Latest / Brandon Fogal Evolution / #30 - Election Night 2024: A Nation on the Edge
Transcript
- 0:00All right we are going it is election night
- 0:032024 and it is
- 0:06about midnight eastern time almost midnight
- 0:10central time looks like there's an update right now happening at
- 0:13the harris headquarters cedric richmond
- 0:17harris waltz campaign co-chair i don't know if
- 0:20it's if they are addressing whether
- 0:23the it because right now it looks like trump is
- 0:26in the lead there has not been a declared winner right
- 0:29now trump at is at depending on which network
- 0:32you're listening or watching he is at 232 electoral
- 0:37votes and harris is at 216 there's
- 0:41still a number of battleground states that have yet to be finalized and declared
- 0:47the winner such as the main one pennsylvania that is going to be if if trump
- 0:52takes pennsylvania it is it is over and there's also georgia arizona Nevada.
- 0:58A couple other ones as well.
- 1:00But right now it is not looking too good for the Harris campaign right now.
- 1:04It is actually kind of been kind of a somber, slow night.
- 1:09And I don't know if it's just, it seems like it's just been slow developing,
- 1:14nothing just, I think 2016, everyone was caught off guard and not ready at all for Trump.
- 1:21Did not even see that coming. So there was a lot more movement
- 1:25happening there was a lot more unexpected events that
- 1:28unfolded right now it's just slow methodically
- 1:32churning and state by state harris has been kind of taking the ones that were
- 1:38expected close call was virginia but other than that mainly trump has been taking
- 1:45all the key key states that he's needed so far i don't think there's been one
- 1:50crucial loss that he's had,
- 1:52And he took Florida pretty quickly at the beginning of the night.
- 1:56And right now, if he can just finish off and take Pennsylvania, it would be over.
- 2:01A lot of the networks are really holding off because it's like with Wisconsin,
- 2:06Michigan, and Pennsylvania, they are like very slim margins.
- 2:11Trump has the slight edge in all of them, it looks like.
- 2:15Just based on impressions from the networks and the different sides.
- 2:21It is looking a lot more like Trump is going to win, but until it's all said and done, it's not over.
- 2:29Anything could happen. Definitely anything could happen. From my point of view,
- 2:33it's definitely been a lot more somber of a night, not a lot of celebration happening.
- 2:40And I think if it was, if Harris was in the lead, I think we would be seeing a lot more celebration.
- 2:46And I mean, really, when we got, when we came to this, this evening,
- 2:49I don't think anyone knew what to expect.
- 2:51I think from both sides, there was anxiety and there was just completely,
- 2:57we were stepping into the unknown.
- 2:59And we are in the unknown right now because it's still not completely decided.
- 3:04But we are definitely getting closer by the minute.
- 3:08But based on just impressions from both camps, Harris' campaign is looking like
- 3:14they're wanting to close up shop,
- 3:15telling their supporters at the headquarters, go home for the evening.
- 3:20We will find out in the morning what happens.
- 3:23And that is not a good sign. That sounds a lot more like the 2016 when Hillary
- 3:28conceded, kind of did not show up for her supporters because it did not look
- 3:34like she was going to win.
- 3:35Vincent Podesta out there, and then he just kind of gave the news of just kind
- 3:40of everyone go home, kind of we'll find out what's going on.
- 3:43And then a couple hours later, about two in the morning, we found out that Trump
- 3:47was declared the winner.
- 3:49Right now, it is Trump is taking a little bit more of a lead. He's at 248.
- 3:55So that 270 is that magic number if whoever can get there first.
- 4:00Overall, it is definitely looking like Trump is going to take the victory.
- 4:03But anything could happen anything could
- 4:06happen georgia has just been decided just
- 4:09called for president trump and i mean that is a very slim margin very slim margin
- 4:16i mean looks like a million more i'm not a million more a hundred thousand more
- 4:20that he won by but it's still not fully in but it's just enough that the people
- 4:25running the numbers can make the call and say based on.
- 4:29Everything else that's expected to come in, it's worth calling.
- 4:33It does not seem at all likely, almost nearly impossible, that Kamala Harris
- 4:39could make up that ground. So Georgia has been just called.
- 4:43So the big one hanging out there is definitely Pennsylvania.
- 4:46Pennsylvania is the, that's the one.
- 4:49But definitely, it's definitely been a lot more somber night than I've expected it would be.
