- 1:02Speaker 3: Podcast called twenty five wistuball and they whist so.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Yes, too bad, But what did you expect.
- 1:10Speaker 4: It's a podcast called twenty five wiste.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Yes you heard anybody who yelled football? This guy, the
- 1:21Speaker 1: new guy, right, he didn't know. We didn't tell him.
- 1:24Speaker 1: So when it's not football season, we have the intro
- 1:27Speaker 1: that goes, it's blank, we're talking, and we all wear
- 1:31Speaker 1: a whistle. We yelled sports in the middle and I said, hey,
- 1:34Speaker 1: we're not gonna yell sports. We'll do the football one,
- 1:37Speaker 1: which Brandon interpreted as yell football.
- 1:39Speaker 5: But what an idiot he recorded the original one.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Who sings the theme songs. Yeah, yeah, there is it
- 1:49Speaker 1: is football. We doubled up.
- 1:50Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:50Speaker 1: I watched the entire draft last night. Yeah, and most
- 1:53Speaker 1: of the time I don't watch all of it. Life
- 1:56Speaker 1: gets in the way. But I kind of had a
- 1:58Speaker 1: couple extra tokens I could use just being an awesome husband,
- 2:01Speaker 1: and I was just like, I'm just gonna watch the
- 2:02Speaker 1: whole draft. Yes, yeah, So I didn't really catch him
- 2:05Speaker 1: out of stand the other room. I just didn't. Yeah,
- 2:08Speaker 1: I just hit. I hit basically. So I don't want
- 2:14Speaker 1: it to be too much about what's gonna happen in
- 2:15Speaker 1: the second round, we can say, sure they didn't get
- 2:18Speaker 1: drafted shoulder. And that was weird because it was where's
- 2:23Speaker 1: he gonna go? I mean, first it's possible they would
- 2:25Speaker 1: go to Cleveland, but when Cleveland traded out of that
- 2:27Speaker 1: spot and jackson Villain's have given up everything to get
- 2:29Speaker 1: that spot, you're like, well, he's not going to Jacksonville
- 2:32Speaker 1: because they have a quarterback they just paid for a
- 2:33Speaker 1: long time. So then you're like, possibly the Giants, but
- 2:37Speaker 1: probably not the Giants. And he didn't go to the Giants.
- 2:40Speaker 1: So then the Browns were there at five, and you
- 2:42Speaker 1: thought maybe the Browns were trading back because they knew
- 2:46Speaker 1: that Shouldar would still be there at five, and so
- 2:49Speaker 1: there is some value to trading back a few spots,
- 2:52Speaker 1: getting some picks, and getting the same exact person later.
- 2:55Speaker 1: But when they took Mason Graham, you're like, well, I
- 2:58Speaker 1: don't think it's gonna be the Raider because they just
- 3:02Speaker 1: paid their quarterback. And that's like a Pete Carroll reunification
- 3:06Speaker 1: tour there, yep. And so you're going, okay, well let's
- 3:09Speaker 1: just look down. I hope it'd be the Jets. I
- 3:11Speaker 1: have been hilarious. It wasn't the Jet Open, it wasn't
- 3:15Speaker 1: the Panthers they have a quarterback, But it was the
- 3:17Speaker 1: Saints at nine. That's what they had been talking about
- 3:19Speaker 1: for a long time. But the whispers had then started
- 3:22Speaker 1: to be the Saints didn't even really value Schudur as
- 3:26Speaker 1: the next quarterback up. And you're going, really, they may
- 3:30Speaker 1: go and they may go to Ole Miss. It's funny
- 3:32Speaker 1: they call Ole Miss Mississippi.
- 3:34Speaker 5: Yeah, because they put on.
- 3:36Speaker 1: The screen and they do it. They put on the screen,
- 3:38Speaker 1: oh Miss. But Goodell goes from Mississippi University of Mississippi.
- 3:43Speaker 4: Ye.
- 3:44Speaker 1: So but no, no quarterback at all taken by the Saints.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Then you're thinking, well, will it be the Cowboys? And
- 3:50Speaker 1: only because they're dumb, that's the only reason. That's funny thought,
- 3:53Speaker 1: that's the only reason. Because I thought, maybe it'll be
- 3:56Speaker 1: the Cowboys just because they're idiots. Yeah, not because they
- 3:58Speaker 1: needed it. They they're paying down fifty million a year.
- 4:01Speaker 5: That never crossed my mind.
- 4:02Speaker 1: But wasn't the Cowboys.
- 4:04Speaker 5: Nope?
- 4:05Speaker 1: Then you're going, is it the Dolphins? Two is always hurt.
- 4:09Speaker 1: They are paying them a bunch of money, but that
- 4:11Speaker 1: backup gets regardless of who it is gets a lot
- 4:14Speaker 1: of playing time, and I think the ESPN analytics, because
- 4:18Speaker 1: I was flipping from ESPN to NFL Network, how did
- 4:21Speaker 1: it like forty six percent Miami at that point? So
- 4:25Speaker 1: Miami ends up going to defend the tackle, and you're
- 4:27Speaker 1: looking down and you're thinking, either someone's going to trade
- 4:30Speaker 1: in at any minute, or a quarterback's not gonna get taken.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Because the Falcons don't need a quarterback. They didn't take
- 4:36Speaker 1: a quarterback, The Cardinals don't need a quarterback, The Bengals
- 4:39Speaker 1: don't need a quarterback. Seattle possibly, Okay, no Shitar, the
- 4:46Speaker 1: Bucks don't need a quarterback, the Broncos don't need a quarterback.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Nobody's trading in, and now it's all coming to the Steelers,
- 4:53Speaker 1: right because we had heard if he lasted a twenty one,
- 4:54Speaker 1: which we didn't think it was gonna last twenty one anyway,
- 4:57Speaker 1: for sure, the Steelers Derek Carmon defensive tackle again, Oh crap.
- 5:02Speaker 5: I would have bet the farm on that.
- 5:05Speaker 1: So in my mind, I'm thinking probably the Chargers next,
- 5:10Speaker 1: because the Charger would have traded that pick, is what
- 5:16Speaker 1: I would have thought, because if the Steelers weren't gona
- 5:18Speaker 1: get him, it's open market for any of those other teams.
- 5:20Speaker 1: But the Chargers being next, now, they didn't they took
- 5:22Speaker 1: They got there from North Carolina and then away we went.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Packers on need to quarterback, Vikings on need to quarterback.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Oh wait, wait wait, there's a trade. And they showed
- 5:34Speaker 1: the draft room where is and he's got a huge
- 5:36Speaker 1: smile and he's like laughing, ude, what was funny. The
- 5:38Speaker 1: funniest thing to me was on ESPN they showed where
- 5:41Speaker 1: Shadur was. He's in Dallas. There his home and there's
- 5:44Speaker 1: a big draft party. But on the screens they have
- 5:46Speaker 1: NFL Networks draft coverage. They didn't last very long in
- 5:48Speaker 1: that room. They cut out of there because they were
- 5:50Speaker 1: showing NFL Networks. Yeah that's who they were watching that.
- 5:56Speaker 1: I didn't notice that, Yeah, because I saw Rapport and
- 5:59Speaker 1: on the found network it was Eisen and Rappaport and
- 6:03Speaker 1: also okay, yeah, so okay, giants about to get them,
- 6:07Speaker 1: about to get shutter. Here we go, baby Jackson Dart
- 6:11Speaker 1: University of Mississippi.
- 6:14Speaker 5: My favorite is when they showed the fans and they're.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Like, and there had been a lot of talk that
- 6:21Speaker 1: it wasn't gonna be Sudar. But it was like we're
- 6:24Speaker 1: hearing I know it's not the most popular thing to say,
- 6:27Speaker 1: but Jackson Dart could go before shouldar uh and then
- 6:30Speaker 1: shoulder never went. So by the time you hear this,
- 6:32Speaker 1: shooter is probably the first pick in the second round,
- 6:34Speaker 1: probably in Cleveland or whatever, because Cleveland, imagine that they're
- 6:38Speaker 1: still going to get the quarterback. They almost took as
- 6:41Speaker 1: round the first pick in the second round. Wild and
- 6:45Speaker 1: nobody they don't have to trade that pick. Like, if
- 6:47Speaker 1: that's what they want, they got it. Nobody can actually
- 6:48Speaker 1: trade into it and take it from them. It's crazy.
- 6:50Speaker 6: Yeah, and they stocked up. Yeah, the Jaguars trading up.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Which to say about that, The Jaguars gave up a lot. Yeah, However,
- 7:02Speaker 1: the Jaguars GM is like thirty two for sure. He
- 7:06Speaker 1: trades like I do on Madden, Like he just trades,
- 7:10Speaker 1: probably the way that I just push. Will they accept this?
- 7:13Speaker 1: Will they accept this? What if I add one more?
- 7:15Speaker 1: Will they accept this? Well? They and then finally somebody yep,
- 7:19Speaker 1: trade accepted And so yeah, they gave up a lot. However,
- 7:23Speaker 1: I'm a big believer of taking big swings. He took
- 7:26Speaker 1: a big swing, and if you miss. Okay, you took
- 7:28Speaker 1: a big swing and it sucks. But you really don't
- 7:31Speaker 1: do big things unless you take big swings. And it's
- 7:34Speaker 1: not as if they're going to be any good for
- 7:37Speaker 1: the next couple of years. Without big swings. They can
- 7:39Speaker 1: slowly rebuild that culture, but that's a four or five
- 7:41Speaker 1: year thing. Yeah, and they will have to rebuild a culture.
- 7:44Speaker 1: But they got a new coach. They now have Travis Hunter.
- 7:47Speaker 1: They got a new GM. It's thirty two years old.
- 7:49Speaker 1: I was watching the interview. He's like, it looks like
- 7:51Speaker 1: a kid. It's crazy, Like, for sure, he trades a
- 7:53Speaker 1: lot on Madden.
- 7:54Speaker 5: Oh yeah, that's how your practices.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I watched the whole thing. I thought it was
- 7:58Speaker 1: fun whenever the Eagles traded up one spot, but that
- 8:01Speaker 1: was in the first round, just to make sure. But
- 8:04Speaker 1: they traded up with the team that went one spot
- 8:07Speaker 1: behind him, where it's almost like you call can't sit
- 8:10Speaker 1: and you go, hey, are you gonna take John Campbell?
- 8:12Speaker 5: Right?
- 8:13Speaker 1: No, all right, then we're gonna be good and sit here.
- 8:16Speaker 1: But they were like, we don't trust you, Yeah, trade
- 8:18Speaker 1: us and we'll give you a fifth round. And so
- 8:19Speaker 1: they traded up one spot and they got him. Think
- 8:21Speaker 1: about him was he was like twelfth, thirteenth, fourteenth on
- 8:23Speaker 1: all the boards, but he had he was hurt yep,
- 8:26Speaker 1: because he's so good. The Eagles, it seems like every
- 8:29Speaker 1: year have somebody fall for character reasons or injury reasons,
- 8:32Speaker 1: then ended up being awesome because that culture there either
- 8:36Speaker 1: a they heal up or.
- 8:38Speaker 5: Be and the Eagles already had like as a fan base,
- 8:40Speaker 5: have character issues.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Well yeah, or be that culture corrects them, right yeah,
- 8:46Speaker 1: oh yeah, Like you don't go into you can't really
- 8:48Speaker 1: go into that place to be an idiot because they'll
- 8:50Speaker 1: whoop you. They'll whoop it out of you. Yeah. So
- 8:53Speaker 1: I thought for the most part it was a pretty
- 8:55Speaker 1: fun draft because you just didn't know. The whole time.
