- 0:07Speaker 1: Andrew comes to us from Larsen Home Services. The website
- 0:10Speaker 1: larsenome Services dot com. That's L A R S O
- 0:15Speaker 1: N Home Services dot Com. Telephone number six oh eight
- 0:18Speaker 1: five three five forty three forty three. That's five three
- 0:21Speaker 1: five four three four three. Andrew, how you doing this week?
- 0:26Speaker 2: Am I ever doing bad? No?
- 0:27Speaker 1: I don't think so.
- 0:29Speaker 2: No, No, No, it was good. You're good.
- 0:31Speaker 1: You're doing good or better it seems you know what
- 0:33Speaker 1: I'm saying. Or you're either doing good or you're on
- 0:36Speaker 1: vacation and doing better. I think that's that's the best.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Look Saturday. Oh nice Saturday.
- 0:44Speaker 1: I have to compare notes and see what you're going
- 0:47Speaker 1: to be up to. Uh, we've got we've got an
- 0:49Speaker 1: important uh conversation ahead in something really cool that you
- 0:53Speaker 1: guys are able to do at Larson Home Services for
- 0:56Speaker 1: folks that that may have some issues. Uh, Andrew, you
- 1:00Speaker 1: have actually put together rapid response with larg storme Services.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Let's talk a little bit about what that is and
- 1:07Speaker 1: what it's really for. What's it used for?
- 1:10Speaker 2: Well, you know, I'll give you a little backstory on it,
- 1:13Speaker 2: and I think it goes really in line with our
- 1:17Speaker 2: restore program. And now what I talked about last week,
- 1:20Speaker 2: our go Nano is us always we're always trying to
- 1:24Speaker 2: do what's best for our customer, offer the services that
- 1:28Speaker 2: customers need and for so long. Obviously we've been doing
- 1:31Speaker 2: this for a long time. And you know, when we
- 1:32Speaker 2: started doing this, we were ninety percent a gutter company. Yep, right,
- 1:36Speaker 2: that's what we did. We did gutters and through customers asking,
- 1:40Speaker 2: I mean it was asking all the time, and I
- 1:42Speaker 2: was referring out other roofers. But I did roofing in
- 1:46Speaker 2: the Twin Cities. I just never planned on doing it
- 1:48Speaker 2: down here. We started doing roofing and we teamed up
- 1:52Speaker 2: with GAF and in my mind, I feel we joined
- 1:57Speaker 2: forces with probably the best roofing crew in the state
- 2:00Speaker 2: of Wisconsin. They're amazing people. They've become like family to me.
- 2:05Speaker 2: So we start roofing and then I realized one day,
- 2:08Speaker 2: you know, we're the number two The number two offender
- 2:12Speaker 2: for landfills in the country is asphalt shingles. So the
- 2:19Speaker 2: more I think about it, I feel like we've got
- 2:21Speaker 2: this like throwaway culture. You know, a roof is good
- 2:24Speaker 2: for twelve to fifteen years. That's what everybody hears. And
- 2:26Speaker 2: you tear it off and you throw it away, which
- 2:28Speaker 2: I think is absolutely ridiculous. I've traveled to some other countries,
- 2:33Speaker 2: and what do I do when I go anywhere. I
- 2:35Speaker 2: look at roofs and I look at gutters. You know,
- 2:38Speaker 2: That's what I do, you know. And a few years
- 2:40Speaker 2: ago I was over in London. I went over there
- 2:42Speaker 2: to watch the Packers play and it was phenomenal. And
- 2:44Speaker 2: of course I'm looking at structures and architecture and roofing,
- 2:48Speaker 2: and what I noticed was there is not an asphalt
- 2:51Speaker 2: roof anywhere to be seen. It doesn't exist. They don't
- 2:55Speaker 2: put those roofs on. They use products at last literally forever,
- 3:01Speaker 2: but they need maintenance. I saw clay tiles, I saw
- 3:04Speaker 2: slate steel, things that last a lot longer. And so
- 3:08Speaker 2: I'm always, okay, what can we do. That's why we
- 3:10Speaker 2: offer a lot of class for impact rated shingles because
- 3:13Speaker 2: one of the things that quote unquote impacts the aging
- 3:18Speaker 2: of shingles is hail and weather. So why not use
- 3:21Speaker 2: a better shingle, something that's made to last for the
- 3:25Speaker 2: weather that we have and now insurance companies are catching
- 3:27Speaker 2: up and going, you know what, we need to start
- 3:30Speaker 2: using shingles like this because we're sick of replacing everybody's
- 3:33Speaker 2: roofs every few years from hail so which led us
- 3:37Speaker 2: to our restore program where we're going to these roofs
- 3:39Speaker 2: that have weeks on them, and all ninety nine percent
- 3:43Speaker 2: of every roofer in the country would just tear that
- 3:45Speaker 2: roof off, throw it away, put a new one on.
