 14:05Speaker 1: I can't think of the word I have brain bok embalming,
- 14:10Speaker 1: thank you, because you get embalmed, so they're gonna I mean,
- 14:12Speaker 1: you can't survive that, so there's no.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Way you're going, right, But what if you were alive
- 14:16Speaker 2: up to that point and somehow they didn't realize that
- 14:18Speaker 2: you were. I'm just saying, like, I just hear these
- 14:22Speaker 2: stories about people that are discovered and like, obviously that's
- 14:25Speaker 2: such It's it's.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Not a super common thing. But then there's also.
- 14:30Speaker 2: The cases where people thought their loved ones were being
- 14:34Speaker 2: handled in a certain way and then they find you know,
- 14:38Speaker 2: mortuaries that have had these horrible, like horrific practices where
- 14:42Speaker 2: it was like, oh, we just actually let your like.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Loved one like rot and then abandoned. Maybe I should
- 14:49Speaker 1: be a mortician. Yeah, no, I mean there's just a
- 14:52Speaker 1: lot I would.
- 14:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, unfortunately, it's just like anything in life
- 14:57Speaker 2: where uh, you know, something are just like really tragic
- 15:02Speaker 2: or they're uncomfortable to talk about, and people take advantage
- 15:05Speaker 2: of the fact that like there's a certain amount of
- 15:08Speaker 2: trust just like awful things happen.
- 15:12Speaker 1: And I'm just thinking about like.
- 15:14Speaker 2: If you are whether you're incapacitated but not deceased, or
- 15:20Speaker 2: you are truly deceased, there are things that can be
- 15:23Speaker 2: done to.
- 15:24Speaker 1: You that are just really horrific.
- 15:26Speaker 2: And it's like your suffering doesn't necessarily or at least
- 15:30Speaker 2: maybe even your loved ones on your behalf. Like the
- 15:34Speaker 2: suffering doesn't have to end just because your life has. Yeah,
- 15:38Speaker 2: so I guess, okay, yeah, it's actually it's very nihilistic,
- 15:45Speaker 2: but you're yeah.
- 15:47Speaker 1: I'm My thought is like, if I'm dead, I don't
- 15:50Speaker 1: really care what happens to my body. I mean, obviously
- 15:53Speaker 1: I don't want me or anybody else to be like
- 15:56Speaker 1: harmed or treated grossly in any way trying to like
- 16:00Speaker 1: think of my Yeah, be careful with my words here,
- 16:02Speaker 1: but yeah, like I don't really care, but yeah, I
- 16:07Speaker 1: also do care because I want to be a skeleton. Yeah,
- 16:12Speaker 1: so in a way, you kind of do care what
- 16:14Speaker 1: happens to your body after you die. So I don't know. Yeah,
- 16:16Speaker 1: I definitely like want to be buried. I want an
- 16:20Speaker 1: old looking headstone. I want it to grow moss on it.
- 16:23Speaker 1: I want to like decay and become a skeleton in
- 16:27Speaker 1: a box in the ground. I mean, I wouldn't mind
- 16:31Speaker 1: like a wooden box. I don't eny like fancy box
- 16:33Speaker 1: or anything. I don't know if they put me in
- 16:34Speaker 1: a wooden box these days, I think legally there, yeah, yeah,
- 16:39Speaker 1: there's cheapest one. I don't care. I just want to
- 16:41Speaker 1: be a skeleton. Yeah.
- 16:43Speaker 2: In terms of like like regulatory incompliance like requirements.
- 16:48Speaker 1: There are certain things that you can and cannot do.
- 16:53Speaker 2: With human remains or really with any remain and it
- 16:56Speaker 2: was just depending on Yeah, you're.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Technically not allowed to like e scutch or them places,
- 17:00Speaker 1: but everyone scatters them anyway. Yeah. So funny that you
- 17:05Speaker 1: mentioned a bell, because I've always said, like, I want
- 17:07Speaker 1: a bell on my headstone, just like for funsies. I
- 17:10Speaker 1: think it would just be like cute and like I
- 17:13Speaker 1: want like an old school headstone.
- 17:14Speaker 2: I don't know, I mean it loves cemetery practical purpose
- 17:17Speaker 2: at certain points in history, which is I think maybe
- 17:21Speaker 2: I need to consume less in terms of like the
- 17:27Speaker 2: things that I know are sort of my uh my
- 17:31Speaker 2: bugaboos related to death and let the let let whatever
- 17:37Speaker 2: mystery does remain just fucking remain and just not maybe
- 17:43Speaker 2: maybe we don't think.
- 17:43Speaker 1: About that so much. I have to think about it. Yeah, no,
- 17:48Speaker 1: I know. But so I want to bell on my
- 17:50Speaker 1: headstone just also because I can come back as a
- 17:52Speaker 1: ghost and ring it and just like scare you and
- 17:54Speaker 1: make you think I'm buried alive down there.
- 17:56Speaker 2: So I think I think that's great. So yeah, but
- 17:58Speaker 2: I will literally never reach cover from that.
- 18:02Speaker 1: I'm going to do it too specifically.
- 18:04Speaker 2: So I saw this headstone at Spirit the other day
- 18:06Speaker 2: and it says return to Sender and it has one
- 18:09Speaker 2: of the bells on it, and I took a little
- 18:12Speaker 2: video of it.
- 18:13Speaker 1: Here'stop it. You're relaxing.
- 18:26Speaker 4: I want it.
- 18:30Speaker 1: That's gonna be me, return Decender. I thought that was
- 18:33Speaker 1: fucking hilarious. This is that's the headstone I want. So
- 18:37Speaker 1: if anyone is wondering, I wanted to say, return to Cender,
- 18:41Speaker 1: I want a bell on it. Okay, anyway, And then
- 18:47Speaker 1: there was also, like you mentioned, like planning after death.
- 18:52Speaker 1: I did have a thought as soon as I woke up,
- 18:56Speaker 1: oh about a certain drawer in my house that maybe
- 19:00Speaker 1: my mom or brother wouldn't want to make your dildo drawer?
- 19:04Speaker 1: Is that? I said, a certain drawer? Okay, yeah, it
- 19:07Speaker 1: is my dildo drawer. I'm just trying to kneel down, get.
- 19:12Speaker 2: It side this giant nailer and get it. Do you guys,
- 19:17Speaker 2: do you get it?
- 19:18Speaker 1: Nail? Do you get it?
- 19:20Speaker 4: She?
- 19:21Speaker 1: So anyway, my giant dildo drawer. I did have a
- 19:26Speaker 1: thought as I was like, you know, kind of coming
- 19:29Speaker 1: to coming to also when I looked in the mirror
- 19:35Speaker 1: when I was like getting up no blood in my lips.
- 19:37Speaker 1: It was I mean, we can insert the picture maybe
- 19:40Speaker 1: if you guys don't want to see it skip maybe
- 19:43Speaker 1: I don't know, but I think it's an interesting picture.
- 19:45Speaker 1: I look for dead, so dead.
- 19:48Speaker 2: I just feel like maybe we should do a carousel
- 19:51Speaker 2: of all of your appalling medical photos from over the summer.
- 19:57Speaker 2: So like we've technically taken a break, but Cassie has
- 20:01Speaker 2: just been like, I'm just gonna fuck up every inch
- 20:05Speaker 2: of this fucking future court. Because I did go to
- 20:08Speaker 2: the er. It was for something unrelated. I'm having a
- 20:12Speaker 2: reaction with alcohol and my medication. It's fine, but I
- 20:15Speaker 2: thought it was from the fainting. So we went to
- 20:16Speaker 2: the eer to also fucking bees and like, oh, I've
- 20:20Speaker 2: been stung by a bee this summer. Never been stung
- 20:22Speaker 2: by a bee before. It was actually a fucking hornet. Yeah,
- 20:26Speaker 2: I just yeah, I did. I have a couple of
- 20:29Speaker 2: urgent care visits for some shots for some you know
- 20:32Speaker 2: when you sent that picture and you were like, I
- 20:34Speaker 2: guess I'm not allergic to bees. I'm like looking at
- 20:37Speaker 2: the picture and I'm like, dude, no offense. But if
- 20:39Speaker 2: this is you not allergic to bees. I'm I'm literally
- 20:43Speaker 2: sprinting like it was like.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Don't it so? I mean they're more intense, That's what
- 20:48Speaker 1: I've heard.
- 20:49Speaker 2: I no like Olympic sprinter from now on, anytime I
- 20:55Speaker 2: see a bee, and I have.
- 20:57Speaker 1: Always been like, the thing is though I didn't see it,
- 21:00Speaker 1: hear it. I had no idea it was there.