- 4:55And I just I think I sent this
- 4:58out I tweeted this out earlier let's not anybody be sore
- 5:01losers and let's not anybody be sore
- 5:04winners as well and I mean I honestly I do not see that happening I think people
- 5:11are going to be sore winners and I don't I don't like that we don't need anybody
- 5:14rubbing it in anybody's face again we are all Americans it does not matter whether you are blue or red.
- 5:22I think it was Moreno, one of the senators that won, I don't know if it was Ohio,
- 5:28but he said a really awesome line that when he, when he took the,
- 5:32his, when he won, he said, it's not about blue or red, but it's about the red, white, and blue.
- 5:38We are all Americans. And so it's.
- 5:42I just we need to just we need to just completely obliterate this two party system.
- 5:49I guess you'd call it three party based on independent, you know,
- 5:52but it's like I said we all just merge to independence.
- 5:55We are let's all merge to independence. You know, let's not have the Republican, have the Democrat.
- 6:01I don't know why we started this, why we started our nation on Republican and Democrat.
- 6:07And just like, let's just pit our country against each other.
- 6:10What i do not understand that at all i do not i
- 6:13mean i understand it but it's it's not going to be
- 6:16overall good for our nation you know it's like let's
- 6:19have one nation and bring ideas to
- 6:22the party whoever has the best ideas let that reign let
- 6:25that win and let's not just we're not
- 6:28on one team against another but we
- 6:31are one team and just let the best ideas win
- 6:34and let the the people that run the run things
- 6:37the best let them win you know and get into politics it
- 6:40should be reluctant it shouldn't be something that somebody
- 6:43desires and loves and wants all their heart to
- 6:46get into as americans more than likely it's better to almost
- 6:49get out there and produce and create businesses create create wealth for for
- 6:55people and for the citizens of this country and almost politics should almost
- 7:00be on the on in the background of your mind it should not be something that
- 7:05you just want to get into so much because, I mean.
- 7:09It's a service that you provide.
- 7:11You know, it's a service that you almost have to have a reluctance to get into
- 7:15because if you want to get in there, it just almost becomes just a money-hungry
- 7:20crave for power, and that's not going to be good for anyone.
- 7:23That's not going to be good for the people that are doing it because it's just
- 7:27corruption, just corruption.
- 7:29Builds upon corruption and people just want to get more and more power and just
- 7:34they just want to make themselves big to make their own name big and make their
- 7:38own reach big and how they can influence and affect others lives as opposed
- 7:43to just getting in there and doing it for,
- 7:47this country doing it for this people you
- 7:49know i just that's what it should be it should be
- 7:52doing it how are we going to get this country up
- 7:55and running get this country just dominant in this world because I mean when
- 7:59we're dominant when America is dominant the rest of the world just flourishes
- 8:05the rest of the world is going to be in a lot better position and we're not
- 8:08just going to be doing it we're not going to be just letting other countries just take over and just.
- 8:14Not be the best that they could because I mean we make
- 8:17others better and it's like when anyone's in
- 8:20crisis when anything's bad happening people call out
- 8:23to the United States and I think the only reason they're able to do
- 8:26that is because of who we are and the
- 8:28good nation that we are i know there's a lot of flaws definitely a lot of flaws
- 8:33we can't just whitewash that and just throw that under the rug and all that
- 8:37you know but it's it's so we the america is going to i have a lot of hope for
- 8:43this nation i mean i there's a lot of uncertainty and still like anything could happen.
- 8:48But trump looking like he's going to win the republicans
- 8:51taking a lot of the majority and a lot of the house.
- 8:54And senate they've taken the senate they're going to
- 8:57have that majority there so it's just so we're not in gridlock
- 9:00if trump does assume the office
- 9:03but uh it's it's looking good
- 9:06for the republicans but again let's not
- 9:10be blue against red it's just like we don't
- 9:13need to have that it's not going to be good for us it's not going to
- 9:15be good for the rest of the world if we're at
- 9:18each other's throats i think who's who
- 9:21can get in there and just actually make this country great
- 9:25help everyone is going to be the most effective
- 9:28presidency and it's yet to be determined there's still
- 9:31a lot of things that could happen but it's looking like it's
- 9:34going to go to president trump i know in 2016 it didn't
- 9:37happen till the middle of the night that it was called 2020 there
- 9:41was it was just it looked like biden was going
- 9:43to win going into the evening and then i
- 9:47think it wasn't called to that following saturday when biden was
- 9:50determined to be the president but this this
- 9:53i thought this was going to drag out it's looking more and
- 9:56more like trump is going to be able to secure the nomination before
- 10:00the evening's over but like i said anything could
- 10:03happen i i want them to just just call it as opposed to letting it drag out
- 10:09and letting it the heat turn up more than it should there's a there's things
- 10:14that need to get going need to get moving and not to just spend time on having
- 10:19the temperature in the room go up you know it's.
