The Season with Peter Schrager: End of Year Mailbag (Part 2) · NFL explained.

0:07
Speaker 1: The Season with Peter Schreeger as a production of the
0:09
Speaker 1: NFL in partnership with My Heart Radio. What's Up, Everybody,
0:24
Speaker 1: It's Peter Schreeger and this is the Season with Peter
0:27
Speaker 1: Schreeger as an end of the year treat. I opened
0:30
Speaker 1: up on Twitter and said opened up. I opened up
0:33
Speaker 1: to everybody on Twitter, and I showed my true colors,
0:36
Speaker 1: and I said, send me anything, any mail, bad question
0:39
Speaker 1: you want, ask me anything, and we'll pick a few
0:41
Speaker 1: of them and we'll answer them on the podcast as
0:44
Speaker 1: a little end of the year treat. This is part two.
0:46
Speaker 1: Part one was an interview we recorded earlier today with
0:49
Speaker 1: Andrew Whitworth, who I don't know, it seems like I
0:53
Speaker 1: can still play for the Bengals and uh good that
0:55
Speaker 1: to listen went with this grant. I also discussed Sean
0:57
Speaker 1: Payton at length in that podcast. But Aaron wrong Kaufman,
1:02
Speaker 1: I love working with you. It is now week seventeen
1:06
Speaker 1: of the season with Peter Schrager. We've had a ton
1:08
Speaker 1: of guests and now it's time to dip ourselves into
1:13
Speaker 1: the reader and listener questions. Do you want to just
1:16
Speaker 1: fire these at me? And then uh, I'll take my
1:18
Speaker 1: best stab at answering some questions from Twitter. Perfect sounds good,
1:22
Speaker 1: all right, So the first one we've got is from
1:24
Speaker 1: I apologize when I mispronounced all of these Twitter handles,
1:27
Speaker 1: but Saudi Banani, I think it sounds right. Yeah, and
1:31
Speaker 1: they rhyme, so that makes sense. They asked you, what's
1:34
Speaker 1: the key to the Packers earning a playoff spot and
1:37
Speaker 1: progressing beyond the wild card weekend? You know, shame on
1:41
Speaker 1: everybody in the NFC. You know, the Packers were four
1:44
Speaker 1: and eight, four and eight, especially following two primetime losses,
1:51
Speaker 1: the terrible one at home to Tennessee and then the
1:54
Speaker 1: one where they fought hard put loss to the Eagles.
1:57
Speaker 1: And you come out of that fourign eight. The Packers
1:59
Speaker 1: should be done. Any team that's foreignate should not be
2:01
Speaker 1: going to the playoffs. And yet NFC team by NFC
2:05
Speaker 1: team by NFC team, one by one by one continues
2:08
Speaker 1: to screw up and lose games, allowing the Packers to
2:11
Speaker 1: still have a flicker of hope. And now the Packers
2:14
Speaker 1: have won three straight games. They got rested on the
2:16
Speaker 1: bye week. Their special teams is suddenly something that's a strength.
2:19
Speaker 1: Run for the last year and a half, it was
2:22
Speaker 1: an absolute embarrassment. And you look, they got everything they
2:25
Speaker 1: needed this week. They got the Giants to lose, they
2:27
Speaker 1: got the Commanders to lose, they got the Seahawks to lose.
2:31
Speaker 1: You look at that NFC South that's irrelevant for the
2:34
Speaker 1: wild card race. None of those teams going on the
2:36
Speaker 1: wild card. So all those other teams that they needed
2:39
Speaker 1: to lose lost, and the Lions lost. So suddenly the
2:44
Speaker 1: Packers are seven and eight. They are a half game
2:47
Speaker 1: out of the final NFC playoff spot, and they've got
2:51
Speaker 1: the Vikings and the Lions, two teams that they have
2:53
Speaker 1: just bullied around for the last two decades at home
2:56
Speaker 1: the next two weeks. What they need is this, they
2:59
Speaker 1: need to win both of their final two games. Obviously,
3:03
Speaker 1: they've got to beat the Vikings in Lambeau and then
3:06
Speaker 1: they've gotta beat the Lions in Lambeau, which I think
3:08
Speaker 1: is doable, especially if Rogers is playing like you've been
3:11
Speaker 1: playing the last few weeks. And then they need the
3:14
Speaker 1: Commanders to lose one of their games. Okay, one of
3:18
Speaker 1: their final two games, which is Cleveland or Dallas or
3:23
Speaker 1: Commanders can win both those games. They need the Giants
3:25
Speaker 1: to lose both so their best bet is this their
3:28
Speaker 1: best bet, and they got helped by the Eagles for
3:31
Speaker 1: losing on something because now the Eagles are gonna you know,
3:34
Speaker 1: I have to be playing and the Cowboys are gonna
3:36
Speaker 1: be playing to the final stretch. So here's what they need.
