- 0:12MBR talk. Hey, thanks for supporting our
- 0:15channel by watching and listening.
- 0:36We hit the ball. I promise you one thing.
- 0:38We're going to hit somebody and we're taking downfield
- 0:40protective. I guarantee you that.
- 1:04Good. Morning, ladies and gentlemen.
- 1:08It is Wednesday, September 23rd. We're here in Westminster, Co
- 1:14for another edition of the finals.
- 1:16Time out got my man man caveman here to the left to the right of
- 1:20me, directionally challenged. Another busy week of college
- 1:26football in the NFL We've got. A couple of post seasons though
- 1:32soon to start caveman. So before we jump into all the
- 1:35football action, I want to take a look at this this post season.
- 1:39Picture and how it's shaping up for the MLB so.
- 1:47It changed in the last two weeks we had.
- 1:50The. Cleveland Guardians jump up to
- 1:52the two seed White Sox on a bit of a slide.
- 1:57Some of their fans and they they weren't even really hopeful that
- 2:01they would make the postseason. But either way, this is a much
- 2:05better season than you've had in recent years.
- 2:08I'm I'm I'd still be happy. And just two years ago, you set
- 2:12a record for like the worst, having the worst record in
- 2:15modern baseball. They almost had a first round
- 2:18bye. That's a good turn around in
- 2:21just two seasons. But the help of of the Murakami
- 2:25fellas is a beast. So everyone who has officially.
- 2:32Clinched the playoff spot. We've got the Rays, Brewers,
- 2:35Dodgies, Dodgers, Yankees, Braves and Red Sox.
- 2:40They've all clinched. I believe actually last night
- 2:42the Brewers just clinched a first round by so they will for
- 2:46sure be a top two seed. The likely still be the one
- 2:50seed. OK, so and like I know the
- 2:57Dodgers and Brews have definitely both clinched their
- 3:01their divisions the the Central and the West.
- 3:04They're the 1st 2 divisional winners.
- 3:07It looks like the Braves, yeah, Braves on Sunday did clinch the
- 3:11NL East. So those.
- 3:15Three are all. Set.
- 3:16We know now for sure that the Brewers are going to be one of
- 3:19our teams that get a buy. I don't really know.
- 3:24If the Braves can catch the Dodgers.
- 3:28Realistically, I mean, they're 5.
- 3:29Games back so probably not so I would imagine you'd you'd
- 3:32probably assume that LA Dodgers are going to be your second yeah
- 3:37team to get that by there but looking we're on the the MLB
- 3:43saying that the tightest races right now we've got the the NL
- 3:47wild card it's the Cubs Phillies and Padres they're all tied in
- 3:51that race all. Right.
- 3:53Yeah. So look at those standings
- 3:57there. Yeah, those three teams all have
- 4:00the exact same record, so. Wow, you're yeah, 87 and 70,
- 4:07dude, that's going to come going to be down to the final week.
- 4:11Let me see how many games are exactly left.
- 4:15So those all three of them. Can make it.
- 4:18It's going to just kind of be entirely dependent on seating.
- 4:22So, you know, you're like, who do you want to be playing at
- 4:25this point? You know, the Diamondbacks,
- 4:30they're still in it. Technically, they've got their
- 4:34four games back in the Padres. I think the games are the Padres
- 4:38half left. They're going to need the Padres
- 4:40that kind of really go on a skid here, though they do end the
- 4:47season to play them so. I mean, there's a chance the
- 4:50Padres missed because the Padres are going to be in LA and then
- 4:54this is going, it's going to be massive.
- 4:56The Diamondbacks have. What a way to end your.
- 4:58Season they finished that series playing the Padres so you're
- 5:01going to probably like we'll probably be looking at that
- 5:05series determining that final wild card spot I mean.
- 5:08And it goes up until Sunday. Tuesday is going to be the first
- 5:13wild card series for for the MLB, so.
- 5:19So it looks like, I mean just last night Padres lost 7 to
- 5:23nothing to the Dodgers so. Very.
- 5:25Losable situation for them there and I believe.
- 5:29What a final six games, Yeah. And that is?
- 5:32It's, I mean, the Diamondbacks, they've got the benefit.
- 5:34They're playing the Rockies. I was actually, I went to that
- 5:37game last night. It was seven.
- 5:40Yeah, seven I was. Watching it on.
- 5:42I was watching it last night. We weren't good.
- 5:45We weren't even competitive. I think me and my buddy we.
- 5:48We we took off. In the ninth, because we were
- 5:50like, well, this is this is over.
- 5:53I'm going to have to go and and catch a game and see if there's
- 5:56some cheap seats, see if my see if my brother won't take us out
- 6:01to the game or something. If there's any, I mean, it's
- 6:05it's the Rockies. Come on.
- 6:06Yeah. I don't.
- 6:09I think you might have to go. I don't know if they they might
- 6:12be away in Seattle to finish the year.
- 6:15So after this series. I at least want to try.
- 6:18I know they're at Chicago, but yeah.
- 6:21I at least want to try that 9 by 9 that they have because that
- 6:25doesn't even look hard. It is.
- 6:27It's small portions. It's not even like a ballpark
- 6:31hot dog in the ballpark beer. Did they really?
- 6:34Even buy one get one hot dogs last night so I got two dogs
- 6:37for. For 10 bucks, pretty good deal.
- 6:41Hopefully they maybe they'll use that profit sign some players.
- 6:47Probably not. All right, back to some of our
- 6:50other tight races, so the AL West.
- 6:54That's going to be your tightest division race.
- 6:57Astros and Rangers are tied right now.
- 6:59The Astros currently have the, excuse me, currently have the
- 7:05tiebreaker at the moment. And then in the AL Central, the
- 7:09Guardians lead the White Sox by one game.
- 7:12And then you're looking at the wild card right now with the
- 7:15White Sox and Rangers not holding the lead in their
- 7:20divisions. They are in that looking at that
- 7:22final kind of wild card spot, so.
- 7:26It's interesting. They lead.
- 7:28Sox are really like back and forth between the two and the
- 7:33six seed are really wherever, wherever they get seeded.
- 7:39So one game back of Cleveland. That two weeks really didn't
- 7:44hurt them that much. With this many games left,
- 7:47Cleveland could lose it. I like Central's pretty close in
- 7:54Detroit and Minnesota. No, the the Tigers had a bad
- 7:59year. I wouldn't even say a 74 and 84
- 8:02is very good because. No, I'll say there's a lot less
- 8:07teams that are eliminated because you look at the Rays,
- 8:11Yankees and Red Sox have all. Clinched.
- 8:12Technically, the Blue Jays and Orioles aren't mathematically
- 8:16eliminated. It's pretty unlikely, but they
- 8:18aren't mathematically eliminated.
- 8:24It's like you're likely going to come down to.
- 8:26The Astros and Rangers to get that fight, like whoever wins,
- 8:32that's going to get the final division winner.
- 8:35And then I'm still going to give it to, you know, whoever comes
- 8:40out of the Central, the second team is going to be our final
- 8:43wild card there. Probably.
- 8:46All right, let's take a look at the White Sox right now.
- 8:49They've got the Royals. They had the heater the other
- 8:52night. That's right, 14 to 11, it's
- 8:54going to be the Royals and then the Rockies that close the year
- 8:57out. So that's.
- 8:59Low key, that's kind of a nice. Schedule to end it on not.
- 9:03Bad. So we see the Guardians, if I
- 9:08they're playing the Red Sox right now and then the end of
- 9:12their season, they'll have a series against the Royals, so.
- 9:17I think that favors the White Sox just a little bit more to
- 9:21potentially win more games out of all that and.
- 9:26They do have the benefit they get.
- 9:27Their final series is at home. The Guardians remaining 5 games
- 9:32are all going to be on the road. She'll make that a little
- 9:35tougher for them. Yeah.
- 9:37So. Realistically, I think there's a
- 9:40good possibility we see the White Sox.
- 9:43Take the Central, the Guardians are going to be that final wild
- 9:46card team and then you're going to have.
- 9:52And it's close. Between the Astros and the
- 9:53Rangers, let's look at who's Astros are rounding out their
- 9:57season playing the Mariners, and then their final series is going
- 10:00to be the Athletics. So they've got one more game
- 10:02against the Mariners and then they've got four games at the at
- 10:06the A's. So.
- 10:08Very, very winnable games there for them.
- 10:12Good chance they can close that out.
- 10:14But the Rangers, again, are tied with them, so let's see here.
- 10:18They've got the Mets, that's who they're currently.
- 10:21In the series with and then the finish the year it's the twins,
- 10:28which they're. Already eliminated, they didn't
- 10:30have a good year really either. Yeah, so all teams that are
- 10:34already. Mathematically eliminated maybe
- 10:37could be trap game or two in there that's going to be that
- 10:41could. Go either way I mean I could see
- 10:43them each team winning all those games or or splitting so yeah I
- 10:48mean I'll. I'll give it.
- 10:52The slight edge to the Astros because I think they're just a
- 10:55slightly better team. If I had to make a call it now,
- 10:58I'd say I think that I have more faith in Houston to come out of
- 11:03that, but it's really close. It could go it could go either
- 11:06way. All right, so that would give us
- 11:12some potential look at these potential first round matchups.
- 11:17From what I've been hearing from Braves fans, if they actually
- 11:20end up getting San Diego instead of Philly, they'd like that
- 11:23because Philly has just a a knack for upsetting them in the.
- 11:27Postseason, even when they're the better team, so that that
- 11:30looks pretty favorable. For it's a match up that they
- 11:35probably win cuz Padres are coming out of a pretty tough
- 11:40last five games of the season. That would set up an awesome.
- 11:44NLDS between the Braves and the. Dodgers I do like, like, I
- 11:50really like the. Braves bats, but man, it's it is
- 11:53kind of Chris Sale in the dream when it comes to that that
- 11:57pitching staff. It can be like sales, phenomenal
- 12:04as always, but. The rest of that, the rest of
- 12:08the pitching. Staff, I'm just like, I don't
- 12:11know if I trust them. And playoff baseball, it's going
- 12:16to be a lot different. As.
- 12:17Much as well. It's like when you have like a
- 12:20team like LA that has. That's just so got back with
- 12:25hitters, yeah. Got to have a bullpen for a team
- 12:28like that. Because that's The thing is
- 12:29like, you know, like regardless. Of how well you pitch are
- 12:32they're going to get their their hits they're going to get some
- 12:34of those big runs and everything yeah, they're.
- 12:37Still going to make plays. And so Atlanta's a team that I
- 12:41think is built that they could go.
- 12:43Run for, run with, you know. With the Dodgers.
- 12:50If they have a better pitching staff, I think like LA has got
- 12:53the better pitching staff and so like because there there's some
- 12:58great bats on on Atlanta too, but it's just like.
- 13:05I really see that that series still probably going to six or
- 13:09seven games. Oh, definitely, definitely.
- 13:14I still say, I still think there's an outside chance that
- 13:17they could get it, but. Yeah, realistically, you're
- 13:21looking at maybe. Your top 2.
- 13:22The top 2 seeds are probably your best shot at it.
- 13:25The Brewers, I I mean, the Brewers couldn't this might be
- 13:29the year they get past the Dodgers.
- 13:32We'll see like they they have probably the best, you know,
- 13:36pitching staff, bullpen in the league.
- 13:38I mean, they're just so. Deep there, but what happened to
- 13:41them last year then what I'm not like 100% sure isn't just going
- 13:44to happen again as their bats went cold.
- 13:46Yep. And if that happens, I don't
- 13:50know. They were.
- 13:52They were out of that series quick last year against the
- 13:56Dodgers and again it was a dominant season. 2 years last
- 14:01two seasons for Milwaukee so. Yeah.
- 14:04And that's where like I'm looking at.
- 14:06So our 45. Could be the Cubs and the
- 14:09Phillies. I think the Cubs can probably
- 14:12win that series. That's going to be really close.
- 14:14That'll be a really close one, but I'm going to give it.
- 14:18The slight edge to the Cubs there, I think they don't.
- 14:22That's that's the other thing is where?
- 14:24Just a hotter team. Got one of the best players in
- 14:27the league. Yeah.
- 14:28On the Cubs really think they. And that's where I think like
- 14:32the Brewers might even get upset by the Cubs if their bats go
- 14:35cold. Like I don't like the the Cubs.
- 14:40Again, it's a team when you look at their.
- 14:41Pitching staff, it doesn't really, like move you or or
- 14:45strike fear into you. No, but if you go if your bats
- 14:48go cold. And you can't top that offense.
- 14:53Yeah, but when that when that offense is hot, like I mean,
- 14:55they can put up runs in a hurry. So like that, that could be
- 15:01where that becomes a sneaky almost trap game for the Brewers
- 15:06if they if they come out lackluster on the offense or if
- 15:10the same thing happens again. So you're going to need them to
- 15:13not. Not wilt under the lights and
- 15:17let's get looking over at the ALR potential first round
- 15:20matchups we got the the White Sox and the Astros, which I
- 15:24think the. The White Sox could win that
- 15:25series, definitely. That's very winnable series.
- 15:30If they do come in as a six seed I mean.
- 15:33That's a really, that's a 81 win, six seed.
- 15:37Yeah, right now. And I mean, I think they they
- 15:39could be the better team than the Astros and a best of three.
- 15:43I think that they could easily win 2 two games against that
- 15:47team. And I mean then against the
- 15:49Guardians. That'll be a.
- 15:50Close back and forth one, but there's you know, they there's
- 15:54no reason that they couldn't, but those teams couldn't that
- 15:59could go either way in my opinion, so.
- 16:03If it if it holds. Up with like what the playoff
- 16:05picture is now, there's a path where that's the that's what you
- 16:11see as your as your potential first round matchups.
- 16:15There's a path to the ALCS for the White Sox.
- 16:19Certainly an easier. One than the other sock team
- 16:22that's going to likely have to It's looking very likely that
- 16:27they're going to have to play their beta rival in the first
- 16:31round of the postseason. Yankees who won't team.
- 16:35That's been dominant. Won't have Aaron.
- 16:37Judge, I believe he's going to be.
- 16:40He's going to miss. At least the wild card round
- 16:42with an injury. So that could, I mean that that
- 16:45might be it. He might be out for the rest of
- 16:47the season if they can't, if they can't win.
- 16:52That might be a a positive. Though for the Yankees, where
- 16:56you don't have Aaron Judge having the back in the big
- 16:59moments, yeah. We're really like in the field,
- 17:04yeah. But that's can you say that
- 17:07about the rest of their guys that they have that were there
- 17:09last year too, because they they just let that whole series
- 17:14crumble in their hands. That's true.
