- 0:03Speaker 1: This is a podcast called twenty five whistles, talking fun ball,
- 0:08Speaker 1: and they all wire a whist. So yeah, it's too bad,
- 0:11Speaker 1: but what did you expect? It's a podcast called twenty
- 0:15Speaker 1: five whistles presented by draft kings sports book, an official
- 0:22Speaker 1: sports betting partner of the NFL. Download the draft kings
- 0:25Speaker 1: APP and use the Code Bobby Sports to get in
- 0:27Speaker 1: on the action. Kick off, Kevin Whistle us in. All right,
- 0:33Speaker 1: let the show begin. I'm gonna say this. I'm probably
- 0:35Speaker 1: gonna win my best this week. It's gonna say it
- 0:37Speaker 1: right now. I'm thinking about it too much. I'm one
- 0:39Speaker 1: fifteen in a row and that's absurd even the greatest
- 0:44Speaker 1: of the great. This is like throwing two perfect games
- 0:47Speaker 1: in a row. To throw one is incredibly lucky because
- 0:50Speaker 1: you're gonna have a lot of luck and you've got
- 0:52Speaker 1: to be playing well, feeling well. Then you're gonna have
- 0:54Speaker 1: a ton of luck. But imagine doing it two games
- 0:56Speaker 1: in a row, and the double header even it felt
- 0:57Speaker 1: like a double header, where I'm pitching both games now,
- 1:00Speaker 1: throwing two perfect games, pressure and I'm like my arm
- 1:04Speaker 1: should be falling off. Yet I feel like I'm angels
- 1:06Speaker 1: in the outfield. They're throwing it like somebody, somebody's doing this.
- 1:09Speaker 1: It Ain't me, somebody's. I've been given the BIFF Alman Act.
- 1:16Speaker 1: I say nothing else. Here's the thing. I've been accused
- 1:18Speaker 1: of being in the Illuminati and I'm gonna stop talking now.
- 1:22Speaker 1: So we're here typing bobby sports to get in on
- 1:25Speaker 1: the action and I have. I'm being told that I
- 1:31Speaker 1: can now say if you gamble alongside if you bet,
- 1:34Speaker 1: whatever it is, if you bet alongside us, I can
- 1:38Speaker 1: say more smiles and frowns. So I can't say bet
- 1:42Speaker 1: with me and you'll get rich, because I said that
- 1:46Speaker 1: as a joke like four or five games in, because
- 1:48Speaker 1: I was like wow, I've hit five games in a
- 1:51Speaker 1: row and I was like, gamble with me get rich,
- 1:54Speaker 1: as a joke, knowing that eventually was going to come
- 1:56Speaker 1: to an end, probably right then and then. I'm being
- 1:59Speaker 1: told by yours and Mike D that I cannot say that.
- 2:02Speaker 1: But if we did check, who did you ask? Just
- 2:05Speaker 1: an email. Yeah, email. Do you know who? You email?
- 2:08Speaker 1: Draft Kings Oa, is it just Mr draftkings at draftings
- 2:12Speaker 1: and so did you say verbatim? Can Bobby say this? Yeah,
- 2:15Speaker 1: I said exactly how you said it and they said
- 2:17Speaker 1: that is fine, okay, run alongside me, bet with me.
- 2:20Speaker 1: More smiles and frowns. Yea, I feel about that. The
- 2:23Speaker 1: more smiles and frowns. MERCH coming soon, you know. You know.
- 2:26Speaker 1: That's right around the corner, don't you? We're here, we're good.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Let's do the warm up question. All Right, what sport
- 2:32Speaker 1: would you be most competitive in? In the Olympics? They
- 2:37Speaker 1: say you got to play an Olympic sport or we
- 2:38Speaker 1: will kill you, and so you have to sign up
- 2:41Speaker 1: and it's the sport that you think, with your ability now,
- 2:44Speaker 1: you can actually do the best. Warm up question, Mike
- 2:48Speaker 1: d what do you got? Track and field? Give me
- 2:50Speaker 1: the marathon. Yeah, you would do really well, runner. I
- 2:53Speaker 1: could at least finish it. They do it in like
- 2:55Speaker 1: two hours. I couldn't do that, but I could compete.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Mike's the guy on Instagram poop post his runs, but
- 3:01Speaker 1: he posts running so much I don't get annoyed at him.
- 3:05Speaker 1: I start to root for him. Weirdly, like you could
- 3:07Speaker 1: do a Mike, Fourteen miles. You can do it. I
- 3:09Speaker 1: can't wait to see your next one, because usually have
- 3:11Speaker 1: someone posted run you're like, okay, shut up something, but
- 3:13Speaker 1: Mike does it so consistently and then he's like talking
- 3:16Speaker 1: about shoes, what's the brand that you wear? Do you
- 3:18Speaker 1: show brooks running shoes? And he's like Brooks, and so
- 3:21Speaker 1: I'm like, man, I don't want a marathon. I'M gonna
- 3:22Speaker 1: never mind, I'm not running for a second. So, yeah,
- 3:26Speaker 1: that's a good one for you, Eddie. Oh mine speed walking, man,
- 3:29Speaker 1: I can walk to the the good one like crazy, like
- 3:32Speaker 1: I could literally, I did walk. I walked from West
- 3:35Speaker 1: Virginia to Tennessee for charity. No problem, like I could
- 3:39Speaker 1: walk from nobody else's when you and I will, for example,
- 3:43Speaker 1: we want hiking in northern California, and you said to
- 3:46Speaker 1: me my foot still hurts from speed walking or from
- 3:49Speaker 1: walking from West Virginia to Tennessee. So there's a problem.
- 3:52Speaker 1: You hurt yourself. I think that's like planter fasciitists or something,
- 3:56Speaker 1: something that, if I really put some time into it,
- 3:57Speaker 1: can heal in shoes and the brooks. I need some
- 4:01Speaker 1: of those brookses. Kick off, Kevin. Mine would be rugby, probably.
- 4:06Speaker 1: You're a big dude. Some shoulders and going back to
- 4:08Speaker 1: the football days, like I just feel like I would
- 4:10Speaker 1: be able to acclimate easiest to rugby. How big old
- 4:13Speaker 1: boy are you? How big? Height and weight? Yea, what
- 4:16Speaker 1: do you think? I'm talking about? You six to twelve? Yeah,
- 4:28Speaker 1: do you still work out? Yeah, I mean you look
- 4:30Speaker 1: like it all the time. At it's gonna be days
- 4:31Speaker 1: a week, really? Yeah, I was gonna be mad if
- 4:33Speaker 1: he said No. It's like no, not at all. My God.
- 4:36Speaker 1: I invited him to pizza o the day and he
- 4:37Speaker 1: was like no, man, I don't eat that stuff. Are
- 4:39Speaker 1: you that dedicated? Uh, not very strict during the week,
- 4:43Speaker 1: I'm pretty good. Monday through Thursday and then Friday through
- 4:45Speaker 1: Sunday kind of goes down the drain. But it's a
- 4:47Speaker 1: you know, the balance your week is a little off.
- 4:51Speaker 1: That's other Monday through Friday or Sunday through Thursday. You've
- 4:54Speaker 1: you've given yourself an extra no, Monday through Thursday. Yeah,
- 4:58Speaker 1: like I said, balance. Yeah, because I think Kevin is
- 5:06Speaker 1: the biggest dude out of everyone here. Biggest for sure,
- 5:11Speaker 1: but WHO's more fit? Kevin or myself? I'd say Kevin. Wow,
- 5:15Speaker 1: I don't know, you're pretty fit. He's stronger because he's
- 5:19Speaker 1: a bigger dude, taller, and because I'm I just waded
- 5:22Speaker 1: myself to the day. I got back down. Big Deal
- 5:26Speaker 1: for me. I got there. Yeah, so I'm six one
- 5:31Speaker 1: one sixty nine right now. You don't drink alcohol, which
- 5:34Speaker 1: is huge. I haven't had sugar in three weeks. See,
- 5:36Speaker 1: if I didn't drink alcohol, would be a lot better.
- 5:39Speaker 1: You know, you cannot drink alcohol righted. I like alcohol, Boston, Kevin.
- 5:46Speaker 1: I'm just saying I like to have a good time. Kevin,
- 5:48Speaker 1: you like good I'm glad that you work hard for it.
- 5:50Speaker 1: Would have been extremely jealous. Yeah, Adam, what Olympic sport
- 5:56Speaker 1: would you be most competitive in? The only thing I
- 5:58Speaker 1: can think of his basketball, which is ridiculous. How would
- 6:02Speaker 1: you kill it? But I feel like I could contribute
- 6:03Speaker 1: on like national team, you know, I could be a
- 6:07Speaker 1: role player for one of those kind of teams. You know. Yeah,
- 6:09Speaker 1: bad I would go with badminton, and they're lightning fast.
- 6:15Speaker 1: But will you played Badman and p that's pretty good. Yeah,
- 6:17Speaker 1: me too. Don't take my game. I'm just saying, like
- 6:20Speaker 1: I was pretty good at bad mitten two man, I
- 6:22Speaker 1: was knocking around that shuttle cock. You know I'm saying.
- 6:25Speaker 1: You know what it's called. Yes, you picked that just
- 6:27Speaker 1: so you can say shuttle I actually didn't remember that
- 6:29Speaker 1: the shuttle Cock was in there until we started talking
- 6:31Speaker 1: about like. So, yeah, I would go badminton. Nothing flies,
- 6:36Speaker 1: but it doesn't fly like table tennis flies. Because I
- 6:39Speaker 1: thought maybe I can play paint pong, but then you
- 6:40Speaker 1: watch those guys. They're just like forrest gump crazy. But
- 6:45Speaker 1: I think bad minton would be my best chance to
- 6:48Speaker 1: actually make a difference. So there's your warm up and
- 6:51Speaker 1: now let's star at the sports part of the show
- 6:53Speaker 1: with the tittle tattle, stupid, the TAT tattle. Remember, you
- 7:02Speaker 1: have a whistle. Blow it if you disagree. Kick off, Kevin.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Question Number One. Al Right, at one on one. The
- 7:07Speaker 1: Jaguars sit atop the A F C south. Do you
- 7:09Speaker 1: think they're legit contenders to win that division? I guess
- 7:13Speaker 1: mostly yes, because everybody else's own one. To excuse me.
- 7:17Speaker 1: And there's the cults. Are probably still the favorite, even
- 7:21Speaker 1: though they suck. But are they? Can they? Yeah, sure,
- 7:24Speaker 1: Trevor Lawrence been playing pretty good, you know, especially considered
- 7:29Speaker 1: he's a Jaguar. Everything's relatively can they? Yes, but it's
- 7:33Speaker 1: not Tennessee, what are they gonna do? It's probably it's
- 7:37Speaker 1: probably not the Texans, but I don't want to write
- 7:39Speaker 1: them off completely yet because I feel like they have
- 7:40Speaker 1: a quarterback to that actually can get a lot better
- 7:43Speaker 1: this year. Lovey Smith is at least consistent and has
- 7:46Speaker 1: one before, and I think it's a conference that's there
- 7:50Speaker 1: for the taking for whomever. So when you ask that,
- 7:52Speaker 1: Ken Jacksonville, yeah, because the conference itself right now doesn't
- 7:56Speaker 1: seem like there's a lot of strength anywhere. It would
- 8:00Speaker 1: be cool. Jacksonal was good. I always like to see
- 8:02Speaker 1: teams that suck they're good again. Can they? Yes, if
- 8:06Speaker 1: I were picking right now, I still picked the colts
- 8:08Speaker 1: based on their head coach, their quarterback, their offensive line,
- 8:13Speaker 1: although they suck right now, but I'd probably picked the
- 8:17Speaker 1: colts to win it. Tennessee second, Jacksonville third and the
- 8:20Speaker 1: Texans fourth. But that whole thing you can get flipped quickly.
- 8:23Speaker 1: That's why I was gonna go on my whistle. Well,
- 8:25Speaker 1: you should say that before you put your mouth on it. Yeah,
- 8:28Speaker 1: and he's like talking. Yeah, I just think it's too early.
- 8:33Speaker 1: I mean, does everyone have a chance? Everyone in that
- 8:36Speaker 1: division have you blow a whistle to go. It's too
- 8:37Speaker 1: he it's the same. It's week three, so we can't
- 8:41Speaker 1: have an opinions. I believe that the tides. And the
- 8:45Speaker 1: one thing I disagree was you saying, like the titans,
- 8:46Speaker 1: what are they gonna do? They can do a lot.
- 8:48Speaker 1: They can figure stuff out, they can turn their whole
- 8:50Speaker 1: season around. I think the titans could still win this
- 8:52Speaker 1: division at O and two. Anybody's gonna have a chance
- 8:55Speaker 1: because the division winner is gonna be about five hundreds.
- 8:58Speaker 1: So it's still open. I said the same thing that
- 9:02Speaker 1: you but literally you just want to blow the freaking whistle.
