- 0:05Speaker 1: Okay.
- 0:05Speaker 2: One thing about me, guys and girls, is I very
- 0:08Speaker 2: rarely miss a home game, and in fact, in five
- 0:11Speaker 2: years on the Cardinals beat, I don't think I've ever
- 0:13Speaker 2: missed an entire home series at Bush Stadium before until
- 0:17Speaker 2: this weekend.
- 0:18Speaker 1: And what's my reward? Nothing casual, Just Yadia.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Armelina coming back to Saint Louis and being in the dugout.
- 0:25Speaker 2: So that's where I'm at. Tried to take a weekend vacation,
- 0:27Speaker 2: got rewarded with missing that. Welcome back to Cardinal territory.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Yes it is true.
- 0:32Speaker 2: You saw it yesterday and the Cardinals five to zero
- 0:34Speaker 2: win over the Chicago Cubs. YadA Amelina is back in
- 0:37Speaker 2: Saint Louis. He was invited by manager Allie Marble to
- 0:40Speaker 2: be in the dugout in uniform for Friday and Saturday's game.
- 0:44Speaker 2: YACHTI was in town for a signing event in Saint
- 0:46Speaker 2: Louis and reached out a couple months ago, letting John
- 0:48Speaker 2: Mozelav know that he was going to be in town.
- 0:50Speaker 2: The two bought to talking and Moe reached out to
- 0:53Speaker 2: Olie and said, hey, what do you think about having
- 0:56Speaker 2: YACHTI back and finds to be the dugout around the guys,
- 0:59Speaker 2: and Ollie Marmel said, absolutely, no brainer, bring back number four.
- 1:03Speaker 1: So they did. And again I wasn't there, but.
- 1:07Speaker 2: The pictures in the video looked awesome, and I just
- 1:10Speaker 2: I would imagine that having Yachti back after such a
- 1:13Speaker 2: prolonged and notable absence was a welcome time for everyone
- 1:17Speaker 2: in the organization, whether it's players, whether it's coaches, and
- 1:20Speaker 2: especially the fans. So really great to see Number four
- 1:23Speaker 2: take out the lineup card yesterday, do some work with
- 1:27Speaker 2: Poso pau Haz.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Just been around the guys. That does so much.
- 1:30Speaker 2: You all know what Yachti's impact is in this organization,
- 1:32Speaker 2: you don't need to tell you. But to have him
- 1:34Speaker 2: back in Saint Louis and to see him be more
- 1:36Speaker 2: involved with the team just really cool at a time
- 1:38Speaker 2: where I think we could all need it. You know,
- 1:39Speaker 2: not a lot of great vibes around the organization right now.
- 1:42Speaker 2: YACHTI certainly does that. Now let's talk about why this
- 1:45Speaker 2: was such a big deal. Okay, why did Ali Marmel
- 1:49Speaker 2: invite Yatti to be in the dugout? We know that
- 1:53Speaker 2: all he's under contracts through twenty twenty six, right, so
- 1:56Speaker 2: he's one year remaining on his deal, but it is natural.
- 1:58Speaker 2: It is a fair to speculate what any manager's position
- 2:02Speaker 2: is with the club when you know a new front
- 2:04Speaker 2: office is coming in. John Mozelak is stepping down in October.
- 2:06Speaker 2: We know this Heim Bloom will take over as soon
- 2:08Speaker 2: as the off season starts. I don't think there's an
- 2:10Speaker 2: exact date. There will be some sort of crossover, but
- 2:12Speaker 2: once the off season is officially here, it's Heim Bloom show.
- 2:16Speaker 1: What that means for Allie Marmal and his coaching.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Staff is fair to question, though I will say I
- 2:21Speaker 2: don't think the Cardinals have given any inclination that they're
- 2:23Speaker 2: going to make a manager change, and honestly, I don't
- 2:25Speaker 2: think they should.
- 2:26Speaker 1: But that's a story for another podcast episode.
