- 0:00And how you've tied that in with what you do?
- 0:04When I had my breast cancer, it was as I told you, it was a tiny
- 0:07one, but I had to do right. I took just a part of the
- 0:10breast. I did register to see a simple
- 0:13thing. And then a friend of mine said I
- 0:15have this energy, doctor, that you should see.
- 0:19And I thought, OK, I'm good, what I'm going to see out of
- 0:21curiosity. And I loved it and I love the
- 0:25way the crystals. He opened my chakras.
- 0:28I have never heard of chakras before.
- 0:30So he start telling me all the things that I didn't know and
- 0:34that I love. And I when I left this role, I
- 0:38was floating and one thing that I always understood and I start
- 0:42doing meditation, going to meditation places from Brahma
- 0:46Kumaris in Brazil. Brahma Kumaris is from India,
- 0:49but they have this philosophy that was in Brazil and one thing
- 0:53that he taught us was that everything that starts in your
- 0:56thought, it goes to your words and transforms into action.
- 1:01So if you have a positive thoughts, it goes into your
- 1:04positive words that transforms into positive actions.
- 1:07So if you have a negative thought, it goes the same way.
- 1:11So successful people and I had seen it, they always have be the
- 1:16best and dramatic thing. They always see the positive
- 1:19side of everything. If you that's the energy
- 1:24speaking, you have a positive energy towards the outcome
- 1:29that's coming to you and you change it.
- 1:32You change the outcome because when you're not so embedded in
- 1:35negativity in yourself and people recognize that you are a
- 1:40positive person, like you are always smiling, Terry, it's
- 1:43amazing. No, it is because you're a very
- 1:46positive person and you try to take the best of everybody and
- 1:51that is important. So when I'm telling this,
- 1:54because when I interview, as soon as a headhunter and I got
- 1:57there and the guy was or the girl guys, just a form of saying
- 2:01was how it was. That company was a nightmare and
- 2:05it happened and this happened and it's so depressing to listen
- 2:09to that. And I was thinking, I said, wow,
- 2:12first thing that I was to say, you cannot say these things.
- 2:16All the positivity that you had from this company, I know the
- 2:19last time, because if you were interviewing for a different
- 2:22company is because you're not happy where you are.
- 2:25But how about the other year, the year before?
- 2:28How did you get there? How positive it was?
- 2:30And then of course, people change and everything changes
- 2:33and you get to a loop that you don't like.
- 2:37Then it's time to go. It's time to leave the circle.
- 2:41We have a light pole inside companies and you start seeing
- 2:46it when everything starts to go wrong.
- 2:50Red flag, it's time to go. I don't know.
- 2:53Oh yeah, because everything. Starts.
- 2:55To go wrong. That's like a wider name.
- 2:57Just when you move, this is done.
- 2:59This is. That's very interesting.
- 3:11And welcome to this week's Genius Zone.
- 3:14And boy, oh boy, I know my community is going to love this
- 3:19one because there are so many people that are wanting to be
- 3:24incredibly powerful leaders, coaches, They are wanting to
- 3:30develop their business. Some people are transitioning
- 3:34from Korea. Some people are being laid off.
- 3:37We are living in a crazy world. And you know what?
- 3:41We have a incredibly almost, I would call them
- 3:46unarchitecturally engineered for business.
- 3:50This is the lovely business coach, Maggie Castro.
- 3:54Hello, Maggie, How are you? Hello.
- 3:57Hi, Terry. Thank you for having me.
- 3:59I'm great. Wow, that is so good.
- 4:02And let's start off by finding out whereabouts are you in this
- 4:06world and where have you come from?
- 4:10Right now I'm in London. I live here with my husband.
- 4:13I'm from Brazil, so but. And you've had an exciting life
- 4:20and you've really one of the things that I have heard you
- 4:25say, which I think front up, I'm going to say this to people and
- 4:30that is that there is a big component in business that is
- 4:38aligned to your success. And you said it beautifully.
- 4:42It's nuts with an A and what is it?
- 4:47Is energy. And yeah, tell us why energy is
- 4:51so important for the person in their business.
- 4:57I always say I haven't been in business for so many years.
- 5:01I started in multinationals. I became the president of Kodak
- 5:05for a cluster of countries in Latin America.
- 5:07Then I became a headhunter and today I'm a business coach.
