Chasing The Magic: Hey everyone, I'm Laura. And I'm Lindy. Grab your Mickey ears. It's time to chase the magic. Laura: Sorry, we're all we're all over the place today. It's a lot of transitioning. Yeah. Transitioning. we how's your weekend? Good. What did I do? I don't know. I don't know. Did you get to play Drew My Valley like you wanted to? I did. I played a lot. Good, good. Are you I did and I did the floating island and I Liked it. See, it's cute. It's not that intense this time around. And it's not like you have to go back every day like to collect something. Right. I did all three or all four. There's four unlocked, yeah. In one sitting. Okay. So it wasn't bad. The last one or the last two will unlock this week. Okay. Mm-hmm. Very nice. I played a little bit, but I I realized well and I should have known this, the way it was structured, but I finished the main story of Honey Glow Woods before I did most of the characters quests. Like I have too. Okay. Yeah. Are you all done with Honey Glow? I think so. I haven't done any of the character quests though. Okay, well that's I guess that's kinda what I meant. Like, yeah, I I have so there's a lot of them. That that was like now that I'm doing them, I'm like, this is a little overwhelming for Just a little adventure pack. Yeah. Yeah. But I agree. I agree. so yeah, I don't know, maybe I'll I'm trying to make sure everyone is leveled up. I mean that's my goal before the next DLC comes out. Which is well you got like a month and a half. Yeah, but I don't play that much. So Yeah. We'll see. You got this. Yeah, we'll be we'll be fine. We'll be fine. I mean, even if I'm not, I always, you know. always something to do. Somebody posted on these one of these tips and tricks, they were like, my rule for myself is make sure like everyone's leveled up basically, like before getting a new DLC. I was like, I mean I guess that's fair. I mean I leveled up versus doing their quest though at this point. I used to each level of a character Chasing The Magic: It's time for making memories and dreaming like daddies. Laura: I would do their quest automatically, but I had so many characters backed up. I was like, I just need to get leveled up. Right. And then starting with the Hercules when we got Hercules and his star path, you had to get him leveled up to get one of your right things. I was like And Ralph. Yeah. I'm pretty sure. I'm not there yet. I did finish a lot of those. Yeah. Close to it. You still have plenty of time, I think. Mm, I wanna say like a month still, maybe a little bit less. But We just jumped right into dream snaps there. And there's so many dream snaps. quests in this star cap. Do you know what I'm saying? You said that last week and I I don't know if I agree, but I'm having to vote a thousand different times as a title. voting? And I also I think this I'm on my second one, I have to submit. I've never done more than two more had more than two submission tasks. The voting I don't care because that's quick. You just I know push a random button. Okay. Well, anything else? Mm. I mean, I know we're not really talking Dreamlight Valley news yet, but Well we can. And go for it. I don't know. I Not really. Okay. I mean, we kinda talked about the floating island already and star bath stuff, so Yeah, that's true. There's not much going on in in the valley. No. I think after I'm done with Honey Glow, like I'll I have them all I think I have everybody but Piglet leveled up to level ten. And so once I do all their quests, I'm gonna go back to the other DLCs and try to like complete more of them. Okay. I don't know. Just 'cause I really don't have anything else to do right now. Okay. And I don't like decorating that much. I did some decorating. I put I had to put Ross' house somewhere. I just plopped. It's so ugly. I put with vanel pie in that little corner of peaceful meadow. Okay. 'Cause I could, you know, make it look nice over there. I don't like her house either, so I like, Might as well. that's what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to get Dreamlight so I can open up another island and I'm going to make a farming island. Mm-hmm. Instead of having it in a storybook mail. So but I don't have a lot of Dreamlight for some reason. I don't know where it goes. Well either. I mean you don't play that much, so it's harder for you to accumulate it. And I when I do play I don't really do the tasks. I kind of just do what I want to do. all right, Disney News. Mickey's not so scary Halloween party didn't sell out this year. Really? Yep. So on August thirtieth, they still had same day availability, which is extremely unusual. But I've been seeing in a lot of the groups, since I'm in the groups for the party, that it's like people aren't happy with it. And I'm like, I don't think it's changed that much. They're not happy with the amount of people who get to go. Like they think it's too Crowded. Too crowded, which are