- 17:17Last year. I don't know, like right now I
- 17:21think, well, I look at the ALC, the AL playoff.
- 17:27Picture. For me it doesn't.
- 17:29Seem that crazy that Boston could go to the to the World
- 17:34Series? I'm looking at really Boston and
- 17:37Tampa Bay are the two teams I've got my eye on.
- 17:40Like, I think the White Sox have a good.
- 17:42Path it I'm, I'm going, it's going to be who it's like coin
- 17:47flip in the ALDS because I think the White Sox beat the Astros
- 17:50and then whoever, you know, we go the five games in that one.
- 17:55Whoever comes out goes to the ALCS.
- 17:57But I think either team is losing to who?
- 18:01Regardless of any of the three teams on the other side of the
- 18:03bracket make it, whether it's the Yankees, Red Sox or Raise, I
- 18:07think all three of those teams are better than the Guardians.
- 18:12On their built to or deeper. To go and win the seven game
- 18:16series against them or the OR the Sox so.
- 18:21It it just kind of feels like though, like whoever.
- 18:24Wins the AL is just playing for the right to go lose to the NL
- 18:28team this year because it yeah, lose to.
- 18:33The NL team this year it's yeah, you're.
- 18:35They are not. None of their teams really are.
- 18:39Like you're saying. There's only three teams that
- 18:41are really deep enough really have the the bullpen and the and
- 18:46the bats to really match up, at least to make it.
- 18:50But is it really going to be that close to the series?
- 18:52You've got some really stacked teams because I mean even like
- 18:55some of your less deep teams by the annual.
- 18:58Standard like the Cubs, your Phillies, maybe even the Padres,
- 19:02like I think would match up well with some of the best teams from
- 19:08the AL. So it's just the National League
- 19:12is just that much better. I would say if I get if I'm
- 19:17going to give any team a shot to.
- 19:21Pull off a crazy upset and win it for the ale.
- 19:24I think the Red Red Sox are the best team.
- 19:26Like when that team gets has been on a hot streak, I mean,
- 19:32they're as good as anyone in baseball.
- 19:34And that's sometimes like that's what the post season can be is
- 19:36just getting hot at the right time.
- 19:38So yeah, again, if they they find another, they get on
- 19:42another hot streak and they just they get going like they have
- 19:45been at different points this year.
- 19:48I mean because. This was a team that like.
- 19:50End of end of June we were like felt like they were dead in the
- 19:54water and that had no hope of being in the postseason.
- 20:00That's how Toronto was able to make it a series last year
- 20:03against LA. Yeah, they were just getting hot
- 20:06at the right time. So.
- 20:10Yeah, drop your your MLB playoff.
- 20:13Predictions in the in the comments.
- 20:18Let us know who you're rooting for.
- 20:20We'll also take a quick. Look at the WNBA standings.
- 20:23Those playoffs begin on Friday. So I mean, we've known what the.
- 20:28Field is going to look like for a while.
- 20:32And I believe we've got like what?
- 20:38Not too many games. Left No.
- 20:41There's two today and then I think 4:00 tomorrow.
- 20:46Yeah, like 2 days, 5 tomorrow and then we're.
- 20:51Four playoff games on Sunday. And then we're done.
- 20:54Yeah, the playoffs start on Sunday.
- 20:55So at this point, we're pretty, I think we're.
- 20:59Pretty sure what the seedings going to be looking like, I
- 21:02don't know, maybe Dallas and New York flip.
- 21:06Are they? Let's see, are they playing?
- 21:09Dallas has Seattle is at Seattle tonight.
- 21:11Atlanta is New York Hat is hosting Atlanta tonight.
- 21:18So. Wings have been playing some
- 21:21really nice basketball on their longest career winning streak
- 21:26right now, I think, oh, they just broke it that I think they
- 21:31won 16 games straight before they lost, Yeah.
- 21:34They were really they were on fight had some really good
- 21:37momentum. Yeah, yeah, it was the the
- 21:40Mercury of all teams that snapped their winning streak.
- 21:43Yeah, it's been been eliminated, but.
- 21:46It must have been earlier in the year because it looks like they
- 21:49lost one in the in between there, the Valkyrie and the
- 21:52fever. They were on a six game-winning
- 21:54streak, but. They broke a franchise record
- 21:59this season for for a win streak.
- 22:03They've. Just been done.
- 22:05They've been looked like a different team, man.
- 22:07Pageback is leading it. Yeah, her and Jessica Shepherd's
- 22:13been super efficient. She's shooting like 57% from the
- 22:18field. It's a they're going to be an
- 22:21exciting team in the postseason, but I think Minnesota or Golden
- 22:27State Dallas is a team that really.
- 22:30Thrives off of their offense being able to be fast-paced and
- 22:34moving and like those are two teams that are really good at
- 22:37forcing you to you to slow down. Minnesota has has always been a
- 22:43really sound defensive team and then Golden State I, I was just
- 22:47their their defense has just been on another level this year
- 22:51and they just absolutely control the tempo of the game.
- 22:54I mean, it's. You look at where they're at
- 22:59like the other top. 4 seeds are all averaging 91 or more points
- 23:03per game. 75. And then?
- 23:0675 points per game. That's who they're that's what
- 23:09they're holding people to. They're only averaging 82.
- 23:11Like they they don't score a lot.
- 23:13This isn't like a an explosive offense, but they are just.
- 23:17Best defense in the league? I think that like.
- 23:19Let's see they're seven points better than the next closest
- 23:25opponent points per game. Like your next best team is the
- 23:29Mystics. It looks like a 82 1/2 like
- 23:34that's just how good the Valkyrie Valkyries are at
- 23:38controlling the pace. Second year in there and
- 23:40they're. They're going to likely be a
- 23:43likely going to be a top two seed if we're just.
- 23:47Operating off of the assumption that the playoff, this is what
- 23:50the state, the seeding we're going to have, which is pretty
- 23:52likely, we might see some A-Team or two move up or down a spot.
- 23:58But our first matchups, Minnesota versus New York, NY's
- 24:02just had a tough a tough season. They've struggled to really find
- 24:06some consistency. So that's not a great match up
- 24:09for them against a team that's been just the most consistent in
- 24:13the league. They score a lot of points that
- 24:16he played. They still play defense really
- 24:18well. They're just they've got weapons
- 24:22all over the floor, whether it's in the post with the fees of
- 24:24Collier, Olivia Miles, the rookie sensation, it's just
- 24:30Caleb McBride's knock. It can knock down threes from
- 24:33anywhere on the court. It's I think that that one you
- 24:37that's probably a sweep there. The Wings and the Valkyries.
- 24:41I do think Dallas is explosive enough to maybe pop off for one
- 24:44game and steal one of that. But I would say with Golden
- 24:48States, they're going to be just a tough out in general because
- 24:51of how well they play defense. So I would probably give.
- 24:58I would say is it it's the best of?
- 25:00Is it the best of? Three round one I think is what
- 25:03they do for the WNBA and then the rest of them it's best of
- 25:08seven. It's either it's either best of
- 25:12five or best of three, but it's a shortened series in the first
- 25:16round between the two teams. And I really think it could be
- 25:23the only the only real way I see Dallas upsetting in that series
- 25:28is if Kalia Copper and Page Becker's are just having an
- 25:33amazing, amazing shooting night. Yeah, which like you're kind of
- 25:41just. Banking on them like like
- 25:43they're going to have to be making like every shot and like
- 25:46it it's going to be tough. Yeah, it looks so it's a.
- 25:50It is best of three so you can. OK, it's going to be tough
- 25:54contested shots, though. They're going to have to make
- 25:57tough baskets in this game, be able to get to the line as well.
- 26:04It's going to be, it's going to be a tough series for for
- 26:06Dallas. That's your thing is you're
- 26:09going to have to try to generate some takeaways or turnovers and.
- 26:16Get create some. Fast break opportunities for
- 26:20yourself because that'll be the best way to like if you're
- 26:23having to come up and, and into the half court offense and, and
- 26:27set plays and try to dissect and make your way through this
- 26:32Golden State defense. It's going to be very difficult.
- 26:35But if you can create some, some chaos and, and get out, get out
- 26:40and run that, that'll create some good opportunities for me.
- 26:43But that's easier said than done.
- 26:46A three six match up going to be it would be the the Mystics and
- 26:52the Aces. I think the the big thing here
- 26:59with the Mystics. Another team like that has been,
- 27:03I mean you look at how their their points per game and then
- 27:05how many points again they're allowing.
- 27:07I mean they really are living on the edge like they're they get
- 27:10into close match ups. Can they find a way to limit
- 27:15Asia? Because if they can do that,
- 27:20they might be able to slow down. Vegas's offense a bit, but all
- 27:26that chance that they experienced the time they agree
- 27:28I just I think. It's an experienced team versus
- 27:32probably the youngest team in the league.
- 27:35How many draft picks are starting that their rookies on
- 27:39Washington right now? Like majority of their rosters
- 27:42like first second year players besides Shakira Austin is like
- 27:48their main veteran like they're leading rebounders.
- 27:51Kiki Arafin got to be a second year player.
- 27:56We got Sonia Citron there. Lauren Betts is getting around
- 28:0018 minutes a game. You know, it's just a very young
- 28:03team. So where you have an Aces team
- 28:07like that, I mean, that's this is she's a pretty.
- 28:09Good match up for Asia. She's really big.
- 28:14I mean, she can hold her ground, but it's just.
- 28:17They have the size match, but again, it's just it's the it's a
- 28:21veteran advantage that that they're going to have in this
- 28:25series. Like it's going to be some
- 28:28battles. We we might even see a couple
- 28:31game, maybe a game where where Lauren Betts has her day against
- 28:36Asia Wilson, but it's going to be tough.
- 28:39One thing to keep will be interesting to note for Vegas.
- 28:44Now Alissa's Nihilissa Smith is going to be out.
- 28:49At least she's. She's out for the remainder of
- 28:51the season. Dang, So that'll be something to
- 28:56watch. Yeah, that's going to be
- 28:57something to watch there A. Non contact leg injury Dang.
- 29:02But you look at there's, it's a lot of it like that that'll.
- 29:07Suck for the front court cuz that that it does kind of put a
- 29:10lot more on Asia in the front court.
- 29:13But you look at it, it's just a very experienced roster.
- 29:16Asia, Jackie Young, Trinity Carter, Chelsea Gray, Jewel
- 29:21Lloyd, like they've been doing this for for a long time and
- 29:25they've been in these moments a lot before.
- 29:28So I think you're just the the lights, yeah, these young teams,
- 29:36the lights are going to. In a shortened series too, like
- 29:40the Vegas isn't going to be playing around and they're not
- 29:43going to allow, they're not going to allow any upsets.
- 29:47The four or five match up though, is really one of my
- 29:50favourites. Intriguing, yes, the Dream and
- 29:54the fever. Caitlin Clark finally need to
- 29:59see your second year in the post season.
- 30:02Get to get to see see her healthy Kelsey.
- 30:07Yeah, her. Kelsey Mitchell, Leah.
- 30:09Boston, they're all going to be, should all be healthy.
- 30:12So I'm going to just double check that for sure.
- 30:14Look at that. That's really who I'm looking
- 30:16out for. I think Kelsey Mitchell had a
- 30:18better season than Caitlin. Kelsey.
- 30:20Mitchell by by quarter mile. Kelsey Mitchell was the best
- 30:24player on this team. Like Caitlin was was fantastic
- 30:28too. And there's a reason that
- 30:29they're the number one offense in the country is because they
- 30:32have probably the best. Backcourt duo, but I would say
- 30:37that a. Very close second and it might
- 30:40even be like A1A1B thing is the Jordan Canada Ryan Howard from
- 30:47backcourt duo of Atlanta so. That's why I'm ready for this
- 30:50series because we got some matchups that I I want to see.
- 30:55You've got just two elite like both teams have elite.
- 30:59Scoring options and their backcourt, 2 elite scoring
- 31:03guards and then they've got some great, they've got some great
- 31:08bigs in the front court. You know, Aliyah Boston versus
- 31:11Angel Reese will be a very will be an interesting matchup that
- 31:15just both do some really great things there in the paint.
- 31:20Angel's been improving a lot. Yeah.
- 31:22Great year from her you. Know I don't know if you saw.
- 31:25Plus double double S for her. Did you see like it'll be
- 31:30interesting like watching the those two kind of go back to
- 31:33rivals because were you watching any of the feeble or did you
- 31:36see? Any of that they had like her
- 31:38and Caitlyn had like a really great connection rather than the
- 31:42pick and roll. Oh, really?
- 31:43Feeble. Oh yeah.
- 31:46I didn't get to watch too much of it over the summer.
- 31:48I know there's kind of that rivalry there, but just that
- 31:52from everything I saw, they have like great chemistry off the
- 31:55pick and roll. So it's kind of like it's, it's
- 32:02a cool thing though to see when you can.
- 32:06Go, you know, there's all this like intense rivalry when you're
- 32:09playing in like the league, but then you go get on the national
- 32:12team and they're like to just be able to put all aside and have
- 32:15great synergy. Obviously our girls team just
- 32:18kicked ass. They won the gold medal, won the
- 32:20tournament, so. The last two seasons US have
- 32:23been eliminated so. They're getting us.
- 32:27In men's, that's true Women's. They've been dominating.
- 32:30U.S. team just dominates every every Viva.
- 32:33Cup. I'll say it.
- 32:34The international scene in the women's basketball starting to
- 32:36catch up, but it's still that's, it's still our, our goal to lose
- 32:41at this point, all right. Well, let's let's go ahead and
- 32:44hit. A a quick break here.
- 32:48When we come back, we'll jump into all the college football,
- 32:52all the NFL and break that all down for you because it was a
- 32:57crazy week again, as always. So don't go in here.
- 33:01You're watching the final time out here in military broadcast.
- 33:06Let our veterans voices be heard.
- 33:11Wondering what MBR does? We give veterans, first
- 33:15responders and families a voice through podcasting, gaming,
- 33:20animation, and 3D printing. Every conversation builds
- 33:24connection, purpose, and hope. Join us and help change live a
- 33:28mixer and flow as a DJ on the. I learned how to operate a mixer
- 33:33and interview veterans to share their struggles of the past so
- 33:36others can learn about navigating the transition.
- 33:38I learned how to use this video capture card so we can talk to
- 33:41veterans like our guest today about the navigation of their.
- 33:44I only knew how to draw flies before MBR.
- 33:47Now I know how to create design cartoons with my words, and now
- 33:51I. Hi, my name is Quacker.
- 33:52Before I knew nothing on 3D printing.
- 33:54Now look at me, I'm making both boots and key chains for my
- 33:58family. The station
- 34:31All right. Welcome back, ladies.
