  What's up 7UP? And I feel this is going to be a

  bit of a, a fun podcast, but we'll we'll see how we go with

  this. So we will start off with future

  shock and the very I'll fated name because I still hate the
• 1:23
  name future shock of the lightning.

  Does anyone have an idea what it's supposed to be a take on?

  In the promotional material they kept using the Oasis song Shock
• 1:39
  of the Lightning, so I think it's just an Oasis reference.
• 1:45
  It's a very vague Oasis reference, I'll say that.

  But we will get into this because we have quite a lot to
• 1:56
  talk about on this episode. So we had the Future Shock
• 2:01
  tournament which traditionally takes place every December and
• 2:07
  the opening contest was Scott Olbermann taking on the
• 2:12
  Vigilante Bentley. I will throw this open to anyone
• 2:19
  that can either remember or has any thoughts on this match.
• 2:28
  From going in this, it was an interesting crowds that night
• 2:36
  because it was a lot younger than the usual.
• 2:40
  Obviously if you shock, it's all all ages, but but you only get
• 2:44
  about four or five kids like, you know, for especially for the
• 2:50
  Guild hall because it is like, you know where they do like, you
• 2:52
  know, the big shows well, like, you know, title changes happen
• 2:56
  and everything. But this it was a younger crowd
• 3:01
  and I think many of them didn't know many of the wrestlers going
• 3:05
  in. So they had an interesting
• 3:10
  challenge to grip the attention early doors.
• 3:16
  But Bentley, he's come a long way.
• 3:20
  I feel like 2025, it's been his year.
• 3:23
  We've seen his growth and development.
• 3:26
  Obviously he just came off the back of one of the best matches
• 3:31
  of the year for future Shock against Brian struck Brian
• 3:36
  Strong. He didn't wrestle a corpse.
• 3:43
  Yeah. Against Bryke Strong in the Was
• 3:45
  it a chairs match? It it was indeed a chairs match.
• 3:50
  Yeah, and then obviously Scott Omen his year holding the
• 3:56
  Adrenaline title for the majority of the year.

  So just two men who they basically summed up Future Shock
• 4:05
  in 2025. So it was a good way to open it
• 4:08
  to both fit the tournament for the match itself.
• 4:12
  It was it was all right, neither of the men's best, but it
• 4:20
  definitely it would definitely a high spot of the night.

  It would definitely a really good match because I just
• 4:25
  remember Bentley flipping over Overman.
• 4:30
  Even though Overman would bend down, he was still a it was
• 4:32
  still a huge thing size. He had to flip over because
• 4:35
  Oman's really that tall and it just was a solid match for out
• 4:44
  and and there were times where I thought Bentley would pull the
• 4:46
  upset with this because it were really convincing.
• 4:51
  It was probably it didn't feel long.
• 4:56
  It was probably one of the only matches which didn't drag at any
• 5:00
  point. There wasn't a point where it's
• 5:01
  like, oh, can we go on a bit like, because some of these
• 5:05
  matches, there were times that were like, oh, they're a bit the
• 5:08
  dragon out, you know, action slowed and everything.
• 5:12
  So yeah. Can you remember much miles?

  I remember Olbermann doing that big spare to Bentley on the
• 5:22
  floor and Bentley just crumbled. That was like the main spot from
• 5:26
  that match I remember. I also remember Bentley
• 5:29
  struggling to get up on the ropes because it for some reason
• 5:32
  the ropes were dead slippy for Bentley.
• 5:34
  I don't know what they've greased up the ropes with
• 5:37
  because I think Bentley had Oberman on his shoulders.
• 5:40
  It was like a fireman's carry position carrying him up the
• 5:43
  ropes and he just kept slipping off the ropes.
• 5:46
  But it happens. It didn't affect the match.
• 5:48
  They carried on after the slips. Overall, it was a solid match.
• 5:54
  Maybe it's because it's a new ring, because obviously after
• 5:58
  bumps in the night you had to get a whole new ring.

  One thing I do recall from this match, as you mentioned the the
• 6:09
  kids that were in the audience, I think they were returnees from
• 6:15
  the show at the union because on because on the the two shows we
• 6:21
  had. Did you do both shows or did you
• 6:23
  just do the the one Sam? So Saturdays, that's when I
• 6:29
  work. So I didn't go to eBay.

