- 0:00Speaker 1: All Star Toyota presents Off the Bench with Jacob Hester
- 0:04Speaker 1: and Matt Flynn.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Okay, here we go where.
- 0:07Speaker 1: The plays get broken down and science gets denied.
- 0:10Speaker 2: I got to come off the bitch.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Hour two of Off the Bench Live from the Mercedes
- 0:14Speaker 1: Benz Baton Rouge Studio starts.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Now we've got music now. I know I fell back because.
- 0:23Speaker 3: Tate had to do the open kind of like all
- 0:25Speaker 3: dry and stuff.
- 0:26Speaker 2: But nay, we got music now.
- 0:28Speaker 3: But very excited for day number two because all these
- 0:33Speaker 3: teams are schools and teams and proud programs that had
- 0:37Speaker 3: certainly for Georgia, for Tennessee and for Texas. They have
- 0:40Speaker 3: been fully in the conversation over the last couple of years.
- 0:43Speaker 3: Alburn's trying to get back there. But yesterday three of
- 0:48Speaker 3: the four quarterback quarterback quarterback. You know, Austin Simmons a
- 0:52Speaker 3: little bit of a question mark, not because I don't
- 0:54Speaker 3: think he's going to be a good player, but he's
- 0:56Speaker 3: not been a starter before, like these teams right here. Okay,
- 1:00Speaker 3: Like what's Jackson going to be coming over from Oklahoma?
- 1:02Speaker 3: Where Matt said it last segment he got bingched, all right,
- 1:05Speaker 3: what's Gunner Stockton going to be. Is he going to
- 1:08Speaker 3: be able to replicate what Carson bek did over the
- 1:10Speaker 3: last couple of years. Tennessee we've talked about their quarterback troubles.
- 1:14Speaker 3: They traded their quarterback. Basically, he goes to UCLA, you
- 1:17Speaker 3: get UCLA's quarterback and your quarterback. He's a tough kid,
- 1:21Speaker 3: but he didn't have his best year two years ago.
- 1:23Speaker 3: Was his best year at Apple Lachin State, not last year,
- 1:25Speaker 3: and then for Texas Turks manning right, and so all
- 1:28Speaker 3: the hype and all the things we think he can be,
- 1:31Speaker 3: but it is drastic difference in what we had yesterday
- 1:34Speaker 3: and what we know to what we are trying to
- 1:37Speaker 3: find out.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Yeah, it's quarterbacks that are all over the spectrum of
- 1:41Speaker 2: what the hype level is on what people think they
- 1:43Speaker 2: can be. A lot of you know, Gunnar Stockton one
- 1:48Speaker 2: of the top guys in his recruiting class, we still
- 1:51Speaker 2: don't know because of the style of play. Jackson Arnold,
- 1:55Speaker 2: of course he's got this, he's got these different he
- 1:57Speaker 2: can run, he can throw it a little bit. What
- 1:59Speaker 2: is he going to be? Well, how is he going
- 2:01Speaker 2: to do outside of the offense at Oklahoma that was
- 2:06Speaker 2: not very good last year? Didn't have a lot of
- 2:08Speaker 2: pieces in place for him to be successful. And then
- 2:11Speaker 2: you got, of course Arch Manning, who has all the
- 2:14Speaker 2: hype in the world and people are putting him in
- 2:15Speaker 2: Heisman list and everything. But there's one thing that one
- 2:18Speaker 2: thing similar about all of these kids is that they're
- 2:21Speaker 2: all unproven. Of course, Arch played in three games, and
- 2:24Speaker 2: we think he's gonna be good, but we don't know
- 2:27Speaker 2: what any of these guys are gonna be. So, you know,
- 2:29Speaker 2: like you said yesterday, it was a little bit more
- 2:32Speaker 2: of these are proven commodities. We know they're gonna be good,
- 2:35Speaker 2: we know what they're we know what they bring to
- 2:36Speaker 2: the table. Today's all about like who are these guys,
- 2:39Speaker 2: what can they be? What's the speculation? So everybody's interested
- 2:42Speaker 2: in hearing these guys talk just to see what kind
- 2:45Speaker 2: of confidence level, what are they bringing to the table.
- 2:49Speaker 2: From a character standpoint and with a leadership standpoint, there's
- 2:52Speaker 2: only so much you can get from an interview with
- 2:54Speaker 2: a thousand people here. But like, yeah, it's it's unknown.
- 2:57Speaker 2: So this is this is a really interesting day. We'll
- 3:00Speaker 2: learn a lot more today about these kids, and we
- 3:02Speaker 2: did probably yesterday from those guys.
- 3:04Speaker 3: So for you and your own experience because you had
- 3:07Speaker 3: been in college four years, you had played plenty of times.
- 3:11Speaker 3: There have been games where you started for LSU. There
- 3:12Speaker 3: have been games where you came in for LSU. There's
- 3:14Speaker 3: games where you rotated for LSU. Like for you, once
- 3:18Speaker 3: it was your team, because it's it is Gunnerstocking team.
- 3:21Speaker 3: It is Jackson Rtal who's played before, so it's a
- 3:23Speaker 3: little bit different. But now like even Arch Quinn's not
- 3:26Speaker 3: there anymore, he's in Miami, it's Arch's team. What like
- 3:31Speaker 3: what was that process like for you? And like how
- 3:33Speaker 3: did you make sure that you made it the biggest
- 3:36Speaker 3: thing but didn't make it too big?
- 3:38Speaker 2: Well, mine was a little different because I was like,
- 3:40Speaker 2: it's about time. It was so long. I was like,
- 3:45Speaker 2: it's been so long since I've been a starter here,
- 3:47Speaker 2: you know, consistent starter. So mine was a little bit
- 3:50Speaker 2: of a relief and we talked about it. When people
- 3:54Speaker 2: are asking that, oh, Matt, you were you definitely came
- 3:56Speaker 2: to media day when you were going into your senior year,
- 3:59Speaker 2: I'm like, no, I didn't for when you were getting
- 4:01Speaker 2: married and I was not.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Sure, uhman and definitely a groomsman.
- 4:07Speaker 2: But two remind people that Miles hadn't named me the
- 4:11Speaker 2: starter by this point. I mean, I think it was
- 4:13Speaker 2: everybody pretty much new, but he was more of the
- 4:17Speaker 2: you know, he wanted to create that mindset of we're
- 4:20Speaker 2: going to compete.
- 4:21Speaker 3: He's so like, he's say compete, So it's, uh, yeah,
- 4:26Speaker 3: he I hadn't been named the starter at that point.
- 4:28Speaker 2: So you actually still haven't been still to this day,
- 4:31Speaker 2: not named the starter of two thousand and seven. But
- 4:35Speaker 2: you know, I don't know. I guess I wouldn't have
- 4:38Speaker 2: gone anyway. I had duties that weekend. I had to groom.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Not a big deal. I still can't believe you asked
- 4:47Speaker 2: that question, but we actually can.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Uh.
- 4:51Speaker 2: But you know, you look at you talk about these
- 4:53Speaker 2: kids and it's finally they have the keys of the car.
- 4:56Speaker 2: How do they handle it. It's always interesting to see
- 4:59Speaker 2: because you want to think every kid can handle it
- 5:02Speaker 2: the right way you want to think, and there's nothing
- 5:06Speaker 2: to prove that. These we talked about the expectations put
- 5:10Speaker 2: on arch Manning. There's so many. I mean, hopefully they've
- 5:13Speaker 2: taken his phone in social media away from him just
- 5:15Speaker 2: for his own sanity, because you want to be able
- 5:19Speaker 2: to and you'd like to think that everybody can filter
- 5:22Speaker 2: out what people say and they're all going to say it.
