- 0:20Speaker 1: There we go there. I don't touch anything.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Okay, I've done nothing.
- 0:29Speaker 1: All right, what's going on? Everybody? I am the one,
- 0:31Speaker 1: the only, the w oh okay. I e joined here
- 0:34Speaker 1: by a new cast of misfits. I kicked the old
- 0:36Speaker 1: ones out. They just uh, they weren't here.
- 0:41Speaker 3: Yeah, they weren't committed. They were not committed, no commitment.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Or they might have gotten to pack SeAsTe one or
- 0:49Speaker 1: the other. I'm not sure. We'll find out next week.
- 0:52Speaker 1: But we do have our good friends. From a Heroes
- 0:55Speaker 1: Guide to as Gartha, we got a loco Nico. That's
- 0:59Speaker 1: me and Cruise. What's going on, guys?
- 1:02Speaker 3: That's right, they're not bad. I go by Chili. Trews
- 1:04Speaker 3: is just the name on the discord, but Chili's what
- 1:06Speaker 3: I usually go by.
- 1:08Speaker 1: I don't like. I like Cruise, batter. Can I convince
- 1:12Speaker 1: you to switch? You know what?
- 1:14Speaker 3: You can call me both. I really don't mind that
- 1:17Speaker 3: Cruise is my last name. Chili is actually where I
- 1:20Speaker 3: was born. That's where when I used to play it bugby,
- 1:23Speaker 3: that was my nickname. So most people in Australia are
- 1:27Speaker 3: at least in my community that where I lived, don't
- 1:29Speaker 3: even know my name. It's David, but they go by
- 1:31Speaker 3: it's always Chili Chile, This Chili Chilly.
- 1:33Speaker 1: So you're born in Chili but grew up in Australia.
- 1:36Speaker 3: Yeah, we left, not because of the military coup, but
- 1:41Speaker 3: my dad had some opportunities come to Australia to come
- 1:44Speaker 3: to Australia and it made our life so much easier.
- 1:48Speaker 3: He did not have any of the political issues that
- 1:50Speaker 3: some people in Chili had. I don't want to talk
- 1:53Speaker 3: political in that sense, but I mean I was very
- 1:56Speaker 3: grateful for what we got in Australia and then moved
- 1:59Speaker 3: to the States because I traveled here to see the
- 2:02Speaker 3: Utah Jazz and I met my wife on one of
- 2:05Speaker 3: these trips and I asked my company to transfer Meova
- 2:07Speaker 3: and the rest is history.
- 2:10Speaker 1: You know.
- 2:11Speaker 2: I didn't even know that. And I've been recording with
- 2:13Speaker 2: this guy for three months now.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm from all over the world.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Do better, as they say, do better. But we do
- 2:24Speaker 1: have a little bit of altered news to go over.
- 2:26Speaker 1: There's a few things that hit Yeah, we're gonna kind
- 2:30Speaker 1: of run this a little bit different, right, I kind
- 2:33Speaker 1: of thought. So I had listened. I don't podcasted. Listening
- 2:38Speaker 1: is tough for a person who is as busy as
- 2:40Speaker 1: I am. However, when Cole told me he was on
- 2:43Speaker 1: your Guys' podcast, I was like, well, I gotta see
- 2:47Speaker 1: what kind of shit talk and he did about me?
- 2:49Speaker 1: So I guess how knows he not over turns out
- 2:53Speaker 1: not so bad. I don't even did he even. I
- 2:56Speaker 1: don't even think he mentioned me, which was the crazy part. No,
- 2:59Speaker 1: he didn't mention any of you, and I know you
- 3:01Speaker 1: know he doesn't.
- 3:02Speaker 3: He doesn't mention not on the recording. Yeah, not on
- 3:04Speaker 3: the recording, but theforehand before we click the button to
- 3:07Speaker 3: record a ton in terms of how you guys got together,
- 3:11Speaker 3: how this started, and it was, it wasn't meant to
- 3:14Speaker 3: be as big as it was, but it has become big.
- 3:16Speaker 3: And they basically you created the platform by which everything
- 3:21Speaker 3: kind of jives now in Texas related to Altered, I'm
- 3:25Speaker 3: probably the states.
- 3:26Speaker 1: I think. Okay, So when it comes to how Altered jives,
- 3:31Speaker 1: that's all call, right, I'll give him. I'll give him
- 3:36Speaker 1: all the credit. So and for those of you who
- 3:39Speaker 1: don't know, I don't know if I've ever told this story,
- 3:41Speaker 1: but we might as I might as well, now right,
- 3:45Speaker 1: I shouldn't say used to I still do ar CON's
- 3:48Speaker 1: Corner right, which is what you're listening on right now.
- 3:52Speaker 1: I still do that. I still very much enjoy the
- 3:55Speaker 1: game key Forage. We I play it tons and tons
- 3:58Speaker 1: and tons, and I started a podcast for it because
- 4:06Speaker 1: one of my good friends JR, who is now on
- 4:09Speaker 1: the podcast, sucked at it and he just like couldn't
- 4:13Speaker 1: wrap his head around the game because it's not it's
- 4:17Speaker 1: again like like Altered. It's a racing game. It's not
- 4:20Speaker 1: a game designed like, well, you have less creatures, so
- 4:23Speaker 1: I win, right, So it the first one to eighteen
- 4:26Speaker 1: member wins, and that's how it goes, right. So it
- 4:30Speaker 1: was a struggle for a lot of people because that's
- 4:32Speaker 1: not the typical style right of game. So I created
- 4:39Speaker 1: that and I wanted to have him, but he wouldn't.
- 4:41Speaker 1: He couldn't come on, he said, he just he didn't.
- 4:43Speaker 1: He had so much And you're talking about another very
- 4:45Speaker 1: busy individual. So I was doing the show solo for like,
- 4:50Speaker 1: I don't know, four or five months, and then I
- 4:54Speaker 1: got introduced to Z, which I don't know. You guys
- 4:57Speaker 1: know Big Z at all? Do you guys play with
- 4:58Speaker 1: him on a I don't think so.
- 5:01Speaker 3: No, I've not heard of big Z. This is good.
- 5:03Speaker 3: This is a great story I'm looking for. I need
- 5:06Speaker 3: by pop Colin.
- 5:07Speaker 1: So Z did Archimes corner with me for a long time? Right,
- 5:12Speaker 1: it's Jesus. That was twenty eighteen when we I started
- 5:16Speaker 1: in twenty eighteen. I think he came on, yeah, about
- 5:19Speaker 1: midway through twenty eighteen. But he had left, right, he
- 5:25Speaker 1: had had enough. There's there's a long story about why
- 5:27Speaker 1: he left key Forge and he actually ended up and Altered.
- 5:33Speaker 1: So I get a message one day, you know, I
- 5:35Speaker 1: hadn't talked to him in a in a little while,
- 5:38Speaker 1: and he's like, look like, I want to do enough.
- 5:41Speaker 1: I want to do a podcast for Altered. Right, I'm
- 5:44Speaker 1: liking this game. I'm digging it. You're the only one
- 5:48Speaker 1: I know that knows how to do the things like
- 5:51Speaker 1: I could talk, but I don't know how to do
- 5:52Speaker 1: all the background stuff. Yeah, And we had talked back
- 5:56Speaker 1: and forth about it for a couple of weeks, and
- 5:58Speaker 1: I was like, man, you know, I'm all already kind
- 6:00Speaker 1: of busy as it is, right, I don't know if
- 6:05Speaker 1: I could take on another show. And along the way,
- 6:08Speaker 1: because him and I have you know, again, we've been
- 6:10Speaker 1: together for five years. Friends, I was like, all right, man,
- 6:14Speaker 1: for you, I'll do it. You know, if this is
- 6:16Speaker 1: anybody else, I'd like kick rocks bro I don't really
- 6:19Speaker 1: you know. And he he had come on and we
- 6:26Speaker 1: had the noble one Zach, which is his friend. We
- 6:31Speaker 1: had Coal, Ogre and Dexter, and as we went through,
- 6:39Speaker 1: Ogre eventually decided that it just wasn't something he could maintain.
- 6:42Speaker 1: He couldn't maintain that kind of schedule. Which is fine.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Podcasting is it for everyone. You know, life gets in
- 6:48Speaker 1: the way and you really have to make and dedicate
- 6:50Speaker 1: time to doing this, and you have to be okay
- 6:53Speaker 1: with like making zero dollars on it, right, it has
- 6:57Speaker 1: to be something you enjoy and if and if you
- 7:02Speaker 1: don't enjoy it, it's just not for you know, it's
- 7:06Speaker 1: not for you, right, like move on because I still
- 7:10Speaker 1: I still don't think we've made a dollar off of
- 7:12Speaker 1: Arcon's Corner and we're still going five years later.
- 7:14Speaker 3: So yeah, well I'm now subscribed to you, So I'm
- 7:18Speaker 3: giving you the three dollars you ask for every month.
- 7:20Speaker 3: There you go, It's not much, but you know, I
- 7:23Speaker 3: watually look at it that I'm like, I don't. You
- 7:25Speaker 3: must need to get a lot of subscribers to make
- 7:28Speaker 3: it worth it. I always said, a credible passion project.
- 7:33Speaker 1: I always said number one, I do really like Altered,
- 7:38Speaker 1: And it was Ze who really was like, man, I
- 7:40Speaker 1: want to do this, and I was like, all right, man,
- 7:43Speaker 1: you know, for you, for you and Zach. Sure. So
- 7:47Speaker 1: Oger eventually dropped. And then about that same time, Zee
- 7:51Speaker 1: and Zach were moving. So they're they're they live in Texas, right,
- 7:56Speaker 1: and Texas is a big place. Tech is the size
- 8:01Speaker 1: of multiple European countries.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Yes, so huge.
- 8:06Speaker 1: So I was like, oh, okay, well once they're done moving.
- 8:09Speaker 1: They're like, yeah, once we're done moving, we'll come back. Okay,
- 8:12Speaker 1: sounds good. So it ended up being me, myself, Cole,
- 8:16Speaker 1: and Dexter. That was three months ago. I don't know
- 8:21Speaker 1: where I don't know where z is, so it's just
- 8:24Speaker 1: been yeah, I was just would be calling Dexter ever since.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Yeah alive. I have to assume that I have assume
- 8:37Speaker 2: that they're alive.
- 8:38Speaker 1: My assumption. You know, every now and again they pop
- 8:40Speaker 1: in on Discord and kind of say a thing, But
- 8:44Speaker 1: when it really comes to planning the shows, you know,
- 8:47Speaker 1: Cole really plans the shows. He does a great job
- 8:51Speaker 1: because you know, I I plan ac archives corner at least,
- 8:56Speaker 1: you know it. Just I don't have the time to
- 8:58Speaker 1: really write out an another you know another like uh,
- 9:05Speaker 1: I don't want to say script because it's not a
- 9:07Speaker 1: script but another like outline. So because Cole does that,
- 9:11Speaker 1: I'm just the magical voice in the box you're listening
- 9:14Speaker 1: to that reads stuff. Yeah, I just read stuff, and uh,
- 9:21Speaker 1: I don't I don't know what Dexter is. I don't
- 9:23Speaker 1: even know why he's still he's like he chimes in
- 9:25Speaker 1: from time to time.
- 9:27Speaker 3: Yeah, well he's also studying, right, he's he's getting his degree.
- 9:30Speaker 1: You know what's funny is I threatened to kick him
- 9:33Speaker 1: off the show if he didn't get his chemistry. Great.
- 9:35Speaker 1: If he got his chemistry great, So good on him,
- 9:37Speaker 1: Good on him.
- 9:39Speaker 2: So I mean, would you say that he's a mascot then.
- 9:43Speaker 1: I call him the red shirt of our our.
- 9:48Speaker 3: I would say he's probably the one that is the
- 9:51Speaker 3: most competitive when he comes to playing though. Yeah, you
- 9:54Speaker 3: want to get that element of understanding what cords the
- 9:59Speaker 3: best for a to do dick, not just a fun dick.
- 10:01Speaker 3: I would think it would be here.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely, he is super competitive. He Dexter also plays
- 10:08Speaker 1: key forde with us. Him and I will be up
- 10:10Speaker 1: in uh Minnesota next weekend playing in the Vault Tour,
- 10:16Speaker 1: so I'll see him there. He's bringing me a whole
- 10:19Speaker 1: bunch of stuff from because I weird story don't have
- 10:23Speaker 1: a local to play in, so it's not like I
- 10:25Speaker 1: can go to my local event and like play Altered. Normally,
- 10:30Speaker 1: when I play Altered, I do get I do get
- 10:33Speaker 1: on board game arena. I hate playing online anything. It's
- 10:39Speaker 1: not for me. Why is that? Why is that wikie?
- 10:42Speaker 1: I don't gibe with it.
- 10:44Speaker 3: I am okay.
- 10:45Speaker 1: I'm a people person, right, I'm I'm exploding with personality.
- 10:51Speaker 1: And what's what's funny is I'll tell you guys a
- 10:56Speaker 1: story again. It's a key Ford story. I got a
- 10:57Speaker 1: lot of key Forard stories. We were doing our Scrubs
- 11:01Speaker 1: revenge party. Oh, I told you guys off air, and
- 11:06Speaker 1: I'm very vocal and opinionated, right, and you never I'm
- 11:13Speaker 1: okay with that, right, And I've never said like you
- 11:16Speaker 1: have to subscribe to my opinions. It's okay to be wrong, right,
- 11:23Speaker 1: Like that's fine.
- 11:25Speaker 3: It's okay for others to be yeah, yeah, no, no.
- 11:27Speaker 1: It's okay for them to be right.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Yeah, no, everybody else is wrong. Yeah.
- 11:33Speaker 1: So you know, well people do you know, it's fine.
- 11:37Speaker 1: I really don't care if people disagree with me, right like,
- 11:39Speaker 1: it's it's fine. We all have different views that what
- 11:42Speaker 1: we think is best for you know, X y Z.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Move forward with your life, you know my opinion. My
- 11:50Speaker 1: my grandmother once told me many moons ago when I started,
- 11:53Speaker 1: I actually cut my teeth in like this whole social
- 11:56Speaker 1: media podcasting thing doing wrestling, and I had a real rough,
- 12:01Speaker 1: rough go of it. My grandma once said, you know,
- 12:03Speaker 1: lions don't lose sleep over the thoughts of sheep, and
- 12:07Speaker 1: that's something that's stuck with me since.
- 12:10Speaker 2: Right wisdom, Grandma's got bars man, yep.
- 12:15Speaker 3: So someone I asked, what was the what was the
- 12:17Speaker 3: podcast called or your social media on wrestling and which
- 12:22Speaker 3: of the wrestling companies?
- 12:23Speaker 1: So it was just the Wookie right at that point
- 12:27Speaker 1: in time, Uh, you really only had w w E.
- 12:31Speaker 1: That was it.
- 12:33Speaker 3: They had swallowed up w c W at the time.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Then oh yeah, this is this is past w c W.
- 12:39Speaker 1: This is you know, it's really WWE. Like TNA is
- 12:43Speaker 1: kind of a thing AW doesn't quite exist yet. We're
- 12:47Speaker 1: getting into the point where AW exists. And there was
- 12:50Speaker 1: a whole big thing on that. I did some Luca
- 12:53Speaker 1: Underground stuff for other If you're a big if you're
- 12:57Speaker 1: big into wrestling, you probably remember Luca Underground.
- 13:02Speaker 3: For me, you know, that was the thing in my dad.
- 13:05Speaker 3: My dad and I used to get the videos out.
- 13:06Speaker 3: Remember in Australia, we would not get any of the
- 13:08Speaker 3: live shows right but we'd get WrestleMania, we'd get Summer Slam,
- 13:12Speaker 3: we'd get the videos and it was a once a
- 13:14Speaker 3: month or once a quarter whenever the video would come
- 13:17Speaker 3: to the to the Blockbuster in Australia rented out.
- 13:23Speaker 1: I am, I am, I am a Blockbuster. There's there's
- 13:27Speaker 1: squats of people that are listening to this right now,
- 13:30Speaker 1: going what's that and like googling it.
- 13:34Speaker 2: If I'm going to be honest, I missed Blockbusters so much.
- 13:37Speaker 3: But for us it was it was my experience as
- 13:40Speaker 3: me and dad just doing something together. So so I
- 13:44Speaker 3: still like, even though I don't watch wrestling as the
- 13:48Speaker 3: good thing is the shorts available, Like you can watch
- 13:50Speaker 3: things on the short media platforms. And I read up
- 13:53Speaker 3: the articles and ae W is so interesting to me
- 13:57Speaker 3: because I hate monopolies. I cannot stand the monopoly market
- 14:02Speaker 3: of anything. So to have a new company come in
- 14:06Speaker 3: that brought back some of that passion that I remember
- 14:08Speaker 3: when I was a kid. So I thought WWE became
- 14:11Speaker 3: much more WWF slash WWE became more a gimmick as
- 14:17Speaker 3: opposed to what I grew up with as a fun
- 14:19Speaker 3: wrestling environment. Yeah, I would agree with you, but the
- 14:25Speaker 3: product is way better in WWE, Like in terms of
- 14:27Speaker 3: as a spectacle, it's fantastic.
- 14:29Speaker 1: AW not doing so hot, but you know.
- 14:32Speaker 3: No, they got good wrestlers. Anyway, we are not here
- 14:36Speaker 3: to talk about wrestling.
- 14:39Speaker 2: I want to. I want to bring this up though.
- 14:40Speaker 2: You were the second person that I know that started
- 14:42Speaker 2: out as a wrestling podcaster.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Well, who's the first.
- 14:47Speaker 2: His name is Jason Macy. Jason, I promise if you're
- 14:52Speaker 2: listening to this, I apologies sincerely. Really cool guy. He's
- 14:56Speaker 2: a dungeon master for a D and D podcast.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, that's kind of funny. I have a buddy,
- 15:06Speaker 1: there was this whole thing we were gonna do. He knows,
- 15:09Speaker 1: I don't know if that was the name he pushed out.
- 15:13Speaker 1: I have a friend he does. He does a wrestling podcast.
- 15:18Speaker 1: His name while he goes by Anthony Missionary Thomas right
- 15:23Speaker 1: otherwise aka Mish. He's done wrestling soup for fifteen years now.
- 15:29Speaker 1: Probably he was trying to get me involved with something
- 15:35Speaker 1: like that, like where somebody would be like, oh, they
- 15:39Speaker 1: did a whole like a podcast right of D and D,
- 15:43Speaker 1: And I was like, oh, that's kind of a cool idea.
- 15:46Speaker 1: I mean, now they're everywhere, but this is ten years ago. Now,
- 15:51Speaker 1: I want to say, so are they everywhere now? Purely
- 15:55Speaker 1: because of stranger things? Probably would say it was D.
- 16:00Speaker 3: And D was dying. I never played it. I never
- 16:03Speaker 3: I've never played it. That wasn't my thing. When I
- 16:05Speaker 3: was growing up, you played sport, and if you played sport,
- 16:08Speaker 3: you did not do dungeons and dragons or things associated
- 16:13Speaker 3: to the fantasy.
- 16:14Speaker 1: So weird, because that was that was life I am.
- 16:17Speaker 1: I was the exact opposite. I played. I was a
- 16:23Speaker 1: three sport athlete, right varsity and many of them, well
- 16:28Speaker 1: varsity and all of them eventually, And yeah, I totally did.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Like while literally while I'm you know, football after football practice, right,
- 16:39Speaker 1: I'm slamming my bag on and literally across the street
- 16:42Speaker 1: from my high school. It was a game store. It's
- 16:46Speaker 1: called Fortress.
- 16:48Speaker 3: I literally grew up in that environment.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Yeah. Literally, I'd slam my backpack at that time. Man,
- 16:53Speaker 1: I'd go over there. I was at that time. I
- 16:55Speaker 1: was playing and we kind of moved around. But like,
- 16:59Speaker 1: does it do you guys? Remember the war and now
- 17:01Speaker 1: it's coming back the Warlord TCG.
- 17:06Speaker 2: I know, I've never heard of that. Finally, a TCG
- 17:11Speaker 2: I've never heard of.
- 17:12Speaker 1: So well I probably got a million of them for you,
- 17:15Speaker 1: so buckle up.