- 9:04Speaker 1: That's already had it in my mouth. I was like,
- 9:06Speaker 1: just go with it. I think that. Thing think about
- 9:09Speaker 1: the titans that I do like is they have a
- 9:13Speaker 1: history of not performing and then having a coach that
- 9:17Speaker 1: can somehow adjust and performance some of these non performances
- 9:21Speaker 1: of m because players have been out. Honestly, you know,
- 9:23Speaker 1: Henry Goes Down, you've got to adjust. You've got a
- 9:26Speaker 1: J Brown when he goes down, Julio goes down, and
- 9:28Speaker 1: so they take a little step back before they could,
- 9:31Speaker 1: you know, fix it and go a step forward. But
- 9:33Speaker 1: they got all the players are going to have. They're
- 9:34Speaker 1: all health like right now. They're as strong as they're
- 9:38Speaker 1: going to be. They obviously can get better, and I
- 9:41Speaker 1: mean tailor to one. He gets hurt every season, so
- 9:43Speaker 1: that's just part of the season. Yeah, it's just like
- 9:47Speaker 1: what week, Taylor, there's your contracts, that you're getting hurt. Um,
- 9:51Speaker 1: it's wide open, because either they all suck or they're
- 9:53Speaker 1: all amazing. You just don't even know. But I'm taking
- 9:56Speaker 1: if I'm picking right now, let's just do this. I'll
- 9:57Speaker 1: go on record. I think the colts win the division.
- 9:59Speaker 1: I'd like to Titans Win because I'm a homer, but
- 10:01Speaker 1: I think the colts win the division, even though they're
- 10:03Speaker 1: owing to I would go with titans because I believe
- 10:05Speaker 1: in Rabel Kevin. Yeah, for that reason too, I'm right
- 10:09Speaker 1: there with you. I believe in titans. Adam, same all
- 10:12Speaker 1: the way. But you believe in rebel more than Frank Ryan,
- 10:15Speaker 1: who's yeah, I do. I think that. I think that's
- 10:19Speaker 1: the same. Honestly, I think the Achilles heel for the
- 10:22Speaker 1: for colts, is Matt Ryan, like he's gonna be what
- 10:25Speaker 1: actually wins games from them. Doubtful. I thought they brought
- 10:27Speaker 1: him in to put them. He's going to win games
- 10:31Speaker 1: for them. He's going to be the steady force. He's going.
- 10:34Speaker 1: He's going to let the playmakers, Pittman, Taylor, he's going
- 10:38Speaker 1: to make sure that they get the ball. He's not
- 10:40Speaker 1: gonna throw for four yards and five touchdowns, but he's
- 10:44Speaker 1: there to be pretty good and make sure the playmakers
- 10:47Speaker 1: can make plays and I think he knows his role
- 10:48Speaker 1: all right. Save the table. How about this, though? Yes,
- 10:50Speaker 1: I tape. I agree. When it's close, you always go
- 10:53Speaker 1: with the best quarterback. That's generally my role if it's close.
- 10:57Speaker 1: And let's look at the quarterbacks in that division. Tannehill, MH.
- 11:00Speaker 1: I would love for him to be better, but just
- 11:02Speaker 1: hasn't been. Uh. And also he's gotta be looking over
- 11:05Speaker 1: his shoulder. They didn't draft goals for nothing, not this
- 11:07Speaker 1: season but even for next year, in the year. So
- 11:10Speaker 1: let's UH. David's mills, possibly okay, but it's never actually
- 11:15Speaker 1: shown anything other than his rookie years. Some flashes last year.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Trevor Lawrence. More more optimism there than Davis Mills. Sure,
- 11:23Speaker 1: but who's the best quarterback in the division? It's Matt
- 11:26Speaker 1: Ryan by far because he has more years under his
- 11:29Speaker 1: belt and when and he's won and he's he's been
- 11:31Speaker 1: in the Super Bowl. Yeah, but they put up zero
- 11:36Speaker 1: points last weekend. Yeah, you know, they suck right now.
- 11:39Speaker 1: That's awful. Yeah, they stuck. Right now. I complained. But
- 11:42Speaker 1: or the Jaguars? Good, but yet to be now jumping.
- 11:46Speaker 1: All right, next one. Al Right, which team do you
- 11:48Speaker 1: think we'll have the biggest comeback hangover this week in
- 11:51Speaker 1: the dolphins versus the bills, jets versus the Bengals, or
- 11:54Speaker 1: cardinals against the rams? I think the jets are just
- 11:57Speaker 1: gonna get run, but I don't think it's going to
- 11:59Speaker 1: be because of a hangover. I just don't think there
- 12:00Speaker 1: is good. So the jets also beat the browns. Right,
- 12:05Speaker 1: let's not forget that. The brown still kind of suck.
- 12:08Speaker 1: You don't have a quarterback. Um. So I'm the jets
- 12:11Speaker 1: are gonna get run, but I don't think it's gonna
- 12:12Speaker 1: because of the hangover. I think it's gonna be because
- 12:15Speaker 1: they don't have the talent and Cincinnati's Cincinnati does, and
- 12:19Speaker 1: although they're owing too, I do think Cincinnati is just waiting.
- 12:24Speaker 1: I don't know what they're waiting for, but when they hit,
- 12:25Speaker 1: they're probably gonna hit. I still believe in Joe Burrow. Uh.
- 12:30Speaker 1: I think when it comes to the dolphins, it's that's
- 12:34Speaker 1: gonna be a fun game to watch. For a minute,
- 12:36Speaker 1: I have a bad feeling they're just gonna get out
- 12:37Speaker 1: talented as well. So I don't even know if it's
- 12:40Speaker 1: gonna be a hangover as because again, I hangover, I
- 12:42Speaker 1: would define as they crushed. They were feeling it. They
- 12:46Speaker 1: probably were a little too happy for a little too long,
- 12:48Speaker 1: and I probably did still too much press the feeling.
- 12:50Speaker 1: They're like we are real good. They a lot of
- 12:53Speaker 1: mental and emotional things coming with with a sports hangover.
- 12:57Speaker 1: So I think Miami gets run and I hate that.
- 13:00Speaker 1: I would love to see them win. It'd be awesome
- 13:02Speaker 1: to see Miami beat Buffalo. That would be cool. Yeah,
- 13:05Speaker 1: and the other game was cardinals and rams. Oh, that's
- 13:09Speaker 1: a good one. Yeah, yeah, I think the cardinals probably.
- 13:11Speaker 1: I think it's the cardinals, just based on my other
- 13:14Speaker 1: two answers. The Rams also have some wins to to
- 13:20Speaker 1: like collect to prove they're still legit as well. So
- 13:23Speaker 1: I think the cardinals and Kyler, and they've been celebrating that,
- 13:27Speaker 1: doing lots of interviews, lots of pressed Kylie even getting
- 13:29Speaker 1: hit in the face by that dude. You guys see
- 13:30Speaker 1: the club or the guy goes over to Kyler after
- 13:33Speaker 1: the Games, like yeah, over on the edge and a
- 13:35Speaker 1: dude goes boom, it hit him in the face from
- 13:37Speaker 1: around somebody else, and so they took the video and
- 13:41Speaker 1: they zoomed in on it, showed him and but it's
- 13:43Speaker 1: also kind of fuzzy and kind of blurry, and so
- 13:46Speaker 1: they investigate it and they're like, we can't tell if
- 13:47Speaker 1: you down o purpose or not because there were a
- 13:49Speaker 1: lot of people moving around. Yeah, there's an on field
- 13:51Speaker 1: um camera of it too, and there I didn't see
- 13:54Speaker 1: the on field camera. So there's a camera like literally
- 13:56Speaker 1: following Kyler, behind him and he's going up again. Yeah,
- 13:59Speaker 1: that's when I saw the wall Um, you know, slapping
- 14:01Speaker 1: the fans hands or whatever. I couldn't tell. It's like
- 14:04Speaker 1: you could say, you could argue for either one. The
- 14:05Speaker 1: guy just kind of throwing his arms out. He's just
- 14:07Speaker 1: a goofy white dude who's just like slinging his arms around,
- 14:10Speaker 1: and Kyler gets hit in the face. And so when
- 14:13Speaker 1: I saw it, they were like he gets in the face.
- 14:15Speaker 1: The first time I saw it I thought, but it
- 14:17Speaker 1: looks just accidental. But then they were like Oh, yeah,
- 14:20Speaker 1: hit and I'm like Oh did I miss something and
- 14:22Speaker 1: it was a fan? Yeah, and the guy wasn't wearing
- 14:24Speaker 1: a shirt from the raiders or anything, although it was
- 14:27Speaker 1: in Vegas, but he wasn't wear from what I could tell.
- 14:31Speaker 1: He wasn't like a loud painted raiders fan. No, it
- 14:34Speaker 1: didn't look I mean, he was just like you said,
- 14:36Speaker 1: just the guys. I don't know, I didn't even know
- 14:38Speaker 1: what he was doing, just slapping his hands around. Yeah,
- 14:40Speaker 1: it's like what I do too, his arms flailing about.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Just get excited about it. So I'M gonna go. Cardinals
- 14:45Speaker 1: are probably gonna have the biggest hangover all right. Next up,
- 14:48Speaker 1: the raiders and titans are both owing too, and they
- 14:50Speaker 1: face off this Sunday. Which team do you think is
- 14:53Speaker 1: more desperate for that win? I think the raiders are
- 14:56Speaker 1: the better team. I think the titans are probably a
- 14:59Speaker 1: bit more desperate it. I think if the raiders were
- 15:02Speaker 1: to lose this game, I don't think it would be
- 15:05Speaker 1: over for them in there and they're somebody spending the
- 15:08Speaker 1: whistle their teeth Um. So I think it's the titans.
- 15:14Speaker 1: If they lose this one man, the wheels could just
- 15:17Speaker 1: come off for a few weeks. Where the Raiders Renfro
- 15:20Speaker 1: Ben a concussion protocol all week. He had the two fumbles.
- 15:23Speaker 1: He was hurt. Um if he I hope he plays.
- 15:26Speaker 1: As of right now I haven't seen an update if
- 15:28Speaker 1: he's going to play or not. They haven't really established
- 15:32Speaker 1: a running game that we know they already have and
- 15:36Speaker 1: I think they could actually look at it as we're
- 15:39Speaker 1: still trying to get there with a new number one
- 15:42Speaker 1: wide wide receiver, with some new guys on defense. I
- 15:44Speaker 1: think the times are desperate because they got all. They
- 15:46Speaker 1: got all their guys. Now there they don't have a
- 15:48Speaker 1: wide receiver in woods. I mean tray lion is getting
- 15:51Speaker 1: the most looks and he's a rookie. Lookie. Yeah, and
- 15:54Speaker 1: you want that to happen about week six or so.
- 15:57Speaker 1: So the titans are the most desperate. The raiders are
- 16:00Speaker 1: right now, I think, the better team. I do think
- 16:02Speaker 1: the raiders will win the game and we'll just pray
- 16:05Speaker 1: that the rest of the a F that that division
- 16:07Speaker 1: keeps losing and some times you can stay in it.
- 16:10Speaker 1: So that that's what I think. Adam, my thoughts. The
- 16:13Speaker 1: Raiders Division is so tough they could like theoretically be
- 16:16Speaker 1: out of the running already just having two losses. I
- 16:19Speaker 1: would think the division is so tough, though, that everybody's
- 16:21Speaker 1: gonna be losing. I think it's the opposite of that,
- 16:23Speaker 1: because the chiefs are gonna lose because they got to
- 16:25Speaker 1: play the chargers and they gotta play the raiders and
- 16:27Speaker 1: they gotta so there's gonna be so many losses. They're
- 16:30Speaker 1: my teams, except for maybe the chiefs. Herbert's gonna be
- 16:33Speaker 1: out through four weeks or hurt three or four weeks
- 16:37Speaker 1: by out like he's not gonna be although even with
- 16:40Speaker 1: those that rib injury game, that fourth down throw money.
- 16:44Speaker 1: He was probably was like five yards straight to the ground.
- 16:47Speaker 1: The fourth down was money. I think I do understand
- 16:52Speaker 1: your point, but I think there's gonna be a lot
- 16:53Speaker 1: of losses in that division because they're all so good.
- 16:55Speaker 1: But even still like having two losses already. Those other
- 16:58Speaker 1: teams three, four loss is maybe. I mean they're also there.
- 17:02Speaker 1: They play each other, but they're still gonna have all
- 17:03Speaker 1: those other games. Are gonna dominate. It feels like they're
- 17:05Speaker 1: just like already behind the eight ball. If they don't
- 17:08Speaker 1: get on track this week, they could be really important.
- 17:10Speaker 1: They definitely would be behind, but because the division is
- 17:13Speaker 1: so competitive, I wouldn't freak out as much if I
- 17:16Speaker 1: were them, because they're good. The writers are actually good,
- 17:19Speaker 1: or at least my eyeballs think they're good, and they've lost.
- 17:23Speaker 1: They shouldn't have lost either. I mean both of the
- 17:25Speaker 1: Games they've lost. That's the cardinals game. What do they
- 17:30Speaker 1: definitely should have won that one. What do they think?
- 17:33Speaker 1: They yes, and then against the chargers, they actually played
- 17:36Speaker 1: really well and and they had a couple of chances
- 17:39Speaker 1: to win that game. Charges are really good, so they
- 17:41Speaker 1: didn't blow it, they just the writers could have won
- 17:43Speaker 1: that game. Next question. Alright, going to college here. which
- 17:46Speaker 1: underdog this week, with between the ranked matchups, do you
- 17:49Speaker 1: think has the best chance to win? Wake Forest First, Clemson,
- 17:52Speaker 1: Florida at Tennessee or your razorbacks at a and M so, Mike,
- 17:56Speaker 1: we hit me with the the alarm police. I probably
- 17:58Speaker 1: need to hear this now. So this alert here is
- 18:01Speaker 1: because I'm going to speak from bias. This is the
- 18:05Speaker 1: biased lad. Now are you saying underdogs? Because Arkansas is
- 18:10Speaker 1: the underdog, even though the rated hime, okay, God, spread here.
