- 0:00Speaker 1: Tampa Bay's best music is Magiggic nine.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Well, this is something that has never been done, and
- 0:07Speaker 2: so what a better time to bring you like a
- 0:10Speaker 2: Magic ninety four nine no filter, real conversation as a
- 0:16Speaker 2: whole new chapter has begun. It's Scottie and it's not
- 0:21Speaker 2: just me that's gonna be chatting with you today. Sometimes
- 0:25Speaker 2: in life you gotta do a little soul searching. Sometimes
- 0:29Speaker 2: you gotta ask yourself, hmm, what else is out there?
- 0:34Speaker 2: What else could be done? Who could transform your life?
- 0:42Speaker 2: And so I'm actually joined in studio by one of
- 0:44Speaker 2: the best humans that if you're listening to this, half
- 0:48Speaker 2: of you are going to know, love, support, cheer on
- 0:51Speaker 2: the other half. Welcome to the new world of what
- 0:56Speaker 2: Magic ninety four nine looks like, the Tampa Bay area
- 0:58Speaker 2: looks like.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Welcome to this studio, Abby Murphy.
- 1:02Speaker 3: Think, Scott you've been. I'm the soul you've been searching for.
- 1:05Speaker 2: You have been And this is so exciting because what
- 1:07Speaker 2: I wanted to do is have a conversation on the
- 1:11Speaker 2: very first day. So if you're listening to this, I'm
- 1:15Speaker 2: just gonna pull the curtain back. It's February second, and
- 1:19Speaker 2: for the past couple months. What we've been trying to
- 1:23Speaker 2: do is make sure that the show that I'm bringing
- 1:26Speaker 2: here on Magic ninety four nine is as good as
- 1:28Speaker 2: it possibly could be. And one of the dreams that
- 1:31Speaker 2: I've always had is having a big show, and that
- 1:34Speaker 2: just means that it can't just be me. I've done
- 1:37Speaker 2: a solo show for a couple of years and it's
- 1:39Speaker 2: been awesome, but my dream has always been to have
- 1:43Speaker 2: it with someone who has a vision that is shared
- 1:46Speaker 2: with a talent that truly understands not only where we
- 1:50Speaker 2: are but where we're going. And Abby, you are that person.
- 1:54Speaker 2: You are one of the top talents in the country.
- 1:57Speaker 2: And as soon as we found out that you were
- 2:00Speaker 2: looking for a new radio home, I walked up into
- 2:03Speaker 2: our boss's office here and I said, if we don't
- 2:06Speaker 2: get Abby on our team, we are missing an opportunity
- 2:12Speaker 2: of a lifetime.
- 2:12Speaker 1: And I truly mean that.
- 2:13Speaker 2: I'm so honored, just from the bottom of my heart,
- 2:16Speaker 2: that you decided to make Tampa Bay your home, that
- 2:18Speaker 2: you've decided to take a leap of faith, because I'll
- 2:22Speaker 2: be honest, this is your first day in studio with me.
- 2:25Speaker 1: I'm a wacko, and you signed up for this I did.
- 2:29Speaker 3: When you were announcing me, I was like, oh my god,
- 2:31Speaker 3: I think he's about to tell me that I'm the
- 2:32Speaker 3: next American idol like that, that's what it feels like
- 2:35Speaker 3: right now. But no, I think it's so meant to
- 2:37Speaker 3: be because I felt the same way like you were
- 2:39Speaker 3: the first person I reached out to the second I
- 2:41Speaker 3: was allowed to say something because I'm coming from a
- 2:45Speaker 3: show in Atlanta that ended because my boss decided to
- 2:47Speaker 3: retire lame and I was literally like, oh my god,
- 2:52Speaker 3: I have to figure out who I want to talk
- 2:53Speaker 3: to for five hours a day for the next however long.
- 2:57Speaker 3: And so I was like, oh my god, Well, Scotty's
- 2:59Speaker 3: doing credible work in Tampa. So I literally sent you
- 3:01Speaker 3: a DM and I was like, Scotty, Scottie, let me
- 3:05Speaker 3: work with you. So I'm really excited to be here.