- 8:58Speaker 1: I kept thinking the Cowboys were gonna draft Golden from Texas.
- 9:01Speaker 5: That's what I wanted, man, that receiver. That would have
- 9:03Speaker 5: been great. But you know what, though I'm happy with
- 9:05Speaker 5: this pick. We needed someone to take Zach Martin Zach
- 9:08Speaker 5: Martin's place.
- 9:09Speaker 1: You're not happy with the pick. No, you're happy with
- 9:12Speaker 1: now when you look you wanted we want to flash
- 9:16Speaker 1: Patthey Golden, you said you get annoyed when they drafted.
- 9:18Speaker 5: I want a gent and then I wanted Matthew Golden
- 9:20Speaker 5: and then Scataboo after that. But Skataboo will be around.
- 9:25Speaker 5: I think we have three picks in the seventh rounds. Well,
- 9:26Speaker 5: maybe we get scatter.
- 9:27Speaker 1: You'll definitely draft a running back. There's a lot of them. Yeah,
- 9:30Speaker 1: heavy running back draft. Yeah, you weren't happy last night,
- 9:33Speaker 1: but I think you'll be happy. It's like a sexy investment. Sure,
- 9:38Speaker 1: didn't know much about investments. But when I'm like, ooh,
- 9:41Speaker 1: let's do a restaurant that's a wide receiver or hey,
- 9:46Speaker 1: you're like, it's gonna be fun. But if someone's like,
- 9:49Speaker 1: actually the S and P four four eighty, you know
- 9:52Speaker 1: you could do this and it goes up one point,
- 9:53Speaker 1: I'm like that sounds so boring, Okay, and then like
- 9:55Speaker 1: three years later, your lies of the restaurant out of business,
- 9:58Speaker 1: it's boarded up, or it's a daycare. Now money, it's
- 10:04Speaker 1: actually made you money. Yeah, like that's what you guys?
- 10:06Speaker 1: Did you invested in whatever that is?
- 10:07Speaker 5: I know. But there was an interview that he did
- 10:09Speaker 5: afterwards with Michael Parsons and a couple other cowboys, and
- 10:13Speaker 5: it was so awesome. They asked him, like, you know
- 10:16Speaker 5: about He's always said that he loves taking the the
- 10:19Speaker 5: love out of people's eyes when he plays football. And
- 10:22Speaker 5: they're like, what does that mean? Did you hear this?
- 10:23Speaker 7: I saw that.
- 10:25Speaker 5: What does that mean? And he goes, he goes, He's like,
- 10:28Speaker 5: football is a child sport, Like it's you know, you
- 10:30Speaker 5: wake up in the morning, you excited to play the game.
- 10:32Speaker 5: And he's like, and I took so much, so much
- 10:35Speaker 5: love out of playing these guys and watching the game
- 10:38Speaker 5: start with them loving the game of football and in
- 10:40Speaker 5: the middle of the game them looking like they hate
- 10:43Speaker 5: the game of football. And I was like, Yes, that's
- 10:45Speaker 5: what I'm talking about. That's what the Cowboys need.
- 10:48Speaker 1: You've been terrible. Jer Eddy would shift on every single
- 10:50Speaker 1: thing because he was all upset. Now he's like, yeah, upset.
- 10:53Speaker 5: I was disappointed. But then after I saw that interview
- 10:56Speaker 5: and like, this is cool and he's the third tyler
- 10:59Speaker 5: on the offensive line. You're just gonna get.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Well, you're justifying a lot of ways to like this.
- 11:02Speaker 1: You know, he's really good. He's a guard. Guards usually
- 11:05Speaker 1: don't get drafted at early. Tackles are much more valuable
- 11:09Speaker 1: because of how athletic they have to be defending the
- 11:12Speaker 1: edge because those ends have the ability. But yeah, no,
- 11:16Speaker 1: uh awesome, let's me go so, yeah, good job Cowboys.
- 11:19Speaker 1: As a non Cowboy fan, I think that was a
- 11:21Speaker 1: good pick by the Cowboys.
- 11:22Speaker 5: Yeah, you have clearer eyes.
- 11:23Speaker 1: I can understand why I'm in a Cowboy group chat,
- 11:25Speaker 1: which I don't want to be in. They put me in.
- 11:27Speaker 1: I can't get out.
- 11:28Speaker 5: I don't even respond to that Cowboys group chat.
- 11:30Speaker 1: They were all like oh or nothing for a long
- 11:34Speaker 1: time after the pick, and they all leading up to it,
- 11:36Speaker 1: the memes and pictures, and then I rode on there.
- 11:38Speaker 1: The crowd goes mild.
- 11:39Speaker 5: I guess I did nothing.
- 11:40Speaker 1: They said nothing. What is everybody else think? Yeah, so
- 11:43Speaker 1: a pretty good draft. I mean Cam wod obviously we
- 11:45Speaker 1: knew he'd go number one. Travis Hunter we knew would
- 11:49Speaker 1: probably go number two. We just thought it'd beat to Cleveland,
- 11:53Speaker 1: Abdill Carter. It kind of was the way we thought.
- 11:56Speaker 1: It just wasn't all the teams that we thought I did.
- 11:59Speaker 1: I've had two bad I had betting losses in the
- 12:01Speaker 1: past two days though.
- 12:03Speaker 5: Did you bet on the draft?
- 12:04Speaker 1: Well only I only made one bet. I may I've
- 12:06Speaker 1: lost like thirteen hundred dollars in the last two days.
- 12:09Speaker 1: I'll tell you my two bets specifically. You good, Yeah,
- 12:13Speaker 1: I'm richt you.
- 12:15Speaker 6: Need a loan.
- 12:16Speaker 1: I'm okay. I don't like it, Spot, I mean, it sucks.
- 12:20Speaker 1: It's not like fun to lose, But now I appreciate that, Rightead,
- 12:22Speaker 1: we're here for you.
- 12:23Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, I had about twenty bucks all together. Yeah. Yeah.
- 12:27Speaker 1: I bet the other night when Golden State was down
- 12:29Speaker 1: like eighteen to the Rockets. They were at minus. There's
- 12:33Speaker 1: Golden State plus eight and a half going into half,
- 12:35Speaker 1: and I was like, Oh, for sure they may not
- 12:36Speaker 1: win this, but they're gonna end up getting and so
- 12:38Speaker 1: I'm putting.
- 12:39Speaker 5: Wait, wait, you said for sure. Yeah yeah, it Almos
- 12:42Speaker 5: gets me. When I say for.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Sure, I'm like, for sure, gold does it. Golden State
- 12:45Speaker 1: they may not win, but they'll climb within eight points
- 12:48Speaker 1: and they didn't. Actually, they lost bad. That's about fifteen.
- 12:50Speaker 1: I saw a five hundred bucks on that one, and
- 12:52Speaker 1: in my account, I think I had thirteen hundred bucks,
- 12:55Speaker 1: and so I bet Ashton genty to go fifth overall
- 12:58Speaker 1: last night. The rest of it like seven hundred dollars
- 13:01Speaker 1: seven thirty or something, and he went sixth, and that
- 13:04Speaker 1: was only because the order changed.
- 13:06Speaker 5: Dann, That's crazy, that's close.
- 13:07Speaker 1: I think it was. To look at that again, what
- 13:11Speaker 1: do oh you know because Cleveland popped into that five spot.
- 13:14Speaker 1: It did because if the deal was Jacksonville at five
- 13:18Speaker 1: wanted to take him, and if Jacksonville would have been
- 13:21Speaker 1: at five, they would have taken him. But Jacksonville traded
- 13:22Speaker 1: up to the two spot. So I think had that
- 13:24Speaker 1: trade not happened, I would have hit.
- 13:25Speaker 5: Yeah, Browns, we went down to five.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Yeah, so hey, ub blood do you ubla?
- 13:31Speaker 5: Do I know? But that live NBA, dude, that's tough.
- 13:34Speaker 1: I didn't watch the game. I fell asleep and I
- 13:35Speaker 1: woke up and I was like, oh, let me count
- 13:37Speaker 1: my moneyes. Oh god, what that was funny?
- 13:39Speaker 5: You said this today too, You're like, man, I want
- 13:41Speaker 5: to sleep. Hear the Grizzlies won and sure got picked. No,
- 13:44Speaker 5: none of that happened.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Well, I didn't think she got picked, but I did
- 13:47Speaker 1: think to Grizzlies won because we were talking about it
- 13:49Speaker 1: on the show.
- 13:49Speaker 5: I watched that whole game too.
- 13:51Speaker 1: If they were up by twenty or something.
- 13:52Speaker 5: Shit just started draining threes in the second half, and
- 13:54Speaker 5: that was over and I had.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Just assumed it was two to one because we did
- 13:58Speaker 1: the YouTube video with Raid see if I was gonna
- 14:00Speaker 1: buy some tickets to the game, and I'll say it's
- 14:02Speaker 1: two to one. And I was like no, no, no, like,
- 14:05Speaker 1: oh my god, they lost again. I knew Jow got hurt. Yeah,
- 14:08Speaker 1: but it was like a it was like a twenty
- 14:10Speaker 1: point lead. Yeah, twenty nine crazy, Yeah, Thunder up three
- 14:13Speaker 1: to zero.
- 14:14Speaker 5: Hey, I called it. I'm just joking. I'm not gonna
- 14:17Speaker 5: say that yet. I'm not gonna say that yet. Wait
- 14:20Speaker 5: till round two. But it is fun though. It's fun
- 14:22Speaker 5: now that like.
- 14:23Speaker 1: I'm rooting for the Thunder, but there's a bonus to me.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Now if they don't win.
- 14:26Speaker 5: Are you rooting more for Thunder or me and a
- 14:28Speaker 5: thong Thunder?
- 14:30Speaker 1: But there is a consolation, which is you have to
- 14:32Speaker 1: pay off the bed. I think it'd be awesome with
- 14:34Speaker 1: a Thunder one. I just I've been playing two K
- 14:36Speaker 1: a little bit, not online, but just myself because sometimes
- 14:38Speaker 1: I wake up like two in the morning, and there's
- 14:41Speaker 1: a breaking point of when I wake up and when
- 14:43Speaker 1: I try to go back to sleep and when I
- 14:45Speaker 1: wake up and I just can't go back to sleep
- 14:47Speaker 1: because then I'm messed up because there's a certain level
- 14:50Speaker 1: of nap that just messes my brain up. So there's
- 14:52Speaker 1: a breaking point. It's like two forty five. I wake
- 14:54Speaker 1: up before two forty five. I'll try to go back
- 14:58Speaker 1: to sleep. If I'm up three ten, three twenty, I'm
- 15:01Speaker 1: just up because I'm gonna wake up in the next
- 15:03Speaker 1: hour and a half anyway. So I started to play
- 15:05Speaker 1: two K twenty five just against the computer. So I
- 15:07Speaker 1: built a team, and I grabbed the Thunder. That would
- 15:09Speaker 1: be my favorite NBA team, even though don't really have
- 15:11Speaker 1: a favorite, but it's my favorite NBA Current Thunder, All Thunder,
- 15:14Speaker 1: Current Thunder because it's the season and I tried a Chat.
- 15:17Speaker 1: He sucks. Wow, I don't know what to do with
- 15:20Speaker 1: him really, yeah, because he's a fine three point shooter,
- 15:23Speaker 1: but he's not quick enough. I just don't know how
- 15:24Speaker 1: to use him on the game. He was like a
- 15:25Speaker 1: ninety overall traded who did you tradeing for Amen Thompson
- 15:30Speaker 1: and another draft pick? So I got rid of Chat.