- 5:25Speaker 2: They're going to say it today. You know, we don't
- 5:27Speaker 2: listen to the outside noise. It's all about the team
- 5:30Speaker 2: inside the building, which is great, and I think for
- 5:33Speaker 2: ninety nine percent of the time it is that way.
- 5:36Speaker 2: But in this day and age, with social media, with
- 5:39Speaker 2: access to all sorts of information, like I will say
- 5:45Speaker 2: clear consciously.
- 5:46Speaker 3: It is I will say, the the Maning family being
- 5:49Speaker 3: around them a little bit, they try to get away
- 5:54Speaker 3: from social media as much as they can.
- 5:56Speaker 2: It's impossible now, it's impossible. But also yeah, I if
- 6:00Speaker 2: anybody set up to do it, it would be would
- 6:02Speaker 2: be him. But he's in college. He's a college kid.
- 6:07Speaker 2: You don't think he's got social media. There's no way
- 6:10Speaker 2: to avoid There's no way to avoid that. So we'll see.
- 6:16Speaker 2: I mean, the hype train for him can go really
- 6:19Speaker 2: really good for him, or it could go really really
- 6:23Speaker 2: bad for him, just depending on his style of play.
- 6:25Speaker 2: But if he plays well, it is going to bode
- 6:27Speaker 2: well for him. Go up to Ohio State and get
- 6:30Speaker 2: a win. See what happens.
- 6:32Speaker 3: I mean, that opener is going to be a rematch
- 6:34Speaker 3: up the Cotton Bowl. It's like, hey, Bud, there's no
- 6:36Speaker 3: tiptoeing into this starting quarterback situation.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Like you start a game, you want to go to
- 6:41Speaker 2: a state.
- 6:42Speaker 3: They were against UTSA ULM and Mississippi State. A high
- 6:46Speaker 3: State's gonna be a little bit different. Buck guy's gonna
- 6:48Speaker 3: be You're going up to Ohio Stadium. Yeah, they will
- 6:51Speaker 3: look over a right shoulder.
- 6:52Speaker 2: They have a jersey and a helmet right by the
- 6:54Speaker 2: National Champion Championship trophy for a reason, because they are
- 6:58Speaker 2: the rant and champs. You pick to fight with a
- 7:00Speaker 2: big with a big old boy. Yeah.
- 7:04Speaker 3: And and we're not gonna talk a lot about the
- 7:05Speaker 3: Buck guys here at SEC media Day, but they do
- 7:09Speaker 3: also in a lot of people's minds, and I might
- 7:12Speaker 3: agree with them. They have the best offense and defensive
- 7:15Speaker 3: players in the country. Jeremiah Smith the receiver and Cave
- 7:17Speaker 3: Downs at safety.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:20Speaker 3: So they lost fourteen guys to the draft, but let's
- 7:22Speaker 3: not I like the covered Spears.
- 7:23Speaker 2: And Texas did lose a lot of people as well.
- 7:25Speaker 2: So can they reload? I know that they are their
- 7:29Speaker 2: preseason hype trains pretty big too. Uh, just as a team,
- 7:33Speaker 2: not only not only Arch so we'll see if they
- 7:36Speaker 2: can live up to the hype. I'll be interested the
- 7:39Speaker 2: closer we get to that game to see how this
- 7:42Speaker 2: crew here at OTB picks that game. Right now, I'd
- 7:48Speaker 2: go Buck guys. I'd go Buck guys and ten. I
- 7:52Speaker 2: mean I like Texas. I do.
- 7:54Speaker 3: I do think they still have right now. They still
- 7:56Speaker 3: got a lot of talent as well. But to your point,
- 7:58Speaker 3: like Julian saying, like what's going to be that's gonna
- 8:01Speaker 3: be a big question mark.
- 8:01Speaker 2: But why do you have the best receiver in the
- 8:03Speaker 2: country to throw it to? Hey, college football, you give
- 8:05Speaker 2: the home team three points, right, Yeah, they automatically in
- 8:08Speaker 2: the Vegas line. If it's if it's a chalk matchup,
- 8:12Speaker 2: you give the home team three points. So outside of that,
- 8:15Speaker 2: I'm saying they're a touchdown better right now on a
- 8:17Speaker 2: neutral site.
- 8:18Speaker 3: All right, So this is, uh, we're going to do this.
- 8:21Speaker 3: I know everybody's going to be shocked when I say this.
- 8:23Speaker 3: We're going to take a break somewhat on time here.
- 8:25Speaker 2: This is early.
- 8:26Speaker 3: It is it's like actually two minutes early. Because I
- 8:30Speaker 3: want to be a man of my word, and I
- 8:31Speaker 3: told one of our loyal listeners, Quinn, that here during
- 8:35Speaker 3: SEC media day every day day one, two, three, and four,
- 8:41Speaker 3: we would go over the teams and say they're you know,
- 8:44Speaker 3: win total number according to Vegas and go over to
- 8:47Speaker 3: under Okay, perfect, all right, so we got to go
- 8:49Speaker 3: back well retroactive here, lsu Ole, Miss South Carolina, Vanderbilt.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Perfect.
- 8:55Speaker 3: We'll do that, and then later on we'll do Auburn, Georgia,
- 8:58Speaker 3: Tennessee and Texas. So when we come back, we'll go
- 9:01Speaker 3: through the teams that we heard from yesterday and we'll
- 9:03Speaker 3: do it right here on OTB.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Off the bench, all right.
- 9:10Speaker 3: Go to trash rangers dot comrodtrash ranger dot com is
- 9:12Speaker 3: the website to sign up for residential commercial service roll
- 9:15Speaker 3: off dumpsters. Three different sizes to choose from, and if
- 9:19Speaker 3: you're not quite sure which size to use, just let
- 9:21Speaker 3: him know. Here's what I guy going on my home,
- 9:24Speaker 3: my business. Here's the amount of trash that I expect
- 9:26Speaker 3: to have. They've been in the business, they've been doing
- 9:29Speaker 3: this for a long time. They're going to know exactly
- 9:31Speaker 3: what size you need. It is incredibly easy. They're gonna
- 9:34Speaker 3: drop it off, they're gonna pick it up. I mean,
- 9:36Speaker 3: I tell a story out of time like t Bob
- 9:37Speaker 3: went in. He's like, we're at the station right downtown.
- 9:41Speaker 3: He's like, I need a dumpster. We got some stuff.
- 9:44Speaker 3: The guy said it was spring cleaning and didn't tell

- 10:45Speaker 3: Hiright Welcome back in OTB one of four five ESPN
- 10:48Speaker 3: Baton Rouge. It looks like we're missing a good like
- 10:50Speaker 3: film says year. I know it's officiating. The head of
- 10:53Speaker 3: officiatings up there, given like the great word in point
- 10:56Speaker 3: of emphasis. I guess like throughout the season of hey,
- 10:59Speaker 3: here's what we're gonna look for more, and right now
- 11:02Speaker 3: it looks like they're going through disconcerting signals.
- 11:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:06Speaker 3: I see how they're playing some Vanderbilt tape and how
- 11:09Speaker 3: the defensive line move and it you know, simulates a
- 11:12Speaker 3: snap or whatever.