- 5:11Throughout my career, I always saw that energy comes first.
- 5:16It probably all of you have seen it.
- 5:18When you are in a meeting, you can, if I can see, you can see
- 5:22who is stressed, who is insecure, you know who is
- 5:27relaxed, you know the meat is going to be fine and who is
- 5:31really in a tensing mode. Your energy comes first and for
- 5:36you to deliver the right message, it's always good for
- 5:40you to be in your relaxed mode because everything flows in the
- 5:45way it has to flow. You transmit the message you
- 5:48want to transmit. So.
- 5:55So I was saying that everything is energy.
- 5:58So we are all surrounded by and affected by someone else's
- 6:03energy. And I think we have to keep our
- 6:06energy in a good state of mind all the time.
- 6:11Terry, to answer your question, yes, it is energy.
- 6:16How we start this? I tell you the world of
- 6:20technology, and it usually means that it's going to be a very
- 6:23powerful broadcast. Wow.
- 6:25So you've been really involved in everything from being the
- 6:30president of Kodak right through to Headhunter.
- 6:36And what does that look like? What is a Headhunter for
- 6:41example? Headhunter is like I always did
- 6:46senior levels, so C-Suite people and I have to see and recommend
- 6:53who could be the next president or the next vice president on X
- 6:57direct for such and such companies.
- 6:59For that, I need to understand the environment of the company,
- 7:04who would be suitable for that position.
- 7:06For instance, if it is a company that they like to fight among
- 7:12themselves, there are a lot of argument and all the time
- 7:15finding their space and I can see that because I'm there.
- 7:18I'm talking to everybody to understand the profile.
- 7:21I cannot put up people. There is only peace and love.
- 7:25That's not for them. For people have to go into a
- 7:30company that also has this profile instead of just putting
- 7:34everybody that I was interviewing in the profile.
- 7:38Being a good headhunter means that you have to understand what
- 7:42number one is good for your candidate.
- 7:45If you don't put the good candidate into that seat, he
- 7:48will leave and then it's not a very good job he made redundant
- 7:55or he will leave because it's not like the company.
- 7:57So number one for me, even though the client hired me, my
- 8:01number one priority was always my candidate because I have
- 8:05seats that are going to be good for him.
- 8:06Otherwise, I don't place him and I say, listen, this is not for
- 8:09you. The companies like these are the
- 8:11cops or the other way around. If the person the executive was
- 8:15got chaotic, he likes to go into chaotic and the company's all
- 8:20calm and peaceful. I said you're not going to, you
- 8:23know you're going to get there, going to destroy everything.
- 8:25The culture, that's not for you. You're going to be frustrated.
- 8:29Really, it's not going to be great.
- 8:32So you you're fast tracking people and that is very
- 8:36energetically aligned. So you're able to see people's
- 8:41strengths and yeah, and you can see obviously and identify those
- 8:47strengths. And it must be hard for some
- 8:51people to hear the hard stuff that you might need to tell
- 8:56them. And when if somebody's in the
- 8:59wrong role, do you advise them to step out quietly and wait
- 9:05till they get something better? Or do you think if they're in a
- 9:09toxic space where their lives are literally being impacted,
- 9:15what would you tell them to do? So when I was in the head
- 9:19hunting business, I took my Fridays all my that's why I
- 9:22decided to go there. I wanted to give my money back
- 9:25to the universe for being president so already.
- 9:28So I decided to do that and I separate my Fridays to talk to
- 9:32people that were in the market and needed some coaching for
- 9:35whatever. And I spoke to many people
- 9:38during my Fridays that were in the situation like my president
- 9:43hired me to do this job and two years on the job and I have the
- 9:47salesperson that does not do like a marketing person does not
- 9:51do anything that I tell him to do.
- 9:53My marketing presentations and my marketing recommendations are
- 9:57not, are not used by the salesperson.
- 10:01And I said, OK, So what have you done in two years, every quarter
- 10:05in the presenting something that the guy is not using.
- 10:07And so that's why I want to leave.
- 10:11I said, I cannot offer you, you have #1 to understand that
- 10:15you're not adding value to the company.
- 10:17I'm so sorry to tell you this. You're not adding value.
- 10:20You have to talk to a president and tell that this guy now is a
- 10:24disaster. But after two years, to be very
- 10:27honest with you, I was really looking for a new job because
- 10:30this is not going to land, Terry.