- 2:29Speaker 2: But I think all he understands what he is inviting
- 2:32Speaker 2: in the speculation, the rumors, the storylines. By having Yachti
- 2:37Speaker 2: beyond his staff in the dugout, just even for just
- 2:39Speaker 2: a couple of games, we know what kind of perception
- 2:41Speaker 2: that could bring.
- 2:42Speaker 1: You add in the fact that Saturday's game.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Is a nationally televised game on Fox and Sunday is
- 2:47Speaker 2: Sunday Night based on ESPN There's going to be a
- 2:49Speaker 2: lot of national attention about this, but I thought it
- 2:52Speaker 2: said a lot about Ali's character and what he wants
- 2:55Speaker 2: to do for his clubhouse. The fact that he could
- 2:57Speaker 2: put all that aside, all the speculation, his own ego,
- 3:01Speaker 2: and bring in someone who has actively said he wants
- 3:03Speaker 2: to manage in baseball at some point in his career.
- 3:06Speaker 2: So when we talked to Ali about this. I talked
- 3:08Speaker 2: to him Thursday night. Here's I thought this quote was
- 3:11Speaker 2: super telling. I asked him, Hey, why I understand. I
- 3:15Speaker 2: think everyone understands why Yachti is here, but do you
- 3:17Speaker 2: understand what kind of speculation you're like the door that
- 3:19Speaker 2: you're opening here? And here's what he said. I'll read
- 3:22Speaker 2: the strip from the Athletic. Anytime you get the chance
- 3:25Speaker 2: to have someone like Yachti around your players, you take it.
- 3:27Speaker 2: It's a no brainer. The experience, the leadership, the presidency brings,
- 3:31Speaker 2: it impacts everyone. As soon as I heard he was
- 3:33Speaker 2: going to be in town, inviting him to sit next
- 3:35Speaker 2: to me was the right move. It's good for the players,
- 3:37Speaker 2: good for the staff, and honestly it's great for the
- 3:39Speaker 2: fans too.
- 3:40Speaker 1: I thought that was such a cool answer. All right.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Alli knows.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Alli Marmle knows exactly what the narrative is going to
- 3:45Speaker 2: be like. Could this be his replacement? Is he bringing
- 3:48Speaker 2: his replacement in on staff to sit next to him?
- 3:50Speaker 1: He doesn't care. He went out and talked about how
- 3:54Speaker 1: exciting and impactful it is to have Yachdi here.
- 3:57Speaker 2: He said, I really enjoyed my time with Yachti, both
- 3:59Speaker 2: as a coach and as a manager.
- 4:00Speaker 1: I'm looking forward to having him back in uniform.
- 4:02Speaker 2: There's a deep respect there, not just for how he
- 4:04Speaker 2: sees the game, but for the way he carries himself.
- 4:07Speaker 2: Even in just a short window, I know he can
- 4:09Speaker 2: leave a lasting impact on our players. He leads by
- 4:11Speaker 2: example and in his own powerful way. He shows these
- 4:14Speaker 2: young guys what's possible when you pour everything you have
- 4:16Speaker 2: into the game, that kind of presence, it stays with you.
- 4:19Speaker 2: And obviously, if you've watched Yatti play at all, which
- 4:22Speaker 2: all Cardinals fans have, you know how true that is.
- 4:24Speaker 1: And for given the influx.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Of youth on the roster currently and the lack of experience,
- 4:29Speaker 2: and this is no knock on any of those guys,
- 4:31Speaker 2: it's just the factor of the matter where they are
- 4:32Speaker 2: in their careers. Having someone like Yachty come in such
- 4:36Speaker 2: a He's a franchise icon, right, having his presence there
- 4:40Speaker 2: to show this next group of cardinals, Hey, this is
- 4:42Speaker 2: how we do it. It's exactly the right call for
- 4:44Speaker 2: everybody involved. So very cool to see number four back
- 4:47Speaker 2: in Saint Louis. I wish I could see that, but
- 4:50Speaker 2: I did see some from the local reporters, including John
- 4:53Speaker 2: DETNAMLB dot Com, that YACHTI is hoping to be around
- 4:56Speaker 2: the team a little bit more, maybe even when the
- 4:58Speaker 2: team goes and plays The Mammy mar In a couple
- 5:00Speaker 2: of weeks. So maybe I'll get my redemption shot because
- 5:03Speaker 2: I cannot believe that. I cannot believe that happened, just
- 5:06Speaker 2: my luck.