- 3:07Speaker 3: And I just love what you've been doing in Tampa
- 3:10Speaker 3: and just you've been killing it. So I can't wait
- 3:13Speaker 3: to mix some magic with you.
- 3:14Speaker 2: That's that's so exciting about this, As I feel like
- 3:17Speaker 2: you and I have had very similar trajectories in radio.
- 3:20Speaker 2: We're very close in age. We've come up you what.
- 3:24Speaker 1: You started in Jacksonville, is that correct?
- 3:26Speaker 3: Yeah, So same company. So we work for a company
- 3:28Speaker 3: called Cox Media Group. And so my first job postgrad
- 3:31Speaker 3: was CMG Jacksonville, and then I went to Atlanta for
- 3:34Speaker 3: a couple of years, and now I'm just back at CMG.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Let me ask you, though, why did you get into radio?
- 3:39Speaker 2: Because for me, I didn't want to get into radio
- 3:42Speaker 2: until radio was right into my face. Like when I
- 3:44Speaker 2: was in college, I was trying to be a physical
- 3:47Speaker 2: therapist and then maybe a exercise scientist and then a teacher,
- 3:51Speaker 2: and all those routes literally ended by a halt, like
- 3:54Speaker 2: I was failing.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Out of school. Until somebody was like.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Yo, you've been on stages, m seeing events, you always
- 4:01Speaker 2: like using your voice.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Why don't you check out radio?
- 4:03Speaker 2: And I was like radio, What the heck? They're like,
- 4:06Speaker 2: there's a radio station on campus. And I walked in
- 4:08Speaker 2: and it changed my life. I kid, you know, And
- 4:10Speaker 2: I walked in. It's kind of like the studio we
- 4:11Speaker 2: see here, the buttons and the speakers and the microphone.
- 4:13Speaker 2: And I was like, oh, that's it, uh huh, that's
- 4:16Speaker 2: what I want to do. And I chased that dream
- 4:18Speaker 2: down like a lion chasing out a gazelle. I was like,
- 4:20Speaker 2: I will do whatever it takes to get there. And
- 4:23Speaker 2: my whole story has been a crazy kid with a
- 4:26Speaker 2: dream that went in and worked on the promo team.
- 4:28Speaker 2: I set up tables and tents, and then I found
- 4:30Speaker 2: the show that actually wanted to listen to my ideas,
- 4:32Speaker 2: and I.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Became their producer.
- 4:34Speaker 2: And then when they left, I became the host, and
- 4:35Speaker 2: I struggled as a host, and then I grew my
- 4:37Speaker 2: talents to now having one of the biggest shows in
- 4:40Speaker 2: Tampa Bay.
- 4:40Speaker 1: And now it gets to be even bigger because you're here.
- 4:44Speaker 3: And it's crazy because our stories are so similar, Like
- 4:46Speaker 3: I was doing the same thing where I were both
- 4:49Speaker 3: gen z. So I don't think any of us were thinking, yeah,
- 4:51Speaker 3: radio is the true jectory that we're going to go
- 4:53Speaker 3: down to. I was in school to be a news anchor,
- 4:56Speaker 3: and so I was deciding between going into radio and
- 5:00Speaker 3: being a news anchor in Shreport, Louisiana because I had
- 5:03Speaker 3: been a part of my campus radio station because they
- 5:05Speaker 3: tricked me into joining it.
- 5:07Speaker 1: They will trick you.
- 5:08Speaker 3: So I was on the news track to be like
- 5:10Speaker 3: a reporter or a news anchor or whatever, because I
- 5:13Speaker 3: knew I was good at public speaking. I was a
- 5:15Speaker 3: competitive public speaker growing up, and so I was like, well,
- 5:17Speaker 3: I need to do something where I could talk. Yeah,
- 5:19Speaker 3: so I was like news, That's what I'll do is
- 5:21Speaker 3: I'll talk to people all day. So I ended up
- 5:23Speaker 3: joining this thing that they were calling GHQ and they
- 5:26Speaker 3: started it in twenty sixteen, which is bizarre. Who was
- 5:29Speaker 3: starting a radio show in twenty sixteen or a radio
- 5:31Speaker 3: station in twenty sixteen. So I was like, well, I
- 5:33Speaker 3: want to do BuzzFeed. I think that'd be really fun.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Long story short, wasn't BuzzFeed. It was a radio station.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Well got them.
