- 0:00Speaker 1: For someone that wants to go to the summit. Is
- 0:02Speaker 1: there age range or no, there's.
- 0:04Speaker 2: No age range. A lot of what we attract is
- 0:07Speaker 2: women who own their own businesses. At the end of
- 0:09Speaker 2: the day, we are looking for women who are making decisions,
- 0:14Speaker 2: women who have a seat at the table, women who
- 0:18Speaker 2: are comfortable in their own skin. And by the time
- 0:21Speaker 2: they leave our conference, it's amazing what we're able to
- 0:26Speaker 2: see on the other side. Some of these women, they
- 0:28Speaker 2: come in with a little bit of confidence and by
- 0:30Speaker 2: the time it's all said and done, they leave with
- 0:32Speaker 2: a whole marketing plan. They have business partners, they're breaking
- 0:36Speaker 2: up from relationships and I mean working relationships.
- 0:40Speaker 3: Betty and quinailled by Betty Danny.
- 0:42Speaker 4: Nagel with a Nagel Law firm. Coming up next on
- 0:45Speaker 4: the Baller Alert Show.
- 0:46Speaker 5: Push up in a ROBBERI with for Robbert and you

- 0:56Speaker 5: catch us in there a turn us up while you
- 0:58Speaker 5: in traffic slang Welcome to the Grady Shawn Earth. Yeah,
- 1:02Speaker 5: it's the bottle of Alert. Yeah, it's the bottle of Alert. Yeah,
- 1:05Speaker 5: it's a bottle of Alert. Welcome to the Grady Sewn Nerve.
- 1:08Speaker 5: Yet it's the Battle Alert. Yeah, it's a bottle alert. Yeah,
- 1:12Speaker 5: it's the Battle Alert.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Broadcasting live from the Nago Law Firm Studio. I go
- 1:20Speaker 1: by the name for Ari Simmis, Daddy Nagel, and then
- 1:23Speaker 1: missus Betty. You try to make sure I said it correctly.
- 1:32Speaker 1: You got there right, all arrived? Okay? Women and leadership? Yeah, baby,
- 1:40Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 1:40Speaker 2: I'm doing well. I have a friend who says, will
- 1:44Speaker 2: by Betty. When there's a will, there's a way.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Will by Betty.
- 1:47Speaker 6: I like that these businesses.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Yeah, and I know you're on a city tour.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Yes, so we have a six city business summit tour.
- 1:56Speaker 2: And I don't know what the hell was on my
- 1:58Speaker 2: mind or what I was drinking, but I decided that
- 2:08Speaker 2: I decided that I was going to educate women on
- 2:11Speaker 2: the business of law.
- 2:12Speaker 3: So here we are.
- 2:14Speaker 2: You and I both know best that the practice of
- 2:18Speaker 2: law is what totally different.
- 2:21Speaker 4: It's totally different than the business of law.
- 2:23Speaker 1: And the business of law and the practice practice of
- 2:27Speaker 1: law is different. Yeah, because someone who doesn't know what
- 2:30Speaker 1: that means, what does that mean?
- 2:31Speaker 4: Sure? So for example, you can be a really really
- 2:33Speaker 4: great lawyer. You can know the law, you can know
- 2:36Speaker 4: how to apply facts to the law, you can know
- 2:40Speaker 4: you know the procedurally, how to get things done. But
- 2:43Speaker 4: at the end of the day, we are a customer
- 2:46Speaker 4: service business. We are customer oriented because if you can't
- 2:51Speaker 4: meet the emotional and and the I don't know, psychological
- 2:59Speaker 4: needs of your clients, it doesn't matter how good of
- 3:02Speaker 4: a lawyer you are. They're going to go somewhere where
- 3:04Speaker 4: they can get that too. So you have to have
- 3:06Speaker 4: a very good balance of both, which I think is
- 3:10Speaker 4: the point that what Betty is doing and there's no
- 3:14Speaker 4: other program like what she is offering that exists, it
- 3:19Speaker 4: does not exist, So she is first to market with
- 3:22Speaker 4: this type of conference and education for business professionals, especially
- 3:28Speaker 4: women lawyers.