they selling more tickets? I don't know. Than they have in the past. I don't know. I think I mean, but the price keeps getting higher, so I don't know. But okay, to me though, that's not I don't know. Are those things actually related? You know what I'm saying? The people that are aren't happy with the party have already gone to the party. Right. Are these people that would have maybe gone to another party and not and are not? I d I doubt it. I mean, you have the locals, right? That maybe go to more than one party, but Yeah, 'cause if you pay for your I mean, if you pay for an annual pass, you essentially like girl math is you go to Disney for free. So might as well spend two hundred dollars on a party ticket, you know? I don't know. I could be wrong. Well I'm searching, I'm curious. Doesn't disclose No. Estimated sold out attendance is twenty five thousand to thirty thousand guests. So what's a average park day? I guess. twenty-five thousand. Yeah, that sounds like a lot. I feel like it I feel like Magic Kingdom can reach forty or fifty. See what magic kingdom's capacity is average. Okay. I'm just curious. Yeah. And I have very what time you have? Six. Okay. I probably really just need to leave here by five forty. eighty-five to a hundred thousand. So yeah, I mean that's nothing. That's nothing. But everybody's wanting to do the same things. Right? Everybody's wanting to do the same Right. Yeah. Everybody's wanting to see the parade and the fireworks, but it's just why they added the midnight. Right. They added another showtime. Showtime. Like parade or boat. Okay. Honestly, you need to look at that schedule and think about it. So, you know, I don't know. I don't know. I just told it to tell me the best strategy for avoiding crowds. Avoiding crowds plus still getting the vibes. Well yeah, sure. We get there at four. Duh. Duh. Get in and knock out one to two headliners. Rides. As in like rides, okay. Okay. But see, we're not really gonna do even do things like that. We're gonna hit the overlays. Yeah. like I don't wanna do tiana's as much as I love it, but I don't wanna be wet the whole night, you know? Right. So but we can talk that. We've got some interesting news. I'm gonna share my screen because Disney's new Lakeshore Lodge. I know, I heard is opening July 1st, 2027. So where is it at? The concept art. That's a good question. And I think it's gonna be a D V C also. I think that I heard that as well. Introducing the all new Disney Resorts Collection Hotel on the tranquil shores of Bay Lake. Where's Bay Lake? Bay Lake. Is it Is that right in front of Yeah, Sail Magic Park. Mm-hmm. We have water taxi. Yeah. So we have resort studios, duo studios, and deluxe studios, villas, grand villas, lake houses. Toy Story 5 is coming to Disney Plus. And World Princess Week is happening soon. Is it this week? See, I thought it had already happened. They were doing a different princess drop every day, and I really hope some of that gear is still in the parks. I mean I'm sure it's online, but streaming on it has wrapped. Okay, so I don't know why chat okay. Did you see all the 2027 and 2028 cruise itineraries? No. Because if I look on the No, I can't I mean we're already going back to you know so we can't stay for two Disney trips in two years. Like that's insane. I think that's how it goes. I'm not looking at it to remember off the top of my head what the change was, but we can do an episode before we go about it for sure. okay. What was your first impression of Thor? This wasn't my first impression of Dor. Yeah, no, I have you've seen this one. I've seen it. It's just been a while and I didn't remember all the details. See this is what I've seen a couple of times. Yeah. I mean I like the movie as a whole or him? Is it asking him? Him. yeah, no, I mean he's cute, but kind of a douche. Yeah. Yep. Kind of a print. Was he supposed to be unlikable or did he just annoy you? I think he was supposed to be unlikable. Yeah. yeah. I mean Yeah. And when did you actually start rooting for him? Hm. mean, after he got kicked off and met Jane and Yeah. All that. I can't think of the agreeable moment, right? Now Loki, what? Mm-mm. No? Mm mm. I remember I can pinpoint it and it was the it was the moment where he was gonna sacrifice himself. When he told Loki to kill him instead of cause Loki sent that guardian thing down. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Okay. now Loki, do you feel bad for Loki? I do. I mean after finding out I don't I did not remember that detail. you did. That he was not no. So that's like his whole villain origin story. I don't know these things. This weekend ended up being really marble heavy though because we s we watched Thor on Friday and then we went to see the new Spatterman movie on Saturday. how was it? I liked it a lot. That's good. I thought it was really good. good humor and I guess we'll get to that a recap it one day. but yeah, no, I didn't realize that at all about Loki. And so I don't know. I mean no, not really. You can still make a choice. You had a loving father. You had a brother that Right was actually truly like a brother. Not a bad dude. Yeah. I mean they had well my f one of my first reactions was like sibling rivalry much. Right. Like a little bit when his dad w yeah, their dad told told them there can only be one king one day, whatever. But No, other than that, they got along and I'm gonna start using this line. He was like really mad after I think he had just gotten home. He had been he he was like in trouble. Something happened, Thor was in trouble and he was in a really bad mood and he and Loki walks in and he goes, Brother, I don't think it's wise for you to be in my company right now or something. I was like, Y'all need I told the girl that was like y'all need to tell each other that I don't think it's we can avoid some arguments. Just communicate and then yep. was Loki always destined to become a villain? No. That's why I said I don't feel sorry for him, because he made the choice. Well but also okay, we say no. And I'm gonna go a little into the Marvel verse here. When you go to watch Loki, the T V series, and you meet the Minuteman and you get in all the room in all the worlds and all the blah blah blah. There's like different timelines that we see of this of some scenes in this movie about Loki. Okay. And about how it's not Loki's not Loki. I don't know, it's weird. So if we're just going off of based off this movie, right, you have a choice. But if you're going based off the whole MCU universe, I can't think of the the different timelines. I think they're just called timelines. I couldn't my brain's not functioning at the moment. I think that's right. Off the different timelines, I Yeah. Who knows? Okay. Just saying. about Loki. Cause I think we kind of just said it, like he still had a choice. He was low. You could tell his mom like if you were Loki, would you be pissed too? Like No. don't know. I mean maybe initially that like no one ever told me. Yeah. Right? But like I don't know. He was mad before that. Yeah. But he was bitter before that. Thor and Jane, do you buy their relationship? Hmm. Do they act Okay. I like their relationship. It's just never I mean there is. There's a whole thing. Thor, it's a full arc with him and Jane. And I guess maybe we'd have to look at the comics, but I don't think Natalie Portman comes back for all of the movies. My thoughts on her character were like for as good of an actress as she is, I did not like her character. I didn't think she I was like maybe they like wrote weird stuff for her and she just had to go with it. But like I just there were so many parts in the movie where I was like, why would they make her do that or say that that way or I don't know. So like In that sense, maybe not as believable as I would want it to be. I right. trying to see how many Thor movies she was in. Why did Natalie Courtney quit Thor? Yeah, so she only did this first and the second one. Wait, so there are three? Thor? my gosh. Wait. Right? I don't know. We saw a preview in Spider-Man. I just saw a question that said something about Thor. Yeah. So what's Thor two called? Hold on, let me look at the Thor. I just saw a question that was about will Natalie Portman come back to Thor five. So you have Thor, which is what we just watched. That's that's where it is. Thor the Dark World, which is the second one. Thor Ragnarok. which is the third one, and then Thor Love and Thunder, which is the fourth one. And nothing on IMDb about another Thor. We saw preview for something for related. I swear we did. Alright. I don't know. May I don't think it was just Doomsday, but maybe Release date. No official release date. Has not officially announced or scheduled the movie. So that wasn't it. Maybe it was a yeah, maybe. But so yeah, there were creative differences. And I think it kind of ruined his whole storyline when it comes to The Jane storyline. I didn't feel that way about her acting. So I just she's in so much stuff and I was just like She's never been my favorite. But I wonder when what movie was she what Star Wars movie was she in again? jeez. I have no idea. one of the newer ones. Probably who he's playing. Probably yellow screaming at us. That was the squad. He should be. We need to bring him in. He's a creative. Okay, so that was nineteen ninety-nine. Okay. So I'm ninety-nine. Yeah. I was like, well maybe they put her they only put her in it because she was already like you know? Mm-hmm. And don't think that's it. Did their romance happen way too fast? I mean it didn't seem I do think it was fast. I do think it could have been built a little bit more. Because like if you look at Tony and Pepper, like they're not even we've watched two Ironmans and like there's something there we're now kinda seeing. Right. You know? Right. Like this was just the first four I feel like we could have. Mm-hmm. But again, I don't know how much we're following the comics and all that stuff. Right. But Yeah, but I mean, knowing I don't know, with as many like Disney movies we watch, I didn't really even second guess it. 