- 21:02Speaker 2: I didn't feel it until I felt a little pinch
- 21:06Speaker 2: and I was like the fuck. And then I felt
- 21:08Speaker 2: like when you get a shot like hot injecting. Yeah,
- 21:13Speaker 2: like the hot and I was like, what.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Freaking out? I freaked out, freaked out, freak Oh my god,
- 21:21Speaker 1: freaked out. Never been stung before. What were we talking about?
- 21:25Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 21:26Speaker 2: Now, all of a sudden, I'm just like I have
- 21:28Speaker 2: like the demonic urge to ask you, like, have you
- 21:31Speaker 2: ever potato peeled your fingers? Oh? Yeah, oh yeah, I'm
- 21:36Speaker 2: very feutful.
- 21:36Speaker 1: Oh we were talking about my dildos. Yes, the dildo
- 21:39Speaker 1: draish the story. This is the ADHD tangent episode A
- 21:43Speaker 1: little bit. It's okay because it all really it's fine.
- 21:46Speaker 1: So I texted my friend immediately, Brittany, and I was like,
- 21:49Speaker 1: you need I sent her a picture of the door,
- 21:51Speaker 1: and I was like, just so we know, we've kind
- 21:53Speaker 1: of talked about this, like haha, kidding, but like I
- 21:56Speaker 1: actually thought, like for real, but like for real, though,
- 22:00Speaker 1: this is your You're in charge of this drawer. Come
- 22:02Speaker 1: over immediately and make sure my mom doesn't look in there.
- 22:05Speaker 1: My mom and brother no not to look in the drawer.
- 22:08Speaker 1: So everyone knows about my drawer if you don't want
- 22:13Speaker 1: to see what's.
- 22:13Speaker 2: In there, okay, So like what's my status in relation
- 22:17Speaker 2: to the drawer?
- 22:18Speaker 1: If Brittany is with me and she also dies, you
- 22:20Speaker 1: take care of the door.
- 22:23Speaker 2: If it's like some sort of horrific car accident. I mean,
- 22:26Speaker 2: it's not going to be knocking, would but someone take it.
- 22:30Speaker 1: If everyone does creepy people drawer, I feel like I
- 22:35Speaker 1: want to. I want to, like ring the bell with Chris,
- 22:38Speaker 1: bring me salt.
- 22:39Speaker 2: Anyway, now I'm realizing that I really should be more
- 22:44Speaker 2: organized about my various unmentionables.
- 22:47Speaker 1: Oh are they scattered?
- 22:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like there's a little bit of scattering.
- 22:53Speaker 1: You got to keep them all in one. I'm like,
- 22:55Speaker 1: keep it separate, right so they don't touch in the night,
- 23:00Speaker 1: and get it on without you. I need a loop. Oh,
- 23:04Speaker 1: I should tell them why I fainted, because it's not
- 23:07Speaker 1: I don't have a medical condition. As far as I know,
- 23:11Speaker 1: nothing is wrong with me. Everything's okay. Did hurt my back,
- 23:15Speaker 1: did hurt? Then I overworked it and hurt it again.
- 23:18Speaker 1: It's a whole thing. I'm better now. But I had
- 23:23Speaker 1: vasal vagel, sin scope syncope, sinc pe syncope. Oh okay.
- 23:30Speaker 1: I was like, I'm saying it wrong. Do I see
- 23:32Speaker 1: basal vagel? Right? Yeah, I was more. Okay, I've said
- 23:36Speaker 1: that word more than the other one. Yeah, thank you.
- 23:40Speaker 1: It was that which is basically like your nervous system
- 23:43Speaker 1: gets over stimulated by something. It can happen a lot
- 23:48Speaker 1: of ways, like people see blood as like the most
- 23:50Speaker 1: common people see blood and they faint. And I didn't.
- 23:52Speaker 1: I didn't know that was just like an actual thing
- 23:55Speaker 1: that your like body was reacting to. I thought it
- 23:58Speaker 1: was like you just don't like blood, like it wasn't connecting.
- 24:01Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I mean it's like a it's part of
- 24:04Speaker 2: like a whole like chemical kind of reaction in your body.
- 24:08Speaker 2: Like I mean, just to put it in like the
- 24:10Speaker 2: most dumb, dumb terms, it's honestly like, yeah, I'm saying that,
- 24:13Speaker 2: like I know anything, but it is.
- 24:16Speaker 1: It is like a thing with me where if I
- 24:18Speaker 1: think because I had my pelvis broken, yeah, so if
- 24:22Speaker 1: I think something in my body is wrong or broken
- 24:26Speaker 1: and broken, because I've thought my shoulder was out before
- 24:30Speaker 1: and I almost had passed out, I remember that I
- 24:33Speaker 1: had to sit down. I didn't actually pass out, So yeah,
- 24:36Speaker 1: I think it was like I think my brain just
- 24:37Speaker 1: like like you were able to process something was wrong
- 24:41Speaker 1: in my body and it just gives me the freakouts.
- 24:45Speaker 1: Yeah I did.
- 24:48Speaker 2: No, I mean that is kind of one of those
- 24:50Speaker 2: like lizard brain things where it's like your your your
- 24:54Speaker 2: body and your brain like kind of trying to figure out,
- 24:57Speaker 2: like what's the best way to help you in this situation.
- 25:02Speaker 2: I don't know how fainting helps anybody in any situation. Yeah,
- 25:06Speaker 2: I feel like, especially with like the way that a
- 25:10Speaker 2: lot of people when that happens, and like what the
- 25:13Speaker 2: trigger is, you kind of go like, how would that.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Be the best option? Because like it's very possible if
- 25:19Speaker 1: I didn't hold on to the fucking sink and get blow,
- 25:21Speaker 1: I would have fallen and hit my head literally passing
- 25:24Speaker 1: out might have been fatal.
- 25:26Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah, I it could have been a
- 25:29Speaker 2: very different situation. Evolutionarily, there are certain things where it's
- 25:35Speaker 2: like it might have made sense at like a different
- 25:38Speaker 2: point in human history, and how much sense it makes
- 25:42Speaker 2: now is up for debate.
- 25:44Speaker 1: It's also very I mean it is possible I was
- 25:47Speaker 1: in pain, Like it was very painful and I just
- 25:50Speaker 1: didn't know it.
- 25:51Speaker 2: I didn't feel it. Yeah, because it was that so
- 25:56Speaker 2: you thought you were shot. You may have gone into
- 25:59Speaker 2: shock and like.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Yeah, it's so crazy.
- 26:04Speaker 2: No, I mean, like the things that your body and
- 26:06Speaker 2: your brain can do that like you're like.
- 26:09Speaker 1: I'm not.
- 26:10Speaker 2: I didn't ask for this. I didn't tell it to
- 26:13Speaker 2: do any of these things.
- 26:15Speaker 1: It's wild, but I like, I kind of get it
- 26:18Speaker 1: if you are in pain, if your body is in
- 26:20Speaker 1: pain and it just wants you to like pass out
- 26:22Speaker 1: to you like shut down, so you don't.
- 26:24Speaker 2: Yeah, because in a way, and that's what I was
- 26:26Speaker 2: gonna say, is like you know, with that response, it
- 26:29Speaker 2: seems like in a lot of situations, it's like how
- 26:31Speaker 2: can that be helpful? But if it's like a pain
- 26:35Speaker 2: trigger thing, it could be just that your body is
- 26:37Speaker 2: trying to help you by like okay, we go into
- 26:40Speaker 2: shut down. Mode, and it's like going to force you
- 26:44Speaker 2: to like kind of reboot or just like rest for
- 26:48Speaker 2: just long enough, but like maybe you can, you know,
- 26:51Speaker 2: recover yourself.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Maybe it was like, oh my god, we are in
- 26:56Speaker 1: a simulation.
- 26:56Speaker 2: Simulation, it's a simulation, you guys, I got read, I
- 27:01Speaker 2: got rebooted.
- 27:04Speaker 1: Never remind me again, witch pell did you take either?
- 27:08Speaker 1: It was also interesting just another note that I wasn't
- 27:12Speaker 1: out for that long because the podcast I was listening
- 27:14Speaker 1: to was like still kind of on the same topic
- 27:17Speaker 1: like kind of Judge, the kind of judge. Yeah, I'm
- 27:20Speaker 1: regretting now. I should have like gone back in the
- 27:23Speaker 1: moment and like rewound it to see the last thing
- 27:26Speaker 1: I had, like remember hearing to see exactly how long
- 27:29Speaker 1: I was out, but I didn't. I wasn't thinking that.
- 27:33Speaker 4: No.
- 27:33Speaker 2: I would imagine you're not thinking like super clearly, like
- 27:38Speaker 2: like yeah, yeah, but anyway, so that that's interesting.
- 27:42Speaker 1: I wasn't out for very long. I would say less.
- 27:45Speaker 2: Than a minute. I I think it was really that quick.