- 3:29Speaker 2: I appreciate you saying that, and just to kind of
- 3:32Speaker 2: go back when you think about marketing or you think about, hey,
- 3:36Speaker 2: are the numbers adding up? If you went to school
- 3:39Speaker 2: for law, you just know the law. You don't know
- 3:44Speaker 2: how to make one plus one equals ten. In your mind,
- 3:49Speaker 2: you're like, damn, how do I scale my business?
- 3:54Speaker 1: How do I get that's different than the actual law
- 3:57Speaker 1: studying the law, you have to scale something that's requires
- 4:00Speaker 1: a different skill set, Like you guys.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Right, I'm sure you marke it different.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Right. You know your avatar, so you stick to your
- 4:08Speaker 2: avatar and when you try to pivot, you're taking a risk, right.
- 4:13Speaker 3: But you know the level of degree of risk.
- 4:15Speaker 2: With lawyers, they're like, all right, if I'm gonna take
- 4:18Speaker 2: this risk, am I gonna go all in?
- 4:21Speaker 3: Or am I gonna go a little bit? So that's
- 4:23Speaker 3: what we do. We educate them around, Hey.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Sprinkle this here, sprinkle this there, and boom you get
- 4:29Speaker 2: someone like this.
- 4:30Speaker 1: A haha, that's a good person to be right there.
- 4:33Speaker 1: That's that's our guy. Okay. Now, for someone that wants
- 4:38Speaker 1: to go to the summit, is there age range or no?
- 4:40Speaker 2: There's no age range. A lot of what we attract
- 4:44Speaker 2: is women who own their own businesses. At the end
- 4:46Speaker 2: of the day, we are looking for women who are
- 4:50Speaker 2: making decisions, women who have a seat at the table,
- 4:55Speaker 2: women who are comfortable in their own skin. And by
- 4:58Speaker 2: the time they leave our conference, it's amazing what we're
- 5:02Speaker 2: able to see on the other side. Some of these women,
- 5:05Speaker 2: they come in with a little bit of confidence and
- 5:07Speaker 2: by the time it's all said and done. They leave
- 5:09Speaker 2: with a whole marketing plan, they have business partners. They're
- 5:12Speaker 2: breaking up from relationships, and I mean working relationships. I
- 5:17Speaker 2: had this funny story happen to me. In fact, I
- 5:19Speaker 2: said to my husband, I was like, you know what,
- 5:22Speaker 2: I think we may need to look into a more
- 5:25Speaker 2: you know, sophisticated security system at a young lady. She
- 5:28Speaker 2: attended my conference and she said to me, Hey, Betty,
- 5:32Speaker 2: I want to catch up with you. Great, let's catch up.
- 5:34Speaker 2: She's like, you know, I just divorced from my husband.
- 5:36Speaker 2: I was like, oh, damn, congratulations, because one of the
- 5:39Speaker 2: ladies said, when you're divorced, it's congratulations. So we say congratulations.
- 5:43Speaker 2: But the follow up was, no, it's not we feel
- 5:48Speaker 2: sorry for you. It's congratulations.
- 5:50Speaker 1: Got it.
- 5:51Speaker 2: So what happened was she said to me, Betty, my
- 5:55Speaker 2: husband said after he left your conference, I picked up
- 5:59Speaker 2: the end and I decided that I was going to
- 6:01Speaker 2: go forward with this divorce. So in my mind, I'm like, congratulations,
- 6:05Speaker 2: but that man must be real pissed at whoever the
- 6:07Speaker 2: hell is will buy Betty the hell is Betty?
- 6:09Speaker 1: Yeah, thing about that. So she said that you empowered
- 6:14Speaker 1: her to divorce her husband.
- 6:17Speaker 3: You like to tell people business but yes, I.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Mean, but you know she's giving you, she's given you
- 6:21Speaker 1: the tools to set yourself up to divorce. No for
- 6:25Speaker 1: a positive outcome, and sometimes the divorce probably fell into
- 6:29Speaker 1: the positive outcome.
- 6:30Speaker 2: It was the positive outcome. Congratulations, congratulations.
- 6:37Speaker 6: Conversation like, oh my god, I went to this amazing conference.
- 6:42Speaker 1: She already went back there with a plan. She already
- 6:44Speaker 1: had her whole divorce plan, her business scale plan, everything.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Yes, So, I mean that's a lot of what we
- 6:50Speaker 2: do when we talk about a business plan. One may say,
- 6:55Speaker 2: you know what, I'm gonna put this amazing business plan together.