3:39
Speaker 1: Packers fans, you're failing me. Here's what you got. Win
3:42
Speaker 1: these final two games, and then you need Dallas or
3:45
Speaker 1: Cleveland to beat Washington. If you get that, you're in.
3:49
Speaker 1: And then Rogers is the seventh seed. And guess who's
3:52
Speaker 1: most likely the two seed? Forty Niners? And guess what
3:57
Speaker 1: Rogers Niners revenge from last year in San Francisco. Let's
4:02
Speaker 1: roll like this thing is crazy. The fact that they
4:05
Speaker 1: even let this guy, and you know it's I always
4:08
Speaker 1: say he's like the Boogeyman in the NFC, like keep
4:10
Speaker 1: him out of the club. Do not let the Boogeyman
4:12
Speaker 1: back in. But here we are, and I think they
4:14
Speaker 1: played well last week. I gets the Dolphins three picks
4:16
Speaker 1: yet and I'm not sure if Tour was concussed during
4:18
Speaker 1: that or not. It doesn't matter. The defense is all
4:20
Speaker 1: over the place. They just absolutely manhandled the Dolphins, uh
4:24
Speaker 1: in that final Stanza. So Packers are alive Vikings. If
4:29
Speaker 1: you want to put an end to everyone's misery, just
4:31
Speaker 1: beat them and and shut everyone up and show that
4:34
Speaker 1: you're not just one of these smoking mirrors teams that
4:36
Speaker 1: wins by one score every game and just hangs on
4:38
Speaker 1: by the skin of their teeth. Go beat them if
4:40
Speaker 1: you really want to tell everyone that you're the power
4:42
Speaker 1: of the NFC North. If not, you better believe that
4:44
Speaker 1: game Sunday night is going to be on TV and
4:47
Speaker 1: it'll be national television Lions versus Packers with Aaron Rodgers
4:50
Speaker 1: playing for a chance to make it to the NFL playoffs.
4:53
Speaker 1: Wild Ride. I'm here for another team that we got
4:56
Speaker 1: a ton of questions about, was the Raiders and their
4:59
Speaker 1: chances of making into the playoffs. Yeah. So I do
5:02
Speaker 1: a segment on Good Morning Football every year called a
5:04
Speaker 1: Beautiful Mind, and I take the team that has longest
5:07
Speaker 1: odds at making the playoffs going into Week seventeen, the
5:11
Speaker 1: longest odd so, the biggest long shot, and it's the
5:15
Speaker 1: Las Vegas Raiders, with Aaron a one point to five
5:18
Speaker 1: percent chance to make the playoffs. Here's a clip from
5:22
Speaker 1: the show where I explain exactly what they need to
5:25
Speaker 1: see the Silver and Black playing in January. It might
5:28
Speaker 1: take a little bit more than a winning in like
5:30
Speaker 1: it did in one against the Chargers, But the Raiders
5:34
Speaker 1: are still alive for the playoffs, and I'm here to
5:36
Speaker 1: tell you how they will make the dance. Here's one
5:40
Speaker 1: way the six and nine Raiders can still qualify for
5:42
Speaker 1: the NFL playoffs. Producers, Can I have my music? Please?
5:47
Speaker 1: Can I my music? Thank you? For the Raiders. To
5:50
Speaker 1: secure a playoff birth, Las Vegas must win their last
5:55
Speaker 1: two games home against the forty Niners, then home against
5:58
Speaker 1: the Kansas City Chiefs. Second, the Dolphins must lose their
6:02
Speaker 1: last two games Week seventeen at the Patriots, then we
6:06
Speaker 1: eighteen home against the Jets. Third, the Jets need to
6:11
Speaker 1: lose Week seventeen at Seattle, then win in week eighteen
6:16
Speaker 1: at Miami. Fourth, the Patriots then need to beat the
6:20
Speaker 1: Dolphins in Week seventeen, but then lose Week eighteen at
6:25
Speaker 1: Buffalo against the Bills. Fifth. Fifth, the Steelers then need
6:32
Speaker 1: to lose at least one game. Now they can lose both,
6:35
Speaker 1: but Pittsburgh must lose at least once, either at the
6:38
Speaker 1: Ravens in Week seventeen this Sunday night or home against
6:42
Speaker 1: the Browns six six. The Titans they need to beat
6:47
Speaker 1: the Cowboys at home, then losing their regular season finale
6:50
Speaker 1: against the Jaguars. If all of that happens, there would
6:55
Speaker 1: then be a sixth way tie for the seventh playoff spot,
6:59
Speaker 1: and that sixth way tie would be between the Patriots,
7:02
Speaker 1: the Dolphins, the Jets, the Steelers, the Titans, and the Raiders.