- 5:08Speaker 1: This will be a quick episode for you guys today.
- 5:10Speaker 1: We're gonna break down some bullpen rolls.
- 5:11Speaker 2: First, though, we are going to hear from our quick
- 5:15Speaker 2: message from our sponsors at Fair Harbor.
- 5:17Speaker 3: It's summertime, it's bathing suit time, and it's time to
- 5:20Speaker 3: get a better bathing suit liner. It's twenty twenty five, crats.
- 5:23Speaker 3: I would like to feel more comfortable, and I would
- 5:25Speaker 3: like to thank Fair Harbor for doing that.
- 5:28Speaker 4: It's super easy get the Fair Harbor breezon it liner
- 5:31Speaker 4: in your shorts. You can go play football on the beach,
- 5:34Speaker 4: you can play paddle ball, and you don't got to
- 5:37Speaker 4: worry about that crappy liner that other bathing suits have.
- 5:41Speaker 3: H it is so comfortable. You gotta check it out.
- 5:44Speaker 3: I'm telling you, it's like but but a baby. You
- 5:48Speaker 3: gotta check out the Fair Harbor not only bathing suits,
- 5:51Speaker 3: but they carry a full line of casual clothing shorts, shirts, hoodies.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Go to the website Fairharbor Clothing dot com. Slash foul
- 6:00Speaker 3: and use code foul for twenty percent off your first purchase.
- 6:03Speaker 3: That's Fair h A R B O R Clothing dot com.
- 6:08Speaker 3: Backslash foul for twenty percent off your first purchase, and
- 6:12Speaker 3: make sure that you use the ft promo code so
- 6:14Speaker 3: that they know we sent you and you get the discount.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Foul.
- 6:20Speaker 2: All right, We'll do a quick wrap up of yesterday's game.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Shout out Jordan Walker. That's my wrap up. He had
- 6:25Speaker 2: a really nice game. I saw the exit blows finally
- 6:28Speaker 2: hit one out. No bushdag nium effects for Jordan Walker
- 6:32Speaker 2: with that, Homer good to see him coming around. And
- 6:34Speaker 2: we talked on the prior episode about playing time and
- 6:37Speaker 2: how Ali Marmal can navigate that and how it's not perfect,
- 6:40Speaker 2: but you know there's everyone is going to get enough
- 6:42Speaker 2: at bats where the Cardinals can make decisions about guys
- 6:45Speaker 2: on their future. Jordan Walker seems to finally be figuring
- 6:48Speaker 2: things out at the plate. He has roughly seven weeks
- 6:50Speaker 2: to finish strong and then we'll go from there. But
- 6:52Speaker 2: a nice game from Jordan Walker. Yesterday when we were
- 6:56Speaker 2: down in La we got a chance to see the
- 6:58Speaker 2: Cardinals new bullpen, if you will, and the new big
- 7:01Speaker 2: three seems to be Kyle Lahy, Riley O'Brien and Jojo Romero.
- 7:06Speaker 2: The problem with this, as we know, is when you
- 7:08Speaker 2: have one lefty reliever in your bullpen like Jojo Romero,
- 7:12Speaker 2: it really impacts what kinds of lanes you can use
- 7:14Speaker 2: him in. Against the Dodgers, I thought this was the
- 7:16Speaker 2: perfect example. You have to save Jojo Romero for a
- 7:19Speaker 2: high leverage situation in the late innings. Okay, that's specific
- 7:24Speaker 2: to any team. For the Dodgers, you have to save
- 7:27Speaker 2: Jojo Romero for sho hey Otani in the later innings.