- 11:13Speaker 2: LSU got like four of those right defensive tackle two
- 11:17Speaker 2: flinches is left left arm. Ah, it'd be great if
- 11:23Speaker 2: you can see that versus here.
- 11:25Speaker 3: Uh, that looks like preview A and M if. I
- 11:29Speaker 3: had to guess with the color scheme, I can't tell
- 11:31Speaker 3: because they're backs to us.
- 11:32Speaker 2: We're watching like end zone copy. Dude, you know you
- 11:36Speaker 2: know a mess with Lutcher. I get it. It was
- 11:38Speaker 2: River any part of them all.
- 11:41Speaker 3: Right, wind totals for the teams that we saw yesterday,
- 11:44Speaker 3: l s U, Old Miss, South Carolina, and Vanderbilt. Right now,
- 11:48Speaker 3: l SU's wind total is set at eight and a.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Half over over over eight and a half.
- 11:56Speaker 3: Is it eight and a half game season eight and
- 11:59Speaker 3: a half that includes postseason no twelve games?
- 12:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm taking I'm I'm taking the over so fast
- 12:07Speaker 2: it would make your head spim.
- 12:08Speaker 3: Yeah, I think I actually I think disappointment would be nine.
- 12:14Speaker 3: I don't I don't think that that would be That
- 12:17Speaker 3: wouldn't be what anybody would want, you know what I mean.
- 12:19Speaker 2: So, unless something goes disastrously wrong, I just can't see
- 12:24Speaker 2: I can't find four losses.
- 12:26Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm not gonna tell you they're gonna win twelve games.
- 12:28Speaker 3: I have them as a ten and two football team.
- 12:30Speaker 3: I have been playing, you know, at least four or
- 12:32Speaker 3: five really good teams. Yeah, I can't find four losses
- 12:36Speaker 3: on our season.
- 12:37Speaker 2: All right.
- 12:38Speaker 3: The Old Miss Rebels said it eight and a half.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Okay, well let's see here. What do you got?
- 12:46Speaker 3: So I think because of their schedule, I think it
- 12:50Speaker 3: feels like a nine win team them and Missouri probably
- 12:55Speaker 3: Like when I look at schedule, I think actually lines
- 12:58Speaker 3: up the best, and so like when you look at Okay,
- 13:00Speaker 3: I'm trying to get them to nine wins in Georgia State, Yep,
- 13:05Speaker 3: two Lane, Washington State, the Citadel, Mississippi State, like those
- 13:11Speaker 3: are five that I can get right now for Old
- 13:14Speaker 3: Miss and even like, gosh, you look at games against Arkansas,
- 13:20Speaker 3: I can probably give you that, So that's six right there.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Now.
- 13:22Speaker 3: I would say at Kentucky, but they lost to them
- 13:25Speaker 3: a year ago, So it's can they win three of
- 13:28Speaker 3: the games at Kentucky, at Georgia, at Oklahoma, South Carolina
- 13:32Speaker 3: and Florida.
- 13:35Speaker 2: You know what as I lay this out, Yeah, it
- 13:38Speaker 2: might be an eight and fourteen. Yeah, I got you know,
- 13:43Speaker 2: five guaranteed wins. I'm gonna give them Arkansas. Yeah, I'm
- 13:48Speaker 2: gonna give him six there. Okay, at home, so they'll
- 13:53Speaker 2: have to be Kentucky. Yeah, gotta beat Oklahoma. That puts
- 13:58Speaker 2: them at eight. If they win those two games, then
- 14:04Speaker 2: they got to pull a Yeah, I got him an eight. Yeah.
- 14:06Speaker 2: I think they're eight and four football team. I mean,
- 14:08Speaker 2: obviously it's gonna depend a lot on how the new
- 14:09Speaker 2: quarterback and.
- 14:10Speaker 3: Close and I want to say, closer to nine than
- 14:13Speaker 3: seven Austin Simmons played, Yeah, you know what I mean,
- 14:16Speaker 3: like closer to nine than seven, but still eight and
- 14:18Speaker 3: four field. They lost a lot man, and I trust
- 14:21Speaker 3: Lane Kiffin to get Austin Simmons ready to go. Caden
- 14:25Speaker 3: Lee was a stud catching up with him yesterday. Incredibly
- 14:28Speaker 3: impressive young man. They've got some weapons on offense. If
- 14:32Speaker 3: Logan Digs is fully healthy. But I mean, you can't
- 14:36Speaker 3: lose what they lost in the front seven at Ole
- 14:38Speaker 3: Miss and just expect to be anywhere close to what
- 14:41Speaker 3: they were.
- 14:42Speaker 2: And last year they were a nine one football team. Yeah,
- 14:45Speaker 2: in one game. I was looking at that interest made
- 14:47Speaker 2: for on that schedule and trying to find wins for
- 14:50Speaker 2: them is to see, we'll see them tomorrow. But the
- 14:53Speaker 2: Florida game, what are they going to be this year?
- 14:56Speaker 2: How big of the step does DJ Lagway take November fifteenth,
- 15:00Speaker 2: I'll know exactly who both those teams are when Old
- 15:02Speaker 2: Miss faces Florida. But just trying to find an eighth
- 15:06Speaker 2: or ninth win for them, I got that one circled
- 15:09Speaker 2: as maybe it's depending on how Florida looks. What we
- 15:12Speaker 2: got a toss up there, all right?
- 15:15Speaker 3: So we continue moving on down the list of teams
- 15:17Speaker 3: yesterday over under win total South Carolina right now set
- 15:21Speaker 3: at seven and a half.
- 15:23Speaker 2: I'm surprised to.
- 15:24Speaker 3: See that number just because of all of the talk
- 15:27Speaker 3: around the game Cocks. They were a nine win team
- 15:30Speaker 3: a year ago. I also, look, if I'm going to
- 15:33Speaker 3: go out there and say what Old Miss lost on defense,
- 15:36Speaker 3: one of the things that's a little too quiet for me,
- 15:39Speaker 3: is what South Carolina lost on defense at every level. Now,
- 15:43Speaker 3: South Carolina's got some homegrown guys that I think are
- 15:46Speaker 3: ready to take a step, but I don't know if
- 15:47Speaker 3: they can take that big of a step.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Like you have one of the best pass.
- 15:51Speaker 3: Rushers in the country Stewart on the edge, but you
- 15:55Speaker 3: know what he doesn't have now Kyle Canard on the
- 15:57Speaker 3: other sidepos an All Conference player. I believe he's a
- 16:00Speaker 3: defensive player in the conference. So like you, hey, Bud,
- 16:04Speaker 3: like you know sometimes when you get those single blocks, yeah,
- 16:08Speaker 3: you're not getting a single one of those this year,
- 16:10Speaker 3: Like you're going to get double teamed tight end Chip,
- 16:13Speaker 3: running back Chip. I think they're a better team than
- 16:17Speaker 3: seven and a half wins.
- 16:20Speaker 2: Their schedule, So they have looking at their schedule South
- 16:26Speaker 2: Carolina State and Coastal Carolina towards the end of the season.