- 6:59Speaker 2: That's probably gonna be five ten years. But when you
- 7:01Speaker 2: really look at a business plan, if the business plan
- 7:04Speaker 2: doesn't have a couple of different components, meaning do you
- 7:08Speaker 2: have the capital number one, most most people don't. Most
- 7:12Speaker 2: people don't, right, do you have the knowledge? And then
- 7:17Speaker 2: most importantly, do you have the mindset to stay in
- 7:21Speaker 2: the game. Because again, a business plan is what I'm
- 7:24Speaker 2: on paper, but when you're really in it, when you're
- 7:27Speaker 2: really in it, every day.
- 7:29Speaker 3: Looks different, every day looks different.
- 7:31Speaker 1: And then what we bring at Wilby Betty he was
- 7:33Speaker 1: in a good mood yesterday, My bad, today's you're still
- 7:38Speaker 1: in a good movie. Yeah, whatever, my bad. I'm sorry,
- 7:40Speaker 1: So let.
- 7:41Speaker 3: Me see, let me see if we can keep that
- 7:42Speaker 3: some continuity.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Going with the molone.
- 7:47Speaker 4: I'm sorry.
- 7:47Speaker 3: A lot of love.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Or hate every year is hate, but scaling if you're
- 7:55Speaker 1: scaling your business.
- 7:56Speaker 3: So I'll tell you this.
- 7:57Speaker 2: When you walk into a women and LEADERSHI conference, the
- 8:01Speaker 2: room is so heavy. You get to see women that
- 8:04Speaker 2: are so accomplished from the standpoint of they own businesses.
- 8:10Speaker 2: They have seven eight figure businesses, some ten figures. Then
- 8:14Speaker 2: you've got women that are going to trial and they're
- 8:17Speaker 2: up against these you know, big guys, big girls that
- 8:21Speaker 2: have deep pockets. So a lot of our lawyers they're
- 8:24Speaker 2: PI lawyers. And the distinction between both is these are
- 8:29Speaker 2: the people that are representing folks like you and I,
- 8:33Speaker 2: And then you got the folks that sit on the
- 8:35Speaker 2: other side. They're defending insurance companies. So guess what they
- 8:39Speaker 2: have marketing dollars. They have dollars to spend. They have time.
- 8:43Speaker 2: So when you talk about women who are already on
- 8:46Speaker 2: defense because they may not have capital, they may not
- 8:49Speaker 2: have the years they come into a will by Betty Space,
- 8:52Speaker 2: and they get inspired, they start winning cases, they start
- 8:57Speaker 2: to say, hey, do you have more? And the more
- 9:01Speaker 2: came with our six city Business Summit, and I'm sure
- 9:05Speaker 2: you can attest to that.
- 9:06Speaker 4: Yeah, Like, look, law school will already give strong people
- 9:13Speaker 4: a sense of that imposter syndrome, you know what I mean,
- 9:17Speaker 4: it doesn't matter, you know, when you go out and
- 9:19Speaker 4: hang your own shingle and you are a business owner,
- 9:22Speaker 4: Like that's heavy. You know, I can't even pretend to
- 9:26Speaker 4: imagine what it's like to be, you know, a woman
- 9:30Speaker 4: or a minority woman when there are already factors outside
- 9:35Speaker 4: of your control that you have to contend with. Because
- 9:39Speaker 4: you know, we have not achieved a society in which race, culture,
- 9:45Speaker 4: class is not a thing yet. You know, I don't
- 9:48Speaker 4: know if we will ever get there. Hopefully we will, right,
- 9:51Speaker 4: that's the goal. But this type of program to just
- 9:56Speaker 4: give somebody that little bit of confidence is like it's
- 10:00Speaker 4: like striking a match and then before you know it,
- 10:02Speaker 4: like it's lighting up a whole city. And we were
- 10:05Speaker 4: just talking right before we came in here. And I'm
- 10:08Speaker 4: not going to give any of the lawyers any free publicity,
- 10:12Speaker 4: but if you think about the mainstream law firms in Atlanta.