- 5:39Speaker 3: So through a couple of like internships and professional introductions,
- 5:43Speaker 3: I showed up to CMG Jacksonville thinking I was just
- 5:47Speaker 3: going to network, but was also like I don't want
- 5:50Speaker 3: to move to Jacksonville, Jacksonville where I'm from. I was like,
- 5:52Speaker 3: I don't want to move home. I don't want to
- 5:53Speaker 3: work for a radio station. Like I'm I'm going to
- 5:55Speaker 3: be a news anchor, And long story short, they gave
- 5:58Speaker 3: me this job offer that I kind of couldn't refuse
- 6:00Speaker 3: because it was just better than all of the news
- 6:03Speaker 3: options I had, and I was like, well, I am
- 6:05Speaker 3: more creative. I do think it'd be more fun to
- 6:08Speaker 3: work in radio. So I guess this is just what's
- 6:11Speaker 3: supposed to happen, and long story short, ended up on
- 6:14Speaker 3: Aaron CMG. Jacksonville kind of went through a similar thing
- 6:17Speaker 3: before I went to Atlanta, because I was about to
- 6:20Speaker 3: I was gonna quit. I was either going to quit
- 6:22Speaker 3: radio or I was just going to buy a house
- 6:23Speaker 3: and stay there forever. Wow. I'd kind of felt like
- 6:25Speaker 3: my career was at a standstill, and so I moved
- 6:28Speaker 3: out of my apartment and was on a Facebook page
- 6:31Speaker 3: for women in radio and one of my former co
- 6:34Speaker 3: workers had posted the job that I just came from.
- 6:37Speaker 3: And I remember texting my mom because I just moved
- 6:39Speaker 3: into my parents' house and I was like, Hey, just
- 6:41Speaker 3: letting you know I'm not going to be at home
- 6:43Speaker 3: for much longer because I'm applying to jobs. I just
- 6:46Speaker 3: applied for this job in Atlanta. I'm really excited about.
- 6:49Speaker 3: I'm not going to get it, but like just letting
- 6:51Speaker 3: you know. And then the next day I got a
- 6:52Speaker 3: text with my former boss and the rest is history.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Now I'm here.
- 6:56Speaker 2: It's so cool because I remember seeing you make that
- 6:58Speaker 2: move and like some abvious somebody that I have followed
- 7:00Speaker 2: on social just because once she was in the company,
- 7:02Speaker 2: and two she's somebody that's very similar to who I am,
- 7:05Speaker 2: just ambitious, wants to go ahead and create this life
- 7:08Speaker 2: that you have dreamed of. And so as I watched
- 7:10Speaker 2: you make that move, I was so excited because I was.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Like, what a huge leap of faith.
- 7:15Speaker 2: And it takes courage to say, I'm gonna throw my
- 7:18Speaker 2: name in a hat, I'm gonna put everything on hold
- 7:21Speaker 2: and just let the universe do its mysterious things. And
- 7:25Speaker 2: of course, now we look back, of course it made sense.
- 7:29Speaker 2: You were always supposed to be there because of the
- 7:31Speaker 2: talent that you bring. And when I saw all the
- 7:34Speaker 2: things that you did up in Atlanta, everything made sense
- 7:37Speaker 2: because I was like, they know exactly how to make
- 7:40Speaker 2: a star shine, and you did.
- 7:42Speaker 1: How many years were you there?
- 7:43Speaker 3: I was there almost three years, so if I had
- 7:45Speaker 3: stayed until this month, it would have been exactly three years.
- 7:49Speaker 3: So the show ended about two and a half years
- 7:51Speaker 3: into my contract, so close to three years. And it
- 7:55Speaker 3: is crazy because like, I feel the same way about
- 7:57Speaker 3: you because what the people don't know and I don't
- 7:59Speaker 3: even know you remember this, but the way we became
- 8:02Speaker 3: mutuals on Social is. I had to guilt to you
- 8:05Speaker 3: into following me. I don't know if you remember this.