- 17:16Speaker 3: People buy at least a pack for everything.
- 17:19Speaker 2: That's true.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Yeah, So Warlord was a TCG. It was like you
- 17:24Speaker 1: basically like it was almost like a miniature games in
- 17:28Speaker 1: a CCG form. You had your like your lineup was
- 17:32Speaker 1: like this this line of people right. It was built
- 17:35Speaker 1: on a pyramid and the whole goal was to kill
- 17:37Speaker 1: your opponent's leader and literally to like attack and all
- 17:42Speaker 1: this stuff. You you you rolled the D twenty and
- 17:44Speaker 1: then added their modifier to see if you hit against
- 17:47Speaker 1: their against their armor. So a little luck based. Yeah,
- 17:54Speaker 1: it's it's back now. Somebody re released Warlord.
- 17:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I saw something a kickstarter for twenty twenty four.
- 18:03Speaker 1: Yep, yep, that game died Oh geez back in twenty oh,
- 18:08Speaker 1: not even twenty two thousand and seven, two thousand and eight.
- 18:12Speaker 1: I want to say, yeah, somebody came wild a lot
- 18:16Speaker 1: of the games I played as a kid, Like, did
- 18:18Speaker 1: either you play Magi Nation?
- 18:21Speaker 2: No? No, never heard of that one either.
- 18:24Speaker 1: So Imagine Nation super cool cards too. You ever feel
- 18:28Speaker 1: the texture on like a playing card, like just like
- 18:31Speaker 1: just like a you know, normal playing cards. That was
- 18:33Speaker 1: the texture of these cards.
- 18:34Speaker 3: Oh nice, you're talking like Vegas gambling. Yeah, you know
- 18:38Speaker 3: it's those really good yeah, beautiful texture on him.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, that was the texture of those cards. So
- 18:44Speaker 1: I don't know if that's what drove him out of
- 18:45Speaker 1: business or like. It was super cartoony, right, and it
- 18:49Speaker 1: ended up having like a a cart an actual cartoon
- 18:54Speaker 1: that like went alongside it. It was. It was super cool.
- 18:57Speaker 1: I liked that game too, but that that one died
- 18:59Speaker 1: in like oh oh man, I.
- 19:02Speaker 2: Found the wrestling podcast by the way, just as an
- 19:05Speaker 2: anecdote as after we finished this. Was it called Magi
- 19:09Speaker 2: Nation Duel?
- 19:10Speaker 1: Yeah, yep, huh oh super mediam I I did collect
- 19:18Speaker 1: Star Wars CCG and you and I've connected a little bit.
- 19:20Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, I never got into Decipher's other games
- 19:26Speaker 3: except for Lord of the Rings. But my draw was
- 19:29Speaker 3: more like, I like the movie, I want to get this.
- 19:31Speaker 3: And once again my connection with my dad, Star Wars
- 19:35Speaker 3: was the other thing he introduced me to, so there
- 19:37Speaker 3: were things we would do together.
- 19:39Speaker 1: Yeah, that was I mean, Star Wars was absolutely for
- 19:42Speaker 1: me something I did with my old man. Yeah, I remember.
- 19:46Speaker 3: Like that would have started before your time, I would
- 19:48Speaker 3: assume as well. Like in terms of when it started,
- 19:52Speaker 3: late nineties, early two thousand, I.
- 19:54Speaker 1: Want to say it was ninety five. Yeah, Star Wars
- 19:57Speaker 1: CCG came out. It's like ninety four ninety five. Magic
- 20:00Speaker 1: was just coming out too, pretty new. But I remember
- 20:04Speaker 1: we went to boy again, I'm dating myself. We went
- 20:11Speaker 1: to I can't remember what it was, d c I something.
- 20:17Speaker 1: It was in the mall they sold. They sold cassettes
- 20:21Speaker 1: and CDs. That was all they did. And then they'd
- 20:23Speaker 1: have like weird stuff kind of on the side, right,
- 20:26Speaker 1: like you just kind of find like weird collectibles and
- 20:29Speaker 1: knickknacks and stuff like that, and all of a sudden
- 20:31Speaker 1: we're I don't know what we're buying there. I don't
- 20:34Speaker 1: even remember that. I mean you're talking ye or something. No,
- 20:40Speaker 1: literally all they sold was again cassette tapes and CDs
- 20:44Speaker 1: was the new big thing. So now they were like
- 20:46Speaker 1: moving over to CDs. But like if you go into
- 20:49Speaker 1: the mall now, like they're just like some of these
- 20:50Speaker 1: stores just it's just like little knickknacks, right. It was
- 20:53Speaker 1: not uncommon for stores to have like, yeah, a box
- 20:56Speaker 1: of this or a box of that. Like I remember
- 20:59Speaker 1: some of the old bookstores would have they'd have magic
- 21:02Speaker 1: on the counter and stuff like that. Yeah, just a
- 21:05Speaker 1: little you know, buy one, you know, kind of what
- 21:09Speaker 1: those impulse buy stuffs. Yeah, So, like he bought a
- 21:14Speaker 1: starter and like a couple of packs and we went
- 21:16Speaker 1: home and cracked them open, and I forget what he pulled.
- 21:21Speaker 1: And then all of a sudden, it's like, yeah, we're
- 21:22Speaker 1: playing this game. And I remember, yeah, Star Wars. So
- 21:27Speaker 1: I was seven or eight, and I remember I was
- 21:32Speaker 1: seven or eight. I was going to gen Con and
- 21:34Speaker 1: playing in their gen CON's big event. That's when gen
- 21:37Speaker 1: Con was still in Milwaukee. Oh wow, playing playing Star Wars,
- 21:42Speaker 1: and man, I played that from literally from the day
- 21:45Speaker 1: it you know, I shouldn't say from the day was released,
- 21:48Speaker 1: because I actually don't know, but way all the way
- 21:52Speaker 1: till the end. What was the last second?
- 21:55Speaker 3: So if you kept any of those old cards, especially
- 21:58Speaker 3: the lost sets, you would make a fune because there
- 22:00Speaker 3: was such short supply.
- 22:02Speaker 1: I gave them to my old man. He lives in Tennessee.
- 22:05Speaker 1: He still has a ton of those. Oh, I don't
- 22:08Speaker 1: know what you know. I remember, man, I pulled my
- 22:10Speaker 1: first ever Luke Skywalker Jedi Knight at at the last
- 22:14Speaker 1: gen Con that was in Milwaukee, and I remembering some
- 22:18Speaker 1: dudes like, I'll give you two hundred dollars for that card,
- 22:20Speaker 1: and I turned it down. But you know it was.
- 22:26Speaker 3: COVID made of the price of cards and collectibles go
- 22:29Speaker 3: up ridiculous amounts. I'm like, what happened? These were not
- 22:34Speaker 3: worth this much? Just a few weeks ago.
- 22:37Speaker 1: Star Wars is even Lord of the Rings. I as
- 22:40Speaker 1: well played Lord of the Rings. I am, I am.
- 22:42Speaker 3: I loved the Lord of the Rings Like I was
- 22:44Speaker 3: never very good at playing it, but I like the
- 22:47Speaker 3: cards just remind me of the game, and they had
- 22:48Speaker 3: the text so you could read up extra stuff about
- 22:51Speaker 3: the the history of the law that that was created.
- 22:54Speaker 1: So it's pretty awesome.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I have a question for you guys. Then, do
- 22:59Speaker 2: you guys remember a Lord of the Rings kind of
- 23:02Speaker 2: style version of Munchkin. It wasn't like Munchkin labeled, but
- 23:07Speaker 2: it's basically you kick a you kick a door down
- 23:11Speaker 2: or whatever. You have a boss that you're fighting, but
- 23:13Speaker 2: it's kind of a deck builder game.
- 23:16Speaker 1: I remember, so I remember, like the Munchkin. Middle Earth? Yeah,
- 23:22Speaker 1: that was different. Yeah, that I don't remember, but it
- 23:25Speaker 1: was like it was.
- 23:25Speaker 2: Actually like Lord of the Rings had like actual artwork
- 23:30Speaker 2: from Lord of the Rings and stuff. For the life
- 23:33Speaker 2: of me, I cannot remember what.
- 23:34Speaker 1: It was Middle Earth, are you, Because before, before the
- 23:42Speaker 1: decipher got their hands on Lord of the Rings, there
- 23:45Speaker 1: was a card game called Middle Earth and it had
- 23:48Speaker 1: the Eye on Isosaur on like on the back.
- 23:52Speaker 3: I have no idea.
- 23:53Speaker 1: I want to say it was kind and I could
- 23:55Speaker 1: be totally wrong. I want to say, did either you
- 23:57Speaker 1: play Legend of the Five Rings, the Old Age version?
- 24:01Speaker 3: No, just the new one? Just the new one, well,
- 24:04Speaker 3: the LCG version of it. I think there was TCG
- 24:07Speaker 3: or an l C or whatever's there's so many names
- 24:09Speaker 3: from the Living is the one.
- 24:11Speaker 1: I played, the old TCG version that was made by
- 24:14Speaker 1: AG before Fantasy Flight picked it up where you had
- 24:18Speaker 1: like you know, you had two decks. You had your
- 24:20Speaker 1: like your your dudes and resources, your your resource deck
- 24:24Speaker 1: and your Fate deck. So literally like your the cards
- 24:28Speaker 1: in your hand came from your fate deck, which was
- 24:30Speaker 1: all like your actions and interrupts and stuff like that.
- 24:33Speaker 1: And then you would play stuff you had what your
- 24:37Speaker 1: resource row and you had like four and your your goal.
- 24:41Speaker 1: You had three ways to win. You could get all
- 24:44Speaker 1: the rings right and then you win the game like
- 24:46Speaker 1: assembling the pieces of Exodia. You could become enlightened, right
- 24:51Speaker 1: because that was one of the wing cash conditions, was
- 24:54Speaker 1: getting to twenty enlightenment. Or you could destroy your opponent's base,
- 24:59Speaker 1: and that's how you one. I played that one very
- 25:01Speaker 1: very heavily.
- 25:03Speaker 2: Oh I actually found it.
- 25:05Speaker 1: Is it called Metal Earth?
- 25:07Speaker 2: No, it's literally called the Lord of the Rings deck
- 25:09Speaker 2: building Game. Oh okay, that's literally what it's called. Apparently
- 25:14Speaker 2: one Google search and Amazon and that's all it took.
- 25:17Speaker 3: That's so funny.
- 25:19Speaker 2: Well, but they have different iterations to be fair. So
- 25:24Speaker 2: back back to Alted, we should probably talk about Altered
- 25:28Speaker 2: just a little bit.
- 25:28Speaker 3: Like your story is more like you decided to play
- 25:32Speaker 3: because friends asked you to play, you created a podcast.
- 25:34Speaker 1: So actually it's weird. I didn't play because friends asked
- 25:38Speaker 1: me to play. I am actually Walter was already on
- 25:41Speaker 1: my radar right like I knew it was yep from
- 25:46Speaker 1: the well actually from not even from the kickstarter. A
- 25:48Speaker 1: key Forge player Domino. It was like, hey, have you
- 25:53Speaker 1: heard of this game? And I'm like nope, like you know,
- 25:58Speaker 1: and we played they had remember this is probably this
- 26:03Speaker 1: is two years ago now, maybe they had like you
- 26:07Speaker 1: could put it on a tabletop simulator. And he's like oh,
- 26:12Speaker 1: And we started playing the decks and man, I think
- 26:15Speaker 1: we played like three four hours. I was just like
- 26:17Speaker 1: playing around with all the different decks and then he's like, yeah,
- 26:20Speaker 1: there's this kickstarter and all this, and I kind of
- 26:23Speaker 1: was like, yeah, eh, you know, like I'm a little
- 26:26Speaker 1: weary of kickstarters and crowdfunding and all that jazz. So
- 26:29Speaker 1: that wasn't my jam. But I was at gen Con
- 26:33Speaker 1: for key Forge Nationals and I saw when I'm scrolling
- 26:37Speaker 1: through the app, I was like, oh, Altered's here. I
- 26:42Speaker 1: should I should go do that? And I didn't and
- 26:47Speaker 1: I did me and Cole I'm I'm Cole is not
- 26:50Speaker 1: as sure. I'm pretty sure that him and I met
- 26:52Speaker 1: each other there, but like again, we didn't know, we
- 26:57Speaker 1: had no inkling of who each other work, right right.
- 27:01Speaker 1: It was just like he's he's the guy teaching me
- 27:04Speaker 1: to play, and I'm just a person sitting here.
- 27:07Speaker 3: Yeah, it's funny. I haven't said this to Cole, but
- 27:10Speaker 3: Cole reminds me of the He's the altered roadie, like
- 27:14Speaker 3: literally follows follows altered with every like he knows more
- 27:18Speaker 3: about Altered than probably people that work for the company
- 27:21Speaker 3: he does.
- 27:22Speaker 1: It's it's absolutely ridiculous how much he knows. And then
- 27:26Speaker 1: like and like he teases it on the show too.
- 27:30Speaker 3: Oh, it's frustrating.
- 27:31Speaker 1: I just want to let you all know that doesn't
- 27:33Speaker 1: end on the show. He does this all week. Fucking WM.
- 27:38Speaker 1: I just have to deal call. He's like, let me
- 27:41Speaker 1: just drop a hint, let me drop a hint, and
- 27:43Speaker 1: I'm like, just spit it out, like I don't know
- 27:45Speaker 1: what you're saying, and I don't have the time to
- 27:48Speaker 1: decode what you're trying to tell me.
- 27:52Speaker 3: Yeah, like this week I was getting all the just
- 27:55Speaker 3: there's gonna be something in something in my neck of
- 27:57Speaker 3: the woods. Close to me in my state.
- 28:00Speaker 1: That's today, right, Yeah, that's it's just ridiculous, like because.
- 28:05Speaker 3: Because I couldn't, I can't make gen Corn. We're away
- 28:08Speaker 3: to family family, you know, that would have been the
- 28:09Speaker 3: first gen Con I'd go to. But he said, if
- 28:13Speaker 3: you could make the next week, we're going to get
- 28:15Speaker 3: we want to get together. They're going to announce something,
- 28:18Speaker 3: but I can't tell you anything. Yeah, so I'm like, okay,
- 28:21Speaker 3: well all right, and thankfully it didn't wait too long
- 28:23Speaker 3: and it's it's out and that's probably the news Wookie
- 28:26Speaker 3: that you may want to talk about.
- 28:27Speaker 1: Which we talk about because saw the print because so
- 28:30Speaker 1: we got two things to kind of go over this week.
- 28:32Speaker 1: It's the Print on Demand and then from local Champion
- 28:37Speaker 1: to World's Best. That's the two things he gave to me.
- 28:42Speaker 1: Which one where you get.
- 28:43Speaker 3: Interesting because they're giving an incentive and the incentive is
- 28:47Speaker 3: pretty cool.
- 28:48Speaker 2: Yeah. I want to talk about this real quick because
- 28:50Speaker 2: I saw something and I kind of want to rant
- 28:51Speaker 2: about it a little bit, but I do want to
- 28:52Speaker 2: talk about the print on demand thing real quick.
- 28:54Speaker 1: All right, go for it.
- 28:58Speaker 2: Okay, So Print on Demand has officially launched kind of right,
- 29:02Speaker 2: we're still kind of in the open beta set. Apparently,
- 29:07Speaker 2: according to what they've said, there's initial production slot scheduled
- 29:10Speaker 2: for April twenty fourth, right the day before the open
- 29:13Speaker 2: beta launch, and then that slot was postponed till May thirteenth,
- 29:18Speaker 2: and then basically I think in what is it, May
- 29:22Speaker 2: thirteenth is like the full thing, But basically they're saying
- 29:25Speaker 2: that May and June, throughout May and June, with the
- 29:30Speaker 2: first actual print on demand production date in July, everybody's
- 29:34Speaker 2: getting bonus.
- 29:35Speaker 3: Packs, yes, yes, which is.
- 29:38Speaker 2: Kind of sick. So basically they're saying.
- 29:41Speaker 3: You're getting one cod one unique, you're going to get
- 29:44Speaker 3: a unique depending on how many you get, but then
- 29:46Speaker 3: they're putting other tokens to protect the unique yep.
- 29:49Speaker 2: Yeah, So basically they're saying that the contents of the
- 29:51Speaker 2: bonus pack are one unique card from Whispers of the
- 29:53Speaker 2: Maze and then six additional cards intended to protect to
- 29:57Speaker 2: protect the unique, so token cards and foilers. So that's
- 30:00Speaker 2: spending on the rarey.
- 30:01Speaker 1: Let's kind of go through this real quick. You gave
- 30:02Speaker 1: out the dates beta participants. The sclots have been scheduled
- 30:07Speaker 1: for April twenty fourth, the day before the open beta launch.
- 30:09Speaker 1: The slot has been postponed to May thirteenth, twenty twenty five,
- 30:12Speaker 1: due to technical issues. No worries though. If you place
- 30:15Speaker 1: your order for the date, it's simply added to the
- 30:17Speaker 1: newly registered orders and will be produced on May thirteenth.
- 30:22Speaker 1: So pushed back two weeks. So yeah, pushed back a
- 30:24Speaker 1: little bit. Not not really a big deal. I'm sure
- 30:26Speaker 1: there's some crying, right, because that's what we u that's
- 30:30Speaker 1: what we players do. We cry about things and everything's
- 30:34Speaker 1: over and this is the end of Altered and oh,
- 30:37Speaker 1: you know, Magic's been dying for twenty five years. Guys,
- 30:39Speaker 1: it'll it'll be okay. Yeah.
- 30:41Speaker 2: I saw somebody say that this was too little, too late.
- 30:44Speaker 2: I'm like, for what, Yeah, Magic's bevative thing on the
- 30:49Speaker 2: on the market right now for a tcg oh boo hoo.
- 30:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:52Speaker 2: So that kind of just cooked me just a little bit.
- 30:55Speaker 2: I was like, this is the stupidest rant ever. But
- 30:58Speaker 2: people complaining about like one of the greatest innovations in
- 31:02Speaker 2: card games that is delayed because they have to build
- 31:06Speaker 2: it from scratch, and they're like, oh, here, we're giving
- 31:08Speaker 2: you free stuff if you order from it, and saying
- 31:11Speaker 2: too little, too late, please.
- 31:13Speaker 1: Yeah, So to thank you all for your incredible patience
- 31:15Speaker 1: and unwavering support, We've prepared something special for you for
- 31:19Speaker 1: a very limited time. For every Print on Demand order place,
- 31:23Speaker 1: and depending on the number of packs ordered, you'll receive
- 31:26Speaker 1: one or more bonus packs, each containing a random unique
- 31:30Speaker 1: card from Whispers from the Maze, along with common, rare,
- 31:33Speaker 1: and unique foilers these will deliver. These will be delivered
- 31:37Speaker 1: as additional bonus packs along with your order. Contents of
- 31:41Speaker 1: the bonus pack are as follows. One unique card from
- 31:44Speaker 1: Whispers of the Maze and six additional primary six additional
- 31:48Speaker 1: cards primarily intended to protect the unique card, token cards
- 31:53Speaker 1: and foilers of all rarities. Here's how it's going to
- 31:56Speaker 1: break down. So one to two Print on Demand packs,
- 31:59Speaker 1: your gonna get one bonus, three to four, two, five
- 32:02Speaker 1: to eight, three, nine to eleven, four, twelve to thirteen, five,
- 32:07Speaker 1: and fourteen to fifteen six.
- 32:12Speaker 2: That's kind of sick.
- 32:13Speaker 3: So a bonus is great. You're getting a unique per
- 32:18Speaker 3: per order, I mean a minimum.
- 32:20Speaker 1: You can't argue with that too much, right Like You're
- 32:24Speaker 1: I'm getting a unique, I mean uniques in this game
- 32:27Speaker 1: are unlike any other I've ever played, because normally you know, normally,
- 32:33Speaker 1: no matter what you know, you pull the I guess
- 32:37Speaker 1: the high card, right, which is the gold card?
- 32:40Speaker 2: Right?
- 32:40Speaker 1: You're like, ah, yeah, not so much in this game, right,
- 32:45Speaker 1: there are bad uniques, which is incredibly bad.