- 10:22I think. But either way, whoever comes out winning, it does look like Trump's going to be it.
- 10:28But whoever comes out winning, whether it's Kamala, Kamala, Kamala,
- 10:33that is the correct way I found out. That is how you say her name.
- 10:37Kamala, whether it's her or Trump, either one.
- 10:40Let's all come together as Americans. Let's be together and united in making
- 10:46this nation great and helping others, lifting each other up and just bringing wealth to this.
- 10:52Nation and because if we are if we are running on
- 10:55all cylinders we are going to be helping others we're the
- 10:58only nation that's going to that's going to be able to do
- 11:01that you know and that's why everyone else in this
- 11:03world cries out to the united states when a crisis happens
- 11:06because we are the ones that step up to the plate i think
- 11:10it's going to be good i think it's going to be good i i have a
- 11:13i think as a lot of other people had a lot of anxiety going into
- 11:15this i think if we if if it gets settled
- 11:18you know we're able to just like i
- 11:22mean i was immediately thinking like all the people that said they were going
- 11:24to leave the country and i just leave the country
- 11:27if trump wins and it's just like i don't want people
- 11:30saying hey you're going to leave the country you're going to leave the country and let's call
- 11:33people out like let's be you know
- 11:36adults let's you know let's come together definitely
- 11:39come together just that that same message but with
- 11:43action behind it that same message that biden had
- 11:46when he became president i mean let's let's have
- 11:49that message but let's do it in a way that's actually
- 11:52it to take on flesh and to
- 11:56be real life and not just words not just talk not just spitting into the air
- 12:02saying things that mean nothing let's have like true lasting results and i think
- 12:09i think we can do that you know but uh it's getting closer and closer.
- 12:13I'm ready for it just to be called.
- 12:16I was talking about this earlier. I don't understand why,
- 12:20It seems like we knew that the tough battleground states, we knew the ones that
- 12:24were going to be the toughest and the most impactful on which whoever wins,
- 12:29we're going to have the most impact on this election.
- 12:32And it seems like they are the ones that drag their feet the most.
- 12:36And I don't know what it is about them.
- 12:38I mean, Florida, like, was called in a second, you know, was able to go through
- 12:43and they were able to count the votes, get it done.
- 12:45But it's just like on some of the states it's just like it gets dragged out and i don't understand,
- 12:51i don't know if the networks just don't want to do it because they they need
- 12:54they want those eyeballs to be just watching and just be glued in because it
- 12:58is non-stop stick keeping our eyes locked on the screen and just locked on our
- 13:04phones locked on our devices continually refreshing x I am so used to saying Twitter,
- 13:10but continually refreshing X to get that instant information.
- 13:15What's the newest thing out there? What's the newest thing? The newest thing
- 13:18that's been released? Is there any new news?
- 13:21And is that why people, the networks just drag their feet almost to doing it?
- 13:25But I just don't get it. It's like we knew Pennsylvania. We knew Wisconsin and Michigan.
- 13:29We knew those three were going to be so huge. But it's like the whole East Coast
- 13:33and most of the half of the country has been called.
- 13:36But it's like those still we don't have the defined answer and the declared
- 13:42winner from those states.
- 13:45And it's we need to it to be standardized.
- 13:47I think that's the word I'm looking for. It needs to be standardized as opposed
- 13:51to everyone doing how they want. But maybe that's the state's thing.
- 13:54Maybe that's maybe that's what it's supposed to be. I don't know.
- 13:56Because I always hear about it needs to be a state's thing. Bring it to the states.
- 13:59We are 50 different social experiments happening. and whatever is the doing
- 14:07it the best can look at other states and how they're doing it.
- 14:09Maybe that's the whole thing with elections. Maybe just other states like Pennsylvania
- 14:15and Wisconsin and Michigan, they just need to look at the other states,
- 14:20how they're counting their votes.
- 14:21And it's like, can we kind of replicate and repeat some of the ways the other states are doing it?
- 14:28Because we're obviously doing it a lot slower and not getting the job done quick
- 14:32enough. because these elections should be able to be called within the night. They should be.
- 14:39I mean, how can one state get done so quickly but another state not? Maybe there is a reason.