- 3:47Speaker 2: We don't need to do that. It's not what's best
- 3:49Speaker 2: for the environment, it's not what's best for the homeowner.
- 3:51Speaker 2: We can restore your room with a few quick fixes,
- 3:54Speaker 2: maybe some flashing, some pipe boots, a chimney, a chimney reflash,
- 3:58Speaker 2: a chimney cricket. You know, it's spending a few thousand
- 4:01Speaker 2: dollars instead of fifteen twenty thirty thousand dollars. We can
- 4:04Speaker 2: extend the life of that roof. Now with go Nano.
- 4:08Speaker 2: We go to that same roof and there's a little
- 4:10Speaker 2: bit of wear on it, it's fading, doesn't look the best,
- 4:13Speaker 2: it's starting to show its age. We can actually restore
- 4:17Speaker 2: that roof and revive that roof with Gonano. Now, keeping
- 4:20Speaker 2: that roof out of a landfill, and now a homeowner
- 4:23Speaker 2: is spending maybe three four five thousand dollars to restore
- 4:26Speaker 2: and revive it, but getting years more of life to it.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Then we come to homeowners calling during a rain. I
- 4:34Speaker 2: have a leak. I don't know what to do. Unfortunately,
- 4:37Speaker 2: we're usually pretty busy with estimates, so you might have
- 4:41Speaker 2: to wait a few days. Well, that doesn't do anybody
- 4:43Speaker 2: any good if they got water coming into their house.
- 4:45Speaker 2: I've had that happen before. It is a helpless feeling
- 4:49Speaker 2: because while you might catch the water coming through the
- 4:51Speaker 2: ceiling or through the vent or wherever it's coming through,
- 4:54Speaker 2: what is it doing on the parts of your house
- 4:56Speaker 2: that you can't see. In attic insulation creates, all kinds
- 5:01Speaker 2: of stuff can happen. So we've created the rapid Response
- 5:04Speaker 2: Team where we do our best to always have somebody
- 5:10Speaker 2: Monday through Friday, Saturday, sometimes Sunday on call, so if
- 5:15Speaker 2: you have a week, we can get out there. Now,
- 5:16Speaker 2: this isn't a permanent, fixed type of situation. This is
- 5:20Speaker 2: what I would like to call an educated band aid,
- 5:23Speaker 2: if that makes sense. I've literally just made that band aid,
- 5:29Speaker 2: by which it is not permanent it is not going
- 5:32Speaker 2: to fix their problem forever. It is educated because we
- 5:35Speaker 2: know we find the leak, we identify the leak, and
- 5:38Speaker 2: we use different things tarps, steel flashing, maybe a new
- 5:43Speaker 2: pipe things to quickly fix that leaks. We can stop it,
- 5:47Speaker 2: and then we set an appointment to actually have one
- 5:49Speaker 2: of our estimators come out and really diagnose what's wrong.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Is it a restore issue? Is it time for a
- 5:56Speaker 2: new roof issue? So basically we band aid that so
- 5:59Speaker 2: people can have peace of mind, sleep while at night,
- 6:02Speaker 2: and then we come out and then you know, we
- 6:04Speaker 2: give a price on what it's going to cost to
- 6:06Speaker 2: actually really fix that that moving forward, we have people
- 6:09Speaker 2: call and say, hey, you know, the last time it rained,
- 6:11Speaker 2: we got a leak. We thought we fixed it, not
- 6:14Speaker 2: sure if we did, but we know it's going to
- 6:15Speaker 2: rain again today. So really what made me think of
- 6:18Speaker 2: this is we've got some weather coming. Yes we do,
- 6:20Speaker 2: and so we can get out there and actually try
- 6:23Speaker 2: to do some water testing and find where that leak
- 6:26Speaker 2: is before more rain comes, and again band aid that
- 6:29Speaker 2: or education education band data. We find that leak, we
- 6:34Speaker 2: fix it temporarily until we can more permanently fix that.