7:07
Speaker 1: Which team would get the final spot? Well, first, the
7:10
Speaker 1: tiebreaker is a divisional The Patriots would have the best
7:13
Speaker 1: had to add record among the Jets and Dolphins, which
7:16
Speaker 1: would eliminate New York in Miami. The second tiebreaker is
7:19
Speaker 1: overall conference record in Pittsburgh would be four night in
7:22
Speaker 1: the conference in the a f C games, Tennessee would
7:24
Speaker 1: be five and seven in the conference in an f
7:26
Speaker 1: C games, but New England and Las Vegas would both
7:29
Speaker 1: be six and six. That eliminates both Pittsburgh and Tennessee.
7:34
Speaker 1: So it would then come down to the Raiders, and
7:38
Speaker 1: you guessed it, the Patriots. And what would the tidebreaker
7:41
Speaker 1: be in that one. Let's go back to the final
7:45
Speaker 1: play Week fifteen, Patriots and Raiders tied at sixty four.
7:49
Speaker 1: Jacobe Meyers lateraling the ball and it landing in the
7:53
Speaker 1: arms of Chandler Jones. After this, Romandre Stephens pitch this
7:58
Speaker 1: play right here would be the tiebreaker after a seven
8:03
Speaker 1: way tie for that seed and the Raider because of
8:07
Speaker 1: this game, this tidebreaker over the Patriots would have the
8:11
Speaker 1: head to head advantage, and it would be the Las
8:13
Speaker 1: Vegas Raiders getting the tiebreaker over the Patriots and learning
8:17
Speaker 1: the final spot in the a f C playoffs. Now, folks,
8:20
Speaker 1: if you're saying that's crazy, you're right. There is a
8:23
Speaker 1: one point to five percent chance that the Raiders have
8:27
Speaker 1: to make the playoffs. But if we've learned anything following
8:31
Speaker 1: the NFL season this year, if you give me a chance,
8:36
Speaker 1: it means there is a way the Las Vegas Raiders
8:41
Speaker 1: would be able to make the playoffs if all those
8:43
Speaker 1: things happened. Do we have my full screen of what
8:46
Speaker 1: they need, producers, Do we have this? This is what
8:50
Speaker 1: they need, all of this help. They need to win
8:52
Speaker 1: two games. They need to lose. They need the Dolphins
8:54
Speaker 1: to lose two games. They need the Jets to lose
8:56
Speaker 1: to the Seahawks but beat the Dolphins. They need the
8:58
Speaker 1: Patriots to beat the Dolphins but lose to the Bills.
9:00
Speaker 1: They need the Steelers to lose one game, and then
9:02
Speaker 1: they need the Titans to beat the Cowboys and then
9:04
Speaker 1: lose to the Jaguars. It is that easy, one point
9:06
Speaker 1: to five. The Raiders are alive and well, Jamie Jason
9:11
Speaker 1: your thoughts. Second question was from Darth Greece's If the
9:16
Speaker 1: Rams recover from all of their injuries, can they be
9:19
Speaker 1: playoff contenders again next season? Also from Argentina Argentina, congratulations
9:27
Speaker 1: Darth Greasey's has been partying the last ten days. Good
9:29
Speaker 1: for he or she? Um Big messy fan by the way,
9:34
Speaker 1: I guess, uh that's not a crazy take, big messy fan. Um.
9:38
Speaker 1: All right, I gotta be careful with the Rams. Everyone
9:40
Speaker 1: knows my relationship with McVeigh and that I'm pretty plugged
9:43
Speaker 1: in with that organization. I would say this, it's gonna
9:45
Speaker 1: be a really interesting offseason. I think the Christmas Day
9:50
Speaker 1: win was really cool. I think the Thursday night win
9:53
Speaker 1: against the Raiders was really cool. But they have salary cap, hell,
9:58
Speaker 1: no draft picks, and a bunch of really highly priced
10:02
Speaker 1: veteran talent, and I'm curious to see what they do
10:05
Speaker 1: and whether it's hey, let's bring everyone back and and
10:08
Speaker 1: try to add more players and get more guys like
10:10
Speaker 1: Bobby Wagner who they got this year, or like Allen
10:13
Speaker 1: Robinson who they got this year, and try to figure
10:15
Speaker 1: it out and sell more picks away. Or is next
10:18
Speaker 1: year one of those like let's give it our best shot,
10:21
Speaker 1: and let's see if Stafford's healthy, and let's see if
10:23
Speaker 1: Cooper cup recovers, and let's just try to roll it back.