- 15:34Speaker 1: He sucks on the game, and he also couldn't post
- 15:36Speaker 1: people out. They push him around Skinny as a rail.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Gonna be a terrible general manager.
- 15:39Speaker 6: I played like the Jaguar.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I play like I played like two games and
- 15:43Speaker 1: I was like, I gotta trade chet. I'm out of here,
- 15:45Speaker 1: so we're all scared of you. Yeah, so that's what's up.
- 15:49Speaker 1: I want to play. I found this on TikTok. It
- 15:52Speaker 1: was hilarious to me. I think it translates audio wise.
- 15:56Speaker 1: But it's a compilation of the worst draft reactions of
- 15:59Speaker 1: all time from the last decade. And it was posted
- 16:02Speaker 1: by Skimma Scavie on TikTok. And what it is they'll
- 16:06Speaker 1: say and the so and so draft so and so,
- 16:08Speaker 1: and the crowd gets all pissed off, but it ends
- 16:10Speaker 1: up being great, like a great decision. The crowd had
- 16:12Speaker 1: no idea. They have a time machine, obviously. I think
- 16:16Speaker 1: this translates go ahead, hit.
- 16:17Speaker 6: Of Mike, the bucalo Bill selection Josh Allens.
- 16:23Speaker 4: Vikings with Justin Jefferson. I am kind of unhappy with that, jjaj.
- 16:36Speaker 1: It hurts quarterback.
- 16:37Speaker 7: That has to be the stupidest thing I've ever seen. Patrick.
- 16:44Speaker 4: Really, this is.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Why this organization will never win.
- 16:47Speaker 7: A Super Bowl in my life time.
- 16:50Speaker 8: That's great, That's hilarious right so far, I'm ahad to
- 16:54Speaker 8: translate because I'm watching it going we have no idea,
- 16:57Speaker 8: even us, even the experts, because either Kuiper is going
- 17:01Speaker 8: to be mister genius in five years from this draft,
- 17:05Speaker 8: or he's going to be the biggest idiot, because as
- 17:06Speaker 8: soon as the draft starts, they're.
- 17:08Speaker 1: Like, mel Cav's not your number one quarterback. Con He's like,
- 17:11Speaker 1: it is not, It's Shader Sanders and it's like a
- 17:13Speaker 1: nine minute American Idol highlight package all about he's like
- 17:17Speaker 1: number one, number one. And so either he will look
- 17:20Speaker 1: like a genius for this or not. But the way
- 17:24Speaker 1: to win these as a Kuiper who's an analyst, us
- 17:28Speaker 1: who just say stupid stuff, we don't know anything, is
- 17:31Speaker 1: just to be compelling and interesting. It's not to be right.
- 17:33Speaker 1: And I think a lot of times people get those
- 17:34Speaker 1: confused are like, well, you look how wrong he was.
- 17:37Speaker 1: The joke's kind of on you because if they were wrong,
- 17:40Speaker 1: it was memorable by how they were wrong, and they
- 17:44Speaker 1: still exist in whatever the zeitgeist of sports media is.
- 17:47Speaker 1: When they do the cow herd like how wrong he is?
- 17:49Speaker 1: At times the dude talks for three hours a day,
- 17:52Speaker 1: four hours day, five days a week, just numbers wise,
- 17:54Speaker 1: you're going to be wrong a lot. But he's very compelling.
- 17:58Speaker 1: And even he said that to me, it doesn't matter
- 18:00Speaker 1: if you're right or wrong, like just be interesting and so.
- 18:04Speaker 5: Iard said that too.
- 18:05Speaker 1: Yeah, and so he wasn't. He was saying in a conversation,
- 18:10Speaker 1: we were having awesome yeah, and the time. Feel about
- 18:13Speaker 1: all the stuff that we do on this show or whatever.
- 18:15Speaker 1: We don't. We we're not experts anyway. We're people who
- 18:17Speaker 1: just love sports. But even on the big show, like
- 18:20Speaker 1: I say all kinds of stuff that's not right, and
- 18:22Speaker 1: sometimes I correct it. Sometimes I'm like, who cares? Most
- 18:25Speaker 1: time I try to correct it if it's something that
- 18:26Speaker 1: needs to be corrected. But yeah, we're wrong a lot.
- 18:29Speaker 1: That would draft reactions they were really wrong.
- 18:31Speaker 5: I mean that Josh Allen then we were all like
- 18:33Speaker 5: what who is Josh Allen?
- 18:34Speaker 1: Even after year one they were still like yeah. So
- 18:38Speaker 1: even in the NFL for a year, we were like,
- 18:39Speaker 1: I don't know about this. I do want to play
- 18:42Speaker 1: Michael Parsons. Because Michael Parsons was live streaming like his
- 18:46Speaker 1: podcast Bleacher Report thing last night and they had the
- 18:50Speaker 1: camera on him when the Cowboys were drafting their pick,
- 18:53Speaker 1: and so Michael Parsons is watching and they end up
- 18:55Speaker 1: drafting Tyler Booker from Bama the guard and so baby
- 18:59Speaker 1: bleacher which reports deleted the clip which is hilarious.
- 19:02Speaker 5: Oh he said they say something bad.
- 19:04Speaker 1: No, no, but I was just playing for you.
- 19:06Speaker 9: Go ahead, and the Dallas Cowboys are selected. Tyler Booker,
- 19:11Speaker 9: offensive lineman from Alabama is the official pick out of
- 19:16Speaker 9: the Crimson Tide.
- 19:21Speaker 5: I am excited about hey, player, but we just laughing.
- 19:28Speaker 10: Hold on, hold on, I am excited about the pick.
- 19:30Speaker 10: This guy is a beast. He is a beast. And
- 19:33Speaker 10: I look at him and Tyler Smith guard on guard
- 19:36Speaker 10: with Zach Martin leaving. This is one of them picks.
- 19:40Speaker 10: I mean, wow, he is a beast. He is a beast.
- 19:43Speaker 10: I just wanted to see that on my side.
- 19:47Speaker 5: That's it. But this guy's a beast.
- 19:49Speaker 10: I'm not mad at the pick.
- 19:51Speaker 1: Because when they said, his face goes But I believe him.
- 19:55Speaker 1: I think he just wanted totally. He wants some help.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, because he doesn't have much help.
- 19:59Speaker 5: It that is him, not anymore.
- 20:00Speaker 1: But seriously, he was deflated. Yeah, they were like, and
- 20:04Speaker 1: he goes, no, no, no, it's because I thought it was
- 20:06Speaker 1: gonna be help.
- 20:07Speaker 11: He's just like Eddie another every other Cowboys fan. Yes,
- 20:10Speaker 11: you know, at first you're like and then you're like,
- 20:11Speaker 11: oh god, kay yeah, actually he's all right the highlights
- 20:14Speaker 11: and you're like, okay, got to convince yourself.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Yeah he wanted We all want help, but that will
- 20:20Speaker 1: there will be help. That's help for the offense.
- 20:22Speaker 5: Yes, and that's coming.
- 20:23Speaker 1: We got more rounds and offense scores more points. He
- 20:25Speaker 1: gets more chances to rush the quarterback, more sacks because
- 20:29Speaker 1: they're always having a little more rest to have the throw. Yeah. Yeah,
- 20:33Speaker 1: I felt that though. So we have Joe Flacco coming up,
- 20:35Speaker 1: pretty excited about that, really good interview. Into a second,
- 20:38Speaker 1: we can talk about draft kings. I gotta get back
- 20:43Speaker 1: in the.
- 20:43Speaker 5: Next Oh yeah, reload. You're good, dude.
- 20:45Speaker 1: I never want to reload for the sake of losing.
- 20:49Speaker 1: What do you mean, I have two big losses. I
- 20:51Speaker 1: don't want to reload just to make my money back.
- 20:52Speaker 1: I got to reload, get my head straight, Okay. Yeah,
- 20:54Speaker 1: so take some time a little bit at your head
- 20:56Speaker 1: straight back thirty minutes from it. Yeah, the NBA eighty
- 21:01Speaker 1: two game grind is done, and now the real fun begins.

- 22:09Speaker 1: Now it's time for our talk with Joe Flacco, NFL quarterback,
- 22:13Speaker 1: super Bowl forty seven m VP playing with the Browns now.
- 22:17Speaker 1: I bet you he was watching last night going, don't
- 22:18Speaker 1: picture her, don't picture here.
- 22:21Speaker 6: He just seems so un phased in every way.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Yeah, Flack just goes with.
- 22:28Speaker 5: Around.
- 22:29Speaker 11: But yeah, to your point, I'm just surprised he's already
- 22:31Speaker 11: signed with the team.
- 22:33Speaker 1: I mean I think he'll he'll start, Oh he should,
- 22:36Speaker 1: I mean, can you Pickett's probably not. I don't know what.
- 22:39Speaker 1: I don't know what they're gonna do. If they're tank,
- 22:41Speaker 1: they'll start Picket and Flacco will be the backup because
- 22:43Speaker 1: Picket gets hurt. If they actually want to win some games, Yeah,
- 22:46Speaker 1: Flacco will probably be the starter. I imagine that Browns
- 22:51Speaker 1: will draft Shouldure first overall. And I hope this doesn't
- 22:55Speaker 1: get played back in a compilation of like wrong things.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Bobby said, Yeah, Joe signed with Cleveland this offseason, and
- 23:02Speaker 1: we'll turn to the Browns where he played in twenty
- 23:04Speaker 1: twenty three when he wont comeback Player of the Year.
- 23:06Speaker 1: You know who he beat the comeback player of the year. Yep,
- 23:09Speaker 1: A guy who died tomorrow.
- 23:10Speaker 5: That's right, Yeah, he died and came back to life.
- 23:13Speaker 1: Yeah. He played for the Ravens for ten years, played
- 23:15Speaker 1: for the Broncos, Jets, and cults. Sense Joe Flacco pretty
- 23:18Speaker 1: pumped about this here he is. Hey, Joe, appreciate the time.
- 23:22Speaker 1: I wanted to start talking about these cleats because, like,
- 23:25Speaker 1: I get hurt a lot, and I'm not even playing football,
- 23:27Speaker 1: Like I'll play pickleball and get hurt at this point.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Like I used to be like kind of an athlete.
- 23:31Speaker 1: But so these is it Kaddox cleats? Is that what
- 23:34Speaker 1: it is?
- 23:35Speaker 7: Caddocks cleats? Yeah?
- 23:36Speaker 1: What do they do?
- 23:38Speaker 12: Well, Listen, the biggest thing they do is they kind
- 23:40Speaker 12: of blend performance and injury prevention all in one cleat.
- 23:44Speaker 12: It's all the technology is all in the soul, all
- 23:47Speaker 12: in the actual cleat. It kind of moves around a
- 23:49Speaker 12: little bit and it just basically like allows a little
- 23:53Speaker 12: bit of release when you're planting, so as opposed to
- 23:56Speaker 12: sometimes when you can kind of get caught and hyper
- 23:58Speaker 12: extend your limbs and kind of you know, have too
- 24:01Speaker 12: much traction. This allows for a little bit of a
- 24:04Speaker 12: release so that not as much energy is kind of
- 24:06Speaker 12: moving up through your body.
- 24:07Speaker 7: But it's really cool.
- 24:09Speaker 12: I feel really fortunate to be able to kind of
- 24:11Speaker 12: be a part of it and wear.