- 32:50Speaker 3: But I'll say the second set there is not as bad,
- 32:53Speaker 3: not as many bad I mean awful ones. Whereas from
- 32:56Speaker 3: the first set they hadn't really got their algorithm ready yet,
- 33:00Speaker 3: and you had some cards that were worse than the rare.
- 33:02Speaker 3: I expect every unique to be better than a rare equivalent,
- 33:05Speaker 3: you would hope, right, Yeah, yeah, they're getting better at
- 33:08Speaker 3: the the second set, uniques all seem stronger in terms
- 33:13Speaker 3: of their comparison in comparison to a common and a
- 33:15Speaker 3: rare equivalent, and they are just at least they've said
- 33:18Speaker 3: that in their in their interviews that they're getting better
- 33:21Speaker 3: with that algorithm to make them stronger now, not make
- 33:23Speaker 3: them as broken as some of the ones I've had
- 33:25Speaker 3: to bear or erata, right, but better than a rare.
- 33:29Speaker 2: I saw one today that was actually kind of wild
- 33:31Speaker 2: from set too. It was it was actually kind of good. Uh,
- 33:36Speaker 2: and we may have a new altered player in our
- 33:38Speaker 2: pod because of it.
- 33:40Speaker 1: Nice I mean bringing bringing new people in is always
- 33:45Speaker 1: a difficulty, right, and it's it's taking people away from
- 33:49Speaker 1: the magics of the world and getting them to try
- 33:51Speaker 1: something new. I mean since the dawn of time, that's
- 33:54Speaker 1: kind of been a struggle, right, Like, I mean, I
- 33:58Speaker 1: feel like this has been a constant struggle for most
- 34:00Speaker 1: of my life, right, I mean, you're ready to here.
- 34:04Speaker 1: I'm gonna name off some card games and you can
- 34:06Speaker 1: tell me whether you've heard of them or not, right,
- 34:07Speaker 1: Are you ready? All right? So obviously we did Legend.
- 34:11Speaker 1: Have you ever heard of Seventh C.
- 34:13Speaker 3: No, Oh, that's the Pirate one.
- 34:15Speaker 1: That's the Pirate one. Yeah. I love that game.
- 34:17Speaker 3: I mean, I mean that's that's not that's not that
- 34:22Speaker 3: ode of a game that's really old. Oh really, Maybe
- 34:26Speaker 3: it is a new one that's a Pirate one that's
- 34:28Speaker 3: coming out.
- 34:28Speaker 2: I just wait, hold on.
- 34:30Speaker 1: There was there was Seventh C. And then there was
- 34:33Speaker 1: the one Wiz Whiz Kids had released, which was I
- 34:36Speaker 1: think it was just Pirates of the Caribbean, which was
- 34:38Speaker 1: the little cardboard pirateships right played with I played that.
- 34:44Speaker 1: It was okay.
- 34:46Speaker 2: There was Imagination though Imagination made a comeback to on
- 34:50Speaker 2: Kickstarter too.
- 34:50Speaker 1: It did. I I me and Felix. We're talking about
- 34:55Speaker 1: it because I I I only had one person to
- 34:59Speaker 1: play Imagine Nation with at my local when it was out,
- 35:03Speaker 1: so I didn't get to play it a ton and
- 35:04Speaker 1: I I love it. I thought it was I I
- 35:07Speaker 1: loved it. It was so good. But like, getting people
- 35:12Speaker 1: to like try anything new is so difficult right especially
- 35:17Speaker 1: where like Commander right now and just everything magic is
- 35:21Speaker 1: such a juggernaut.
- 35:24Speaker 2: I've been trying to get people in my body and
- 35:25Speaker 2: played the final Fantasy Trading card game, so trust me,
- 35:28Speaker 2: I'm well aware.
- 35:29Speaker 3: Yeah, and nick I, I've said to you, I'll play it,
- 35:32Speaker 3: but I'd have to be taught as I play. But
- 35:34Speaker 3: my question is why, because like, why is Friday? Well,
- 35:40Speaker 3: magic owings Friday basically, and that's my mind always goes to.
- 35:44Speaker 3: That's the day that people say they want to do something.
- 35:46Speaker 3: They go out for drinks, so some people want to
- 35:48Speaker 3: go play board games, card games, and that's the night
- 35:51Speaker 3: that's usually set aside. But what I don't get is
- 35:55Speaker 3: you got your friends with someone and you say try
- 35:57Speaker 3: this game and they're like no, because it's not magic,
- 35:59Speaker 3: and that that does compute with me, Like it's not
- 36:02Speaker 3: about what you're playing, it's who you're spending time with.
- 36:06Speaker 1: So a lot of that is a lot of that
- 36:09Speaker 1: is game stores. Right. They know they know where their
- 36:12Speaker 1: bread's buttered, right, Like they're not dumb. These these these
- 36:15Speaker 1: people are business people, right. They know what's paying the
- 36:19Speaker 1: bills and they you know, I've run a retail store
- 36:22Speaker 1: pretty much my entire adult career, right, Like I've been
- 36:26Speaker 1: a retail manager. I now run a pawn shop. Right.
- 36:32Speaker 1: I can tell you what sells and what doesn't right
- 36:36Speaker 1: off the top of my head because I know what
- 36:38Speaker 1: I'm constantly looking for and what i'm and what is
- 36:41Speaker 1: constantly going out the door and what isn't. Right. And
- 36:47Speaker 1: new games are tough, right, everybody you know, especially now
- 36:52Speaker 1: you know, go on anything you nerdy YouTube, right man.
- 36:56Speaker 1: Magic's everywhere, right, You've you've got these huge events that
- 37:00Speaker 1: that are that are doing Magic Commander. And that's why
- 37:04Speaker 1: I think, like I would love for Altered to do
- 37:07Speaker 1: some form of like a command like a multiplayer right,
- 37:11Speaker 1: because multiplayer is such it brings all aspects of it
- 37:16Speaker 1: together with your with your playgroup. Right. You can be
- 37:22Speaker 1: super sweaty if you want to, if that's what your
- 37:24Speaker 1: playgroup likes to do. You could be super casual with
- 37:28Speaker 1: it if that's what your playgroup wants to do. It's all.
- 37:30Speaker 1: It's all dependent on the playgroup that you have. And
- 37:34Speaker 1: that's where commander really shines is because you know, basically
- 37:39Speaker 1: there is no rules to commander. You can pretty much
- 37:41Speaker 1: do whatever you want as long as everyone agrees.
- 37:45Speaker 2: So yeah, that's pretty true.
- 37:48Speaker 3: So if I was looking at it, do you play?
- 37:51Speaker 3: It's a full people or right people game?
- 37:53Speaker 1: It's commander is a four is a four person pod?
- 37:56Speaker 2: Okay?
- 37:57Speaker 3: Traditionally one versus wants to one against all?
- 38:01Speaker 2: It is.
- 38:03Speaker 1: It is one you are, you are alone. It is
- 38:06Speaker 1: a battle royale.
- 38:08Speaker 3: Which is awesome because because I think that is that
- 38:10Speaker 3: is missing in the altered Contact because two verses two
- 38:13Speaker 3: is the format. But I like the idea of one
- 38:15Speaker 3: versus one my whole mindset. I know you guys spoke
- 38:18Speaker 3: last week or the week before about various I guess
- 38:22Speaker 3: alternate games. I would like one versus all use the
- 38:26Speaker 3: same track that you use for two verses two, but
- 38:29Speaker 3: your goal is actually you start from one location and
- 38:32Speaker 3: you just got to get to the end or you
- 38:33Speaker 3: get them both to meet at you.
- 38:35Speaker 2: Oh that sounds cool.
- 38:37Speaker 3: Right, You either make it go left and right, but
- 38:40Speaker 3: you are playing against the left, the person to your
- 38:42Speaker 3: left and the person to your right, but so's everyone else.
- 38:45Speaker 3: And if you eliminate something, this is the other thing is,
- 38:47Speaker 3: you can't eliminate anyone. So it becomes four versus one,
- 38:50Speaker 3: versus three, and then becomes one versus two, then becomes
- 38:52Speaker 3: one versus one. How do you make that environment because
- 38:55Speaker 3: then you don't have the I like that competitive side,
- 39:00Speaker 3: but in a fun way where you can get really
- 39:02Speaker 3: mad at someone and just the whole team is ganging
- 39:04Speaker 3: up on someone to kick him out. And that's hilarious
- 39:06Speaker 3: in and of itself.
- 39:07Speaker 1: Yeah, right, I mean that's how commander becomes right, like
- 39:11Speaker 1: some person inevitably because somebody has to.
- 39:15Speaker 3: The joke, right, the one that everyone thinks is a joke.
- 39:17Speaker 3: You just gotta get him out.
- 39:18Speaker 1: And no matter what, like, no matter what, eventually somebody
- 39:22Speaker 1: is going to like be seen as, oh, this person's
- 39:28Speaker 1: starting to win. We we should we should all do
- 39:33Speaker 1: something about that, and y'all do and it becomes very
- 39:36Speaker 1: you know, chaotic, but in that fun way where you know,
- 39:41Speaker 1: like you know, because a lot of the times, like oh,
- 39:44Speaker 1: in the everyone's trying to take care of this person.
- 39:47Speaker 1: Somebody else now all of a sudden is now in
- 39:50Speaker 1: the lead. And now all right, well you know, now
- 39:52Speaker 1: enemies become allies, and now we got to take care
- 39:55Speaker 1: of this person because now all of a sudden they're
- 39:57Speaker 1: in the lead. Right, that's and that's I know Cole
- 40:00Speaker 1: hates it, but I love alternate win conditions. I love
- 40:05Speaker 1: the cards that basically say you win the game because
- 40:08Speaker 1: you did a thing. Yeah, I'm I mean, go ahead.
- 40:17Speaker 1: I still have my Lyra Festival duck built.
- 40:21Speaker 2: I have a moon a Festival deck built, and it rules.
- 40:24Speaker 2: It is so much fun to play.
- 40:26Speaker 1: It's just that that win out of nowhere. Right I
- 40:29Speaker 1: get here, I'm going to bring out a wrestling term.
- 40:33Speaker 1: If any of you watch wrestling, like in the in
- 40:35Speaker 1: the the current era, right, what's the one thing everyone
- 40:38Speaker 1: looks for. It's the r KAO out of nowhere. Right
- 40:41Speaker 1: when Randy Orton's about, You're looking to see what crazy
- 40:45Speaker 1: ship that guy is going to do with the r KO.
- 40:48Speaker 1: That's all you want to see, right, That's where that's
- 40:50Speaker 1: why we're all here. That's why we paid our money
- 40:52Speaker 1: for the tickets. Right and and that's what alternate wing
- 40:56Speaker 1: conditions are, right, It is that r KAO out of nowhere. Yeah.
- 41:00Speaker 1: Are they frustrating, absolutely, but are when pulled off, are
- 41:04Speaker 1: they fun? I think so yeah.
- 41:06Speaker 3: Even from both sides, you're like, I didn't see that coming,
- 41:09Speaker 3: it's great, right, Or if you did see it coming,
- 41:11Speaker 3: you're you're always so worried about it. It's fantastic. Now,
- 41:13Speaker 3: I'll say Altered, because of its non instant instance as
- 41:18Speaker 3: part of the game, is actually really tailor made for
- 41:20Speaker 3: a one versa all format that that works. I like
- 41:24Speaker 3: the way so I used to play. We'll still play
- 41:26Speaker 3: Flesh and Blood. With Flesh and Blood, the full multi
- 41:29Speaker 3: format is you play against your left and your right,
- 41:32Speaker 3: but as you eliminate people then then it becomes a
- 41:35Speaker 3: smaller group and pods. So you're not actually too worried
- 41:38Speaker 3: about the person in front of you, but if they
- 41:41Speaker 3: get if the person next to you gets eliminated, now
- 41:43Speaker 3: they become a threat and you're finding that balance. But
- 41:46Speaker 3: I think you can do it pretty easily in Altered.
- 41:49Speaker 3: It's just a I wonder.
- 41:51Speaker 1: I wonder there's a game, so Flesh and Blood took
- 41:56Speaker 1: that from an even older game that is actually and
- 42:00Speaker 1: there might be an older game that it took it
- 42:02Speaker 1: from that, But there used to be a game, and
- 42:04Speaker 1: it went by two names. It eventually was known as
- 42:09Speaker 1: Vampire the Masquerade the card game where the whole card
- 42:13Speaker 1: game was designed to not play one v one but
- 42:16Speaker 1: to play in a big and a big multiplayer event.
- 42:20Speaker 3: And Flesh and Blood has it's normally one verse one,
- 42:25Speaker 3: but it's it's the one of the old format, which.
- 42:27Speaker 1: Yeah, what is that called? I don't remember what they
- 42:30Speaker 1: call it.
- 42:31Speaker 3: Oh, I can't remember. That's pretty bad for someone that's
- 42:33Speaker 3: played it for so many years.
- 42:35Speaker 1: Right, yeah, but I know exactly what you're talking about.
- 42:37Speaker 1: And it's normally played in a pot of four. And well,
- 42:41Speaker 1: when Flesh and Blood, you can attack the person to
- 42:43Speaker 1: your left or your right. In Vampire, you were always
- 42:47Speaker 1: going left. You were attacking the person on your left,
- 42:52Speaker 1: so always help you know, skip the person on your right.
- 42:55Speaker 1: And that person behind you was kind of always your friend, right, Hey,
- 42:59Speaker 1: how can you help me out? Right? So on and
- 43:01Speaker 1: so forth. But eventually, you know, your friend became the
- 43:04Speaker 1: person that was now hunting you.
- 43:07Speaker 3: Yeah that's cool. So it's Ultimate Pitch Fight ups is
- 43:10Speaker 3: what they called it. MM hmm, yes, that is what
- 43:13Speaker 3: it was called. But that yeah, Vampire the Masquerade. It
- 43:15Speaker 3: was originally known as Jahad and then nine to eleven happened,
- 43:18Speaker 3: so they changed. It's a good marketing tool to change that.
- 43:24Speaker 1: Yeah, all of a sudden, it was yeah, I remark
- 43:26Speaker 1: because I still I don't have them anymore. But I
- 43:28Speaker 1: had a bunch of cards, you know, because they reprint stuff,
- 43:31Speaker 1: and I didn't. I didn't know what's the time, what
- 43:33Speaker 1: it was. It was like, what's Jahad? They're like, well,
- 43:35Speaker 1: it's vampire, but you know it doesn't go over so
- 43:38Speaker 1: well on that one days.
- 43:39Speaker 3: Oh okay, no, well that's funny.
- 43:43Speaker 2: Makes sense just as a random like because again the
- 43:46Speaker 2: ADHD is strong with this one. Sure have you read
- 43:50Speaker 2: the lore behind as Modius?
- 43:53Speaker 1: I have not.
- 43:54Speaker 3: Yes, So they bring up the recording.
- 43:56Speaker 2: Yeah, we just did the recordings for them for Tales
- 43:59Speaker 2: from the Tumult.
- 44:00Speaker 1: Nice.
- 44:00Speaker 2: But they mentioned the old uh Satanas, Uh what is it? Something?
- 44:07Speaker 3: Veritas Veritas an old French D and D game that
- 44:12Speaker 3: they put on the advertising a game from the eighties,
- 44:15Speaker 3: saying you should play this game.
- 44:18Speaker 1: Ken this game. Are there people still playing that? Anybody?
- 44:21Speaker 1: Do any research by off people? Are still.
- 44:24Speaker 2: They did a reprint of it in twenty fifteen.
- 44:27Speaker 1: It's so crazy how some of that so weird, How
- 44:29Speaker 1: some of that old stuff comes back too, right, I.
- 44:32Speaker 2: Know, right the weirdest ways too, that you don't expect.
- 44:35Speaker 1: All these card games that I remember playing, like Imagine
- 44:37Speaker 1: Nation just had one warl or just had one. It
- 44:40Speaker 1: was like, man, this is so weird. All these games
- 44:42Speaker 1: I remember and I love playing, and I you know,
- 44:45Speaker 1: now I'm an old nerd with money, and it's like, oh.
- 44:52Speaker 2: I have never felt that more. Oh my gosh.
- 44:55Speaker 1: That's so true in your in your you know, being
- 44:58Speaker 1: a kid right eleven, twelve, thirteen to fourteen. You know
- 45:01Speaker 1: in teenage years, you didn't have money, so you kind
- 45:03Speaker 1: of just scored. You know. That's I think that's where
- 45:05Speaker 1: the nostalgia comes from a lot of it too, because
- 45:07Speaker 1: you just kind of you and your friends just kind
- 45:09Speaker 1: of scrape together whatever you had right and made it work.
- 45:14Speaker 1: And now it's like now I'm old, and it's like, well,
- 45:16Speaker 1: I'm gonna buy the best things. Why would I? Why
- 45:18Speaker 1: would I do that?
- 45:19Speaker 2: See here's where it gets funny, because when I was
- 45:21Speaker 2: a kid, my parents were always they were always the
- 45:24Speaker 2: people trying to make us to make the decision right,
- 45:26Speaker 2: me and my brothers. So when we were kids, it
- 45:28Speaker 2: was you can either have a birthday party or you
- 45:30Speaker 2: can get one hundred bucks.
- 45:33Speaker 1: Looking for I'd go for the Hundi too, Would you
- 45:36Speaker 1: go for one hundred Yeah?
- 45:38Speaker 2: Ten out of ten times we take to Benjamin, Yeah.
- 45:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 45:42Speaker 2: So then we'd either go buy like a game Boy
- 45:43Speaker 2: game or go buy a book.
- 45:45Speaker 3: So it's it's about industry. One thing you said, will Key,
- 45:47Speaker 3: and this is it's not me trying to interview yous
- 45:51Speaker 3: is what we do on our side, but we will
- 45:52Speaker 3: have you made on our podcast one honesdays one day
- 45:54Speaker 3: because your experience is very unique, and no punt intended
- 45:58Speaker 3: that they kind of you usually whenever I said, he like,
- 46:02Speaker 3: but you you don't have access to altered locally, yet
- 46:08Speaker 3: you are pursuing the avenue of getting the cards regardless,
- 46:14Speaker 3: so that then should the opportunity arise, you can play it.
- 46:17Speaker 3: You don't enjoy playing online, which is the avenue created
- 46:21Speaker 3: for those that live far away from an LGS that
- 46:23Speaker 3: is supporting the game, So how do you keep your
- 46:26Speaker 3: passion for the game going outside of the podcast.
- 46:29Speaker 1: Because that's like I get to meet up with Dexter
- 46:32Speaker 1: every so often play okay, so I mean that's just
- 46:36Speaker 1: with friends. Yeah, you play with friends, you know. Dexter
- 46:39Speaker 1: goes to Vall Tours. I go to Vall. I've already
- 46:41Speaker 1: you know, we've already messaged and Ti, I'm like, bring
- 46:43Speaker 1: your Altered and he's like, okay, I got it. And
- 46:45Speaker 1: I was like, oh yeah, and bring whatever you have
- 46:47Speaker 1: for Larra and yusmere for me, would you? Okay? I
- 46:50Speaker 1: got you?
- 46:51Speaker 2: All right?
- 46:51Speaker 1: Cool?
- 46:51Speaker 3: And which which Lira deck are you playing these days? Which?
- 46:54Speaker 1: Right now? I still have a fan? Okay, so my
- 46:57Speaker 1: favorite is not as what I'm playing, right, So what
- 47:02Speaker 1: really drew me into Altered? I started out I played
- 47:07Speaker 1: the Yazbir starter.
- 47:10Speaker 3: Wasn't my jam, right, you know, it just wasn't.
- 47:14Speaker 1: It wasn't it was. It was fine, but I think
- 47:17Speaker 1: we can all agree that, like the starter was kind
- 47:19Speaker 1: of weak compared to the other starters, even though it
- 47:23Speaker 1: was seen as like the hero might have at that
- 47:25Speaker 1: time been the front runner as the best hero.
- 47:31Speaker 3: Yeah, it was fantastic, mechanic.
- 47:33Speaker 1: Yeah, and then I was playing around with some of
- 47:36Speaker 1: the other ones. I don't know, this is gonna sound weird.
- 47:41Speaker 1: I have an affinity for pink.
- 47:44Speaker 3: Right, Like, think you told us about Flamingos already.
