- Haidee Griswold: So Shannon, we made a podcast. Shannon: kind of. We've been recording in the background, but for listeners who don't know they're going to be dedicated followers for the remainder of their lives, perhaps. we have episodes that are coming soon on October eighth. Haidee Griswold: Details, details. We've been talking about this podcast for over a year and the fact that we are so close to launching, in my mind, Pop the Champagne, we have a podcast. Shannon: That's fair. We have announced it, which has been super fun. And I feel like traction and people like commenting is so much fun. but this is going to be our sort of in-betweener wiener where we are telling you Haidee Griswold: sorry. In betweener wiener. That is a new that's a new phrase for me. Is that is that in between Shannon: It's very corporate. Haidee Griswold: dates? Shannon: is it bi weekly meaning twice a week or every other? yeah. So this is Haidee Griswold: In betweener wiener. Which is now the title of this episode. Shannon: we just wanted to sort of give what will be future listeners a little insight into what is coming, why we made this podcast, and of course can't forget the cocktails. so cheers, Idie. Haidee Griswold: years. This has been a long time coming. Shannon and I hold on, have to take a sip. Shannon and I have shared so many stories over the years. We're talking rage walks, emergency coffee meetups, like we had to really debrief stories that have happened to us. Shannon: Happy hours. Haidee Griswold: Yes, many, many happy hours. And we needed a way or wanted a way to stay connected, but also just to some of the stories that other people have shared with us, especially Shannon, who I think everyone, whether they barely know her or known her for years, love to tell Shannon their entire life story. So there's so much good content that we wanted to bring to everybody while also keeping that fun energy that we have together alive. Shannon: It's true. I feel like some of the content that is in my brain that sometimes I just purposely forget. I don't know why I have it. and so Haidee Griswold: It's a coping mechanism. Shannon: this is really my therapy session, and I hope others will find it as their group therapy. but yeah, we have created this because not only what Heidi just said, but it's just kind of fun to share and do something different, and neither of us had been in podcasting before and we've actually been working on this for over a year and really trying to learn how to use the tools and sort of what format we want this to be. And so we think we're at the place where, well at least fuck it. Let's put it out there and get some feedback and Heidi and I have been in the corporate world long enough and love some performance reviews and so would love for people to give us their thoughts. Haidee Griswold: Leave it in the comments. Make it clean, people. Shannon: Yeah, or if you have something not so nice to say, just send it directly. We also really appreciate that, but not public. Haidee Griswold: I mean I like a public shaming. I've been in corporate for a long time, so I'll take a public shaming any day. So Shannon: as you can tell, Heidi is our marketing angle of this partnership. Haidee Griswold: For better or for worse, yes. so listeners, here's what you can expect when you listen to each of our episodes. We'll have a a guest on and we'll have a drink together because you know, cocktails are first. And we'll have a drink and chat about a funny corporate topic, whether it be office romances or holiday parties or having to sign an office card. Anything that we can just, you know, get the juices flowing, get to know our guest, and then we chat about the funny corporate topic. So that's where the guest themselves shares the the chaotic story that they've been willing and wanting to share for a while. And we'll dive into that chaos, have some laughs along the way, and make you feel like you're a part of that happy hour sitting at the table with all three of us. Shannon: So feel free to pour a drink for yourself as you're listening, or maybe you'll listen to us on your drive home and immediately want to drink once you get home. As maybe there's some trauma bonding that will occur as becoming a listener. But we will then sort of end the episode with the guest in what we are calling a last call round and so we do rapid fire questions, we have the guest answer, but then Heidi and or myself will also contribute. And then the one question we ask everybody is what is your least favorite corporate buzzword? Because everybody's got one. Haidee Griswold: there are so many of them. We'll circle back on that later. Shannon: Yeah. So true. and so really we would just love for you to listen along and give us your feedback as we've said, and ultimately enjoy some laughs and maybe be a guest one day. Haidee Griswold: So Shannon, tell the listeners a little bit about you. Shannon: Well, I am a through and through happy hour lover and outside of my drinking capabilities, I also love to play hockey. I'm originally Canadian and so grew up playing, still play women's hockey, I fucking love it, and then explore the world. big traveler or also love to go out in my husband and I have a van that we call Stevie as we are childless and Stevie is our kiddo that we drive around and get to explore. and ski, hike, spend time with friends and, you know, just really enjoy trying new things such as podcasting. And what about you, Heidi? Haidee Griswold: And I love I was gonna say I love none that your bio includes work you were all about outside of the corporate drama experiences that you've had. Shannon: I mean, I'm in the how do I work to do all of those things in my spare time? So that is who I am. Haidee Griswold: Ugh. I'm yeah, I'm still a recovering corpaholic. I Shannon: A Haidee Griswold: have been working for almost twenty years in and out of different corporations and probably the opposite, spend way too much time in work and not enough time on hobbies. I also love a good happy hour and a good cocktail. Part of the reason why I love this podcast is I'm learning how to make really good cocktails at home too. I let's see, what is exciting about me? I am married and I have two boys. So not only do I like corporate chaos, but I also have at-home chaos. So I thrive in both scenarios. And I really enjoy, similar to Shannon, connecting with people and learning and validating some of the experiences that I've had to know that these guests have had things that are even wilder than what I thought was some of the craziest experiences I've had. So I've really enjoyed learning about other people and their stories and hearing them and just meeting p different people around the world with this because we're having people Shannon: Yes. Haidee Griswold: reach out to us from all over because this is not a strictly US or Canada phenomenon to have a wild workplace story. So I'm really excited to bring some of these to life. Shannon: And if you've gotten this far in this video, please note that you won't see a ton of videos from us as we are Haidee Griswold: Yeah. Shannon: a non video podcast to keep our guests anonymous, but we enjoy being able to once in a while show you our made for radio faces. I mean I comb my hair. Haidee Griswold: I put a bra on for this Shannon. Okay. There you go. Shannon: Well, tune in on October eighth and listen for some fun, exciting times to come. Haidee Griswold: And as always, like and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. Follow us on Instagram and keep the stories coming.