- 10:18Speaker 4: You can you know, you can name them off the
- 10:20Speaker 4: top of your head. None of them are women owned, right,
- 10:26Speaker 4: And it's like, why is that what's going on here?
- 10:30Speaker 4: Because I have a lot of colleagues that I graduated
- 10:33Speaker 4: with that are extremely intelligent, extremely good lawyers and extremely
- 10:37Speaker 4: good business people. But it's like, you know, how are
- 10:41Speaker 4: they gatekeeping this? You know what I'm saying. And you know,
- 10:46Speaker 4: my daughter's about to be thirteen, Like we getting ready
- 10:48Speaker 4: to plan her King Sinnetta next year. You know what
- 10:51Speaker 4: I'm meaning. We got to do it a year in advance,
- 10:53Speaker 4: and she has already indicated like I want to take
- 10:58Speaker 4: over the firm when I get older.
- 11:01Speaker 1: That's amazing.
- 11:02Speaker 4: So you know, by working with people like Betty and
- 11:07Speaker 4: these types of leaderships is to knock down those barriers.
- 11:10Speaker 4: So it doesn't mean, you know, we're against all these
- 11:13Speaker 4: lawyers right now, but it's like there's plenty of room
- 11:16Speaker 4: at the table, like everybody can eat. There's no reason
- 11:19Speaker 4: why Georgia has as many women lawyers as there are
- 11:24Speaker 4: and you can't name one in the top six or
- 11:28Speaker 4: seven like you can those other people, Like there's no
- 11:30Speaker 4: reason for that unless there's being some gatekeeping going on,
- 11:34Speaker 4: you know.
- 11:36Speaker 1: I just seen one, probably like one or two.
- 11:40Speaker 6: Women lawyers, like just billboards, like marketing.
- 11:43Speaker 1: I seen one.
- 11:45Speaker 4: One.
- 11:46Speaker 1: I'm glad you guys brought this up because that was
- 11:48Speaker 1: gonna be my next question. It was going to be
- 11:49Speaker 1: about Danny. You and I are close in age. We're
- 11:52Speaker 1: not old, no, but we're close in age. And I
- 11:56Speaker 1: think anyway, I want to say, growing up, I never
- 12:00Speaker 1: seeing a all women conference with women that you are
- 12:06Speaker 1: talking about doing eight figure deals and all these type
- 12:09Speaker 1: of things. I've never seen that until i'd say the
- 12:12Speaker 1: last maybe two three years. I've seen more because I've
- 12:15Speaker 1: seen a lot more female book authors. I've seen a
- 12:18Speaker 1: lot of women do everything right. I want you both
- 12:22Speaker 1: to answer. Danny, you first, because I was talking to
- 12:24Speaker 1: you about this about our age. How does it make
- 12:28Speaker 1: you feel now to see the influx of women attorneys, lawyers, pi's,
- 12:34Speaker 1: women bosses, women executives, And then Betty? How does that
- 12:38Speaker 1: make you feel? To make it to lift it up more?
- 12:42Speaker 4: But yeah, bro, it's great because in my opinion, a
- 12:47Speaker 4: rising tide lifts all boats. You know what I'm saying, Like,
- 12:50Speaker 4: our common enemy is not each other. You know what
- 12:53Speaker 4: I'm saying. Our common enemy, I'm gonna use air quotes
- 12:57Speaker 4: enemy is big corporations that take advantage of the people.
- 13:02Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying. So the more lawyers that
- 13:04Speaker 4: are out there that are confident, you know what I'm saying,
- 13:07Speaker 4: it's easy. It's very easy in the personal injury space
- 13:11Speaker 4: to settle the case. It's very easy, especially if you're client.
- 13:14Speaker 4: They don't know what to expect, and you know they're
- 13:17Speaker 4: relying on your expertise. So someone that doesn't have a
- 13:20Speaker 4: lot of confidence to say, you know what, I'm not
- 13:24Speaker 4: gonna take like my client is not gonna take this offer.