10:27
Speaker 1: McVeigh is a big question mark. We'll see. I think
10:31
Speaker 1: there was a report earlier this this month that he
10:35
Speaker 1: might take some time away. Look, we and I have
10:37
Speaker 1: not spoken about that. I wouldn't be shocked with anything though.
10:41
Speaker 1: Um I know Sean has been burning the candle at
10:43
Speaker 1: both ends, and that means both coaching and life wise. Uh.
10:47
Speaker 1: You know, he got married this past offseason, his grandfather
10:50
Speaker 1: passed away, he bought a new home, he went out
10:53
Speaker 1: on honeymoon. Um, he his wife's family is is Ukrainian.
10:59
Speaker 1: There's a lot going on for Sean McVeigh right now,
11:03
Speaker 1: and I would be curious to see how he handles
11:06
Speaker 1: the final two weeks of the season, then also maybe
11:09
Speaker 1: the final weeks of January as well, to see what
11:12
Speaker 1: he wants to do with his future. But I'll say this,
11:15
Speaker 1: I think the roster got just absolutely riddle with injuries,
11:19
Speaker 1: a lot of veteran guys that they all come back healthy.
11:21
Speaker 1: I don't know if I'm if I'm looking at next
11:23
Speaker 1: year's Rams, I wouldn't expect them to be Super Bowl
11:27
Speaker 1: contenders just yet. There's just so many players that got hurt,
11:29
Speaker 1: and so many guys who are I think in in
11:33
Speaker 1: in a different stage of their careers and they were
11:35
Speaker 1: a year ago when they were all home and all right.
11:36
Speaker 1: The third one is from gerr Ky, Yeah, Ky, Why
11:42
Speaker 1: isn't there more smoke about Brady to the Jets next year? Defense,
11:47
Speaker 1: good skill guys. Brady's kids in school in New York
11:50
Speaker 1: chanced to be back in the a f C East.
11:53
Speaker 1: I don't know if that's a positive, But yeah, I
11:55
Speaker 1: don't think Brady would do that to Robert Kraft. I
11:58
Speaker 1: know that sounds wildly like sentimental and all that. I
12:02
Speaker 1: just I don't see Tom Brady, who was the pride
12:07
Speaker 1: of the New England Patriots, and if he goes out
12:08
Speaker 1: of conference and plays for them, and I guess you're saying, well,
12:11
Speaker 1: he's going to the Dolphins. I think Jets and Patriots
12:13
Speaker 1: are a different deal. I really do. I think Jets
12:15
Speaker 1: and Patriots are a different deal. I would see the
12:18
Speaker 1: Tom Brady story, and I guess Daniel Jones makes it
12:21
Speaker 1: kind of mood right now, but because he's playing well enough.
12:23
Speaker 1: But I would see Brady is more of a fit
12:25
Speaker 1: for the Giants than the Jets. I just can't see
12:28
Speaker 1: Brady in the Green and white. I could see the
12:30
Speaker 1: Jets looking to acquire a veteran quarterback, whether that be
12:34
Speaker 1: a Derek Carr in the off season, or signing a
12:36
Speaker 1: Jimmy Garoppolo, or or going heavy after um, you know,
12:41
Speaker 1: some other quarterback that's elsewhere. I just I could see
12:44
Speaker 1: them wanting to bring in Brady, and I could see
12:46
Speaker 1: I just don't see Tom Brady signing with the hated
12:49
Speaker 1: Jets over signing with another team if he comes back.
12:52
Speaker 1: Uh again, that seems like it's contradictory because he was
12:55
Speaker 1: willing to go to the Dolphins. We know that story
12:57
Speaker 1: was out there. I think the Jets are different than
12:59
Speaker 1: the Dolphins. I really do. And I think with the
13:01
Speaker 1: history of dollar check and the Jets and all that stuff,
13:03
Speaker 1: I don't think Brady would want to end his career
13:05
Speaker 1: as a New York Jet. All right, number four from
13:08
Speaker 1: Devon Lynn nine. Who are your top three head coaching
13:12
Speaker 1: options that would be most beneficial for the Broncos? Okay,
13:16
Speaker 1: so Broncos are unique situation, as so many other teams
13:20
Speaker 1: have unique situations to them. Broncos went with the young,
13:23
Speaker 1: hot offensive coordinator named Nathaniel Hackett and swung and miss desperately.