- 10:32I always try to be as honest as possible because I think that's
- 10:37being honest, even if the hard feedback is the best you can
- 10:41give tough love. They always thanked me for that,
- 10:46even though, but it's because they couldn't see this way.
- 10:50And this person is specifically, I could not place him in any
- 10:55way. And I said #1 you needed to put
- 10:57your strength back on you. And I cannot do that putting you
- 11:00already in another company because we're depleted of he was
- 11:04depleted of his energy. He was really not thinking that
- 11:09he could do a good job in another company because this guy
- 11:12has totally put him down, the salesperson, the sales director,
- 11:17and he wasn't working at all. So I have bad news.
- 11:21I have interviewed people that came to me like a CFO and you
- 11:25know what? Back and then suddenly they're
- 11:30fired. But do you think though, I'm the
- 11:33sort of person that I think I know we need money, we need to
- 11:38have security. And you talk about how one of
- 11:43the biggest energetic blocks that people have is security.
- 11:48So sometimes they're in fear of kind of taking that next leap
- 11:54and moving into something that's going to be better for them
- 11:58because they're feeling insecure and they're in fear.
- 12:02And I guess my question is energetically, how do you align?
- 12:08Because I've got a close family member right now who's in a
- 12:14company. He's not actually doing the
- 12:17trade as such. That he studied, he's doing
- 12:21supervisory, probably better than myself.
- 12:24That you think you're going in One Direction and then next
- 12:27thing you know, you're head hunting and then you're becoming
- 12:29an energetic business coach and healer.
- 12:32So life can take us on so many twists and turns.
- 12:37And we're going to talk about your brush with breast cancer
- 12:40and how that won't cure a lot in the energetic sense.
- 12:45But I just want to come back to for this family member, they're
- 12:49wanting to do the right thing by the company.
- 12:52They know that their life is, it's really reflecting in their
- 12:56family life. They're suffering, they're not
- 12:58themselves, they're not feeling good, and yet they won't take
- 13:02the step. And the reason why is because
- 13:07they're in fear of the security side that they're going to lose.
- 13:13What is it that you do with clients that can help them to
- 13:18take that leap of faith and perhaps to understand when it's
- 13:24time to go and to help develop that security in transition
- 13:30phase? When you know that you are not
- 13:33aligned with your purpose, you know it.
- 13:36Nobody needs to tell you, Terry, that you are on the right or
- 13:39wrong. You know that you're not on the
- 13:41right company. They're not being valued.
- 13:43You have your own feelings and sentiment.
- 13:45I never tell clients to quit the job and when they come to me, we
- 13:51can do a parallel work. But the parallel work is needed
- 13:55because again, as I was telling you before, I needed to write to
- 13:59me everything that you have done since you started working, since
- 14:04you are an intern and your accomplishments so that you can
- 14:08see how good you are. Once you understand how good
- 14:11you're ready to start doing another interview.
- 14:14So then of course, there's a lot of other techniques that I
- 14:16teach. And once I understand and we I
- 14:20coach a lot on how to make good interviews, then he can start
- 14:24looking for jobs, whatever he wants to look LinkedIn or other
- 14:28platforms and then go and start doing interviews.
- 14:32Just leave when you have another thing.
- 14:34But once we start the process of liberating yourself, this
- 14:39company, trying to find another one, you're right, start feeling
- 14:42better. It's amazing.
- 14:44Now you start, your mood changes.
- 14:47Once I had a client that he was 61 and he thought you would
- 14:54never find another job. He was made redundant.
- 14:57His boss was 40 years old, told him he was too old.
- 15:00Poor guy. He came here devastated.
- 15:03I said there is not a thing that's too old or too young or
- 15:06whatever must be good for your job.
- 15:08So tell me exactly why you did see.
- 15:11So we start and he did, and he found one or two interviews and
- 15:15he got the first time for the first interview that he made
- 15:17because then he felt that no good he was.
- 15:21When he starts remembering the last guy that said he was old
- 15:25said you don't need to be old. There's something in.
- 15:28Here. Old age doesn't exist?
- 15:33Well, it's you do something. You know, that's lesson #1 your
- 15:40age does not define you. And lesson #2 that I just heard
- 15:45is building up that confidence in yourself by remembering who
- 15:51you are so that you can go forward in these interview
- 15:55processes. And then that kind of breeds a
- 15:59better energetic kind of element.