- 13:27Speaker 4: We're gonna push it to the next stage. We're gonna
- 13:29Speaker 4: keep on pushing. We're gonna keep on pushing, applying that pressure,
- 13:32Speaker 4: like a lot of people will just fold. So to
- 13:34Speaker 4: have someone that's giving that type of confidence to lawyers,
- 13:40Speaker 4: especially women lawyers, because in my career I've been a
- 13:45Speaker 4: lawyer since twenty twelve. Women lawyers get fairly or unfairly
- 13:52Speaker 4: pegged as in two different categories. Either number one, they're
- 13:56Speaker 4: soft and weak, or number two, they're a bitch and
- 14:01Speaker 4: they're and like unapproachable, you know, difficult to work with,
- 14:07Speaker 4: you know, just mean and ornery and unlikable. That's it.
- 14:12Speaker 4: There's no middle ground. It's one or the other. And
- 14:14Speaker 4: so these types of services that Betty is offering allows
- 14:19Speaker 4: those types of stereotypes, those stereotypes to be broken down
- 14:24Speaker 4: and that that stigma taken away, you know what I'm saying.
- 14:29Speaker 4: And so for me, it's like, listen, I welcome people
- 14:33Speaker 4: to try and emulate and copy what I do, but
- 14:37Speaker 4: I don't. I don't look at anybody as competition because
- 14:41Speaker 4: the overwhelming majority of people in Georgia don't even hire lawyers,
- 14:45Speaker 4: which they should. So the more we all eat, the
- 14:48Speaker 4: better it is for all of us. That's how I
- 14:50Speaker 4: see it.
- 14:52Speaker 2: Damn, thank you for this opportunity. Let me just start there,
- 14:56Speaker 2: because this moment probably wouldn't be possible without someone who's
- 15:01Speaker 2: comfortable in his own skin. How do I feel? Let
- 15:05Speaker 2: me just tell you guys what I'm up against. I'm
- 15:08Speaker 2: a female of color, Dominican. I'm sitting here.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Oh I love some Dominican food, my stepmom Dominican conversation.
- 15:18Speaker 1: I can smell it from here.
- 15:27Speaker 3: So anyway, so here I am. I say papito, I
- 15:30Speaker 3: say this. I'm Dominican.
- 15:33Speaker 2: My call it peers that have been running conferences for
- 15:38Speaker 2: years don't look or sound like me. They got hell
- 15:41Speaker 2: of deep pockets, they got hell of name recognition.
- 15:46Speaker 3: They've been doing this for years.
- 15:48Speaker 2: This little young black girl from Harlem jumped on the scene.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Zero dollars, zero influenced, zero name, zero anything, and I said,
- 15:59Speaker 2: you know what, I'm gonna put a whole bunch of
- 16:02Speaker 2: women together. Forget about what I think of us, but
- 16:06Speaker 2: this is what we're gonna do. So when I look
- 16:08Speaker 2: up today, I sit here representing all of these women.
- 16:14Speaker 2: And when you think about people like David, who can
- 16:17Speaker 2: sit and say Danny, Danny, Danny. Anyway, you got people
- 16:29Speaker 2: like Danny, David Danny who are comfortable in their own skins.
- 16:34Speaker 2: So at the end of the day, how do I feel?
- 16:36Speaker 2: I feel really good about what we're doing. I also
- 16:39Speaker 2: know we still have a lot of.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Work to do, for sure. Whatever we could do to
- 16:43Speaker 1: help and just help spread the word. I know we're
- 16:46Speaker 1: doing it right now by talking about it and doing that.
- 16:49Speaker 1: But if we got to physically get out there with
- 16:51Speaker 1: you guys, let us know that's cool.
- 16:53Speaker 4: Well, going back, just for a second, think about what
- 16:56Speaker 4: you said, right, like you and O are similar in age, right.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Like growing up never saw this ever.
- 17:02Speaker 4: Yeah, Like from cartoon superheroes right to lead roles in
- 17:08Speaker 4: sitcoms to you know, most of the content that we
- 17:16Speaker 4: have been fed from the early eighties to through the nineties,
- 17:21Speaker 4: through the early two thousands and the twenty teens, it
- 17:24Speaker 4: was always some type of physical content. You know, the
- 17:32Speaker 4: supermodels for L'Oreal and the makeup and whatever it is.
- 17:37Speaker 4: Right now you have Betty switching up the game. It's like,
- 17:43Speaker 4: you know, it's not about you know, being physically attractive.
- 17:48Speaker 1: I'm just just saying, Danny, it wasn't about you seeing
- 17:51Speaker 1: a female executive. Yeah, growing up, you never saw a
- 17:53Speaker 1: female executive period.