- 18:14Speaker 1: They're the underdog. So read me again the three so
- 18:17Speaker 1: I can tell you it's Arkansas. Go ahead wake forest
- 18:21Speaker 1: against Clemson. They won't. They won't win, although I've cursed
- 18:23Speaker 1: Debo and Clemson. Yeah, I've cursed them. You have a food,
- 18:26Speaker 1: all of them. Yes, I've cursed him, because Deabo wouldn't
- 18:28Speaker 1: come on the show. It was like, yeah, we're good.
- 18:30Speaker 1: I didn't say we'll do it in two weeks. Hey,
- 18:32Speaker 1: we can't find the time this week, like we were
- 18:35Speaker 1: past and I was like that's cool. He has absolutely
- 18:37Speaker 1: you don't have to come on the show. We're totally
- 18:39Speaker 1: cool with it. But I also can curse your team.
- 18:43Speaker 1: We've cursed them, yes, but they should run wake, but
- 18:46Speaker 1: I would like to see. Wait, I think they'll compete,
- 18:51Speaker 1: I guess. I mean wake almost got be at liberty. Right,
- 18:53Speaker 1: liberty puddle than one. I mean it comes down to
- 18:56Speaker 1: Djo right, good, sure, sure that at home? The other
- 19:03Speaker 1: game is Tennessee, Florida. Tennessee, Florida Canta be Tennessee. Tennessee
- 19:06Speaker 1: is too good. Florida is not near as good as
- 19:09Speaker 1: we once thought. For like four days. Kentucky is not
- 19:12Speaker 1: as good as we once thought, because Kentucky beat Florida.
- 19:15Speaker 1: That's their literal only win. Uh, it's Arkansas, Texas and
- 19:19Speaker 1: I expect Arkansas to win. I took I think almost
- 19:24Speaker 1: anybody else I would have said that, but it just
- 19:26Speaker 1: happens to be Arkansas. I think Arkansas can win by ten.
- 19:31Speaker 1: We have the worst past defense and Division One, division two,
- 19:36Speaker 1: division three, we're like you know, but you have to
- 19:39Speaker 1: look at those games, the Cincinnati game, they just came
- 19:41Speaker 1: out chunking because we jumped. Carolina came out chunking. We
- 19:45Speaker 1: had three of our starting secondary out. Um, I do
- 19:48Speaker 1: think Arkansas can win. If they lose, that sucks, but okay,
- 19:52Speaker 1: but I think they can also win by ten, twelve points.
- 19:55Speaker 1: So I'm gonna go with that one. Next one, all right.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Do you think Georgia has taken over Obama as the
- 19:59Speaker 1: new national our house? No, just because it's not not
- 20:02Speaker 1: not as much history. I think they're better, but unless
- 20:04Speaker 1: you're watching football right now in the last couple of years,
- 20:08Speaker 1: you don't really understand how good George has been. Alabama
- 20:11Speaker 1: has just been good for so freaking long and they
- 20:14Speaker 1: used to be really, really, really good thirty years ago.
- 20:17Speaker 1: And those are the two kinds of people that aren't us,
- 20:20Speaker 1: that are also watching. You know, they're not hearing and
- 20:23Speaker 1: seeing Georgia pounds schools in the SEC mid so I
- 20:27Speaker 1: mean you know mid skilled SEC schools. It's Alabama, just
- 20:31Speaker 1: based on most people aren't as into it as we are.
- 20:34Speaker 1: This is which is why we do a show. So
- 20:36Speaker 1: most people would think the Alabama. Most people think Michigan,
- 20:40Speaker 1: Notre Dame, because they've just been told that for so long.
- 20:44Speaker 1: Even if not, I'M gonna I'm gonna blow a half
- 20:46Speaker 1: whistle ahead because I was gonna go the opposite. But
- 20:50Speaker 1: I will say you make a pretty compelling argument as
- 20:52Speaker 1: far as the outside world of the football knowledgeable people.
- 20:56Speaker 1: So I think Georgia is gonna be there in five
- 20:59Speaker 1: years from now, but I don't think they're there yet. Yeah,
- 21:01Speaker 1: they just haven't done it long enough. I mean when
- 21:04Speaker 1: Mark Rick was the coach they didn't want national championship,
- 21:06Speaker 1: and that's the time, the last time they were really
- 21:08Speaker 1: good and they were consistently really good. They never won
- 21:10Speaker 1: a national championship. But with Bama you have the legacy
- 21:13Speaker 1: of Bear Bryant, you know, you have obviously Nick Saban,
- 21:17Speaker 1: you have gene stallings. So you have when you look back,
- 21:21Speaker 1: you have the history and you've got the now. And
- 21:24Speaker 1: even when you look at coaches. Nick Saban is the
- 21:27Speaker 1: poster child for someone who's done something for many years
- 21:31Speaker 1: at a very elite level. They compare any coach who
- 21:34Speaker 1: wins two or three championships on the road in Nick Saban.
- 21:37Speaker 1: So because of that brand, I think it's still Alabama.
- 21:40Speaker 1: But you know, if you were gonna go ranking powerhouses
- 21:44Speaker 1: by general public, I think you go Alabama. Notre Dame,
- 21:49Speaker 1: not yet, but close Ohio state, just because they've won it,
- 21:52Speaker 1: they've been there, they've had some, they've had urban Meyer,
- 21:56Speaker 1: they've had you could go through even their famous coaches.
- 21:58Speaker 1: I don't even know. I never wouldn't know what he
- 21:59Speaker 1: hates walked in the room, but I do know stories
- 22:03Speaker 1: of a good history is a big part of it. Oklahoma.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Here's the thing about Oklahoma. Yes, but I'M gonna put
- 22:10Speaker 1: on like seven or eight because they get close a
- 22:14Speaker 1: whole lot, but they can't win it over and over again,
- 22:19Speaker 1: at least not recently. Where Alabama has been able to
- 22:21Speaker 1: win a couple, Oklahoma would get there constantly. Um, if
- 22:26Speaker 1: you were an eighties kid that you're twenty in the eighties,
- 22:30Speaker 1: you for sure with the Oklahoma Nebraska as those. But
- 22:32Speaker 1: Nebraska has completely fallen off, but Oklahoma would still be
- 22:35Speaker 1: a top ten overall power to me right now. Is
- 22:37Speaker 1: Clemson there. Clemsons there would right below Georgia, because new
- 22:42Speaker 1: but really dominant Clemson didn't do much last year. They
- 22:46Speaker 1: only lost two games and they actually were really good,
- 22:49Speaker 1: but they lost early, so they were out of the conversation.
- 22:51Speaker 1: So I would go one Obama to Ohio state, and
- 22:55Speaker 1: I'm talking about not just us but even mild sports
- 22:57Speaker 1: fans that just catch up. Then I'M gonna go. I'M
- 23:01Speaker 1: gonna go like a Michigan and although they haven't been
- 23:05Speaker 1: great and they've lost a lot to Ohio state recently,
- 23:07Speaker 1: except for last year, Michigan, Notre Dame. And then I
- 23:12Speaker 1: put Georgian clemson right there together, and then teams like
- 23:15Speaker 1: Oklahoma right there to Texas too, even though they've sucked
- 23:19Speaker 1: for a while. They're so well known and that's a
- 23:21Speaker 1: big part of being a national powerhouse and when people
- 23:24Speaker 1: expect you to win every year, it's because they have
- 23:26Speaker 1: an expectation that you win. And the fact that Texas
- 23:28Speaker 1: still has an expectation is crazy. It's in a lot
- 23:32Speaker 1: of it. Two is it's their history, but it's also
- 23:36Speaker 1: they keep getting recruits and they just can't keep a girl.
- 23:40Speaker 1: You know, they're like something I do if I dude
- 23:42Speaker 1: friends who are just absolutely bonkers and they can't keep
- 23:44Speaker 1: a good girlfriend and they're like, man, these girls all suck. No,
- 23:47Speaker 1: you suck, Bro. What's the what's the common here? You,
- 23:51Speaker 1: you're the sucky one. You've had five great girlfriends, and
- 23:55Speaker 1: you know why? It's into every time. Because you suck. Man.
- 23:58Speaker 1: She this one was psycho. Oh, this one, man, her
- 24:01Speaker 1: mom was crazy. No, it's you, and so Texas is
- 24:05Speaker 1: going through Herman, Texas is going through Charlie, strong, Texas.
- 24:08Speaker 1: We could keep listen to them off. It's you, Bro,
- 24:11Speaker 1: it's your boosters, it's the culture, it's the Texas is.
- 24:15Speaker 1: It's you, Bro. They've ruined some. Yeah, you have one more.
- 24:19Speaker 1: That's okay. That's the tattle Tattoo. Stupidest name ever, the
- 24:25Speaker 1: TATTLE tattle. That's fun. Dude's a good one. That was
- 24:32Speaker 1: a good one. Good Talk. He slept about the girl.
- 24:36Speaker 1: That's a psycho. That's pretty good analogy I just came
- 24:38Speaker 1: up with right there. Sometimes, listen, nobody gets annoyed with
- 24:44Speaker 1: me like me. I don't even want, I don't like
- 24:46Speaker 1: to watch myself, but sometimes I'm like, Oh, I see
- 24:48Speaker 1: why you do this at a pretty high level. It's
- 24:50Speaker 1: pretty good. Make some merch off of that. UH, more
- 24:53Speaker 1: smiles of Frances. So I want to upbate everybody on
- 24:56Speaker 1: the Jerry Jones situation, where I was like are we
- 24:59Speaker 1: calling it Jerry Jones on this show? Right, come on,
- 25:02Speaker 1: of course it would be elite, and so I thought, well,
- 25:07Speaker 1: let me just go after it myself. And I don't.
- 25:09Speaker 1: But guess I don't know how to book. Guess I
- 25:10Speaker 1: don't know how to fix my car. Just hire people
- 25:12Speaker 1: fix me. If I had to learn how to fix
- 25:15Speaker 1: my car, I would now, but I didn't have to
- 25:17Speaker 1: learn either. Drove an old beater that would so close
- 25:21Speaker 1: to dying we wouldn't spend enough money to fix it
- 25:23Speaker 1: because it wasn't worth it. Or I got to a
- 25:25Speaker 1: point in my career where I would just buy a
- 25:26Speaker 1: car and have somebody fix it for me. Same here.
- 25:28Speaker 1: I never read a book a guest because no one
- 25:29Speaker 1: will come on my show anyway. I didn't have a
- 25:31Speaker 1: show to come on, so small and then all of
- 25:33Speaker 1: a sudden I'm jumping and now I'm like, just book
- 25:36Speaker 1: me a guest. Kevin Mike, here's what I want, and
- 25:39Speaker 1: now you guys have all the skills to do that.
- 25:40Speaker 1: But I thought I'M gonna do it, I'm gonna I'm
- 25:41Speaker 1: gonna lay out there and I send a note and say, Hey,
- 25:44Speaker 1: Dallas cowboys organization. In case you missed this. Seven is
- 25:47Speaker 1: bobby bones. I got a show on USA network, got
- 25:49Speaker 1: a show on that Geo, got a radio show on
- 25:51Speaker 1: like a d five cities. I've got a honorary doctor
- 25:54Speaker 1: at the University of Arkansas. I'm a booster. I Have
- 25:57Speaker 1: Two New York Times. But I was really laying it
- 25:59Speaker 1: out there so they would respect or I feel like
- 26:04Speaker 1: I actually had a platform that they could trust. So
- 26:08Speaker 1: I said, I'm not trying to got you, I'd like
- 26:10Speaker 1: talk to Mr Jones about a couple of things, to cowboys,
- 26:12Speaker 1: and you know where he comes from. And that's all
- 26:15Speaker 1: I talked about at two updates. Oh, come on, come on,
- 26:18Speaker 1: do I have these printed out? Mike? Okay, because they
- 26:22Speaker 1: emailed him to Mike this morning. You kind of had
- 26:23Speaker 1: a little half smile there. Well, because it's only half
- 26:26Speaker 1: smile worthy, but it is worthy smile worthy. More smiles
- 26:31Speaker 1: than frowns. Okay, I got this email back after we
- 26:35Speaker 1: talked about it on Wednesday. Bobby, I appreciate your reaching out.
- 26:39Speaker 1: I've added our STP of communications, Tad Carper, to this
- 26:41Speaker 1: reply and we will check out Mr Jones availability for
- 26:44Speaker 1: your request. Thank you, Scotty. That sounds very positive. And
- 26:50Speaker 1: so got another email. Email too. This is from Tad.
- 26:56Speaker 1: Great Name. Thanks again, bobby. Would be a pleasure to
- 26:58Speaker 1: work this out. What's your forms with this run on?
- 27:01Speaker 1: Tad Carper, Senior Vice President Communications. Interesting my response. Greetings.
- 27:09Speaker 1: It would run on the National Radio Show and the
- 27:10Speaker 1: sports podcast both. It will also be featured in the
- 27:13Speaker 1: radio show podcast feed and that feed does between twelve
- 27:16Speaker 1: and fourteen million streames of months. Also on social media,
- 27:18Speaker 1: with clips at bobby bones show and featured at Mr
- 27:22Speaker 1: Bobby bones combined, about two million followers on social have
- 27:24Speaker 1: a good day, guys. Big Period and no lies. By
- 27:28Speaker 1: the way, it's all true. No lies. Tad hit me
- 27:32Speaker 1: back a last night. Great Info and big numbers. Back
- 27:38Speaker 1: at you soon ish on this. Tad Carper, Senior Vice
- 27:42Speaker 1: President Communications. Hey, look, it may not happen, but this
- 27:49Speaker 1: would be so cool. Yeah, let me check your email,
- 27:51Speaker 1: so if there's a yeah, keep keep you know scrolling down, refresh, refresh. HM, Dad, no, nothing.