- 24:12Speaker 7: Them last year and kind of had that whole experience.
- 24:15Speaker 1: So you feel like they helped, Like for real.
- 24:17Speaker 13: Listen, I think the biggest thing is is you know
- 24:21Speaker 13: that the technology is reducing the risk now as far
- 24:26Speaker 13: as the athlete goes as far as I go, I
- 24:28Speaker 13: just went out there and wore them like any other
- 24:29Speaker 13: pair of cleats.
- 24:30Speaker 12: I will say they're very comfortable. They tend to break
- 24:33Speaker 12: in very quickly and be a little bit easier on
- 24:36Speaker 12: all your joints. But ultimately, for me, it's like I'm
- 24:40Speaker 12: wearing another pair of cleats that I've loved my whole life.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Bro, I got to get some of these. We do
- 24:44Speaker 1: a show too. We travel around and like work out
- 24:46Speaker 1: with colleges and NFL teams like an interview, and I
- 24:49Speaker 1: end up I end up hurting something every time because
- 24:52Speaker 1: it's all I going to get, which, By the way,
- 24:54Speaker 1: they're doing a thing now. Catos is partnering with NFL
- 24:57Speaker 1: Alumni Health during this week's draft to give away prepare
- 25:00Speaker 1: their cleats and you can go to NFL Alumnihealth dot
- 25:03Speaker 1: org or go to Katos dot com c addix dot com.
- 25:07Speaker 1: My partner that I work with a lot is Matt Castle,
- 25:10Speaker 1: who played in the league for a long time, and
- 25:13Speaker 1: he talks about once he started to be a bit
- 25:16Speaker 1: older and he had dealt with injuries that the hardest
- 25:18Speaker 1: part was not not getting injured, it was bouncing back
- 25:24Speaker 1: because as you get older, it's harder to bounce back
- 25:27Speaker 1: at your stage right now, is that the hardest part
- 25:31Speaker 1: is when something hurts, does it take longer to heal?
- 25:33Speaker 12: I think you got to make sure that you get
- 25:35Speaker 12: to the point where nothing you minimize the amount of
- 25:40Speaker 12: build up that happens. Obviously throughout the course of a game,
- 25:42Speaker 12: you're gonna deal with acute injuries that you have to
- 25:45Speaker 12: try to heal from as quick as possible. But I
- 25:47Speaker 12: think for me, as I get a little bit older,
- 25:49Speaker 12: it's just that maintenance routine. It's getting a good routine
- 25:52Speaker 12: so that little things don't turn into big things. And
- 25:55Speaker 12: when I was younger, you kind of run through those
- 25:58Speaker 12: little things in a week. And now I've turned forty,
- 26:01Speaker 12: they kind of build up, they don't go away, and
- 26:03Speaker 12: before you know it, you're hurting a lot more than
- 26:05Speaker 12: you want to.
- 26:06Speaker 1: Does it hurt after every game or is there an
- 26:08Speaker 1: occasional game where you're like you look down, You're like,
- 26:11Speaker 1: I'm okay.
- 26:12Speaker 12: That's the beauty about playing quarterback is that, yes, you
- 26:15Speaker 12: do look down after some games and say, oh wow,
- 26:17Speaker 12: I came out of that one great. And you don't
- 26:18Speaker 12: really deal with anything. The other ten eleven guys on
- 26:22Speaker 12: the field, the other twenty one guys in the field,
- 26:24Speaker 12: when you're out there, they are dealing with it week
- 26:27Speaker 12: in and week out. I would say that I have
- 26:29Speaker 12: it easy, as you know, as it comes to the
- 26:33Speaker 12: NFL standard.
- 26:34Speaker 1: Why are you still playing? You love it?
- 26:37Speaker 12: I better love it if I'm doing this. Yeah, yeah,
- 26:39Speaker 12: I listen. I have one thing, maybe hopefully a couple
- 26:45Speaker 12: more than one thing, but one thing that I really
- 26:47Speaker 12: really enjoy doing, one thing that I feel like I
- 26:49Speaker 12: can really do at a high level, and I've never
- 26:53Speaker 12: really thought about not doing it. I've been able to
- 26:55Speaker 12: do it since I've been a kid, and I kind
- 26:58Speaker 12: of just want to keep that dream alive. I still
- 27:00Speaker 12: feel like I can do it at a high level
- 27:02Speaker 12: and have a lot of fun doing it. So yeah,
- 27:06Speaker 12: that's kind of why I still do it. It's kind
- 27:08Speaker 12: of a weird question to talk about, but it's a
- 27:13Speaker 12: lot of fun and I do love it. I love
- 27:15Speaker 12: being in that locker room with all the players. I
- 27:18Speaker 12: love being in the huddle. That feeling that you get
- 27:20Speaker 12: before before game time. I wouldn't say that I'm totally
- 27:25Speaker 12: in love with that, but when you don't have that
- 27:27Speaker 12: for a few months, you realize that you miss it.
- 27:29Speaker 7: It's just something that's pretty special.
- 27:31Speaker 1: Yeah, just eyeball testing you. You look good, Like even
- 27:34Speaker 1: with the Jets, you're like man Flacco still got it,
- 27:37Speaker 1: like when you had to play. So if you weren't
- 27:39Speaker 1: like telling us that you were forty, or if the
- 27:40Speaker 1: media wasn't all the time like Flaccos thirty eight, Flahs
- 27:43Speaker 1: thirty nine, I don't think you like you. It's almost
- 27:47Speaker 1: like Adrian Peterson when he got hurt. Everybody was then,
- 27:50Speaker 1: oh wow, we can bounce back quicker or ap did
- 27:53Speaker 1: Brady's playing in the forties the guys are playing in
- 27:54Speaker 1: the forties a little more, if it's technology of its health,
- 27:57Speaker 1: if it's education about you know what to do to
- 27:59Speaker 1: their body. But I feel like you don't play like
- 28:02Speaker 1: I would think a forty year old should play.
- 28:04Speaker 5: Like.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Do you feel like taking care of your body is
- 28:07Speaker 1: really paid off at this point in your career because
- 28:09Speaker 1: of that.
- 28:09Speaker 7: I do.
- 28:10Speaker 12: I don't know if I do anything special, but I
- 28:13Speaker 12: think I've been consistent through the course of my career.
- 28:17Speaker 12: I figured out probably within the first three or four
- 28:19Speaker 12: years that I need to come up with a routine
- 28:21Speaker 12: and make it important to me to kind of stay
- 28:24Speaker 12: in shape and get stronger. And I think that the
- 28:27Speaker 12: fact that I've been able to stay consistent is kind
- 28:29Speaker 12: of what's allowed me to keep going. Obviously, you have
- 28:32Speaker 12: to get lucky along the way too. I've dealt with
- 28:34Speaker 12: a couple of little things here and there where maybe
- 28:37Speaker 12: I haven't felt one hundred percent, but I think that
- 28:40Speaker 12: routine has kind of allowed me to get back to
- 28:42Speaker 12: where I could feel good.
- 28:44Speaker 1: Is it weird to play for a new team and
- 28:46Speaker 1: you've done it a couple of times, But when you're
- 28:47Speaker 1: a raven forever and you go in the first time
- 28:49Speaker 1: put on a different color and you look in the mirror.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Is that weird?
- 28:52Speaker 7: It was the.
- 28:53Speaker 12: First time I did it was definitely strange, and I
- 28:55Speaker 12: was a little bit nervous about it. I was kind
- 28:57Speaker 12: of felt like the new kid in class, and you know,
- 28:59Speaker 12: walking in to a locker room for the first time,
- 29:01Speaker 12: and who's the first person you're going to say hello to?
- 29:03Speaker 12: Is it going to be awkward? You know, kind of
- 29:05Speaker 12: having all those weird feelings that you don't know why
- 29:07Speaker 12: you're getting when you're when you're an adult. But I
- 29:10Speaker 12: think after I did it, you kind of realize that
- 29:13Speaker 12: there's a lot of similarities.
- 29:14Speaker 7: In every locker room.
- 29:15Speaker 12: We're all kind of working towards that common goal and
- 29:17Speaker 12: we've kind of been doing it our whole lives. So
- 29:19Speaker 12: there's a lot of similarities that you see from locker
- 29:21Speaker 12: room to locker room. And there's always great guys that
- 29:24Speaker 12: you connect with and can have a lot of fun with.
- 29:26Speaker 1: So what about Stefanski? What is it about him that
- 29:29Speaker 1: brought you back and then brought you back again?
- 29:32Speaker 12: I think Kevin's, you know, a really good play caller,
- 29:36Speaker 12: and I think his demeanor in general is very good
- 29:39Speaker 12: for running a team. The way, he's kind of able to,
- 29:42Speaker 12: you know, stay himself and be the same person throughout
- 29:45Speaker 12: the year kind of no matter what's going on.
- 29:47Speaker 7: I think he's been tested.
- 29:49Speaker 12: You know, he's had some success, and he's had some
- 29:51Speaker 12: seasons where they haven't won as many games as they've
- 29:54Speaker 12: wanted to. And I think that that can really kind
- 29:57Speaker 12: of sharpen who you are as a person and make
- 29:59Speaker 12: you come out better on.
- 30:00Speaker 7: The other side. And I think that's what he's been
- 30:01Speaker 7: able to do.
- 30:02Speaker 1: Can you give me a memory from when the lights
- 30:04Speaker 1: went out in the super Bowl? Because that was weird
- 30:06Speaker 1: for us. I can't imagine you're freaking playing in the
- 30:09Speaker 1: Super Bowl and it all goes down, Like what are
- 30:11Speaker 1: you guys even talking about when that happens?
- 30:13Speaker 12: And I remember sitting on the bench and kind of
- 30:18Speaker 12: the lights go out and you kind of just look around,
- 30:20Speaker 12: like what the heck is going on? I wish I
- 30:23Speaker 12: had more memories of it. It's funny because after the game,
- 30:25Speaker 12: everybody kind of started expressing to me what they thought,
- 30:29Speaker 12: and some people were scared. I mean a lot had
- 30:31Speaker 12: a lot of friends and family that were nervous as
- 30:33Speaker 12: what was going on. And thankfully for me, that never
- 30:36Speaker 12: really crossed my mind. I kind of just took it
- 30:39Speaker 12: for what it was, sat on the ground, stretched out
- 30:41Speaker 12: a little bit. You know, you think it's going to
- 30:43Speaker 12: be two or three minutes. You don't realize it's going
- 30:45Speaker 12: to be twenty or thirty or however long it was.
- 30:47Speaker 12: So I think if I had to guess how my
- 30:51Speaker 12: mindset was, it was probably taking it like every two
- 30:54Speaker 12: or three minutes, thinking they were going to come back
- 30:56Speaker 12: on and we were going to get right back to it.
- 30:59Speaker 1: Playing at pitchurg In College and then Delaware Like, to me,
- 31:02Speaker 1: that's cold weather. Sounds terrible, but you've played in cold
- 31:07Speaker 1: weather places in the NFL for the most part too.
- 31:09Speaker 1: Is that even a thing? Do you even get cold?
- 31:11Speaker 1: Or is that just normal?
- 31:13Speaker 12: There's definitely things about that that are not ideal. I
- 31:17Speaker 12: think you just you put that big code on, you
- 31:20Speaker 12: sit on the heated bench, and you deal with it
- 31:23Speaker 12: for the five ten minutes that you that you're not
- 31:25Speaker 12: sitting on that bench.
- 31:26Speaker 7: But we got it. We got it pretty easy.