- 16:33Speaker 2: Everybody else here outside of got the SEC schedule. Then
- 16:37Speaker 2: they played Virginia Tech first game the season, and the
- 16:39Speaker 2: last game the season. Of course they played Clemson, so
- 16:42Speaker 2: they do have a tough schedule. But I think I
- 16:46Speaker 2: really liked listening to Shane Beamber yesterday. Impressive, highly impressive
- 16:51Speaker 2: the way. And then I'm betting on a quarterback here,
- 16:54Speaker 2: and I think Leonora's Sellers could be an I mean
- 16:58Speaker 2: he was last year, but I think he could take
- 17:00Speaker 2: that step and be an absolute dog this year. I
- 17:03Speaker 2: think you can a chance to see him in person. Yes,
- 17:05Speaker 2: I did not. It's bigger than I thought it was. Okay,
- 17:08Speaker 2: So Leonora's Sellers to me, has a chance to take
- 17:13Speaker 2: that next step and be a guy in college football
- 17:17Speaker 2: that could lead the charge in this Heisman. Right, agree,
- 17:22Speaker 2: because I think that he's got that ability. And I
- 17:24Speaker 2: think he's got that just hearing his coach talk about
- 17:27Speaker 2: him and reading a little bit more about him on
- 17:28Speaker 2: this past week. Uh, he's gotten an opportunity to take
- 17:31Speaker 2: a huge step forward and the way he plays a quarterback,
- 17:34Speaker 2: of his progression and things like that. So he's got
- 17:36Speaker 2: one of those opportunities to be a guy that can
- 17:39Speaker 2: absolutely dominate college football. And so I'm going to bet
- 17:42Speaker 2: on him, and I say seven and a half is
- 17:44Speaker 2: way low for them. I'll go over. Yeah, I'm gonna
- 17:46Speaker 2: go over for them still for scheduled and I'll miss them.
- 17:50Speaker 2: So do we agree? Right now?
- 17:51Speaker 3: L shu over Old miss under South Carolina over yes, okay, all.
- 17:54Speaker 2: Right, let's get to the Vanderbilt Commodores. All right, where
- 17:57Speaker 2: are we at Vandy? Their win total four and a half,
- 18:05Speaker 2: four and a half wins for Vanderbilt. Mississippi State's last
- 18:11Speaker 2: in the SEC at three and a half.
- 18:16Speaker 3: Okay, so there's two teams tied at four and a half,
- 18:21Speaker 3: Kentucky and Vanderbilt, and then State is three and a half.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Four and a half.
- 18:27Speaker 3: For that guy that I talked to yesterday, there's no chance,
- 18:31Speaker 3: there's no way, there's no way, there is no way.
- 18:35Speaker 2: The school, well, they got to it. So they got
- 18:38Speaker 2: Charleston Southern because they got a squad this year, the Bucks,
- 18:42Speaker 2: the Buccaneers a SCO base. No way, you knew that mascot.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Are you serious? I didn't know that for sure. Yes,
- 18:48Speaker 2: that's not common knowledge to anybody.
- 18:51Speaker 3: If you dabble in college basketball betting, it is, okay,
- 18:53Speaker 3: fair enough.
- 18:55Speaker 2: And they played Georgia State in their fourth game, but
- 18:58Speaker 2: Virginia Tech about them their scheduling in South Carolina, and uh,
- 19:03Speaker 2: Vanderbilt they play. Vanderbilt plays Virginia Tech second week of
- 19:06Speaker 2: the season and beat him last year. That's kind of
- 19:08Speaker 2: what opened our eyes. To Vanderbilt.
- 19:10Speaker 3: Oh Man, but look for okay, four and a half,
- 19:13Speaker 3: it's like Charleston Southern.
- 19:15Speaker 2: I'll still give him.
- 19:16Speaker 3: I know they lost last year, Georgia State, Utah State.
- 19:20Speaker 3: Are you telling me they just got to win two more?
- 19:22Speaker 3: And they've got Kentucky, they've got Auburn, they've got other Yeah.
- 19:25Speaker 2: Sure, So they got Auburn and Kentucky at home. They
- 19:28Speaker 2: go on the road to play at South Carolina, they
- 19:30Speaker 2: play at Alabama, at Texas, at Tennessee. You got to
- 19:34Speaker 2: mark those four down as losses. I would think six.
- 19:38Speaker 3: And six fields, but six and fills due, but at
- 19:40Speaker 3: least very du Yeah, five and seven phils.
- 19:43Speaker 2: I would hammer that that total and go over. The
- 19:47Speaker 2: guy that dropped two S bombs in an F bomb. Yeah,
- 19:50Speaker 2: within thirty seconds of meeting with the with these was
- 19:54Speaker 2: with the He bas.
- 19:55Speaker 3: Let's eff and go about his team in thirty seconds
- 19:59Speaker 3: because he got himself that fired up. Didn't know he
- 20:01Speaker 3: was on Syrius, didn't know he could say it. He
- 20:04Speaker 3: didn't care, didn't care. They didn't care that he said
- 20:06Speaker 3: he apologizes to nobody.
- 20:08Speaker 2: That's right. Yeah, let's go over. I'm gonna go five wins.
- 20:11Speaker 2: I'll go over as well, and of course Clarkley incredible, grip, strength, incredible.
- 20:16Speaker 2: That's another one six wins for them for me at
- 20:18Speaker 2: the six and six football team.
- 20:19Speaker 3: So right now, I'm l s U ten and two,
- 20:22Speaker 3: Old Miss eight and four, ten and two, Frills shoe.
- 20:24Speaker 2: I'm ten and two. What are you nine and three? No,
- 20:29Speaker 2: I'm definitely not nine and three. I was. I was
- 20:32Speaker 2: saying ten and two eleven one, Okay, I'm ten and two.
- 20:35Speaker 3: I'm ten and two right now on LSU Old Miss
- 20:37Speaker 3: eight and four, South Carolina eight and four, maybe nine
- 20:41Speaker 3: to three, but eight and four right now, Vanderbilt six
- 20:44Speaker 3: and six, So we got three overs in an under.
- 20:47Speaker 2: I wanted to go twelve and zh FURRELLI shoe, but
- 20:49Speaker 2: I wanted to keep my journalistic integrity in place. So
- 20:54Speaker 2: I got a bunch of that.
- 20:55Speaker 3: So I really care about Nicky, said Flynn, just panic
- 20:58Speaker 3: that he needed to know that Charleston Southern mascot that
- 21:02Speaker 3: I needed.
- 21:02Speaker 2: To I was shocked.
- 21:03Speaker 3: I'm a little I got like a little rain man
- 21:05Speaker 3: when it comes to that, like to like mascots and
- 21:08Speaker 3: small schools and mid major college basketball is like that
- 21:13Speaker 3: thing for me.
- 21:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I love it. It's I mean, it's shocking because
- 21:18Speaker 2: you are a degenerate gambler when it comes to college
- 21:22Speaker 2: basketball college basketball, and I guess I'm thinking about like
- 21:27Speaker 2: what platforms are out there that I've seen, the betting platforms,
- 21:29Speaker 2: and it does usually say like the mascot name, Oh
- 21:33Speaker 2: yeah for sure, Yeah yeah, so yeah, I guess you
- 21:37Speaker 2: know those things.
- 21:38Speaker 3: I also also do have a three hour show that
- 21:40Speaker 3: we have to talk about every theme and every sport.
- 21:43Speaker 2: But but Charleston Southern, I know you could talk a lot.
- 21:48Speaker 2: Do you think they got it? Their helmets gotta be
- 21:50Speaker 2: I don't know if you can see this big Yeah, yeah,
- 21:54Speaker 2: there's a helmets about seven thousand helmets Charleston Southern. Probably
- 21:59Speaker 2: I saw.