- 16:02And I'm sure that crossing that, that kind of threshold, it's
- 16:07like the breakthrough anyway. And so you obviously feel that
- 16:13knowing how to do a good interview is very important for
- 16:16people. Or what tips do you give around
- 16:21and somebody needs some obviously tips on how to do a
- 16:26good interview? You have to make a summary of
- 16:30you have to get the attention in the 1st 5 minutes.
- 16:33For instance, you say I have worked all my life in
- 16:35multinationals and the three pillars of my career.
- 16:38Word is in this, you know it when you write everything.
- 16:42So then you make your 3 minutes statement or two and say so.
- 16:48And because of these three pillars after that I have done,
- 16:51I have worked in these companies and I have always a successfully
- 16:56growing companies on work on the PNL.
- 16:59I have done this and that you make your statement 3 minutes.
- 17:03This is the biggest because after that how much time do I
- 17:08have to tell us? And then the person, OK, you
- 17:12have 20 minutes or 15 minutes or whatever, but then if that the
- 17:16first 3 minutes is good enough, you got his attention.
- 17:20If he said well I started making as an intern in here that forget
- 17:24it, you lost the person. Yes, you have to point dot point
- 17:29dot point know what you're going to say before you say it.
- 17:33Questions like how long do I have tell the story they want to
- 17:38hear. And I think keeping the end in
- 17:40mind, isn't it so the outcome of what it is that they're looking
- 17:46for and perhaps what they want and bringing that in so that
- 17:50that's amazing. So.
- 17:52One detail, Terry, just a second.
- 17:53Never lie on interview. Never lies.
- 17:57If you have to say why do we really have done?
- 17:59Because headhunters when I was, you have to double check
- 18:04everything that you said. So if you tell me you grow the
- 18:07company, whatever I'm going to ask for, I want the reference
- 18:11checking. So I'm going to ask your boss.
- 18:13You want me, Terry? She told me that she grew 20%
- 18:16and Oh no, Terry was a disaster. Terry grew 50%.
- 18:26She was being modest. People say it.
- 18:29People say it. So don't lie.
- 18:33No, because. I will have a very good memory
- 18:36to read if you are going to lie and yeah, you wanna own yourself
- 18:41and you can. I think a lot of people brush
- 18:44over their their gifts and their talents anyway.
- 18:48And it doesn't matter what that gift is or how Rachel small it
- 18:53is. Really open that up and really
- 18:57spend that time being able to expound on it.
- 19:02Because if and you've lived it and you've breathed it, then
- 19:05you're going to know how to speak it.
- 19:08And and that's going to really captivate people really more
- 19:12than so much of conversation of a lot of things.
- 19:17OK. So let's move now to because
- 19:20obviously you've got into the deep infrastructure of business
- 19:27to this extent and you're helping people tremendously as a
- 19:32business coach. And it's almost like you're best
- 19:35kept secret is that you are energetically helping that
- 19:41client to align. Because I know that I once heard
- 19:45that success in business is actually 20% strategy, 80%
- 19:53energy. So yeah, do you want to expound
- 19:58on that? And let's talk.
- 19:59Let's start off with your brush with breast cancer and how that
- 20:05moved you to that next level in energy healing and how you've
- 20:11tied that in with what you do. When I had my breast cancer, it
- 20:16was as I told you, it was a tiny one, but I had to do right.
- 20:19I took just a part of the breast.
- 20:21I did register the simple thing and then a friend of mine said I
- 20:25have this energy Doctor that you should see.
- 20:29And I thought OK, I'm good but I'm going to see out of
- 20:32curiosity. And I loved it and I love the
- 20:35way the crystals. He opened my chakras.
- 20:38I have never heard of chakras before.
- 20:40So he start telling me all the things that I didn't know and
- 20:44that I love and I when I left his role, I was floating and one
- 20:50thing that I always understood and I start doing meditation,
- 20:54going to meditation places from Brahma Kumaris in Brazil.
- 20:58Brahma Kumaris is from India, but they have this philosophy
- 21:01that was in Brazil. And one thing that they taught
- 21:03us was that everything that starts in your thought, it goes
- 21:08to your words and transforms interaction.
- 21:11So if you have a positive thoughts, it goes into your
- 21:14positive words that transforms into positive actions.