- 27:48Speaker 2: I think so, yeah, okay, because.
- 27:50Speaker 1: They really were still talking about and it's one of
- 27:53Speaker 1: those podcasts that changes subjects a lot. Okay, So yeah,
- 27:58Speaker 1: unless they did a tangent and then rounded about like
- 28:01Speaker 1: we just did and came back. I don't know that
- 28:04Speaker 1: could happen again. I don't remember what episode it was now.
- 28:07Speaker 1: I don't think like maybe if I hear it again
- 28:11Speaker 1: and then it triggers like the memory, like, oh I've
- 28:13Speaker 1: heard this before. Yeah, yeah, I think I would remember,
- 28:16Speaker 1: but I couldn't even tell you, like where it was
- 28:20Speaker 1: just a random in the middle of.
- 28:22Speaker 2: A bad cast, and I feel like you're processing so
- 28:25Speaker 2: much other stimuli at that point that like that is
- 28:29Speaker 2: just like such a microcosm of the experience. Yeah, gosh, Wow,
- 28:34Speaker 2: we've been talking for a really long time about me.
- 28:37Speaker 1: I guess I wasn't lying.
- 28:39Speaker 2: Uh, I know, I'm like sorry, I'm probably like totally.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Because like I don't have a ton of info. I
- 28:48Speaker 1: just wanted to come to you guys with kind of
- 28:50Speaker 1: like what other people experienced during near death experiences, because
- 28:54Speaker 1: there's different stages of it. I think I was just
- 28:58Speaker 1: like in the first stage, OK, where you're like thinking
- 29:03Speaker 1: you're about your experience death. Yeah.
- 29:06Speaker 2: Yeah, whether that's like factually accurate or not, I feel
- 29:09Speaker 2: like your brain processing that is it.
- 29:13Speaker 1: Yeah, it was real at the time. Yeah, for and
- 29:16Speaker 1: I can see why you like.
- 29:18Speaker 2: It feels like I can see how you kind of
- 29:21Speaker 2: got there. Yeah.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Yeah, Well, do you want to talk about some near
- 29:26Speaker 1: death experiences?
- 29:27Speaker 4: No?
- 29:27Speaker 2: I think we should end it here, too bad. That's
- 29:30Speaker 2: what this episode is about. Okay, great, we're done talk
- 29:33Speaker 2: about me. We're going to talk about some other people.
- 29:36Speaker 1: There were three people from the Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington,
- 29:42Speaker 1: in December nineteen eighty one. Oh, okay, who wrote a
- 29:46Speaker 1: research paper on near death experiences in the Pacific Northwest
- 29:50Speaker 1: American population.
- 29:51Speaker 2: Oh, I really want to read this actually, yeah, yeah,
- 29:55Speaker 2: I can send it to you.
- 29:56Speaker 1: It's like twenty pages. It's really not that long, just
- 29:58Speaker 1: like some light bedtime. Yeah, and honestly it is. I
- 30:02Speaker 1: read it last night before bed it.
- 30:08Speaker 2: Uh, the Evergreen Study, I don't know if that's part
- 30:11Speaker 2: of the title. That's what it says. And it's James H.
- 30:15Speaker 2: Lindley Sethan, It's se.
- 30:18Speaker 1: T h y N, which is like a cool name. Sethan, Yeah,
- 30:22Speaker 1: Seth and Bryan and Bob Connelly. So they all did
- 30:26Speaker 1: this a research paper, I'm assuming. Yeah. They based it
- 30:30Speaker 1: off of two other popular near death experience research papers
- 30:34Speaker 1: that I will put Okay in my I did not
- 30:37Speaker 1: write them down, but I'll put them in the sources, okay,
- 30:42Speaker 1: but they they kind of worked off that and then
- 30:44Speaker 1: did their own research. And since this is specifically Pacific Northwest,
- 30:48Speaker 1: I'm going to just talk about this research paper and
- 30:51Speaker 1: not go into like the older, more popular, well known research.
- 30:55Speaker 2: Nineteen eighty one is like already a few years ago,
- 31:00Speaker 2: and anything older than that is like, okay, like you know,
- 31:04Speaker 2: not exactly E merging sign.
- 31:06Speaker 1: Yeah, And I don't know if I didn't really look
- 31:08Speaker 1: into it, but the I don't know if there's more
- 31:11Speaker 1: recent The one that they're referring to came out the
- 31:15Speaker 1: year before. It's like nineteen eighty and then one of
- 31:18Speaker 1: them was like the sixties or seventies or something. It
- 31:21Speaker 1: was like earlier, So I don't know if there's anything
- 31:23Speaker 1: after that. I didn't really look into that.
- 31:25Speaker 2: There's got to be more recent study than that, certainly.
- 31:29Speaker 1: But I'm sure. But we're going to talk about this
- 31:31Speaker 1: one because it's specific Northwest and we're PNW A nasty podcast,
- 31:36Speaker 1: which I think I forgot to say, or I did.
- 31:39Speaker 1: That's okay, I was gonna let it lay. We forgive
- 31:41Speaker 1: me because this episode is about me and I just
- 31:43Speaker 1: was like so excited to start talking again. Yeah, because
- 31:46Speaker 1: I haven't talked in a while. So I feel like
- 31:48Speaker 1: I'm like really chatterboxy today. Hello, why do I need
- 31:53Speaker 1: a podcast? Yeah, it's hard to say. I like to talk.
- 31:57Speaker 1: So in their paper, they said that they find the
- 31:58Speaker 1: most intriguing part of near death experiences is that it
- 32:02Speaker 1: kind of doesn't vary which from person to person. It's
- 32:06Speaker 1: not the differences, but it's the similarities that okay really consist.
- 32:12Speaker 1: Not all people experience the same exact thing, but like
- 32:15Speaker 1: the overall the commonalities are very very similar.
- 32:19Speaker 2: Yeah, Okay, Yeah, I feel like there's I mean, and
- 32:23Speaker 2: I have researched this in depth, but I feel like
- 32:26Speaker 2: everything that I've read, understood and consumed kind of indicates
- 32:31Speaker 2: that there are just like certain commonalities that most people report.
- 32:35Speaker 1: I feel like the one everyone knows if you think
- 32:37Speaker 1: about like dying or like go to the life. Yeah,
- 32:40Speaker 1: and that is part of this. It's one of the stages,
- 32:43Speaker 1: but it's not the first stage.
- 32:45Speaker 4: Oh.
- 32:46Speaker 1: The first stage is overwhelming peace, in which all like
- 32:52Speaker 1: pain ceases.
- 32:54Speaker 2: Okay, so that's like a definite parallel for you, right, Definitely,
- 32:58Speaker 2: it says oh, it's just got to I know me too,
- 33:02Speaker 2: the feeling of like calmness, acceptance, which is definitely like
- 33:08Speaker 2: I had that.
- 33:09Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure, I was like okay, like I'm not
- 33:10Speaker 1: quite done, but I'm accepting. Yeah, this is where I am.
- 33:14Speaker 1: And I think they'll they'll kind of maybe go into
- 33:18Speaker 1: this in a minute. But that's kind of I think
- 33:21Speaker 1: your brain like maybe protecting you a little bit, like, okay,
- 33:25Speaker 1: so you're not scared in my final moments.
- 33:28Speaker 2: Yeah, and that makes sense. I feel like the closest
- 33:30Speaker 2: thing that I can say, like is a parallel for
- 33:35Speaker 2: me is like when I've had to take like benadru
- 33:39Speaker 2: it just sort of is like shut down, like and
- 33:43Speaker 2: it's just sort of.
- 33:44Speaker 1: Like this is happening, Yeah, very calm, very peaceful.
- 33:50Speaker 2: I don't think that's exactly like what they're just I
- 33:53Speaker 2: mean I kind of feels passing out a little bit. Yeah, yeah,
- 33:56Speaker 2: I mean it is basically passing out.
- 33:57Speaker 1: You're just yeah, you know what's happen on purpose.
- 34:01Speaker 2: Yeah, I just feel like the like I've always heard
- 34:05Speaker 2: it being described as a bit more euphoric than what I.
- 34:10Speaker 1: Have experienced then like in that instance, and I think
- 34:14Speaker 1: some people do go into like a very extreme euphoria
- 34:18Speaker 1: and well we're going to get into that actually right now,
- 34:20Speaker 1: which I did not have that like extreme. It was
- 34:22Speaker 1: just calm and peaceful and like I was.
- 34:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I think like people experience I probably on a spectrum.
- 34:29Speaker 1: I don't know. There was a woman who was a
- 34:32Speaker 1: drowning victim and she described her experience was that she
- 34:37Speaker 1: was in agony and then like all of a sudden,
- 34:40Speaker 1: it just became warm and floaty feeling. So she didn't
- 34:43Speaker 1: start off like being like scared and in pain and
- 34:47Speaker 1: then yeah, it all of a sudden, wasn't.