- 8:07Speaker 1: I don't remember this.
- 8:08Speaker 3: So CMG is the company we worked for, like I said,
- 8:11Speaker 3: and the show you were referencing earlier was like the
- 8:15Speaker 3: big show that everybody in the company wanted to work for.
- 8:18Speaker 3: And I remember I was trying to find a way
- 8:19Speaker 3: to get to Tampa because that's where the big show was,
- 8:22Speaker 3: and that's all I wanted to do was go on
- 8:24Speaker 3: a big show. Long story short, ended up in Atlanta
- 8:26Speaker 3: on a big show. But I was like, I want
- 8:29Speaker 3: them to really like me, because I want the big
- 8:31Speaker 3: show in the company to think I'm cool and like
- 8:33Speaker 3: just like them. And so I was. I was on
- 8:36Speaker 3: a morning shift kind of like what Scotty's been doing
- 8:39Speaker 3: on Magic Is, just like a solo shift or solo
- 8:42Speaker 3: show on a similar type of station. And I was
- 8:45Speaker 3: at the Caribe Royale in Orlando working with one of
- 8:49Speaker 3: your former co workers doing a remote there to like,
- 8:52Speaker 3: you know, sell the hotel or something. We're getting paid
- 8:55Speaker 3: to stay at this hotel in Orlando, and he called
- 8:59Speaker 3: into the Warning show and I remember being like the
- 9:04Speaker 3: two hosts followed me back, but Scotty, you didn't follow
- 9:07Speaker 3: me back, and Scotty's on air like, who are you?
- 9:10Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, is there was just.
- 9:12Speaker 3: A nobody from Jacksonville And I was like, Scotti, follow
- 9:14Speaker 3: me back, and then you did, and that's how we
- 9:16Speaker 3: became mutuals.
- 9:17Speaker 2: That is so funny because I am, I guess horrible
- 9:21Speaker 2: at following people back, because you're not the only one
- 9:23Speaker 2: that has said that. People have gone for years and
- 9:26Speaker 2: they're like, dude, why do you not like follow me?
- 9:29Speaker 2: I'm like, I had no idea, But now I see
- 9:32Speaker 2: all your stuff.
- 9:32Speaker 1: You're a social media queen.
- 9:35Speaker 2: You have taken over social media and have just run
- 9:38Speaker 2: with it in ways that I look at now, I'm like,
- 9:39Speaker 2: you're the inspiration behind so much of what I do
- 9:42Speaker 2: on mine.
- 9:43Speaker 1: I'm like, huh, how interesting.
- 9:45Speaker 2: And that's so fun I love having a step back
- 9:48Speaker 2: just a couple of years because in that setting, like
- 9:52Speaker 2: this was never even a thought.
- 9:53Speaker 1: It's crazy how to have this right now, we're in
- 9:57Speaker 1: a studio together.
- 9:58Speaker 2: All these little things had to have happened in order
- 10:02Speaker 2: to get us in this moment right now. Like I
- 10:04Speaker 2: had to go and struggle as a host and try
- 10:07Speaker 2: to find.
- 10:07Speaker 1: My own way in this industry.
- 10:09Speaker 2: You went off, became a star on a massive show,
- 10:12Speaker 2: and then unfortunately you couldn't plan for a show to retire.
- 10:17Speaker 2: But you also have had that courage all along to say,
- 10:20Speaker 2: you know what, just because one story closes doesn't mean
- 10:23Speaker 2: this book is done. This chapter continues into a whole
- 10:27Speaker 2: new level of one that right now. That's why I
- 10:29Speaker 2: like doing this recording right now, in this very moment,
- 10:32Speaker 2: because it's the very first day. And so what's exciting
- 10:35Speaker 2: is to think, well, what's going to be six months
- 10:37Speaker 2: down the line, a year down the line, to see
- 10:40Speaker 2: how much not only do we grow, but personally do
- 10:45Speaker 2: we grow in this world in this development, and all
- 10:47Speaker 2: the things that we can't even foresee yet are still
- 10:50Speaker 2: just waiting. And it's like I envisioned that a year
- 10:52Speaker 2: from now, a version of us that's like y'all don't
- 10:55Speaker 2: even have an idea of what you are in store for,
- 10:59Speaker 2: And for me, that is extremely exciting.