13:27
Speaker 1: It was terrible and the team was undisciplined on the
13:29
Speaker 1: sidelines on national TV, which I think was a great
13:31
Speaker 1: embarrassment to a lot of people um Sunday seeing a
13:34
Speaker 1: fight breakout and also seeing fisticuffs during the game on
13:38
Speaker 1: the sidelines with their own offensive line in their backup quarterback.
13:42
Speaker 1: Last year, dan Quinn was in the final interviews for
13:45
Speaker 1: that job. I think dan Quinn makes a lot of
13:47
Speaker 1: sense to the Denver Broncos. I think uh Frank Reich
13:52
Speaker 1: makes a lot of sense for the Denver Broncos. I
13:55
Speaker 1: think Leslie Frasier makes a lot of sense for the
13:58
Speaker 1: Denver Broncos. Let's say Fraser is the defensive coordinator of
14:01
Speaker 1: the Buffalo Bills right now. He has a history with
14:03
Speaker 1: George Payton, the general manager. Uh you know, I don't
14:07
Speaker 1: know what this team is. Is Russell Wilson as bad
14:09
Speaker 1: as he's played this year? If so, is that at
14:11
Speaker 1: the turrant or is that a detrimental thing for a
14:15
Speaker 1: for a coach that wants to go there, like Seanpagne
14:17
Speaker 1: and we've talked about him at nauseum over the last
14:19
Speaker 1: several weeks. Does he want to go to Denver? Well, Look,
14:22
Speaker 1: they've got a great fan base, they've got an awesome
14:26
Speaker 1: new ownership group that hasn't hired a head coach yet
14:29
Speaker 1: and has a ton of money and is looking to
14:31
Speaker 1: make a big splash. And Denver's a great place to live.
14:36
Speaker 1: It's a great place to raise a family, it's a
14:37
Speaker 1: great place to to to settle. Um. He would have
14:42
Speaker 1: to figure out the Russell Wilson deal. So I don't
14:45
Speaker 1: think it's a young offensive coach. I don't think overro Ijiro,
14:49
Speaker 1: who has been um great as a defensive coordinator, is
14:52
Speaker 1: going to get the head coaching job. I think they
14:54
Speaker 1: go to a guy who has been there, done that
14:57
Speaker 1: before as a head coach and stabilizes this thing. Uh.
15:00
Speaker 1: The names I would put out there, as I've mentioned
15:02
Speaker 1: Dan Quinn Okay, I think he's a very viable option,
15:06
Speaker 1: and I think Frank Wright is a very valuable option.
15:10
Speaker 1: I think Leslie Fraser is a very viable option. And uh,
15:14
Speaker 1: I'll throw another one out there just because I think
15:17
Speaker 1: he's he's done the rounds before, and he's got an
15:19
Speaker 1: offensive mind, and it would be an interesting one. I
15:22
Speaker 1: think Jim Caldwell is an interesting potential higher offensive coach
15:26
Speaker 1: Detroit Lions. For years, um took the Lions to the
15:29
Speaker 1: playoffs twice, got fired and hasn't gotten an opportunity since. Uh,
15:33
Speaker 1: those are the coaches I'm going with for the for
15:34
Speaker 1: the Broncos. As you can see, guys who have been there,
15:37
Speaker 1: done that. You need to stabilize that thing. It's it's
15:38
Speaker 1: kind of off the rails right now. Okay. Number five
15:42
Speaker 1: favorite Monmouth County restaurant. Do you know what Mammoth County
15:45
Speaker 1: is there somewhere in Jersey. Yeah, it's as far as Jersey.
15:51
Speaker 1: I grew up in Mommouth County. I grew up in Freehold,
15:53
Speaker 1: New Jersey, and my favorite Mammoth County restaurant is a
15:56
Speaker 1: place called Federici's. Federici is in downtown Freehold. It's a
16:02
Speaker 1: legendary spot for Springsteen is often seen there where was
16:06
Speaker 1: at least twenty years ago when I lived there. You
16:08
Speaker 1: get those like random like Springsteen was at Federici's. It's
16:12
Speaker 1: the thinnest crust pizza you can imagine, and it's perfection.
16:16
Speaker 1: There pizza is the best pizza in America. I'll put
16:19
Speaker 1: it up against anywhere. I grew up on Federici's pizza.
16:22
Speaker 1: I haven't had it in years. Uh. There was a
16:25
Speaker 1: second Federici's that opened and it was actually interesting if
16:29
Speaker 1: you really want to get into the dynamics of Mammoth
16:30
Speaker 1: County restaurants. One of the brothers opened up another one
16:34
Speaker 1: called Frankie Feds. I hear that those two brothers had
16:36
Speaker 1: a falling out. I'm not sure where this is, but
16:39
Speaker 1: there's like two rival Federici's. It's Frankie Feds, which is
16:42
Speaker 1: about a mile away from Federici's, and both of them
16:46
Speaker 1: are outstanding. Uh my mouth is watering even thinking about it.