- 22:00Speaker 3: I think this is it. I'm gonna go with it.
- 22:03Speaker 3: I saw forkham Demons Northwestern stayed up there. I think
- 22:05Speaker 3: that's I think that's the thing. It's not like the Longhorn,
- 22:07Speaker 3: but it's like the Forkam Dean. I think that's it.
- 22:11Speaker 3: Oh man, I'm not confident in it right now. I
- 22:13Speaker 3: thought I was shoot, I know locy Intec is good dogs.
- 22:17Speaker 2: Okay, make the bulldog with your hand? Ye? Do you
- 22:20Speaker 2: know tc U s this It's like the girl this
- 22:26Speaker 2: already Gora text chreaching, that's who it is. They say that.
- 22:34Speaker 2: What do they say with the frog? Doesn't they have something? Uh?
- 22:38Speaker 2: I don't know, go frogs. That's something the horny toads.
- 22:44Speaker 2: I don't know what it is. We'll figure it out.
- 22:47Speaker 2: Alandra's laughing in the studio right now because of that
- 22:49Speaker 2: voice you just did.
- 22:51Speaker 1: Uh.
- 22:51Speaker 3: You know, it's something that you know. I've had a
- 22:55Speaker 3: lot of practice lately because I've done it on air.

- 23:05Speaker 3: BBB is going to crush competitive gambling? Don't know what
- 23:09Speaker 3: that is? Is it the new Better Business Bureau? Is
- 23:12Speaker 3: that what we're talking about the BBB? If so, let
- 23:14Speaker 3: you know, Uh So, I don't see anything crushing. Prayers

- 25:23Speaker 3: All Right, Welcome back in OTV one four five, ESPN,
- 25:26Speaker 3: bat Rouge, Moving right along here Dating number two SEC
- 25:29Speaker 3: Media Days in Atlanta, Georgia College Football Hall of Fame yesterday,
- 25:36Speaker 3: Matthew I was coming to look for you, see what
- 25:38Speaker 3: you're up to, and I got I got stopped by
- 25:42Speaker 3: our boy, Cole Kublick.
- 25:43Speaker 2: And you know, it's like a little quick little chat like, hey.
- 25:45Speaker 3: I'm going live here on YouTube, like let's you know,
- 25:48Speaker 3: let's talk a little lshum like col Coke cool ten
- 25:50Speaker 3: twelve minutes, you know whatever. Forty four minutes of talking
- 25:55Speaker 3: yesterday about SEC football. You certainly you joined us jump
- 26:00Speaker 3: him as well. One of the things that he was
- 26:02Speaker 3: talking about and he was asking me about, I think
- 26:03Speaker 3: it's actually a great question. He's that you can steal
- 26:05Speaker 3: this for your show to mars Like I didn't sit
- 26:08Speaker 3: here for forty four minutes for nothing. So he was
- 26:10Speaker 3: talking about when you're a quarterback and you're like a
- 26:14Speaker 3: new quarterback, like so you don't have any built up
- 26:16Speaker 3: equity and you play for a defensive coach. Now you've
- 26:20Speaker 3: done that throughout your career. A couple of different times
- 26:24Speaker 3: in the pros. We talked about Dennis Allen, which we
- 26:26Speaker 3: found out he was actually a good football player at
- 26:28Speaker 3: A and M yesterday from Billy Lucci.
- 26:31Speaker 2: Yeah, it was surprising. Surprised me.
- 26:34Speaker 3: Then you had obviously Nick Saban in college and he
- 26:38Speaker 3: started talk about it was like, you know, that certainly
- 26:40Speaker 3: is real. And I even mentioned I said, look Less
- 26:42Speaker 3: was an offensive guy.
- 26:43Speaker 2: He's an offensive line guy.
- 26:44Speaker 3: But that's the feeling I'm sure that a quarterback, a
- 26:47Speaker 3: new quarterback would have. YEP with coach Miles as well,
- 26:50Speaker 3: because he was so play elite defense, run the football,
- 26:55Speaker 3: make enough place through the air, don't turn the football over.
- 26:59Speaker 3: And you can say, well every says that, yeah, but
- 27:00Speaker 3: when you play for a defensive conservative, don't screw my
- 27:04Speaker 3: defense by turned the football over. I like the mindset
- 27:08Speaker 3: of that. As a quarterback, you have to feel like
- 27:11Speaker 3: you're perfect. And we said this yesterday multiple times. Football
- 27:15Speaker 3: is not supposed to be played to try to be perfect.
- 27:19Speaker 2: It's not a perfect game, especially on defense, right. Yeah,
- 27:22Speaker 2: And so the conversation you guys were talking about Auburn,
- 27:25Speaker 2: you know, getting ready for today, and the conversation started,
- 27:29Speaker 2: y'all brought me over there to give my opinion on
- 27:31Speaker 2: it as well, talking about Jackson Arnold coming over from
- 27:35Speaker 2: Oklahoma and with Brent Vinnables of course, really good defensive
- 27:39Speaker 2: coordator Clemson a long time. And just like, what is
- 27:43Speaker 2: the mindset of a defensive head coach, the messaging that
- 27:46Speaker 2: could be there, Not putting words in Brent's mouth, We
- 27:48Speaker 2: have no idea his messaging to them, but just talking
- 27:51Speaker 2: about a defensive coach to the mindset is you have
- 27:55Speaker 2: to inspire energy, like you want your guys to play
- 27:58Speaker 2: with their hair on fire. You don't want them to
- 28:00Speaker 2: think there's less thinking on the defensive side of the
- 28:03Speaker 2: ball than there is. I'm not saying that there's no
- 28:05Speaker 2: thinking that you got to play within the game. You
- 28:07Speaker 2: have to know your role, you have to know you know.
- 28:10Speaker 2: You got to watch releases of the number three, number two.
- 28:13Speaker 2: You got to watch the release of the running back.
- 28:14Speaker 2: There's a lot going on, but there's more exits and
- 28:17Speaker 2: notes thinking on the offensive side of the ball. So
- 28:19Speaker 2: then when you have a defensive coach, there's a chance
- 28:23Speaker 2: out there that it could be like, hey, we cannot
- 28:25Speaker 2: turn the ball over, we cannot throw picks, we we quarterbacks,
- 28:29Speaker 2: we can't throw interceptions, and we're the mindset of skill
- 28:33Speaker 2: positions that use their fine motor skills. Said any thrower, swinger, kicker,
- 28:39Speaker 2: you never want to even say put those words out there,
- 28:43Speaker 2: Like you don't want to tell a kicker, kicker off,
- 28:46Speaker 2: hey don't miss this field goal hitter. Yeah, yeah, it's all.
- 28:48Speaker 2: It's all. It's all common because you don't want them
- 28:50Speaker 2: to think too much about it because you train you
- 28:53Speaker 2: tens of thousands of throwing reps, kicking reps. Exactly do
- 28:58Speaker 2: you want them to think if I'm.
- 29:00Speaker 3: Lining up about the run calendar, I'm like, I don't
- 29:02Speaker 3: care if you call time out.