  In fact I skip. I skipped the union most times.
• 6:37
  Well I'm fairly sure that these were the same kids that went to
• 6:42
  show 1 and they were. Normally when you have kids you
• 6:48
  expect them to just like scream and not care as much about the
• 6:54
  matches. They were probably the most
• 6:56
  vocal fans out of Future Shock I've known this year and I think
• 7:04
  it was someone made a chant at Olbermann and I think it was
• 7:08
  about his hair, but I can't remember what the actual Heckle
• 7:14
  that Scott got. Oh, it was somewhat stupid, like
• 7:16
  your hairs and your beard or something like that.
• 7:21
  Oh, that would make no sense. Yes, they came out with a really
• 7:24
  good one and then they tried to follow it up with was it your
• 7:28
  beards? Your beards got hair on it,
• 7:31
  yeah, which did not work. It was like quit while you're
• 7:36
  ahead. But they come out with like 1
• 7:41
  Heckle towards Scott who had to cover his face because even he
• 7:44
  was laughing at it. The match itself though, I think
• 7:52
  near enough, all of them, they all worked to to some degree.

  This was we'd said on like a on Jack's podcast.

  We did not give Olbermann a hope of making the final because we
• 8:12
  thought it was a bit too obvious or him saying if I lose, I'm
• 8:17
  going to completely quit future shock.

  So we probably thought about it far too much on that occasion.
• 8:28
  But as it was, Olbermann did win, hitting the spirit of the
• 8:33
  Blues for the 123. Olbermann, who looked like he
• 8:41
  was a FIFA goal celebration, constantly raising his arms and
• 8:47
  saying it's divine intervention. God wants me to win.

  Oh yeah, I forgot they had like this angle all night of Scott
• 8:57
  Ullman basically being really like depressed and like and just
• 9:03
  going through the two motions. Almost.
• 9:10
  But it was, it was when he came over to our corner.
• 9:14
  So he'd done his entrance, kind of kneeled in the corner and
• 9:17
  just went, I'm really sad. And one person went good, which
• 9:24
  was a great comeback. But yeah.

  Olbermann qualified for the four man final match #2 saw Romi
• 9:36
  Kendrick taking on a former future Shock champion.
• 9:43
  I I think I told you both who it Oh, no, I didn't tell you Miles,

  but I did show you who it was going to be.

  Yeah, you show me. Show me who you said it was
• 9:55
  going to be. Because I think he'd actually
• 9:59
  mentioned it somewhere. Yeah, it was Facebook.

  He put the dates out beforehand and the 7th it was redacted or
• 10:08
  like to be decided. So everyone basically knew.

  So that what we're going to be. It's like, well, we kind of know
• 10:15
  where where this is going now. I mean, it could easily have
• 10:20
  been the opposite. You could have just lied to us
• 10:24
  all and just didn't bother. Out of all four of these
• 10:29
  matches, I felt this one dragged the most.

  The crowd didn't particularly seem to be into this one
• 10:39
  compared to the other three matches.
• 10:45
  A lot of people didn't care for Joe Romy did his best, but it
• 10:55
  just it was just one of those matches where just like nothing
• 11:00
  particularly clicked. And I think it would have been
• 11:03
  best if they kind of shortened it, but I don't know what
• 11:11
  anyone's take is before we because there's not a whole lot
• 11:16
  to talk about. Yeah, I agree.

  I think for the older lot in the crowd, when Joe Blazer debuted
• 11:28
  his AI theme song, that kind of sowed on him coming back to
• 11:33
  Future Shock because no one likes AI theme songs, as proven
• 11:40
  with the fact that no one is particularly sad for a Melissa
• 11:44
  Fierce match when she pops around.
• 11:48
  So, yeah, and what you're saying about the Union, I don't
• 11:53
  believe. Do Rami Kendrick have a match at
• 11:55
  the Union? Because if he didn't, then the
• 11:58
  younger ones in the crowd might not have known him.

  Maybe. He took on Solomon in what was a
• 12:11
  a poor match, but was saved massively by Romy because I
• 12:18
  think the problem with that match was the the bandages for
• 12:22
  Solomon seemed to it was almost like jocks watch on like what
• 12:27
  OSW do. The amount of times he kind of
• 12:31
  like had to alter his view and it was a it was a bit of a
• 12:36
  sloppy match, but this one just felt like there wasn't a whole
• 12:45
  lot going for it. I think we kind of knew Romy was
• 12:49
  going to go through. It was just how they were going
• 12:53
  to make it seem like put some doubt into the result.
• 12:59
  But yeah, it's, it was a shame, but it was, it was still just
• 13:09
  about fine, but it, it could have been better.