- 14:45Maybe there's a reason. If you know the reason, and it's a real good reason,
- 14:48it's not just something just to say, let me know.
- 14:51I would love to know why some are out there and just not able to be as effective
- 14:58in counting votes and get into the winner as other states. it's different.
- 15:05We shall see how this evening turns out. It's getting close.
- 15:09It looks like Pennsylvania's 90% has been counted.
- 15:13And Trump is up, it looks about almost 300,000 in votes.
- 15:19Things are not being called yet. They just, things are being dragged out as we see.
- 15:24And it looks like New York, Kamala, Kamala, I am terrible at saying the right,
- 15:30she'll say it the right way, but I'll, I'll get better at that.
- 15:33Or it looks like she has taken New York.
- 15:36But Trump is, I think he gave her a run for her money in getting close to the vote in New York.
- 15:43He was the, he's obviously a
- 15:45New York guy. I don't know why he is almost disliked so much in New York.
- 15:49But, I mean, he's, I mean, his claim to fame is he is a New York guy.
- 15:54He's a New York man, you know.
- 15:56And, but I guess some states are just, they're just blue.
- 15:59No matter how much, you know, they're just blue. And it's the same way with
- 16:03other states. They're just red.
- 16:04That's why we need to make every state.
- 16:07Let's make I mean that I and I know that goes against the grain and it goes
- 16:12against what most people would try for or what what most people would push for and kind of espouse.
- 16:19They would say that we need to have these kind of this dividing lines and have red and blue.
- 16:25But to me, it's I can't like both parties, let them be red, white and blue.
- 16:29That's the only colors you can use. And you have to use all three.
- 16:31Let's all be red white and blue and what
- 16:35where you stand on issues and you have to clearly say where you stand on issues
- 16:39and what your issue is that you are standing on make it clear and understandable
- 16:44to everyone who hears if they hurt if they hear you they see what you're saying
- 16:49there's no double speak there's no say one thing when you mean you're really
- 16:53meaning another you Clear,
- 16:54clear espousing of your ideas.
- 16:58Clear delineation of your stance on issues.
- 17:02And best ideas win. Defend your ideas.
- 17:06Talk about them. Open communication. That's why the First Amendment, freedom of speech.
- 17:12Let people say what they think, say what they mean.
- 17:14And that is such a novel idea. In this world, it is a novel idea.
- 17:20We think we've just lived with it our whole lives. and it's just familiarity
- 17:24breeds contempt and i think a lot of people have just are just so used to being
- 17:30able to say what they think and but you got to be able to take hearing what you don't like,
- 17:38you got to be able to take care of what you don't like and if we were just that
- 17:42should almost in itself be a course that we teach in school hearing what you
- 17:46don't like and i understand that that's that person's freedom to say it you
- 17:51know and as long as the lines of communication are still open.
- 17:56And we are defending those lines. That is that is one of the biggest reasons
- 18:01this this country will stay intact and this country will continue to get stronger
- 18:06and better, more wealthy.
- 18:09And just because when we rise, we will lift the tide for everyone.
- 18:14You know, we have lifted the tides in this world for other of other nations.
- 18:19Just the technology and just the wealth that we've generated in our country
- 18:25has helped so many other countries.
- 18:27That's why everyone reaches out to us. That's why even though some countries
- 18:32and some people in other lands, they look at us and they don't like us,
- 18:35a lot of times it's just resentful.
- 18:38And I don't really know why it is sometimes.
- 18:40I think it's just hot. But when I've been out of the country,
- 18:45most people love Americans. Most people, they look at America as in America,
- 18:50and they just think, oh, and they want to get there.
- 18:54And you see that that's why people do everything they can to get them and their
- 19:00family to America because it's the land of opportunity.
- 19:04And you are not stuck in one class forever, but you have the ability through merit,
- 19:12through hard work, hard but you have the opportunity
- 19:15to become huge you
- 19:18have the opportunity to become make a
- 19:22lot of money have the opportunity to build a
- 19:25great just name and platform wherever you
- 19:28go you it's like it's some people have a
- 19:31little bit higher i mean it's there's not have a little bit of
- 19:33leg up you know there's no denying that some people have
- 19:36a better leg up but even somebody not having
- 19:39the best leg up wherever you start from anybody can
- 19:43make it in america anybody and there's no you
- 19:46can't deny that anyone can make it and sometimes
- 19:49when you start out at a lower position almost you
- 19:52can have the chance of being even greater because
- 19:55you've seen it from that perspective so i
- 19:58mean in america it's just america is
- 20:01amazing it is amazing and it's like whenever you leave
- 20:03the country there's nothing better than coming
- 20:07back to america and it's that's that's a
- 20:10really thing that's a rare thing you know we always you want to go on
- 20:12vacation and you want to cross the ocean and there's
- 20:16a lot of amazing countries out there but it's always great to come home it's
- 20:21always great to come home and we don't need to spread we don't need to americanize
- 20:26other countries we don't need to get into their democratic systems and make
- 20:30them democracies like that i think that's That's shown to fail.