16:49
Speaker 1: That is my favorite Mammoth County restaurant. All due respect
16:52
Speaker 1: to pel Does, and I'll due respect to the rest
16:56
Speaker 1: of the Mammouth County restaurants that everyone will be arguing
16:58
Speaker 1: about when they listen to this. You know, I've heard
17:00
Speaker 1: a lot about Jersey pizza, but uh never, never really
17:04
Speaker 1: like had a great New Jersey pizza, which is partly
17:07
Speaker 1: my fault. It's different. It's so like I think like
17:09
Speaker 1: a New Jersey slice. People think of like a New
17:11
Speaker 1: York Slice, and that's great, and people in Long Island
17:13
Speaker 1: will say, no, Long Island pizza is the best. Federchies
17:16
Speaker 1: is unique. It is like a cracker. It is so thin.
17:19
Speaker 1: I don't know if Portnoy did uh, I gotta look
17:21
Speaker 1: it up. If Dave Portnoy has ever done, you know,
17:24
Speaker 1: the pizza review for Barstool from feder Rechies. I'm curious
17:27
Speaker 1: what he would give it to me. It's a ten.
17:28
Speaker 1: It's the best pizza in the world. Following up another
17:30
Speaker 1: food one favorite New York City steakhouse. Oh, okay, New
17:36
Speaker 1: York City steakhouse Peter Lukers is not necessarily the best
17:42
Speaker 1: steak or dining environment, and that Peter Lukers is legendary.
17:47
Speaker 1: It's under the under the bridge in Williamsburg and it's
17:51
Speaker 1: like no credit card, all cash. But it is a
17:55
Speaker 1: fun night out. It is old school New York. So
17:58
Speaker 1: I like the Peter Luker's experience, but I'm not gonna
18:02
Speaker 1: say it's the best steak. I'm gonna say this, this
18:05
Speaker 1: is a bit of an outside the box pick. I
18:07
Speaker 1: don't think a lot of people talk about this place
18:10
Speaker 1: as a steakhouse because it's also one in l A.
18:12
Speaker 1: Wolfgang Puck has a fancy as steakhouse called Cut and
18:17
Speaker 1: Cut has that wago, which is, you know, two dollars
18:21
Speaker 1: for eight ounces of steak. It's absurd, But there is
18:24
Speaker 1: one in the four seasons downtown in Manhattan. I have been,
18:29
Speaker 1: I have been taken there. I certainly I am not
18:31
Speaker 1: the one dipping into that. If you're ask me what
18:32
Speaker 1: steakhouse I choose, it's usually the outback variety um, which
18:37
Speaker 1: is nothing to shake a stick at. But if you
18:39
Speaker 1: are in New York or Los Angeles, and in Los
18:42
Speaker 1: Angeles they have one in the four seasons. They're also
18:44
Speaker 1: Cut by Wolfgang Puck. Um insane wa goose steak like
18:50
Speaker 1: just melts in your mouth. Nothing better in the world
18:52
Speaker 1: than that, alright. Number seven from Josh B. Stern, Where
18:57
Speaker 1: did you get the sweatshirt you wore Christmas Eve on
18:59
Speaker 1: the show Good Morning Yes Yes, Yes, So on the
19:03
Speaker 1: show Good Morning Football, I wore a sweatshirt that had
19:05
Speaker 1: every NFL low go on it, and it was a hoodie.
19:08
Speaker 1: It is actually from a collection that the NFL put
19:12
Speaker 1: out called the Jeff Staples NFL X All Team Logo Sweatshirt.
19:17
Speaker 1: From what I got thousand in tweets about this, where'd
19:19
Speaker 1: you get swatsht Where'd you get that sweashirt? It's sick.
19:21
Speaker 1: It's every team's logo. It's bizarre. It looks like your
19:25
Speaker 1: old sheets when you were a kid, with all the
19:27
Speaker 1: NFL logos on it. And it's just in a sweatshirt forum.
19:30
Speaker 1: But right now I'm told they're all sold out, so
19:32
Speaker 1: keep an eye out for it. Jeff's Staples, he is
19:34
Speaker 1: a streetwear brand. I don't know him. Uh, He's apparently
19:38
Speaker 1: a very popular designer, like of the Supreme Variety or
19:42
Speaker 1: one of those brands the I'm trying to sound cool.