- 6:38Speaker 2: So for us. It's always an evolution of trying to
- 6:41Speaker 2: do what's best for the homeowners and what's best, I mean, honestly,
- 6:44Speaker 2: what's best for the environment. I look at all of
- 6:47Speaker 2: the shingles, they get torn off of roofs and they
- 6:49Speaker 2: just get thrown into a landfill, and that's just the
- 6:51Speaker 2: way it is, and I don't think that it needs
- 6:53Speaker 2: to be that way. We talk about F wave shingles. Yes,
- 6:58Speaker 2: I put them on my house, Sean, I really don't
- 7:02Speaker 2: know what can go wrong with you. And I'm being
- 7:04Speaker 2: completely honest, And people are like, what's the warranty, Well,
- 7:06Speaker 2: you know the warrant, the actual written warranty is not
- 7:09Speaker 2: as long as a GAF show. Well GAF is a
- 7:11Speaker 2: much bigger company, been around a lot longer. But I
- 7:14Speaker 2: watch these shingles, look I look at my roof almost
- 7:17Speaker 2: every day, and I don't know what can go wrong
- 7:20Speaker 2: with them. They're made to last, and they're made to
- 7:22Speaker 2: last longer. They just are. Yes, they're more expensive, but
- 7:25Speaker 2: it's not a throwaway product. Andrew.
- 7:28Speaker 1: One of the things too, is I know last week
- 7:30Speaker 1: you unveiled the Gonano and of course partnering with Larsenome Services,
- 7:35Speaker 1: and what's out there. I had a chance to kind
- 7:37Speaker 1: of read up a bit more on gonano and what
- 7:40Speaker 1: a really amazing product it is. And I think of
- 7:42Speaker 1: like for folks with you've got that, you got that
- 7:45Speaker 1: roof and you want to get a few years out
- 7:47Speaker 1: of it. You know, there's there's other products out there,
- 7:50Speaker 1: and I'm kind of looking at how they work, and
- 7:51Speaker 1: they kind of just put a coating over the top
- 7:54Speaker 1: and you know, it's basically like just kind of fit
- 7:56Speaker 1: crossing your fingers and hoping that that covers it. This
- 7:59Speaker 1: go nano stuff, it like gets into the shingles and actually,
- 8:02Speaker 1: as you talk about, does that restoring of the shingle?
- 8:05Speaker 1: And I thought, what a cool concept. Then obviously there's
- 8:08Speaker 1: a ton of science and really smart people that came
- 8:10Speaker 1: up with this with this product, but it's otter than you.
- 8:13Speaker 1: And yeah, I was like on the website and they
- 8:16Speaker 1: kind of dumb it down. I'm like, that's brilliant. And
- 8:18Speaker 1: then the thing is like it's brilliant, but how did
- 8:21Speaker 1: they come up with it? And so it's it is.
- 8:23Speaker 1: It is a really really cool product. And I've got
- 8:25Speaker 1: to guess, Andrew, a lot of folks are are are
- 8:28Speaker 1: calling large home service whether it's uh, you know, whether
- 8:31Speaker 1: it's the rapid response team or looking to get that
- 8:34Speaker 1: roof restored with the go nano and getting that getting
- 8:37Speaker 1: those years out of their roof. It's got to be
- 8:39Speaker 1: a really popular option for folks right now, isn't it.