  Yeah, I think bell to bell though I think it would the
• 13:18
  worst match of the night, like on an in ring point of view.

  I mean, I mean, Romeo and Joe are good in the ring, but again,
• 13:30
  sometimes you you just have matches where they just do not
• 13:33
  click. And Miles in me have seen a
• 13:39
  couple of matches this year where we've seen three
• 13:42
  particular matches, then none of them clicked and I see a hand
• 13:47
  being raised. I felt like it was an OK match.

  I just wish Blaze had just stopped talking all much longer
• 13:55
  and just he just kept talking and taunting all much longer and
• 13:58
  it was just like very, you're playing too much of your gimmick
• 14:03
  here. Just wrestle a little bit.
• 14:05
  Then if you want to do a bit of talking and talking, put it down
• 14:09
  a little bit to like fit your heel character a bit more
• 14:12
  because it was too much. Overall, the match quality was
• 14:18
  it was there. It was a good match.
• 14:21
  I felt like Romy just dominated the match.
• 14:23
  It was Blazer just returning, trying to get his groove back in
• 14:27
  Future Shock. But I don't know, maybe you
• 14:31
  should have stuck as a face instead of returning as a heel
• 14:35
  because was he previously face of Future Shock?
• 14:39
  So when I first started going, he was the the big face at
• 14:45
  Future Shock because he was the champion.
• 14:49
  But as kind of like the months went on and the title reign went
• 14:53
  on, the him being a good guy seemed to get very stale for a
• 15:00
  lot of people. And you could see the crowd kind
• 15:03
  of like switching. So where there's like an
• 15:08
  inbetweener or even like a heel, you'd have kind of the fans
• 15:14
  cheering for his opponents when it shouldn't particularly be
• 15:19
  that way. But I mean, in the end, they did
• 15:23
  do the right thing of turning him kind of like a bad guy.
• 15:28
  Even the early days of him being like a bad guy feuding with Tony
• 15:31
  Wright did help massively. But then had his blow off match
• 15:37
  with Tony and then we've kind of not really seen him really.
• 15:43
  I think that was his last match in Future Chalk before this
• 15:51
  December because I remember, I remember when Jack interviewed
• 15:57
  Tony Jackass, like did Tony basically kick him out because
• 16:02
  he was Joe's last opponent? Jack asking the tough questions
• 16:09
  that no one else wants to ask. But yeah Romy won this contest
• 16:15
  with a 5 star frog splash. After the match Blazer kind of
• 16:22
  puts his hand out to Romy offering the the hand of
• 16:26
  sportsmanship. Romy shakes his hand but then
• 16:32
  Blazer being Blazer decides to just attack him from behind,
• 16:36
  wears him out with a chair and at that point we thought are we
• 16:43
  going to get a Freeman final because Romy did not look in
• 16:48
  good shape heading to the back. More on that later.
• 16:55
  The third qualifier saw Keenan Krishna against Danny Hope.