- 31:28Speaker 12: The fact that we got guys waiting for us on
- 31:30Speaker 12: the sideline to throw a big coat over us and
- 31:32Speaker 12: sit on a you know, one hundred degree.
- 31:34Speaker 7: Warming bench.
- 31:36Speaker 12: When you're out there playing, you're honestly not thinking about it.
- 31:39Speaker 12: It's like the first thirty seconds that you take that
- 31:41Speaker 12: code off that you're thinking what the hell am I doing?
- 31:43Speaker 12: Or pregame pregame warm ups are actually probably more miserable
- 31:47Speaker 12: than the game because you're like, do I want to
- 31:48Speaker 12: even go out there and warm up? Or do I
- 31:49Speaker 12: just want to kind of hang out in the locker
- 31:51Speaker 12: room and say, say, I'm good, I'll be ready to
- 31:54Speaker 12: go once the game starts.
- 31:55Speaker 1: And in warmups probably no adrenaline, right.
- 31:58Speaker 12: Yeah, exactly, you're not. You're just like, I'm not playing
- 32:01Speaker 12: the game. Why am I going to go out there
- 32:02Speaker 12: and do it to myself? And I don't have to,
- 32:05Speaker 12: So it's a little bit harder mental hurdle to get
- 32:07Speaker 12: a ticket out there for pregame.
- 32:09Speaker 1: At the height of your career or when you will
- 32:11Speaker 1: say that your arm was the healthiest it may even
- 32:13Speaker 1: be now. You ever just chunk a ball to see
- 32:15Speaker 1: how far you could throw a ball, You.
- 32:17Speaker 12: Know, I used to when I was in college, but
- 32:19Speaker 12: like when I was in late college early part of
- 32:23Speaker 12: my career in the NFL, I was probably more interested
- 32:25Speaker 12: in seeing how far I could throw it and doing
- 32:28Speaker 12: some long casts these days. I just kind of do
- 32:31Speaker 12: it to keep my arm in shape. I'm not necessarily
- 32:33Speaker 12: super worried about where I can throw the ball through
- 32:35Speaker 12: the uprights from when people ask me, I always used
- 32:39Speaker 12: to say I can. Probably I could throw it around
- 32:41Speaker 12: seventy five yards. I don't know, maybe give or take
- 32:44Speaker 12: a few yards here and there.
- 32:45Speaker 1: So eighty eighty five.
- 32:47Speaker 12: I honestly, if I could touch eighty, I would probably
- 32:51Speaker 12: say eighty. I don't think I've ever thrown a football
- 32:53Speaker 12: eighty yards unless I would unless I was down on
- 32:55Speaker 12: the Jersey shore on the beach with a forty mile
- 32:58Speaker 12: an hour wins, I wasn't throwing the ball eighty.
- 33:00Speaker 1: So that's a good point, because if I'm lying about
- 33:02Speaker 1: driving a golf ball, I never lie short. I always
- 33:05Speaker 1: or I always estimate a little long. It's like, well,
- 33:07Speaker 1: do you to Yeah, I'm about two sixty five average,
- 33:09Speaker 1: and really it's not that so I guess right, Yeah,
- 33:11Speaker 1: that's a good point. When did you realize in your
- 33:14Speaker 1: youth that you had a really strong arm?
- 33:17Speaker 7: Oh?
- 33:18Speaker 12: I guess growing up on the schoolyard, just kind of
- 33:20Speaker 12: playing two hand touch, I could always throw that little
- 33:23Speaker 12: ball that you know, the little pee wee ball that
- 33:25Speaker 12: kind of everybody plays with. I think, you know, we
- 33:28Speaker 12: might have had a Minnesota Vikings or probably a Philadelphia
- 33:31Speaker 12: Eagles rubber football that we could kind of I could
- 33:33Speaker 12: throw the length of the schoolyard and nobody else could
- 33:35Speaker 12: really do that, so you kind of figure, all right,
- 33:37Speaker 12: I could throw the ball a little bit.
- 33:39Speaker 1: When these guys are getting ready for draft day, draft night,
- 33:43Speaker 1: if it's Night one or second round or third night, like,
- 33:46Speaker 1: what was your draft night?
- 33:47Speaker 7: Like? So I was sitting on my couch in my parents' house.
- 33:53Speaker 12: I really didn't want to let cameras in because I
- 33:55Speaker 12: was unsure about where I was going to be picked,
- 33:57Speaker 12: and just kind of wanted to be more private in general.
- 34:00Speaker 12: But obviously I got talked into, you know, allowing him
- 34:03Speaker 12: to come into the house. And I was just kind
- 34:04Speaker 12: of sitting on the couch and waiting to see what happens.
- 34:07Speaker 12: And we were all watching the draft, excited and kind
- 34:10Speaker 12: of eager to see what was going to happen. But
- 34:12Speaker 12: coming from Delaware, I didn't know if I was going
- 34:14Speaker 12: to be There was a lot of momentum probably behind where.
- 34:16Speaker 7: I was going to be picked.
- 34:17Speaker 12: I felt like I was probably going to be picked
- 34:19Speaker 12: decently high. But I could have been a first round pick.
- 34:22Speaker 12: I could have been a third round pick. I had
- 34:23Speaker 12: no idea, So I was a little bit I was excited, obviously,
- 34:28Speaker 12: because at that point I didn't really care where.
- 34:30Speaker 7: I was going to be picked.
- 34:31Speaker 12: I knew that I was going to be an NFL
- 34:33Speaker 12: draft pick, and I think that was the most exciting thing.
- 34:36Speaker 12: But yeah, there was probably a little bit of uncertainty
- 34:38Speaker 12: in my mind too, because you just don't know where
- 34:40Speaker 12: you're going to go and where you're going to spend
- 34:41Speaker 12: the next you know, you plan on spending the next
- 34:43Speaker 12: fifteen years of your life probably wherever you.
- 34:46Speaker 7: End up getting picked.
- 34:46Speaker 12: So it was, yeah, definitely definitely a little bit of
- 34:51Speaker 12: a mixed feeling is about where that could be.
- 34:53Speaker 1: Who called you?
- 34:54Speaker 7: Ozzie called me.
- 34:56Speaker 12: Ozzie called me, and I think they were I think
- 34:58Speaker 12: they traded up with Houston, I want to say. And
- 35:01Speaker 12: he said, hey, Joe, we're about to you know, we're
- 35:03Speaker 12: about to trade up here with Houston into the eighteenth
- 35:06Speaker 12: pick and select you to become a Baltimore Raven. And
- 35:09Speaker 12: you know, obviously, like the whole room that I was
- 35:12Speaker 12: sitting in kind of went nuts because they were you know,
- 35:14Speaker 12: they realized I was on the phone call and I
- 35:16Speaker 12: was kind of giving them a head nod or whatever
- 35:18Speaker 12: I was doing to let them know, like, hey, it's
- 35:19Speaker 12: about to happen.
- 35:20Speaker 1: How much sleep do you try to get a night?
- 35:24Speaker 7: Right now?
- 35:24Speaker 12: Yeah, we're going to pivot into health.
- 35:29Speaker 7: Man.
- 35:29Speaker 12: I got to tell you there was a time where,
- 35:34Speaker 12: like my kids were younger, and we could actually enjoy
- 35:36Speaker 12: like three hours on the couch, be and my wife
- 35:38Speaker 12: by ourselves from like seven thirty to ten thirty or
- 35:41Speaker 12: eleven o'clock eleven thirty, whatever we wanted to do.
- 35:43Speaker 7: You know, we could put those kids to bed.
- 35:45Speaker 12: But now my kids are getting older, they complain about
- 35:48Speaker 12: bedtime every night.
- 35:49Speaker 7: It's getting pushed, you know, further and further.
- 35:51Speaker 12: Back, And I'm usually knocked out on the couch at
- 35:55Speaker 12: nine o'clock and then at ten fifteen I'm waking up
- 35:58Speaker 12: with my wife going back to bed.
- 36:00Speaker 7: Sleep until six thirty, six forty five every day.
- 36:02Speaker 1: So is there you get to a game, Because there
- 36:05Speaker 1: are mornings if I'm either doing the show or if
- 36:07Speaker 1: i'm even if I'm on touring doing stand up, my
- 36:10Speaker 1: brain I just have brain fog some days and if
- 36:12Speaker 1: I sleep maybe something I eight. You ever get to
- 36:14Speaker 1: the game day and you're like, man, like, I'm just
- 36:16Speaker 1: not fully there and you have to go all right, guys,
- 36:19Speaker 1: my brain's not clicking the right way and need you
- 36:20Speaker 1: to help me out a little bit.
- 36:22Speaker 12: Listen, there's times, Yeah, I don't know about my brain,
- 36:25Speaker 12: but your body definitely wakes up a little bit tired sometimes,
- 36:27Speaker 12: and listen, it's not ideal for us. We're waking up
- 36:30Speaker 12: even if most of the time, even if you're at home,
- 36:34Speaker 12: you're waking up in a hotel. You don't get to
- 36:36Speaker 12: sleep in your own bed, and definitely if you're on
- 36:39Speaker 12: the road, And honestly, I'm not great at falling asleep
- 36:44Speaker 12: and sleeping well. In a hotel. I usually can kind
- 36:48Speaker 12: of turn my mind off and not worry about anything,
- 36:50Speaker 12: and I'm the same way the night before the game.
- 36:52Speaker 12: I'm not really thinking about it. I feel like if
- 36:55Speaker 12: I do have things on my mind, I can actually
- 36:57Speaker 12: relax and go to bed and kind of put it
- 36:58Speaker 12: out of my mind. But just a night's sleep in
- 37:01Speaker 12: a hotel, I've never quite gotten used to it. So
- 37:03Speaker 12: there's always probably a little bit of that.
- 37:05Speaker 1: Three final questions that leads me to that. So do
- 37:07Speaker 1: you stay at home? Do you stay in the same
- 37:09Speaker 1: hotel room, in the same bed to at least have
- 37:11Speaker 1: some sort of consistency.
- 37:13Speaker 7: Man, I've been all over the place the last few years.
- 37:15Speaker 7: I have no idea.
- 37:16Speaker 1: That's a point I've been.
- 37:17Speaker 7: I think, typically, yes, you're you're in the same room all.
- 37:20Speaker 1: Year, like in Baltimore, Let's same room.
- 37:23Speaker 7: Saints, same room, same room.
- 37:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I want the same room, same bed, same channels.
- 37:27Speaker 1: I want to on Channel four when I get there,
- 37:29Speaker 1: like an hotel. I want to have some sort of consistency.
- 37:31Speaker 1: What's the goal of this season?
- 37:33Speaker 12: The goal of this season is to kind of become
- 37:35Speaker 12: part of the team first of all, and then not
- 37:38Speaker 12: you know, I obviously have some expectations of my mind,
- 37:40Speaker 12: but try not to worry about those things. Just want
- 37:42Speaker 12: to go out there and compete and hopefully to be
- 37:45Speaker 12: the guy that's on the field this year and helping
- 37:47Speaker 12: the team win some football games.
- 37:49Speaker 1: So my last question is the video that went viral
- 37:51Speaker 1: of you on the airplane when they call you and
- 37:53Speaker 1: you're putting your bags up in the overhead and it's
- 37:55Speaker 1: like this Joe Flacco, and that's kind of how everybody, Yeah,
- 37:57Speaker 1: what'd you think about that?
- 37:59Speaker 7: I guess I was surprised, but.