19:45
Speaker 1: I'm not the one who's hanging outside Supreme waiting three
19:47
Speaker 1: hours for a T shirt. But Jeff's Staples NFL X
19:52
Speaker 1: All Team Logo sweatshirt. I had those those sheets with
19:55
Speaker 1: the old school Paths logo and the oilers, like I
19:58
Speaker 1: had those NFL sheets. Yeah, everyone had those NFL sheets.
20:02
Speaker 1: They were the best. I would love to have those
20:05
Speaker 1: sheets now as an adult. All Right, Number eight, what's
20:08
Speaker 1: been your favorite moment of Good Morning Football. I'll tell
20:12
Speaker 1: you my favorite moment of Good Morning Football, and it
20:14
Speaker 1: was a It was a pretty cool deal because we
20:18
Speaker 1: were in our second season as a show and we
20:21
Speaker 1: had really picked up a lot of steam and we
20:22
Speaker 1: were getting critical acclaim and everyone was like, we love
20:24
Speaker 1: the show, we love the show. And the Eagles lost
20:28
Speaker 1: Carson Wentz and Nick Foles comes in and Kyle Brant,
20:32
Speaker 1: my co host, does a whole speech on Good Morning Football,
20:36
Speaker 1: mimicking the Rocky four speech, where you know, Adrian's telling
20:41
Speaker 1: him he can't do it, he can't do it at
20:43
Speaker 1: the top of the stairwell and she's like, you can't
20:46
Speaker 1: do it, You're not able to do it, Like what
20:47
Speaker 1: are you doing? You can't do it. And he's basically
20:49
Speaker 1: saying this to the Eagles, all right, and he's telling
20:52
Speaker 1: them you can't do it, You're not good enough. What
20:54
Speaker 1: are you doing? You're done? What do you can't do?
20:55
Speaker 1: You're not going to fight if Andrago and Russia? What
20:58
Speaker 1: are you doing? Um? And Cole does this whole amazing speech.
21:01
Speaker 1: You can google it. It's great. Here's the wild, wicked
21:04
Speaker 1: turn to this thing. Doup Peterson, the head coach of
21:08
Speaker 1: the Eagles at the time, sees the clip, not knowing
21:12
Speaker 1: that actually he knew, but knowing that his team might
21:17
Speaker 1: not know the reference to the Rocky speech. He plays
21:21
Speaker 1: Kyle Spiel to the Eagles the night before their game
21:25
Speaker 1: against the Falcons in the NFC Divisional Round, and it's
21:28
Speaker 1: Kyle Brandt saying you can't do it, You're not good enough,
21:32
Speaker 1: There's no way you can do it. Da da da da,
21:34
Speaker 1: all the stuff that probably uh Jason Kelsey scream about
21:38
Speaker 1: in a Mummer's costume. So Peterson plays that for the team.
21:43
Speaker 1: They don't know the Rocky speech. They just see some
21:45
Speaker 1: white guy at Good Morning Football telling them they're not
21:48
Speaker 1: good enough and there's no way they can win without
21:50
Speaker 1: Carson Wentz and they're gonna lose their terrible team, the
21:53
Speaker 1: worst number one seed in football history. Great, they go
21:57
Speaker 1: out there, they go and they beat the Atlanta Falcons.
21:59
Speaker 1: Julio Jones has one in the back of the end zone,
22:01
Speaker 1: goes through his hands. They beat the Falcons. They're going
22:04
Speaker 1: to host the NFC Championship game the following week. John
22:07
Speaker 1: Clark is the local NBC reporter for Philadelphia. He gets
22:11
Speaker 1: Brandon Graham, the team captain number fifty five, gets him
22:14
Speaker 1: in a moment and says, Brandon, what do you want
22:18
Speaker 1: to say to the fans who do who are rooting
22:20
Speaker 1: for the Eagles and all the people who doubted you?
22:22
Speaker 1: And he looks to the camera and says, Peter, not Peter,
22:26
Speaker 1: Peter Schreeger. Peter Schreeger, you didn't think we could do this.
22:31
Speaker 1: I want you to eat your words. You were wrong,
22:33
Speaker 1: Peter Schreeger. You were wrong. Preeter Schreeger. Yeah, you better believe.
22:40
Speaker 1: And like I said, Brita Schreegor, you was wrong. We
22:43
Speaker 1: he good Morning Football. Y'all need to add that boy
22:46
Speaker 1: on there. He was wrong. My name is Peter Schreeger.
22:48
Speaker 1: I didn't even say anything. He just saw a white
22:51
Speaker 1: guy good Morning football and assumed I was Kyle and
22:54
Speaker 1: he's going off on the NBC, you know, broadcast. I'm
22:57
Speaker 1: sitting at home getting a million tweets. I'm getting a
23:00
Speaker 1: million texts. All my Eagles friends like Brandon Graham is
23:03
Speaker 1: out for blood for who I picked the Eagles to win.