- 7:31Speaker 2: So Allie Marmel and Dusty Blake had to plan their
- 7:33Speaker 2: entire game plan strategy around it.
- 7:36Speaker 1: When Sho Hay was going to come.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Up and having Jojo available for that, it was not
- 7:41Speaker 2: saving him for the ninth. It was not saving him
- 7:43Speaker 2: for highest leverage. Well it kind of is, because Shoe
- 7:45Speaker 2: Otani is always highest leverage, but they specifically had to
- 7:48Speaker 2: save Jojo Romero for the Otani lane because after Otani
- 7:51Speaker 2: have Mookie Bets, who crushes you regardless. I know he's
- 7:53Speaker 2: having a down season offensively, but he's still Mookie Bets okay.
- 7:56Speaker 2: And then you have another lefty in Freddie Freeman. You
- 7:58Speaker 2: have to save Jojo Romero for that lane. So it's
- 8:00Speaker 2: allowed other players to step up. We'll talk with Riley
- 8:03Speaker 2: O'Brien first, who picked up his first save and Wednesday's win.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Riley O'Brien has really seemed to just have a night
- 8:10Speaker 2: and day when you think about when he was first
- 8:12Speaker 2: pitched in twenty twenty four, it was at Dodger Stadium
- 8:15Speaker 2: and he got rocked, and then he went on the
- 8:16Speaker 2: il shortly after and he just didn't look comfortable. It
- 8:19Speaker 2: looked like he was pitching I don't want to say scared,
- 8:21Speaker 2: but just didn't trust his stuff. You fast forward to
- 8:24Speaker 2: his last appearance at Dodger Stadium. He was lights out.
- 8:26Speaker 2: That's a guy who was super convicted and what he
- 8:28Speaker 2: wants to do and what he believes he can be.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Will we see Riley O'Brien in safe situations yes, Will
- 8:34Speaker 2: we see Jojo Romero in safe situations?
- 8:36Speaker 1: Yes? This is what the Cardinals mean by closer by committee.
- 8:39Speaker 2: You're probably gonna get one of those two, maybe Kyle Lahy,
- 8:41Speaker 2: but we'll get to him later, just based on lane.
- 8:44Speaker 1: In a perfect world, you.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Have Jojo Romero for the ninth every ninth, and you
- 8:47Speaker 2: can use him like a traditional closer like they did
- 8:49Speaker 2: to our pal Ryan Helsley. But because again there's only
- 8:52Speaker 2: one lefty, they have to save him for that lane,
- 8:55Speaker 2: which means other guys have to step up. And Riley
- 8:57Speaker 2: O'Brien's done a really nice job. We talked to him
- 8:58Speaker 2: on Wednesday after the game. We talked all three of
- 9:00Speaker 2: the relievers actually, and the common message between Jojo.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Riley and Kyle.
- 9:08Speaker 2: It's weird how like some players like you go by
- 9:11Speaker 2: their last name, Like I didn't like that.
- 9:12Speaker 1: I just referred to Kyle Lay as Kyle.
- 9:15Speaker 2: He's someone that you referred to as a last name anyway,
- 9:17Speaker 2: maybe that's a baseball thing. Maybe you guys understand what I'm
- 9:19Speaker 2: talking about. Who knows, or maybe you think I'm just crazy.
- 9:21Speaker 2: That's also true. But the common connection between those three
- 9:27Speaker 2: was the confidence they have in their abilities and they're like, yeah,
- 9:29Speaker 2: you know this is we can handle this. It's a
- 9:31Speaker 2: new role, it's higher leverage, more is at stake, but
- 9:33Speaker 2: we trust our stuff and you can see it.