- 21:17So if you have a negative thought, it goes the same way.
- 21:21So successful people and I had seen it, they always have be the
- 21:26best and dramatic thing. They always see the positive
- 21:29side of everything if you, and that's the energy speaking, you
- 21:36have a positive energy towards the outcome that's coming to you
- 21:41and you change it. You change the outcome because
- 21:43when you're not so embedded in negativity in yourself and
- 21:48people recognize that you are a positive person, like you are
- 21:52always smiling. Terry, it's amazing.
- 21:55No, it is because you're a very positive person and you try to
- 21:58take the best of everybody and that is important.
- 22:02So when I'm telling this, because when I interviewed Seoul
- 22:05as a headhunter and I got there and the guy was or the girl
- 22:09guys, just a form of saying was how it was.
- 22:13That company was a nightmare and it happened and this happened
- 22:16and it's so depressing to listen to that.
- 22:20And I was thinking, I said, wow, first thing that I was to say,
- 22:24you cannot say these things. All the positivity that you had
- 22:28from this company. I know the last time, because if
- 22:31you are interviewing for a different company is because
- 22:33you're not happy where you are. But how about the other year,
- 22:37the year before? How did you get there?
- 22:39How positive it was? And then of course, people
- 22:42change and everything changes and you get to a loop that you
- 22:46don't like. Then it's time to go.
- 22:48It's time to leave the circle. We have a light inside companies
- 22:55and you start seeing it when everything start to go wrong.
- 23:00Red flag. It's time to.
- 23:02Go. Oh yeah, because everything.
- 23:05Starts. To roll, that's like a wider
- 23:07name. Just when you move, this is
- 23:09done. This is.
- 23:10Cool, that's very interesting. So when things are, you've got
- 23:16to ask yourself, I think I'm hearing so many people going
- 23:20through so many issues at the moment, and in some cases it's
- 23:26one thing after another. So you get caught into this,
- 23:30almost locked into a snowball effect.
- 23:33And it's for the love of God, what is it that you need to
- 23:37learn here? What is the universe saying to
- 23:41you? And because sometimes it has to
- 23:45scream at you. And my philosophy is that's
- 23:49sometimes why we hit the wall. So it's oh, OK, good that
- 23:53happened. What, what do I need to do?
- 23:56What is it that I need to change right here and now?
- 24:00And I feel like I would love to hand over to you for a little
- 24:05snippet of your mastery and what I call your ingenious as a
- 24:12president of business companies, as a headhunter, as a person who
- 24:19started off doing psychology and then was very uninspired by the
- 24:23feature. I think that's what you said.
- 24:25Is that right? Isn't it interesting though?
- 24:28We can be inspired or we can be completely put off a career path
- 24:35because the wrong person was involved.
- 24:39Maybe you can do a little business snapshot with me so
- 24:45that I guess the listeners tune will be on TuneIn.
- 24:49And I'm just going to say that we have all of Maggie's details
- 24:55in the show notes. So make sure that you head over
- 24:58to the show notes where you can find this lady because this is
- 25:04the real deal. We're talking the real deal here
- 25:07of life experience, not someone who's just, oh, I've got this
- 25:11strategy and come in. I know when I first came into
- 25:15the online coaching space, I spent thousands, 10's and
- 25:19thousands of dollars learning strategic resources from
- 25:24business coaches that really didn't they?
- 25:28All they did is they had this one strategy.
- 25:30They didn't really understand the nuts and the bolts.
- 25:34And then you might have, what I was looking for is actually
- 25:37someone like yourself who can put together both the energetic
- 25:44and the business side. So can I hand that over to you?
- 25:48And I want you to, this is the fun part.
- 25:52Pretend that I've rolled up in your zone and here I am.
- 25:57And I need to improve my life in my business.
- 26:03And I'm here with you. But I did get a little snippet
- 26:07that there was some energetic as well and maybe even some insight
- 26:14of where you can be assisted. True, because we didn't mention
- 26:19it, but this beautiful lady not only has done crystal healing
- 26:23but tarot as well. Over to you.
- 26:28My entire career, even by instinct, I always try to see
- 26:33the positive side of things, even in the most company and
- 26:39everything. So I started in companies that
- 26:41were very difficult, like in Bean Bath that now is this big
- 26:45multinational of beer. Then I moved to a very nice and
- 26:49soft company, which was Gillette before Procter and Gamble is US
- 26:53marketing. Then I moved to Coca-Cola,
- 26:56became a marketing director, which was great.