  Any takers on this one? I was really surprised by this
• 17:10
  match. I texted before the match
• 17:14
  started. Oh God, this one's going to be
• 17:18
  even slower than the last one because it's men who are even
• 17:22
  older than Keenan and Blazer Romy, not Keenan.
• 17:29
  I don't know why I got the names mixed up there.
• 17:31
  I would think I was reading it. You're.
• 17:33
  Tired, that's all. Yeah.
• 17:36
  And then they just started and it was I remember the first like
• 17:42
  sort of two minutes were just like a really quick back and
• 17:46
  forth where like they would just countering each other.
• 17:53
  And it was really technical. And I were thinking why the
• 17:56
  wrestling like, you know, the rent is due, Like I wouldn't
• 18:01
  expect them to go like that. And then it just it was able to
• 18:04
  keep up the rest of the match even when they slowed down with
• 18:08
  the earlier, you know, adrenaline from the beginning.
• 18:13
  So I think it was really like perfectly paced this match.
• 18:19
  I was going to say the Oberman Bentley match felt kind of they
• 18:25
  were feeling each other out. The second match was very even
• 18:31
  methodical if we want to go down that route slow, but I'll say
• 18:36
  methodical because it sounds better.
• 18:39
  And Krishna and Hope was almost the the prelude to what was the
• 18:46
  best qualifier that we saw, which is coming next.
• 18:51
  But I really enjoyed this one. Hope did a lot to make Keenan
• 19:00
  well since he came back. Well, this is his first one
• 19:04
  we're talking about, but he made Krishna look extremely kind of
• 19:11
  menacing. So when Hope had the advantage,
• 19:16
  he thought, oh, Danny's going to have this kind of comfortably.
• 19:22
  But then when Keenan changed and flipped it, he he played the the
• 19:28
  role of the villain extremely well.
• 19:33
  Even some of the kids looked scared of Keenan, which what you
• 19:38
  want really from a from a heel. But yeah, this was, I felt the
• 19:44
  third match was things going in an upward curve of the
• 19:49
  qualifying matches at least. What's your take on this Miles?
• 19:55
  I enjoyed this match. There was a lot of crowd
• 19:57
  interaction with this map but which I remember Danny Hope
• 20:00
  putting Keenan on my lap and then close to us and then giving
• 20:05
  him a big old shop. I enjoyed that.
• 20:08
  I love how Keenan just like kept going to our side of the ring
• 20:12
  literally all much longer. He's just that lay on the floor
• 20:15
  in front of us. Yeah, because because he kind of
• 20:21
  lay next to us and then he just decided I'm just going to stay
• 20:25
  here like he kind of did later on.
• 20:28
  So there's a spoiler for you. But yeah, I've made the point
• 20:34
  before. I hadn't seen Krishna before,
• 20:38
  but having seen. Him, yeah.
• 20:41
  So having seen him finally, so this is my first time seeing
• 20:47
  him, I can I I can see why he was like one of the the talks
• 20:58
  about ones at the time and I just thought his performance in
• 21:05
  this with Danny as well. I think they bounced off each
• 21:08
  other very well as well because Danny's very much like bubbly
• 21:14
  fan favourite. Keenan was like a cold
• 21:18
  calculated evil bastard which perfect for this personally.
• 21:29
  But to get to the end of it we we saw multiple reversals from
• 21:34
  both men. Keenan ended up getting the win
• 21:41
  and then after the match we had Danny Hope looking disconsolate
• 21:45
  in the ring, began to unlace his wrestling boots, so signalling
• 21:53
  that he was going to kind of retire and that was his final
• 21:57
  match. Joey Hayes came dashing in to
• 22:01
  stop him kind of saying what you doing?
• 22:04
  What you doing mate? You don't don't run into think
• 22:08
  about this before you do anything got the crowd like
• 22:11
  clapping him and trying to get Danny hope chance going and as
• 22:16
  they both went through the curtain Hope did not
• 22:21
  particularly look too happy. Obviously losing the tournament
• 22:27
  match. But that's not the the last time
• 22:32
  that we will be talking about those two men.
• 22:36

  And the final qualifying match, which I think we can all agree
• 22:43
  was the stand out of all four of these was dynamite.

  Lee Dawson taking on Briak Strong.

  Jesus Christ, this was a good match.

  They, they came from the opening bell to the end pretty much like
• 23:10
  2 bulls in in a China shop going at each other.

  There didn't seem to be any kind of like rest between anything
• 23:23
  that these two did. They just went full out and
• 23:25
  thought, you know what, we've seen the other three matches.

  We're going to have the match of the whole the entire show.

  And I think with this they probably did.

  Don't know if anyone wants to step in.

  Oh, Stephen, this match was incredible.

  Like it was the perfect mix of styles.

  Brioch being the big powerhouse and then Dynamite being like
• 23:53
  Dynamite to me is like a little Chihuahua, but he's got
• 23:58
  something about him. He's not critchy level

  Chihuahua, but he's just, he's got a little fight to him.

  He's like a little firecracker. I love Dynamite, he gave Briak
• 24:09
  everything he could offer. Like these two paired perfectly.

  Oh yeah, this. This was easily the match of the
• 24:19
  show Sam. Yeah, it was really entertaining
• 24:26
  and really all throughout. I actually got to speak with
• 24:30
  Briak at the end of the night. We was outside and he came out
• 24:35
  and we said, you know, Congrats on that match.

  That was, you know, match tonight.

  And he said the he knew they knew that they didn't have much
• 24:43
  of A storyline going like into it.

  So they just thought, we're going to give them like, you
• 24:48
  know, the best thing they can to get, you know, the crowd behind,

  you know, them and make it so that he because to them and to
• 25:01
  the crowd, this was the match that could go either way.