- 34:32And gentlemen, you're watching the final time out.
- 34:35You know military broadcast radio crazy week around the
- 34:40NCAA. Week 3 is in the books.
- 34:43We've got a couple of guys making great Heisman cases.
- 34:49Some surprising upsets and some teams that one, but you don't
- 34:54really feel great about it. So we're going to go ahead and
- 34:58get into all of that. And we'll just start with, well,
- 35:03I'm gonna call the the top 25 recaps is starting there at the
- 35:06bottom with #25 Virginia, one of our teams to get upset.
- 35:11They lost to West Virginia, 38 to 27.
- 35:16Great game out of the Mountaineers.
- 35:21They ran the ball really well. ABS with some explosive plays
- 35:25for them down the field. Yeah, they really limited, but
- 35:29like Beau Privlo looked, he was really good through the 1st 2
- 35:33games, but he looked super uncomfortable back there, that
- 35:37defense. Did a great job of couldn't.
- 35:39Get him disrupted, run. Yeah, at all.
- 35:43So the Cavaliers dropping out of the top 25 and West Virginia, I
- 35:49believe, got some votes. They they might have taken their
- 35:53place. Now we've got the team that won
- 35:55their game. But can't feel too great about
- 35:58that. That was Oklahoma barely
- 36:02squeaking out the victory against the Lobos. 14 to 6.
- 36:07John, the tear continues to struggle.
- 36:10I mean, the passing percentage wasn't as bad in this one as it
- 36:14was against Michigan, but he completed 19.
- 36:19It was 25 passes, but he's just really struggling to push the
- 36:22ball down the field. He doesn't look really
- 36:25comfortable back there and Oklahoma could not run the
- 36:29football at all. Their old line is not good at
- 36:34all. So I kind of, you know, that's
- 36:35kind of the reason that John Metier is always so
- 36:38uncomfortable back there the last two seasons.
- 36:42But even when the pockets clean, he doesn't really step up at the
- 36:46right time, feel like he's his eyes are kind of glued to his
- 36:50first read. And if he doesn't really have
- 36:53that open, he takes off to run. Especially against Michigan, he
- 36:58made a lot of nice third down runs that were getting either
- 37:01held back or he just didn't quite make it to the marker.
- 37:05But in in both games, he's really hadn't hadn't had any
- 37:10protection, no run game to really go back off.
- 37:14I mean, you can't Superman every single game.
- 37:17So this is kind of the one where you thought maybe John Matier is
- 37:20going to go Superman, but he goes and throws 2 picks and you
- 37:24have 61 team rushing yards. Yeah, I mean, the only saving
- 37:30grace for this Sooners team is that again, they have a very
- 37:33elite defense. They recorded 6 sacks and this
- 37:36110 tackles for a loss. Obviously, I mean, they held the
- 37:39Lobos to six points. They didn't really, they weren't
- 37:43really able to generate any takeaways in this one, but they
- 37:47limited the run game. They held the New Mexico that
- 37:50just 116 yards passing. Like the reason this thing was
- 37:54close was that the offense just wasn't doing them any favors.
- 37:58They had the 2 interceptions. Satanga had a good.
- 38:02Game but he fumble as well so it yeah I mean Oklahoma's going to
- 38:08need to get. Their offense figured out and I
- 38:11do want to just highlight their upcoming schedule is brutal.
- 38:16Georgia, Texas, Kentucky, who just beat A&M&A&M, Mississippi
- 38:22State, who just crept into the top 25 and has been looking
- 38:27really explosive. And then it's like.
- 38:30An OK South Carolina team and then it's a Florida team old
- 38:34miss and there might be a winnable matchup for him and
- 38:37then they end the year with Missouri, but they it's.
- 38:39They only have two conference games this season that aren't
- 38:43ranked. That is.
- 38:45And Kentucky honestly should be right.
- 38:47They should be. Like I I would say A&M shouldn't
- 38:49be ranked. Kentucky shouldn't be ranked, so
- 38:52it would still probably be the same, but yeah, I like.
- 38:56That is insane. You got you got to go to
- 38:58Georgia, like not really the place you want to be to try to
- 39:02get your. Offense back on track.
- 39:04This might be like a a three or four win Oklahoma team.
- 39:10They might just This might be bad.
- 39:13That's not ridiculous. I mean, I've seen nothing from
- 39:17this offense that gives me any help that they're going to get.
- 39:20They're going to improve. Another team that was a little
- 39:24lackluster in their victory, the Mizzou Tigers.
- 39:28Just this 10 point win over. The Troy Trojans, 27 to to 17.
- 39:34Crowder, that's sick. Trojans quarterback Goose
- 39:38Crowder, Yeah, he had himself a a solid game, did 232
- 39:43touchdowns, Did have a pick. Austin Simmons, man like this
- 39:46guy? What a comeback.
- 39:49Was really limited in this one. I mean, they did run the ball a
- 39:53lot. Jamal Roberts on the back, he
- 39:56kind of carried the team. 22 carries.
- 39:59Yeah, God. It was weird.
- 40:00Like, I just like Missouri's offense, just besides.
- 40:06Does it not look weird to you that like they don't ever
- 40:10really, I don't know. It feels like they don't have a
- 40:13very deep wide receiver room or something or like their
- 40:17offensive identities. Not really to like throw, I
- 40:20don't know. If you look at their.
- 40:21Past two games, they scored 54 against Arkansas Pine Bluff and
- 40:2538 on Kansas. I'm not really sure I feel about
- 40:28this. I kind of feel like it was maybe
- 40:29just an off game for them. Like all of it.
- 40:35Really just came in the second quarter.
- 40:38They scored 24 of the 27 in the second quarter, but even at that
- 40:43point they were only up by 7 1/2 time because they the defense
- 40:47gave up 17. This this was just a weird game
- 40:52where is like all the. Offense kind of just came in
- 40:54like 1/4 for Mizzou. They were down 10, nothing out
- 41:00at the end of the first. Same as the.
- 41:02Full moon. Yeah, yeah, this.
- 41:05Weird. The weird game.
- 41:06One of those weird games where I I'm not necessarily ready to hit
- 41:10the panic button. I mean the defense.
- 41:12Was locked down and shot in the second-half, in the second-half.
- 41:16So they did. They did a great job, just it
- 41:20was. One of those.
- 41:21Strange games that doesn't make a ton of sense.
- 41:26All right, Michigan, we're not too much to really jump into
- 41:29here. They, it was close for a little
- 41:31bit, I'll say that. They UTEP was only down by like
- 41:343 points near the end of half. Yeah, at halftime, Michigan.
- 41:39Came to life and scored 35 in the second-half and blew them
- 41:43out 50 to the 17 when you only complete. 10 passes as a team
- 41:52for 92 yards. It's going to be hard to win.
- 41:59Hey, Ann Arbor, I'm just going to put that out there.
- 42:02But. It really doesn't even seem like
- 42:04they how many total? OK, 32.
- 42:08I thought it's a 12 team carries total.
- 42:10I was like, Oh my God, how do they even have the ball?
- 42:14They had 15 pass attempts. Yeah, this game is just.
- 42:18How do you feel about Bryce Underwood, though?
- 42:21I go add more when we talk about the game.
- 42:23But I mean, he's really he's kind of really showing me he's
- 42:27he could be one of the guys. I mean, when he least gets back
- 42:31into the pocket, he doesn't just stare off into one.
- 42:35His first read. You can see him diagnosing with
- 42:39the coverage and everything as the play is developing.
- 42:43He's good at he's good at that pre snap analysis and it's post
- 42:47snap reactions. That's that's being a
- 42:50quarterback trying to diagnose pre snap and what's your
- 42:53reaction while the play is happening and what are they
- 42:56actually showing you? So when he.
- 42:58Looks doing a good job. When he looks comfortable and.
- 43:02There isn't a lot of pressure. I think he's pretty good, but.
- 43:05He does still. For my liking, have a bit too
- 43:09much of A tendency to take off and run when it isn't there.
- 43:11I do like Michigan should. I liked what they really did
- 43:14with him against Oklahoma where they got some designed runs for
- 43:17him and they obviously they had that big one that went for a
- 43:19touchdown. That's something, I think.
- 43:21That they should just strive to keep doing this, getting those
- 43:23design runs for him and let him use his athleticism so.
- 43:28He goes and just takes off. I think really Michigan's OK
- 43:32with that too because he's just like, he literally, he looks
- 43:35like Cam Newton, dude. He's freaking massive compared
- 43:38to everyone on the field. He's like, he's freaking huge.
- 43:43Right. And he?
- 43:43Threw for 200. And 23 yards, but you look at
- 43:46that and 105 of it went to Andrew Marsh, Another 92 went to
- 43:54JJ Buchanan. So again, like it's the.
- 43:57They played U tab. The going through the reeds is
- 43:59it. It's something that maybe leaves
- 44:02a bit more to be desired still. But Elliot?
- 44:06Like against Oklahoma is when he did it, he did a better job.
- 44:10Like against a really tough defense like that, This is a
- 44:13game where you just throw it up to your guy.
- 44:15They're freaking destroying you. They paid Utah what, probably 2
- 44:20million to come play them. Michigan's a strange.
- 44:24Team, I don't really know how I feel about them.
- 44:26I think we'll have a better. Understanding of what how this
- 44:29team's going to be. They play Iowa this week.
- 44:32OK, that's going to be a really good game.
- 44:35Speaking of Iowa, they just. Dismantled Northern Iowa 55 to
- 44:42nothing. I think Iowa deserves to be
- 44:44ranked a little higher because you look at their, I mean they.
- 44:48Do have a pretty? Signature winning the rivalry
- 44:50game against Iowa State so. What is that back-to-back weeks?
- 44:55Yeah, at Michigan, Ohio State. Oh my, I'm at.
- 44:59Washington, which is still fairly tough game.
- 45:01Washington because the case to potentially be ranked as well.
- 45:05So yeah. They've got a tough three-game
- 45:07stretch, but after that, I mean that's gonna be a real test for
- 45:13that team. Ohio State's gonna be a tough
- 45:15one, but I think. They've got a shot to beat
- 45:19Michigan. I think they've got a good shot
- 45:20to beat Michigan, so. It's gonna be Ken Brown.
- 45:30Is he gonna like how much is he gonna have to play quarterback
- 45:33cuz? He isn't throwing for a ton of
- 45:36attempts. He did what he was. 100% in this
- 45:39game, but I mean, you're playing Northern Iowa.
- 45:42Hank Brown maybe? Yeah, love them.
- 45:44That they, I mean, they run the ball really well.
- 45:48Good look at that. 422 yards through 6 touchdowns. 3 rushers
- 45:53over 100 yards. Yeah.
- 45:56God, it's. Going to be that's going to be a
- 45:57lot tougher. To do though, against this
- 45:59Michigan defensive front, like they're going to have to be able
- 46:02to throw the football or Hank's going to have to throw the
- 46:04football more than 10 times. So that's but they're Iowa still
- 46:09got a really good defense. I think they'll be they'll do a
- 46:11good job again after Underwood potentially making him
- 46:14uncomfortable and. Yeah.
- 46:18We'll see that's that's going. To be one of our top matchups to
- 46:21watch. Utah, Utah State, I mean, 33 to
- 46:26nothing Utah crushed. I mean, you kind of expected
- 46:29them to maybe score more, but you'll, you know, you'll take a
- 46:3333 to. Nothing, shout out.
- 46:35Dylan Dampier looked really sharp.
- 46:37Utah's going to be a sneaky. Good team though, I think in the
- 46:39Big 12 I've liked a lot of what I've seen out of them so far.
- 46:43Braden Pagan having himself a really good season.
- 46:46He's up to 235 yards, 3 touchdowns.
- 46:52That's a really good story. Yeah, I mean, especially because
- 46:56like there's he's, they've been in some games where it's just
- 47:00turned. Into absolute blowouts too so
- 47:02they they've brought out if they've brought out the starters
- 47:05a good amount but. The youths, I think they're
- 47:08getting their first, the first real.
- 47:11Test is going to be against Iowa State.
- 47:13They did crush Arkansas. So, I mean, it's not like
- 47:15they've just been beaten up on like FCS or Group of Six teams,
- 47:20like they have played the power conference team.
- 47:23Arkansas's not that good, but it's still, you know, FCC
- 47:26school. That's still a win on on their
- 47:29resume. But it's their, it's their
- 47:31defense. I got like, they've got some
- 47:33really great corners. They get good pressure, they can
- 47:37force some turnovers like Batman, Dude, Rabbit Evans.
- 47:42There we go. That's yeah.
- 47:46And again, like when they're one of those teams, if they can, if
- 47:50they establish the run on you, they're going to be difficult.
- 47:53OK. This was one of our top games of
- 47:56the week though. Louisville.
- 47:57And SMU, let's let's dive into this one a little bit.
- 48:03I will say not Lincoln Kean. Holtz didn't have a ton of ton
- 48:12of yards in this, but I've been. Really impressed with what I've
- 48:14seen for him this season. And he obviously.
- 48:18Like they just really got the run game going.
- 48:20And like Kealong Brown, dude, he was so explosive in this on just
- 48:2710 carries, racking up 163 yards and two touchdowns.
- 48:31Like the SMU defense was just Swiss cheese.
- 48:34Like him and Isaac Brown. Like the Brown and Brown just
- 48:38absolutely carved up this SMU run defense.
- 48:43So like they didn't really need to throw the football to yeah,
- 48:48put move it down the field so. I, I agree with what you're
- 48:51saying about about Lincoln. I think for the rest of my life
- 48:55I'm just going to, I'll go with saying that the Louisville
- 49:00quarterbacks good. I think that's we just got to go
- 49:04and say the Louisville quarterbacks good every single
- 49:06year. It was both teams in this game
- 49:09just putting up a clinic on the ground.
- 49:11Each team had over 200 and 55 rushing yards. 265 for
- 49:16Louisville, 257 for SMU. 7 total touchdowns on the ground between
- 49:22each team. SMU should have won this game
- 49:24though. They were winning.
- 49:26They were winning and trying to run the clock out and Kevin
- 49:28Jennings fumble. Yeah, and gave them an
- 49:31opportunity. Jennings, man, he is.
- 49:34He can be so. Electric, but that turnover
- 49:37problem is just still a huge issue for him and it's it's been
- 49:41costing them games. I mean, they nearly lost to
- 49:46Florida State because of the turnovers, and then this game,
- 49:51it really did. They were they?
- 49:54Were they? Cost them.
- 49:55He had the two interceptions as well.
- 49:57It was bad. 3 turnovers in this game, he let Louisville stay in
- 50:02it and that's what that's what developed their run game and
- 50:05that's what really got their offense going.