- 27:58Speaker 1: I'm Tad, but I do think we got a shot
- 28:01Speaker 1: at this with Jerry Jones. Fingers crossed. That'd be pretty cool.
- 28:04Speaker 1: And then what you do, this is the story of
- 28:06Speaker 1: doing any sort of podcast or interview show. When you
- 28:09Speaker 1: get we've got enough great guests. I mean rich Eisen's
- 28:11Speaker 1: coming up, which is super cool to talk to him.
- 28:13Speaker 1: But when you get Jerry Jones, then you pitch yourself
- 28:16Speaker 1: to other owners and be like, we just had Jerry
- 28:18Speaker 1: Jones on, you know, would you like to come on?
- 28:19Speaker 1: And they're like wait, Jerry Jones on? Well then I
- 28:21Speaker 1: definitely want to be on. Let's go, Baby Robert Kraft. Goodness.
- 28:26Speaker 1: So Jerry Jones will be awesome because it's Jerry Jones,
- 28:30Speaker 1: the most famous sports owner in all of the NFL.
- 28:33Speaker 1: Maybe sports him and Cuban. Cubans right there too? Oh
- 28:36Speaker 1: for sure. Yeah, Cuban recently because of the things like
- 28:39Speaker 1: Shark Tank, Jerry Jones, because he's Jerry freaking Jones. But yeah,
- 28:44Speaker 1: I'd be awesome. Um, you see where, you know, the
- 28:46Speaker 1: sons are. He's having to give up the sons and
- 28:48Speaker 1: the Mercury Um and so one of the buyers they
- 28:52Speaker 1: think would be Jeff Bezos. He's one of the people.
- 28:54Speaker 1: I think he's second up. I saw odds and who
- 28:58Speaker 1: they thought would actually be the person to buy the
- 29:01Speaker 1: NBA and W NBA teams, and Jeff Bezos was second up.
- 29:04Speaker 1: He's a sportsman. Well, we thought he was going to
- 29:05Speaker 1: buy the broncos. Listen, he could buy the whole nfl
- 29:08Speaker 1: if he wants, just switch players up every week and
- 29:13Speaker 1: do what he wants to do. That'd be pretty cool,
- 29:16Speaker 1: it wouldn't it be so cool to own a team? Yeah,
- 29:19Speaker 1: I mean, I say that and then I'd be like
- 29:22Speaker 1: the cons and be like, you know, I don't want
- 29:23Speaker 1: to spend eighteen on the new new jerseys, and I said,
- 29:26Speaker 1: all of a sudden, get real cheap. Oh yeah, I
- 29:28Speaker 1: didn't think about all that. I know that you got
- 29:30Speaker 1: a face stuff. It's like getting a nice car, my
- 29:32Speaker 1: first Nice Card. Well, I don't want to fix and
- 29:33Speaker 1: I don't want to get a repair. I just keep
- 29:35Speaker 1: driving because you're like, I want to spend the money
- 29:37Speaker 1: to keep this thing up, but it would cost a
- 29:39Speaker 1: lot too. But it'd be so cool to own a team.
- 29:42Speaker 1: It would just be so cool to be a minority owner.
- 29:44Speaker 1: How about that? Sure, there you go. Then you can
- 29:46Speaker 1: get it any time. Does it count to be like
- 29:48Speaker 1: one of those shareholders like the packers? No, that's because
- 29:51Speaker 1: that's a bunch of garbage. Okay, it's a bunch of
- 29:53Speaker 1: they just ripped you off, but it is cool because
- 29:55Speaker 1: you do feel even closer like part of the group. Yeah,
- 29:58Speaker 1: there you go. So that's the date on Jerry Jones.
- 30:01Speaker 1: Now it's time for Adam stats. Adam stats, Adam halfs,
- 30:08Speaker 1: all year's steps for you, Adam. Alright, what you got?
- 30:14Speaker 1: So you're talking a while ago about how you like
- 30:15Speaker 1: underdogs and how when underdogs come up, everybody loves that.
- 30:19Speaker 1: Everybody loves an underdog story. Well, third, that's your stat.
- 30:22Speaker 1: Third that's where the Kansas Jayhawks find themselves in scoring offense,
- 30:26Speaker 1: in the total FBS, which is Button Nan thinking about
- 30:30Speaker 1: Kansas being good, even the jury is still so far out,
- 30:35Speaker 1: and if they're actually good. But they've been playing not nobody.
- 30:38Speaker 1: They played West Virginia and Houston, Um, which he still
- 30:42Speaker 1: supposed to be good, Heston, was supposed to be get.
- 30:43Speaker 1: They were ranked Um and uh and they got wins
- 30:46Speaker 1: against both those schools in their their third and total
- 30:48Speaker 1: scoring offense in the FBS. I think that they are
- 30:51Speaker 1: pretty good. That's about as toughest schedule as anybody else
- 30:54Speaker 1: has played. Honestly, just two pretty good games. You may
- 30:58Speaker 1: look this up, because I never know Adams gonna tell
- 31:00Speaker 1: us about stats, but maybe two thousand seven. That might
- 31:04Speaker 1: have been the year that Kansas was playing for the
- 31:06Speaker 1: big twelve championship. Two Thousand Eight, so two thousand. It
- 31:11Speaker 1: was the two thousand seven season and they played in
- 31:12Speaker 1: two thousand or just straight whatever was I remember being
- 31:15Speaker 1: about twenty seven. I think you're seven. o eight was
- 31:17Speaker 1: their last winning season and then oh seven was the
- 31:19Speaker 1: year they competed for the title. It was, I believe,
- 31:23Speaker 1: Missouri in Kansas for the big twelve championship. Kansas used
- 31:29Speaker 1: to be good for a minute. It's the it was
- 31:30Speaker 1: the weirdest thing. Um, I hope they're good again. The same.
- 31:34Speaker 1: I hope they're good and the fact that they've won
- 31:36Speaker 1: two quality games that's pretty cool. Like all right, there's
- 31:39Speaker 1: Adam stats. Go ahead, Adam stats. That's Adam stats. He's
- 31:44Speaker 1: got those stats for that's that's the best one. Do
- 31:52Speaker 1: you have an NFL one coming up to Adam? Do
- 31:53Speaker 1: you have one for a college NFL? Uh No, I
- 31:56Speaker 1: just the answer is noner. Here was the stat one
- 31:59Speaker 1: step once. Well, that's I had another college stat, but
- 32:02Speaker 1: but I was also again Adam half all the years.
- 32:09Speaker 1: Thats three years. Thanks for that Awesome Jingle, Eddie. Twelve,
- 32:16Speaker 1: twelve percent. I find myself obsessed kind of with the
- 32:19Speaker 1: transfer portal and what it's done for college football. Twelve percent.
- 32:22Speaker 1: That's the percentage of total fbs players that hit the
- 32:26Speaker 1: portal last year. Twelve of everybody. So like every scholarship roster,
- 32:32Speaker 1: about ten and a half of those dudes are going
- 32:34Speaker 1: somewhere else, and you know, about thirty there we're going.
- 32:36Speaker 1: I'm getting a portal. Yeah, that's I'm gonna into portal.
- 32:39Speaker 1: I think gets play them getting to portal and then
- 32:40Speaker 1: they're like, no one's good else, no one else want
- 32:44Speaker 1: to drop down? I'm getting the portal. Uh, what else?
- 32:47Speaker 1: The the other crazy thing about that only half of
- 32:49Speaker 1: those only half of those players, are finding new places.
- 32:53Speaker 1: So like a lot of those guys are like not
- 32:55Speaker 1: even playing football anymore. It's really said they're not going
- 32:57Speaker 1: to college and they're they're kind of just completely out
- 32:59Speaker 1: of the game. Um, my thought really is that the
- 33:03Speaker 1: transfer port has actually been good for college football. There
- 33:05Speaker 1: was so much like gloom and doom and so much
- 33:07Speaker 1: boomerism about Um how how it was gonna ruin the
- 33:10Speaker 1: game and people were gonna Um, people are just gonna
- 33:14Speaker 1: go and do their own thing, free agents and all
- 33:15Speaker 1: that Um. But I think we're I think we're seeing
- 33:18Speaker 1: maybe something different. Do you think that that that the
- 33:21Speaker 1: transfer portal has been good for the actual product on
- 33:23Speaker 1: the field? I'm gonna say yeah. I mean I think
- 33:26Speaker 1: you see teams on an example like Missouri State last week,
- 33:29Speaker 1: Uh Cincinnati, who has been a good program. They lose
- 33:33Speaker 1: their quarterback. These schools can grab kids that maybe didn't
- 33:38Speaker 1: develop and they went to a small school. Maybe we're overlooked.
- 33:42Speaker 1: I think that's great. If a coach can lead by
- 33:44Speaker 1: the way, players to be able to leave first of
- 33:45Speaker 1: all say that. Uh So it gives kids a shot
- 33:48Speaker 1: to play at a bigger level, to be seen more,
- 33:50Speaker 1: and it gives people who kids, who aren't getting to
- 33:52Speaker 1: play a shot to drop down if they just want
- 33:54Speaker 1: to play, to go to a smaller school and play.
- 33:56Speaker 1: So it works great in both ways. Yeah, it's annoying
- 34:00Speaker 1: at times, but I mean coaches have to always recruit, now,
- 34:03Speaker 1: not just high school kids. They have ever thrown teams
- 34:05Speaker 1: to make sure they stay. I'm sure there's some some
- 34:08Speaker 1: shady stuff happening and there's some tampering and but that
- 34:11Speaker 1: was gonna happen one way or another, if not this way,
- 34:14Speaker 1: in other ways, like where there's money, there's always corruption. Somehow.
- 34:19Speaker 1: It doesn't have to be. I like it. I like it.
- 34:22Speaker 1: I'm trying to find a reason I don't. I like it.
- 34:24Speaker 1: I Like Inn I l. But to announce another one
- 34:26Speaker 1: myself a couple the one I'm working on right now
- 34:30Speaker 1: that I've we got the contract done, and I can
- 34:32Speaker 1: say this, there's a kid that we had on our
- 34:34Speaker 1: morning show who helped the help the lady on the
- 34:36Speaker 1: side of the road. He plays at Iowa and so
- 34:40Speaker 1: I was like, Hey, let's do an I l was
- 34:41Speaker 1: like I'm meant to it. Let's go and I email
- 34:45Speaker 1: to all the Iowa talked to the Iowa in I
- 34:48Speaker 1: l compliance guy will say that he talk to him
- 34:51Speaker 1: for a while. I went and talk to Zack. I
- 34:53Speaker 1: just can never get ahold of Zack. I tacked him
- 34:54Speaker 1: all the time and I said he's not an answering. Well,
- 34:57Speaker 1: I said, hey, man, email mom sin. He said, Hey,
- 35:01Speaker 1: just call me or text me. I don't want to
- 35:02Speaker 1: call anybody. I don't call you guys. So I texted
- 35:05Speaker 1: like hey, man, like four days later he was like sorry, man,
- 35:09Speaker 1: I just saw this. Yeah, that, since I got awesome planned.
- 35:11Speaker 1: I was like, Dude, did you die? He goes, man,
- 35:12Speaker 1: it's being a college athlete. You're just always busy, and
- 35:14Speaker 1: I'm like, let me show you my schedule. Yea, what
- 35:16Speaker 1: you're talking about? Yeah, he's looking at his phone. Yeah, yeah,
- 35:20Speaker 1: what do you like to free money? So we're trying
- 35:25Speaker 1: to get that done. But I do have another one
- 35:27Speaker 1: coming up soon that I'll announce, and I like D
- 35:29Speaker 1: N I. I think if somebody two desks down in
- 35:32Speaker 1: the classroom can get money from Instagram, from a store
- 35:37Speaker 1: down the road, a football player can't, just because they're
- 35:39Speaker 1: really good at football. Of course I can. They should
- 35:41Speaker 1: be able to do that. Um, okay, that's Adam stats.
- 35:45Speaker 1: Adam stats. That's Adam stats. He's got those stats before you.
- 35:54Speaker 1: All right, yeah, you want to talk about the parlay? Yeah, pen,
- 35:58Speaker 1: you don't need a pen, just digital body. Go back
- 36:00Speaker 1: to listen, to remember whistles brought to you by draft
- 36:04Speaker 1: kings sports book, an official sports betting partner of the NFL.
- 36:07Speaker 1: You just go download the draft kings APP, use the
- 36:10Speaker 1: Code Bobby Sports and get in on the action right now.
- 36:13Speaker 1: Here's my parlay of the week. I mean, you can
- 36:14Speaker 1: bet it if you want. Eventually it's just not gonna hit.
- 36:19Speaker 1: It can't. This is probably week it doesn't hit, I'll
- 36:21Speaker 1: be honest. But now everybody's gonna bet it and I'm
- 36:23Speaker 1: gonna feel I'm gonna feel like a loser when it
- 36:25Speaker 1: doesn't hit and you're gonna be disappointed in me. My
- 36:27Speaker 1: success is making me feel like a loser. That's not
- 36:30Speaker 1: how I should work. There are no SEC games in
- 36:33Speaker 1: this parlay this week. They're no. I was looking at
- 36:36Speaker 1: all the games. I just wasn't wildly attracted to many
- 36:40Speaker 1: of them, which I usually am, which used I'm looking down.