- 47:48Speaker 1: I like Flamingos. I wear pink shirts, right Like. It's
- 47:52Speaker 1: just like I was like, what's this one? Was this
- 47:54Speaker 1: pink one? Right? And he's like, you don't want to
- 47:57Speaker 1: play that one. It's really tough to play. It's probab
- 48:00Speaker 1: probably like not your style. And I was like, well,
- 48:02Speaker 1: what is it. He's like, well, there's a lot of
- 48:03Speaker 1: rolling dice, and I was like rolling dice. I was like,
- 48:06Speaker 1: how do they get rolling dice into this game? And
- 48:08Speaker 1: I'm starting to read the card and I'm reading right now.
- 48:10Speaker 1: I was like, is this gambling? He's like yeah, He's
- 48:16Speaker 1: like yeah, kind of all Elirah kind of does that.
- 48:17Speaker 1: It's kind of like a big gamble. And I'm like, dude,
- 48:21Speaker 1: I'm a degenerate gambler. Like whenever given the opportunity to gamble,
- 48:27Speaker 1: I will probably gamble, right like. And so then I
- 48:31Speaker 1: played it and I loved it, and I was like,
- 48:34Speaker 1: you know, I was like, this is this is my
- 48:36Speaker 1: style of deck, right, This is very trolley, this is
- 48:39Speaker 1: very me right, like, this is this is this is
- 48:44Speaker 1: somebody will show up to an event, right, and ruin
- 48:49Speaker 1: someone's day, Like they're going to be like the super
- 48:52Speaker 1: decked out, the super competitive. They've got a hundred reps,
- 48:57Speaker 1: they know every matchup, Yeah, you gotta so on and
- 49:00Speaker 1: so forth, and they're gonna sit across from this deck
- 49:04Speaker 1: and just absolutely lose and just like their day is ruined.
- 49:09Speaker 1: Where do I buy it?
- 49:10Speaker 3: And and you would make a very similar and that's
- 49:14Speaker 3: all the play.
- 49:16Speaker 1: So I went and yeah, I went, and I met,
- 49:18Speaker 1: I bought. I bought an Avenka deck from from gen Con.
- 49:24Speaker 1: That that was what I came what I came back with.
- 49:27Speaker 1: And then I got a couple of boxes of just
- 49:31Speaker 1: the regular stuff. I didn't do the Kickstarter stuff, but
- 49:34Speaker 1: just the regular stuff. Cracked them open and then I'm
- 49:37Speaker 1: I'm always a bi singles type of person.
- 49:41Speaker 3: It's the smarttest. It's the smartest way of buying cards.
- 49:43Speaker 1: It takes buying packs. But again it's a struggle, right,
- 49:48Speaker 1: Like most of my locals like don't have any most
- 49:52Speaker 1: of them don't even know what it is. But there's
- 49:55Speaker 1: there's there's one place that like knows what it is
- 49:58Speaker 1: and they run an event and they're like, yeah, we
- 50:01Speaker 1: run it on Wednesdays. I was like, oh, perfect, right,
- 50:05Speaker 1: Like I do key Forge on Tuesdays, I record on
- 50:08Speaker 1: Thursdays and Fridays. Wednesdays is like golden and they're like, yeah,
- 50:15Speaker 1: but we're changing it to Thursdays. I was like no.
- 50:19Speaker 1: I was like why. I just I remember messaging him back,
- 50:21Speaker 1: going why would you do that? Why? And He's like
- 50:24Speaker 1: the last one moster people can meet, And I was like, ah,
- 50:28Speaker 1: but my feelings.
- 50:29Speaker 3: Especially when a game is young, you've got to go
- 50:30Speaker 3: with the community, and unfortunately, if you can't attend, you
- 50:34Speaker 3: can't attend. That's what happened to me. At one of
- 50:36Speaker 3: the tumults. I was helping Oasis Games Din downtown Salt
- 50:40Speaker 3: Lake basically advertise for their tumult, and then they realized
- 50:45Speaker 3: that they were going to do their on the same day,
- 50:48Speaker 3: but at a different time than another store an hour away.
- 50:51Speaker 3: They're like, we're going to move it to Sunday, and
- 50:53Speaker 3: I'm like, oh, I can't do Sunday. But you know what,
- 50:56Speaker 3: you got to do what's best for the store where
- 50:58Speaker 3: you think you're going to draw the most people in.
- 50:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean the community.
- 51:02Speaker 3: Feel bad because I can't support you, I can't be
- 51:04Speaker 3: there to play as well. But we but you know,
- 51:08Speaker 3: if that helps bring more people in, I'd rather miss
- 51:10Speaker 3: out knowing that I can still play another day. And
- 51:15Speaker 3: they also kind of create they create an opportunity for
- 51:18Speaker 3: me to play on any day of the week if
- 51:20Speaker 3: I just bring one other person and I get my
- 51:22Speaker 3: adventure pass. That's pretty cool that that story is really
- 51:26Speaker 3: really good on that front to basically say that. And
- 51:28Speaker 3: we're trying myself and the Nick You've gone a couple
- 51:30Speaker 3: of times as well. We will try to advertise wherever
- 51:33Speaker 3: we can, but it is really hard to bring people
- 51:36Speaker 3: into a game when there isn't a crowd of four
- 51:39Speaker 3: to eight already that someone can get that vibe and go,
- 51:42Speaker 3: I can I can join to this network rather than
- 51:46Speaker 3: I'm going to have to build the network.
- 51:49Speaker 1: And then yeah, I mean even four to eight sometimes
- 51:52Speaker 1: isn't enough. I mean, I'll tell you, we have played
- 51:56Speaker 1: Key Forage at the same place for two years, maybe
- 52:00Speaker 1: three years now, and there are six of us and
- 52:06Speaker 1: we've brought in one new person. Oh really, it's a struggle, right,
- 52:10Speaker 1: Building a community is a struggle. Oh yeah, absolutely, Like
- 52:14Speaker 1: so we we take a lot of it off the store, right, like, hey,
- 52:19Speaker 1: like whatever you buy whatever, you buy, will buy right, Like,
- 52:22Speaker 1: you don't got to worry about like, oh, we're going
- 52:24Speaker 1: to be left with dead product or anything like that.
- 52:27Speaker 1: So we will buy it right, Like there's no doubt
- 52:31Speaker 1: one of us will buy it, you know, I mean,
- 52:34Speaker 1: and we we go in and every week we pretty
- 52:36Speaker 1: much play Sealed every week. So every week, you know,
- 52:38Speaker 1: they're selling six to ten decks, right so that they
- 52:43Speaker 1: they remain happy and they allow us, you know, to
- 52:47Speaker 1: use their space, and you know, they're never stuck with anything.
- 52:51Speaker 1: You know, they've bought some stuff and we're like, yeah,
- 52:54Speaker 1: don't buy those. We're like, before you buy anything, just
- 52:57Speaker 1: let us know because like this this is a waste
- 53:00Speaker 1: wants to buy. This was a waste for you because
- 53:03Speaker 1: we'll buy them. But like if you buy more, like
- 53:05Speaker 1: you're kind of on your own.
- 53:07Speaker 3: Yeah. I think I think the sealed format is a
- 53:10Speaker 3: really good way for a store to be able to
- 53:12Speaker 3: get rid of some product quicker, especially sets that are older,
- 53:15Speaker 3: and there's a bit of nostalgia, so people will do it.
- 53:18Speaker 3: We just I don't feel that at least with our
- 53:21Speaker 3: locals local here, Nick, we don't take advantage of that
- 53:25Speaker 3: gameplay very often. And I think we should even if
- 53:28Speaker 3: it's once a month to do that, it's a it's
- 53:30Speaker 3: I actually find it is the easiest way of bringing
- 53:33Speaker 3: new people in because they don't have to have any
- 53:36Speaker 3: any cards. They could just buy get them in the
- 53:38Speaker 3: on the day.
- 53:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean sealed sealed is one of the most
- 53:43Speaker 1: is the easiest and most skilled testing formats.
- 53:46Speaker 3: Ever, it is hard, yes to be really good to
- 53:49Speaker 3: basically know how to read the cards, which are the
- 53:52Speaker 3: two sealeds. I think the drafting is probably the hardest.
- 53:56Speaker 1: So I would say for a year, drafting is very
- 54:00Speaker 1: is always yeah, you're always kind of gotta think. But
- 54:03Speaker 1: I think like if you're doing like a new people like, oh,
- 54:05Speaker 1: we're just you know, this is the time where we're
- 54:07Speaker 1: gonna look to bring new people in. The normal sealed
- 54:10Speaker 1: what is it you buy like six packs or whatever?
- 54:13Speaker 3: I think it's seventy.
- 54:15Speaker 1: Seven okay, and then you build your deck from whatever
- 54:17Speaker 1: you pull. I think that's like the way to go right,
- 54:20Speaker 1: like I believe, because it's like you get it, you
- 54:23Speaker 1: get you pull your stuff right, you build your deck
- 54:27Speaker 1: and then but then you get to walk away with it.
- 54:29Speaker 1: And I think that alter does you know the packs
- 54:32Speaker 1: the prizing system for altered is really good. And as
- 54:35Speaker 1: long as they continue that, like, it will grow. It
- 54:37Speaker 1: will grow. It'll take some time, but it will grow, right,
- 54:41Speaker 1: Like maybe it will. It's gonna take time. It doesn't
- 54:48Speaker 1: have a major ip behind it, right, so that's a struggle, right,
- 54:53Speaker 1: there's no cute little creatures on it, right, and there's
- 54:56Speaker 1: no cartoon.
- 54:57Speaker 3: Well they're a cute little creatures, just not very known
- 54:59Speaker 3: to the rest of the well right there.
- 55:00Speaker 1: You know, their name isn't Pikachuu, so you know, at
- 55:05Speaker 1: least not now, you know, I guess anything is possible
- 55:08Speaker 1: one day, but you know, like it's not a known
- 55:11Speaker 1: right thing. So like you know, and they have these
- 55:13Speaker 1: other things, have cartoons that you know, like oh man,
- 55:16Speaker 1: and all my friends play Pokemon and this that and
- 55:19Speaker 1: everything else. So eventually, just give it time, it will grow.
- 55:23Speaker 1: You know, you're big three. There's only one up there
- 55:26Speaker 1: that's still kind of its own ip ish not really anymore.
- 55:31Speaker 1: But you magic with Magic is so yeah, like it's
- 55:36Speaker 1: just all over the place. But you know the other two,
- 55:39Speaker 1: you know, they Yukio has got a giant cartoon. Is
- 55:42Speaker 1: Yugio still going? Is that still a cartoon that oh.
- 55:45Speaker 2: Heck yeah, man, they just released a new set too.
- 55:47Speaker 1: I know the card game is still going, but like
- 55:49Speaker 1: they still got a cartoon because that's still an anime maybe.
- 55:54Speaker 1: Ald on, Wait, I've got Hulu and a bunch of
- 55:57Speaker 1: other stuff, so let me need some quick digging real
- 56:00Speaker 1: because like a lot of these fly by Night right
- 56:04Speaker 1: are and I do call them fly by Nights because
- 56:06Speaker 1: I'll tell you what, like what is it Universal Fighting System? Right,
- 56:11Speaker 1: and they basically take giant ips and right now, like
- 56:16Speaker 1: they're focused on anime. But I remember for the longest time,
- 56:21Speaker 1: we would we would go into our local and man,
- 56:23Speaker 1: there was a huge my Hero academia like group that
- 56:27Speaker 1: would just come in and play every week. Well, you know,
- 56:31Speaker 1: six months later, you don't see them anymore. They're not
- 56:33Speaker 1: doing anything. And I know they're on to like Attack
- 56:36Speaker 1: on Titan and other things now, but you don't see
- 56:39Speaker 1: them anymore.
- 56:41Speaker 3: No, the one he's a grand Archive, he's the other
- 56:43Speaker 3: one that came out around the same time as Altered.
- 56:45Speaker 3: That's the other one. I hear it, but I don't
- 56:47Speaker 3: see tournaments. I don't see maybe because I'm not at
- 56:50Speaker 3: the game store every day. I don't know what day
- 56:52Speaker 3: they play.
- 56:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I think grand Ark. It sounds familiar, so I
- 56:57Speaker 1: would say yes. But you know, it's one of those
- 57:01Speaker 1: things where like you have to give new players something
- 57:05Speaker 1: to feel good about walking away with.
- 57:08Speaker 3: Yeah, right, And this is this is one thing I
- 57:10Speaker 3: completely advertise for if you are a player of Altered
- 57:14Speaker 3: and you go to a local, if you can work
- 57:16Speaker 3: with your store to have all the bulk be given
- 57:19Speaker 3: away and someone sorted into common decks for people to have,
- 57:23Speaker 3: it makes it so much easier for them to be
- 57:25Speaker 3: able to walk away and have something.
- 57:27Speaker 1: See, I disagree with everything else we throw.
- 57:29Speaker 3: You don't you don't like giving it away the commons and.
- 57:31Speaker 1: You don't like giving anything away, and then the reason
- 57:34Speaker 1: being that it just gives off needy vibes. Right, Like
- 57:39Speaker 1: I remember when when Key Foragers was first starting to go,
- 57:42Speaker 1: and like, obviously we have all these decks and people
- 57:44Speaker 1: are like, I want more decks, I want more decks.
- 57:48Speaker 1: You know, we would give them away, and it's just
- 57:50Speaker 1: like it kind of gets you know. There was even
- 57:52Speaker 1: a somebody started like a program it's called Reforge, so
- 57:55Speaker 1: whatever decks you weren't using, you could send them to
- 57:58Speaker 1: this person and they would send them out to people
- 58:00Speaker 1: who were requesting that, well, just gives me.
- 58:04Speaker 3: That strange that's a full dick. But that's the only
- 58:08Speaker 3: way works right within.
- 58:12Speaker 1: Key Ford. It's really like you can't what do you
- 58:14Speaker 1: give them one part of it and be like, well
- 58:15Speaker 1: find the other three high you know. So I mean
- 58:21Speaker 1: that's the only way it works, like the deck.
- 58:23Speaker 2: But also you have to do a little hunt for
- 58:26Speaker 2: the rest.
- 58:26Speaker 1: Of it, right, you know, there's there's a task that
- 58:29Speaker 1: you also have to do. Nobody likes doing work.
- 58:31Speaker 3: That's what if there's no if there's no investment, there's
- 58:36Speaker 3: there's no.
- 58:38Speaker 1: There's no right if you're just gonna get stuff, yeah,
- 58:42Speaker 1: I mean, okay, so I just get stuff right like
- 58:44Speaker 1: it is. There's no meaning, there's no emotional connection there, right,
- 58:48Speaker 1: so you got to pull them in emotionally like And
- 58:51Speaker 1: what key Ford used to do really with like the
- 58:53Speaker 1: bigger events is they used to have like a prize wall.
- 58:55Speaker 1: And I don't know if Alter is going to do this,
- 58:57Speaker 1: but they used to have a prize wall, right and
- 58:59Speaker 1: you you knew it was on it and it sometimes
- 59:02Speaker 1: would change things we've added, maybe things would disappear. But
- 59:07Speaker 1: like you know, I remember I went to my first
- 59:09Speaker 1: Vault Tour, right, first, first huge event. There's like three
- 59:13Speaker 1: hundred and some odd people there. It's crazy. It was
- 59:17Speaker 1: so big. It was held at a deptcon and it
- 59:19Speaker 1: was so big they had to move it to the
- 59:21Speaker 1: local university down the street because it couldn't fit to
- 59:24Speaker 1: where it was. And man, just like things were flying off,
- 59:29Speaker 1: you know, like you were spending at that time. Every
- 59:31Speaker 1: time you scan in a deck, you got an Ember shard,
- 59:34Speaker 1: and for winning tournaments you got Ember shards, and then
- 59:36Speaker 1: you could go spend those Umber shards that were in
- 59:38Speaker 1: your account on things, whether that was a T shirt
- 59:42Speaker 1: or a matt or whatever. And people were going CRP.
- 59:46Speaker 1: I bought four or five matts, you know, I bought
- 59:48Speaker 1: all sorts of stuff with you know, my Ember shards
- 59:51Speaker 1: that I got, And you go back to your locals,
- 59:54Speaker 1: You're like, look at all this cool shit, right, Like
- 59:58Speaker 1: that's where people like are like, I want it, and
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: it's a little bit of phone all right, I want
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: cool stuff? How do I get cool stuff?
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: Man?
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: You go to these tours and they give you cool stuff.
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: But like your locals needs to feel that way too,
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: Like they need to go back to their friends, you
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: know who maybe aren't playing alterned and be like, guys,
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: look at this cool stuff. Man, I got this sweet unique.
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: I am one hundred percent of proponent of every one
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: of those tournament packs having at least a unique in them. Yeah,
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: because it lets them well back to their one and
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: floor is what you get right now in terms of
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: your promo pack. Everyone.
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: I love how a lot of card games now moving
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: towards giving a promo pack, not a choice of a card,
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: right or one card that's a card for the week
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: of the month, because there's a chance and that's it,
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: Like you could you could have gone awful and you're
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: going to get a card that may be worth a
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: few hundred bucks or maybe just five bucks right as
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: a unique. But at the same time, it's something that's
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: yours and you want to play it, you build a
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: deck around it. That that's the hook, that that that
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: you're probably talking about.
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: Yep.
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: Yeah, And for me, I don't. I have friends that
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: asked me, Hey, I'd like to get in the game,
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: and I'm like, hey, I've got all this bulk. You
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: got this, but you're going to have to if you
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: need to build it. This is how you can build
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: and get your raars. This is your rays will be easy.
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: You got to know what you want. The app helps.
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: The good thing is the app allows you to deck
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: build pretty easy m hm and know what you need
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: and not just that. There's a few other apps that
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: help you look into that. You can look at competitive
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: decks on thirty nine cards. I was gonna ask, did
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: you manage to make it out to any tumult or
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: are you planning on going this last week of the tournament.
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: So there was only three tumults by me, and again
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: they run on Thursdays, oh day, I unfortunately have prior
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: commitments that.
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: Are that's your casting right, Yeah, that is.
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: Racon's corner night and that's been on Thursdays for five years,
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: so it's not going to change.
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: No, Yeah, that's understandable. I know Nick. Nick went to
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: three and he's judging the next one. Nice, he's the.
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: Judge so for tomorrow.
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: Actually, yeah, I'm interested to hear his experience. I've only
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: been able to go to one. The other two I
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: had my daughter's birthday party and my wife's birthday and
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: church and Sunday, right, so I couldn't I couldn't attend
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: those and you know, missing out on family events is
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: a no no for future chances to go to games.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: Well, speaking of cool stuff to win, right, they did
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: announce the World Championships, and I kind of like how
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: they been. This is kind of like it too. This
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: is pretty standard, right, So, altered World Championships in twenty
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: twenty five will use a multi stage global competitive circuit
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: to ensure fair qualifications for all players, regardless of location,
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: offering a clear and accessible path to the highest level
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: of competition through three key phases. Phase one will be
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: qualifiers the first step of the World Championships or the
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: World Championship Qualifiers June through September twenty twenty five, held
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: locally with partners and online via board game Arena. That's cool.
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: I love that. I really really like that.
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: I'm not a huge fan of online play, but that
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: doesn't mean everybody is not. Right and having an event
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: on there that you can qualify for that you don't
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: have to necessarily travel because I'm going to Roseville next
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: week to play a Vault to her, right, I mean
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: you're looking at I'm blowing five hundred bucks easy, right,
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: just between food, gas, lodging, the actual event itself. I'm
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: blowing Speis. Yeah right, Yeah, so it's nice to not
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: gatekeep that and be able to have everybody be able
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: to get in. So these events will give top national
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: players a direct path to the final, and a total
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: of twenty four worldwide players will qualify it through these
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: physical and virtual competitions.
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: Yeah, and we'll maybe I'll just talk a little bit
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: about this. There's three positions available for online play on
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: board game Arena, so only the winner goes through of
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: each of those events, and then there are one per
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: country except for France, which gets four. So the top
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: four in France and then in the US it's the
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: top one in two tournaments every other country, so we
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: got the Netherlands, France, US, Canada, Chile. Yeah, that's that's miney,
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: I know, Brazil, Spain, Italy, UK South Southeast Asia and
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: Korea kind of done a little bit weird where they
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: will win their national championships and then they go into
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: a playoff against each other for the single seat. Germany, China, Greece, No,
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: Australia or New Zealand, which I'm really surprised for a
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: board game, for a card game, because they're usually very
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: quickly the mark when it comes to this. Maybe it
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: hasn't been so far.