- 34:50Speaker 2: I have always heard that drowning is supposed to be
- 34:53Speaker 2: one of the most peaceful ways to die. Yeah, I
- 34:57Speaker 2: know some people have a really hard time imagine that,
- 35:00Speaker 2: but like as opposed to like kind of the other
- 35:02Speaker 2: end of the elemental spectrum, like death by fire to
- 35:07Speaker 2: be like kind of.
- 35:08Speaker 1: The most horrific. But I'm almost thinking, well, I don't okay,
- 35:13Speaker 1: I don't have any facts to support this at all,
- 35:15Speaker 1: but it's just like where my brain is going, drowning
- 35:18Speaker 1: you have kind of a chance of survival because you
- 35:21Speaker 1: like pull you out of the water, do CPR. So
- 35:23Speaker 1: I feel like maybe there might be more people who
- 35:25Speaker 1: have drowned and experienced near death. Yeah, I mean obviously,
- 35:30Speaker 1: I don't know. It just seems logical to me. Yeah,
- 35:33Speaker 1: so maybe like it's peaceful in every type of like dying.
- 35:38Speaker 1: But that's just the more people come back from drowning,
- 35:41Speaker 1: So I could see that.
- 35:43Speaker 2: I just think that, like, but I get it at
- 35:45Speaker 2: least from like the scientific like a biological standpoint. They
- 35:50Speaker 2: say that like the point at which like the certain
- 35:55Speaker 2: brain chemicals are released when you are experiencing drown and
- 36:01Speaker 2: then like like oppose, is.
- 36:03Speaker 1: It drowning like specifically or just death in general.
- 36:07Speaker 2: I don't know that it's actually death in general. I
- 36:10Speaker 2: think there's like certain like chemical reactions that are that
- 36:14Speaker 2: are occurring because of like the the way that.
- 36:19Speaker 1: You're experiencing death. Interesting.
- 36:21Speaker 2: The other thing is, and this also has to do
- 36:24Speaker 2: with how like the manner of death, right, But the
- 36:28Speaker 2: other thing that kind of goes along with that is
- 36:33Speaker 2: that like scientifically biologically they know that there are certain
- 36:40Speaker 2: sensations just because of how like nerves and your brain
- 36:46Speaker 2: and your other aspects of your body how they work
- 36:49Speaker 2: that like you will feel whether it's you know, smoke
- 36:56Speaker 2: inhalation or actual physical burning.
- 36:59Speaker 1: They know, there's certain things.
- 37:01Speaker 2: That you will feel until you like physically succumb and
- 37:08Speaker 2: actually are dead.
- 37:09Speaker 1: Yeah, but we did talk about like earlier, maybe I'm
- 37:13Speaker 1: hoping like your brain would shut off the pain, yesh
- 37:18Speaker 1: and just.
- 37:18Speaker 2: And I think like the shock response could also, like
- 37:22Speaker 2: I think that can play into almost any type.
- 37:24Speaker 1: Of of death. But I that's the thing.
- 37:30Speaker 2: That's what I hate about this is that like like
- 37:34Speaker 2: who can.
- 37:34Speaker 1: Say, I know, you know, but drowning does like your
- 37:39Speaker 1: floating waters, yeah, very peaceful, it's quiet, it's kind of
- 37:42Speaker 1: a return.
- 37:44Speaker 2: Yeah, right, because it's like that's why humans like water,
- 37:48Speaker 2: because it reminds us of like the amniotic fluid.
- 37:51Speaker 1: And and that is not to say that I want
- 37:54Speaker 1: to drown or I wish drowning on anybody like that
- 37:57Speaker 1: someone you know has drowned. That's I'm very sorry, super
- 38:01Speaker 1: horrific I've had I've had that shit, not personally, but
- 38:05Speaker 1: like in past family like ancestry, there's drowning and like,
- 38:11Speaker 1: so I have a very It's okay, I have a very. Uh,
- 38:15Speaker 1: I have a fear of water. So like I get it,
- 38:19Speaker 1: like I feel like my people crave water. I love water.
- 38:23Speaker 1: It's just I do have that a drowning fear, and
- 38:26Speaker 1: I really think it's like from like my DNA, like
- 38:29Speaker 1: my ancestors, my ancestor died young, as like a drowning.
- 38:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 38:34Speaker 2: No, they say that that is something that can be
- 38:36Speaker 2: imparted in your DNA. They're finding more and more that
- 38:40Speaker 2: there are certain things that like it. They don't understand
- 38:45Speaker 2: how exactly, but that, you know, that's increasingly kind of
- 38:50Speaker 2: the emerging belief. I believe it even in the scientific community.
- 38:54Speaker 1: So I don't know anyway, we're just we're not scientists.
- 38:57Speaker 1: We're just going over this research paper. It's so interesting,
- 39:01Speaker 1: it is, we have more to talk about. So there
- 39:04Speaker 1: was also a person who uh was hemorrhaging as a child,
- 39:10Speaker 1: and they said that they they felt so good though that
- 39:17Speaker 1: and like at peace and happy that they almost like
- 39:19Speaker 1: they felt really guilty that they were feeling these things, knowing,
- 39:23Speaker 1: oh wow, that they were like dying basically, but they
- 39:27Speaker 1: felt so good. So that's that's kind of like how
- 39:31Speaker 1: I felt.
- 39:31Speaker 2: Definitely like that's like euphouria, like you were saying, like
- 39:35Speaker 2: I didn't feel so good, but I felt guilty that
- 39:38Speaker 2: I wasn't, like why am I not more upset. Yeah,
- 39:41Speaker 2: like I was okay with that, Yeah happening, and like
- 39:46Speaker 2: that's where the guilty part came in.
- 39:48Speaker 1: Yeah, and that makes sense. I get that. I don't know.
- 39:51Speaker 1: I like the sense of like painlessness, like take your body,
- 39:54Speaker 1: taking care of you at the end, and like I
- 39:56Speaker 1: make sure that you're not like scared and in pain.
- 39:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 40:00Speaker 1: It's a really good thought. Yeah, and it makes you
- 40:02Speaker 1: like it makes me not really scared. And that's very
- 40:05Speaker 1: common too, Like it makes people. Once people experience this
- 40:07Speaker 1: and come back, they're not as scared of dying because
- 40:11Speaker 1: they know, like it's going to be okay, it's peaceful
- 40:14Speaker 1: and yeah, not scary. I still don't want to, don't
- 40:18Speaker 1: get me wrong.
- 40:19Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I think the manner of death matters to
- 40:24Speaker 2: a lot of people, definitely.
- 40:26Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. So in this research paper they say the
- 40:29Speaker 1: first stage of death is kind of lea kind of lee.
- 40:35Speaker 1: It's kind of the most easily explainable. Uh, and we
- 40:38Speaker 1: kind of already talked about it, like biologically, the peacefulness
- 40:44Speaker 1: is kind of just what happens when you die, Like
- 40:48Speaker 1: your brain is releasing chemicals DMT, isn't it in doorphins? Okay,
- 40:53Speaker 1: there we go. So your brain is like releasing endorphins,
- 40:56Speaker 1: which are like morphine basically, well that's what this research.
- 41:01Speaker 1: They're morphine like substances.
- 41:03Speaker 2: Okay, I'm just gonna read this little part here dimethyl
- 41:07Speaker 2: trip to mean. Some theories suggest that the psychedelic compound
- 41:11Speaker 2: d MT is released in large amounts by the pineal
- 41:15Speaker 2: gland during death. However, this is largely unproven speculation and
- 41:20Speaker 2: other neurochemicals are considered more plausible explanations for the effects
- 41:25Speaker 2: of ND.
- 41:26Speaker 1: I have Okay, I have heard this, and it's not
- 41:28Speaker 1: recent in my brain because it's not in this research paper,
- 41:32Speaker 1: I think because it's more recent. Yes, I definitely have
- 41:35Speaker 1: heard that, Yeah, which I think is possible. Yea too,
- 41:39Speaker 1: So we just trip. So they think that that happens
- 41:44Speaker 1: not only so you're not in pain or fearful when
- 41:48Speaker 1: you're dying, but they think it is kind of more
- 41:50Speaker 1: of a defensive mechanism to keep you like alive, and
- 41:55Speaker 1: it not incapacity, incocapacitating, in facitated, in life threatening situations,
- 42:03Speaker 1: So they it's kind of keeping you mobile.
- 42:08Speaker 2: Like sustaining, yes or whatever, like body systems or brain function,
- 42:14Speaker 2: so you can have time to save yourself or maybe
- 42:17Speaker 2: somebody else too, so yeah, they think that's kind of
- 42:20Speaker 2: why that happens.