- 36:44Speaker 1: I'm like swing, that's what happens, and I'm like that's
- 36:48Speaker 1: my and I save it. Here are my two games.
- 36:51Speaker 1: First Up, Baylor and Iowa state. Baylor plus two and
- 36:53Speaker 1: a half, and I would take Baylor plus one. Even
- 36:58Speaker 1: if you get any more than that, awesome too. Baylor's
- 37:00Speaker 1: two and one. They lost to B Y u. That
- 37:03Speaker 1: was in a double overtime game. Ioways stayed is three
- 37:06Speaker 1: and Oh Iowa state, and Mike, you may pull up
- 37:09Speaker 1: their schedule. I'm going straight from memory here, because I
- 37:11Speaker 1: looked at it all a bunch of these games to
- 37:13Speaker 1: figure out who I wanted to bet. Iowa state has
- 37:16Speaker 1: beat Iowa. That was like a ten to seven game.
- 37:19Speaker 1: Other than that, they really haven't played anybody. They do
- 37:22Speaker 1: have a good team, but it's a projected good team
- 37:26Speaker 1: and they haven't really been blowing people out of the water.
- 37:30Speaker 1: So I'm going Baylor because I know they're good and
- 37:35Speaker 1: I feel like giving Baylor points. You're gonna give me
- 37:39Speaker 1: points with the team I feel is better, even though
- 37:42Speaker 1: I do think it's on the road. So I'M gonna
- 37:45Speaker 1: go on Baylor plus two and a half because I
- 37:47Speaker 1: think they're mad. It's what can you tell me, Mike? Yeah,
- 37:54Speaker 1: I always say who they played? Missouri, okay, nobody. I
- 37:57Speaker 1: always state, like you said, they played Iowa, yes, and
- 38:00Speaker 1: in Ohio. Oh Yeah, Ohio of Miami, and people writing
- 38:04Speaker 1: like that was a big game, like there's a heck
- 38:06Speaker 1: of the game versus Ohio, Miami, of Ohio No, just Ohio,
- 38:10Speaker 1: just Ohio even worse. Yeah, because I put them on
- 38:14Speaker 1: N C double a football and I picked them sometimes
- 38:17Speaker 1: thinking it was Ohio's state. So I'm going Baylor plus
- 38:20Speaker 1: two and a half, just because it's kind of like
- 38:23Speaker 1: dance with the devil, you know, and I know Baylor's good,
- 38:25Speaker 1: I have no idea about it. I always state because
- 38:27Speaker 1: they haven't played anybody. Next up, I got oh you
- 38:30Speaker 1: minus twelve and a half and oh you playing. Can't state.
- 38:35Speaker 1: And here's why I think that Oklahoma is actually gonna
- 38:39Speaker 1: beat them by more than twelve and a half. I
- 38:40Speaker 1: think it's gotten a little more real for Oklahoma and
- 38:43Speaker 1: that they're just not a really good team. I think
- 38:46Speaker 1: now that Dylan Gabriels and the heisman conversation, I think
- 38:50Speaker 1: now there are other things on their mind other than
- 38:52Speaker 1: just winning games during the conference. I think they see
- 38:54Speaker 1: a bigger, bigger picture now. I think you're just a
- 38:57Speaker 1: bit more focused. When you have exact focus, not just
- 39:00Speaker 1: let's just go blow them out. I think when you're
- 39:03Speaker 1: going with real tiny goals, I think that's very helpful
- 39:09Speaker 1: and and I think they're going to really kick the
- 39:11Speaker 1: crap out of Kansas State. So I'm going Oklahoma minus
- 39:15Speaker 1: twelve and a half. I will tell you this, though,
- 39:18Speaker 1: that most of my Oklahoma betting because I do mostly
- 39:21Speaker 1: just so I can root for them alongside my wife,
- 39:23Speaker 1: because mostly I won't root for Oklahoma. I grew up
- 39:25Speaker 1: from Arkansas. We didn't like Oklahoma, but my wife is
- 39:27Speaker 1: a big Ou fan. I have people that I know
- 39:29Speaker 1: they ou, athletic, writer, director now. So I'll bet on Oklahoma.
- 39:32Speaker 1: Just want to root for them like a forest, and
- 39:35Speaker 1: they don't. But they don't win a lot. They don't
- 39:37Speaker 1: cover a lot. That worries me a little bit. Last
- 39:39Speaker 1: week they look like they found something last week and
- 39:41Speaker 1: I bet them last week when they took it to Nebraska,
- 39:46Speaker 1: and I think but they have specific goals in mind
- 39:49Speaker 1: now and I think those small specific goals will help
- 39:52Speaker 1: the actual big goal, just winning games by a lot.
- 39:54Speaker 1: So is anyone angry in that game? Well, here's thinking about.
- 39:57Speaker 1: Oh you they're angry that people are going now is
- 39:59Speaker 1: a luke against Nebraska. Okay, I knew there's what he's saying.
- 40:04Speaker 1: That was a fluke against Nebraska. Yeah, I'm giving them
- 40:10Speaker 1: bulleted board material, just a little. Put it up and
- 40:11Speaker 1: beat him. Uh. So those are my it's a two
- 40:14Speaker 1: game parlay. This time it's Baylor plus two and a half. Oh,
- 40:17Speaker 1: you minus twelve and a half. Betted at your own peril.
- 40:19Speaker 1: More smiles and frowns. Yeah, yeah, that was better than
- 40:22Speaker 1: better at Joan Peril. More smiles and frowns. Listeners that
- 40:25Speaker 1: don't have draft king sports book APP can download it

- 40:50Speaker 1: In New York called eight seven seven, eight, hope and
- 40:52Speaker 1: Y are text hope and y four six seven, three
- 40:54Speaker 1: six nine. So okay, there you go. Those are my
- 40:57Speaker 1: two picks. I think we feel pretty good. Um, we're
- 41:00Speaker 1: gonna go now. And here from rich Eisen, who, for me,
- 41:03Speaker 1: I knew rich as an ESPN sports and anchor. Super Cool.
- 41:07Speaker 1: Second one, it's pretty cool. Yeah, he's a he's a legend.
- 41:10Speaker 1: We've had some really cool people and Jay Glazer on Monday.
- 41:13Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, amazing. Yeah, we just did it. It's awesome.
- 41:15Speaker 1: He was awesome. And so you guys talk to rich Eisen,
- 41:18Speaker 1: who I'm a big fan of. I listened to him
- 41:20Speaker 1: constantly even now. I mean it's not somebody I'm like, man,
- 41:23Speaker 1: back in the day he was cool. Like I'm still
- 41:24Speaker 1: a rich Eisen guy. So super cool to talk to
- 41:27Speaker 1: rich and we're gonna go to that right now. Rich,
- 41:30Speaker 1: I was in California this past weekend for a wedding,
- 41:32Speaker 1: and now that you live out there full time, do
- 41:35Speaker 1: you still appreciate how early you get to watch games?
- 41:37Speaker 1: Nine am I was watching Oklahoma Nebraska. Well, Bobby Uh, look,
- 41:41Speaker 1: these are first class problems. Um, that where I think
- 41:45Speaker 1: you're you're leading me into to start our chat. Um,
- 41:49Speaker 1: because of the time difference. Um, I host NFL Game
- 41:54Speaker 1: Day Mornings. Four hour pregame show up to the one
- 41:56Speaker 1: o'clock Eastern Times out here in Los Angeles. That's a
- 42:00Speaker 1: six AM UH kick from my show of four am
- 42:03Speaker 1: wake Um requires lots of coffee, lots of job and
- 42:07Speaker 1: lots of energy, lots of Gumption, but thankfully I've got
- 42:11Speaker 1: those UH still in my mid fifties, or soon to
- 42:14Speaker 1: be mid fifties, and spades. So it is great. Though
- 42:18Speaker 1: it is amazing that the Sunday night game over at
- 42:20Speaker 1: ate something. The best part about it, though, is, to
- 42:22Speaker 1: be honest with you, during baseball season. Um, I've got
- 42:26Speaker 1: an eleven year old boy who's really into baseball and
- 42:29Speaker 1: if he lived on the east coast he wouldn't see
- 42:31Speaker 1: a world series game past the third inning, and here
- 42:34Speaker 1: in Los Angeles he sees the whole damn thing. So
- 42:37Speaker 1: that's pretty cool out here. Yeah, it's difficult if I'm
- 42:40Speaker 1: in California doing anything television wise. I have to get
- 42:42Speaker 1: up at one am to do my morning show because
- 42:44Speaker 1: it's six eastern and so it's just brut is brutal.
- 42:48Speaker 1: So I enjoyed the early games on the West Coast.
- 42:51Speaker 1: Have you, because I watched your show. You're the reason
- 42:53Speaker 1: I got the Roku APP. I'm being honest. I'm a massive, yeah,
- 42:56Speaker 1: massive fan and have been for a whole long time
- 42:58Speaker 1: and I watch you. If I in your podcast. Each
- 43:01Speaker 1: hour is loaded separately, so I try to. I'm a
- 43:03Speaker 1: big Fan. If you can't tell, I know all the
- 43:04Speaker 1: nuances of the rich eyes and show, Um, but I
- 43:07Speaker 1: have the ROKU APP that I can watch you guys on.
- 43:10Speaker 1: You've had to transition a bit with all the new technologies.
- 43:14Speaker 1: You know, you have an eleven year old son too.
- 43:15Speaker 1: Does he help you stay on what to? What's what's called?
- 43:20Speaker 1: And Eleven and UH and a nine and they are Um.
- 43:25Speaker 1: It's amazing because back when I was a kid, you know,
- 43:29Speaker 1: back when I was a kid, Um, it would be
- 43:32Speaker 1: what's on channels to four and seven right. Uh. Now
- 43:37Speaker 1: they know what's on an APP and they get pissed
- 43:39Speaker 1: at me when I when I go to try and
- 43:42Speaker 1: search for anything on the old ROKU device. They're like, Dad,
- 43:46Speaker 1: that's on paramount plus, Dad, that's on, it's on Disney,
- 43:49Speaker 1: like and they and and they say it with such scorn. Um,
- 43:52Speaker 1: I don't understand it. Um, but that's you know, I
- 43:56Speaker 1: take it, I absorb it and I try to get
- 43:58Speaker 1: better every day. That's why I have this on my
- 44:00Speaker 1: desk every day. I don't know if anybody's ever gonna
- 44:03Speaker 1: try to take this away from me. The best at ever,
- 44:05Speaker 1: but you know that's I'm in my hopefully, uh, fourteenth
- 44:11Speaker 1: consecutive year of that title run that I'm on. You're
- 44:14Speaker 1: a big Michigan Guy. I'm a big Arkansas Guy, and
- 44:16Speaker 1: sometimes people will tell me, hey, chill with the Arkansas stuff.
- 44:18Speaker 1: Do you ever get notes or did you ever get
- 44:19Speaker 1: notes going hey man, you're talking a little too much
- 44:21Speaker 1: about Michigan. Um, no, I haven't gotten that, but I
- 44:25Speaker 1: do get some looks sometimes from my guys here on
- 44:27Speaker 1: the show, like when I had Jim Harbaugh on last week.
- 44:30Speaker 1: I did since a little bit of like, okay, break
- 44:34Speaker 1: it up, get a room type stuff, like from my
- 44:37Speaker 1: colleagues here. And and to be honest with you, you
- 44:39Speaker 1: know it is uh it again to be completely straightforward
- 44:45Speaker 1: with you or not, like I wasn't in the last
- 44:47Speaker 1: few minutes. But Um, that look. I mean sure, Michigan,
- 44:53Speaker 1: when I talk about Michigan, it is still just of
- 44:57Speaker 1: interest to a specific region, a specific conference there. May
- 45:01Speaker 1: you know, I could point out that we are the
- 45:03Speaker 1: largest alumni base on planet earth from the United States
- 45:08Speaker 1: and so, Um, we are a significant bunch, but it
- 45:12Speaker 1: is still somewhat provincial talk about that, but I'm assuming
- 45:16Speaker 1: you're tuning into the show to hear what what makes
- 45:18Speaker 1: me tick, what makes me really fired up, what what
- 45:22Speaker 1: gets my goat? WHAT GETS ME INTERESTED? Um, and that's
- 45:26Speaker 1: one of them. You know, I'm I've been very fortunate
- 45:28Speaker 1: to do what I do for a living. The I
- 45:29Speaker 1: do have a no cheering in the press box mentality
- 45:32Speaker 1: for the last twenty five years. But there are still
- 45:35Speaker 1: things that personally get me fired up and do emotionally
- 45:38Speaker 1: affect me sports wise. That makes me wonder if I'm
- 45:42Speaker 1: if I'm if I'm off Kilter, and that's Yankee Baseball
- 45:44Speaker 1: in Michigan Sports. So those are the two things that
- 45:47Speaker 1: still get me out of my chair. Do you ever
- 45:49Speaker 1: feel like you're getting too close to the Sun at times?