- 50:07Their defense got them the ball back like early in the game.
- 50:11SMU got the stops to at least get a lead.
- 50:16They shot him out in the second quarter.
- 50:19So you could go up by 3 1/2. And then, like, it really
- 50:23doesn't even look like Louisville was really down if
- 50:26you look at the box score. So SMU had that short lead go up
- 50:3220, Ford to 14 in the third. It was and he.
- 50:37Turned the ball over 3. Times it was a.
- 50:39Really good, like even back and forth.
- 50:42But Louisville was just wholeheartedly better in the
- 50:46fourth quarter. That wasn't they were making bad
- 50:49mistakes. I want to look at the like, you
- 50:55want to look at this game like here's where the problem with SM
- 50:59us they're also. They they've been squandering
- 51:01opportunities because. The reason?
- 51:04Like Louisville probably didn't pull it with the sooner.
- 51:07They struggled on 3rd down for a lot of the game and then like
- 51:10the penalty yardage, they kept setting themselves back with the
- 51:14penalties and. So I mean, like SMU didn't do
- 51:19themselves any failures. They had eight penalties for 82
- 51:22yards, but Louisville 11 penalties.
- 51:24For 110 yards was yeah, it was really bad.
- 51:29But yeah, like SMU just had. I think they just.
- 51:35Had more of those destructive mistakes and it was it was
- 51:39really the like Louisville protected the football.
- 51:42Because both teams were. Pretty sloppy in terms of in
- 51:47terms of. Penalties.
- 51:50Neither team was. Super efficient on 3rd down.
- 51:52I think it's us and he was like 5 for 14 so it wasn't like they
- 51:56were super. Good 50% and I mean.
- 52:00Plenty of explosive plays on both sides of the ball like in
- 52:04the run game for the yard rushing touchdown for Rafael and
- 52:07he ran for 197 yards and three touchdowns.
- 52:11Key Keylon Brown ripped off a 58 yard yard there for a touchdown
- 52:16so. Yeah, you had.
- 52:19Plenty of explosive and big plays.
- 52:21I mean like there were plenty of those 3040 yard receptions on
- 52:25either side. So it's.
- 52:28Kind of sucks man. It's good.
- 52:30We're really seeing kind of SMU just like falling apart in the
- 52:35last two seasons. And what's this game really felt
- 52:40like it's going to have massive implications for who gets who's
- 52:46who's going to compete in the ACC Championship?
- 52:48It really feels like it had massive implications.
- 52:52Those early conference games like that, when you face off
- 52:56against another high-ranking opponent in your conference,
- 53:00both of you are in the top 25 and that's like that's going to
- 53:05be based on that, on whichever team seeding come post season if
- 53:10they want to make that type of run.
- 53:12Also you look at the. ACC.
- 53:14And it's like are realistically like.
- 53:16How are you going to who? Like you you Miami looks.
- 53:20Unstoppable. So like that's.
- 53:22Chance they go undefeated. Conference play.
- 53:26Right, like you you have to give Miami you got to say like Miami
- 53:31is going to be they get there probably there yeah, like I
- 53:34don't they. Get their flowers.
- 53:35Unless they drop something that does happen with Mario Chris
- 53:40Ball teams where they'll lose to an inferior point.
- 53:42But I just like. I see like this team maybe at
- 53:45most losing 1, maybe two games, Yeah.
- 53:49But that's still, I think, in the still.
- 53:50Probably. Winning the and the.
- 53:51ACC That's going to be good enough to get with how good
- 53:54Miami's going to look. They'll be #1 in conference
- 53:57still, yeah. And so then you look, it's like,
- 54:01like Clemson's been. I don't have a lot of faith in.
- 54:05Maybe to get jumped? By Louisville.
- 54:07Yeah. I mean, it's about to be Miami
- 54:10one Louisville 2 after that win. Duke's three and though they do
- 54:14have a good Rd. win at Illinois but.
- 54:17They got one of the best running backs in the conference.
- 54:19Also that dude has just been running all over people.
- 54:23Nate Shepard. Nate Shepard, Yeah.
- 54:25Pretty sure he transferred in. Leading the country in rushing
- 54:30yards right now and he's got 5 touchdowns now.
- 54:33He's been really good. I'm pretty sure he transferred,
- 54:36did he not? Or has he always been at Duke?
- 54:39Let's see here. I don't no he OK, he was in
- 54:44this. Is just the second season.
- 54:47But I mean, he's already basically halfway to his rushing
- 54:51total. Yeah, he was at the starter last
- 54:53year. He kind of had a 2 headed
- 54:55monster. And he's just six touchdowns
- 54:58back, dude, the amount of TDs he had this year.
- 55:01So he's looking to make a big jump.
- 55:03That's crazy. His production, he's been really
- 55:05good this year. Yeah, I'm like Duke, maybe I
- 55:09give him a puncher's chance, but like SMU, Louisville, really the
- 55:13two teams maybe. Virginia on the outside and
- 55:17then. It is another team that I like
- 55:20could potentially like get there, but those those were the
- 55:26other two that you. Think had the best shot to meet
- 55:28Miami and Charlotte. So that game, that's just why
- 55:32this game had. Such massive implications.
- 55:35Because that's the head to head tiebreaker for you.
- 55:37Yep. That is, the later in the year
- 55:41seeding could see SMU fall behind Louisville with a better
- 55:46overall record if it's that close.
- 55:50All right, moving on the Vols, Tennessee played Kennesaw State
- 55:54BM 42, the nine. I'm I'm just waiting to see
- 55:58Tennessee. Play a real team.
- 56:00That's what they got Texas this week.
- 56:01Here we go, all right. The win against Georgia Tech. 24
- 56:08points. Was OK, but I just think Georgia
- 56:11Tech was. Struggling to find an identity
- 56:15and. The fact that.
- 56:17Hang out, hung around with them as long as they did.
- 56:20Who's their quarterback now? Well, they got Mendoza brother.
- 56:23Yeah, they got. Mendoza.
- 56:25Albert Mendoza is the sort of a touch QB.
- 56:29Then you've got Faizon, Brandon, he had an all right game in this
- 56:34one. I we're going to see what this
- 56:36team's made of. I do think they get.
- 56:38Tenant Texas is coming to them, but yeah, they're I, I don't
- 56:43have, I'm not really holding Tennessee.
- 56:48I don't really think Tennessee is going to do much.
- 56:50They don't really move. Me, he's on.
- 56:52Brandon, is he freshman? He might be, I think.
- 56:56It'd be interesting. They're they they're lucky they
- 57:00dodged Georgia this year, but they're still going to have to
- 57:02play Alabama. That's Bama looks a lot better
- 57:06things they're going to probably lose that.
- 57:07They don't have like the biggest gauntlet schedule.
- 57:11They do get LSU, see if a how A&M is looking late in the year.
- 57:15Kentucky could be sneaky, sneaky.
- 57:18Good. I mean, that's Will Stein's got
- 57:21a has really flipped that program around.
- 57:23So but interesting. I don't know like even then I
- 57:27could. Tennessee to me feels like they
- 57:29could really easily be a three four loss team.
- 57:32I agree that it's just it's a new team.
- 57:37I think they that we got to give and it's a new identity.
- 57:41We definitely got to give. Them a chance to see how they
- 57:42look against Tennessee. They just really I've never.
- 57:45Heard of Faizon, Brandon. I never heard of that Morris
- 57:48guy. They got it running back.
- 57:51It's it's a new, it's a new Tennessee.
- 57:56Yeah, all right. The Dang the Matt Campbell era
- 57:59and Penn State continues to get off to a hot start.
- 58:02They destroy the Buffalo Bulls. 55 to 13 Rocco Beck tosses 2
- 58:09touchdowns before getting pulled.
- 58:11Penn State as a team rushes for. 3O45 touchdowns.
- 58:16Kobe Howard on just three receptions racks up 115 yards
- 58:21and a touchdown took 170 yards to the house.
- 58:27Yeah, no, not really any surprise here.
- 58:29The Nittany Lions, we look at their schedule, haven't really
- 58:32played anybody yet. We're going to have an
- 58:34interesting test with Wisconsin. Northwestern showed some, I mean
- 58:39they beat the brakes off of the bill.
- 58:41So that will be That could be a tricky.
- 58:43Road test for the Nittany Lions and then they get into USC and
- 58:50Michigan coming up here. So again, it's a team, yeah,
- 58:54they've looked really good, but again, it hasn't been against
- 58:58the best competition. So I'm I want to see how they
- 59:02handle Wisconsin. Wisconsin's assault a much
- 59:06improved team this year, so could they potentially could.
- 59:14Penn State be on potential up set alert.
- 59:16I'm not ruling it out. I give Wisconsin the punchers
- 59:20chance. It's not great.
- 59:21But I could, I could see it that's that's a team that could
- 59:24be on up set alert. Another team that.
- 59:27Probably doesn't feel great about this win.
- 59:29Is is USCI mean your defense is getting caught carved up by
- 59:34Rutgers? You did have that.
- 59:36They had that long pick six that gave them a bit of a cushion.
- 59:40But I mean, ultimately they got they get out of here with a 42,
- 59:44the 35 win USC. I mean the offense.
- 59:49Is sick. They're it's.
- 59:50One of the top offenses in the country.
- 59:52It's a weird game for their defense.
- 59:54I just I. Don't think their defense has
- 59:56been that good at all this season and that's.
- 59:58That was their big. Thing last year's like yeah,
- 1:00:00they their offense was good, but they just.
- 1:00:03Paper mache on defense and like look at who they played, I mean.
- 1:00:07This was kind of their game to get back on it, I mean.
- 1:00:09They they had the shutout Fresno.
- 1:00:11Against Fresno, but they gave up 30.
- 1:00:13Points. Let's go, K.
- 1:00:14Louisiana And then you have Rutgers.
- 1:00:17You scored 35 on them. We might have a real.
- 1:00:21Shootout on their hand with a good old fashioned PAC 12
- 1:00:24shootout. With Oregon and USC meeting this
- 1:00:27weekend, that's going to be. Dang, we might see like a five
- 1:00:31of them. Oh man, to put that one on the
- 1:00:34team that's going to. Be on.
- 1:00:35That's going to be. That's definitely.
- 1:00:36One you're going to want to watch.
- 1:00:38So they got the victory because like, I don't even know, like
- 1:00:42Rutgers has. Struggled to score this season.
- 1:00:45So I mean they got blown out by UMass.
- 1:00:48It's like UMass beat this Rutgers team but in Rutgers
- 1:00:52because like again, this was a road game for UFC, but like
- 1:00:55UMass went into Rutgers Stadium and beat them by more points
- 1:00:59than you do. That doesn't.
- 1:01:00That's got to make you feel not great.
- 1:01:04Enough to rank UMass. As a team, I was making an
- 1:01:06argument. All day at work I was like,
- 1:01:08UMass needs to be ranked because of that.
- 1:01:12They don't even need to win. Rank UMass.
- 1:01:17Rutgers doesn't even need to win.
- 1:01:19The top 25, UMass is three of them.
- 1:01:20All right, they're all A roll. Shout out the Minutemen.
- 1:01:26All right, moving along here in the top 25 rundown BYU play the
- 1:01:33Colorado State, they went in there, they took care of their
- 1:01:37business. Colorado State made it look a
- 1:01:40little. Closer with some garbage time
- 1:01:41TV's, but it was yeah, they were just searching for answers.
- 1:01:46They're in Three different quarterbacks play in this game.
- 1:01:51Haas. Had the season.
- 1:01:52Over that, bro, the season's over.
- 1:01:55We're at home. Oh dude.
- 1:01:59Barry Brock Meyer, Colorado. Teams.
- 1:02:01It's really efficient, didn't throw for a touchdown, didn't
- 1:02:03have an interception. But it's like again, BYU, they
- 1:02:06want to dominate you at the line of scrimmage.
- 1:02:09That's exactly what they did, 332 yards rushing and five
- 1:02:13touchdowns. LJ Martin, we just CSU had no
- 1:02:17answers for LJ 1. He had 15 carries, 176 yards,
- 1:02:22including a long 56, three touchdowns.
- 1:02:27Yeah, they they were just. Had had their hands on their
- 1:02:32heads like what do we what do you even do scratching your
- 1:02:34heads? He just ran all over the defense
- 1:02:37was dumb. And I mean, again, they really
- 1:02:39shut down. CSU like they had a nice opening
- 1:02:43drive to respond after BYU scored.
- 1:02:46And then it was just all downhill from there.
- 1:02:48And then they just never got anything going.
- 1:02:55So that's. That's.
- 1:02:56Not Cougars. Cougars are looking pretty
- 1:02:59dominant so. Far cubies and Week 2 at home.
- 1:03:06Dang man. It's tough.
- 1:03:09It's tough to see there. All right, for the state.
- 1:03:14Alabama Bama was down 21 to 6 at one point, but man for the
- 1:03:20state. Mike Norville, I think if you
- 1:03:22guys talk about coaches. On the hot seat him and Dabo
- 1:03:26have to be. Their pants have to be on fire
- 1:03:28at this point because yeah. I think the chair is burning.
- 1:03:33I you. You had Damo on the ropes in
- 1:03:35Tuscaloosa. There was a weather.
- 1:03:37Delay, but even before that they were starting to lose this lead.
- 1:03:41There was a big weather delay. Ashton Daniels.
- 1:03:44I mean, like. If you love the 377 passing
- 1:03:48yards, you don't like the three interceptions.
- 1:03:52And I think we saw. We saw Heal and Russell.
- 1:03:56Best game as a passer so far as the start.
- 1:03:58I mean he was so efficient. 23 of 3323 touchdowns.
- 1:04:03He also had a huge touchdown run for 57 yards.
- 1:04:07My young guy my. New Bama's looking good.
- 1:04:12So defense, still some things that I think will have to be
- 1:04:15desired because they still, they gave up a lot of points in this
- 1:04:18one, but they also did a great job of taking the football away.
- 1:04:22So got after Daniels a little bit, ended up winning this 150
- 1:04:30to 36, yeah. They were killing them.
- 1:04:36I was watching that first half and I changed the channel, check
- 1:04:40out another game and I flipped back and it was literally just
- 1:04:45moments before Russell took off into the end zone.
- 1:04:49Yeah, I ripped off of there before.
- 1:04:52All right, I'm going to just, we're going to skate.
- 1:04:54Through some of our other blowouts.
- 1:04:55Before we get to someone for more interesting matchups,
- 1:04:58saving the best or last gave man, That's right, Ohio State.
- 1:05:03Kent State got our notes on this one.
- 1:05:06Well, Jeremiah Smith, they might work for him. 5 catches.