- 11:01Speaker 3: World domination obviously, or at least Tampa Bay domination.
- 11:05Speaker 2: I mean I drew it on a picture when I
- 11:07Speaker 2: was in college. I was like, first, it's gonna start
- 11:08Speaker 2: in Tampa. Then it's gonna be the US and then
- 11:10Speaker 2: it's gonna be the world. So you say world domination,
- 11:13Speaker 2: I say, absolutely, well, I stop there, sign me up.
- 11:16Speaker 2: So to give a little backstory, your family lives here now, correct, Yes.
- 11:20Speaker 3: So I think that's one of the reasons why Tampa
- 11:22Speaker 3: Bay made so much sense, obviously, because I was betting
- 11:24Speaker 3: on Scotty in the sense that you were the first
- 11:26Speaker 3: person I reached out to, and I was like, I
- 11:28Speaker 3: was like, I know I could work with Scotty, and
- 11:30Speaker 3: I love that we're in very similar phases in our
- 11:33Speaker 3: life because I just came from a show where everyone
- 11:35Speaker 3: was older than me. Not in like, oh they were
- 11:37Speaker 3: so old kind of way, but I kind of represented
- 11:40Speaker 3: this very specific demographic and had these co workers that
- 11:44Speaker 3: I would do a podcast with where I'm like, oh,
- 11:46Speaker 3: i feel like i can be a little bit more
- 11:47Speaker 3: myself because I'm around people my age and we have
- 11:50Speaker 3: similar references, and so I'm like, oh my god, Tampa
- 11:52Speaker 3: makes so much sense because I get to work with Scotty,
- 11:54Speaker 3: who's in a very similar phase of life is me,
- 11:56Speaker 3: and I have friends and family here, and I think
- 11:59Speaker 3: just a really difficult transition to Atlanta where I really
- 12:06Speaker 3: uprooted my life. I knew, knew, nobody had to figure
- 12:08Speaker 3: out how to talk on a bigger stage. I was
- 12:13Speaker 3: looking for something that just made sense and was like
- 12:15Speaker 3: a seamless transition. I was like, this just seems like
- 12:17Speaker 3: the right fit. Yeah. So yeah, everything is just kind
- 12:21Speaker 3: of coming to a head here and surrounded by friends
- 12:23Speaker 3: and family and people I haven't seen in a hot second.
- 12:25Speaker 3: So it's been nice.
- 12:26Speaker 1: At this point. How many days have you been in
- 12:29Speaker 1: Tampa Bay.
- 12:30Speaker 3: I got here in the middle of the night on Friday,
- 12:33Speaker 3: So one, two, three, going on four.
- 12:36Speaker 1: That's crazy. No, I give you so much credit, I
- 12:39Speaker 1: really do.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Anybody that decides I'm going to move to a new location,
- 12:41Speaker 2: you've done it multiple times now. Yes, it's very scary
- 12:45Speaker 2: to say I'm going to lift my life move it
- 12:48Speaker 2: to a new location. Yes, you do have some roots here,
- 12:51Speaker 2: but also at the same time, like you're going to
- 12:52Speaker 2: create your own life here, and that is very nerve
- 12:56Speaker 2: wracking for some people. And that is honestly a reason
- 12:58Speaker 2: why so many people, once they get comfortable in an area,
- 13:01Speaker 2: they're like, I already have my friends, I already have
- 13:03Speaker 2: my routine, I already had my career, Like why would
- 13:06Speaker 2: I move that for you? Obviously the career made sense,
- 13:11Speaker 2: but how is the emotional side of moving?
- 13:14Speaker 1: It's been three.
- 13:15Speaker 2: Days in a new area, Like where are you at
- 13:19Speaker 2: emotionally with that?