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: I am not, and we will get into reasons of
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: why I understand why they did what they did.
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: And actually Chili real quick. So there there are two
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: people from Southeast Asia in Korea, there's two people going.
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: Okay, so the so two qualified players, but they basically
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: bring all their countries together.
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: To h as one. Yeah yeah, yeah, interesting, which honestly,
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: isn't that hard to do in Southeast Asia?
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: Yeah? What were you saying?
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: But that?
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: But their their their second tournament is on an online
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: version of it. So you go to your low your
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: your country's one and then you play off online. Kind
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: of an interesting player? Yeah, why why would you? Why
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: didn't you like it? What were you saying?
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: I didn't like what? I'm sorry I got.
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: So you were saying that you you had a take
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: on on why they did did the way they did.
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: I know why they're doing why why? Well, when you
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: said not, you're talking about no Australian and New Zealand. Yeah.
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: So if you scroll down a little bit, so travel
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: and expenses and accommodations to Paris World Finals. To ensure
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: the best pairs can compete at the highest level, all
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: travel and accommodations costs will be provided for those who
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: reach the World Championship Finals, removing any geographic co assoles.
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: It is. It is awesome, But where are the two
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: places that are the most expensive to fly in and
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: out of.
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: Australia.
- 1:06:37Speaker 3: Australia would probably be the furthest. But but there's direct
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: flights from from Australia down to at least to London,
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: so it assumes.
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: It's still really expensive. It's still expensive, really really really
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: really expensive.
- 1:06:51Speaker 3: Well, like, I used to work for an airline in
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: Australia and I'll say flights from here to South America
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: are more expensive. So I say US travel is cheap.
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: Australia travel overseas isn't that expensive? Europe traveled to South
- 1:07:08Speaker 3: America or Europe travel to Africa is way more expensive.
- 1:07:11Speaker 3: And it's more because of the amount of it's because
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: of the amount of people that travel. A lot of
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: people do. Sidney is a such a busy hub to
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: the UK, given the relationship as part of the Commonwealth,
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: those flights happen are fairly often. But we're not talking cheap.
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: We're still talking about a thousand bucks for a return flight,
- 1:07:32Speaker 3: maybe up to fifteen hundred US. But if you try
- 1:07:35Speaker 3: to go from the US to Africa, you're paying two
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: two and a half thousand dollars a flight.
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: Because I remember last year we were looking at going
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: there was a few flights we were looking because I
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: was looking to go to Vegas for a vault tour
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: in San Antonio, and we were like pricing flights and
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: all this jazz, and we actually found out that Madrid.
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: Like we could go from where we are here in
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: Wisconsin to Madrid for like two fifty Bucks's.
- 1:08:01Speaker 3: Ridiculous, it makes no sense, no sense.
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: My one buddy went, He's like.
- 1:08:08Speaker 3: I'm not going to key Forge, I'm going to Madrid.
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: No, there was a vault tour in Madrid. That's why
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: I looking at And my one buddy went, he took
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: second at the Madrid vaulture. That's awesome.
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: Nice.
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: So he took his wife. He sent his wife out
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: to do Madrid things and he played key Forge.
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: God. Yeah, and that kind of that. That was the plan.
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: I was just in Canada and my wife came up.
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: So I was there for a work conference, and my
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: wife came up the day that the conference ended, and
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: then we spent the rest of the week in Canada
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: for our anniversary and there was a tumult scheduled in
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: Canada for that weekend. Did you get canceled it?
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: Oh?
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: And so, But she was fully prepared, thinking, Oh, he's
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: going to be in a tumult for three hours and
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: then I'm just going to be chilling in Montreal somewhere.
- 1:08:59Speaker 3: You could have gone.
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: Trust happened there.
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: But I will tell you just so again, this is
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: a key Forge thing. But like the very first Vault
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: Tour are the very first actual KFC where we had
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: a World champion crown, because we didn't have a World
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: Championship crown until twenty twenty three.
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: How many years? How many years of the game.
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: Came out in twenty eighteen, Oh jeez, five years we
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: didn't have well it was ended twenty eighteen early twenty nineteen. Yeah,
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: So we didn't have a World Champion crown for a
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: very long time because we they had played, They're like, oh,
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: we're doing Worlds, and then the world shut down and
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: they didn't do Worlds and then obviously a whole bunch
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: of stuff happened. So we didn't have a World Championship
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: crown until like twenty twenty three. But what they did
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: for those vault tours and for the overseas players, they
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: covered all the costs for people to fly in, right,
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: So we had people from Italy, Germany, Spain, Netherlands, South
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: South America, literally all over the world. And it was
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: one of the coolest experiences I think I've ever had
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: because not only that, like I not only do I
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: love playing the game, I host a podcast that goes
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: all over the world. So I've got people from all
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: these other countries coming to me talking to me. You know,
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: I'll love the show. Stuff like that. It was really cool,
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: really fun to do. I mean we literally from everywhere.
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: It's kind of what we want heroes guy to be,
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: you know, kind of like.
- 1:10:41Speaker 3: Your brig and you guys as well, a little Toquana,
- 1:10:43Speaker 3: like I think to be able to create something that,
- 1:10:48Speaker 3: you know, that that brings people together, right, But also
- 1:10:53Speaker 3: I think what what what really struck to me about
- 1:10:56Speaker 3: what you just said, Weoky, is that what you would
- 1:10:59Speaker 3: do being was appreciated. Yeah, that's a big thing because
- 1:11:04Speaker 3: you spend hours and Nick and I have only been
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: doing this together for for around two months, and we
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: literally can spend hours preparing and doing things that gives
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: us no monetary value whatsoever, no monetary return. Heck, we
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: don't even get promos or packs from from Equinox, right, we.
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: Get we don't even get preview cards.
- 1:11:28Speaker 3: Even with your connection with with Corabie that does.
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: Yeah, that's well, yeah, col Cole probably will. So that's
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: that's been my big joke. We'll bring it into your Yeah,
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: that's been my big joke. Is because when they said
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: that they were going to at least like sixty eight
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: cards from trial by for us, and I was like
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: sixty eight. I was like, are there even sixty eight
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: content creators out there? Like, you know, because I'm searching
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: online for this stuff because you know, I want to
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: listen to its.
- 1:11:57Speaker 3: Searching English right in English. Let's say there may be
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: a maximum of twenty people or twenty groups of people
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: that do content that's in my mind, some of which
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: do regular and some do one offs. Some are podcasts,
- 1:12:12Speaker 3: some are videos, some of how to guides whatever you
- 1:12:15Speaker 3: want to call it, or showing others their own decks.
- 1:12:18Speaker 3: But in the French, in French and in Spanish, there
- 1:12:22Speaker 3: is a lot. I would say Italian as well. The
- 1:12:24Speaker 3: French just have a lot and most of them would
- 1:12:25Speaker 3: have gone to the French. He's unfortunately for us, right.
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: I figured that, right, Like, you know, in my mind
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: of mind, I'm like, yeah, that's probably what'll happen. But
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: like I'm like, I'm assuming they want to give up
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: at least some to content creators over here.
- 1:12:39Speaker 3: Yeah, well I'm hoping you do. I hope you do
- 1:12:41Speaker 3: get one. I heard today on I think it was
- 1:12:45Speaker 3: was it the Bravos Hata or one of or not?
- 1:12:47Speaker 3: A guy trying, A guy trying who does a he
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: does a YouTube video. He said that he was given
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: a he was given one for the next release.
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: Yeah, so.
- 1:13:00Speaker 3: Get one. I hope you do. We are definitely lower
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: on the pecking order than you guys since you've been
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: around a little long about Yeah, that's always that's always
- 1:13:06Speaker 3: a hype.
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: Right, But you know that was my thought though. I
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: was like, sixty eight other people, we should probably get one.
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: We'll put in for one. Yeah, and then we did
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: it out and so that's been my joke, right, I
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: was like, we're trying to become the number sixty one
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: best best altered content creator out there so we can
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: get a card.
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: Somebody did ask me when they're going to create companion plushies.
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: Oh okay, so being in something Okay, So key Forge
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: released plushies for some of their creatures, right, yeah, plushies
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: are expensive. Yeah, they incredibly expense. You are talking. So
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: they released two different plushies base value, just getting like
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: the groundwork up and running from you know, so not
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: even materials of actually making them, just to get one created.
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: You're looking at about ten grand whoa, Yeah, that number
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: shocked me too.
- 1:14:12Speaker 3: That's that you're talking design, just.
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: Like design to lay it out before you even like
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: send it off to whoever is going to.
- 1:14:19Speaker 2: Make them ten thousands.
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: Ten thousand dollars.
- 1:14:23Speaker 3: You know where I would do if I was if
- 1:14:26Speaker 3: you were doing this is work alongside someone that does
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: an Etsy store basically give them the right to do
- 1:14:33Speaker 3: something like this and share the profits.
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: So that's that's your double edged sword, right, Like a's
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: his store, but you're talking like you want to do
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: something on a large scale, right, can ats his store
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: handle that amount of volume?
- 1:14:49Speaker 3: Well, this is where you start off with the Etsy store.
- 1:14:52Speaker 3: Once the volume grows, they like they can offset to
- 1:14:55Speaker 3: basically make it be.
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: So you're talking about an that's his star, like they
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: could do the creation and whatnot, and then share somebody.
- 1:15:02Speaker 3: They can do the creation and do a profit share. Now,
- 1:15:05Speaker 3: once again, this is high hopes of the future. I
- 1:15:09Speaker 3: think if they get big enough, why not, right, But
- 1:15:14Speaker 3: they so, Yeah, it's interesting.
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: That'd be pretty cool though. I think that'd be really.
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: Watch watch that. Now that we've said something, Loki is
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: going to listen to this and then bring the idea
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: forward and they're going to release the first teaser for
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: Campanion plushies at Worlds.
- 1:15:30Speaker 3: And just remember, you don't have to make it mass market.
- 1:15:33Speaker 3: One of the things Flesh and Blood did is they
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: one of the heroes that they had. They basically got
- 1:15:38Speaker 3: Wetter Studios to create a bust busts of some of
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: the heroes or one of the heroes, and made only
- 1:15:45Speaker 3: one hundred or a thousand of them.
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: And those those are two very different numbers.
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: That's still had still had to be a expense, that's
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: Wetter Studios.
- 1:15:55Speaker 3: Yeah, but they're from New Zealand as well. Flesh and
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: Blood has created New Zealand, so they help them selves
- 1:16:00Speaker 3: up a fair bit. But even then, it's that that
- 1:16:03Speaker 3: didn't come out until five years after the game released. Sure,
- 1:16:05Speaker 3: they did it, as part of their celebration.
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: That's fair.
- 1:16:09Speaker 3: But it's like all these things will come if the
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: game can give a return. But the game is marketed also,
- 1:16:16Speaker 3: it is marketed as a very low entry cost.
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: And it really is like I think I built my
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: first stack for under one hundred dollars. I think I
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: think all my cards were like seventy five bucks.
- 1:16:32Speaker 3: But I still have decks that I have no unique in,
- 1:16:34Speaker 3: and therefore I'm from an equivalent cost. Especially now, if
- 1:16:37Speaker 3: you look at it, every card, every common card, you
- 1:16:39Speaker 3: can buy for five cents if you're using the marketplace.
- 1:16:43Speaker 3: Of course, it costs you an extra dollar to print
- 1:16:45Speaker 3: it and get it foiled. So say a dollar a card,
- 1:16:49Speaker 3: it's pretty cheap. It is very cheap.
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: It's still cheap. I mean, I'm I'm still on my
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: ever growing journey to get every horder Penguin as I
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: call them. No, like, I just I want all of them. Yeah,
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: I don't want.
- 1:17:05Speaker 3: His law, which I think you guys read last week.
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: Yeah, he's a couple of weeks, so yeah, I want.
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: I will say I have a question for you guys though,
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: so with with the whole you know, qualifiers now and
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: the world and the World Championships being announced with all
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: the rewards that they're doing, do you think they're going
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: to give away awards just for going or do you
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: think that you actually have to participate in order to
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: get the rewards.
- 1:17:29Speaker 3: Well, you have to participate in the sense you have
- 1:17:31Speaker 3: to sign up to get something. But the Adventure Pack
- 1:17:36Speaker 3: Foyle is only if you make top eight.
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: And then you get a booster.
- 1:17:42Speaker 3: Maybe maybe, lookie, do you want to take us through
- 1:17:43Speaker 3: what the rewards will be? But we didn't even finish.
- 1:17:45Speaker 3: There's gonna be.
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: A world chair. Do we go through last think? No,
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: I don't know if we went through last year?
- 1:17:51Speaker 3: Didn't do last Chance? We didn't. We didn't talk about last.
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: So a Last Chance Qualifier will be held in France
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: and autumn of twenty twenty five, during the same event
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: as the World Championship Finals themselves, offering the opportunity for
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: determined players to win one of the last eight slots.
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: Spots joining the twenty four are already qualified. I like that.
- 1:18:11Speaker 3: Cool because it puts this buzz on the Friday night
- 1:18:13Speaker 3: or Saturday night activity that says I may be in
- 1:18:16Speaker 3: the big show.
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: So this is the same thing KeyForge does do, right,
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: now right, alo you hold all the Nationals and all
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: the vaults, and that's one of the big things. Like
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: if you're a competitive player, like you're going to a
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: lot of vaults, You're going to a lot of Nationals.
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: You're trying to win that spot, right, because top two
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: in each format get get an invite, right, and so
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: you're you're going and you're trying to win that invite.
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: And then they do a huge last chance qualifier. They
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: do one for each I'm sorry, no, they just do
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: one because there's three formats in key Forge. And then
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: they you know, by that time, they figured, you know,
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: they know who's there and who's not, who's shown up
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: and who hasn't. They know how many slots they have.
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: So basically they have a big sealed event with whatever
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: the next set is coming out, and of the next
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: set completely so completely new card so nobody has an
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: advantage m hm. And then you know, however many slots
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: depending you know, everyon once that's finished, however many slots
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: that goes to the top players if you're already qualified,
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: because that's kind of the Thursday event, right, if you're
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: already qualified, it goes to the next player, so.
- 1:19:31Speaker 3: You can still play, you just don't get the You've
- 1:19:34Speaker 3: already had the invite.
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: So you already have the invites, so you do have
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: the upper Because again, there's three formats in key Forge.
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: If you if you place and say, all right, I'm
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: I'm an Arkhan, right, which is our like are constructed,
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: but I want to switch to sealed, you have that
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: opportunity at that point if you've placed, so you can
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: chew is to switch if you place high enough, and
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: then obviously.
- 1:20:04Speaker 3: If you so when you qualify, you only qualify for
- 1:20:07Speaker 3: one of the three.
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: So yes, so there's there's three. There's three formats. There's
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: Arcan right, which is you you've you've pulled this deck
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: out of its plastic, you have deemed it worthy, and
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: you have won an event with it because it's good enough.
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: And then there's there's an Alliance format, so it kind
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: of semi construction, right, you have three pods and a
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: key Forge deck, and you are allowed to take pods
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: from the same set and push them all together to
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: make one deck, so kind of a constructed event and
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: then and then a sealed event. So whatever whatever format
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: you won in or you took top two in, that
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: is what you were qualified for.
- 1:20:45Speaker 3: But can you qualify to the three different events? If
- 1:20:47Speaker 3: you win a tournament under the three, you can.
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: You can qualify for them. But at some point you're
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: gonna have to choose. You have to take one. Yeah,
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: because they're all held. They're all held at the same time.
- 1:20:57Speaker 3: Got it. That's that's what I was trying to trying
- 1:20:58Speaker 3: to understand.
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: They literally have you it a separate room and all
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: the events are going on, so you have your arkind,
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: you're sealed in, your alliance. Are all happening at the
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: same time.
- 1:21:08Speaker 3: So one thing that I didn't see in the article,
- 1:21:10Speaker 3: and maybe you guys did, is and this is I'm
- 1:21:12Speaker 3: only asking this question because I saw it with Flesh
- 1:21:14Speaker 3: and Blood in not in the first season, but in
- 1:21:17Speaker 3: the future seasons that they had, is you can only
- 1:21:21Speaker 3: qualify for the country in which you are registered to
- 1:21:24Speaker 3: play can and do Yeah, I didn't see it here either,
- 1:21:30Speaker 3: But if you're American, you cannot go and try to
- 1:21:32Speaker 3: win the Canadian spot.
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I didn't see that.
- 1:21:36Speaker 2: I believe that's correct.
- 1:21:38Speaker 3: That's Flesh and Blood, But I didn't see anything here
- 1:21:41Speaker 3: that said you can't do that. So if someone has
- 1:21:43Speaker 3: the means and the time they could go to all
- 1:21:46Speaker 3: of them to try to get one seat at the
- 1:21:49Speaker 3: table so they can keep trying.
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: You are you could, Yes, it's but it also seems
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: that that's kind of what the last Chance is kind
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: of meant to do.
- 1:21:59Speaker 3: Yeah, but I love the idea of becoming fully regionalized countries.
- 1:22:04Speaker 3: If you're American and your your flag on your on
- 1:22:06Speaker 3: your accounties America, then you will play in the American tournament.
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: All right, Okay, yeah, I get I get where you're
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: coming from yet, because I'll tell you what in Key
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: Forge right now, the Canadian national there's no Canadian Canadian
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: national winner. It is all but won by Americans.
- 1:22:23Speaker 3: So I and I like that to to kind of
- 1:22:27Speaker 3: create that buzz internally in the country. But once again,
- 1:22:30Speaker 3: we'll see.
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: And I'll tell you what. So again. Guy on my show,
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: Doctor Sheep went up to Canada two years ago because
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: he still hadn't had his slot to get into the
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: Worlds and like his last shot literally was driving to
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: Canada and competing in their nationals. He ended up winning
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: in both. He won their Arkon and their he won
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: their Arkan and their Alliance events with the same deck.
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: I actually took art conduct into Alliance and.
- 1:23:02Speaker 3: Then saying, oh, he didn't even blend.
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: No, he didn't, he didn't. Doctor Sheep is very against
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: the Alliance format, mainly because Alliance was so before Alliance
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: became a thing. I had pitched the idea of Alliance
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: three years prior.
- 1:23:20Speaker 3: Did you get a cut of the marketing money?
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: Absolutely not. I was told that, well, you know, multiple
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: people could have the same idea at the same time.
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, you guys had this idea three years ago,
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: before you even owned the game. Yeah, that makes sense.
- 1:23:37Speaker 3: Yeah, and while you had a and with your podcast
- 1:23:40Speaker 3: as well. I'm sure it's recorded. Oh yeah, So there's
- 1:23:44Speaker 3: another funny thing happening in I know, we're talking about
- 1:23:46Speaker 3: a whole bunch of other games. Flesh and Blood. Head
- 1:23:49Speaker 3: has two formats that are that are your your competitive
- 1:23:52Speaker 3: ones that are not sealed. They have what's called Blitz,
- 1:23:55Speaker 3: which is a forty card deck yep. And then you've
- 1:23:57Speaker 3: got your regularly constructed, which is assist sixty card deck.
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: Because Blitz is the one where and the young hero
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: right if they're twenty three points and.
- 1:24:06Speaker 3: Correct twenty hit points instead of forty for the most
- 1:24:08Speaker 3: for the most part now people. One of they have
- 1:24:12Speaker 3: a living legend system that once you hit a certain
- 1:24:14Speaker 3: amount of victory points for your hero across all the
- 1:24:18Speaker 3: tournaments worldwide, it basically retires the deck. You cannot use
- 1:24:22Speaker 3: that hero anymore. So what a hero When one of
- 1:24:24Speaker 3: those heroes retired, the person just just started using young
- 1:24:29Speaker 3: hero version with twenty life and Witty tournaments, we're getting
- 1:24:32Speaker 3: close to winning. So then they change the rules to
- 1:24:35Speaker 3: say young heroes can only play in young tournaments adult
- 1:24:38Speaker 3: heroes in the other one. It's kind of funny that
- 1:24:40Speaker 3: they did that is, but we don't have an extended
- 1:24:43Speaker 3: format yet for all ten. I like my wonder if
- 1:24:46Speaker 3: they I like your your format as well, as long
- 1:24:49Speaker 3: as your your hero can switch the moment. Sorry you,
- 1:24:53Speaker 3: you want to talk a little bit about yours added
- 1:24:56Speaker 3: to this repertoire here.