- 42:22Speaker 1: This has also been something that they've noticed in terminally
- 42:25Speaker 1: ill patients. So there's kind of like a period of
- 42:28Speaker 1: remission before dying. And I can't remember. I just watched
- 42:34Speaker 1: this movie or the show called Dying for Sex. Have
- 42:37Speaker 1: you seen that one yet? I haven't. No, it's really
- 42:40Speaker 1: really good. It's this person who's got cancer and she's
- 42:45Speaker 1: terminally ill. She knows she's going to be dying, and
- 42:48Speaker 1: so she wants to like have I don't think she's
- 42:50Speaker 1: had an orgasm or something, so like that's her goal
- 42:52Speaker 1: before she died. Okay, haven't I mean get it. It's
- 42:55Speaker 1: really good and like it's like not just about sex.
- 42:58Speaker 1: It's like about life and family and friendship.
- 43:01Speaker 2: I feel like that's just about processing so many aspects
- 43:05Speaker 2: of the human experience.
- 43:06Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it's a really beautiful movie. But they do
- 43:10Speaker 1: kind of show that part of it of like her
- 43:12Speaker 1: little bit of remission while she's in hospice. And yeah,
- 43:15Speaker 1: they call it something and I can't remember what. It's
- 43:19Speaker 1: some cute, like beautiful name. But I love that. Yeah,
- 43:22Speaker 1: I really just watch the show. We don't need to
- 43:24Speaker 1: look everything up for you. You figure it out. So
- 43:26Speaker 1: this is a little bit different from the first stage
- 43:29Speaker 1: of death. It's a little bit less, like the feelings
- 43:31Speaker 1: of euphoria are a little bit less. So it's not
- 43:35Speaker 1: quite the same. And I'm I'm not sure on the
- 43:37Speaker 1: research as of this research paper wasn't about that, so
- 43:41Speaker 1: they didn't really say, like why they think that happens
- 43:44Speaker 1: with terminally ill patients towards the end of life.
- 43:47Speaker 2: So they didn't just like research process and analyze every
- 43:52Speaker 2: aspect of death forever.
- 43:53Speaker 1: No, they didn't. And I didn't go down that. I
- 43:56Speaker 1: didn't pull it that little thread because you know it,
- 43:58Speaker 1: we're getting a little lengthy or two, so we don't
- 44:01Speaker 1: need to just pull every thread. But I just thought
- 44:03Speaker 1: that was interesting to bring up. But it still happens
- 44:06Speaker 1: in some form, whether you're dying, like in the moment,
- 44:10Speaker 1: or if you're.
- 44:11Speaker 2: Like getting ready to yeah, because I think the same
- 44:16Speaker 2: kind of thing. Yeah, yeah, because there can be like
- 44:20Speaker 2: a protracted experience of dying.
- 44:23Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, so you're ready to move on the second stage.
- 44:27Speaker 1: I don't know, maybe I'm dying, Okay. This is kind
- 44:31Speaker 1: of a sense of separation from your body. So this
- 44:34Speaker 1: is an out of body experience. Okay, okay, okay, yeah, yeah,
- 44:39Speaker 1: so where you're then this does happen to people when
- 44:43Speaker 1: you're not dying, when you're sleeping, right, it happens to
- 44:47Speaker 1: people like in surgery sometimes.
- 44:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I was going to say out of body is
- 44:51Speaker 2: something like that's an experience people have aside from death.
- 44:55Speaker 2: But it's interesting that it's like a commonality with near
- 44:59Speaker 2: death experiences.
- 45:00Speaker 1: Yeah, it is kind of interesting because it just makes
- 45:03Speaker 1: you think, like your consciousness is it can leave your
- 45:06Speaker 1: body while you're still alive too, that I can come back.
- 45:11Speaker 2: I just want, like all of the the bits to
- 45:15Speaker 2: just just stay.
- 45:17Speaker 1: In it's assigned seats and you you do until your
- 45:23Speaker 1: time is up.
- 45:24Speaker 2: Because please don't stay in my body when I'm actually dead.
- 45:28Speaker 1: Please consciousness leave my body that's.
- 45:34Speaker 2: Alive.
- 45:34Speaker 1: Oh wait, same fears are blocked.
- 45:38Speaker 2: Take a drink plus the realm boys gun.
- 45:44Speaker 1: Some people say when they experience this, they kind of
- 45:47Speaker 1: like they're able to move away from their body. They
- 45:50Speaker 1: can like leave the room, they can see things that
- 45:53Speaker 1: are going on in other rooms. They things that are
- 45:57Speaker 1: going on, So they'll oftentimes come back with like, hey,
- 46:01Speaker 1: this person was wearing like this specific shirt out in
- 46:04Speaker 1: the waiting room and they hadn't come even in the
- 46:07Speaker 1: room yet, yeah, or something that they're talking about out there.
- 46:10Speaker 1: So the comeback with kind of like proof was like, wait,
- 46:12Speaker 1: how the fuck did you get that?
- 46:14Speaker 2: Like these things that it's like, there's just not any
- 46:17Speaker 2: way that you could have known this information.
- 46:21Speaker 1: Yeah, there's one instance where this person reported that they
- 46:28Speaker 1: were floating above their body in the hospital bed and
- 46:31Speaker 1: they looked at their body and it was like a
- 46:33Speaker 1: greenish gray color. I don't like that, and so they
- 46:36Speaker 1: just like were like, oh, I look dead, and then
- 46:39Speaker 1: the nurse was yelling a coated message over the intercom.
- 46:43Speaker 1: Then it like dawned on this person. They were actually
- 46:45Speaker 1: they're like, oh shit, I am coding.
- 46:47Speaker 2: They were dying.
- 46:48Speaker 1: So they experienced like watching their own body. That would
- 46:53Speaker 1: be that would be very intent. Like this game, the
- 46:55Speaker 1: deeper stages do get more intense. Yeah, So the third stage,
- 47:00Speaker 1: this is where people say they move into like avoid
- 47:05Speaker 1: or maybe traveling down along tunnel. So this is kind
- 47:09Speaker 1: of like light at the end of the tunnel, but
- 47:12Speaker 1: we're not at the light part yet. We're in the dark, right,
- 47:15Speaker 1: which doesn't sound great. No, they think this is kind
- 47:19Speaker 1: of like the intermediate stage, like a what's that called
- 47:22Speaker 1: like kind of like a purgatory stage. Yeah, like an
- 47:25Speaker 1: in between you're in between leaving like stage two or
- 47:30Speaker 1: you're like leaving your body.
- 47:31Speaker 2: This is where you're traveling into another place basically, right,
- 47:36Speaker 2: And this is the thing that makes little the Catholics
- 47:40Speaker 2: loser shit is it?
- 47:42Speaker 1: Yeah? Purgatory is like Oh.
- 47:44Speaker 2: That's like that's why, like because you could like get
- 47:47Speaker 2: stuck there, right, That's that's purgatory. It's like you're between
- 47:51Speaker 2: heaven and how kind of you're like between this world
- 47:54Speaker 2: and the next, and you're not in You're like in
- 47:57Speaker 2: the in between.
- 47:58Speaker 1: This is like you either get sucked up or sucked down,
- 48:01Speaker 1: sucked off, or sucked sucked under.
- 48:05Speaker 2: No, but like that's why, like you know, uh, people's
- 48:09Speaker 2: like grandparents are like, you know, like you gotta get
- 48:14Speaker 2: you got to get a baby baptized, because unbaptized, Oh.
- 48:18Speaker 1: You just get stuck in the tunnel forever.
- 48:20Speaker 2: Yeah, which which is why you know that religion is
- 48:24Speaker 2: like in some ways really kind of shitty because like
- 48:27Speaker 2: how do you take this completely innocent, faultless creature of
- 48:32Speaker 2: you know, a baby that is unbaptized or I think
- 48:36Speaker 2: also unborn babies. If you're looking for something that's gonna
- 48:41Speaker 2: make you real sad just for no good goddamn reason,
- 48:44Speaker 2: that just makes.
- 48:45Speaker 1: Me real angry.
- 48:46Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I think and that refers to like even
- 48:49Speaker 2: like still born, right, that's not like that seems like
- 48:53Speaker 2: why are we going to make people feel guilty for
- 48:56Speaker 2: things even were so frequently you cannot control. That's okay,
- 49:01Speaker 2: that's neat nice. I love that we added that in
- 49:05Speaker 2: this episode.
- 49:05Speaker 1: Yeah, and you can cut that fact teck it.
- 49:08Speaker 2: I don't know, that's my understanding, and I believe that though. Yeah,
- 49:13Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure about it. If I'm being honest.