- 9:36Speaker 1: On the mound.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Kyle Lay, I don't think his future is closer material,
- 9:40Speaker 2: and the Cardinals can use the next seven weeks of
- 9:42Speaker 2: the season to maybe jump start on who could be
- 9:44Speaker 2: their closer in twenty six. But when we talk to
- 9:46Speaker 2: Allie Marmel about this before Wednesday's game, the consensus was
- 9:50Speaker 2: that while Kyle Lay he has done an incredible job
- 9:52Speaker 2: as a high leverage bridge reliever, multi innings, versatile, can
- 9:56Speaker 2: go get right handed left handed hitters, the whole package,
- 9:59Speaker 2: his future is more looks to be more in line
- 10:03Speaker 2: with a potential starter. And this is something that the
- 10:05Speaker 2: Cardinals had talked about dating back to spring training. But
- 10:07Speaker 2: when you think about Kyle Lay, he's arsenal. He has
- 10:09Speaker 2: a six pitch arsenal. He's not overly splitty. He can
- 10:11Speaker 2: again get the right handed batters out, he can get
- 10:13Speaker 2: the left handed batters out. And the biggest thing about Lay,
- 10:16Speaker 2: to use an Oli phrase, is he doesn't scare.
- 10:19Speaker 1: And it's true. He goes out there.
- 10:21Speaker 2: He cooked the nicest guy off the field, Seriously, all
- 10:23Speaker 2: three of them are just delights. But he gets on
- 10:25Speaker 2: the mound and he has this calm demeanor where he
- 10:29Speaker 2: just knows he's going to get the result that he wants.
- 10:30Speaker 1: And he weathered through that rough period in.
- 10:32Speaker 2: June midway through the season where he was getting hit
- 10:34Speaker 2: hard and there was a lot of contact, he wasn't
- 10:36Speaker 2: getting a lot of swing and miss, and overcame it
- 10:39Speaker 2: and it is better for it, And isn't that the
- 10:41Speaker 2: whole point of the season.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Wasn't that the whole goal was to have players come
- 10:44Speaker 1: in adjust to the major leagues, struggle rally, and be better.
- 10:49Speaker 1: That's exactly what Kyle Lay he's been doing.
- 10:51Speaker 2: So they will use him in high leverage to finish
- 10:53Speaker 2: the season because there just aren't a lot of other
- 10:55Speaker 2: options out there. But I think when we go into
- 10:58Speaker 2: the off season, we're looking at potent Kyle Lahy being
- 11:02Speaker 2: a starter or stretching out to be a starter. He
- 11:03Speaker 2: certainly has the makeup to do so. All in all, though,
- 11:06Speaker 2: it's a tough bullpen. I mean, you have one lefty
- 11:09Speaker 2: and seven right handed relievers who all pretty much have
- 11:11Speaker 2: the same stuff and all have a year or less
- 11:14Speaker 2: of service time. So there is going to be some
- 11:16Speaker 2: growing pains with this group. But I'm excited about it,
- 11:19Speaker 2: especially with those three in particular. I think Gowen and
- 11:21Speaker 2: Crissepo can still be a factor for them. Just got
- 11:24Speaker 2: to have a little bit better results. But it's so
- 11:25Speaker 2: early in his career. I think, you know, the ceiling
- 11:27Speaker 2: is very high, and I'd like to see what Ryan
- 11:30Speaker 2: Fernandez does. I think the game, his outing on Tuesday,
- 11:33Speaker 2: it just kind of sped up on him his first
- 11:34Speaker 2: time back since his lengthy time in Memphis. But I
- 11:37Speaker 2: still think Ryan Fernandez can be a factor as well
- 11:38Speaker 2: in this club. So that's the bullpen. That's where we're
- 11:41Speaker 2: at quick break as we hear from our friends at
- 11:44Speaker 2: Arena Club, and we'll get to whatever I plan next.
- 11:46Speaker 3: I don't know a j I'm on my phone right
- 11:49Speaker 3: now in Arena Club and I'm looking at the Emerald
- 11:52Speaker 3: slab packs and I see in the grail a Bobby
- 11:55Speaker 3: Wit Junior twenty twenty Bowman Chrome Prospect Auto Gold Refractor card.
- 12:00Speaker 4: Give me that, give me your phone. I'm gonna I'm
- 12:02Speaker 4: gonna get you.