- 20:34Let other countries be what they want to be, you know, but let's just take care
- 20:39of ourselves and be smart on the relationships we have with other countries.
- 20:45Be smart with how other countries view us.
- 20:50Lead with strength. Lead with strength, and that's what's going to make the difference.
- 20:55That's what's going to make the difference and have other countries respect
- 20:58us, and it's going to take care of other countries. It's going to help the other
- 21:03rest of the world to thrive if America is great.
- 21:06This election, it has been crazy.
- 21:10It has been crazy from start to finish. There have been so many things that
- 21:13have happened, so many things that the whole cycle of it, And I know there are
- 21:19so many people out there that are ready for it to be over.
- 21:23You talk to anyone, they're just ready for it to be over.
- 21:26Because I think as Americans, we don't like conflict.
- 21:30We naturally don't like conflict.
- 21:33But it's part of it. I don't think that it needs to be.
- 21:37That's why I say obliterate the political parties. I say that,
- 21:42you know, and I'll stand by that.
- 21:44Obliterate them let us all become red white and blue so we'll
- 21:49see how this evening turns out we'll see if one of
- 21:51the winners is declared it's looking
- 21:54like it's going to be president trump but anything could happen
- 21:57anything could happen so we will find out i hope i hope we find out soon i hope
- 22:03it is not drag drag out but we will see all right ladies and gentlemen it has
- 22:09been declared donald trump Trump will be the next president of the United States, number 47.
- 22:16He has just taken Pennsylvania. He's been declared the winner.
- 22:21It's done. It's official. And like I said, it doesn't need to be something.
- 22:26Nobody needs to be no sore winner.
- 22:27Nobody needs to rub it in the other's face. We need to pick each other up,
- 22:32come together, and come together as a country, like literally,
- 22:35and not have this divisive rhetoric, not have this at each other's throats anymore.
- 22:41Let's just come together and make this country great.
- 22:45And it's a, I see a.
- 22:48This can be a launching pad for where we go as a nation, where the sky is the
- 22:54limit, even beyond that.
- 22:55Sky is the limit, and we can make things amazing for our citizens,
- 23:00make things even and lift the rest of the world up, you know, and make a difference.
- 23:05Do something in this world. Do something for humanity, especially getting Elon Musk.
- 23:11He is going to be a part of the system.
- 23:14He's going to be a part of the administration. you know, in some way,
- 23:18and he is all about connecting with other planets. Take us to Mars.
- 23:23We might get futuristic very fast, you know, very fast, but either way,
- 23:29I think we got to come back to the fundamentals, do the things that are just
- 23:33going to make our nation run properly.
- 23:35You know, if you, I, the economy is going to, it's going to boom.
- 23:40It's going to boom. I know it will. I am very confident of that.
- 23:43You know, I think either way, if, if Kamala would have won, we would have still
- 23:48been, we would have, you know, the United States is going to carry on, is going to continue on.
- 23:54But I think having Trump set back into the office, you know,
- 23:58forget the man, forget the man, just throw that aside.
- 24:01Look at the policy, look at the policy because the man is going to come, the man is going to go.
- 24:06Whoever's sitting in the Oval Office is just going to be a name in the,
- 24:09in the history books, but it's the policies that he's going to put in place
- 24:12that I think it's going to be wonderful for our children and for our grandchildren and beyond that.
- 24:21So there, this America is just getting started.
- 24:25So everybody get ready and let's come together and let, and let's knock it out of the park.
- 24:31Nobody be sore winners and try not to be a sore loser, you know,
- 24:35and that's the thing. We don't, there, there is no losers in this, in this outcome.
- 24:39There is no losers. There's no losers whatsoever.
- 24:42Let's all come together. So it's amazing.
- 24:46I'm, I'm thrilled. And I hope you all are too. We are the, these United States
- 24:50of America, go red, right, and blue and praise God. Have a good night. Talk to you soon.