- 1:05:09For 85 yards, 59 to three. I mean, yeah, Ohio State with a
- 1:05:14get right game after they kind of blew that game in Austin, TX
- 1:05:19against the against the the Longhorns.
- 1:05:23Get you get yourself back on track.
- 1:05:25With a a blowout win over Kent State.
- 1:05:27Indiana continuing to look solid, Josh Hoover tosses. 2
- 1:05:34touchdowns, 273 yards. Turbo Richard 149 in the Teddy.
- 1:05:41Charlie Becker 127 in touch. Hoosiers roll over Western
- 1:05:46Kentucky 38 to 0. Who do?
- 1:05:51When did they get their first real test of the season?
- 1:05:53Because I will say. Indiana has just been blowing
- 1:05:55out some bad teams. Northwestern, they just kicked
- 1:05:57the crap out of Colorado. I don't know if that's because.
- 1:05:59Northwestern is good or Colorado, it's just bad.
- 1:06:02But then they're going to go at Rutgers, at Nebraska, We.
- 1:06:05Don't see him play real team for a while.
- 1:06:07We got Ohio. State coming up in October and
- 1:06:11they got then it's Michigan, they're going to play UFC.
- 1:06:14Then they got some. Real tests on here though, I'll
- 1:06:16say. And the Nebraska could be a
- 1:06:19sneaky that that's a sneaky. Game too like that.
- 1:06:22Those Nebraska fans get pretty crazy, so that could be a tough
- 1:06:25one. Another blowout we had that was
- 1:06:28Arkansas dismantling. Or I mean, Georgia dismantling
- 1:06:34Arkansas. Yeah, the Bulldogs are looking
- 1:06:39really good. I think like I really like Texas
- 1:06:45and they were my pick, the one the SEC.
- 1:06:46But man, like. It's hard to pick against.
- 1:06:49Kirby Smart, especially when he's got his team just playing
- 1:06:51the way they do, again, that defense, just bullying, just
- 1:06:56really bullied Arkansas for a lot of the game.
- 1:06:59Arkansas was kind of they were going back and forth between
- 1:07:02Hill and Jackson, just trying to find something that worked.
- 1:07:06They just couldn't. Establish a running game because
- 1:07:08that defensive front controlled the line of scrimmage.
- 1:07:12Then the Bulldogs rush for 254. Four touchdowns to get that 45
- 1:07:16to 17 win. Yeah.
- 1:07:18It was rough. And then they have who's who
- 1:07:20they got coming to town this week.
- 1:07:23That's right. Oklahoma, OH.
- 1:07:24Geez, they might blow them out. That could get ugly for
- 1:07:29Oklahoma. Notre Dame, it was close for a
- 1:07:34while. I mean, Michigan State was kind
- 1:07:35of hanging in there, but the Irish ultimately really just
- 1:07:40they, they had a 10 point lead. At half time, Michigan State
- 1:07:43just couldn't find the end zone in the second-half, ended up
- 1:07:46getting out of there with a 27 to 10 victory over the.
- 1:07:52Spartans number one team in the country oops the Texas Longhorns
- 1:07:59with a win, but not like a super dominant 1 / U TSAI mean it was
- 1:08:0420 to 3 at half time and they. I feel like Texas just, it
- 1:08:09wasn't in, didn't have that much of an urgency.
- 1:08:12It wasn't like, I don't know, they didn't feel like they were
- 1:08:15trying to blow them out cuz they're like, we just came out
- 1:08:17of an absolutely gruelling game. So I think there was A to.
- 1:08:20Get it over with. Dude, a bit of a hangover.
- 1:08:23Like there could be a bit of a hangover when you have to pull
- 1:08:27off like such an insane comeback win like that, like it
- 1:08:32sometimes. You just it's hard to like get
- 1:08:35your yourself as ready for the next game and so.
- 1:08:37This was a good. Match up to have after coming
- 1:08:40off of an and send comeback like that cuz.
- 1:08:43Even though they. Didn't play the best football,
- 1:08:45they still won this 1:30 to 6:00 So yeah, like you're.
- 1:08:50They didn't get in the end zone at one time.
- 1:08:53Like those, it's not like comeback hangover, you know,
- 1:08:56it's such an emotional roller coaster that sometimes it's it's
- 1:08:59hard to be as mentally locked in and prepared, yeah, for the next
- 1:09:02game. But.
- 1:09:03Still managed to to get the victory.
- 1:09:06And get it done I'll. Wake Forest did some nice.
- 1:09:11Things to try to hang around with Miami, but it ultimately
- 1:09:14wasn't enough. They lose 33 to 20.
- 1:09:17Darian Mensa completed 21. Straight passes to start this
- 1:09:23game he was just a model of. Efficiency.
- 1:09:26I think he absolutely has to be the Heisman front runner.
- 1:09:31He was 30 to 34 in this one for 223 touchdown.
- 1:09:36You've got two guys who are probably.
- 1:09:37Top five in Heiser in consideration because Malachi
- 1:09:39Tony 12 receptions for 1/14 in the touchdown.
- 1:09:43Wake Forest did not want to let Tony beat them deep.
- 1:09:46They really were like, that was what was super impressive about
- 1:09:50this. They were forcing.
- 1:09:52Darian that's to be patient to check the ball down.
- 1:09:56He couldn't get those big explosive plays down the field
- 1:09:58and he. Did he just took what the
- 1:09:59defense gave them only for the ball hit the ground only four
- 1:10:03times in this game He didn't turn it over.
- 1:10:07I mean I think he was like the best grab of the transfer
- 1:10:11portal. Yeah, he's in my my rankings.
- 1:10:14He's. He's number one in Heisman
- 1:10:16consideration. They took him from another team
- 1:10:18in the conference right after looking a runner up in the in
- 1:10:23the playoff last year. Yeah, like you're you're in the
- 1:10:26championship game and you go out and get the best available
- 1:10:29quarterback. The guy pretty much he had the
- 1:10:32best season on a team that wasn't that great and they only
- 1:10:36lost, they only lost what, four games or five games last year
- 1:10:41and they ended up winning the conference.
- 1:10:45Duke. Yeah, Duke lost five games but
- 1:10:46won the conference. And they messed up the whole
- 1:10:49College Football Playoff. Yeah, you got to get you got to
- 1:10:51go and get that guy. And I mean their defense
- 1:10:55allowing 20 points that Wake Forest, especially on the road.
- 1:11:00So going to be a weird team to play that slow mesh.
- 1:11:04They they snapped the ball and they're the quarterback and
- 1:11:07their running back are just walking and every single play is
- 1:11:10an RPO. If your guys aren't disciplined
- 1:11:13right there, you're you're going to get kind of smacked a little,
- 1:11:16a little bit of taste back in your mouth.
- 1:11:20But by Wake Forest, you got to watch out.
- 1:11:22All right. Well, then Oregon got a GET.
- 1:11:24Right game where they beat Portland State 84th.
- 1:11:27Nothing. What?
- 1:11:29Dante Moore 3rd for 280 yards and four touchdowns.
- 1:11:33Then they let Dylan Mariola come in and he went 11 for 11 for 124
- 1:11:37yards and three touchdowns 7. Passing touchdowns at 453 total
- 1:11:42yards through the air for the Oregon offense, another 273
- 1:11:46yards on the ground and five touchdowns for the Ducks.
- 1:11:51Definitely what they needed to get that bad taste at losing to
- 1:11:54Oklahoma State out of their mouth.
- 1:11:56Maybe get some? Confidence as they have a
- 1:11:58massive game. They've got to go into Southern
- 1:12:00California and play the Trojans this week.
- 1:12:05That time. All right, then we're looking at
- 1:12:09Houston. And Texas Tech, man, this was a
- 1:12:13fantastic game. And then Texas Tech, they've
- 1:12:16just been finding ways to win football games.
- 1:12:21The defense is. Still awesome for this team.
- 1:12:23I'll say like it there. That's, you know, all that oil
- 1:12:28money. They replace their talent while
- 1:12:30this defense is still really good.
- 1:12:33Well, this was and. Then just has to like stop
- 1:12:35sucking. Yeah, and he played really good
- 1:12:40in the. Second-half.
- 1:12:41He. Was sort of hit or miss and, you
- 1:12:48know, had some bad turnovers or had a bad interception.
- 1:12:54Was having a tough time. Moving the ball, they had to
- 1:12:57really rely on the running game more to get the the ball moving.
- 1:13:00But I think he was fantastic. He he was really sharp in the
- 1:13:05second-half. He made some big throws, made
- 1:13:08some huge plays with his legs. So it wasn't how he he didn't
- 1:13:15start great, but he finished the game really strong and it's a
- 1:13:17big reason why they won this. Did enough to get it done.
- 1:13:21Well, I mean, ultimately it was their defense.
- 1:13:23They. Gave up that final drive up 8
- 1:13:26and yeah, they scored, but they got they tackled Connor Weyman
- 1:13:29just inches from the goal line. This is a Houston team.
- 1:13:36I wonder what the rest of their schedule looks like because they
- 1:13:38played really well in this one. Wait, Connor Weyman was great,
- 1:13:42282 three touchdowns. He did have a fumble but no no
- 1:13:46other receptions and. He was also a big.
- 1:13:51Part of the running game like he, he used his legs a lot.
- 1:13:56Some big scrambles on 3rd down. I would just like to see, I
- 1:14:02would like to see Texas is, I mean, not Texas Tech, Houston's
- 1:14:08defense be a bit more disruptive rushing the passer.
- 1:14:14They did get 2 interceptions, so that'll be big.
- 1:14:17That'll be big if they can hit, you know, generate some
- 1:14:20turnovers because this offense for for the Cougars is really
- 1:14:24good. Amari Thomas continues to
- 1:14:27impress. Patrick Overmyer was super good
- 1:14:30in this one. And.
- 1:14:33I can get my Kai Hughes. He was solid in this one, but I
- 1:14:39know there's a big game in there for him, so it's.
- 1:14:42A little different of of a Big 12.
- 1:14:43I mean, the defenses are a lot better.
- 1:14:45These games aren't always turning into track meets.
- 1:14:50I like it. Yeah.
- 1:14:51That's all. That's all.
- 1:14:52That's what it's all about, how these close conference games get
- 1:14:57your team tested for the new 12 team playoff.
- 1:15:00This is this was. Huge too because I mean they two
- 1:15:04teams with a very realistic shot at potentially going to the Big
- 1:15:0712. So this is a massive 1 for Texas
- 1:15:10Tech to come out of with. It's a big win for them, but
- 1:15:13honestly as far as them like still being ranked at the end of
- 1:15:17the season and a chance that if they make the conference
- 1:15:21championship to make the playoffs, they really still they
- 1:15:24still got a shot to be one of the top 12.
- 1:15:28This was not a bad loss to Texas Tech.
- 1:15:31This points to a top 13 team. Their schedule for the rest of
- 1:15:37the year ain't too hard. They're going to get a rebound
- 1:15:39game against Georgia Southern. Some of the matches I'm looking
- 1:15:42at that could be difficult. Oklahoma State could be a tough
- 1:15:47one. They got to go to Utah that'll
- 1:15:49be that's that's tough and then at West Virginia could be a
- 1:15:52sneaky that's that's you're kind of going to do it hornet's nest
- 1:15:57there but. Yeah, this was a fantastic.
- 1:16:02Match, in my opinion, probably the second best game we got out
- 1:16:06of the top 25 of the weekend. But the best was the return of
- 1:16:12Mr. Lane Kiffin to Oxford, Tennessee, Ole Miss, LSU.
- 1:16:21A lot of bad blood there. What a little, what a little bit
- 1:16:25of a comeback that LSU kind of put together there.
- 1:16:30They were down 20 for the seven. We're starting to come back.
- 1:16:38I can't believe that the receiver who was at that, he
- 1:16:40caught the touchdown, he started doing that belt to ass
- 1:16:42celebration. It's like, dude, you are down.
- 1:16:45You're losing pretty. Sure, that was Winston Watkins.
- 1:16:48Yeah. Well, it was, yeah.
- 1:16:51He he was one of the guys that let went with Wayne, Wayne
- 1:16:54Kiffin from that old Miss LSU man, that game has like you're
- 1:16:59saying, so much bad blood. I got like all the drama and if
- 1:17:02I can get on my soapbox for a second.
- 1:17:05ESPN did a terrible job on the production of this.
- 1:17:08Dude, they were. So I saw like I had to go.
- 1:17:11Like it was like Twitter and social media where you had to
- 1:17:15really like see some of those candid moments from this game,
- 1:17:19like something they didn't show at all in the broadcast.
- 1:17:21Like after a take away, like the old miss players running down
- 1:17:25the sideline and pointing out their coach.
- 1:17:27I mean, like, they what are we doing?
- 1:17:29Like there's. All that you.
- 1:17:31Got to show that. Passion, that hatred and that
- 1:17:34resentment in this matchup, and you just did a horrible job of
- 1:17:39showing those as we went out throughout the game, you know,
- 1:17:42got. To show it.
- 1:17:43And like there was this was peak college football.
- 1:17:51There was storyline, there was the betrayal of a coach leaving,
- 1:17:56taking all these players and like real hatred.
- 1:18:01And emotion it. It was one of the biggest
- 1:18:05stories of college football this year.
- 1:18:08And ESPN. Did screwed it up.
- 1:18:11Kind of a pitiful. Job of really showcasing and and
- 1:18:16highlighting that emotion throughout the match up I that
- 1:18:21companies. Couple of the LSU dunks after
- 1:18:24they scored but like that's going to be a year long thing.
- 1:18:27Dude, that's kind of like a they didn't even show the handshake
- 1:18:31at the end of the game. They didn't even show the
- 1:18:33handshake. The most predictable thing that
- 1:18:36you know is coming like after you beat your old coach.
- 1:18:42On prime time television like this handshake, like what goes
- 1:18:45down? How is that interaction like
- 1:18:47that is? It's such a simple yet pivotal
- 1:18:49moment, and they didn't show it on the broadcast.
- 1:18:53They just were like pans of the crowd, like, what are we doing?
- 1:18:58That control room was not. No dude, not.
- 1:19:04Doing the best. A terrible production.
- 1:19:07They they're together. Good.
- 1:19:08They missed so many moments to really just.
- 1:19:14Live up to like Like this game lived up to the hype of the ESPN
- 1:19:18production. Severely stunted the hype.
- 1:19:21Of the and everything that could have gone around with this.
- 1:19:26So it was still a phenomenal game.
- 1:19:28It was awesome. I still love Reese Davis as the
- 1:19:33play by play. He did a fantastic job on this
- 1:19:37one. And Trinidad Chambliss, Oh my
- 1:19:40goodness. I mean, he's got to be the
- 1:19:43number one prospect for the number one draft production.