- 49:16Speaker 1: I think we should leave it in. But that is
- 49:18Speaker 1: interesting though, that you bring up other religions, because that
- 49:21Speaker 1: is something that they brought up as throughout all the
- 49:23Speaker 1: different religions, there's that's like things sort of similar parallel. Yeah, yeah,
- 49:29Speaker 1: but in certain stages, like the ending stages, depending on
- 49:33Speaker 1: your religion, like things yeah, are different, things get different,
- 49:36Speaker 1: Things do get different, which is interesting that your beliefs
- 49:40Speaker 1: and thoughts in your mortal brain also are translating over
- 49:47Speaker 1: when you past.
- 49:48Speaker 2: Like it's it's impacting, it's you know, influencing your experience
- 49:54Speaker 2: in a way potentially.
- 49:55Speaker 1: Yeah, what is and by interesting I mean horror? Fy oh,
- 50:00Speaker 1: it's not scary to die. This is the lesson in
- 50:04Speaker 1: this Episodemagods jobin limbo. Limbo. That's another one up.
- 50:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 50:12Speaker 2: Yeah, So Catholics no longer officially teach that unbaptized babies
- 50:17Speaker 2: go to a place called limbo.
- 50:19Speaker 1: No longer, but they did at one point.
- 50:21Speaker 2: So I think that's I don't know how purgatory and
- 50:24Speaker 2: limbo differ.
- 50:26Speaker 1: Oh okay, so I love this. This is really fun. Okay.
- 50:30Speaker 2: So Limbo is a theoretical state no longer considered official
- 50:36Speaker 2: Catholic doctrine, where unbaptized infants or righteous people who died
- 50:40Speaker 2: before Christ were thought to reside experiencing natural joy, but
- 50:45Speaker 2: not the divine vision of heaven. Oh so they're like,
- 50:50Speaker 2: it's like, okay, it's like you gotta b minus instead
- 50:55Speaker 2: of an A purgatory, in contrast, is a confirmed Catholic
- 51:01Speaker 2: doctrine in a state of temporary purification after death for
- 51:06Speaker 2: those destined for heaven, cleansing them of remaining imperfections so
- 51:11Speaker 2: they can enter God's presence.
- 51:13Speaker 1: Ah.
- 51:15Speaker 2: So, people who were baptized, die go into purgatory, get
- 51:20Speaker 2: cleans this fucking then.
- 51:21Speaker 1: Go to heaven if they need it. So it's kind
- 51:24Speaker 1: of you're gonna need it because you're human and all
- 51:27Speaker 1: of us. Wow.
- 51:28Speaker 2: Also that's the whole thing, right is it's like, be
- 51:31Speaker 2: really really good, okay, but if you're not, you'll just
- 51:35Speaker 2: get cleansed and purgatory and it's fine, but you better
- 51:38Speaker 2: be fucking baptized though, you know, assuming that you you know,
- 51:41Speaker 2: you ate the right crackers at the right you know
- 51:45Speaker 2: you had the baby splashed, you know all that, so
- 51:49Speaker 2: you can go to the light. The fourth stage is
- 51:51Speaker 2: the light.
- 51:51Speaker 1: We're at the light, you guys. We're at the light.
- 51:53Speaker 1: We're walking into it. Okay. This is almost always described
- 51:58Speaker 1: as white or gold olden, or like an indescribable brilliance,
- 52:03Speaker 1: like just something so bright that you don't even know
- 52:05Speaker 1: what color it is, which to me would be white.
- 52:08Speaker 2: But yeah, yeah, or like almost that like iridescent like
- 52:12Speaker 2: effect of like a rainbow, you know, like when like
- 52:15Speaker 2: a crystal catches the light.
- 52:17Speaker 1: That's what my heaven looks like. Yeah, for crystals, crystal light. Yeah,
- 52:23Speaker 1: I love that. Yeah, I'm glad I didn't see my heaven.
- 52:27Speaker 2: Though yet we didn't get to stage four, and I'm like,
- 52:30Speaker 2: Copeter is about to get to stage.
- 52:31Speaker 1: Four though, oh oh no.
- 52:33Speaker 2: One person described it as like a grid of light,
- 52:36Speaker 2: like a spider one.
- 52:38Speaker 1: Oh and I thought that was really cool. That's interesting,
- 52:41Speaker 1: So now I want spider webs of like rainbow crystal light,
- 52:45Speaker 1: refract refracting, refracting, refracting. Yeah, so this one, this is
- 52:50Speaker 1: kind of where they think you get transported. So if
- 52:53Speaker 1: you go through the light, then you're in a different
- 52:56Speaker 1: stage in another world. So they technically have a fifth
- 52:59Speaker 1: stage that they called inner setting. Like getting to the
- 53:02Speaker 1: light is one thing, but then like going through the
- 53:04Speaker 1: light and entering another world or another dimension or whatever,
- 53:08Speaker 1: that's what people say it. It's like, oh so stage
- 53:12Speaker 1: five is going to that other world. Oh okay, yeah,
- 53:16Speaker 1: oh sorry, okay, back to the light. Yeah, this is
- 53:19Speaker 1: kind of where it depends on like your religion.
- 53:20Speaker 2: Some people think the light is like God or Jesus
- 53:24Speaker 2: or oh yeah, like like a religion figure.
- 53:27Speaker 1: Yeah, like a deity. But I think some people actually see,
- 53:30Speaker 1: like when they go into stage five, I think they
- 53:33Speaker 1: see like built the actual figures of these people. So
- 53:39Speaker 1: it kind of that's like where your religion. I'm curious,
- 53:43Speaker 1: like what I would see. I know some people see
- 53:45Speaker 1: like Elvis. Isn't that weird? Oh I kind of love that.
- 53:49Speaker 1: I've heard that in a lot of kind I kind
- 53:51Speaker 1: of love that.
- 53:52Speaker 2: I know. Okay, I would see Taylor Swift obviously, like
- 53:59Speaker 2: all a, you know, Hurricane Candle. Yeah, even if she's
- 54:03Speaker 2: not dead yet. Oh yeah, no, for sure, my Jesus
- 54:07Speaker 2: is Tailor's with. Yeah.
- 54:10Speaker 1: Also in this place, most people describe it like a
- 54:13Speaker 1: natural setting like a field, or would see a meadow,
- 54:17Speaker 1: a valley, a garden like something like outdoorsy. It's not yeah,
- 54:21Speaker 1: like a natural habitat. Some people say they spend time, Well,
- 54:25Speaker 1: I guess the people that come back from this, because
- 54:28Speaker 1: if you're not coming back, you're not reporting it. Yeah,
- 54:31Speaker 1: but they say they spend time there, like reflecting on
- 54:33Speaker 1: their life and kind of deciding if they want to
- 54:35Speaker 1: come back. Oh interesting, Okay, yeah, yeah, I don't know.
- 54:41Speaker 1: I'm not saying like you always have a choice and
- 54:43Speaker 1: like the people who die choose not to come back.
- 54:45Speaker 1: Like I'm not saying that this is just what people
- 54:48Speaker 1: are reporting. Yeah, when they have come back, I mean, no,
- 54:52Speaker 1: nobody knows what happens over there, but I'm sure it's
- 54:55Speaker 1: not the case for every single person like choose to lead.
- 54:58Speaker 2: Right, well, and I think probably near death versus like
- 55:04Speaker 2: actual you know death, like it's you know sometimes I
- 55:09Speaker 2: think like that. Yeah, yeah, there's I don't I don't
- 55:12Speaker 2: know that there could always be a choice because it's
- 55:15Speaker 2: like well sorry, And I think that could just be
- 55:17Speaker 2: like their perception of it too. Maybe yeah, because they
- 55:20Speaker 2: were there thinking on things, maybe they perceived that they
- 55:25Speaker 2: chose to come back other than like they were going
- 55:27Speaker 2: to come back anyway.
- 55:28Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, so it could just be.
- 55:31Speaker 2: First maybe that's how your brain allows you to process that. Yeah,
- 55:34Speaker 2: that could be too. I definitely don't have the answer there.
- 55:38Speaker 4: Uh.
- 55:38Speaker 1: This did happen though in a book I was reading recently,
- 55:41Speaker 1: and it was very sad because it was this what
- 55:44Speaker 1: this girl's best friend died and she wanted her to
- 55:48Speaker 1: come back so bad and she decided not to that
- 55:51Speaker 1: she wanted to die, but then the girl brought her
- 55:54Speaker 1: back anyway, I don't know, and then she was very
- 55:57Speaker 1: not happy with her life. Yeah, I'm not going to
- 56:00Speaker 1: say what happens. There's one thing people experience, and it's
- 56:04Speaker 1: not very common. It's kind of it's like nine percent
- 56:08Speaker 1: in this report, but they experience a life review. Oh,
- 56:13Speaker 1: and they think it's it happens when it's unexpected, a
- 56:19Speaker 1: very sudden like a heart attack or just something very
- 56:23Speaker 1: unexpected happens. Is when you go into the life review.