- 45:52Speaker 1: Because I felt too like I've been so involved in
- 45:54Speaker 1: the program, like I don't want to hate a coach
- 45:56Speaker 1: because then I'll feel slightly different about the team, so
- 45:59Speaker 1: I how to keep a somewhat healthy distance. Yeah, I mean,
- 46:03Speaker 1: I I hear you on that, like I do. Sometimes
- 46:08Speaker 1: I don't want to interview hardball because I don't want
- 46:11Speaker 1: to interrupt him. You know, and trust me, I'm very
- 46:15Speaker 1: glad they beat the crap out of Yukon fifty nine nothing,
- 46:18Speaker 1: even though I am friendly with Jim Mora Um, but
- 46:21Speaker 1: I didn't. I never want them to lose the week
- 46:23Speaker 1: after I've spoken to him. I am that sort of,
- 46:27Speaker 1: I guess, superstitious type guy. Well, you don't want to
- 46:30Speaker 1: get like the mannings when you know that, because everybody
- 46:32Speaker 1: was going on the manning cast. They were like, Oh,
- 46:34Speaker 1: it's the curse of the mannings and all of a
- 46:36Speaker 1: sudden he loses after talking. Do you God forbid? There's
- 46:39Speaker 1: some sort of eyes and curst the University of Michigan.
- 46:41Speaker 1: Now it's the exact opposite. We call it the rich
- 46:44Speaker 1: eyes and show bump around here. Bobby people get nominated
- 46:47Speaker 1: for things when they come on this show, their show
- 46:49Speaker 1: gets picked up, you know, for another season. That's the
- 46:53Speaker 1: way we we try to flip it glass half full
- 46:56Speaker 1: around here. I want to talk about getting the call,
- 46:58Speaker 1: like the big call. You know, I just knowing your history,
- 47:02Speaker 1: you know, just being, you know, a sports anchor and
- 47:05Speaker 1: reporterback at a local station, but moving up to ESPN.
- 47:08Speaker 1: When you got the call that we want you at espn,
- 47:11Speaker 1: where were you and what? What was actually said on
- 47:13Speaker 1: the call. So I was in Redding California, Um, at
- 47:17Speaker 1: the ABC local affiliate, K R C R television, and
- 47:22Speaker 1: I sent a tape to a head hunter, Um, three
- 47:25Speaker 1: of them across the United States. I was twenty five
- 47:27Speaker 1: years old this and I'm like, you know, I was
- 47:31Speaker 1: there for a year. I'm like, what does it matter? Uh,
- 47:33Speaker 1: it's just first class post did I'll send these tapes out.
- 47:36Speaker 1: So they send the tapes out to a head Hunter
- 47:39Speaker 1: and Um, I get a phone call, uh at home
- 47:44Speaker 1: from the head hunter who says to me, I've got
- 47:46Speaker 1: a very interesting and interesting bite. A big time shop
- 47:50Speaker 1: is interested in more of your works than the best
- 47:51Speaker 1: written material. Another tape, sent, another tape and then I
- 47:56Speaker 1: go to work one day and Um, it's a a
- 48:01Speaker 1: phone where it would ring once, one loud ring if
- 48:05Speaker 1: it was a local call, and a ring ring if
- 48:07Speaker 1: it was outside of the area code. I mean again,
- 48:10Speaker 1: this is and whenever it would ring ring, it would
- 48:15Speaker 1: it would be my parents or my brother, because I'm
- 48:18Speaker 1: from New York City and they lived in New Jersey
- 48:19Speaker 1: and my brother was in southern California. So it never
- 48:22Speaker 1: would ring, ring twice and ring ring and I pick
- 48:25Speaker 1: up the phone and it was an agent named Henry
- 48:29Speaker 1: reach from the William Mars talent agency, saying he wanted
- 48:34Speaker 1: my real immediately because I was the hottest up and
- 48:37Speaker 1: coming sportscaster in America, according to him and what he
- 48:41Speaker 1: had been hearing. And I'll might all right, because I'm
- 48:44Speaker 1: about to go drive fifty miles into the Shasta mountain
- 48:48Speaker 1: range to try and cover a local high school volleyball
- 48:51Speaker 1: game with my three quarter inch camera connected with a
- 48:54Speaker 1: coaxial cable to the deck with a huge, you know,
- 48:57Speaker 1: uh strap over my other shoulder, one man band, mean
- 49:00Speaker 1: the whole thing. And so, Um, I'm not feeling very hot.
- 49:04Speaker 1: He goes send me the tape. Great, hang up the phone,
- 49:06Speaker 1: call my brother up and I'm like you'll never guess
- 49:08Speaker 1: what just happened, and I tell him he let's get
- 49:10Speaker 1: out of here. No kiden. I'm like yeah, that's just tapping,
- 49:13Speaker 1: hanging the phone up, ring, ring, and another one, and
- 49:17Speaker 1: this isn't five minutes of each other. And I'm like watch,
- 49:20Speaker 1: I am such hot. That's ESPN on the phone, and
- 49:24Speaker 1: sure enough it was a guy named Al Jaffey from ESPN,
- 49:27Speaker 1: their head hunter, who I had sent multiple unsolicited tapes
- 49:30Speaker 1: and resumes too, over the previous five year period, and
- 49:33Speaker 1: it was him telling me that he had gotten my tape.
- 49:37Speaker 1: They really like it and they want to set up
- 49:39Speaker 1: an interview in an audition. And I thought it was
- 49:41Speaker 1: my brother telling all of my friends back home call rich,
- 49:44Speaker 1: say you're Al Jaffee sending all that, and I thought
- 49:47Speaker 1: it was all my friends trying to mother you know.
- 49:50Speaker 1: and Um, it was not. It was the real deal
- 49:53Speaker 1: guy and I almost cursed him out, thinking it was
- 49:55Speaker 1: a friend, like who are you? But it was really
- 49:58Speaker 1: him and I flew down to Los Angeles a few
- 50:01Speaker 1: weeks later to uh to interview. Um I did with
- 50:05Speaker 1: a whole bunch of executives that were there for the
- 50:07Speaker 1: cable ace awards, which no longer exists, and then a
- 50:11Speaker 1: few weeks later I auditioned for the gig Um on
- 50:15Speaker 1: a Monday after by the way, a snowstorm prevented me
- 50:19Speaker 1: from getting halfway across the country in the initial time
- 50:22Speaker 1: of auditioning. So it was a long wait, a lot
- 50:25Speaker 1: of ups and downs, but I got the GIG after
- 50:28Speaker 1: auditioning with Al Jaffee, and that's my story. Did you
- 50:31Speaker 1: ever have impostor syndrome or at any time do you
- 50:33Speaker 1: have impostor syndrome? While you were there, especially the early days.
- 50:36Speaker 1: What do you mean? Like you're like, okay, I'm probably
- 50:38Speaker 1: not at the level do they think I am. I'm
- 50:40Speaker 1: about to do this and I'm not really that good. Oh,
- 50:43Speaker 1: my first sports center was with the Larry Beale was
- 50:46Speaker 1: the sports center anchor. He's now out in, UH, northern California.
- 50:51Speaker 1: and Um, it was this is before Espn News, so
- 50:55Speaker 1: I was the last guy that they hired that they
- 50:57Speaker 1: threw directly on sports center. and Um, so ESPN news
- 51:01Speaker 1: is what they would put guys and gals on to
- 51:04Speaker 1: get their teeth cut and get up to speed. So, Um,
- 51:08Speaker 1: I I just remember it was a half hour sports
- 51:11Speaker 1: center in the on the on the round of thirty
- 51:14Speaker 1: two day, I believe, or it was a sweet sixteen.
- 51:17Speaker 1: It was the middle of March, so it's probably a
- 51:19Speaker 1: round of thirty two day and we I had eleven highlights.
- 51:22Speaker 1: That had only seen one of them. So they were
- 51:25Speaker 1: gonna hand me ten paperwork shot sheets it where you
- 51:28Speaker 1: could follow along what's written there, uh, to to know
- 51:31Speaker 1: what the highlights were. Um, and I would have to
- 51:34Speaker 1: add lib the whole damn thing and I remember walking
- 51:37Speaker 1: downstairs and saying to myself I have two choices. I
- 51:39Speaker 1: can either pee down my leg or I could just
- 51:41Speaker 1: suck it up and say I'm ready for this, and
- 51:43Speaker 1: I think I did both. Um, and it was wild, Um.
- 51:49Speaker 1: And I just looked around and the people that were
- 51:53Speaker 1: in the news room where all the anchors who I
- 51:56Speaker 1: had emulated or wanted to emulate or had watched for
- 51:59Speaker 1: years and what made me want to be a sportscenter anchor,
- 52:02Speaker 1: and they were automatically my colleagues. and Um, it was overwhelming,
- 52:07Speaker 1: no question about it. Keith Olberman and Dan Patrick and
- 52:10Speaker 1: Kilbourne and you know, Robin Roberts and Dave, you know,
- 52:14Speaker 1: Charlie Starner, Bob Lee. I mean, my God, these are
- 52:17Speaker 1: all the people that I was now colleagues with. It
- 52:20Speaker 1: was overwhelming. But you know, I was aged six, um,
- 52:24Speaker 1: but it it's time in my life. Seven years met
- 52:26Speaker 1: my wife there. My children are ESPN babies because of that.
- 52:29Speaker 1: Technically and unbelievable. What a run. I watch a lot
- 52:33Speaker 1: of your your work with the draft, and I wonder
- 52:36Speaker 1: what people, being a big fan of you, people admiring
- 52:40Speaker 1: what you do, do you sometimes get a lot of
- 52:42Speaker 1: inside information that you can't share. Like there's a fine
- 52:45Speaker 1: line of things you know and things you can actually say. Yeah,
- 52:47Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, but I mean I don't think I'm
- 52:52Speaker 1: I do this thing to break news, you know, and
- 52:55Speaker 1: I say that having a journalism degree from northwestern, I
- 52:58Speaker 1: know that that that that uh, not something you want
- 53:01Speaker 1: to say. I think I'm here to just kind of
- 53:04Speaker 1: guide everyone through what I'm hearing and understand what I
- 53:07Speaker 1: can say what I don't say. You know, I'm not schefter.
- 53:10Speaker 1: I mud Ian Rappaport, my colleague at the NFL network.
- 53:13Speaker 1: That's not that's not what I'm doing. If I hear
- 53:15Speaker 1: something that can break something, I will do that. But, Um,
- 53:19Speaker 1: you know a great for instance is it prior to
- 53:22Speaker 1: the eighteen draft? All I heard this is the draft
- 53:25Speaker 1: in Dallas, that it went Baker Mayfield and Sam Donald,
- 53:28Speaker 1: Josh Allen, uh, Josh Rosen, and then Lamar Jackson was
- 53:32Speaker 1: the last quarterback. That was the quarterback draft. Of We
- 53:35Speaker 1: had heard quite a bit on this show, Um, from
- 53:39Speaker 1: people who we spoke to off camera and what I
- 53:41Speaker 1: heard at the combine leading up. We heard a lot
- 53:43Speaker 1: that Russell Wilson was in play. We're like you get
- 53:46Speaker 1: out of here, like what the Hell? Um, really and Um,
- 53:51Speaker 1: you know, we didn't say anything, which is good because
- 53:54Speaker 1: Russell didn't get traded. But now we found out literally
- 53:58Speaker 1: in the week before his home winner in Seattle, as
- 54:01Speaker 1: a member of the Broncos, he let it be known
- 54:03Speaker 1: that they did try to trade him, trade him prior
- 54:05Speaker 1: to so what we heard was actually accurate. But had
- 54:10Speaker 1: we said it, we would have created this huge stir Um,
- 54:14Speaker 1: or or I shouldn't say that. What I say creates
- 54:17Speaker 1: a huge stir. I shouldn't say that. I would just
- 54:20Speaker 1: say that we would have definitely put something out there
- 54:22Speaker 1: that might have gained attention potentially significantly. That would have
- 54:26Speaker 1: been inaccurate, even though it was accurate. Um, and I
- 54:30Speaker 1: don't like to traffic in those waters. I would just
- 54:33Speaker 1: prefer to kind of make you smarter by by talking
- 54:37Speaker 1: about the things that I think are going to happen,
- 54:39Speaker 1: not what I'm hearing could happen like that. That is
- 54:42Speaker 1: not what I like to traffick and we'll get back
- 54:44Speaker 1: to more with rich eyesen in just a second. Let's
- 54:47Speaker 1: talk about draft kings, because the NFL action is in
- 54:49Speaker 1: full swing right here at draft kings sports book, an

- 55:41Speaker 1: but age varies by jurisdiction, eligibility restricting supply. See draftkings
- 55:45Speaker 1: dot com slash sports book for terms and resources. Gambling
- 55:48Speaker 1: problem called one hundred gambler in Tennessee caller, texta Tennessee redline,
- 55:51Speaker 1: eight hundred, eight, eight nine nine. In New York, call
- 55:54Speaker 1: eight seven seven, eight, hope and why? Or text hope
- 55:57Speaker 1: and why? Four six seven, three six nine. All right,
- 56:00Speaker 1: back to more with rich Eisen. You've been running the
- 56:03Speaker 1: forty for a bunch of years now. Are you ever
- 56:04Speaker 1: gonna hit a time where you're like, all right, I
- 56:06Speaker 1: gotta stop. If you had like a seven, seven seconds,
- 56:09Speaker 1: are you gonna go like, I need to pass this down,
- 56:10Speaker 1: let my son do it now. No, bobby. If I
- 56:13Speaker 1: if I need a walker, that's when I'll stop. And
- 56:16Speaker 1: had actual help, you know, Um doing that. But to
- 56:21Speaker 1: be very, um straightforward with you again, Um, yeah, there
- 56:24Speaker 1: is like at some point, Um, I don't think people
- 56:27Speaker 1: want to watch some guy run, you know, with a
- 56:29Speaker 1: limp and do something Um, particularly bad. My wife wants
- 56:34Speaker 1: me to train for it, Um and Um, I don't know.