- 13:20Speaker 3: I've had so much time and by the time, I mean,
- 13:23Speaker 3: I've been unemployed for since November, really, and I was
- 13:27Speaker 3: really busy in the fall to where it was really
- 13:30Speaker 3: sad and I was kind of going through these waves
- 13:31Speaker 3: of motion of feeling like I kind of lost my
- 13:34Speaker 3: dream because like you, I've always wanted to do a
- 13:36Speaker 3: big show and I'd finally gotten there, and I'd work
- 13:38Speaker 3: so hard to get there that I was like, are
- 13:40Speaker 3: you kidding me? I did all this and now I
- 13:42Speaker 3: have to like leave again and start over. And I
- 13:45Speaker 3: go through phases where I'm like I was really sad
- 13:48Speaker 3: about it, and now I'm so like removed from it
- 13:50Speaker 3: that it's I have so much more focus on, Like
- 13:53Speaker 3: I'm I don't feel any I think I'm past like
- 13:57Speaker 3: the negative emotions, if that makes sense, Like I'm just
- 14:00Speaker 3: excited to build something again and feel like I have
- 14:03Speaker 3: a purpose. My brain was hat trophying for a good
- 14:08Speaker 3: bit and I was like, I can't be this person
- 14:12Speaker 3: any longer, Like I can't be the person that doesn't
- 14:14Speaker 3: go to work anymore, Like I need some kind of
- 14:17Speaker 3: goal to go after. So if anything, like the move
- 14:20Speaker 3: has been the easiest part, Like losing the job was
- 14:23Speaker 3: the hard part. Moving has been easy because it's something
- 14:26Speaker 3: tangible and it's something exciting.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Do you get nervous going into a new city of
- 14:32Speaker 2: making new friends or finding a new gym or going
- 14:34Speaker 2: to a new grocery store, because those are the things
- 14:36Speaker 2: I think of what I'm in right now. The chapter
- 14:38Speaker 2: of life is I just made a post about this
- 14:40Speaker 2: of like the solo journey, you know, I just got
- 14:43Speaker 2: out of a big relationship, and so now I'm like,
- 14:45Speaker 2: all right, Scott, It's time to like dive back in,
- 14:47Speaker 2: do some more soul surgeon and figure out what are
- 14:50Speaker 2: the things that I want? You know, And I have
- 14:52Speaker 2: so many great friends that have moved across the country,
- 14:55Speaker 2: and so I have a couple that live in the
- 14:57Speaker 2: area that are like super close that you could call
- 14:58Speaker 2: on any time, that you could hang out with. And
- 15:00Speaker 2: so it's the chapter of all right, time to expand
- 15:04Speaker 2: check out new places, go meet new people.
- 15:07Speaker 1: For you, is that more exciting or nervous? Like where
- 15:11Speaker 1: are you at?
- 15:12Speaker 3: I'm trying to think because Tampa's not super unfamiliar for me.
- 15:16Speaker 3: I think if I had moved to another city, I'd
- 15:18Speaker 3: be in a phase where I'm like, yeah, I can't
- 15:20Speaker 3: wait to explore and make new friends, Whereas Tampa is
- 15:23Speaker 3: a place I'm really familiar with. I already have restaurants
- 15:26Speaker 3: or coffee shops that I enjoy going to m and
- 15:29Speaker 3: so I'm excited. I'm excited less for like the the
- 15:33Speaker 3: expansion of my life and more of like, I'm really
- 15:35Speaker 3: thrilled to have a routine again.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Oh yeah, a routine, Oh gets me going out?
- 15:41Speaker 3: Like I am. I'm I'm excited about like the to
- 15:43Speaker 3: have a mundane life, if that makes sense, which I
- 15:46Speaker 3: know sounds so dumb, but like you know, when you
- 15:48Speaker 3: move to a new city and you you kind of
- 15:49Speaker 3: go through that phase where you're like, oh my god,
- 15:51Speaker 3: like I need to find all these Like for me,
- 15:53Speaker 3: I just want to find like a girl who does
- 15:55Speaker 3: my hair that is really comfortable with, and I just
- 15:58Speaker 3: want those creature comforts like I'm a tourist, Like I
- 16:01Speaker 3: want someone that I know can do my eyebrows really well. Yes,
- 16:04Speaker 3: I want a gym where I know the instructors that
- 16:06Speaker 3: I like So for me, I don't want to fast
- 16:10Speaker 3: forward three months. But for me, I'm more excited about
- 16:13Speaker 3: having a really boring Tuesday in April. I can't wait
- 16:18Speaker 3: to be bored out of my mind, but in a
- 16:21Speaker 3: safe way, not not I have nothing to do kind
- 16:23Speaker 3: of way.