'Cause it's like, yeah. I know. They just met and I know. They love each other. Not until you like get asked about it and you think about it. Yeah. do we appreciate Darcy? yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I thought she was some, you know, comic relief. For sure. I'm not gonna lie, I don't think I've paid attention in the past to when Thor was explaining to Jane like the he drew the tree of the universes and I don't know, I kinda thought it was cool. Totally got lost in that. I feel like I've watched them enough that I'm like, I get it. so which storyline did you perform prefer, Asgard or Earth? Mm. Mm probably earth. Yeah. I guess 'cause it's just more like I'm I've got all my nerves, I'm not gonna lie. I'm and I will tell you, and I feel like this is Marvel's had to be Marvel's first like fiction y world. It was to me it was beautiful. Like the art, how they made Asgard. Like the bridge and all that. Yeah. Like it was it was beautiful cinema. And I'm like, you know what, Disney, y'all could make us a nice little Marvel land somewhere. Like a real one, not with But there's so many laws with Sony and the East Coast and the West Coast and all that stuff. So that's probably not something very can there even like is on there plate, you know? Well they have the Avengers campus, but that's probably But that's because it can be on the West Coast. I they when Disney bought the Marvel stuff park wise Universal East Coast. was a is able to keep their stuff and they don't want parks on the East Coast and Disney to have marble stuff. Okay. Yeah. So it makes sense. Probably because they know. Like I mean it I mean it makes sense. Like people already come to Disney World. They if that's a that was a smart thing to put in contract. Like no you can't put marble stuff on your big park. Right. Keep it over there. Yep. Because it's not gonna hurt us. As much. I went for one reason I went to Harry Potter World. I went to Harry Potter World to get my wand and then I left because it was hot. So I don't know what the rides look like there, but it's only one park. The one in Orlando now has the three parks. Right. But it was always just the two parks. So I don't actually know what rides are at that I don't know anymore. I went to I went there when I was, I don't know, ten, eleven. And they had like an E. T. ride and a Jurassic Park ride, I remember. But I don't remember a lot about it and we should do a universal trip. Chasing magic takes on universal. I don't know how Our fans would feel about that. I mean, it's still magical at Universal Studios. There's Harry Potter. Okay. No, we did I will say we watched this like YouTube video or whatever and they he did like he stayed at like all the big like the nicest resort at I think it was like Disney, Universal, Nickelodeon and there was one more place. Lego. yeah. And it was interesting and he, you know, he did a good job and Universal does look really cool, but it does. It's still not. I know, but I think your eldest is getting to that point where that might be a thing she would enjoy. yeah, yeah, for sure. all right. I can't say it. I feel like who was it that kept saying it wrong? Mjolnir? Mjoln? Mjolner. Mjjolner. But was it Darcy who kept saying meow meow? Meow meow. Yeah. It's funny. why couldn't Thor lift the hammer before? Actually don't know. He lost his power, right? That's wild. Yeah, when he got sent to Earth. Yeah. His dad whispered into the hammer that i whoever is worthy of it can lift it, basically. And so he wasn't worthy because he didn't have his character arc yet. Yeah. We didn't see his Yeah change. Right. what specifically changed? Okay, that was his sacrifice enough to make him worthy? I honestly don't know what his sacrifice was. Was it It was him like Saving the sacrifice to kill. Was it was it what I was talking about? Yeah. Himself? Right. But it but he didn't end up sacrificing himself. He just But he it was the act, right? I feel like I'm missing something else. I'm gonna ask chat to tell me the answer to that. What sacrifice? I mean I that's what I would assume. I would assume it'd be it was that first sacrifice when the Thingy came down from Loki and he was like, it's the sacrifice at the end of Thor when the destroyer comes to Earth. Right. Yeah, that. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. So we yeah. We were correct. Then yes, I would say that made that I feel like that makes him worthy. I mean. It says is this one of the best hero becomes worthy moments in the MCU? How are we gonna I don't know. Yeah, that's a I I don't think I've watched enough of the individual movies stories to say. Well also like they're all kinda egotistical. I mean but they have to be to be so it's like I don't know if any of them are actually I think are there other movies though that are like become like sort of coming of age in a way, right? I mean like he is growing. He did grow. He had a character mo growth moment. The other ones are what I know of Spider-Man does kinda too. Right. But he's never but he's always like a very good, like grounded Guardians, what's his name? He's also kind of like this a little bit very selfish at first. but there's nothing like Captain America also I feel like has well, Captain America has to do its own growth, though. Cause Captain America's thing I feel like is very I mean we'll get to that, that's our next movie, but like compared to Thor, Thor was very arrogant, prince-like, and like he had to like learn how to be the opposite of selfish. Selfless? Selfless. He had to learn how to be selfless and he had to learn how to like, I don't know, sacrifice himself. I feel like Captain America would have always sacrificed himself, but Captain America has to learn like about the gray, the in between. Right? Mm-hmm. It's not just black and white. Yeah. So I don't know. That's kind of an odd question. But there's never is there another movie that's like change your character or you can't be a hero kind of thing, basically. Or you can have a just a little bit maybe cotton. I don't know. I mean, not that I can think of. No. I mean, because you can tell Tony Stark that, but he's gonna be like whatever, you know? I don't know. So now this might be the only one really like that. But he also he didn't have Tony didn't have he had like full control over his correct kind of power powers, you know, his kind of. He had the thingy placed in his chest. Yes, but like It wasn't like Right, he could have decided to just learn to live with it but instead of make a super serious Yeah. You know? Yeah. Yeah, you are correct. Or it wasn't and it wasn't like it was another like his dad or another force, if you will, that was right controlling the outcome of that. Okay, so we're gonna do some hot takes and you're going to agree or disagree. Okay. Loki is more interesting than Thor. Okay, I agree. Yeah. that's probably true. What were you gonna say? I'm gonna say I agree. I yeah. No, I mean he but k because he's so I mean, there's so much I still don't know about him apparently. And and Thor is kinda like you s what you see is what you get. True kind of thing. Yeah. Darcy is one of the funniest characters we've met so far. maybe. Like in in in the Marvel universe. We haven't met a lot of side characters. Roadie is a side character. Can't even think of the ones from Hulk. Okay. Thor and Jane's romance is not convincing. That's I would agree with that. Yeah, I I wouldn't like not agree, but I would say it could be better. Yeah. The Thor Loki relationship is the emotional heart of the movie. That's kind of yeah. I mean it kind of caused because like his dad's dying and like Loki had a choice. He could have been okay, come back, or instead he was like, No, no more Thor, you know? Yeah, I would agree with that. Okay. Thor becoming worthy of Mjolnor is more satisfying did I say it wrong? Satisfying than the final. What, Mjolnir or satisfying? I probably said it wrong too. Mjol meon Mjoln Mjolnir Mjolnir Meow Meow. We'll just go with meow meow. Meow meow. Don't we're becoming worthy of mejolnir is more satisfying than the actual final battle. Mm. Mm. I don't know. The most satisfying part of that movie to me is the end and like he's killing the bridge and Loki's like, you won't see Jane Like Loki has Some sort of heart inside of him to me, that's how I saw that. Like I didn't some people might say that's like Loki being selfish, but like Loki saw what Jane did for Thor and she was like, You won't see her again. You're cutting off, blah, blah, blah. I don't know. That was that part of the movie really Yeah got me. Yeah. I did like the the end scene. Or I I guess that would be part of the final battle. Yeah. Cause he was trying to keep If he hadn't destroyed the bridge, I had to ask Miss Nick about this because I was like, what is happening? if he hadn't destroyed the bridge, then the the frost giants, their whole world or whatever would have been gone. Yes. Right? I would have come to Asgard. Right? I thought he didn't want all of the frost giants dying because he didn't want to kill off a whole Yes. I don't know. Because wasn't it Loki's idea to kill off the whole destroy and I like how it's just called the Rainbow Bridge. Like we could come up with a better name. Mario Kart than Rainbow Bridge. Rainbow Road. Rainbow Road, Mario Kart. because it's the only way to stop Loki from destroying the Jothenheim, which is the where the frost high giants live. Yes. Okay. Yeah. So I I mean, to me that's a bigger sacrifice than like he'd already gotten his Yolnir backput by then. But Okay, what what do we think? You can't tell what we're saying.