- 56:39Speaker 1: I mean I go back and forth like should I
- 56:40Speaker 1: really really train for it? Like it was sort of
- 56:43Speaker 1: like an every band approach where just like it's just
- 56:46Speaker 1: anybody coming off the couch and running it. But now
- 56:48Speaker 1: maybe Um, as again fifty three, perhaps me training for
- 56:52Speaker 1: it could be Um, could be uh, I guess, an
- 56:59Speaker 1: example to who are advancing Um to stay in shape,
- 57:04Speaker 1: and maybe that's another aspect of it that I need
- 57:06Speaker 1: to focus on, because the reason why I do it
- 57:08Speaker 1: now and don't want to give it up is because
- 57:11Speaker 1: of the fundraising aspect for St Jude Children's Research Hospital. Um.
- 57:15Speaker 1: But it has been, you know, amazing. It's the, as
- 57:18Speaker 1: you can see here, the the logo of my show
- 57:22Speaker 1: and what so many people do associate me with. And
- 57:25Speaker 1: it was born, like many things in television, out of
- 57:28Speaker 1: complete boredom waiting to shoot television show. As I was
- 57:32Speaker 1: sitting next to Terrell Davis under the buzz of the
- 57:34Speaker 1: old R C a dome, which got blown to Smith
- 57:36Speaker 1: of reens for the new stadium in Indianapolis, where he
- 57:39Speaker 1: said Uh, I said, how fast do you think I
- 57:41Speaker 1: can run the forty? He laughed at me. I cursed
- 57:45Speaker 1: at him and went down and ran it. Had No
- 57:46Speaker 1: idea that the NFL network crew on a break was
- 57:49Speaker 1: actually recording it. They played it back as a surprise
- 57:53Speaker 1: to me on live TV and it kind of got
- 57:55Speaker 1: a life of its own that still lives today. Well, rich,
- 57:58Speaker 1: I appreciate the time a big fan and like again,
- 58:00Speaker 1: and if you guys have Roku or Roku Channel, which
- 58:03Speaker 1: I have the ROKU APP and I'm able to catch
- 58:05Speaker 1: rich on our listen listening on podcast as well. Uh.
- 58:08Speaker 1: One of the interviews that I really enjoyed was when
- 58:10Speaker 1: you talk to the guys that do the town halls,
- 58:13Speaker 1: the Chad Kroeger, the you know when you went and
- 58:15Speaker 1: you were like hey, because they go into these town
- 58:17Speaker 1: hall meetings and like propose water towers named after Britney Spirit. Like.
- 58:22Speaker 1: I thought that was such a funny interview. And I'll
- 58:24Speaker 1: end with this, because you are interviewing celebrities and athletes.
- 58:27Speaker 1: Have you had to change your style or research a
- 58:30Speaker 1: bit more, because your interviews are a bit different now? Well,
- 58:33Speaker 1: you know, I've got a great um production team that
- 58:36Speaker 1: that's stuck with me and this show through the pandemic
- 58:40Speaker 1: and through many different partners. Hopefully the roku journals the
- 58:43Speaker 1: last switch that I make, Um, and I appreciate that
- 58:47Speaker 1: you you got a Roku device just to keep watching.
- 58:51Speaker 1: That's pretty cool. But we we we dig in to
- 58:54Speaker 1: see if there is a celebrity sports cross section, because
- 58:59Speaker 1: that's the idea of this show is, you know, uh,
- 59:03Speaker 1: that sports is a touchdowne of pop culture just as
- 59:06Speaker 1: much as movies and television. Um, the greatest sporting event
- 59:11Speaker 1: that the that the American sports scene puts on and exports,
- 59:15Speaker 1: the Super Bowl, is stopped in the middle for a
- 59:18Speaker 1: rock concert and nobody bats an eyelash anymore. So it
- 59:22Speaker 1: really is something that I love to put together, and
- 59:26Speaker 1: I'm thrilled that the folks at Roku and the Roku
- 59:28Speaker 1: channel are into it too. So whenever a celebrity comes on,
- 59:32Speaker 1: we see, you know, did they play sports or if
- 59:34Speaker 1: they're a die hard fan of the team. Happy to
- 59:37Speaker 1: dive in and let them be a pundit, Um and
- 59:41Speaker 1: and give opinions, because I think when a celebrity who's
- 59:45Speaker 1: into that, uh comes in to promote his or her
- 59:48Speaker 1: movie or television show or music or album, they prefer
- 59:53Speaker 1: to talk about that rather than the funny story from
- 59:55Speaker 1: their vacation. Um. And then there are some celebrities who
- 59:59Speaker 1: don't no sports very well and are deathly afraid that
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: if they come on, it'll be like if you saw
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: the movie diner where, Um, you know, one of the
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: characters won't get married to his fiance unless he passes
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: a quiz on the Baltimore cult. Successfully, they feel like
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: that's what I'm going to do with them or to them,
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: which is the worst thing for a host to do.
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: So I try to make it comfortable and just talk
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: about their movie or TV history and Um, so we've
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: got to, as I said, a terrific crew that we
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: put together here and we all, you know, I think,
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: I really like each other. Um, that we we come
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: up with a segment called celebrity true or false, where
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: we just go through their history about, well, this story
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: was on the Internet, this story was on your IMDB page.
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: Is it true or false about your TV show or
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: you about your your your movies? And it's just a
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: great way and fans eat it up, thank goodness. I
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: mean we had Henry Winkler on the other month and
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: we talked to about jump the shark. Um. We had,
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: you know, Gerald mccraney here the other day. Um, from
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: so many terrific shows. We asked them about major dad
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: and that's what I love to do, just having people
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: from across the pop culture landscape talk about their movies
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: and TV. So yes, my long winded answer is yes,
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: there is a lot more research that goes into it,
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: but you put up a production constructor to place it in.
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: And not only is it Um something enjoyable to watch
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: and listen to live, it's very consumable on an on
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: demand podcast or youtube or youtube page. Um YouTube dot
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: com slash rich eyes and show has twenty eight thousand
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: videos from our near eight here history on it. And so, yeah,
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: I do love having celebrities on and and and it
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: does require a little bit more help. Certainly if you
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: mentioned chat and t j, they come on and drop
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: the word paraneum for the first time in my my
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: show's history. Listen, Big Fan, you guys follow at Rich
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: Eyesen at rich eyes and show, Roku UH as, as
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: you say now, you be announcing a serious channel really soon.
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: Radio like I'm a total fanboy, you know. I'll admit
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: it now that it's over, and I've admitted it six
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: times during but just keep doing it and I'll be
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: listening every day and hopefully I'll meet you in real
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: life sometime soon. Rich, thanks a lot. When you're back
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: here in Los Angeles after waking up at one in
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: the morning and you're done with your show, you're coming
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: here and sit next to me. We'll have a chat.

- 1:03:31Speaker 1: Eddie and Ray. We're not your typical sports show. It's
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: more like three guys sitting at a bar complaining about sports.
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: Like your fantasy football team, I regret drafting Ezekiel Elliott.
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: Come on, I don't even know why that hopes in him. Now,
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: after seeing the way he can't run, I'm dropping Ezeki Elliott.
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: Derrick Henry, he can't run to the bars on Broadway.
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: He's not gonna run five yards in a football game.
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: Elijah Mitchell, he's gonna be Great. The niners run the ball.
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: I can tell you that. I forgot. He's softer than Sharman.
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: Tore the paper. Sub ribe and listen to sore losers.
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: I heart radio, APP apple podcast or wherever you get
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: your podcast. Thanks again to rich Eisen for coming on
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: the show again. Jay Glazer on Monday, Um Ian Rapport
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: coming up. If you are we still Ricky Williams? Sometime Soon? Yeah,
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: next week, yes, man, we're lining them up? Maybe Jerry Jones?
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: How are we doing? Just a quick check in. We
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: all had coaches that we were trying to book for
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: a five prize. So, Eddie, who's your coach and how's
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: it going? Billy and Napier, head coach of the Florida Gators,
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: I sent, I shot off a couple of emails. Let
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: me tell you this, boys, I gotta reply. Go ahead
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: quick Le Say so. The reply was from UH, Nancy Scarborough.
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: She is the Executive Assistant of football operations in Florida,
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: and I too went very heavy with my friend Bobby.
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, USA just copied for that one. That's funny.
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: This guy, he's been everywhere. These are our numbers and uh,
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: I said if he'd be available, we would really appreciate it.
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: She says, Oh, Eddie, I'm very familiar with your show.
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: I think it's a great idea. I'm looping in coach
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: Napier's media communication person, Rick hurt her Tatto, love Mr Hurtado,
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: who coordinates interviews, appearance requests, Etcetera. So I'll let you know. Thanks,
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: Nancy's let's go get that money. Okay, let's go check
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: in with Mike d Mike what coach did you draw
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: out of the hat? Have Willcox from CAL okay, I've
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: sent off a few emails and this has been my response. Nothing.
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: I've heard nothing. Yeah, it sucks. It takes a while
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: for email to go to west coast, and think about that.
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: Horses got a lot farther to travel. So who did
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: you message? Every director I could find, every assistant I
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: could find, and nothing. You'RE gonna have to go there.
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: If I've even got on instagram messaging people. I'm going
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: to California this week. Mike just here. That's a good
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: technique as well. Obviously good instagram. Have faith that somebody
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: will reply eventually. But if we should make a rule here,
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: if it's just dead and you can't get it, I
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: think you should be able to go hear me out,
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: because we can actually make the rules here, since it's
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: a money game. We can either go everybody gets one
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: that they can pass on, so you get one free.
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: That's not gonna work, or you can go all right,
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: this one's not working and you can go to the
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: next one, but it takes you back one. What if
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: we get a straight up no? Well then you can
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: just move to the next one without any penalty and
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: you can just show us it's a no. Okay. So
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: which do you like? Do you like just going I'm
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: moving off this, but there's a penalty and moving off
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: of it, like you get you're then minus one, Mike,
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: if you're at zero? Or do you get one mull again,
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: but then if you get hung up again, you're just
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: dead and you can never yeah, then you're out of
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: the running. Then it's like you can't do anything, because
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: I did like the mull again at first. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: let's go with the point deduction. I like that one.
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: I like point deduction. It gives you fair like you know,
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: you can move on, but you get penalized, but you
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: can still survive if you do that. Okay, the other one.
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: You're right, dude, you're exactly you're out. It's like, all right,
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: Mulligat next one, you get another note. State. Crap, it's
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: John Cox's brother. We're gonna from. All right, keep on,
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: keep on rocking, trying, yeah, other ways to I don't
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: want to keep you guys. Don't say anything, and Mike
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: doesn't need my tips. Trust me, I could take tips
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: from Mike. So if he's not getting them, I'm not
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: even sure they're a real program anymore. I'm not sure
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: they don't play football. It's just a totally different world
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: that I'm used to. Like people in Sports, Mike's like, hello,
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: Mr Sports Ball Guy. Kickoff, Kevin. What do you got, um?
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: So I drew Jimbo Fisher at Texas A and M.
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: I have reached out full. First I hit up amy
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: actually from the show, and I said, Hey, amy, you
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: got any connections to a and M football? I know
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: it's not really as far you know. Yeah, and she
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: said Hey, okay, yeah, I don't really know anybody. We'll
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: get back to you. Haven't heard from amy yet, so
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: he can't even get responsible here. I'm pretty sure she forgot.
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: Twenty minutes later she probably moved all of their life. Okay,
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: thanks amy, Um. And then I send off an email
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: similar to, you know, eddies and years like throughout the numbers. Hey,
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: we're bones, bl blah, blah. We're on a conversation. Like
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: we would love to have Jimbo on just a little
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: some of his time. I'd really appreciate it. And Mike,
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: if you get those crickets guy, who did you send
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: it to? His assistant. It says the head football coaches assistant.
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: I can't remember her name, and there was like three
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: or four other people that were like the communications people
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: are relations people, Um, and I've got nothing. So I
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: might give her a call though, pretty soon here. Yeah,
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: and I would also just as a general rule, if
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: you don't hear anything back, they may not work there anymore.
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: The Dallas cowboys, remember, the guys send it to didn't
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: work there anymore. I gotta bounce back. And then you
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: got two other emails. So just remember that and then
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: can can you guys ask me for help once a season? Oh,
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: there's a there's a good cavity like it where it's
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: just like hey, could you send a note or could
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: you make a call? Do you guys want that? Mike,
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: what do you think? Or is that cheating? That cheating,
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: but money involved. But it's it's once Mike speaks up.
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: That's why I'm asking. That's why I'm asking. Okay, so
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: no Jimbo Fisher yet. No, nothing yet. I feel like
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: I'm at a disadvantage, by the way, on the whole
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: social thing, because you guys got blue check marks. Mike doesn't.
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: Tried to get Mike. I don't either on twitter, not
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: on Instagram, but my weasley eight hundred followers and I'm
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: they're like, WHO's this guy? I'm gonna tell you, though.
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: You have eighteen hundred, though, because you're kind of sex
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: symbol of the show and I keep putting your face
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: up there on the page and they and they don't
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: followed you. Yeah, you're honest. Okay, good luck. Let us
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: know how it goes. I'll check in on Monday, probably.