- 1:19:47Like it's, I know the Falcons and Dolphins are what every game
- 1:19:50they're watching them, they're just, they're just licking their
- 1:19:53lips. I mean, he has been elite to
- 1:19:56start the year. 924 yards, 7 touches, 81 Four QBR, 70%
- 1:20:05completion percentage. Not to mention.
- 1:20:08How dangerous he is with his legs.
- 1:20:12Yeah. He's without a doubt that going
- 1:20:16to be the number one pick. I mean, if he keeps playing the
- 1:20:19way he's playing, I just don't think you can in good conscience
- 1:20:24pick anybody else. As really I can take a.
- 1:20:31It's. Him or Darian Mensa?
- 1:20:33Before we real quick I wanted to go over some of the the games.
- 1:20:37Next week because there's some good ones, but I just wanted to
- 1:20:39take a look at the rankings. So the fact that Ole Miss has
- 1:20:46only got 4 just because Notre Dame and like Georgia or higher
- 1:20:51than them, you're asking me Ole Miss, they've beaten Louisville
- 1:20:55and LSU, They're two. OK, Texas can be 1 because they
- 1:21:01took down the number one seed, the number one ranked team in
- 1:21:05the country. Georgia hasn't really played
- 1:21:07anything. Notre Dame hasn't really played
- 1:21:09anybody. Old miss should be, too.
- 1:21:11And they can be. Kind of having that ranking off
- 1:21:14with like a point differential and their defense because Ole
- 1:21:20Miss, that they did win those last two games, but they were
- 1:21:23close. They were close.
- 1:21:25But they're against top 25 opponents.
- 1:21:28I mean, that's the they're. Always unfair with their.
- 1:21:30Ranks. Yeah, like, I'm sorry, but like,
- 1:21:32blew. These teams out.
- 1:21:34Like, there's Georgia. Are we really more moved by
- 1:21:36Georgia trouncing Tennessee State, Western Kentucky and
- 1:21:40Arkansas? Who's like the worst?
- 1:21:42Team in the SEC only the. Community, are we moved by BYU
- 1:21:46beating Wisconsin Rice? And Michigan State.
- 1:21:51Basically only the committee. Yeah, but no.
- 1:21:53One else. Agrees with this ring.
- 1:21:56I'm sorry but. Ever.
- 1:21:57Dismantling of Charlotte, you go you beat LSU, you beat
- 1:22:02Louisville. I mean like they're they're
- 1:22:03going to start and now they got to go 24 that like which is
- 1:22:06going to be a tough one. I don't know.
- 1:22:09It's no. No one, no one agrees with the
- 1:22:12rankings. Ever.
- 1:22:13Yeah, the the they these were. Terrible.
- 1:22:15And then I would even have Miami, actually.
- 1:22:18Late in the year. Probably in the top five, maybe
- 1:22:21just slightly above Indiana, because I think Miami's had a
- 1:22:26little bit of a tougher schedule, just just slightly.
- 1:22:29They've have how already had two conference games.
- 1:22:34OK, with like where Ohio State is, we could maybe make an
- 1:22:37argument about Bam was above them, but like, it's still Ohio
- 1:22:40State. LSU only drops to 10th.
- 1:22:47I don't know about that. Like I I would drop them a
- 1:22:50little lower. I'm like, look, I'm an Oregon
- 1:22:52fan. Like why is Oregon?
- 1:22:54Still above Florida after like Florida's been incredibly
- 1:22:59impressive. Why is Texas A&M in the top 25
- 1:23:02and Kentucky isn't? You know, it's.
- 1:23:07Probably it's one of the worst, worst rankings to start the
- 1:23:11year. They they usually kind of at
- 1:23:15least decently getting here right at this point.
- 1:23:20Like an Iowa's all the way down here, Louisville's down here.
- 1:23:23Like Utah's a good team. You know, Tennessee, Penn State
- 1:23:27have looked impressive. They haven't played any baby.
- 1:23:29Iowa's got a signature rivalry. Win that they have.
- 1:23:33Like to me that gives like. You're playing your bill of
- 1:23:36rival. You come out there and you get
- 1:23:37that victory. Florida's had some really great
- 1:23:40victories. They just took down Auburn in an
- 1:23:43in really impressive, impressive fashion.
- 1:23:47So I would, I would jump them up at least over Oregon.
- 1:23:53Yeah, I just not a great, not a great top 25, if I'm going to be
- 1:23:58honest. And it's like, like, we're going
- 1:24:02to put Houston, who barely lost to.
- 1:24:05Texas A&M. Barely lost to Texas Tech.
- 1:24:09We're going to put them below Texas A&M, who got embarrassed
- 1:24:13by Kentucky. There's just no way the for the.
- 1:24:15I think we accidentally skipped. Over that game.
- 1:24:17But that was that was my bad. But yeah, Kentucky embarrassed
- 1:24:22Texas A&M. They embarrassed them.
- 1:24:23There's just no other way to put it, is it?
- 1:24:26It's a home game. And Kentucky dominated you for
- 1:24:30most of that. I mean, you kind of made it
- 1:24:32close at the end, but Kentucky just took you to took you to the
- 1:24:41woodyard. And yeah, A&M shouldn't be
- 1:24:44ranked. Kentucky should be.
- 1:24:46I don't. Know, let me know what you
- 1:24:48think, I thought. It was an absolutely terrible
- 1:24:53ranking and I didn't like it at all, but.
- 1:24:57We're going to get to the. NFL action, but let's let's
- 1:25:00there's some just insane matchups.
- 1:25:02This week's in the top 25, so we're going to have Texas taking
- 1:25:07on Tennessee. Big match up there.
- 1:25:09We're going to see what Tennessee's.
- 1:25:11That's a home game for them. We're going to really see what
- 1:25:13they're made of in that one here.
- 1:25:17Louisville escaping SMU Still going to be a bit of a tough
- 1:25:23test with Wake Forest coming to town.
- 1:25:26This could get ugly. Georgia and Oklahoma, we've
- 1:25:29already talked about old miss for the for those looks really
- 1:25:33good. Jaden Baugh has been the best
- 1:25:36running back in the country in my opinion.
- 1:25:38He's been he's he's probably the only running back.
- 1:25:41It really is getting any Heisman consideration at this point and
- 1:25:44and deservedly so. That's going to be a massive
- 1:25:50game there. And that's that's going to be
- 1:25:52that's old misses 1st Rd. Rd. test.
- 1:25:55I mean, they have a neutral side game against Louisville, but
- 1:25:58they're going to have to go into the Swamp in the Gainesville and
- 1:26:03take on the Gators. That's going to be a banger
- 1:26:06matchup. Can't wait to watch that one
- 1:26:09trap game for Utah going into Iowa State.
- 1:26:12That's going to be a tough. Tough place to go into and win
- 1:26:16Michigan, Iowa. We we're going to be keeping.
- 1:26:18Our eyes on that one, that's going to be fantastic.
- 1:26:22And we're really going to see, you know, like, are these two
- 1:26:24teams legit? Do they have at least an
- 1:26:29argument? Will they have an argument to be
- 1:26:32considered for the College Football Playoff?
- 1:26:34Are they going to be able to potentially make some noise and
- 1:26:38and be in contention at the late of the season?
- 1:26:42But I think whoever loses this game, that's going to
- 1:26:46drastically affect their chances to actually have a shot at the
- 1:26:50playoff. Big 10s would be a gauntlet, at
- 1:26:53least the top teams. Those games would be insane.
- 1:26:56So like. This is.
- 1:26:57That's already one of. Them we mentioned it earlier.
- 1:27:00Sneaky. It's a home game, but like,
- 1:27:03slight, slight upset. Watch for Penn State taking on
- 1:27:05Wisconsin. It's a big first, big test of
- 1:27:08the year. LSU, Texas A&M, Keep an eye on
- 1:27:12this match because these are two teams licking their wounds.
- 1:27:16It's going to be really interesting to see how each of
- 1:27:19these teams. Responds to their their tough
- 1:27:24losses. Home game for the Tigers.
- 1:27:26Could it be a good right game for them?
- 1:27:28Could Alice U or could A&M potentially pull off a shocker
- 1:27:32there? Then we've got Oregon and USC
- 1:27:39can Oregon. 'S.
- 1:27:41Defense, really, it's going to be which one of these two teams
- 1:27:44defenses can rise to the occasion and is Oregon going to?
- 1:27:50You know, like is Dante Morgan to be back to his usual self
- 1:27:54against good competition, you know?
- 1:27:57Because this ain't going to be Portland.
- 1:27:58State. It's just not.
- 1:28:00And then we've got finally, this is a.
- 1:28:02Sneaky banger of a matchup. Missouri.
- 1:28:05Mississippi State Mississippi State's been.
- 1:28:07Really good dude Camario Taylor star for 832 yards, 11
- 1:28:13touchdowns, one in the reception.
- 1:28:15He's this is. Tied for second in touchdowns.
- 1:28:18Missouri kind of coming off a weird game and now they've got
- 1:28:20to go and do a hostile environment.
- 1:28:23They could lose that man. Mississippi State's been been.
- 1:28:27Sneaky good. This year they're just kind of
- 1:28:29flying under the radar because they just don't get a whole lot
- 1:28:32of attention compared to the rest of the the ACC or the OR
- 1:28:37the SEC rather. But all right.
- 1:28:40Let's jump into. The NFL coverage, yeah, let's,
- 1:28:43let's just get right to it, man. Thursday night, we'll start
- 1:28:49there. That Lions defence.
- 1:28:53They. Need they They're.
- 1:28:55Back. They're missing Brian Branch,
- 1:28:58they're missing Kirby Joseph and then they just they lost the
- 1:29:01Vonte Maddox for the season. I mean the Bills.
- 1:29:05Just he's already dealing with some stuff.
- 1:29:07He was a trooper in that Saints game.
- 1:29:11Week 1 battle injury, the whole game and then.
- 1:29:17You can't even. Really put this on golf I.
- 1:29:19Mean he did. He did.
- 1:29:22Fumble twice, but they caught. They recovered both.
- 1:29:24Of those but he was. His own line.
- 1:29:26I mean, guy threw. For not protecting him at all.
- 1:29:29And the guy still threw for three. 127 yards and four
- 1:29:32touchdowns. Like it.
- 1:29:36The Bills defense really hasn't been that impressive in my
- 1:29:39opinion. It's just that offense is doing
- 1:29:43some just insane stuff. I mean, it we could see on the
- 1:29:47maybe some history just in terms of like team offense this year
- 1:29:51cuz they went, Allen and Cook were just unstoppable on the
- 1:29:54ground together. Allen threw 3 touchdowns.
- 1:29:57I mean, he's just getting all of his guys involved. 22 touchdowns
- 1:30:03on the ground for Josh 3 through the year and there really wasn't
- 1:30:08a lot of defense in this one. But the bills were able to get
- 1:30:12some pressure and sacked off and that that stopped a few drives
- 1:30:17and they they were able to limit Gibbs on the ground.
- 1:30:19But that also, like Buffalo just gone up to such a big.
- 1:30:23Lead. That. 13 at half time.
- 1:30:27Yeah, and it like it was just Detroit had to throw.
- 1:30:30They even have a chance to to stay in this one.
- 1:30:33But. Great way to open new Highmark
- 1:30:35Stadium. Buffalo's gonna.
- 1:30:40Yeah, Josh Allen picks up five touchdowns in it first game.
- 1:30:44They're going to be a tough team to beat.
- 1:30:46I'd like to see the defense is going to need.
- 1:30:49To maybe play a little bit better.
- 1:30:51But again, the Lions do have an have an elite offense and a lot
- 1:30:56of it eventually like the Bills just started sitting back, you
- 1:30:59know, and that those kind of like that's where Jared Goff is
- 1:31:04really go when you're just sitting back in zone, he'll just
- 1:31:06pick you apart and drive down the field.
- 1:31:12This thing just got. Got away from.
- 1:31:15Detroit, and they just could never quite close the gap.
- 1:31:18And we thought, oh, we'll a shootout on Thursday Night
- 1:31:20Football, 41 to 31. We might see another offensive
- 1:31:25explosion this week, but no certain defenses.
- 1:31:28Were we're back on point, and I think there's no better example
- 1:31:34of that than a Vikings nine to three victory over the Bears.
- 1:31:39Yeah, look, it was. It was a.
- 1:31:43It was a downpour. The weather certainly helps in
- 1:31:47that situation. But after Chicago scored 59
- 1:31:51points the week before, you hold them to three.
- 1:31:56Caleb Williams did suffer hamstring injury in this one
- 1:31:59right before half time. Could never really get Swift or
- 1:32:02Madonna guy going and then, yeah, it really became a
- 1:32:07struggle to throw the football after Caleb got hurt like once.
- 1:32:13Wasn't all too good in this one. I there was the feet of Aaron
- 1:32:16Jones really carried. Old Man Jones.
- 1:32:19Minnesota and this one still going.
- 1:32:22That goal line fumble by DeAndre Swift was brutal.
- 1:32:25That was that was a killer, man. That wins you the game because
- 1:32:30they had the final possession, Beijing would have been kneeling
- 1:32:33the game out. Yeah, like that would have
- 1:32:37really put a lot of pressure on Carson Wentz that have to drop
- 1:32:41back and throw that football in this weather.
- 1:32:46Well, I think we think Caleb's. Probably going to be fine.
- 1:32:49It's kind of week to week. His status is a bit up in the
- 1:32:51air whether he'll play. Hamstrings just suck, yeah,
- 1:32:56Especially if you injure it and you're going to keep on playing
- 1:32:59at a high level the whole year. He's just going to be in pain
- 1:33:02the whole season. My effect is mobility a lot too,
- 1:33:07which is a big is a big part of his game so.
- 1:33:11A real, real painful injury. If he keeps on going, he's going
- 1:33:14to have real tape, fake hamstring taped on every single
- 1:33:19game, every practice. Brian Flores just blitzing like
- 1:33:26a madman This season, though, he loves to just set the house and
- 1:33:29it's like. You'll tear your hamstring
- 1:33:31running away from that pressure. I mean, that's.
- 1:33:34And he plays. Testaments like defense.
- 1:33:36Like you basically know because like they love to do motion and
- 1:33:39like you know, like, OK, like nobody follows the guy in
- 1:33:41motion. Like he's running zone most of
- 1:33:44the time, but it's like I get he's just, he's so good.
- 1:33:49You just you have like 8 guys on the line of scrimmage and you
- 1:33:52just really never know who's. Going to blitz and but he's
- 1:33:56always blitzing and it's just like you, you got to know where
- 1:34:00that pressure is coming from. He's been just an absolute
- 1:34:04madman. The Vikings defense is has been
- 1:34:07just absolutely filthy. I really this year.