  You know, every other match they were kind of like, if you got
• 25:08
  your bucking head on, there was a particular person you'd think,
• 25:13
  Oh yeah, they'll probably win. So with them, they got the
• 25:16
  freedom to, you know, play with, you know, the crowd's
• 25:20
  expectations. Another fun thing is I was sat
• 25:24
  behind a couple of Dynamite Lee Dawson's mates and every 15
• 25:29
  seconds one of them just shouts like the.
• 25:32
  Fuse. And it's like the rake joke in
• 25:38
  The Simpsons. You know, Sasha Barbie steps on
• 25:40
  a rake. Well, like the first three times
• 25:43
  it's funny. Like the next few times it isn't
• 25:46
  funny. When it gets to about the 10th
• 25:48
  time, it becomes funny again. Yeah, we made the the point on
• 25:57
  Jack's podcast that this was the only match that we could not
• 26:01
  decide who was going to win. We we made a good case for both
• 26:05
  men advancing. But at the same time, having Lee
• 26:13
  go through does help him a lot. Because it seems like we're
• 26:17
  getting Dawson having like a comeback story in in recent
• 26:22
  Times Now, because we didn't see Dawson for a long while.
• 26:27
  And now after winning that kind of battle royal, we're seeing
• 26:33
  like Dawson not being pushed, but getting moved back into like
• 26:41
  the the title kind of like programme because he did a great
• 26:47
  job as the adrenaline champion. And I think for him really the
• 26:52
  the title is definitely kind of on his list.
• 26:59
  And should the time come where he is challenging and say he
• 27:03
  should win it, it would be interesting.
• 27:07
  But at the same time, let's let's not get too far ahead of
• 27:11
  ourselves. But it is great to see Lee doing
• 27:15
  extremely well again and not just appearing on the card for
• 27:20
  just because he's doing nothing. And we're saying, hey, we'll,
• 27:23
  we'll put Leon because we know he's we know he's a solid guy.
• 27:29
  Giving him something to sink his teeth into.
• 27:32
  It has been definitely something to look forward to and look
• 27:38
  forward to see what happens down the line for him.

  Strong. Oh, I'll say what happened at

  the end. Dynamite Lee wins, hitting his
• 27:51
  powder keg, DDT, advancing to the final, transitioning back to
• 28:00
  strong. I think that chair match with
• 28:04
  Bentley has helped broke massively.

  I think that could be his breakout match at Future Shock.
• 28:14
  Now I know some said the no holds bad match he had with Tony
• 28:20
  Wright last year was going to be the the breakout match for him.
• 28:26
  But I think normally ones that lose big matches normally have
• 28:33
  like better runs further down the the line and I think we're
• 28:38
  strong. You can go different places with
• 28:41
  him. So it's it's going to be
• 28:45
  interesting what we get with Brake in 2026.

  Could it be the the Year of the Hunter?

  Who knows? Just reading my notes and I've

  put much of the show which I think perfectly sums that up.

  We then should have had an Adrenaline title match between

  Tony Wright and Nay J. Did we actually get the bell

  ring for this match? No, we did not, did we?

  I know it went to a no contest. It went to a no contest, but I

  don't think we got the bells on because it would just have been

  like face off like Tony versus nay J.

  They would just like stood in the ring.

  I know we had I know we had to the announcement like the, you

  know, introducing Challenger and all that I because I I thought

  we did get the ballroom because him because then we they circle

  each other. So I remember Naj is in the far

  right corner and then once what happened, we'll get to in a

  second what happened on the screen, He's in the far left
• 30:16
  corner. He'd moved.

  So I thought they did a little of circling each other and then

  that happened. But my mind could be playing

  tricks on me. But you know, if someone wants

  to pay £4 to watch the show on Vimeo to see what happened.

  bell, but the same time we may not have heard it and you were

  then come out and had Serafin and Hayley Cooling come out with

  stole his victory from him. So the Horde came out and it was

  going to be free on to and then Dr Proctor came out to even

  things up. Nature, Nature, bless him, did

  not. I'm not going to say he didn't

  look happy because I don't think that was the reason.

  I think he was carrying an injury and that's why this was

  made. The six man tag, which made a

  lot, it made a lot of sense at the time.

  We were not happy, but it was the the right decision.

  That's why he picked up the injury because I watched his

  So I think he's picked up the injury from that match.

  He was in the ring with Liam McCarthy, so I'd say Liam

  probably injured him. Yeah.

  was long recessed, he could have got it falling down the stairs

  at Atomic in October, It could have just been invigorated by

  probably pissing himself slightly because they announced

  that the senior Future Shock official Liam James and ref Liam