- 17:55Speaker 4: I think the only show that I could think of
- 17:57Speaker 4: off the top of my head was Ally McBeal. You
- 18:01Speaker 4: know what I'm saying, Like, that's the only one I
- 18:03Speaker 4: can think of, because even if you got for example,
- 18:06Speaker 4: Law and Order, the main attorney was the dude for
- 18:09Speaker 4: the longest time. Correct, And even on SVU you had
- 18:14Speaker 4: Marissa Hariskote or something. I know, I'm butchering her name,
- 18:17Speaker 4: Mariska Hargetate, whatever, but you know how I'm talking about
- 18:20Speaker 4: her and Stabler Stabler was like the more straight to
- 18:24Speaker 4: the point, you know, very logical one. She was the
- 18:27Speaker 4: emotional one. So even in a role of authority, women
- 18:33Speaker 4: was still being trade betrayed at portrayed as emotional and weak.
- 18:39Speaker 4: And so that's why these things are so important because
- 18:42Speaker 4: again it's not just my daughter.
- 18:44Speaker 1: You have daughters, daughters, everyone's daughters.
- 18:49Speaker 4: You know, they need to know that their worth extends
- 18:54Speaker 4: beyond their physical appearance. And that's what that's what this does.
- 19:00Speaker 4: And just spreading awareness like this, you know, who knows
- 19:04Speaker 4: who who's gonna see this and be inspired? Who knows
- 19:06Speaker 4: gonna go to that? Who knows who's gonna go to
- 19:08Speaker 4: that conference? And then they teach somebody, Then they teach somebody,
- 19:12Speaker 4: and then they build because these conferences, what happens is,
- 19:15Speaker 4: I'm sure you're gonna test to this people foreign little groups,
- 19:18Speaker 4: and then they bounce ideas off each other and then
- 19:20Speaker 4: some grand idea comes out of it. And that's how
- 19:23Speaker 4: the ball keeps getting pushed forward. In business and in law, well,
- 19:27Speaker 4: I love.
- 19:28Speaker 2: This no gatekeeping concept that you em body, and I'll
- 19:32Speaker 2: just say this. Nineteen seventy five was when women were
- 19:37Speaker 2: able to finally get a credit card.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Wow, that's not too long ago either, No.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Thirty nine years ago. Have spending power, mind you, that's crazy,
- 19:49Speaker 2: totally crazy. And if you think about that for a moment,
- 19:54Speaker 2: back in the day, most men did what and they
- 19:56Speaker 2: probably still do this. They gave their you know, their
- 19:59Speaker 2: earned income to their wife, and she was the one
- 20:02Speaker 2: who really held things down right, spend everything, did all
- 20:06Speaker 2: the budget. And here's the best part. When you look
- 20:10Speaker 2: at some of these law firms, they're built by women.
- 20:15Speaker 1: You're right, I'm built by my woman. I couldn't be
- 20:18Speaker 1: where I am my wife's in account. I probably say
- 20:21Speaker 1: that I'd be hushy to daddy and stay at the
- 20:23Speaker 1: house all day. If I tell her the other day,
- 20:26Speaker 1: I will keep this house clean, baby, because she's a
- 20:29Speaker 1: she's a top executive account.
- 20:31Speaker 4: Look very very quick. So when I have done some
- 20:36Speaker 4: work with high schools, and one of the things that
- 20:39Speaker 4: I taught younger people is there's no such thing as
- 20:41Speaker 4: no experience. What she's talking about. The women running the
- 20:44Speaker 4: household and running the budgets and stuff. That's CEO behavior
- 20:48Speaker 4: behavior like they're the CEO of their family, you know.
- 20:54Speaker 4: And so why can't those same skills be looked upon
- 20:58Speaker 4: as experience in the corporate world.
- 21:02Speaker 3: You know why because a design.
- 21:07Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's where we're working, you know, towards how
- 21:10Speaker 2: do we change not all of the colors, but how
- 21:14Speaker 2: do we make it a little more colorful where people
- 21:17Speaker 2: like us could have a seat at the table and listen.