- 29:04Speaker 2: It was always there's always like an offensive room, an
- 29:06Speaker 2: offensive team room. When you're when you're addressing an offense,
- 29:10Speaker 2: addressing a quarterback room, you never bring up the word
- 29:13Speaker 2: interceptions Like that's just the thing, Like you don't say
- 29:16Speaker 2: the word interception, right, It's like, we can't throw interceptions here,
- 29:19Speaker 2: blah blah blah unless the only time I've ever really
- 29:21Speaker 2: heard it is the day after game we're reviewing film, like, yeah,
- 29:25Speaker 2: we can't throw this interception right here or whatever. But
- 29:27Speaker 2: when you're here, it's like, hey, we can't turn the
- 29:29Speaker 2: ball over here. It's just one of those black ball things,
- 29:33Speaker 2: like you just don't a taboo. You can't say you
- 29:36Speaker 2: speak you speaking positive language, you speak out, even just
- 29:39Speaker 2: control the Yeah, let's uh, ball security. We have to
- 29:41Speaker 2: focus on ball security today because as a quarterback, you
- 29:45Speaker 2: cannot be walking up to the line of scrimmage saying
- 29:48Speaker 2: all right, don't throw pick. Yeah, don't throw pick. It's
- 29:51Speaker 2: like a you know, a batter stepping up into the
- 29:53Speaker 2: batter's box saying don't strike out, don't strike out, don't
- 29:57Speaker 2: strike out, a kicker, don't miss, don't miss, don't miss.
- 30:00Speaker 2: And if I think sometimes a defensive coaches might have
- 30:04Speaker 2: the inclination to say those taboo words that will instill
- 30:08Speaker 2: like some sort of mindset, because on defense, it's.
- 30:10Speaker 3: Like get it back, get the ball. So if you're
- 30:13Speaker 3: talking to the offense, it's like, you know, don't throw
- 30:14Speaker 3: a pick. It's the opposite of what I've always been training.
- 30:17Speaker 3: Don't throw that pick. And we talked about like the
- 30:20Speaker 3: confidence level at a quarterback. And I brought up the
- 30:23Speaker 3: Jayden Daniels' first year at LSU and why I was
- 30:26Speaker 3: a little bit critical of him when he first got
- 30:29Speaker 3: here because of his confidence level. You could tell like
- 30:32Speaker 3: in his mind he wasn't getting fed this information. But
- 30:35Speaker 3: in his mind he was like, don't throw a pick.
- 30:37Speaker 2: Be perfect. I have my legs, I can I can
- 30:39Speaker 2: fall back on that, So don't take the chance down
- 30:42Speaker 2: the field. And we saw him struggle early on, really
- 30:46Speaker 2: early on with getting through progression, progression, progression.
- 30:49Speaker 3: Yeah, he just had another least set where he could
- 30:52Speaker 3: make a place or.
- 30:53Speaker 2: It's down the field and I see the guy. I
- 30:56Speaker 2: think I can make the throw, but I'm gonna play
- 30:58Speaker 2: it safe. I'm gonna tuck it and do what's comfortable
- 31:00Speaker 2: to me. And you mentioned how Brian Kelly had to
- 31:04Speaker 2: tell him throw an interception. You know what, just throw it?
- 31:10Speaker 2: Do you I want you to throw?
- 31:11Speaker 3: Do you remember the Tennessee game that year is a
- 31:14Speaker 3: day game in Tiger Stadium and the TV caught it.
- 31:16Speaker 3: Brian Kelly meets Jaden on the hash and he's like
- 31:20Speaker 3: he could read his lips. He's like, it's one on
- 31:22Speaker 3: one coverage, Yes, throw, yeah, throw the ball like he
- 31:28Speaker 3: wanted him to try to not be reckless, but to
- 31:31Speaker 3: take you know, take advantage of what they're giving you
- 31:33Speaker 3: take a chance. From that moment on. If you remember
- 31:36Speaker 3: that season, that's when it flipped it click.
- 31:38Speaker 2: Now, he had some moments, but there was so many
- 31:41Speaker 2: like you saw even before that. You saw like the flashes,
- 31:45Speaker 2: and that's why I think people were a little critical
- 31:48Speaker 2: on him. I'll take ownership in that because I you
- 31:51Speaker 2: saw what could be. Yeah, you saw how good it.
- 31:56Speaker 2: But at playing the quarterback position, he was just hesitant.
- 31:59Speaker 2: And I say it all the time like he made
- 32:01Speaker 2: the biggest transition of a quarterback I'd ever seen in
- 32:06Speaker 2: a very short period of time. And what a testament
- 32:08Speaker 2: to him. But it just proves that point of the
- 32:11Speaker 2: mentality of the fine motor skill positions and you cannot
- 32:17Speaker 2: you have to have that confidence level. And Brian Kelly
- 32:21Speaker 2: is really good. He's obviously one of the top coaches
- 32:25Speaker 2: in the country. He knows that messaging. He's like, hey,
- 32:27Speaker 2: I get it, like you don't want to make a mistake.
- 32:30Speaker 2: I respect that and I appreciate that as a quarterback
- 32:33Speaker 2: because you're trying to take care of the ball. You.
- 32:35Speaker 2: Turnover ratio is one of the probably the biggest stat
- 32:40Speaker 2: that reflects wins and losses is turnover ratio. So I
- 32:44Speaker 2: get it, like you're doing great, Hey, but guess what
- 32:47Speaker 2: throw it pick? Yeah? Do it? Yeah, let it rip
- 32:50Speaker 2: because I think it's going to surprise you if they
- 32:53Speaker 2: have positive outcome. Because we got guys and you're talented.
- 32:56Speaker 2: You can make those throws. And you got to understand
- 32:59Speaker 2: if it's one on one and our guy knows where
- 33:01Speaker 2: he's going and the dB doesn't, we have the advantage
- 33:04Speaker 2: and it just takes that confidence level. Can a defensive
- 33:07Speaker 2: coach give that advice?
- 33:09Speaker 3: Like if Brian Kelly was a defensive coach, do you
- 33:11Speaker 3: think he would have said the things to Jayden that
- 33:13Speaker 3: he said, like give up a D ball? Yeah, Like, hey,
- 33:17Speaker 3: maybe it kind of appended. Yeah, pull the trigger because
- 33:21Speaker 3: like I look at it like a blitzer, like someone
- 33:23Speaker 3: like a rusher. You want them to get full speech.
- 33:26Speaker 3: So when I'm looking at this list, I'm like, okay, yep.
- 33:27Speaker 3: Lane Kiffin would tell his guy sling it. Uh, Shane
- 33:30Speaker 3: Biember would tell his guy to sling it.
- 33:32Speaker 1: Uh.
- 33:33Speaker 2: Steve Sarkisian Yeah, Josh hobby.
- 33:35Speaker 3: Yeah, Kirby ain't saying that, you know what I'm saying,
- 33:38Speaker 3: like Kirby brin venables it and saying that Mark Curbys.
- 33:41Speaker 2: I think Kirby is a season enough great coach.
- 33:44Speaker 3: But even like I mean coach Saban, I guess wasn't
- 33:46Speaker 3: as bad as people might have you know, thought he
- 33:48Speaker 3: was as like a defensive coach and taking care of
- 33:51Speaker 3: the ball, like he wasn't like that uber conservative like
- 33:53Speaker 3: a lot of people fall. But it's just defensive coaches, certainly,
- 33:57Speaker 3: if they've got like an elite defense, that would be like, hey,
- 33:59Speaker 3: don't screw us, We'll take care of you, but don't
- 34:02Speaker 3: put us on the twenty with our back against the
- 34:04Speaker 3: goal line.