- 38:03Speaker 12: I think in this day and age, there's always the
- 38:06Speaker 12: chance at something like that's gonna happen. Obviously, I'm on
- 38:09Speaker 12: a flight to Cleveland in the middle of the season,
- 38:12Speaker 12: and on the flight with people from Cleveland, so they're
- 38:16Speaker 12: probably thinking if they recognize me, they're probably thinking, oh
- 38:19Speaker 12: my god, what's he doing here?
- 38:20Speaker 7: Maybe they're looking to get him.
- 38:22Speaker 12: And I I think I was in the back of
- 38:24Speaker 12: the plane, so people probably thought that was funny and
- 38:26Speaker 12: just kind of random shot of me. It's it's never
- 38:29Speaker 12: the most flattering thing when you're just kind of taking
- 38:31Speaker 12: getting getting candid shots taken of you in the middle
- 38:35Speaker 12: of a run, you know, in the middle of a
- 38:36Speaker 12: walkway on an airplane. But hey, I think it's all
- 38:39Speaker 12: it's all good. It kind of created some some positive
- 38:42Speaker 12: vibes and you know, got everybody excited for whatever reason,
- 38:45Speaker 12: and you know, gotta love that.
- 38:47Speaker 1: Well, I'm rooting for you, man, I'm a fan. I've
- 38:48Speaker 1: been a fan. So congratulations and again, these Clayton's catocks

- 40:13Speaker 1: That somebody asked me my favorite football players of all time?
- 40:15Speaker 1: And I was like, I don't know. I'm not eight.
- 40:17Speaker 5: That's tough.
- 40:18Speaker 1: That's tough, and I not disrespectfully. I was like, I
- 40:21Speaker 1: don't know my favorites would be ever, So I made
- 40:23Speaker 1: my list and I told Eddie tamake his two. So
- 40:27Speaker 1: do you have ten through one of all time?
- 40:30Speaker 5: It is the easiest list, easiest list ever made in
- 40:33Speaker 5: my life.
- 40:33Speaker 1: I got to like four or five, and then I
- 40:36Speaker 1: had to start going, who do I even like? Because
- 40:39Speaker 1: I'm a favorite team.
- 40:40Speaker 5: Yeah. See that's where that's where it helps with me
- 40:42Speaker 5: a lot.
- 40:42Speaker 1: All right, Number ten on your list?
- 40:44Speaker 5: Number ten? Okay, So the lowest Joe Montana.
- 40:47Speaker 1: Should we start at one or ten?
- 40:48Speaker 5: I'd say one, because Joe Montana is like kind of
- 40:51Speaker 5: like I had to throw them down there, because I
- 40:53Speaker 5: cannot put them up any any more than that. So
- 40:54Speaker 5: let's just go. Let's go one.
- 40:55Speaker 1: Do you a favorite first? Okay, favorite player of all time?
- 40:58Speaker 5: Emmitt Smith? Baby, I mean, come on.
- 41:01Speaker 1: Did you get a picture of you and em I did?
- 41:04Speaker 5: Got yeah? Yeah, yeah, read give me a picture of
- 41:06Speaker 5: me in em it And you know the conversations that
- 41:08Speaker 5: we had, the fact that he said, like, Edie's not
- 41:10Speaker 5: a good athlete because I'd broken my arm. That's pretty cool.
- 41:13Speaker 1: Yeah, he's nice because.
- 41:14Speaker 5: Somebody had asked, like, Edy, what happened to your arm?
- 41:16Speaker 5: He's like, don't ask him. He's just not an athlete.
- 41:17Speaker 5: He's an idiot.
- 41:18Speaker 1: It's pretty cool. You got to meet your favorite, dude,
- 41:21Speaker 1: that's so free because I haven't got to meet my favorite.
- 41:23Speaker 1: And I'll tell you mine in a minute in real life. Yeah,
- 41:25Speaker 1: but favorite football players of all time? Ms Smith? Number one,
- 41:28Speaker 1: Number two.
- 41:28Speaker 5: Troy Aikman. All of favorite Troy Aikman.
- 41:31Speaker 1: Now these are cowboys. Just wait for the list. Okay,
- 41:38Speaker 1: quarterback Troy Aikman.
- 41:39Speaker 5: Yeah, number three.
- 41:40Speaker 1: Why Troy made just because he was a quarterback when
- 41:42Speaker 1: they're winning.
- 41:42Speaker 5: Yeah, dude, Troyman brought me so much happiness okay. Three
- 41:46Speaker 5: Michael Lerman number eighty eight, the King of number eighty eight.
- 41:50Speaker 5: He is the original O gen Well maybe Drew Pearson was,
- 41:53Speaker 5: but for.
- 41:54Speaker 1: As long as I remember, he's your number eighty, he's
- 41:56Speaker 1: my eighty eight okay.
- 41:57Speaker 5: And four DeMarcus where I mean, did you ever meet
- 42:01Speaker 5: de Marcus?
- 42:01Speaker 1: I did. I introduced him at the game right.
- 42:02Speaker 5: The Cowboys at the Cowboys game.
- 42:04Speaker 1: He's a monster and.
- 42:05Speaker 5: He's like, you have his number?
- 42:06Speaker 1: Right? Like, oh yeah? We text sometimes.
- 42:08Speaker 5: That's pretty cool.
- 42:09Speaker 1: So we have a relationship because we had trauma bonding.
- 42:14Speaker 1: We did Dancing with the Stars together, yeah, and then
- 42:16Speaker 1: we would go train together in the same room sometimes.
- 42:19Speaker 1: And he was in my final dance. Like you ask
- 42:21Speaker 1: your friends if sometimes you do, they'll be like, hey,
- 42:24Speaker 1: you want to be in the final dance? Sometimes people
- 42:25Speaker 1: just want to show off their dance moves. I did,
- 42:27Speaker 1: and I just wanted to like get through it, and
- 42:28Speaker 1: so I asked him Mark, I said, hey, do you
- 42:30Speaker 1: want to be in my final dance? And he was
- 42:31Speaker 1: like yeah, and he lifted me above his head and
- 42:32Speaker 1: the dance. He's awesome, like great guy, but a monster,
- 42:36Speaker 1: him barreling down on you as another human. You see
- 42:39Speaker 1: that guy, that big, that fast, hitting you that hard on.
- 42:43Speaker 5: The football field.
- 42:44Speaker 1: Yeah, wow, crazy.
- 42:46Speaker 5: It's funny you say that because the yeah, the on
- 42:49Speaker 5: the dance when the stars funny. He picked you up.
- 42:52Speaker 5: But then also when you saw him in person, he
- 42:55Speaker 5: hugged you and picked you up. So he's kind of
- 42:57Speaker 5: that thing like, which is awesome because like you're my
- 42:59Speaker 5: best friend. And then I love DeMarcus Ware and he
- 43:01Speaker 5: came like Bobby Boss and he picked you up. I'm like, dude,
- 43:04Speaker 5: that is so freaking cool. Bobby knows him like that.
- 43:06Speaker 1: He's so lovable, like such a wonderful guy. I wonder
- 43:09Speaker 1: did you root for him when he went to the
- 43:10Speaker 1: Broncos to win?
- 43:11Speaker 5: Yeah, any anybody that was good to the Cowboys, I
- 43:14Speaker 5: root for him anywhere they go. Charles Haley, like, you know,
- 43:17Speaker 5: same deal. Root for him other teams.
- 43:21Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that's a good one to there are
- 43:23Speaker 1: sometimes I don't root for people to switch teams, but.
- 43:25Speaker 5: It depends how they left. Yeah right, Yeah. Next, Tony
- 43:29Speaker 5: dor Set old school. I mean he when I was
- 43:32Speaker 5: a child, he was the running back. He was awesome.
- 43:36Speaker 5: Five that's the number five, Yeah, and then number six
- 43:41Speaker 5: herschel herschel Walker, but mainly because he because of herschel
- 43:45Speaker 5: Walker in him being traded to the Minnesota Vikings. All that, dude,
- 43:50Speaker 5: we got all those picks and we got Troy Aigman,
- 43:52Speaker 5: we got Michael Lorvan, we got Emmitt Smith, and we
- 43:54Speaker 5: won three Super Bowls out of that.
- 43:55Speaker 1: So your favorite player is a trade.
- 43:57Speaker 6: Yeah, the value of your favorite.
- 43:59Speaker 5: Player totally because he was awesome in himself as a player,
- 44:03Speaker 5: but when he left and got traded, it was it
- 44:06Speaker 5: changed everything for Dallas Cowboys fans.
- 44:09Speaker 1: But it's not herschel Walker as the player. He was
- 44:12Speaker 1: still awesome though, hershel Walker, I agree he was awesome.
- 44:14Speaker 5: So yeah, he's one of my favorite players.
- 44:16Speaker 1: Fair enough. I'll not argue there were no rules act.
- 44:19Speaker 5: Ceed Lamb the next number eighty eight, Well skipping does
- 44:22Speaker 5: Bryant ce d Lamb? When he got drafted. You talk
- 44:25Speaker 5: about like moments when someone got drafted and you're really
- 44:28Speaker 5: excited about it. That was it.
- 44:31Speaker 1: Yeah, from Oklahoma, Oklahoma.
- 44:33Speaker 5: And I'll never forget it. When the Cowboys, because I
- 44:35Speaker 5: mean Cowboys notoriously don't ever draft big names for some reason.
- 44:39Speaker 5: It's always like okay, cool, I guess we didn't need
- 44:41Speaker 5: that lineman. Don't really know who he is, but we'll
- 44:43Speaker 5: take him.
- 44:44Speaker 1: You see where he spends a million bucks a year
- 44:46Speaker 1: on the body. That's where he came out with, oh,
- 44:47Speaker 1: a million dollars. I think it's like fifty thousand dollars
- 44:49Speaker 1: every two weeks or something. And he's like, well, when
- 44:53Speaker 1: you do you have a red light therapy. He does
- 44:55Speaker 1: the red light therapy, sauna, bed, whatever the thing is.
- 44:58Speaker 1: He has a sauna, has does body work people. He's like,
- 45:02Speaker 1: it's about million bucks a year, but it's like an
- 45:04Speaker 1: investment so he can continue to make the millions of dollars.
- 45:06Speaker 1: Lebron was the one, the first famous one that would
- 45:09Speaker 1: talk about how much he's spent to keep himself healthy.
- 45:12Speaker 1: But Ceedeelam wasn't like flexing on it. Somebody had asked him.
- 45:15Speaker 1: But he's like, I spent on a million bucks a
- 45:16Speaker 1: year and Lebron's still playing. Yeah, and he's forty forty eight.
- 45:19Speaker 1: It's not just playing. He'll probably be second team All NBA.
- 45:23Speaker 1: And that's not All Star team, all start team's voting.
- 45:25Speaker 1: And sometimes weird, I was get into that big sniff
- 45:27Speaker 1: on the microphone there.
- 45:28Speaker 5: Yep.
- 45:30Speaker 1: The fact that Lebron's forty and his second team all
- 45:33Speaker 1: NBA is wildretty amazing. Okay, next up eight, number eight,
- 45:37Speaker 1: Michael Parsons all time. I mean, so it's nine and
- 45:41Speaker 1: a forty nine er. He did nine cowboys in a
- 45:44Speaker 1: forty nine. That's funny.
- 45:45Speaker 5: No, No, I got one more. I think I think
- 45:47Speaker 5: Michael Parson's eight.
- 45:48Speaker 1: I know, yeah, but I'm saying the next one is
- 45:49Speaker 1: probably a cowboy and it's probably nine.