- 1:24:58Speaker 2: I mean, if I mean we got Look, we've been
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: gabbing for almost two hours now. It feels like it
- 1:25:04Speaker 2: doesn't feel that way in twenty four minutes, but go
- 1:25:06Speaker 2: for it. We'll tie a ball on this eventually, right, Okay? Cool.
- 1:25:12Speaker 2: So I've got a format that I think is pretty cool, okay,
- 1:25:16Speaker 2: called Alliance, and I already know I know. No, listen,
- 1:25:24Speaker 2: I already know that people have already complained to me
- 1:25:26Speaker 2: about the name. You come up with a better name
- 1:25:28Speaker 2: and I'll replace it, all.
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: Right, Well, tell me what it is and I'll think
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: I'll see if I can't come up with a better name.
- 1:25:33Speaker 2: It's a two faction format. Okay, two faction format, still
- 1:25:37Speaker 2: forty cards, nothing's changed. Well, I guess it's forty one
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: technically because you have two heroes that you're allowed to use. Right,
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: So it's two faction format, two heroes that you're allowed
- 1:25:48Speaker 2: to pick. It's roughly the same deck construction. You're only
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: limited to two uniques and sixteen rares and then the
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: rest are comments.
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: So no, no, no, did you say uniques?
- 1:26:06Speaker 2: Two utiques, two uniques and sixteen rares? And then you
- 1:26:11Speaker 2: know you can fill out the rest of your comments.
- 1:26:14Speaker 2: But the idea is is that you can change out
- 1:26:18Speaker 2: your hero if if your hero expedition move forwards at
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: the end of the day, you have to flip your
- 1:26:26Speaker 2: hero so you can choose like your starting hero. But
- 1:26:29Speaker 2: then if your hero side moves forward at the end
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: of the day, you have to flip it. And that
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: feels the narrative of you know one heroes in one
- 1:26:38Speaker 2: hero goes out at the end of the day because
- 1:26:40Speaker 2: they're tired or exhausted, and then the new hero goes
- 1:26:43Speaker 2: in at the next day and then play as normal.
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: So you're flapping heroes basically every other turn.
- 1:26:52Speaker 2: Only if you yeah, only if your hero moves forward.
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: Oh okay, so if it doesn't it So it's kind
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: of like the the gear where it's only if you advance,
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: doesn't go away career. Yeah, hmm, it's interesting.
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: Yeah, because I a problem I see, yeah.
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: Is that might lead to a lot of broken shit.
- 1:27:18Speaker 2: No, that's kind of the point. Okay, that's kind of
- 1:27:21Speaker 2: what I want to see.
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: Oh you want the broken stuff?
- 1:27:23Speaker 2: Yes, I want because you I and you see this
- 1:27:27Speaker 2: in drafts mostly right, because because you're given what two,
- 1:27:31Speaker 2: three factions three in a draft up to three I
- 1:27:37Speaker 2: think that's what it is. But even then you still
- 1:27:41Speaker 2: see some really really blessed stuff. And I kind of
- 1:27:44Speaker 2: want to see the kind of synergies that people create
- 1:27:46Speaker 2: within two factions, because you can take any two factions
- 1:27:51Speaker 2: and it's kind of like, I know, you know, eighteen heroes.
- 1:27:55Speaker 2: You it's not a lot of combinations, but I feel
- 1:28:00Speaker 2: that the way that you play, those combinations would be
- 1:28:02Speaker 2: really interesting to see.
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I could totally have more versions of Giant Step
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: in my deck.
- 1:28:12Speaker 2: You can only have.
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: Three three years name Yeah.
- 1:28:18Speaker 2: So it's still the same it's still the same thing
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: where you can only have three. But I mean, if
- 1:28:23Speaker 2: you wanted to, you could play two Ismir and one
- 1:28:26Speaker 2: Lyra Small Step if you really wanted to.
- 1:28:29Speaker 3: Yeah. Now I've got a question that WI Have you
- 1:28:32Speaker 3: played the new version of Star Wars?
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, unlimited?
- 1:28:37Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, Star Wars Unlimited. One of the things I
- 1:28:40Speaker 3: like in there that I that I was talking to
- 1:28:42Speaker 3: Corabion in the format that I like is to be
- 1:28:45Speaker 3: able to play out of faction cards at a cost,
- 1:28:47Speaker 3: out a penalty, So I like, I like that, Yeah,
- 1:28:51Speaker 3: out of faction penalty, out of aspect penalty. I think
- 1:28:54Speaker 3: it's caught in ye Star Wars right, yep, because that
- 1:28:57Speaker 3: also brings something else, is that you can bring something else.
- 1:29:01Speaker 3: And and if you think about the way that this card
- 1:29:03Speaker 3: game story or narrative is built, it is every faction,
- 1:29:06Speaker 3: while they're individual, they do work and support each other,
- 1:29:09Speaker 3: which I think is what your narrative is Nick as
- 1:29:12Speaker 3: well in your version of the game. But you know what,
- 1:29:15Speaker 3: let's see, let's see what happens. I don't think you'll
- 1:29:17Speaker 3: ever get rid of uniques. I think unique is the
- 1:29:20Speaker 3: stick for this game.
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: It definitely is. I I love the no unique type deal.
- 1:29:30Speaker 3: Me too.
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: I think makes things busted, and I mean it's fun, right,
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: and the idea of it was great right in theory,
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: it was awesome. I just think that now that it's
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: in the practice. It was like, ooh, and were you
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: were talking about, like you want to see the busted stuff?
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: So I had said that same thing when I had
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: first came up with my Alliance and KeyForge M Yeah,
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: I went horrible, horribly wrong, Like I mean you're talking
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: like when first, So when I first came out with
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: my idea, So how alliance works as you're allowed to
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: kind of pick from each deck, right, and but it
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: all has to be in the same set, I said,
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: the same set whatever, like just find three pis right, Like,
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: don't even worry about set. Some of the busted stuff
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: that has come through is more busted than I thought originally.
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: But I was like, how busted could it be? And
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: that you know, and again give us players enough time.
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: You know, we're talking about we're talking about you know,
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: you think Yazmir has a big hand now, I mean
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: we're seeing it in KeyForge where people are literally playing
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: their whole decks by turn three.
- 1:30:49Speaker 2: Yeah, and see put it this way, maybe and maybe
- 1:30:53Speaker 2: we can even add a stipulation to where you have
- 1:30:55Speaker 2: to add an extra tumult card or something, maybe like
- 1:30:59Speaker 2: an extra two tumults, just to make it more interesting.
- 1:31:01Speaker 2: You know, you have heroes.
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: More interesting is if they were a random yeah random?
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: So like, well, like, but make your adventure path randomized?
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: Because right, yeah, there's there's there's You're on train tracks,
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: right like you you will go here and then here
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: and then here and then here. What if it what
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: if it was more randomized, Like what if all of
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: a sudden, like the next one was just like all
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: water and you're like, oh, they'd be not quite prepared
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: for that, right or you know, whatever the case may be.
- 1:31:37Speaker 2: You know. Yeah, So that's again that's something that we
- 1:31:40Speaker 2: can look into. But I the way that I think
- 1:31:42Speaker 2: of it is so one of the one of the
- 1:31:45Speaker 2: things that I do is I look for what is
- 1:31:48Speaker 2: lacking within a faction and think about, Okay, what can
- 1:31:51Speaker 2: I do to make this a little more interesting. And
- 1:31:54Speaker 2: that's kind of why I thought about the of this format,
- 1:31:57Speaker 2: because I wanted to see what would happen if you
- 1:32:00Speaker 2: gave a faction that was lacking in a certain aspect
- 1:32:03Speaker 2: if you gave it more of that. So like, for example,
- 1:32:10Speaker 2: what happened to if you give a lot more token
- 1:32:12Speaker 2: generation to a fawn.
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: Us Right, No, I get where you're going with it.
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: I want to give anything to a funess. We want
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: to get all the things to Yes, I don't say
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: that to Cole Robbie, he'll lose.
- 1:32:26Speaker 2: Robbie is asleep right now. He already said good night.
- 1:32:29Speaker 2: I can do whatever I want.
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: On the show. He literally sends me memes of like
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: like it'll be like weird stuff. Yeah, but was the
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: one was pushing a Cash off a cliff Like he's like,
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: he's like, you can't play at Casha anymore. I was
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: like why and he's like dead And I was like,
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: what do you mean because it's like she's dead. I
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: was like in the story or what he's like? No,
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: I pushed her off a cliff.
- 1:32:52Speaker 3: Just just on that. And we were talking to some
- 1:32:55Speaker 3: of the other some other plays in some of our interviews,
- 1:32:58Speaker 3: but this was the keylong guy. He basically said, and
- 1:33:04Speaker 3: I'm in favor of this is how do you cycle
- 1:33:07Speaker 3: that heroes? If there's ever a time that new heroes
- 1:33:09Speaker 3: come in and know Cole says, nothing's truly being announced,
- 1:33:12Speaker 3: but they have spoken about it. That says eventually they're
- 1:33:15Speaker 3: going to bring in new heroes. I love the idea
- 1:33:17Speaker 3: of some of the current heroes dying or some way
- 1:33:21Speaker 3: where they're no longer in the expedition. Just cycle them out.
- 1:33:24Speaker 3: They're on an expedition. Not everybody survives. For goodness sakes,
- 1:33:27Speaker 3: let's try to make it a bit more real in that.
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: In that listen, I think Flesh and Blood might have
- 1:33:32Speaker 1: it right.
- 1:33:32Speaker 3: Where like then the eternal format, the where you know, hey,
- 1:33:36Speaker 3: you know the points, Yeah, the points where like, hey,
- 1:33:42Speaker 3: you know this is it's accumulated enough points. They're not
- 1:33:46Speaker 3: like they've retired right there. They're going back to their
- 1:33:49Speaker 3: homeland and they're just going to kind of hang out.
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: You know. Yeah, and a lot now wahus now at home, right,
- 1:33:58Speaker 1: he's all done.
- 1:33:59Speaker 3: You know what, might as well. He's ridiculously awful to use,
- 1:34:04Speaker 3: but that that'd be pretty cool. Now, I know, we've
- 1:34:07Speaker 3: got to close up soon.
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: I'm sure.
- 1:34:09Speaker 3: But there's two tournaments in the US that were announced today,
- 1:34:14Speaker 3: the first one being in Dallas August ninth and tenth.
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: It's always in Dallas, Hunt, I'm so tired of Texas
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: te Dallas. It's always going No, probably.
- 1:34:26Speaker 2: Not, I'd probably go to Dallas if I'm gonna be honest.
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: Yeah, what is that BCG at Common Ground Games? Well
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: there's one beat what was it?
- 1:34:37Speaker 3: Okay, there's a second one in Baltimore on September thirteenth
- 1:34:42Speaker 3: and fourteenth at Games and Stuff.
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: Mm hmmm. Now, which is weird?
- 1:34:49Speaker 3: Is a store that's really supported this game before it started,
- 1:34:52Speaker 3: including where they ran a lot of the learn to plays,
- 1:34:56Speaker 3: So it's cool that they were there. I haven't heard
- 1:34:58Speaker 3: of either of these games stores. I'm like, I haven't
- 1:35:00Speaker 3: really been into and Stuff.
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: From what I hear is amazing. So Games and Stuff
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: is actually where the Vault Tour will be held. Also
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: there last year, and I think, yeah, where is it
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: going to be Baltimore Games and Stuff on July eleventh
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: through the thirteenth. When when was the Games and Stuff
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: going to be?
- 1:35:21Speaker 3: Games and Stuff is September thirteenth and fourteenth.
- 1:35:24Speaker 1: So that's yeah, in glen Burnie, Maryland. Well it's it's
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: technically Maryland, but.
- 1:35:30Speaker 3: Okay, and then then the Dallas One. So if you,
- 1:35:33Speaker 3: I was going to say, if you make it out
- 1:35:34Speaker 3: to the Dallas One, we may all be able to
- 1:35:36Speaker 3: go there together and get a drink.
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:35:38Speaker 3: Absolutely, you know, we've got to find a way of connecting.
- 1:35:41Speaker 3: This is this is the stuff that I like. We
- 1:35:43Speaker 3: all are in different parts of the country and any
- 1:35:46Speaker 3: many cases different parts of the world. The chance to
- 1:35:48Speaker 3: get going to be whether we play or whether we win.
- 1:35:51Speaker 3: I'd rather just make new new mates.
- 1:35:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I'd rather just be there for the for the
- 1:35:55Speaker 2: social aspect. And I will be drinking a Cranberry clypsoda.
- 1:35:59Speaker 2: No know where that is from.
- 1:36:02Speaker 1: Oh yeah, the Wookie is a heavy drinker. I don't know,
- 1:36:06Speaker 1: like I only I'm a cran I only drink when
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: I go out for these type of things.
- 1:36:12Speaker 3: So so you know, we'll make sure you get home
- 1:36:15Speaker 3: all right.
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I know I know where Uber is on my phone.
- 1:36:20Speaker 1: I'll figure it out. I am. I am. I am
- 1:36:23Speaker 1: very very much not. I don't drink and drive, right,
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: I know Uber, I know I know where Uber is
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: on my phone. And you know we I'll get home eventually. Right,
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: it may not be right now, but I'll get home eventually.
- 1:36:37Speaker 3: Yeah, well, we'll make sure you get home regards I'm sure,
- 1:36:41Speaker 3: But let's go maybe in the same place. What do
- 1:36:44Speaker 3: you get if you go?
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: There are some really cool rewards for this stuff. So
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: I love foils, all foils except for magic foils to curl.
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: But so they are going to release the Beyond the
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: Gates Adventure foil pack, So that's pretty awesome. I think
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: we have the foils right now for Trial by Produst right, yep, yep, No.
- 1:37:09Speaker 3: You've got if you were in the top eight for.
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: The Thick Boys, yeah, hey, good on them. They don't
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: curl that way, right, Like that's a big thing. Twenty
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: twenty five World Championship Hero Boosters, which looks like it's
- 1:37:26Speaker 1: the Extended Arts sign. Are they signed? Is that what
- 1:37:30Speaker 1: the deal is?
- 1:37:31Speaker 2: Yeah, they're signed and they've got.
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: The artists so textless got the world. I hope that's
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: in bost on there and not just printed on there.
- 1:37:41Speaker 2: But yeah, I agree. See, this is what I'm saying, like,
- 1:37:44Speaker 2: if if everybody goes and participates, this is probably what
- 1:37:48Speaker 2: this is. Like the promo pack, So everybody gets one
- 1:37:51Speaker 2: of these. That's kind of what I'm hoping.
- 1:37:53Speaker 3: That's what it looks like. This is the boost to
- 1:37:55Speaker 3: Participation prize for everyone, So.
- 1:37:58Speaker 2: I might just go just for that because I kind
- 1:38:00Speaker 2: of want one of these.
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: Let's see, we got the Beyond the Gates Faction Champion
- 1:38:06Speaker 1: exclusive card, which is your factions Champion or as a
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: reward for factions top faction players, which is awesome to
- 1:38:17Speaker 1: see like they're going to reward other factions because you
- 1:38:19Speaker 1: see Axiom here. I think we can all agree that
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: Axiom might not be winning a World Championship as it
- 1:38:25Speaker 1: sits at the current time. I don't know.
- 1:38:28Speaker 2: Man championship broken right now.
- 1:38:32Speaker 1: Brokens are relative term, but each each each competitions will
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: provide foiled Faction favorite cards from the Beyond the Gates
- 1:38:43Speaker 1: featuring the World Championship Qualifiers logo.
- 1:38:46Speaker 2: So again more like the Scout cards for the Tumbles
- 1:38:50Speaker 2: right now.
- 1:38:52Speaker 1: So are cool, and then top eight playmat World Championship Qualifiers.
- 1:39:00Speaker 3: That's what I want.
- 1:39:01Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm really excited to see Hestia though. In Trava
- 1:39:05Speaker 2: and Whispers of a Maze. I'm really excited to see
- 1:39:08Speaker 2: what Hestia does.
- 1:39:10Speaker 1: It's a foiled playmat. It's going to oil, yeah, oil
- 1:39:14Speaker 1: play mats. Uh yeah. I don't know how I feel
- 1:39:17Speaker 1: about this, something that it was a magic Who did
- 1:39:20Speaker 1: foil play mats originally?
- 1:39:22Speaker 2: I don't know, but I think they'd be kind of
- 1:39:24Speaker 2: cool thing like silver on the on the zones.
- 1:39:26Speaker 1: There is their interest. I've seen them. They're interesting. They're
- 1:39:31Speaker 1: not for me, but.
- 1:39:33Speaker 2: I'm I don't think me either.
- 1:39:36Speaker 1: I'm one who pushes boundaries, right, I'm not. I listen
- 1:39:42Speaker 1: all right, let me let me it's.
- 1:39:43Speaker 3: Late night, right, yeah, it's almost midnight for you.
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: Corner after dark altered car we do? I have an
- 1:39:50Speaker 1: archons corner after dark now it's altered.
- 1:39:54Speaker 3: Yeah, we must be provided.
- 1:39:59Speaker 1: I I push rules. Right, have you guys ever seen
- 1:40:06Speaker 1: I'm sorry if I offend anyone out there, but this
- 1:40:09Speaker 1: is this is, this is who I am. Can't change me.
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: I'm thirty seven. You can't teach us, dog no, no,
- 1:40:16Speaker 1: no new tricks will be taught to this Doug. Okay,
- 1:40:20Speaker 1: So we had all gotten a thing, so people made.
- 1:40:23Speaker 1: So we had a big controversy last year at one
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: of the Vault tours. Right, there was some accusations of
- 1:40:28Speaker 1: cheating so on and so forth, things got heated in
- 1:40:33Speaker 1: the ac discord, and for some reason I took a picture.
- 1:40:37Speaker 1: I took a selfie of myself and posted it in there.
- 1:40:41Speaker 1: Many many key Forge players now have sleeves with it.
- 1:40:51Speaker 1: So if you're ever watching it, if you're ever watching
- 1:40:53Speaker 1: a key Forge stream for whatever reason, and you see
- 1:40:58Speaker 1: a picture with someone's face on it, that's say big
- 1:41:02Speaker 1: Dog at the top, that's me. That's that's what I
- 1:41:05Speaker 1: look like.
- 1:41:06Speaker 2: I'm going to watch key Ford streams just for that.
- 1:41:09Speaker 3: Now, well, the first time we meet, though, we're going
- 1:41:13Speaker 3: to have to teach us both the game I want.
- 1:41:16Speaker 3: I want you to bring a dick. Teach us the game.
- 1:41:18Speaker 2: I'll teach you Final Fantasy. You teach me key Ford.
- 1:41:21Speaker 1: There you go. But for so now, we've just so
- 1:41:25Speaker 1: that's become like the thing now in key Fords. Right,
- 1:41:28Speaker 1: the custom sleeves and I Ghost Galaxy don't get along.
- 1:41:36Speaker 1: So I created a card for my archives and car
- 1:41:42Speaker 1: Actually it was created by big Z, but I made
- 1:41:47Speaker 1: it into a card right for my archives, and it
- 1:41:49Speaker 1: says sucks. And that's what I used to put on
- 1:41:54Speaker 1: top of my archives to designate where they are. Now.
- 1:41:58Speaker 1: Imagine the Wookie made the final two at gen Con,
- 1:42:04Speaker 1: which is being streamed. They were not thrilled about my art,
- 1:42:08Speaker 1: about my nice they were not thrilled about my uh
- 1:42:11Speaker 1: my archive cards, saying gg sucks. Did you did you
- 1:42:16Speaker 1: have to change it? They made me flip it, They
- 1:42:18Speaker 1: made me flip it around. And also the kind of
- 1:42:23Speaker 1: the spot where I keep my ember keeping track of
- 1:42:26Speaker 1: that is not a is not a KeyForge card. It
- 1:42:30Speaker 1: is a Chewbacca card from Star Wars.