- 1:34:13Guy, You know, guy who's been cooking.
- 1:34:15Happy days man. Bryce Young dude, we got the the
- 1:34:18two top 2 passers. In the league Tyler Shuck and
- 1:34:21Bryce Young and then CJ Stroud in 3rd Bryce been slinging the
- 1:34:26man with he was sharp in this 12873 touchdowns.
- 1:34:31He's some Panthers to watch out for.
- 1:34:33They really don't have a run. Game to speak for like pricing
- 1:34:36is. What we thought Justin Fields
- 1:34:37would be right now at this point.
- 1:34:42That's not the. Craziest thing to say?
- 1:34:44Great rebound from the Carolina Panthers defense.
- 1:34:47I mean, they were doing it against Cooper Rush and Jack
- 1:34:51Strand, who they picked off combined three times like.
- 1:34:56Falcons. Also forced.
- 1:34:58Happy to see. The.
- 1:34:59Falcons Strand coming in. Falcons.
- 1:35:02Core The racks combined for five turnovers in this game.
- 1:35:06Yeah, Falcons weren't. They might give.
- 1:35:10The Dolphins a run for their money in the number.
- 1:35:12One pick and we got to watch. Do we have Atlanta Falcons?
- 1:35:16Football in prime time for three straight weeks.
- 1:35:19God help us. At least Michael Pennix is
- 1:35:22starting on Thursday. So we'll see if there's offense,
- 1:35:26there's. Actually, a quarterback playing.
- 1:35:28Looks a little better. We'll see who's playing the next
- 1:35:30week when they got to come see the Saints in the Dome on Monday
- 1:35:34Night Football. That's going to be rough.
- 1:35:37But I mean, when you see the the Atlanta Falcons Facebook admin
- 1:35:41post, Jack Strand is now the starting quarterback with a
- 1:35:45period as a post update and it already has over 100 comments
- 1:35:50and most of the reactions are the angry face.
- 1:35:53It's happy days, happy days. Panthers obliterate Falcons 34
- 1:35:59to 3 Eagles and Titans. Phillies fans took over or
- 1:36:03Philadelphia fans took over. Nashville, man, there were a lot
- 1:36:06of Eagles fans at that game and it was a, you know.
- 1:36:14One of those Jalen Hurts games where he's got like a lot of
- 1:36:18highs and lows and he has a couple of not great
- 1:36:21interceptions, including one in the red zone.
- 1:36:23But man, when it mattered the most, he was.
- 1:36:26He was. Clutch on that last drive, I'll
- 1:36:28give him that. He marched down the field.
- 1:36:30He did almost over the interception on that drive too.
- 1:36:32But then he he threw the game-winning touchdown with 12
- 1:36:35seconds. The red zone pick was it should
- 1:36:41have been a touchdown because they had Devante Smith
- 1:36:44bracketed. And if he goes deep, the
- 1:36:48corner's just going to take him and it's man.
- 1:36:50But if he's if he goes inside, the inside guy's going to take
- 1:36:53him. And then he that outside guys
- 1:36:56moves out to the flat. That's pretty much how that was
- 1:36:58going to work. But Devante Smith broke that
- 1:37:02dude's ankles and took it, went on the deep ball.
- 1:37:06Jalen Hurts, though, the pressure got to him and as he
- 1:37:09threw the ball, he literally had a defender in his face mask.
- 1:37:13So he under threw it. And it was just a great play.
- 1:37:16That I do is like #36 on, on Tennessee's defense, I'm sorry.
- 1:37:22I don't know. They'll know his name.
- 1:37:25It might have been Anthony. It was Anthony.
- 1:37:28It was Julie's chestnut, Yeah. That's a running back, so it's
- 1:37:30got to be something. Maybe it was 30.
- 1:37:33It was it was a Molly Hooker. A Molly Hooker.
- 1:37:35Yeah. I remember because Brandon
- 1:37:37Perenn was making the joke about how.
- 1:37:39Hertz thought he was about to score and then said he got
- 1:37:41robbed by a hooker. That's just that's out of
- 1:37:46pocket. That's great.
- 1:37:48You think quarterbacks In the end, I'm thinking he's about to
- 1:37:51score. And then he gets robbed by a
- 1:37:52hooker instead. That's, I mean, that's a tough
- 1:37:57one. How to make that throw to your
- 1:38:00receiver who just absolutely cooked the DB?
- 1:38:03That would have been a touchdown.
- 1:38:04Fan Altay was great and. We got you got a defender like
- 1:38:08his arm. This is like how close the
- 1:38:11defender was. He's getting destroyed in the
- 1:38:14pocket. Like that's a really tough row.
- 1:38:17We got Dantavian Wicks breakout candidate.
- 1:38:21Think about a guy who just finally gets into a new
- 1:38:23situation like. Kind of this year's Javonte
- 1:38:26Williams like change of scenery. He was on the Packers for all
- 1:38:30those years and never really was.
- 1:38:31Doing a lot, but now he's he's a the clear cut wide receiver too
- 1:38:36on this team and he's been really good like.
- 1:38:39Kyle Lemmon got a catch. Like Kyle Lemmon's no longer on
- 1:38:41pace for -85 yards this season, which is good for him.
- 1:38:45Got a? Catch.
- 1:38:45There we go. Saquon left with an injury so
- 1:38:48the Eagles run game kind of struggled and this one,
- 1:38:52Interesting to see who takes over in that one.
- 1:38:55But. That's what kept it close for
- 1:38:57Tennessee. A little more life.
- 1:39:00For the Titans in this one. So some things things to build.
- 1:39:05On you know, they were just lifeless against The Jets,
- 1:39:09really like 2 Cam Ward rushing touchdowns.
- 1:39:14We'll see. The Cardinal Tate just really
- 1:39:16hasn't been a factor to which has been kind of kind of crazy,
- 1:39:20yeah. It's been, yeah, that's been
- 1:39:22kind of tough for them. It's been L like Isle Manor the
- 1:39:25last last two weeks. There's just a lot of.
- 1:39:28New with that team, I think it's just gonna.
- 1:39:31I feel like they're gonna. They might kind of be in a
- 1:39:34similar situation with the Saints where it's like that
- 1:39:37they've got like the pieces like the Saints were last year.
- 1:39:40It's like they kind of got the pieces, but it's gonna take
- 1:39:42them. It's year one.
- 1:39:43By the time they get it put together, it's gonna kind of be
- 1:39:45like too little too late. It's like, ah, we're.
- 1:39:47It's at the end of the season. And we haven't really won a lot
- 1:39:49of games, but it's something to build.
- 1:39:51They'll have something. To build on for the next year.
- 1:39:53All right, dude, we the elder abuse game, Aaron.
- 1:39:56Rodgers got that was rock. Thought you insane.
- 1:40:02A couple of times, but the the one.
- 1:40:05Blind side dude. Blind side hit on a 40 year old
- 1:40:08dude. Yeah, it's oh.
- 1:40:09My God, I cannot believe he got back up after that.
- 1:40:15You want to talk about lifeless? This Steelers offense couldn't
- 1:40:19do. Anything three points on the
- 1:40:22day, I mean their defense. Really held the the Patriots in
- 1:40:28check, but they got that. Scoop and score late.
- 1:40:31That basically put the game away.
- 1:40:34It was who was it? It was pondered that got picked
- 1:40:36it up and run so pondered his way into the end zone there.
- 1:40:43Yeah. Good.
- 1:40:45The Patriots defense has been really good this season.
- 1:40:47I mean, I'll be at that third. The competition has been a
- 1:40:50backup quarterback and a 40 year old who can't move at all.
- 1:40:53But they've they've only given up 13 or 16 points on the
- 1:40:59season. Drake May needs to lock in like
- 1:41:01he was not good again in this one.
- 1:41:03Yeah. He's not off to a very good
- 1:41:06start this year. Stuff.
- 1:41:08Yeah. And the.
- 1:41:10Schedule's not going to get the. Patriots fans.
- 1:41:12Not going to get too much easier, sorry.
- 1:41:15Yeah, he is. He is.
- 1:41:16Not played very good this season.
- 1:41:20Andre still fumbling too. Yeah, Andre's got this fumble
- 1:41:23problem. I mean really a lot of what
- 1:41:26they. Got was they got the the big run
- 1:41:28from Trayvon Henderson 1R Dobbs got like.
- 1:41:35Open one time, like just a blown coverage, like they really
- 1:41:40weren't able to. They didn't put together any
- 1:41:44complete drives. There was just like a a big
- 1:41:46touchdown. Run defensive touchdown and then
- 1:41:50like one of the field goals got set up because of a busted
- 1:41:54coverage. So I mean, they're lucky that
- 1:41:58they were playing just the devoid of life on offense.
- 1:42:02Pittsburgh Steelers and DK Metcalf was dropping everything
- 1:42:05that was coming this way. There's the Steelers are lucky
- 1:42:10that the Browns are in their division because I don't feel
- 1:42:14comfortable saying that the Steelers come in last place in
- 1:42:16this division. But.
- 1:42:19They might come in last place in the division of the Browns
- 1:42:22figure can build off of what they did against Tampa they.
- 1:42:25Didn't look too bad and. I'm not, I'm not really, but.
- 1:42:29I'm not really counting on Deshaun Watson, so no.
- 1:42:33All right, Jets and Packers, let's go overtime thriller and
- 1:42:39we're gonna. I need to pull up all our friend
- 1:42:40Jimmy covers. Happy birthday, by the way,
- 1:42:42Jimmy sent us so the Packers. Oh yeah, he sent us a they.
- 1:42:50It was like a one in a million records broken in this.
- 1:42:53Game So they're the first team since on record since 1941 to
- 1:42:58win a game with less than 200 total yards.
- 1:43:01They had 199 with over. 100 penalty yards.
- 1:43:05They had 133 penalty yards and a negative turnover margin.
- 1:43:10They lost the turnover margin -1.
- 1:43:13Teams were O and 40. 4 beforehand doing that so.
- 1:43:17The one. I mean, and of course, if there
- 1:43:21was a team to do it, it would be the New York.
- 1:43:24Jets to do all of those things and to lose this football game
- 1:43:30in overtime. I mean the Packers.
- 1:43:34Jordan Love, I don't think he had more.
- 1:43:36He was like, he started like it was the weirdest that he was
- 1:43:40like 3 of seven for like 3 yards.
- 1:43:43Passing. Like he completed three passes.
- 1:43:47And like 2 of them for like were no gain or like a negative
- 1:43:51yardage. It was backed.
- 1:43:53I mean they. I've never I like Jordan Love.
- 1:43:57I've never seen that. I never we hadn't seen that
- 1:44:01before from from that offense. Jets done a solid job of moving
- 1:44:06the ball to, I mean, they didn't run it all too well in this
- 1:44:08game. This was a I think there was
- 1:44:12some weather there. Again, it was just like a slop
- 1:44:15fest and like neither team really played very well.
- 1:44:21Oh. It just turned out it's happened
- 1:44:23to be tied basically the entire game.
- 1:44:26This is one of those weird ones where like red zone kept coming
- 1:44:29back into it and I was like, man, like I would just see the
- 1:44:32stats. I'm like.
- 1:44:33How is the Green Bay like just hanging in this like I?
- 1:44:37Like this is. Just a lot of it's on The Jets,
- 1:44:39like they you should have been able to put this team away, but
- 1:44:43you didn't. And now you're you're you're one
- 1:44:47in one. So the, the honeymoon phase is
- 1:44:50over for The Jets. You lose 20 to 17.
- 1:44:54Yeah, in OT. You at least got a got a dub.
- 1:44:58All right. We have a rain delay in Tampa
- 1:45:02that delayed. The Buccaneers had two hours to
- 1:45:05come up, with a 2 minute drive already in the red zone.
- 1:45:09And they went four and out and turned the ball over on downs
- 1:45:13and they barely. Love it.
- 1:45:15They they barely gained any yardage.
- 1:45:17They got like 4 yards, four or five yards on the run on their
- 1:45:22first play. A.
- 1:45:23Then they got a penalty like a false start.
- 1:45:25Which moved them back and then I think Baker just threw like
- 1:45:28three straight incompletion. So yeah, I mean the Baker.
- 1:45:33That's how you end the game at home, too.
- 1:45:36We got to fire Todd Bulls because, like, what do you like
- 1:45:38that? That's just what happened.
- 1:45:40Like his? Two hours.
- 1:45:42Are just so unprepared. They had enough time in that
- 1:45:47rain delay. Dude.
- 1:45:48Two hours. The other games, the second
- 1:45:51window games, were almost in the fourth quarter when this game
- 1:45:54finally came back in the two-minute drive.
- 1:45:58So Tampa Bay, they're another team where it's like they're
- 1:46:03lucky the Falcons are in the division because like they've
- 1:46:06looked bad, man. Like I they could come in last
- 1:46:09place in this division, it would not shock me.
- 1:46:13Baker's just been he, it's been rough.
- 1:46:16The ball security's been really bad.
- 1:46:19Happy days. They signed him on that
- 1:46:21extension too. Yeah, really.
- 1:46:23He waited them out so he could get more money to look like
- 1:46:26second-half the season from last year.
- 1:46:29Baker, we're not getting the MVP bake MVB we're getting.
- 1:46:36So I don't know we're getting. Off Cleveland.
- 1:46:39We'll see how. We'll see how they look moving
- 1:46:42forward. They got Minnesota next week, so
- 1:46:45they. Struggled a lot to protect the
- 1:46:48ball against the and like Baker's biggest thing it's happy
- 1:46:52feet and he like. When he when he sees pressure up
- 1:46:55the middle, he does not know where he's good.
- 1:46:57When he can step up in the pocket, on the middle of the
- 1:47:00pocket breaks down, his guards can't.
- 1:47:04It's gonna. I think it could get ugly.
- 1:47:05It could get really ugly. He starts to dance around in
- 1:47:08the. Pocket the the toucher Deshaun
- 1:47:11Watson. He had probably his best game as
- 1:47:14a pro since joining the Browns. Seriously.
- 1:47:17Denzel Boston, where we might be seeing a star in the making,
- 1:47:20he's kind of breaking out. He was solid.
- 1:47:23In front of our. Eyes and had a decent game.
- 1:47:26Exception was pretty decent in that game too.
- 1:47:29I mean they really just looked. They looked like the better
- 1:47:32team, all right. It's not.
- 1:47:35It's tough to say. We're going to go talk about
- 1:47:36your Saints caveman, but we you can't go off for too long
- 1:47:39because we we got other games to cover and we're starting to run
- 1:47:42out of time here, but. What a game this really was
- 1:47:46right here. Another another game.