- 45:50Speaker 5: And know that.
- 45:51Speaker 1: Okay, Who's nine?
- 45:52Speaker 5: Tony Romo baby, Okay, number nine, Tony Romo, so number
- 45:57Speaker 5: nine and then Jo Romo's lower yeah higher, Yeah, man,
- 46:01Speaker 5: there are a lot of pain in the Romo years.
- 46:03Speaker 1: I thought Quincy Carter would make it.
- 46:08Speaker 5: John KIDTNA.
- 46:09Speaker 1: Quincy Carter was drafted for Georgia. He was he was
- 46:11Speaker 1: up next guy, That's what we thought. He yeah, yeah,
- 46:15Speaker 1: did you do a list?
- 46:16Speaker 6: No?
- 46:16Speaker 1: Okay, I have my top ten here. Number one. I
- 46:20Speaker 1: have not met him in person, only on zoom. Do
- 46:23Speaker 1: you know who my favorite NFL player is? Yeah, Boomers
- 46:26Speaker 1: Bloomers because he was a left handed quarterback, and since
- 46:30Speaker 1: I didn't have a team, I kind of adopted the
- 46:31Speaker 1: Bengals because he had a left handed quarterback and their
- 46:34Speaker 1: helmets were cool. That's literally it.
- 46:36Speaker 5: The helmets are awesome. Yeah, still are awesome, by the way,
- 46:38Speaker 5: But you're not a Bengals fan. No, don't have left
- 46:42Speaker 5: an quarterback anymore. It don't.
- 46:44Speaker 1: Number two Darren McFadden Arkansas playing played you know, Raiders
- 46:50Speaker 1: and Cowboys, and that was strictly I rolled with him that.
- 46:53Speaker 1: My personal connection is from Arkansas to in the NFL.
- 46:56Speaker 1: I think had he been on better teams, he'd had
- 47:00Speaker 1: a much better, highly productive career because he was a
- 47:05Speaker 1: really good he had bad teams.
- 47:06Speaker 5: Did you see him play as a razorback?
- 47:08Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, a couple of times. Number three Steve Young.
- 47:13Speaker 5: Did that change because you did meet him?
- 47:15Speaker 1: No left handed quarterback, of course, left handed quarterback in
- 47:19Speaker 1: those years when I had to find because I was
- 47:21Speaker 1: playing quarterback when I was young young mostly just because
- 47:24Speaker 1: I was smart. It wasn't even anything else, Like I
- 47:26Speaker 1: just knew what play, like here's the play to call.
- 47:28Speaker 1: I could run the play, and so when you're that age,
- 47:30Speaker 1: that's really it's just knowing out at what play, where
- 47:33Speaker 1: to hand the ball right. But Steve Young is left
- 47:35Speaker 1: hand quarterback. I thought it was so cool there weren't many,
- 47:37Speaker 1: so Steve Young was number three. I mean, if I
- 47:41Speaker 1: like in real life, he'd be up there probably one
- 47:42Speaker 1: after like after yeah yeah, but I'm weighing in all time,
- 47:46Speaker 1: like from childhood and now everything. Number fourth, Peyton Manning.
- 47:51Speaker 1: I loved Peyton Manning. I just loved the Peyton Manning
- 47:54Speaker 1: went out and ran the whole offense, and his offensive
- 47:56Speaker 1: coordinator was like his peer. It wasn't like the guy
- 47:58Speaker 1: that was giving him everything. It was like his peer.
- 48:00Speaker 1: He worked alongside, but he ran the show. He was
- 48:03Speaker 1: a freaking sheriff in that locker room. On the field,
- 48:05Speaker 1: I think Peyton Manning if you were if there weren't championships,
- 48:09Speaker 1: I think Peytonnnings probably the greatest quarterback ever. But because
- 48:12Speaker 1: there are championships, Tom Brady is and a vacuum thoughing.
- 48:15Speaker 1: It's like you have one quarterback and you need quarterback
- 48:18Speaker 1: to throw for a bunch of yards, to read deefenses to.
- 48:20Speaker 1: It's Peyton Manning.
- 48:21Speaker 5: What era of Peyton Manning is your favorite?
- 48:24Speaker 1: Not the Bronco era because his neck was hurt. Yeah, Colts,
- 48:27Speaker 1: he did win. He was a super Bowl champion there,
- 48:29Speaker 1: yeah yeah, but not year one. He think it to
- 48:31Speaker 1: eighteen interceptions. Yeah, like a rookie record for it. Picks
- 48:35Speaker 1: Peyton mannings number four. Dean Sanders is at five.
- 48:37Speaker 4: Yes.
- 48:38Speaker 1: I loved Dion as a player too because he played
- 48:41Speaker 1: both ways enough. He didn't play a lot of wide receiver,
- 48:45Speaker 1: but he did some, so there was always the is
- 48:48Speaker 1: he gonna play wide receiver? But he did return kick
- 48:51Speaker 1: some punts, of course, and that was awesome. So shutdown corner,
- 48:55Speaker 1: which I didn't really appreciate till later because they didn't
- 48:58Speaker 1: show the shutdown corner on television, shutting down because they
- 49:01Speaker 1: don't really it's not that wide. They don't really put
- 49:03Speaker 1: someone on. That's just keeping the ball from being thrown
- 49:05Speaker 1: there because the camera follows the ball. But he was
- 49:08Speaker 1: high profile. He wore the glasses, the chains, and.
- 49:10Speaker 5: Then he did his little hop into the end zone.
- 49:12Speaker 6: Yes, he wasn't on yours, Eddie.
- 49:14Speaker 5: I thought about putting him on there, but you know,
- 49:16Speaker 5: I thought I gave DeMarcus Whare that that's fun.
- 49:19Speaker 1: Wait, so that doesn't make sense. You put to Marx
- 49:21Speaker 1: for all like five? Well here, but here's the Dean
- 49:22Speaker 1: was gonna be five or nothing. Dion wasn't a cowboy
- 49:25Speaker 1: for a long time. He shared a lot of time
- 49:28Speaker 1: with with a lot of other teams, So that's kind
- 49:29Speaker 1: of why I didn't put I think of him in
- 49:31Speaker 1: my close my eyes. I think I was a cowboy.
- 49:34Speaker 6: Really, yeah, I do too.
- 49:36Speaker 4: Well.
- 49:36Speaker 5: He didn't play for Atlanta Hawks, sorry Atlanta Falcons. Yeah,
- 49:40Speaker 5: they're both birds in your eyes, dude, just playing tricks
- 49:42Speaker 5: on you. They're both birds.
- 49:44Speaker 1: I think of Deon Sanders football, cowboys baseball breaks, even
- 49:49Speaker 1: though that was the same time he's played with Atlantic
- 49:51Speaker 1: because he could do both. But Deon Sanders at number five,
- 49:56Speaker 1: at number six, Tom Brady nice. I admire consistency first
- 50:03Speaker 1: of all. I admire consistency and greatness at the same time.
- 50:10Speaker 1: Most of all, it's so hard to be consistent, impossible
- 50:15Speaker 1: to be consistently great. Now, that doesn't mean every year,
- 50:19Speaker 1: but dude won seven freaking Super Bowls. He's pretty consistent
- 50:22Speaker 1: that he was consistently in the mix to be in
- 50:27Speaker 1: the mix to win a title every year. So as
- 50:31Speaker 1: I'm watching him, I root it for Peyton Manning every
- 50:33Speaker 1: time they played each other. But as I've gotten older
- 50:37Speaker 1: in the light latter years of Tom Brady being an
- 50:40Speaker 1: adult and just seeing how consistent, how thorough he was
- 50:44Speaker 1: with the things that weren't even football, the eating, the training,
- 50:48Speaker 1: developing his own system for him the flight. Got to
- 50:51Speaker 1: admire that consistency is currency to me in every part
- 50:55Speaker 1: of my life. And so Tom Brady comes to at
- 50:56Speaker 1: number six for that. It's not even that I'm a fan.
- 51:00Speaker 1: I like the Patriots too when they were winning, not
- 51:02Speaker 1: that I was a Patriots fan, but I just admired
- 51:04Speaker 1: how they consistently cheated.
- 51:06Speaker 5: Yeah they did.
- 51:07Speaker 6: I think you're a different way. No one consistently won.
- 51:11Speaker 5: Yeah, No, I I do like it.
- 51:14Speaker 1: And they were always in the mix to be in
- 51:15Speaker 1: the mix even when they weren't, even when Brady goes
- 51:17Speaker 1: down and Castle goes in. Yeah, they didn't make the playoffs,
- 51:21Speaker 1: but it was the very last game of the season,
- 51:22Speaker 1: after they had already played, when they realized they didn't
- 51:24Speaker 1: make the playoffs, they had won eleven game. So Tom
- 51:29Speaker 1: Brady at number six. Our lists are so different again
- 51:32Speaker 1: because I don't have a team. Yeah, and minor for
- 51:34Speaker 1: like very personal, like human like the two left handed quarterbacks,
- 51:38Speaker 1: the Arkansas guy, and so far a lot of quarterbacks,
- 51:41Speaker 1: mostly quarterbacks. Two gets shown the most, Patrick Mahomes at
- 51:45Speaker 1: seven and I could put that back on the Brady.
- 51:48Speaker 1: That's the junior varsity Brady version of that. And I
- 51:51Speaker 1: like Patrick Mahomes two because his little belly, Yeah, now
- 51:55Speaker 1: he looks like it.
- 51:56Speaker 7: Now.
- 51:56Speaker 1: He looks like a warrior. I said this last year
- 51:58Speaker 1: when he lost, like you didn'tiss him off. He's going
- 52:00Speaker 1: to train this offseason and be physically better than he's
- 52:04Speaker 1: ever been. If you've seen pictures of him, have you, No,
- 52:07Speaker 1: I don't google that. Oh my god, he looks like
- 52:11Speaker 1: a soldier really, yeah, you know with.
- 52:14Speaker 5: Their uniforms on now, with their rib pad thing you know,
- 52:17Speaker 5: around their other or other kind of like midsection kind
- 52:20Speaker 5: of makes them all look a little.
- 52:21Speaker 1: It does, because that thing pokes out.
- 52:23Speaker 5: A little bit.
- 52:23Speaker 6: But that's more than others, I feel like for sure.
- 52:25Speaker 1: But if you look at Patrick Mahomes now and you
- 52:27Speaker 1: see like his it's not even camp time, but it's
- 52:30Speaker 1: just off season workouts, you can tell physically he's been
- 52:35Speaker 1: motivated to be physical. Pretty wild. I love my homes
- 52:39Speaker 1: Ikey would's eight oh other Bengal in my bank, in
- 52:42Speaker 1: my Bengal days. I like that he would dance when
- 52:45Speaker 1: he's score touchdown, the shuffle that's all it was about.
- 52:48Speaker 1: Do you remember those are commercials? Like I don't know
- 52:50Speaker 1: the last question, ye'd like a Geico commercial or something.
- 52:53Speaker 1: I don't remember.
- 52:53Speaker 5: But he's buying meat.
- 52:54Speaker 1: Yeah, he would that guy.
- 52:56Speaker 6: Yeah, he like drops a turkey or something, does something
- 52:58Speaker 6: like that.
- 52:59Speaker 1: So, and that's only because when I like the Bengals,
- 53:01Speaker 1: he was the running back that danced and I liked that.
- 53:03Speaker 6: That's cool, dude.
- 53:04Speaker 5: And they used to wear these shoulder pads that were
- 53:06Speaker 5: so big. He looked like a monster coming at you as.