- 8:42Speaker 2: So Obviously we just started talking about it and we're
- 8:44Speaker 2: already getting calls and I look, we don't have a
- 8:48Speaker 2: ton of stuff on our website yet about it because
- 8:50Speaker 2: it is so new to us anyway, but if you
- 8:54Speaker 2: go on go nao dot com, like some of the
- 8:56Speaker 2: videos are so awesome, I mean there's a there's so
- 8:59Speaker 2: First of all, there's a problem for brand new roofs,
- 9:01Speaker 2: like you can put a brand new roof on and
- 9:02Speaker 2: we can put this on it, in it, in it.
- 9:05Speaker 2: Like again I said last time, I didn't make this
- 9:07Speaker 2: stuff up, but it changes the molecular makeup of the
- 9:11Speaker 2: asphalt shingle from a nanoparticle level. Cannot be seen with
- 9:15Speaker 2: the naked eye, but I can tell you this, if
- 9:18Speaker 2: you watch the videos of the before and after, it's
- 9:20Speaker 2: almost like rainx for your roof. Yeah, that makes sense
- 9:25Speaker 2: if if anybody's ever put rainx on their windshield and
- 9:28Speaker 2: it starts raining and you're driving the water just like
- 9:30Speaker 2: beads and flies off your your windshield. This is what
- 9:34Speaker 2: it does for your roof. It is almost water proofs
- 9:37Speaker 2: your roof while making it more elastic, which helps it
- 9:41Speaker 2: with hail. There's a video on there that shows them
- 9:45Speaker 2: up close shooting a non treated shingle with a hail
- 9:49Speaker 2: at two hundred miles an hour and then shooting a
- 9:52Speaker 2: go Nano treated shingle with hail at two hundred miles
- 9:56Speaker 2: an hour. Obviously the regular shingle, it broke the mass
- 10:00Speaker 2: and they looked at it under a microscope. You could
- 10:02Speaker 2: obviously see the hail hit and all you see is
- 10:05Speaker 2: fiberglass and a crack like it broke the shingle. It
- 10:10Speaker 2: dented the Go Nano shingle, but it didn't break anything.
- 10:13Speaker 2: There was no granular loss, so that would be that
- 10:16Speaker 2: would heal itself with heat. So you just got kit
- 10:18Speaker 2: with hail and it didn't affect it, so it makes
- 10:21Speaker 2: it more elastic. Then we've got our revive product that
- 10:24Speaker 2: is meant for those roofs that are like in that
- 10:27Speaker 2: six to maybe fifteen year range, depending on how well
- 10:30Speaker 2: your roof is war We can then revive it bringing
- 10:33Speaker 2: color back to it with the butt, with the oils
- 10:35Speaker 2: that are in it moisturize it, and then with the
- 10:37Speaker 2: nanotechnology it water proofs it. And you don't you see
- 10:41Speaker 2: in the video dumps water on it. It just beads
- 10:43Speaker 2: off the flight. It has no opportunity to get into
- 10:46Speaker 2: your roof. So it's it's super exciting. I cannot wait
- 10:53Speaker 2: to start installing it on people's houses. We're going to
- 10:55Speaker 2: probably be doing it on my father's place in the
- 10:57Speaker 2: coming weeks and doing a cool video and do some
- 11:00Speaker 2: before and after. But yeah, it's exciting again, just trying
- 11:03Speaker 2: to do what's best for everybody.
- 11:04Speaker 1: One thing I know about Greg is he he doesn't
- 11:06Speaker 1: mess around with stuff and if he's gonna put it
- 11:09Speaker 1: on his is.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Definitely well, don't get me wrong, We're just gonna do
- 11:12Speaker 2: it for free.
- 11:15Speaker 1: He likes the pricing as well.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Yeah.