23:06
Speaker 1: They like, I'm like, all right, so we're all laughing,
23:09
Speaker 1: rub a good time. We run the clip on Good
23:10
Speaker 1: Morning Football. Sure enough, they're going to beat the Vikings.
23:13
Speaker 1: They're playing the Eagle, They're playing the Patriots in the
23:15
Speaker 1: Super Bowl. Me, Nate and Kyle, we get to go
23:19
Speaker 1: to the Super Bowl and we're sitting together. We're having
23:21
Speaker 1: a blast and it's an amazing day and the game
23:23
Speaker 1: is incredible. Turns out Derek Barnett strips Tom Brady, Brandon
23:29
Speaker 1: Graham's trips Tom Brady, whoever does it? The Eagles win
23:32
Speaker 1: the game. The coolest moment of Good Morning Football was
23:35
Speaker 1: not my interaction with Brandon Graham, which did follow and
23:37
Speaker 1: we had a great time, and he came on our
23:39
Speaker 1: show and we had a blast and we unpacked it all.
23:42
Speaker 1: But the coolest thing was we were a part of
23:44
Speaker 1: that journey. We were on the show every morning. Kyle
23:47
Speaker 1: was kind of the resident Eagles rallying cry guy. I
23:50
Speaker 1: had been covering the Eagles for years. I knew Doug
23:52
Speaker 1: really well, I knew how he Roseman really well, and
23:55
Speaker 1: I had really fallen in love with Nick Foles. The story,
23:57
Speaker 1: you know, from being discarded by Jeff Fisher on National
24:01
Speaker 1: TV to being cut by the Chiefs. You know, all
24:04
Speaker 1: this stuff coming out of really oblivion to come on
24:08
Speaker 1: this team because it was so cold in Minnesota, and
24:11
Speaker 1: it was ice cold in Minnesota. We had to walk
24:14
Speaker 1: out of that stadium after the win, and there's these
24:16
Speaker 1: little corridors like almost like connecting what would you even
24:20
Speaker 1: call them sidewalks if you will, but like they're they're
24:23
Speaker 1: over what would you call them? And you know I'm
24:24
Speaker 1: talking about, yeah, toddles connecting all the hotels. And to
24:29
Speaker 1: be a part of this walk back with thousands of
24:32
Speaker 1: Eagles fans chanting E A G L. E S Eagles,
24:37
Speaker 1: all the Eagles, chance fly, Eagles fly, all the stuff.
24:40
Speaker 1: And I saw grandparents crying with their sons who were
24:44
Speaker 1: crying with their sons and just joy and like I'm talking,
24:48
Speaker 1: I get goose bumps. Thousands of fans of a fan
24:51
Speaker 1: base I had not one since nineteen sixty finally winning
24:54
Speaker 1: the Super Bowl and all of them walking in Unison, singing, chanting, hugging, loving,
24:59
Speaker 1: And I was with my two brothers. I was with
25:01
Speaker 1: Nate and Kyle, and we were walking through those corridors
25:04
Speaker 1: together and I remember getting back to the reminisc being
25:06
Speaker 1: like that was a cool moment, Cool moment for our show,
25:09
Speaker 1: and uh, I'm pretty blessed to be a part of this.
25:11
Speaker 1: So Nate has gone on to to to be on CBS.
25:15
Speaker 1: K is no longer with us, um she's with FanDuel,
25:18
Speaker 1: But me and Kyle are still doing it. We got
25:19
Speaker 1: two new great hosts and Jason mccordy and Jamie Hurtle,
25:24
Speaker 1: and I'm looking forward to having plenty of memories with them.
25:26
Speaker 1: But that was my favorite memory. That whole Eagles run.
25:29
Speaker 1: It was pretty damn cool. That's awesome. I love that.
25:31
Speaker 1: I'm and I'm you know, very thankful that I get
25:34
Speaker 1: to work with the great Preetor Schraeger too. So Freeter, Preet, Aaron,
25:39
Speaker 1: anything else, anything else mailbag related that was our last
25:43
Speaker 1: was great. To do that again, we'll do it again.
25:47
Speaker 1: Maybe we'll do it uh instead of uh, you know,
25:50
Speaker 1: having to book my own guests and try to ask
25:51
Speaker 1: for favors, We'll just do whilbags every week. It sounds fun.
25:56
Speaker 1: Let's let's have a nice end of the year. Thank
25:58
Speaker 1: you to everybody. To you, Aaron, You've been awesome. We've