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: All right, Adam, who do you have? I got great
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: Ciano at rugger's, which which seems equally random as cow.
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: But I was gonna say it's like both sides, it's like, well,
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: they even hear from an email from the south. Yeah,
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: it's like it's on. It's like you want to have
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: you want to have us on this, but why? You know.
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: But but I made a phone call the other day.
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: I went straight to the Internet, found a phone number.
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: I called Mr Jimmy Gill with the Rugger's football program
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: and then I emailed him as well, because I just
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: wanted to be super annoying about it and the and
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: then I laid it on thick. I gave the good
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: the good email with the numbers and the whatnot, and
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: then Jimmy said. Hi, Adam, thanks for reaching out. I'll
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: check in and get back to you. So I feel
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: like that was not nothing, that it was it was
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: more than crickets, less than definitely, so I'll take it. Mike,
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: what about this? Okay, could they could all. You don't
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: need this, though, so you're gonna say no, but I'M
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: gonna ask it anyway instead of me, could they go
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: to Scuba Steve for advice, who books a lot of people,
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: just advice for advice. Yeah, yeah, I'm good at but
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: but you don't want him to have to. He can't
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: do anything. So you all get one couple on to
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: go to SCOOBA Steve, who is an excellent booker because
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: he's our executive produce of the bibones show. He can
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: give you lots of tips. Confession. Yeah, already, okay, he
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: didn't know that. He didn't know that wasn't a rule.
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: So as of now, so now he gets as far
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: as like who to reach out to you? Yeah, yeah, yeah, Scoola,
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: can you hear me? What's what does general advice you
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: would give everybody about trying to book someone that doesn't
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: know who we are and we have no relationship with
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: for sports or for music for sports, for sports. That's
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: a tough thing, but I think your name is big
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: enough to where you could use that as your starting point. Hey,
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: I work for the bobby bones show. We and this
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: is our given stats of what our show does. You
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: tell them how many million listeners we get, how many
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: downalds we have in the podcast, all the basic stat information, um.
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: And then you go into we do this other side
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: project called twenty five whistles that gets promotion on the
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: national show that super serves plus affiliates. Yet Ya, Yada.
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: So you get cross promotion, you get on both shows. Um.
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: And then you give them some options. Never leave things
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: open ended. You have to always give them what you
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: need and what you want, because if you leave it
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: to them, it will never close or they give you
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: options that aren't gonna work for our time schedule, meaning, Hey,
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: can you do Tuesday at three or can you do
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: Thursday at noon? Exactly, don't. Don't. What can you guys do? No,
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: don't ask them that. You just tell them exactly what
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: you can do and they'll try to work around that.
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: That's a great point that I wasn't gonna share it
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: and SCOOBING SCOOBA nails. He's the expert of this. It's
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: like if someone says hey, let's let's hang out sometime,
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: when you actually ever go hang out with somebody? Never, never, never,
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: rep reports, still waiting for you to hang out with them.
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: That's true. I never mailed him, prime example. I never
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: emailed him. They're like, just email me, we'll figure it.
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: I think it's hilarious and just like yeah, yeah, okay, well,
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: maybe we'll get us an interview. Good Luck, guys. Nobody.
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: You're all the same, though. Right now, everybody's sitting at zero.
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: A couple of US got some replies. Well, let's add
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: the point. You get zero. Uh. I think that's that's
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: gonna do it for today. With some of the stuff
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: I think we're gonna do next week, because we're gonna draft.
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: I'll Rut the NFL Games real quick. I have to.
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: You have to have like four things I wanted to do,
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: but I got a doctor's appointment. I've already miss lunched.
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: It's a whole situation. Now you're grumpy. I told Eddie
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: as like we're not gonna go very long today. Famous
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: last words. All Right, Um, my NFL page. Okay, I
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: got it? Nope, I don't have it. Mike Sound Kevin
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: One gave me. Looking forward to the most. I'M gonna
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: go with the bills and dolphin. I know we talked
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: about it a few times this week, but I mean
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: just seeing those teams go on it will be fun.
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: It's in Miami too, which makes it more fun. It's
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: a little bit of a challenge for the bills to
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: go down there and do that right now. You know,
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: the challenge of going to Miami and the challenge of
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: Planning Buffalo in the winter different challenges. You know. I
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: kind of like that challenge. You going to Miami. Um,
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: and I'M gonna shout out Kevin here because I was
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: looking for a page on the ground. I just do it. Kevin,
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: randomly and Awkward Vina. He was ready, and look at him, Jobe,
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: he bench presses, he's quick, good looking. Get this guy.
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: I love that game. I don't think it's gonna be
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: a great game, but if it is, that's the game
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: of the year. I'm a big to a guy. I
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: love to I've always loved to, love to, for he
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: was a lot lovable this week. So let's go. Let's go.
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: I love with the dolphins to win. I just don't
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: think they're going to, but I would love to be
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: wrong on this one. Um Eddie, tell me when you
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: talk about your game. Also want to know what your
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: NFL bet. My car game of the week is. Yeah,
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: because you are your one car down. Already lost my car,
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: so now it's like big time. We gotta get it back,
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: so double it up, let's go. It's his wife's car.
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: Now my kids can't even get to school. So I'M
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: gonna go on that game. I mean, I gotta go
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: with the chiefs because they're playing the colts. Uh. The
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: colts have showed us that they're just they cannot get
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: it together. I mean the chiefs are going to Annapolis.
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: It's a little worrisome, but that that's why the line
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: is at minus five. I think that's a low line
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: for the tick Kansas City chiefs. They're the second best
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: team in the NFL right now, right under the bills.
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: Let's go with the chiefs. Minus five against Indianapolis. That
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: number is so tantalizing. I saw it to the five.
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: It was so just dreamy and perfect that I'm like,
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: sums up, I can't I know. And when you did
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: your locks earlier you were you were saying it's like
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: and you're gonna give me two points every time I
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: say that, like Vegas is really giving me minus five.
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: They're doing. Yeah, they do every time. So you say
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: it again. Your Bet your wife's car the week. My
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: wife's car is already lost. Mine is the Kansas City chiefs.
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: Minus Five. Oh that's such a number. Ye, get that, yum, yum. Alright, Adam,
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: game of the week. Game of the week. This is.
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: This is my bias siren. I'm really I just want
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: to see what the cowboys are made of this week.
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: Did they do they actually keep it going like it's
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: it's cooper rush, gonna have a decent game against the giants.
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: Are the giants any good at all? I still don't know.
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: There's so many questions about both these two teams. How
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: much can the cow boys salvage? How good are the
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: giants actually? That's a really interesting game to me. I
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: think I was gonna pick the same game because I
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: don't think it's such a bias alert, because I know
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: I do have a little biased so too. Do you
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: have money alarm? Yeah, we should all. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: I think also we should have to call the bias
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: a long money each other for no one. If somebody
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: is biased, you go bias alarm microlhad. Yeah, so I
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: do have a little biased too, but I think can
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: the cowboys win two of four with rush? That would
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: be great for them. Are the giants any good? Probably not,
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: but maybe giants have a chance to beat the wounded
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: cowboys team ago what three, you know they really do?
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: That would be crazy and great for them. Um, that's
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: a really interesting game to me. So I'm glad you.
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: You picked that one. I guess the I'm gonna pick
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: the Jaguars and chargers, and mostly you never pick a
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: game with the jags because who the crap cares? But
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: the Jags have been playing pretty good. The chargers are
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: really good, but they're down a quarter of a quarterback. Yeah,
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: let's see how you play and so and let's see
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: how the Jacks play again, I mean and Jack's have
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: a really good defense. And let's see what if Trevor
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: Lawrence in that offense. They're just throwing the ball like
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: in the backyard football. Let's see if they can score
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: some points on this. I think we learned a lot
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: through that game. I think so too. Yeah, quickly. Ravens
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: and Patriots. Let's see what Lamar does. Let's see if
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: he keeps it up, because he's been crushing it. Um, yeah,
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: let's turn. Yeah, we're learning as we go, guess. All right.
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: Next up, Texans and bears. I mean, who the crap cares? Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: I mean the Texans could win that game and they
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: they win that game, although they're playing in Chicago, and
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: then they got another win in the division of just
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: get a win, just get a win and move up.
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: Next up, raiders and titans. That's here in town, in Nashville.
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: I think the raiders probably win that one. Um, wouldn't
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: mind see the titans win, though. Chiefs and Colts. Eddie
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: hit that one right on the head. Bills and dolphins.
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: Let's see if Miami can keep it close and if
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: they win, holy crap. Lions and Vikings. That's a would
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: be a fun game to watch. By the way, I
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: talk to Dan Skipper. I start gonna come on the
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: show next week. Yeah, I forgot. I don't know wh
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: if we got to mention that. You Email Jerry Jones
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: going on? Oh, I just messaged him. I was like Yo,
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: skip and he's like uh he's like when is it?
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: We got a big division game this week, so I
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: can't like right now, but next week. I was like,
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: let's go. Bro So, who's playing offensive line for the
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: lions right now, was on big deal last week and
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: they're like scoop skip in locker room. So hopefully I'll
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: come on next week. Pretty cool. Bengals and jets. Bengals
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: will wipe floor. Eagles and commanders. Eagles are really hot,
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: but commanders aren't bad. So it'll be interesting to see
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: if the eagles can and Jalen hurts can keep that up.
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: Rams and cardinals. I think the rams probably thrash. I
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: think the cardinals probably have that hangover. Um. I hope
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: they do it to the rams elevate a bit and
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: we need a few more pillar really strong teams. Falcons
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: and Seahawks, who gives a crap? Packers and bucks. That's
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: another game almost yeah, Brady and Aaron Rodgers and yeah,
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: that's that's that's a good one right there. And forty
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: nine the broncos. Also an interesting game because it's just
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: the two quarterbacks I'm interested in now, Garoppolo, and obviously
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: we're just trying to see if Denver ends up being
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: pretty good, you know. So all right, there you go.
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: That's that. Alright, Mikey, my wife's call and makes you
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: like you don't have a docs appointment. Your lunch is
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: at the House and so I'm not gonna be able
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: to eat now I gotta go. So anyway, sorry, man,
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: that's all right. That's that's on me, Broe. We just
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: got to talk to you. Know what I'm saying. You
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: start chopping it up sports and football and stuff. Alright,
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: final thought, Eddie Man, I watched an awesome video of
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: this guy, uh cowboys fan, obviously in Arlington, goes into
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: a Walmart and a horse and the horses painted white
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: and blue, cowboy blue, and he's wearing a Dak Prescott
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: Jersey and Dude, he's just cruising down the island. Apparently
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: that's not illegal. It's totally illegal on your horse. So
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: cops couldn't do anything. They're like, you don't want a
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: dog sometimes? Well, he said it was a therapy horse,
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: so let's go cowboys. I like it. It's pretty cool.
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: I like it. Kick off, Kevin. The Patriots are underdogs
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: on spread of two and a half the ravens this
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: weekend and under Belichick at home. The Patriots are fifteen
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: and four against the spread in his era. I hate
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: those stats, good stats. It's just a random like who
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: comes up with those stats? Data, actual, actual actions, just
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: like you know, that's going to change and then we'll
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: never talk about that stat again. Ever, like next week,
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: stats changed. Data changes with more Adam UH my. My
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: final thought comes in the form of a confession. I
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: tried to bet your parlay last week, bobby, and you
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: Bet Oklahoma, but I accidentally hit in Nebraska and placed
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: the bet and I missed out on a hundred bucks.
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: I would have had way like ten bucks. I would
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: have had way more smiles than frowns, but I was
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: frowning instead. Very sorry to hear that, Adam, bone head,
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: bonehead play on my part. You know, I've been keeping up.
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: It's like my second or third favorite team in college,
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: Big Vanderbilt Guy. You guys a boy that? Yeah, Bandy, yeah,
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: I bet him every week I've hit. They kept me
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: from hitting a ten team parlay, though I hit nine
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: out of ten. They kept me, maybe two weeks ago,
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: from in a ten teamer. That hurt a little bit,
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: but I've been they're playing Alabama this week and that
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: it spreads like yeah, forty or so, I'm not touching it.
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: Usually to be all over Alabama popping Vandy by seventy. Yeah,
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: I like that cut of these guys. Jim, come on,
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: I don't really know what Jim Means and this, this context,
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: sounded right. And they will lose and they'll lose by
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: a lot and they may even lose by more than forty.
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: But I'm gonna say it. I think vanderbilt is starting
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: to have a new culture because of coach Lee. It
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: may take him a while to get pretty good. Remember
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: an SEC medi days he was like no, we want
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: to be the best team of the country and they're
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: like in your division, no, no conference, no, no, no country,
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: and they went. But like, I see some fire in
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: these guys and if they can play Alabama and not
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: all die, that's a win. It's a win some big
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: bandy guy. It's funny. I just wanted to survive. Just
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: doing all that. Get through the next week, one guy
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: standing next week again. Thank you. This is, you know,
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: been a great show and draft kings has been awesome
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: with us and be sure to bet the parlay. And
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: other than that, we're gonna let Adam blow us out
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: of here. Let's go. Has a week list mon that
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: sounds like P for some reason it went from like
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: none to like a coach going all right, that game
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: is over. We'll see you guys on Monday. J Glazer
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: on Monday, and it sounds like everybody else next week
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: to Al Right, by everybody. Theme song written by me,