- 1:42:33Speaker 3: Something that's awesome.
- 1:42:36Speaker 1: And so now this year I'm like, I wonder how
- 1:42:38Speaker 1: far I could push this before they're just like, please leave,
- 1:42:41Speaker 1: get a custom play mat. No. So there I was
- 1:42:45Speaker 1: perusing around Reddit because I actually created cards to give
- 1:42:49Speaker 1: away this year to people, because GGI refuses to do
- 1:42:53Speaker 1: like full arts or anything fun. So I said, well
- 1:42:57Speaker 1: if you won't, I will. I know how to use photoshop.
- 1:43:00Speaker 1: So on one of my favorite cards, I created a
- 1:43:03Speaker 1: full art version of it, sent it off to MPC Gaming,
- 1:43:07Speaker 1: had them create foil versions of this card that I
- 1:43:09Speaker 1: can hand out to people. They say Roosevelt twenty twenty
- 1:43:13Speaker 1: five vault to are like just to be like, hey,
- 1:43:14Speaker 1: thanks for coming right that I can hand out to them.
- 1:43:18Speaker 1: Now they have this and they can swap it out
- 1:43:20Speaker 1: for you know, it's a pretty a card that a
- 1:43:22Speaker 1: lot of decks use, right so and just you know,
- 1:43:25Speaker 1: hand it out to them. Thanks for coming, you know,
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: new people whatever. It's something that they can happen. Oh cool,
- 1:43:30Speaker 1: you know. But in my adventure to do this, I
- 1:43:38Speaker 1: stumbled across some yu gi oh cards that say free
- 1:43:41Speaker 1: boob picks and it has some anime girl like you
- 1:43:46Speaker 1: know it's it's it's risk but not pushing a line, right,
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: So I was like.
- 1:43:52Speaker 3: That has that that's the risk? Is one of these?
- 1:43:54Speaker 2: There's a lot.
- 1:43:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I know which one you're talking about. I don't
- 1:43:58Speaker 1: know the name of it, like it's got all.
- 1:44:00Speaker 2: The animal There's recent one that came out, yeah v card.
- 1:44:06Speaker 2: Is it really called card called of course? Oh if
- 1:44:11Speaker 2: it's Japanese. No, there's one that recently just came out
- 1:44:14Speaker 2: that's a bunch of you tubers. Oh jeez.
- 1:44:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:44:17Speaker 2: But the only reason why I know that is because
- 1:44:19Speaker 2: I watch a guy who does magic openings and I
- 1:44:24Speaker 2: believe it's his partner was the creative art director behind it.
- 1:44:29Speaker 2: That's the only reason why I know about it.
- 1:44:33Speaker 1: But there's also a game out there that has like
- 1:44:36Speaker 1: all the weaf Wavefoo girls like, and that's like they're
- 1:44:39Speaker 1: there's I don't know, it's it's literally a card game
- 1:44:43Speaker 1: and it's just like it's that's all it is, right,
- 1:44:45Speaker 1: Like then they're not like they're not like big animately,
- 1:44:48Speaker 1: like they're not tied to a TV show or anything.
- 1:44:51Speaker 1: It's just the the way Foo girls right right, anyways,
- 1:44:54Speaker 1: that's that's what this card has on it. So I
- 1:44:56Speaker 1: created sleeves.
- 1:45:00Speaker 3: You'd be allowed if they're going on stream though, right,
- 1:45:02Speaker 3: And I get on stream often, so I'm like, I
- 1:45:07Speaker 3: wonder how far I can push us.
- 1:45:10Speaker 1: I also created a play Matt that is equally risk
- 1:45:15Speaker 1: that is that's the same thing.
- 1:45:18Speaker 2: So on the topic of Yugo, though, you'd be interested
- 1:45:21Speaker 2: to know that they just finished I believe they just
- 1:45:25Speaker 2: finished their seventh spinoff from the original.
- 1:45:31Speaker 1: Yeah that sounds about.
- 1:45:32Speaker 2: Right, Yukyo Go Rush, which just ended in Japan March thirtieth. Okay,
- 1:45:41Speaker 2: like this yere mm hmm, so like one hundred and
- 1:45:45Speaker 2: fifty one episodes a.
- 1:45:46Speaker 1: Month and change ago. Okay, yeah, so that'll be in America, Shirley,
- 1:45:52Speaker 1: but yeah, wow, yeah, I think currently right now it's
- 1:45:56Speaker 1: running on Disney X d which is still around.
- 1:45:59Speaker 3: Interestingly enough, that's just that's on that's regular cable, right, yeah.
- 1:46:03Speaker 1: That's cable. I bet it's on Disney Plus two.
- 1:46:10Speaker 2: Like Japan. I don't think it's in the US.
- 1:46:12Speaker 1: Disney Plus is crazy right now. I don't know if
- 1:46:14Speaker 1: you've looked on Disney Plus lately, right, because now they
- 1:46:17Speaker 1: own and so I mean literally what popped up on
- 1:46:22Speaker 1: my Disney Plus Ghost Adventures. I enjoy ghost shows, and
- 1:46:30Speaker 1: like Ghost Adventures used to be my jam, Like I
- 1:46:32Speaker 1: used to watch it all the time, and it was
- 1:46:36Speaker 1: literally I'm like, why is this on my Disney Plus?
- 1:46:38Speaker 1: And then I found out obviously that they bought Hulu,
- 1:46:40Speaker 1: so now they basically own it, right, so like it's
- 1:46:44Speaker 1: all over. So I was kind of surprised. I was
- 1:46:48Speaker 1: kind of surprised to find that out.
- 1:46:50Speaker 3: I actually think talk about something else. They'll they're going
- 1:46:54Speaker 3: to get rid of Hulu and just bring it his pot.
- 1:46:56Speaker 1: It's just all Disney Plus.
- 1:46:58Speaker 3: Yeah, there's no point and the same thing with the
- 1:47:00Speaker 3: ESPN Plus. We'll just go into Disney Plus. Right, they
- 1:47:02Speaker 3: own all three companies, so yeah, white have three streaming
- 1:47:05Speaker 3: platforms when you can do it on in one money
- 1:47:08Speaker 3: money but yeah, you can pay. You might as well
- 1:47:12Speaker 3: make people pay more on the one single platform.
- 1:47:16Speaker 1: Or you can give people the illusion of choice and
- 1:47:20Speaker 1: let them buy. Oh my gosh, I'm not gonna I'm
- 1:47:23Speaker 1: not gonna watch I don't like sports. Why would I
- 1:47:26Speaker 1: want this on my Disney or you know or whatever.
- 1:47:29Speaker 3: Then white label it make them look exactly the same
- 1:47:31Speaker 3: with a different brand at the top.
- 1:47:33Speaker 2: White label, you'll both be interested to Now. I just
- 1:47:35Speaker 2: looked on Hulu yu gi oh yugy O g X,
- 1:47:38Speaker 2: yu gi Oh seven's yu gi Oh five d's yu
- 1:47:41Speaker 2: gi O Brains v Rains I don't know, Yugyo rc V,
- 1:47:45Speaker 2: and then yugyog Rush, which is now available with live TV.
- 1:47:50Speaker 1: There you go go.
- 1:47:50Speaker 3: I was trying to get I was trying to get
- 1:47:52Speaker 3: my little girls to start watching Pokemon just so I
- 1:47:54Speaker 3: could go back and watch some of the old Pokemon videos,
- 1:47:57Speaker 3: but propertly stopped by the Wi Fi saying that's not
- 1:48:01Speaker 3: really for them.
- 1:48:02Speaker 2: So like you're doing it for you, no, for disagree,
- 1:48:05Speaker 2: hard disagree, hard disagree.
- 1:48:07Speaker 1: My daughter got really big into my hero Academia. Yeah,
- 1:48:11Speaker 1: and I was like, and so I started watching it, right,
- 1:48:14Speaker 1: I was like, I'll watch it, I'll see what it
- 1:48:16Speaker 1: is and I'm watching it. I was like, this is
- 1:48:17Speaker 1: just a fucking dragon ball Z ripoff. And she's literally
- 1:48:26Speaker 1: like uh uh. I was like, you're watched dragon ball Z, which,
- 1:48:30Speaker 1: fun fact, I have played almost all the dragon ball
- 1:48:32Speaker 1: Z TCGs because I'm a huge GBZ fan.
- 1:48:36Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, that's so funny to hear somebody say
- 1:48:39Speaker 2: that out loud.
- 1:48:40Speaker 1: What's that that I'm a big DBZ fan?
- 1:48:42Speaker 2: Oh no, then my hero Academia is just the DBZ ripoff.
- 1:48:45Speaker 1: Oh yeah. I was like, this is just dragon ball
- 1:48:47Speaker 1: Z but like their kids and that's weird. And she's like, oh,
- 1:48:52Speaker 1: She's like dragon ball Z is so stupid. They just
- 1:48:54Speaker 1: power up for like seven episodes. I was like, yeah,
- 1:48:57Speaker 1: same thing. It didn't change. They just changed the characters
- 1:49:03Speaker 1: and made them teenagers. That's all it is.
- 1:49:06Speaker 2: That's really funny. Oh my gosh. My wife and I
- 1:49:09Speaker 2: recently started watching the Pokemon movies.
- 1:49:12Speaker 1: Okay, which was one's your favorite.
- 1:49:16Speaker 2: Genuinely heroes?
- 1:49:18Speaker 1: Really?
- 1:49:19Speaker 2: I love Pokemon heroes that in Destiny de Oxus, those
- 1:49:22Speaker 2: two are probably my top two.
- 1:49:24Speaker 3: Do you want to what do you think of the
- 1:49:25Speaker 3: live action style one?
- 1:49:27Speaker 1: I was gonna say, you wan don't know what my
- 1:49:28Speaker 1: favorite Detective Pikachu. And let's say you want to know
- 1:49:30Speaker 1: my favorite Pokemon movie is, which one was Detective Pikachu.
- 1:49:34Speaker 2: Dude, my wife loves Detective Pikachu. It's fantastic because to
- 1:49:39Speaker 2: be fair, she just got into Pokemon last year, like
- 1:49:44Speaker 2: January of last year, so she had no filter. She
- 1:49:47Speaker 2: had like no lens of like rose colored glasses like
- 1:49:50Speaker 2: I did because I grew up with the originals. She's
- 1:49:53Speaker 2: like and and don't get me wrong, I love Detective Pikachu,
- 1:49:55Speaker 2: but she was like, that was such a good fun
- 1:49:58Speaker 2: thing that they did, so I agree.
- 1:50:02Speaker 1: I gotta ask because I'm I'm old man Barket Clouds
- 1:50:06Speaker 1: on our show, right, Like, okay, I think I'm the oldest.
- 1:50:10Speaker 1: Call might be close to me at age?
- 1:50:13Speaker 3: No, he's young, is he?
- 1:50:15Speaker 2: Baby? Boy?
- 1:50:16Speaker 1: Is your baby?
- 1:50:17Speaker 2: He's my age?
- 1:50:19Speaker 1: Well? How old are you?
- 1:50:21Speaker 2: Thirty?
- 1:50:21Speaker 1: If you don't mind me at thirty? Okay, yeah you're still.
- 1:50:24Speaker 3: And since you didn't hospital say I'm forty four, man,
- 1:50:27Speaker 3: I was gonna I was coming for you next.
- 1:50:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:50:30Speaker 1: Yeah, don't feel like I was. We were working around
- 1:50:36Speaker 1: to it, like you know, I just you know, some
- 1:50:39Speaker 1: people are a little sensitive about three age thirty seven,
- 1:50:42Speaker 1: I remember things, right I I yeah, same man.
- 1:50:47Speaker 3: Just you know, you know what, it's been really interesting
- 1:50:50Speaker 3: in this chat. Whoopie is you have got a fantastic memory.
- 1:50:55Speaker 3: It's like, you know, like you remember he is you
- 1:51:00Speaker 3: remember names? Fantastic man. Hats off to you for that.
- 1:51:03Speaker 3: That's perfect in what you're doing with the podcasting.
- 1:51:06Speaker 1: One day though.
- 1:51:08Speaker 2: That's true though, nice traight deflection, Chili Wokie. What was
- 1:51:12Speaker 2: your question? I need to know now.
- 1:51:14Speaker 1: I think it was just your age.
- 1:51:17Speaker 2: Oh oh okay, I was just we were talking about Pokemon,
- 1:51:20Speaker 2: Pokemon Detective Pigasue.
- 1:51:22Speaker 1: My long term memory is good, my short term not
- 1:51:26Speaker 1: as as not as hot. Yeah.
- 1:51:31Speaker 3: So I'll tell you something that happened to me today
- 1:51:32Speaker 3: talking about bad memory. So I, as I said to
- 1:51:37Speaker 3: you in the chat, unfortunately, my youngest girl, who's just
- 1:51:40Speaker 3: under eighteen months, got pretty sick last night and I
- 1:51:43Speaker 3: had to take her to the hospital today and basically
- 1:51:45Speaker 3: I was there with her for five hours. It's the
- 1:51:47Speaker 3: worst feeling in the world being a dad and not
- 1:51:50Speaker 3: actually anyone that you have that's a loved one, going
- 1:51:52Speaker 3: to hospital knowing you can't do a thing trying to
- 1:51:55Speaker 3: figure out what's wrong with her. She had a fever,
- 1:51:57Speaker 3: she was throwing up. She also when she's breathing, her
- 1:52:02Speaker 3: breathing was shallow and very quick for about five six hours,
- 1:52:07Speaker 3: so we didn't know what is going on. Thankfully, they
- 1:52:09Speaker 3: believe she's got some levels of asthma alongside some respiratory
- 1:52:16Speaker 3: virus that's hit her. But they've given her some asthma
- 1:52:19Speaker 3: path equivalent things to help her out, so we're good
- 1:52:21Speaker 3: on that side. But they asked me for her date
- 1:52:24Speaker 3: of birth and I was adamant of the date of
- 1:52:27Speaker 3: birth being the seventeenth of November. Then they go and
- 1:52:31Speaker 3: put all the insurance stuff through and they're like, it's
- 1:52:33Speaker 3: not working. And then I realized it five hours into
- 1:52:36Speaker 3: the whole thing. Every document is wrong because it's actually
- 1:52:39Speaker 3: the fourteenth of November. I felt so sheepish. I'm like
- 1:52:43Speaker 3: document stuff. They're like, Uh, this is going to take
- 1:52:46Speaker 3: us a few hours to fix. We'll call you if
- 1:52:48Speaker 3: there's any issues. Can we get some like I feel?
- 1:52:50Speaker 2: So?
- 1:52:50Speaker 3: I felt awful and they were incredible that the hospital
- 1:52:54Speaker 3: Primary Children's Children's Hospital, Leehi, thank you so much for
- 1:52:57Speaker 3: looking after I found you.
- 1:52:58Speaker 1: Do you just have the one child.
- 1:53:00Speaker 3: We got three three a six year old, a four
- 1:53:03Speaker 3: year old, and a one and a half, all three girls.
- 1:53:06Speaker 3: So I have three children as well. I have a
- 1:53:09Speaker 3: six I have commenerations. Is the best and the worst things, right, Well.
- 1:53:13Speaker 1: I'll tell you what. Three girls? How old?
- 1:53:16Speaker 3: Six? Four and one and a half.
- 1:53:18Speaker 1: Oh boy, you haven't even begun. And I hate to
- 1:53:23Speaker 1: tell you one. So my oldest is my son, he
- 1:53:27Speaker 1: is sixteen. And then right below that is my middle child.
- 1:53:32Speaker 1: That's that's as I call her Darth Fifi Sophia, she
- 1:53:40Speaker 1: is fourteen. And then I have a seven year old. Oh,
- 1:53:43Speaker 1: that's a big difference. There was a big jump, so
- 1:53:46Speaker 1: as we call it, it was the seven year debate, right,
- 1:53:50Speaker 1: So when I wanted children, more children my wife than not.
- 1:53:54Speaker 1: And when my wife wanted more children, I did not,
- 1:53:57Speaker 1: And it took seven years for us for the stars
- 1:54:00Speaker 1: to align once again. And then and then we had Live. Right,
- 1:54:05Speaker 1: And you can actually believe this or not weird story.
- 1:54:08Speaker 1: So when Live, when my wife was pregnant with Live,
- 1:54:11Speaker 1: that's when I was doing wrestling. So if you go back,
- 1:54:16Speaker 1: if you could find it, if you go back on
- 1:54:19Speaker 1: the Arkans Corner YouTube page, if you poke around enough,
- 1:54:23Speaker 1: you will find video. I was live. I was doing
- 1:54:28Speaker 1: Now everyone does it, but at the time, nobody was
- 1:54:30Speaker 1: really doing it. We were doing the live reactions to
- 1:54:34Speaker 1: what was going on Monday Night Raw. At that time,
- 1:54:37Speaker 1: SmackDown was on Tuesdays. I was doing the pay per
- 1:54:40Speaker 1: views and all this stuff, and literally, like my wife
- 1:54:43Speaker 1: was pregnant, we had live and then like you can
- 1:54:46Speaker 1: kind of watch like her first six months. It's a
- 1:54:50Speaker 1: really cool thing to Like. I was poking around the
- 1:54:54Speaker 1: other day and I was like, oh man, and then
- 1:54:56Speaker 1: like all of a sudden, I was like, oh, this
- 1:54:58Speaker 1: is an oldie.
- 1:54:59Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:54:59Speaker 1: I'm looking at my self because I'm like, man, I
- 1:55:02Speaker 1: got my old like you know, I've aged like cheese,
- 1:55:07Speaker 1: you know.
- 1:55:07Speaker 3: And uh yeah, you've aged like cheese.
- 1:55:11Speaker 1: Yeah. And then all of a sudden, you know, here
- 1:55:13Speaker 1: comes baby Livy and I was like, oh my god, like,
- 1:55:16Speaker 1: you know, I look at her now and I'm like, geez, yeah,
- 1:55:21Speaker 1: I don't.
- 1:55:22Speaker 2: I wouldn't say that in front of her though.
- 1:55:24Speaker 1: What's that that I aged?
- 1:55:26Speaker 2: Like you look at her and geez man, I mean.
- 1:55:29Speaker 1: It's just it's it's so busy because you remember those right,
- 1:55:32Speaker 1: like you remember when she was that little, and you know,
- 1:55:35Speaker 1: it's like, oh, you know, I just you know, the
- 1:55:40Speaker 1: world was such a different place than you know. And
- 1:55:43Speaker 1: just now she's seven and you know, she's in second
- 1:55:47Speaker 1: grade and it's just like oh man, you know, and
- 1:55:50Speaker 1: yeah everyone again and stuff will come up across my Google. Right,
- 1:55:54Speaker 1: we have a Google. We have Google homes in every house.
- 1:55:57Speaker 1: And my wife's uh photographer, so she takes tons of pictures,
- 1:56:01Speaker 1: you know, and like the the other the two older
- 1:56:04Speaker 1: ones that are now sixteen and fourteen, like they're like
- 1:56:07Speaker 1: it's I was like, oh that was fourth of July,
- 1:56:09Speaker 1: and like one was six and one was four, you know,
- 1:56:12Speaker 1: and it's like, oh you just feel real old, real quick.
- 1:56:15Speaker 2: Yeah. No, I will say we have no loose ends
- 1:56:17Speaker 2: now because the the wrestling podcast that I was talking
- 1:56:23Speaker 2: about earlier, I found it. It was called Wrestling Mad,
- 1:56:25Speaker 2: Wrestling Randomness.
- 1:56:28Speaker 1: I mean wrestling with random No.
- 1:56:31Speaker 2: No, no, it was it was literally called wrestling randomness. Okay,
- 1:56:34Speaker 2: that's what That's what my buddy had it, or I
- 1:56:36Speaker 2: call him my buddy. I met him once.
- 1:56:39Speaker 3: Silamite the way everyone's a mate.
- 1:56:43Speaker 2: So yeah, it was called wrestling randomness. Okay, I don't
- 1:56:47Speaker 2: know if it's still around, but if I can find it,
- 1:56:49Speaker 2: I will find a link and send it to you.