- 1:47:49Saints got to come from behind a second-half team.
- 1:47:53It's like something switches inside of Tyler Shucks mind
- 1:47:58after halftime and he's like, all right, let's go get it done.
- 1:48:01Yeah, it's really the same for everyone on this team.
- 1:48:05Olave. I'm feeling insane again.
- 1:48:09I'm feeling really good about my Olave leading the league in
- 1:48:12receiving yards prediction because like him and shut like
- 1:48:15that's shucks guy. He's got the he's got the
- 1:48:17Guardian cap on. Anytime you see that thing
- 1:48:21popping out, throw, throw the ball in that general area. 12's
- 1:48:25going to catch it. Marlon Humphrey pregame coming
- 1:48:29into this game was all about bracketing Chris Olave. 8
- 1:48:33catches, 86 yards and a touchdown.
- 1:48:35So through 2 two games, 18 receptions, 268 yards and a
- 1:48:41touchdown, averaging nearly 15 yards in a section like he gets
- 1:48:46open down the field. Bailey's been.
- 1:48:48Awesome. I love Bailey.
- 1:48:49Well, he's been. Bailey's awesome.
- 1:48:51So you guys this year, Jawan Johnson like his finally like
- 1:48:54we're really seeing like. Whoa, wait.
- 1:48:56Jawan Johnson's actually a talented.
- 1:48:57Tight end, you guys are just. You have a quarterback.
- 1:49:00That can get him the football. When he gets the ball in open
- 1:49:02space, you see his speed. He made two guys miss on a
- 1:49:06pivotal third down on our on our game tying drive like that.
- 1:49:11I've never seen him do anything like that in this whole time on
- 1:49:15the Saints because we had Derek Carr the last two years.
- 1:49:17Juwan Johnson looks like a guy that can get it done.
- 1:49:21He's been awesome the first two weeks.
- 1:49:23That's made his first catch. What's impressed me about Tyler
- 1:49:26Shuck too, He really hasn't had the support of her own game like
- 1:49:29he is shouldered. It's all he.
- 1:49:31Burden of of generating the offense off of his arm and his
- 1:49:35legs. He threw 56 passes in week one
- 1:49:39in Detroit. 34 this week. Yeah, 34.
- 1:49:43We had 65 rushing yards. I mean, it just kind of sucks.
- 1:49:48I thought our run game was at least going to be kind of
- 1:49:50decent. And ETN, 8 carries, 25 yards.
- 1:49:54His long is only 82. So like he was getting met at or
- 1:49:58behind the line pretty much every run.
- 1:50:01So the Saints did a great job on the opposite end, making.
- 1:50:04Defence. Derrick Henry in the second-half
- 1:50:07was met at or behind the line of scrimmage on majority of his
- 1:50:11runs. It was.
- 1:50:13It was insane. I can't believe John.
- 1:50:15Harbaugh blew another lead for the Ravens.
- 1:50:18Oh, wait. He's not there mentor this time.
- 1:50:21Interesting. What's it's like, your time's a
- 1:50:25flat circle because Derrick Henry in the second-half got
- 1:50:30like. They only attempted to get the
- 1:50:33ball to him like 5 times. They only gave him like 5
- 1:50:36carries or something like that. He didn't really.
- 1:50:38They shield away from the run game in the second-half with the
- 1:50:41lead and now I'm starting to see it now.
- 1:50:43You look at. All these Ravens blowing the
- 1:50:45leads since they've gotten Derrick Henry, the biggest
- 1:50:48common factor is that they just stopped giving his ball in the
- 1:50:51fourth quarter. And it's a game like this where
- 1:50:54you didn't have Zay flowers. Yeah.
- 1:50:56Derrick. Henry should probably have the
- 1:50:58ball 3. Like if you go 3 and out,
- 1:51:02Derrick Henry's got to have the ball three times.
- 1:51:04I don't even care. Those day flowers and Derrick
- 1:51:06Henry gets. 16 carries. That doesn't make a lick of
- 1:51:09sense. I'm I'm giving him the ball 25.
- 1:51:12Times. That's got to be a game where he
- 1:51:14almost breaks the Carries record, just like it's like last
- 1:51:18week. And then Lamar?
- 1:51:20Was pretty solid in this one, but he threw that fucking excuse
- 1:51:25me, the meatball sub. Of the.
- 1:51:28Century to lose. I mean that dude it looked like.
- 1:51:31Who picked that off? Was it Alonte Taylor?
- 1:51:33It was Julian Blackman. It was Julian Black.
- 1:51:36I looked like Blackman was the. Receiver.
- 1:51:37Yeah, it looked like he was the one.
- 1:51:39Running the route. He's able to just hang out in
- 1:51:41the zone and that play at the end by kool-aid to force a punt
- 1:51:47for us to be able to come back out there and take the lead.
- 1:51:49It looked like he got beat on a post route, just pokes his arm
- 1:51:53in there and you see the ball pops out.
- 1:51:55It's just a very last second play on the ball and we're able
- 1:51:58to get it back all right. Tyler Shuck almost bent his
- 1:52:02spine in half to win that football game.
- 1:52:05The Bengals. This could be a scary team.
- 1:52:07This defense is all much improved.
- 1:52:09They absolutely shut down Houston's running game.
- 1:52:13I kind of let Dalton Schultz carve him up, but like, she just
- 1:52:16shot through. For 3:53 and 1:40 but.
- 1:52:19They only gave up six points like they were very bent but
- 1:52:24don't break and. Best we've seen him play.
- 1:52:27In, I mean, years. They've been able to they
- 1:52:30weren't didn't force as many turnovers this week.
- 1:52:33But like I, I think this Bengals offense.
- 1:52:36Hasn't. Even really been.
- 1:52:38That sharp to start, which is like this is kind of.
- 1:52:42Scary. And so the other thing, too.
- 1:52:46No turnovers like taking the ball away.
- 1:52:48But O for four on 4th down for the Texans they were.
- 1:52:53That's a turnover. That's.
- 1:52:54Yeah, that's four like the Bengal.
- 1:52:56So they had like the four takeaways like fumbles in the
- 1:52:59receptions the week before, 4 stops on 4th down and they
- 1:53:04Texans were five of 17 on. So like this defense is much
- 1:53:12improved and. I think like.
- 1:53:14Like sexy Dexy was a great good. Addition in the run.
- 1:53:19See it? Here they're shut.
- 1:53:21Down Jonathan, I love Jonathan, but I think the the best pickup
- 1:53:25that they had. I'll actually some of the guys
- 1:53:27didn't want to give up the Kyle Dugger has been big.
- 1:53:29That was a great pickup for them.
- 1:53:31Boy a Mafe has really improved that lineback room.
- 1:53:35But I think Brian Cook was the best AD that they had like just
- 1:53:39back there as a as their free safety.
- 1:53:42He was so good on the Chiefs and I think he's just been really
- 1:53:46good. Field a field general type of
- 1:53:49safety where he's just like coverage specialist.
- 1:53:52And Dimitri is that's what they needed kind of breaking out.
- 1:53:54And he's, he's have, he had 12 tackles and this one.
- 1:53:59The Bengals could be scared because like, again, bro really
- 1:54:02hasn't been. That good?
- 1:54:05And chase this game, they were all the same page.
- 1:54:08We're waiting to see them really start to connect.
- 1:54:11Like they he had the chase at the phenomenal.
- 1:54:13Catch 2 touchdowns in this one. T Higgins racked up 95 yards.
- 1:54:19I mean, the Bengals could win the North.
- 1:54:23Definitely that could be they could be back this this defense.
- 1:54:26Is is miles better than what they were?
- 1:54:30They can that they're showing now.
- 1:54:32They can hang with any team in their division.
- 1:54:36They're healthy now. Defense can compete.
- 1:54:40All right, time to go. My Broncos.
- 1:54:44It wasn't pretty, but we, we finally, we finally.
- 1:54:46Got our act together in the second-half of this game.
- 1:54:51It doesn't come pretty sometimes.
- 1:54:53You got to be a second-half team.
- 1:54:54Look, our first 17 drives of the season, we managed to score 13
- 1:55:00points and then we scored 17 on their last three drives.
- 1:55:06And I'm not counting the one where we we ended it kneeling it
- 1:55:10down. That was just us.
- 1:55:12Our our objective wasn't the score, it was even the jacks.
- 1:55:15Timeouts and kneel it down. I think after how efficient
- 1:55:20Lawrence was last week to see. Him come out of here with only
- 1:55:23with no touchdown passes, 189 yards and then interception.
- 1:55:27Love to see that from the defense.
- 1:55:29Much better job tackling. And the play calling especially
- 1:55:34like once Jonah Coleman sort of took over back there, the
- 1:55:39running. Game looked a lot better.
- 1:55:41I love 28 rushing attempts, love to see that That's what I want.
- 1:55:44I want us to be running the football some more.
- 1:55:47New starter, potentially Jonah Cole, I'd.
- 1:55:50Like JK and RJ are both dealing with hamstrings.
- 1:55:52JK hurt his SO I think regardless of if JK's healthy or
- 1:55:56not, Jonah Coleman needs like at least 10 inches a game.
- 1:55:59What did he say? He sold Scotty Gaines that he
- 1:56:02was going to play the whole season.
- 1:56:04He did say that he's hurt. He's hurt.
- 1:56:06We do come. On Dude, what are we doing?
- 1:56:09Besides the the bad interception and the slow start in the
- 1:56:13second-half, Bo was Bo was locked in in the second-half of
- 1:56:17the game. He's really.
- 1:56:20Efficient in the second. That's all Jalen Jalen Waddle
- 1:56:24got him going 8. Catches for 138 yards but I
- 1:56:28don't remember the last time I seen the Broncos wide receiver
- 1:56:31put up a start line like that dude.
- 1:56:33Who did he shake on the sideline like that could have been a
- 1:56:37touchdown. It wasn't the goal because it
- 1:56:39was late in the IT was in the second quarter.
- 1:56:41There was a sideline throw, but he had a double move, found
- 1:56:46somebody on the Jaguars and just shook him.
- 1:56:49He was wide open down the sideline.
- 1:56:51Yeah. I don't remember.
- 1:56:53He's just so. He was so fast, too, that he
- 1:56:55outran the ball. But this is what this is what we
- 1:56:59were looking for. This is what we were trying to
- 1:57:00find. Maid Atkins still the the only
- 1:57:05guy that catch a touchdown, which is just hilarious.
- 1:57:07But yeah, much better performance all around.
- 1:57:12The defense looked like it's usual self Patzer Tan with a big
- 1:57:16pass break up on 3rd down. Riley Moss gets the pick.
- 1:57:21We saw Zach Allen was like was very disruptive in this game and
- 1:57:28then where's Nick? I don't think Nick almost got a
- 1:57:33sack in this one. So it was just good.
- 1:57:36This just good to see the defense doing what they what
- 1:57:41they had done a lot last year. All right, we've got 4 minutes.
- 1:57:46We'll try to speed run through the rest of this commanders as a
- 1:57:49blowout DAC was lights. Out through for four touchdowns,
- 1:57:53Jayden didn't get hurt at the end of half time.
- 1:57:55This might have been a different game, but they were hanging
- 1:58:00around with Dallas and they had a chance to potentially tie this
- 1:58:03game up going in the half and. They might have a more curse
- 1:58:06field than MetLife Stadium on the 5 yard line.
- 1:58:10Jayden Daniels arm on Sunday. Joe Burrows ACL also on the same
- 1:58:155 yard line. Adrian Peterson tore his ACL on
- 1:58:19the seven yard line. RG3's ACL on the same 7 yard
- 1:58:23line. Alex Smith's leg on the 15.
- 1:58:27Ryan Fitzpatrick's hip. I don't know.
- 1:58:29I don't know why he's on the graphic, but he broke his hip in
- 1:58:31the red zone. Chase Young's ACL on the 15 yard
- 1:58:36line and Kyle Allen's leg on the 21 all like franchise players
- 1:58:42for the team, and they're all in the red zone.
- 1:58:45Yeah. That's that's insane.
- 1:58:48I didn't know that it was, you know, necessarily that cursed I.
- 1:58:53Had a lot. It was mostly.
- 1:58:55Blowouts in the late window the. Broncos game was was.
- 1:58:57Close and the Chargers game was kind of close, but another
- 1:59:01blowout. I mean the Niners just dog
- 1:59:03walked Miami. Brock pretty only had two
- 1:59:05incomplete passes, 287 two touchdowns.
- 1:59:09They ran. They had like 3 rushing
- 1:59:10touchdowns. I think he probably also had one
- 1:59:13of those rushing touchdowns. Yeah, the Niners looking really
- 1:59:17good. That's the NFC West is going to
- 1:59:21be super good and then Seattle going in there is on the back of
- 1:59:25quarterback no problem. I mean, they just hammered the
- 1:59:29Cardinals 31 to 7 JSM with his first NFL hat trick.
- 1:59:35I think it's safe to say that guy's the best receiver in the
- 1:59:38NFL and I don't think it's a debate.
- 1:59:41I think we can comfortably say right now he is definitely.
- 1:59:45The best wide receiver in the NFL. 9 catches 100 and. 55
- 1:59:48yards, 3 touchdowns. Enough said.
- 1:59:51Makes Drew Lock's job really easy when he's just running wide
- 1:59:56open down the sidelines for an 82 yard touchdown.
- 2:00:00Chargers panic button in LA there.
- 2:00:03What is going on? Yeah, they're offense over
- 2:00:08overpay on on Mike McDaniels. Maybe.
- 2:00:12He's spent a lot of money on him.
- 2:00:14It's only getting harder. For now, their first two games
- 2:00:17are supposed to be the easy part of their schedule.
- 2:00:19So right, there's two and O, but the Chiefs are first in the
- 2:00:23division again. Mahomes looks like his old self.
- 2:00:26They have a lethal running game. Oh God Kansas City might be
- 2:00:29back. Can't believe Shane Stacking
- 2:00:31didn't go for the 4th down did. You just you knew that the.
- 2:00:34Chiefs were going to get the ball back and win that game,
- 2:00:36but. He should've.
- 2:00:37The Musics playing our last note.
- 2:00:39Giants fans. I'm so sorry, Jackson.
- 2:00:41'S art might be done for the year and you just got
- 2:00:44embarrassed by the Rams of national television.
- 2:00:47A nice vintage Devante. Adams game, though, just talk
- 2:00:51about that 195 and two touchdowns and then Stafford 327
- 2:00:55and 14, all right? I think the Rams are.
- 2:00:59Back, but we got to sign off the air.