- 16:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:23Speaker 2: No, I get that because as i've in the past month,
- 16:25Speaker 2: I've moved into a new location. And when you don't
- 16:29Speaker 2: have the routine, all you're craving is that I want
- 16:32Speaker 2: my things in the right order. I want to be
- 16:34Speaker 2: able to wake up and make breakfast because I was
- 16:37Speaker 2: able to go to the grocery store meal prep. I
- 16:39Speaker 2: want to make sure that I have my schedule lined
- 16:41Speaker 2: up for the week, so today I'm not just stressing
- 16:44Speaker 2: out of.
- 16:44Speaker 1: What's coming next. Those little things matter a whole lot.
- 16:48Speaker 1: And then when you get that.
- 16:49Speaker 2: You're like, Okay, now I cant explore and go check
- 16:51Speaker 2: out Tarbain Springs, Like have you been to Tarbin Springs?
- 16:53Speaker 3: I have? Where what is a tarpin?
- 16:55Speaker 1: See there's a spring in it too.
- 16:57Speaker 3: But what I find so cool about our phases of
- 16:59Speaker 3: life is we're both kind of in different phases of expansion,
- 17:03Speaker 3: if you will, Like our lives are about to look
- 17:04Speaker 3: different in a year.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:06Speaker 3: But what's cool about your journey is you did the
- 17:09Speaker 3: brave thing. Like I'm here because my boss retired, you
- 17:12Speaker 3: know what I mean, and like I had to make
- 17:13Speaker 3: that choice. I was sort of forced into that choice.
- 17:15Speaker 3: It takes a lot of courage and bravery to put
- 17:18Speaker 3: yourself in an uncomfortable position where you know things aren't
- 17:22Speaker 3: going to be familiar and you have to rebuild that
- 17:24Speaker 3: for yourself. So I'm excited to see what you're gonna
- 17:26Speaker 3: doing in six months.
- 17:27Speaker 1: I appreciate you.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Oh my goodness. We are just honestly soul searching myself.
- 17:33Speaker 2: And then we're gonna see where this whole dating world begins.
- 17:36Speaker 2: Because I have friends that are like and you're, oh,
- 17:38Speaker 2: I can't wait to talk about all this dating stuff
- 17:41Speaker 2: because you're on the apps.
- 17:42Speaker 3: Correct, I will say, So, here's my one thing is
- 17:44Speaker 3: the people that have followed me for a while and
- 17:47Speaker 3: know I've gone on some dates in Tampa. I really
- 17:51Speaker 3: trying not to target certain cities.
- 17:53Speaker 1: Oh gosh, you don't be coming from Tampa, Baker.
- 17:55Speaker 3: I'm going to show I try not to target certain
- 17:58Speaker 3: cities as like dating is so bad in Atlanta, or
- 18:02Speaker 3: dating is so bad in Savannah. I will say the
- 18:06Speaker 3: dating in Tampa for women who like men not great
- 18:12Speaker 3: based off of my experience.
- 18:13Speaker 2: See my brain goes to yet just wait because you
- 18:16Speaker 2: got the beautiful thing about this area, and if you're
- 18:19Speaker 2: from here, you know, like it's yes, Tampa is a
- 18:22Speaker 2: side of it, but then we got the amazing side.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Of Saint Pete.
- 18:26Speaker 2: You could go up a little bit and maybe go
- 18:28Speaker 2: check out Dnead in our Safety Harbor, Palm Harbor. Maybe
- 18:31Speaker 2: you want to go check out some date scenes in
- 18:33Speaker 2: West Chase or Wesley Chapel. Like the amount of option
- 18:39Speaker 2: that you have now, that's just beyond Tampa.
- 18:42Speaker 1: It's beautiful.
- 18:43Speaker 3: Bring me to Saint Pete for the love of God.