- 27:00Marketing. If you've become a marketing
- 27:02director at Coca-Cola, wow, girl.
- 27:06Yeah. I'm in front of the right
- 27:09person. Now, it was great.
- 27:11It was really fun. I love that.
- 27:14But then, as I told you, I saw that I had a ceiling because all
- 27:18the presidents for Coca-Cola in Brazil at that time, they were
- 27:21Mayo and from US, I'm Brazilian and from Brazil.
- 27:25So that's not going to happen. So then I was invited to go to
- 27:28Kodak and when I was being interviewed, the boss, the the
- 27:33president was a man, but he was Brazilian.
- 27:36And I said 50%, who knows? And then what I figure out what
- 27:43during my two years marketing director, I did a lot and in
- 27:48Kodak for that the team itself to help the team grow and
- 27:54putting, you know, strategy is good when they are
- 27:58executionable. You cannot just think about
- 28:02things. And I try to put all the the
- 28:05strategic thinking there were there to the ground always did
- 28:09it. So that helped me a lot.
- 28:11So two years later, they invited me to do a course at Smith
- 28:15College in US. It's like an MBA to become the
- 28:20president of a cluster of countries in Latin America.
- 28:23That was crazy. That's amazing.
- 28:26Can I ask you a question being the marketing, being in in the
- 28:30marketing of saying, I know Gillette was a nice soft kind of
- 28:35vibe, but then Coca-Cola, they've got a big grant.
- 28:39What would you say would be one of the finest, I guess
- 28:45resources, tips and tricks for people that are branding
- 28:49themselves and are putting themselves out there?
- 28:52What do you think that they need to do?
- 28:55And right now Coca-Cola, the time that I was going there, you
- 29:04hello Coca-Cola. You need to be to have a fast
- 29:07track and a fast thinking. It's a very PD company, the
- 29:13opposite of Gillette. So let's they think this very
- 29:16strategic and they take forever to make the thing work just now.
- 29:23So to understand, I could work very well in one and very well
- 29:28in the other, but not everybody could work very well with with 1
- 29:31and in the other I saw many people.
- 29:34Leave. Coca-Cola because lack Daisy
- 29:38speedy that they need and you have to rock the boat according
- 29:42to the boat. If the boat is fast, you go
- 29:44fast. If the boat.
- 29:47Then Coca-Cola needed this. This is speediness and that if
- 29:51you go to a company in Rome, do like the Romans as as they.
- 29:56Say. I'm served, my team is observed.
- 30:00If they are fast trackers, be a fast tracker.
- 30:03If there are slow ones, answer that's no no.
- 30:07Try to impose your flow. That's my main tip and.
- 30:14That's very good. That's like rapporting.
- 30:16That's the art of rapport. Like we I teach that with neuro
- 30:20linguistic programming that if you want to make headway with
- 30:24someone and they go a bit flat bit down the dust, come in like
- 30:28a play wolf. I'll be going smart.
- 30:30Hey, hi, what are you doing? Because that might intimidate
- 30:33them. They come down into their level
- 30:35a little bit of and vibe wisdom, isn't it?
- 30:38So it's there's a lot of energetic alignment there that I
- 30:43believe is very powerful. So thank you so much for that.
- 30:46That's really interesting to know.
- 30:48And when the boat's rocking, just know how to rock with it
- 30:52and perhaps a couple of patent interruptions here and there
- 30:56never goes astray either. Yep.
- 30:58OK. So I guess if I was going to
- 31:02come to you and want to improve something, it might be a little
- 31:05bit about the fact of where I am.
- 31:08Like I'm very, very good in what I do as a coach, but I have a
- 31:14lot of the back end stuff that I'm not so good at.
- 31:19So tech technology and finer details and elements like that.
- 31:25So where can you take me here? When you're not good at
- 31:30something, find someone who is, you know and help you because
- 31:35when I have, I'm coaching one CEO and she was telling me that,
- 31:41wow, I'm not very good at technology and said you don't
- 31:44need to be. You are the CEO of the guy, but
- 31:46just trust somebody below you that is the good guy on
- 31:51technology. Just trust but you.