- 53:10Speaker 1: A running back.
- 53:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 53:11Speaker 1: Oh just wait for my number ten though, at number nine,
- 53:13Speaker 1: John Elway. And here's why he won at the end finally,
- 53:21Speaker 1: and I think that's pretty cool. He hung in there
- 53:25Speaker 1: and got himself a couple he went to yeah, back
- 53:28Speaker 1: to back, yeah, at the very end, right, and then
- 53:30Speaker 1: he walked out. He was like he's like I'm done.
- 53:33Speaker 1: Like he was the guy I remember he too, maybe
- 53:36Speaker 1: the first player that was drafted was like, I don't
- 53:38Speaker 1: want to go play for that team. I'll go play
- 53:39Speaker 1: for the Yankees and baseball. He was that kind of
- 53:41Speaker 1: athlete who who was the Broncos he got drafted by
- 53:43Speaker 1: well that's he didn't get drafted by the Broncosay, so
- 53:46Speaker 1: they ended.
- 53:46Speaker 5: Up bolt Maybe dang, that's balls.
- 53:49Speaker 1: Maybe feels like it's the cults.
- 53:53Speaker 6: I think that would was still Baltimore and.
- 53:55Speaker 1: He was saying, you can draft me, but I'm going
- 53:57Speaker 1: to go play baseball if you do. And that later
- 54:00Speaker 1: happened with Eli Manning and the Chargers when they drafted
- 54:02Speaker 1: the Eli Manning.
- 54:04Speaker 7: Uh so, Yeah, it was a.
- 54:05Speaker 6: Colts Baltimore colts Man.
- 54:07Speaker 5: That quarterback class of like you know, Drew John Elway
- 54:11Speaker 5: and Dan Marino and eighty three Joe Montana like crazy.
- 54:14Speaker 1: And at number ten Mike all Stott, nice big shoulder pads,
- 54:19Speaker 1: huge older pads, and a white guy who was a
- 54:22Speaker 1: running back and you didn't see many white guys are
- 54:25Speaker 1: running backs. You're like, that looks weird. Yep, You're like,
- 54:28Speaker 1: he can't be that fast, but he just ran through people.
- 54:30Speaker 10: He was cool.
- 54:31Speaker 1: Yeah, a white guy running back still looks funny.
- 54:33Speaker 5: I'm like, I'm like, he hain'te that good, even even McCaffrey.
- 54:36Speaker 1: Yeah, well McCaffrey, but even Arizona State. Oh yeah, yeah,
- 54:41Speaker 1: sattaboo skataboo. I'm like, I wouldn't draft him. He ain't
- 54:44Speaker 1: that good. He's white. I hold that he gets people.
- 54:46Speaker 1: I hope that he gets them running back to if
- 54:47Speaker 1: they're white, well they get part, get part, Yeah, Toby,
- 54:50Speaker 1: Toby like Minnesota to you.
- 54:52Speaker 6: Yeah yeah, yeah uh so.
- 54:54Speaker 1: And also Peyton Hillis who was on the Mountain, who
- 54:58Speaker 1: was on the cover of Madden but had like two
- 55:00Speaker 1: really good years like won me a Fantasy league or two.
- 55:03Speaker 1: Never forget it, and I would never.
- 55:05Speaker 7: I thought it was awesome.
- 55:06Speaker 1: Thought that was awesome. So that's fun. Who's your favorite
- 55:09Speaker 1: of all time?
- 55:09Speaker 5: Kevin? Oh, come on, nah, I.
- 55:13Speaker 11: Know you think probably Tom Brady the problem that's too
- 55:15Speaker 11: easy though, Like, honestly, my favorite football player of all
- 55:19Speaker 11: time is Randy Moss.
- 55:21Speaker 6: I love Randy Moss.
- 55:22Speaker 11: And when he came to the Patriots, I was so
- 55:23Speaker 11: happy because as a kid watching him, he was like
- 55:26Speaker 11: I remember being in the yard and be like, oh,
- 55:27Speaker 11: you just got Moss and I try to make a
- 55:29Speaker 11: catch over somebody.
- 55:30Speaker 6: So Randy Moss was my favorite football player of all time.
- 55:32Speaker 1: I mean, my kids still say you got Moss because
- 55:35Speaker 1: it's now a thing that they do on Sports Center.
- 55:38Speaker 5: Yeah, but it's great because I mean I feel like
- 55:41Speaker 5: it'll last forever because My kids have no idea who
- 55:44Speaker 5: Randy Moss is, have no idea what he did, who
- 55:46Speaker 5: he played for. But whenever they get Moss, they're like,
- 55:48Speaker 5: oh you got Moss.
- 55:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I think even if you don't know Randy Moss existed,
- 55:54Speaker 1: that has now been turned into what that. It's like, Yeah,
- 55:56Speaker 1: you can't shoot a paperwad to the trash can without yelling, Oh,
- 56:01Speaker 1: even if you don't know, I think if I shoot
- 56:04Speaker 1: at the trash can, I just y'all, Kobe, I want
- 56:06Speaker 1: to play a club for you here. So NBA guard
- 56:10Speaker 1: I used to play. Jeremy Lamb was on this podcast
- 56:13Speaker 1: called Run Your Race. This is so interesting and so
- 56:18Speaker 1: Kevin Martin played for the thunder Kings. And what I
- 56:24Speaker 1: think is so interesting about him is that I didn't
- 56:26Speaker 1: know this un till I watched it. He kind of
- 56:28Speaker 1: was really good, but he didn't want to be too good.
- 56:32Speaker 1: And then I'm like, well, why is it gonna be
- 56:33Speaker 1: too good? Listen to this club again. This is Jeremy
- 56:35Speaker 1: Lamb talking about Kevin Martin.
- 56:37Speaker 5: Back in the day, I got traded with what's the name.
- 56:40Speaker 3: Kevin Martin says like the second quarter and say he
- 56:43Speaker 3: got like nineteen points he'll look up and be like,
- 56:47Speaker 3: I got too many points. I'm sitting there like, what
- 56:50Speaker 3: what do you mean? You got too many points? He like,
- 56:51Speaker 3: I got too many points. If I keep scoring, then
- 56:56Speaker 3: they gonna make me.
- 56:57Speaker 5: An All Star.
- 56:57Speaker 3: I want my time to myself.
- 57:00Speaker 1: Hmm.
- 57:00Speaker 3: I'm sitting there like what.
- 57:02Speaker 1: Yeah, because when you become the main guy, you got
- 57:04Speaker 1: a lot of obligations. He didn't want to go off
- 57:07Speaker 1: to do All Star Weekend a week He's like and
- 57:09Speaker 1: then they talked because he played with like Durant on
- 57:12Speaker 1: that okay Harden, Yeah, and he he would be scoring
- 57:16Speaker 1: a lot. It's like, ah, it's so unheard of. Yeah,
- 57:21Speaker 1: crazy wild. It feels like in other elements. The guy
- 57:24Speaker 1: that played Lincoln Mike, the method actor Daniel d Lewis. Yeah,
- 57:27Speaker 1: Like dude just goes and lives like small but even
- 57:31Speaker 1: as not even as an actor. He just like lives
- 57:33Speaker 1: in some small shock all the time, like get to
- 57:37Speaker 1: you know, he doesn't want to be so famous and
- 57:39Speaker 1: you can't call him by his real name.
- 57:40Speaker 6: You have to call him Abraham Lincoln.
- 57:41Speaker 1: Whenever he's method acting. But he doesn't want to be
- 57:44Speaker 1: so famous, so he doesn't do a lot of massive
- 57:46Speaker 1: thing he just really do his he's so good has
- 57:48Speaker 1: his career. He doesn't want to be so famous that
- 57:51Speaker 1: he if it gets in the way of his career
- 57:53Speaker 1: or he can't live a life because of his career
- 57:57Speaker 1: the way he likes to live it. Same thing here,
- 58:00Speaker 1: Kevin Martin, you know, want to.
- 58:01Speaker 5: Be that good.
- 58:02Speaker 1: He was that good, but he didn't want to be
- 58:05Speaker 1: so good that he would then have to lose his
- 58:06Speaker 1: time for All Star Weekend, would have to be the
- 58:08Speaker 1: face of the franchise, more photo shoots more so He's like,
- 58:10Speaker 1: I'm just gonna be so good that gets me through it.
- 58:13Speaker 1: I'm still considered a big part of the team, gonna
- 58:16Speaker 1: have a job, gonna get paid well. But I don't
- 58:19Speaker 1: want to be that good. I respect that you got
- 58:22Speaker 1: I respect it. I'm not that No. No, I'd rather
- 58:25Speaker 1: have the All Star label them all the money, and
- 58:27Speaker 1: I want to go do All Star Weekend. But even
- 58:29Speaker 1: the baseball players that we know, they would be like, man,
- 58:32Speaker 1: all Star game sucks. It's fun the first time because
- 58:35Speaker 1: you're like wow, but you just your body hurts, not
- 58:38Speaker 1: the time off. You just kind of don't want to
- 58:40Speaker 1: have to go do it, but you don't play lesser,
- 58:42Speaker 1: so you don't have to do it. But it's kind
- 58:44Speaker 1: of blown away by that. That's really that's pretty funny.
- 58:49Speaker 1: Does your kids watch any of the draft?
- 58:51Speaker 5: Adding? It's awesome, dude. I'm so proud of my kids
- 58:54Speaker 5: because I feel like I'm raising them right. So as
- 58:57Speaker 5: they watched the draft, know, well, so my eleven year
- 58:59Speaker 5: old he loves the like he's the biggest Cowboys fan.
- 59:02Speaker 1: He's just like me.
- 59:03Speaker 5: And he had to go to a camp like a
- 59:05Speaker 5: school camp, and so he's like, Dad, please record the
- 59:08Speaker 5: draft for me. I'm gonna miss it. And they're like
- 59:10Speaker 5: an hour away from town or whatever. Well, last night
- 59:13Speaker 5: I got a text from one of the dads. He said, dude,
- 59:15Speaker 5: your son's a baller. He said, yeah, he's like, your
- 59:19Speaker 5: son's a baller. I'm like, what did he do? Is
- 59:21Speaker 5: he in trouble? He's like no, he got the whole
- 59:24Speaker 5: camp to sign off on watching the draft. So we're
- 59:27Speaker 5: all here watching the draft. My man, like all the
- 59:31Speaker 5: camp leaders are just like all right, we put it
- 59:34Speaker 5: on TV.
- 59:35Speaker 1: Most proud dad moment is his son getting other kids
- 59:37Speaker 1: to watch the draft.
- 59:38Speaker 5: I got a little tear, like that's my boy? Was
- 59:41Speaker 5: it for the Cowboys or was it just for the NFL.
- 59:43Speaker 5: Is he a Cowboys kid? He's a Cowboys kid. But
- 59:45Speaker 5: he wanted to watch the whole draft. He loves the
- 59:47Speaker 5: first round of the draft, every single pick.
- 59:50Speaker 1: First round's fun, it was entertaining. I will not be
- 59:53Speaker 1: dedicated to watching the rest. I will check in with
- 59:56Speaker 1: the rest. I'll probably watch the first few picks of
- 59:58Speaker 1: the second round. The second round'll be fine because of
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: all the quarterbacks and running backs, like there's a we're
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: about to have a big quarterback, big running back run. Yeah,
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: there are no more linemen that Every line was drafted.
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: Every lineman was drafted. Thank you, guys. I hope you
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: have a great weekend. If you don't mind, go subscribe