- 56:27Speaker 1: That's what they think interesting. And it's kind of like
- 56:30Speaker 1: it play it literally is what it sounds like. It
- 56:32Speaker 1: like it plays scenes from your entire life, like in
- 56:36Speaker 1: chronological order. Oh. It kind of like makes you like evaluate.
- 56:41Speaker 2: Review your life like it's what it sounds like, life review.
- 56:45Speaker 1: That's so interesting. And I really don't know why. Maybe
- 56:49Speaker 1: it's just so you come back with like some perspective
- 56:52Speaker 1: on your life and like maybe things to change. And yeah,
- 56:55Speaker 1: and that does happen, you know. Most people report like
- 56:58Speaker 1: they do change their change their life after Yeah, they
- 57:03Speaker 1: appreciate things more, you know. Yeah, just gives you, I think,
- 57:10Speaker 1: I don't know, just like a sense of peace about life.
- 57:12Speaker 1: That's how I feel about it anyway.
- 57:14Speaker 2: Yeah, And I guess it could just definitely depend on
- 57:16Speaker 2: like your religion though for sure.
- 57:19Speaker 1: I feel like that's got to be very individual. And
- 57:23Speaker 1: like the lack of fear of death is a very
- 57:25Speaker 1: common thing too after experiences. I think I said that earlier,
- 57:28Speaker 1: but just in case they didn't. So they're saying they
- 57:34Speaker 1: don't really have they have an explanation maybe for stage one,
- 57:37Speaker 1: but they don't. They really don't have any explanations for
- 57:41Speaker 1: any of the stages after that follow Yeah, okay, like
- 57:44Speaker 1: the out of body, the light of the tunnel, like
- 57:47Speaker 1: seeing I can see that, the meadow, seeing God, they
- 57:50Speaker 1: really don't know. They don't know if it's your brain
- 57:53Speaker 1: just firing its last you know, hallucinations, right, dreams, I
- 58:00Speaker 1: don't know, Yah, it's passing away. There needs to be
- 58:04Speaker 1: just more studies on this. I think it's so interesting,
- 58:07Speaker 1: but like it kind of impossible to study really because
- 58:11Speaker 1: you don't know when someone's about to have a near
- 58:12Speaker 1: death experience. Obviously, you can't talk to people who haven't
- 58:15Speaker 1: come back from them. Hard to do. And it's like hearsay,
- 58:20Speaker 1: like you can't prove it other than like.
- 58:24Speaker 2: The people who have out of body and like see
- 58:26Speaker 2: details of that's right, the only like that thing you
- 58:29Speaker 2: can prove really, Yeah, And they feel like to a
- 58:32Speaker 2: certain degree it's like it. I think the argument could
- 58:35Speaker 2: be that it's like is that necessarily conclusive proof or
- 58:40Speaker 2: is that kind of like, is that really more categorized
- 58:44Speaker 2: as evidence of something? It doesn't maybe conclusively prove anything,
- 58:50Speaker 2: but it seems like really strong evidence or Yeah, I
- 58:55Speaker 2: feel like that's tough because I think we think of
- 58:58Speaker 2: things that are proof.
- 59:00Speaker 1: But evidence is proof, right, I don't know. Like I said,
- 59:05Speaker 1: we're not scientists, we're remote because we had to finish
- 59:13Speaker 1: up different day. So yeah, we're here doing taro for
- 59:16Speaker 1: the near death experiences or indies for sure. I don't
- 59:21Speaker 1: know if we even talked about that. Indies if you're nicety.
- 59:24Speaker 2: Yeah, indies if you're nice day or if you got
- 59:28Speaker 2: really sucked into that show the OA oh during COVID.
- 59:34Speaker 2: Hey you can't really see my altar too well behind me.
- 59:38Speaker 2: But I have a little fun headstone I just got
- 59:41Speaker 2: that says literally dead, and I thought that that worked
- 59:44Speaker 2: perfectly for this episode. It's so perfect because he can't
- 59:49Speaker 2: use this for like a true crime episode because that
- 59:51Speaker 2: is insensitive as fuck.
- 59:53Speaker 1: It's not great. It wouldn't be great for that. No
- 59:56Speaker 1: kind of funny when you're talking about near death and
- 59:58Speaker 1: your coming back from the because you were literally dead
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: and I was not. So it's still funny, and so
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: the tarot deck reason today I keep moving my head
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: from the microphone. It is Christina Ricci's.
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: Tarot deck called Cat full of Spiders, and my mom
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: got it for me for my birthday, I think my
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: birth Yeah, my birthday, I think whatever. My mom got
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: it for me at some point I may and I
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: thought it was kind of funny to use too for
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: the near death experiences because cats have like nine lives and.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: You know, it's perfect. Yeah. I don't know if Christina
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: Ricci has ever had an indeed, maybe we should ask her.
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, so the next time I call her, I
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: will just all all ask.
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: I did Tiger in the story that I just made,
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: So maybe she'll see it and want to become besties.
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: That'd be great. We're using her tarot deck, yeah, because
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: we love her. Girl. Okay, So what I did earlier
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: is I haven't used this deck, so I kind of
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: like spread it.
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: You can see I like, oh yeah, I did the
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: all the spread. I just spread it all out and
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: you know, put it back together. So the cards are
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: real mixed up. They're all wonky donkey, they're like up
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: and down in sideways.
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: Yeah. I love that for us. I'm gonna I'm gonna
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: make them all go into a normal deck state and
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: then shuffle them. Alrighty, and they've been sitting on selenite. Nice.
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: Did I tell you that I put my laboo boo
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: on my selenite lamp in our bedroom? That's so cute. Yeah,
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: I hung my labooboo. Do we say I got a
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: la booo yet?
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: Spoiler? Because we did it. We did a Patreon bonus.
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: And I don't remember if we mentioned it in this
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: episode because it was like two days ago and that
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: was a long time ago.
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: But it was months ago. My labooo on my lamp,
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: not my Selenite lamp, but just my normal lamp. Like
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: where the the string as you pull it, there's a cord,
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: and so I hung it there and he just looks
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: so cute. I love it. Oh, it's a real stiff deck.
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: It's a real stiff yet. That's how we like it.
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: So we're picking a card for near death experiences cassies
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: or anybody else. Yeah, you didn't actually have one. She
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: just thought she did.
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: Hey, if it's real to you in the moment, I
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: think like that's all that matters.
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: Yeah, it's my party I'll die if I want to.
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: Oh love that for you. Do you have any feelings?
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: I feel I as usual, feel like it's going to
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: be somewhere kind of maybe just to the left of center.
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: Ish. This feeling was like popping out.
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like kind of center e. But it was like,
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: it feels like it wants to come out.
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: So let's see what it is. Ooh okay, we got christmasy,
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: we got a ton of pentacles and it was in reverse.
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: Oh okay, interesting this card that's kind of funny. And
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: we have a little interpretation book. I don't know what's
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: in it yet, so we're gonna find out together. I
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: don't know if it's just basic or if.
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: It's special things, if it has any info on Christina
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: Ricci and the card and the scene.
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: I don't know. I love that. I'm going to read
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: it upright and in reverse because they do look like
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: they have interesting little interpretations here. Okay, so upright says
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: happy as a kid on Christmas. You're feeling not preposterous prosperous? Yes,
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: thank you.
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: I was just guessing it's prosperous. Yeah, my brain was
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: like preposterous prosperous is preposterous. It's because the idea of
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: prosperity in the current era is just.
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: So preposterous Forredian slips. Is that what you call that? Yes,
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: that is one thousand percent what you call that. Okay,
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: so you're happy as a kid on Christmas. You're feeling
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: prosperous and grateful. You've been good all year and are
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: being rewarded for your efforts. Share your abundance with those
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: who helped you get where you are today. A thankful
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: heart attracts good fortune.
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: Oh and so the reverse says, outwardly, life seems perfect,
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: but it really isn't. Oh but is it really a
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: question mark? That was a question, not a statement. Yeah,
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: but it really isn't. You know, but it like really isn't?
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: Or wait?
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: Is it is discontent creeping in through the corners of
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: your life, like worrying factions spilling into the artificial utopic
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: town of Valley Port. That must be a very specific
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: reference to a movie or something that I don't understand.
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: It doesn't bring a bell for me either. Apologies, let
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: us know if you know what it is. We'd love
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: free to comment and tell us. Yeah, like, how dumb
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: we are for not knowing, Hey, no, I'm a smurty pants.