- 12:03Speaker 3: Well, you gotta buy it to me. I don't have it.
- 12:05Speaker 3: You know you have to get a slab pack.
- 12:07Speaker 4: No, I don't have that, and give me your slab pack.
- 12:09Speaker 4: That card's worth you bow you slab pack, Scott, so
- 12:11Speaker 4: I can get the Bobby with Junior Gold Refractor twenty
- 12:14Speaker 4: twenty Bowman Chrome Auto.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Because that sounds awesome and it's worth a lot. It's
- 12:18Speaker 1: worth a lot.
- 12:19Speaker 4: He's a stud, he's not going down. Get a grill.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Get a grill.
- 12:22Speaker 4: I want a gril, Scott, give me the holy grill.
- 12:25Speaker 4: You do it.
- 12:25Speaker 3: To do that, you must get yourself a slab pack
- 12:28Speaker 3: in Arena Club or if you want to get it
- 12:30Speaker 3: for a friend, you can do that too. And right
- 12:32Speaker 3: now you can get twenty percent off your first slab
- 12:34Speaker 3: pack or your first card purchase for going on there.
- 12:37Speaker 3: And you're just like, hey, I want a specific card.
- 12:39Speaker 3: I find it there. I want to grab it for
- 12:41Speaker 3: my showroom. Arena Club dot com slash foul and use
- 12:45Speaker 3: the code fo U l.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Here's this next segment. I have planned who's your breakout
- 12:51Speaker 2: player the rest of the season. Like we said, we
- 12:53Speaker 2: have seven eight weeks left of twenty twenty five. That's crazy,
- 12:58Speaker 2: and it's going to be all about the future. The
- 13:00Speaker 2: progative going forward is twenty twenty six and beyond. So
- 13:02Speaker 2: who is the player that you are looking at to
- 13:05Speaker 2: take steps forward that you think is going to be
- 13:07Speaker 2: instrumental in the future of this club. For me, it's
- 13:09Speaker 2: Victor Scott the second and it's easy.
- 13:12Speaker 1: There are certain.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Players that when you see how they show up to
- 13:14Speaker 2: the clubhouse every day and the amount of work they
- 13:16Speaker 2: put in and how intentional they are about that work,
- 13:18Speaker 2: you understand why the organization is so what's the word
- 13:23Speaker 2: I'm looking for, optimistic or so convicted? That's what I'm
- 13:28Speaker 2: looking for. You'll understand why the organization is so convicted
- 13:32Speaker 2: in this player's future. I know, offensively, it has not
- 13:35Speaker 2: been great for Victor Scott, and he'll be the first
- 13:37Speaker 2: to tell you that. You'll be the first to say, hey,
- 13:38Speaker 2: I have to hit a little bit more consistently because
- 13:41Speaker 2: he is such a weapon. Though once he gets on base,
- 13:43Speaker 2: it's easy for him to extend another ninety one hundred
- 13:46Speaker 2: and twenty feet. I like what you said a couple
- 13:48Speaker 2: of weeks ago when he said, essentially, if I walk,
- 13:50Speaker 2: I can turn that into a double.
- 13:52Speaker 1: I just have to go on base more. And that's true.
- 13:54Speaker 1: He is so fast, he's so speedy, he's such a
- 13:56Speaker 1: threat on the base paths.