- 34:05Speaker 2: Right, and they score in two plays, right, And I've
- 34:08Speaker 2: never heard a coach before Brian Kelly say that. Right, Yeah,
- 34:12Speaker 2: throw a pick, because what a great way just to
- 34:15Speaker 2: paint a picture to a quarterback like, hey, let a rip, dude,
- 34:18Speaker 2: you're good enough. But yeah, when you start thinking about
- 34:22Speaker 2: it too much, the hardest pass for a quarterback to
- 34:25Speaker 2: complete to somebody wide open because you start thinking about
- 34:28Speaker 2: it too much. And it's a reaction sport. You want
- 34:30Speaker 2: to be prepared. You want to have the hand the bar,
- 34:32Speaker 2: You want to know what to do with the ball
- 34:34Speaker 2: and just react. Let your training take over at that point.
- 34:37Speaker 2: And just because when he's wide open, you're trying to
- 34:38Speaker 2: guide it. You're trying to guide it. When you're trying
- 34:40Speaker 2: not to throw pick, you're trying not to throw a pick.
- 34:43Speaker 2: I might may not pulling the trigger.
- 34:45Speaker 3: Harder route to throw a like ten yard stop route
- 34:49Speaker 3: where a guy's wide open turning his numbers to you,
- 34:53Speaker 3: are like a two yard flat route to like a
- 34:56Speaker 3: back that nobody went out with him and you got
- 34:59Speaker 3: to throw it at him on Yeah, two yard flat route,
- 35:02Speaker 3: you rather throw that one.
- 35:03Speaker 2: No, that's the hardest one. Yeah. Back in the day,
- 35:07Speaker 2: like the old school, like bubble routes, bubble passes, those
- 35:10Speaker 2: were hard anything running backs, like wide routes or flat routes. Yeah,
- 35:15Speaker 2: it's just you have to you got to figure out
- 35:17Speaker 2: how as a quarterback, you gotta just finally be like, man,
- 35:19Speaker 2: I'm just gonna rip it. I'm just gonna rip this ball.
- 35:22Speaker 3: We were playing against the Patriots one year and I
- 35:25Speaker 3: ran We called it an M route.
- 35:26Speaker 2: It was a little bit different than the swing.
- 35:27Speaker 3: It was a little slower, a little deeper, like heavy
- 35:29Speaker 3: emphasis on help out your tackle before you get out.
- 35:32Speaker 2: Like kind of like a like a almost just outside
- 35:35Speaker 2: the inside the number, kind of swing round.
- 35:37Speaker 3: Yeah, And so I ran one of those, and you know,
- 35:40Speaker 3: I get out late. Philip has pressure. He throws it
- 35:42Speaker 3: like at my feet and like my hands on the ground.
- 35:45Speaker 3: I try to catch it. It skips like right at my
- 35:46Speaker 3: feet or whatever, and I stopped playing. I'm going back
- 35:48Speaker 3: to the huddle, and all of a sudden, I hear
- 35:50Speaker 3: the Patriot coaches like get it, get it. I'm like,
- 35:53Speaker 3: get what the balls that he threw it to me
- 35:55Speaker 3: is in front it's it bounced in front of me,
- 35:58Speaker 3: and they called it lateral no, and all of us
- 36:02Speaker 3: were walking.
- 36:04Speaker 2: Yeah. I was like, that's a four pass.
- 36:06Speaker 3: And Vrabel picks it up and he starts like lugging
- 36:09Speaker 3: down the sideline.
- 36:10Speaker 2: I think it was him, at least maybe it was
- 36:13Speaker 2: that man.
- 36:13Speaker 3: They all were built the same, every every white outside
- 36:17Speaker 3: linebacker for the Patriots for fifteen years. And I'm like, oh, actually,
- 36:21Speaker 3: I guess I should go chase him.
- 36:24Speaker 2: He's got but.
- 36:25Speaker 3: That but that route, I mean, even like somebody like
- 36:27Speaker 3: it's hard. It's it's like I was open and he
- 36:29Speaker 3: through and it kind of like it just went to
- 36:31Speaker 3: my feet and it ended up going the other.
- 36:34Speaker 2: Way when it happens just like mel Gibson said when
- 36:38Speaker 2: he was fighting the British say, I hadn't heard mel
- 36:40Speaker 2: Gibson quoted in a while, was fighting the British small
- 36:43Speaker 2: miss mom uh that in The Patriot? Yep, oh yeah
- 36:46Speaker 2: it was. I think you believe he was telling the
- 36:48Speaker 2: late Heath Ledger that. Yep, it's a good advice RP.
- 36:54Speaker 2: All right, anything else, anything showing No, I just really
- 37:01Speaker 2: wanted to fit the Patriot into this at some point.
- 37:05Speaker 3: Oh, we need to we need to come up with
- 37:07Speaker 3: a word for you to fit into every show.
- 37:10Speaker 2: Yeah. So when you know you've seen super Troopers, there
- 37:14Speaker 2: was one new course screen bay like we were like,
- 37:16Speaker 2: who can save Mew the most pressing press interview? I
- 37:19Speaker 2: bet Aaron one he won. Yep. There was always something
- 37:22Speaker 2: that was like, I bet you can't say this, and
- 37:24Speaker 2: it was usually like, yeah, oh, vulgar, but you can't
- 37:28Speaker 2: fit this into an interview if it's like somebody that
- 37:32Speaker 2: always fitted in more TV. When we come back off

- 39:19Speaker 3: It is checks the date this Saturday, July the nineteenth,
- 39:24Speaker 3: joined Hunt Palmer and the crew at LBARSH Baton Rouge, ESPN,
- 39:27Speaker 3: Bett Sportsbook four The Ultimate UFC three one eight watch
- 39:32Speaker 3: party happening again this Saturday. It is going down for
- 39:37Speaker 3: the BMF title. You know what to be a mess
- 39:39Speaker 3: stands for.
- 39:44Speaker 2: Something. Wait.
- 39:46Speaker 3: I said that like the most sarcastic way, because you
- 39:49Speaker 3: knew what it meant and.
- 39:50Speaker 2: You weren't gonna say it on air. We'll come back
- 39:53Speaker 2: to that.
- 39:54Speaker 3: You're gonna have Dustin Poitier in his last fight against
- 39:56Speaker 3: Max Holloway.
- 39:57Speaker 2: It is going to be.
- 39:59Speaker 3: An absolute battle Hunt Palmer, which is funny, and the
- 40:03Speaker 3: crew are gonna be at Laber's checking that out. I
- 40:05Speaker 3: know Alandra's fired up she'll be in the number. She'll
- 40:08Speaker 3: be in attendance there at UFC three one eight. So
- 40:12Speaker 3: again watch party at Laber's this Saturday, July nineteenth, oh
- 40:18Speaker 3: Elandra I knew what it meant. I'm shocked at. I
- 40:22Speaker 3: was just a growing man next to me did not
- 40:24Speaker 3: know what it means.
- 40:25Speaker 2: I was trying to figure out some other no way
- 40:28Speaker 2: to use that acronym. Nope, nope, nope, nope, you messed
- 40:32Speaker 2: up and win the BMF award here at Radio Row
- 40:36Speaker 2: for morning shows.