- 31:53Can love that and I think a lot of coaches out there because a
- 31:58lot of my own community that listening to this they are
- 32:02aspiring coaches here as leaders that are wanting to make way and
- 32:07some of them they've just started out so they they quite
- 32:11often they'll complain. Oh I don't have enough money.
- 32:14So they've got to be the master of everything and really there
- 32:19are Jack of all strike trades and then they're a master of
- 32:22none where we really need to be a master of 1 isn't it?
- 32:26That's what I'm hearing yeah. So how do we go?
- 32:29How do we get around the kind of balancing financially, say if
- 32:37somebody is moving into their business, they don't have a lot
- 32:42of capital, a lot of revenue, and they're just getting on
- 32:45their feet? It's usually very complicated
- 32:49when you try to finance everything yourself.
- 32:52You have to find somebody that's already doing this kind of
- 32:55service to someone else that's not going to charge you that
- 32:59amount of money. But if you're not good at
- 33:01something, don't try to do it because you're not going to be
- 33:04good. If you're trying to do something
- 33:06that you're not good, the results not going to be good.
- 33:10So you have to invest a little bit to have you talk about Joe
- 33:14Dispenser. Do you think he's he does all
- 33:16that, all the fights? What a lot.
- 33:18Of people behind and then the beginning, probably somebody
- 33:22helping him to make this voice that makes you go into not a
- 33:28little. Trans.
- 33:30All the things, but you needed to invest on your business, on
- 33:34yourself a little bit for you, but you go there and you don't
- 33:38have only one person for you that you know.
- 33:41Oh, usually there are people that does the same job for a lot
- 33:46of other ones. Try this one because then it's
- 33:48going to be cheap, cheap. Don't over invest.
- 33:53You don't, we don't. But at the same time, I think
- 33:58it's a bit, it's a bit of a disillusioned to think that you
- 34:02can come into any business and think that you don't have to
- 34:06outlay any money because that's just really not going to happen,
- 34:09is it? Whether you are renting premises
- 34:13or what you're doing, I do believe you need to put some
- 34:18money down so that you can move forward.
- 34:21So maybe I'm answering my own questions here, but yeah, is
- 34:25there anything you would like to?
- 34:27For instance. You have.
- 34:29To invest on your website, you have to right?
- 34:35You have our page just for that. When you hire somebody that's
- 34:39going to be the mountainous of your web page and you can
- 34:42combine things and there's so many talented young people there
- 34:46that needs money to go through university.
- 34:48This new generation, they were born with these gifts.
- 34:51We don't need to very high skilled person if you do not
- 34:55have the sort of the resource yet, but you can pay for interns
- 35:00in university, their joint tech or whatever to help you and
- 35:04they're going to be very glad with the money that you have.
- 35:06So always what I see, what I'll try to do is see the keys of the
- 35:11friends or whoever. Everybody has a friend that has
- 35:14a kid that is a kind of attack that doesn't charge that much.
- 35:18It's not you're working yet, it's you study.
- 35:21I'm sorry that can help. So that's, oh, I love that.
- 35:28I absolutely love that because I'm just getting all these
- 35:33pennies dropping because I'm going, oh, I'm in Romeo at the
- 35:36moment and I'm surrounded by these young people that have
- 35:40come out of school that want to go into media and they're, like
- 35:45you say, naturally affiliated with technology.
- 35:49And I'm going, here's me looking like you're looking a far up to
- 35:55get the right help, and they could be right under your notes.
- 35:59Do you know what I mean? Yeah.
- 36:00No, that's really awesome. That's really good.
- 36:03So would you like to showcase anything that you would do with
- 36:09a person like me? I was a little bit out of
- 36:12alignment on a few things. What I would do with you, number
- 36:16one, I have to understand exactly what you're good at.
- 36:20You'll have to talk a lot. My thing is understanding.
- 36:24I'm going to ask you 1000 questions to understand your
- 36:27business. You understand also, I like to
- 36:31do one thing that I really like. It's a future board.
- 36:34Your future board is how do you think you're going to be in 10
- 36:39years from now where you'd like to be?