- 13:57Speaker 2: As long as he's getting on base, it doesn't matter
- 14:00Speaker 2: how that's an immediate impact in your lineup. He just
- 14:03Speaker 2: has to do it more consistently. I understand that there
- 14:06Speaker 2: is some clamor because he hasn't been able to really
- 14:09Speaker 2: string together consistent offense yet keyword. Yet that's why the
- 14:13Speaker 2: Cardinals have to keep playing him one. He's the only
- 14:15Speaker 2: true center fielder. Okay, yeah, Garret Hampson can do it,
- 14:17Speaker 2: Lars Newbar can do it, but Victor Scott is the
- 14:19Speaker 2: center fielder of the future. So he should be out
- 14:21Speaker 2: there every day. And the only way he's going to
- 14:23Speaker 2: get better offensively, because I think the defense is I mean,
- 14:28Speaker 2: we all know what kind of defender Victor Scott. The
- 14:29Speaker 2: second is all right, he has such such a high ceiling,
- 14:31Speaker 2: and to be honest, I don't even think he's touched
- 14:33Speaker 2: it yet. I think he's on his way, But I
- 14:34Speaker 2: think the potential is so much higher offensively when you
- 14:37Speaker 2: get there for him. That's by keeping him in the lineup,
- 14:41Speaker 2: you're expediting that process. There are going to be growing pains.
- 14:43Speaker 1: We saw this. We just talked about this with Leahy.
- 14:45Speaker 2: We've seen growing pains across the board, whether it was Burlison,
- 14:49Speaker 2: Herrera like, take your pick of whatever. Cardinal is performing
- 14:52Speaker 2: well right now, they have growing pains too. So I'm
- 14:55Speaker 2: watching Victor Scott the second for the rest of the
- 14:57Speaker 2: season because I believe that he can figure this out offensively,
- 15:00Speaker 2: he can get on base a little bit more consistently,
- 15:02Speaker 2: and when he does that, he will be a true
- 15:04Speaker 2: impact player on both sides of the ball. That's why
- 15:07Speaker 2: Allie Marble has to keep Victor in the lineup every day.
- 15:10Speaker 2: I know that we've been talking about the puzzle of
- 15:13Speaker 2: the roster, how people are going to fit in, well,
- 15:15Speaker 2: how can he get at bats for Gorman and Walker
- 15:17Speaker 2: and Burlison and new Bar.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
- 15:21Speaker 2: And the common I think fan perspective is, well, Victor
- 15:24Speaker 2: Scott's slumping, so take him out of the lineup. That's
- 15:25Speaker 2: the worst thing, the worst thing the Cardinals can do.
- 15:27Speaker 2: He needs to play every day because he's going to
- 15:29Speaker 2: be an everyday player, and the organization is so strongly
- 15:33Speaker 2: Trump believes so strongly that he is going to figure
- 15:36Speaker 2: it out on both sides of the ball. The only
- 15:38Speaker 2: way he does that is by playing every day. So
- 15:41Speaker 2: Victor Scott the second is my breakout player the rest
- 15:43Speaker 2: of the year. Drop me yours, because I think there
- 15:46Speaker 2: are several I mean, you could say the same about
- 15:48Speaker 2: Lars Nuwbarr, who's future Maybe this is dramatic, might hinge
- 15:52Speaker 2: on the next two months of the season. The Cardinals,
- 15:54Speaker 2: we know already have so many corner outfielders, and Lars
- 15:57Speaker 2: is athletic enough to play you know, all three spots,
- 16:00Speaker 2: but he profiles much better as a left or right fielder.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Can he stay healthy that was his big evaluation, and
- 16:05Speaker 2: knock on Wood to an extent mostly he has one
- 16:09Speaker 2: time on the injury list, is really I mean, I
- 16:11Speaker 2: think the Cardinals will take that right again. Can Jordan
- 16:14Speaker 2: Walker figure out how to hit the ball consistently and
- 16:16Speaker 2: be an impact player?
- 16:17Speaker 1: What can Nolan Gorman do with his sample size?
- 16:20Speaker 2: We know that Alec Gurlison is going to stay in
- 16:22Speaker 2: the lineup every day, and he should, He's earned it.
- 16:26Speaker 2: What can I von Horrera do in left field? What
- 16:28Speaker 2: can von Horrera do to finish the season healthy? These
- 16:30Speaker 2: are all things I'm looking at. But Victor Scott the
- 16:32Speaker 2: second that's my breakout player. I'm really excited to see
- 16:35Speaker 2: what his future looks like, because again, I don't even
- 16:37Speaker 2: think he's touched his ceiling.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Don't forget you, guys.