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: You're feeling unfulfilled by your cookie cutter life and are
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: afraid to speak up out of fear of disappointing others. Uh,
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: give yourself permission to break the status quo and find
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: what truly makes you happy. I think this totally fits
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: in with the episode. It totally does, yeah, because it's
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: kind of like what I was feeling. You know, I've
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: been yeah, I mean we've talked, we kind of talked
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: about it in the past. I've not always wanted to
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: particularly live on this planet. Yeah, I'm in therapy and
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: I'm fine now, but like you know, you always have
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: that thought in the back of your mind, like man,
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: it would be just like so much easier, yeah yeah,
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: or like, well things are getting boring here, like oh
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: yeah yeah.
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: And then you know, every time you think you feel
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: a little bit better, I find personally recently that the
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: planet is like, oh, you're you're thinking about sticking around.
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: Oh cool, hold my beer because I've got something else
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: for you.
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: Literally, So I feel like that's kind of like, you know,
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: how I was feeling. And then I was sort of
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: faced with this first stage of death basically and realized,
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: you know, I'm good here kind of like the upright
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: version of the card like happy as a kid on Christmas,
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: feeling grateful, so ton of pentacles.
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: Our keywords are abundance, fulfillment, inheritance that's interesting, good fortune, property,
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: and family resources. The card has connections with family, especially
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: family money and property, but also the legacy of inherited
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: resources such as good health, intelligence, cultural benefits, etc.
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: Which like just kind of I don't know. To me,
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: I'm like maybe I'm reaching.
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: But when you think about having a near death experience
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: or someone passing, it's like the next thing that comes
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: up is like, okay, everybody, we got to read the will.
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah that's true.
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: You have plenty and can now share your riches with others.
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: Oh that could be. That does remind me though of
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: like you have plenty, you can share your riches with others,
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: Like you can share your gratefulness. You can share your
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: story of your near death experience and maybe you know
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: someone else will also be more grateful for their life
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: or yeah something like that.
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: Yeah, people's stories can be really transformative, like even just
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: for people that are kind of hearing about them. In hindsight,
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: you know reflecting on that, I mean personally for the individual,
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: I think it obviously can be really transformative for them,
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: but even for as a third party, I guess is
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: what I'm saying. But okay, so a reverse interpretation, you
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: may be so established at this point that you're stagnating.
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: Maybe you've retired comfortably and now just sit around watching TV.
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: The reverse ten of pentacles can indicate problems with family members,
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: perhaps frustration, disagreements or responsibilities regarding a family business, property,
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: or inheritance.
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: Well, because if it's a near death experience, you're like, oh,
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: this person almost died. I'm not going to get their
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: inheritance because it came back.
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: I mean you still will eventually, right, eventually, Yeah, everybody dies,
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: just not today. Get over yourself. It's not your money yet.
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: In a reading about money, the reverse ten can represent
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: losses or debt, which may be related to family troubles
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: or obligations. The debt is funny because the first thing
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: I thought when I woke up was a little like, dang.
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: I got him a bills. That's so true.
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: I remember you saying that, and I was like, yes,
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: but also you're alive.
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: That's my biggest worry, I'm okay, oh my god.
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: Or it can mean you don't inherit as much as
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: you'd expect it. Well, that's pretty much part for the course.
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: I feel like covered that it's lining up with real
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: life family feuds over money slash property are possible, which
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: is definitely Again, it just goes to like the reading
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: of the will, like that's the vibe I feel like,
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: or you know, you were saying like you like be
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: prepared for a death, or maybe this will if you
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: have a near death experience, then after you'll be like, Okay, I.
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: Gotta get like my shit and order. I gotta get
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: my affairs in order. That's what exactly, Yes, get my
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: affairs an order. I love it.
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: This card can also point to fluctuations in the marketplace
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: or real estate values that threaten your security.
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: Joke's on you. I don't got none of that that
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: it's not applicable in this situation. Yeah yeah, yeah, I
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: mean I'm sure it applies to other people. That's fine, whatever.
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: What what's it like to own property? If the reading
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: is about your job, you may not be using your
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: resources and abilities fully, or you may not receive the
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: compensation and success you feel you deserve a business, perhaps
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: a family operation may hit hard times. Sometimes this card
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: shows you rejecting the material world for the spiritual one.
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that seems like a huge thing. People kind
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: of go through go through this, Yeah, I think so.
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: In a reading about love of financial and or family
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: problems may cause friction and unhappiness in a relationship. Responsibilities
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: for children or elderly parents might place strain on you.
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: Emotional baggage and old hurts may interfere with your happiness.
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: Let that shit go, man, doesn't matter. Do what makes
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: you happy. That's what I'm doing, not paying my bills
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: and just doing what makes me happy. That's what I've
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: learned from this experience.
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I love that that was your number one worry
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: when you came to and now you're like, ah.
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: Fuck it. I did think it was interesting because she's
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: like reaching for the star at the top of the tree,
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: and like the star is usually lit up, you know,
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: she's reaching for the light. Oh that could be a stretch.
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: Oh you know they kind of did, Okay, this is
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: this is interesting because they did kind of you know,
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: like the tunnel, the darkness, the void. No, I think
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: the imagery is there, like You're so right, And they
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: kind of described it as a funnel sometimes, like a
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: funnel going into the light.
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: That's kind of what I'm saying, dude.
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: I there, Well, wow, this has me really reflecting on
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: the holiday season in a different way.
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: Christmas equals death. That that is true, though, don't people
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: more people die by suicide like during the holidays. I
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: think people.
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: Like in general around a lot of major holidays, but
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: Christmas is a like that time of year because you know,
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: people are impacted by like seasonal depression when you have
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: like extended periods of time, like you know kind of
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: the depending on where you're at, like regionally and sort
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: of your socioeconomic like background and everything, like, you might
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: have not even just your immediate family, but you might
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: even have like extended family. That's like you guys are
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: kind of gathered for you know, a period in like
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: the window from like basically Thanksgiving to like New Year's
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: and so like it it exacerbates like any sort of
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: tension that's there, and that's part of intention like can
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: mean a lot of things. But during COVID, there was
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: such a spike in domestic violence and like really like
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: the worstening of those you know, family and home situations
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: because people had no escape from each other.
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: Ah, you need a break, and yeah, yeah, exactly, take
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: vacations from your vacations.
- 1:13:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm ready for my next vacation from a vacation.
- 1:14:00Speaker 4: Too.
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: I'm ready to take a real vacation, I know. Okay,
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: we'll get there.
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: You got to work first. We got to work first. Okay,
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: we can't do the fun things first this time.
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: I guess, have we not been working? I felt like
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: that's what we were doing more more, Yeah, I've done yet. Okay, well,
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: we are kind of done with this episode, I think,
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: unless there was any like extra exerpts or anything.
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: You know, it's funny you say that, because so this
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: is the uh ten of Pentacles, right, and then the
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: next page is chapter nine, and that begins the Suit
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: of Swords. There is an extra excerpt at like the
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: top of this page as it introduces the swords that
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: I was like, kind of just as I glanced down
- 1:14:51Speaker 2: at sort of like caught my eye. It says life
- 1:14:56Speaker 2: is pain. An old Chinese proverb says life is pain.
- 1:15:02Speaker 2: Pain makes you think, thinking makes you wise, and wisdom
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: makes life endurable. The swords represent this perspective, dude.
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I know.
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: I was like, I just glanced at it, and I
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: was like, oh, that's really interesting.
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: And I was like, what are the odds that we drew?
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: So here's the thing. What is it? Oh eyebroke. Okay,
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: so this is at the bottom that it caught my
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: eye too, oh swords, Yeah, because you know it's in
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: a cemetery. So I was like, oh, I really like
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: that card.
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: So the thing is is that, like the Ten of Pentacles,
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: it starts on page one twenty seven in this book,
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: but the reverse like very neatly, evenly perfectly falls onto
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: page like one twenty eight, and then at the very
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: bottom of the following pages where it has like the
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: intro to Swords, and that little extra excerpt is there
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: as part of the intro to Swords. And I was like,
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: that's so weird because if we had drawn, if we
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: had drawn this card in the upright position, I never
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: probably would have looked at that excerpt, because I wouldn't
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: have turned over the page and like been settled on
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: that and just kind of like scanning.
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: Yeah. I like that.
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: I like when stuff like that happens because it just
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: adds like a little extra thing you weren't expecting, or yeah,
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: and it totally fits, like what exactly what we're talking about?
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: Yeah, it did, was meant to be, twas meant to be.
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: Oh, I didn't even realize I put there's a spider
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: on on my headstone here? Oh yeah, the deck I
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: used this cap full of spiders.
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: Oh would you look at the app?
- 1:16:47Speaker 4: You're like, yeah, spider is Oh have a creepy day
- 1:16:53Speaker 4: seam next Tuesday, you better not die on this come that?
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: Yeah, if you die, come back please either way you're
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: coming back.
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: You've no choice.
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: Anyway. Why did it so well? Anyone else feel like?
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: It's hot and panickyan here