- 1:56:51Speaker 3: So I'm going to google it right now now I've
- 1:56:54Speaker 3: spoken to Nicol. This one of the reasons I got
- 1:56:57Speaker 3: I wanted to do these podcasts. Like I've never done
- 1:57:00Speaker 3: any podcasting. I'm not digitally inclined like many people, and
- 1:57:03Speaker 3: I'll say Nick is fairly digitally inclined. He helps me
- 1:57:06Speaker 3: a ton is more as a way of recording something
- 1:57:11Speaker 3: that I love for my kids into the future, Okay,
- 1:57:15Speaker 3: so that they will have a record of my voice
- 1:57:17Speaker 3: doing something that maybe they didn't get to see me
- 1:57:19Speaker 3: do on the day to day interactions with them. Nick
- 1:57:24Speaker 3: and I i'd putting together as part of a Hero's
- 1:57:27Speaker 3: Guide to as Gartha All the Law, and we're doing
- 1:57:30Speaker 3: the English narration of All the Law with the cards
- 1:57:33Speaker 3: onto YouTube. We're doing it as part of our podcast
- 1:57:35Speaker 3: but also onto YouTube. It's a slow process, but that's
- 1:57:38Speaker 3: going to be my kind of One of the things
- 1:57:40Speaker 3: I want to leave as a farewell to the girls
- 1:57:43Speaker 3: as they get older or even when they have kids,
- 1:57:45Speaker 3: is they can go back and hear Granddad or hear dad, right.
- 1:57:50Speaker 3: So that's the cool thing with all the digital imprint
- 1:57:53Speaker 3: we can leave behind that I guess our parents didn't have.
- 1:57:56Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a nice little way to tie a bow
- 1:58:00Speaker 1: on everything here. We are coming to that two hours
- 1:58:03Speaker 1: has a lot of fun.
- 1:58:04Speaker 3: To and are awful at time management. You're twenty minutes
- 1:58:09Speaker 3: and it's forty minutes to an hour every time.
- 1:58:12Speaker 1: So okay, so I'll tell one last story, right, We're
- 1:58:16Speaker 1: gonna be hour because I gave you kind of the
- 1:58:22Speaker 1: reasons why I'm here now doing altered right, but like,
- 1:58:27Speaker 1: what what's the reason to stick around? Like Z's gone whatnot?
- 1:58:30Speaker 1: And you know, it's it's when you believe it.
- 1:58:32Speaker 3: That was my last question.
- 1:58:33Speaker 1: I had it on here to ask you that what's that?
- 1:58:35Speaker 1: Why am I still around?
- 1:58:36Speaker 3: The question?
- 1:58:37Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, it's it's when you believe in something, right.
- 1:58:42Speaker 1: For very long, I've played a lot of card games, right,
- 1:58:45Speaker 1: I've mentioned tons here tonight. I mentioned when we when
- 1:58:49Speaker 1: I first met Felix, him and I named off a
- 1:58:51Speaker 1: bunch I've played. So I don't know of many CCGs
- 1:58:57Speaker 1: that I haven't played. So CCGs is always have always
- 1:59:01Speaker 1: been my thing, and when it's been kind of like
- 1:59:07Speaker 1: this journey through all of them because you kind of
- 1:59:10Speaker 1: see the same thing happen, right, It's kind of like
- 1:59:13Speaker 1: the slow entry to barrier to entry, and then it
- 1:59:16Speaker 1: kind of starts to spiral and then all of a
- 1:59:17Speaker 1: sudden it becomes crazy expensive, you know, and then they
- 1:59:22Speaker 1: kind of all fall apart at that point where it's
- 1:59:25Speaker 1: like this one kind of has taken a different approach
- 1:59:28Speaker 1: where they want to make the barrier to entry very low,
- 1:59:33Speaker 1: which I think is fantastic because it can get more
- 1:59:36Speaker 1: people involved. I grew up extraordinarily poor, right, so like
- 1:59:41Speaker 1: gaming was always a struggle for me because gaming, you know,
- 1:59:44Speaker 1: it's luxury cardboard, right, Like, it's very expensive. So I've
- 1:59:49Speaker 1: always been on that search for a game that that
- 1:59:59Speaker 1: players skill added more than pocket skill, right, And that's
- 2:00:03Speaker 1: that pocket skill being like you can't just buy your
- 2:00:05Speaker 1: way into being good, because I feel like that's where
- 2:00:10Speaker 1: a lot of card games are today, where it's like
- 2:00:13Speaker 1: literally like, if you have the money, you can be
- 2:00:16Speaker 1: good at whatever you want because we'll we'll sell it
- 2:00:20Speaker 1: to you. And that's that's what I've been looking for.
- 2:00:23Speaker 1: KeyForge has kind of turned into that where like, yeah,
- 2:00:27Speaker 1: if you got you can buy a really good deck
- 2:00:31Speaker 1: and probably do very well with it. I mean, I've
- 2:00:34Speaker 1: talked about Doctor Sheep a few times here. He bought
- 2:00:37Speaker 1: a very famous deck called Pink Fraud, spent thirty six
- 2:00:42Speaker 1: on it. Wo that's the deck I qualified for Worlds
- 2:00:47Speaker 1: with because he let me borrow it because he was
- 2:00:49Speaker 1: already qualified. He's like, yep, go ahead. So that's like
- 2:00:55Speaker 1: been like my lifelong goal because I've I've always loved
- 2:00:59Speaker 1: gaming and card game and that's been like my search.
- 2:01:03Speaker 1: And when you find something like that, right, it's it's
- 2:01:06Speaker 1: you're like, Okay, I want to advocate for more people
- 2:01:10Speaker 1: to do this because it's it's a tough thing to
- 2:01:13Speaker 1: do in a tough market because companies need money to operate,
- 2:01:21Speaker 1: so they have to do something to make you want
- 2:01:23Speaker 1: to buy more. And this is a game that's like
- 2:01:26Speaker 1: we don't necessarily want you to buy more, but we do.
- 2:01:30Speaker 1: Does that make sense?
- 2:01:31Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 2:01:32Speaker 3: Yeah, And and I guess there's there's always that balance.
- 2:01:35Speaker 3: And Nick and I have talked it a little bit
- 2:01:36Speaker 3: on our on our cast as well, is you have
- 2:01:40Speaker 3: to have the investor as well as the player base
- 2:01:43Speaker 3: right to be able to to make a game stay
- 2:01:48Speaker 3: relevant and succeed in the marketplace your players want. In
- 2:01:53Speaker 3: most cases, how can you make it as cheap as
- 2:01:55Speaker 3: possible for them to play, but have enough chase cards
- 2:01:59Speaker 3: that people are willing to buy the boxes get rid
- 2:02:02Speaker 3: of the chaff kind of stuff. And I don't think
- 2:02:06Speaker 3: Altered has got that right quite just yet. There's no
- 2:02:10Speaker 3: real chase there's no real chase card that I would
- 2:02:13Speaker 3: say a collector would want unless you want to foil
- 2:02:16Speaker 3: out every every unique, have a unique of each one
- 2:02:18Speaker 3: and foil it out. But I think they will get
- 2:02:20Speaker 3: there eventually. It's just a natural progression of a Boxers
- 2:02:25Speaker 3: composition or a Cases composition. But they are starting, as
- 2:02:31Speaker 3: you said, with a very different lens on how do
- 2:02:34Speaker 3: we make this accessible to as many people as possible,
- 2:02:37Speaker 3: both from the digital sphere as well as from the
- 2:02:39Speaker 3: physical cardboard.
- 2:02:42Speaker 1: So that's something that I really like. It drew me
- 2:02:45Speaker 1: in and I'm still here even though again I don't
- 2:02:52Speaker 1: I don't get to play a ton. I still enjoy playing,
- 2:02:54Speaker 1: but I don't get to play a ton And yeah,
- 2:02:57Speaker 1: I fully agree with like everything you said. It's it's
- 2:03:01Speaker 1: hopefully they figure it out and don't just try to
- 2:03:04Speaker 1: check the easy way out and be like, we need money,
- 2:03:06Speaker 1: what do we do. Let's make broken stuff, and they've
- 2:03:10Speaker 1: they've been ahead of the game on like making sure
- 2:03:15Speaker 1: that that the super uber broken stuff kind of gets
- 2:03:17Speaker 1: taken care of. And in a game where like it's
- 2:03:21Speaker 1: I don't want to say random, but you know, it's
- 2:03:23Speaker 1: it is a computer driven algorithm, sometimes the computer does
- 2:03:29Speaker 1: what the computer wants, you know, and it makes broken stuff.
- 2:03:34Speaker 1: So they've done a good job of getting in front
- 2:03:36Speaker 1: of that and being like, hey, this is gonna be
- 2:03:38Speaker 1: a problem, we should take care of that. I got
- 2:03:41Speaker 1: into Flesh and Blood and immediately was turned off by
- 2:03:44Speaker 1: all of the high priced staples. That immediately turned me.
- 2:03:52Speaker 3: Out of Blood.
- 2:03:54Speaker 1: But I completely see that it's it is a great
- 2:03:57Speaker 1: idea for a card game. I just think they and
- 2:04:01Speaker 1: obviously they're doing well, but I feel like they've failed
- 2:04:04Speaker 1: an execution or maybe this is what they wanted. I
- 2:04:07Speaker 1: don't know, maybe maybe this was that's interesting.
- 2:04:10Speaker 3: Yeah, So James White, who's the owner and CEO creator
- 2:04:14Speaker 3: of Flesh and Blood, is really spoken about how do
- 2:04:17Speaker 3: I make some of these staples cheaper and he's trying
- 2:04:20Speaker 3: to by reprinting a lot of them. But the problem
- 2:04:23Speaker 3: is that game is growing so quickly that the demand
- 2:04:27Speaker 3: for the new new packs and new boxes outweighs the
- 2:04:30Speaker 3: supply and it has been so for the last six
- 2:04:32Speaker 3: months they release, so there's more people wanting the games.
- 2:04:37Speaker 2: Now.
- 2:04:37Speaker 3: One thing they've done, because of the eternal nature, they've
- 2:04:40Speaker 3: they've they've added what they call history packs, which every
- 2:04:44Speaker 3: after every three sets because they have a limited run,
- 2:04:46Speaker 3: or they used to do a limited run and then
- 2:04:48Speaker 3: an unlimited run, and that unlimited run then ends, and
- 2:04:51Speaker 3: then once they have three of those unlimited they create
- 2:04:54Speaker 3: the History Pack, which is all the staples from those
- 2:04:58Speaker 3: those first three sets and then the the next three
- 2:05:00Speaker 3: sets coming out as well. But there is they I
- 2:05:04Speaker 3: don't think they anticipated the amount of people. But the
- 2:05:08Speaker 3: chase for them are can you get first editions? But
- 2:05:12Speaker 3: most people are foiling out, Like if you get they've
- 2:05:14Speaker 3: got one, you can get foil cards of your deck,
- 2:05:16Speaker 3: just like I think you do another cards. But you know,
- 2:05:19Speaker 3: for my deck, if I was to buy it outright
- 2:05:24Speaker 3: right now when it was competitive, and I'm going back
- 2:05:26Speaker 3: three to four months, it was two thousand dollars basically
- 2:05:29Speaker 3: fifteen hundred to two thousand dollars for my deck, and
- 2:05:32Speaker 3: that's for one hero. Now you can look at it
- 2:05:35Speaker 3: on the other side that, the ones, the cards that
- 2:05:36Speaker 3: cost the most are what they call generic, which means
- 2:05:38Speaker 3: they can be used in any hero's deck. So similar
- 2:05:41Speaker 3: to us with factions in Altered they have it based
- 2:05:43Speaker 3: on heroes. But the ones that say generic can be
- 2:05:45Speaker 3: used by all. Those are the ones that cost you
- 2:05:47Speaker 3: one hundred up to two hundred bucks a card, and
- 2:05:50Speaker 3: that's for the base version of it. If you get
- 2:05:52Speaker 3: the foil one, then it's more expensive. If you get
- 2:05:54Speaker 3: the cold foil one, it's even more expensive than that
- 2:05:56Speaker 3: for the legendary cards, so it's not accessible to many people.
- 2:06:02Speaker 3: And I don't know what you can do this. That's
- 2:06:04Speaker 3: why it's it's fantastic that this is starting from that
- 2:06:06Speaker 3: low and I like I think Nick you had said.
- 2:06:09Speaker 3: With with Pokemon, what they've done is if a card
- 2:06:13Speaker 3: becomes a really good chase card, they make a cheap
- 2:06:16Speaker 3: version of it in a new back, in a new pack.
- 2:06:19Speaker 3: I think Nickel you.
- 2:06:21Speaker 1: Have said that because I.
- 2:06:23Speaker 3: Know Nick and I have talked about it before as well.
- 2:06:24Speaker 3: But what I love that because it means the price
- 2:06:27Speaker 3: of entry for those cards that are that are going
- 2:06:29Speaker 3: to be playable is not difficult, especially with with Pokemon,
- 2:06:33Speaker 3: which feels like it's more marketed towards the younger market
- 2:06:36Speaker 3: as well as the teenagers into your twenties, right, but
- 2:06:40Speaker 3: I know people that are old to play that as well.
- 2:06:42Speaker 3: But I like, say, lorcl expensive, you don't have you
- 2:06:50Speaker 3: don't have cheap versions of Yeah.
- 2:06:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I was telling somebody about this. I mean, and
- 2:06:55Speaker 2: you know, tournament prizes are always going to go for
- 2:06:58Speaker 2: a premium, right, sure. Apparently there was a guy who
- 2:07:01Speaker 2: was selling the very first I don't know if it
- 2:07:04Speaker 2: was like World's Tournament, but there was a prize card
- 2:07:07Speaker 2: that he was selling for. I think he said he
- 2:07:10Speaker 2: was selling it for fifteen grand and it's sold for that.
- 2:07:13Speaker 3: Yeah, a prize, So it was it was just like
- 2:07:17Speaker 3: for participating or getting it off the prize world.
- 2:07:19Speaker 2: No, No, it was like it was like it was the prize,
- 2:07:21Speaker 2: like the prize for this tournament, like the.
- 2:07:24Speaker 3: Championship winning prize.
- 2:07:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:07:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know. I hope this stays cheap. I
- 2:07:31Speaker 3: hope the game dynamics so far have been entertaining. I love,
- 2:07:37Speaker 3: I loved the nostalgia of the board game feel. So
- 2:07:43Speaker 3: he's hoping it stays. And from the other thing that
- 2:07:45Speaker 3: that that we want to do. Look is we want
- 2:07:48Speaker 3: to get involved if if Equinox would have us to
- 2:07:52Speaker 3: help with the ability of narrating or helping with the
- 2:07:56Speaker 3: narration of the law in English.
- 2:07:58Speaker 1: Okay, so that that.
- 2:08:01Speaker 3: Brings us joy in reading through these So.
- 2:08:04Speaker 1: You and I, well, we're going to tie a bow
- 2:08:06Speaker 1: on this because we are hitting the two hour a
- 2:08:08Speaker 1: little over two hours. We can we can discuss that here.
- 2:08:11Speaker 1: We can keep you well, well, well we won't keep
- 2:08:13Speaker 1: going on recording, but we can keep going. I can
- 2:08:16Speaker 1: give you some tips and tricks and some helpful ideas
- 2:08:21Speaker 1: that I've I've seen and I've I've done in the past.
- 2:08:23Speaker 1: But UH love it. I want to thank you guys
- 2:08:26Speaker 1: so much for coming on and filling in for all
- 2:08:28Speaker 1: my lazy co hosts. Yeah, thank you, crazy co hosts.
- 2:08:31Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 2:08:32Speaker 2: What a bunch of bums.
- 2:08:33Speaker 1: All of them are at Pat Cole's in bed. What
- 2:08:37Speaker 1: a loser. All those guys will be back hopefully next week.
- 2:08:43Speaker 1: And again I'm off to a thing next week. So well,
- 2:08:48Speaker 1: we'll figure out how to get this out to the masses. Uh.
- 2:08:51Speaker 1: One of the most important things in a podcast is consistency.
- 2:08:54Speaker 1: So we'll figure something out and we'll go from there.
- 2:08:59Speaker 1: Make sure you go check it. Why don't you guys,
- 2:09:01Speaker 1: I'll let you guys do the plug for your for
- 2:09:04Speaker 1: your podcast. Go for it.
- 2:09:06Speaker 2: Yeah, sure, So we run a here's guy to his Gartha.
- 2:09:10Speaker 2: We are an altered podcast. None of us are compensated
- 2:09:15Speaker 2: by Equinox in any way, but we hope to be
- 2:09:16Speaker 2: really good friends with them, and I think that's kind
- 2:09:18Speaker 2: of why we're kind of doing this. But yeah, we
- 2:09:21Speaker 2: do a lot of what I kind of like your
- 2:09:24Speaker 2: guys' format a little more because you guys mostly cover
- 2:09:26Speaker 2: a lot of like news articles, and you guys are
- 2:09:28Speaker 2: very on top of it. But we do lower readings
- 2:09:31Speaker 2: we do. We do news, and we also do mechanics
- 2:09:36Speaker 2: and gameplay aspects too. So we actually have an episode
- 2:09:40Speaker 2: going up tomorrow which would.
- 2:09:42Speaker 1: Be this is this is going on? Yeah, that'll be
- 2:09:47Speaker 1: up before that we'll release yeah.
- 2:09:49Speaker 2: Yeah, so five ten, So we're recording this on May night.
- 2:09:52Speaker 2: This is going to our episode tomorrow, May tenth is
- 2:09:55Speaker 2: actually going to be on a sleep Okay, so we're
- 2:09:58Speaker 2: gonna be talking about a sleep and anchored.
- 2:10:01Speaker 1: Well, if you haven't already checked it out, go check
- 2:10:04Speaker 1: it out.
- 2:10:05Speaker 2: Yeah, it's pretty fun. I kind of like doing it.
- 2:10:07Speaker 2: It's my second podcast, and I learned a lot the
- 2:10:09Speaker 2: first time, so I'm really excited to be doing it again.
- 2:10:11Speaker 3: Yeah. The other thing we do that that this is
- 2:10:13Speaker 3: the part that I love the most, and we sort
- 2:10:15Speaker 3: of did a little bit this with you even though
- 2:10:17Speaker 3: we're on your podcast, is the ability of interviewing people
- 2:10:21Speaker 3: in the community that are making a difference. They don't
- 2:10:23Speaker 3: have to be part of Equinox. They're just someone that's
- 2:10:26Speaker 3: doing something. We interview them and to thank them for
- 2:10:29Speaker 3: what they do and get some of their stories, and
- 2:10:31Speaker 3: they're passionate for this project that we call Altered Right.
- 2:10:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I kind of wanted to interview you guys, and
- 2:10:37Speaker 1: I turned into you guys kind of interviewing me.
- 2:10:40Speaker 2: It was a little bit of both.
- 2:10:41Speaker 1: It was strange. Yeah, it was more of a back
- 2:10:42Speaker 1: and it was back and forth.
- 2:10:44Speaker 3: This has been fun. I really appreciated it, absolutely. But
- 2:10:47Speaker 3: I'm happy to help any time you guys need anything.
- 2:10:51Speaker 3: Appreciate that each other.
- 2:10:52Speaker 2: Yeah, the good boys helping the bad boys.
- 2:10:54Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess for the bad boys. I don't really
- 2:10:56Speaker 1: know how that happened, But.
- 2:10:58Speaker 2: Look, I don't really know. I've just been run with
- 2:11:00Speaker 2: it again.
- 2:11:01Speaker 3: It doesn't make sense to me.
- 2:11:02Speaker 1: Well again, you know, I'm I'm crude, I use bad language,
- 2:11:06Speaker 1: uh I have, I have strong opinions that I'm unwavering,
- 2:11:12Speaker 1: I'm old like just here we are. But thank you
- 2:11:17Speaker 1: all for right now, thank you all for listening, and
- 2:11:20Speaker 1: we'll see you all next weeks.
- 2:11:24Speaker 2: Put up making class, genius. Put up make it class,
- 2:11:29Speaker 2: jus niggasman fats. Put up a making class.
- 2:11:32Speaker 3: Done my je something?
- 2:11:34Speaker 1: Why up change why not.
- 2:11:43Speaker 2: Change bags? Whis