- 36:42And then you're going to put pictures in your love life, in
- 36:45your professional life. And it's a board really, and
- 36:48you're going to send it to me and let's discuss why you want
- 36:51to do that. Could that sets your vision for
- 36:54you? 1015 years depend on how long
- 36:57you want to do that. When you set for instance, oh, I
- 37:01want to in 10 years or 15 years, I want to be, I don't know,
- 37:05having a house at the beach, doing nothing in Perth and just
- 37:09hanging out there, not doing my job, whatever, or with my
- 37:14husband or with some kids or with some friends, be traveling
- 37:17all the way. You're going to tell me and then
- 37:20you're going to see where did you like to work for, join this,
- 37:24and then you construct from there from the future to the
- 37:27back. I love doing this exercise.
- 37:29Oh, I love that. So you like to get them to
- 37:34really see themselves out there in their future and really have
- 37:40those pictures in all those areas of their life and then get
- 37:45them to really experience it and then reverse engineer them.
- 37:50Yeah. Wow.
- 37:51Today and see how we can grow the steps to get where you want
- 37:56to be and that's amazing how you can because when you put
- 38:02perspective on why you want to work so hard, why you want to do
- 38:05this what I said actually, I don't need to actually I just.
- 38:10Want. To do that or actually a new
- 38:13perspective into your life and why you want to do that.
- 38:16Why? Why is it it's just because I
- 38:20want to have money to travel with my friends to whatever.
- 38:24Great. So what could I make you have
- 38:26money to travel with your friends to whatever.
- 38:29So what kind of job is that is that?
- 38:34Can you start work with the friends now, travelling with
- 38:38your friends now and then from time 10 years from now, you're
- 38:42going to just be travelling whatever, whatever is your
- 38:46future destination. What do you want?
- 38:49What's the purpose, what we want to make you happy?
- 38:52What do you want to do from then?
- 38:55We start work with you to here. So that's what I would do.
- 39:00With you. I love that.
- 39:02And I know that since I was a little girl I've always just
- 39:05wanted to be famous Yeah, I and I thought, oh, surely everybody
- 39:11else wants that as well, but apparently no.
- 39:15So now I'm going to ask the question that I always love to
- 39:19ask to conclude the show. And it's about all the things
- 39:24that we have spoken about here, from your journey through to
- 39:30everything from being president to Headhunter to really being
- 39:36able to give some really powerful tips and tricks to
- 39:40people to align them with their destiny.
- 39:44And then, of course, to risk the grand finale with the the vision
- 39:48board, the reverse engineering and really finding your why and
- 39:53understanding that when you're putting your why out there and
- 39:57you're understanding it so much, then you're living, you can live
- 40:01in congruence with that, which is absolutely gold.
- 40:06So thank you so much for sharing that.
- 40:08And remember to contact Maggie in the show notes.
- 40:12Tell me, what would be your number one share for people?
- 40:19That you would love them to know, to understand.
- 40:22Now it might be you I reiterating something you've
- 40:25already said or I just would hate you to jump off this
- 40:29broadcast and go, Oh my gosh, I really would have loved to have
- 40:33said that. So I always hold the floor for
- 40:37that, that last question. Well, the only thing that I
- 40:42really ask that I would like everybody to know is that when I
- 40:46work with clients, I try to change their mindset for the
- 40:51positive or how good they are. And everything starts here.
- 40:56And that's what I have to say it again.
- 40:58When you have the mindset that you are very good and you can do
- 41:02anything that comes to your mouth that you can apply for
- 41:06better jobs. That's what I'm doing today.
- 41:08If you put your mind to little things, you think you are small,
- 41:12you cannot do it. So you're going to apply for a
- 41:15little things and little. But when you think big and then
- 41:19you're going to say things that are going to make you look big
- 41:22and you're going to make you big.
- 41:25So never forget that it starts. Everything starts here.
- 41:29So think first. What do you want?
- 41:33What are your thoughts? What are you communicating to
- 41:36the world about you? Because when you say positive
- 41:39things are good things are big things about you, that's how the
- 41:43universe is going to see you and how everything happened.
- 41:47Or a phrasing hour. Don't dispense a friend.
- 41:49So you have to, but it starts here.
- 41:54So it starts here and it comes out here and then it's massive
- 42:00aligned action. Wow.
- 42:03Maybe, what can I say? Thank you.
- 42:05I've learned so much on this broadcast.
- 42:07There's some incredible tips and tricks and bless you for your
- 42:12knowledge and everything you're doing.
- 42:15And I, I just want to just really give my deepest gratitude
- 42:21for everything that you've shared on this show.
- 42:25Thank you, Terry. Thank you very much.