- 21:20Speaker 2: I don't want to get too deep into this, but
- 21:23Speaker 2: when you look at how much money women are making,
- 21:27Speaker 2: some of us are at sixty cents on the dollar,
- 21:30Speaker 2: some of us are eighty cents on the dollar. This
- 21:32Speaker 2: is a real gap that exists. And I remember climbing
- 21:36Speaker 2: up the corporate ladder. I would have my mentors, who
- 21:39Speaker 2: were all men. They would ask me, Hey, what do
- 21:42Speaker 2: you think about this initiative? What do you think about
- 21:44Speaker 2: us rolling this out? And then three weeks later, the
- 21:46Speaker 2: whole company would have a whole new marketing initiative, a
- 21:49Speaker 2: whole new campaign. I'd be like, well, damn, I know
- 21:54Speaker 2: I said that, so sometimes you think you're crazy. So
- 22:00Speaker 2: again we got some work to do, but with people
- 22:02Speaker 2: like Danny at the table.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Now, as far as your conference, what do people get tickets?
- 22:08Speaker 2: Yes, so people can go to w w W well
- 22:10Speaker 2: by Betty dot com.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Do we spell that? Put it on the screen. TC,
- 22:16Speaker 1: thank you w y l B y B t t Y.
- 22:20Speaker 2: That is our annual conference that's happened in September fifteenth
- 22:23Speaker 2: through the eighteenth in New Orleans A speaker there.
- 22:27Speaker 4: If I'm invited and I'm in and I'm available, I
- 22:30Speaker 4: will be there. I know my office manager is going
- 22:33Speaker 4: to be there, and any of my employees that want
- 22:35Speaker 4: to go are more than welcome to go, and I
- 22:39Speaker 4: will pay for it.
- 22:40Speaker 2: You know. Hey, hey, now hold on a second. That's
- 22:43Speaker 2: that's some real talk right there. I got some females
- 22:46Speaker 2: that have said to me, hey, Betty, I need like
- 22:48Speaker 2: an approval letter.
- 22:48Speaker 3: I'm like, what is that?
- 22:54Speaker 6: I guess they got to go to whoever they work
- 22:56Speaker 6: for and get it approved and see what it is
- 22:59Speaker 6: before they can go.
- 22:59Speaker 4: Get that's crazy. Like I had to bribe my people
- 23:04Speaker 4: to go and be become a notary. I'm like, y'all,
- 23:06Speaker 4: y'all need to be a notary. Like not only did
- 23:09Speaker 4: I pay for them to become a notary, but I
- 23:11Speaker 4: bonus them when they became a notary, and every new
- 23:15Speaker 4: employee that we were.
- 23:16Speaker 1: In for peoplement.
- 23:19Speaker 4: Yeah, so a notary is you have to you have
- 23:22Speaker 4: to get a couple of signatures that vouch for you.
- 23:24Speaker 4: You have to live in a county, and then you
- 23:25Speaker 4: have to take a test and then from there. A
- 23:28Speaker 4: lot of legal documents require a notarization, meaning that the
- 23:32Speaker 4: two people signing that document appeared before them, So it's
- 23:36Speaker 4: not some fraudulent activity going on. And so if you
- 23:39Speaker 4: ever hear like you need to get this notorized, it's
- 23:41Speaker 4: because that is most likely a legal binding document. And
- 23:45Speaker 4: so just the power to be a notary. You know,
- 23:48Speaker 4: some people charge twenty five bucks, fifty bucks, whatever. You know,
- 23:51Speaker 4: you're not going to make a career out of it.
- 23:52Speaker 4: Some people do, but it's just one more thing, one
- 23:55Speaker 4: more tool in their bag of qualifications. So everyone that
- 24:01Speaker 4: works for my firm, and most of our employees are women,
- 24:04Speaker 4: uh Hispanic women, to be exactly, because we we are
- 24:07Speaker 4: bilingual law firm. I'm like, you must become a notary.
- 24:10Speaker 4: I'll help you get it, I'll pay for it, and
- 24:12Speaker 4: I'll bonus.
- 24:13Speaker 2: You for it.
- 24:14Speaker 3: Nice good man, good fire, yeah, good man.
- 24:17Speaker 1: Ok Okay, Well, Betty, give us some shout outs anything
- 24:21Speaker 1: we missed.
- 24:21Speaker 2: You can speak loud, okay, because this platform mm hmm.