- 40:37Speaker 3: I dare somebody take it from us. I told you
- 40:40Speaker 3: I got called, you got McElroy mac. Let's go, let's go,
- 40:43Speaker 3: you know LSU. Actually I'll help you with Carl about
- 40:47Speaker 3: four seconds right. LSU actually started giving the BMF title
- 40:53Speaker 3: each and every week too after they won, and it
- 40:56Speaker 3: was pretty cool. So whoever whoever won it, they got
- 41:00Speaker 3: like a former player that had like, you know, a
- 41:02Speaker 3: moment kind of like that to film a video and
- 41:04Speaker 3: present it to him and explain why he was the BMF.
- 41:07Speaker 2: I forget who T Bop did. T Bomp did it once?
- 41:09Speaker 3: I got a chance to do the first one, and
- 41:11Speaker 3: it was Jade and Daniels after Missouri at Missouri Incomo.
- 41:16Speaker 3: I don't know if you remember that. He had like
- 41:17Speaker 3: a like a broken rib, he had like a busted elbow.
- 41:19Speaker 3: He had blood dripping down his hand. Uh, he had
- 41:22Speaker 3: a back deal and he just like he would like
- 41:24Speaker 3: take a deep breath, find his way along the scrimmage, clap,
- 41:28Speaker 3: get the ball, and then go fight forty yep. And
- 41:30Speaker 3: he come back and he like looked like he's about
- 41:32Speaker 3: to die. Come back, clap, throw it for thirty. Like
- 41:35Speaker 3: it was incredible. Now that that might be the most
- 41:38Speaker 3: fun I've ever had doing a video. I like, I
- 41:41Speaker 3: called him like, hey, like this is the BMF title.
- 41:44Speaker 3: I'm you know, I don't want to overstep here. I
- 41:46Speaker 3: was like, but I don't really think the acronym like
- 41:49Speaker 3: does it justice. They're like, oh no, no, no, no, we
- 41:51Speaker 3: want every syllable.
- 41:55Speaker 2: Oh that's good, nothing more to you. Never want to
- 41:56Speaker 2: show weakness to your opponents, someone you're playing a physical
- 41:59Speaker 2: game with. Yeah, but there's nothing more demoralizing when you
- 42:01Speaker 2: do show weakness and you still gashing them. That is
- 42:05Speaker 2: some BMF stuff right there. Here we go t pal
- 42:08Speaker 2: and the chat said BMF badass Matt Flynn Boom okay,
- 42:15Speaker 2: that's what it stands for.
- 42:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know. I don't know those fat ankles.
- 42:19Speaker 3: I don't know how bad they were.
- 42:20Speaker 2: They're not fat, they're strong. You know this you had,
- 42:24Speaker 2: Did you wear those.
- 42:26Speaker 3: Fat ankle braces because you didn't want people to know
- 42:28Speaker 3: which ankle was hurt?
- 42:29Speaker 2: I wore those fat ankle braces because when we got
- 42:32Speaker 2: to LSU, it was a requirement to either tape your
- 42:35Speaker 2: ankles or wear the braces. And I didn't like the
- 42:38Speaker 2: way tape felt. I didn't like the way the ankle
- 42:41Speaker 2: braces felt. Certainly I didn't want to do any of
- 42:44Speaker 2: it because at the time I was in the belief
- 42:47Speaker 2: I kind of still am is. If you wear the braces,
- 42:49Speaker 2: you make the ankle weaker. Ooh, that's like my sunscreen
- 42:53Speaker 2: take please expand. Well, you make the muscles weaker, you
- 42:56Speaker 2: make the stability weaker. That's why you see soccer players
- 42:59Speaker 2: with a lot less like knee injuries and stuff because
- 43:01Speaker 2: they don't tape their ankles. They do not and so
- 43:04Speaker 2: like my coach when I was in high school, he
- 43:07Speaker 2: wanted me to wear knee braces in practice, and it
- 43:09Speaker 2: was like not like the metal ones that just going
- 43:12Speaker 2: It was like the sleeve knee bros with the metal
- 43:15Speaker 2: so like talking about last night you had a tiler watch.
- 43:18Speaker 2: It was it was less sexy than that, if you
- 43:21Speaker 2: can believe it. And I was like, coach, like, I'm
- 43:24Speaker 2: wearing this all day, all week, but not in the game.
- 43:27Speaker 2: Like my my legs feel weaker, and so I feel
- 43:30Speaker 2: like I'm more susceptible. So I didn't want to tape them.
- 43:33Speaker 2: I don't believe in it. There you go, my tike.
- 43:37Speaker 3: We need somebody to call into the show. Uh, you know,
- 43:40Speaker 3: maybe not. This week's not the best. Jack Marucci paging you.
- 43:44Speaker 3: I have heard a rumor, yep, and I heard this
- 43:47Speaker 3: in DestinE from I forget which coach. It might have
- 43:49Speaker 3: been Kirby, that they don't tape ankles anymore because there
- 43:55Speaker 3: was a study of exactly.
- 43:56Speaker 2: What you're talking about. Brain right here.
- 43:58Speaker 3: I swear to God, true story, seriously, the study where
- 44:00Speaker 3: to God. So I've always believed it and I did
- 44:03Speaker 3: read it. I remember it was it was it was Kirby.
- 44:05Speaker 2: It was lame.
- 44:06Speaker 3: It was like one of those like you know, established
- 44:08Speaker 3: SEC coaches were like, yeah, our guys don't take their
- 44:10Speaker 3: ankles anymore, right, they can I'm sure the options there.
- 44:14Speaker 3: It's not mandatory what he said. He's like, it was study.
- 44:17Speaker 2: It was man, and it was those nasty like white
- 44:19Speaker 2: braces that like had the shoe string all the way up. Buddy.
- 44:23Speaker 3: I remember I tried to stand at least one player
- 44:25Speaker 3: between me and you and the huddle, just in case.
- 44:27Speaker 2: And let me tell you, they didn't smell good after
- 44:29Speaker 2: a while. I don't love that, No, it's it was.
- 44:33Speaker 2: It was terrible, but I did when I had my
- 44:36Speaker 2: ankles brand I did spat up. Nothing makes you look
- 44:40Speaker 2: sweeter than a little spat though.
- 44:42Speaker 3: The only time Les really ever got mad at me
- 44:45Speaker 3: we had we had a practice and he's like, I'm
- 44:47Speaker 3: tired of guys wearing their individual stuff.
- 44:49Speaker 2: We were going to wear this uniform, We're gonna do this,
- 44:51Speaker 2: We're gonna wear.
- 44:52Speaker 3: This color socks, this color cleats, blah blah blah blah blah.
- 44:55Speaker 3: And I was like, Oh, I'm gonna be a smart ass.
- 44:57Speaker 3: I I'm a senior, like he likes me.
- 44:59Speaker 2: I'm man. I roll into practice.
- 45:01Speaker 3: I had on like Advisor taped ankle our tape spat
- 45:06Speaker 3: like over my cleats. I had like black tape on
- 45:08Speaker 3: my wrist like just trying.
- 45:09Speaker 2: To be funny. He didn't. He didn't find the funny.
- 45:12Speaker 2: Hey wouldn't He didn't laugh, He didn't laugh. Well, I
- 45:15Speaker 2: mean you were always roughling the feathers of the rules,
- 45:17Speaker 2: like skirt right on that edge. You too are take
- 45:20Speaker 2: a lap, make it a long lap. Look at a
- 45:22Speaker 2: big one.
- 45:23Speaker 3: Bet all right, we'll take our last break of hour
- 45:28Speaker 3: number two, coming back your way, hour number three of
- 45:30Speaker 3: OTP off the bench, all right when we get back.