- 18:44Speaker 2: You get over that bridge, it's a whole new world,
- 18:47Speaker 2: is what it really is. Like that bridge, I don't
- 18:50Speaker 2: know what happens. It's like you go through a portal.
- 18:54Speaker 3: That's literally how it is. It's so different, Like I mean,
- 18:57Speaker 3: I can't believe that it's just one bridge. I mean
- 18:58Speaker 3: it's a big bridge. I drove that across High Bridge today,
- 19:02Speaker 3: but it really is a vortex whereas they're complete even
- 19:05Speaker 3: though they're the Tampa Bay area so different culturally.
- 19:09Speaker 2: That's why I love about this areas because I grew
- 19:11Speaker 2: I grew up across the state over in Viero Beach, Florida,
- 19:13Speaker 2: And when I moved to Tampa, I was like, whoa
- 19:15Speaker 2: big city living? And then I was like, wait a second,
- 19:18Speaker 2: let me go check out Saint Pete. I'm like, oh wow,
- 19:20Speaker 2: chill city living.
- 19:21Speaker 1: This is dope.
- 19:22Speaker 2: And then there's all these little suburbs that you get
- 19:24Speaker 2: to check out that you fallen in love with, that
- 19:26Speaker 2: become the gems. Yeah, and those are the parts that
- 19:29Speaker 2: you get to explore and you find your roots in.
- 19:31Speaker 2: And I can't wait to see what you think about
- 19:33Speaker 2: all these different areas that you're gonna see. But what
- 19:35Speaker 2: I wanted to really bring is just one. It's the
- 19:38Speaker 2: first day. This is your first day in the studio.
- 19:40Speaker 2: First off, how do you feel?
- 19:41Speaker 1: First day?
- 19:41Speaker 3: First day? Best day? I'm feeling very caffelated. I got
- 19:44Speaker 3: here super early, so I went to the Dunkin Donuts
- 19:46Speaker 3: across the street. Yeah, and I was like, I typically
- 19:49Speaker 3: don't drink this much coffee, but I think the day's
- 19:53Speaker 3: to chug some.
- 19:53Speaker 2: Today's going to be a chuck in one because obviously
- 19:56Speaker 2: with the new job, you've got to meet everybody. That's
- 19:58Speaker 2: where we're about to go do literally five minutes, we're
- 20:01Speaker 2: about to go stretch you out, Welcome Abby to CMG Tampa,
- 20:07Speaker 2: and everyone's gonna be so excited. They want to get
- 20:09Speaker 2: to know you. They're gonna want to have conversations with you,
- 20:11Speaker 2: find out your interests, and it's going to be a
- 20:13Speaker 2: lot of shaking hands and kissing babies, a lot.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Of small talk, a lot of small talk.
- 20:17Speaker 3: I'm ready for it, though.
- 20:19Speaker 1: Honestly, I think you're gonna love it.
- 20:20Speaker 3: I'm ready for someone to send me an email and say,
- 20:22Speaker 3: can you get this done by eod? Oh?
- 20:24Speaker 1: Ah, you ready for a deadline?
- 20:27Speaker 3: Oh?
- 20:27Speaker 2: We got some deadlines coming. So this is gonna be exciting.
- 20:29Speaker 2: It's the whole new chapter. It's day one, and as
- 20:32Speaker 2: we continue to go down this journey, more and more
- 20:35Speaker 2: stories will be able to be brought. And this is
- 20:38Speaker 2: the place that we get to just completely openly share
- 20:42Speaker 2: the realness of this part because these are the things
- 20:45Speaker 2: in life that you only get to talk to with
- 20:47Speaker 2: your close friends. And I want this to be the
- 20:49Speaker 2: feel of it. This is like, oh, the real emotional
- 20:51Speaker 2: side the radio. It's gonna be bright it's gonna be fun,
- 20:53Speaker 2: it's gonna be adventurous. And then this side of it,
- 20:56Speaker 2: it's like, let's dive into the intricacies of a new
- 21:01Speaker 2: chapter of life.
- 21:02Speaker 1: I can be intricate you ready for it? Ready day one,
- 21:05Speaker 1: Here we go.