- 24:34Speaker 6: Now what cities you're gonna be hidden.
- 24:35Speaker 2: So we got our business summit. It's a sixth city tour.
- 24:39Speaker 2: We started off in.
- 24:40Speaker 3: L a and now we're coming to Atlanta.
- 24:44Speaker 2: May eighth, May eighth, So please go grab your tickets
- 24:48Speaker 2: if you're local to Atlanta. W W W will by
- 24:50Speaker 2: Betty Dot The Business of Law. You don't have to
- 24:53Speaker 2: be a lawyer to show up. Show up, Okay, and
- 24:55Speaker 2: then do not have to be a lawyer to show up. No,
- 24:57Speaker 2: just show up, show up. I'm gonna look for you. Okay,
- 25:00Speaker 2: you're not working right, Okay, Okay, when's.

- 25:19Speaker 2: And then from there we're heading off to Shottown and
- 25:23Speaker 2: then that's.
- 25:24Speaker 1: A that's a good month to pick sht Town because, boy,
- 25:26Speaker 1: if you was out there January, what ye're so Chicago
- 25:33Speaker 1: was After Chicago?
- 25:34Speaker 3: After Chicago, we got the big City, New Orleans.
- 25:37Speaker 2: The wall Is Baby, and the annual conference, and then
- 25:42Speaker 2: we're ending the tour in Houston.
- 25:45Speaker 1: He damn, it's a nice ass tour.
- 25:49Speaker 2: Absolutely, you're hearing all the spots you need to be
- 25:52Speaker 2: at talking about money Miami.
- 25:57Speaker 1: You missed Miami.
- 25:59Speaker 3: Where we spent the money. Come on, have a good time.
- 26:01Speaker 3: So but.
- 26:04Speaker 1: We was just talking about that.
- 26:06Speaker 4: He was like, you, Toby there.
- 26:11Speaker 2: So that's our six city tour than our annual conference September.
- 26:16Speaker 3: We're super excited. We're super blessed that.
- 26:19Speaker 2: You know, God has put people like Danny and Angie
- 26:23Speaker 2: and our path and now we get.
- 26:24Speaker 1: To tough energy ing Inge.
- 26:27Speaker 2: What a beautiful soul and Christian who made all this possible.
- 26:31Speaker 2: And to you guys for having us, Thank you so.
- 26:33Speaker 6: Much, thank you fulling up man and giving out game.
- 26:36Speaker 6: You know what I'm saying, a lot of people don't
- 26:38Speaker 6: don't want to do this. A lot of people do
- 26:39Speaker 6: not share information. We're just talking about that the other day.
- 26:42Speaker 6: It's really sharing the information because people don't want to
- 26:47Speaker 6: take their spot by competition.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Looks competition, man.
- 26:51Speaker 4: Look. My wife gave me some safely advice. She said,
- 26:54Speaker 4: everyone is your friend until you're doing better or equal
- 26:58Speaker 4: to Sorry, every one is your friend into you're doing
- 27:01Speaker 4: equal or better than them. So that's that's some hater stuff.
- 27:04Speaker 5: Man.
- 27:05Speaker 1: I hate it, and you can't cuss. I said, that's
- 27:07Speaker 1: some hater ass.
- 27:08Speaker 4: Yeah, that's some hater ship.
- 27:09Speaker 6: And it happens more more than you think. There could
- 27:13Speaker 6: be people hating on you right now that you think
- 27:15Speaker 6: that they rooting for you, but they really rooting for
- 27:17Speaker 6: your downfall.
- 27:19Speaker 1: For sure. It's a lot of gatekeeping.
- 27:22Speaker 6: Gate keeping going on at the conference, man, so makes
- 27:24Speaker 6: y'all pull up, get your tickets. She's scaling businesses, she's
- 27:28Speaker 6: making y'all money, and she's giving out game.
- 27:32Speaker 1: You did. The room gonna smell like peaches and everything great.
- 27:38Speaker 1: I just I just love women, but I just love

- 27:44Speaker 4: Man.
- 27:44Speaker 1: I telling you I brought her some money and she
- 27:45Speaker 1: bought a house. She brought us a house. Bro damn
- 27:48Speaker 1: good woman. I'm a faithful, great black man. Ball Alert.
- 27:53Speaker 1: Peace
